Ep 44: Part 1 Star Wars, Rival Wars…How Many Wars Can There Be?

The concert continues with Charly singing the next song. The crowd goes wild with his swaying hips and muscular arms which are no longer hidden by a jacket. After he finishes, Erick goes up to close the concert with “Estamos Perdiendo El Tiempo.” As he sings, his mic goes off and Charly comes up to save the day. He sings “Perdoname” as Yameli and Juanjo check Erick’s mic. Yameli grabs El Buho’s mic and gives it to Erick telling Erick to go and sing alongside Charly…Erick WILL close the concert since everyone there came for him. When Erick goes up and starts singing, Charly is stupefied but continues to sing until he gets back into the groove. As they sing, Juanjo gets his can of Raid and goes off to get rid of Hormiga and takes over the sound system. Once the song finishes, Erick goes front and center and announces that he will continue where he left off and urges the crowd to sing along. Charly and his swaying hips remain on stage as he helps encourage the crowd to sing. Juanjo and Yameli proudly smile in satisfaction. Once finished, Charly and Erick support each other as the brothers that they are (NOT!). In the audience, Zaria gives accolades to Erick; an unbiased reporter comments on how proud the singers’ mother must be; and the male reporter gives accolades to Charly.

After the concert, Charly asks Yameli and Diana about the rowdy haters. When Yameli explains that El Buho had a contest to give out some tickets, Charly points out that El Buho arrived praising Erick and he didn’t even look at Charly. El Buho has never liked him so El Buho brought in his measly followers. Charly then thinks that Juanjo also had something to do with it...he must be in cahoots with El Buho…and Charly is going to do take care of it because he doesn’t have to put up with this.

Lidia, Erick and Irma are talking when Serg comes in and tells them that Juanjo and Charly are about to get into it. As they go out, Charly accuses Juanjo of being involved in what happened. Juanjo wonders why Charly can’t admit that his career is over, but Charly points out that everyone was screaming for him. When Juanjo accuses him of messing up Erick’s song, Erick asks Juanjo if he has evidence, but Juanjo doesn’t; so Erick tells him to let it go…he is satisfied with the concert. Juanjo warns Erick to be careful with Charly and leaves. Lidia then invites everyone to her place so that they can celebrate.

Yameli is exiting the building when Axel catches up to her and asks what she was up to with Juanjo; he saw them letting in the rowdy bunch. After he threatens to go tell Charly and mentions that he followed her and saw her being chummy with Juanjo, Yameli turns the tables on him and dares him to go to Charly so that she can tell him that Axel is following her…or ask Charly if he is having her followed. Axel backs down and goes back inside. Yameli then calls Restrepo, the PI, and tells him that he needs to find something on Charly. He’d better stick close to Charly when he leaves the concert.

Ruco tells Vanessa that he isn’t going to the post concert celebration…her father was only putting on a show when he talked to him and Erick can’t stand him. He’s going home and will wait for her. After Ruco leaves, Charly comes for Vanessa.

Ruco goes to a park and meets with one of his female buyers. After he kisses her, he gives her the colorful candy. She asks him to stay…she is willing to share and wants to go to the apartment. Ruco agrees.

Ep 44: Part 2 Star Wars, Rival Wars…How Many Wars Can There Be?

At Lidia’s place, Charly talks to Erick about Juanjo, but Erick asks him to let it go…all he cares about is that the concert went well. Charly just wants Erick to be careful with Juanjo since he has known Juanjo for a long time. Juanjo is not what he appears to be…he is a cheat and takes advantage of people. Erick doesn’t want to be rude, but Juanjo says the same thing about Charly. When Charly asks Erick who his family is, Erick replies that Charly is his family, but Juanjo is his friend who has done nothing but treat him well. After Erick tells Charly to leave him out of his problems with Juanjo, Charly asks Erick to think twice about working with Juanjo; he wants Erick to come over to Luxor with him...because Erick is his brother and he loves him. (Big eye roll)

