Ep. 74, Part 1: Worth Fighting For (Katy McAllister)
When you truly love someone, you don’t look for faults. You don’t look for answers. You don’t look for mistakes. Instead you fight for the mistakes. You accept the faults and you overlook excuses. The measure of love is when you love without measure. (Amlesh Pandey)
Julia goes to see Ringo at his house, but is greeted by Gloria who chides her for being so insistent. Gloria tells Julia to give it up because Ringo is now with her, but Julia ain’t backing down and reminds Gloria that she is only there because she has nowhere to live and because she is Santi’s mother. Gloria points out that after all is said and done, she is there…and no one is going to take what’s hers. Julia tries to push her way in, but Gloria is stronger and pushes her out and closes the door.
In the dressing, Guachin finds Guevara in tears. When Guachin asks what’s wrong, Guevara rudely tells him to leave him alone, but then apologizes and confesses that he is feeling bad because he is going blind; if he doesn’t get an operation he will go blind…it makes him furious!
Julia talks to Eva in her office about finding out that Diego was stealing from the company and her father finding out. Eva has never trusted Diego but didn’t say anything because he is Julia’s husband. Julia regrets no listening to everyone who tried to ward her about Diego. Julia then shares about Isabel’s suspicions and how they will try to get evidence to throw Diego in jail. When she mentions that Ringo always tried to tell her about, Eva wonders if Ringo already knows; so, Julia admits the he does know, but is very hurt that she did not believe in him. She asked Ringo to forgive her, but he is very hurt. Eva asks if Julia still loves Ringo. When Julia assures her that she does love him, Eva encourages to fight for him…Julia is very stubborn about so many things; she should be as stubborn about getting Ringo back. Julia should be as insistent as Ringo was when he never left her side despite her rejection. When Eva feels nauseous, she tells Julia that she is pregnant (Squeee!)
Alejo tries to convince the shop manager to drop the charges on Brenda, but she refuses (Yee-haw!).
Oso takes Rosa to see the club gang. As she sees each one, she remembers who they are (it’s a TN miracle!!). Rosa asks to get to work so Teresa agrees as long as Rosa takes it easy and goes to rest if she feels too tired.
Alejo tells Brenda that the store manager refused to drop the charges, Brenda has one of her fits and demands that she be released so that she can go convince the stupid manager to drop the charges! Alejo tries to calm her down, but it’s like he added fuel to fire. Brenda turns on him and tells him to SHUT UP! After he tells her that she needs to face the consequences of her actions, he hands her some sandwiches, but she freaks out and throws them at him as he walks away.
Guachin runs in to the cafeteria and is very happy to see Rosa. When Guachin mentions what Carrizo did and what he is saying, Rosa looks confused since she thought Carrizo was a good guy. After Guachin explains that that is why Oso was so upset and that she shouldn’t be so trusting of Carrizo, she remembers her fight with Oso.
Alejo calls Manuel to ask for his help by calling Mirta to see how she can intervene and get Brenda out of jail.
Ep. 74, Part 2: Worth Fighting For (Katy McAllister)
Rosa storms into Oso’s office and tells him that she remembers why she was angry with him. After she chides him for not trusting her, she adds that she also remembers Susana and Veronica. She then tells them quite adamantly that they should both go their own ways.
Guachin goes to talk to Susana who explains Guevara’s condition. Guachin is dismayed that Guevara can’t have his surgery because he can’t afford it so he asks how much it costs. After Susana tells him about the hospital costs, Guachin volunteers to pay for the hospital costs and asks Susana not to tell Guevara since he is such a proud man. He suggests Susana make up something to explain about the hospitals bill being paid. (Sweet, sweet Guachin with the “Heart of Gold”)
Julia arrives at the gym to pay her rent and also tells Oso that she wants to join the club to learn boxing, but not to compete; she just needs the exercise and punch something since she is so stressed. When he agrees to train her, Julia smiles and is ready…clothes and all!
Manuel and Alejo meet with Mirta and ask for help in getting Brenda out of jail. Mirta agrees to see what she can do.
Carrizo, with Celia in arms, sees Rosa going into her apartment and asks what she is doing there. After Rosa tells him that she lives, there, Carrizo tries to continue his lies, but Rosa retorts that they do not have a child together. When Carrizo suggests that they be novios since they get along so well and Celia loves her, Rosa tells him not to be making up things that are not true. After Carrizo apologizes, Rosa suddenly smiles and asks what they are doing there; so, Carrizo tells her that they are on their way to the park. He invites her along and Rosa gladly agrees.
Oso has started training Julia who is punching the bang when he suddenly tells her that he has no time to train. He calls Ringo who is about to enter the gym and tells him he has a new student for him. After Ringo arrives, Oso introduces him to his new student…Julia (Teehee…NOW our girl Foolia is thinking. She dug her hole and is building a ladder; boxing lessons just might work!).
Mirta explains to Manuel and Alejo that the public ministry is willing to consider dropping the charges if there is a medical report indicating that Brenda suffers from psychological problems. Alejo calls Brenda but can’t reach her; so, he calls, Leticia, Brenda’s psychiatrist who will call him when she is available.
Julia frowns (quite intentionally) as she tells Oso that she didn’t think Ringo was going to be her trainer. After Oso leaves, Ringo warns Julia that it isn’t easy being a boxer and he is a very strict trainer. They continue on with some exercises as Ringo maintains a very cold and professional tone.
Carrizo tells Rosa that she wishes she were Celia’s mother; it would have been nice if they had met previously…as Damasio observes from behind a tree.
Ep. 74, Part 3: Worth Fighting For (Katy McAllister)
Brenda asks the guard how long she will be there. After the guards replies that she will be there until the judge orders otherwise, Brenda asks to go to the restroom. As the guard physically leads her out, Brenda ants her to release her, but the guard refuses. Brenda insists and grabs the guard telling her that she is leaving! Two other guards approach and restrain Brenda as the guard tells her that this will be another charge against her!
A policeman goes in to tell Mirta that Brenda assaulted a guard. Manuel and Alejo are in disbelief and can only shake their heads as Mirta goes back to the public minister to see what can be done.
Out in the park, Julia is jogging and breathing heavily. As she stumbles, Ringo catches her and apologizes for pushing her too hard. When they sit down so that Julia can catch her breath, Ringo asks if she really wants to be a boxer. Julia admits that she only wanted to be close to him and couldn’t find another way. She knows he told her that they should go their separate ways, but she can’t accept that. She committed a serious mistake in not trusting him and she’ll regrets it for the rest of her life, but she can’t lose him. Ringo reminds her their relationship ended when she didn’t believe him and she sided with Diego. Ever since he met her, all he did was take care of her and she only doubted him and pushed him aside. When she asks what she can do to get him to forgive her, she adds that she loves him and asks him to forgive her. Ringo remains silent so she asks if he no longer loves her. Ring replies that he is afraid that she will hurt him again. After Julia promises never to doubt him again and adds that he is the love of her life, Ringo still remains quiet, so Julia tells him that she understands that she lost her opportunity and starts to walk away. Ringo calls to her; and when she turns, she sees the love flowing from his eyes so she rushes back to embrace and kiss him passionately. (Well, that didn’t take long!)
Damasio goes in to tell Oso that he saw Rosa with Carrizo and his daughter at the park. They looked like a happy family! When Oso doesn’t react, Damasio wonders if he isn’t going to do anything, so Oso tells him that he lost is opportunity with Rosa. If she is with Carrizo, it is his own fault.
Ringo and Julia hug as they enter the place where they first made love. They missed each other…kiss, kiss, kiss…Julia laughs that she might have to become a boxer to be close to him; he laughs that she is in bad shape and he doesn’t want her to die of exhaustion. When he tells her that she will need to get in better shape, she asks how…so he shows her and they lay back on the bed…and you know what happens next!
Oso is having a pity party and tells Rafa that he lost Rosa forever. Rosa thinks he doesn’t trust her, that he has kept things from her and that he is a liar. When Oso tells Rafa that Rosa is now with Carrizo, Rafa wonders if Oso is going to give up that easily. Oso has to accept that all has ended. It that is Rosa’s decision he must accept it. Oso thinks that he is destined to be alone and he won’t play music anymore. (boo-hoo-hoo).
After Ringo and Julia conclude their “exercise” session, Ringo asks about her divorce. Julia tells him that it’s in process and all she needs to do is sign the papers. After he asks if she is going to turn him in, Julia assures him that she will, but only after they have all the evidence that they need to charge him with the kidnapping and murder of her father. She was very stupid (and we agree) and feels really bad that she didn’t trust Ringo who has only loved and supported her…and they start another “exercise” session.
Ep. 74, Part 4: Worth Fighting For (Katy McAllister)
Alejo managed to take Brenda out of jail (Whyyy????). Brenda yells that she is not going to forgive him for leaving her in jail so long. Alejo reminds her that she did it to herself. Brenda doesn’t know why she married him…she is fed up with him! Well, Alejo is fed up with her too! She uses her illness as an excuse to insult whoever she wants! When Alejo tells her that she is a lost cause, she calls him stupid and walks off. Alejo grabs his hair and huffs in anguish.
