El Dragón #23, 10/30/19: We Was Robbed!

Miguel gets the call from the head of El Salado's northern region (Z????) who's always got a phrase of English to show his roots.  "We was robbed!!  They stole our boats!  Right from under our noses!!" (Time to get your 2nd head back behind the zipper.)

The two regional heads meet with Mig to complain and say it was his idea and if he can't put a stop to this kind of "in your face" theft of merchandise --then get out of our way, and we will!   As far as the regional capos see it Mig had a crap plan and it failed.  They already lost half their men in the big shoot out rescuing Dora, now this!  Bullets is the only way to rid ourselves of this traitor!  The two heads believe it was Epigmenio but Mig says they all could have been sold out by their own men.  Mig promises he'll determine first if it was their own men or others who helped pull this off.  He'll get it back.  He's a man of his word.

At the same time, Chano and Pig make a deal with El Halcón, head dude of all CDMX narcotrafficking, to sell him their stash of "...er...stolen?" drugs.Halcon surmises and half accuses Pig.  They have it all well hidden--Tacho in charge of protecting it--.  Nobody gonna know till there's a deal done.  Halcon will pay half today and the rest upon delivery tomorrow.

Adela gets an unexpected gift bag full of chocolates from the handsome young banker, Victor.  She tries to learn his last name but screws up in her search for him in the high clouds of the building where banking takes place.

In Techie Towers, meanwhile, Flaco has been searching online for a hint of where their boats are docked.  He's lucky and hits on them at a certain marina near by.

Miguel and Peligros drive there.  Peligros advises Mig that like his abue before him, he's got to maintain respect and reputation, no matter the cost.  Money isn't an object.  (Naw, but fighting off the Serbian and Chinese Mafia is!!)  This deed must be reckoned with!!  The two pick through the junk left  on the boat their men sailed away on.  Mig eventually finds a pair of distinctly ugly, pointy-toed yellowish shit-kickers--definitely Tacho's.  "--Tacho's!  It wasn't our guys, after all."  And where there's Tacho, there's The Pig right along side.

So, back to the garage for another meet with El Salado's regional heads.  "--Amazing how that cat always lands on his feet!  [Ese gato cae parado].  El Z says the only reason he's gone along so far with Mig is out of respect for his granddaddy.  Blonde dude says its seems Pig is slyer than you.  Mig says,"No matter, we'll get it back." White Hat snickers.  "--You never give up, do you?"  The only reason a guerrero lives is to fight and the only reason to fight is to win!"  White Hat laughs at Mig's Japanese philosophy again.  El Z says he cannot imagine how he'll do it.  Mig puts him in his place: "--That's why I am the one in charge here!"

Across town, El Serb learns that his rival, El Halcon just bought 500 keys of efedrin.  He screams for his daughter and tells her it's in the same marina as their drugs were supposed to have been and funny that Miguel Garza hasn't contacted them as planned.  El Serb sends her off to find out why and get their drugs/investment back.  He then calls Mig to tell him the same thing about El Halcon and what a coinky-dink this is.  Mig doesn't seem to know the dude.  He refuses to answer El Serb straight about their delivery but does reply that he's a man of his word and he'll get what's due him.  Click.  He's warned by his men that if it is Pig, he doesn't have much time to put his plan into effect.  On his way out, Peligros mentions it will be like finding a needle in a haystack.  Mig nods and says yup.

Pig, meanwhile, visits Carlos and asks for a secure route to/from somewhere.  He's sold some merchandise to El Halcon and those are El Salado contacts.  He wants something else of his own and away from El Salado.   Carlos makes the call and it's done.  The only hitch is Pig has to wait till tomorrow.  Pig is upset and says it has to be now.  Carlos says that's impossible because he's dealing with people who are honest and naive, so he has to scheme around them.

Hector meets Ana, Carlos's secretary, in the park to get information from her.  She doesn't have time right now but he really wants to see her, he insists.  She offers to make dinner for him in her apartment tonight.  He plays along.

Ade sees one of the contractors and discusses the changes she would like to see in the plans for her foundation's building.

Adri and Chisca are at the gym, arguing over how Chis is obsessing over Valentin who obviously has been using her.  Chis accuses her of being envious.  Chis blows Adri off and leaves the gym alone.

