ECDLP #18

- Marcelo tells Lucia he found the earring on the floor when he was over for dinner. Distracted by the flowers incident, he forgot to return it. He’s glad she told him who it belongs to though.
- Lucia wonders why he has a gun....unless he did something and he’s afraid.
- Alonso and Rebeca are eating dinner alone. Rebeca tells him that Nora is out with her boyfriend. Alonso didn’t know she and Sergio had gotten back together. He’s worried though that Sergio is Rodrigo’s best friend.
- Magdalena is praying in the church and the priest, Samuel, notices her presence. She tells him that she’s been fleeing from herself the past 24 years. He gives her some encouragement.
- As she is leaving she runs into Mario. He tells her he’s still a bachelor but by the look on his face when she leaves, he seems smitten with her now. Samuel reminds him that she’s his ex’s (Rebeca’s) sister.
- Nazario and Trini talk about how they never had kids. Nazario is glad though that they were blessed with a wonderful goddaughter, Lucia.
- When Lucia returns home Alonso and Rebeca are already asleep. Lucia notes that Nora is interested in Marcelo so she doesn’t care if something happens between them.
- Marcelo’s secretary in the city, Lorena, calls him to tell him his possessions are ready to be moved to Puebla.
- Lucia goes to Rebeca’s room but doesn’t find her. She puts the earring back with its twin. Teresa tells her that Rebeca left to the city.
- Sergio suggests that Mario hire Rodrigo at the law firm but Mario is skeptical because of the wedding fiasco. Mario eventually relents says he’ll interview Rodrigo first. Ligia overhears.
- Nora is in Rodrigo’s bedroom. She tells him he still has a chance to win Lucia back. He kicks her out. Sergio calls him.
- Marcelo wishes to discuss something personal with Alonso at the office. Marcelo dares Amador to fire him.
- Alonso and Lucia are at Adriana’s grave putting flowers. They talk about Adriana’s absence in their lives. Alonso tells her that Rebeca went to see a doctor in the city.
- Rebeca is at Marcelo’s apartment in the city and finds Lorena there. She feigns ignorance and asks about Federico. She wants to give condolences to Fede’s brother and Lorena offers to give her Marcelo’s contact info.
- When Lorena steps out to take a phone call, Rebeca sees the bloodstain still on the carpet and flashes back to Federico’s suicide. She then leaves the apartment quickly.
- Alonso arrives at the factory and begins to look over some paperwork. Normita comes to his office and off screen tells him about the confrontation between Marcelo and Amador.
- Amador tells Brigida about his confrontation with Marcelo. Ligia calls him but he quickly hangs up.
- Rodrigo meets with Mario about a job.
- Marcelo doesn’t want Alonso to confront Amador and cause problems. He has some suggestions about the factory’s product catalog. Alonso nonchalantly mentions that Rebeca is in the city. Marcelo is curious.
- Mario hires Rodrigo. Ligia congratulates him.
- Alonso shows Lucia the production catalog. He wants her to help him update it.
- Nora is getting ready for a date with Sergio and Alonso wants to know more about their relationship. Nora thinks Alonso married Rebeca because he was lonely.
- Alonso tells Nora that Rebeca went to the city to see a doctor but he hasn’t heard from her yet.
- Rebeca is at a bar drinking alone when a young guy starts talking to her. She tells him she’s married and celebrating that she recently got rid of a young guy like him. She leaves.
- Lorena calls Marcelo and tells him about the woman who came looking for Federico. After describing her, Marcelo knows exactly who Lorena is talking about.
- Marcelo runs into Rodrigo and Sergio. Rodrigo tries to warn him to stay away from Lucia. They almost fight.
- Lucia asks Nazario to keep an eye on Marcelo because she’s worried about Alonso’s decision to hire him. Lucia notes Nazario doesn’t like Amador.
- Amador awakes from a nap to find Brigida chatting with Ligia. She introduces herself as if they don’t know each other.

 

Get used to seeing preemptions like this for awhile.
 

"MEPS" Episode 122 (Part XXV):
312.) We're back where we left off between the conversation between Psycho Barbara & Gullible Aurora at Colegio Buena Esperanza.

