DAYTIME TNs…y Mas!: Week of June 1, 2020

Good Day, Caraymates!

Welcome to Daytime TNs! This page is being provided to give those who are watching daytime TNs on any channel a place to discuss any of the TNs aired prior to 6PM.  If you would like to contribute a recap or just some highlights for a daytime TN, I’m sure there are those who watch the same TNs that would appreciate it.

This page can also be used as a forum to keep in touch, discuss strolls down the Caray! Caray! memory lane, or anything else that is of interest to the patio.

Please remember that ANY daytime novela can be discussed and everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Friendly reminder to PLEASE put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for. (You can shorten the title to one word, i.e., “Vecina”; “Amores”)

"Daytime TNs" will be posted on Mondays only. There will be a different page posted on Thursdays with a variety of topics for week-end discussion.

RGV Chick: Good Morning from the Alamo City. How's it going with the social distancing ?

Good Morning, Steve. All well (waves from afar :-)

Alas, I am not watching anything at this time, so I have nothing to discuss. I still cannot get my DVR to record UniMas shows anymore and need to call Comcast ... when I have a spare hour or two.

Most Memorable Moments

Over the last 12 years, there are many marvelous moments indelibly seared into my memory. Some were heartbreaking, some joyous but many simply unforgettable.

One of the most touching for me was from Corazón Salvaje 2009.

The scene was between Laura Flores and Eduardo Yanez. Improbably, Laura played Eduardo's mother, although she is actually a decade younger. As she lay dying, the scenery faded away. The actors disappeared, there was only a mother, preparing to depart this world leaving her beloved son behind. Tears flowed and the love and devotion between the two transcended time and place. You not only saw the raw emotion but through both actors' carefully nuanced performances, experienced it as well.

I remember I cried for several hours after. It was some of the finest acting I've ever seen. My memory is no longer good but I am grateful that I still recall that beautiful scene.

Diana, Wow! That is really powerful and touching.

Telenovelas can be more than simple entertainment.

Thank you for your comment!

Andy, thank you for your kind post.

So nice to "see" you. Yes, sometimes our souls are stirred and this was one of those times for me.

Diana

Diana, ITA with you about those unforgettable moments in TNs. It just speaks to the talent of so many of these actors who bring us to tears (sometimes for an entire episode), have us laughing out loud, and make us use language we otherwise wouldn't use. I have a box of tissue, my beanie, and some nerf balls right next to my sofa :-)

Today I watched a little of LQNPA. It is everything AndyBanda said it is. LOL

I also watched around 15 minutes of Amigas y Rivales from 1996. It was fun to see some of those actors when they were much(!!!) younger.

LQNPA

Hi, Doris! I'm glad you looked in on LQNPA.

This is one crazy TN. I really feel for poor Ana Paula. I've never been a fan of Jose Ron, and if he is the love of her life she might as well just shoot herself. Whenever I think of the guy I picture him with his shirt largely unbuttoned, as usual, and stumbling around with a bottle of tequila in his hand and yelling "Hey, Stellaaaa!"

Or "Paula!" or whatever. And he has the impudence to question our beloved Cupcake about her actions? Who is he to question Cupcake?

OK, I know we are supposed to root for Rogelio, but really?

He is a total nut job who goes around in his wheelchair whipping people, even Hugo who helped save his life when he wound up in the lake, and even his sister, who was only saved by love crazed Efraín who put himself between her and the whip.
He drags poor Cupcake back to his lair by force and insults her. True, as Anita said, she can turn him into a love besotted bowl of jelly with a tear in his eye and an incredibly dopey look on his face. Big deal. She does the same to me and I'm just watching her on TV.

On the other hand, and for that very reason, I can sort of understand his "whatever it takes" attitude.

So they are both jerks, and where does that leave our delicious Cupcake?

Andy

"So they are both jerks, and where does that leave our delicious Cupcake?"
Easy. She is counting the days until her next telenovela role.
