El Dragón #34, 11/15/19: From Pig Pen To Makin' Bacon Or All Muddy Tracks Lead to Pig

Parte 1~

We begin again with the most memorable scene this past week: Chano, QEPD, blabbing to Hector that Epimanio Moncado is the head of the new drug cartel in CD Juarez and Hector being covered in brain pulp just afterward, courtesy of Tacho and his high-powered rifle shot from numerous blocks away.

Adela, meanwhile, manages to escape the clutches of Mr. Barrio back alley thug (more of a pipsqueak who seems too winded to do much more than threaten - and why oh why does the barrio bum always determine it's something of a macho rite of passage to rape a gal from outside the neighborhood?) With a well aimed knee-knock at his chestnuts and  ahop onto a conveniently parked moto of a pizza delivery girl... put, put, put--Vroooooom! She is outta there and back on her way to where-ever.

With Chano chucked now, Pig appears to tell Chano's former numero uno that he's passed on to the mas alla to meet his maker.  El Numero 1 shakes Pig's hand and is forthwith sent to catch up with Chano in the real underworld's charming charred terrain.  Tacho then reports that Hector got away but he's certain not to say anything as we all should assume harried Hector has been scared spitless.

Actually, Hector is now hurling chunks in Suseso's restroom fountain/sink.  (Great...er...visuals here, BTW.)  A concerned Claudia has followed him into the bathroom to ask for details.  He tells her they're in danger and need to protect themselves.  How could Pig have risen to such heights so quickly?  With a powerful push from none other than Carlos Fuerte, they suddenly surmise.  Everything points to dirty coppers and powerful politicians wanting keep it all of the related murders of the former cartel heads out of the papers.  (Mind melding alarm!!)  Aha!! Pig is trying very hard to keep everybody from knowing he's the thug now in charge, they agree

At Techie Towers that evening, Ade discusses her day's adventure with Flaco.  (Couldn't catch all the chatter.)  They determine she might have been followed; Flaco is able to bring up the video of her walking into their building that morning.  Suddenly the man who she found hanging outside Miguels mini-manse all the time is now seen right behind her casually glancing her way.  Ade asks Flaco to find out who he is--maybe he's out of prison or something.

At the same time in far away Japan, Peligros is waiting in suite and tie outside a Japanese "yashiki", aka, mansion.  An expensive sports car drives up and Goro, a leader of the yakuza, arrives with his main dude.  Mig and his Japanese guardian are apparently hosting a meeting of all the Yakuza kingpins.  Goro is the head bigwig there.  Another Yakuza right-hand-man is Jun.  Mig is introduced and after, he's warned that the guy is impulsive and conceited.  (Yeah, impulsive, I'd say--picking out and paying for a shirt like that!)

Back in Mexico, Carlos gripes at Pig for having taken out Chano and his numero uno the way he did.  It was sloppy, yeah, agrees Pig, but there wasn't time to do it another slicker way.  Pig, though, assures him that Chano didn't have a chance to utter a word to Hector.  Carlos suggests, well, then, they'll just claim it was a regular adjusting of accounts between gangs, "revengeance".  Carlos is confident. "--No reason for the press to associate it with me."  Pig, replies no, but for himself most definitely.  He best lay a bit lower than low for a while.

Meanwhile, Ms. Federal Attorney tell her big squeeze lover/hubby? (who just happens to be a good friend I believe, of Carlos) that she's onto a big case dealing with a new company that is being used to launder money for a crime syndicate that's transporting drugs into the country from Mexico.  "--Who owns the company?"  "--Why, a guy named Miguel Garza.  Do you know of him?"  "--Er..ah...no.  Can't say as I do."  She explains this dude is a guy big in the financial world and that he really knows how to hide his tracks.

Back in Japan, Mig explains his plans and asks for the Yakuza to invest with him.  Jun refuses for his part.  He claims it is too risky.  Old Dude, Goro, declares that Jun, for being so young is way too conservative in his thinking.  Jun says he's too old to know when to stay low anymore.  He and Goro nearly come to fisty-cuffs, but then Goro apologizes (another gang war avoided) and then Mig's old guardian gives the group another 72 hours to consider the proposition.  Jun says he will not need that.  His mind is made up.

