As some of you know, Juanita and I put up labels with each page. These labels are so future followers of recaps can find them, sometimes years later. The label for El Final del Paraíso is sin-senos4, since it's the 4th season of the novela. I'm not watching this one, but I peek at the recaps, and it sounds like lots is happening. You may want to put that label at the top of each comment/recap for people who might be searching for it online in the future.

I'll put up a recap for Preso No. 1 later tonight.

el Final del Paraiso

the plan is to lure CataG out with the promise on returning Mariana and Valeria, but this time they want him to kill CataG for sure, Diabla and the Hand give each other that look.

the Japo Capo has a surprise, agent Paola is waiting in his plane in her undies having prepago flashbacks, he's a business man and wants more, she'll give him info but she wants Titi dead, like lowering him into a barrel of acid, wasn't he the one hitting on Mari, yep, he's ok with that.

CataG is off tossing rocks and having a breakdown, the mission has not gone well (and I'm trying to remember one that has).

Sal gives Hilda a call, he's working on the fashion show but doesn't think they should meet till it's over, Calvo and all, so he's arranged for Joana to help (who looks about as helpful as a rock with a smile) turns out she has a crush on Sal, calls her fashion magazine buddy Mateos with a scoop on Hilda (a nobody) and her prepago daughter.

Carlos comes home and spills on Jota, instantly regrets it because everyone forgets about him.

Natalia has a lead on the Japo, they rush to a hanger at a small strip, the only guy around didn't see/hear nothing, CG reads his body language and has boy Mike arrest him, it's a matter of national security.

Santi's plan is coming together, are you sure we won't all die?, even prison doc Lugo wants to call it off.

Mari gets tough, teaching Titi how to be a narco, slaps him, he is being unbelievably cool, and I remember Diabla telling the Hand that he didn't get where he is by his good looks.

Titi's other job is to kill the presidential candidate, hmm, this is Alfonso who Soraya hooked up with last season (it's been 2 years and he's still not president, why worry)

Jota claims his innocence, tells chief Mora to find Paola, she knows what happened.

the Hand calls the other candidate whose evil looking wife has politician written all over her smile, tells him the other guy is a dead man.

at the vacant casino in the desert hideout, Titi makes the call to CataG, speaker phone, let's Valeria whine about the constant beatings, quiet laughs all around.

PRESO NO. 1 – LUNES – Parte 1 de 2

From Friday, we see Crazy Joe again trying to convince Sara to run away with him. We see Carmelo tell Toño about Sara not being his daughter. Isabel is going through some file boxes and discovers a document that says her mother was raped. Acting Pres. Rivas sends a letter to El Secretario de la Gobernación (Chief of Staff) and to the prison.

Poor Carmelo Alvarado has no idea what’s going on. My last night, he asks.

Bautista suggests to Islas that they offer Tuerto a deal. Piña proposes the deal, and Tuerto refuses to say his brother killed Ramsés and says he knows it’s not even his idea. Piña tells him the deal would benefit Carmelo because his brother would live.

Sara is talking to her Auntie Chinta, griping about the gringo when Isabel calls, crying, saying how much she loves her.

Sara tells her mother about the call, and Caro goes to talk with her youngest. Isa blurts out that Sara is the daughter of Ramsés Cota. Caro tries shushing her and says that even she herself doesn’t know nor want to know. [Come on, Isabel, Sara is still your sister – you share a mother no matter what.]

Acting Pres. Rivas doesn’t want to take a call from Pedro Islas.

Piña has read the letter sent to the prison and is talking on the phone with Rivas. “Don’t you think the bosses should know about this?” Rivas to Piña: “The President of the Republic is speaking; I don’t have bosses!"

Carmelo has been brought to a rather large cell. Wow, Piña makes a joke. When Carmelo muses about who built it, Piña says that, if Porfirio Díaz had built it, it would have fallen down. They discuss some former president who Carmelo says was a good man, but who wanted to bring back the death penalty to Mexico. Piña, back to being sadistic, says that this cell was intended for the cell in which to await execution.

Islas shows up at Los Pinos and calls someone. I think it’s Rivas’ sneaky daughter. He gets into the presidential residence. Piña calls to tell him Carmelo is being transferred.

We don’t see what Tuerto tells Piña when he returns for an answer.

At El Plural lots of busy bees are preparing that day’s edition. Diana comes to see Ricardo Montero. He tells her that the article by Carolina Arteaga, which he hands her, will be the front page. Before she leaves, he tells her that he knows her mother. He met her in Las Islas Marías.

And, here we are in that very place. Some women are doing some chores around a campfire. One is Clara and the other Chole. Chole reads a letter aloud saying that Clara cannot receive visitors. Clara says: “They’ll never let me see my daughter.”

Ricardo tells Diana that Don Belisario adored her father. Diana replies that her mother and she herself adored him. She calls Belisario names. And then goes on to ask Ricardo to talk to the Acting Pres. About moving her mother.

Carolina tells Isabel that she only had to see Sara and Carmelo together to know that they are father and daughter. And she asks her not to breathe a word of this. Caro realizes she’ll have to tell Sara now.

