Asu pays a visit to her father. He asks her to take a seat. She does not and leans on the rail at the end of his bed. He wanted to call her but didn’t have her number. What kind of talk would we have, she asks, do you think I have anything nice to say? He says she has every right to say whatever she wants.
Anyway, she’s not there to make peace. She wants the money—you will give it to me, not to her. You can do it. Consider it the only favor you will ever do for me. No, he won’t do it. Asu’s anger is building. I’m the daughter, I deserve the money. Her father won’t give in. He says her daughter should be with her. She yells, if you care so much, you can take custody of the girl. She wants the money. Why does everyone think I should take the girl? Well that’s enough—everyone can go to hell! And she turns to go. Her father calls, “hija, no te vayas por favor”. She stops for a second, looks back at him, and then leaves.
Oyku asks Demir for help with homework. He hopes it’s not Math. She tells him about the play. She has to audition; she needs to learn her lines. Demir says he knows nothing about drama and things like that. He asks, what’s the play? When her finds out its Snow White and Mercan is the prince, he blows a gasket. No daughter of his will be Mercan’s princess! She should be a dwarf instead. He forbids it! They argue. I’m the father, well I’m your daughter. We’ll see, they both say…
Cut to the next scene and, of course, we see they are practicing her lines. Demir is not enthusiastic. He’s reading the character names and direction. She tells him, just read the lines, dad. He decides to give his own “interpretation” of the story saying, why don’t you just stay in the castle with your father?
Ugur interrupts the rehearsal with a phone call. He has good news; he found a job for Demir. Really? What’s the job? Taxi without a license. Without a license? Don’t you have something that’s not illegal, asks Demir? Ugur says, you have to start somewhere. You start tonight. Can you leave Oyku with Candan? No, he can’t and Demir doesn’t tell him why. So Oyku will have to stay with Mufide.
Mufide notices that Ugur is feeling low. He says he’s just tired, but he must be thinking of Oyku. She tells Ugur he needs to take care of himself. Health is the most important thing. This doesn’t help his mood. He wants a hug from his mother. They are glad to have each other.
Candan is packing up the clinic and on the phone with Aylin. She’s leaving Gece with Mu-rat for now. She will leave tonight and will see Aylin tomorrow. She comes across the drawing that Oyku made of her and Gece. She stares at it sadly. Cemal knocks at the door and she asks him in. He thought she was done moving. She’s moving somewhere else now, to Bulgaria. She had to do it. She’s turning over the clinic to an old friend. Why are you moving, he asks, is it because of your sick relative? She doesn’t answer and he apologizes for asking. He tells Candan, we just met and you have to leave, what a pity. Good night.
Demir and Oyku show up at Mufide’s. Oyku seems a bit skeptical about Demir’s nighttime job. She says if we are rich, why do you have to work? He assures her it's on the up and up so stop asking questions.
Asu shows up at Cemal’s. She went to see “that man” after seeing the lawyer. He’s going to leave the money to Oyku and that’s that. Cemal says all we can do now is to get custody. Asu needs a drink. Cemal lays down the law--you’re not drinking again. From now on it is forbidden. No judge will grant custody the way you are now. He continues, tomorrow you will tell Demir you are Oyku’s mother. The time has come to destroy Demir’s wonderful life.

Demir picks up a couple. She is very pregnant. Demir asks if they are expecting a boy or a girl. It’s a girl. How nice, Demir says, a daughter is a privilege. He knows, he has a daughter; she is eight years old. Demir says he can’t explain the feeling of becoming a father. It’s something that must be experienced. You feel so much joy.
The woman suddenly goes into labor and it’s a race to the hospital. Demir tries to be encouraging and says to stay calm. He asks if they have picked a name yet. No, they haven’t and Demir suggests Oyku is a very pretty name. They pull up to the hospital and Demir gets them a wheelchair. As the couple goes into the hospital, Demir shouts after them, remember the name Oyku! Call her Oyku! He stands at the door for a moment and then says, I wish I could have seen Oyku’s birth. In the confusion, Demir forgot to collect the fare!
Ugur and Mufide are rehearsing with Oyku. Ugur is better than Demir at this but he does break character to tell his mother she’s the most beautiful of all.
