MEDICOS
For Friday night's episode #23--We've given Lila the night off and I'll be subbing for her.

Disclaimer—I don’t watch ahead or use CCs, so my ears and eyes must suffice. Timeliness is iffy. After watching, taking notes, rewinding, writing, posting, it may be into the wee hours of the night--so probably don't look for the post until Saturday.

I will struggle with the action and hopes it makes some sense. This will be the Highlights of the Highlights of a Reader's Digest Version, since I do not understand Medic-Speak, nor Business-Speak, in English or Spanish. I can figure out Relationship-Speak to a certain degree.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2

The Highlights of the Highlights will be posted tomorrow afternoon. ; )

"COMO TU NO HAY DOS":

Jarifa: Looking forward to seeing the full detailed recap.

Fabi is STUPID! All I have to say....

MEDICOS

Thank you, Anita! I am really looking forward to your RDV and know it will be great! Believe it or not, one of my caps last week was supposed to be an RDV. THANK YOU!!

Also, I don't see the "Read More" link from the home page to get to the comments. I had to come straight to the "Leave your comment" page. Thanks!

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 #79 Part 1

Highlights of the Highlights

Fabi stops by to talk to a serious Toño and asks about his bruised face. He shrinks from her touch and says the other guy got the worst of it. She is a worried that in spite of his condemnation of Felix, he is headed down the wrong path. She refers to him paying for Mayo’s grandfather’s funeral. He tells her not to worry. The last time he ended up with something that wasn’t his, it just went away. She is afraid that he is treating her as if her feelings for him don’t matter, just like before. He assures her he isn’t. She looks for assurance asking that if he tells her he loves her she can trust that. Toño says no land that If he ever said that to her, he was lying. She is upset for herself being the same fool as always with hm and leaves without hearing any explanations.

In Veracruz, Germán and Luchita are on the way to see Socorro. He is telling her not to be so angry with Socorro that she is unable to get the info she needs on her other son. She is really angry with herself for having been stupid enough to let herself be bossed around but she is all over that now.

Tina meets Jordi at the studio. He didn’t think she’d come when he told her about the calendar. She has a few doubts and wants to know what kind of a calendar was he talking about. As he looks her up and down he says he has two projects. One would be for a repair shop where she’d have to be topless. As she looks on in shock he tells her how well those kinds of shoots pay. What does she think?

Luchita remembers Socorro telling her how sorry she was that her baby had dined. Trini sees them and tells them that Socorro is too ill to see them. Luchita doesn’t care and rushes into the house anyway. Trini agrees to tell her that Liz María is there to Talk to her and she will not be leaving until she does.

Luis tells Fabi that neither Renata or Vale will talk to him.

At the cab stand, Fabi is on the phone with Ed who is at the market. He tells her that Toño just bought Mayo a watercolor set so she doesn't go out to buy another one. As she talks to him, she spots Ric approaching her. She clarifies with her dad that Toño is currently at the market. She is perplexed thinking about how Toño can be like two completely different people as she approaches a smiling Ric.

Trini escorts Luchita into Socorro’s room. Luchita introduces herself. Socorro remembers her and thinks back upon the birth of the twins. She tells Trini to leave. Luchita informs Socorro that she knows her son didn’t die. What did she do with him?

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 2

Fabi is thoroughly confused and asks Ric who he is. He says he is Toño. She tells him she knows he isn’t Toño because she just talked to her dad and Toño is at the market. She notices that Toño had a bruise to his left eye and Ric has one to his right. Those aren’t Toño’s clothes. Who is he? Ric says he wants her to know everything and the time has come to tell her the truth. He says he is Toño’s brother. They were separated at birth. He tries to explain that it is he Ric who is in love with her, not Toño. He is Ricardo Reyes Alonso. She thinks back to Nati talking about her boyfriend Ricardo. She tells him he is Nati’s husband. He wants to know how she would know Nati. She is outraged and thinks that they all are trying to make her part of some sick joke. She wants it know why he’d be going around pretending to be Toño. Ric says it was the other way around. Toño is the one who pretended to be him. He explains about the accident and the amnesia and how everyone tried to convince him he was Toño as the real Toño just stepped into his life. He explains how Toño married his fiancée because he fell in love with Nati the first day that he saw her just like he (Ric) fell in love with Fabi. Ric wants to go to the market to confront Toño together. Fabi says she will be going to the market but by herself. She, also, isn’t very happy he had sex with her without her knowing who he really was. She calls that abuse. She tells him, whoever he may be, to stay in his world with Nati and Damián and not to hurt her anymore.

Trini tells Germán about how he worked for the Reyes Alonso Family in CDMX for a while until he And his girl broke up and he got enough money together to help out his godmother.

Socorro tries to avoid discussing the truth but Luchita tells her that Felix already told her that her son was sold and she knows a woman named Dora was involved.

Dora arrives to visit Socorro and Trini tells her that she is with a lady who she helped with her birth many years ago. Dora looks suspicious.