Arrogant jerk Pedro Islas has ensconced himself in Los Pinos and wants to know where Benito Rivas is sending Carmelo. He warns Rivas to be careful. Benito tells him he hasn’t decided yet. Then he gets up to leave. When Islas isn’t happy to be left, Benito tells him that’s what happens when you come to see the President without an appointment.

Miranda tells Carolina that she’s worried. It’s been sort of a nightmare since she and Carmelo were married. She’s worried “they” will kill him.

PRESO NO. 1 – LUNES – Parte 2 de 2

Rupert (who I believe is the gringo we saw early on at the meeting in the private jet) tells Guido over the phone that it would be a world-wide scandal if Carmelo were killed. He's not to be killed, and that’s an order. Guido shouts that no one gives him orders. He tells Pedro to have him killed.

Adán and Eva are deciphering some map that appears to lead from the prison. We then see Islas and Colonel Mayorga talking in the back of a car. Islas doesn’t want the details but says that tomorrow they’ll be finished with “him”.

Carolina, Sara, and Isabel try to pressure Benito Rivas to tell them where they’re taking Carmelo. He tells them the move is already in progress.

Carmelo is put into a van between two guards. The scene then switches to two large black SUV’s and some commando type guys checking out their machine guns. They drive off, masked.

Adán and Eva pack up. They’re sure that the guys they’ve spotted can’t be guards; there’s too many.

Mayorga is in a helicopter giving orders to the guys in the black SUV’s below. With an evil half smile, he tells them: Nos vamos de caza y la presa tiene que morir. (We’re going hunting, and the prey has to die.)

We see the prison van go into a long tunnel. And we also see Adán and Eva watching from some overpass. The van comes out of the tunnel, is trapped by the two black SUV’s and riddled with bullets. Carmelo, of course, is not inside; but the two guards are killed. Later Eva tells Adán that they lost four guys.

Pres. Rivas is explaining to Paco and Emanuel what happened. They ask why it couldn't have been a less “sordid” place. Rivas tells them that it’s better than it was before. The prisoners sort of get along. And, if he hadn’t done what he did, they’d be crying over Carmelo’s death.

We now see what happened. The prison van goes into the tunnel. One of the guards uncuffs Carmelo. He thinks they’re going to kill him. They tell him this is for his own good and tell him to get in to the vehicle that’s pulled alongside.

Islas has been listening in on the operation and screams into his device: “Where is Alvarado?” Quick camera cut to said Alvarado looking out the window of a small plane. He remembers…

Back to his youth, he and Caro have swum to some beach. [I think it’s Islas Marías at first and they’re investigating; but that doesn’t appear to be the case.] Apparently our hero is a lousy swimmer and she had to save him. She tells him she’s pregnant (with Isa).

Paco is telling Carmelo’s family at breakfast what happened. Sara is pretty snarky throughout this episode. Emanuel tries to convince them that this prison is not a bad place. Everyone works. No cells, No bars.

Mayorga comes to see Islas, Juanito, and Pia. Islas insults him and tells him he should drive the car for Juanito. Then he storms out.

Carmelo has made a friend of the young man who was in the escape vehicle and is now on the plane. He says he’s a recovering addict and is learning how good life can be.

Juanito tells Mayorga that he was the one who called him. Mayorga is about to leave in disgust when Pia whispers something in his ear and his eyes widen. Hmm.

"LA DONA 2":

Will some of the cast members from "LA Dona" be back ?

Many thanks, novelera, for another excellent recap.

Though the bad guys were true to form, the person I was most annoyed with last night was Isabel. I'm glad you made your "come on, Isabel," comment. I suspect I would have been ruder. As you say, she and Sara have the same mother. And they've been raised and loved by the same father. So where does she come off thinking that Sara is not her sister? That seemed over-the-top stupid. And when Caro says she doesn't want Sara to be told, because she doesn't want to ruin Sara's life, Isabel whines, "What about my life?" Gimme a break!

The assassination attempt puzzled me in several ways. I think there were four guards in the van carrying Carmelo, two in the back with him and two up front. They apparently all knew about the switch that was about to take place, and they must have realized that they'd be in danger. But none of them seems to have made any attempt to fire back--they just let themselves be killed?? At first, I was also confused because someone reported back to Mayorga that the van was empty. But of course there was no time for the guards to get away, so I guess "empty" simply meant the target wasn't there. And a bit later it was reported that four people were killed--the 4 guards. I was also surprised because I expected that the van would be somewhat bullet-proof (like the vehicle Carlos shot at in an earlier episode), and at first I assumed that the bullets weren't penetrating the windows or the rest of the van. But I guess that wasn't the case.

So is Rupert "Roberto"? I thought I heard that name, not Rupert, but I could find no Roberto listed in the list of characters. Be that as it may, even incapacitated, Guido is more dangerous than just about anyone else. Rupert/Roberto/Mr. Voice from Nowhere tells Guido that Carmelo must remain alive, and then Guido gives the order to kill Carmelo.

Oh no. Are we now going to have an episode where Carmelo (who says to Caro in the flashback that he doesn't want to tell his child that he doesn't know how to swim) tries to escape from Islas Marias by going through the shark-infested waters, where he'd be in danger not just from the sharks but from his incompetence as a swimmer?

It will be interesting to learn what Pia whispers in Mayorga's ear. At the moment, I can't even manage a guess.

