I posted this message on the previous page 10 minutes before the current page appeared, so I decided to post a version of it here as well:
I put up today's (Monday's) Telemundo y Más page, scheduling it as usual to appear at 8 PM, EDT. However, it didn't appear. I then took a look, and although I had set it to appear at 8 PM, it was listed as set to appear at 11 PM!! My guess is that the new interface, which I used for the first time, somehow decided that, since I live on the West Coast, if I said 8 pm, I meant 11 pm EDT. Arrgh! Anyway, I rescheduled it, and it has now appeared. Sorry about the delay.
Plutarco claims that Connie is jealous of his new assistant, Yadira. Connie claims she's not jealous. (Ha!) Meanwhile, Tere is upset that she's always passed over and not appreciated. The ever sensitive Jimena tells her that some people are just born to be peons (that wasn't the word she used, but I couldn't catch it).
Luis meets Yadira. Plutarco immediately tells him not even to think about approaching her. Luis says not to worry, he's decided to go into therapy. He then goes near the door separating Plutarco's office from Connie's and pretends to call Pilar. Knowing that Jimena is waiting for Connie in her office, he supposedly calls Pilar and says (in a voice that can be heard through the door) that they have to end things, that he's still hopelessly in love with Jimena. Jimena listens and is momentarily thrilled. Then she berates herself for being thrilled.
The Bad Boys band is having a recording session. They think they've done well, but the boss tells them that though he loved their song, his partners weren't happy. They feel it needs more punch. He tells Max and the others that if they can't convince his partners, he'll have to cancel the contract. They try another song.
Connie tells Reme that Plutarco is just trying to make her jealous by hiring the sexy Yadira. The call ends, and along comes Iván. After a bit of persuasion, Connie goes off with him to some place with violin music.
Yadira comes on to Plutarco. She tells him she doesn't want to go home, it's so boring. "Are you busy tonight?" she asks. Plutarco tells her he's trying to get his wife back. Yadira apologizes, she claims she misunderstood. Then she tells Plutarco that getting Connie back won't be easy. "Mr. Acosta is VERY interested in your wife." [I'm now wondering whether she's been put up to all this by Iván.]
Max talks to Reme on the phone. She assumes he's in a fancy hotel. He tells her he misses her a lot.
The producer comes by and informs Max that they've turned his song into a hit. He plays it for them. "That's not our song," says Max.
Alex tells Lucia that she's no longer living at home, but rather with Emiliano. The two of them are walking through what looks like a park when suddenly they come upon three guys who look and sound like thugs. "Look what we have here," says one of them. Another asks whether Alex is a girl or a boy. The thugs menacingly start to come closer. Alex hits one of them where it hurts. They pull back. Then a cop on horseback comes along. He asks whether everything is OK. Everyone assures him it is. The three guys decide to leave.
Iván and Connie are still at the place with the violin music. Iván brings up all kinds of events they apparently enjoyed together 20 years ago. "Forgive me," he says, and he kisses her. Connie objects that she's separated but he's not. Suddenly, Iván spots his mother-in-law. She sees him and comes over. Iván tries to make it seem that he's been discussing work. Connie introduces herself to the mother-in-law and then shakes Iván's hand and leaves.
Plutarco overhears Carlos tell Tere about studying with Professor Oswald Smith. Plutarco asks him about this and tells him that he too studied with Oswald Smith. Carlos apparently knows that Plutarco wrote his thesis under Smith. Plutarco asks what year Carlos graduated. 2005. But Plutarco points out that Smith died several years before that. Carlos claims that Plutarco is talking about Smith Sr., while Carlos is referring to Smith Jr. Hmm....
Isa, Fer, and Pablo are talking. Isa tells Pablo that she'll be having surgery the next week, and that Fer will be with her. Fer goes off somewhere, and Isa tells Pablo that she thinks Fer regrets breaking up with him. Pablo says he regrets it, too.
Ramiro is telling Mónica how much he regrets that Alex is no longer living with them. Alex is his only grandson, and he misses him terribly. Mónica advises him to talk to Alex and to Reme, that's the only way to fix things. Ramiro is reluctant to do so. Reme doesn't like it when he meddles in her affairs.
Alex tells Dani about his encounter with the 3 thugs. Dani agrees that there are lots of nasty people in the world, but who cares what they think? Alex replies, "It's easy for you to say. Try walking in my shoes for one day, one second. I hate to say this, but I was f---ing scared, really really scared." Dani replies, "You're not alone."
Max tells the producer that his band is not going to make reggaeton. "That's not who we are, we're rockers." The producer tells him that this is his golden opportunity. Reggaeton is really hot. Max replies, "Perhaps we should break the contract and go back to Houston." The producer points out that according to the contract, he's the only one who can break the contract. If Max does so, the producer will sue him. He says to Max, "I'd hate to see you have to pay back money I know you don't have." Max asks how they can resolve the problem. The producer replies, "You know what you have to do."