Again in Mexico, Claudia gets off the phone and reports to Hector that nobody has made a complaint to the police about the incident in the park.  No witnesses have come forward at all.  Hector says surely there were witnesses and others who at least heard the shots.  Hector, despite Claudia's fearful warnings about its dangers, states someone has to publish the news of what happened.  He will this time only be putting himself at risk.

Ade shows the photo of the man standing behind her to Dora and Jorge.  Dora doesn't recognize him.  Jorge thinks he seems familiar, but for the life of him cannot remember where it might be from.

Hector begins his article that there's a new criminal syndicate in CDMX, El Valle, and his contact, the now deceased El Chano, had only a moment to tell him who the new head of the syndicate was before becoming brain-matter splatter all over Hector: that name was Epigmanio Mancado, a criminal who was recently run out of CDJimenez, and who, in a shockingly minimal amount of time has become head of this new, powerful, criminal enterprise.

Chisca has packed her bags and Valentin is making certain she gets to the airport and gets on the plane.  She promises to tell him all she learns about Mig's new project, but with one condition: he's got to answer the darned phone!  He shouldn't want her imagining things she shouldn't be about him and his soon-to-be (supposedly) ex.  He makes her numerous (as Viewerville knows them to be) empty promises.

That morning in Mexico,  Dora sees Hector's article showing a blocked out picture of Pig that names him the head of the newest evil in CDJZ, the El Valles Syndicate.  Carlos calls Pig and gives him the news.  Pig says this stuff shows up in the news all the time, so what?  What is that now Pig will have a price put on his head and the president of Mexico himself won't even be able to protect him this time.   Pig's got it handled, he'll see.

Parte 2~~

Tacho, is sent to go sneaking around inside Hector's condo, while at the same time, Zaragoza and El Coyote are having it out at Pig's rancho in the stables.  Z accuses Coyote of having turned traitor and keeps accusing him of having sold himself out to El Valle.  Coyote swears at gunpoint that he never would do a thing like that.  Old Z has turned soft and if Don Lam were still around he'd be shot between the eyes and that the end of it.  Coyote begs friendship and the old dude lets him go.

However, Z has gone straight to Dora with what he knows.  El Valles never did sit will with Zaragoza and it's a good thing, they agree, that Mig sent him to keep an eye on El Coyote.  For now they will give him the benefit of the doubt.  It will be Mig's decision and he's not to do anything else right now.

That same morning, Kenia's roomie is waiting in the lobby to speak with Jorge in private.  She tells him Kenia's falling in love and thinks Jorge must be also.  They were great before he interfered so just stay out of their lives and leave them alone.  Jorge must process.....(FF>>FF>>)

On the rancho El Valles? some guy ambushes a worker and knocks him out cold.  He then takes his shirt and hat and pretty much disguises himself.

Lady Federal Prosecutor, Edna's, hubby makes a quick visit to Carlos's office to warn him what his wifey is doing these days and for whom.  Seems there's an American IRS officer, name of Howard ...., who's like a dog with an old bone about something to do with Miguel Garza.  He'll likely not stop until he finds out where all the bodies are buried.  They decide to let Edna continue and he will keep milking her for all the details while they keep one or two steps ahead.

Edna has a meeting with a federal investigator of some sort who will be getting her the down and dirty on Miggy.  "--He's too perfect to be clean..... And, keep it under wraps cuz this dude's a real shark."

Chis shows up unexpectedly at Techie Towers.  Although Kenia distrusts her, she keeps it to herself and leaves to play a few pong games while Chis sweet talks Jorge into giving her the rundown of what and when they can expect the new product to produce.

In Japan, Mig and Jimena are enjoying a romantic dinner after a busy business day.  Jime butters up Miggy's ego.  She has made a great impression on Tadamichi. Mig will show her a couple of museums or tourist sites soon.  (Gawd is she greasy smooth.)  He's back home in Japan and able to think things through clearly.  (It would appear not as clearly as we or Adela would like.)   FF>>FF>>

Back at the Towers, Chis sees Ade and doesn't miss the opportunity to rub her nose in the fact that Jimena went to Japan with Miguel and she's decided to move out of the house--Chis can breathe the fresh air now there.  Jorge has to drag Chis away.  (Only in Telenovelaland would two women have a cat fight like this in front of clients.)

Seems the disguised guy is there taking pictures of El Coyote, having followed him to a secret meeting with Pig.  El Coyote is scared at having been found out possibly.  Pig tells him to cool his jets and just do as he's told: deny, deny, deny.   The guy turns out to be working for Zaragoza and has given him copies of the meeting of the two men.  "--iTraidor!

