QT #70

Leo menaces Carlo in the hospital cafeteria, but Carlo’s not taking any crap from a guy who wears a down vest over a polo shirt. Carlo says he’ll back off if and when Sabina tells him to, grabs a go-cup and goes. Leo calls Esme to tattle.

Val gives Ange the magic medallion while Mat looks on gooey-eyed from the doorway.

Art orders Chacho to fall out of love with his daughter immediately or he’s fired. Chacho goes all Dudley Do-Right and proclaims he will defend their love even unto death. He hands his pistol over to Art. Um, is that a good idea?

Esme tells Carlo she’s not some jealous little chiquita: if he says there’s nothing between him and Sabina, she trusts him. The builder comes into the cantina and refers to Esme as Carlo’s “senora,” which tickles her no end.

Lu tells Vicente she’s going to marry Art and starts to explain all the reasons why. “It’s not me you need to convince,” he replies. “It’s yourself.”

Leo tells Sandy they need to start canvassing door-to-door, but NOT in the neighborhood where that angry widow lives.

Back at the hospital, the doc metes out the information that Ange is going to be okay like he’s on some kind of game show. It’s very annoying. They put her in a tiny wheelchair and roll her back to La Noria for a surprise-party-with-spider.

Time seems to pass. Mat builds a baby crib; Leo and Val clink glasses; Ange gives the medallion back.

Lorenzo makes dinner for Remy and gives him food poisoning, so Mat and Val have to go into Mexico City alone-together. Val is starting a makeup line. (Do we care?) Mat has to see a man about a horse.

Sandy still hasn’t managed to get knocked up. Uriel offers his personal services, but all she wants is more fake paperwork. In that case, he wants 250K pesos. (Wouldn’t it be easier to just hand over what she gives away for free anyway?)

Lu answers Art’s phone and it’s a flirty Eva, calling him “bombon.” Upsi.

Sandy hits Dalia up for the ducats, lying that it’s for Art. Dalia says sorry but no. Sandy messes with her blood-pressure meds when she’s not looking.

Final scene: Leo calls the whole extended family-plus-orphans together for a formal dinner, saying he has an important announcement. Tito’s itching like crazy in his suit-jacket, Ange is about to pass out from exhaustion, and Dalia is dizzy and headachy even though high BP actually has no symptoms. Leo plays fake-nice and calls for a new beginning and a happy family, then pops out a ring and asks Val to marry him right there in front of everybody. She looks at Mat. He gives his head a tiny shake: no.
 

