hulk Jota stops Art and Harley's moto dead, they go flying, Santi proceeds to smash their phones (hmm, I would think they would come in handy)
Alf sees the latest edition news, Conde is a hero.
Hand calms Conde, turns his attention to finding a vice president, and where is Titi?
that's right Titi's off having a friendly chat with Mari, he's having a hard time getting her to see his wordly experience because she wants to kill him and wouldn't have had the baby if she hadn't been out of her mind high, she knows he's boinking Dayana, as she has watched them flirt from afar, (nice beaver flash Dayana), Titi talks about the gold in his heart, it sparkles for CataG, Mari licks up his face (is this a disease Diabla is spreading).
Shadow calls Dan, he wants help finding Jota and Santi, you'll be doing them a favor.
Diabla calls Calvo, CataG was face to face with a bomb and didn't get a scratch, they are both dumbfounded.
Al wants out, he'll help Patricia (he tells her) and Val- flash to Val telling about her 12 yo son, hiv from a transfusion, Diabla planned it, they talk of his love with CataG.
Diabla tell Calvo she has to return to the Crybaby squad, Hilda and company, wants him to get info on Lucrecia.
Hilda and CataG have their usual sitdown chat, CataG sorry for all the pain she has caused her mom, Hilda wants Cata to quit the DEA, tears in their eyes, when Sal shows with flowers asking Hilda's forgiveness, well ok, they kiss.
Mateos tells Jo he's had enough, she tells him he's in till the end, they toast with their fancy drinks.
the Hand and Titi talk about Mari, oh yea, Titi wants to get rid of Moncho, when they run into the others, Moncho wants a tour of the lab.
CataG tells Hilda about Titi's warning about the bomb, Val is around the corner listening.
Sal, CataG, and all talk Hilda into moving forward with her designs.
Santi and Jota show up at the DEA office, Santi is going in, Jota talks him out of it, as they leave they run into some police, who may have recognize them, when clear they run down the street, till they cause an accident which blocks a car Vane is in, who sees them, and calls out.
Val makes a date with Alf, like right now in the hospital, they ask the others to leave, and clear the air about any significant others, kiss, Lucrecia and Nelly's eyes pop as they peek through a window.
Conde is getting worried, he calls someone, he wants to meet.
CataG makes it home and pulls off her heels, wait, she senses something and her heels are back on before she can grab her gun, and goes probing...

PRESO NO. 1 – LUNES – Parte 1 de 3
Carmelo, Clara, Evodio, and Plácido head back to the drug camp fearing the worst.
Mayorga, after finding Carmelo on some sort of tracker, shoots Amalia in the head.
Some plain clothes cop grills María, Pia’s maid. She doesn’t tell him anything. One of the guys finds a photo of Pia and Carmelo somewhere and also a framed photo of Pia and Carolina [Hmm. Colors look odd. Photoshopped?]
At the hospital Caro is comforting Sara. Like many TN characters, Sara knows something by instinct and says something isn’t right adentro. Caro doesn’t tell her the truth.
The good guys return to the camp and Plácido cries out at the sight of his mother.
Paco and Emanuel pick up a vibe from Caro while they are watching the news of Pia’s death.
Lazcano orders Rita to hint that Carmelo is free and his worst enemy Pia has been killed. She hangs up after telling him to go to hell.
The cop from Pia’s apartment comes to the hospital to insist that Caro come to the station with him.
Plácido launches himself at Carmelo and points a gun at his head. Evodio points one at the back of Plácido’s head. Carmelo: “If you think it’s right, do it!” Plácido can’t pull the trigger, lowers the gun and Carmelo embraces him
The same cop is grilling Caro at the station. He tells her people heard her say she’d kill her. Caro says that she said it in outrage because of the video of her daughter, but it was just an outburst.
Juanito tells some reporters that Carmelo called Pia to say that he’d kill her. Lazcano and Guido think he’s overdoing it and no one would believe him.
The cop hints that something could happen to her daughters. She just needs to say that Carmelo killed Pia. Paco bursts in, threatening the cop with bringing charges against him for interviewing her without counsel. Caro goes on to say that, as a journalist, she’s denouncing him publicly for threatening her children. But, as a mother, if he comes near them, she’ll kill him.
We see the group burying Amalia. Then Evodio tells Clara he blames himself for what happened. Everyone near him dies.
Flashback to 14 years ago... Evodio is talking to Amalia, who has a bloody nose that they don’t explain. She agrees to get into the business. He insists she call him Tuerto, not Evodio. And she’ll work for Don Galvino.
We see Amalia walking through an airport with a wheeled suitcase, holding Plácido’s hand. She remembers telling Evodio that she’s going nowhere without her son and he might even make her look harmless. But we see her approached by “Police” so it must be the US. She serves 3 years in prison.