313.) More of the blah, blah, blah from Gullible Aurora & plus the hyperventilating of Psycho Barbara.

314.) Meanwhile at Grupo Lactos: Jackass #1 Anibal had originally planned on calling Priscila regarding the allegations of Priscila cheating on him......

315.) Speaking of Priscila: she's getting a massage at some swanky massage place in Mexico City Suburbs.

316.) Over at Bravo HQ: We see Artemio & Liliana on the mansion grounds & I think Liliana is having some creepy beverage. I see Artemio's got the diary of his late mother including pumping Liliana up for information on Eduardo Juarez & Co.,

317.) Flashbacks showing Ana Gregoria crying while writing in the diary at servant quarters on the grounds of the Elizalde Mansion.

318.) Buji Altagracia shows up & launches insults at Ana Gregoria. Soon afterwards, Ana Gregoria cries again & we see her very preggers.

319.) Over inside the Elizalde Mansion: Buji Altagracia reads the diary & starts plotting sinister schemes.

320.) More of the flashbacks: we see Ana Gregoria giving birth to a baby boy. Buji Altagracia kicks Ana Gregoria & the baby out of the Elizalde Mansion grounds altogether.

321.) More flashbacks showing Ana Gregoria having her baby baptized as Artemio Bravo. Hmm: it seems to me there's a good reason why Artemio has been plotting to destroy the Elizalde's.

322.) Artemio tells Liliana that he's her uncle. The news freaks Liliana out BIGLY.

323.) Once again: we're back with Psycho Barbara & Gullible Aurora at Colegio Buena Esperanza.

324.) Grupo Lactos: Redhead brings Nagging Gardenia to work at the company.....serving coffee & refreshments.
 

"MEPS" Episode 122 (Part XXVI):
325.) Grupo Lactos: Florecita & Nagging Gardenia are excited to be working together. I've noticed that since both Florecita & Nagging Gardenia are cousins.

326.) Jackass #1 Anibal heads over to the fertility clinic, meets with one of the doctors, who confirms that Jackass #1 Anibal is sterile & cannot have kids.

The first of several Karma anvils for Jackass #1 Anibal. I'm enjoying seeing this & I know it's wrong, but he's still an uppity jackass for mistreating people.

327.) Jackass #1 Anibal explains to the fertility doctor that as a young kid at 10 years old, he had a fall from a horse.

328.) Grupo Lactos: Mooching Damian snaps at Nagging Gardenia inside Redhead's office over not serving him coffee.

329.) Nagging Gardenia has one of those flashbacks showing her watching Mooching Damian & Psycho Barbara getting their freak on inside his vehicle.

330.) Casa Santorro: Jacinto & Mags walking to meet with Eduardo/Franco when they get startled by Creepy Lolipop Dude.

331.) Creepy Lolipop Dude asks if this is the residence of Franco Santorro. Jacinto replies yes it is.

332.) Jackass #1 Anibal contacts Creepy Vlad about the allegations of Priscila having an extramarital affair.

333.) Another scene between Psycho Barbara & Gullible Aurora at Colegio Buena Esperanza OMG.

334.) Flashback shows Gullible Aurora & Santiago introducing themselves from back in the day.

Poor Alonso, surrounded by rabid jackals in a pit. Nora is sure to be the worst of the lot very shortly.

Nazario knows that Amador has wanted to get rid of him for a long time. He sees Amador's envy and how he uses people... and doesn't dress well, either.

Rebecca lacks a conscience vis a vis most of her actions but I wonder whether she fears the possibility that she caused Federico's suicide. She has no knowledge that Milagros' sick parenting is also a major factor.

I'm surprised that Marcelo is as sane as he is coming from the same mother.

UA: I agree there’s definitely a noticeable difference between Marcelo and Federico as far as emotional maturity goes. It’s not totally surprising to see a parent spoil their kid(s) to the point where it affects development and maturity but yes, Milagros is definitely partly to blame for Federico’s suicide

That's what happens with narcissistic mothers. Federico is the Golden Child while Marcelo is the Scapegoat. That's what Rebecca did with Nora and Lucia.

UA: Exactly! Rebeca hasn’t exactly shied away from the fact that she resents Lucia but she doesn’t exactly deserve an award for how she raised Nora either.
 

