El Dragón #60, 12/25/19: Oh, Happy Day!

  • Adela is muy impactada to realize that Lobo is there chatting it up with Mrs. Piggy, aka Carmen Moncado.  She is even more drop jaw impactado to see the two enter into a lusting lip lock.  She scampers out the door and down to the car where Peligros is waiting with his gun in hand and his heart in his throat.  They race home where the argument over "playing spies" continues.  Peligros says this has got to end!  Ade says no way since  Carmen's about to confide in her.  Peligros doubts it considering the way she hightailed it outta there without so much as a thankee ma'am.  Ade insists she'll think of something to explain it but she's not done.  Peligros threatens to tell all to Miguel if she does.  They separate once Rosario shows up wanting the low down on the beat down.
  • Meanwhile, Miggy informs Ishiro that he's to stay in Mexico.  This should delight him but Mig notes he's less than excited.  (How Mig can tell considering Ishi has one expression: sourgrump.)  He asks him if there's a problem but of course Ishi denies anything but loyalty to the death.
  • Ade has changed to evening wear and Mig is amazed at the change.  She looks like a million and Chispa -- the new, tranquil, sincere Chis says as much.  The happy couple exit stage right to have dinner out.
  • Chis asks why Ishi seems to want to leave.  After all, she asked him to forgive her.  He says he's only staying because Miguel San wants him there.  He has turned not just the cold shoulder, but a iceberg of a shoulder towards her.
  • Back at Carmen's, Lobo's lobido is a loser.  He's too worried about who the broad was that was there.  Not having been able to meet her face to face has gotten his hackles up.  He cannot be certain that she won't tell Epigmenio about them, or worse, is some enemy spy.  (Actually, I think that might be reversed.)  Anyway, lots of folks don't really think Pig's dead and that's dangerous.  They're all suspicious of the situation.  She realizes she doesn't have Ade's phone number to call her with and check up on her.  See!  Lobo tells her how convenient it ain't.
  • At dinner Mig voices concerns that there's something Kenia's still keeping quiet about.  Ade doesn't see it.  She's just glad for the positive change in Jorge now that the two are back together.  Suddenly Big Russian Blond appears with another possible bidnez client in tow.  She stops to introduce him but pointedly doesn't introduce Ade.  Ade introduces herself.  After the introductions, such as they are, BRB hauls off with the businessman without graciously saying good-bye to Ade.
  • The next morning, Ade wakes to watch Mig meditating in front of Asya's shrine.  He asks if she minds but Ade knows enough to say no--or perhaps it's another Bushido act.  Viewerville isn't certain.  It's Sunday, so Ade wants to have a family BBQ [carne asado].  Great idea!
  • However, Dora's pissed that she wasn't consulted when Ade brings it up as the order of the day.  Dora's authority no longer exists.  The mujer of the month is giving orders now.
  • Howard and Edna are a day late and a dólar short.  They now have the island location and will be checking for proof/clues that something untoward happened in the place.  It's all about money laundering as a means of tax evasion.  Hubby arrives and learns about his wife's leaving for something important with Howard.
  • Ade visits her Abuela at the assisted living center to invite her to the BBQ.  They chat about Miggy's package and how happy Ade is.  She won't go; she's just too tired these days.  Ok.
  • Mig calls Jorge to invite him to the family picnic.  Kenia resists the idea of having to see the boss on a Sunday.  Jorge explains it's a family picnic and she's now part of the family.
  • While the meat's on the grill, Chis asks advice from Ade about winning over her brother who is a stiff, dry Japanese type.  "By being direct."  Okay.  [So Chis was.  But that failed miserably.....] Ishi continues being frigid towards Chis.  (I say give it up.  Fight fire with fire, big girl.)
  • At the same time one of the owner's of the new business Jimena's been put in charge of comes in to look over the code that Flaco wrote the past week.  He doesn't like the looks of it.  But, of course, Flaco is at home checking his screens and see that the dude's taken the bait.  Flaco informs Jime.
  • Dora admits to Ade that she's got to get used to the changes in the household.  Ade wonders how Dora ever got used to being the "woman" of a mafioso.  She's aware there are still so many secrets about things.  (She doesn't ever know when she's going to stick her foot into it, Viewerville supposes.)  There's a saying which Dora's very familiar with: "If you want to know the secrets of a mafia head, become his wife."
  • Gary's got the address of the island meeting.  Edna arrives with Howard and the place is scoured but all they find is a card from BRB in somebody's drawer.
  • Mig makes a toast to the family.  Peligros and Ishi are seated at the table.  Chis has been clean one whole month and she makes a presentation of a Japonese dessert for Ishi.  He jumps up embarrassed.  Just then Jime shows up at the party, dressed to the hilt in silk, to everybody's dismay.  --However, it's to make a full report to Mig who apparently was notified and invited her to come by to do this on her Sunday off.  She's got to use another plan to keep things under control.  She will follow orders and thanks him for the continuing confidence placed in her.  (FF>>FF>>)
  • Ana wakes up hubby Bernal who is mourning his life away. (FF>>FF>>)
  • Sales of Efilina are going great and as planned.   Cops have no idea what the coupon/cards are worth.  They think they're worthless junk.
  • Jime and Ishi travel to Miami to propose a new deal for signature with the crossdressing ACDC Leopoldo de Ecogreen.
  • Kenia and Jorge arrive at work.  Jorge says he's back and ready to take up from where he left off. --And why not since he's the boss's brother, he can do what he likes and Flaco's got to take it all with a managerial grain of salt.  Flaco gives Kenia a hard time, though.  She led him on and he knows it.  He's weak and she knows it but acts like nothing's happened.  She asks him to be a gentleman and he acts like nothing's happened also.
  • In Miami Leo objects to signing the agreement that makes Ecogreen the sole owner of all the shell companies that Miguel's put together to hide the dirty money from Efilina sales.  He won't sign since it doesn't come from Miguel himself there.  They tell him it isn't a matter of choice.  He knows what will happen if he doesn't sign.  He still refuses.
  • Ade goes to the gym and makes the excuse of leaving in a rush because her husband was so upset about something she had no choice.  Carmen says she believes her.  She asks for "Mayra's" phone number.  Ade says she's just moved and cannot find her phone and doesn't remember the new number.  Ahemmmmm.  Class begins.
  • Peligros notes that Dora is still upset with the way things are going at home.  That night Ade asks him for fake ID's and a fake phone # to satisfy Carmen.  He refuses to play this dangerous game with her any longer and has to tell Miggy.  Either she tells him or he will.  Otherwise he'll cut him to pieces with that Samurai sword of his!  She's been warned.  "Once warned, there is no such thing as betrayal."
  • The next day Leo's still apparently undecided.  That night Leo starts getting phone messages with  threats come in form of video's of the crossdressing ACDC parties with him as the star.  Then, the next morning he comes home early.  A package has arrived and his wife argues she wants to open it. Ruh-roh. It is lingerie for a man to wear.  He explains that he's being extorted and tries explaining.
  • In Mexico, DF, Lobo tells Pig there's less and less profits due to the sale of Efelina.  Then we see him steal oodles of cash out of the take for the day and put it into a separate bag for himself.