Diana tells Charly that she wants to talk to him. Vanesa watches intently as Charly leaves the room and then follows them. In another room, Diana asks Charly why he made Vanesa think that they were accepting that idiot. Vanesa approaches and listens as Charly explains to Diana that he is only trying to make Vanesa believe that he likes her boyfriend so that she can regain her trust in them. Once they have her trust, they can make her see that the idiot is not good for her. Diana points out that he is lying to Vanessa, but then agrees to help him with is little scheme. Charly thanks her and assures her that things will work out on their own…he knows “those types.” Ruco will do something stupid, Vanessa will be hurt and things will fall into place. When Diana wonders if Charly doesn’t care that Vanessa’s heart will be broken, Charly responds that he doesn’t care as long as it’s for her well-being. Diana thinks it’s too drastic, but Charly has no other option. After Diana agrees that they can’t let Vanessa do whatever she wants, Vanessa comes out from behind the door and asks them if they aren’t tired of trying to run her life. Charly quickly asks what she heard, but then he tells her it doesn’t matter because he and Diana are worried that this guy is brainwashing her. Vanessa argues that Ruco is not like Charly. After Diana adds that they all know that Ruco is not good for her, Vanesa proposes that they forget that she exists and that she forget that they exist. She angrily tells them not to look for her again and storms out. Diana tries to go after her but Charly stops her because they shouldn’t go running after Vanessa every time she has a tantrum; Vanessa needs to learn that there are consequences to her actions…the only thing they can do is to support her when she falls.

The others see Vanessa rush out so Yameli goes after her. Outside Vanessa tells Yameli that her father lied to her again…she doesn’t need his money, his support, or him. Yameli offers to help Vanessa; she has contacts in the modeling business; so Yameli will help her find a job. Yameli sets conditions—Vanessa has to continue her studies, she can’t do anything stupid and she can’t tell her parents that Yameli is helping her. After Vanessa agrees to Yameli’s conditions and thanks her, Yameli asks her to let her know when she arrives safely to Ruco’s place and to call her if she needs anything. Once inside, Yameli tells Charly and Diana that Vanessa wants nothing to do with them. Lidia tries to intervene, but Charly tells her not to get involved. Diana feels like she was not born to be a mother since she is doing everything wrong; and Charly wants to continue the celebration.

Vanessa gets home with a long face and sees that Ruco is a bit too happy, but he gives her some sorry excuse that she eats up. Vanessa tells him that her parents are liars; she will be living him after all. Ruco is even happier and tells her that he will be with her in good times and in bad.

Ep 44: Part 3 Star Wars, Rival Wars…How Many Wars Can There Be?

At Lidia’s place, Charly admires Diana’s legs then goes and puts his arm around Yameli, but Yameli quickly gets up. When Charly asks Irma if she will audition for him, Erick quickly tells him that Juanjo already asked Irma for an audition. Charly thinks it’s Irma’s decision—does she want to audition for some ass who doesn’t even know how to comb his hair or does she want to audition for Charly Flow. Irma will think about it as Erick looks quite uncomfortable and dubious. Charly calls Diana over so that they can make an appointment, but Diana gets a call and leaves. Restrepo, the PI, tells Diana that he has something on Charly; so she makes plans to meet with him the next day. After Diana tells Yameli that Restrepo has some info, Yameli goes out and quickly calls Restrepo…she doesn’t want him to give Diana any info unless she sees it and gives her clearance.

Lidia thanks Yameli for helping her two sons. After Yameli leaves, Charly makes it clear that Yameli only helps him because he pays her…she helped Erick only because she likes him. As they all sit, Charly gets up and tells them that he forgot to ask Yameli something and goes after her. He catches up to her outside and asks her not to go as he tries to hold her, but Yameli warns him that his family could see them. Charly wants her to spend the night with him since he is so sad and needs to be pampered. Yameli points out that he is so drunk that the will pass out when he gets home…and she prefers to sleep in peace at her home. As Yameli drives off, Charly calls another of his princesses and will go pick her up. Across the street, Restrepo watches and takes photos.

At Ruco’s place, Ruco arrives with dinner. When Vanessa notices Ruco’s new watch and asks where he got it since he said he had no money, Ruco tells her that it belonged to his grandfather and he happened to find it in his jacket, but Vanessa ain’t buying it.

Charly goes to pick up his Princess Caroline as Restrepo follows and gets more evidence.

At Juanjo’s place, Wendy reproaches Juanjo for helping Yameli with her vendetta…and he’d better not deny it because she saw what happened at the concert. Juanjo admits that he can’t stay out of it…Yameli asked him to not get involved, but he refused. Wendy is aghast that he admits it with such ease. They start arguing because Wendy doesn’t understand why Juanjo still has a need to help Yameli when the problem is between Yameli and Charly. Juanjo retorts that he has to be involved because Yameli was unjustly put in prison for 17 years. Wendy worries…if Charly could do that to Yameli when they were young, he could do worse to Juanjo now since he is more dangerous. When she points out that Charly hates him, Juanjo remarks that he is not afraid of Charly. What Charly did was wrong and he needs to be taught a lesson.