"PRESO":

Juanita: At this point, I doubt Carmelo will ever get the Presidency back with all of his enemies itching to loot the entire country of it's $$$$.

preso

Juanita, I heard Ruperto and remembered it being said sarcastically by Guido. It wasn't until the episode was over and I was typing the recap that I presumed that that was the guy (CIA? US State Dept?) who was in on getting Carmelo out of office. I had to look up his name in the show on IMDB. They wanted Carmelo, who would be standing up to them in favor of the people of Mexico, out of office and in prison for fraud. If murdered, it could somehow blow back on them as, rightly, killing a man not yet convicted of anything and freely elected by the people would be a total disaster. Everyone now knows about the CIA involvement in the death of Salvador Allende.

Preso

thanks so much novelera, that was a very nice recap!

interesting idea that Pedro called the daughter at the presidential digs to get in.

interesting scene where Pina leads Carmelo to believe that the cell he is in is death row, also loved the talk of the death penalty being illegal in Mexico, Carmelo's point of view, you shouldn't punish a crime with another crime.

and Rivas' justification on moving Carmelo, that he was getting a following and stirring up even more trouble in that prison.

so the girls met with Rivas in the morning (sounded like Miranda was also invited but didn't want to go) and the guys met later about the trial and the new evidence Miranda found, Rivas saying if had seen this when he was attorney general, he wouldn't have gone along, and I guess this is where he disclosed Carmelo's new location, did they say the prisoners also had internet?

loved the talk between Carmelo and the young man, so there is a moral to this story.

hmm, I'm worried that Pia whispered Carmelo's new location to Mayorga.

preso

Thanks, novelera, for your response. I'm sure you're right about Rupert. I thought I heard Roberto, but if I had a dollar for every word or name I've misheard, I'd be able to afford a much better sound system. :-)

preso

Thanks for the excellent comments, Juanita and deb.

I based my theory on Islas having gotten into Los Pinos via Benito's daughter on, when he showed up and was told the POMR (President of the Mexican Republic) couldn't see him, he put his phone to his ear and called someone, addressing that person as niña.

I hadn't thought of Pia knowing Carmelo's new location. It's possible, of course, but I was thinking along the lines of Pia and Juanito figuring out a way to get his father out of the way so that she doesn't have to go to that island and Juanito is rid of a father who appears to hate him.

Preso

I guess Roberto and Ruperto are interchangeable, I went back and they are using Ruperto in the Spanish caps and Roberto in the English.

preso

Yes, deb, after I posted my comment, I thought about how similar Ruperto and Roberto sound. I wasn't looking at captions when I heard the name, but I heard what sounded to me like "Roberto." I didn't know who that was, so I wrote it down and later looked at the list of characters. I couldn't find any character named Roberto, but these lists are often incomplete, and I didn't think more about it until I read novelera's recap.

"PRESO"

Novelera: The Salvador Allende reference is SPOT ON.

Deb: What's Pia's angle in all of this ? What's her benefit on giving Mayorga the new location of Carmelo ?

Preso No. 1 - Martes - Capítulo 21 - Parte 1 de 3

As the episode opens, we see Carmelo arrive at the penitentiary at Islas Marias. He is put in handcuffs and chains before getting off the plane. Meeting him is Captain Segovia, who is in command of the penitentiary.

The scene shifts to Mexico City. President Benito Rivas Macin meets with Col. Dosal, who assures Benito that Caro and her family are in good hands, his most trustworthy men are guarding them. He also gives Benito an update on the assault the day before on the van carrying Carmelo. The people involved did not want to free Carmelo, nor to kidnap him; the condition of the van indicates that they wanted to kill him. Benito says "he's safe for now." [Why didn't he at least say "knock on wood"?]

Somehow, Caro has learned that the person in charge at Islas Marias, Captain Segovia, is a maniac. She tells Paco (Francisco) and Emanuel that she fears Carmelo has been moved from one horrific situation to another.

Caro, accompanied by two security guards, goes shopping at a grocery store she has shopped at many times in the past. The employees are very happy to see her. She asks the two security guys to wait for her outside. They have orders not to leave her side. She assures them that the people at the grocery know her and are friendly. She then assures the guards that she'll talk to their boss and explain everything, so they won't get in trouble for leaving her. They reluctantly agree to leave. She buys some papayas and mangos. Also behind the counter is Adan, I think. She says Segovia is crazy, and we have to get Carmelo out of there. She asks whether she can count on him. Yes.

Walking along the shore at Islas Marias, Carmelo meets a woman who comes up to him and starts talking. He asks her to call him Carmelo. She tells him her name is Clara, but she doesn't want him to ask her anything about herself. She says she knows that he's conceited, because he thinks everyone knows all about him. She advises him to live the island life, and to forget about himself. Watching them from afar is Captain Segovia.

Paco and Emanuel are looking at information on the computer about Bernardo Linares, the judge who will preside over Carmelo's trial. Apparently he has a reputation for being incorruptible. Benito apparently went to some trouble to get him assigned to the case.

Also looking at information about Judge Linares are Pedro Islas, his stroke friend, Guido, and Bautista. Suddenly Guido asks Bautista to wait outside. Once he's gone, Pedro says "I know you want to get rid of the judge, but...." Guide says he'd like to see Carmelo die of old age on Islas Marias. He feels that Joe Moreno, the gringo, can convince the incorruptible judge....

