PRESO NO. 1 – LUNES – Parte 1 de 2

From Friday. Judge Linares says Carmelo is to remain in prison from 6 months to 2 years. [As usual, the Mexican legal system baffles me. It sounded like he sentenced him, but I thought there was going to be a trial.] The old guy, his new sidekick on the beach, tells Carmelo he’d get a few meters off the beach and a shark would get him.

After gloating Segovia tells Carmelo about the judge’s (verdict?) Carmelo says it was to be expected. Then Segovia starts raving about temblores. He says that the island is very soon going to sink into the ocean and that there’s a volcano under them. He then tells Carmelo he’s going to let him make a 5-minute call.

Carmelo calls Emanuel, but Paco and Carolina are there, so Emanuel puts it on speaker. Carmelo sounds defeated. He tells them he’s screwed and that it’s all over. He tells Caro to take care of his children. Caro is cut off. She was going to tell him about Miranda’s baby.

Looking grim, Carmelo tells him that wasn’t 5 minutes. Segovia says he counted it in his head: One hippopotamus, two hippopotamuses. Carmelo calls him crazy and gets a horrible beating and stomping for this. [They must have hired extra make-up artists, those with a specialty in fake bruises.]

The three friends of Carmelo are talking about the phone call when Adonis Madrigal, who was president for about a week, staggers up drunk. He’s SO happy about what Judge Linares said.

Clara is cleaning Carmelo’s wounds, saying she’s curing him (Ha!) of what she caused. [She could try staying away from him, so he’d have fewer lumps.]

We get a stupid scene of Eva being jealous of Adan’s supposed feelings for Carolina. FF>>>

After leaving the computer area to have sex. Adán and Eva return and, using the magical telenovela screens, somehow know about a call from Islas Marias. They talk about a rescue by air.

Paco and Chinta talk. She fears her brother will be killed. Paco tells her how downhearted Carmelo was. That his dream of being president has passed. He’s trapped on an island.

Chinta leaves Paco and gets into her car. Voyo is in the back seat and scares her plenty. He tells her he doesn’t want “them” to know that he's visiting Chinta and Doña Hortensia. He tells her he won’t let “them” kill his brother. He justifies making the recording by saying that they’d have killed him if he hadn’t done it. And, this way he’s free to help his brother. Alive, he can later say that he lied. He says he has his “people” and “they” are going to pay.

Benito Rivas-Macin has a nightmare in which Mayorga’s head appears in a plastic bag on some doorstep. He calls the army officer, Dosal Manrique and wants to see him ASAP. We see them side by side in a car. Rivas: “You got an order from the highest level. You got an order from the head of the armed forces. And you disobeyed. ¡Mil Gracias!

PRESO NO. 1 – LUNES – Parte 2 de 2

Carmelo is in the library and Clara shows up asking him how he is. [She doesn’t even stay away long enough for the bruises to fade.] When he says they shouldn’t be seen together, she replies that she wants to keep on seeing him. What she wants is to have him kill Segovia. And…right on cue… here’s Segovia. Carmelo has the gun he took wrapped in a cloth and resting on a library shelf, out of sight.

The housekeeper, Malena, wakes up Carolina, Sara, and Isabel, who have slept in the same bed. She tells them that the President is here to see them.

Lazcano tries to give Pia instructions about the “interview”. He tells her to start off tentative and then go hard. [More confusion. I thought the interview was with Evodio and was already done.] Pia storms off in a huff, saying she’s not going to record the interview. Lazcano calls someone and asks them to get hold of Rita Franco. He wants to meet with her right away.

I’m sorry. Carolina and Carmelo should have taught their kids, especially Sara, some manners. Rivas is trying to explain why he came and the two brats keep castigating him. He says he’s come to say that Dosal will be replaced as being in charge of their protection.

Paco and Emanual are walking on the street talking. Malena had called them to tell them about the President’s visit. They presume that Rivas has come to make an alliance with Carolina. They agree they’d be against that alliance working.

Rivas tells Carolina and the girls that Dosal Manrique will now be investigating who pressured Linares. And he says that he cannot free Carmelo; only the judge could do so.