Charly arrives at his place and helps Princess Caroline out of the car as he caresses and strokes her…and Restrepo goes crazy with his camera. Once inside the apartment, Charly makes his moves, but Princess Caroline wants him to slow down. Charly apologizes for moving too fast, but he has wanted her ever since he first saw her…with her it’s different. Princess Caroline takes note of the crappy pick-up lines, but she doesn’t seem to care. They continue on to the bedroom…

"REINA":

RGV Chick: I'm still betting Wendy will open her big mouth & tell Charly & Co., that Yameli is alive & well.

REINA

“Star Wars, Rival Wars…How Many Wars Can There Be?” Inspired. Beyond.

Rgv Chick, I devoured every single word. Sublmie. Just juicy lines that shone and sparkled. “Juanjo gets his can of Raid and goes off to get rid of Hormiga” was my favorite. “Charly and his swaying hips remain on stage”, “Erick is his brother and he loves him. (Big eye roll)” and “Erick looks quite uncomfortable and dubious” were not far behind.

“Yameli grabs El Buho’s mic and gives it to Erick telling Erick to go and sing alongside Charly…” Was anyone else uncomfortable during this scene?? Juanjo and Yameli literally forced the deer in the headlights Erick into a potential fire pit. Thankfully, it worked out.

I thought the show was wonderful and Lambda and Polo killed it. Interesting that Lambda seemed a bit out of breath after the first set, only as he is a seasoned performer. No judgement – he is moving frantically and singing and someone in lesser shape would probably have fallen to a heap on the floor. Not that I’m looking in the mirror or anything :)

“Juanjo wonders why Charly can’t admit that his career is over”. Ummmm, I understand the hating and Charly IS in process of being eclipsed, but no, saying his career needs resuscitation that is a huge exaggeration.

“Axel backs down and goes back inside”. Axel should not be underestimated.

“Vanessa needs to learn that there are consequences to her actions…the only thing they can do is to support her when she falls” were wise words from someone you’d least expect. Van is a brat and I do feel for Diana. I guess I should be happy Yameli is helping her but that queasy bit of uneasiness continues to rise in my heart.

This latest reveal that Juanjo is helping Yameli of his own volition is a huge red flag. Yet, while the truth is out there plain as day, Wendy is still trying to excuse, to vainly fight for someone she never had. I am fearful this will end tragically for her.

“Princess Caroline takes note of the crappy pick-up lines, but she doesn’t seem to care” was just the icing on this delicious cake Rgv Chick. Speaking of “killing it” you slayed this recap masterfully.

REINA

Sublime, not Sublmie. Sigh.

Steve, Wendy talking out of turn is a definite concern. Especially as she is forced to see daily that Yameli will always be in Juanjo's life. And heart.

One of my many concerns is how her identify will come out. Yameli has had so many close calls lately (as we've all been discussing), her luck may come to an abrupt end. It would be nice for her to do the "big reveal" at a pivotal moment, crushing Charly even further but even the best laid plans...

Diana

REINA

Oh boy, RGV Chick after I pressed "copy" and then finished the recap, I read Diana's comment and sure enough, we picked the same line:

"As they sing, Juanjo gets his can of Raid and goes off to get rid of Hormiga and takes over the sound system."

Just have to laugh at how "connected" we are. And how much we enjoy your snarky asides.

Loved last night's how (this is NudyB talking now) because of all the great moves (the actor playing Charlie is an amazing dancer) and the sassy, rhythmic (thank God for spellcheck)singing. Those tunes and beats were reverberating through my head all night. The young actor playing Erick did a good job of holding the stage with his "brother" and I was happy with the way Juanjo and Yameli salvaged the situation for Erick. If only Charly could be as good as guy as he pretends to be for his public, all would be well.

I think we can all feel the tension building as we wonder how and when Yameli will be revealed. And how she will handle it then.

Story is still enthralling and your and Diana's recaps are great Rgv Chick. Thanks so much.

REINA-SOY

Thank you Diana and J(N)udyB!

