TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#1): Todo por Mi Hija, Falsa Identidad 2 y más: Week of October 5, 2020
Here are the current evening telenovelas (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):
- 9-10PM - Todo por Mi Hija**
- 10-11PM - Falsa Identidad 2**
** My DirecTV guide shows the Vice Presidential Debate on Wednesday, October 7 at 6PM Pacific time, and presumably 9PM Eastern time, on English language channels. Telemundo shows regular programming; that is, no telenovelas being pre-empted for this debate, but who knows?
Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the conversation they're looking for.
By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes references to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!
Labels: hija, identidad2, telemundo
novelera, According to Zap2It, Telemundo will show neither telenovela this Wednesday. Instead, Exatlón will run from 8-10PM and some game show entitled Minuto para ganar will run from 10-11PM. However, as you say, Telemundo's website claims that both novelas will be shown as usual! So once again, these two sources of program information are failing to agree. Sigh.
Juanita, that is very odd because I checked zap2it earlier and it showed the debate airing on Wednesday starting at 8:00pm (C).
Asu nervously approaches her father’s bedside and takes a seat. He asks her, did you ever picture how I would look? Asu was never able to picture him. Weren’t you curious about me? She doesn’t answer and says, so I hear you are rich. Will you leave me your fortune? Why would you?
He tells Asu he’s dying, and he doesn’t have much time. He intends to leave her all his assets even though it won’t be enough to earn her forgiveness. She interrupts him—how much are we talking? 260 million. Now he has her attention. He has sold everything and it’s all in the bank waiting. You can visit the lawyer in the morning. But there is one condition.
Demir tells Ugur, we were set up. What, who? The lightbulb goes off for Ugur. Korkmaz? Demir adds, not just Korkmaz but Cemal, too. Ugur wants to know what’s going on. Demir starts, remember the stop we made? We flash to the store and Demir speaks with the clerk. He gives the clerk the book and says to him, remember the deal we made? Ugur asks how did you know this was going to happen?
Flash to when Cemal and Demir met at Candan’s clinic. Cemal went for his business card and Demir noticed a folder in his bag. When Korkmaz gave them the folder later, Demir made the connection. Ugur can’t believe they came so close to getting busted. He proclaims Demir a genius even though he was kicked out of high school for being dumb. Now the student has become the master! Demir tells Ugur, enough. Besides, now we have the book and we’ll sell it.
Asu asks her dad, what do you want? He wants her to look after her daughter and when she turns 18, transfer the money to her. Asu denies she has a daughter. Well, he knows she has one and that she’s not with Asu. He says, I only ask that you look after her. Don’t make my mistake or else you will deal with the guilt the rest of your life. That’s why you should do this. Asu is angry. Take your money and you know where you can put it. I hope you die as soon as you can.
Asu runs out of the room. She racewalks away from Cemal saying, get lost! Outside she lets him have it. You knew the condition. You planned it all. You only care about destroying Demir. She takes off. Cemal calls after her, wait, Asu, wait!
The guys pay a visit to Korkmaz. Demir declares the game is over, we know you set us up. Korkmaz denies everything. Demir says stay away from us and threatens to call the cops on him if he doesn’t. Oh, and by the way, we’re keeping the book as payment. Don’t mess with us or else, and they turn walk out.
Ugur is so impressed by Demir. But that’s not all. Demir calls Cemal. Demir says, sorry we couldn’t make the delivery. The buyer backed out. What? You know what I mean, Demir says, I’m sure you were waiting for the update. Your plan was ruined and stay away from Candan!
Ugur is heaping praise upon Demir. He goes on and on (in typical Ugur fashion) about how Demir humiliated them all. He wants to kiss Demir’s hand as a sign of respect. Demir asks Ugur to sell the book while he takes Oyku to school in the morning. (I was a little worried at that thought) Now they have money for Ugur’s mom. Ugur yells as they walk down the street, you’re my hero!
Oyku is asleep at Mufide’s. Demir goes to her and kisses her, Oyku puts her hand on his face. How sweet. Ugur calls a cab for Demir and Oyku because they can afford it now.
dondi356
Next morning Demir buys simit, cheese, chocolate and juice for Oyku on the way to school. Oyku asks for an extra juice for Mercan because always buys for her. Demir springs for it and tells the vendor to keep the change. He tells Oyku from now on you will eat better. She jokes about his cooking skills. Then Oyku asks, can we visit Candan? I miss her. We’ll see, Demir answers.
