HIJAS #14 BIKINIS, BODACIOUS BODS AND BACK STORIES

Part 1

Well, it's official. Estefania really is perfect. She has the implausible proportions of a Barbie doll. The other Juanas are also rockin' those bikinis...except for Juana Inés naturally, who comes out in a militaristic wet suit, complete with heavy nun footwear. When Mauricio (foot fetish?) attempts to remove those heavy contraptions, she resists. But he's still smitten. Don't ask me why.

Elsewhere, somewhat more believably proportioned Margarita is gaining traction with Juan. They're walking arm in arm in the Plaza (and being surreptitiously photographed) and she's spinning the tale that it will be a loooong time before she falls in love again (hah!) after what that sleazy Alberto did. Juan is sympathetic and they hug. More incriminating photos.

At the same time,Seb and Juana Victoria are flirting with danger, standing very close as she questions why he came along on the weekend. And brought Estefania! Well, he couldn't stand the thought of her and Fernando off in this idyllic place without him. "Checkmate buddy! Estefi was crying on my shoulder yesterday for fear of losing you. She deserves the best, so make her happy bubba!"

For some reason, the best part of these scenes for me was seeing Barb doing some crunches while all the rest just swanned around flaunting their incredible bodies. Girl is task-focused. Bravo! There are no days off for fitness fanatics.

Back in Mazatlán, Leonora is camped out on her bed, fielding phone calls and disturbing photos and screaming into bed pillows. We also have a few resounding NO PUEDE SER'S!!!!! Just wouldn't be a telenovela without a ream of those.

And we have a back story of sorts. Soledad is telling Octavio about her loss of family early in life and ending up in an orphanage. But it wasn't all bad. Her visioning ability has enabled her to "see" and "talk" to her mother and brother. Octavio, more of a grounded sort, looks positively spooked. But still interested in a carnal way, shall we say.

And speaking of carnal, Seb and Juana Victoria almost kiss later in the evening, as he emerges from the waves in a wet suit himself, carrying some kind of shell containing another shell inside. To him it symbolizes their secret love. Eyes lock, lips draw closer, thundering surf swells in the background....and Yikes! Vicky draws back, reminds him they're sibs and Estefi is right there and could see them.

Okay then. Who needs a cold shower?

Juan is questioned by Mundito, spokesperson for Leonora, and tells a big fib. No, he wasn't in the Plaza today. He was off in the island looking a big turtles. Which reminds me, I was taking a walk in our nearby park today [in the pouring rain...you know how fitness fanatics are] and practically tripped over a huge turtle myself. Have no idea what that fella was doing there but he really does not belong on a bike path. But I digress.

The beach evening gets even cozier as they build a lovely campfire [fogata] and gather round to listen to Mauricio's guitar and lovelorn songs. Except it triggers an unfortunate fight. Inés (in dark glasses) requests Ave Maria. Nope. Estefi wants a song her Dad loved. Mau lets loose and tells her Dad is a sleaze and even drops the ball on his role in the doctored video of the Juana's supposed inheritance plot. Tears, denial and the evening is pretty much ruined as Estefi runs off and Seb trails after her.

Vicky looks pensive and cradles her love symbol shell in her hands.

HIJAS #14 BIKINIS, BODACIOUS BODS AND BACK STORIES

Part 2

Leonora, it seems, always has a Plan B. And she needs one, now that Juan is downstairs signing a new will which will divide his estate into six equal parts, wife, son, and four daughters. NO PUEDE SER! So Plan B, suggested by a pal, is to contract a professional tattoo artists to prove that those incriminating birthmarks are really just tattoos, put there by Mastermind Criminal Juana Victoria. Seriously, does anybody think that our Vicky, as portrayed, could come up with something like that? I mean she's a fun gal, but has not really led with her IQ so far. But again, I digress. Kind of easy with this one.

Estefi is cuddling with a reluctant Seb and wanting confirmation that he dad really is a good guy as she believes. He's sorry she learned about the video scam and is disillusioned. But it's the truth. Dad has done some shady things. She cuddles some more, lovely tears drip from her mascaraed eyes and she eventually falls asleep. They sleep that way all night. Again, does anybody sleep all through the night? Without getting up to...you know.... I guess I did once upon a time... But I digress. Perdoname.

We get another Back Story. Mau suffered growing up and Octavio, who lived with them for a while, can confirm it. Dad always favored Estefi. And forced Mau to study business administration even though he has, deep down, a heart and soul for music. But no, he doesn't hate Estefi. She's great. Not her fault that Dad thinks she's a princess.

Good. We've got that sorted out.

Given Fernando's sad tale in a previous episode, we can surmise that all these fellas have had unhappy childhoods are desperately needing the love of a good woman. And if said woman look absolutely fantastic in a bikini, all the better! (Juana Inés, please re-think your impossible modesty. Mauricio awaits.)

Okay. Not just back stories, but a seance! When Vicky learns of Soledad's ability to communicate with her dear departed, she asks her to try and contact her mom Rosaura. And Soledad does. She "feels her energy" and reassures Vicky that her mother is at peace.

Octavio, who's lurking around the corner and doesn't really buy into this mumbo-jumbo, juices up the atmosphere by blinking the lights and making the curtains wave using a fan. But Lo! something spooky really does happen. The fan shuts off and the wine glasses shiver and tinkle all by themselves. A spirit passed. And "Energy" moved. Octavio now really does looked spooked. As well he should.

Estefi and Seb awake the next morning, looking remarkably fresh and she re-iterates her love for him and her mission to make him happy. And since it's Saturday night, she definitely has a plan for that!

Hijas

Happy a hollows eve! Patio. The kisses I'll take and a heart full of sweets.

The episode today was rather funny. That silly Leo hired a tattoo guy to
Try and rub off the crescent moon birth marks. Inez the ex nun runs runs
Away and floats out to sea, poor lil silly girl. I guess she say "ain't no-
Body lookin at my buttmoon". Lol.

I was lookin at jaunO when he was in the outer office with the boxers Moma, I don't her name, he looks like he was
A good lookin guy in his younger more
Ajile days.

Deb was actually standing there in his
Birthday suit. His butt was probly seen I mexico. Maybe. My dad used to say the butt of the chicken was the last part to jump the fence. Which has
Nothing to do with seb's butt. Why amI
Talking about this? Dont know, lol.
Ok I'll read the recap later.

Ok y'all have a S W E E T time. And check the candy before your eat it.

Thanks Ms Chick

HIJAS #14 BIKINIS, BODACIOUS BODS, AND BACK STORIES

Part 3

The day has dawned and everyone is frolicking in the surf, and then sitting down to a fabulous meal (prepared by whom?) Oh well, who cares? they don't get to eat it, because Leonora arrives right then with a burly tattoo artist in tow who's going to examine the girls with surgical precision and latex gloves. Alas, it's looking like the girls are all for real. Barb, Soledad and Vicky pass the test with flying colors and cheeky butts.