Luchita is in Socorro’s as Dora comes in and asks to speak to Luchita. Lichita tells her to butt out and Socorro tells her to say nothing. Luchita finally realizes that This is Dor a who was involved with Felix and Socorro in the selling of her child. As Luchita accuses her of buying a baby Dora tries to explain that it isn’t what she thinks. Luchita threatens her with a knife to get the truth. Germán rushes in to stop Luchita and drags her out. Dora cries for her as she asks Socorro if she realizes rhe great damage they caused. She asks Socorro why she never told her that Ric’s mother was still alive. They could have avoided so much pain.

Outside, Germán tries to calm Luchita down. She tells him he understands nothing about a part of you being taken and sold like a piece of merchandise. Germán says they can look in CDMX at a the home of a rich family that Trini told him about. He and Dora worked there and it is owned by the Reyes Alonso. Luchita has seen that name before on one of the checks that Felix had. It looks like Felix is still getting money for having sold his son.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 3

Dora comes home and tells Claudio she has a lot to tell him. Claudio tells her that Ric has run the company Into the ground almost to the lint of bankruptcy. Dora cannot believe it and Claudio shows her the accounting records. What is even worse is that it looks like it was planned. He is maybe Ric knows the truth and this destruction of his company is his form of revenge. Claudio says he loved him when his own father didn’t want him. She informs him that Socorro and Felix involved them in something really terrible. Ric has a twin brother. Claudio cannot believe that Felix would separate his own twins. Dora adds that the worst part is that Ric’s mother didn’t die in childbirth and is looking fo her other son. Felix and his wife brought up one son. Dora says Felix and Socorro also fooled his mother. His mother also knows who bought her other son and Dora is expecting her at their door at any moment.

A not too happy Adán says that he got a call from Jordi about Tina working with him on a calendar. He wants to know what kind of calendar she is working on. She isn’t talking. Evidently what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Trust is a two way street.

Luchita is going to go home and set things straight with Felix after finding out what she did.

Claudio pays Felix a visit and tells him he now knows all about Ric and his brother and what Felix pulled. Felix says this has nothing to do with his other son. Claudio insists it does. He never told him that Ric had a twin brother. Felix blames it all on him being really drunk that day.claudio adds that he knows that Ric’s mother is alive. He wants Felix to make sure she doesn’t find out about Ric’s whereabouts. Felix says as soon as his wife gets home, they will be gone for good from CDMX. Claudio tells him to keep his wife under control at least until he can tell his son Ric the whole truth. Felix isn’t so sure. Claudio wants it all out in the open so nobody can go blackmailing anyone anymore.

Fabi tries to explain the whole Nati/Toño/Ric thing to Tina. She says she was with Nati’s husband without knowing who it was. Tina looks just as disgusted as Fabi.

Mariana will not take Germán’s lukewarm and ambivalent reaction to her any longer. She makes the decision for them noth by returning the ring and leaving for good.

OT:

RGV Chick: Can you update the primetime title please ? There's a new Telenovela airing: "Vencer el Miedo".

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 4

Luchita comes home and Felix wants to talk to her. She has had it. She knows he sold her baby and wa rs to ‘ow where he is. She starts to beat on him but he ends up beating her up instead for spoiling his source of income.

Tina wonders if Fabi is really in love with Ric. Fabi pauses and says doesn’t think so since she has been in love with Toño her whole life. Tina wonders about that pause. Fabi’s phone rings and Tina answers it because they think it is Ric. Instead, it is notification from the graphic novel contest. Fabi has won but cannot really enjoy it with the whole Ric/Toño mess.

A bloodied and bruised Luchita takes Felix’s bag of cash out of its hiding spot in the closet and leaves the house with it.

Fede is living his dream with Sol having her make him tea and askIng him how his day went. He leaves and comes back to her. She tells him how sappy he is. He asks if she would still marry him if the doctor said he didn’t have long to live. She looks upset. He says if she can’t be his wife, she can at least be his widow. Sol isn’t down with that. She insists he isn’t going to die.

Charlotte ministers to Luchita and tries talk her into filing charges against Felix. Charlotte calls her out for still making excuses for him and then using Renata’s possible negative reaction as an excuse to not to go to the police. Charlotte says by not filing charges she is making herself a part of the problem, She adds that Felix clearly has no qualms about making his kids orphans. Luchita has to put a stop to it and she will go with her. Luchita finally nods in agreement.

At the restaurant, Estrella decorates (like a statue) the ever grinning Murillo with flowers in his wheelchair. Remedios is surprised to see him back. Luna explains he came to when Sol left, but returned to his grinning self when Sol came back. Remedios concludes Sol must be carrying the family curse. Sol needs to go far far away. Sol overhears and asks why? Where does she have to go? Remedios makes up that she has to go to Puebla to investigate the curse. She was there already and the witch that placed the curse was long gone. Sol says it seems like they want to get rid of her. Her sisters insist they love her and want her there.