Diana, I agree that Lambda and Polo killed it..and those gyrating hips...Ay! Ay! Ay! I still get chills just thinking in about it. NudyB, I completely can relate to " Those tunes and beats were reverberating through my head all night." THe adrenaline was high so i had a hard time falling asleep.

"“Yameli grabs El Buho’s mic and gives it to Erick telling Erick to go and sing alongside Charly…” Was anyone else uncomfortable during this scene?? Raising my hand high a yelling "Oh! Oh! Oh! a la Horshack. It was like throwing a lamb to the wolf, but Erick proved to be no lamb, thank goodness! for a first concert, I'd say Erick was exceptional.

I also agree that Juanjo was out of line when he told Charly that his career was over. I t was a very impulsive thing to say and I don't blame Charly at all for pointing out that all the fans were shouting to him.

JudyB, " If only Charly could be as good as guy as he pretends to be for his public, all would be well." He sure did put on a great show in his attempt to make his fans believe that he and Erick have a great relationship, bu then he has had several years of practice and fooling his fans into thinking tha tall is hunky dory with his family and business.

Of all the characters, I feel the most for Erick and Vanesa, victims of those who should do nothing but love and support them.

Yes, that tension is building up in anticipation of the big reveal. Aside from Tono, Erick also knows that name of his mother; he is not 100% sure the info they gave him is accurate, we know it is and I would much rather that Erick find out on his own rather than have Tono revel it.

reina-soy

Thank you, Rgv Chick.

"Star Wars, Rival Wars" - I think this war ended in a draw. Both Charly and Eric recovered from the saboteurs. But if it weren't for Juanjo and Yamelí, Charly would have crushed Eric. Eric definitely should not go to Luxor to have Charly "support" him. Neither should Irma.

Princess Caroline is the woman Charly wanted to hire as his divorce lawyer. Looks like she is going to perform double duty. The detective now has something to show to his clients.

REINA

Hi Judy, Rgv Chick and Lucio...

"Princess" Caroline (just love that) has no problem mixing business and pleasure does she? I thought she was quite stunning and disappointed as I thought she had better taste. Must be something I'm not seeing. That said, I think Lambda is quite hot. I give him credit as he has that blank Charly "stare" down pat along with a smile that never quite reaches his eyes. I would like to see him in a galan role sometime.

Yameli is certainly lucky Charly called Caro or what would she have done??? Her luck is holding out - but it won't forever.

Lucio, Erick seems like a little puppy that gets scolded yet continues to come back for more. He wants his big brother's support and affection so much. I hope he realizes he will never get it.

Ep 45: Part 1 A Denied Love Still Hurts

Yameli is out for her morning run and she stops to meet with Restrepo. As she looks at the pictures of Charly and Princess Caroline, Restrepo notes that Yameli is upset and jealous, but Yameli retorts that she doesn’t give a %$*& about Charly. Yameli doesn’t want Restrepo to send those photos to Diana until Restrepo finds out everything about the broad and until she gives him the order. When she asks what photos he will be sending to Diana, Restrepo shows her some other picture s including the ones where Charly is kissing her. She tells Restrepo that he can’t send anyy pictures that include her to Diana.…she wants Diana to think that Charly is a good person; and when it’s convenient to Yameli, she will show Diana what a pig Charly really is. When Restrepo comments that Yameli must have loved Charly very much and that he knows when someone has been very hurt, Yameli tells Restrepo that he is getting paid to do a job, not to make conjectures
.
Wendy’s mother is getting ready to leave and go back to her home. She advises Wendy to be very attentive with Juanjo…and she needs to keep on eye Yameli.

Yameli continues her run, but stops to look at the pictures Restrepo sent her…as she cries.

Wendy tells Juanjo that she has been thinking of all that has happened to Yameli and agrees that Charly needs to pay for all he did to her. Wendy wants to help Yameli too….Yameli has been her friend for a long time and Wendy doesn’t want to hold back just because of her fears. When she suggests calling Yameli so that they can all talk, Juanjo agrees.

Ruko wakes Vanessa and tells her that he has to rush off to another interview. After Vanessa questions him and never gets a straight answer, Ruko goes to take a shower. Vanessa has more than enough doubts, so she quickly gets dressed and starts looking through everything until she finds Ruko’s stash. When Ruko sees that she found his stash, he tells her that he did for her since they had no money. Vanessa shouts he is exactly like her father…a liar! Vanessa can’t believe she defended him against her family…she wants nothing to do with him and walks out.

