ACUERDAS Episode 54 Seek and You Shall Find – Secrets Beyond Your Wildest Dreams

Previously: Vera confronts Fausto and asks if he had Tomas killed. A frustrated Fausto assures Vera that he did not. He does deflect by asking Vera to consider who it was that stayed with the company after Tomas’ murder. Who was the one person who profited from Tomas’ death? Who took Tomas’s son after the murder of his father? There is only one answer, one possibility and the guilty one is Olmo! Tomas and he may not have seen eye to eye on everything, but Olmo’s betrayal shocked them both. Olmo got rid of both of them and funded the company with their deaths! Olmo’s dirty dealings continue and his partner is El Chamaco!

Ivana, looking like the cat who ate the canary is strutting her stuff outside when to her surprise, El Chamaco’s SUV appears. As his henchman help Ivana into the car, a black hood is put over her head.

Never one to waste one precious moment, Faby immediately goes to Ivana’s room, rummaging through a drawer and pulling out the gift Octavio gave her. It is a clipping of Ivana with a note that reads: New things can always be found in the past.

Alicia runs into Lola at Teo’s apartment. Initially bestowing one of her trademark condescending, haughty looks, Alicia mistakenly thinks that Teo is bisexual which Lola refutes, explaining she is only living there with Teo. By way of introduction, Lola announces she is one who is unlucky in love, unemployed and in short, has everything going wrong. Alicia retorts that with that attitude, it is no wonder that things don’t go well for her!

Alicia took Lola shopping and pack mule Lola is laden with bags. Alicia hopes that Lola can help her with her grandson. After Lola assures her that Teo will get over his anger, Alicia thinks that Teo is mesmerized with that attorney who misinterpreted everything she said. Lola suggests that if they are going to be friends, Alicia will have to remove her victim mask because it just isn’t working. Lola already heard Teo’s side and thinks that Teo’s anger is justified. Lola again reassures Alicia that Teo will get over it because he loves her. Alicia must leave because she has to go see Rodolfo (hmm). Before leaving, Alicia tells Lola that she doesn’t want to see her sad because of Julio...she reminds Lola that it is the woman who rule! She and Lola blow kisses and smile.

Gaston is doing lawn calesthenics when Pedro arrives. Gaston mistakenly thinks Pedro is there to get him released. That isn’t the case - Pedro is only there because Marina is having an affair with someone she met there and he is very concerned. He wants Gaston to ask the other patients about Andres; surely some will know him. Pedro also tells Gaston that he needs his help in accessing the dead files on the foundation of the company.

Marina gets flowers and then a call a call from Andres. Marina tells him they should no longer see each other. When Andres asks if Pedro mentioned something since Pedro had a talk with him, Marina thinks Pedro got jealous. One step forward and three steps back.

Gabe and Laiza are on their honeymoon, Gabe waxing enthusiastically as Laiza grabs her head in agony. Laiza can’t go to dinner – she is in terrible pain and tells him she needs to see a doctor (as she packs her bag). As they have only been there two days out of the two weeks they booked, Gabe is upset. Uncharacteristically, Gabe does not seem concerned about Laiza’s head pain. Laiza wonders at this lack of concern (and Viewerville does as well).

Pedro tells Teo that Gaston agreed to help him get access to the files but not until he gets out of the hospital. When Teo insists that they need the info ASAP, Pedro tells him they will need to be patient. Unfortunately, Teo’s patience has evaporated.

Vera goes to see Teo because she saw him arguing with Pedro. Teo confides that he may be back on the job but he has a lot of restrictions and can’t investigate. When he adds that Pedro is ambivalent about investigating, Vera thinks Pedro is probably afraid of what he will find about his family. Vera then asks if Teo saw the video; Teo remarks that Pedro is obsessed with it.

Vera suggests that perhaps Olmo was the one who killed Tomas. When she asks what they expect to find in the files, Teo explains that they want to find where the dirty business originated. However, they need Gaston’s help and as he is in rehab, he can’t assist. Vera deduces that Teo didn’t really want his job back; he just wanted to be able to investigate. Teo admits that if Gonzo doesn’t have anything concrete, he can’t do anything. Vera then tells Teo that the one behind the dirty business is El Chamaco.

