Caray, Caray!

This is a good episode, if you haven't watched it yet, give it a try, it's worth it! I’ll try to do it justice, but I'm not sure that I can. 

Scenes have been combined, there was so much head hopping it was the only way I could write this in an intelligible way.

Elisa sees red when she realizes that her nemesis, Dario, is at the gallery. She goes to him, he threatens her a bit, their usual banter. Leo and Fab join them (as Ewwgenio looks on), Leo would like to know who the new guy is. Elisa looks scared, not enough time to come out with a believable lie. Fab to the rescue, he introduces Dario Ramirez, the new investor he's been talking about while we didn't pay any attention to anything other than his poodle hair.

Fab takes Elisa and Dario away, to talk negocios. Leo stays behind, just in time for Victoria to come to him, point out that his meager cop brain has no business being here, where fine art is being discussed. Leo tries to speak up, saying that his presence is Elisa’s decision, but Vic gets reinforcement from Eww (right after he tells Fer to go stay with Majo). They both agree that Leo and Sonia are two good for nothing nobodies, no wonder they knew one another. To his credit, Leo tries to stay cordial, I would have slapped some cuffs on both these idiots for bullying or something.

Fab, Dario and Elisa talk business. Fab looks so oblivious in this scene, it’s worth every penny just to watch him. There is talk about Elisa’s expert authentication techniques (ahem), Dario expresses “concern” about the black market dealings that he knows to happen in the art world, he even manages to squeeze in his sympathy over Augusto’s death. He’s doing a terrific job of scaring Elisa out of her mind, she seems on the verge of a heart attack.

They eventually conclude the chat, Dario needs to go attend some other important business. They decide to meet up the next day to talk the details of their partnership. Fab is very impressed with his choice of partner, Elisa gives him the stick eye.

And she’s not the only one who’s not happy. Ewwgenio blasts Fab for bringing some stranger into the (NOT HIS) family business. That’s why he bought 30% of the stock and that’s why he was offering it to him. Did he at the very least investigate this guy before deciding to become partners? How much money do they still need, he will give them everything they want. Fab is hurt in his little boy feelings, his dad never gave him credit for anything. He sent him away after he broke up with mom (more details, please!), never agreed to his relationship with Fer (I actually agree with Eww on this one) – but Fab IS a good business man, damnit, and he needs to be allowed to prove it! (Well, Fab, if you need permission, than you’re not that good to begin with)

Majo has seen Dario, too, and she is FREAKING OUT! Fer is with her, trying to control her reactions. Majo is certain something bad is about to happen, she feels locked up all over again and it’s all Elisa’s fault. Fer does a good job of looking confused, while Majo downs several glasses of whiskey.

Elisa is not looking that great, either, but as usual, she won’t tell Leo why she’s so rattled. He says he needs to go, congratulates her for a spectacular opening. He does notice that something is wrong, but she blames it on all of their family drama. Leo suspects that it might be something more, but at the same time wants to go, give her space to tend to her business. Elisa wants him by her side, everything she’s doing is for the two of them, nobody can interfere between them. Her serious distress is becoming too obvious even for innocent Leo,who pleads with her to share what is the cause of such torment. Elisa looks like she's about to crack...
But before that...

Another Cantu! I hope it’s not a girl

Yesterday we left Renata at the hospital, she'd just found out that she was pregnant. 

She can’t believe it until she sees the ultrasound. She’s so happy, she asks the doctor to be the godfather and she goes on in her usual nutty way. As soon as he turns away, she leaves the hospital in her gown, running like a mad woman. She gets into a taxi, she tells the driver she’s pregnant and start explaining her whole life to the poor guy. She has to get out of the car when it can’t move any further because of a roadblock. The driver even lets her go without paying when he sees how disturbed she is.

Renata shows up at the gallery just as Elisa is about to tell Leo about Dario! (Of course, now you want to confess).

Renata shouts that she’s pregnant, Victoria and Eww hear her, too. Renata wants to go home with Leo, but Vic insists that Ewwgenio take them home. To her credit Elisa defends Leo in front of Victoria's badmouthing. Left alone, she tells Leo this pregnancy scares her. Fer shows up asking for Elisa, who wants Leo to join her back inside. Leo prefers to go, Fer snaps at Elisa, reminding her that people have come for HER. Elisa finally goes to do her damn job after saying a long, filled with “I love you’s” farewell to her boyfriend that doesn’t have any real reason to go.

At the mansion, Renata is very happy to become a mom and to make Victoria an abuela. But she refuses to take any more pills that could hurt the bebe and wants to see Marcelo. Vic is very confrontational, but Ew thinks they should go along for now, until Renata calms down (and I agree with him again, I might have lost my damn mind with this show).

When her psychiatrist arrives Victoria wants him to see Renata. Eww disagrees, but Victoria ignores him and asks the doc to go ahead and examine her daughter.

Ah, to see Eww’s face when Vic dares to contradict him. He is livid, he can barely abstain in front of the doctor. As soon as they are alone Victoria realizes that he’s upset and casually apologizes, but Eww wants to leave. Before he goes he issues a warning: “Don’t you ever contradict me again in front of somebody else!”

He’s chillingly menacing, and Victoria looks legitimately scared. As she should be. The scene is great, the acting top notch, will Victoria have enough brains to get out while she still can? Can she still get out?