Ringo and Julia return from the passionate exercise session. He drops her off at her house and kisses her good bye. When Julia enters, Alejo tells her about Brenda being arrested for shoplifting. Brenda is home but only because of testimony that Brenda suffers from an emotional disturbance. Alejo doesn’t think he is capable of putting up with her illness…and doesn’t know how to handle Brenda anymore; he doesn’t know who he married, Julia reminds him that he did know because they all warned him. When Julia asks what he is going to do, Alejo tells her he doesn’t know, but he can’t stay there; he will go to his apartment where he can be alone and think things through.
The Next Day—
Julia talks to Brenda about what she did, but Brenda continues to deny it. Brenda can’t understand who they can believe a simple employee and not her…she is a Garay! After Julia asks if she is taking her meds, Brenda chides her for forgetting that she is sick and she just lost a child. After she adds that no one understands her like her father did, she tells Julia to leave.
Oso asks Rosa why she is going to resume her training when it’s too soon. When Rosa tells him that she is fine, Oso mentions that he will wait for her at the gym, but Rosa tells him that he will no longer train her…she is going to ask Guevara to train her.
Rosa goes to ask Guevara to train her while Oso stands behind her and signals to Guevara to decline; so, he tells Rosa that he can’t train her. Rosa goes to Damasio, Guachin and Pepe to ask the same thing, but they all decline. Rosa turns to Oso and tells him that he is not going to get his way!
Gloria calls her attorney who tells her that she went to get Turco’s signature on the divorce papers, but Carrizo told her that Turco no longer lives there. After the attorney tells her that the divorce can’t go through without the required signature, Gloria curses Turco.
At the gym, Carrizo is training Rosa as Oso observes, but she can’t follow through with the strikes. When Oso asks what is wrong, Rosa cries that she has no strength in her arms!
Another outstanding title, quote and recap! Thank you, RgvChick. “Alejo managed to take Brenda out of jail. Why???” Nobody was more disappointed than me. I thought she had signed her freedom away for a few weeks at least by assaulting a guard. It would have been a good plot twist. She might have come out on her meds and better for it. Hard to believe she was out so easily on her doctor’s intervention without any required plan for treatment. Now we will only get more of the usual which is a major annoyance.
So happy that Julia andRingo are back together. Her training was good and welcome comic relief.
I am getting tired of Rosa and her spotty amnesia. They need to move that plot along. It was no surprise she had some debilitating effects from her accident. She was supposed to still be hospitalized when Carrizo sprung her.
All in all it was an entertaining episode.
Thanks Rgv Chick. Haven't had a chance to watch this yet, but certainly enjoyed your resumé. The opening quotes are sweet, but my experience is that with humans, Unconditonal Love like that has an expiration date. It usually runs from 6 months to 3 years. After that it's more like the Love Bank. You make deposits when you're caring and thoughtful, you make withdrawals when you're selfish and unkind. And lots of us end up bankrupt. I hope Ringo and Julia's passionate exercise sessions keep going long enough for him to continue feeling loving and forgiving. Because victims of injustice have a long memory. And she certainly was unjust with him.
Now as for Brenda...jeez, yes, stick the lady in a manicomio and leave her there!
I agree with Jarifa about the strange plot twist with Julia. And how many times can she and Oso break up. Seems like it's already been a gazillion times. But still love the sweet little Guachin. So ready to share his pot of gold with whoever needs it or wants it. What a gem.
Your description was him was just perfect:
Guachin volunteers to pay for the hospital costs and asks Susana not to tell Guevara since he is such a proud man. He suggests Susana make up something to explain about the hospitals bill being paid. (Sweet, sweet Guachin with the “Heart of Gold”)
Thanks so much Rgv Chick. It's a pleasure to read and think about something other than the empty shelves at our groceries, with no toilet paper, paper towels or Purrell. I'm laughing also at all the people buying dried beans. We have plenty of rice and beans around our house but I think it's going to be quite a new experience for a lot of consumers. And then the grocery shelves will also be out of Beano!
"Worth Fighting For": AKA 'When the Dam Breaks(better have fresh sheets on the bed)'
thank You mucho much Ms. Chik. Very nice.
So now the real work begins for our coy little Miss Julia, extricating Gloria from her and Ringo's lives. Gloria is like this obnoxious little weed you try to pull in the planting bed, only to discover it has roots that go halfway to China.
Fricking La La Brenda. Alejo wants a shoulder to cry on? HELLO, Julia is right, it is not like he was not warned.
"I didn't steal anything, and I DID just lose a child. Two words for you Alejo: Murder Suicide...final answer
OT Judy, has anyone noticed that the only thing NOT supposedly affected by this concocted fake virus threat is the media's ability to scream dire warnings about it? The news media is the singular entity, if you watch TV, which is absolutely unaffected by it.
Everyone should have been required to read that children's book 'Lord of the Flies'.
Thank you, Jarifa, JudyB and Kirby!
Jarifa, "I am getting tired of Rosa and her spotty amnesia. They need to move that plot along." ITA! She's starting to look bipolar with her mood swings too. She and Oso have been at odds so many different times that I'm not even sure they were ever really "together."
JudyB, "Unconditonal Love like that has an expiration date. It usually runs from 6 months to 3 years. After that it's more like the Love Bank...And lots of us end up bankrupt." You are absolutely right. That type of love is like a rare gem.
Don'tcha just love Guachin? What a guy! He doesn't deserve Luchis at all. I hope his "revelation" comes soon and with a nice girl who will love him.
Kirby, ""I didn't steal anything, and I DID just lose a child. Two words for you Alejo: Murder Suicide...final answer" Alejo does look completely lost...and alone. I hope he finds a way to get out of that hell hole he dug himself into.
AMOR ETERNO #162 Part 1
Dear AE Patio,
As I think you know, I have to use a library computer to post. I may be going on hiatus -- just spoke to the library director and the library might be closed due to coronavirus concerns. I'll keep up if I can. But if I go silent, that will be why.
What follows might be more of a mini-cap than a full recap. Rattled!
We pick up with Leyla and Ayhan. As he says nothing and walks away, Leyla calls after him...how did you know my father, and why hide it? Ayhan answers that he chose to forget his former life when he got to know her. He can't tell her certain things. She's impossible for him. Leyla says she believed in him. Ayhan sadly says, "if only you hadn't asked me now, Cleopatra."
Emir and Nihan are still in the car after Emir found her with Kemal. Nihan explains she's investigating Ozan's death, and why should it bother him, anyway? Emir reminds her Kemal shot him, and insists he wasn't involved in Ozan's death.
Vildan calls Nihan to say Deniz is running a fever. Shaffak is driving them to the hospital, with Eda in tow. Nihan doesn't want them to go to that hospital, but Vildan insists.
Nihan demands to know if Emir drugged Deniz. "I'll never hurt my daughter," swears Emir. "You're not her father," Nihan reminds him. Emir calls to alert his buddy Raci, the hospital director who posed as a doctor at the time of Deniz's anemia.
Outside the hospital, Zehir reports that Vildan, Shaffak, and Eda are entering the hospital with Deniz. Kemal is on his way.
Zeynep has washed up in a budget hotel. Hakan is at the door. He found her using his police "tricks." Nep has no energy to talk, but tells Hakan she was thrown out and disinherited. When Hakan offers to help, Nep says she can't accept his help now. Maybe in the future. Once he leaves, Nep erases Emir from her phone contacts.
At the hospital, Raci greets Nihan and Emir. A female doctor says Deniz is just growing up -- she's cutting a tooth. A herbal syrup is prescribed for her fever. The doc says such overreactions are common with first-time parents. Emir announces "I'm learning to love her."
Back at the homestead, Asu barges past Efsane to see Mujan, telling Efsane she doesn't need permission to see her mother.
Kemal explains to Zehir his suspicions about Raci that day when Deniz needed a blood transfusion and Kemal was told his blood type didn't match Deniz's. And why did Emir transfer money to Raci? Zehir says "are you thinking....." Kemal will do things his way, but if it doesn't work out, tech guy Yihid will figure it out.
Efsane calls Emir to report Asu is inside. Emir says fine, and tells Nihan, who doesn't want Asu in the house. Emir admonishes her, she can't be so cruel as to separate a mother and her daughter. Emir is learning how to be a parent. Nihan is not liking the way Emir's acting toward Deniz. Emir is trying to be a good father, but he could also be a cruel father. Emir grabs Nihan's arm. Eda sees and alerts Vildan.
Kemal marches into the hospital. Where's pediatrics? He heads there just as Vildan, Eda, and Deniz pass by on a different stairway.
Clara
Emir still has hold of Nihan's arm. "Are you more afraid that I love Deniz or that I hater her?" Nihan wants Emir not to have feelings for Deniz. "Not an option," says Emir. Nihan warns Emir not to hurt Deniz. Kemal has seen this exchange.