Demir gets a call from Ugur. Mission completed! Come to the café and I’ll treat you to tea and toast.
Ilayda goes over to Oyku and announces, girls, don’t sit next to Oyku. She will use your paints during art class. Oyku silently takes out her new paints. Another classmate remarks, look at those watercolors. They’re even better than yours, Ilayda. (You just got burned, Ilayda, take a seat) Mercan comes to sit next to Oyku and he admires her paints. She tells him, my dad bought them for me, in a loud voice looking at Ilayda. And look Mercan, we have chocolate, juice and simit. We can eat at recess. Oyku looks back at an unhappy Ilayda.
Ugur is ordering a big breakfast. He gives Demir an envelope with money. Ugur sold the book to an art expert they know. He lost his mind when he saw the book. It’s very valuable. Ugur says he’s so happy they got his mother’s money back. Demir says now we have to find a house. Ugur suggests looking for one in his neighborhood. He knows someone who’s renting. It’s close and his mom can watch Oyku.
Candan is taking care of a street cat for someone who wants to adopt it. No charge, she helps strays for free. Aylin stops by and she asks Candan if she has made her decision. Candan will take the job. Aylin is excited but Candan doesn’t look excited at all.
Ugur and Demir are looking at the house. It’s in good shape. Oyku’s room will be perfect. Demir will have to buy furniture. The kitchen is nice, too. The landlord says the stove and the fridge are staying. And her daughter in law is redecorating so she will bring the furniture she won’t keep.
Cemal is at Asu’s door when she arrives home. They go in. He tells her, listen Asu, I swear I didn’t know about your dad’s intentions. She wants no part of the money. She tells Cemal she’s sick of Istanbul and sick of him. He says you can’t leave. Asu asks, why not? Leave me alone. I’ve hurt you, why don’t you hate me?
Asu has a series of flashbacks. First to Demir throwing her out. Then to Cemal telling her about one last job he will pull with Demir and Ugur. A jewelry store in Tarabia. They will have enough money to last a lifetime and they will leave together for good. He looks in her eyes and says, you have no idea how much I love you. Finally, we see Asu calling the police to report a robbery tonight at the jewelry store in Tarabia.
Back to the present and Cemal says, I can’t leave and neither can you. That money belongs to you. No, that money will go to Oyku. Cemal says, we’ll find a lawyer. You will get the money. If you don’t, I’ll pay for your ticket and you can go.
Demir is moving in and Ugur is helping. Demir will start to put together the furniture while Ugur picks up Oyku from school. He reminds Ugur this is a surprise so don’t say anything. Ugur says he’s not an idiot.
Demir gets a call from Candan. She asks if he’s at the hostel. No, we found a house. He’s getting furniture ready to surprise Oyku. She asks for the address. She’d like to come see it. He asks if she’s ok, she sounds upset. He will send the address. See you soon.
Ugur gets Oyku. She asks where’s dad. Ugur (the idiot) almost gives it away saying Demir is working on a surprise. What? Uh, it’s something for my mother. He will take Oyku out to eat. She can have anything she wants but she wants pizza. There’s a place near the school.
dondi356
Demir is busy with the furniture when Candan arrives. She asks for Oyku. She’s not here; Ugur is picking her up. Ah, says Candan, the friend I can never meet. He shows her Oyku’s room. She looks around and says it’s pretty. Oyku will love it. Demir notices her mood and asks what’s wrong. Demir, I need to tell you something.
Candan drops the bomb. I’m going abroad. I got a very good job offer. I can’t miss out. I wanted to tell you before I left. Demir is shocked. He says Oyku will be sad. Demir looks sad, too. He’d like her to think it over; he doesn’t want her to go. She only came to say goodbye. Please tell Oyku I love her very much. Tell her yourself, he says, she will be here soon. She has to leave; she has a lot to do. Demir tries to stop her. She tells Demir he’s a great father and then leaves. She stands in front of the house for a little bit before walking away.
