Good Day, Caraymates!
Labels: daytime
Over the last 12 years, there are many marvelous moments indelibly seared into my memory. Some were heartbreaking, some joyous but many simply unforgettable.
One of the most touching for me was from Corazón Salvaje 2009.
The scene was between Laura Flores and Eduardo Yanez. Improbably, Laura played Eduardo's mother, although she is actually a decade younger. As she lay dying, the scenery faded away. The actors disappeared, there was only a mother, preparing to depart this world leaving her beloved son behind. Tears flowed and the love and devotion between the two transcended time and place. You not only saw the raw emotion but through both actors' carefully nuanced performances, experienced it as well.
I remember I cried for several hours after. It was some of the finest acting I've ever seen. My memory is no longer good but I am grateful that I still recall that beautiful scene.

Telenovelas can be more than simple entertainment.
Thank you for your comment!

So nice to "see" you. Yes, sometimes our souls are stirred and this was one of those times for me.

I also watched around 15 minutes of Amigas y Rivales from 1996. It was fun to see some of those actors when they were much(!!!) younger.
Hi, Doris! I'm glad you looked in on LQNPA.
This is one crazy TN. I really feel for poor Ana Paula. I've never been a fan of Jose Ron, and if he is the love of her life she might as well just shoot herself. Whenever I think of the guy I picture him with his shirt largely unbuttoned, as usual, and stumbling around with a bottle of tequila in his hand and yelling "Hey, Stellaaaa!"
Or "Paula!" or whatever. And he has the impudence to question our beloved Cupcake about her actions? Who is he to question Cupcake?
OK, I know we are supposed to root for Rogelio, but really?
He is a total nut job who goes around in his wheelchair whipping people, even Hugo who helped save his life when he wound up in the lake, and even his sister, who was only saved by love crazed Efraín who put himself between her and the whip.
He drags poor Cupcake back to his lair by force and insults her. True, as Anita said, she can turn him into a love besotted bowl of jelly with a tear in his eye and an incredibly dopey look on his face. Big deal. She does the same to me and I'm just watching her on TV.
On the other hand, and for that very reason, I can sort of understand his "whatever it takes" attitude.
So they are both jerks, and where does that leave our delicious Cupcake?
Andy
Easy. She is counting the days until her next telenovela role.