But let us draw away from that painful scene for a moment. Elsewhere drama is playing out. Margarita is bouncing around Juan's office, tidying up papers and proposing that she become his unpaid secretary. After all, he's already done enough by giving them all room and board in his hotel. And she's bored blue doing nothing. He agrees and she's so excited she give him a big, pero muy big! hug. Whoops. This romance is catching fire don't you think?

And even bigger drama at water's edge. The tedious (let's face it, Inés is a total drip so far) Juana Inés has fled the immodest flaunting of birthmarks to hide herself under smelly tarps in a rowboat. Rowboat pulls loose and she drifts further out to sea, unaware of what's happening.

More drama back at the beach house. Leonora comes up empty. Estefi is disillusioned that future mother-in-law is such a mistrustful harpy and thinks only of money. And Sweet Steffi is doubly disillusioned by her dad. Wah! Leonora, feeling betrayed and disappointed as well, stalks off. (Okay, I'm way past bikini days, but let me just note I loved Leon's wardrobe today. I'd wear that in a New York minute) But I digress.

Oooh...another dangerous moment with Vicky and Seb. While Steffi is talking with Leonora, Vick has managed to walk in on a totally nude Sebastian. Both full frontal and back views are enjoyed. And it's nothin' but Good News! For one thing, he's clearly not her bro'. No birthmark. For another...Nopis, he points out that the lack of a birthmark in no way proves he's not Juan's legitimate son. Oh well. There's a little more happy staring before she decides to apologize for barging in and let's him get dressed.

And outside, our frolicking young folks suddenly realize that Juana Inés is nowhere to be found and leap and run and jump around heading to the beach. Ah youth!

But wait! we're back at the hotel. Mundito is sharing his latest letter about his mom finding dragons in the Amazon. Teresa is looking bullets at Todoelmundo, letting him know she realizes he's faking these letters. He looks concerned. She looks pissed.

Sister Inés, meanwhile, has finally lifted her head up out of the tarps and realized that she's out in the middle of the ocean. Waaaaay out. She yells for help even though she's so far away it would take a speedboat to reach her.

Are we worried? Of course not. This is Marshmallow Fluff with a Cherry on Top. But it will be interesting to see how they mount a rescue. And if Mauricio is the one who saves her.

Stay tuned Lovely Patio. And get your mitts out of the Halloween Candy!

HIJAS

Thank you for your recap, Judy. I had time to watch, feed the dog, walk her, feed myself, and then we are off to a hockey game. No Halloween candy for me tonight.

Lots of shirtless 6-pack abs and bikini scenes to make everyone happy today. Yay!!!
Our guy with the Pepsodent smile didn't have much of a 6-pack, though, or a tan. #disappointed The other guys sure made up for it, though.

Barb doing those crunches by the pool made me laugh, too. The girl is focused.

Margarita and JuanO just have to become an item. They're getting too much screen time together.

I liked the little smile on J-Victoria's face after she saw Sebastian sans boxers. Not sure if it is because of the (ahem) landscape or the lack of half-moon birthmark. Or both. ~wiggles eyebrows~

J-Ines is just dumber than a rock. Bless her heart. Probably every other episode will have some dumb thing like this. My eyes might roll right out of my head. But it beats murders out the wazoo during Prime Time.

MAÑANA

Scene: At the party, toasting ceremony, el brindis. [New word for me.]

Almudena, Camilo's first love and Rafa's mom, is introduced to Camilo's friends and associates. The men are delighted, the women less so. Monica and Diana watch her carefully; their eyes get big and they grimace every time Almudena calls Camilo "Bizcochito". Definitely a flirtatious lady. She alternately plays with her hair and then with Camilo's tie. Too bad Monica and Diana are rivals because they now have a common "enemy"   :-)

Lidia, Luis' sister, arrives then hugs and kisses Luis. Nora watches this stunned and jealous, then gulps down a drink and looks for another while Lidia goes to the bathroom.

The ideal couple arrive, but then Margarita finds out that Regina did not attend and she flips out, causes a scene leaving everyone mouth agape, and she leaves.

Manuel apologizes for her and also goes to leave, but he is surprised to see Lidia coming out of the bathroom. He is amazed and delighted to see her again, but she is intensely hostile, while he is totally confused. What did he do to her? He insists she talk to him, but she has had enough; she puts him in a lucha libre hold, roughs him up slightly, tosses him into the ladies' bathroom, and leaves the party. Wow. (Note to self: Self, don't go fooling around with any lucha libre babes. _ _ Reply from self: Ha! You should be so lucky!)

Anyway, I suspect that there has been some serious misunderstanding here, and that Lidia's time in jail is involved.

Pablo and Regina have a fine time spray painting stored barrels of contaminants and doing other fun eco protester stuff, then they go joy riding for a while, complimenting each other, flirting, high fiving each other and having a good time... unaware that Adrian has returned from the party, discovered the van gone, and notified the police. They stop at a convenience store... and are busted. Ay, qué embarrassing!

Monica and Ximena do a post-party debriefing... and hit the bottle. Lots of alcohol in these telenovelas   :-)

Almudena, in bed, thinks about Camilo... and getting him back.

JudyB, you are such a wonderful doll! I expected this later tonight, but you went all out for us and posted this in your same expeditious manner. Thank you so much!!

The cameras followed J-Vic for what seemed forever when she sauntered out in her itty-bitty bikini…don’t know why since both J-Barb and J-Sol have much more defined curves than she does. And what was that awful thing J-Inez was wearing? For a minute I thought those fluffy pink things on her shoulders were bikini bottoms!

Loved this: "Back in Mazatlán, Leonora is camped out on her bed, fielding phone calls and disturbing photos and screaming into bed pillows. We also have a few resounding NO PUEDE SER'S!!!!! Just wouldn't be a telenovela without a ream of those." What a wonderful actress Cynthia is! Those faces she makes are incomparable.

GTG--more later

Judy Judy judy...thank you!

Chickie. ..."wonderful doll" are perfect words to describe our judyb.

I agree that the other sisters are curvier than J- Vic , but she is the star sister I suppose and brother Seb is falling for her, so.....

Cheesecake & Beefcake -- aka Hijas

JudyB, thank you for this latest fun recap. I didn't watch the whole show, but I certainly read your entire recap.

I think they are overdoing the Juana Inés modesty bit. That bathing getup that she made was simply ridiculous. And how many times is she going to have to be rescued?

I thought that the idea of Don Juan dividing his estate into six equal parts, wife, son, and four daughters, was interesting. Do we know that Leonora has her own money? Otherwise I would expect a larger share for the surviving spouse. But I'm probably overthinking this, it's just a telenovela and none of it should be taken too seriously.

"Vick has managed to walk in on a totally nude Sebastian. Both full frontal and back views are enjoyed. And it's nothin' but Good News! For one thing, he's clearly not her bro'. No birthmark. For another..." Well, tsk, tsk, tsk, Judy!

"Sister Inés, meanwhile, has finally lifted her head up out of the tarps and realized that she's out in the middle of the ocean. Waaaaay out. She yells for help even though she's so far away it would take a speedboat to reach her.