Alien phone call, Banu. She's filling Emir in on how Zeynep was thrown out. Emir wonders, "isn't there enough room?" No, Fehime saw them kissing, and Nep confessed she loves Emir. "Idiot" says Emir. Where is she? They don't know, Tarik is searching for her. Would she commit suicide? Banu asks. "With Zeynep, you never know" is Emir's response.
Emir can't reach Zeynep by phone. He instructs Shaffak to take all the gals home and go to the pharmacy for the syrup.
Meanwhile, Kemal is using his charm to wheedle info about Deniz's blood type from hospital employees. Sorry, impossible, that's confidential.
Asu is talking to her mother. A doctor is there; too soon to tell if Mujan's movement was a spark of life. Asu has a premonition she'll wake up. When the doc leaves, Asu tells her mom: "I don't know if you'll be proud of me. I only wanted to survive. Don't know who I'm fighting against -- Emir, Galip, Kemal. I'll lose this battle because I did not choose it." Emir texts Asu to give Mujan a kiss from him, and Asu does so.
In the car, Deniz's fever is down, and Nihan wants to go to Leyla's. Over Shaffak's protests, Eda and Shaffak are dumped out in the rain to get a taxi, and Nihan, Vildan, and Deniz head to Leyla's. Vildan asks Nihan: are you afraid of Emir's bond with Deniz?
Emir and Asu meet. He chews her out for not helping more with Kemal. Asu is adamant that she's keeping the evidence she has about the day of Ozan's death to herself for her own security. She doesn't trust Emir.
Hacker Yihid gets into the hospital databnase in search of Debiz's blood type. Flashback to Raci telling Kemal that Deniz needs a transfusion, but Kemal is AB positive while Deniz is O positive. Later, Yihid finds the file. There it is: "O Rh positive," alien blood type for sure. Kemal looks angry as well as disappointed.
At Leyla's, Nihan takes a call from Kemal. She sounds afraid -- is Deniz okay? Nihan tells him they were at the hospital, what, did Kemal have a premonition? Kemal says such feelings only happen within families. Nihan looks a little surprised and reports Deniz is just cutting a tooth.
A group of men are in Ayhan's car lot. They are tax inspectors, come to investigate and take an inventory. Ayhan sputters the cars are "dust," antiques. Who sent them? A light bulb moment for Ayhan, and yes, earlier we saw Galip scheming to set up this plan to harass Ayhan. "Okay, I get it."
Someone from the international press is interviewing Emir at the office.
A financial officer and Tufan are showing Emir the list of transactions Kemal got. Emir calls Raci, wondering if anyone has asked about the charitable donation Emir made to the hospital. Emir instructs Tufan to straighten things out.
Emir still can't reach Nep. After some verbal sparring, Emir gets Hakan to give up Nep's hotel.
Kemal calls Tarik for a Nep update. She's not answering her phone. Tarik says she's crazy, and wonders, would she kill herself? Nah, says Kemal, she values her life too much. Kemal wants Tarik to handle her, Kemal's already talked to her too much. Tarik bristles and says he doesn't need Kemal's advice on dealing with his sister.
Clara
Emir arrives at Zeynep's hotel. "Ay, Zeynep," he mumbles in a resigned, yet tender, way. He enters when Nep doesn't answer the door. There she is, curled up on the bed, asleep. "Poor thing," Emir says to himself. He checks her wallet and finds only a bit of cash. "Ay, Zeynep" again.
He smooths her hair away from her forehead, saying "dear" [querida]. Zeynep awakes, how did you find me? Emir wants to know if she's okay. Does it matter to him? Yes. Emir says, get ready, let's go. Where? You won't be sorry. Let's go.
~~~~~~~~~
We might poke fun at Zeynep, but that damsel in distress doesn't lack for support now that she's out on her own. Hakan, and it seems her devotion to love-starved Emir has earned her some points with him.
Too much to think Kemal would figure out Deniz's parentage by his own investigation. That fizzled out quickly.
Alright guys, everybody stay safe and I'll check in when I can.
Clara
Eventhough I am not watching this novela, I want to give a big thanks to Anon Fri and Clara for covering it and adding so much to the blog. Clara, thanks for the heads up. This public health emergency is changing many of our schedules and limiting possibilities.
Me again.
Just in case I can't get back for a while, [and confused about when we'll have our gran fin!] let me give thanks now to AnonFri for her consistent, truly incredible recaps. AnonFri's feathery pen has graced us and brought this exotic TN to life.
Thanks everybody for commenting, Nina, Rgv Chick, Nett, Bren 0=), susanlynn, anyone I'm forgetting. Really appreciate everyone's take on things.
And I give thanks we're enjoying such an excellent TN, story, acting, production, everything.
Be well, Clara
Thanks, Jarifa! And thanks to you for Rubi, I lurked there.
Finding it hard to stop commenting now that I might be limited.
Okay, out for real, Clara
Clara, thank you so much for the recap; and so sorry you may have to go silent, especially since it's due to this pandemic which is causing so much turmoil and social distancing. I hope you get to read how grateful we are to you and AnonFri for your extraordinary dedication to this TN which has turned out to be one of the best TNs I've seen in a looong time. Had it not been for both of you, I would have never watched it!
Kemal's investigation fizzling out so quickly was a big disappointment; he should have known better that to trust the records of that particular hospital. I'm hoping that he doesn't give up; he really just needs to follow through with his own DNA test. He has plenty of chances to get a sample from Denise now that Nihan and Deniz have been spending so much time with him.
I was really surprised that Zeynep deleted Emir from her contacts, but that was short-lived too.
And now there is trouble in Leyla's and Ayhan's little paradise. Que triste! She should have left the past where it was...in the past.
Hmmm Kirby, not sure if I agree that this is a "concocted fake Coronavirus threat" but I'd be delighted if that were so. There is enough suffering in the world without this.
What is interesting is what I found at the grocery when I went to get some more salad greens for my husband (I'm married to a rabbit.) Toilet paper rolls were scant, but hardworking staff were unloading more. Paper towels were actually abundant which was nice. But those wet wipes that one can use along with toilet paper were totally out. Condensed soup cans were down to just a few. I always make home-made soup with Better than Bouillon as a broth base, and those were completely wiped out. I still have a few jars at home so I'm not worried, but it was interesting.
What was nice also, was that in spite of long lines, people were being very thoughtful and patient. This is the Midwest of course and we tend to be mild-mannered and "oh please, excuse me" types, but still.
JudyB, I was out early at the supermarkets this week and people have been just great. About the only shortage I have seen around here has been on hand sanitizers and the wipes for the grocery cart handles. Lucky for me, I was raised by a survivor of the Great Depression so I always have the pantry stocked. Beautiful day out. Good day to get out and walk the empty streets of the neighborhood. There is never anyone out of their houses for years now. Everyone, kids included, seem to cocoon inside their homes during their free time 24/7 12 months a year. For once, I can say I think that is a good thing. ; )
Oh yes, Jarifa, Hand Sanitizers have been "out" around here since last week. But I prefer hand soap washing anyway. Didn't notice if there were hand wipes for the grocery carts as I was wearing thin gloves. We certainly have enough rice and beans to survive as those are always on hand. Just hope that we can continue to get both fresh and frozen vegetables but people don't seem crazed about that as they do other items.
I was raised by folks who lived through the Depression also. And of course WWII. All I remember about that is my mom telling me about the ration cards for sugar, soap and chocolate, none of which worried me. I did mind that there were no balls to play with because the rubber was being used for the tank tires etc. in the war. Of course the restrictions and the suffering were much more severe in Europe. So far we have been very lucky in this country, apart from the depredations of the Civil War.
All areas of life.And it's just gettin
Started.
I don't think kemal Will give up. But I just don't know why nihan won't tell
Him cuz emir is getting too attached to that little girl. That would be too
Tragic. Look how he turned out,No that cannot happen.
Ayhan and Cleo were due for some down time, but this could end them. Maybe not. Vildan started this. I think that
They'll survive. It was a lifetime ago
Apologies and Move on.
Zeynep is not out for the count. She's
Got more trouble to cause.
I don't like banu, she thinks she's in the clear. Hers is comin. Shes another
Snake in the house fehima needs to get rid of.
Thanks for the recap. You, and AnonFri
Are just simply amazing. I'm lovin this show, the Actors and y'all. It's the best one on, what do we do when it goes off? Find another one.
Y'all stay safe and sanitized.
Stay well and safe, everyone.
Finally home from work and able to read your recap Rgv Chick. I thought the tile was great and the quote just lovely.
Another sensational recap. Start to finish.
Savored the sweetness "when she turns, she sees the love flowing from his eyes so she rushes back to embrace and kiss him passionately" and rued the sour "Alejo doesn’t think he is capable of putting up with her illness…and doesn’t know how to handle Brenda anymore; he doesn’t know who he married" (astonishing). And I had to smile at(Well, that didn’t take long!)". :)
The highlight of the night was "(Sweet, sweet Guachin with the “Heart of Gold”)". What a beautiful soul he is.