Alberto tells Olmo that Ramiro got the license plates of one of Fausto’s men, but Ramiro was attacked and Tadeo ended up dead. Olmo thinks that Fausto will end up at whichever morgue Tadeo will be taken to; so he tells Alberto to follow the corpse which will lead them to Fausto. When they do, they will kill him.

The morgue employees have been bought so Jacinto and Fausto get immediate access. Fausto enters the lab where Tadeo is laid out. Fausto pulls back Tadeo’s shirt to reveal the bullet wound. He says his name, pain apparent, as Jacinto listens. Fausto swears that he will kill whoever did this to him and puts a chess piece into Tadeo’s hand. Jacinto and Fausto manage to leave the lab with split second timing, just as Alberto, Olmo and Silvio arrive. They pull out and as the car is shot at but nothing hits the mark.

Fausto thanks Jacinto and tells him he will need him full time (as his army of one has been decimated). Jacinto needs to go home, get his things and say goodbye to his wife. Inside, Olmo gets the chess piece and recalls that Fausto always played chess. He tells Alberto that they should be close by, they can’t have gotten far and orders him to go after them. Olmo asks if it was Fausto; Alberto is not sure.

Faby runs to Octavio’s and shoves the perfumed scarf in his face. She angrily wonders if the perfume reminds him of someone? Octavio shakes his head. Faby rants that her mother’s actions do not surprise her but she expected more from him. Faby chides Octavio for getting close to her. She feels stupid and says between clenched teeth that he never cared about her...the only thing he wanted was for her to open the door to her mother. He used her! Octavio again tries to explain but Faby continues that he took advantage of her uncle’s kidnapping to get into their house and seduce Ivana. Octavio tells her that what he and Ivana have is much more complicated and assure he that he did not take advantage of anyone, especially Faby! When Faby’s hysteria escalates, Octavio tells her the truth she is not prepared to hear: “I am your real father.”

Faby cries even harder as she wonders why they would lie to her. Octavio knows that this is like having a glass of cold water being thrown on her, but he IS telling her the truth; he is her father. He is sorry that he hadn’t told her before but he promised her mother he would not reveal it. Octavio then tells her that Alberto and Ivana got married before she was born. They kept him from her because he didn’t fit in with the family. Her uncle convinced her mother that he was not worthy of her love. Faby cries and mentions that her mother has kept her from seeing her boyfriend because he doesn’t deserve her. Octavio remarks that the Casares will pay a high price to keep their status.

Faby reproaches Octavio for leaving her. Octavio counters with another grim truth – he didn’t even know Faby existed until a few months ago. Her mother is totally different from the one he knew.

Faby feels like she is in a movie. She can’t believe that he didn’t know about her. Octavio tells her that Olmo not only kept him away from her mother, he sent him far away and cut off all means of communication. He never imagined that the reason Ivana left him was because she was going to have a baby so he had no reason to look for Faby. After Faby comments that he suddenly appeared at her school, Octavio relates how he asked Ivana a thousand times if she was his daughter and Ivana denied it every time. He had to make sure...so he went to the school. But he couldn’t just come out and say that he was her father; she already has a father and Octavio just wanted to protect her. Faby then points out that he went and slept with her mother and wonders if that too was to protect her. After Octavio tells her that he doesn’t want to replace her father; he just wants to be a part of his life, Faby has had enough. She wants to leave and asks him not to look for her or try to keep her there.

A hooded Ivana has arrived to her destination -outside in a dark, gloomy setting with smoke swirling from the car lights. As the hood is removed, Ivana tells El Chamaco she was getting claustrophobic. Chamaco tells her that she looks good with her hair messed up...and she looks beautiful. He grabs her and starts kissing her. Ivana’s expression is stern as she pushes him away, reminding him that they are there to do business. The red lights of the SUV makes her appear fiendish as the trunk is opened, filled to capacity with money.

Next Ivana is “home” and staring stonily, shows Olmo the “take”. Olmo holds Ivana close, intoxicated by the money. Olmo tells Ivana that it is only money; she shouldn’t be afraid of it. He is very proud of her. He hugs her a bit too long as Vera watches covertly from inside the house.

The next day Andres wakes Marina with kisses, murmuring “good morning”. Any illusion that Marina is similarly enraptured is shattered when Marina wonders out loud why she did this again. Andres tells her that she is only putting herself first and that is exactly what she should be doing since Pedro is doing it too. Marina insists that she isn’t like that. Andres assures he that she already admitted it to her family so she is doing things right. Marina responds that she isn’t sure she can continue because she can’t get Pedro out of her head or her heart...and even more so since Pedro reproached Andres.