Connie, Reme, and Vicki talk about Dulce and her new age nonsense. They wonder how Emiliano can like someone like Dulce; Connie replies, "Emiliano likes anything with boobs." [Perhaps not the kindest thing to say to your best friend.] Once again, Connie and Reme get very drunk. They reminisce about the past. [I'm wondering whether the very long sequence of past incidents before the start of tonight's episode, plus this rehashing of past events now, are really ways of filling up extra space created by the coronavirus shutdown.]
Iván comes to Connie's house. A rather drunk Reme opens the door. She recognizes him but calls him Germán. He corrects her. Connie comes to the door. Iván says he'd like to speak with her alone. Connie insists that Reme be present. Iván then says, "You said you don't date married men. Well, I've separated from Ingrid for you." He assures Connie (not that she asked) that Ingrid will get lots of money, and that their daughter Veronica will be happy, because she suffers when she sees her parents fighting. Connie tells him, "You have to make the decision for you. He assures her, "It is for me, I can't live without you." Connie feels he has misunderstood what she said. He wants to relive what happened 20 years ago. Connie tells him he should go home and get some sleep. They both need rest. At last, Iván leaves.
Plutarco has asked Tere to help him plan a surprise event for Connie to mark reaching the 50-day point in their 100-days contract. Plutarco gives Tere a good-natured hug, and of course Jimena sees this and starts calling him all kinds of names. Tere mentions to Plutarco that Carlos gives her a bad feeling.
[There was no way to work that in, but of course it takes on more importance later in the episode.] Anyway, Plutarco has Tere call Connie and tell her that there's a woman who wants to see her and is threatening to sue the law firm. Connie says she'll come to the office right away.
Reme is on the phone with Max and is very excited because they got the $100,000. She tells him that they're on their way to Carlos' house to pick up the check. She also mentions that he's not answering their calls. [Uh oh--looks as if Tere's perceptions are on target] Max is very angry at the producer and can't really keep his mind on the call. He quickly congratulates Reme and asks whether he can call her back later.
Back at the hotel, Max and the other two band members figure out exactly how much (or rather, how little) money they have. They've been had, and they know it. They wonder how they'll be able to get back to Houston. Max tells them, "We have our talent, we have our instruments, we'll think of something." "What do you have in mind?" one of his buddies asks.
Meanwhile Reme, Emiliano, and Pablo are in a car headed to Carlos' house. He's still not answering the phone. When they arrive, they ring the bell and tell the man who comes to the door that they're looking for Carlos Zapata. "I'm Carlos Zapata," the man says. It turns out that for several years, the person Reme and the others knew as Carlos Zapata was using the real Carlos Zapata's identity. Using that identity, he had swindled many people, including, it's now clear, Reme and Pablo. Apparently Pablo's parents put up a good deal of money that Carlos was supposedly going to turn into much more money. Reme and Pablo realize that they've been conned.
Connie arrives at the seemingly empty law office (not surprising, since it's Saturday). Then she comes upon a room that looks quite festive. Plutarco appears and tells her it's a celebration of their having reached the halfway point in their 100-days contract. "We're 50 days from a yes that will be forever or a no that will break my heart," he explains. "It's a coin toss. Don't leave until you know how the coin has landed." [He's talking to Connie, but also apparently to Viewerville.]
Various characters then appear to explain that filming stopped in March because of the pandemic, and that there's much more to see. So there will be a second season. We see everyone wearing protective masks. THE END
Oops. I just read through my recap and spotted two errors. I called Max's band The Bad Boys when it's The Bad Brothers. And at one point I referred to Alex as "she" rather than "he," making it seem as if Alex was saying that Lucia was no longer living at home.
I worried about you, Juanita, when the page didn’t go up at 8p Eastern. Glad you’re ok and it was just a tech issue. And I thank you very much for the great recap with some great asides of the final de temporada. I think I’ve referred to the Bad Brothers as Bad Boys, too. As the season unraveled, I began to pay less attention to detail.
There was something fishy about “Carlos” from the beginning. The real Carlos seemed pretty calm about the whole thing.
I’m glad that they finally explained what happened to the filming. I would like to know how this all ends up but I don’t know if I can sit through a whole other season of it.

Juanita, wow! Talk about spinning straw into gold! Excellent, thorough recap and really good asides.
Plutarco also told Yadira in a nice #MeToo PSA that their firm did not permit sexual relationships between the partners and the staff.
Max got back a bit of his own verbally when the producer said they'd have to repay the costs they'd accrued if they broke the contract. He sneered at the 3 of them in a cheap hotel. I was surprised that the producers apparently do think the Bad Brothers are good musicians that just needed that reggaetón background to make the song a hit. When I've heard them play, it's been mediocre at best. Maybe the actor playing Max is really doing the singing and playing.