I would like to see Carrizo settled with someone - his daughter is such a sweetheart.
Niecie, I hope you are able to start posting again soon. I've been crazed myself at work so understand but miss reading your sharp comments.
Rgv Chick, for all your time, care and attention, thank you! You made a long day a happy one.
Diana
Ep. 75, Part 1: We Are Family!…But Not With Yo’ Momma!
Today we start with a tug-of-war between Carrizo and Oso who each want to take Rosa so that Sandra can check her since she has no strength in her arms. Oso finally tells Carrizo that this is not the time to fight and takes Rosa to Sandra who quickly tells Oso to leave them alone so she can check Rosa.
Elsa asks Brenda if she isn’t going down for breakfast. Brenda shakes her head and cries that she wants to die—she lost her baby, her husband doesn’t love her…because he wanted a baby and she couldn’t give him one. Elsa quickly gets Brenda’s pills and, after Brenda refuses, Elsa shoves it into her mouth and makes her take a drink of water (WTG! Elsa).
Teresa is in the cafeteria when Guachin enters and complains about Luchis being a money monger…now she wants a mink coat! Teresa scoffs at the idea since it never gets that cold. Pepe then enters and tells them about Rosa; so Guachin rushes out with him.
In Susana’s office, Susana checks Rosa and advises that she needs to get checked by a specialist. When they go out and are met by the Oso clan, Rosa tells them that she is not doing well; she still has no strength in her arms. Susana explains that Rosa will have to see a specialist...Dr. Robledo who is a friend of hers. When Carrizo steps up and tells Rosa that he will find her the bests specialist, Oso pulls him back and tells him that he will do no such thing! After they get into it and almost get physical, Rosa asks Carrizo to leave…she doesn’t need more problems than she already has. After Carrizo leaves, Susana asks Oso to take Rosa to the specialist the next day since she is going to accompany Guevara to his surgery. Oso gladly agrees and tells everyone to get back to work. Once alone with Susana, Oso asks her to be straight with him; so, Susana tells him that Rosa might have a cervical injury, but they will have to wait to see what the orthopedist has to say.
Teresa walks Rosa back to the cafeteria where Rosa tells her that she feels like everything that she is was in the strength of her arms…it’s like the clipped her wings. Teresa assures her that she has gotten out of worse situations…and she has all her friends to support her. Rosa thinks that this may be assign that she should go back to her town and give up her dream. Teresa encourages her and tells her that she will come out of this just fine.
Eva goes into Alejo’s office to ask him if he can take care of a case since she has to go to the doctor…because she is pregnant! Alejo is very happy for her, but when she mentions that she will have her baby about the same time that his baby will be born, Alejo turns somber and tells her that there will be no baby. Eva is sorry since Alejo was so excited. When she adds that he is sure to have a child later, Alejo replies that he might, but not with Brenda…he can’t get along with her. After Eva leaves, Elsa calls Alejo and tells him that Brenda is not doing well, so Alejo tells her that he will be there shortly.
Diego enters Julia’s office and asks why she moved Mercedes out of her office. Julia explains that she has gotten Sandra back to be her secretary since she knows the company operations very well. After Diego chides her for not consulting with him since he is the vice-president, Julia sits him down and tells him that she appreciates everything he has done for the company, but since they are no longer a couple, she can’t continue working with him…she needs to distance herself from him; it’ll be healthier for both of them. Diego refuses to resign and tells Julia that she will have to take him out and give him severance pay which will be quite costly since he has been there for so many years. As Diego leaves the office, he sees Sandra arriving and throws dagger looks at her.
Ep. 75, Part 2: We Are Family…But Not With Yo’ Momma!
When Sandra goes in to see Julia, Julia shares that she asked Diego to leave; Sandra now understands the “dagger looks.” After Julia explains that they will needs to look for funds to cover Diego’s severance pay, Sandra tells her that her father would be very proud of her.
Ringo goes to the cafeteria where Santi tells him about Rosa’s loss of strength; so, Ringo goes to give Rosa a pep talk since she thinks that she will probably never be able to box. Afterwards, Julia calls Ringo to tell him about her meeting with Diego. She needs to go get advice from Manuel and ask Ringo to accompany her…and he agrees.
Susana tells Guachin that she found an opening at the hospital for Guevara’s surgery. She doesn’t know exactly what the hospital costs will be, but she will let Guachin know as soon as she gets the bill. Just then, Guevara enters the office; so, Susana quickly pretends to be consulting with Guachin and hands him a prescription. Once he walks out, Guachin looks at the prescription where Susana wrote her thanks and called him and angel. Big smile from Guachin! Back inside the office, Guevara worries that he does not have the money for the surgery, so Susana tells him that the hospital has a program that will provide financial assistance to patients who qualify… and Guevara qualified. Guevara agrees to go and cries that he doesn’t know how to show his appreciation.
Ringo is helping Santi with his homework when Julia calls to tell him that she has just arrived; so, Ringo rushes out. When Santi runs after Ringo and sees him in a full-blown lock lip with Julia, he calls out to his father. Ringo asks him to say hello to Julia, but Santi runs back inside. Julia advises Ringo to go talk to Santi; so, Ringo goes back inside where he scolds Santi for being rude to Julia. When Santi tells him that he didn’t like seeing him kiss Julia, Ringo tells him that it is not his business and he and Julia know what they are doing. Santi doesn’t care; he wants Ringo to be with his mother…and to be a family. Ringo understands, but it’s not possible because he loves Julia. Santi yells that he wants Ringo to love his mother and runs out. Ringo runs after him and scolds Santi for running out and crossing the street.
Susana gives Guevara some pre-op instructions and offers to take him to the hospital the next day, but Guevara prefers to go to the hospital on his own.
Carrizo is making a call to a doctor friend of his to ask if he can see his friend who has no strength in her arms. After he hangs up, the housekeeper comes in and tells him that Marlen, Celia’s mother is there. Carrizo rushes off to find Marlen packing Celia’s things and chides her for trying to take HIS Celia after she abandoned them. Marlen clarifies that she did not abandon them; he knows very well that she had to leave because of an emergency. Time flew by and her passport expired. It took her a long time to find them. If Carrizo doesn’t let them go, she will call an attorney. When Carrizo threatens to call his own attorney, Marlen reminds him that he is not Celia’s father. She doesn’t know how he took her out of the country, but she can send him to jail since he didn’t have her permission. She takes Celia and leaves,
Julia tells Manuel that she asked Diego to leave, but he wants his severance pay. Manuel reminds her that she was supposed to keep Diego there until more evidence could be found, but Julia argues that she could no longer stand to see him. Manuel advises her to keep Diego as vice-president but to take away any control he has. When Julia reiterates that she can’t stand to see him, Manuel advises that she move his office elsewhere. Just then, Ringo calls Julia and refers to him as “mi amor.” Eva takes note so Julia explains that she and Ringo are back together again.
Ep. 75, Part 3: We Are Family…But Not With Yo’ Momma!
Ringo takes Santi home and tells Gloria that Santi is not to leave the house; he is being punished, When Ringo leaves, Santi tells Gloria that he ran across the street because he was mad; he saw Ringo kissing Julia. Gloria calmly tells him that Julia is not a good person…a person with good values would not destroy a family. Santi insists that Ringo loves Julia, but Gloria explains that it’s just a saying; Ringo can’t be with Julia because Julia is married and her husband won’t let her go. They need to make his father forget about her.
Oso asks Rosa how she is feeling. She pretends to be fine, but comments that she still doesn’t have any strength in her arms. Oso offers that she stays at his apartment, but Rosa prefers to go to her own place; though she allows Oso to accompany her.
Julia meets Ringo outside. After he tells her about her meeting with Manuel, Ringo explains that Santi is upset because he wants Ringo to be with Gloria. Julia thinks it’s normal since Gloria is his mother, but Ringo argues that he isn’t going to go back to Gloria just to satisfy the child. After Ringo tells Julia that he needs to go back home to make things clear to Santi and Gloria, he tells her about Rosa not having strength in her arms; so, Julia goes off to see Rosa.
At Rosa’s place, Carrizo arrives soon after Oso leaves. He brought her some food. When Rosa asks about Celia, Carrizo tells her that her mother took her. He couldn’t do anything to stop her because he brought Celia without permission. Carrizo cries as he tells Rosa that he loves Celia as if she were his own daughter. Carrizo apologizes for crying on her shoulder; he came to see how she was, not to be consoled. (Swell! Every guy in the show is guaranteed a crying scene by the TN actors guild. Moose gets his tonight…Argghhh!) Rosa assures him that that Is what friends are for. After Carrizo leaves, Rosa cries and she caresses her hands.