Andres senses that Marina has room In her heart for someone else. Marina wonders why she has this need to have Pedro...it’s as though her brain commands that she do everything humanly possible to keep Pedro with he – orders she cannot disobey.

Vera spirits Nico away to visit Pedro. Pedro is so excited to see them and swings Nico in the air joyously.

We next see Faby with the man she had thought was her father her entire life. She questions Alberto as to why he is giving her a gift. Alberto just wants her to know that the necklace signifies she is the star of his life...and he has noticed that she has been distant since he came back home. Faby tells him that she knows who her mother’s lover is. Faby guesses that Alberto already knew and wonders what is wrong with him! She would think that if he knew that Octavio is her mother’s amante, he would do something about it! When Alberto tells her that the man is not important and will soon disappear from their lives, Faby blurts out, “I’m not sure about that! That man cannot disappear from our lives because he is my biological father!” Ivana rushes over and asks what is happening.

Faby demands that Ivana admit it, but Alberto tells her to stop. This is something that he and her mother should discuss by themselves. He asks Faby to leave but Faby thinks she should stay because this is a family issue. Ivana thinks otherwise and pushes Faby away. Alberto and Ivana start arguing. When Alberto asks who Faby’s father is, Ivana finally admits that Octavio is Faby’s father. Alberto loses it and thinks that Ivana and Olmo have been planning to take everything thing from him. He continues that he has always made her and Faby his priority... he has done everything thing to protect her! Ivana shouts that she has never denied that...to her, Alberto is Faby’s father!

Olmo comes out asking what is going on. Alberto thinks that Olmo knew the truth all along. Olmo doesn’t deny it and tells Alberto not to yell because Faby is listening. Alberto now understands why Olmo sent Ivana to sleep with Octavio and refuses to be Olmo’s puppet anymore!

Teo and Gonzo are waiting for Alicia to have dinner. Viewerville hopes no one is actually hungry as dinner with this trio has a history of disaster. But Gonzo is game. He only agreed because he got tired of Lola’s nagging. Alicia and Lola arrive and Teo quickly reminds Alicia that she has something to say. Alicia finally apologizes. After Gonzo accepts her apology, they are joined by another guest - Rodolfo. The patio quickly senses this May/December romance was not quite made in heaven. Obviously, Alicia is under an entirely different impression.

Things get tense so Lola asks Rodolfo to tell them about Botswana. When Rodolfo asks what Gonzo does, Gonzo replied that he is an attorney who specializes in investigating criminal financing...which could be used to fund a safari to Africa. Alicia suggests that Gonzo doesn’t have to be on the attack because there are people who are honest.

After Alicia and Rodolfo leave, Teo apologizes because his grandmother just won’t change. Lola thinks that In Alicia’s universe this was equivalent to an apology. Gonzo has a bad feeling about Rodolfo as Alicia pays his way. Lola kids that Alicia puts in the money while Rodolfo puts in his youth. Gonzo wants to know what Rodolfo’s intentions are since the photos he showed them seemed fake...even the watch he wore was screaming “gi-go-lo”! Gonzo then calls Romeo for a favor.

Emilia tríes to stop Jacinto from leaving. Jacinto thinks he is only doing what Emilia wanted. Emilia tells him that she thought he cared about his family; if he leaves, she will also take him out of her heart.

Delia serves Laiza tea and offers a sympathetic, loving ear. Laiza tells her mother that nothing is going right - even her honeymoon was a disaster. She can’t get rid of her headache and now nausea is setting in. Delia thinks it’s just a migraine caused by stress. Delia tells her that she has already gotten rid of Ramiro and Gaston.

Ramiro approaches Alberto’s car as it makes its way through the gate. He had no other recourse since Fausto ordered Tadeo to attack him. When Alberto tells him that Tadeo is dead, Ramiro tells him that there was another man who seemed sort of a nitwit and not too good at this...but if it weren’t for him, Ramiro would be dead. Alberto shows him a picture of Jass and Ramiro confirms that it was him. He asks for protection but Alberto runs him off.

