I will put up a very brief account of some of what happened in tonight's episode.

100 días - el lunes - Parte 1 de 2

Plutarco buys some condoms and gives them to Dani. He says to Dani, "This is your first time, yes? You can confide in me." He tells Dani that using protection will make things better for Dani and for his girl friend. To my surprise, Dani thanks his father and hugs him. (I doubt my son would have responded so positively had his father bought him condoms and asked whether this was his first time.)

Reme arrives at the diner for her first day at work. José Miguel starts telling her all the things he needs her to do. "Got it," she says. (That makes one of us.)

Emiliano tells Isabel over the phone that they've found a nodule and she needs to have more tests done. She's very nervous. Fernando sees her, asks what's the matter, she tells him. He asks whether he'd like him to go with her to the doctor's. She indicates she would.

Ale asks Lucia whether she's OK, she hasn't been in school. Lucia is somewhat cool to her, since Ale broke off with her. Then Lucia tells Ale that her mother has decided to take her out of that school.

Roger invites Connie to spend the weekend with him in Austin and attend a concert under the stars, etc. Connie agrees to go.

Fernando goes with Isabel to the doctor's. Emiliano tells her (again) that they've found a nodule. She asks whether it's malignant. Emiliano says they don't know, that's why they need more tests ASAP.

At the diner, Bratty Benjamin and his friends see Reme--"the mama of the freak"-- serving food. "Let's have some fun," says Benjamin. They take photos of Reme, label them "The new server at the diner," and email them to Dani and to Ale. Ale confronts them; Benjamin goes on making snide remarks. When he's done, Ale socks him hard on the jaw. A larger fight breaks out.

Jimena spots Aurora, tells her there's no need to go to court, they need to talk to each other.

In the cafe, Fernando tells a worried Isabel that she'll be fine. She hugs him. That, of course, is Pablo's cue to enter the cafe and be jealous.

Connie writes down some numbers during a phone call, leaves the paper on her desk, and leaves. Of course, as soon as she's gone, Plutarco goes into her office, finds the paper, calls what turns out to be a hotel in Austin, and asks to confirm the reservation number written on the paper. The hotel clerk tells Señor Montero that the reservation is confirmed.

Emiliano makes an appointment for Luis with a therapist and gives Luis a card with the therapist's info. He assures Luis that he's not crazy but thinks he's the victim whereas in fact he's doing harm to other people.

The high school coach who broke up the fight between Ale and Benjamin demands to know who started it. Neither of them answers. The coach tells them to run laps around the field until he tells them to stop.

Dani and Mariana are in his room. This time he locks the door. Later, we see the two of them in bed. Dani says "I thought my first time would be special, but it was even better because I was with you."

At the diner, Benito and José Miguel look on with admiration at Reme.

Later, Emiliano tells Reme that his talk with Ramiro didn't go well. "Little by little," Emiliano says. Reme tells Emiliano that Ramiro has moved out to his workshop. He doesn't want to live in the same house with the rest of them. Emiliano gives Reme the keys to his house. He wants her to have a place where she can feel tranquil.

100 días - el lunes - Parte 2 de 2

Luis tells Jimena and Aurora that he will take responsibility for Nico and Susi. Jimena and Aurora tell him that he has to break the news to the kids that they're siblings, etc.

Emiliano again asks Reme why she doesn't divorce Max. He points out that her best friend is a divorce lawyer. Things go from bad to worse, and Reme tries to give him back his house keys. Emiliano refuses to take them back, saying "I want you to have my keys and my heart."

Jimena and Aurora confer for a minute, after which Jimena informs Luis that they've decided there's no need to tell Susi and Nico that they're siblings. At least, not yet. But Luis must come to Jimena's office to sign papers giving a pension to Susi, to Nico, and to Aurora. I think Jimena says she's a lawyer and doesn't need it. Luis agrees to do this.

Gloria comes to Emiliano's to see Plutarco.

At the hotel in Austin TX, Connie is somewhat nervous. She tells Roger that she's never travelled with anyone except Plutarco.

Reme returns home from the diner tired and somewhat depressed. Max asks her how her day went. He starts to massage her feet, and he tells her that he loves her, she's the love of his life.

Lying in bed with Roger, Connie decides to call home. Martín answer the phone and tells her about a trampoline and Gloria. He then turns the phone around to show her Plutarco and Gloria laughing and having fun. End of episode.

These episodes are beginning to be rather repetitive and for that reason, somewhat tedious. At least that's the way I felt tonight.

Thanks so much for the fine recap, Juanita. Sometimes short is just fine!

Plutarco just doesn't learn. Connie was close to a reconciliation with him until she found out about the Marcelo trick. And he doesn't learn from this, just listens outside her door and snoops into the contents of her desk.