Are we worried? Of course not. This is Marshmallow Fluff with a Cherry on Top. But it will be interesting to see how they mount a rescue. And if Mauricio is the one who saves her."

You're not worried??? Judy, you're a hard woman! I may not be able to sleep tonight I'm so concerned.

:-)

andy

HIJAS

Just grand Judy!!

"Octavio, more of a grounded sort, looks positively spooked. But still interested in a carnal way, shall we say" had me smiling away.

I was a bit relieved to have missed "a burly tattoo artist in tow who's going to examine the girls with surgical precision and latex gloves".

Loved "flirting with danger", "swanned around" (I must remember this one) and " thundering surf swells" were wonderful.

"implausible proportions of a Barbie doll". Wow. I thought that was Mattel’s imagination in overdrive, something not realistically possible. I have to get a gander at this girl.

doris, "Our guy with the Pepsodent smile didn't have much of a 6-pack, though, or a tan. #disappointed". Wow. Then I guess I will have to focus on that smile :)

"For a minute I thought those fluffy pink things on her shoulders were bikini bottoms!" OK. Something else I'm sorry I missed Rgv Chick.

Rgv Chick, such lovely Halloween wishes from you. Thank you!

Judy, what a nice treat at the end of Halloween. All treat, no trick.

Diana (who has dined on Twizzlers which I don't even like but...)

MAÑANA

Thank you for "toasting ceremony, el brindis" - new to me too!

"Don't go fooling around with any lucha libre babes. _ _ Reply from self: Ha! You should be so lucky!)" was great andy.

Likewise "Pablo and Regina have a fine time spray painting stored barrels of contaminants and doing other fun eco protester stuff"...You do a great job of recapping andy, I really wish I were watching.

Diana

Hola Sweet Patio. Well, we had a really windy, brrrr cold Trick or Treat night here in central Ohio. And I confess to having slipped myself a few leftover York Mint Patties once the hordes had passed. You know...the stress and all....

DORIS...Glad you were able to feed yourself, husband and wee doggie and get off to hockey game in good time. And totally agree that Juana Inés" is dumber than a rock...but [this show] beats murder out the wazoo." Still, it would be nice if we had a truly interesting one (like Sin tu Mirada which got us all so worked up) as a daytime alternative to the evening carnage. But...juarever...we'll make do.

RGV CHICK...Oh me oh my--had to get that recap up and posted before Trick or Treat night. Tight schedule. And you're so right--Cynthia is a terrific actress and comedienne. Those big eyes and that hyper-mobile mouth make for all kinds of terrific faces. She's one of my favorites and has been around for years it seems, playing both good and evil equally well.

SUSANLYNN...Good call on the lingering camera work on Juana Victoria being a result of her starring role, and Seb's love interest. Although it did seem like we got quite a bit of Estefania as well. And if we were rating strictly on overall beauty, I think Barbi Doll Steffi would win. She's a "pocket Venus" as the Brits say.

ANDY...You bring up a very good point. Is there a little law school in your background? Poor Leonora has not only four illegitimate daughters to contend with, but a distinctly scanty portion of the inheritance to boot. And somehow, I don't think she brought any money of her own to the marriage. But just guessing. And...hoping you do manage to get some sleep tonight after watching el Hotel de los Secretos. You're a sensitive lad though. All heart. Me--just a cynical old broad.

DIANA...The tattoo artist was creepy/funny. He even wore a surgical mask to do the work. Although I imagine he had rather a fine time rubbing the girls' backsides to see if the birthmark would come off. Did a quite professional, thorough job. No doubt about it--the marks were the real thing. Still, Leonora looks dashing in her duster coat and white pants as she stalked off. I definitely want her wardrobe.

Now about those Twizzlers...aren't those the kind that stick to your teeth? Okay lady! a full two minutes brushing tonight for sure!

MAÑANA

ANDY ANDY ANDY...After all those protestations and "no, I couldn't possibly!" here you are turning out fab, funny, detailed recaps day after day. Wow. Thanks amigo.

The writers have certainly thrown a lot of new characters into the mix...Almudena, Lidia, Iñaki and Rafa's pal now working in the firm. Which is all to the good since we were becoming darned annoyed with the current group.

Sorry to hear that the Nora-Luis stupid misunderstandings are still continuing. And the heavy drinking. Seems to be the answer to any emotional storm or social gathering. For me, a few York Mint Patties or Snickers Bars would be just as effective. And that's why I'm sending our candy horde to our son's office tomorrow. Otherwise, I'd binge for sure. Even without an emotional storm.

Thanks for keeping us up to date. Please let us know when someone drops Mauricio down a Black Hole!

MAÑANA

Judy, Judy, Judy... many thanks for your kind words, but I am not actually recapping at all. You recap, Doris recaps, Anita recaps. And fine recaps they are, richly detailed and generally covering all the important points without fear or favor.

What I post is much shorter and less detailed. In fact, I would totally leave out anything I didn't find fun or cute if I weren't afraid that Anita would out me. These are just quick summaries for those who might want to keep up a bit so as to be able to watch the last week or so when it rolls around and not be totally lost. (All the better to celebrate its demise?)

Anyway, Mañana is not such a bad show now, most of the morbid and depressing stuff is gone, and it's now mostly some silly side stories and the main line: which lucky girl gets to claim Camilo. His first girlfriend back after 26 years? His former secretary of 20 years who has an unmarried Spanish galán just dying for a chance with her? Or his wife of many years, the mother of his children, the undisputed love of his life until recently?

Hint: this is a telenovela.

If you really want suspense worry about Juana Inés out on that vast ocean.

:-)

andy

MAÑANA

Ohmigosh, I CAN'T BELIEVE that we are disagreeing on something mi Andy. I mean, we NEVER do that. But here's my pitch:

There's no Bible on Recaps. They are whatever the recapper wants them to be (well, there are a few rules, no egregious vulgarity and no political references) But other than that, they can be short and sketchy or long and detailed. Melinama, our Blog Mom was a super busy lady with many irons in the fire and hers were short. Funny but short. Jeanne Prickett, who recapped as Schoolmarm, also super busy, got in every visual detail, every conversation in detail, and her recaps took some time to read. UA actually posts literature, with multiple screencaps, different narrators, depending on the show and blows us all out of the water.

I always look forward to Andy Recaps because it's like a good friend, a witty friend, telling me what he enjoyed and remembered about a show he just watched. Suits me fine. Makes me smile. "Gives me a giggle" as Susanlynn likes to say. AND IT'S A RECAP, DANG IT!

But hey, if you disagree, well okay. That's my pal Andy as well. I still like him.