Adán goes to Jordi’s company to ask him about what kind of calendar his wife did a shoot for. The receptionist says Jordi is in a meeting but she can tell him that the latest calendar that came out was for a repair shop. He wonders what that means: a regular calendar or something more . . .. She says all the calendars are sexy with models with little clothing. She recognizes him from the underwear shoots he did. He leaves ASAP.

This is the bridge between Wednesday’s Lilacap and Monday’s. If you feel there are facts, details or important conversations lacking or in error, please point them out.

Médicos #23
8/14/20 Some scenes are combined to make the recap seem shorter. Pt. 1 of 5

René has Mireya between a nut and nut cracker. She stands before him while he flaps the paper request for her transfer to another part of the hospital from Regina. He tells her he’s the only one that can put a stop to it. “So, what’s it going to be? Let me slime all over you or start working in some outpost far from me? Which should I do?" She stares at him. Then she sadly asks him to help her. René is all shrug-the-shoulders in helplessness. Since she doesn’t want anything to do with him, what can he do. Why should he help her or even keep her around the Institute. Mireya reminds him that he’s the one that ended things. [This is going to be a long session, Caray Peepers. Mireya just sat down.] She begins. She’s not made of stone. [Well, if you ask some of the nurses, the nicest thing they’ll say is she’s definitely not made of putty.] She was so looking forward to their romantic weekend...as he interjects, “Yes, to run back to my wife.” Looking at the transfer request again, René says, looking as if he’s ready to stamp and sign it, “It’s probably the best for all three of us.” Mireya is temporarily deflated. [My, my, René is good. Not good-looking, but a master of manipulation. (See earlier evidence of him dealing with suppliers.)] She begs him not to make her beg. René says he doesn’t want things to change between them.

Later, Mireya, still seated, after begging anyway, is waiting for René to rescind the order, or not. René stands, locks his office door, whirls her around in her chair and locks his arms around her. [‘Cmon, Mireya, you know it’s him or your job. You know you want the job. There are so many nurses out there to order around and humiliate. Take your medicine and give in to the creep.] She simpers a bit. She pouts a bit. She was sad and angry, she says, and didn’t know how else to react. René gets up close and personal and whispers they make a great team. He needs her to give him an opportunity to show her how important she is to him. [But not worth enough to leave Constanza, Puff, their beautiful home or the place in Valle del Bravo. He’s not stupid. He’s just not good-looking. It’s all about strategy.] Mireya weakens. He comes in for a kiss of reconciliation and then, just as fast as the kiss was, he’s all business. He’ll see what he can do about Regina’s request, but it won’t be easy, he tells her. Mireya folds. He tears up the request. He is triumphant.

Rafa and Lily spend some quality minutes in a hallway, discussing how she feels about Mireya. She had promised to have Lily fired if she herself is fired. Rafa swore he told her nothing she had told him in confidence in an earlier conversation (about Gonzo and Reg). Lily, exasperated says it’s harder to defend Mireya than to tolerate her. He reassures her that Mireya won’t do anything to her. Lily wishes she could believe that. Rafa gently brushes a wisp of her hair back, but it doesn’t stay there. He promises to go to bat for her if Mireya tries anything.

Médicos #23
8/14/20 Pt. 2 of 5

Marco is trailing David who is on a tear through the hallways to the nursing station. As he goes, he checks on Marco’s assignments, itemizing the supplies that have been used. Marco answers affirmatively. Marco finally stops him and asks David what he has against him. The other residents are already seeing patients. [He whines in an upper class voice.] David curtly reminds him if he doesn’t like it here, he can go someplace else. Marco says he can’t do that. Montesinos knows how important Marco is to the Institute. So chew on that Dr. David, he says to himself. He continues. What would Dr. Olmedo think if he was informed that Marco had been changing bed pans and bathing patients. Dr. David, having chewed on that, says is this a menace and urges him to go ahead and see Dr. Olmedo. Marco swears it isn’t. He wants Dr. David’s help—otherwise, he might just pay Montesinos a visit.

Marco is still trying his darndest to impress David with his qualifications. David tells him he’s nothing special. The other residents had to pass some tough exams to get into this program. He’s human, just like they are. Marco realizes he’s met his match and sort of backs down, asking if he could be given some tasks that are closer to his specialty. David grabs a blue folder with the Institute logo on it. He says, “See this? It says Institute of Specialties. This is where patients are sent from other hospitals whose cases are complicated and come to us to resolve them.” [Capiche?] “You are here to learn and not to show off in front of others. If you don’t like it, go ahead and talk to Gonzalo, then come back and tell me what he says.” Everyone in the nursing station is transfixed by the exchange.

El Tirano has been admitted and is resting in bed. He’s not a happy camper when Regina and Cynthia come to see him. Reg turns it over to Cin. She tells him they have the result of his x-rays. He’s in bad shape, from his head down. His spine is out of alignment and no longer has the natural curve. Worse, his cervical vertebrae are damaged. His recuperation will be long. The danger is so great that if he returns to the ring, he may possible die. ELT says luchando is all he knows. He’d rather be dead. Reg doesn’t want to hear that. This will be the fight of his life—to reinvent himself. He doesn’t think he can. Alone with him she says everyone has problems. She shares her own recent personal problems as an example. She urges him not to give up.