Carmelo writes a letter to his children, leaves it on the beach, and walks into the ocean and is covered by waves. After a commercial break, he’s, of course, washed up on the beach, spitting water. Chole approaches him.

Adán and Eva tell Emanuel and Paco that they plan a rescue by air and need a plane.

The most patient man in Mexico tells Carolina that he understands her children’s behavior. They are fighting for their father. When he and Caro are alone, he tells her there are two ways to free Carmelo. One is un indulto (presidential pardon) that would happen after he’s found guilty. [More confusion for me. Sometimes it sounds like there’s going to be a trial and sometimes not.]

But he and Caro agree that Carmelo would never go for being pardoned for a crime he never committed. Rivas says that the other way is for him to flee the island, and he’s ready to help make that happen, despite what it could me for him personally.

Isabel leaves the stuff she found in that box on her bed, and Sara reads her mother’s account of being raped.

Rivas, Dosal and Iturbe realize that there had to be a threat to Linares for him to have made that verdict. It must have come by internet. Iturbe suggests hacking his emails, and Rivas tells him to do it.

Carmelo has a talk with Chole. She apparently realizes he tried to commit suicide. She asks if he doesn’t want to live for his children. He says he’s done. He asks her if she has a family. She says she had a baby in her womb, but they took it out with a bayonet in some military camp. He asks her who she is.

Just then Segovia staggers up and has some guys tie him to a tree. Come on, writers, do you think that Viewerville are sadists?

Wow, novelera, what a terrific recap of a very confusing episode!

Yes, the scene with Eva and Adan was incredibly stupid. Is there any male on the show who isn't lusting after Carolina? I'm not sure whether Adan then had sex with Eva to prove to her that she was wrong to be jealous, or because her accusation made him super horny. Either way, it was a stupid segment. And did Adan say that their phone had been hacked? He decides to let whoever is listening keep listening. He and Eva will talk about a rescue by sea but they'll really plan one by air.

I hated it when Clara came up to Carmelo in the library and, when he said she should leave, insisted that she wanted to keep seeing him. With friends like that.... When Segovia appeared, I kept waiting for Carmelo use the gun he had hidden under his hand. I'm not sure why he didn't.

I too was confused about the interview Lazcano talked about with Pia. At first, I thought he was simply criticizing how she had conducted it, she hadn't followed his instructions. But then it seemed as if the interview was about to happen and Pia said she wouldn't do it the way Lazcano wanted; she has her standards, and he isn't her boss, Pedro Islas is.

When Rivas Macin was being interrupted and criticized by Sara and Isabel, I kept wondering whether some of what Rivas Macin was telling them in confidence was going to get back to Carlos/Joe.

And what the heck was Carmelo doing, walking into the shark-infested waters? Surely if he wants to die, he can find a quicker and less horrific way than being eaten alive by a shark. And then suddenly after the commercials he's back on shore??

Thanks for clarifying that the scene with Mayorga's head falling out of the paper bag was Rivas Macin's nightmare. I at first thought Mayorga had actually been killed, and that when Rivas Macin thanked Dosal for disobeying his order, Rivas Macin didn't realize that Mayorga had indeed been killed. Your explanation makes a lot more sense.

I'm also confused about Dosal's role. He's no longer in charge of security, except that he is? I'm not sure what the point is here.

I also found confusing Rivas Macin's 2nd option for Carmelo--escape. This is also Caro's hope, and Adan and Eva's plan. But surely as an escaped convict, Carmelo couldn't return to the presidency. Indeed, he couldn't even appear in public, since the bad guys would be looking for him. If he could escape AND all the bad guys could be jailed or killed off, fine, but no one is talking about anything except getting him off Islas Marias.

At the end of your recap, you ask whether the writers think Viewerville are sadists. My feeling increasingly is that the writers are sadists. I think I'll take note of their names and make sure I avoid any work by them in the future.

Preso

Thank you, novelera, for the comprehensive recap.

I agree this detainment/trial stuff is very confusing. Novelas take license with the US justice system, too. Whatever it takes to expedite the story.