Ringo arrives home and talks to Santi who is brooding in his room. Santi does not want to talk about Julia…he wants Ringo to be with his mother so that they can be a family. Ringo explains that he, Julia and Santi can be a family but Santi doesn’t want Julia and Ringo can’t force him to love her. Ringo can’t love Gloria just because Santi wishes it. When Ringo states that he doesn’t love Gloria, Santi blames Julia, but Ringo reminds him that he stopped loving Gloria way before he met Julia. Santi pleads with him to love his mother since she has changed and is a good person now. When Ringo reiterates that he does not love Gloria, Santi gets upset and tells him to leave his room.
Ringo goes out and tells Gloria that he was not able to calm Santi down. Ringo knows that Gloria is already aware that he and Julia are back together. Gloria lies through her well-hidden fangs as she tells him that she told Santi that he needs to accept what Ringo wants. Ringo questions if she really said that since Santi is insisting that they be a family again…and it’s because Gloria is manipulating him. Gloria denies is but admits that she agrees with Santi that they could be a family again. Ringo refuses to allow her to put ideas in Santi’s head and tells her that she needs to find a place of her own…she can no longer stay there (Yee-Haw! Finally!). Gloria runs into Santi’s room. When he sees her crying, she tells him that Ringo ran her off… “that woman” has him poisoned! Santi yells that he will never love Julia and wants to go tell his father that he doesn’t want her to leave, but Gloria stops him and tells him that Ringo is too angry and won’t listen.
Ep. 75, Part 4: We Are Family…But Not With Yo’ Momma!
Julia goes to see Rosa who is in tears and very worried. After Julia gives her a consoling hug, Rosa tells her what happened in the ring. When she tells Julia that Susana got her an appointment with the doctor, Julia asks to accompany her. Rosa responds that Oso was going to take her, but she prefers that Julia accompany her and will let Oso know. When Rosa ask about Julia’s professional opinion, Julia hesitates, but explains that, in the worst-case scenario, Rosa would need surgery, but hopefully she will only therapy and exercises.
Diego calls the Garay house to ask for Julia. Elsa answers and tells him she is not there. When he asks about Brenda, Elsa tells him about the (non)pregnancy and that Brenda can’t stop crying.
Guachin arrives home to find Luchis with a big smile and a sexy pose. After she asks him to accompany her in bed, Luchis tells him that it’s time that they look for a nicer apartment. Guachin tells her that they can talk about it later and tries to get some action, but Luchis won’t give him any nookie until he gets her an apartment.
Ringo tells Teresa about Santi being upset that he is back with Julia. Teresa questions why he is back with Julia; she is a good person but she does not trust him. Ringo assures her that both he and Julia will trust each other from now on. Gloria wishes she had never suggested that he go work for that family; she thinks that Ringo should look for someone else who doesn’t have so many problems.
Diego goes to see Brenda with the pretext of being concerned about her. Brenda sees right through him and asks about the credit cards; so, he tells her about Julia removing him as vice-president and asking him to resign. Brenda scoffs that Julia didn’t even consult her and she is part owner of the company. She thinks that Julia knows nothing about running the company; she will talk to Julia.
On his way out, Diego runs into Alejo who asks about his next fight. Diego will look into it and advises Alejo to dedicate his time to Brenda who needs him.
Alejo enters and Brenda tells him to leave since he didn’t bother to show up all day. He tells her that he was working and reminds her that she ran him off the night before. Brenda chides him for thinking she is a thief…he leaves all day and he comes back as if nothing is wrong. When he reminds her that he was working, Brenda scoffs at his job that pays miserably; she wonders how he will give her the life she is accustomed to. Alejo thinks he will never give her enough of what she wants; so, they should just LET IT GO. After Alejo storms out, Julia comes in to see what is happening, Brenda tells her to butt out and asks her why she took Diego out of the company…she will not allow it!! (Once she stops bawling and whining???)
And so we end the week—Santi having a tantrum; (not)Glorious being her usual skanky self, Brenda bawling and still trying to find a way to get her credit cards, and Rosa and Guevara with their health issues. Hmm…not much to say about Ringo and Foolia… Ay! Caray!Stay tuned next week…only 7 more episodes!!
At Ayhan’s warehouse, a minion hands over a letter that warns a fine must be paid. Ayhan insults the Kozcouglus and says he will mark this up and hang this letter on Galip’s wall. He goes back into his warehouse.
Nihan and Denise are alone in Leyla’s living room. Nihan talks to Denise, trying to teach her the word “mother.” When she picks up the baby, she asks her to forget about the word “father.” She kisses her.
Out in the patio, the sisters are interrupted by the sound of footsteps going up the patio stairs. Leyla calls out for Kemal and he finally arrives at the top of the stairs. Vildan welcomes him and says that Nihan and Denise are inside the house. Kemal makes a semi-annoyed face, and Vildan simply smiles. Kemal goes into the house.
Meanwhile, Nihan is swinging Denise from side to side, asking her to fly. Kemal enters the house and she’s surprised to see him. Kemal says he just passing by but wanted to see them both, including Leyla and Vildan. Denise starts mumbling and Kemal makes it known that he’s aware Denise will getting her first tooth soon. He can’t take his eyes off of Denise, but Nihan starts talking about their investigation: how will they find the hospital worker now that Emir caught them? He will be extra cautious now because he’s been forewarned of their movements. Kemal says that they will have to keep their distance again. Nihan now starts asking about Asu. Kemal asks her how she can be jealous. Nihan claims that she’s mad, but not jealous. Kemal says that he can’t leave Asu unprotected because Emir has threatened her life. Nihan makes a slightly disgusted face, and starts telling Kemal that Asu is a terrible woman who will eventually find a way to lay at his side at night and kiss his neck. She calls her a leach. Kemal says he wouldn’t be capable of closing his eyes with Asu nearby, but Nihan warns him that the devil never sleeps. Kemal tries to put her into his perspective by saying that he’s bothered by the fact that she continues to live in the mansion with Emir. He then notices Nihan’s wrist is red and starts asking if Emir hurt her. She claims nothing happened, but looks unconvincing. He threatens that one day he will kill Emir to make him pay for everything. Just then, Vildan and Leyla come into the house. Vildan takes the baby and tells Leyla that they should go to the pharmacy and buy Denise’s medicines. Leyla agrees, but Kemal offers to go for them instead. Nihan tells Vildan that they will go and get the remaining medicine themselves on their way back home. Kemal says that he will go and bring the medicine, so Nihan goes to hand him the prescription, but notices that she forgot Denise’s identification card. She comments that it shouldn’t be a problem because Ms. Rukan knows the family and therefore wouldn’t cause a problem. Kemal says ok and goes on his way.
Kemal walks out of the home with the prescription and calls Zehir, telling him “Why didn’t it occur to me, that if Emir bribed the hospital director, the records could be false too?” Zehir says that that’s something that should be expected, adding “every sickness has a remedy, and every remedy has its sickness.” Kemal says “If there’s no medicine, then there’s no sickness.” He gets into his car and drives to the pharmacy.
Emir and Zeyenp enter a spacious house. He hands over the keys to her while claiming that the hotel she’s staying at isn’t a good place for her health. Zeynep takes the keys and walks to the windows, overlooking the seaside. She smiles at Emir and tells him she’s always dreamed about having a beautiful home with him. Emir asks if she prefers a weekly or monthly allowance. Zeynep doesn’t answer but walks closer to him and tries seducing him. She grabs his hand so that he can feel her heartbeat. Emir says “You’re just a person who entered my life by accident. You should know that I’d always protect you while I’m still alive.” Zeynep then asks him to look at how her hands tremble. He asks if it’s her anger. She answers that he knows her anger so well. She places her hands on his chest and says that she will die slowly, little by little for him. Emir says he would hope that she could put away this drama already. Zeynep whispers “That moment when your lips touch mine, is the only moment that I wish would stop in time. Nothing ever started, but it’s all ended. Do you know why? Because it never started.” Emir says he fears she will go crazy from this love. Zeynep admits that she’s crazy, especially since yesterday she yelled at her father over her love for him (Emir). She says that she rejects this house: afterall he will only treat her as a lover, he will visit from time to time, she will cater to him from time to time, and she will end up sleeping alone most nights. Emir asks her why she’s suddenly so brave. Zeynep says that she’s become brave because of him, her love for him, the fact that she lost everything for him. She reminds him that the only thing she has left right now is her useless love for him. Emir stares at her rather emotionless. “I don’t want to receive anything from you, not even your mercy. It’s something that doesn’t come from you. Goodbye my love, because what I feel is unbearable. From now on, I’ll move on without you.” As she starts walking away, Emir asks if she’s really leaving. Zeynep says that she has no other choice; she may be crazy for rejecting this house, but surely he will find someone else to live in it. When she’s gone, he looks slightly surprised.
At the pharmacy, Rukan asks Kemal to give her greetings to the Sezins. He says of course, and she hands over the prescription. When she notices that he’s not leaving, she asks if she can help him with anything else. Kemal starts to ask about Denise’s aplastic anemia. Rukan gets confused and looks into her server but says that Denise doesn’t have any medicines for that disease in her careplan. She suggests that perhaps the family gets the medicines from a different pharmacy or perhaps even from out of the country. She asks him to call the family so that she can get those prescriptions rerouted to her pharmacy. Kemal smiles and says “No, it’s ok. They probably have them already.” He leaves.