In the breakroom, Pan and Tania listen to Diego tell the story of ELT. Daniel arrives. The girls go for lunch. Diego begs off. Turns out he has no money. {Of course, he spent all his spare cash mailing the purloined supplies to his father.] Daniel shares his sandwich. [Don’t know why it’s called a torta instead of a sangweech. Where I grew up torta is CAKE. Hmm. I’m going to take a break myself for tea and a Luna Bar.]

Darkness falls outside. Inside the Institute it’s still busy and bustling. Reg approaches Mireya to tell her she changed her mind about the transfer. Mireya isn’t out of the woods yet. Reg reminds her that they got along well before her promotion. She doesn’t understand what changed. Now they have problems. Mireya is a little snippy in her defense of herself. All she wants to do is her job. Reg says it wasn’t that she wasn’t doing her job. It was her attitude towards Reg, the staff and the patients. If this continues, it isn’t going to work. Regina expects her to be part of the ER team and do her job. Mireya looks momentarily chastened. Reg suggests they start over with a clean slate. Mireya agrees. They shake on it. Reg tells her she talked with René and Gonzo. [We on the Patio were not privy to these conversations, so we must take what René says later with a great big salt lick—the ones for cattle.] It’s in everyone’s interest for her to stay. They need her there.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 5

Before Remedios leaves, Sol tells her how sorry she is not to be the source of the Morales curse because if she were, she could leave them behind and know that she could make her sisters happy in doing so. Remedios bites her lip and leaves.

Felix wakes up and finds that his bag is missing. He wonders if it was his damn wife.

Luchita shows up at Claudio’s company with the bag. She forces her way to Ricardo Reyes Alonso’s office. She will not be stopped or dissuaded. She enters his office and throws the bag with the money on the conference table. Ric has his back to her. She tells Ricardo Reyes Alonso that he can have his filthy money back. Ric seems to recognize the voice and turns around. They stare at each other.

8/14/20 Pt. 3 of 5

Oh, oh, Gabe, of the Too Happy Family, is sick. Dr. Daddy Luis has a pill to cure him. All will be well in the morning. Gabe hopes so. Yep, he's fine by breakfast, ready for an important training session. Dr. Daddy nixes it. He must stay home. Gabe protests. Dr. Daddy says he’s sentenced to playing video games all day. Gabe is ok with the punishment. [Does this portend an end to the family happiness or is it just filler because it sure doesn’t feel like a plot propeller.] Dr. Daddy tells him about meeting ELT in the hospital. Gabe knows all about him.

René is feeelin’ good. His thermos is getting a workout and he’s sing-songing to himself. He hears a knock. He wills it to be Mireya, but it’s Ana. She’s pretty pumped about the new dialysis machine that Gonzo obtained. René says and what is he, chopped liver? Ana thanks him for his part. Sadly, there is a dark cloud that formed over her as René speaks to her. He makes sure it rains on her. In effect, Gonzo is just a “get it and forget it” kind of guy and she shouldn’t take it as anything special. He did it because he knows he can’t control Ana and this was a way to get in good with her. Ana doesn’t believe him and lets him know it.

Ana passes the dark cloud back to René when she refuses to get ensnared in his plot to keep an eye on Gonzo. He feels he has a long way to go before becoming worthy of the position as director. Ana sees right through him and accuses HIM of trying to manipulate HER. If he’s having a problem with Gonzo, solve it on his own. René does a bad job trying to convince her that is not what he meant. Ana stands there with her arms clasped across her chest. [And all us armchair psychologists know what that means.] He keeps trying, claiming she misunderstood. He always wants the best for the Institute. He tells her that with time, she’ll come to see that Gonzo just isn’t ready to be the director of the Institute. Ana says it doesn’t look that way from her vantage point. René assures her that Gonzo is done with her and not to expect anything more for OPC. [Seeds of doubt have just been scattered under that cloud that has just been blown back over Ana’s head.] However, Ana still doesn’t believe that. René hopes that isn’t so. Ana reminds him she doesn’t put her trust in anyone, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t recognize that “someone” is doing their job well. Before this is prolonged, there is a knock on René’s door. Before he can say come in, Mireya walks in. Ana is surprised. Mireya looks surprised. Ana leaves.

Mireya stammers that she came to thank him for saving her job. He says it wasn’t easy. It was to demonstrate how much she means to him. Before long we are treated to watching René getting an upper chest treatment, administered by Mireya. She coos that she and Reg agreed to a truce. René chuckles, assuming to himself that he had everything to do with Reg’s change of heart. He says he’s doing the same with Gonzalo. Mireya complains it’s not the same because she can’t stand Reg. He’s sure their “arrangement” will bring to light mistakes and inefficiencies to be use against them.