Demir is not having a very profitable night when he gets a call from Mu-rat. What? Did something happen to Candan? Candan is fine, don’t worry. Mu-rat supposes Demir knows she is leaving. Well, she’s leaving tonight. Mu-rat breaks his promise to Candan and tells Demir that Oyku’s illness is the reason she is leaving. Mu-rat continues, she is afraid to face you and Oyku. He believes that Candan is making a wrong decision. Mu-rat asks Demir to speak with her and ask her to reconsider. Of course , says Demir. Mu-rat tells him she’s packing so you must hurry. (Is Mu-rat a good guy now? I’m not convinced yet. I need more proof.)
Demir pulls up at the hostel as Candan is loading her car. He calls to her. He tells her, you don’t have to leave. I know why you are running away. You’re leaving because you don’t want to see Oyku sick. Demir asks her to stay. She shakes her head. She doesn’t think she can make it. Demir tells her, we can do it together. The truth is he can’t do it alone. He needs her with him. Oyku needs you, Candan. Please help her. He hugs her. She hugs back. They are crying.
Demir brings Candan some water. She’s feeling a bit better now. She tells Demir that Mu-rat and her brother think I put Oyku in the place of Seda. Ok, maybe she did at first, but now she swears she loves Oyku for herself. Candan asks, what if I can’t handle it? Demir finally asks her to drop the Mr, just call him Demir. Candan continues, how will handle it? What if I don’t know how give Oyku what she needs? She’s not Oyku’s mother, after all. When her disease gets worse, what will I do? What if I fail you and Oyku?
Demir answers, you took a girl and her father that you didn’t know into your house, but you did so much more than that. Demir knows Candan loves Oyku with all her heart. He has seen it. He didn’t think there was anyone capable of so much love. Someone like that could never fail them. She doesn’t want to hurt Oyku. Demir says, just be yourself. Treat her how the same old Candan would treat her. Tell me you will stay, please.
Candan decides to stay! Demir breathes a sigh of relief. They will have to take her things back to the hostel. After that he needs to get Oyku at Ugur’s. Candan asks, do you think I could meet Ugur one day? Yes, but he’s going abroad.
dondi356
Demir and a sleeping Oyku arrive home. He puts her to bed. Are we home? Yes, go back to sleep. She calls out, eeeee, and Demir panics. Whats wrong? Half asleep, she repeats the word physical. What’s wrong, Oyku! False alarm, she has a PE class tomorrow and her clothes are dirty. She wants to get up and prepare her bag. He says to skip PE. She can’t there’s a test. She could have told him earlier, it’s too late to go to the laundry now. He takes the sweatpants out of her bag. They are filthy with mud. Demir washes the sweats in the bathroom sink and dries them with the hair drier. He complains about lack of sleep. (Ah, Demir, any mother would tell you been there, done that) He puts the sweats away in her bag and pulls out Oyku’s notebook.
He reads: Dear Diary, I have to study a lot for the play. I don’t know what could happen if I forget my lines. I’m scared. The doctor said I would start to forget things. What if it happens now? What would I do? Do I really want the princess role? A distressed Demir closes the book.
And we are out.

Dondi, you made my morning with such an excellent recap, thank you!
I am trying to understand Asu's bitterness, but I am failing miserably. There comes a time when a person has to let go of the past and move on...she just won't do it and has driven herself to that miserable pit she is in. I just can't feel sorry for her.
Yay, Demir has a real job! I thought that lady was going to have the baby in the taxi. I'm glad Demir didn't have not deliver the baby but darn, he didn't make a cent that night.
I was really surprised that MuRAT called Demir to ask for help (I'm not convinced Mu-rat is a good guy either), but DOUBLE YAY that Demir convinced Candan to stay! YIPPEEE!! I was really hoping for a KISSSS...oh well, hopefully that will come soon.
What a beautiful recap, dondi! I found it every bit as moving as the episode itself. Your account of the scene between Demir and Candan almost had me in tears. I also felt more respect for Demir than I did earlier. What he said to Candan showed a depth of understanding that convinced me for the first time that if he and Candan are together at the end of the novela, it won't be simply because it's a novela convention.
LIke you, I don't know what to think about Mu-rat-or-maybe-not-rat after last night's episode. I too am inclined simply to wait and see.