Oyku and Ugur are eating pizza. She thanks him. In walks Sevgi and Oyku spots her. She looks happy to see Oyku but not so happy to see Ugur. Sevgi is there to meet a friend. Ugur asks, why don’t you sit with us? She doesn’t want to be a bother. Please, says Oyku. Sevgi gives in, well I guess I can sit until my friend comes. Ugur asks if she would like to order something. No thanks, she will wait for her friend.
Ugur brings up the run-in incident but Sevgi says it’s in the past. Ugur is relieved and says, we should talk about something else. Sevgi asks, like what? Oyku asks, what things? He stutters a bit, then reaches for something and spills a lemonade on her. He wants to help. No thanks, she’s going to the rest room to clean up. Oyku asks Ugur why he is so clumsy. They are both embarrassed. Ugur quickly pays and they leave. (Trope alert: will Sevgi and Ugur fall for each other?)
Demir is still working on the furniture when Ugur calls. They are almost there. Oyku thinks they are going to Mufide’s. We are not going to my house, Ugur says. They make a turn down another street. Cemal is in stalker mode again, watching them from his car. Ah, there’s dad. Why are we here, asks Oyku? Demir tells her, I’m getting your room ready. Ugur tells Oyku, your dad rented a house. Really? They go inside. Cemal is still watching.
Oyku is speechless, walking through the house. Do you like it? Yes, it’s beautiful. You haven’t seen your room yet. She moves through her room inspecting everything. She goes to hug Demir and she’s crying tears of happiness. Thank you, dad! Demir is a little teary, too. He hugs Oyku tightly and says, you will grow up here sweetie. (My heart can’t take it) Demir and Ugur start arguing about the furniture while Oyku walks through the rest of the house. There’s a knock at the door. Oyku opens it. It’s Asu! Oyku stares at her.
And we are out.

Telemundo never misses a chance to be confusing, let me try to shed some light on this.
Telemundo broadcasts it's line-up Twice a day, once on east coast time (and simultaneously on central and mountain time), and a second time on Pacific time, so a 9 pm show on east coast is a 9 pm show on the west coast.
when a live show interrupts their prime time on either broadcast they make adjustments to the other.
(btw, the VP debate is in Utah, reason for the odd time)
so east coast, Exatlón rolls but no novelas, west coast, Exatlón and fillers.
I seem to remember a time when they showed a novela at one zone but not the other (Chile coal minors ?? ) there was much unrest.
Muchas gracias, dondi356, for another wonderful recap.
Wow, Asu was really pretty nasty to her father. ("How much are we talking about? I want to know whether it's worth my time to stay and talk to you." --not an exact quote, but pretty close, IIRC) If he really wants Oyku to have it, perhaps he'll find a way to make that happen without involving Asu.
I was surprised that Demir entrusted Ugur with selling the book. Given what a dolt Ugur is, as evidenced by his attempt to buy the store, I was expecting that he'd ask for and get much less than the book was worth. Apparently I was wrong.
And how did Cemal manage to get hold of an immensely valuable book in the first place?
This was my night to be mistaken. I was quite sure that Candan would see Ugur arrive with Oyku and remember Ugur as the person who tried to steal the painting from her house. I was amazed when Candan left before Oyku arrived and, even though Candan spent a few moments gazing at the house after leaving it, she never did run into Oyku and Ugur.
dondi356, I never thought of Sevgi and Ugur winding up together. Now that you mention it, I suppose you could well be right, but I hope not. Ugur may have a good heart, but he drives me up a wall, and I think Sevgi has a similar response to him. Even if the telenovela shows her beginning to like him, I like her enough to hope it doesn't happen. Can you imagine having to listen to that idiot babble on and on every day? What troubles me is that the more I think about it, the more I think it could happen. Arrgh.
deb, thanks for trying to bring some clarity to this scheduling craziness. What you describe is what Zap2It shows for Wednesday, but I just took another look at the Telemundo web site, and for Wednesday it's still showing Todo por mi hija at 9 and Falsa Identidad 2 at 10.
Thank you so much, dondi, I hung on every word!
So Asu's father already knew about Oyku. His condition was so much better than I could have imagined. It doesn't surprise me at all that Asu was so cold and upfront about why she was there. And, wow, she was the one that turned in the guys way back then. Will Cemal still want her if and when he finds out?
Demir continues to impress me; he not only figured out that Korkster was setting up but tha Cemal was behind it?? Good thinking, Demir! But ITA that he took a HUGE risk in trusting Ugur with the sale of the book.