Cynthia is in the breakroom by herself mulling over what she had to do with ELT. Rafa comes in and she tells him how unprepared she was to have to tell a patient his career was over. Rafa seems genuinely sympathetic and persuades her to have dinner together, to alleviate her cares. This time she says yes.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2

A really enjoyable episode because things are moving now.

My favorite scene: The ever grinning Murillo decorated with flowers as if he were some sort of mannequin . He made me think of an Xmas tree.

My least favorite scene: Luchita getting beat up one more time. She should have kneed him or done worse in that area of his anatomy.

My new piece of information: Repair shop calendars In Mexico are racy! I never knew.

My most satisfying scene: Mariana leaving Trout Face in her dust. YAY! I wanted to cheer.

My favorite character of the capítulo: Tina who is holding her own very well.

GRAN FINAL TUESDAY 8/25

Médicos #23
8/14/20 Pt. 4 of 5

David wanders in to the doc’s lounge just as Reg learns she can pick up the keys to her new apartment. She’s overjoyed. Her eyes sparkle. She gives him a winning smile. [Interesting that neither of them says anything about now being close neighbors in the same building. You’d think that might come up for us to hear.] David says he’ll be happy to help her move. He wants to know if there is something else bothering her. She says nothing. He says he knows her—she does this thing with her neck (?-cuello) and furthermore, they aren’t arguing. She’s surprised he takes an interest in anyone else besides himself. But she likes that. David says he always want to make her feel better. She now sees him with different eyes as she looks at him kindly. So, she wants to know, what else has he noticed. David indicates her hands clasped tightly, wringing her fingers when she’s stressed. All of a sudden, David jumps up and takes his leave awkwardly after touching her hair. Reg smiles to herself.

Daniel arrives home to find Papa Paco trying to stem a leak in the ceiling. He calls for Mama Elena. She’s happy to have him home. Daniel asks her to fix an extra torta for tomorrow. He has a friend who doesn’t have enough money for lunch. Mama gets gushy and says she will. As an aside, she tells Paco to get a plumber. On the telly, it’s announced that the big lucha libre match has been cancelled. ELT withdrew. Daniel knows because he was admitted to the hospital. Papa wants to know what for. Daniel doesn’t know. [HIPPA, my boy—you can’t tell your dad even if you did know, although that never seems to be a problem in many of our tns.]

In a restaurant-bar, Cynthia and Rafa, sitting at the bar, are having wine with their plate of plain pasta. They tease, flirt and get a few serious sentences into the conversation. Cin feels impotent having to tell a patient being discharged that they can't resume their normal lives. It feels like she’s failed in her job. Cin’s mom interrupts the pleasant, easy talk with Rafa. He probably saw the look on her face when she identified the caller as her Ma. She steps away from the bar to talk. Ma, as effusive as ever, tells her all the arrangement have been made for Pa’s big event. Cin tells her Ma she doesn’t know if she can swing the time off. She’ll try to get someone to cover for her. Ma offers to pay someone to take her place, horrifying Cin. Anyway she gives her Ma a half-hearted yes and returns to the bar. [She’s wearing a cute little black dress, very appropriate, while Rafa looks a little shaggy and rumpled, as bespeaks his character.] She explains that her Ma is a bit “special.” They call it a night and leave. Later, it’s nighttime and Rafa can’t sleep. He reaches for the sleeping pills, the ones that made him late a few days ago. He doesn’t take them. Instead he texts Cynthia and she texts him back. He said, “I had a good time. You should have come home with me.” She answers, “You wish! But yes, it wasn’t bad.” He turns out the light and falls asleep.

We take a detour to Art’s place. Cecelia tells him she likes the prospects she has for a new gig. She’s planning to do everything she can to make it happen. He says that whatever happens, he wants her to be OK. And by the way, he’s made that appointment for her with the psychiatrist. She wants him to accompany her. He won’t. He says she has to do this for herself. Then they get busy on the counter, not cooking, well, cooking up something.

Médicos #23
8/14/20 Pt. 5 of 5

[We are introduced to two new characters now. The young woman reminds me of Fatima Torre, last seen, by me, in Corazón Que Miente, but was also in Soy Tu Dueña. Don’t recognize the husband.] A blondish woman with bangs comes down the stairs in obvious discomfort for what she thinks is just the flu (grippe). Her husband appears by her side, concerned. He suggest she see a doctor. She assures him she’ll be ok. He offers to make her some tea. She doesn’t think that will help. She’ll just take a couple of the antibiotic pills he was prescribed when he had a sore throat a few days ago. The next day, Erica finds a rash on her inner arm and covers it up. She feels worse. Hub is again at her side. She stumbles over to the bed. He can’t get her to stay home. She has an important meeting.

Gonzo and Reg have a last night together. It’s bittersweet. They are going to miss each other. Then, just as easily, they start to talk about mundane things like how she’s going to furnish her place. She explains that she got rid of everything in the old place that reminded her of Sergio. She’s starting with nothing. When he asks how the divorce is going, she says ok, not very assertively. She has a lawyer friend handling the case. Gonzo tells her if she needs a big gun, his dear friend Alonso will help if things get complicated.