Laiza tells Delia that she should be careful with Olmo...he is not who he appears to be. When Delia questions why she is saying that, Laiza confides that on the day of her wedding Olmo, wasn’t there to wish her good luck, he actually threatened her to keep away from Gaston. Delia looks extremely upset.

Pedro calls Olmo who hopes that he is calling to tell him that he and Marina are back together, but nopis, Pedro is calling because he went to see Gaston and Pedro thinks Gaston is ready to leave the rehab center...he already learned his lesson. After Olmo hangs up on him, Mélida enters Olmo’s office to continue to solidify her place in the family. She heard what he said about marriages. It seems that marriages tend to fall apart after a few years. She fears that the same could happen to her...and she doesn’t want her baby to end up unprotected. Olmo knows where she is going with this and assures her that together, they will fix this. Our eyebrows arch upwardly.

Gonzo finds out that Rodolfo is using an alias and is a fraud...and his targets are older women like Alicia.

Fausto’s attorney arrives and tells Fausto that he just needs several signatures to complete the legal changing of Fausto’s name to Raul Bernal. Jass presents a briefcase loaded with money.

Pedro tells Gaston that Olmo refused to allow him to leave. Gaston relates that he found out that Andres was there because there was an accident where his wife and children died...and it is believed that it was no accident. When Pedro asks if it is just gossip, Gaston tells him it is Pedro’s job now to confirm it. But Andres has tried to commit suicide several times and is on the border of an abyss... he can’t be with Marina.

Alicia gets out of bed and goes to take a shower. Rodolfo jumps up, opening and emptying the safe of money and jewelry. Alicia reappears and catches him. He tells her that he is only taking his payment for sleeping with a crazy old woman. She curses and picks up her phone as he pulls out a gun, threatening to put a hole in her nice skin…

Was anyone else surprised at Alicia? It was hard to believe she didn't have Rodolfo fully investigated. I suspect that with her outsize ego, she never considered she might be desired for what she had rather than who she was.

At least she apologized to Gonzo. Gonzo was very chivalrous defending her even after she treated him so shabbily. Gonzo is definitely a keeper!!

Teo isn't exactly a ball of fire but at least Gonzo's intuition led to the little rodent's intentions being discovered. I'm wondering if he will just scatter away or if Alicia will need to be rescued?

Glad that things are ramping up but sad that so many relationships are in turmoil.

It would be nice if Laiza's headaches are really just due to stress, wouldn't it? I am really afraid as to what the diagnosis will be.

Diana, I think we both have seen one too many novelas to think that Laiza is only having a migraine as Delia suggested. Guess we haven’t had enough “hospital time” with patients “struggling between life and death !!!” in this novela. I think “La fea más bella” is the only novela I have ever seen without severeillness/hospital time. Just another reason why I love it. 😊

Jarifa, yes, "if only" Laiza's illness could be quickly and successfully treated.

What is particularly heinous is that Laiza is Delia's only child. I cannot imagine what it would be like for a parent to lose any child, whether the only one or one of many. Still it seems so terribly unfair. Laiza has just started to live, with so much promise ahead...

Lola's personality is infectious and she charmed Alicia instantly. I was happy to see that they bonded.

Now that Gonzo will likely receive Alicia's approval, he and Teo can ramp up their pursuit of Olmo.

Rosa. Of course, after I criticized the quality of the Rosa de Guadalupe episodes, last night there was a kind of sweet one--about a young teacher who helps out a man with 2 young children, whose wife/mother is in a coma in the hospital. With the blessing of the spirit of the dying wife, Maestra Tamara ends up marrying her widower and having an additional child. Not particularly "realistic," but still pretty heart warming.
 

Embajador #38 part 1

Nare and Melek sit out in front of their house. Nare explains to her daughter, your dad’s mother is sick, and he may not be able to visit us right now. If I got sick, would you be able to leave me? Melek answers, I don’t want you to explain my emotions. Nare tells her the correct word is explore and I’m not exploring your emotions. Well, that’s how Melek sees it. She stubbornly states, my dad will come and I’ll wait for him. Nare is still trying to get Melek to eat. Do what you want, can we have something to eat while we wait? You haven’t eaten all day. Melek stands firm, I’m not going to eat until my dad comes.