I don't see much of a future for Demir as a taxi driver, licensed or not. Even if he eventually remembers to charge his clients, driving a taxi is unlikely to pay enough to cover the expenses he's worrying about.
I would have discussed my feelings about Asu, but Rgv Chick's account is very much what I would have said as well.
Finally, I loved your aside here: "He complains about lack of sleep. (Ah, Demir, any mother would tell you been there, done that)."
Thanks so much for the fantastic recaps, Juanita and dondi! I've watched each episode, but have been a bit AWOL. There's the NBA Finals to watch.
And...I've become hooked on rewatching Alborada. The bad thing is that the afternoon showing is two hours (actually 1.5 with all the commercials that I skip). I don't watch it until the evening. It's as amazing as it was the first time.
I have 3 unwatched episodes of Falsa Identidad. I can't quite give up on it, but the massive amounts of villainy are becoming hard to take for me.
So...Asu. So far I dislike her. I actually believe she was telling the truth when she said she felt nothing for Oyku. But I'm sure that the plot will end up having her try for custody. She will only be able to resist Cemal for a while.
So...we are to assume that Asu wanted Demir to be arrested, along with Cemal and Ugur, because of his throwing her out. I'm wishing for more flashbacks to understand better what happened. I do remember that, when Ugur and Demir were confronted by a furious Cemal, something was said about their having managed to get away. And that they didn't mean for him to take all the blame.
I'm quite impressed with Demir's rehabilitation. He truly loves his daughter and is willing to do anything to protect her. My fingers are crossed that she a) gets the role of Snow White and b) does a great job in the role.
I knew Candan was not going to Bulgaria. I just didn't know what would stop her. And, there could be a couple of reasons for Mu-Rat or Mu-Not-Rat to have called Demir. He still wants Candan somehow and wanted Demir to help keep her in Istanbul. Or...he's really not a rat and realized that Candan would hate herself forever if she left, and he knows that the doomed child needs that affection also. But, I do agree that he seemed not that upset when she told him she was leaving.
It's hard to comment when you're doing it 3 episodes late!
I'm not sure how they're going to manage Demir being a night taxi driver. This would mean her staying with Mufide and Ugur on a regular basis.
novelera, I'm glad you've caught up with Hija. I don't have much hope for Demir as a taxi driver, but if he does do this (or some other job that requires him to be out at night), I imagine that since Candan has decided to stay, Oyku could perhaps stay with her rather than having to go to Mufide's every night.
I too have been watching Falsa Identidad2, but I keep thinking that I may not continue. It seems rather similar to Identidad1. Lots of villainy, lots of shooting, lots of Circe still determined to win or kill Diego (she's now leaning more to killing him). Yawn. Last night's episode seemed especially silly. There was a big shootout between Circe and her women warriors vs. Diego and Deivid (and eventually a bunch of cops as well, I think). Neither Diego nor Deivid seems to have heard of taking cover when someone is shooting at you. Diego, especially, was continually offering himself for target practice, but Circe and her women--even one with a machine gun--couldn't seem to hit him at fairly close range. I think someone may have finally hit Deivid, but not seriously enough to keep him from hightailing it back to the car. I do like the actors, and they're the reason I'm still watching and may continue to watch, but I'm not sure.
Thanks, Rgv Chick, Juanita and novelera. Great observations and comments.
Who knows why some people manage to survive or even thrive despite rough childhoods and others never recover? Demir and Ugur never seemed as damaged as Asu. Cemal is bitter because of his jail time. Demir, and to some extent, Ugur, have been redeemed by Oyku entering their lives. Maybe Oyku can turn Asu and Cemal around as well.
novelera, I’m still waiting for an explanation of Asu’s betrayal, too. There must be more to it.
Demir and Candan were great last night. I hope it doesn’t take too long for a Demir-Candan kiss either. And I hope it’s a passionate one. Juanita and I recently finished watching Cennet and most if not all the kisses were on the forehead, cheek or hand. I can’t recall the leads kissing on the lips until their wedding in the gran final and even that wasn’t passionate.