Andy, I agree with JudyB. YOU. ARE. A. RECAPPER! ...whether you like it or not :-) ..AND I have spoken!
:-D

But seriously, I do consider your "updates" as recaps since they provide sufficient information for a person to keep up with the goings on. Most of us are not watching Mañana anymore, but any of us could go back and pick up the story as if we never left...but if it makes you feel better we can refer to your updates as "highlights" ...which, by the way, is a form of recapping. Updates, highlights, recaps...we say tomAto, you say tomAHto...same difference. Jajajaja

HIJAS

I was doing a little "surfing" today and found yesterday's episode (14) on-line. Univision is cutting some of the scenes and one that I especially enjoyed was immediately after the roasting of the marshmallows; J-Vic sings the song about "Hijas de la Luna" and everyone gets up to dance and sing a long. You can see it in the first few minutes of this video--

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fITMLVZxMWw

HIJAS

Thank you, RgvChick! I suspected this has fallen victim to las tijeras de Univision and commented here a couple times already, because some scenes were just odd.

MAÑANA

Andy, just ignore Judy. And RgvChick. (LOL)
Thank you for your commentary a/k/a update on this show.

I FFWD thru enough of yesterday's show to see Monica's new hair (not much of a makeover) and Almaden's, who looked familiar. So I looked her up and the actress was also our not-so-Dulce in Papá a Toda Madre. Which looks like Shakespeare compared to this and Hijas. 😳

TO ANDY ON MANANA
Another voice declaring you to be a recapper...whether you like it or not.

"In fact, I would totally leave out anything I didn't find fun or cute if I weren't afraid that Anita would out me." Do I really come off as some sort of one-woman recap police force? To everyone his own interpretation, I say. Please, Andy continue to be true to yourself. Since "allegedly" nobody is watching Manana except you and I, I have just tried to add, well, a few details to round out what you tastefully serve up. Call it icing or cherries, or just plain afterwords.

I thought, to be honest, that the arrival of Rafael's cougar mom, as delicious as she appears physically, just made all the advancements made in the story so far (trying to redeem itself) fall off the cliff. The reaction of the two women who are after Camilo was too contrived. Ximena continues to be the agent provocateur for Monica to continue to go after Camilo. She just doesn't know when to leave it alone. Give me a break.

Entirely too much time was spent on Pablo and Regie's caper. Yaawwwn. Maggie's comportment at the brindis fiesta was also unbelievable. She's definitely not cozy mum material any more. Twin maternity dresses? Give me a break.

And, do we really need the introduction of a new storyline with Lidia being angry at Manuel for something neither he nor we comprehend? Give me a break.

HIJAS - BIKINIS AND BODS for sure, but don't forget the real Marshmallows (as in toasting marshmallows over the fogata) not just the Marshmallow Fluff we are watching.

Thank you JudyB for making us just love the Marshmallow Fluff--filling and non-caloric.

Leo is a one-person antagonist team. She operates alone and is stealing the show whenever she makes an appearance. Dario is a familiar run-of-the-mill antagonist. Deny, Deny, Deny is all he knows how to do to hide his subterfuge. Leo, on the other hand plays her cards right out in the open. Instead of a tattoo artist, she should have brought her doctor with her, (preferably a dermatologist since birthmarks are pretty much their domain). I have to admit it was pretty funny watching the tattoo guy trying to rub them off. I thought tattoos were permanent, but what do I know.

Seb looked as though he didn't mind having JVic take a gander at his full-monty. It's something he wants to give her, but can't as things stand.

Why has no one said the famous three letters DNA. Is this mid-20th Century? Oh, I guess it is.

Thanks again JudyB. You and Doris certainly make this bit of Marshmallow Fluff worth watching and YOU, ANDY, worth reading every one of your pithy comments.

Good to hear from you Anita. Great pithy comments on everything. How was your Halloween? We had a reasonable mob but still there was enough candy left over (no marshmallows though) that I had to send our son off to the office with a big bag of it.

HIJAS #15 IS IT WRONG TO BE SORRY INÉS GOT RESCUED?

Part 1

Yes, the tedious Inés is still with us, and if she makes the sign of the cross one more time, I'm going to scream. Don't get me wrong, as a good Lutheran, I make the same sign. But not every five seconds for every picadillo. This child is such a dweeb. Soooo ready for a makeover. But I digress....

Now, onto the episode.

When we last saw her, Teresa was looking daggers at Todoelmundo. But when she learns that he fakes those letters so Mundito will never know that his mom actually ran off to Chicago with another guy, she's all warm, melting caramel eyes and tender glances (yes, I'm actually suffering from a major Candy Hangover).

Meanwhile, tedious Inés is being towed back to shore by some noble fisherman. General consensus of the group is that she's crazy. But Mauricio thinks she's adorable. Ah, the blindness of infatuation. Sure keeps the world turning and the hospital nurseries full.

Later, in a little brother-sister confab, Mau apologizes for bursting out with the ugly truth about Dad and Estefi comforts him. She also shares her regrets at seeing him dissed and humiliated by their father over the years. Big, long sisterly hug. Yep, Steffi remains perfect. Beautiful. Built to order. Inside and out.

The rest of the gang is frolicking in the water when Juana Victory meets up with a sea urchin [erizo de mar] and is carried to shore by Seb --while she screams like a banshee. (Really? She was stung on the wrist. There's nothing wrong with her legs--nor her lungs.) Turns out it IS a serious business. Can't pull out the "espina" since it's poisonous. She'll have to go to the hospital and be operated on. With general anesthetic no less! Wow. Seb vows to be there all night for her. She insists that he go spend his requisite evening of passion with Estefania. Fernando meanwhile is also lurking in the hospital waiting room, worried about her welfare and also hoping to score romantic points by staying staying at her bedside. This starts the inevitable antler-bashing scene with his cousin. Which Steffi artfully dismantles by saying that SHE will stay with her dear sister-in-law. And begs forgiveness from Seb for opting out of their pre-connubial bliss.

Wow. What a nifty turn of events. Seb looks like a hero instead of a reluctant fiancé.

Meanwhile, the Beach Gang is feeling a bit guilty about not hovering at the hospital as well. And they should! The whole passel of 'em should be there, drinking endless cups of coffee and logging a few visits to the hospital chapel. Instead, they decide to play a game. No, not spin the bottle as Mau first suggests, but rather Truth or Consequences. Barb gets picked first and is asked Her Greatest Fear. After giving a fake, easy answer and being called on it--she finally fesses up that her greatest
fear is to be abused again and humilliated as she was by her stepfather.

HIJAS #15 IS IT WRONG TO BE SORRY INÉS GOT RESCUED?

Part 2

There's a moment of uncomfortable...but sympathetic silence..and then the bottle spins and turns to...yes, the tedious Ines. Question: What is your darkest secret? Naturally Ms. Tedious won't tell. Not for anything! So her punishment is to be buried in wet sand for an hour. Yawn. Though her indiscreet nurse sister later relates that sweet Inés now has sand EVERYWHERE, including DOWN THERE! Jeez. Too much information, Soledad.