ECDLP #14

- Lucia can’t believe that Alonso has hired Marcelo. She storms out of the office.
- Marcelo tells Alonso he wants to live in the province for a while. Alonso asks if he’s running from something.
- Marcelo says he will return to the city the next day to resign for his current job.
- Rebeca seeks legal counsel with her old boyfriend, Mario Hernandez, who is now a lawyer. He wonders if she’s finally getting a divorce. She smugly says NOPE and that her marriage is going splendidly. But she does wish to discuss the Alonso/Rodrigo/Amador situation with him.
- Lucia vents her frustration with Magdalena about Alonso hiring Marcelo.
- Alonso tells Nazario about hiring Marcelo. Nazario advises Alonso to pursue a trial period with Marcelo and see how it goes.
- Mario assures Rebeca that he doubts Alonso will be formally charged with anything as it was an accident.
- Sergio tells Rodrigo he wants to pursue a relationship with Nora but Rodrigo advises him against
- Cops show up at Casa Gaxiola to tell Alonso they found an abandoned car and the papers indicate it belongs to Lucia. Alonso scolds Lucia for being reckless. She says she just wanted to get rid of everything that reminds her of Rodrigo.
- Lucia thinks Marcelo will take advantage of Alonso’s kindness.
- Marcelo returns home and tells Milagros he got a job in Puebla and will stay there.
- Rebeca is jealous that Alonso offered Lucia a job and not Nora. Alonso says Nora seems unsatisfied with herself.
- Milagros thinks Marcelo is being irresponsible and neglecting Daniela. Rafaela asks her if she really wants Marcelo to pay for his father's sins.
- Nora is talking to Sergio and trying to turn him down when Magdalena walks in and thinks she’s talking to Rodrigo. Rebeca slaps Magdalena and tells her to leave Nora alone and kicks Mags out of the house.
- Magdalena apologizes but Nora stays silent and Rebeca doesn’t change her mind. Rebeca tells Alonso
- Sara tells Leti that Magdalena went to see her to ask about volunteering opportunities. Sara wants Leti to do something productive. Leti mentions her dad leaving them.
- Rebeca tells Alonso what happened with Nora and Magdalena. Alonso thinks it’s absurd that Magdalena thinks that Nora is involved with Rodrigo.
- Rafaela visits Marcelo in his apartment and asks him about the woman Federico was involved with. He’s not sure about anything now (he believes Lucia is “Adriana”) Rafaela wonders if this revenge thing is worth it.
- Rebeca and Nora talk about what happened with Magdalena and Rebeca asks her about Sergio saying she should pursue something with him.
- Alonso and Magdalena talk. He doesn’t like that Rebeca and Magdalena are at odds. And if she’s sure about Nora/Rodrigo then spill it. Magdalena doesn’t so Alonso thinks it’s best that she leave.
- Magdalena tells Lucia that she fought with Rebeca but doesn’t give details. Lucia goes to talk to Rebeca telling her that Magdalena is NOT leaving. Lucia tells Rebeca that she’s not the woman of the house to give orders, that title belonged to Adriana. Rebeca still says Magdalena has to leave.
- Magdalena tells Lucia that Alonso agrees with Rebeca. Lucia asks her to stay until she can talk to her dad.
- Alonso apologizes to Amador again and Amador accepts. Alonso still won’t let Rodrigo return to the factory and tells Amador he already hired someone new and what he says, goes.
- Nora and Sergio discuss Rodrigo and the phone call incident. Nora says she wants to be with Sergio and kisses him.
- Rodrigo isn’t upset about losing his job. So he decides to go get his stuff.
- Alonso tells Lucia he can’t do anything about the situation with Magdalena. Lucia says then she will leave with Magdalena.
- Lucia runs into Rodrigo but doesn’t want to talk to him. Marcelo defends Lucia. Rodrigo thinks Lucia still cares about him (R)
Lucia responds by kissing Marcelo. Marcelo pulls her in for another kiss and they stare at each other longingly.

Thanks Blue Lass. Missed this one due to a long shift at work, so it's extra nice to have the highlights with some snark sauce on the side.

Are we mostly just churning the same issues over and over, with small variations? Still having fun with this one, though.

236.) Back at Casa Santorro: Body Language of Redhead is showing disgust where Clingy Erika brings up her upcoming engagement with Franco.

237.) Nagging Gardenia still annoyed at being The Help.

238.) Bravo HQ: Artemio pumping Liliana up for information while Liliana is eating food inside her room.

239.) Artemio is determined to find out what Liliana is holding back & asks her about Eduardo Juarez.

240.) We're back at Casa Santorro: Franco, Clingy Erika, Steve, Jr., Mooching Damian eating dinner.

241.) Nagging Gardenia serving refreshments to them & is excused by Franco.

242.) Redhead looks uncomfortable as Clingy Erika still gripping on Franco.

243.) Mooching Damian mentioning he wants to have kids with Redhead & we see the look on Franco's face & reaction.

244.) Bravo HQ: Artemio using the maximum intimidation campaign on pumping Liliana up for information about Eduardo Juarez.

245.) Liliana is scared shitless of Artemio.

"Magic medallion", indeed. I am more than a little irritated at the notion that prayer fixes everything.

The idea of Val starting a cosmetic line is not a bad one. It shows forethought on her part about the inevitable end of her modeling career. There are few models these days older than this actress (who is 32 off-camera) in an age when girls as young as 12 are on runways in adult fashions.

However, we all know she should not marry Leo.

The idea of Sandy not being able to get pregnant is an interesting new twist to this tale. It can also explain why she hasn't gotten pregnant in the ten years of her relationship with Matt. I agree that she would find it much easier to boink Uriel without much risk of the baby looking too different from Matt to provoke a demand for a DNA test.

However, if she manages to steal 250K pesos she will cook her own goose in the process, not to mention possibly ending Dalia's life. I am hoping that Aaron's out-of-nowhere affair with his flask will lead him to a drunken admission in Matt's or Dalia's presence that Sandy isn't pregnant. That would give Matt an easy out.