When I watch original Turkish shows, censors blur out alcohol, smoking, and bloody wounds. They pay special attention to sexual content and even kissing has caused controversy and censorship. My favorite Turkish show, KPA, stirred controversy because of “inappropriate kissing”.
I am very far behind on Falsa Identidad. So many shows, so little time.
Thanks for taking on tonight's recap, Juanita. Looking forward to it.

I just saw an announcement during Hija that Hija would resume on Tuesday. I checked Zap2it and Exalton will be airing from 6-9PM (E) on Monday.
Thanks for the heads-up, Rgv Chick. I'm scheduled to put up the TyM pages for the coming week, so I very much appreciate your alerting me to a possible change in the schedule. I'll be sure to check with Telemundo and Zap2It before I put up the pages.
I'm going to start with a rant. Yesterday,Exatlón ran over, and as a result,
Todo por mi hija began 11 minutes late. Today, it started 6 minutes late. In both cases, the minutes were not made up. The novela ended promptly at 10 pm, so apparently cuts were made. [End of rant.]
Tonight's episode starts with a knock on Demir's door. It turns out to be people delivering a lot of furniture for the fouse. Oyku is delighted.
After the furniture is delivered, Demir tells Oyku that he's going to help her with her role in the play. He and she will study the lines together. He tells her that he doesn't want to see Ilayda be the princess.
Demir takes Oyku to school. He stops her from going up the stairs because he sees that her shoe is untied. He bends over to tie it. Oyku thinks this is unnecessary. Demir tells her he doesn't want her to fall. "What would I do without you?" he asks.
Demir's phone rings. It's Ugur, asking where he is and telling him he's been waiting for him at the registration office. Demir assures him that he'll be there in ten minutes. Ugur is there with Mufide to get the final transfer of the house in Mufide's name. Mufide is very proud of her son and his friend. She tells other people at the office that Ugur and Demir had worked very hard to buy her a house. Someone hands Ugur a document attesting to the transfer. Mufide is very happy, and she tells Demir "My house is your house."
Demir gets a phone call from Asu. She's at his house, and she needs to talk to him. He leaves the registration office and arrives to find Asu standing outside the house. "What's wrong?" he asks. She just looks at him. Finally, and probably reluctantly, he opens the door and lets her in. She looks around, comments that the house is nice, quiet, she likes it. She then asks Demir, "Do you have something to drink?" "No," he says coldly, "Why are you here again? Be quick about it." Asu replies, "Demir, you know. I'm her mother. I'm the mother of Oyku." Demir accuses her of scheming something with Cemal. Asu tells him he can call the woman Oyku calls her aunt. She hands Demir the phone. She insists again, "Oyku is my daughter. I gave birth to her."
Ugur is waiting for Oyku to come out of school. She does so. He asks her where her school uniform is. Did she skip school again? Oyku assures him she has done nothing wrong, she's dressed as she is because she had PE. She then asks whether he would take her to the bookstore across the street from the school. She wants to buy a book so she can read some stories in order to learn more about the play.
They go into the bookstore and who should be there but Sevgi, Oyku's teacher, whom Ugur is attracted to but in whose presence he always manages to make a fool of himself. This encounter starts the same way. Ugur claims he loves to read and has read many books. Sevgi asks him who his favorite writer is. He looks around at the books on the wall, and finally Sevgi points out that he's in the children's section. He heads over to another section, looks at the books, and mutters to himself, "who are these guys?" Sevgi comes up, sees the book in his hand, and mentions that the writer is her favorite. Ugur of course says he likes him, too. "What is the poem that you like most?" asks Sevgi. Ugur stammers that, um, he likes them all. Sevgi's phone rings, and she moves away to answer it. Ugur mutters to himself, "I feel so stupid every time I see her."
Ugur then overhears Sevgi give the person on the phone the last four digits of her credit card. She then says, "You want my password?" Ugur comes over and starts talking as Sevgi is trying to talk on the phone. She tells the person on the phone that she's not comfortable giving her password over the phone. Suddenly, Ugur grabs the phone from her and says to the caller, "You want the password? Take your mother's maiden name and multiply it by the account number, and I'll punch your face until you get it." Sevgi is upset at Ugur's behavior. Ugur tells her that the call was a scam, it wasn't the bank calling. If she doesn't believe him, she should call the bank. Oyku adds that Ugur was scammed recently and so he knows about scams. Sevgi calls the bank. At first, it sounds as if the bank did call, but then Sevgi says "What? Are you sure? No, no problem. Many thanks." She turns to Ugur and thanks him profusely--it was a scam, and he saved her from falling victim to it! [dondi356, it looks as if your prediction about Ugur and Sevgi may be one step closer to coming true.]