How I understand this mess (not saying it’s correct): The bad guys’ objective for Carmelo is death or life in prison. Segovia could still accomplish the former (but we know that can’t happen). They’ve detained Carmelo and if it’s long enough there will be another election. If Carmelo gets a speedier trial, then the fix is in—guilty as charged. The good guys (with Rivas Macin help) petitioned to drop the charges. Linares said the charges for Virginia’s murder were not valid and so dropped, but that the charges for embezzlement were valid and he upheld Carmelo’s detention pending trial. That’s where the 6 mos.-2 yrs. figure in.

Los Alvarado-Arteaga are a family of self-centered, self-righteous, ill-mannered people. Come to think of it I have a problem with almost all of the “good guys” in this novela.

Rivas Macin was very gracious. Other than that first grand mistake that helped to get the story rolling, I have respect for him. He’s still trying to right the wrong. I’m liking young Iturbe, too. Will he be a match for one of the daughters?

I think Carmelo looked a bit sick when Clara showed up. If this doesn’t cure him of his womanizing ways, nothing will. Hey Clara, you have better access to Segovia. You kill him. Have Chole cook up a special brew and dose him.

The sea spit Carmelo back to shore. It’s a sign his time is not up yet. I wonder what connection Chole has to those old days when Carmelo went looking for his father.

One if by land, two if by sea, three if by air? Those crazy kids, Adan and Eva. This is where the “can’t swim” figures in, Juanita. Paco told Carmelo to learn to swim!

I’m not sure how an escape will help restore Carmelo to the presidency either but at least he won’t be brutally beaten every night.

preso

Thanks VERY much, dondi356, for your wonderfully detailed and helpful comments! Your account of the "mess" was especially helpful.

I too am having a hard time really liking most of the good guys. I agree with what you say about Rivas Macin and Iturbe.

Yes, Paco told Carmelo to learn to swim, but my impression is that he didn't take that advice. I think it's only telenovela magic that landed him back on the shore after he ventured into the water.

And yes, escape would save Carmelo from more brutal beatings, but I don't see him as someone who can disappear into the woodwork and do nothing. He's dedicated to helping his country, but it will be hard to do that as a wanted fugitive.

Loved your suggestion "Have Chole cook up a special brew and dose him." Amen!

preso, general

Hi all. Just a quick note to say that I'll be traveling for the next two weeks. While I'm away, I won't be able to watch Preso nor, obviously, to recap (not even tonight), though I expect to be able to access Caray. I'm hoping some of you will pitch in and help novelera with recaps, mini-caps, or anything else that will help.

Muchas gracias por adelantado.

El Final del Paraíso

Thanks, deb! (number 255 in the sin senos si series if you are wondering where your life went) That’s classic. I should remember not to drink while reading your recaps.

How’d Catagrande get away so fast and unnoticed pushing that wheelchair around Las Vegas? Ah, yes the incompetent Rubens is chasing her down. Will this mark a return to CataG’s criminal past? Then not to worry Cata, TIti is here for you.

I was so waiting for Valeria to name drop; it was too good to be true. Good move Natalia, get those prints, I wondered about them. I hope Natalia will stick around for a while. She’s the only hope for the good guys.

CataG is her own worst enemy, but she leaves a trail of devastation in her wake. The death curse…lol, deb. Why Albeiro, Titi and Santi still worship her is beyond me, they must have a death wish…

Hoping the writers will change the story regarding HIV treatment.

I'm wondering if someone ate Shadow’s woman, too. Maybe not, but I would be willing to bet it’s someone we know.

Rocco was also tasked with finding another DEA agent they can flip. Who could that be? And what does that mean for Valeria?

Let’s see how honor among thieves plays out for the XY4 cartel members.

wonderful recap novelera!

hmm, I was thinking the head did roll but Rivas conscience woke him up, but nightmare works better.

the english caps of Carmelo's note to his girls, I think he said he wasn't a coward, but was going to confront his fear of water, which puts an interesting slant on that.

I was thinking Pia has a show or something where she was going to introduce that pre-recorded interview.

interesting that Voyo is out and about and has his "sad sack" friends.