Eda and Shaffaq are walking to the Kozcouglu mansion. Eda complains that they took a bus rather than a taxi to get home. Shaffaq says that it’s not their money to spend. His phone starts to ring and Eda comments that it may not be his money but he’s going to England with it anyway. Shaffaq tells her that he probably doesn’t deserve it. When they get to the green gate of the mansion, Shaffaq answers the phone by saying “Brother Emir? I mean, Mr. Emir?” Emir asks him to make a choice on that already, then asks if he bought the medicines already. Shaffaq specifies that he and Eda just got home (despite Eda’s urging that he say nothing). Emir asks about Denise and Nihan- Shaffaq answers that they went to visit Leyla after the hospital. Emir hangs up, and Eda tells Shaffaq that telling on Nihan was unnecessary. She marches into the house and Shaffaq says that he couldn’t be expected to lie.
Emir calls Pelin to ask what time Kemal arrived to work. Pelin answers that he hasn’t arrived yet, though he did call to inquire whether Emir had shown up for work already. Emir hangs up and senses that he’s at Leyla’s house too.
Efsame opens the door and asks Eda if Nihan will come home later. Eda looks at her rather disgusted and says that this isn’t a home but rather a courthouse. She walks away and Efsame wonders what’s wrong with her. When Eda reaches a corner, she calls Nihan to report that Shaffaq told Emir that they are at Leyla’s house, warning that Emir might show up there soon. Nihan says ok and tells Vildan and Leyla that Emir may show up at the house. She tries to get in contact with Kemal through a text, but he quickly appears at the door. Nihan opens and tells him that he needs to go now because Emir is on his way. He says everything will be ok, but Leyla tells him that she doesn’t want any problems in her home. Kemal acquiesces and hands Nihan the medicine before he takes off. Leyla then chides Nihan by saying that she applauds them both for being intelligent people who somehow keep finding ways to keep their distance. Nihan clearly gets affected by the comment.
Kemal drives out of there just as Emir arrives, who manages to see the blue car. An alien phone call comes in and Tufan says that the hospital has changed the reports to reflect the information that he wants. Emir says that he has other plans now, but that he will draft them up first. He goes up to the home.
Kemal is driving and thinks back to 2.5 months ago when Racif told him that Denise’s bloodtype is O+. Kemal looks at Denise’s prescription (?) and says “He couldn’t change it. It’s not possible.”
Outside Leyla’s house, Emir comments that her home is so old it can fall apart at any moment. Vildan asks him not to be so rude, and he slightly smiles while Leyla comments that he can’t possibly live without emanating bad energy. Emir gets cheeky and says that he’s changed his methods now that he has Denise. He pokes her cheek (Vildan holds the baby). Nihan rolls her eyes, and tells Leyla that they’ll see each other soon. Leyla goes back into the house for something. Nihan follows her mother and Emir up the patio steps and onto the street, when Emir takes Denise away from Vildan. Nihan starts protesting, but he tells her that she will take the car with Vildan and Denise is coming with him. Nihan claims that he doesn’t even have a car seat, but she was proven wrong because he’s seen putting Denise into one. Vildan asks Nihan to let it go. Nihan watches as Emir drives away and Leyla appears, telling her to calm down because she will only make matters worse, and he is Denise’s father anyway. Nihan holds her tongue but says goodbye and heads for her car. Once inside, Vildan says that Leyla wouldn’t be so calm about the situation if she knew that Denise is actually Kemal’s daughter.
Emir is driving but takes a look at Denise, then makes a phone call to Tufan. He says that this whole issue with the report has given him new ideas, and they will use them to their favor without attracting Kemal’s attention. He mentions that Kemal will be interviewed by fake reporters who will make him talk as much as possible. He starts giving Tufan further orders (that we’re not privy to).
Alone in her living room, Leyla calls Merzat to ask him to investigate Ayhan’s connection to her father.
Kemal walks back to Leyla’s house and knocks on the door. When she answers, he tells her that he wants to talk about Denise.
Tariq is in the lobby of the hostel when he hears Zeynep arriving because she’s coughing. She’s surprised to see him there. Tariq says “I’ll die if I don’t talk. I can’t keep quiet anymore.” Zeynep goes to the receptionist asks for the key to room #106. Tariq follows her.
In the living room, Leyla comments that she can’t believe Kemal still has hope that Denise is his daughter, and says that he needs to accept that the hospital records are accurate. She says that Denise does have a blood disease, and that surely Emir has a reason to have made a large donation to the hospital. Kemal says he finds it suspicious because he was at the hospital the day Denise was diagnosed with the disease. Leyla reminds him that Rukan wasn’t lying when she suggested that the Kozcouglus get their special medicines from other pharmacies. She asks him not to dwell on that information anymore, then says “You’re not even thinking about a DNA test to --- because you know that deep down your heart that you have hope she’s your daughter.” Kemal asks her to get Denise’s medical registry, because he thinks it’s impossible for Denise to be O+. Leyla asks when he expects her to go to the Kozcouglu mansion to get the baby’s registration card. Kemal asks her to go tomorrow morning, when Emir will be at work.
Zeynep is sitting on the bed while Tariq speaks. He says that they’re both very different, and that he’s been very happy at her side, but also very sad. They’re both each other’s confidantes, but he feels that she’s killed everyone with her actions, and slams his fist on the dresser mirror. He asks how she could have dared have a relationship with Emir. Zeynep starts crying, places her hands over her ears and asks him to stop talking because she’s aware that she’s a bad person. Tariq sits next to her and says he believed her when she told him that Emir was slandering him. He believed her when she said that she did everything for the sake of the family. In a flashback, Zeynep was pacing around an outdoor area when Tariq caught up with her and reported that “Kemal is in prison, Emir had a surgery and Ozan-“ Zeynep wouldn’t let him finish his sentence because she started panicking. When Tariq told her that Ozan died, she turned hysterical and said she thought Ozan would have survived because he was still alive when Tariq entered the room and asked her to leave. She called herself a killer, and Tariq asked why she was suffocating Ozan with the pillow in the first place. Zeynep answered that he was slandering her, so all she was trying to do was to get him to lose consciousness so that he would keep quiet. Tariq hugged her to try and calm her down. In the present, Tariq realizes that Zeynep lied to him: she tried to kill Ozan to keep her affair with Emir a secret. Zeynep cries and swears that this wasn’t her intention at all, but Tariq says that since she’s ruined their agreement, so he doesn’t believe her anymore. When he stands up, she asks if he will abandon her too. Tariq says “I wish that my presence would have been important to you…You had your brother, but you went with other people, Zeynep. Now that I know you’ve lied to me, I can’t deal with this situation anymore. This has gone too far.” He exits the room and Zeynep closes the door, crying in silence.
Kemal leaves Leyla’s house and immediately gets a call from Pelin. As he listens to her he looks annoyed and says he had hoped that she wouldn’t schedule the interview today. Pelin says that it’ll only be for half an hour and that the reporters will come whenever and wherever he wants. When she asks if he wants to do it at his office, he says yes. Meanwhile, at Kozcouglu Holding, we see Pelin speaking to Kemal with Tufan supervising.
In his home, Kemal is doing the interview and notes that there’s a lot of equipment. The lady starts the interview, and first asks him if he has a lot of time left over to cover his private life. Kemal affirms, and the lady asks if he’s always available to answer all phone calls. Kemal hesitates and answers that he’s not always available for that. The lady takes note of that.
Meanwhile, at Kozcouglu Holding, Emir asks if the interview is going on right now. Tufan confirms. Emir asks him to get everything ready for his other plan tonight.
Night falls. At the Kozcouglu mansion, Nihan takes Denise’s temperature and is satisfied with the results. She pulls the baby’s legs, laughs and then covers her up for sleep.
Emir is looking at some homes on his tablet at his home office. Tufan comes in and hands over two flight tickets to Los Angeles. Emir asks if he took care of the other problem. Tufan hands over a white envelope and says he did everything according to plan.
Nihan walks to the living room and Vildan asks if Denise’s temperature has gotten better. Nihan confirms and takes a seat on the couch. Soon Emir appears and shows Nihan his tablet. Nihan asks why he suddenly wants her opinion on his potential investments. Emir says “You will live in that house, and you will be there for most of the year.” Nihan doesn’t understand. Emir says that she will take a flight with her mother to Los Angeles in two days. Nihan says that they will not be traveling anywhere, but Emir assures her that she will, because this is the way things are now. Nihan stands up and tells him that he’s wrong. Emir says that he will join them as soon as he gets Kemal out of his company. Nihan is adamant that she will not travel, and Vildan says that he cannot make the decisions on his own. Emir retorts that when he wants to speak to his mother in law, he will be looking at her. Nihan takes the tickets and rips them up, asking if he finally gets it. Emir remains looking confident.