It also surprised me that Candan actually went to face Demir to tell him she was leaving, but can understand why she refused to see Oyku; she would have caved and changed her mind.
How I wish I could have seen the scenes where Oyku saw the house and hugged Demir. The little girl is such a wonderful actress...and who doesn't melt when they see a father and child together during such precious moments :-)
Sevgi and Ugur?? Hmmmm...ay pobrecita. if they do end up together, she'll need a lifetime subscription for ear plugs.
Thanks, Juanita and Rgv Chick!
Not surprised by Asu’s behavior with her bio dad. He never was a “father” to her. Not sure at this point if he ever tried to find her before this. In a flashback, Asu’s mom said the father didn’t love them/want them.
Juanita, I wondered about the book, too. How did Cemal & Korkmaz acquire it? I doubt it was through legal means. Ugur thinks Demir is a hero but they likely sold stolen goods. So Demir broke his promise to Oyku not to do anything bad.
Can I assume we are all still disappointed in Candan?
Rgv Chick, Demir is smart but he was also lucky he caught a glimpse of the folder in Cemal’s bag. That confirmed Cemal was in cahoots with Korkmaz.
Asu ratting out the guys was a big surprise to me. Did not see that coming. What was her motivation? Did she want all 3 guys to go to jail? Hoping this is explained further.
Regarding Sevgi and Ugur, they have had 3 very unfortunate encounters so far. I see a pattern emerging. As cringeworthy as a relationship may seem, true love often springs from a thorny start. Or maybe I’ve just watched too many soaps, novelas and dizis.
dondi356
dondi356, you asked whether we are all still disappointed in Candan. I'm disappointed but not at all surprised that Candan is considering going to Bulgaria. So I guess I should say that I'm disappointed in her decision, but not in her. I think she is VERY emotionally invested in Oyku, both because Oyku is adorable and because of the link Candan feels re her dead sister. It's clear that saying goodbye to Oyku would be VERY painful, and so thus far Candan has avoided doing so. But that doesn't make me disappointed in her. I AM hopeful that she'll recognize how much pain she'd be causing Oyku by not saying goodbye, and so she'll either say goodbye or change her mind and not leave. But my predictions don't have a great record for coming true.
Oyku and Asu continue to stare at each other. Finally, Oyku asks who she's looking for. Asu doesn't reply. Eventually, she says, "I'm looking for...." just as Demir spots her and comes to the door. He asks Asu what she's doing there. Asu asks whether they can talk. She has something she wants to tell him. Ugur gets Oyku to come help him continue to put the furniture together. Demir is going to go talk to Asu. Oyku announces "I'm going with you." "No way," replies Demir. Oyku then asks who the woman is, and Demir tells her it's none of her business. (!!)
Demir and Asu walk just a few feet from the house. She tells him that she was caught by surprise when he saw her the other day, so she didn't greet him. Demir isn't interested. "How did you find me?" he asks. Asu replies that Cemal told her the address. Demir is upset that Cemal knows. Demir then turns to Asu and says, "You don't care about anyone, so why are you here?"
Oyku is supposedly helping Ugur, but she's really looking out the window at Demir and Asu. Ugur asks, "Do you want to know who that woman is? She used to be a friend of your father, but he doesn't like her. He's annoyed because she showed up."
Meanwhile, Demir asks Asu, "Is Cemal using you, too?" Asu claims she just wanted to know how Demir is. Demir isn't buying that. "Cemal sent you for a reason." Asu claims Demir hasn't changed, but Demir tells her she's wrong. "I've changed a lot. I'm not the man you knew. Leave me in peace!" Asu leaves, saying "Oyku is very sweet. Take good care of her."
It turns out that Cemal is waiting nearby for Asu. He wants to know whether she told Oyku who she was. Asu first says yes, she told her, and she goes on sarcastically describing the loving reception she received. She then stops the sarcasm and says, "No, I didn't tell her. I didn't know what to say." Cemal tells her to get into the car. "I'd rather walk," she replies. He orders her into the car, and she obeys. As they're driving, Asu tells him, "I'm tired of you being jealous of Demir." Cemal tells her he'll find a lawyer who will help them get the money. Asu doesn't seem very enthusiastic about Cemal's plans. He suddenly pulls the car over. He tells her, "You're staying with me. Otherwise, get out!" [I was hoping she would, but....]