I think Dosal was personally in charge of Caro and the girls security, but Rivas wanted to free him up for some special investigative and stealth work.

so Rivas and Caro used the rude kids as an excuse to talk alone.

interesting dondi, a possible connection between Chole and Carmelo's run in with the guerillas.

sin-senos4 #16

CataG spends most of the show telling Mariana how it is, Mari spends it not listening, but oh the punishment CataG is in for once she gets away, CataG adds I've already been punished, having you for a daughter.

Acevedo has a pet guard watch doc Lugo.

Shadow gets the word, Lugo is backing out.

the Hand is on his thrown talking power to Vini and Moncho.

the girls decide Hilda needs a special dress for Fashion week, Hilda talks to Sal, it's back on.

amiga Jo talks to Mateos, magazine guy, she wants him to hold the Hilda expose for the right moment.

Mike stresses to Natalia that the reputation of the agency comes first.

Titi talks down CataG but Dayana knows he's hooked, but hey, they are at it again.

Mike has taken listening lessons from Mari as Natalia talks about Valeria, we need to find out who she really is.

Calvo makes another video of Albeirito for Al, little al calls him pa, Calvo says he is a good father, is teaching him slang and will get him a gun so he can defend himself, not like his real father the princess.

Gabriel visits CataM, nothing is too small to spend time with her, but hey, there are irregularities in Jota's case, they figure he can get released on house arrest till the trial, CataM is all over him him, (I was waiting for Sandra to snap a pic).

Lugo tells Shadow's paid guard he won't do it, the guard says he is also done with Shadow, as a hidden listener goes away, Lugo says the fish has taken the bait.

Shadow spills, it was a powerful drug lord that killed his love, and later goes off the deep end talking about how he is a prisoner not because of the bars but of his revenge.

Shadow's guard swings by, they talk bird food and hawks, Shadow turns and tells the boys, it's on, tomorrow we die, jo jo jota is worried how the drugs will react in him.

CataM tells Gabriel, Sandra has eyes for him, no, leaves them alone and Sandra's eyes are nothing but sparkles.

little al's nanny is worried about him being restless after seeing his father, breaks all the rules beginning with opening her mouth, and what about the girl Calvo has locked up, what? it's Margarita, mother of the surrogate mom of little al, hmm, Diabla doesn't know she's alive.

Calvo calls Diabla, her phone is off, "that's strange".

Vane and her daughter swing by Hilda's to get updated on jo jo jota.

the doc checks on Val, hmm, she is not in a coma why isn't she awake, maybe because of the nightmare cycle she is in where all know who she is, and it gets worse, jota is in it, Dani where are you?

Rocco is back, he found CataG, the Hand has a plan, Dayana and Moncho will take care of her, a tear runs down Titi's cheek.

Preso

What I remember, condensed and in no particular order.

Thank goodness Chole, aka Soledad Ocampo, aka Oca Loca, spared us a rape scene on Islas Marias involving Segovia and Carmelo.

Carmelo knows that name Oca. Chole was involved with the unrest surrounding the 68 Olympics. Carmelo wants to know more but Chole walks away. So this goes back before Carmelo was born. I have no idea why this was introduced into the story at this point.

Caro and Sara talk about the rape, Ramses Cota and Carmelo. Isabel enters the convo. The 3 of them are determined to visit Carmelo.

So is Carmelo’s mama. She leaves a note for Chinta. She must take action as Carmelo has said. We see her boarding a plane.

Ricardo wants to send Diana to Islas Maria to interview Carmelo and, bonus, you get to see your mom. Caro is furious when she finds out.

I'm getting the idea that young Diana has a crush on Ricardo.

Clara and Carmelo have some late night coffee talk about her situation. Guess where this is going? Carmelo advises her there is no future for us. Clara doesn’t care. They have sex while Segovia is passed out drunk.

Crazy Joe calls Sara and they make a deal. Get my dad out of prison and I will go with you. Meet me tomorrow morning. Caro flips out. Sara says you can’t stop me. Caro’s going with her. The next morning Caro jogs to the agreed meeting place ahead of Sara and speaks with Crazy Joe. Blah, blah, blah. Sara shows, Joe runs off. This goes nowhere.