We then see Joe/Carlos/Watermelon Man. He seems to be inside the judge's office. There are photos of his family and diplomas on the wall. Joe takes a photo of one of the photos of the judge with his grandchildren. I think it's the same photo that, later in the episode, the judge says he especially likes.

Caro meets Ricardo Montero at a cafe. He tells her that the gringo wasn't involved in the assault on the van. Mayorga was coordinating everything from the helicopter. They agree that they need to get protection for the judge and his family, though Caro says she's still worried about the gringo. She orders a double tequila. Either before or after she orders it, she sees Miranda at the cafe. She asks Ricardo whether they can leave. They do. [And the waiter gets stuck paying for the tequila?] Miranda sees them leave.

Preso No. 1 - Martes - Capítulo 21 - Parte 2 de 3

The judge receives a call supposedly from the goalie (portero) of a soccer team. Turns out it's from Benito's office, arranging for a meeting. The two of them are old friends and probably at one time soccer teammates. The judge is at first reluctant to comment on the case, claiming he can't say anything. Yes you can, replies Benito. Give me a hint. I need to know. The judge says that President Alvarado should never have been arrested. The documentation the judge has seen is very much in his favor. Nothing can be done except the immediate release of Carmelo Alvarado.

Benito notes that as soon as he's exonerated, Carmelo can resume the presidency. The judge agrees, but points out that that's why the file is so contaminated. Benito: It's to delay the verdict. Judge: If the date passes, even if he's exonerated, I'll have to call for a new election. The constitution demands it. The law is the law. Benito: Yes, the law is the law, but justice is sometimes something different. Benito worries that if the judge's thinking is leaked.... The judge assures him that that won't happen. [That's telenovela code for "of course it will"]. The judge points out that the trial could result in accusations against Benito, who was District Attorney when Carmelo was arrested. Benito replies that he's aware of this, and he's prepared to pay for what he did.

Bautista is sitting somewhere. A young woman named Dalia approaches and hands him a portfolio of some sort. Bautista reaches for his wallet to pay her. She doesn't want to accept any money. "We had a deal," says Bautista. "No, it was extortion," replies Dalia. Bautista says he hopes she's not having second thoughts. That could be very dangerous for her. [I have no idea who Dalia is nor what the portfolio contains. But it can't be good.]

Carmelo and Carla talk. She tells him he should worry about himself and get used to being here. He tells her it would help if she were his friend. As they're shaking hands on this, Captain Segovia appears. He starts singing what sounds like a patriotic song. Huh? He tells Carla to leave. Once she's gone, Carmelo asks whether she's his wife. "Until death," replies Segovia, adding "hers, not mine." He asks Carmelo what he would like to do at Islas Marias. "Teach history," replies Carmelo. Don't you know anything else? Segovia asks. Carmelo replies, "I know gardening. How to wash dishes. How to be president." None of that seems at all useful to Segovia. He decides perhaps the history classes are best. He then cautions Carmelo that Islas Marias is no resort, it's a penitentiary. There must be respect for authority. Discipline. "You can go on walks, swim in the ocean." Carmelo replies that he doesn't know how to swim. [Viewerville can see where this is likely to lead. Ugh.] Segovia informs him that the most important rule is not to mess with another person's wife (mujer ajena). I understand, says Carmelo.

After leaving the cafe, Caro and Ricardo go back to his place. He asks her whether she'd like a tequila. No. Water? Warm milk? A kiss? She stares at him. Suddenly he moves over and kisses her. To calm her nerves. She says that this is what she meant by not wanting confusion. He asks her whether she's in a relationship with Paco. She replies that at one point she was, but it's complicated. She gives him the "it's not you" speech, which he interrupts by kissing her again. She asks him to try to understand, she can't. She's going to leave. She leaves. A few seconds later, there's a knock at the door. Ricardo opens the door and she jumps him. They start removing their clothes. [I was reminded of Manuela and Jonathan in Reina 2].

preso
Preso No. 1 - Martes - Capítulo 21 - Parte 3 de 3

Back in Islas Marias, Carla asks Carmelo what Segovia told him. Carmelo says "I think he's very jealous."

In a flashback from two years ago, Carmelo and Miranda are going to a private celebration party to thank Carmelo's friends and supporters. Miranda asks whether he invited Dagoberto Lazcano. Carmelo says he didn't invite him to the private party. Miranda says she wanted him there. "He put you on TV and started everything. He gave you a huge platform. Also, he introduced us. I don't want him to think I'm ungrateful." Carmelo replies that he has already invited Lazcano to the formal celebration.

The next thing we see is Miranda and Emanuel saying how much they missed each other.

Benito is together with his daughter. He informs her that he may move back home sooner than she expects, but he can't say more. He then asks her whether she remembers what happened in this room (we see again his almost killing himself with a pistol, interrupted at the very last second by his daughter's arrival). In the present, she asks him, "Are you going to free Carmelo?" [I hope he doesn't confide in her. I think her loyalties may lie elsewhere.]

