Caray, Caray!

Good evening my friends and hope that you are not already exhausted with the number of shows from the week. It’s been a long one. And hopefully didn’t do what I did, catch up on the whole week today. Hey…I was busy. But it is getting good. We are in the tail end here and everything has to hit the fan before the end. So here we go.

We left off last night with exactly what Peligros was trying to avoid. Adela’s photo in the hands of Epigmenio. Carmen is in shock when she hears that she is Miguel’s girlfriend. And just as Peligros warned, she is the wife of a mafioso and Carmens response to Epig was that he needed to kill her because no one makes a fool of his wife. Epig needs to know everything that Mrs. Piggy told Adela.


Edna and hubby are fighting over the fact that he thinks she should play dirty and use Carlos Duarte to get to Miguel’s level to catch him. Edna does not want to stoop to Carlos’s level because he is corrupt. She doesn’t want to be in debt to him. Her husband tells her that she played clean and that she is not going to be able to do it playing fair. She tells him that she doesn’t want to regret it. He promises her she won’t.

Howard and Jeramias are at the office. Howard looking defeated. Jeremias informs him of the arrival of Adela in town and Howard thinks that Miguel is feeling cornered after the death of Leopoldo and Karina. Howard tells him that he is tired of the game.

Carmen asks Epig if he thinks that Miguel sent her. Carmen seems surprised that Miguel would put her at risk. Epig says of course he would because all Miguel wants is power. “El que tiene hambre, en pan piense.” Epig seems to finally be at a loss as to what to do about the situation. He tells Carmen to stay at the ranch, he takes her phone. He tells her to let him think.

Howard is awakened by the phone first thing in the morning. Turns out that Jeremias has found something against Miguel. Like Al Capon, the key is always in the taxes.

Mauricio is meeting with Duarte, telling him that Edna is ready to play a little dirty. If Garza falls, Sayanes falls with him and that leaves the Presidency open for Duarte. Duarte gets on the phone to call a judge.

Turns out that in the laundering of money through the foundation to EcoGreen for the development of solar ovens that were never actually developed, Leopoldo didn’t pay taxes on the money received for the development and kept the cash. Taxes on over 100 million dollars. Jeremias shows Howard pictures of Adela who is the face of Jin.

Epig is talking the situation over with Tacho, he wants to know why Miguel would send Adela to get info from Carmen. Tacho tells him that of course he wants his location to kill him. He says that if Miguel wants to find him, then he will.

Jeremias shows Howard Adela’s file. Shows him how unlikely a match she is for Miguel. She is squeaky clean.

Edna is meeting with the crooked judge who is going to give her an order and freeze all of the accounts of Miguel. He tells her that any lawyer awake can get it reversed in a few days and she will have a window to find evidence. As she is leaving she thanks the judge, he in turn tells her that it isn’t him that she needs to thank, and she knows that right. The irony here, because she is so desperate to get to Miguel that she got in bed with the devil. As long as she was clean, she was formidable, but if she starts playing with Duarte’s tools, she doesn’t know what she is in for. With extreme prejudice she turns and tells the judge to send her thanks to Carlos Duarte.

Howard comes to the dock where Adela and Miguel are, arresting her for evasion of taxes. Seriously!!! How can they arrest her for not paying taxes on money given to another company. I understand where the plot is going, but whoever wrote this doesn’t understand that they can’t arrest her for the evasion of taxes on money that she gave to another company. (Edit…tuns out that Jin was responsible for the taxes but was paying it through the administration of EcoGreen over the money. So it was still Jin’s financial responsibility.) But whatever… it got the reaction Howard wanted. Freaking out Miguel. Miguel tells Adela that they don’t want her, they want him. Howard offers to make it go away if he gives up Information on Wissa, Novotech, EcoGreen, all the shell companies. Edgar warns Miguel to say nothing. Edgar, their lawyer goes with Adela. Howard just turned what Miguel considered a game, into something super serious going after Adela.

Howard tries to appeal to Adela in the meeting. He tells her that she is evaded taxes on over 100 million dollars. Edgar informs him that she is not the person responsible for those actions. Howard tells her that she is the person responsible for the foundation as a whole. Edgar looks at the paperwork and Howard keeps working on Adela. He tells her that he knows she is honest and that she has never done anything wrong, does she want to end up like Karina. Edgar steps in here and tells him that it has nothing to do with her, and that he has no proof. Howard surprises Adela with the news of Karina…and Howard uses that to push his point further. Edgar says that his client will only talk in front of a judge. Edgar doesn’t let her say anything, like a good lawyer should.