When Amalia is coming back to the village Tuerto approaches her. He tells her he’s sorry. He protested the plan but Don Galvino wanted to use her as a distraction so a big shipment could get through. He then tells her Don Galvino is dead.
Carmelo says that, before they leave the camp, he is going to make a video. Clara says she wants to also make one.
Paco comes to see Caro, walking right into her bedroom. When she startles and pulls her robe tight, he reminds her he’s seen her nude lots of times. Caro confesses to him that she went to Pia’s. Before they leave, Paco gets a call from Diana, who’s making a bit of a jealous scene.
Clara talks to a camera on a computer. “This is my truth, and yours too, hijita."
21 years ago... Omar is looking at Clara, who’s in bed with a huge pregnancy belly. Then we go back a bit in time to see Belisario telling her he’s decided she’s not going back to the US. She can study dance in Mexico. Apparently, he views her as a possession and she's been his mistress.
Back to the scene between she and Omar. She asks him why he never told her Belisario was his father. She calls him Jesús and says that she’s his wife. At the in-laws, Hypocrite Belisario tells his wife he doesn’t think Clara is good enough for his son.
One Chona, a typical kindly sounding board maid for children of rich TN characters, tells Omar that Clara messed with a married man. And that he, Omar, is a devil because he knew about it and sought her out. But, he says, he fell in love. He started with the plan to get even with them for what they did to his mother.
Clara is looking through the nursery window at Baby Diana. She refuses to have anything to do with Omar when he approaches. We see Jimena, Omar’s mother, being excited about her grandchild’s arrival. I think she thinks Omar, Clara and the baby are moving in.
Clara has checked herself out of the hospital. She’s in a hotel room. Belisario bursts in, with a goon in tow. He tells her that no one abandons HIM! He takes the baby. She calls Omar to tell him what happened.
Omar comes to, I think, his father’s house. He bashes the goon in the head with a wrench and takes his gun. He is trying to get his child. Belisario tells him he’ll have to kill him to get the baby. Omar points the gun. We do NOT see what happened here.
In the present… We just see Clara sobbing after making her recording.
Carmelo says he’s going to do a video to set up giving himself up.
Caro tells Paco that she entered Pia’s apartment, which was open, and only touched Pia’s neck looking for a pulse. [Can you get fingerprints off a neck? Don’t know.]
Emanuel approaches Caro and Paco to tell them that Carmelo has put up a video.
We see Carmelo saying that there is no truth to the accusations of fraud against him. Also, they accused him of killing Virginia Carranza, and he’s innocent. They played all their cards to keep him in prison, trying to kill him. So, seeing how things were, he had to flee to save his life. “My principle objective now is to stay alive.”

Back to Carmelo’s video. He says that without wanting it, he’s sowed death everywhere. Those who want him dead have begun an unending hunt. He says he keeps hoping change will come for the country and that he’ll be alive to see it.
We see Rui Palacios and his campaign team thoughtfully watching the video.
Guido tells Mayorga that he’s sending him CJ to work on the problem. This does not go over well with Mayorga.
Back to Carmelo. He says that change is close. Someone close to him will seek the post he had. He’s giving himself up because there’s been enough hatred and death. “What happens to me going forward will be public, whether they like it or not.”
CJ tells Guido that, very soon, he’s going to kill Mayorga.
Carmelo says that Pia was used against him and then “they” killed her. Blaming him for her death is ridiculous. He says he’s not a killer, but the one who stabbed his daughter surely is.
CJ gets into a very conspicuously colored car and kisses his driver quickly on the lips. “Let’s go.”
Carmelo says he has to stop the search for him. “Vote for this option [?]. It’s very close to being manifested publicly. I love my country.” He says he’s giving himself up to “them”. “You know who you are. I won’t name you because I’m not wanting sensationalist comments. Everyone knows who they are. The ones who arranged the attack where they thought they’d find me failed. I’ll give you the place where I’ll give myself up and it will be your responsibility what happens to me from now on. Nothing is lost; everything’s to gain. The best is yet to come.”
We see some young people in a café applauding.