Yameli arrives at Juanjo’s house. They all sit together and Wendy tells her about her decision. Yameli can count on both of them for whatever she needs.

Restrepo shows Diana the pictures Yameli approved. Diana complains that he has been following Charly for two weeks and he has found nothing. After Resptrepo assures her that he senses that there is something to be found, Diana asks him to try to find something ASAP…she needs it urgently.

Juanjo explains all that Yameli has done against Charly, but Wendy doesn’t think it’s enough; so Yameli tells them that she wants to bring down Luxor. Yameli is going to take advantage of her relationship with Charly and her job at Luxor to make sure that Juanjo’s studio breaks Luxor. They will need a new talent…such as Irma. Juanjo tells her that he has already talked to Irma, but Yameli urges him to meet with Irma ASAP and get her to sign. When she tells them about Cris’s interview and how she hopes that other singers will be leery of signing on with Charly, Wendy shares that she has a friend that can make the interview go viral; so Yameli agrees to send her the recording, then leaves.

REINA-SOY
Ep 45: Part 2 A Denied Love Still Hurts

Vanessa shows up at Erick’s place and tells him that she broke up with Ruko…he’s the type of person she doesn’t need in her life. Erick isn’t going to lie, he is really glad since it’s best for Vanessa; she will be fine. He knows she is sad, so he is taking her to a place that will help cheer her up.

At Juanjo’s place, Wendy comments that Juanjo’s studio could be the best studio in Mexico…it’s been his life-long dream and she is sure he could beat out Charly. Juanjo clarifies that his dream is to make good music, not compete with Charly. Wendy has put on her thinking cap again and suggests that she quit her job so that she can help Juanjo at his studio. Juanjo gets his usual deer in the headlights look and agrees. He goes off to work after inviting Wendy to lunch. Wendy smiles with satisfaction that she will be like gum on Juanjo.

Charly is in his office and leaves a message for Erick. He tells him to think about his offer to come to Luxor…and he loves him. Yameli enters and shows Charly the video of Cris’s interview. After he has a fit and wonders what Zaria has against him and how she is allowed to publish those videos, Yameli suggests that Charly still likes Zaria since he keeps talking about her. Charly is flattered that she is jealous and kisses her, but they are interrupted by Axel who tells Charly that Diana is asking to talk to him. After they all go to Diana’s office, Diana shows Charly how Charly came out looking good despite Zaria’s interview…his fans are still supporting him and criticizing Zaria and Cris. Diana then gets a call from Barbosa who is inviting Charly to his program. Charly thinks it’s great and tells Axel that they came out winning; so they leave Diana’s office doing some kind of funky rope-pulling move. Once alone, Diana asks Yameli what Charly talked to her about the previous night. Yameli replies that he just asked her about the concert earnings. When Diana shows Yameli the pictures Restrepo sent her and how he hasn’t found anything…she wonders if she should even continue with the PI. Yameli urges her not to give up…if she senses something, she should follow her intuition.

Charly and Axel are back at Charly’s office. Charly gives Axel the finance reports Mora has “fixed.” He wants Axel to go get Diana’s signature, but Axel worries that Diana might notice the inflated numbers…he doesn’t want to end up in jail. Charly convinces him that Diana won’t notice anything…and besides, Axel doesn’t want to be poor; so Axel goes off to get the signatures. On his way to Diana’s office, Axel bumps into Yameli and looks guilty as heck, but Yameli goes on her way. Axel takes the reports to Diana who gives them a brief look and signs them. She does, however, keep a copy.

Charlie is texting Caro when Yameli enters and asks why he is smiling. He tells her that he is responding to his fans. When she asks what he did after he left his mother’s house, Charly replies that he went home alone…and since he was alone and sad because of the situation with Vanessa, he jumped into bed and fell asleep. He was also sad because she left him like a dog without an owner…things would have been very different if she had gone home with him. As they kiss, Carolina calls and reminds Charly that they have a meeting with Diana and her lawyer. She advises that he try to keep things civil, but Charly thinks that it’s Diana who loses control…but he can control Diana so well that Caro will be surprised and will have to give Charly a nice reward.