Miguel sees Adela on her way out. The cop takes her away. Edgar comes out and Miguel wants answers. Edgar tells Miguel that she is going to have to spend the night there, but he will get her out. Miguel says they want me, I will turn myself in. Edgar tells him that he can get her out easily, but Miguel is another story. He tells Miguel that Leopoldo didn’t pay the taxes on the transaction. Miguel tells Edgar to make sure that nothing happens to her. Edgar says he will take care of it, but that Miguel needs to be ready to pay the bail, as well as the fine that will be incurred for the failure to pay the taxes. That it won’t be little.

Adela gets checked into the prison. They take her jewelry, fingerprint her, take her mug shot. She enters the prison to a not so friendly place.

Edna shows up at Naga Company with her search warrant. Jimena takes her time looking at the order while Trejo runs around telling everyone to erase everything, they are being raided. They apparently have a protocol because they all seem to know what to do and Flaco tells them to follow the protocol. Jimena keeps trying to buy time. She says that she needs to contact her lawyers before she can let them enter. Edna threatens her with arrest for impeding an investigation. Finally Jimena tells her that she can enter. Jimena tells her to start over there. Edna tells her that she will start where she wants. First she wants to see the computers, and then the office of Miguel Garza. They enter the tech area and start shutting down computers. I am not sure how much the erased before she got there.

Back in the prison Adela is in her room. She tries to get on the top bunk and her cellmate tells her that if she wants to lay down, she has to do it on the floor. Adela confronts her with, I haven’t done anything to you, what’s your problem. The chick tells her that in that room there is only room for one and puts her hands on Adela. Adela puts her on the ground, then extends a hand to try and get along. The chick spits at her.

Back at Naga Company, they are confiscating all of the computers and Jimena and Trejo are getting them all together in Miguels office. Jimena says they have to notify Miguel. At that moment Miguel calls and tells Jimena that he needs her to transfer him money. Jimena tells him that they can’t, that the company was just raided, the accounts are blocked. Miguel asks Trejo what happened to the taxes that were supposed to be paid by EcoGreen. Trejo says that those were part of the responsibilities of Leopoldo. He then tells Trejo that Adela has been arrested and Trejo tells the rest of the group. He tells Trejo that he need clean money to pay the taxes, the fees, and the bail for Adela. Trejo asks where they are going to get the money, if the accounts are all frozen. Miguel says he doesn’t know. So I guess it looks like they were Jin Foundation’s taxes, but that they were supposed to be paid by Leopoldo. If he wasn’t already dead, Miguel would have killed him.

Hector and Claudia are arguing over him going to see the guy that shot him. He wants to ask him why. Claudia tells him that the only reason he has is someone paid him. Hector tells her that Edna is right, he can’t let down his guard.

Adela is asking the guard if anyone has come for her. The roomie is talking crap the whole time, and tries to start stuff again. Adela lets her have it while everyone looks on and the guards try to stop the fight. They lock her in a dark cell. Finally, Adela stops being strong and breaks down.

Hector arrives to see the gunman who shot him. He rolls into the room and the guy asks him who he is. He tells him his name and he tells Hector that he knows his name but that he doesn’t remember his face. He tells Hector that if he shot him it was because it was just a job, nothing personal. He tells Hector that he doesn’t know what he did that they want him dead, but that he should be thankful that he survived. Hector asks who was it that sent him to be killed. The gunman tells him that he doesn’t know anything, that they don’t only pay him to do the work, but to keep his mouth shut. He tells Hector that they give him a photo and a name and it doesn’t go beyond that. Hector says then that is worse, it makes me lose faith in humanity. The guy says “how deep” and then starts laughing a creepy laugh.

Edna leaves with her evidence. Trejo says they have to check everything to see what they took. Jorge says he needs to go home to see Chisca and Dora. Patricia is leaving, she is quitting. Her husband told her to not go to work at that company. Flaco says that the rats are fleeing the sinking ship. Kenia asks Flaco what he is going to do.

Edgar shows up at the prison with an envelope of money for a guard. There is a note in the envelope. Jorge is at home telling Chisca, Dora, Ishiro and Rosario everything that happened. Dora says that she has the money that Miguel needs, Chisca tells her that it needs to be clean, that money from El Salado won’t cut it. Dora tells Chisca that she knows what clean money is, that she has been around, that she has clean money that Lamberto left her from the transport company. Jorge is surprised that Dora wants to help and asks her aren’t her and Miguel in a fight. Dora tells him that that is between her and Miguel but that anyone who attacks a Garza is against them all.

