Weekend Discussion 9/26/20: Crimes of Fashion, 8th Edition featuring Prominent Medical Personnel

It's that time again! With fall fashion coming into full bloom it's time for us to look at the fashion felonies and misdemeanors of our favorite people. This is our special Medical Community edition. In some cases the crime is more about how inappropriate the clothing is for where or when it is worn.:

Constanza Castillo makes a compromise in a form-fitting dress with sheer overlays... in matronly grey.

Dr Ana Caballero seems to not care that this dress is terribly frumpy for a formal occasion. It looks more like something to wear around the house on a cold winter night. If she wanted to impress Dr David Paredes, she more than missed the mark.

This is particularly true in view of the contrast with Dr Regina Villaseñor, whose form-fitting ensemble discreetly displays her assets (although I wouldn't have added that top row of ruffles). She is also the only woman in this room who could ever wear anything in Tangerine.

This clash of color shows there is obvious dissention in the Guerrero family...

...not to mention the dowdy cut of Patricia's dress.

Residents Pamela Miranda and Tania Olivares both had flattering gowns, but look more like trophy brides than doctors.

In the meantime, Dr Rafael Calderón bucked the usual formality, looking more like a fugitive from a Three Musketeers film.

Social worker Luz Gonzales has it all going on in a simple halter gown in royal purple

While Nurse Mireya Navarro wears the mark of her status as the Scarlet Woman. She should have noticed her slip was showing before leaving the house to crash this event.

That's all for today, fashionistas, but we'll be back!  If you spot any Class A felonies out there you know what to do.  Just take out your trusty smartphone to document the crime, send it to us, and we will bring the charges.  Don't forget to follow us on Twitter #CeEFashionFelonies!

There will be a future edition for Imperio; not enough material on it yet.

"She should have noticed her slip was showing before leaving the house to crash this event."

I suspect that was more of a statement to put to rest rumors that she does not OWN any undergarments.

No undergarments while on duty would be a health code violation.

Urban, great screencaps of the fashion dos and donts and analysis of the outfits.

I had the same feeling that Rafa looked like one of the Three Musketeers . I like long hair on men , so I liked his shoulder length flowing mane. I don't find him handsome in a classic Adonis sense , but I think he is very attractive .

Most of the women had attractive gowns on , but the wardrobe department putting Ana in that big, old thing is probably meant to remind us that she is a poor soul .

Great fun URBAN. I found myself thinking much the same about each outfit while watching the episode. But really, the wardrobe department was especially cruel with Ana. Well, Mireya as well...because she looked like a cheap floozy with that slit up the side and the underslip showing. While Constanza, the "legitimate" lady was swanning around in a dress that would probably cost a year's salary on Mireya's pay grade. A fitting reminder that Mireya is just a supply room lover and will never be in the front room. Just hoping she'll wake up in time to torpedo René high-riding boat. Those little piggy eyes of his just give me the creeps.

Urban! This is great!! Thank you! I didn't know it would be a separate page! Your sharp eye and fashion sense is just what THE BIG GALA needed! ITA with everything, except with I'm with Susanlynn, LOVE The Three Musketeers look and y'all know I think Rafa is a fox!

Poor Ana! What a terrible hunk of nothing she was wearing. I noticed the old-timey print, but this screen shot shows how awful that dress was! Do you know if these studios just have a whole lot of outfits for the actors to pick from with a little "guidance" from the Director to stay in character? If so, what were they saying about Ana? I have to say, though, that dress and her almost compulsive chattering about how Regina is a bad choice for David made her feel like less of a threat!

Luz did NOT look like the stereotypical Social Worker in sensible shoes! YAY!

Patricia's dress was kind of a sack. Is something falling from the shoulders considered attractive? Seems she would've looked better in that!

And Miryea! OMgosh! was that her slip? I thought it was part of the ensemble? Whatever it was, she took in what the other ladies were wearing and after Constanza gutted her, what else could she do?

JudyB Your whole comment about Rene/Constanza/Miryea should go over to the MEDICOS board! It's HILARIOUS AND TRUE!!!

Thanks, Urban, well done!

