MARIANA

A big decision on the horizon: Isabel has given Camilo a way out of his marriage now that Chachi wants a baby. She realizes that mental illness might run in the family!!!! Camilo still loves Yadira but won’t get a divorce because he is worried about Chachi. Who does he really love? Maybe he is just plain old stupid like Iggy who decides he has to bring Carol a photo of Mariana so she can help find her ????? You think? The only smart thing Iggy did was to go to sleep in Mariana’s room to get away from Marcia.

Marcia and Chachi continue to be both insufferable.

Mariana realized she was being pimped out at the casino before we had to go through another ugly assault. She gave Iván all of the jewelry back but the earrings. Were those hers?

VERY BAAAAD arrangement of “Sabor a mí” but there was an even worse musical interlude with Iggy in the magical glade reciting lyrics to the theme song as it played in the background.

Atilio is even more disgusting with his heavy breathing as he spied on Mariana in the hall and as he played with the voodoo doll sticking through needle all over.

If Camilo understands the beliefs of the people and is left without a diagnosis, why doesn’t he just get Ignacio a curandero? Why waste more time? Isidro knows that El Cumache is somehow responsible for his current condition which means if he is still alive, what about Atilio????????

Oh, no, now Iván wants to kill Iggy via another mine cave in????? Writers running out of ideas.

Best scene: any scene with that scene-stealer Lola. I loved her acting out how she was watching through the window and then how Marcia took her belly off and plopped it down.

Jarifa, I haven't had a chance to see all of today's show, but I will finish a little later. But I agree that María Lola is a real scene stealer.

Mariana sees Camilo with Yadira and says, more or less, 'Camilo is betraying Chachi with Yadira. How quickly men forget their promises.'

I say, so like a woman to misjudge a man so quickly  :-)

I'm afraid our Camilo is not the brightest doctor/husband/other on the planet. Did he ever ask Yadira how it is she now has no scars?
And where is Oropo now that Ididro really needs him?

Marcia was stupid telling Ignacio that she was telling Lucrecia that they should baptize the baby. Between this and Cándida's slip Lucrecia should be thinking hard about things now.

Regarding Isidro--why should he wait for Camilo to get a curandero? Isidro has super powers, why can't he cure himself???

Hola Patio peeps. I'm falling behind on CITAS. ~meh~ Haven't even had time to watch Reinas for a few daze. That's the problem when books on the local library wait list become available. LOL

Too many posts on the Médicos discussion for me to wade through and I see on the main topic page that it is in Ultimas Semanas. Has Univision given any hint as to what will follow it?
 

MARIANA #72/73

Andy, thanks for the laughs: from women “misjudging a man so quickly” to who are you “to judge.“ Unfortunately, Mariana, looked like what she was supposed to be at the casino.

Best scene: Yay! Another shapeshift for Isidro! Nobody to close Atilio’s window . . . Come on, Isidro, give him the pecking he deserves. . . Better yet Isidro returns Atilio’s pain 10X worse and cripples him again and Isidro gets the voodoo doll. El Cumache warnsAtilio he could become a morphine addict!!! Now that Isidro’s protection amulet/ceremony has been successful, Atilio will always be in that pain because the curandero cannot do anything against Isidro’s positive power.

2nd best scene: Lola announcing to everyone that Marcia’s baby isn’t hers and chanting “they gave her the baby” like a defiant child. Now that is the gossip on the hacienda. Lucrecia had her “ mothering” detector working, others are now up and running. Too bad Marcia didn’t have an accident trying to run over Lola.

3rd best scene: Mariana reminding Iggy what “eternal love” really means. Iggy is going to have a lot of explaining to do (if she ever lets him talk) and a long long long road back. Probably will make his prison experience look like a vacation. LOL Mariana is now a woman without a past!

Yuck. El Cumache still has the hots for Yadira. Yeah, nobody is going to recognize him with his straw fedora on his head.

Iggy pulls the “husband” card FINALLY while trying to track down Mariana.

Just have to add that Yadira opens up her hotel room far too quickly without checking each time that it is somebody she wants to see.

