El Dragón #57, 12/19/10: Stuck On A Rock Which Is Still A Hell Of A Hard Place To Locate

Parte 1~~

  • Miguel greets the Italian Mafioso Dude who was in on the original negotiations with Valentin.  Mig tells him that Italy was key and has been keeping up their end.  He's pleased but adds that it's a shame the man who introduced them couldn't be there to share the success, but that's what happens to traitors.  Italian Mafioso Dude suddenly feels like the proverbial long tailed cat caught in a room full o' rockin' chairs.  He clarifies Val made his own decisions.  Mig pats him on the back of the head.  "--Don't worry.  I don't consider you a traitor; I never trusted you to begin with." He turns his back to Italian Mafioso Dude.  "--Time to set sites on a new horizon and bring about new ways of accomplishing our goals."  IMD starts to add to the conversation but Ishiro tells him it's time to go.  Head Samurai has dismissed you, dude.
  • IMD wants to be set up in another part of the complex rather than with all the others.  (Viewerville assumes he doesn't trust the other sociopaths to leave him alone.)  Ishi offers to be his personal bodyguard to accommodate him.  Nope.  He's going to the other side of the complex.
  • And guess who arrives next but Jimena in her own pair of CFM stiletto's.  Yup, Viewerville is drop-jaw, saucer-eyed impactado for once as well as Adela.  She holds her tongue till Jime has left them but she lets Miggy have it straight between the eyes.  "--Why didn't you tell me about this?  You told me she renounced her position!"  He tries to explain that he did it so the others wouldn't know she's still working for him.  Some other scheme or some such.  Well, Ade reminds him forthwith that she is NOT the others, as if he didn't know by now, and storms the hell away to check on things for The Bossman.  (Yep.  Head Samurai and Financial Genius obviously has all things under his control but the woman he loves.  He sucks at personal relationships.  But is it nature or nurture?  Viewerville needs to know!)
  • Mig calls Peligros to keep him informed if Pig or his men show up.  So far no word at the island and he's got to start the meeting shortly.
  • A steamed Ade runs into seemingly self-assured Jime on the wooden planked walkway.  Ade says there's no reason now to pretend she likes her or can even stand her.  Jime says she'd rather be friends and it's obvious Mig didn't bother to tell her she was still working for him.  "--Get used to it.  He's that way.  Every day now I feel better not to be involved with him anymore.  "  "--Ade replies with who's Jime kidding?  She's dying to trade places with her; anyway, if you want to call what they had--something that doesn't last from one day to another--a "relationship," go for it.  However, what she gets from Miguel is perfect in every way.
  • Meanwhile, one of the Yakuza buddies of Tamaguchi San is pissed to see Ex-KGB types there, in particular the 6 ft. blond bombshell Mig had his first affair with.  She answers back to the Yakuza that just because her daddy was in the KGB doesn't mean she is going to be the same.  They spit and spat until Mig arrives to break it up saying he'll sponsor her while she's there.  End of discussion.
  • Inside the meeting hall, Ade acts as hostess and explains that their places are set according to the liquor specialty of their particular country.  (Actually a pretty cool idea!)  All sit down but nobody really trusts anybody there.  It's like a bunch of rabid dogs on leashes.  IMD starts asking why isn't Epigmenio's group represented?  Guerrilla General dude from Colombia tells him the body's still mysteriously missing so shut up unless he's trying to start trouble.  Miggy suddenly pulls both their chains in.  Mig explains that Pig's not there but he and Ochoa are representing Mexico.
  • Suddenly in the comm room Trejo gets really excited about what's on the screen.  It's Pig and posse arriving on the runway.  Of course Pig's got to go through the same scanner as the rest of them have.  He passes.  Lobo passes.  They all pass.  They must all hand in their guns.  All do.
  • Pig arrives at the meeting just as Mig ends his introductory chat.  He allows Pig to smell and taste the booze and to finally take his seat before introducing the dragon emblazoned packets.
  • At the same time, Flaco is checking all sites the cameras cover, one by one.  Kenia sneaks into the kitchen and hides then sneaks out past the unwitting chefs, just after the cameras showed nobody a minute ago.
  • In the meeting, Mig explains this drug is the one thing that they can invest in and no longer be seen by police as the scum of society.  They have a pill that gives pleasure without any of the nasty or dangerous side effects the stuff they make and transport now illegally do.  In fact, it's economical and transportable.  Short Yakuza wonders why it's made only in Nepal.  Mig says it's everywhere now and it's a fact.  However if you want to invest you can manufacture it all over the world.  Gross Chechen asks what makes it different from other synthetic drugs.  Mig answers that it does not kill anybody.  Colombian General wants to know who manufactures this and who created it.  Mig says there's no need for them to know that.  Pig gets up and says that means Mig intends to be sole proprietor and lord and master of the industry.  He replies that if that were the case he wouldn't have invited everyone to participate in the meeting (i.e., to invest their dirty dough).  IMD asks for a fifteen minute recess to discuss and think this over.  Mig says fine and they all exit the meeting room.
  • Dora and Peligros discuss Pig's new rancho and the family is located.  She didn't get that information out of big mouth bribable Tacho at the time.  Outside there's some hooded dude in sunglasses that is checking out the back way into Mig's mansion Viewerville assumes.  It's only protected by a chicken wired/chain link fence which he can cut through in a matter of minutes.  It appears Hoodie Dude is planning just that.
end parte 1~~

