I'm afraid I would fill up the whole page with handsome guys. But I do have a few top favorites.

Cristian de la Fuente, Juan Soler, Fernando Colunga, William Levy, Jorge Salinas, but each with their "own" telenovelas: Amor Bravio, CME, the Colunga trio of novelas de epoca--Amor Real, Alborada and Pasion, Sortilegio, La Que No Podia Amar.

Anita, thank you for posting the thread for me. I'm on a mini break with my family, not too far away from home, but in a location remote enough to have not so great signal.

I see Fernando Colunga has a lot of fans. I used to like him a lot in his novelas de epoca, but his latest stories didn't impress me much. I'm looking forward to seeing him in something new.
I noticed I especially like Rulli when he's paires with A. Boyer, but I don't see him click as well with other actresses.
 

OK, I'm back with more handsome, manly faces that please me. Some are duplicates, and that only goes to show that beauty is in the eye of lots of beholders. I'm a bit fickle, though. If I don't like one of my telenovios in their next offering, I drop them.

Michel Brown - in anything (or nothing on), but first in Amar a Muerte (Note: He's from Argentina. When he got really excited and talked fast, his River Plate accent and cadence came through. His birth name is Misael Browarnik Beiguel--who would have guessed. I wonder what his schoolmates called him when he was little.)

Carlos Ferro - Caer en Tentacion (Note: Probably no one remembers that he had a role in Eva Luna, but spent most of his on-screen time in jail. Then, he moved up to a meatier role in Reina de Corazones and nailed it as a lead in CET.)

Brandon Peniche - Un Refugio Para el Amor (Note: We all fell in love with Patricio.)

Guy Ecker - Enjoyed him first in Eva Luna (Note: He's of American parentage, born and raised in Brazil.)

Jean Paul Lerouz - Saw him first as Jorge in Quiero Amarte. (Note: He was most recently in El Dragon as Trejo, Miguel Garza's trusted buddy. He's from Venezuela. I call him Diego Olivera's clone, which leads me to--
Diego Olivera in Montecristo--long hair and an adept fencer (Note: He's from Argentina.)

Caua Reymond - In Avenida Brasil (Note: He makes love to a woman the way he would really make love to a woman. He's a Brazilian actor.)

Horacio Pancheri - Un Camino Hacia el Destino (Note: He's from Argentina)

Fernando Carrillo - Maria Isabel (Note: He's grown much older, still handsome, but hasn't done any novelas in years. He turned into a bit of a bad boy. He's from Venezuela.)

Rodrigo Guirao - the handsome, seductive, but really evil guy in Rubi (Note: He's from Argentina.)

If you are unfamiliar with any of these hunks (or softer-sided galans), just Google them.

Cristian is from Chile, Juan Soler is from Argentina.

If anyone noticed a bias toward South American actors, I plead guilty. They really grow them handsomely down there. It must be something in the water.

Hmmmm. So many pretty faces in so many novelas. My all time fave is Jorge Salinas in MCET. I think he was at his peak in that novela.He looked so good in a suit and tie!
 

Jarifa--I have to agree. We rarely see Rogelio smile or laugh in LQNPA, nor did we in Te Doy la Vida, but we see all facets of his wonderfully expressive face in MCET. Thanks for the reminder.

I enjoyed reading everyone's choices and there is someone for everyone! Although I do see we share many of the same bonbons. :)

My first, my last, my always is Eduardo Yanez. When I first laid eyes on him in Destilando Amor, my love for telenovelas began. My crush on him remains as strong to this day with La Verdad Oculta and Amores Verdaderos being my favorite roles for him.

William Levy and his white pants in La Tempestad are forever ingrained in my mind.

And I agree with you on Sebastian Rulli Adriana. He IS best paired with Angelique Boyer but he was fantastic in the original Rubi, with Barbara Mori.

I loved Pasion. It was the first time I saw Fernando Colunga and I was blown away. Then I saw bits and pieces of Alborada - likewise. But I feel he is best suited to swashbuckling, romantic roles and his subsequent roles did little for me.

Love Arturo Peniche and the velvet throated Cesar Evora.

Horacio Pancheri, Eugenio Siller and Arturo Carmona (not exactly a lead galan but close enough :) are other choices.

And in terms of acting alone, Jorge Salinas was pretty perfect in Te Doy la Vida.

Diana, when you mentioned Levy's white pants, it immediately brought Ivan Sanchez and his very colorful and tight trousers to mind. I love him, too, soooo much.

Anonymous...Louis Roberto Guzman had a wonderful role in Alborado aS Fernando Colunga's,character Luis's villainous cousin Diego. He really chewed up the scenery with Daniela Roma in that period drama.

Eduardo Yanez -- I first saw him in Fuego La Sangre, kneading bread in that white sleeveless T. Ooh-la-la. I prefer him in casual wear (or no wear, like the famous skinny dipping scene). Suits never seem to fit him just right. Diana, I agree La Verdad Oculta and Amores Verdaderos are his best work.

Sebastian Rulli -- He's gotten better with time. In an early TN (I only half-watched and don't remember the title), I thought him too thin. Hope he returns soon.

Carlos Ponce -- There was one TN that I didn't like, but I'd tune in just for the credits to see him. He's got a cute boyish grin that reminds me of my first crush back in grade school.

Michel Brown -- Those eyes. He can convey vulnerability and strength at the same time. He's got that "it" factor - charisma.

Jorge Salinas -- No one could do puppy dog eyes like him. I prefer when his characters have an edge, like Rogelio in La Que No Podia Amar and even evil Ernesto in Te Doy La Vida. Light fare just doesn't tap into his deep range.

All these guys are maturing very well. I hope they keep aging naturally and don't let some foolish plastic surgeon mess with them.

