El Dragón #68-69, 1/2/20: Los Sayonaras or Your Days Are Numbered

This must be quick as my work schedule now has me getting home in the middle of the first epi of the duo.--Edit.
Cap. #68
  • Adela listens again to the 20+ year old recording.  "My father would never agree to transport.  I would have to kill him.  I've ordered sent a bomb."  Too disagreeable to burst everybody's bubble over that hot potato.  She lies to Peligros that she's not found a single clue.  He believes her, natch.
  • Jimena and Miguel discuss a magazine interview with a popular, intelligent and very dangerous reporter.  Mig accepts that challenge.  True to character, Viewerville observes he wants to get to the meat of Mig's secret life.  This guy--not yet 40-- could be the next leader of Mexico!
  • Chis has a tatoo done on her neck of Ishido's name in Japonese.

  • Mig does the interview and listens while star reporter chastises the assistant for not knowing how to properly hide a microphone.
  • Jime gripes to the Techie Tower gang that Pidenos, Inc. was dumped.  Something else is that results is they're screwed and left with Efilina dumped at the bottom of the ocean.  Users will be darned pissed!
  • Ade apologizes to Miggy for wasting his time over looking for some answer about how his parents died or "who dunnit."
  • Chis comes to the office, interrupts Trejo and Ishi to show Ishi her tat.  (FF>>)
  • Jime informs Mig that there's a shortage of Efilina.  They have to go to plan B.  That night Peligros tells him sellers are raising prices and the shortage is making people violent.  Mig says take part from L.A.'s allotment.  Mig verifies that Ade found nothing important out about his parents' deaths.
  • Next morning Ade hands over the magazine with Mig's picture on it to Dora who complains he looks too arrogant, same as his father.  Mig shuts her up and leaves the table.  Ade leaves also to calm him down.  Rosario admonishes Dora for barking at people all the time.  Ade goes into their room to calm him down.  Viewerville notes that he has a very simplistic (childish) view of his father and his personality.
  • At the IRS office in Miami, Howard is taken off suspension.  He decides to try the Karina Greshenko option and forces her into trying to trick Mig into doing something incriminating.
  • Ade visits her abuela and tells her the truth about what she found out: father and son arguing always over money and business.  "--Bad blood.  Don't tell him.  No reason to."
  • Mig tells Jime to handle the Efilina business. (I think.)
  • Jorge and Flaco engineer a secret meeting where Jorge shows Flaco the picture of Gary and asks him to find out who he really is.  Flaco does and learns the guy works for government intelligence and is pretty high up.  Also, Kenia is still frigid in bed.
  • Karina talks Miggy into a meeting with a supposed senator from U.S. state, Nevada.  Howard sets up the meeting with his buddy who is so nervous he makes Mig suspicious.
  • Jorge approaches Kenia about the guy in the photo.  She admits he has something to do with her past in the terrorist cell and she doesn't want Jorge affected by this.  He responds that they are part of one another and of course it will affect him.
  • Mayra/Ade and Carmen have another chat after their workout. Carmen surprises her with a selfie of the two of them.
  • Mig notices the mic and wire that are visible on the "senator's" shirt and walks out of the room leaving Howard and Karina with nada de nada.  Mig pretends he's left the hotel and hides behind the corner of a wall and verifies that Karina and Howard duped him.  He calls Ishi and coldly says: "Karina Greshenko."  Ishi understands.
End episodio 68
==========================
#69