Demir tells Oyku she's eating too much, she's too heavy. He pats her belly and and asks, "What's this?" When they get to Mufide's for dinner, Demir again mentions how much Oyku is eating. Mufide points out that Oyku has to eat in order to grow. Ugur imagines her as a lovely young woman who will get married. Mufide sighs, saying "I wish I could live to see that. I could make her a beautiful wedding dress." Mufide also suggests that Oyku use Demir and Ugur as role models of hard working people.
After dinner, Ugur and Demir go off to talk, and Oyku helps Mufide clear the table. She carries two large plates and a water pitcher into the kitchen. [I confess that I feared she'd have another Niemann-Pick moment and drop everything, but she didn't.]
Ugur wants to know what Asu wanted. Demir tells him she just came to say hi. "How did she know the address?" Ugur asks. Demir explains that Cemal apparently knew it and gave it to her. "I don't know what's going on," says a downcast Demir. "I just want them to leave us alone." Ugur asks, "Do you still have feelings for Asu? Don't lie." At that point, there's a knock on the door of the room, and Oyku enters, bring coffee she has made for Demir and Ugur. They drink it, and both claim it's very good, but their faces suggest otherwise.
The scene shifts to Asu, who is writing in her diary. "I got to see her after 8 years. I don't know what to feel. It's weird. It's almost as if I hadn't given birth to her. I don't feel anything for her. She's no different than any other kid." She then remembers when she locked herself in the bathroom to take a pregnancy test that came out positive. Another woman, who looks a bit like Oyku's "aunt" but acts more like her mother, demands that Asu open the door. She wrestles with her to get the pregnancy test result, and then asks her who the father is. Asu doesn't answer. She pushes this memory aside and tears up the diary page she was writing.
That night, lying in bed, Oyku asks Demir whether they can go see Candan the next day. "I miss her a lot," says Oyku. Demir starts to respond, "Oyku..." "Yes?" says Oyku. There follows several minutes of commercials, after which Demir continues, "First of all, Candan is very busy." Demir tells Oyku she needs to go to sleep, she has school the next day. Oyku moves closer to Demir and hugs him. Demir tells her, "I want to hug you, too," and he puts his arm around her.
The next morning, Demir takes Oyku to school. He has her reciting all the rules (e.g., don't talk to strangers) as he tries to fix her hair. He then reminds her about the "vitamins" she has to take after lunch. Oyku again asks, "Can we see Candan after school?" Demir gives a noncommittal response.
Candan is at a cafe with Mu-rat. Apparently, it's to bid him farewell. He asks her whether she has told Demir and Oyku that she's leaving. "I told Demir," she replies. Mu-rat says he thinks she is making a mistake by leaving. "Escape is not the answer." He asks when she's planning to leave. She tells him, "Tonight. It's a 5-hour drive, according to Aylin." She then adds, "If you see Oyku, perhaps in the hospital, please don't tell her that I know."
At school, Sevgi announces that the play the class will put on this year is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. She asks the students who have signed up to participate to come to the front of the classroom. She then announces that Mercan will play the part of the Prince. Ilayda, of course, thinks that she should play the Princess, since she looks like a princess. Oyku says that the Princess doesn't have blonde hair. The teacher says that she will give the script to both girls to study for two days. Then there will be a vote as to who should have the role.
Ugur is concerned that something is troubling Demir. He asks him about it, saying that it's not a woman, it's not money, it's not work. What could it be? An annoyed Demir tells him to stop playing detective. Ugur pleads with him to say what's bothering him. Demir, somewhat choked up, says, "I won't tell you. Because if I tell you, it becomes real. I don't want to think about it." Ugur tells Demir he's scaring him. Demir finally blurts out, "Oyku is very sick. She has an illness with a strange name. It's rare, but she's got it." Ugur asks how Demir knows this, who told him? Demir explains about how the doctor who treated Oyku in the hospital told him. And Oyku knows, too. She thinks that's why her aunt abandoned her. Ugur tries to be optimistic, but Demir informs him that there is no known cure. Not yet. "I love her, and there's nothing I can do to save her."
Mercan sends Oyku a note: "I think you should play the princess because you deserve it." Oyku grins. The teacher comes over and tells Oyku to pay attention.