Demir sits in the house after Asu leaves. There's a knock on the door. It's Oyku and Ugur. Oyku has to pee and makes a beeline for the bathroom. Ugur goes on about how lovely the house is. Demir blurts out, "Asu is the mother of Oyku." "I knew it!" Ugur replies. But then he asks, "What kind of mother abandons her daughter?" Demir tries to get him to speak more softly, so Oyku won't hear him. Oyku does hear something, though, and she asks a question. Demir replies, "Haven't I told you not to interefere in the conversations of adults?" Ugur leaves, and Oyku thanks him for the books.
Oyku reminds Demir that he was going to rehearse the lines with her. They do so. At one point, when Demir reads "Will you stay with us?" Oyku replies, "With great pleasure," with a big grin on her face.
Asu is with Cemal. She tells him, "I did it." Cemal wants to know how Demir responded. Asu tells him, "Demir thought that I was scheming with you." Cemal appreciates Demir's astuteness. We then see more of the scene between Asu and Demir. He's furious with her, and he throws her out of the house. The scene is rather similar to one we saw in one of Asu's earlier recollections, where Asu is pleading with him and telling him she loves him, and Demir throws her bodily out of the house. She now tells Cemal that Demir will not give up easily. He wants to be sure that I won't abandon her again. Asu suggests that her next move should be to tell Oyku that she's her mother. Cemal says no. He reminds Asu that she was absent for 8 years. "What if Oyku says in court that she'd rather stay with Demir?" He tells Asu, "if Oyku finds out her mother is not dead, she'll run away. That's what we want. But first you have to gain her trust. And before that, you have to convince Demir." He gives Asu money for herself and then some so she can go shopping with Oyku.
Oyku is reciting her lines to Demir. Demir tells her that she has to convey that she's frightened. She does the lines again. The rehearsal is interrupted by a knock at the door. I'm fearing that Asu is back, but no, it's Candan! Oyku opens the door and stands there stunned, then delighted. She happily takes Candan to see her room. She asks Demir why he didn't tall her Candan was coming. Demir replies that he wanted it to be a surprise. Candan smiles at Demir, but he still seems to be processing the revelation from Asu.
We next see Demir driving someone in his taxi. He lets the guy off, and the guy starts walking away without paying. Demir reminds him that he hasn't paid. The guy claims he paid at the start. Demir calls him a liar and demands that he pay. The guy continues walking off. Even though the guy is bigger than Demir, Demir grabs him, knocks him down, reaches into his coat for his wallet, takes out the fare he's owed, and throws the wallet with the rest of the money back at the guy. The guy claims he'll call the police. Demir ignores him and drives away.
Asu calls again. She wants to continue their conversation and suggests they go to his house. He says no, we should meet elsewhere. They meet at a cafe. Asu tells him that after he kicked her out, she realized he was right. "I shouldn't have told you that way. I want custody of Oyku. I'm trying to do things better in my life. My father will leave me a lot of money. I can offer Oyku something better. The police and the court will be on my side. Let's do it the right way. I want to spend time with her." Demir objects that if she tells Oyku she's her mother, Oyku could be severely traumatized. Asu suggests that Demir simply introduce her as a friend. "I can take her away from you. Instead of going to court, let's handle it better ourselves."
Demir finally agrees that Asu can see Oyku, but only when he says so. And if she tells her she's her mother.... Asu says she understands. Demir continues, "If you hurt her, I'll kill you."
Demir returns to the house to find Candan and Oyku asleep on the couch. He picks up the sleeping Oyku and brings her to her bed. Candan is now awake. She tells Demir she thinks she should go. Demir replies, "I think you should stay. I mean, it's late, and dangerous." She agrees, seeing that it's almost dawn. Demir offers her some coffee, and she accepts. She tells him that she and Oyku were studying the play. "I'm sure she'll get the part," she says. "I hope so," Demir replies. "She's obsessed with it."