  • Flaco sets Ishido up with his false passport.  Chisca arrives and wants to go along with him to Miami for company.  Ishi has a definite problem with this.
  • Howard gripes at Karina for the flop of a take down operation.  She tells him not to blame her since it was his plan, period.  He threatens and she tries making the moves on him.  He refuses her for once--bad karma for Karina!
  • Chis and Ishi discuss why he doesn't feel comfortable with her going on these "bidnez" trips of his.  He's an assassin; he doesn't feel clean after doing his "assignment."  Can she handle this.  Does a bear go in the woods?  She's a member of a Mafia family, donchaknow?  "--Who is it?" He will never tell her that, not now nor in the future.
  • Howard puts two or three guards outside Karina's condo and she objects.
  • Ade admits to Peligros about the photo.  They plan to meet Carmen in the mall so he can pickpocket Carmen's phone out of her bag while being pushed about on a down escalator.  Peligros grabs the phone and destroys it.  Little do they know or realize that Carmen sent her friend a copy of the pix of her and her new friend.
  • Mig hides out on his attorney's boat for a while during the time Ishi assures him the job is finished.
  • Karina chats via cell with Mig to assure herself he doesn't suspect her.  Little does she know she's been found out.
  • Epigmenio and Tacho plan another make up session between Carmen and Pig.  Tacho delivers a pearl necklace and they have a date for that evening.  He takes Carmen blindfolded to a beautiful manse to be entertained.  He apologizes for the beating and will never lay another hand on her.  (Liar!)  She says she deserved the beating.  (Idiot!)
  • Karina calls her Russian Mafioso friend to help her escape from Howard and his agents.  Mafioso has the hots for Karina and plans to have his posse take care of the guards and ferry her away to Moscow.
  • Meanwhile, Edna learns from Claudia's Police Lieutenant Friend that they caught a guy carrying the gun that shot Hector Bernal.  She brings the dude in and he refuses to say anything but that he wants his lawyer.  Edna approaches Hector and he says it no longer matters; nothing he says or does at this time will make him able to walk again.  Edna tells him he's at least alive and breathing--much better than the alternative!
  • Ishi manages to enter Karina's place undetected --despite wearing a ski mask in the middle of a Miami summer while standing up on the bow of the boat he's travelling on--and strangles her.  He makes it look like a suicide.  When Howard learns she's killed herself they call in forensics who say, yep, it is a suicide.  Howie refuses to accept that; he knows better and Karina wouldn't dream of doing this.  Nope, Howie has to admit: Ishi's got talent.
  • Howard threatens Mig's Miami attorney.  Miggy thinks back to his involvement with Karina.
  • Ade calls him and feels his sadness through the cell conversation.  She flies to Miami for a surprise meeting on the boat.  He admits despite all the sad stuff he does for bidnez purposes, he doesn't feel a thing!  He's sad about that.
  • Ishi returns to his room and Chis is waiting.  He puts the damning clothes into a garbage bag, cleans off and then after chatting with Chis, he and she get busy again.
  • Carmen chats about her new aerobics friend.  She has her friend resend her back the selfie she took.  She shows it to Pig.  Pig tells her her new friend is really Miguel Garza's moll.

Jardinera: I'm confused. So Miguel's Daddy tried to plot an attempt on Don Lambardo ?

In response: Don Lambardo found out & had him whacked 🤔

Steve: I think you've got the basics. I thought it was reversed but am proven wrong. Sorry. :?((

Thank You Jardinera. Yes, the tape with the 20 year old batteries only cornfuzed me more. Actually I could not pay as close attention as I should have, waiting for that dam pink rabbit to show up.

OMG GlueGirl Chiscass is like a horndog clamped onto a new mailman's calf 'getting acquainted' .

Ishiro is bound to be already regretting rolling around with this human barnacle. She wants to accompany Ishiro on a job? She DOES have one hit under her belt, her BFF Adrianna, but I wonder how she would have been with helping string Karina up? Prob OK if Karina looked at Ishiro even half sideways.

BUT: Having her anywhere in FloriDuh would have been a sure way to get at least caught and probably dead. Chisca, all those brain cells are never going to grow back. They're gone.