ECDLP #19

- Ligia has come to Casa Zúñiga to drop off some paperwork for Rodrigo to sign regarding his new job. Amador escorts her out wondering why she’s there and says that Rodrigo won’t be working at the law firm.
- Rodrigo arrives and Ligia tells him about the paperwork. Amador doesn’t want him to work there but Rodrigo says he’s old enough to make his own decisions.
- Rebeca tells Nora she’s fine health-wise, just stressed about everything that’s been happening lately.
- Amador thinks Rodrigo deserves a better job but Rodrigo refuses to give up the opportunity.
- Alonso tells Marcelo that Lucia will be working on the production catalog.
- Marcelo runs into Lucia and asks her if she gave the earring to Rebeca and what Rebeca said about it. He doesn’t like the way Lucia treats him. He says it’s sad that a beautiful woman like her has so much bitterness in her soul.
- Sergio tells Nora that Rodrigo is now working with him at the law firm. Nora uses that as an excuse to break up with him saying Rodrigo isn’t a good person because of what he did to Lucia.
- Rebeca is mad that Lucia is now working at the factory and not Nora. She accuses Alonso of preferring Lucia over Nora because Lucia is Adriana’s daughter. Rebeca says it’s a shame that Alonso is still in love with a dead person and doesn’t see what’s right in front of him.
- Back at the house, Rebeca sees her missing earring back in her jewelry box and questions Teresa about it.
- Magdalena is sure that soon Lucia will be back to her old self and maybe fall in love again. Lucia says she never will.
- Nora tells Alonso she broke up with Sergio. She asks if Marcelo has moved into Lucia’s old apartment yet.
- Leti runs into Sergio and notices he’s upset. He tells her that Nora broke up with him.
- Nora goes to Marcelo’s apartment with the pretext of offering him help moving in. Marcelo reiterates that he thinks she’s hiding something, She kisses him briefly before leaving, smiling to herself on her way out.
- Amador catches Ligia on her way out of the law firm. He wants her to resign from her job. Mario sees her get out of Amador’s car.
- Alonso tells Lucia that he knows what’s wrong with Rebeca but won’t discuss it with Lucia.
- Rebeca tells Alonso that she needs to look for a psychiatrist. Rebeca is upset that she and Alonso haven’t been intimate recently and wants him to prove his love to her.
- A man named Vinicio visits Amador. They knew each other in “el Norte” and Vinicio needs work. He mentions Ricardo and says that if Amador ever needs anything to call him.
- Magdalena goes to talk to Alonso about Rebeca. Alonso says the problem is that Rebeca knows what Adriana still means to him. Magdalena asks then why did Alonso marry Rebeca. Alonso says that Rebeca was supportive of him right after Adriana died and not long after he slept with Rebeca.
- Rebeca tells Nora that Lucia is working at the factory. Nora isn’t interested in working there if Lucia is but Rebeca tells her to think about it.
- Marcelo formally meets Magdalena and is surprised to learn that Adriana AND Rebeca are Magdalena’s sisters.
- Rodrigo brings the paperwork to Ligia and thanks her for delivering them. Ligia tells him that realized that Amador wasn’t happy about Rodrigo getting a job.
- Sergio tells Rodrigo that Nora broke up with him. Rodrigo says Sergio should be happy about it. Sergio doesn’t like anyone talking bad about Nora. Sergio tells Rodrigo the reason why Nora broke up with him. Rodrigo tells Sergio the reason why he left Lucia at the altar. Sergio doesn’t believe him at first but Rodrigo says he’s paying the price for what he did.
- Lucia asks Nora if Sergio might know something about why Rodrigo left her. She warns Nora to be careful of Marcelo if she’s really interested in him
- Marcelo tells Lalo that he met Magdalena. He asks how Adriana died.
- Amador and Nazario are arguing about the factory inventory. Amador pushes Nazario to the ground and fires him. Alonso arrives saying that Amador is the one who will be leaving the factory.
 

QT #75, Part 1

- Sandi harangues Mat about taking too long with the water, and in his frustration he blurts out the truth about Mags being Val's mother. Sandi tucks this away with her usual evil smile.