Mayorga is processed at the prison.

Iturbe enlists Adan to hack Linares’ computer. He finds the video. Rivas Macin wants Mayorga to see the video, maybe he will spill.

Pedro goes to see Rivas Marin. he cards are on the table. Pedro says resign and name Bautista president. Rivas can’t do that, there are laws. Pedro thinks he’s the law and he knows what’s good for the country. Rivas says I know what you did to Linares. Uh, oh. Pedro says I have no idea must have been my idiot son. How about I turn him in?

Juanito got word of his dad’s offer to Rivas Macin. Juanito meets with Pia for lunch. He’s late and she makes a scene. Hey Pia, my dad wants to hand me over to Rivas Macin and guess what—you’re going down with me.

Diana shows up at Islas Marias and is introduced to Carmelo. Clara is also there and she faints.

dondi356

preso

Thanks so much, dondi, for your excellent comment/recap. If that was from your memory, you've got an enviable one!

I know I should not ever expect logic from TNs but...a couple of episodes ago Carolina couldn't even shop/talk to Adán in some grocery store without two largish guys with those white listening devices in their ears stuck to her like glue. Rivas promised someone else besides Dosal would be taking over security, but Carolina manages to get into the street alone to meet Voyo and into the park to look for Crazy Joe. I know Eva showed up eventually but Joe could have killed her 3 times over before this happened.

Things seem to be coming together. I thought last night's episode was good. And I'm starting to think Rivas-Macin should just stay on as President. He's good at it. They are showing previews of a show with Blanca Soto that deb says will be 10 episodes, so maybe Preso was always intended to be short. Or it's not doing well and they're moving it to a weird hour.

Actually, I think Chole having been involved with the student unrest in Mexico in 1968 does sort of fit. Carmelo was sort of involved with the Zapatistas in Chiapas, mostly looking for his father's body at the beginning. But he stayed a while. So he would have something in common with Chole as having had a rebellious and socialist period in their youth.

Sigh. Clara overhears Carmelo telling the older guy (Nata?) that Carolina is the love of his life and is huffy about it later. Please.

El Final del Paraíso

Thanks for the recap, deb!

Have to say I spent time FF> this episode. Particularly Catagrande & Mari (CataG’s punishment is ours, too), Hilda & Co. and some of the Shadow gang.

The lone voice in the wilderness: I hope Natalia takes on the Valeria Project as a side job.

Titi says CataG is his perdición (true that). As things heat up, Dayana whispers to Titi, you may be my perdición. Anyway, he will find a way to save CataG.

Shadow spills and then cut to Black Hand. Is he the one?

Disgusting Calvo. Why did he “keep” Margarita? Patricia seems to know a lot, possibly too much. Yeah, Calvo warns her.

I quite enjoyed Valeria’s nightmare-even with Jota. Too bad Natalia was not there to record.

Preso No. 1 – Miércoles – Quick and Dirty

Sara, her usual charming self, demands to see Pres. Rivas-Macin. She meets Iturbe and there’s a spark.

On the island, Clara and Diana embrace.

Dosal comes to see Mayorga at San Buenaventura prison. Peña doesn’t leave them alone. Later Dosal tells Rivas-Macin that Mayorga appeared drugged, crazy. He talked about the gringo loco.

Carolina, Sara, and Paco arrive at Islas Marias.

Clara and Diana walk on the beach. Clara tells her daughter she doesn’t blame Belisario García. There’s no place for blame here. And she hints maybe she was partly to blame for her husband’s death.

Carmelo and Sara embrace, then walk on the beach. They talk a long time. They both decide they don’t want a DNA test.

Rivas-Macin goes on national television and says he’s calling for a general election. He sort of hinted that this could mean Carmelo Alvarado could be president again (or did I misunderstand).

Islas and Rupert watch this on TV and gnash their teeth.

Isabel and Jaime jump in bed together. No protection.

Loco Joe is outside Carolina’s house talking to Miranda in the car. He threatens her and her baby if she doesn’t spy on Caro and the others for him.

Segovia plays nice with Carolina. BSC he thinks she’s attracted to him.