What's our pesky Leonora been up to meanwhile? Well, she's still in my favorite outfit and worse yet, seems to be a matching set to Dario, who's also sporting beige and white. Uh oh. She drops the dime on Steffi's disillusionment with Dad Dario now that she knows about the video caper. And they figure Mauricio is to blame for that. Later, Leonora's chatting with her coven of soul sisters and they advise that she stick like glue to Juan until she can discover the two-timing wench is that's strolling hither and yon with him. Sounds like a plan. Leonora will start working the front desk at the hotel!

Now, before I lose my train of thought, have any of you noticed how elegant Leonora's maid of all work is? The lady looks to the manor born. She looks like she should be bedecked with pearls and swanning around a mansion herself. Weird.

But I digress.

HIJAS #15 IS IT WRONG TO BE SORRY INÉS GOT RESCUED?

Part 3

Vicky is now coming out of her surgery and anesthesia and murmuring indiscreetly about Sebastian. The nurses look pretty perturbed. Luckily, the irreproachable Steffi doesn't come in until all danger has passed. And lays a ton of guilt on Vicky as she insists "I'm just where I should be. Not with Sebastian but with the sister I've always wanted." Yep. Just perfect. Inside and out. Top to bottom. To all four winds. Mercy!

Back at the beach, our indiscreet Soledad is now gathering info on Octavio. What's he really like? Seb and Mauricio have known him forever and while he has the rep of being an "ojo alegre" [a guy on the make] when he's serious about someone, he's faithful as a bird dog. And was devastated when his novia Gladys cheated on him. That's all Soledad needs to know. She heads down to the beach where Octavio is having a thoughtful moment with the surf and starts to snuggle up. He dashes away. Seems our down to earth Octavio is totally spooked by a gal who can communicate with the "más allá" [great beyond] and the dear departed spirits.

Gosh. Are you worried that this romance won't take flight? Our sensitive, tender-hearted Andy may be. But not yours truly! No way.

Our other perfect, irreproachable character is good brother Javier. He's patiently listening to Juan stress about how to clean up his daughters' damaged reputation in town. Doesn't say a thing, but suddenly Juan has the solution and takes off.

Okay. Back to the beach. And beach volleyball. A risky business in bikinis, but who am I to say? A fully recovered Vicky is swatting away as are all the others. Anyway, in the heat of the game, Ines and her enormous sunglasses fall on Sebastian. Who croaks, "I know your secret Inés!" Before she can go into more hysterics and signs of the cross, Papa Dario arrives in high dudgeon and orders everybody off his beach and out of his beach house. NOW!!!!!

Vicky and Barb stalk off with a few rude comments. Steffi and Ines both glare silently. Mau is ready for a confrontation and gets the worst of it. He's a useless twerp and furthermore an ungrateful idiot for offering the beach house without asking Papa first. Steffi meanwhile seeks tearful refuge in Sebastian's indifferent arms, wailing that her daddy didn't used to be like this before and she's just soooo disappointed. She adores him. But gosh, why is he like this?

Back at the hotel now, Ines is hand-wringing about Seb guessing her secret. But Soledad is able to reassure her that Sebastian's big reveal is that Ines is having so much fun with the group, it's clear she does not have the proper vocation to be a nun.

Problem solved!

Onwards. Juan is startled to find his better half manning the front desk. And rather well, I must add. Ditto for Sebastian who passes by later. And then turns and wants to know if he's really Dad's offspring. After all, there's that little question of the missing birthmark. Lots of eye-rolling and Heaven Forfend! looks from Leonora and an emphatic OF COURSE YOU ARE THE LEGITIMATE SON OF JUAN OROPEZA!!!!! He departs and she throws in a few more eye rolls for good measure.

Evidently the plan to clean up the Juanas' rep involves breaking into Dario's business at night and making copies of both the original video and the doctored one. Mission accomplished with Todoelmundo's expert help. Meanwhile, Vicky is burning the midnight oil on her own computer trying to figure out genetically how Seb's absent birthmark can be explained. Unfortunately, she understands nothing.

HIJAS #15 IS IT WRONG TO BE SORRY INÉS GOT RESCUED?

Final Part

Leonora, still on the look-out for that man-stealing hussy actually misses Margarita strolling by. Oh well.

Final scene is of the puebla gathered in the village square, watching the original video and then the doctored video being projected on a giant screen.

Will the populace realize their heinous mistake and once again clasp the innocent girls to their collective bosom?

Tune in tomorrow and find out. Our Tedious Inés has made the sign of the cross once more, so we'll settle back and pray for the best possible outcome. (And hope the Good Lord isn't as weary of her as we are!)

Lots of typos and mistakes again. But hey, I can't go back and correct once it's posted. And I never said I was perfect. Not like our little Ms. Steffi!

Thank you, judyb. This show is cotton candy ,but I still refer it to the blood and tears of Dragon and Cuba. Uff. I mostly watch for the beach scenes since I love the beach.

I have never seen the rival woman portrayed as a perfect Stepford female. Very unusual. Estefi is a petite, perfect Barbie doll living in the Barbie dream house. I predict that she will end up with Seb's cousin Fernando (_Mr. Trivago).

Why would these folks run a perfectly good game of spin the bottle by changing the rules?.

I love Andy's "recaps" (?) Of Manana , too. Maybe we could refer to them as " Andycaps. "

HIJAS

"sea urchin [erizo de mar]" and "ojo alegre" [a guy on the make]" were my favorites Judy, I'm sure no surprise there. Wonderful recap.

"...she's all warm, melting caramel eyes and tender glances (yes, I'm actually suffering from a major Candy Hangover)" had me nodding in vigorous agreement.

"Yep, Steffi remains perfect. Beautiful. Built to order. Inside and out". I have to get a look this girl. Now that Rgv Chick has so kindly provided links, perhaps I can watch a bit.

Andy, I'm sorry but you are clearly outvoted. Your comments were always wise and very witty so it stands to reason your recaps are as well. I love your and Judy's banter.

Susanlynn, "Andycaps" sounds great. We will see what the author himself things.

Long week Judy. Thank you for the humor and vocabulary.

Dian

Ummm, that was me Diana, clearly too tired to A) know her own name; B) too tired to check my typing or C) both of the above...

Diana, I hope that you get some rest and re!taxation this weekend. Stay warm.

HIJAS

Thank you for your recap! I will watch this episode some time tomorrow and comment on it afterward.

The urchin spine seems bad enough (general anesthesia!) that it's odd that Juana Victoria was back playing volleyball. .... the same day? Ah, youth. Telenovela beanie hat time, IMO. Aluminum foil liner might be necessary for the rest of this sillyvela.

Susanlynn - I LOVE "Andycaps"! You are brilliant!

Diana - I'm so happy to still see you still posting here.Watching the show is not mandatory. Nope, not in the rules or guidelines. 😊

"Estefi is a petite, perfect Barbie doll li". Great minds think alike. Her face looks like a plastic Barbie doll. That complexion so sooo perfect.
I want to hate her and just cannot.

MAÑANA

[Various scenes combined, wantonly misrepresented, ignored, misunderstood, etc.]