At the Soydere dinner, Kemal notices that his parents are estranged. He tells his father that he knows he’s thinking about Zeynep. Hussein orders him not to bring her up, adding that Zeynep is not his daughter, but rather a dishonest woman. She’s not his daughter, she’s not Kemal’s sister, and he doesn’t want to hear about her ever again. Just then, the phone rings and Fehime answers it, but no one answers. Zeynep is listening on the line, trying not to cry. When she finally manages to say “Mother?” Hussein orders Fehime to hang up. Fehime hesitates, and Hussein rudely yells at her to hang up the phone. She hangs up, and Zeynep is on the floor, crying. Fehime remains standing and Kemal tells her that he will never leave her alone.
Tariq is in a taxi and he arrives at the Kozcouglu mansion, looking determined to confront Emir. He rings the doorbell.
Hello,
Tariq actually confronting Emir? That won’t end up well. I’m surprised he hasn’t caught on that Zeynep is a manipulator. The writers really are trying to pull her into victim-mode, but she’s just not redeemable in my eyes. She’s done too much, and the moment that she gets an opportunity to go back to Emir, she’ll jump ship to him as fast as she can. Emir looks like he cares about her much more than he really wants to admit.
Sometimes I think that Nihan uses Ozan’s murder mystery as an excuse to spend time with Kemal. Their meet-up at the hospital worker’s home in last night’s episode was completely careless.
Hussein yelling at Fehime like that was uncalled for. He may not have a daughter anymore but she sure does.
Nina, I’m actually hoping that Denise manages to change Emir for the better. And I also wonder if Mujan will be able to redeem him in some way.
***Clara, thank you so much for your hard work and dedication on this show. I sincerely hope to hear from you soon, and I really hope that the necessary precautions are taken in your area. My area is getting heavily hit. Hand sanitizers, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, gloves and masks have disappeared from our shelves three weeks or so ago. Now we’re noticing cleaning wipes and other agents are starting to become scarce. Ditto the paper products and cold relief medicines this week. Everyone please take care of yourselves; do not expose yourself to this virus if you don’t have to.
I will also let you guys know should I end up unavailable to do the recaps. To be honest I’m not afraid of the virus itself, but rather the way people are reacting to it. It’s a surreal feeling.
Good morning everybody. RGV CHICK, just another enjoyable, sassy episode of another sturm und drang weeper and wailer. Thank goodness we can laugh instead of being caught up in all the manufactured drama of this show.
Loved the title and the (WTG! Elsa) Indeed. Someone has to take this annoying brat/cum "adult woman" in hand. Brenda needs to be in a strait jacket with a muzzle at this point. (Sorry, I'm clearly in a crappy mood this morning)
Money monger--What a great name for our insatiable Luchis. And having spent a hot and humid week in Mexico in November a few years ago, I would say that yes! a mink coat is the last thing our little grifter needs.
full-blown lip lock--Reminded me of Andy Banda's "vacuum-sealed kisses" of another telenovela. Those were certainly top-grade-get-the-job-done besos.
Now a question: What was the accent of Celia's mom. It was very different from all the other actors on this show. It did not sound Cuban to me. Nor Argentinian. But it sure was different. Did you pick up any vibes on that?
(Swell! Every guy on the show is guaranteed a crying scene by the TN actors guild. Moose gets his tonight.) --That reminded me of a William Levy interview eons ago where he complained "They want you to CRY all the time!"
Gloria lies through her well-hidden fangs. --Oh boy, what a picture! We've seen Gloria rock back and forth between nice and way-worse-than-naughty. She's sinking pretty low these days as she scraps and scrambles for Ringo's love. Sorry lady, that ship sailed long ago and Julia is sealing the deal pretty effectively for now.
Fun recap RGV CHICK. And a welcome relief from the cares and woes, fears and alarms of the health news these days. Blessings and thanks.
As in GlOria must GO. Now, Not tomorrow. Take her back where you got her Einstein. Just stupid
Thanks for a great recap of a disgusting episode RGV.
So Boo Hoo Rosa surreptitiously exits the hospital after major surgery without saying goodbye and is back in the gym practicing for her next beating. Just Stupid
Nobody in the Amoeba clan mentions that maybe it is just too soon? Just Stupid
Brenda needs a straight jacket and duct tape. Just stupid
Diego needs a bullet. Hey I have an idea, put a ski mask on Ringo and surgically remove that ever present Delta jacket, and let him beat Diego to within an inch of his life. Bar him from the Garay home. With armed guards.
Virus Hysteria Just Stupid. Remember how they convinced people to buy 'Pet Rocks' a few years ago? 'nuf said. TV---Evil
Wonderful Rgv Chick. You painted a beautiful picture with the perfect words, phrases and wit. Once I start reading, your summaries completely draw me in, weaving a special magic all their own.
"Rosa tells her that she feels like everything that she is was in the strength of her arms…it’s like the clipped her wings" could hurt your heart.
Like you and Judy, I was cheering Elsa. Now there is an in charge woman who still has a kind heart.
"Gloria lies through her well-hidden fangs" could not have conveyed the insidiousness any better.
Outside of every scene Guachin is in, I have to admit Carrizo and Gloria's scenes touched me the most. "Carrizo cries as he tells Rosa that he loves Celia as if she were his own daughter" and "Carrizo apologizes for crying on her shoulder; he came to see how she was, not to be consoled" made me believe him.
I also agree with you and Judy in that there's been quite a few tears shed by our galans and non galans alike. But overall, I admit this show is very adept at showing most of the characters vulnerabilities. And while Diego's tears are cringeworthy, I don't mind most of the other male characters waterworks.
And Luchis, please note no one wears fur coats any more. Vapid vixen.
Hoping for physical healing for Rosa and Guevera. Hoping for psychological healing for many.
I hope Alejo is able to free himself and start his life over.
Guess Diego is going to hang around until the bitter end. Hopefully, his own end.
Rgv Chick, a marvelous recap. Gracias!
Diana
RgvChick, great title and a very enjoyable recap! “Yee-Haw! Finally!” Said it all! Now, Ringo needs to put Gloria on notice that he will take her to court for full custody of Santi if she does not clean up her act. She basically kidnapped the kid once already. Unfortunately, the Ringo character seems to waffle too much to actually be effective where the custody of Santi is concerned. The kid will be mad at him, but so what? He is there to be a parent.
JudyB, your term “manufactured drama” sure describes what is going on here. The plot seems to be the weak point of the show. They are trying to stuff anything and everything in whether it belongs there or not. A lot of novelas do that, but this one is on overload and has muddied the original concept which was Ringo fighting for his son. If they wanted to include the Julia love interest and Diego as the villain that would have been more than enough. I really do not care about Brenda, Carrizo, Gloria, and most of the others anymore.
Kirby, you and me both wondering how Rosa just left the hospital and ended up in the gym. Makes no sense like so many things.
We soldier on to maybe a better episode on Monday.
A big thanks to both of our recappers for fighting through these episodes and faithfully providing high quality recaps of what has become quite the mess.
Diana,”Guess Diego is going to hang around until the bitter end. Hopefully his own end.”Truer words were never spoken.: )
Good Day, Sweet Patio! and thank you, Judy, Kirby, Diana and Jarifa! You all are way too generous, but I appreciate the kind words.
Judy, "Brenda needs to be in a strait jacket with a muzzle at this point. " I like it when your in a crappy mood! I enjoyed that visual LOL
Kirby, I agree with all your "just stupid" comments, especially regarding Rosa. Oso has tried to warn her about taking it easy, but it falls on deaf ears; and I don't see anyone encouraging Rosa to go back to see her doctor...until now that she has no strength in her arms.
Diana, I've been thinking about so much crying going on among the men and wonder if it's a PSA. From my experience, Hispanic/Mexican men are VERY macho and refuse to cry...or let anyone see them if they do.
Jarifa, "The plot seems to be the weak point of the show. They are trying to stuff anything and everything in whether it belongs there or not. A lot of novelas do that, but this one is on overload and has muddied the original concept which was Ringo fighting for his son." I am very disappointed that the original concept was muddled. I was really expecting this TN to be more of a father's struggle to keep his son. Of course, that would have meant a lot more air time for Gloria and more cunning tricks from her as well. But, oh well, I'm still enjoying the show.
Oh and Judy, I'm not very sure, but Marlen's accent sounded Andalusian to me.
Saturday is my errand day including grocery shopping. It was shocking to me to see all the empty shelves....so Kirby, "Virus Hysteria Just Stupid" is about right. I'm not trying to make light of the situation, but my goodness, panicking is not going to solve anything; it'll make things worse.
Keep calm, safe and healthy, Patio :-)
Clara Thanks bunches for sticking With us on this tn. If it gets difficult U
Just do whatcha gotta do to stay safe.
Everybody please be safe. People have
Gone kind a nuts on this small island.
There's only 3 supermarkets on This small island and the toilet paper and
Only to watch as the storm fizzled out, turned or once or twice in a lifetime, actually made landfall.