Waaah waah Boo Hoo, Migster sitting on the foredeck of a yacht “Not Feeling Anything” about having a former bedmate killed. Lest we forget he is NOT some knight in shining armour. He does need to get in touch with Vanessa and tell her that he had her BFF whacked , no? Otherwise she will be hurt that Karina didn't attend the premier of her next film. It could make a girl wish for a return to Sabado Gigante' and Don Francisco.

An EphiGood shortage? Anything on this planet, from microprocessors with billions of transistors which will fit on the head of a match to the latest fragrances, the Chinese quickly clone it and sell it at a tenth the market rate. What happened to Miggy's drug? If Intel, Motorola, Signetics and Apple security is no match for the Chinese cloners, I can not see how Miggy avoided them.

"will never lay another hand on her. (Liar!) She says she deserved the beating. (Idiot!)"

ONE of the stupidest things I have seen in a TN yet. BUT more like real life than any of us would like to admit. She also swears there will Nev---errrr be another ANOTHER MAN. Equally a bogus as his vow to stop beating her. I truly believe people like those two find each other on purpose.

OK Don Lamberto planned to have his own Son Roberto killed, right? A son from a marriage before Dora, I got that. He did not plan on the wife (Mig's Mom) being killed also, but it happened. Lamberto was in business with ePig, and had ePig find someone to do the job? Is that it? So ePig hired the raggedy jacket fellow who Adela made contact with, Gato, I believe, who actually killed them.

According to the tape, it was because Don Lam discovered that his Son, Roberto, Miggy's Father, was plotting against him, Don Lamberto? So far so good? And of course Dora knows all and does NOT want her secret found.

But everybody is dead, so it is a moot point. Except Dora who has not exactly been laying the ground work for asking forgivness from Miggy when he finds out.

Gracias, Jardinera and everyone else this week whose recaps I haven't commented on. It's been a rough week for me.

With about 13 episodes left I guess it was time to put Adela into the serious danger that the photo will get her into. Miguel had better become a hero here.

Kirby, I don't think that it's a moot point about Lamberto and his son being dead. When Miguel finds out the truth his illusions about both of them will be shattered, along with any illusions he may have had about Dora. That is why Adela is reluctant to tell him anything about this; she is afraid he will build an even thicker wall around himself than the one she broke through. He might not be salvageable.

What's to salvage? He's a pompous womanizing criminal who has people killed. In the animal and insect world they use the Miguel Carza facade aplenty, the prettiest most innocuous ones are the deadliest. See poison Dart Frogs. :-)

I hopeo Adela still has Victor's number.

To old ePigg, Carmen fraternizing with Adela is probably a more serious transgression than frolicking with Formerly Know As Loco.

I bet he regrets telling Carmen he would never ever any way hit her again, cause in Pigworld, she at the very least needs a spanking for that craziness.

The bad thing is Adela and Peli think the sit is under control and done with.

Remember when sending a picture over the phone involved a cradle to place the handset into and another box thay made funny noises?

Jardinera, you are a trooper to craft two recaps in the midst of your work schedule changing. Muchísimas gracias. Love the way you cut through the beanie moments, like Ishi manages to enter Karina's place undetected--despite wearing a ski mask in the middle of a Miami summer while standing up on the bow of the boat he's travelling on

I thought Mig's dad was a good mobster who loved his dad but Pig doctored a tape so that Don Lamberto would think his son put a hit out on him so the Don instead put a hit on his son. Isn't the old tape with the miracles batteries Adela found the doctored version that Pig gave Don Lamberto? I'm so confused.

I know I'm the only one with here that likes Dora just a pinkie smidge, but I thought Mig looked arrogant on that magazine cover too.

Ishiro was very moving feeling bad about his mission to off Karina and not wanting to come to Chisca with dirty hands, but I guess he got over that quick.

I bet he regrets telling Carmen he would never ever any way hit her again, cause in Pigworld, she at the very least needs a spanking for that craziness.