Adrián & Manuel receive a call, the van has been recovered, so off they go. They recover the van and bail Regina out of jail, but leave Pablo there to stew. [And I agree with them; I'm disappointed big time in Pablo for involving Regina, and we knew something had to go wrong with their illegal caper.]

Meanwhile, Ximena gives Moni lessons in being sexy and captivating because they are planning to crash the restaurant dinner for the newly arrived Almudena, and Monica needs to outshine both Almudena and Diana. Ximena agrees with "our" Doris and says it's true that Monica somewhat fixed herself up ("medio arreglaste...") including her hair, but she has to do more if she wants to compete with Diana and that fashion model, Almudena.
I enjoyed this scene: Monica doesn't want to compare herself [she used "comparar", there's probably a better way to translate it than "compare"] with those two, and Ximena tells her it's not about "comparación" but "renivelación" (thank God for Closed Captioning) and Monica repeats "renivelación" sounding out every syllable.
[I thought for a moment that Ximena had just invented a new word, but while I couldn't find "renivelación" I did find "nivelación" so I suppose she's talking about taking it to a new level. Hot diggetty dog! I am legitimately thinking about the Spanish! Maybe I will get that merit badge!]

Diana and Camilo are again sleeping in the same bed, but Camilo maintains his distance. At some point he gets up while Diana sleeps, goes into the bathroom and lights a cigarette. He's thinking of the three women, Monica, Diana, and Almudena.
Monica is tossing and turning too. No cigarettes for her though; she reaches under her bed and pulls out a box of emergency chocolates. And later has sweet dreams starring Camilo.

Lidia is staying with Luis and they talk about her problems finding a job. Luis decides he will see if he can get her hired at MediaLink. And he tells her "Mañana será otro día" and she replies "Ojalá que sea un día mejor." How clever.
They laugh, and Luis tells her she did him a big favor tonight; Nora saw him with her, his so pretty sister, and was jealous, not knowing she was his sister.

[Warning! Serious positive character development follows!]
Paloma cooks Rafa breakfast and thanks him for his help and support. He tries the breakfast and turns his head so she doesn't see the face he makes   :-(
Paloma goes to see Laura, she tells her she learned that Laura is adopted, Eugenia is not Laura's mother. Laura rushes off to confront Eugenia, and Paloma ruefully looks at the check she got to keep silent about the adoption.
Laura confronts Eugenia and wants to know if it's true about the adoption. After all, it would explain why she was always the unwanted and neglected child, the ugly duckling of the family. After a while, Eugenia admits that she "did not bring Laura into the world."

(cont.)

MAÑANA, pt. 2

[Well, this is embarrassing. I was 67 characters over the limit for an individual post. Sheesh!]

Regina visits Pablo in jail, he wants her to erase some incriminating files on his computer at MediaLink. Regina, who is not hiding her pregnancy at all these days, goes to MediaLink and opens Pablo's computer when no one is watching. She finds the files and looks at them (but I couldn't read her expression as she looked at photos and videos of protesters), and her finger hovers over the mouse, ready to delete the files...

Luis asks Camilo if there might be a job for his sister Lidia at MediaLink. Camilo replies there are no openings, they don't need anybody, but does Lidia like children? Maybe she would like to work helping Diana manage the house and kids. Yes! Luis is delighted.

Monica is settling into her new role at MediaLink and things are going well, but when she tells Malicio she wants to review the business ledgers to familiarize herself with all aspects of the business, he balks and tells her it's not necessary, etc. She finally has to put her foot down and insist.

Monica and Camilo, both a bit nervous, have a heart-to-heart talk. Monica especially wants to know if making love to her really had significance for him, meant something to him. After beating around the bush a bit he admits that, yes, it really meant something to him.

Cheesecake & Beefcake -- aka Hijas

JudyB, thank you for your excellent genuine recap recap :-)

"... her punishment is to be buried in wet sand for an hour. Yawn. Though her indiscreet nurse sister later relates that sweet Inés now has sand EVERYWHERE, including DOWN THERE! Jeez. Too much information, Soledad."

Jeez, Louise (and Soledad), yes, too much information! The thought just gives me the willies and, although I don't usually tell people this, this has been a recurrent nightmare for me for years!
Okay, okay, a smiley: :-)
But really, who wants sand in the works?

Susanlynn, "I have never seen the rival woman portrayed as a perfect Stepford female." Hmmm, I always thought of the Stepford wives bit as a bad thing... maybe I need to rethink that.

:-)

andy

MAÑANA

Ah, another delicious Andycap to start my day! This sassy opening line was my favorite:

"[Various scenes combined, wantonly misrepresented, ignored, misunderstood, etc.]"

Yeah, I suspect I've done a little wanton misrepresentation in my time as well. Of course those were the times you and I disagreed on my presentation of events.

As for the rest, mostly I just shuddered reading about the events and what was said, thinking" Thank God I'm not watching that any more!" Comedies that involve infidelity bother me. And yet, for some reason Juan is so clueless in Hijas that I'm like "Oh well. In the past. Doesn't matter." Maybe it's because Cynthia Klitbo, as Leonora, is playing it for laughs as well. Whereas, our long-suffering Diana...well...

Also happy that someone else has been bedeviled by that notice that HTML can't post comment as written. Happens to me all the time and I sweat bullets worrying that my copy and paste move won't work, after I've deleted paragraph after paragraph of my recap. That's MY nightmare. Getting a little sand in the nether regions is no big deal.

Anyway, Saludos y Enhorabueno, Fellow Recapper. Enjoyed yours immensely.

PS And goodness, I thought all guys loved Stepford Wives. I remember that movie quite well. All the women were bosomy, wore tight-waised, big-skirted dresses and high heels to grocery shop and lived, really lived, to make their husbands happy in every way...IN EVERY WAY!!!! You're telling me guys don't want that?

Oh well, another dream died.

HIJAS

SUSANLYNN....Everybody loves your suggestion of Andycaps. It's now official. And this was so funny:

"Why would these folks run a perfectly good game of spin the bottle by changing the rules?"

Oooh, that's bringing back some bad 8th grade memories. Those boys' idea of a kiss was grinding their braces against your miserable lips. I'd just as soon have Truth or Consequences I think.

DIANA...So kind of you to check in after another long, miserable week at work. By Friday evening you must feel like absolute mush. I know I do, and I don't have near the stress that you carry. And if you ever do get a chance to see some episodes on line, you will indeed note that Estefania is "perfect". In fact, that may be the problem. She's so perfect, she's boring. They say that every great beauty must have at least one imperfection to be interesting. Miss Estefi does not. Maybe that's why Sebastian is so intrigued by his bushy eyebrowed, horrid haired, big toothy half-sister. (Of course he hasn't seen her in her perfection mode as she was in La Reina Soy Yo.) Or perhaps, it's her sass that he likes. Steffi is kind and sweet and loving and...well sometimes you want a little something piquante with your beans and rice, know what I mean?