Ugur is clearly upset at the news about Oyku. "What can we do?" he asks. "Move on," replies Demir. "I'll do what I can to let her have a beautiful life. I want her to be happy." Ugur assures him, "I'll always be here for you." "I know," says Demir. He asks Ugur not to tell anyone, not even Mufide. "It's a secret, OK?"
Mercan tells Oyku, "I don't want to kiss Ilayda even if I'm acting." A student playing one of the dwarfs tells Oyku, "I'm afraid I'll forget my lines." It looks as if she's given Oyku something else to worry about.
Demir tells Ugur that the drugs Oyku needs are really expensive. The money from the book won't last forever. "I need a real job. Not something shady. I promised Oyku I wouldn't do anything dishonest again." Ugur suggests that Demir buy the house he's renting. Then he won't have to pay rent each month. Demir says he doesn't have enough money to do that. "I'll give you my part, " says Ugur. "No," says Demir, "that's Mufide's money." Ugur replies, "We can put the house in Mufide's name. You won't have to pay any rent, and she'll have her money back." Demir thinks about this for a minute and then, delighted, hugs Ugur. "You're my best friend," he tells Ugur. Having a best friend is better than having a million friends." [I'm not sure what Demir and Ugur do after that. Are they shopping for furniture? Or arranging furniture they've already bought? ]
Asu and Cemal are meeting with a lawyer. Asu is impatient. "Can we cut to the chase? When will I get my money?" she asks. The lawyer has been looking at the details, he doesn't want to mislead her. "There are some requirements," he tells her. "The first is that you must be able to prove that you're the mother of the girl." He goes on about various steps and stages. "How long will all this take?" she asks. "Let's say I get custody. I won't be able to use the money." The lawyer says she'd first have to go to probate court (el tribunal testamentario). Asu has had enough. "I'm getting fed up with your stupidities. You're wasting my time." Cemal tries to calm her down. He asks the lawyer whether the only way to get the money is with custody, and the lawyer tells him that's right. Asu gets up and starts to leave. "Where are you going?" asks Cemal. "To Hell," she replies. "Want to come?"
Demir and Ugur are picking up Oyku from school. Now that Demir had told Ugur about Oyku's illness, both Demir and Ugur are rather glum. But Oyku comes, and gives Demir a very enthusiastic set of kisses. She then turns to Ugur and says hello. Seeing that he's down, she comes over to him and kisses him several times as well. She then announces that in one of her classes, the teacher was giving a lesson and asked a question, and she knew the answer. She then asks what Demir was like in school. Ugur tells her that Demir was smart but didn't study much. Demir says she should ask Ugur about his experience in school. Ugur says he doesn't think that would be a good idea.
Oyku then announces that her knees hurt, and she doesn't have the strength to walk. Demir has her climb up on his shoulders (with an assist from Ugur), and he gives her a ride that way. She's thrilled. She's even taller than Ugur and Demir. Demir pretends to be an airplane, and Oyku calls out with delight, "I'm flying." [This is one of the shots that we see in each episode, perhaps in the theme song, I'm not sure.] Demir is doing his best to make Oyku happy, though when she's not looking, it's clear that he's sad and worried. On that very mixed note, the episode ends.
Great recap, Juanita! Thank you!
First, I want to go back to your Tuesday comment about Candan. You had a very good explanation of your disappointment “in her decision, but not in her”. And I suppose that is what we are really feeling—disappointment in her decision. Candan is a very good but very sensitive person. I can’t see her staying away from Oyku for very long.
Does Demir still have no clue that Asu might be Oyku’s mother? I remember he didn’t even want to consider her for the list. I liked that he told Asu, “I've changed a lot. I'm not the man you knew.” I guess this will be the next shocker for Demir and Oyku. This is the worst possible time for Asu to enter the picture, while Candan is keeping her distance.
I believe that was Tia Zeynep with Asu and the pregnancy test.
Mu-rat gave Candan good advice, "Escape is not the answer", even if it was for his own reasons. He doesn’t seem overly interested in her now that he has the house. I still don’t like him.
So glad that Demir has become a devoted father. He wants to do everything he can (legally I hope) to make Oyku happy. The scene with Demir telling Ugur was well done.