Back at Islas Marias, Carla warns Carmelo to be careful. Carmelo asks whether she came only to warn him. "He's your husband, not your owner. What makes you think that I desire another man's wife?" She again warns him to be careful. "With you?" he asks. End of episode.

Preso

Thanks for the recap, Juanita. Loved your little [asides] and I have to agree.

What was that little tune Capt. Segovia “played” when Carmelo arrived? Plain to see this guy is nuts and dangerous.

Adan and Eva annoy me. She is the one that informed Caro about Segovia. Seems to me they cause more trouble than they prevent.

I wondered why Caro looked so upset when she first saw Miranda and Emanuel at the restaurant. I can understand when she overheard two patrons gossiping about a Miranda/Carmelo/Caro love triangle. Later we see Miranda and Emanuel have resumed their affair. Is Caro questioning their loyalty to Carmelo? Should we?

Francisco is keeping tabs on Caro—who’s at lunch with you? Uh, oh. She hangs up on him.

Wow. Caro tells Montero she had, didn’t have, has, doesn't have a “relationship” with Francisco? It’s complicated all right. Then she jumps into the sack with Montero. Hey, she’s free to do what she wants. Let’s blame the tequila.

Well, so much for a fair trial for Carmelo. The incorruptible Linares will get an offer he can’t refuse. If Crazy Joe harms those children... I think Dalia was one of Judge Linares’ clerks. She might be handing over the info on Carmelo. I wonder what Bautista has over her?

My thought: Clara’s done her research and possibly sees Carmelo as a potential ticket to freedom or at least a reunion with her daughter.

preso

Thanks so much, Juanita. Fantastic, thorough recap and I loved your asides. Dondi beat me to the punch about Dalia being the judge's clerk.

I sort of get escalofrios (shivers) when I see Crazy Joe planning some dastardly deed against innocent people.

Yes, it was a bit odd that Caro reacted so strongly to seeing Miranda and Emanuel having lunch together. Viewerville has seen the reality of their relationship, but wouldn't Caro, who now trusts Miranda enough to invite her to live with her family, just think: hey they're having a meal together and walk over to say hi?

I was gobsmacked that Clara, who is Diana's mother and a prisoner on Islas Marias, actually is married to the nutcase. Or maybe he just says she's his wife.

So the momentary bubble of hope about the honest judge is about to be burst.

preso

Thanks very much, dondi356 and novelera, for your insightful and helpful comments.

dondi, I think you're right about Dalia's being one of the judge's clerks, and that she's handing over info about the upcoming trial and perhaps the judge's view of things. What surprises me is that Bautista and the Bad Guys (sounds like a rock group) were able to get to her so quickly.

I don't know what the song was that Crazy Capt. Segovia started to sing. I think the lyrics mentioned Mexico, but I was too stunned by his bursting into song to pay attention to the words. And yes, it definitely marked him as BSC.

I'd like to be able to trust Miranda, but I can't forget that when Emanuel told her about the upcoming attempt to break Carmelo out of jail, she immediately told Mayorga. So no, I don't trust her.

Loved your "let's blame the tequila"!

novelera, I too found Caro's response to seeing Miranda and Emanuel rather strange, for the reasons you said.

I don't know whether Clara is really married to BSC Segovia and, if so, whether he forced her to do so. Regardless of her official marital status, I suspect she wants to stay on his less crazy side (I doubt he has a "good side").

And yes, it looks as if the "momentary bubble of hope" is about to be burst. I guess the writers ran out of ideas for interesting ways to torment Carmelo in San Buenaventura and decided viewers would welcome the change of scenery and of torments. Sigh. I'd welcome a change of writers.

preso

A couple of things I was thinking about. We've already mentioned a big difference about Preso in that the galán was unfaithful to his wife.

And now we see that the female protagonist has jumped into bed, and enthusiastically, with someone other than the man she's supposedly loved since they were in their 20's.

These seem like big changes to clichéd plots of star-crossed lovers who never want anyone else in their beds.

El Final del Paraiso

Titi and Catagrande make a deal. Titi will be in contact with the details.

Calvo makes a video with Albeirito to send to Daddy Albeiro. He uses insults, guilt and threats to the kid to coerce Albeiro. Calvo says he’s a good person and he’s going to give Albeiro another chance to comply. Remember your lives are in my hands. Convince Hilda that I’m the one for her. Truly despicable.

Prison plans: Dr. Lugo is having second thoughts. Grandpa Acevedo has threatened him. At least Santi’s prison buddies are willing to get their hands dirty to help him on his revenge tour. Santi says no but the guys say this is a tough business we’re in. Don’t you want to see your wife and children again? Later, the poison is distributed and Lugo’s back on board.

Albeiro gets Calvo’s video and gets confirmation of his diagnosis from the tech on the take. Catamedia and Sandy are there for support. They also discuss Jota’s dilemma and next steps.

Jota in prison proclaiming his innocence and says please tell Albeiro I’m here. Albeiro shows up. Everyone’s making the Paola connection to the case but no one knows where she is.

Presidential debate: Berrio mops the floor with Conde and Black Hand is pissed. He threatens Conde.