I have to say that Rodrigo showed very poor taste in cars. That color was cringe-worthy.

Amador is a prize idiot for any thought that Alonso could even tolerate having Rodrigo in his company after what he did to Lucia. For once, Brigida was smarter in thinking that sending Rod to Europe for a while would be the best thing to do.

Nora has been very clever at hiding her true nature from her parents. She gets away with everything because Rebecca is blind to her own evil and Alonso's blindness is fatherly. I doubt that either of them has heard her real disdain for work. She would be more useless than Rodrigo.

 

"MEPS" Episode 117 (XX):
247.) Over at Colegio Buena Esperanza: Aurora is still praying to the Virgincita when Mother Superior shows up & asked if she feels better from the recent fainting spell & she also wanted to know if Santiago Elizalde is the Baby Daddy of the baby Aurora's carrying.

248.) We see the flashback of Jackass #2 Camilo disrobing an unconscious & drugged Aurora when he raped & penetrated her.

249.) Over at the penthouse: Jackass #2 Camilo & Lovely once again: the conversation turns to Abdul Hassan (WTH is that dude ?).

250.) Once again back inside Aurora's room at Colegio Buena Esperanza: the back & forth conversation between Aurora & Mother Superior about who the Baby Daddy is: we get confirmation that it's Santiago's baby, but she's afraid Santiago will reject her when the truth comes out on the night she was "loosened up" by Jackass #2 Camilo.

251.) Casa Santorro: Steve, Jr., gets Lovely's voicemail when he tries to call her. Over at the penthouse: the back & forth BORING mess between Jackass #2 Camilo & Lovely: Fast Forward.

252.) Lovely is REALLY working it when she's flaunting her HOTNESS. Tanya Vasquez (who portrayed Venus Garcia/Lovely Norton) was amazing in this Telenovela.

253.) Back at the Elizalde Mansion inside Redhead's room: we see Priscila looking for anything incriminating: letters, photographs, notebooks, etc., we can tell Priscila feels guilty & dirty for doing this to her sister-in-law & BFF. Priscila's also worried Redhead might spill the beans to Jackass #1 Anibal about Priscila's escapade with Creepy Vlad.

254.) Now in the kitchen of Casa Santorro: Nagging Gardenia puts a large ladle of full sugar into one of the coffee cups, stirred it when Steve, Jr., walked in & asked her if there was something wrong.

255.) Jackass #2 Camilo & Lovely at the penthouse once again: sounds like she's going to give him what he wants....

256.) Casa Santorro: Franco asked why did Nagging Gardenia served him the sweetened coffee. She nags about Franco's marriage plans with Clingy Erika, making him unhappy, blah-blah.

257.) Franco takes Clingy Erika back home to the Astorga's. She notices that Redhead was acting very strange during dinner. Well Clingy Erika, no EXPLETIVE!

258.) Lovely FINALLY shows up at Casa Santorro & asked Franco about Steve, Jr.,; Franco asked Lovely how is her "relationship" with Jackass #2 Camilo going so far. We can see Franco figures out that he's suspicious of the engagement between Lovely & Jackass #2 Camilo because she tells him that she's falling in love with Jackass #2 Camilo.

259.) Back at the Elizalde Mansion: Santiago tells Psycho Barbara that Dominga was killed in the nightclub explosion from way back & Aurora has no family members to speak of, didn't know her father & very little about her mother.

I'll be doing Episode 118 today.

UA: I agree about the car. Lucia’s way of getting rid of it was unconventional but clearly zero thought went into purchasing that car. Rodrigo just wanted to look good in front of her....but that was before the whole wedding fiasco, of course.

Nora is extremely spoiled and yeah I think it mostly comes from Rebeca. Alonso tries his hardest with her but in vain.

 

"MEPS" Episode 118 (Part XXI)
260.) Back at Colegio Buena Esperanza: Aurora (who's becoming ANNOYING), is getting on my damn nerves again with the constant whining. She sobs & sobs about the mess in her life.

261.) Back at the Elizalde Mansion: DUMBASS Santiago tells Psycho Barbara on his search for Aurora & discussing her whereabouts. C'mon dude: we all know Psycho Barbara & Jackass #2 Camilo are responsible for driving her out of the house. Santiago needs to get a clue.