So what is the matter with Benjamin? Remedios has a job. Are we supposed to believe that he's from some higher station in life so that it's shameful that Ale's mother is waiting tables? Gah! OTOH I thought they overdid it with Ale seeming to get the best of him in the fight. He IS supposed to be a star football player and does outweigh her by 50 pounds.

I think Emiliano is right being upset that Remedios isn't filing for divorce. She appears to be madly in love with him and he's been a rock with her and with Ale. Why should he have to settle for her continuing to live with Max? And Max took his cue from Darío that he should give Reme a massage.

I suppose this was the tit for tat episode. Plutarco is seething with jealousy over Roger. But Connie doesn't look too happy about Gloria joining Plu and the kids for a day on trampolines.

Whoops! I typed up mine not noticing Part 1 of 2. So your recap was not that short, after all!

Has anyone else noticed that Jimena is not so insufferable now that she doesn't have the perfect marriage? She isn't even speaking in that affected way so much. I am loving what the two of them are doing to Luis the Louse.

"ENEMIGO 2":

Novelera: Good Morning from the Alamo City. I'm assuming you've watched Season 2 premiere last night ?

100 dias. Excellent recap, Juanita! Doesn't taking Lucia out of school eliminate 1 of Marlene's power centers? How is it that Gloria shows up again? I thought she had broken up with Plutarco because she thought he was still too attached to Connie. It was very satisfying when Ale socked Benjamin. She may be smaller but she had the advantage of surprise and dexterity. Benjamin SO had it coming. I was surprised that Ale didn't collapse during all those laps, though. Is she no longer binding her chest so tightly? Dani is very sweet. He truly seems to love Mariana. Let's hope that she is the person she appears to be. And finally, Jimena and Aurora may no longer be friends, but they are very effective allies against Luis. Hope they take him to the cleaners!

Many thanks, novelera and SpanProf, for your insightful comments. novelera, I'm not all that surprised that you at first missed part 1 of my sort-of-recap. I had said that I'd put up "a very brief account," and that was definitely what I expected to do. Indeed, I didn't at first put a header of any sort on it, since I thought it would be just a very limited number of short statements and would certainly not go on to a 2nd page. Once I saw that the site's length checker was unhappy, I had to go back and add "parte 1 de 2" and then make a parte 2. So in a way, I never thought of questioning your "sometimes short is just fine," since each of the statements is quite short. And the observations you go on to make do exactly what comments should do, add depth and detail. While I hadn't noticed Jimena's becoming less insufferable (perhaps by now I automatically cringe when she speaks, even if she's being less abrasive), I too am delighted that she and Aurora have combined forces against "Luis the Louse" (love the tagline!).

SpanProf, good point about Marlene possibly losing one of her power centers if she takes Lucia out of school. But my guess is that Marlene's dominating personality is likely to create a new power center wherever she's involved. And I too thought that Gloria was out of the picture, but I figured either I'd missed something (in my case, highly likely) or the novela had cut out some scenes (also highly likely).

I'll put up a recap tonight.

100 días – martes

Connie can’t seem to relax in Austin, keeping in phone contact with the children. Roger is fully aware of how conflicted she is.

Max comes to the diner and meets José Miguel, Remedios’ new boss. Benjamin and the other jocks are back, shouting rudely for service. They continue to misbehave, and Max gets right in Benjy’s face. Emiliano shows up to calm the waters, especially reminding the jerk that the police will hear Reme’s side of what happened if they are called. But Max is furious that Emiliano is even there and leaves.

Ale and Lucía talk in the park. Lucía tells Ale that the reason she’s leaving the school is because she told her mother that she loved Ale.

Idiot Luis has hired some sort of spiritual healer. He tells the guy his opinion of psychiatrists and psychologists. The guru dances around striking a brass gong. This guy keeps eating the whole time Luis is explaining his point of view.

Darío comes to declare his feelings for Jimena. [Isn’t he married?] She weakens and kisses him. But then her snobbery gets the best of her, and she throws him out.

Plutarco, Gloria, Dani, Mariana, and Martín are at some sort of indoor amusement park. We get a funny scene of a terrified Plu ziplining. Later on, when Dani and Plu are alone, Dani does NOT want to discuss his sexual relationship with Mariana with his father.

In Austin Roger tells Connie he has to work for a while. He’s recording an interview with a woman about the bad conditions in ICE detention centers. Connie is impacted by the woman’s story and admires Roger for doing it.

Ale invites Lucía to the support group she’s going to attend that evening.

Luis’ guru leaves in disgust when Luis keeps insisting he has to have both women.