DORIS...Thanks for checking in. I'm assuming Vicky did not use her bandaged wrist to swat the ball, but honestly, who would even be cavorting on the beach immediately after surgery? Thank goodness "it's just a story, just a story". And of course, absolutely impossible to hate our perfect Barbie doll. She's perfectly nice, perfectly built, covered by perfect skin--and she knows how to cook perfectly delicious meals! And does so. She's every man's dream except Sebastian's.

MAÑANA

Andy - thank you for a most entertaining andycap! No doubt it is far more entertaining than the episode itself.

HIJAS

Sand in the nether regions does not appeal. I don't like it in my shoes, so I've never understood sex on the beach scenes. Ew. Ever shake sand out of a beach towel or blanket? LOL

HIJAS

JudyB, thank you for such a snarkaliciously sweet recap. I'm usually multi-tasking as I watch the episode so I miss quite a few details...like the sand in the NETHER REGIONS, but I don't mind missing stuff like that because reading it in your recaps is so much more fun.

But when she learns that he fakes those letters so Mundito will never know that his mom actually ran off to Chicago with another guy, she's all warm, melting caramel eyes and tender glances (yes, I'm actually suffering from a major Candy Hangover). Yes, yes, we can see that you are in candy overload--"Caramel eyes" LOL

I was racking my brain trying to figure out where I had seen "Estefi" before so I looked her up. For those of you who started seeing Doña Flor, she was Samantha! But in that TN she had long, straight, fire-engine red hair...she was part owner of the casino.

MAÑANA

So now we have "ANDYCAPS." Puurfect! Thank Susanlynn for finding the appropriate term we can all agree on.

Andy, thank you for that fabulous Andycap, I enjoyed it from start to finish. Can't say that I enjoyed what's going on, but at least you make it fun. So Camilo admitted that having sex with Monica meant something to him. Wasn't he drunk as a skunk? Did he even know who he was with? Idiot (to put it mildly) !!

CONGRATS to JudyB and Andy!!!!

JudyB, you made it to the sidebar and Andy, you made it to the (top) main bar!! WAY TO GOOOO!!

RGV CHICK...Great. I loved Andy's Señor FFWD! And I'd almost forgotten our Chucha...I'm looking at that like Huh?....

Candy Overload by the way is an insidious disease. It makes you regret sending the leftover Halloween candy off to your son's office. Sigh...

MANANA and HIJAS

Andy, "Monica is tossing and turning too. No cigarettes for her though; she reaches under her bed and pulls out a box of emergency chocolates. And later has sweet dreams starring Camilo". Just wonderful. Welcome to the world of recapping. What fun.

Even though I'm on the outside looking in, to all of the esteemed recapper and commenters her, I appreciate you all for bring sunshine into a busy day.

I'm on my 6th straight day at work and needed a break. Thanks to everyone above for making me smile. What a great group.

Diana

Oh Diana...what a nightmare. Working on a Saturday! Ugh. Sending you some virtual hugs and some equally virtual chocolates.

Thank you Judy!!!

You are so kind. Chocolate sounds wonderful right about now.

And yes, I I feel your pain about giving away the leftover candy. I brought all mine yesterday and there is not a trace of it today! Little mice I suppose :)

Diana

Funny how fast it goes, isn't it? I always thought I was the only bad parent who snuk into her kids' rooms while they were at school to score some candy for herself. But I have since learned it is a widespread practice. Ay yi yi! Always kids at heart...and not in a good way.

Mañana, Hijas, and OT, all perhaps a bit jumbled

Judy, thank you for your kind words. But somehow I find it hard to imagine you doing anything whatsoever wanton.   :-)

I am now enjoying Mañana. I did not much enjoy the first half for obvious reasons, but I think it's now a better TN and I'll stick with it. OTOH, if I had known going in what I was going to endure watching the first half I would have skipped it completely.

"All the women were bosomy, wore tight-waised, big-skirted dresses and high heels to grocery shop and lived, really lived, to make their husbands happy in every way...IN EVERY WAY!!!!"
Gee, since you put it that way...

Judy and Rgv Chickie, Re infidelity, nope, nope, nope!
The men are absolutely blameless. Juan was hopped up on that herbal whatever-it-was, and Camilo was, not drunk but hallucinating after taking one of Ximena's blood pressure pills.
See how nicely that works out?   :-)

Rgv Chickie, thank you for keeping track of the episode numbers. I had no idea and wouldn't know how much longer Mañana would run otherwise. Wiki tells me 77 episodes, so we're more than halfway through.
Ha! This could have been the one TN where nobody complained about Univision's cutting and splicing, especially cutting.

Doris, thank you, and I agree completely, "... I've never understood sex on the beach scenes. Ew." Double Ew. (WW ???)

Diana, I hope you will stay with us, it's nice to have you here. But please do it comfortably, don't feel you need to comment much, or at all, on things you haven't seen. The pleasure of your company, as they say, is more than enough. Just let us know you're here.

Susanlynn, thank you and I'll be sure to send any beach scenes I get your way. I don't want 'em, you can have 'em, they never loved me anyway.

I am suffering with telenovela overload. I watch and enjoy El Hotel de los Secretos and I watch Mañana , and I very casually watch Hijas, and I occasionally and reluctantly watch La ronca de oro. This last is a Colombian telenovela based on the life of singer Helenita Vargas and set in the 1950's through 1970 or so.

My watching this came about because I often visit the nearby 92 year old widow of a friend. She is quite infirm and has a Home Health Aide who just loves this TN and has it on at the time I usually visit. So I sit and watch with them, at least for a while.

It's OK, and sooner or later there will be a different 6 PM telenovela.

But I need to cut back somehow. Hijas, I'm looking at you.

Ya know, considering the telenovelas we have to work with, this daytime patio is amazingly active.

:-)

andy

HIJAS--
JudyB--Another gripping retelling of a heart-in-your-throat, edge-of-your-seat episode. What WILL come next? NEXT! Can't wait for your next. Thank you for this one.

Some answers: For Halloween, I do NOT buy candy or anything else. Between 6-8, my porch light stays off and I hunker down in the dim light of my tv screen. Call me a Scrooge, but it's all in the interests of my health. Bully for you sending extra candy to your son's office. I'm no saint....I always have a tray of Rice Krispies (Extra Special--has extra nuts, Bits o' Brickle and a chocolate topping) Treats on hand, I just don't keep them under the bed.

No, it's not wrong to be sorry JuanaInez was rescued--well at least not so early and not so easily. They should have made it more dramatic. Sharks circling the row boat. She loses the paddle, she gets thirsty, it rains then the sun is too hot. She gets weak. Then the cavalry arrives--well, maybe the equivalent of the Mexican Coast Guard in a fleet of large and small ships. She's taken aboard and JuanO gets the bill for the rescue. TA.

Only one thing to add, which I thought was funny about JuanaInez consequence was that JuanaSol spent the time with her drawing the human body, complete with ribs and I could have sworn in the last scene, which was cut off promptly, she put nipples on the breasts.

