QT #14 Part 1
Leo had a flashback to the argument on the ill-fated wedding day, the hmore distant incident when he witnessed his father shoot a man dead and telling him after that he had to be prepared to shoot someone dead in defending his property. He then exited his SUV and shot the corpse-nappers. Minerva freaked out as Leo walked over to one new corpse and took what looked like military dog tags out of the hand, saying “Nobody takes what's mine. Now I know what it is to be a man.” He ignored his mother's understandable shouts of “Let's get out of here!” as he retrieved the briefcase of money.
Just as Val started to explain her problem of not wanting to stay but not being able to leave Sandy arrived at the church. Val excused herself and left. There was much awkwardness.
Leon dragged the two corpses from the road and proceeded to bury them under a tree. He told the panicking Minerva that he had to do this so the police wouldn't come after them. He accomplished the burial as fast as Superman and without breaking much of a sweat. He then said they were going to return Patricio's body to its grave. Minerva acted like they were about to enter Dracula's castle, but Leo insisted.
Val told Remi about the night before. She was afraid that the kidnappers would come after her or Matt. Leo then arrived, telling her that nothing happened. He was out of breath and there was dirt on his face. He said he just wanted to shower and sleep.
He stood in the shower fully clothed as the water fell on him, as though he were in a trance.
Next Morning
Minerva must not have slept all night. She dumped out her purse and took some pills. She trembled as she mumble to herself.
Sandy wondered whether Padre G had not wanted to do the mass. He told her that was not possible. She was convinced he knew what was up and was too eager for some juicy little chisme. He told her to not tell anyone,but that Padre G was having problems and was taking sleeping pills.
Leo and Minerva told the Inspector that they recovered Patricio's body after paying $2MM. However, the body was still in Leo's SUV. The Inspector said he would call the cemetery about next steps, then left his office, closing the door behind him. Minerva said that at least they have the safe.
Remi had a nightmare about the kidnappers.
Val asked Matt about Padre G, but he said he knew nothing. Remi watched. Both were sure something weird was up.
Padre G finally woke up just as Luisa came out of the bathroom in only a strapless towel. He realized he had slept in her bed and missed the mass. She tried ti reassure him all was alright, but he picked up his shoes and ran out the door in a panic.
Leo returned the money to the safe in the den and replaced the print of the horse before Esme came in. He told her he had retrieved his father's corpse, which now rests in peace. Minerva entered just as Esme said “Your father would be very proud of you.” She then gave her sister the heave-ho by saying they had a meeting. When Esme was gone she said they needed to get into the safe.
Remi went to the inspector to talk about the kidnapping. A cop named Moreno came in with the tipo who confessed to Padre G, which made Remi jump back. The Inspector told Moreno to bring his captive to the lockup. Remi then looked afraid to talk.
Lorenzo was wearing the vestments and standing behind the altar when Padre G arrived. He told him sternly to take them off. He had to repeat himself twice before Lorenzo complied... right in front of two women who had come in to pray. He was only in his underwear under the vestments and in said underwear he ran out.

QT #14 Part 2
Sandy was doing an average makeup job on Berenice, who needs to stop looking so spinsterish. They were gossiping about Tirso. Berenice's phone signaled a message, Sandy picked it up and saw the photo of her sister and the Padre. She got on her case about her fantasies about him and started to tell her the latest chisme.
Moreno locked up his prisoner who asked to borrow his cell phone to call his children. Moreno let him have it and then walked away far enough not to hear that this guy called whomever he took his orders from to report that Val was changing her statement.
Minerva and Leo went into the cabin and she showed him the safe. The dog tags wee the locket buried with Patricio and the combination to the safe was inside it. He got the safe open, but Minerva asked “What is that?”
Mateo rode into a trap. A young man stood be a car with its engine hood opened. He hitched his horse to a tree and looked at the engine as the guy pretended to start the car. The kidnappers were in the trees, waiting to pounce.
Sabina was arranging some [fake?] flowers when Dahlia started a conversation that led to what Sabina interpreted as a criticism of her lack of dedication to motherhood. Dahlia reminded her that she was to execute the patrón's will, which shut Sabina's big mouth.
Minerva had a tantrum because there was no dinero in the safe; only files and documents. Leo told her to calm down. She screeched again and threw something on the floor. He threw what he was reading at the wall and yelled at her to shut up and “I killed those lowlifes for nothing!” She tried to play the outraged mother, but he turned his back to read the journal or whatever. She apologized but he ignored her. When she said “Let's go” he did not follow. He silently picked up some more papers and went to the desk.
The kidnappers attacked Mateo and took him away from the road. He was almost unconscious. Tirso's white car paused or a moment, then pulled out. Tirso talked on the phone about the damn police and about killing someone. He ended the call and took his pistol out of the glove box.
Padre G changed into a pale cassock and had just finished organizing the papers on his desk when Luisa arrived with coffee. She told him that what happened was no sin and that nobody knew about it. “It's a secret between you and me,” she said as she put her hand on his arm. She got up, said not to worry, and left. Berenice arrived, not pleased with what Sandy has told her earlier.
Remi found Val feeding a horse. She was becoming increasingly fascinated by them. He told her about going to the police and she told him he was crazy because this puts Matt in danger. A ranch hand appeared, asking whether they had seen Matt becaue his horse turned up riderless. Val made a call to report Matt's disappearance.