262.) Inside Santiago's studio: Redhead is PISSED off at her younger brother for trusting his EVIL StepMommy & Redhead even tells her dumbass of a younger brother that for all we know, Psycho Barbara could've hired somebody to make Aurora disappear.

263.) Bravo HQ: Psycho Barbara's more intrigued to upping the ante against Liliana as Artemio Bravo brings up the name Eduardo Juarez: UH-OH!

264.) Inside another part of the Bravo HQ: Ciro the Friendly Ghost & Liliana keep reading Ana Gregoria's diary. Ciro even seems to think Liliana is somewhat gullible into thinking Bravo isn't a bad guy, but Ciro (yes a DEAD MAN) & all of us watching this Telenovela know full well Artemio is EVIL & a bad guy & BAD NEWS from the get-go.

265.) Like earlier, Ciro continues reading the juicy, erotic diary of Ana Gregoria & we see the flashbacks from back in the day: WOW these flashbacks are crazy indeed.

266.) More of the flashbacks from back in the day: We see Don Jeronimo pulling the seduction moves on Ana Gregoria (I cannot believe Ana Gregoria was so damn GULLIBLE & stupid to fall for this EVIL jackass).

267.) Just as when Liliana is enjoying all of the juicy details of the diary, here comes Psycho Barbara menacingly barges into the room: STORYTIME IS OVER LITTLE GIRL! We get to endure watching Psycho Barbara abusing, roughing up Liliana pulling her hair & screaming at her non-stop.

268.) Over at Casa Santorro: Eduardo/Franco tells Steve, Jr., that Venus/Lovely is falling in love with Jackass #2 Camilo.

269.) Venus starring at the mirror & crying because she likes her new lifestyle right now & cannot stop. She went from annoying gum-chewing girl to HOT SPICY CHICK.

270.) Bravo HQ: Ciro's ghost realizes Psycho Barbara rages whenever the name Eduardo Juarez comes up (HMMMMMM). Even Artemio has to get Psycho Barbara off of Liliana. At this point, Artemio believes Eduardo Juarez is alive & well. Watch your back Padre Bosco because Artemio & his henchmen crew will be coming back for YOU.

271.) In the other side of the tracks, Rubiel Villasana has accused Jacobo of bribing the court's secretary in dropping the case against Mooching Damian (Mooching Damian & Jacobo are cousins).

Speaking of scheming & plotting: Priscila & Mooching Damian conspiring to drug & rape Redhead because Mooching Damian is obsessed with our Protagonista & badly wants some kids.

272.) Grupo Lactos: Psycho Barbara threatening to have Florecita fired because of seeing Villasana's son coming to the building. She even relishes playing the audio recording (which she aggressively forced Liliana to make) in front of Franco & Redhead. Not shocked at seeing Franco torn & disgusted watching Redhead crying after listening to the audio recording.

Just 42 more episodes left before Psycho Barbara's downfall!
 

QT #71 Part 1 of 3

Leo proposed to Val in front of everyone and she accepted. As everyone clinked glasses Dalia excused herself and went to bed. Sandy maintained the pretense of pregnancy with a glass of water, Minnie went in search of her neglected pet shot glass, and Matt looked both doubtful and unhappy. Angelita and Tito looked like adorable miniature adults.

Dalia barely made it to her bedroom. She managed to get into bed before Matt arrived to check on her. When he did she said not to call Aaron. Sandy then arrived to pull him from her bedside.

Later as Tito and Ange were drawing they talked abou how Val should be with Matt, with the implication that the nasty ones – Leo and Sandy – should be together instead of what was happening. Sabina entered and spoiled their little after-party with her usual insults meant for Tito. He politely left for his room.

Aaron stumbled around the street, somewhat drunk. Esmeralda approached him, demanding to know the whole truth about Don Patricio being Matt's sperm donor. He tried to dodge this, claiming not to know [but we can see that he does].