  • He's not touching her again.  If she ever learns he's touched a man again she'll kill him because if he doesn't figure a way out of this...well, she swears her family's reputation will never suffer over this mess.
  • Later that day there's a knock on Howard's office door.  Leo's come to ask for help.  He'll help Howie if Howie will help him.  "--Are we talking about Miguel Garza?????"  Oh Happy Day!

Excellent Jardinera. Thanks.

1. Carmen has been a Drug Mafia Boss' poke du jour far longer than sweet Adela has. Carmen smells a rat as does Loco. Raise your hands patio, if you think this could go badly for Adela.

2. Adela does not have a phone with her nor know her number.? 'DEAD?' giveaway.

3. Stealing a Drug Mafia Boss' Money AND Poontang ? Deader than dead.....soon too.

4. A Stepford Wife from a monied family will NOT stay with a switch hitting cross dresser. Not even in a galaxy far, far away.

5. Chiscass is true to form. She asked for forgiveness. In her world that corrects all wrongs, no matter what you have done. Just ask for forgiveness, and the slate should be wiped clean, right?

6. PS Luuurve Adela's Grammie ............ maybe more than Adela.

Thank you, Jardinera, excellent recap!

My favorite was: "Miggy informs Ishiro that he's to stay in Mexico. This should delight him but Mig notes he's less than excited. (How Mig can tell considering Ishi has one expression: sourgrump.)" and the FFWs which ITA with. Ishiro must have a lot of restraint to keep away from Chisca who is throwing herself at him. How much more direct can she be??

Kirby, lots of rats coming out of the woodwork and all are being noticed. I suppose the "Ultimas Semanas" explains that.

Adela's Grammie is a truly a hoot. There are only a few characters that I like and she is definitely one of them.

I can't believe this novela will end in just a few more weeks.

Jardinera, thank you. Adela is going to get herself in big trouble.

Chis isn't used to people saying "no" to her which probably makes her want Ishiro even more .

Big question is whether we'll see a happy ending ?

Thank you Jardinera!
Well, Adela should figure out (and with her wits, I'm surprised she is even doing this) that if you play with fire, you will get burned. I can't believe she is trying to play Lt. Columbo with Carmen. Columbo may get away with a dumb act, but it only works for him. I would not set foot in ePig's home with Carmen. I am glad Peligros told her that he will tell Miguel if she doesn't.

This whole thing with IRS Howard in Miami is just so over the top unbelievable. They do not care about laundered money. All they care about is if you have filed a tax return on it from earnings that come from the USA.

Steve: Yeah, we will see a hoppy ending. Only Adela and her Grammie will be alive at the end. Now THAT is a happy ending.

Cynthia. Yeppers they don't really care where you GOT it as long as they get their share.

Kirby: Big question is whether Jorge will remember the dirty little secrets & tell everyone what happened ?

Steve he should, as he dreams them every frigging night for---ever. I mean, that is his entire personality, his dreams of the past.