The two younger creeps held Matt while the older one repeatedly punched him in the gut. Mat pulled free and punched out the other two, which gave the one with Satan's facial hair enough time to take out his switchblade knife to go after Matt, who had somehow ended up on the grass. Tirso then appeared, fired into the air, and shouted “Let him go!” He faced off against the man with the knife, more fistcuffs and other blows later this ended in a struggle for the gun and the knife's owner was down. The two others ran off. A police car arrived as Matt got to his feet.
Padre G scolded Berenice for listening to gossip. She said she was worried and this became an argument. He had taken pills he wasn't used to and was under pressure as “a priest in a twn with problems.” She offere her help but he answered with the usual platitude about God helping him. She offeredd her unconditional help and he said he was grateful. He asked her to keep this confidential and she echoed Luisa's promise.
The Inspector and Moreno were on the scene and they arrested Tirso. They picked up the fallen weapons using cloth and Moreno checked the kidnapper to see if he was still alive.
Sabina went to see the Inspector to see Tirso., who started flirting with her. This didn't go far because she was not permitted more than a few minutes with him.
Aaron treated Matt's injuries, then left thr room to take a call. Val came in, saying the usual “Thank God you're alright, I was so afraid they would kill you.” before embracing the resident hunk.

Thanks for the expert summaries, Urban. If I were picking up Patricio's body, I would peek at it to make sure it really was he. There must be some important information in those documents from the safe. Revelation of more children?

Good Morning Caray Caray family. Kirby, RGV Chick, TF & everyone else. Here's my short recap on yesterday's episode:
1.) Gardenia demanded an explanation from Eduardo on why he was posing as Franco.
2.) Eduardo asks for forgiveness & just as the conservation was going along..... Dumb Fernanda shows up.
3.) Dumb Fernanda & Eduardo/Franco leave while Gardenia hiding in the hallway cries silently.
4.) Over at Jacinto & Mags' place: They argue about Gardenia blowing the cover of Eduardo/Franco.
5.) Over at Vladimir's ugly & crappy apartment, Vlad still drooling over Priscila. Damian is annoyed with his brother.
6.) Over at the countryside, Franco & Dumb Fernanda go horse riding.
7.) Dumb Fernanda talks about renovating the secret hiding place from 20+ years back.
8.) Eduardo/Franco caressing the carved heart-shaped sign of Eduardo & Fernanada.
9.) Lucio dressed up & carrying a weird suitcase bag leaves the undisclosed location.

I suspect there will be something in the journals about the not-actually-dead baby that we all suspect is Mateo. And maybe even something about Tirso's affair with Sabina...? What if Angelita is not a Montes after all? Will she still get the money?

My gut says there is another child of Patricio's somewhere in that town and it could be Lorenzo. We should keep an eye out for any dark-haired guys with square jawlines, dark hair, and fewer years than Lionel has.
The sense of entitlement about Patricio's money is disgraceful.
Between the brutal, womanizing father and such a selfish mother Lionel needs a shrink.
Two women with the hots for the local priest... would the writers have dared to do this 20 years ago?