Candan senses that something is troubling Demir. She asks, "Is something wrong? Do you want to tell me?" He tells her that Oyku's mother has appeared out of nowhere, she just showed up after 8 years. She wants custody. Candan asks whether Oyku knows. No, she doesn't. "Is it possible she'll get custody?" asks Candan. Demir shakes his head no, and says, "Oyku has been through a lot, and she will go through a lot more. I'm never going to leave her. I'll always be with her." Candan puts her hand on his. They look at each other as the episode ends.
Wonderful recap, Juanita. Captured the emotions and there’s certainly a lot to take in. Thank you so much.
Two interactions between Demir and Oyku really hit me. They had meaning beyond the words--beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. So glad you mentioned them, Juanita:
Demir fastens Oyku’s shoe and says, “what would I do without you?” Then they silently looked at each other for a couple of beats.
Demir struggles with the rehearsal session after Asu dropped the bomb. Oyku has to snap him out of his distraction. "Demir reads, ‘Will you stay with us?’ Oyku replies, ‘With great pleasure,’ with a big grin on her face.” The look on his face, ugh.
So Demir has tossed Asu out for the second time. Maybe the third time will be the charm? Her theme music fits her. Edgy.
Will Asu want Oyku after she finds out about the illness? The inheritance would certainly help with Oyku’s medical treatment. Asu has Tia Zeynep's phone number? Does that mean they keep in touch? Apparently Zeynep hasn’t told Asu anything.
Demir and Candan are getting closer. I didn’t think he’d tell her about Asu so soon. I’m certain there will be lots of speed bumps ahead. The ish is gonna hit the fan when she meets Ugur. That reveal will likely damage any relationship Sevgi may have with Ugur, too.
I’m ticked about Exatlon eating into our Hija hour as well.
dondi356
Thanks so much, dondi356, for your helpful and insightful comments. I love the way you've provided more context for the scenes between Demir and Oyku that both of us have enjoyed. I confess that one of the problems I have with recaps is that I do them late at night, and what is often uppermost in my mind is writing as quickly as I can so that I can get to bed at a semi-decent hour. So all too often I don't provide the kind of context the scenes deserve.
Another thing that often falls by the wayside when I do recaps is snark. Last night, for example, I posted part 1, which ended with "Ugur mutters to himself, 'I feel so stupid every time I see her.'" As soon as I posted it, I thought to myself, "that was one of the smartest things he's said." Alas, I had already posted part 1, so there was no easy way to add a bit of snark playing with that idea.
As you note, if/when Candan meets Ugur, stuff will hit the fan and may affect not just the relationship beween Candan and Demir but also perhaps the one between Ugur and Sevgi. Still, the very fact that Sevgi is suddenly grateful to Ugur and impressed with his knowledge of scammers suggests that what you've prophesied about their relationship may indeed turn out to happen. Perhaps. :-) I'm still hoping Sevgi can do better than Ugur.
I love your remark about Demir throwing Asu out of his house, "Maybe the third time will be the charm?"
Thanks for the terrific recap, Juanita. You got a very eventful episode indeed.
I actually wondered if Demir might tells Asu about Oyku's illness - to put her off wanting custody since she might have to care for a very sick child. But I suppose it's too much to expect novelas to move that quickly.
One thing I noticed is that several characters, including Oyku, have had to rush to the bathroom. And, when they were living in the hostel, Demir had to indicate some urgency when Oyku was in that bathroom. This is a big switch from Latino novelas in which the only time anyone goes into a bathroom is to have a monologue with their image in the mirror or take a pregnancy test.
Hard to tell where they're going with Asu. I hate every scene she's in, mostly because of her weird eyes. So far Cemal has had to talk her out of every impulsive thing she wants to do so as to get her hands on the money quickly. I still believe her when she said she felt nothing upon seeing Oyku. It's possible she'll somehow reform, kick Cemal to the curb, and be in Oyku's life, along with Demir and Candan.
I concur with being disgusted about Exatlon running over. When they did it Thursday night, I thought it was preempted. I had just begun watching the 6PM East Coast showing, saw no signs of the novela and, since it was around 9:10 or so, I went to the live showing on West Coast Telemundo. And thus realized that both versions had the reality show on waaay into the novela's normal starting time.