Later on the doc confirms to Victoria that Renata is 6 weeks pregnant. He has talked to the doctor who saw her at the hospital, too, he has the results of all her blood work. The doc says that this will only complicate matters, but is he only talking about normal complications in mentally challenged patients, or is it more? The wording is ambiguous and I think this is done on purpose. Vic has been drugging her daughter her whole life, could it be so that she doesn’t get a clear head and remember stuff that has happened when she was a child? When Renata was mentioning all the things she hears and sees to Leo, he wasn’t taking her too seriously, but as always, the crazy and the kids tell the truth, right?

Back at the gallery, Majo asks Fab why he invited that guy, he’s dangerous! Fab can’t understand why everybody hates Dario so much, Majo loses it, almost makes a scene. Fer shows up in time to take her outside and to hear Majo’s confession that Dario is the guy who kidnapped her and is tormenting their entire family.  

Feeble Minded Fab thinks the event was great! Elisa tells him Dario will never be part of the company.  She then goes in search of Majo, who is outside with Fernanda, giddy and drunk. Elisa can’t deal with this right now, she asks Fer to take Majo home. Majo is a mean drunk, she throws away her half empty glass and stumbles out of the event.

Ewwgenio goes to see Dario. He’s furious because his son has a mind of his own, how dare he be so estupido!! Dario threatens to tell Fab the whole truth (would Feeble Fab be able to UNDERSTAND the whole truth?). He only became an investor to scare Elisa, keep her in line. He couldn’t care less about Fab or getting close to daddy (I have to wonder, some sibling rivalry has to be involved and will eventually come to light). Eww reminds him that Marcelo is still alive. He doesn’t care that the guy is well protected, Dario needs to find a way to eliminate him. Or else his momma will have to suffer the consequences.

She's alive. ALIVEEE!

Eww doesn’t know it yet, but he has bigger problems than Marcelo. The coast guard finds Sonia and she is ALIVE. She is severely dehydrated and on the verge of death, they have to resuscitate her several times, but they eventually manage to stabilize her. They suspect it could be attentive homicide, better call the cops now (but please, not El Comandante nefasto).  

Sonia is taken to a Red Cross hospital, the doctors decide to monitor her closely until she wakes up. Which she is about to, and what does she mumble in her semi-comatose state, but the name of Leonardo Velasco, policia!

What is going on with Adriana and Jose Luis?

Mario shows up at Adriana's house uninvited again and  confronts her about lying when she said she'll take a taxi to work.He saw her with the boss, is she ratting them out to JL, telling him about all their secret investigating with Leo? Huh, is THAT what you think they’re doing, Mario? What’s another synonym for clueless? Ask Feeble Fab maybe?

(And may I just say that if JL and Adriana are involved, this means that Teresa has been right all along and hubby truly is unfaithful.)

Clara is upset because Nieves is putting their lives in danger; she thinks they should tell Leo and dad the truth. Nieves is against the idea (shocker!), if Leo finds out, they’re both dead, if Justino knows the truth, he will be the one to die. Clara needs to go on working for Dario until she gets the money for the operation.

Dario manages to evade the cop car who is watching Piedad’s house (they’re on their phones, probably on Instagram or TickTock). He visits with his mom, who talks to him about Majo. The girl loves him, but she’s also very scared of him. Why can’t he change for her?

Dario is afraid, he’s not used to people treating him well (what about your MOTHER??), he’d like to be different, but he can’t. He’s become worse than his father and he has to finish what he’s started, he has to get rid of all of them! (start with Eww)

Eww is waiting for Fer. They get into a fight about not being able to keep their underlings in check. Fer promises to keep an eye on Fab and control him better, but Eww needs to handle Dario. She’s scared because of what happened to Sonia, she only agreed to be Augusto’s lover, but nobody ever mentioned murder. Eww promises to protect her (Is he sincere? I hardly doubt it). Fer has a piece of interesting information: Dario and Majo are sleeping together. Eww looks disgusted, he's probably having a hard time imagining his secret son involved with the daughter of his secret crush. If these couples became official, could you imagine those Thanksgiving dinners?

 All you need is love

After leaving the gallery, Leo goes for a drive, he stops his car on a hill that offers a nice view of the city. He thinks about Victoria’s words that he doesn’t belong in Elisa’s artsy fartsy world, but he also remembers Elisa’s “I love you’s” and promises to always be together. The luvv angel wins over the hate angel (for now). When Elisa calls him, he offers to meet up, go someplace just the two of them. Fab almost interrupts the call, but Elisa shushes him with her finger (loved it!) and tells Leo that she wants to sleep in his arms tonight. Ay, ay, ay, Leo, is Adriana’s house available? His momma’s apartment built? A shed somewhere?

When they finally meet, it's like they haven't seen one another in ages. Elisa has had the worst day of her life! (Huh? What about when Augusto died? Or when Majo was taken? Or when she was repeatedly kidnapped herself and threatened at gun point?) But she’s no longer scared, since they are now together.

Leo takes her to a very nice looking place, fireplace included (airbnb? Mario's place? the Cantu pool house? Marcelo let them borrow his love nest?). We get to finally see the two make sweet luvv to one another. I kind of knew it was coming, since Elisa is wearing the same lacy top from the sexy scene in the credits. The rest of her clothes are lace, too and we do see a bit of skin, but not too much. Ahem… Halfway ripped Leo (we don’t actually see much of him, either, only his shoulders, but his back muscles could use a few hours of gym – call Sonia!) takes her to bed and… cue the Carlos Rivera music.