Chis arrives at Techie Towers to again persuade Flaco to get the bug on Val set back up in her phone.  He refuses and it's Mig's orders versus hers.  She tries to seduce him but he tells her to drop dead.  Let him work.  She races after him and starts a row.  Adela walks in and tries to help out.  Chisca blows her off --"Oh, you going to offer me a lift, Ms. Chauffeur?" and starts a second argument when Ade tells her not to speak to her in that way.  Jimena comes out and tells Ade to drop it as there are people trying to work here.  She then invites Chis to her office for a drink and a chat.

Jime tells Chis that she's well aware of Chis's drug habit.  Jime says she has a deal for her.  Chis is all ears.

Serb Girl surprises Mig by attacking him from the back seat of his truck on the way to discover more clues.  He admits calmly that the drugs are missing and he's on the trail of the guy who took them: Epigmenio Moncada.  Why should she trust him?  He pulls the gun out of her hand with more Japanese skill sets and tells her when he hands the empty gun and bullets back to her, that his honor is worth more to him than a few keys of amphetamines.  She's going to watch is every move now.  He welcome to come along--since she doesn't plan to take her eyes off him anyway.   She jumps into her own truck and as her driver follows, she follows Mig with a red laser dot from her high powered rifle on Mig's head.

MIg notices a van driving past him with a logo on its hood that reminds him of one he finds on the abandoned boat at the marina.

At the same time, Peligros is trying to find out something about Tacho and posse in the area of the marina by paying off one of the bartenders in a nearby bar.

Hector tells Claudia that he's got a dinner meeting with Carlos's secretary, Juana that night and cannot join her for a couple of beers while Ana's off at her parents hiding out.

Mig traces the van with the logo and ends up at a warehouse where he sees men in uniforms doing various odd jobs.  Serb Girl and he smile at each other.  Yup, this must be the place.  He gets out and knocks out a guy (hides him maybe in a closet) and steals his uniform.

Hector lies to Ana that afternoon after work about his dealings that evening.

That evening after work, Victor is waiting with a rose in the waiting area.  He invites her to dinner and she refuses.  He plays dead on the floor and says he's lay there unless she says yes to dinner.

Jime and Chis go to Jime's place to discuss a few more details of her plan.  She can keep Miguel occupied and convince him to bring in certain merchandise from CD Jimenez; Chis will keep Ade away from Mig in the long run.  Chis likes the plan.  They drink a toast to it and Chis leaves.

Juana and Hector get to her apartment and Juana offers wine.  Her fluffa puss is the major attraction here, for Hector as well as Viewerville.  He wants to discuss business and get answers.  She thinks he's there for another reason --and single, apparently.  She takes his wine glass away and suddenly is all over him.  She applies a major lip-lock which Hector, thinking about it momentarily only, decides is worth getting the information he needs.  What a sacrifice --NOT.  (FF>>FF>>)

Inside the warehouse at the marina again, Tacho is ordering workmen around.  A tall guy in a uniform with a hat on is moving a large cart.  Tacho calls over to him and asks what he's doing over there.  We see from another angle (as if Viewerville hadn't already guessed) that the man is actually Miguel.  Ruh-rohhhhh!!!

Jardinera: Good Job on the recap.

Thanks, Jardinera, great recap of a slow moving episode but at least there was no carnage.

I don't blame the associates for thinking Miguel is inept; they probably see him as a little boy trying to get into the major leagues with a blindfold on.

And what was with laser girl? Did she really think she was going to scare Migalicious by continuously pointing her gun at him?

My favorite scene was watching El Flaco turn down Chisca. WTG, Flac-OH!!

So the two vipers, Jim and Chisca, are now going to work together to keep Adela away from Migalicious. Good luck, w(B)itches.

Gracias and bien hecho!

Chisca could end up ground up by Jimena. She stoops to the worst extremes to get Miguel, who is in the worst position possible now. He will need all the top ninja tricks for this escapade

It also looks like the writers are pouring on tons of bad girls to contrast with Adela whom I think is too folksy for someone like Miguel. This Serbian one looks psycho to me.

Thank You Jardinera. Yup, best scene of the night was when Chisca resorted to the oldest trick in the book, "Do what I want, and there might be some of THIS sweet stuff in the deal for you." and Flaco shut her DOWN.