Erick and Vanessa are about to play pool when Irma and Serg arrive. Vanessa questions if Erick invited them, so Erick tells her that they just happened to be there. When Erick tells Irma and Serg that they are there to have fun since Vanessa broke up with Ruco, Serg contains his smile as he tells her that it’s too bad and he is very sorry. Irma seconds the thought, but Vanessa tells them that if they were actors they would die of hunger. They get into teams to play.

Ep 45: Part 3 A Denied Love Still Hurts

Juanjo calls Yameli and invites her to lunch with him and Wendy. When Yameli hesitates to answer, Juanjo takes note, so Yameli explains that she has been thinking of her family lately. Juanjo thinks that would be more reason to be together…err…for all of them to be together. Yameli agrees, but will go on her own. Afterwards, Yameli recalls Charly seducing her when they were young and telling her that he would have no future without her . After she recalls the more recent night when she slept with Charly, she thinks of the pictures of Charly and Carolina.

Diana is in her office when Charly goes in to remind Diana about their meeting with their attorneys. She is surprised when Charly invites her to lunch, but agrees to go with him.

At the pool hall, Irma wishes Vanessa weren’t so sad. When she comments that Ruco didn’t seem to be such a great guy, Vanessa tells her that what is more upsetting is that everyone tried to warn her, but she refused to listen. Erick overhears as Irma tells Vanessa that everyone makes mistakes; Eric wonders if Irma has made many mistakes. After Irma admits to making a few, she asks Erick if he hasn’t made mistakes. Vanessa laughs since Erick hasn’t had much experience, but Erick explains that it’s not easy to find a person who he can really connect to. He then changes the subject and tells Vanessa that she should go live with him and Lidia. After Vanessa is relieved and more than happy to do that, Irma tells them that she has to leave to go meet with Juanjo; so Erick offers to accompany her. Serg offers to accompany Vanesa home so that she won’t have to go alone.

At La Pecera, Yameli tells Wendy and Juanjo that Charly has another broad. When Wendy wonders if Yameli is upset about it, Yameli explains that she is upset because if Charly is with another woman, the PI won’t be able to catch him doing any of his crooked stuff. Wendy questions why Yameli thinks that Charly is involved in something crooked, Juanjo explains that Charly came up with $200,000 from one day to the next. When Wendy suggests that they can check the general balance and compare the costs of the concert to the earnings. Yameli doesn’t have access to the finance reports; so Juanjo suggests that she ask Diana to help her with that. Wendy then adds that the reports have to show the businesses…and if a business is inflating costs, it needs to be investigated. After Yameli rushes off to go check the reports, Wendy comments to Juanjo that Yameli is still in love with Charly…she knows by the way Yameli looked when she talked about Charly and those emotions are hard to hide (just like Juanjo’s feelings for Yameli are hard to hide).

Charly and Diana are having lunch. As Charly is giving Diana a lot of BS about possibly getting back together, Lidia calls Charly and tells him that Vanessa is there with her…she broke up with her boyfriend. Charly relays the message to Diana and points out that things a working out little by little. Diana looks at him as if questioning whether she should raise her hopes. When Charly invites her to go with him to see Vanessa after they meet with the lawyers, Diana smiles and is hooked.

Yameli arrives at Luxor. When she is told that Diana left with Charly, Yameli quickly goes to Diana’s office and looks for the finance reports and takes pictures when she finds them. Right after she finishes, Axel enters and asks what she is doing. Yameli responds by questioning Axel’s suspicions about her…if Axel so wishes, they can both go talk to Charly and Diana and tell them that Axel has doubts about her. Axel assures her that there is nothing wrong; he was just asking what she was doing there. After he leaves, Yameli has a hard time closing the files on Diana’s computer.

Ep 45: Part 4 A Denied Love Still Hurts

At Lidia’s house, Vanessa looks at the numerous calls and text messages that Ruko has left her. After she thinks about it, she texts him back and tell shim to stop bothering her; they are finished forever and she wants him to leave her in peace.

Diana returns to her office to find Yameli waiting for her. After she agrees to send her the reports on the concert, Yameli notices that Diana looks happy; so Diana explains that Charly invited her to lunch and she felt that connection that they had always had. He didn’t really say anything, but she has a feeling. They are still going to meet with the lawyers, but Diana thinks it’s just a formality and is hoping for a reconciliation. After Diana giggles like a high school girl who is hoping to get a date with the football quarterback, she walks out and Yameli is disgusted with the stupidity of it all.