Edna is meeting with Gary. They are talking about the computers being in the hands of the experts and that she and Gary are going to revise the companies documents. They need to review everything twice.

The guard comes to get Adela, she brings her to a bathroom to get cleaned up and when she gets to her cell there is a fancy meal with flowers and wine. A note from Miguel that tells her that he is always with her, that this won’t happen again. That he loves her. The paid off guard is going to be close for whatever she needs.

Back in Mexico Kenia and Jorge are talking. Kenia tells him that she thinks it is time for them to split, like he once suggested. Change identities, go far away. Jorge tells her no. Kenia tries to convince him. He tells her that he cannot abandon his brother and sister now. Kenia argues that Miguel can protect himself, that Chisca has Ishiro, she is getting desperate. Jorge tells her that he can’t. He can’t abandon Miguel when things get tough. If she wants to leave she can, but alone. She tells him she can’t, she would never leave without him, she prefers to die than leave him. That what she feels for him, she has never felt for anyone.She tells him she loves him with her whole soul. He loves her too.

Edgar is meeting with the judge about Adela. He is telling him that she was not the responsible party in the administration of the money. That the person who was is now dead. That there is no way to determine if it was done with intention and that it could have been just and error. That he is sure they can come to an agreement. This is when Howard walks in. He tells the judge that Adela is romantically linked to Miguel Garza who is being investigated for money laundering. Edgar agues that Howard has no proof of anything he is accusing Miguel of. Edgar says that is this country, we don’t accuse people of supposed crimes of other people. Howard argues that the involvements are illicit. Edgar says that his client has no priors, that there is not reason she shouldn’t be able to get out on bail. That of course they are willing to pay whatever necessary. The judge makes a call and then tells Edgar that they are willing to drop the charges if they pay the taxes, the fees, the costs and the compensation, totaling 12,430,000. Edgar says confidently that they will pay the money. The judge tells Toledo thank you, for his work and his visit and dismisses him. Toledo looks pissed. But seriously, you can’t arrest someone on a whim just because they are romantically involved with the person you really want. At least not for taxes that are just about money. Still, I hope Miguel can come up with that kind of clean money. I am sure he can. Miguel says he doesn’t care about the money, just that they get her out of there as soon as possible.

Howard’s boss comes in and congratulates him. He says for what? He thought Miguel was going to bow under the pressure of Adela being arrested. His boss tells him that he got 12 million dollars, which covers what they lost. Plus, he was wrong and should not have prevented him from going after Garza, that he is the fat fish and that they Howard has carte blanche to keep pursuing him. His boss is sure that he will get him eventually.

We didn’t have to see the whole getting out of jail bit, which I am thankful for. Miguel meets Adela on the yacht and tells her that he is sorry. That he thought he could keep her free from all of the dangers that surround him but he was wrong. She asks him point blank if what he was talking about not feeling anything about was Karina. Miguel confirms and then she goes on to knowing what she was getting herself into with him and accepting it. That she loves him above all things. He tells her that when they get back to Mexico he has to close himself into his offices with the lawyers to come up with a new strategy. She tells him that they should take advantage before she loses him.

Chisca hugs Adela sincerely when she arrives. Asks her “how was jail?” Miguel went straight to the lawyers offices. Dora is back to nice Dora and Adela thanks her for paying the huge sum of money that got her out.

Carmen calls Adela asking to get together. Uh-oh, out of the frying pan into the fire, what plan is Epigmenio mounting? Carmen baits Adela with having something interesting to tell her. Tacho is looking on the entire time.

Peligros and Adela arrive. Adela tells her she is going to be a bit to go do what he has to do. Peligros tells her no way, that bad luck comes in waves that there is no point in tempting the devil.

Jimena is on her way out when our old friend Hans arrives at the door. Talk about a wave of bad luck. He holds a gun to her head. We get a whole replay of what happened with Hans in case we forgot how Miguel saved her from him by putting him to sleep.

Adela walks into Carmen’s house and she locks the door.

That is the end of tonight my friends. I will have the second one sometime tomorrow, but I am sure there are many of you out there like me who are barely catching up with all of these episodes from double headers all week. Hopefully next week we are back to one a days, although rounding in on the completion of the show. Happy New Year all!!!
