Please remember that ANY daytime novela can be
discussed and everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Friendly
reminder to PLEASE put the name of the telenovela you're
referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the
conversations they're looking for. (You can shorten the title to one word,
i.e., “Mariana”)

Lots going on but nothing much happening, just a lot of buzzing like bees in a hive.
Okay, Lucrecia still hasn’t told Iggy that Atilio is his father because it would do no good/wouldn't really matter. She tells Iggy all about Elisa and Atilio. Lucrecia needs a brain transplant along with Mariana who is upset that her divorce is final and blaming it all on Iggy’s quest for revenge. She also isn’t happy that he plans to file charges against Atilio to honor the Lugo-Navarro name.
Atilio has tried to clean up his appearance and has shaved off his facial hair is a bid to try to look younger. He wants to be “friends” with Mariana and tells her all about Elisa and how what he did he did out of love. Mariana seems to understand that love makes you do crazy things. That was enough to make me sick.
Iván is full steam ahead with his plan for revenge on Iggy because HE is the only real Lugo-Navarro and will get what is his due. He knows all about Mariana and Atilio. It turns out that Atilio BOUGHT Elisa from her parents. She was madly in love with his brother José Ignacio. She told Atilio on their wedding night that she was pregnant with José’s Ignacio’s kid . He went crazy and the massacre of the Lugo-Navarro’s ensued.
Marcia promises the baby that he might have escaped her plan to kill him once, but he won’t twice.
Camilo pays for his stupidity one more time as Chachi physically attacks him In his hospital bed when she finds out he is still going through with the divorce and heading to the jungle. The nurses have to drag her off of him and out.
At the very end, Mariana runs into a woman on the street who addresses her as “Elisa” and it turns out that she was there when her baby was born. Mariana demands to know what happened to her son. Then the theme song started to play. I say it is time for a court order and a DNA test.
Jarifa: My thoughts on today's episode:
1.) Lucrecia is an IDIOT for not telling Iggy the truth. She needs to grow a damn backbone.
2.) Praying very hard for that baby, who is going to need Dr. Phil therapy for years as he gets older because everytime I see Psycho Marcia abusing that baby, I cringe & want to put my hands around her damn neck.
3.) Mariana needs a restraining order, change her hairstyle & get out of Mexico ASAP.
Does she know that Creepy Atilio whacked her mother & her biological family in that Assad-esque massacre many years ago ?
4.) Camilo, Camilo, Camilo. You need to grow a backbone too buddy: get a restraining order against Crazy Whacky Chachi.
5.) Atilio shaving his beard to look younger & "be close" to Mariana: NO THANKS.
Poor Chachi is losing it completely, Yadira is crying, and Camilo is suffering. Fun.
Atilio does look quite different now, and younger. But that Mariana is accepting all this, starting with the fact that Atilio just rolled in on her in a cloud of smoke (and he's smoking a pipe now), is just too much for me to believe. It's all crazy, he's no longer her father, he's Atilio, and he slaughtered an entire family and more; but he did it for love, so it's OK.
I didn't follow everything that was said, did he tell her the entire story?? And does she think it's OK because he did it for love? Just "Una locura" because of love?
I just can't get past this.
Jarifa, "At the very end, Mariana runs into a woman on the street who addresses her as “Elisa” and it turns out that she was there when her baby was born. Mariana demands to know what happened to her son. Then the theme song started to play. I say it is time for a court order and a DNA test."
Mariana (well, most everybody in this TN) is so dense that if the heavens opened and God appeared to Mariana as a burning bush and told her that Marcia's baby was really hers I'm not sure she would believe it.
Andy
Yes, this is classic Salvador Mejía and Liliana Abud! LOL
I pop in here from time to time just to see how everyone is doing, and if there will be any new daytime telenovelas soon.
Stay sanitized, healthy, and safe.
Andy, I could quote your entire last paragraph. As for it being the ENTIRE story that Atilio told Mariana, I confess that I was in and out doing other things while I was watching. Oh, oh, now you know the truth . . .
Jarifa: If I were you, I better start praying for the Padre who might be on Marcia's Hit-List soon.
RUNNING COMMENTARY
Are those dark roots I am spying on the top of Mariana’s head?
News to Mariana from woman in street: her baby died/she lived with her husband and his sidekick/ they disappeared.
Iggy’s lost all his legal proof against Atilio in the fire at the police station courtesy of Atilio. Iggy tells police chief and later the miners that ATILIO LIVES! The miners now farmers want to help him fight for justice.
Marcia and Atilio decide to team up and get rid of anyone in their way but only HE will be in charge of all of the $$$ no matter what belongs to who. She isn’t happy but says nothing.
El Cumache is sporting yet 2 more satin shirts a brown one and a blue. Fire sale?
Mariana tells Lucrecia and later Atilio what the woman said about her baby dying and having had a husband.
Lucrecia tries to get Mariana’s creepometer working in relationship to Atilio but Mariana refuses to even turn it on.
Marcia continues playing both sides with Iván and Atilio. Iván tells her that they can control Atilio through his morphine needs.
Atilio tells Mariana to fight for Iggy’s love. He only wants her to be happy and to be her protector. . .
Chachi is in her own world out of this world.
Yadira and cowardly Camilo say goodbye to each other.
Iván has decided the first re-acquisition will be the hotel before everything else that belonged to his family. Carol needs to continue being his spy.