At the diner Remedios tells Emiliano she’s not in love with Max. But she can’t quite let him go. He’s always been there for her (except financially, as they showed at the beginning). He’s been a great father to Ale. She asks him if he can wait until she’s ready but will understand if he doesn’t want to.

Pablo, Fernando, and Frida are baking, I believe at Pablo’s, and they have a flour fight. Isabel shows up, now seeming fine with Pablo and Fer’s relationship. Fer offers to come over, as a friend. She’s worried about the outcome of her tests to see if the lump in her breast is malignant.

Ale and Lucía go into the trans support group while Emiliano, Max, and Remedios wait outside. I think this was quite a bold move for Telemundo. It appears there are real-life trans people there, and the leader talks about his difficult time, even attempts at suicide. Ale raises her hand in the meeting and says that she’s trans.

Aurora and Nico are staying at Jimena’s house. They make a vow to stand firm and have nothing to do with Luis. The meeting in the law office on Monday will be to determine alimony for Aurora and child support for the two children.

Martín comes around the corner and sees his father kiss Gloria. He’s very upset and Plu has a hard time explaining all this. The boy wonders if his father prefers Gloria to his mother.

At his home Ale talks with his three parents and Lucía about how much he got from the support group. He says that up until now his voice was hidden, but now he’s Alejandro Rivera. He tells his mother he prefers to be called Alex. However, Lucía leaves after saying she fell in love with Alejandra, not Alejandro.

{I typed the last paragraph using female pronouns but I went back and changed them.}

Thanks so much, novelera, for this excellent recap. I'm continually amazed at how you're able to give a clear, complete account of the episode so concisely.

I know we've seen Emiliano actually being a doctor, but he seems to spend very little time practicing medicine. He seems to turn up frequently for one friend or another. In this episode, I wondered why he suddenly appeared at the diner. I suppose it was fortunate that he did, since he prevented Max from getting into a nasty fight. And if Max had hit Benjamin and Benjamin turned out to be a minor....

So who in the world was that weird "healer" that Luis went to see? Was that the person Emiliano referred him to???

I too was impressed that Telemundo apparently hired some trans folks for the support group scene. And yes, I'll try to follow your lead and refer to Alex as he. I find it interesting that 100 días, basically a rather silly comedy, includes a serious issue like transgender. I think they're doing a pretty good job.

100 dias. Excellent recap, novelera! The weird healer was not the counselor Emiliano recommended, but someone Luis found for himself (online?). I thought their scene was hilarious, but even a probable fraud like the spiritual healer couldn't support Luis's desire to live in a polygamous household. Alex should have told Lucia about being transgender before the support group meeting. The indoor amusement park was great! Plutarco and Connie + family should probably done more fun things (assuming they didn't). I had a slightly more positive view of Gloria after that scene. And I think that phone call from the very important CEO's wife who wants a divorce may get in the way of Connie's and Roger's relationship--especially if the news is leaked.

100 dias

Thank you, Juanita and novelera for recapping Monday and Tuesday night respectively. You both provide great details along with added commentary for us to consider.

At first, I was surprised to hear Reme ask for more time and say she would understand if Emi didn’t want to wait for her. Then I thought about how she was devastated when Emi left her years ago. I guess part of her still doesn’t trust him or forgive him. And even if she’s not in love with him, Max is at least always there to comfort.

Where will all these little pieces will fall? I need a scorecard to keep track of all the possibilities. It’s exhausting.

Is there any chance that Jimena and Aurora will become “sister wives” or does Dario stand a chance with Jimena?

Will Gloria and Roger be left out in the cold? I’m kinda liking Plu with Gloria and so far, Connie is ok with Roger. SpanProf, I’m wondering too if Roger will blow it regarding the CEO’s wife.

Juanita, Luis the Louse (thanks, novelera!) doesn't trust shrinks (Emi's recommend) but he trusts this guy he found online after he checked the profile out on "Likebook".

IIRC, Marlene also has a son in the school. He was the one who had the $10 stolen. Was she taking him out of the school, too?

There were two other Telemundo trans characters I remember. Marina the trans prostitute in Mas Sabe el Diablo and more recently, Leo in Sangre de mi Tierra. Nothing was shown of Marina’s transition, but she and her lover were murdered after it was discovered. Poor Leo was dragged from a support meeting and stripped and beaten in public by her father. That was hard to watch. Fortunately, the father came around to accept her. I’m hoping that Ramiro will come around before the end, too.

dondi356

100 dias. Yep, it looks as if Roger is all set to betray Connie's trust.

100 dias. It turns out that Benjamin is not only an entitled high school jock and bully but a spoiled snobby rich kid who really does believe he's better than anyone else. And shouldn't Isabel be having a needle biopsy, which might make a surgical one unnecessary? Of course, surgery is more dramatic.