Not covering it per se. Will try to remember a few key moments, possibly out of order.
Mateo visits Tirso in jail. Explains to the sheriff on duty Tirso was defending his life and he, Mateo, would be dead otherwise. Later, the priest comes and tells Tirso he will try to help. Tirso had a flashback to accidental shooting of wife (?) earlies, feels that he is meant to pass his entire life behind bars.
Val still has feels for Mateo, apologizes to him, tries to give him a ride. He refuses. Sandy is very jealous of Val. Remi talks to Val, tells her to forget about Mateo--they are from two different worlds, not meant to mix or be together.
Val remembers how Leo rescued her from a bad/abusive situation. No details, just he almost hit her with his car, stopped to talk, saw a bruise on her face, assured her he would not hurt her. Val tells Remi how Leo has been good to her, started a new life for her. She goes to Leo's room, meets him with strong hugs and kisses.
Leo's room also has two other (earlier?) invasions. Sabina sneaks in, wearing her ultra high clumpy platform shoes. She searches the dresser drawers and bedside table. Finds a passport--maybe one of the Patricio corpse kidnappers killed by Leo?.
Other invasion actually Leo's office. Mama Minerva wants money, as usual, and is trying to crack the safe. She calls an estate worker to bring tools and break it open. He is dubious and reluctant. He must have called Dahlia, because she comes in, sends the worker away, and gives Minerva a stern lecture. Minerva whines and says she needs money for her addiction. Dahlia says she needs to get treatment for her addiction. Minerva is a real weasel, finagling every way possible to talk Dahlia out of money. Dahlia says maybe, if Minerva will help bring the family and come to a dinner that night. Minerva says yes, but the expression on her face isn't very cooperative.
Luisa agrees to attend adult classes at the primary school. Berenice comes to talk to the Padre about the classes. Her dad, the mayor drops by, learns of Luisa's plans. He doesn't like the Padre's plan to help people (Tirso) in jail or helping with the school. Thinks the padre should stick strictly to church activities, nada mas.
At the end, Val and someone else (?) are in the commercial center of town. Mateo is going in a shop. (Earlier, he had tried to make peace with Sandy, bringing her a large bouquet.) Mateo says he's going to buy a ring for Sandy. He says they had been novios since childhood, and now it's time to buy a ring. Val is stunned, but pulls herself together and congratulates him, says she hopes they'll be happy.

Not covering it per se. Will try to remember a few key moments, possibly out of order.
Mateo visits Tirso in jail. Explains to the sheriff on duty Tirso was defending his life and he, Mateo, would be dead otherwise. Later, the priest comes and tells Tirso he will try to help. Tirso had a flashback to accidental shooting of wife (?) earlies, feels that he is meant to pass his entire life behind bars.
Val still has feels for Mateo, apologizes to him, tries to give him a ride. He refuses. Sandy is very jealous of Val. Remi talks to Val, tells her to forget about Mateo--they are from two different worlds, not meant to mix or be together.
Val remembers how Leo rescued her from a bad/abusive situation. No details, just he almost hit her with his car, stopped to talk, saw a bruise on her face, assured her he would not hurt her. Val tells Remi how Leo has been good to her, started a new life for her. She goes to Leo's room, meets him with strong hugs and kisses.
Leo's room also has two other (earlier?) invasions. Sabina sneaks in, wearing her ultra high clumpy platform shoes. She searches the dresser drawers and bedside table. Finds a passport--maybe one of the Patricio corpse kidnappers killed by Leo?.
Other invasion actually Leo's office. Mama Minerva wants money, as usual, and is trying to crack the safe. She calls an estate worker to bring tools and break it open. He is dubious and reluctant. He must have called Dahlia, because she comes in, sends the worker away, and gives Minerva a stern lecture. Minerva whines and says she needs money for her addiction. Dahlia says she needs to get treatment for her addiction. Minerva is a real weasel, finagling every way possible to talk Dahlia out of money. Dahlia says maybe, if Minerva will help bring the family and come to a dinner that night. Minerva says yes, but the expression on her face isn't very cooperative.
Luisa agrees to attend adult classes at the primary school. Berenice comes to talk to the Padre about the classes. Her dad, the mayor drops by, learns of Luisa's plans. He doesn't like the Padre's plan to help people (Tirso) in jail or helping with the school. Thinks the padre should stick strictly to church activities, nada mas.
At the end, Val and someone else (?) are in the commercial center of town. Mateo is going in a shop. (Earlier, he had tried to make peace with Sandy, bringing her a large bouquet.) Mateo says he's going to buy a ring for Sandy. He says they had been novios since childhood, and now it's time to buy a ring. Val is stunned, but pulls herself together and congratulates him, says she hopes they'll be happy.