It appears that even LaserButch is susceptible to Migalicious' Samurai charms. Later on, she had borrowed the fluorescent pink lipstick from the other girls, and a faint smile tried to take hold while she played laser tag with his head.

If the money is not that much of a deal, Migster should just open a Tae Kwon Do school. Cause he aint worth a shit at what he is doing. Like "Patron, they stole our stuff." "Huh?" "Pig jacked our boat MG." "Crapsickles, I need to call Dora, she will know what to do." He does have the Vulcan sleep hold down pretty good.

Setting a concrete deadline to a solution when you just learned about the problem is a recipe for disaster, even for a cute Samurai.

The wire rim glasses initially made Heck look intelligent, his actions don't.

Hate to even admit it, but the gym scene was true to life. A good friend (Adri) tries to give Chisca an inkling of reality, and she is accused of attempted man stealing. "Wait, you flushed? I wanted that one."

Adela's suitor Vic sure seems persistent. I hope it is for the obvious reasons, but keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you, Jardinera, for another excellent recap.

I find it interesting that the writers have created so many aggressive women seducing the men, while the men are the ones resisting. Sign of our times ?

Kirby, "The wire rim glasses initially made Heck look intelligent, his actions don't." I was very disappointed in Hector. It really surprised my that he would go to such lengths to get info. He's always slinking back from Claudia's advances and now he caves to someone he barely knows...just to get some (probably) worthless piece of info? Are there ANY decent good guys in this show?

resisting. Sign of our times ?
NOT HERE

Re..Hector: WTF? Does Mexico have arranged marriages? I wonder as I watch him and Ana, had he ever talked to her before the marriage? And then there is Claudia, who resigns herself to sleeping alone or some such. I suppose I understand, if he had already plowed that field, though I am not a farmer myself.

Thank you, Jardinera. Once again the recap was helpful. I'm liking Victor so far and am hoping that he wins over Adela. I agree with UA that she seems too folksy for Miguel. I am missing Howard this week. Alejandro Avila is one of my favorite actors. Tacho left his expensive boots on the boat? Really?

How many 'fun size' Snickers is too many before Dinner? Is 30 too many?

Kirby...no....not too many. I limit myself to one tiny Hershey bar with almonds, but There's no boss of you, so you can have as many treats as you want. ( Does this mean there will be no Snickers left for tonight's little trick or treaters ?)

Noooo...There is a formula I use to determine how much candy to buy based on how far in advance I buy it.

Dove Promises. All types.

Yum. I surely want to see what kind of harebrained scheme Migalicious has to get out of the warehouse with his 1. Ephedrine 2. Life I am sure Peli man of silent death is lurking around somewhere. I mean, this is not like Chisca lifting a Rolex in her bra, there is fork lift quantities of stuff here. Even a cool Samarai can not outrun bullets pushing a pallet load of drugs.

Remember that faint smile which was trying to take root on LaserButch's face? Maybe she can help. But they are still outnumbered. And also Samarai Boy has that spay neuter no kill thing going, so he can't just killem all and let God sort it out. I don't know, he seems to have gotten himself into a real pickle. And if he botches this up, the good bad guys are gonna kill him.

Anybody wonder how long these two felines Jimena and Chisca can maintain their alliance?

Thank you Jardinera, for another fun filled and action packed episode.

Bleh! How could you do this Hector? He needs to learn where to draw the line. Even his "work wife" is not happy with him.

I wonder how Miguel will get out of this one. Come on now, pushing a cart around where he can be seen? Is he going to use his martial arts to take them all on?

Kirby: Love the nickname, "Laserbutch" LOL!

Thanks, Jardinera. My faves:

Mig eventually finds a pair of distinctly ugly, pointy-toed yellowish shit-kickers--definitely Tacho's

He refuses and it's Mig's orders versus hers. She tries to seduce him but he tells her to drop dead.

I don’t mind bad girls Chisca and Jimena trying to keep and Adela apart. I like Adela with Mr. Banker. Interesting that Mr. Banker is in finance just like Mig. Coinkydink?

The wire rim glasses initially made Heck look intelligent, his actions don't.

Kirby, ITA. This crusading journalist is looking very small.