Diego runs into Pam, who is a little woozy from having given blood. She has a rare AB Negative. He takes her for a quick bit to eat before she has to meet Dr. Paredes for rounds.

Regina picks up the keys to the very modern, very empty apartment. She thanks the real estate agent and she returns the thanks.

Daniel greets Tania who is reviewing patient records in the nursing station area so she can be ready for Reg. Daniel tells her about the patient he has which is causing him a lot of worry. It’s a boy with leukemia who won’t eat and doesn’t want any more treatment. He invites her to come with him, just as Cin comes looking for him. They all head upstairs. Cris’ mama is trying to get him to eat. [She hasn’t tried Guzmancito’s “here comes the airplane” trick to get Nikki to eat in AV.] He turns away from her. Just then the three white coats enter. Cris stands his ground. He knows what is happening to him. He’s done with it all. Cin leaves and says she’ll be back with someone who will convince him otherwise. Cris doesn’t think so. Cin returns with El Tirano. Cris is momentarily taken aback. His eyes grow wide and he puts his hands over his mouth. Obviously he knows without being told, who this is. The docs leave and with an emotional mama watching from the doorway, Cris and ELT have a heart-to-heart talk. Finally, in a supreme gesture of self-sacrifice, he removes his mask and gives it to Cris, telling him he won’t be needing it any more. ELT is finally revealed as: Cristian de la Fuente...not. He’s an ordinary guy whose life has just been upended. Mama holds back the tears. Cris looks up in awe and ELT looks back at him.

Dang, the previous scene should have been the last. Instead, we find Ana has corralled David in the supply room looking over pill bottles. She comes onto him. She reminds him of other good times they spent there. She thinks it might be worthwhile reliving them. He keeps backing away from her as politely as possible saying a long time has passed since then.

Jarifa, I apologize for starting to post Medicos before you finished. It read as if it was the end. But after I realized you always put FIN after the last part. So Sorry.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2

Anita, there is no need to apologize. With this format with different shows on one page, it is going to happen and is no big deal. Most of us have to write and post when we can. It’s all good. ; )

Como tú

Adan is very “do as I say not as I do.” Tina needs to dump that prick. She also should get rid of that matte lipstick. Looks bad.

Ricardo is so childish. What’s the point of throwing indirectas at Claudio and Dora all the time? Get the truth out and get moving already.

Poor Fabiana thinks she was taken advantage of. In a way, she was. Ricardo should have told her the truth as soon as he found out.

Finally Mariana dumps loser German. Not that it means much to him...

"COMO TU NO HAY DOS":

Jarifa: Thank you very much for the detailed recap.

1.) I am glad Charlotte put Luchita on notice regarding the domestic violence.

2.) When is law enforcement going to stop the Latino OJ (Felix) ? I cringed when he kept beating her.

3.) Fabi is still STUPID. She needs to get her damn head examined.

4.) Adan: Tina is just using your dumbass.

5.) Grinning Murrilo still grinning LOL.

6.) Mariana dumping German wasn't shocking.

Anita! Bravo y Muchisimas Gracias!

Anita, I think you jinxed yourself. When you volunteered to take this day, didn't you say you might end up with the yucky twosome! HA HAHAHA! You gave them more dignity than they deserved. I liked this:

René has Mireya between a nut and nut cracker. and He’s not stupid. He’s just not good-looking.

You also got a wonderful Marco SMACKDOWN! That dude keeps trying to throw his supposed weight around and it ain't impressing anybody! He has become a little more tolerable. I think he could end up being a really good guy with a new-found ethical base and sense of his own and others worth! Or, he could become a bad guy seeking revenge for his medical hazing.

I love the El Tirano story line! We all picked up that he would be sent on a mission to lift little Chris' spirits. Gosh, I just wanted to reach through the screen and squeeze that cutie pie!! I agree that the scene of El Tirano giving him his mask should've been last: it was beautiful, powerful and awwwww-inducing! The sweetie-pie!

Gabriel being sick, I think, could end up being more than a filler. The family is already close, they don't need to let Gabe have a deadly illness to draw them all closer. I don't know. Just doesn't seem like the end of this.

Glad to see Ana call Rene out on his attempts to manipulate her. What an idiot he is: she already told him she was on to him. He puts all women on the level of Mireya. I remember in an early episode he touched Ana's arm (I think it was) and she gave him a look like, "schmuck off, scum!"

Thanks for bringing out a couple of things which I didn't note while watching: Gonzaolo offering his "Big Gun" Lawyer, Alonzo, if Regina needs help. Wasn't Alonzo in the second episode congratulating Gonzalo on his selection as Director? Also, I think Alonso will be involved when they resurrect the El Ciego storyline. Anysho.

The other thing was how did I not gather that David and Regina are in the same building -- DUH. More on David and Regina later. So. They left us with Ana putting the move on David in the supply room. UUUUuuff! That heffa! She is chanelling Random Chick, ain't she? PLEASE, novela gods, let David fake her out, leaving her to kiss a cold vertical bar on the chrome shelving!