Diana goes to greet her lawyer and tells him that there is a possibility that she and Charly will get back together. After she giggles again, she adds that she isn’t sure….they should wait to see what happens…(as her little bubble rises up high)

REINA

Sensational Rgv Chick. Every word, expression, nuance and event was captured perfectly
.
One of the most pivotal episodes in some time.

As I watched Yameli’s devastated countenance, a mixture of raw pain, anger and embarrassment, the truth I hadn’t wanted to admit was playing out in mind numbing reality.

“Wendy comments to Juanjo that Yameli is still in love with Charly…she knows by the way Yameli looked when she talked about Charly and those emotions are hard to hide (just like Juanjo’s feelings for Yameli are hard to hide)”. Likening the situation to Juanjo was inspired Rgv Chick.

So, everything has changed and yet nothing has changed. The trio of “friends” is back to where they started – Yameli loving Charly, Juanjo loving Yameli and Charly loving no one.

For a little levity, thought “funky rope-pulling move” and “Vanessa tells them that if they were actors they would die of hunger” were excellent.

I have gravely underestimated Wendy. While there may be a part of her that genuinely wants to assist, I’m not comfortable that is actually the case. Although “Juanjo gets his usual deer in the headlights look and agrees” after she asks, how could he have said no? Play the friendship card as she and “Panda” are a package deal, act and sound earnest and caring were keys. Insinuate yourself in the mix so you can be part of the scheme. Pretty brilliant.

“Wendy smiles with satisfaction that she will be like gum on Juanjo”. Yes, keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

I was surprised how badly I felt for Diana as well. Smart woman but oh so gullible. How on earth does Charly manage to be so desired by these amazing women??

This bears repeating in its entirety “ Diana thinks it’s just a formality and is hoping for a reconciliation. After Diana giggles like a high school girl who is hoping to get a date with the football quarterback, she walks out and Yameli is disgusted with the stupidity of it all”. Incredible.

The hammer will fall “(as her little bubble rises up high)”.

Should be sleeping but couldn’t wait to read this – in awe of your summary Rgv Chick. Thank you, thank you.

RGV Chick: I wouldn't be shocked if Wendy blurts out Yameli is alive & telling Charly, who will tell his drug lord Uncle.

What a perfect title, Rgv Chick. The thrust of the whole episode was encapsulated in those words. My newspaper editor (from decades and decades ago) would have been very happy with your "headline". Because it would have made one want to read more. Well done.

And you made me laugh with this one:

Wendy smiles with satisfaction that she will be like gum on Juanjo.

I don't blame Wendy for trying to hold on to her relationship at all costs. After all, we see how Yameli, in spite of all she knows about Charly, still can't overcome her love for him. As the song goes, The First Cut Goes the Deepest and he was her first and perhaps only love. He's still in her heart and still deep in her bones, no matter how much she wants vengeance. Hatred is not the opposite of Love. Indifference is. And our poor Yameli is far from indifferent.

Loved the little rope-pulling numerito Charly and Axel did. The physical comedy in this is great fun. As was the pretend elevator dropping move Charly pulled off while charming Diana into a friendly lunch with him. We see the toxic power of this man's charisma. Hard to resist. Even for the viewer. I know the character, as written, is basically a cold-hearted killer. But I forget that when he's being charming and funny.....and drop-dead gorgeous.

The scene I found saddest was with Charly and Axel when he was pressuring the latter to sign off on financial records that Axel knew were fudged. When he hesitates, Charly reminds him that he works for him and forces Axel to admit that he has no other marketable skills but to be Charly's shill. Bad enough that he pushes Axel around but then he humiliates him also. Charly is a user. But Axel, in some ways, is as smitten as Diana and Yameli. Charly always gets what he wants from him, without giving anything back.

Love the chemistry between Erick and Irma la Huracán. This incipient romance is the best part of the story at the moment. Hopeful and sweet. As opposed to everything else that is going on.

Thanks so much for these recaps and for keeping this patio going. Great story and even better recounting amiga mia. Muchas gracias.

Oh Judy, your "He's still in her heart and still deep in her bones, no matter how much she wants vengeance. Hatred is not the opposite of Love. Indifference is. And our poor Yameli is far from indifferent" made my eyes mist.

There is some sort of connection between Axel and Yameli - humiliation at the least. I am hoping that he won't be a casualty here but that she might actually help him launch a successful career. He has the talent but certainly no break in life as he does Charly's hurtful bidding.

