El Dragón #16, 10/21/19: Evasions
Labels: dragon
So Vlad's daughter's life is not taken and she calls him to say she is alive. And he is : "OK, that's cool, go to Grama's." I was somehow thinking he would say something like Where are you, don't move, and I will be right there. Oh well, she must be another of those resilient, resourceful gals like Adela.
Speaking of Adela, I wondered if the US Armed Forces are aware of how much protection a Wal Mart patio table affords against AK-47 and Kalashnikov machine gun fire. Saved Ms. Adela. Boy, nothing, (except Miguel Gaza) flusters her. After the attack which kills what appeared to be around a half dozen, they wade out from amoung the bodies and are strolling along the Marina. Oh Yeah, Miami is a magical place sometimes.
She has gotten a nibble or two from Miguel, but can't seem to set the hook. Listening to music in one ear together, up close, as dictated by the wire length on the earbuds, something was supposed to happen, right Adela? Probably time for a wardrobe malfunction, don't you think? Your singing isn't going to land you on "Reina de la Cancion' and it aint gonna land you between the sheets with anyone with ears either. Sorry.
"[That's at least another 10 IQ points down the crapper.] Hmmm when it gets to zero, does it just flat line, or can we have negative numbers? This pair deserve each other if for no other reason, than so they will not pair up with anyone else. What a perfect storm of evil and stupid. Have fun kids.
Obviously the truth will have to eventually come out about Chisca and Not Val. When Miggy finds out we shall see how he takes it having been deceived and lied too over the long term by his bestie. But he does not appear as sharp as his station in life would indicate. I wonder if he mostly got there through inheritance, dishonesty, and shirtlessness.
Stock manipulation is definitely a crime, but not one I see Miguel getting punished for. However, this is only Week 3.
Kirby, "this Lizard...er Dragon show really is a head scratcher sometimes: Sometimes?? And not just head scratching, but I'd also like to pull on some of the characters hair.
I am really not liking Chisca and Not Val...can we just have them disappear?
About Adela, "Your singing isn't going to land you on "Reina de la Cancion' and it aint gonna land you between the sheets with anyone with ears either." Poor thing can;t carry a tune if her life depended on it, but I just love to watch her try. Renata must have had a blast filming this show.
Considering what he did to her I have to wonder how she can stand to even be in the same country with him.
It is hard to watch Chisca , who seems to be her own worst enemy.
Gotta go...the spring went on my garage door opener. Have to find someone to repair it. #homeownership
Since when does the IRS chase people down in a police car chase? Because I’ve done taxes and have taken Federal Income Tax courses, this all looks so hokey to me. The IRS sends you letters, then they will audit you. If after an audit if you don’t pay up, then you to tax court. If you lose in tax court and don’t pay up, then the U.S. Treasury Department will send their team (they have guns) to your house, seize all your assets, to collect what they want and you can go to jail. I can’t even figure out why this is part of the story because it makes absolutely no sense.
I agree, Chisca is her own worst enemy and she is going to do herself in if she doesn’t get help. I do see lots of hope for Jorge though. He’s very intelligent, but socially very awkward.
RGV Chick: You are so right about Adela’s singing. She will never even get an audition anywhere with that voice as she doesn’t seem to be able to carry any kind of a tune. Everything she sings sounds exactly the same.
Adela catches on fast, but does not think ahead. Well, when she started working for him, she didn't think she had to. She was just going to be his chauffeur. Now the times are a changin' and she needs to know what she's in for. She can't expect him to protect her physically 24/7.
Valentin is the kind of guy we love to hate. There is nothing redeemable about him. And he's not that good-looking. At first I thought he was being played by Gonzalo Pena (of AAM--who got cheated out of a Premio, in my opinion), but thankfully he isn't.
Cynthia--I said I'd look up the IRS code, but you covered it perfectly. It's just one of those inconsistencies that we have to live with when a Mexican production company thinks it knows what the laws are in the States. Thank you for the very clear explanation. Maybe we just have to agree that Howard has gone Rogue and can do anything he likes to anyone he thinks is cheating the US out of taxes (or not). Well, Novotec WAS an American company. Maybe Howie was thinking ahead and preparing to nab Miguel as soon as he turns up something dicey.
I’m reading part about WalMart Patio table being durable to withstand weapons of mass destruction and I’m laughing and thinking this has to be Kirby!!! And it was...........thanks recapper....u make everything clearer. Kirby, glad we get to enjoy your smarminess and wit....
Oh I dare say I suspect that is EXACTLY what she has in mind.
But when the baddies had them pinned down behind the WalMart table and I thought she was a goner, as he rounded the end of the table and discovered her, she quick as a squirrel on a peanut slapped the gun away. So the girl does have some moves. Careful Miggy.
Also, on Rulli's instagram someone asked about the Netflix release. and he said the last 44 episodes in six months, So I imagine after time the original run on Univision is done. So, even though we don't get the first 38 here, to binge all at once, we will get the completion before the rest of the world. I can live with that.
Have a nice week all.
Esther