Estupidez: Rubens calls out Gatagrande on the mom stuff again. CataG says I’ll get the job done as a mom and an agent. Yeah, right! CataG and Vane have some coffee talk, Jota, Albeiro, Titi. Vane thinks it’s great idea to use Titi to complete the mission. Hmmm…who’s using whom? CataG admits that Rubens is right about the mom stuff…but she can’t help it!

Sin-Seños4 part 2

El Final del Paraiso

Titi is put on notice by Black Hand. You better get the job done. He has a marital spat with Mariana in front of the Babys, Black Hand and Rocco.

Mariana tells Dayana her doubts about Titi when it comes to CataG. Mariana says she’s not giving up the father of her daughter to anyone else. And she will not repeat the Hilda-Albeiro story!

Sandy has asked Gabriel, the old school friend who had a crush on Catamedia, to help with Jota’s case. Sandy is clearly jealous that Gabriel would do anything for CataM and Albeiro is suspicious. What would Nachi say? CataM chooses to be clueless.

Joana tries to convince Sal that Hilda has no talent, not to waste his time. Sal says once you meet her, she will win you over too. I don’t think so.

Hilda and Carlos have a chat about Jota. Hilda convinces him to drop the charges against Jota. It may be too late; the DA wants to pursue the case.

Titi’s teary lament: My princess, what have you done to me. How do I get you out of my heart? How do I get you out of my head? He points his gun at his heart and then says or are you the one who has to die?

I'm wondering how is Titi gonna get out of this one? Will Titi cut another DEA deal or will CataG return to the dark side?

CataG gets a call from Titi: Get ready and don’t do anything stupid or else Mariana dies.

thanks so much Juanita, that was a well done recap!

I wasn't able to watch last night, so just catching up.

if you are bad on the Islas Marias, you go to the "warehouse", (and you don't want to know is how Segovia put it), and if you are good, you get 10 minutes internet time, hmm, and I think Clara went on line to find out who Carmelo is.

interesting that the Judges option was to free Carmelo, but because of complications in the case there would have to be another election, and I'm guessing Carmelo would be at risk till that happened.

Preso

oh yea, Caro drank tequila reposada, I hadn't heard the term, tequila is,

Blanco- freshly distilled spirit without any oak aging at all.
Reposada- aged two months to one year.
Añejo- aged for one-to-three years in oak, this is a sipping tequila.

sin-senos4

Question. How much time has passed since the series before? I am reading the recaps, and I notice, Dondi356, that you mention Calvo interacting with Albeirito. He was an infant in the last one I watched.

Also, you mention Albeiro's diagnosis. Did he get HIV from Yésica?

Sin-Senos4

novelera, I think it’s been a year since season 3. There could have been a time jump, too. I can't remember. Little Albeiro is a toddler now. Seems about right. If anyone has better info, please comment.

Regarding Albeiro’s diagnosis: Viewerville is currently thinking that Albeiro is NOT HIV+. He was led to believe was infected by Yesica and only she has a cure. Albeiro claimed to have used protection with her but Calvo convinced him to get tested saying he was bewitched, out of his mind half the time, so how does he know for sure? We know it’s part of Yesica’s ploy to separate him from Catagrande & Hilda and get him back in her clutches. She set up a plan with Calvo to pay off the lab tech for a positive result. My thoughts are one can never be 100% sure of anything in a novela. I hope he's not infected.

sin-senos4

dondi, I'm playing catch up today, thanks so much!

funny, Mariana's rant about not repeating the Hilda/Albeiro story, Titi is hers, period, did we hear Dayana gulp?

novelera- I seem to remember a 2 year jump at the start, but I dare anyone to get this story straight, after trying to follow CataG's logic I can't even remember what day it is.

to add to dondi,

Diabla definitely is HIV positive, and is supposedly being cured by Black Hand with the X6 drug (because it takes 6 shots), Albeiro remembers using protection when he slept with her, but as Calvo pointed out Al was out of it a lot, his test showed positive but the doctora doing it was paid off by Calvo to make sure it did, but later she insisted he get retested, that was also positive, so it may be true, but...

sin-senos4

Thanks to you both, Dondi365 and deb, for the replies. I bet Albeirito is cute. If he was in last night's maybe I'll take a look on Telemundo's web page.

Whew. Glad to hear it's unlikely Albeiro has HIV. Fabián Ríos is one of my favorites and he's done a good job with the character of Albeiro.

preso

Belated thanks, deb. I had no idea there were so many varieties of tequila.

And the problem faced by the judge is caused by all the "contaminations" in the file. They prevent him from just moving ahead and freeing Carmelo. And, as he said, if they make him delay too long, the deadline will have passed, and he'll have to call for new elections. I suspect that the bad guys think that if there's a new election, they'll figure out a way to have another candidate win.

PRESO – MIÉRCOLES – MICRO-MINI RECAP

Carolina and Ricardo make us wonder if it will happen, but they finally do the deed.

Carmelo asks a guard if he can walk up to a cliff. He sees Clara in her bathing suit. Segovia walks up, but I don’t think he saw Clara. At some point Segovia invites him to dinner.

We see flashbacks to Carmelo’s first day in office, after the oath.

Isabel tells Malena, Caro’s housekeeper, about the long ago rape and feeling Sara is not her sister.

Juanito tells Mayorga that Pedro Islas has ordered him killed. [I think he might be making this up.] Juanito flat out asks him to kill his father.