I have always enjoyed that saying that Tere used: darse mala espina. It's used a lot in novelas. I just looked it up in my 2001 Idioms book and it's said that it means basically to give one a bad vibe. I've always thought it meant literally "gives one a bad spine", but the book also gave a definition of espina as thorn so maybe it also means to have a thorn somewhere in one's flesh.
I also thought they were filling up space in that rehash of scenes at the beginning. I very much liked the scene at the end where the actors openly said that the virus had impeded filming and then all donned masks.
I never thought Fabián Ríos could annoy me, but he's doing it in this novela. But then it's pretty common in novelas for the "other guy", often a real villain, to harbor love and/or lust for the heroine for decades.
OT, I've been picking up a feeling about myself lately. I watched one of those videos that friends send you. I sent it far and wide and enjoyed it. In a Zoom dinner meeting the rest of my friends assumed it was a set up with the people likely actors. I bought it hook line and sinker as a real event. I also did not really believe Carlos was a crook until my nose was rubbed in it last night. Severe case of naivete? I did get it when Plu said the famous law school teacher had died, but then he had a smooth cover up. That was when I smelled a rat, finally.
I liked Alex's scene with Dani. So far he's been a rock of certainty about his decision. But, to his best friend, he was very sad thinking he'd have to put up with a lifetime of that sort of bullying.
Wow! Thanks so much, SpanProf, dondi356, and novelera, for your terrific comments!
SpanProf, I too was surprised that Carlos turned out to be such a scumbag. As for Max's dilemma, I like your idea of the band doing small impromptu concerts to get enough money to return to Houston. And then? Who knows?
dondi356, thanks for your concern when the TyM page didn't appear on time. As for a season 2, I too don't know whether I can stand it. I loved the remark you made a couple of days ago: "All these on again, off again relationships are tiring. Do we really need another season of this?" I'm still not sure we do. Or at least, not sure that I do.
novelera I too was somewhat surprised that the producer was impressed in Houston with the Bad Brothers. But, then again, their music is not the sort of music I listen to, so I can't really judge. As for naiveté, I too have sent some videos to friends who questioned whether the people in the video were actors. I'm still not sure whether they're right. And I don't think we're guilty of being naive because we didn't suspect what Carlos was up to.
Oh well, I'm glad the novela is over, at least for now. I'm not sure what I'll watch. I took a look at Medicos on Univision, but it didn't grab me. Believe it or not, I may give Cennet a try, mostly because it's such a pleasure to hear (dubbed) Spanish spoken at an understandable rate of speed and without much slang. I hate the fact that the characters lips don't agree with the words, but I do want to keep hearing Spanish. If that doesn't work out, I'll have to find a plan B or C or Z.
Well, my online dictionary gives the first definition of espina as thorn and the secondary meaning as espina dorsal - spine. It appears to me that you would have to add dorsal to espina to come up with the translation spine.
So, having a bad thorn pricking you makes more sense than a bad spine!
A big thank you to Juanita and novelera for the excellent recaps provided throughout the entire show and to SpanProf for insightful and interesting comments.
novelera, thanks for the explanation of espina and darse mala espina. Sharing this kind of info is one of the reasons Caray is great!
As for Fabián Ríos, I read that he was looking forward to this role because it was something a little different for him. Maybe I'll just look at Ivan with the sound off.

Good question, what do we watch now?
I’ve been watching Cennet and I will continue. Juanita, it is very easy to follow the spoken Spanish. However, it is not easy to swallow the storyline. I think it’s an unintented laugh riot. No indication on what Telemundo will do after Cennet.
I wasn't grabbed by Medicos either.
I have no interest in Enemigo. I watched the first season and it wasn’t bad. When I tuned into season 2 premiere week, it seemed like a totally different show and I decided to take a pass.
I’ve also been (re) watching Fatmagül on UniMás, one of my faves. It’s a little more than halfway through.
dondi356
Dondi, I also watched Médicos last night. I only recognized one actor, a nurse, who seemed on the evil side. She is Erika de la Rosa and she played the usual obsessed woman on Bajo el Mismo Cielo. She was trying to get Gabriel Porras to fall in love with her.
There were so many characters and their motivations were not clear to me. I'll look for recaps on Caray/Uni and see if I can sort them out.
Something called, IIRC, Te Doy la Vida is in ultimas semanas, so maybe there will be something new worth watching.
There is s Brazilian novela coming to Uni “soon” whatever that means. It was a tremendous hit in Brazil It is called “Dulce ambición.” (A Dona do Pedaço”)
Thanks for the heads up on Dulce Ambición, Jarifa. I've enjoyed watching a few of the Brazilian novelas. I thought Avenida Brazil was great. Preciosa Perla was very good, too.