A good example a few years ago got out on live national TV of a reporter here in FloriDuh clinging onto a post for dear life reporting on a storm's approach, and how his life was at risk being out in the hurricane force winds. He was leaned into the wind at about a 45 degree angle, while a couple nonchalantly strolled by in the background.
There was a blonde who just got sick and tired of all the blonde jokes. One evening, she went home and memorized all the state capitals. Back in the office the next day, some guy started telling a dumb blonde joke. She interrupted him with a shrill announcement, "I've had it up to here with these blonde jokes. I want you to know that this blonde went home last night and did something probably none of you could do. I memorized all the state capitals." One of the guys, of course, said, "I don't believe you. What is the capital of Nevada?"
"N," she answered.
PLEASE someone explained who did what in sequence!!! THANK YOU
Jarifa, the fact that anyone would encourage let alone allow Rosa back in the gym so soon (or even ever) after such a serious injury is alarming. You want the person to get better but that doesn't include indulging their desire to get back to their former life. Sometimes, that life no longer exists.
And I totally agree that some of the stronger moments were early on with the unbreakable bond between Ringo and Santi. I'd like to see that again once Gloria is out of the picture.
In my comment, I noted I was touched by Carrizo and Gloria. I meant to say Rosa, not Gloria. Ack.
Susalynn, cocoon sounds great about now! :)
Rgv Chick, the paper products shelves here is SE MA were bare today as well. Hub ran into Walmart for something quick late this afternoon while a pallet of tp was rolled in. Pure luck, I guess.
Kirby, you told my kind of joke. Thank you. I have one too.
A well dressed man was riding a bicycle. A poorly dressed man was riding a unicycle.
What was the difference between the two?
A tire (attire).
Enjoy the rest of your weekend all!
Diana
But she thought he was still alive and he probly was cuz when tariq went to hang him up he looked at tariq scared the hell out tariq and he can't get that out of his mind. His conciance is
Kickin his butt.
Kirby you not gonna let nobody steal your toilet paper.:-)
Yes Sir?
I told this one customer that if he paid his bill in cash I would give a 15 percent discount.
So if I gave you $20,000 discounted 15 percent, what would you take off?
Oh Mr. Johnson, EVERYTHING but my earrings !
Kirby, you just gave me a good laugh LOL thanks for the jokes; I'll have to write them down so I won;t forget them. And Diana, I'm writing down yours too :-)
AMOR ETERNO
AnonFri, thanks for the recap!
Wow, Zeynep really surprised me. Turing down Emir and refusing to be his well-kept mistress was out of character IMO. AnonFri, I think you're right; Emir must care more about her than he is (and we are) willing to believe. Either that or he is just doing it to have her handy in case he needs her to stab Kemal in the back some more. ANd I think she will since Kemal told Fehime that he wouldn't leave Nep all on her own.
I don't like the way Hussein treated Fehime either, but knowing how some old-fashioned men with the "I am the MAN of the House" attitude are, it doesn't surprise me.
"I’m not afraid of the virus itself, but rather the way people are reacting to it. It’s a surreal feeling." I hope it doesn't get to the point that you feel impelled to stop recapping, AnonFri. The pandemonium out there is unbelievable; I'm hoping that people will soon realize that hoarding supplies and depriving others of necessary items is not the answer.
I'm trying to catch up and appreciate the recaps and commentary. I didn't realize Ozan was still alive with Tarik hung him. Does anyone know what epi that was revealed. I don't remember it being in the last epi when Tarik flashed back to the scene outside of the hospital.
Was glad to see Zenep get kicked to the curb by her family, well, except for Kemel....for now anyway. She turned out to be such an awful person. Tarik is not better. I don't feel sorry for him. He killed before Ozan so didn't think he was much better than Zenep when he was chastising her. Sure she lied about her reason for trying to smother him but they both got blood on their hands ...and for what...the worse person around them, Emir.
Disappointed that Kemel is sending Leyla on a risky mission to get a health card. Given the access she has, he should tell her to take a swab or grab some hair to do a DNA test. The medical history is a mute point once he finds out she's his daughter...since he pretty much knows most of the info coming from that fake doctor and Emir is full of lies.
I'm lost regarding the fake interviews...what purpose does this serve Emir...I know he's setting Kemel up for something but I missed the dialogue and don't quite understand the purpose.
Hello,
It pains me to say this, but I will not be able to do recaps until further notice. I've just had my first full day of working remotely and I have eyestrain/headache. I cannot see myself typing up recaps in addition to eight full hours of working on a screen each day. I've noticed that my vision has been getting a little more blurry than usual, and right now with everything that's going on I'm not sure I'll be able to focus either. I will continue to watch the novela, and possibly comment in the mornings, but I definitely cannot commit to recaps until things normalize again. I'm sorry! If anyone has any questions about what's going on, don't be afraid to ask! Perhaps I or someone else may have the answer for you!
Nett, I also wonder why Kemal doesn't just go for the DNA test instead of going around the block and thensome. Leyla did say she thinks it's because he fears that she's not his daughter. But still! He's a smart man, why would he go roundabout?
I'm not sure what Emir is trying to do with Kemal on the fake interviews, unless he's going to impeach him on something or possibly fabricate one of those fake videos where the footage will be manipulated to portray Kemal saying something controversial?
AnonFri
BTW, I also didn't catch the scene of Tariq hanging a living Ozan! Seriously when did that happen or did I recap and forget it?!
AnonFri
Thx 4 responding 2 my questions anonfri.
If im able 2 watch 2nite....i will ciculate my observations asap. If i wait too long...i wont remember. Cant call it a recap because im not confident in the language.
We have to be grateful that they cannot cancel Amor Eterno due to Corona Virus. Watching this at least allows us to escape into another world temporarily. Since we are in this pandemic for a few months, i do HOPE that some decent TN shows up as a “coming soon”. We have nothing good so far.
Also, hopefully the folks are still trying to downplay this pandemic will finally get on board and not ruin it for all of us!! We all need to play our part!!
I can't do a recap but will share what I saw today.
Kemal sends Leyla on a mission to get Deniz health card. unfortunately, she send him a picture of it that states that the blood of Deniz is exactly what Kemal was told in the hospital by that fake doctor. At the same time, Zeynep went home to gather some things, since she had a small luggage. She searched her mother's bedroom and found Deniz picture under the bed. She got thinking about the times Emir was furious about her taking Deniz close to Kemal. She got wondering if perhaps Deniz was Kemal's, so she called him.
He told her he was at Leylas and she showed up and gave him the picture. He asks her what kind of game she was playing. How low Emir could go to use a child/innocent. He kept it cool, not admit about his own doubts. Zeynep told him where she had found it and asked him if Deniz was her niece. He denied it and made her believe it was impossible for him and Nihan to have a child and that she was suppose to forget the whole thing and not tell anybody anything.
When Leyla got home he shows her the picture of Deniz and tells her she is his child. That his heart told him from the 1st. (So he believe it but made Zeynep who he thinks may be working with Emir, think he didn't.)
Emir wanted to punish NIhan and she met him at a cliff thinking she was meeting Kemal. He has Deniz in his arms and when she sees them she walks towards them. He set the baby into the carriage he had out and then tells Nihan she left them to meet Kemal and to tell him the truth and she denies it, He tells her to stop lying and every time she denies it, he releases one finger on the hand that is holding the carriage from rolling off the cliff. with only a one finger holding it, she caves in and confesses and Emir tells her she got him to do this and pushes the carriage over and Nihan goes crazy. She yells for Emir to hold it, but of course he doesn't. She runs screaming and Emir stops her from going over the cliff like the carriage did. Nihan is crying hysterically and both fall to the floor as he struggles to contain her. Emir finally tells her that Deniz did not die, that it was a doll. That he will never punish her again with her child. Nihan is emotionally devastated tho trying to believe what he said. Taufan had Deniz and brought her to where they were. (You can really see the hatred NIhan has at that moment.) He wants to take her home that she should not drive. She wants nothing from him. She takes Deniz and leaves.
She finds Fahime at the front door ready to knock. Nihan get out. Fahime tell her she has a debt with her. And NIhan asks what Debt? Fahime Tell her she thought Nihan had a home but it was a prison, a golden cage. That she thought that she could see but she wasn't seeing. She asks Nihan forgiveness. Fahime see something is not right with Nihan and she hugs her where Nihan confesses that she almost lost Deniz. For her not to follow her heart. Nihan asks her if she want to see Deniz and it's a tender moment when grandma gets to hold her grandchild for the 1t time and tells her that she loves her so much.
Okay. I'm off to bed. Hopefully someone else can fill in the rest.
Bren =0)
PS. I forgot an Important detail.
The reason why Deniz health card states the wrong blood is because Emir got Tufan to change it in every record until Kemal's suspicions are abated, then he will changed them back to the correct information because he doesn't want HIS daughter to be hurt by a fake report. PSYCHO.
He knew Kemal had discover Asu by her birth certicate and didn't want the same thing happening now.