I think you got all the important stuff. One thing was that Sandy talked to Lionel about becoming a model but he told her -- as politely as one could -- that she didn't have what it takes. This is going to make her even bitchier, which will be a huge turnoff for Mateo.

In Val's flashback to her original encounter with Leo, he was younger. Hair was all dark, with no silver sideburns.
QT #16 Part 1
Val and Matt talked about his upcoming marriage to Sandy. He looked less than thrilled.
Sandy talked with Lionel about Val. Leo seemed confident in his relationship with Val but Sandy seemed bugged by the photo session Matt was pulled into. She is still trying to get into modeling. Leo's response to her offer of “help” was less than enthusiastic.
Magdalena went through stuff in her “dressing room,” trying on disguises. Esme tried to warn her against Tirso. She looked at some photos. Magda has a daughter and Esme a “lost” son [Mateo?]. Both these women have sad histories with men.
Matt visited Padre to set the wedding date for ASAP. The Padre reminded him about the required premarital talk, then they talked about Tirso. Matt is sure he's innocent because he had saved his life two episodes ago.
Artemio embarrassed Luisa in her café. He is definitely a narcissist; he was projecting his abusive behavior onto her. Berenice defended her. The Inspector arrived and told Art sotto voce that Quintero claimed he was innocent but he was going to prison anyway.
Val looked into an album of horse photos and Leo started an argument with her about her interest in them and was this all about Matt? Val accused him of not trusting her. He said he would never forgive a betrayal and made a threatening move.
Esme warned Tirso not to cause any problems. Dalia visited him to thank him for saving Matt.
Confrontation between Val and Matt about Sandy which ends with a declaration of non-love and a near-kiss.Berenice talked to Pare G about Tirso because of wat she had overheard. He didn't think that Tirso killed Amara (for which he ha done time) but wasn't sure of the rest. He said that all men had secrets; she said “Except you; you are transparent,” which made him uneasy. She asked him if this was about a woman. He said No, but did not look her in the eye. He knew what her feelings were but could not return them. She moved into his space and he backed off, saying “This can't happen again.”
Matt and Val went at it about Sandy. She finally walked out, saying “You and I are not equal.”
Sabina tried to get the Inspector to investigate Val / Sonia Rodriguez. He didn't exactly refuse. She went on about Tirso, who was then brought in. There was another flashback to Amara's death and we see a masked person approach from behind Tirso an shoot her. Sabina got scared and Moreno took Tirso out of the office.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch [You knew that phrase had to come up sometime] Leo went after Matt, telling him to get out of the hacienda. He was to stay away fromVal. Dalia stopped the potential fight and reminded Leo that he could be cut out of his father's inheritance. Leo left the room.
Val confronted Sandy about what she said to Leo. Sandy said she spoke to him about becoming a model. She seemed to have fooled her.
A woan appeared in the Inspector's office to report the disappearance of her husbad.
Val talked to Remi who said – again – that Matt was not for her. He called Sandy a brat and when Sabina passed by he called her a viper., Sabina had asked her why she called herself Valeria and tried to imply that she had less class than she pretended to. Vall was sure she was after Leo.
Dalia talked to Matt about Sandy and his attraction to Val. She was concerned about this; he told her he went to see the padre about the wedding date. That made Dalia happy.

[He trusts her too much.] She wanted to dine with him that night to talk about the wedding plans but he begged off because of another dinner commitment about the ranch. The dollar signs appeared in her eyes so she let him get away from her hook. [but not for long, methinks]

Val came in, which allowed Minnie the Moocher to escape.Of course Leo realized that Sandy had lied to Val but Val said to ignore her. Leo said that Sandy is not a friend; she's a traitor. They made up.
The next day barbs were exchanged between Minnie and Sabina before Aaron and Esme arrived for dinner, which pleased neither Minnie nor Sabine.

Does anyone know if Scarlet Gruber is that actress' real name? Or am I losing my visual acuity because I see a resemblance between her and Vivien Leigh who played Scarlett O'Hara? Her features are a little softer than Leigh's were. Did her parents see that when she was born?
Sandy may be the belle of her small town but lacks the sophistication to compete with Val if they were in Mexico City or any other place where the fashion industry flourishes.