Now. David and Regina in the break room. He caught her at a good moment, having just closed the deal on the apartment HE found for her. Anita, I loved that scene. David was subtle but intense in expressing his care for Regina and his "obsession" with making sure she is and feels allright! And she picked up on it, too, and encouraged it by asking him what else he has noted about her when she is feeling stressed. And the way she leaned in to his answer, smiling. Oh yeah, and their song was cued in the background! His leaving suddenly was, I thought, not a Rafa-esque move, but maybe a natural instrinct to not try to get any more intimate than he already had, to leave her with that expression of his care and satisfaction that she was happy. Oh, yeah, with more than a foot in the door with the offer to help her move. Smooth. Again, I don't think and am not implying that you did either; I don't think he was playing her, maybe, knowing her as he obviously does, maybe he knew that was enough of him for how.

But if he lets Ana kiss him --HE LOSES ALL THOSE POINTS!!!

Thank you, Anita, wonderfully thorough and snarktastic!!

Medicos

Anita, thank you for capturing every detail .

Everyone wants David , but he wants Regina. Tale as old as time.

OT..Diana, if you are reading this, know that good vibrations are still coming toward you ))))))))))

Medicos. Excellent recap, Anita! I loved your asides. Though this was WAY more than a Readers Digest version, and I'm glad that it was. I also loved the interaction between El Tirano and the little boy with leukemia, especially ELT's gift of the mask to him. Without that mask ELT is a benevolent looking fellow in early middle age--very simpatico. I hope they show us a little of how he finds his way--maybe as a coach? Someone who deals with young people?

MEDICOS #23

Gracias, Anita/ Good job and I don't think you missed anything.

El Tirano is played by Latin Lover; I knew I recognized his pecs from somewhere. This scene was perfection.

While Ana seems to be defending Gonzalo now I still can't trust her. She hates Regina and she wants David. Too ba, so sad..... not! Ana, your time has come and gone.

Medicos. I also love Regina's very positive affirmation of life philosophy.

COMO TÚ

Greetings JARIFA, and thanks for the highlights. I especially enjoy hearing your own reactions to the characters and events.

Murillo DID look like a Christmas tree, and very pretty he was too. Not the most fun role to play, but the actor is doing it well. And while it was dreadful to see Luchita beaten up again, THIS time she got in a number of licks on her own. Good to see her fighting back. And making off with the money. Our "esposa abnegada" is becoming a lot stronger as we near the end of this story.

I continue to enjoy the more mature actress who is playing Big Sister Sol. Her facial expressions and ability to do some physical comedy as well are very impressive. And her love story with Fede is rather sweet.

I overate all those wonderful Dim Sum snacks you made the other night. And I've been taking a lot of Advil lately for a case of the shingles, which isn't helping my stomach. I may have to stick to carrots and celery for the next one, with some homemade hummus. You are most welcome to all you want of that!

MEDICOS

ANITA, you are hilarious! This:

Some scenes are combined to make the recap seem shorter. HAH!

and these:

Gabe, of the Too Happy Family, is sick.

Ana stands there with her arms clasped across her chest. [And all us armchair psychologists know what that means.]

Those, and so many other "asides" were just delightful ANITA. Thanks. And I actually liked Ana last night as she refused to be manipulated by the oh-so-slick René. And I also couldn't help but like our sleazy Rafa when he immediately referred to Cinthia's mom as his "suegra". The lad is too fast out of the gate. And watching him decline the sleeping pills for a text to Cinthia instead--a sign she'll be his redemption? We shall see.

Worried about the "too happy family" and the sick kid. And the young woman. Are they going to be bringing in a Covid-19 story? Yikes. That's concerning on a number of levels. Escapist fare this is not.

But your rollicking, clever recap certainly was a nice break from the news. Gracias ANITA.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2

Anonymous, with Ric being a logical guy, he just should have consulted a lawyer and gone to the police because his bitter reaction makes little sense when accompanied by no action.

Steve, Murillo seems to be having the most fun out of any of them and he’s unconscious.

JudyB, hummus and veggies will be perfect! I think I ate one two many bbq pork buns myself. It was a great moment when Luchita took the money bag and left. I can’t wait to see what Ric has to say to her. Should be good!

Lila--I hope you enjoyed your rest. You obviously didn't rest your eyes and ears because you provided us with some great insight and amplification. Yes, early on when Regina was exhausted from looking at apartments on line and in the ads, David ponied up that he would check in his complex and he took it from there. They actually may not be in the same building, if there are several in the group. We shall see how close neighbors they really are. You said about Ana, "That heffa! She is chanelling Random Chick, ain't she?" Yes, she is. She just can't help herself around David. I wonder why this wasn't resolved BEFORE the tn started. Oh, yeah, gotta have a complication in David's life so the tried and true trope of Reg "misunderstanding" an attack beso, later on.