- Leo catches Sab nosing around in his office. She goes on the offensive by asking him if it was really necessary to throw her love letter in the trash. He calls her a brood mare and says there are plenty just like her on the market.

- Art wants Vicente's house staked out until Luisa exits. Basurto argues weakly that it might attract attention, and anyway no one is actually doing anything illegal.

- Leo thanks Servando for getting his amiga to make the anonymous call to Val. Then he tells him he needs him for two big jobs: taking out Magdalena and Remy.

- Bere thanks Val for hiring Chacho, and they decide to be friends.
 

QT #75, Part 2

- Sandi blackmails Leo out of the 250K pesos she needs to pay off Uriel by threatening to tell Val who her mother is.

- Basurto saves Mags from being run over by a truck.

- Art walks into the pension while Bere is telling her Mom what a jerk he is. He pulls his father-knows-best stunt, they have words, and he slaps her. She says she and Chacho will move out the next day.

- Remy's cab driver takes him to the woods instead of the bus station, where Leo is waiting. Remy pleads for his life and Leo pretends to let him go, then shoots him twice in the back, empties his pockets, and leaves him there.

- Back at the hacienda, Blue Pat tells Leo that some day his accomplices will turn on him. But Real Minerva says that to be a true Montes, you have to get blood on your hands.

I think Minnie is full of sour grapes. I doesn't look as though Patricio had other relatives and none have ever been mentioned so her pronouncement is based only on him and Leo. Unless she believes that all rich people have blood on their hands, but she doesn't think that deeply.

She wants to control Leo, who already has blood on his hands; she was a witness.

I was screaming at Leo shooting Remi. I hope the Mexican audience was just as outraged. I want Leo to go to prison for life with no chance of parole.

Art is making me sick with his Father Knows Best routine. Berenice is at least 25 and deserves to be treated like an adult. Eva mostly treats her appropriately; she lapses occasionally. At least she is capable of recognizing that her daughters have the right to not remain virgins.

Telling Sandy about Magda is the second biggest mistake Matt's made (The first was marrying Sandy, whom he should have broken up with long before).

Thanks, Blue Lass. Appreciate your breakdown of so many important events.

This episode made me so sad and angry. I could tell that Remi was in danger with lots of foreshadowing along the way and all the farewell hugs as he prepared to leave for the city.

Poor Val--she signed his death warrant when she told Leo that Remi was going to tell her about her mother when he got back.

And Sandy! Matt should never have told her that. When she told Leo what she knew, the stage was set for damage to Mag.

Art really showed his worst side to Bere. Don't know that he had ever slapped her before.
He seems to be shredding apart under the pressure.
 

I'm assuming the Body Count just increased ?

Insults are actually worse than a slap. Paloma, you're right in that we don't know whether Art has any track record of slapping either of his daughters. However, his insulting patriarchal attitude does far more damage. I was wondering how authoritarian he was when they were younger, but I suspect he left all the childcare to Eva while he worked and cheated on her. He has no respect for women or he would not have chosen Luisa, who was far more easily abused than Eva.

What has happened to Magda is a setup for Valeria finding out from Sandy, the worst person to ever be in on this secret. We can predict she will present this information in the most humiliating way possible and I predict now that Minnie will turn against Val because her trophy value would be compromised.

The foreshadowing of Remi's fate was obvious. He had taken so many beatings already. Leo will burn in hell for this.
 

QT #75

Bere is supposedly 28 -- it came up in the argument, along with the fact that the pension belongs to Art and he has also been paying her an allowance. Chacho and Bere are going to have a hard time living on his salary as general handyman for Val, although presumably he still has his house, which should be ready to move back into at some point.

In an earlier episode, Art said something along the lines of "I should have hit you girls like I hit Luisa," which is how Bere found out the accusations were true.

I remember that. Berenice wasn't present when Art hit Luisa and Sandy was lying like a rug.

How much does Berenice earn as a teacher?

I think that the pension was supposed to become Eva's property as part of the divorce settlement and that is why the divorce hasn't happened yet. Art was trying to keep it and was therefore renegging. How long has that been going on?