Sancar pulls up to the house. Dad is here! Melek runs to the car. Sancar smiles at the sight of his daughter. His copy of Othello is on the passenger seat and he quickly picks it up and stuffs it into his pocket. Sancar gets out of the car and picks up his daughter. Lots of hugs and kisses, a very happy reunion. Nare’s looking nervous. He carries Melek into the yard, and he smiles at Nare. Thank you for letting Elvan stay, he says.

Melek says she told her mom to wait for you to have dinner. I’m sure she told you I wouldn’t come, he says. Melek turns to her mother and says, see? My father is here. He carries her into the house without another word to Nare. I’m starving, he says. Nare looks a bit perplexed.

Sancar sits at the cardboard box table. What a beautiful table, he tells Melek. Melek says that’s what Gediz said. Nare comes to the table. He asks Nare, so now Gediz is having dinner with you? Nare does not answer that question, she says the food is getting cold and those that are calm, they can go home. Melek doesn’t understand this phrase [neither do I, and if someone does, please explain] Sancar says it’s something he taught her mother.

Nare serves the pizza. She looks annoyed. Melek forgot the flowers for the table. While she’s gone Sancar quickly says, we won’t be calm until you tell me why you stabbed Akin. Let me make that clear. Let’s avoid problems. Melek puts the flowers on the table, and they start eating. Nare doesn’t look very hungry. I guess she knows what’s waiting for her.

Muge gets a call from Akin. Muge? My darling. She says nothing. Uh, I know you’re angry but let me explain, he says. If you knew what happened, you would understand. I know it won’t be easy for you to forgive me and you are right, but this is an emergency and I need your help. Do you think you can put your anger aside? I promise to make things right, my love. Kerem is listening at Akin’s door.

Muge finally speaks, tell me how I can help you. Akin says, my love I missed your voice and for a moment. I believed that you would not answer me. Muge is quietly listening, her emotions simmering below the surface. I don’t have much time, so I’ll get to the point. I need to find Nare. Is it true she returned to Mugla? Muge tells him it’s not true. Are you sure? Maybe you could call her, he asks? Nare is not in Turkey, she says. I know Nare is in Mugla, he says, I don’t know you, this isn’t like you. Don’t lie to me. Don’t you trust me anymore?

Muge lets him have it: haven’t I already lied to everyone for you, Akin? Why do you say you don’t know me? Haven’t I been this way for years? There are many things that fit me. Like being treated like a fool or being used. But even better, is that you have forgotten me after having used me. That’s totally me.

Akin calmly says it looks like Nare has already told her lies and you believed them. And speaking of Iies, says Muge, you are perfect for that. She raises her voice, I saw you lying on the floor, covered in blood. And after that, I’m not going to believe a single word, understand?

Embajador #38 part 2

Akin begins to panic. You saw the video, Muge? Did anyone else see it? Did Sancar see it? Tell me. Muge laughs. Akin is desperate to know, he starts shouting. Answer me, Muge! Tell me if Sancar saw the video! Answer me! Did Sancar see the video?! Muge replies, I hope you rot in hell! She throws her phone and gasps.

Akin is freaked out. Kerem runs from his door and pretends he just entered the house. We are going to Turkey, he tells Kerem. Kerem reminds Akin that he’s wanted in Turkey and they are watching his house. Akin says he has a fake ID and so much money in Switzerland, he could buy ten more houses. Kerem smiles, he’s probably thinking he could use this to his advantage.

Melek and Sancar are in a room. She tells her dad she wants everything to be white and have lots of colors. Why so many colors, Sancar asks? Pick one and we will get started, he says. What if we pick the color of the sun? Like my princess? Nice try dad, it won’t work, she replies. I want lots of colors. He laughs. She makes a list of colors. But mostly, she wants white. If its too much work, she says, I will help you. So you think your dad can’t paint, he asks? She tells him she doesn’t want pink or black.

Nare brings Sancar tea made with a bag. Nare tells Melek that her father will paint later, he’s busy now. You have to work, Melek asks? Sancar tells his daughter that nothing is more important than her. He rejects the bag tea and hands it back to Nare [lol]. Melek says, ok you’re not busy, so you can help us paint my room. Of course, he replies. Nare’s not very pleased. Nare asks Sancar to come with her. They step outside.

She sighs. My daughter made space in our closet for your clothes. What? Melek thinks the three of us could be a family again. She has done much against me. Sancar had no idea. Nare continues, my daughter dreams of seeing her father who is a married man and lives with his wife. Sancar must admit that part is true. Nare adds, and to make me talk you come to my house, that you shouldn’t have entered, and you use the pretext of seeing Melek. That’s enough, don’t do it, Sancar!