  • Kenia's made it to a rocky part of the island quite hidden from view and quite a ways away from the complex while everyone in the comm room thinks she's in the rest room.  Once there she cuts out the chip and attaches it to her computer then tries sending her information again.  The navy personnel begin capturing the signals again but there's an alarm that goes off in the comm room and Flaco starts screaming out to the others there's been a break in security.  While she's trying to send her information off the computer, the whole complex undergoes another security check.  The navy knows now that the informant - "Gary's girl" - has tried to contact them but Miguel's more powerful and stops the signal from getting to them in any meaningful way.
  • Jimena informs Miguel at the meeting about the break in security.
  • They themselves must all undergo another check.  Pig tries to humiliate Mig for his lack of carry through.  The guests object till Tamaguchi San explains it's only to reinstall their security once again and they can continue.  All comply.  Jimena bitches but has to go with the expected flow.  Kenia has secretly hidden her chip behind her purse and passes the security scan with no problem.
  • Miggy goes looking for Adela and apologizes.  If he thought she might be guilty of transmitting information out to the rest of the world, she's in such a tiny bikini and couldn't hide a thing inside it. They kiss and make up over Jimena.
  • Ishi now has to do a body search and cavity scan on Blond Bomshell who is eagerly making a play for him.  He can search her allllllll over.  He scowls throughout. (Ishi's love is pure --and Chis is completely safe from any sheet slip ups --unlike Adela, methinks.)
  • Finally, Pig makes it through.  It is now Lobo's turn.  He's the last to go.  Suddenly there's a cry from the guard checking him over.  "--Explosives!  Explosives!!"  Ruh-roh!!!  Does this mean Piggy's going to the slaughter house for market?

Masterful, Jar. I bet you did this on the fly, based on the season and the date, but you delivered a beautiful gift. Thank you.

Question (then I get on the road, won't be back for a while): If this is a meeting of all underworld "business" leaders from around the world, where are the Americans? Are we chicken poooo? Maybe it's only leaders Miggy has interacted with. But what about el tal Jackson (Dora's new client for Transportes Garza), who lost the air shipment? Maybe he was a bad risk.

I was a little annoyed that Adela was not invited to the table. She has as much smarts as any of them. Miggy should know two heads are better than one and she can "read" people better than he can. #doublestandard? (like we had over in Manana Sera)

Jardinera: Thank you for the detailed analysis & specified recap.

1.) Does anybody else know Kenia is the spy ?

2.) Do they know she was a terrorist ?

3.) Adela is gullible again.