Clara seems to be hanging close to Voyo rather than chasing Carmelo, I guess her video is an expose of Belisario, but it should conk Diana pretty well.

I was wondering why Pia would have a picture with Caro. Yes, it sure looked odd. And her pic with Carmelo was in the garbage? Someone faked and planted them?
I think it’s possible to get latent prints off a body but it can be difficult to do depending on timing and conditions. But do the cops even want to find the real killer?

Thanks, dondi and deb (sounds like a duo from the 50's or 60's) for your comments. Yes, this is a very frustrating novela and maybe why they're chopping it up.
I have a smallish HD TV so that it will fit into my much adored pine entertainment center, so when they put those tiny letters at the bottom saying how many years ago the next scene or scenes take place, I have to get up off the sofa!
I can hardly wait to see Belisario's humiliation, unless they cut that as well. Is his wife deceased? I hope not. I want her to take him for every time he's worth.
So why did they only show the reactions to Carmelo's video and nada for Clara's?

Nah, I didn't ever want Plácido to pull the trigger. I still like Carmelo. He might have a seriously roving eye, but as far as doing the right thing for the people of Mexico, he's solid gold. I'm just thinking they're going with Caro becoming President and I don't think she has the temperament. But they've repeated without any reasons that make sense to me, that Carmelo can neither resume office nor run again. So, if he's completely exonerated, why would he not be able to serve out...what...4 more years of a sexenio?

At the end of that big speech we saw last night Carolina sorta announces her candidacy.
Clara tells Carmelo (in a flashback) that the goon overpowered Omar, the gun went off, and Omar died. Then Belisario shot the goon. Clara is blamed and we see her lining up at the island prison. [I must say they’ve done a great job of making her look in her 20’s.]
Adán and Eva show up at Carmelo’s location. [I still don’t know where the heck they are.] Some people come to help who are called The Apostles. They tell Carmelo that 10 million Mexicans saw the video.
Carmelo calls Carolina, who’s with his children at the hospital. Viewerville is nervous about the call, but it’s a trap. Mayorga thinks he’s found their communication center.
Mayorga and Crazy Joe…sittin’ in a tree…k.i.s.s.i.n.g.
Caro gives an interview to a TV reporter where she dances around whether she’s in contact with Carmelo.
At the hospital Iturbe and Sara sort of get something going in their relationship.
After the interview Caro gives a stirring speech formally announcing her candidacy. It scares the baddies a lot.
Rivas-Macin calls Rui Palacios. R-M, as before, is a loyal party man and Caro is running as an independent.
Guido comes to see Rivas-Macin, who says he won’t help him. When Guido starts to threaten, R-M tells him he’s scared or he wouldn’t have come.
Isa tells Jaime she’s pregnant.
Paco proposes to Diana.
The army arrives at the hideout, Mayorga and Crazy Joe as well. Lots of shooting. The apostles kill lots of Mayorga’s guys. The cabin where the communication stuff is located is blown up by the good guys. [But Carmelo said it was only part of the stuff in one of those ubiquitous flashbacks.] Two bodies are brought out. [I’d bet money CJ is not dead.]
Later more soldiers show up. Clara is shot and killed.

Thanks, dondi. I am aware that there's a fair amount of corruption in Mexico. But I just find all those apparently regular Mexican Army guys showing up somewhere to kill a bunch of civilians ridiculous. What, no one goes over Mayorga's head and tells, say, a General, to stop this nonsense? Will I ever stop expecting telenovelas to make sense?

We may not see Paola and she may be laying in the ..'cut'.. but she kills to survive..
Jota is a survivor.. and those daycare flashback, add on was good, this are fillers not flash backs
Did they change writers midstream, this show has a different tone after the third episode.. the pace is frantic!!