Kirby, I almost gagged on my iced tea. lol

Niecie: No you are not confused. ..thanks, that is the crucial part I as missing. About eOink doctoring a tape to in essence frame Roberto, Mig's Dad, and cause Don Lam to kill his own son, get him out of ePig's way. All the pieces fit now. Ad found the doctored tape. I was having trouble figuring how ePig fit in, knowing that he had to have some less than honorable part in all this.

But in Ishiro's defence, there is a high seawall, and he was dropped off several houses away and ran along the sloping seawall, out of sight of the houses. The docks and seawall and other marine structures at the water were very obliging to him though.

Jardinera, thank you so much for providing us with yet another detailed recap . What would our Carlos make of all this mess? I

Kirby, I got a giggle out of all your observations of the crazy.

No. Heroes. Here. Well, maybe Adela ....who is playing with fire as shebang with vapid, clueless Carmen. Evidently Carmen is okay with getting beaten up by Pig as long as he doesn't take away her credit card so that she can buy more hoochy mama clothing . She seems used to getting beaten up. SAd. Ugh.

Seeing those feet ...one shoe on , one show off was disturbing.

I cannot stand looking at smirking, holier than thou Mig. NO..you are not a good guy . You are as bad as Pig. Ugh

I. Need. A. Hero......but they seem to be out of fashion. Now people seem to want antiheroes. Not me. I like nice guys and know many in real life and want them to always finish first. In am truly sick and tired of all the negative . Back to the hallmark channel.

"Shebang"...???? Was supposed to be " she hangs" with Carmen. Whoops.

Thank you, Jardinera. Just as I was starting to catch up, 2 shows a night. Oy. I agree with Susanlynn. The show is full of antiheroes. While I can appreciate a show that makes you feel something for the bad guys, I think this show makes viewers gloss over the bad things that get done. I worry its effect will be to make people more indifferent to a lot of the stuff going on here. My nephews would reply, "oh, Uncle Bill, it's just a TV show."

We may all be disappointed in the Karmageddon.

Thank you, Jar. I haven't watched the episode yet. It's the last one to bring me up to date and current. Thank goodness, too, for the clear explanation of what Adela found, because I, too, remembered something Dora (?) said about ePig giving Lamberto a doctored voice tape with Roberto planning on killing his own dad. Hooray for 20 year-old batteries. Of course it was merely an unbelievable short cut since Ade could easily have taken it home and put new batteries in the recorder.

You could have bowled me over with the news that Karina was offed. Least expected.

This is one of the first telenovelas I've ever watched where there is such conflict over whether the lead actor should survive. We never saw that coming in Amar a Muerte when Lucia went off to find a body to inhabit.

Ithabill: Totally Agree! After all these weeks I won't care if Miggy does not survive the last episode. I'll feel sorry for Ade, but yeah, does she still have Victor's number (good one).

OTOH, I don't want to see either Carlos or whazzhis name become Pres. of Mexico, nor do I want Howard or Edna (the great failure team) to win one for justice. Gary should not be in the service of the USA.

For some crazy reason, I'm actually liking the Ishiro/Chisca pairing. My conclusion is that 1) she has certainly "changed" and 2) the two have more sexual chemistry than Miggy and Ade ever had.

Did any of you ever see Alec Guiness in "The Man in the White Suit?" If you did, you will see where I'd like this tn to go. Efilina stops working, dissolves without producing any highs, folks stop buying, go back to their regular drug of choice and Miggy goes broke trying to pay off his investors. All he has left is the love of a good woman....or something like that.

Kirby: Adela is still in danger because if Dora finds out she's snooping & doing those Paul Drake investigative techniques.....

Yeah Steve, she is facing a double whammy, l;ike thw Pincher in Europe in WWII. Coming at her from both sides, ePig on one side and Dastardly Dora on the other. I hope Mig has given her a fast car.

Kirby: With the Gran Final coming in 17 days, I doubt we'll have a happy ending here.

Maybe not happy for them, but will be happy for me if Adela is alive. :-)