After her meeting, Ade leaves The Towers and runs into the vagrant she's seen following her on Flaco's videos.  She befriends him and takes him for some tacos and a bit of talk.  He admits to her he's known the family for a looooooong time. She takes it way too calmly but he says he's been hanging around to give Mig information in exchange for some hard cash.   Why?  Because Pig abandoned him and even Tacho won't help him out.  She hands him 500 pesos and he tells her he was the one who killed Miguel's parents.  She handles that pretty coolly as well.  (Yup, Dora will have a successor worthy of her by the end of this tn.)

In Japan(?) somebody gets his throat slit while he's reading in a tub.

In CDMX Tacho goes back to Pig whining that it's been too difficult to find that reporter, Hector Bernal.  It's as if he's disappeared in a puff of smoke.  Pig is pissed.  "--No, he's got to be around somewhere." Tacho better look under every rock unless he wants Pig to replace him.

Back at Pig's digs, the rancho, Zaragosa has El Coyote under interrogation and is showing the bloody faced traitor pictures of his recent meeting with Pig.  Z tells him he can only avoid torture if he admits to betraying Miguel.  Eventually El Coyote does admit mistakes were made--his--and Z gives him a bullet between his eyes.

In Japan Tadamichi, Mig and Jime get the news that El Rai was murdered.  He was definitely more than El Goro's right hand man, he was family.  Tadamichi advises Mig to prepare for war.

Jardinera: WOW! Pig is upping the ante even further. How many cronies does he have in his pocket ?

Steve: it would seem at least one less after last night, je-je.

Gracias, Jardinera.

Are we going to see some samurai action soon? Looks likely.

Adela needs to watch her back and not only because of Jimena and Chisca is an idiot when it comes to Valentin. Nothing new there.

Maybe more later. I will have to rewatch this episode before doing Wednesday's.

Thank you Jardinera! I was pretty impressed that Adela took the news so coolly that Miguel's parents were murdered by this man. I liked your comment that when this TN ends, Dora will have a worthy successor. When I saw Dora talking to Zaragosa saying, "well you know what to do," that is truly so matter a fact, isn't it?

I'm so tired of Chisca. Will she ever grow up?

I'm out of town right now, so subbing for me tonight will be Kirby. I'm visiting my son, daughter in law, and grandchildren right now.

Thank You Jardinera. Wham Bam. Well, apparently Claw-dia didn't get the memo about the restrooms.
Little chofer Adela is all over the place. Against all odds, she is almost singlehandedly running the show.

BTW, I believe Pilar and Kenia pretended to be lovers, when actually both are straight, to throw "them" of Kenia's trail as there is some dark secret in Kenia's past, and she is doing all sorts of things to avoid being found.

I am still amused at Chisca's 'freshly screwed' hairdo. Well, actually, it might not be a hairdo, maybe just an oversight? Still hate her.

So Edna is MARRIED to a Butt Buddy of Secretary Duarte? Oh my. Sometimes you can't win for losing. And she's pretty too, the shame. When I worked in the defense business and got a secret clearance, they went to my home town and talked to people I went to High School with. I suppose they are not as thorough these days?

Uh Oh, war in Japan? Hmmm hope they are more genteel about it than them Messicans.

Cynthia: Everybody is sick & tired of Chisca.

I hope a deadly overdose is in her future.

Thanks, Jardinera. Terrific title. My fave line: ahop onto a conveniently parked moto of a pizza delivery girl... put, put, put--Vroooooom! She is outta there and back on her way to where-ever.

I felt bad for the delivery girl though.

At the same time in far away Japan, Peligros is waiting in suit and tie outside a Japanese "yashiki", aka, mansion.

Rosario would’ve been thrilled to see Peligros looking like a GQ cover.

If I remember correctly, the tattered former hitman is the one that saved the kids when he saw they were in the car with their dad. Maybe Mig will give him points for that, if Dora doesn't get to him first.

So who's the Big Villain here? I thought it was Pig, but now I'm feeling like it's Carlos. Don't like Carlos, but I do like his style. Don't like anything about Pig.

Did anyone think the guy standing next to Miguel at the Japanese mansion resembled him......good work, Jardeneria in recapping,....
yes, Rosario would have approved of Peligros new look....