Sancar says that’s ridiculous. He would never use his daughter to make her talk. He came to see Melek because he misses her. But since you bring up the subject, he says, tell me why you stabbed Akin. Nare says, instead of asking me, find the truth on your own if you care so much. Exactly the reason he went to Switzerland he tells her. Do you think I won’t go to Montenegro? Do you plan to go there, Nare nervously asks? I think so, he replies. What are you afraid of, he asks? What am I going to find there? Don’t keep quiet, okay? What happened in Montenegro for you to leave?

She’s startled and looks at him and says, Othello? He takes the book out of his pocket. She is astonished. I read the parts you underlined, he says. I wasn’t going to ask anything, I was going to find the answers myself. But after reading it, I had to ask you one last time. There is no turning back because I will not stop until I find the truth. Melek has come to the door and listens in. This time, I will listen to you. What if it’s too late, she says.

No, Nare, please tell me what happened in Montenegro. Why did you come back? Answer me. She hesitates and Melek comes out. I’m very tired, she tells her mom, come inside I want to go to bed. Good night dad, I’ll see you tomorrow. You better go, Nare tells him. He nods. They walk him out front. He kisses Melek good bye, tells Nare good night and leaves. Melek asks her mom, did I come at the right time? You didn’t tell dad why You stabbed Akin, right? Nare hugs and kisses her daughter and says forgive me, daughter. I’m sorry.

Embajador #38 part 3

Next morning, Sancar has brought paint to Nare’s house. He tells Melek he has brought all the colors she asked for and then some. Melek is thrilled. I love you, dad. Dad loves her, too. Nare says what will you do with all this paint. Paint of course, Sancar says. First breakfast, Nare tells Melek. Sancar has brought food. We just have to make tea, he says, and Elvan sends you this. It’s the teapot.

Nare appreciates all Sancar’s doing but she’s worried he is getting Melek’s hopes up. Sancar wants to finish their talk today. He doesn’t want to spend another sleepless night.
Kerem shows up at Guven’s door. What are you doing here, Guven asks? You called me the other day and I’m here to discuss that, Kerem replies. Did you find Akin? I won’t answer that for 50K euros. What? Akin is looking for Nare everywhere and he’s willing to spend his fortune. You only want to pay me 50K, Kerem says, I know you don’t have money, you spent it all gambling. Guven is offended and calls Kerem arrogant.

Kerem continues, Isn’t the man looking for Akin the same man who looked for his daughter in Montenegro? It’s Sancar if I remember, right? Guven snaps, if you think to look for him on your own…Kerem says, so it’s true. Thanks ambassador, have a nice day. Guven calls him back. You can make a lot of money if you work with me. With you, Kerem asks?

Akin is on a stakeout at the Efeoglu mansion. Yahya and Kavruk drive by and he lays low.
Elvan packs her things. Where are you going to stay, Yahya asks? With the only person who doesn’t want to see me living on the streets, Elvan replies, I’ll stay with Nare. Yahya threatens, if you go to the ambassador’s daughter, I won’t let you come back, you will never return, Elvan.

Elvan says, ever since the day you kicked me out of the mansion, I swore I would never come back to this place again. She takes her things out to the hallway. Halise is there with Menekse, Gulsiye and Zehra. Elvan addresses Halise, it looks like the bride who entered here in her wedding dress can leave without mourning. No one else speaks. Elvan goes. Everyone looks upset.

Nare serves tea the proper way [lol]. The walls have been painted white and Melek is anxious to start with the colors. She asks her father to open the buckets. Nare joins in, too. Melek puts her hand in the green paint an makes a couple of handprints on the wall. I want everything to be full of colors, she says, can we paint with our hands? Can we do this?

Of course, Nare says, we can paint our house as we want. Nare makes a purple print. Melek makes a yellow one next. Sancar watches lovingly. They make more colorful handprints. Melek says, dad? Can I pick blue for your hand? Sancar and Nare look at each other. He starts to make an excuse but Melek interrupts him, it’s not a family without a dad and it’s not home if your hand isn’t there.