Minnie and her shot glass crashed the conversation between Val and Leo about their wedding, proclaiming that marriage and Los Montes mix like aciete y agua. Leo was irritated with her and tried to go over the guest list with Val. Minnie interrupted about the risk of the wrong people talking about Tirso and Leo replied that all he had to do was talk to Ange about it. Val brought up that that Ange still hadn't been told that he was her father, which amused Minnie. Val said he needed help and addressed the matter of his threats against Sab. However, he had saved Ange's life and then turned himself in. Leo looked at Val and said he loved her noblesse. Minnie mentioned money and her staying around for a while. Val bowed out gracefully.

 

QT #71 Part 2 of 3

Matt – once again – could not sleep. Neither could Val. He got out of bed carefully to check up on Dalia. He saw Val outside leaning against a tree. He asked her why she was marrying Leo. This became an argument that led to him confessing that he could not stand the idea of her with another man. He had married Sandy over her pregnancy while Val never said she loved Leo. He said she would be destroying her life if she married Leo. This ended with her going back inside in tears.

Sandy entered Dalia's room with pills in the AM. [The close-up of the lid she held out indicates to us that she also messed with these pills.]

Val told Remi all about the meeting at Avon, but he detected her issues and was shocked when she tld him she was engaged to Leo. He pointed out that she wasn't in love with him, but with Matt. She said that Leo was offering her something she had always wanted and had to have.

Matt talked to Carlo about this same thing. Carlo pointed out that he was married and Matt told him that Sandy had changed. All she talked about with now was the inheritance. He wasn't going to separate from her because of the baby.

Remi and Matt were at the future community kitchen where they looked at the plan and tried to figure out what was going to go where. Chacho came to the door looking for Leo in hopes of getting a new job. He introduced himself to Val (his first name is actually Alejandro) and she explained that the building would become a community kitchen. He was eager to help despite the possibility of low pay and Remi's insistence that he apologize to Padre G.

Berenice got on Artemio's case about Chacho, but Art wasn't taking her seriously. He kept insisting the accept the attentions of the governor's assistant who was moneyed, divorced, and had no children. He pulled the “I am your father and I know what's best for you” card again. Berenice stood pat.
 

QT #71 Part 3 of 3

While Matt and Carlo continued their conversation Tito and Ange messed with Carlo's cell phone. The music indicated basic kid mischief. The message was sent to Sab's cell. She saw it right away and began to text back. Leo entered her room to talk about how to handle the charges against Tirso. She was not to mention Tito. She agreed, then asked why he told Carlo to stay away from her... especially since he was now engaged to Val. He tried to grab her, she threatened to scream. When he let go she gloated that Val could not possibly come up to her level of sexual talent. She almost hooked him but he walked out.

Tito and Ange heard Matt and Carlo, returned Carlo's cell to his jacket and went on their way.

Sab went into the living room and had a verbal duel with Minnie and her shot glass about how much worse life had become since Matt and his mother moved into the main house and how Sab had missed an inheritance by about half an hour. Sab told her that Ange was registered as Don Patricio's child and therefore has her share. [Surprised that Minnie wasn't sufficiently drunk to spill the beans.]

Berenice went home and ended up in a little fight with Eva about Art. Berenice was angry with him for firing Chacho and therefore not pleased at the idea of her parents getting back together which would have inevitably led to their fighting all the time again. Eva said she had changed and things would not be the same.

Art was fighting with Luisa as he packed his overnight bag for his non-existent business trip.

Dalia was looking and feeling worse. She went to her room. Sandy tampered with Daia's tea with an evil look on her face.

I don't think Dalia will die, but she might get close enough for an episode or two. Matt doesn't deserve to lose his mum.
 