Carolina gets to see Carmelo. She tells him about the baby. They spend the night together.

Hortensia is in some plane on her way to see her son.

Clara sees Carmelo and Carolina asleep together and then later Segovia as well.

Iturbe has either a wife or a girlfriend, and she’s jealous.

I’m not crazy about Clara now. She’s not right in the head sticking up for Segovia to Diana.

Segovia tells Carolina about Carmelo and Clara. He admits it. Slap!

Segovia tells Carmelo they have some accounts to settle.

the doc has sedated Val to calm her dreams, I think he's puzzled, as he and the nurse leave, Diabla's eyes open, she smiles.

Mike also knows where CataG is, puts his team together, you stay Natalia.

Vanessa is updated by the gang at Hilda's place, they are off to visit him, Hilda will stay and watch Vanessa's girl.

Jo, with her fake smile, pops in on Hilda, praising her work, the fashion world is cruel, cases Hilda's joint but looks afraid to touch anything, when she leaves she call Mateos.

the gang can't visit jota because he is in solitary, they call in the big guns, Gabriel and his boss Marcela Pinzon.

Titi calls CataG and warns her, pulls out the sim chip from the phone and eats it.

Liset warns Hilda, that lady has poison in her eyes.

the Hand sends Vini, Titi and Rocco on a mission, to snatch Diabla.

on the drive to CataG (takes the whole show) Dayana calls him Monchito, this turns him on, oh, I thought Mari turned him on Dayana says, it shows? he replies.

Natalia left alone in the office runs Val's prints, access denied.

jota gets called out for his visit, the gang wonder if it's a trap, can they trust him, Santi backs him up, but lollipop sucking Ace sends him back.

Mateos, from Ultramoda mag, shows at Hilda's, claimed he followed Jo, wants to be the first to get the scoop, butters her up, she tells all, Liset gets bad vibes.

Vane gets 15 minutes with jota, not sure if they are happy being separated or are getting back together, and his hulk body, it's not all bad he says, other things grew, que? like my love for you, but when Vane asks him if he killed Laura, he blows up, he's not talking till Paola is there, good luck with that she says, Paola is missing.

Al's warm personality thanks the the lawyer, she says don't call me mam, I had an illness where I almost died... (are they bonding, just what Al needs, another girlfriend)

CataM and Gab get chummy, Sandra watches from afar, smurks, yep she is jealous, holding hands means nothing says CataM, tells her to make the jump and go for it.

Hernan is hitting the bottle.

doc Titi and his colleagues slither through the hospital, Val's room, is it empty?

Natalia comes later, Val's room?, this one is empty.

CataG has Mariana smothered quiet somewhere, as Monchito, Dayana, and some boys come down the walkway, guns drawn.

Preso

I've been watching the show the next morning at telemundo, but they posted the wrong video for tuesday, so...

did you get where this new show will take over Preso's time slot?

Preso

Thank you for recapping, novelera. I appreciate you hanging in there.

I’m getting tired of having to work so hard to understand for so little in return. Just tell me how it ends.

We are definitely getting a sliced and diced novela now.

I thought that Emanuel said to Caro, get ready we’re going to Islas Marias. Emanuel didn’t go.

Hortensia is still on that plane but Caro & Co. got to Islas Marias in the blink of an eye. She’s never heard of Telenovela Airlines?

Mayorga squealed on Crazy Joe and it’s likely his fate is sealed. If Dosal didn’t kill him, Peña will since Mayorga is now useless and a liability.

Once again I have legal/political confusion with Rivas Macin calling for an election. I’m not clear either if the idea was for Carmelo to regain the presidency. The bad guys were unhappy at the news but I think they intend to put up another crooked candidate. Then Carmelo told Sara he couldn’t get reinstated or reelected at this point no matter what.

How inappropriate for Francisco to tell Sara about his conflicting feelings of undying love for Caro and loyalty to Carmelo. She’s open to listening and gives him advice?

That Clara is weird and is trouble. Maybe she did kill her husband and will attempt to kill Carmelo.