I thought we were going to get some shake-ups this week to counter the Uni programming? This was a meh episode for me.
Santi and Jota make it to Catagrande’s house. He’s really angry—why don’t you care about what’s happened to me? Blah, blah, blah. She’s got her gun drawn on him the whole time. Santi says, believe me or shoot me. (Don’t ask what I would choose) She relents and lowers her gun. There was too much of them in this episode and when you throw Jota in, well...
We get more make out scene starring Valeria and Berrios. LOL, Valeria is rolling her eyes as she kisses him. The voyeurs, Lucrecia and Nelly are discussing the show. Lucrecia says that evil look in Valeria’s eyes reminds her of the most perverse woman she has ever met—Yesica Beltran aka Diabla! Valeria tells Berrios that Agent Santana wanted her to check on him. Check!
Vanessa and Daniel meet. She saw Jota and Santi but couldn’t catch them. Vanessa wants to meet with Shadow.
Sombra berates, threatens Arturo and Harley because they let Santi and Jota escape. Give us another chance, boss!
Sal and Hilda talk at lunchtime. Liseth and Mirta are there, too. He doesn’t care what they say about her, he doesn’t want to lose her. Later, Hilda tells Sal that Albeiro will always be part of her life. Sal understands, he wants to be her present and her future.
Dayana and Mari are at the XY4 lab. Dayana has Quique and Manotas working on her “family problem”. Mari says, that’s great, they helped me with my Catamedia problem! Uh, oh.
Moncho and Vini are also at the lab getting the full tour from Black Hand, Titi and Pilar, the Stanford graduate and lab lady. XY4 has been reformulated but they are curious about the survivor of the earlier version. Titi knows--Jota, Shadow, jailbreak. (But does Titi know about Santi?) There’s talk about taking credit for the explosion, the production of X6 and Mari asks, where’s Diabla?
Jota is hungry, Santi is not and lets Jota eat his sandwich. Jota goes on to explain how his body has changed since the drug. Look at how big and hard my muscles are and do you want to see what else grew?
Jota goes to the bathroom and Santi and CataG talk calmly. New safe house, the kids, the memories. Santi says do you remember your love for me? You are still my wife. CataG—legally yes, but we are not together anymore. Santi asks, is it because of Tony or do you have someone else? I think he cares more about the gay label than being guilty of murder. We get the flashback to the murder/arrest scene.
CataG and Santi believe that Zoraya couldn’t have pulled this off alone. She must have had someone powerful helping her. Santi realized something over the two years—this was not only about him but about CataG as well. They destroyed our family. Sebas is ok in Miami but Mari is not. Conversation about Mari. Santi says we must rescue her. They talk about Mari’s baby.

Back to CataG and Santi. Is Albeiro back in your life? CataG says why ask when you know. Flash back to convo with Santi and Albeiro. Albeiro was willing to step aside for CataG’s happiness. (Things change, Santi) Jota butts in and starts talking about Cata & Albeiro’s past and Santi leaves them.
Vanessa and Daniel: no trace of Zoraya, no trace of Paola. Vanessa tells Daniel about the disappearance of CataM and Nachi. He had no idea.
Granados and officers are watching security footage from fashion week. They think they see CataM being led away by two men into a van. They can’t get a plate or good pic of the men. They watch another video of Nachi getting kidnapped at gunpoint, no IDs there either.
Liseth and Mirta are walking back from the store. They stop to sit on a bench. They are happy working and living with Hilda. Quique and Manotas show up. One says we are just following, the other says we have orders to kill. Don’t worry about witnesses they will take off when shots are fired. They walk up behind the ladies.

Muchísimas gracias to novelera for your heroic almost daily recaps these past two weeks. And many thanks too to dondi and deb for excellent, helpful comments and, IIRC, an occasional recap. I got back home last night but was still on East Coast time, so although I watched the episode, it was at 1:00-2:00 am for me. I was intending to offer that as my excuse for not really following it, but having now read novelera's recap and dondi and deb's comments, I see I'm not the only one who finds parts of this novela quite, um, puzzling.
I confess that I was surprised when Mayorga made sexual overtures to Crazy Joe, who as far as I can tell was neither surprised nor unhappy about them. I have a vague memory of one of there being a similar occurrence earlier in the novela, but I could be wrong. Even if I'm right, I have no recollection of who was involved. Pedro? Adonis? ??
I was also a bit surprised that Paco proposed to Diana. Isn't he old enough to be her father? Then again, apparently that may be what she's looking for.
I've been disappointed in this novela for quite a while, and I was delighted to see that another novela, No Te Puedes Esconder, has been announced for the 10 pm time slot starting Monday, September 30. Which means only 7 more episodes of Preso. Then again, I'm not thrilled with what I've seen of the short previews of No Te Puedes Esconder, but at least it will have only 10 episodes. It will be followed by season who-can-count-that-high of El Señor de los Cielos, which I definitely will not watch, having given up part way into season 2. I'm waiting for La Doña 2.
I can see that I'm babbling, so I'll end this now.