Andy and Andycaps. You will certainly go down in history. You have also made it into the Caray Lexicon:

Andycaps – n. Recaps that come a day late but never a dollar short. Self-described as, “Various scenes combined, wantonly misrepresented, ignored, misunderstood, etc.” (Etymology: So named for the creator by Susanlynn [one of Caray’s originals, in more ways than one] referring to the recaps for Mañana Será Otro Día…Mejor.)

OT

Ah, I forgot, today is el día de muertos.

Do people say anything like "feliz día de muertos!"?

andy

HIJAS

ANITA...I love your alternate scenario for Juana Inés' rescue. Like UA, you should be writing these episodes, not just recapping them.

And normally I turn off the porch light and skip the candy these days also. But our in town daughter was bringing their two foster (soon to be adopted) kids plus the little guy up to trick or treat in our neighborhood, since where they live, it's an absolute mob scene. So I had to be prepared. But after staying strong for two days, I dived into the remaining York Mint Patties on Halloween and actually made myself woozy sick.

ANDY...I love that you visit your friend's 92-year-old widow. There's nothing better for one's health than "a gentleman caller". Even better than a Stepford Wife. But now I'm wondering what a Stepford Husband would be like. A sexy hunk who cooked, cleaned, put the toilet seat down and could make love on the beach without a sand disaster (remember, all you need is a good beach blanket to avoid that problem). In other words, a STRATEGIC THINKER.

Well, onwards. No football game today so I may have to make like a Stepford Wife and cheerfully swab the kitchen floor. And whatnot.

INFELIZ DIA DE LOS MUERTOS, maybe?

Well, in am back from a lovely , fancy birthday party at a nice local restaurant , and I loved reading the new comments. This must be ONE OF the nicest places in cyberspace. It was more like wedding reception....drinks, appetizers, delicious buffet, fast cake and cupcakes...however, the birthday girl had a bad case of vertigo and missed her own party . I had to force myself to go because the host was one of Hub's best friends and two other friends (twins) were guests. They were in our wedding and were hub's baseball and wrestling teammates. I thought it would be hard being there without hub, but I was wrong. I got a lot of hugs ,and we shared lots of good memories.

Andy, you are a prince to visit your friend's wife regularly. Now that is galanlike behavior.

Susanlynn - I am so proud of you for going, and having fun, and it likely meant a lot to your friends that you came to the party. (((Big Hug))) to you. 💗💗💗

Andy - kudos and hugs to you for visiting your friend's wife. 💕💕💕

And I still have not had time to watch the Friday episode of HIJAS. 😜. Maybe tomorrow . . .

SUSANLYNN....So glad that you decided to go, and that you had a great time. When one has been married for years and years, used to going everywhere as a couple, the transition to attending get-togethers and social events alone is a very tough one. But you were brave and the great thing was how warmly you were embraced and welcomed. No surprise there as you are so loved on this CarayCaray site, and we have never even met you. But some people just come across as adorable from the get-go.

Like everybody on this Patio, come to think of it.

Cold and gray here, but always warm and sunny on our CarayCaray party place.

Judyb...Sunny here, too, but only about 55. And the non-stop Hallmark Christmas movies are my background noise as I try to get some mostly inside chores done .

I hope that they get poor Michelle out of that awful , ratty wig soon ,and that Juan Inez dials back her scandalized reactions to everything soon. It is getting very old. Still...I prefer it to the cruelty and violence of Cuna and Dragon which are really depressing and demoralizing. At least the beach scenes are fun and sun filled .

P.s. Talked to my host of yesterday's party , and his wife's vertigo is better today. I feel so bad that she missed her big, fancy party.

Anita, "INFELIZ DIA DE LOS MUERTOS, maybe?"

Well, that's funny, but I don't think I would use it.

:-)

Hijas

Are we sure that J-Vicky is wearing a wig? It looks like real hair to me, though not the sort of hair you would see in a shampoo commercial. Unless it was one with a Before and After comparison. With J-Vicky's being the Before.

Um, well, I guess you knew that.

Certainly not up to the standards that Vanesa (Sin tu Mirada) set.

:-)

HIJAS

Hey Nina, always good to hear from you. And I'm glad you like "Andycaps" because I think it's a keeper for sure. And you made me laugh with "Did she step on a wabbit with those giant shoes". I'm surprised that she could move at all. They were really clodhoppers.

Well, you probably missed Hijas because you were working. And the work you do is a lot more important than this silly show. But we're glad you stop by on a regular basis because we love hearing from our Nina.

And in passing....looking for help next week. On any day you pick...Doris, Anita? If you can, let me know. Mil gracias.

Oh and Andy, I don't think it's a wig either. I think it's just Michelle's normal hair when it hasn't been smoothed down and blown out straight.

HIJAS

Judy - I can take Wednesday or Thursday. Just let me know.

HIJAS

Thanks you Doris. Wednesday would be great.

JudyB--I'm sorry I can't help this week. I'm doing Wednesday's Dragon (at 10 pm) and need the next day to recover and clean-up for company coming in Friday and baking for a friend's birthday on Saturday.

OT

How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways!

- Snarkilious recaps (thanks to JudyB, Andy, Doris and Anita)

- Alternate Scenarios (e.g. Anita)

- New and unique vocabulary (e.g., "Andycaps" by Susanlynn and defined by our illustrious Anita. BTW Susanlynn also gave us "Hopeos")

- Friends who are supportive, encouraging, and always have a kind word for those who are going through a difficult time. Susanlynn, I'm so glad you found the strength to join your friends who seem just as supportive as your Caray family. Andy, how admirable that you take the time to visit your friend's wife...galáns do exist!

- Dedicated friends who visit patios though they can't watch and have an unbelievably heavy workload (e.g. Diana)

- Insightful, interesting and humorous comments that support other's thoughts and add so much more to TNs that are otherwise drab, dark, or just plain dumb.

- OT comments that strengthen the (virtual) ties that bring us together and make us the family that we are :-)

RGV--Hardly OT. Those were very kind thoughts to share. And yes, I have Susanlynn's Hopeo in the lexicon. Others to titilate you are nerfazos, escaleracide, second tier lowmance, patio of lowered expectations and vacuum sealed kiss. Publication date TBA.

SAMPLE ENTRY
Patio of Lowered Expectations – Virtual location furnished with tables, umbrellas and drinks of choice. Viewers choose a table around which to congregate and support characters. Seats not reserved. Shifting to other tables usually follows shifting plot lines. Viewerville has learned that in order to enjoy this patio, love, ecstasy, hope, solid storyline and believable characters are rare, but enough to make it possible to get to La Boda at the end. (Note: In the last couple of years, bodas have fallen out of favor, replaced by a paltry El Fin—thus lowering our expectations.)

(((Chickie)))) well said, and I agree completely. In an ever darkening world and cyberworld, caraycaray is a warm spot of brightness and positivity where we can share our human condition. I might not see you, but I see who you are.

Anita, can wait to browse through the Library of Caray Lexicons :-)

Can Wait? Oh, ok. Maybe next year sometime.