Urban, great idea to talk fashion!!

Can't stand Constanza, but she does know how to pick a winner of a dress.

I have to agree with Susanlynn, Rafa looked gorgeous...and also think he looked like one of the three musketeers.

If there was a flood, Ana would certainly survive...she could also use that dress as a parachute :-D

Judy, I have to agree about Patricia's dress, but then none of her wardrobe has impressed me. I also agree with your comment about Regina's dress (on the Medicos page)--"the ruffled mid-piece was a disaster."

I thought Pamela's dress was a bit too much...too much glitter.

David -> HAWT!

Lila, yes,I thought that Mir was pulling at the short under part of that gown when Cons was verbally gutting her. Renee's two mujeres may be the forces that expose him and topple him off his high horse to power..Cons pushing him and him pushing Mir to do some of his dirty work .

That would definitely be what Rene deserves.

Constanza might come off visually has having class, but the way she spoke to Mireya betrays that she doesn't.

BTW, does anyone else think that this was rather a shabby room for what this event was supposed to be about? Where was the high ceiling? The chandeliers? The carpets? The waiters with fancy hot hors d'oeuvres?

Amen on the venue, Urban, it was not impressive at all! Come on, people! It looked like the same room in the hospital where they had the party for the 15 year old patient.

If they could spring doe to go to Vallarta, why not at least get a fancy hotel ballroom for the BIG GALA!!

It's not over, I wonder if Art is hanging around to cause some kind of escandalo!

Oh yeah, everybody sat in front of empty place settings! I know, they don't want the actors getting fat or somebody choking on something!

Great photos and snark, Urban.

If that is not a slip showing, maybe it is color co-ordinated long line Spanx. ;-)

Urban, "With fall fashion coming into full bloom it's time for us to look at the fashion felonies and misdemeanors of our favorite people. This is our special Medical Community edition. In some cases the crime is more about how inappropriate the clothing is for where or when it is worn" was just perfect.

So much fun to read everyone's comments.

Other wonderful comments over on the Medicos line. Here's Judy's which need to be noted here as well: “Felt sorry for Ana. She looked so matronly and frumpish in that huge, unflattering dress. The bright scarlet was a wonderful color for Regina, but the ruffled mid-piece was a disaster. Better a smooth, classic sheath, like Cinthia had on, to show off Reggie's great figure. IMO. Pam and Tania looked quite fetching I thought”.

Who wore it best? Tania. Second place, Connie, third, Pamela. Yes, Pamela's was nighttime glitz but she looked lovely. Honorable mention: Patricia (I seem to be alone in this choice). :)

Best hair? Rafa. And yes, Susanlynn and Rgv Chick, he looked amazing.

Worst Dress? Regina. Sorry, the color was spot on, the design was not. I also agree with consensus that Ana's dress fell into the category of what not to wear. The dress appeared to be very heavy and reminded me of drapes that Scarlett O'Hara used to fashion HER dress in Gone With The Wind!

"Luz did NOT look like the stereotypical Social Worker in sensible shoes! YAY!" had me smiling away Lila. So true!!

"If that is not a slip showing, maybe it is color co-ordinated long line Spanx. ;-)". HA! Good to see you doris.

Urban, I agree completely on the plain, unimpressive venue.

Thank you for doing this Urban. You always have the most creative and fun topics.

Diana

Haha loved the commentary!!

I hated Regina’s dress. Those ruffles? Just.. no.

I think Ana was dressed in an ugly dress on purpose. She has a tiny figure and I don’t think they wanted to outshine Regina (even though I didn’t like Regina’s)

I thought the best dressed was Tania. She looked HAWT! If they didn’t want someone stealing the limelight they should have put Tania in the potato sack hahah

Diana, so glad to "see" you. Yes, the first thing I thought when I saw Ana's dress was" Wow, that fabric looks so heavy! "

Urban my friend you catch the smallest of details: Nurse Mireya Navarro's slip showing. Most of the time I miss the minutiae. For sure an excellent wardrobe choice.

Do actors get a choice in their wardrobes? I often wondered how the bottom of their shoes always looked scuffed up.