Benito has Iturbe, the nice young man from the flight to the penal colony with Carmelo, watch Judge Linares every movement.

At the meeting with Juanito and Mayorga, Dosal shows up and sorta arrests Mayorga.

Ew! It looks like Crazy Joe killed another bed partner and took a cell phone picture of the corpse.

Miranda and Caro do…not the walk of shame…but the couch of shame.

Miranda tells Carolina she’s pregnant by Carmelo and that she loves him.

Diana and Ricardo are watching a video in the Newsroom. It shows Evodio being interviewed by Pia. He says that, despite what Carmelo had said about his missing brother, they were in touch all along.

Clara tells Carmelo that she told Segovia that a man had come with whom she’d get off the island, thus the jealousy.

sin-senos4 #12

Jota gets transferred to the prison, a lollipop sucking head guard tosses him into a cell with 2 despicable horny guys hot on the fresh meat, not to worry, Santi and his shadows interrupt the party, Santi wants caught up on his wife CataG, er ex-wife (please don't take Jota with you).

CataM meets with Gabriel (in order to help Jota she has to remind us) Al's not so keen so Sandra tags along, smiles, drinks and cozy selfie's are taken (surely to make their way to Nachi), CataM finally does get a hold of Nachi, spills on the meet but he isn't liking it, seems CataM had a miscarriage and their relationship went on to the rocks, (I'm having trouble remembering when it wasn't). (Hernan is one of the neatest characters this series has created, a girls first innocent love, a trained sicario,,, shave your head, get a tat and a gun, return to CataTown and straighten these peeps out.)

Gabriel's woman boss will personally oversee the Jota case.

Al talks to Carlos, he understands, Carlos talks of the 2 children he has lost, the other Bayron (a sicario and I remember the time he quietly caught Al and Hilda in bed, they talked, gun in hand, good thing Bayron loved his mother), Al asks a favor of Carlos, he will be going away and wants Carlos to look after Hilda, and CataM.

Mateos meets with Joana, has collected the dirt on Hilda, prepago daughter, stole her boyfriend, etc.

Diabla checks in with Calvo, yep Al's on the hook, she wants Calvo to get Al together with his son to let them bond, dig it in deeper, so to speak.

hmm, seems the family doesn't know why Al is sick, he'll spill, later, so he says.

Titi makes the call, the meet is on with CataG, tells her to get all dolled up, and does she ever look top dollar, awaiting her ride on a Las Vegas strip sidewalk.

Titi in white, suit/shirt/shoes, Cata in red, dress/lips blindfold and cuffs, they take a moment to enjoy the others scent, the neon signs flashing outside of the hotel room.

hmm, the presidents of Mexico/Brazil/Colombia will meet in Pereira (home to Hilda and all), the Hand breaks the news.

Titi shirt off, and Cata kiss, go for roll on the bed, CataG is up, we have all night, and the game is on, but wait, she is no longer a prepago, she doesn't do favors, Titi is stunned that she sees it this way, how many times have I saved you, tears in both their eyes, and tomorrow will be another (the real meet) it's a trap he tells her, the Hands boy Rocco calls, reeling Titi in, tie her up he tells his guy.

the Hand is all business, he wants to sell the x6 HIV cure on the black market and wants his 2 narcos to invest, when Titi arrives he asks about the XY4, still developing but needs money, the 2 narcos are feeling worked, tensions rise.

Mike has put a tracker on CataG's weapon, they free her at the hotel, CataG is ungrateful.

CataG has arranged for Vanessa to return to Colombia.

Mari, who overheard Rocco calling Titi back suspects he was with CataG, and slithers into his room, sparsely attired shall we say, he blows her off, we are together for our daughter, that's all, but leaving his room, Moncho is lurking, awaiting his shot at this Baby, she turns and smiles.

"PRESO":

Novelera: Crazy Whacky Joe will add to a growing Body Count.

preso

Thanks very much, novelera, for getting the conversation started with your helpful "micro-mini recap."

I'm curious about two things you've said. I was exhausted last night and could barely stay awake while watching the novela, but I remember thinking that it was Sara in bed with Carlos/Joe. Mostly it was the blonde hair that made me think this, plus the fact that Sara had left the house early in the morning (to go to see Joe?). I know that Carlos/Joe did at one point put his hands on the woman's throat as if he was about to strangle her, but I don't think he did strangle her. That did make me wonder, though, whether I was wrong about her being Sara, but I thought I'd raise the issue here.

Also, what I recall about the Tuerto interview is Caro and Miranda talking about it. Caro says that she doesn't remember Carmelo ever being called "Melo," and that for years he was searching for her brother. She angrily says that Tuerto is lying, and she wants to refute him. But Miranda tells her "No, I have to stand up for Carmelo. He's my Carmelo."

Gotta run.

preso

Juanita, they showed the woman's face in Crazy Joe's bed, and I didn't think it was Sara.

Preso

wow, this is an incredibly well done show, and so nice of novelera to put up a summary, thanks!

if I could add some color,

clingy Ricardo talks too much.

crazy Segovia tells Carmelo a judge will rule on his case today, (and why wasn't I told Carmelo asks, because no one here is informed about anything) and he will get either "the Chamber" (a cell because he will be a flight risk) or be released.

he also tells Carmelo he can't go "without enjoying the delicacy that is my wife", que?, my wife's cooking, is explained as Carmelo is invited to dinner, "it'll be a night you'll never forget".