Caro getting jealous about Clara. Really? Aren’t there more important things to worry about?

deb, I'm still seeing promos for No te Puedes Esconder on Sept. 30th at 10 pm. Is there a change?

dondi356

"PRESO":

Dondi356: Carmelo will NEVER regain the Presidency anytime soon at this point.

I do agree with you on Clara: that girl is a SNAKE!

El Final del Paraíso

Thank you, deb. You covered it all.

Halimacandy, you're spot on with Black Hand playing the cartel for chumps.

Well if Catagrande can have a bunch of lovers/admirers, why can’t Albeiro? And they could use a high-power lawyer in the family. Let Sandy have Gabriel, please.

Who was watching Vane’s daughter while she was on the job?

Hope Natalia keeps working on the Valeria Project.

Rubens is closing in on CataG at the same time as the Cartel. Will there be a shootout and will CataG & Mari escape in the confusion?

Dayana said CataG is no idiot, she's DEA. Except in this show DEA=idiot. I'm excluding Natalia.

Titi & Natalia at the hospital for Diabla/Valeria. Both groups looked surprised when they entered the room. Could she have escaped on her own?

I'm also seeing signs of "slicing and dicing", dondi 356. Last night I wondered if they'd cut what happened to Mayorga. They showed him arriving at the prison, in a sort of echo of when Carmelo was "processed". He was tough and defiant, announcing his military rank. When Dosal comes to see him, he appears unaware of his situation, as if a high ranking officer had come to visit him out of friendship. Later, IIRC, Dosal remarks that he seemed drugged and losing his mind. Did they originally film his decline and cut it?

And it was a very abrupt arrival at Islas Marías for Carolina, Paco, and Sara. I did not remember Emanuel saying that he would also be coming, but good point.

At least they gave us lots of Carmelo and Sara together. I have a son, and he has a daughter. Something about father-daughter closeness pulls at my heartstrings. It was very cute the way he kept trying to curtail her potty mouth.

And I'm with you about Clara. I've been annoyed with her from the very beginning. Her reckless pursuit of Carmelo has caused him real bodily harm. As Juanita said, maybe the writers are sadists.

I wish my co-worker were here to grill. She grew up in Mexico and I'd be asking her about how their constitution works. She's on vacation now. I did know about the sexenio. Presumably in a reaction to Porfirio Díaz' eternal presidency before the revolution, Mexican presidents can only serve one term of six years.

From what the writers have said and as a non-native Spanish speaker, I have gathered that, had Carmelo been cleared by Judge Linares as said judge hinted to Rivas-Macin before the scary video that he was going to do, Carmelo could have simply resumed office. But the six-month minimum "sentence?" on the island, put him away from his duties long enough that the conspirators and Carmelo himself, believe that the law would prohibit him taking office again.

Then Rivas-Macin's address to the nation confused me even more. Was he hinting that, by calling for elections, and should Carmelo be freed soon, Carmelo could run again?

Preso

thanks dondi and novelera for doing the recaps!

I found a captionless version of Tuesday's show so I may be foggy on that, I was impressed with Chole's glowing eyeballs that chased Segovia and his men away, reminded me of a cat's third eyelid.

when Caro was talking to Joe and Sara showed, were there feelings for Joe expressed? and Sara's plan to have Joe confess to her parents seems to have changed to getting her dad off the island, then she will go with him.

didn't get why Carmelo's other student left, but his classes are pretty small.

yes, Hortensia on the forever flight, so I'm going to go with it's a bus.

hmm, the crazy gringo took pics of Jaime and they seemed to be waiting for him to leave.

Bautista is the guy Pedro told Rivas to name as a replacement which is why Rivas is calling for an election and it does seem to open the door for Carmelo.

I think Dorsal's description of Mayorga was like being in prison has released his inner self, wondering why they left Pena there with Carmelo gone.

I thought it was also inappropriate for Francisco to tell Sara about the escape plan.

no changes that I know of with the new show, it's there to face off with el Dragon, but no word on Preso, I'm wondering if it will just be a pause, (44 shows would be short) and I don't think "Senior" is ready yet or they would have gone with it. The editing of Preso has always been choppy but I'm not seeing that they are shortening it yet, but...