ECDLP #15

- After breaking the kiss and breaking eye contact, Marcelo tells Rodrigo he hopes that made everything clear.
- Rodrigo doesn’t think Lucia could forgot him so easily. Lucia says “Well I did. It was pretty easy”. Rodrigo walks off and Lucia turns to Marcelo who has a smirk on his face and slaps him twice.
- Sergio returns to work after meeting up with Nora. He works for Mario. Mario scolds him for being late. When Sergio mentions Nora, Mario acknowledges that he knows her.
- Nora wonders if Magdalena left but Rebeca isn’t so sure since Lucia vouched for her. Rebeca once again warns Nora to forget about Rodrigo.
- Rodrigo is cleaning out his office when Alonso and Marcelo walk in. Alonso warns him not to step foot in the factory nor his (A) house again.
- Lucia tells Leti about Marcelo.
- Lucia finds out that Magdalena moved out but luckily only went to Nazario and Trini’s house.
- Magdalena and Trini talk about Nora and Rodrigo.
- Rodrigo tells his parents that Lucia found a new guy. Amador is surprised that Alonso hired Marcelo so quickly. Amador says he needs to make a phone call.
- Alonso gives Marcelo a tour of the factory and tells him a bit of its history and introduces him to Nazario. Lalo can’t recall where he has seen Marcelo before.
- Lucia visits Magdalena. Magdalena reminds her that she said that she wouldn’t run away like Magdalena did. Magdalena assures Lucia that she’s staying in Puebla.
- Alonso is looking for Lucia but finds Nora. Nora thanks him for believing in and trusting her. Nora tells him Rebeca isn’t home.
- Rebeca and Amador meet up and he tells her that Alonso already hired someone to replace Rodrigo. He doesn’t think she’s keeping up her end of their deal. She counters that she has some dirt on him that she could reveal if she wants to.
- Brigida wonders who Lucia’s new man is. She mentions how Alonso moved on quick after Adriana’s death as well.
- Amador is with his lover, Ligia.
- Alonso tells Rebeca about Lucia’s threat of leaving Puebla. Lucia walks in and says she’s not leaving the house.
- Lucia tells Alonso that Magdalena is now living at Nazario’s house. Alonso asks Lucia about her run in with Rodrigo. Marcelo told him about it.
- Lucia promises Alonso she will deal with her abandoned car.
- Alonso calls Marcelo to ask for a favor, Marcelo accepts.
- Amador tells Ligia that he doesn’t want to ruin his marriage and set a bad example for his son (uh huh suuuure). He promises to deposit her some money so she can pay for her apartment. He hopes she hasn’t mentioned their relationship to anyone.
- Alonso tells Rebeca that Magdalena didn’t leave Puebla. She wonders if he regrets marrying her. He replies no because then that would mean he would be neglecting Nora. Rebeca tells him that someone told her that he hired Marcelo.
- Lucia goes to the police station to acknowledge that she abandoned her car and Marcelo arrives as a witness, much to her dismay. She will have to pay a fine.
- Amador returns to work and acknowledges that Alonso makes the decisions in the factory. Alonso will introduce him to Marcelo later.
- Marcelo asks Lucia why she doesn’t like him. She says he’s an opportunist and doesn’t trust him. He thinks she’s hiding something.
- Brigida asks Rebeca for marriage communication advice. Rebeca tells her to pay attention to the things around her. Brigida mentions Lucia supposedly having a new boyfriend.
- Alonso introduces Marcelo and Amador. Alonso tells Marcelo that Amador is Rodrigo’s father. He asks him how it went at the police station.
- Lalo finally recognizes Marcelo and Nazario asks Marcelo to explain what he’s looking for.

Despite the obvious age difference between Lucia and Nora Rebecca lost no time in bagging Alonso. He must have been a severe emotional wreck and she took shameless advantage of him.

Sergio is a fool; Nora would eat him alive and still be hungry.

I wonder how long Amador has been cheating on Brigida.

UA: I totally agree with you about Rebeca taking advantage of Alonso. Fiction or non fiction it seems strange to marry your sister/brother-in-law.

It definitely would be interesting to know how long Amador has been having an affair. Brigida may be eccentric and so far seemingly ignorant but there’s no excuse for cheating.

Brigida is a selfish bitch and a social climber. I can speculate that Amador eventually found her to be annoying, so began cheating relatively early. No excuse; he should have divorced her instead.

Milagros is a terrible control freak and a snob. Marcelo did himself a favor getting away from her.

Nora and Federico have something in common that their respective mothers spoiled and protected them too much growing up. Clearly Rebeca still does so with Nora obviously but Federico never gained emotional maturity before killing himself.

Amador probably feels trapped in his marriage. Brigida is very dramatic and could certainly emotionally blackmail him if she wanted. Maybe he’s smart enough not to fall for it but still, he obviously doesn’t care about Ligia either.

I think the difference between the two situations is that Brigida raised prey while Rebecca raised the predator.

Amador must feel trapped and I doubt he could care about anyone but himself.
 