Santi and jota leave, Santi is determined to prove his innocence and win CataG back, CataG calls jota back, she wants to know what's wrong with Al, after some coaxing jota spills because he knows of their love, it's AIDs, and gets the hug that Santi didn't.
Al is restless not knowing if CataG is alive.
Dayana's hitman kill Mirta, (but not Liset, what?) Hilda is with Sal as Zulma the store clerk comes with the news. Liset is destroyed, she wants to join the DEA.
Calvo reports in on Lucrecia, he wants to ice the nanny, nope, till Diabla gives the word.
Lucrecia is at the Buscaloo site doing searches on Valeria, peeping Calvo is watching from outside, Patricia clicks on her short life with these guys and runs off with the taxi and albeirito, and I think Calvo's phone.
Hand and company are having a drink (morning till noon) as Val checks in, on speaker phone she spills, Titi warned CataG, guns are drawn, and as things shake out it ends up Titi and dra Pilar against all, Dayana's reason for turning on him, hey I would kill my own mother, Diabla puts everything on hold as she wants to be there to see Titi's face, but wait Titi has a friend, a handgrenade.
Nelly is listening from afar to Val's calls.

Clara is dead. Carmelo et al have to leave, but he wants to take Clara's body with him so her daughter can say goodbye. Tuerto is furious with him--they have to leave now. He pulls a gun on Carmelo but finally backs down.
Paco tells Diana that he's almost 50, and he'll be an old man while she's still young.She doesn't care. She's in the bathtub and she pulls him in, fully dressed.
Chinta is caring for her mother, Hortensia, who seems to be mentally confused. Chinta thinks her mother needs to be in the hospital, but the mother refuses. She wants to be at home with Chinta and her brothers.
The doctor tells Caro that Hortensia has suffered a stroke. She refuses to go to the hospital, and without her consent, he's powerless.
Carmelo and the others are on the run. Two squads of men are after them.
Isa comes to see her grandmother. Hortensia tells her that she knows she's pregnant--her instincts tell her this. She also tells Isa that she, Hortensia, had to get married. Her mother took her to a witch who got rid of unwanted pregnanies. She tells Isa "I won't take you to a witch." However, she also says that Isa is too young to have a baby.
Sara is feeling useless in the hospital. There's a flashback of her meeting with Miranda. Miranda tells Sara that she loves Carmelo, but he doesn't love her. She came to the hospital to get an abortion, but she was told it was too late. She doesn't want Carmelo's child. She just wants to forget, but she can do so only if Sara will take Miranda's son.
Some Special Forces guys enter a military hospital. One of them tells the nurse in charge that she and the others all now report to him. Just then, there's a cry of pain from a burn victim. The nurse does't want the burn victims to be treated at that hospital, but the Special Forces guy says that they will remain there. [Apparently this is where Mayorga and Crazy Joe have been brought.]
Dosal tells Rivas Macin that Carmelo got away, but others were killed or injured. Mayorga is in serious condition. There's also an undercover CIA agent, Joe Moreno. Rivas Macin knows about him. CJ has burns over 80% of his body, so he can't be transferred back to the United States. RM says he doesn't want CJ transferred. "He's a vile assassin. If he survives, he'll be taken into custody." As for Carmelo, he is an outlaw who attacked the military and an American agent. "We have to act accordingly."
Isa visits Sara in the hospital. Sara tells Isa that she knows their grandmother is ill. She also tells her "I made a pact with Miranda--something that will change my life." [So she has agreed to take charge of Miranda's child?]
We see scenes where Crazy Joe, covered in burns, is writhing in pain and Mayorga, less visibly burned, is also in pain. He keeps looking at his right side, which we don't see. Has he perhaps lost an arm?
Ricardo tells Diana that her mother is dead. She at first refuses to believe him. "Not now when I've finally found her."
Sara calls Iturbe. She wants to tell him something very important [the pact with Miranda?]. But he has apparently seen the burn victims and is deeply troubled by what he has seen, so he's not attentive to Sara. She's furious with him and tells him they're through.