4.) Miguel trying out-Casillas Aurelio Casillas LOL.

5.) Edna is still an IDIOT because her husband is always pumping her for information.

6.) Jimena will keep upping the ante against Adela somehow.

Yes, Anita! On Demand, my left foot! Good thing I stayed up to watch last night cus the audio was garbage where I found this epi. I knew the gist of it all. Anyway, I do love the twists and turns this one gives us. I am about to wonder if we're going to get another Japanese head chopping only with Miggy wearing the red dragon tattoo.
Good question about why no USA options.

Ade is useless as a character. She is in way over her head. I mean we're talking major league crime and mafias here. Wrong character type to mix with Miguel and his world. Also, I cannot get over the new body make over Rulli's private trainer came up with. HIs chest looks totally femmy. Hate to say it, but it looks like his bra size beats most of the women on the show. Sorry, but that is the way I see it. He looked more masculine before. Now he looks like somebody's wet dream--certainly not mine anymore. He also looks horrible in that haircolor and cut. Why can't they just leave good enough alone ever???

I'd really like to know Kenia's motivation for all this besides being a selfish twit. She really has no problem with everyone's downfall as long as she gets a free pass? After last night, it's clear she is all in. Can't wait to see how she gets caught and what her ultimate fate will be.

I don't think Adela is way in over her head? She has never complained about "the business" or wished for Miguel to be legit. Which is why her character is as confusing as any of the others. She seems the most normal but she's been all in for Miguel, knowing who he and his family were, from the start. Is love really that blind? In many ways, they are opposites, but Adela has done everything she can to adapt to his world and be useful when she can. She also handled having to be surrounded by Miguel's blonde ex lovers pretty well, except for Jimena, but that was Miguel's fault for blindsiding her unnecessarily, which he finally owned up to and apologized for.

Jimena really got under Miguel's skin when she cast doubt on Adela. He rarely allows himself to get angry and stirred up but he was after that. His words to Adela that he would lose his mind if he lost her were pretty intense, for him, considering he kept it together pretty well after losing Asya. Was that a clue of things to come?

PS: Thankfully, Rulli went back to his normal shaggy hair look as soon as he was done filming, and he loves to post shirtless pictures from the beach on his Instagram. He's in great shape lol.

Great recap. Thank you so much for the detail. It was kind of a slow-moving episode after the last few edge of seat ones.

One point of observation... My brain is ancient and slowing down, but I could swear that was "Lovely" Norton's (from Mañana es Para Siempre) voice as the Naval Radar tech searching for Kenia's signal. Is that a correct observation????

Then again, I'm so glad my brain is so faulty that I do not remember Miguel doing "it" with the Serbian chick. I guess if one were to put a paperbag over her head, it might be all the same......

Thanks, Jardinera. Absolutely fabulous recap.

This whole international crime kingpins having a submit on a secluded island is so James Bond.

Despite everything she's done, I'm still thinking Kenia will try to come clean with Mig cause I think she really did love Jorge. I guess we'll see.

Adela is no dummy for sure, but this is all out of her element. And I think Mig likes it that way. Someone he can love and who cheers him up regardless of what's going on in the outside world.

Niecie: I see either prison or death for Kenia.

Steve

There you go with your famous 'knockoff' lists!!

At least we got our wish with Valentin!

Gracias; I finally caught up.

Since Rulli is back to his normal look, I hope Sofia Castro is, too.

Has anyone else thought of the possible implications of a drug like this? I keep thinking that it could be used by people as unscrupulous as these to rule the world.

Jardinera Thanks: Plastic chest? Just like the girls?

Serbian chick Victoria? Two, one for him in case she blows out hers.

Kenia is dead to me. From here on out she has my death wish. She and Dora can kill each other as Dora is trying to kill Jorge.

Adela had every right to be madf at Miggie. I think he is kinda getting a big head. He has said too many timnes to too many people, "I'm not asking."

Best scene of the night, Adela getting out of the pool. Woof.