Of course the same goes for women, who more often than men get a knife job in their efforts to look younger than their years--and extend their star status. Que lastima that this is where the money goes instead of where it is really needed--decent health care for the underprivileged.

It brings to mind our arrogant Resident Marco in Medicos, who wants to by-pass all the scutt work so he can hurry up and open his plastic surgery office.

Colunga --- DIANA - I'm with you. I had a mad crush on TBLMOE in his historical period telenovelas. Not so much in contemporary ones. I think he's "had work done" and looks odd to me, nowadays, as do many actors who've "had work done."

Juan Soler - I really liked him in Reina de Corazones

Eduardo Paloma (QEPD) was another hottie.

William Levy is nice eye candy. So is Big Ed Yañez.

Doris and Niecie, I've loved Carlos Ponce for a long time now. You should check him out in Santa Diabla (he was at his hottest and playing the villagonista) or Dame Chocolate (a decent revenge story, one of my favorites ).

Ah,Eduardo Palomo!! My mom was crazy about him, I was only about 13 when I saw him in Corazon Salvaje, but nobody could ever come close to his Juan Del Diablo. IMO

Doris,ITA on Colunga. Have you seen Juan Soler in Marido en Alquiler, another Telemundo story? A good comedy that actually made me laugh (as opposed to what Televisa calls funny).

Niecie, I used to love Ed Yanez in the 90's,he had one great novela for Telemundo with Adela Noriega, can't remember the name but it was something about a revenge (can you tell that I like revenge stories). But I think he should have started playing older characters sooner. Watching him in Corazon Salvaje or Destilando was difficult. He's very easy on the eye, though :))
 

Adriana--I checked for you. The two were paired in 1993 in Guadalupe.

Here's the Wikipedia plot summary:

"Ezequiel Zambrano is a powerful businessman from Miami who has a love affair with his maid and leaves her pregnant. Adela Noriega was still very young, and so was Ed Yanez...ah...it's been almost 30 years!!

I haven't seen some of the guys you all mentioned in a TN, but I must agree that all of them are HAWT. For me, Michel Brown makes my socks roll up and down the fastest. I first saw him in "Falco" then in "Amar a Muerte." The man oozes charisma--great looks, great personality, and that accent is to die for. Carlos Ponce, Cesar Evora and Burak Ozcivit (Amor Eterno) trail close behind him. And who can't help but melt with Danilo Carrera's smile??

Dondi, what a blast from the past! Carlos Ponce in Seventh Heaven - wasn't he dating one of the daughters? He was so young then. My first Ponce novela was Sin Pecado Concebido, with Angelica Rivera - he had such a baby face in that one.
I remember Jencarlos from Mas sabe el diablo, too, but I didn't like him that much in that one (shocker!), the long, greasy hair didn't do much for me.

Gotta start getting on these Turkish novelas, I think. They have been around for over a decade in my home country, I actually watched Pasion Prohibida (staring Jencarlos Canela) in parallel with youtube clips from the original Turkish version. And years ago, back home there were a couple of stories that kept me glued to my screen.

RGV Chick, check out Michel Brown in Amores de Mercado (he was the lead) or Pasion de Gavilanes (one of the brothers) _ he was younger, but already showing great eye candy potential :)

great list!! so many handsome leading men! since he has not been mentioned yet, I have to add mark tacher from la hija del mariachi. He simply was a-ma-zing in this tn, and although I am not so much a fan of his other roles (will admit he was oh so fine in QTPD), this role raised him to my #1 spot in telenovela BFs and no one has toppled him yet :p

And to the fans who mentioned juan soler, I recommend watching him in apuesta por un amor, that man looked so divine.....

 

I agree with all the choices except for a few:

* Carlos Ponce. No!!
* Michel Brown knocked my socks off in Pasión de Gavilanes. His blue, mesmerizing eyes and haircut did me in.
* Fernando and Eduardo are getting a bit old. Also, Luis Roberto Guzmán doesn't do much for me.
* And boy, can Pablo Montero and Eduardo handle a horse! I loved to hear Eduardo's spurs clacking during FELS.
*I have watched all three of Estrada's novelas de época at least ½ dozen times and will probably watch them at least once a year.
* Nobody kisses better than JenCarlos Canela. He always brushes his co-actress' hair gently back behind her shoulders to dig in for the best smackaroo.
*Jorge Salinas and his dimple! Such a mature cutie! I wish they'd let him sing more.
*David Zepeda turns me off completely! His bulging biceps are too much. And why can't they make his shirts fit? Is he gay or what?
* Fernando ties the best tie ever and wears the best outfits — CME.
* Mark Tacher's smile gives me butterflies.
* IMO William Levy was at his best in Sortilegio. Such a commanding presence. Too many tattoos in La Tempestad though and OMG, his hair must have had hidden bugs.
* I guess I have a preference for long hair. Hunk Sebastián Rulli in Teresa and Fernando in Pasión and Amor Real.
* Did anyone ever see Eduardo Verástegui in a novela before he became celibate (supposedly).


 

William Levy and Sebastián Rulli are overrated. They give off overinflated ego vibes.

Eduardo Yanez is a macho man. But he’s not as appealing to look at. Still, he’s a macho man and that’s his strongest appeal.

Jencarlos Canela has to be the prettiest handsome guy of the bunch.

Love Juan Soler in all his novelas. Jorge Salinas too. Could not believe people preferred Colunga over Salinas in Pasion y poder.

Mark Tacher isn’t convincing, but I’m biased because of his character in Que te perdone dios. Eww....
Ferdinando Valencia is better.

Took a peak at Burak Ozcivit. He’s definitely got it all.