Sara's wound has opened. They have to stop the bleeding. They need blood donors. A bit later, the doctor says they have to perform a hysterectomy, but they need Caro's permission. Caro reluctantly gives it. Isa tells her, "Sara will have a baby, you'll see."
Hortensia is out of bed looking for a paper that was in her bag. She tells Chinta that she had a DNA test done on Sara, but she can't find the piece of paper.
The truck carrying Carmelo and the others has a mechanical problem and can't move. Some people go to find a mechanic while Carmelo, Tuerto, and some others remain in the truck. Suddenly a fairly large mob of angry people attack the truck and insist that it be moved or else. Tuerto tries to explain that they're there in peace, and that the truck's motor doesn't work so they can't move it. The mob start attacking the truck and someone says "beat up everyone." [I assume the mob been sent by the bad guys.] Things are looking pretty grim as the episode ends.

So the sisters are living under assumed names (Pérez) and without much money. Looks like Sara has stopped bleaching her hair and has her nephew on her lap. But the kid looks 4, and they said 2 years into the future. And Isa has a boy as well. Sara was trying to convince Isa to work or something. Can't remember what.
Am I a bad person? I truly enjoyed Crazy Joe writhing in pain. I hope they're not going with his somehow getting out of the hospital and coming after Sara. Yes, Mayorga didn't look burned at all, but he was in a lot of pain.

I had my doubts about doing the recap while still on such shaky ground about all that I missed while I was away. Of course, I couldn't possibly have done it without the recaps and comments from the two of you and deb. But even with them, I clearly missed a lot, plus some key points from last night's episode. One major miss: I glanced away for a few seconds and missed the "2 años después," so I didn't realize that this was in the future. I assumed it was something I missed while I was away and that it showed a time in the past when the two girls had to live under assumed names. (I didn't bother to think about the children in these scenes!) I was sufficiently confused that I left those parts out.
I was surprised that Mayorga didn't look even slightly burned, though he was moaning and groaning. (Did they run out of burn make-up?) Like dondi, I suspect he may have lost an arm, since he kept looking at his right side as he groaned.
Like dondi, I'm wondering whether the girls' situation in the future means that this novela is not going to have a happy ending. Arrgh. And I agree, novelera, that the older boy seemed to be about 4 years old, not 2.
Dondi, I'm assuming that since they need blood donors for Sara, it's likely that it will be easier to find a match if Carmelo is her father than if her father is Ramses.
Novelera, I don't recall Carmelo getting on top of Tuerto's body to shield him as the mob started beating them. Mirta’s murder was just a message to Liseth? That was a big mistake for the bad guys. Liseth will make a good DEA agent. How long does it take to complete training? Hilda will have to find new seamstresses.
Was Arturo an onlooker at Mirta’s murder scene?
Titi raised his glass to the Italian, Spanish, Russian narcos that were killed. And to those who will soon be gone and will never come back! Titi was the only one to drink to that toast. Titi and Moncho had guns pointed at each other under the table.
Security at Lucrecia’s? Maybe she has a camera somewhere. She seemed to have a sense someone was lurking.
It’s all about respect: They didn’t count on Titi making his badass move. He just happens to carry around two grenades in case of emergency! How anyone managed to survive that….
Titi the fortune teller: Diabla will come for you Dayana, Black Hand and you backstabbing Mari!
Dayana made her fateful choice. Her survival instinct kicked in, but I think she realizes Titi is playing a better hand now (no pun intended).
LOL, Calvo! That was a highlight. I enjoyed his anxiety. But Diabla doesn’t have anyone else right now she can trust for the Albeiro job so he might live to see another day.
The pieces of the Diabla puzzle are coming together. Lucrecia and Nelly are on the case. Will Diabla try to get rid of them by turning Alfonso against them? And I am hoping Patricia will spill before it’s too late.