ECDLP #16

- Nazario notes there are several strange coincidences about Marcelo. First, he arrives in Puebla asking Lalo about Adriana Murillo, then he finds Lucia, and now he’s working at TG...all in less than a week.
- Nazario asks how Marcelo knows of the name Adriana Murillo. Marcelo says his brother had a girlfriend with that name but now he knows that Adriana died years ago so it’s all confusing to him.
- Alonso asks Nazario what’s going on. At first Nazario says it’s nothing but then Marcelo steps in and says Nazario doesn’t think he’s qualified for the job. Alonso notes that Lucia also has a poor opinion of Marcelo.
- Marcelo tries to quit the job but Alonso says he wants him to stay because he likes that Marcelo is self assured and does have administrative experience. He tells Marcelo to think about it.
- Rebeca tells Lucia that Brigida told her that Marcelo is Lucia’s boyfriend. Lucia says she used Marcelo to get back at Rodrigo. Nora is jealous but Rebeca warns her she already has Sergio.
- Rodrigo goes to see Sergio at the law firm. Ligia happens to be Mario’s secretary. He introduces himself using his full name and Ligia asks if he’s Amador Zúñiga’s son. He confirms and Ligia checks him out..
- Sergio asks Rodrigo about Lucia already being with someone else. Sergio tells him he’s back with Nora.
- Nora is in Marcelo’s office when he walks in. She says she’s heard a lot about him.
- Amador intercepts Nora in the lobby and asks her what her intention was by separating Rodrigo and Lucia. Marcelo watches from his office.
- Marcelo leaves some paperwork for Alonso with Normita. He asks Normita about Lucia and Nora. Normita tells him that Lucia is the daughter of his first wife and Nora is the daughter of his second wife Rebeca. Marcelo has already crossed paths with Rebeca. Normita tells him that Rebeca is “special”.
- Rebeca goes to see Magdalena and tells her not to go back to the house. Magdalena says she’s not a threat to Rebeca. Rebeca calls Magdalena a snake. Magdalena says if she was she would’ve told Alonso many years ago that Rebeca has always been in love with him even before Adriana died. Rebeca tries to deny it. Magdalena says Rebeca’s supposed maternal instinct for Lucia is a lie. Rebeca hates Lucia just like she hated Adriana. Rebeca slaps her and calls her crazy. Magdalena warns her to be careful of how she treats Lucia.
- Tere notes the difference between Rebeca and Magdalena. Lucia hopes her mom was more like Magdalena. Tere tells her that she’s sorry about what happened with Rodrigo and one day Lucia will find someone who truly loves her.
- Nazario doesn’t want Marcelo to tell anything to Alonso as Adriana was the love of Al’s life and her death affected him very much.
- Rebeca tells Nora that Magdalena is still in Puebla. Nora says she met Marcelo. She wonders if Marcelo is interested in Lucia.
- Alonso invites Marcelo to dinner at the house that evening.
- Lucia is crying about Rodrigo and Rebeca thinks she should forgive him but Lucia is too hurt by what he did. Rodrigo destroyed her life. Rebeca hopes Lucia forgets Rodrigo soon and won’t suffer anymore.
- Rodrigo tells Amador he asked Sergio about job opportunities. Amador says he’ll make sure that Marcelo won’t be employed at TG for long. Rodrigo asks Amador if he knows Mario’s secretary. Amador says no.
- Marcelo arrives for dinner and Alonso walks him to the table. Nora tells Sergio she can’t go out as her dad has a guest for dinner.
- Alonso formally introduces Rebeca to Marcelo. Nora lies to Rebeca saying Sergio had work related things to do so she is staying.
- Amador warns Ligia to stay away from Rodrigo.
- As they wait for Lucia, Rebeca asks Marcelo about himself. Lucia isn’t happy to see Marcelo there.
- Teresa says flowers were delivered. Alonso reads the card which says “to the most beautiful woman in the world.” The card is signed with the name “Federico”. Rebeca drops her wine glass and it breaks on her plate. Marcelo, Lucia and Nora stare at her with different expressions.

Aha! Don't you just love that cliffhanger!

Rebecca and Nora have no relationship with the truth. I also have to say that nobody like them should be described as "special."