Ah Diana, I can see you like Axel as much as I do. First of all, have to admit I just like the actor. Always have from the first. And as for the character he plays in this one--there is something vulnerable and gentle in his manner, in spite of all the macho boasting and flirting etc. that goes on. I am hoping that eventually Yameli and Juanjo will bring him in as another singer and artist, since we did see him singing one of his own compositions in the car.

This story becomes richer in nuance as it develops. I am really enjoying it tremendously as well as our wonderful Patio with you, Rgv Chick, Susanlynn and Lucio. Wish it had a bigger audience. The production is fabulous and 8 pm is a perfect viewing time for this early-to-bed-early-to-rise gal.

But Summer is also a time for travel and spending time outdoors. Still, this is an unusually good story and deserves a solid following.

Thank you, Rgv Chick. Great title and great recap of the excellent episode.

I was surprised by Yamelí's reaction to Charly's infidelity. She knew what to expect from Charly. Rgv Chick, Diana and JudyB gave the explanation of what's behind it, but I still shake my head.

Yamelí must have the same feeling as I about what is happening with Diana. She just can't believe it. "As her little bubble rises up high" - exactly. She is going to crush again. And signing the money-laundering financial reports is sure to come back to bite her. This looks like Yamelí's story all over again. Charly will just set Diana up, put her in jail and voila, problem solved.

Wendy is not giving up without a fight. Of course her primary motivation is not to help Yamelí, but to control Yamelí-Juanjo interaction. I doubt she is going to keep Juanjo, though.

This show has built the relationships that are very complex. Juanjo-Yamelí-Charly,
Wendy-Juanjo-Yameli, Yamelí-Charly-Diana, just Yamelí-Charly. And I imagine it will become more complex when Eric's paternity is discovered.

Diana and JudyB, how pleasant it is to read your thoughts and insights. I always look forward to what you have to say, and I am never disappointed.

Diana, "As I watched Yameli’s devastated countenance, a mixture of raw pain, anger and embarrassment, the truth I hadn’t wanted to admit was playing out in mind numbing reality." Beautifully stated! The reality of what she really feels hit her hard; many times our anger towards others is really a transference of anger toward ourselves for being so trusting and gullible. I think that if Yameli could forgive herself for "allowing herself" to be used and manipulated by others, she just might find the road to forgiveness of others and move on with her own life.

JudyB, Diana already noted this, bu it just have to do it again, "He's still in her heart and still deep in her bones, no matter how much she wants vengeance. Hatred is not the opposite of Love. Indifference is. And our poor Yameli is far from indifferent." as well as "We see the toxic power of this man's charisma." Your insight is impeccable; what a wonderful gift to all of us.

And JudyB, thank you for bringing up Eric and Irma. I was trying to think of which couple will outshine the protags (as has been the case in so many of the more current TNS), and you have nailed it.

In regards to Axel, I keep wondering what happened to him. In his younger days, he seemed so confident and much more assertive. I was just waiting for him to respond that he could sing when Charly asked him what else he could do, but he remained silent. I'm sure he at least thought it. The connection between Axel and Yameli is an engima to me. He knows something is up with Yameli, yet everytime she calls him on it, he backs down...what is he afraid of? Or does he just fear confrontations?

Lucio, I'm late in responding, but I think you make a good point, Charly would have crushed Erick without even blinking an eye. Erick wants his brother's acceptance so much; you can see how pained he is when Charly proves how wrong he is to trust him.

Thank you, Lucio, JudyB, and Diana for sharing your wisdom and time. Has anyone heard from Susanlynn? I haven't "seen" her in a couple of days.

Lucio, this had not occurred to me (re: Diana): "And signing the money-laundering financial reports is sure to come back to bite her. This looks like Yamelí's story all over again. Charly will just set Diana up, put her in jail and voila, problem solved." Thanks for pointing that out; Charly has no scruples or heart...that could very well be his plan.

Hi all. I have been traveling. Family times with our 4 grandgirls and daughters. It warms my heart to be missed by my cyberfriends.

REINA

Good Sunday afternoon all.

Yes, Lucio, very interesting and astute comment on Charly framing Diana. He wouldn't blink, would he??

I do think he loves Vanesa. And Lidia. But in a limited way as that is all he is capable of. He loves no one more than himself.

Susanlynn, glad you are back. Looking forward to you commenting again soon.