ECDLP #20

- Alonso tells Amador he’s reached his limit with him and doesn’t want him at the factory anymore.
- Nazario thanks Marcelo. Lalo tells Marcelo to be careful of Amador from now on.
- Magdalena tells Lucia to stop worrying about Rebeca. Magdalena thinks Lucia is jealous that Nora is interested in Marcelo.
- Nora apologizes to Marcelo for kissing him. She tells him that she likes him but Marcelo tries to reject her.
- Rebeca talks with Mario and wants to make sure she and Nora are equally included with Lucia in Alonso’s will.
- Lucia is taking photos for the catalog when Marcelo comes to do inventory. She’s annoyed that she has to cross paths with him there.
- Magdalena and Trini talk about Rebeca. Trini thinks Magdalena should try and get closer to Rebeca.
- Rodrigo isn’t surprised that Amador was fired from the factory. He points out that Amador can’t accept that he’ll always be second best to Alonso.
- Marcelo goes to see Alonso before leaving the office. They discuss the situation with Amador. Marcelo notes that Alonso is probably still also angry about what Amador’s son did to Lucia.
- Sergio confronts Nora about her hooking up with Rodrigo and the wedding fiasco. Nora tries to deny it but Sergio concludes that she got back together with him so that no one would suspect that she was involved with Rodrigo.
- Sergio almost tells the truth to Lucia but he ultimately tells her to ask Nora.
- Nazario feels guilty about Alonso firing Amador. He doesn’t want the problem to get bigger. He knows what Amador is capable of.
- Lucia asks Nora to swear she doesn’t know why Rodrigo left her at the altar. Rebeca defends Nora. Lucia still warns Nora that if one day she finds out that Nora knew something and kept quiet she will NEVER forgive her. Nora tells Rebeca that Rodrigo told Sergio everything.
- Amador is at a bar when Vinicio arrives. Amador has a job for him. He pays him an amount upfront and says he’ll get the rest when the job is done.
- Rebeca accuses Rodrigo of trying to ruin Nora’s reputation. Rodrigo tells her that Alonso fired Amador.
- Amador tells Brigida that Alonso will regret humiliating him.
- Vinicio goes to the factory with a key.
- Marcelo tells Milagros that he got an apartment in Puebla but will go see her the following weekend.
- Brigida goes to Marcelo’s apartment and slaps him saying it’s his fault Amador was fired and that he also stole a job and Lucia from Rodrigo.
- Rebeca asks Alonso why he fired Amador. She wonders what’s going to happen now with their business partnership.
- Sergio tells Rodrigo that he told Lucia to ask Nora why Rodrigo dumped her.
- Alonso is surprised that Nazario is defending Amador. Nazario says that Amador helped Alonso make the factory successful.
- Trini visits Marcelo and introduces herself. She thanks him for defending Nazario. Trini hopes Marcelo finds a nice girl in Puebla.
- Lucia tells Alonso that she’s going to the factory but Alonso is worried because it’s late and they no longer have a night guard at the factory. Nazario offers to go with her.
- Marcelo realizes he left his laptop at the factory so he leaves to go get it.
- Rebeca tells Alonso she doesn’t agree with Amador’s firing either. He tells her that Lucia and Nazario went to the factory. Rebeca asks if he’s thinking of having only Lucia inherit the factory. Marcelo calls Alonso.
- Lucia and Nazario go inside to the courtyard of the factory. Nazario tells her that Alonso fired Amador. He also mentions that Marcelo defended him (N) against Amador.
- Nazario discovers something spilled in the storeroom. When he turns on the light the bulb explodes causing a spark and a fire. Lucia stands helpless outside the storeroom.

ECDLP #20

Gracias, TF. Lots of things happening in this episode.

Brigida has some bloody nerve. Rodrigo would never be able to get Lucia back after that public humiliation. Since he was a substandard worker in the bargain this was all Alonso needed to terminate him. Brigida has her head in the sand she can't be told otherwise.

As opposed to Rebecca who knows that Nora is a psycho and intentionally says nothing to anyone about it. Where she is blind is in the idea that Nora deserves to work at Dad's company. Nora openly tells people she doesn't want to work, so what use would she be?

We know how that fire started. Amador will have to pay dearly for this.