Ligia getting it on with Rodrigo is yet another level of incest, one we've also seen in QT. Some writers definitely have unhealthy fixations.

UA: YES! When thinking back to watching ECDLP the first time around, I almost forgot about this particular cliffhanger. And Rebeca is “special” in all the wrong ways. It is certainly hard to believe that Alonso married her and can put up with her antics...but that likely won’t last much longer though. On one hand, I’m kinda amazed that Magdalena has kept her mouth shut all these years about Rebeca being jealous of Adriana because Adriana was married to Alonso but on the other, it’s clear that she is thinking of Alonso’s and Lucia’s well being and doesn’t want to cause more problems by bringing up the past.

Magdalena was also very traumatized by the humiliation Ricardo caused by standing her up at their wedding. This is at least the first reason she stayed away.

She also knew that Rebecca was dangerous and that her hatred would lead her to worse things. However Alonso's trauma at Adriana's death was greater, even to causing him to not be present at her funeral. Disclosure at that time would have traumatized him even more. He dealt with it by becoming a workaholic, which can only last so long. Rebecca has been cheating on him for a long time because of this "neglect" and because her ego demands it. She knows he doesn't love her as he had loved her sister.

She carefully concealed her hatred of Lucia all this time. Rebecca is also in a bind because while she loved the idea of getting Lucia out of the mansion and her sight she also knew that Alonso would lose any motivation to be home after she was out, since she didn't work at the family business. Otherwise she would have come down harder on Nora for what she did.
 

"MEPS" Episode 119 (Part XXII):
273.) Grupo Lactos: We've got the aftermath of Franco playing the audio recording of Liliana not wanting to come back home. Redhead is frustrated & upset.

274.) Franco does his best to calm down Redhead.

275.) With 41 episodes left in this epic Telenovela, we're heading into the homestretch.

276.) Bravo HQ: Ciro still reading the juicy details of Ana Gregoria's diary to Liliana, who's sitting on the floor.

Ciro & everyone watching this know Artemio is still bad news.

277.) More of storytime beteeen Ciro & Liliana. Seems like Ana Gregoria's diary is TMZ 2.0!

278.) Flashbacks from back in the day: Don Jeronimo riding on horseback while Ana Gregoria watches from afar.

279.) Grupo Lactos: More of the confrontation between Franco vs Psycho Barbara inside Psycho Barbara's office.

280.) Meanwhile on the grounds of the Elizalde Mansion: Jackass #2 Camilo riding on horseback while Lovely watches & she's enjoying this.

281.) Back at Grupo Lactos: Daddy Elizalde listens to the audio recording of Liliana & he's had enough because he wants to contact law enforcement in finding Liliana. What could possibly go wrong ?

282.) In the meantime at the Elizalde Mansion: Mooching Damian & Priscila plotting to drug & get Redhead preggers (via rape by Mooching Damian).

Seems that Mooching Damian & Priscila have a creepy fixation on getting Redhead knocked up & taking a page out of the playbook of Psycho Barbara & Jackass #2 Camilo in their evil successful plot against Gullible Aurora.

283.) Meanwhile inside Grupo Lactos: Daddy Elizalde starts nagging at Florecita, whom receives his wrath over a phone call regarding the Police Chief & law enforcement.

Redhead has to calm him down because it's foreshadowing a health problem down the road.

284.) Clingy Erika shows up at Redhead's office & she grips Franco so tightly. Body Language of Redhead tells us she's disgusted.

285.) Colegio Buena Esperanza: Psycho Barbara shows up & wants to speak with Mother Superior. What could possibly go wrong ?

Addendum: Although the metro area of Puebla has a population of almost 3.3 million there appears to be a small-town mentality among the characters. Rebecca might be worried that Nora's actions would provoke gossip about this having happened a quarter century earlier with Magdalena's wedding. How stressful is that, especially since the last thing she would be likely to do is commit confessional abuse and tell a local priest.

She has no friends in any real sense of the word. That is evidence of severe narcissisim and other mental illness.

UA: I agree with everything you said. Rebeca is 100% a narcissist. She may have gotten what she wanted but it’s clear she is not happy. The thing that is keeping Alonso from even thinking about possibly divorcing her is Nora. And Rebeca probably knows this and is using it to her advantage.