Iggy tells Mariana in front of Atilio is that he has never loved her as a father but as a MAN. That is how she never ended up with a suitor. Mariana is shocked! Who to believe since Atilio told her to fight for Iggy’s love? Mariana is upset that Iggy won’t believe that Atilio has changed. Iggy accuses Atilio of playing the victim. He tells Camilo he is done with Mariana.
Baptism on the schedule at the hacienda. Best part: Lola playing with balloons.
El Cumache goes to put Atilio’s will in the hacienda safe. He notices Marcia has cleared out the valuables and that Atilio has left everything to Mariana LUGO-NAVARRO. Hmmmmm . . .
Mariana wants Atilio to tell her who her father is.
Atilio’s dr. says his case is very interesting.
Atilio finds out that one of his guys is a double agent! He tells Iván he better not betray him. Iván is ready for action!
Marcia confesses to killing Candida as a warning knowing the priest cannot betray the confessional.
Camilo agrees to be the godfather.
Iván Lugo-Navarro shows Iggy proof of who he is. Iggy is not a Lugo-Navarro and Iván wants everything that is his back.
Mariana shows up at baptism. Marcia tries to throw her out. Atilio tells Marcia she can go if she doesn’t like it. Still HIS house. Everyone surprised to see he is back! Party time! Atilio tells her she can always go with Iggy to the Lugo-Navarro hacienda.
Yadira wants to quit. Carol reminds her she signed a contract. She can fulfill it or go to jail. The old guy tells Yadira he has dibs on her. Next time he will kill Camila.
Iggy tells Lucrecia the latest news.
Atilio sees Iván and tells him he wasn’t invited.
Someone should have told that metiche Lucrecia that the way to hell is paved with good intentions.
Jarifa, I marvel at your running commentaries. It’s getting so difficult to watch this much less write about it. Thanks for soldiering on and keeping the patio going.
I’ve been a bit under the weather, so my energy level is low...and so is my patience with this show...especially Mariana!! If she had any brain cells she could figure out who it was that the maid was talking about—called her “Elisa”, mysterious man with a sidekick. Hello-o! Anyone in there?! And the way she looks at Ati and thinks he is the ONLY one who loves her BARFFF!!!
The priest is lucky that he is silenced by his vow of confessional, or else he would be silenced by Marcia.
Lucrecia is so pathetic now! I do NOT look forward to her little bouts of regret and excuses.
I honestly do not know why I am still watching, but I tune in anyway. Glutton for punishment? Definitely!
I haven't had a chance to watch much of this yet today, but right from the very start, the quick recap they do, there is silly nonsense.
Jarifa, thanks for your running commentary, it helps me brace myself for the nonsense to come.
:-)
Andy
RgvChick and Andy, it is sort of fun in these bizarro times to sit here with my morning coffee and my tablet in hand and just comment as I watch. Sure hope some better novelas are on soon. Until then, it is “Mariana” full of “silly nonsense.” I wish someone would knock on her head and ask if any one is at home.
RGV Chick: I do NOT see the Padre being among the living. Marcia is hell-bent on exterminating anyone who gets in her way.
Andy: Body Count will increase fast.
Jarifa: JP & Yadhira look like a good couple in the end (assuming both don't get whacked by the bloodthirsty Montenegro's).
Happy Halloween!
And there is a full moon tonight, a Blue Moon at that. So if you hear what sounds like wolf howls, beware, Halloween with a full moon, it could be werewolves.
:-)
Andy
Andy, as long as it's not that moon they keep showing us on Mariana, I'll be happy with any type of full moon. And yeah, I heard it would be a Blue Moon...awesome!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
A new Turkish TN started last week on UniMás at 7pm ET - Pajaro soñador. It is a light romantic comedy. Sanem is a young woman living with her parents and her sister. The parents want her to get a job or else they threatened to marry her to a neighbor. Getting a job sounds like a better option to Sanem, so she asks her sister to get her a job at the advertising company where she works. There Sanem meets Can (pronounced Jan) a son of the company owner Aziz. Sanem gets herself into a number of embarrassing situations in the office. She also gets kissed by Can, who thought she was his girlfriend, in a dark room. The kiss leaves an impression on Sanem and she later tries to identify the man who kissed her by compiling the list of the men in the office with a beard.
Can is a free spirit, likes to travel and take pictures. Aziz has health issues and needs to travel for treatment, so he asks Can to step in to lead the company, but Can is afraid to hurt the feelings of his brother Emre, who has worked at the company for a long time. Emre has a relationship with the former company employee and now head of the competition - Aylin. In between trysts, Emre is passing trade secrets to Aylin. Emre plans to use Sanem to keep leaking trade secrets. He does her a favor by giving her the money she needs to pay her father's debts and demands to repay the favor by doing some spy work for him. The first assignment for Sanem is to retrieve an important folder from Can's desk, and later from Can's home. This involves Sanem climbing the fence, searching through Can's home, seeing him in the shower naked, getting caught and lying her way out of it, sinking even deeper.
Fun, light entertainment.
Pájaro
Lucio, so nice to “see” you! And thank you for the introduction to Pájaro Soñador. I was curious about it and it does seem like some fun entertainment. Problem is I’m already watching too many TNs :-(. Your intro recap is much appreciated and if you can keep us posted on what’s going on, at least i would have that to savor.
I can almost see Sanem making that list of men...and sneaking into Can’s house. Too funny!