Clara tells Carmelo not to go, and later tells him Segovia is drinking and has a gun on the table, he'll kill you.

seems Carmelo's transfer to the island is all over the social media.

Francisco meets Emanuel at their favorite bar to hear the verdict, learns that last night Emanuel was there with Miranda and Caro was there with Ricardo.

while all wait for the verdict the paper gets the Voyo/Pia interview that appears ready to be released, the important part was that Carmelo not only was in touch, but knew Voyo was working for Ramses, it is curious that he referred to Carmelo as Melo.

looks like madman Joe is warming up for his next mission, I was thinking the girl was the judges daughter but she looked older.

interesting that Pedro wants to cut down on Guido's violence, so I don't think he ordered Mayorga's death, but when it comes to dirty deeds, everyone thinks of the "gringo".

I'm wondering if Jaime is sniffing around Isa because she became the president's daughter.

we see why Miranda isn't drinking, the pregnancy was planned she tells Caro (who knows full well she was working with the bad guys and sleeping with Emanuel all along, and my head spins around while going over why she moved in with Caro, maybe it's a keep your enemies closer thingy, or as Miranda put it, no body wants to be alone.)

preso

Thanks so much, deb, for the terrific extra details. Yes, I was sort of thinking that the woman Crazy Joe was in bed with, shown with his hands around her throat, and later photographing, I thought, a dead body was possibly a prostitute he'd hired. I didn't recognize her as ever having been in the cast.

Deb, I did not remember that Carolina knew that Miranda was having sex with Emanuel while married to Carmelo until she saw them in the restaurant and somehow jumped to conclusions. Did I miss something?

And I sort of had the impression that Miranda does admire and like Carolina, but she wanted a baby and apparently planned it so that it would be Carmelo's. I didn't get the impression she thought of Caro as an enemy.

Preso

yep, there sure are some interesting characters in this show.

I wonder how madman Joe will get rid of the body, they didn't follow up on the last one.

novelera, you may be right, Caro seems to know they (Emanuel/Miranda) were sleeping together all along but maybe she just figured it out, she WAS surprised to see them together in the restaurant.

it's so strange that Caro and Miranda are living together, I was just looking for reasons where there aren't any, yes, Miranda did say earlier that she was Jealous of Caro, but wanted to be her friend, Caro on the other hand was jealous of Miranda, but never wanted to be her friend.

I keep trying to see the other prisoners on the island, except in the distance they have never shown anyone else, right?

preso

Everyone else thinks that it's odd Caro invited Miranda to live with her. But I think it's just Carolina always being on the side of the underdog. Miranda had to leave the presidential residence and pretty much would have been forced to pay for either hotel bills or an apartment going forward. She seemed like she couldn't really afford that. And only last night did Emanuel make his offer to move in with him. Caro is a kind person. And Sara, at least, was not best pleased.

We saw, I believe, two other prisoners around that little fire when Clara told Chole she'd never get written permission to see her daughter. I think there was another woman there who didn't have any dialog. But, yes, walking around in the daylight I don't remember seeing any.

preso

I have book club tonight and would not be able to put up any sort of a recap. Any offers?

Preso

Thanks novelera for the mini-cap. Got right to the point. And thanks, deb for the color commentary.

Montero & Caro: I actually said out loud “what’s wrong with you, shut up!” to Montero.

Crazy Joe: Why did the writers create this monster? Was it necessary?

The couch of shame (lol, good one novelera) scenes blew my mind. A lot revealed and there’s some jumping to conclusions (or maybe there was some slicing and dicing along the way?) Caro understands why Miranda is with Emanuel--“to get away yet stay close.” So Caro did in fact do the deed with Francisco.(I guess I missed that.) She used him to “get away yet stay close”? What a lousy thing for Caro to do. And now she’s used Montero and she doesn’t feel too good about that. Give me a break.

Someone get Miranda a DNA test, please. What will Emanuel think? Caro’s not judging or preachy but the journalist has questions. Oh, it’s Carmelo’s. Miranda planned it not because he was the president but because she loves him! Caro loses it—you loved and adored him but partnered with those who would harm him?

So, if Caro knew all this why did she let Miranda into her home? I can’t figure it out. Interesting opinions on that deb and novelera. Maybe it’s just because they are both members of the Carmelo Screwed Me Over But I Still Love Him Club.

dondi, your comments are always a delight to read.

yep, "Maybe it’s just because they are both members of the Carmelo Screwed Me Over But I Still Love Him Club."

and Carmelo lands on an island with women, and instantly zeros in on the prettiest girl around.

what did his mom say, he's not a womanizer but he falls in love very easily.

Thanks very much, novelera, deb, and dondi, for your terrific comments. I'd like to join deb in giving a shout out to dondi"s "they are both members of the Carmelo Screwed Me Over But I Still Love Him Club."

Thanks, novelera, for setting me straight about the mystery woman in Joe's bed not being Sara.

I can't do a full recap tonight, but I'm willing to give a try to a micro-mini version.