Susanlynn--"Everyone wants David, but he wants Regina. Tale as old as time." How true, the eternal triangle. So far he's held back. Taking it slow. Giving her space. Letting it build. Trying to soften his general attitude. The scene in the doc's lounge was about as close as they've been so far, as he said, "Without arguing." It's a step we all want him to take, if only to fend off Ana.

SpanProf--Yes, so far the ELT-Cris scene has been the tenderest. With the look Cris gave him, I'm sure he will want to reach out to other children. However, he should take a stand to discourage that kind of fighting for the long-term danger it poses to those in the profession.

UA--Thanks for identifying El Tirano. I'd heard the name Latin Lover, but wouldn't have recognized him. In his fighting tights, that might be a different story. Anyway, he IS a famous professional luchador. In that hospital gown, he looked like any other Mexican man past age 50. (Check out his physique when he was younger!!!!)

JudyB--You caught this, I didn't. Thank you. Clever boy, "And I also couldn't help but like our sleazy Rafa when he immediately referred to Cinthia's mom as his "suegra". We've seen this before where a new boyfriend tries to ingratiate himself by using that term. We also saw it used in reverse--remember Gina in Te Doy La Vida? She used it on Ester before the boda interuptus and after as well. Ester was clearly not endeared to her or that term.

Diana--Missing in Action. I hope you are out of surgery and recovering nicely. I thought about you the last few days during Medicos, I wonder why. Get caught up and rejoin the Patio. We all miss you.

ANITA...Rafa's smooth move reminded me of a wiseacre French fella I knew decades ago. He was in the US for a year's study at the business school and was cutting a wide swathe through the fields of attractive coeds. Anyone he dated he referred to as a "fiancée, initially, and soon thereafter as "my wife". After a year, there were many abandoned wives on campus as he headed back to Paris and his studies there. Funny guy. But a rascal. Like Rafa.

Medicos

Looking forward to seeing what happens next on Our show. Will Regina be living close enough to David to borrow a cup of sugar !?

OT....Hi, Diana...good thoughts and good vibrations continue to be sent your way))))))). We miss you.

Médicos

Thanks Anita!!!

All I have to say is I loved David chewing out Marco, I wanted to clap at my tv! David said everything I’ve been wanting to say to him!

MEDICOS

My dear Anita, you possess a silver tongue and golden heart.

"[Seeds of doubt have just been scattered under that cloud that has just been blown back over Ana’s head"] was written perfection.

"[Don’t know why it’s called a torta instead of a sangweech. Where I grew up torta is CAKE". Exactly!

I feel I missed nothing due to your spot on visual imagery.

A wonderful treat and greatly appreciated.

Thanks to you and everyone who have wished me well. A few small setbacks but hopefully am on the mend.

Diana

Médicos

Nevermind, i have more to say lol

That scene with David and Regina in the break room was sweet, I really liked it! And when David suddenly rushed out it seemed to be like he realized he was being vulnerable and so decided to take himself out of the situación. He’s this tough guy (like with Marco), but deep down he’s a softie! And apparently not comfortable with that side of himself

Anita, i think it was you that mentioned that it’s odd that the situación with Ana and David hadn’t been resolved, and I also think there is something more to that story that we don’t know about yet. It makes no sense that if Ana has been interested in David for years, that she had not tried to make a move until now, especially since they work at the same place! I think David must have been in a long-term serious relationship or even married. When he was talking to RC he said he doesn’t believe in relationships or marriage, which makes me think someone must have deeply hurt him for him to feel like that

Médicos

Regina did not move into the same building that David lives in.

I don’t think it counts as a spoiler if I mention something from the episode that aired in Mexico if that episode already aired and Univision cut a scene, right?

When it aired in Mexico, there is a scene with David riding his motorcycle and suddenly sees a “For rent” sign. He pulls over, takes a picture, gets back on his bike. Later at the hospital, he tells Regina that he casually came across a place that was for rent and will send her the details

Diana!!!! So good to "see" you! Yes, indded, you keep taking care of yourself and take it easy!

Hmmm, Anon So David rides a motorcycle? That fits him.

Anita! Yes, the misunderstanding of the "attack beso!" You are SO RIGHT! Please, don't let Regina just happen to come into the supply room just in time to see an "attack beso." I replayed the scene with Regina and David a couple of times it was so sweet.....novela gods, let us enjoy that before you fudge it up, PLEEEEZE!

OT...Diana...so glad to "see" you.

Médicos

Thanks a bunch, Anita. Good to the last drop. Love your asides. My fave: [My, my, René is good. Not good-looking, but a master of manipulation.

Diana, hello! So sorry you have to go through this. You are a sweetheart to check in. Keeping you in my prayer circle. ((((((((()))))))))))

"VENCER EL MIEDO"

Judy: Are you watching this Telenovela ? It's very intriguing with a great cast.

Medicos
Anon at 5:31–Thanks so much for clarifying the apartment enigma. I guess we can’t have them too close this early!!
Motorcycle. Suits him.