A character that verges on unbelievable for me is Mufide. But the actor is doing such a great job that I've stopped mentally saying: "Come on! This woman is too saintly to be real!" The scene where she gets the deed and also the income from Demir paying rent was really well done.
Juanita, your recap was a such a treat to read after a long day. Thank you so much!
Those moments when Demir and Oyku look at each other after saying something related to the future touch my heart. Dondi has already described the two instances in this episode quite well, so I won’t go into detail. I am still amazed at
How quickly Demir has been transformed into such a caring father.
I too thought that Demir was going to tell Asu about Oyku’s illness. I am wondering if Asu will even care or if it will deter her from seeking custody. Novelera, a reform for Asu would be wonderful and the best thing for Oyku, but I just can’t see her being a nurturing mother. OTOH, it’s only abTN...anything and everything is possible.
It’s inevitable that Candan will meet Ugur. Will she recognize him? She only saw him briefly. But then even if she doesn’t recognize him, I think Demir will eventually tell her the truth about his past...at least I’m hoping that he does.
I still can’t see Sevji and Ugur together, but it does look like Dondi is right about them. He scored a lot points saving her from that scam.
Thanks again, Juanita; I don’t think you fell short at all!
Many thanks, novelera and Rgv Chick, for your great comments.
Like both of you, I thought about the possibility that Demir might tell Asu about Oyku's illness. However, I then feared that if he did tell her, that might make her even more eager, since Oyku might die and the money might then come to Asu and Cemal (yes, I'm sure Cemal will arrange things so that he gets a chunk no matter what). That assumes, of course, that Asu is totally heartless. I'm not sure that's the case, but I think I'd rather she not be told about the illness.
novelera, you made an interesting point about the difference between Turkish and Spanish novelas when it comes to bathroom use! It made me realize that, indeed, I don't recall ever seeing anyone except perhaps a young child express an urgent need to go to the bathroom in a Spanish novela, whereas even Demir expressed such a need in Hija. Fascinating.
Rgv Chick, I think Candan has seen Ugur twice, once at some length when he and Demir came to the house as art assessors and again, more briefly, when Demir pretended to catch Ugur in the act of switching the painting. So I think it's quite possible that she'd recognize him. Anyway, regardless of whether she recognizes him, I share your lack of enthusiasm for a match between Sevgi and Ugur.
Juanita, " I then feared that if he did tell her, that might make her even more eager, since Oyku might die and the money might then come to Asu and Cemal" I was just thinking that this morning. If Asu does become eager for Oyku to die, that makes her a much more evil person than I thought
And thanks for reminding me about Ugur and Demir coming to the house as art experts. I completely forgot about that. So then, Demir will be forced to tell Candan who he really is (was). Not good, but if they are to have a closer relationship, they need to develop that trust.
Juanita, it was not my intention to step on your recap. It did not lack feeling or detail and you need not explain. I just wanted to show how much I was moved by the Demir-Oyku scenes. I look forward to all your recaps and enjoy them very much. Snark or no snark. I hear you on late night recapping. That’s part of the reason many of mine are posted late next morning (ET).
Interesting observations and comments everyone. Ha ha, I never thought much about Latino vs. Turkish TN bathroom usage. I’ve seen shower scenes in both. I did take notice of the toilet usage in Hija. Maybe because this show is centered around a child.
I have no guesses on what will happen with Asu. Her storyline can go off in several directions. I just want Oyku to have her inheritance for medical treatment and whatever else she needs for a good life.
Clarification: I’m not shipping Sevgi and Ugur. I fear they might become a comic relief relationship and then we will need relief from any annoyance it might cause.

dondi356, I NEVER felt you were in any way stepping on or criticizing my recaps! ¡Para nada! Your comments have enriched the recaps in wonderful ways, and I have always been delighted with them. I mean that very sincerely.
They announced at the end of Friday's episode that Todo por mi hija would not be shown on Monday, Oct.12. I note this in the Monday Telemundo y Más page, but that doesn't appear until 8 PM EDT, so I thought it might be a good idea to post a message here as well. Hija will be back on Tuesday.