Oyku was making dreamy eyes at Mercan when the teacher told her to pay attention. Bratty Ilayda is buying classmates’ votes with candy. Can she get disqualified for cheating? Maybe she will be an awful actress. I hope we get to see the play.
Juanita, the end scene is in the opening credits.
dondi356
I've looked at 3 sites and each one gives a different schedule:
Telemundo has the regular schedule posted 9-10pm
zap2it listing for my area has the debate starting at 8:55-11:00pm and no Hija
Locast (Live TV over the internet) has Exatlon on all evening with the debate at 11pm and Hija playing at 1am
At the end of last night's broadcast, it seemed like they were intending to pre-empt tonight's show but then they went on to say Hija would be shown after Exatlon. No time slot was mentioned.
I'm so confused. Looks like it's a wait and see. If it airs on my station, I'll attempt the recap but it probably won't be up until Thursday late morning Eastern time.
dondi356
dondi356, thanks so much for your interesting and very helpful comments.
I guess I was right that the person in the bathroom scene with Asu looked like Oyku's "aunt." However, I was under the impression that Asu wasn't all that well acquainted with the person she hired to take over care of Oyku, whereas Zeynep was apparently someone Asu knew very well, and someone who could bang on the bathroom door and struggle with Asu to see the pregnancy test. Oh well, I'm happy to see that I did indeed recognize her.
I agree, Mu-rat seems somewhat less interested in Candan now that he has the house. And I still don't like him, either.
Ah, the "opening credits" are actually what I meant when I said the "theme song." It's what used to play at the start of a novela, but these days, it's often elsewhere. I think most of the time in Hija it appears about a quarter of the way through.
I guess there's no Hija tonight because of the VP debate. The announcement on Telemundo was really confusing. It came at the end, and it said that tonight there will be no novela because of the debate, but tomorrow.... Looks like they meant that announcement to run today, not yesterday.
dondi356, I didn't see your posting about tonight's crazy schedule until after I had posted my message. Wow, things are really confusing! I just checked to see what Comcast thinks it's going to show me, here on the West Coast. It has Exatlón from 8 to 10 pm, and then a crazy show entitled Minuto para ganar 10-11PM. There's no mention of either Hija or Falsa Identidad 2 at any point, not even in the early hours of Thursday.
So Asu might have a conscience...somewhere deep inside her? I thought she was just going to blurt out that she is Oyku's mother..and pleasantly surprised that she didn't. Does anyone else think that she was lying to herself when she wrote that she felt nothing when she saw Oyku?
Dondi, "Mu-rat gave Candan good advice, "Escape is not the answer", even if it was for his own reasons. He doesn’t seem overly interested in her now that he has the house. I still don’t like him." Great observation...I don't like the Rat either!!
Juanita, I think we were all under the impression that Asu and Zeynep were not that close, but I think Zeynep only told Demir that they weren't close because she didn't want to give him any info on Asu. Is Zeynep really Asu's Tia? If, yes, I missed that along the lines.
I think Demir refuses to even consider the thought that Asu may be Oyku's mother. It goes in line with his thinking that saying something will make it real...like Oyku's illness.
I love watching Demir being a loving, doting father too. And watching him think about Oyku's future (or lack of one) is heartbreaking. I'm hoping for a TN miracle drug...or a misdiagnosis.
Dondi, "Oyku was making dreamy eyes at Mercan" Awww, puppy love...that was really cute. And like, Oyku, I 'm worried that if she is Snow White, she might get one of her episodes and forget her lines. That would be devastating for her.
Thanks very much, Rgv Chick. I always enjoy and value your comments.
I find Asu very difficult to read, so I really don't know whether she was telling the truth or lying to herself when she claimed that she felt nothing when she saw Oyku. She did comment to Demir that Oyku was very sweet, and he should take good care of her, but again, I'm not sure what her motives/feelings were in saying this.
It never occurred to me that Zeynep might be Asu's aunt, but that would make a lot of sense, especially in view of the scene in the bathroom. An aunt who was close to Asu and/or close to her mother would be someone who might indeed know that Asu was pregnant, might bang on the door demanding to be let in, and might fight with her to see the results of the pregnancy test. So I bet you're right! And your explanation of why Zeynep claimed to Demir that she didn't know Asu well also seems to make great sense.
And I too am hoping for a TN miracle drug or a misdiagnosis re Oyku's illness.