I suppose I should have waited to see today’s episode before saying anything about Iggy not helping himself, but, WOW, he had the energy to transform himself and as a bird, he was rid of his pain and flew straight to where sati was...smart bird, it must have the nose and eyes of a hawk :-D

I thought it was really dumb of Lucrecia to tell Marcia that she wondered if the baby was really hers. Did she actually expect Marcia to admit anything?

Loved the scene with Lola too. She was really putting her life on the line, but even then, she managed to grab a bunch of fruit before taking off.

FINALLY Iggy remembered that he needed to annul his marriage to Marcia since he is still married to Mariana.

Ruth is another character I enjoy seeing; she always has such a positive attitude.

Doris, they haven’t announced anything yet about what will replace “Médicos” but I did read that “Vencer el Deasmor” will be coming soon to Univisión so I’m thinking that will replace Médicos. I was hoping that “La Mexicana y el Güero” would replace it but I’ not sure how well it’s doing in ratings since it was moved to an earlier hour (in Mexico). It could be that Univisión might schedule it earlier in the afternoon...maybe after “Cita.” Please note that these are just my guesses.

RgvChick, it seems that “La mexicana y el güero” was not the hit they were expecting. There have also been cases of Covid 19 on set. I fear we are doomed to all drama all the time. :(

Mariana is looking pretty good now, and a lot more animated than she was before all the misadventures. Back then she was something like a Stepford Daughter or Goody Two-Shoes. She looked good as a maid and then in that black dress, which was a real improvement over the first one. Getting feisty becomes her.

Doesn't Cumache ever get tired of being whipped and beaten by Atilio?

I don't know why I think anything in this TN should make sense, but Marcia is really hard to figure. Why all this effort to win what's-his-name, Ignacio, when she doesn't really care that much for him? And she's not doing a good job of playing loving mother, you'd think the baby had cooties. Find another hobby, Marcia.

I'm glad that Isidro got the better of Atilio, who seems to be on a losing streak lately. Couldn't happen to a "nicer" guy.

MARIANA #75/76

Andy, El Cumache is one sick puppy. “Stepford daughter” is exactly what Mariana was like. I so agree nothing makes much sense in this novela. It seems like it should have been shown back in the fifties or sixties and maybe in black and white.

Looks like my episode numbering was off earlier this week.

Best and creepiest scene: IT’S a TIE!
Atilio watching as Iván interrogated Mariana about her life and hearing how she felt about her “father.”
Marcia telling the baby how she would kill it for revenge and then picking up the pillow.

Iggy gets another book of poetry published and he gets to go out and promote it.
Of course, Marcia and Carol would have to find each other and team up.
Hmmmm, Marcia isn’t counting on Cándida having a conscience. . . .
Bad lip liner application on Marcia. As a matter of fact it is bad on Mariana and Isabel, too.
Marcia asked and El Cumache gave up whose baby she had. I wonder if she was sorry to know the truth after all.
Mariana sure gave Iggy a good dress down along with the kiss. There’s hope!!!
No more gold available for those miners courtesy of Iván the only legitimate Lugo-Navarro.
When will Mariana find out that Atilio is a creep and not her father? Come on already!
Did I hear a murder conspiracy being formed between Chachi and Marcia?
I keep hearing Dionne Warwick “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again” as Mariana tries to explain herself to Isabel.
Finally, Iggy announces he is getting his marriage to Marcia annulled. Iggy, Marcia cannot deny you your parental rights!
What a horrible shirt and tie to go with Iggy’s suit!
Oh, no! Oh, yes! ? Mariana finds out up close and personal that Iggy named a book of poetry after HER!

I wondered a bit at first what was up with Lucrecia and Isabel, sitting at the table with a full bottle of tequila and yakking away. A little later the bottle was only half full and those two were buddies and plotting away. Fun and funny.
Too bad they didn't follow through, hatch some plan, whatever.

Unlike Cándida to leave the baby alone.

Has anybody been keeping count of all the "coincidences" in this telenovela? Certainly it happens a lot in any TN, but this is ridiculous. Mariana just happens to be in a bookstore while Ignacio is there to promote his thick book of poetry, Mariana de la Noche.
Nice title.

This is his second book? When did the first one come out?