Nare starts to speak but Melek interrupts her, too. I know mom. I know he can’t stay here. I know his clothes will not be in the closet and he won’t have a towel in the bath. His shoes won’t be by the door. But can’t he leave his handprint here? That way we can be a family. Sancar looks at the handprints and puts his hand in the blue paint. He makes his handprint above the others, and he admires the wall. Melek is happy. Sancar looks at Nare. She’s uncomfortable.

There’s a knock at the door. It must be Elvan, Sancar says. Sancar says to let Melek stay with her and we can go speak. Zehra has brought Elvan. Of course, Nare invites them both in for tea. Not what Sancar wanted to hear. Sancar tells Elvan and Zehra to make a quick greeting to Melek and leave the rest for later. He needs to talk to the ambassador’s daughter. What a welcome, Elvan says. Zehra must go back to the mansion anyway to take care of Halise.

Elvan is in shock when she sees the wall with handprints. Sancar tells Melek to explain while he talks to her mom.

Embajador #38 part 4

Sancar and Nare resume their conversation. Why did you stab him? Enough is enough, Nare answers. She tells him, I do not ask you questions that you are not able to answer. So asks me now, Sancar says. She doesn’t want to ask him anything. It’s been a long time since she has asked him why. He insists that she ask her question and she resists.

She explodes, why the hell did you get married? Answer that question! I know why you kicked me out. I never forgave you and I know I never will! What puzzles me is why did you get married? How could you do that to us?

Akin was right, he says. What? Did you come because you knew I was getting married, he asks? She answers with a question, Akin told you that? Sancar tells her, he said you came to stop the wedding and he tried to stop you and that’s why you stabbed him. You talked to him, she asks? Don’t worry about that, he replies, is it true you came to prevent my wedding? Why would you do that?

Maybe I was curious, she says. About what? About everything. If you were really going to sign the marriage certificate, if you would take the ribbon off, if you would remove Menekse’s veil! She slaps him on the chest and makes a red handprint. I wanted to know if you were capable of betraying me!

Five minutes. You could have arrived earlier. Five damn minutes! He’s got tears in his eyes. He shouts, five minutes would have been more than enough! Before the wedding, Nare asks? Yes, Nare, tell me why you didn’t show up before the wedding! I’m going crazy! Don’t, she says, it will not be what we wanted. I tried and it didn’t work.

She walks away, then turns back. By the way, she says, I’ll continue working at the marina. I don’t care about the conditions set by a married man. She leaves. [well played Nare] He’s crying. He looks at the red handprint. [He may be little hopeful because she said she wanted to stop the wedding.]

Zehra is driving and sees a stranded motorist. She stops, gets out of her car and approaches him. Hello? The man turns around--it’s that rat bastard Akin. Can I help you, Zehra asks? He limps towards her and she is surprised. He asks her, my spare isn’t good can I have yours? Zehra stares at his legs. Didn’t they teach you good manners, he says, it’s rude to stare that way. Zehra says he got it wrong, she wasn’t looking at his legs at all. He smiles at her. The tire, he asks. She pops her trunk open and tells him the spare and the tools are in there. She smiles as she watches him limp away. He has that evil smirk on his face.

Sancar and Nare are back in the house in one of the rooms. He sighs and says, Melek won’t be able to hear us. He’s not leaving until they talk, and he won’t let her out. He closes and locks the door. She panics. Open the door, she says, I have a phobia. Sancar complies, okay, okay, I’ll open the door. He asks her, you’re not scared of me, are you? You know I could never hurt you. Don’t be afraid. Nare knows he never would. She shuts the door.

She thinks back to when they were younger. Won’t you kiss me…as if we were a couple? He replies, ambassador’s daughter, once we get married, I’ll breathe through your lips. I promise. You are the love of my life, he says, I am yours forever. He kisses he on the forehead.

Do you remember that thing you said when we were young, she asks? That you would marry me. Sancar sits and laughs. I was stupid, he says, I was so sure. He smiles at her, wistfully. Nare sits next to him. He looks at her with loving eyes, from her bare feet to her face. A nice calm moment.

Embajador #38 part 5

Nare looks at him and says, but what do we do? You married another woman. He sighs and says, you and I got married, too, and we are the parents of a daughter. Nare doesn’t want to remember that night. We do have a daughter, she says, but we separated. It’s over. She asks, can you accept it so we can get on with our lives? He asks her if she has accepted it’s over. Yes. Really, he asks, when did you accept it? A long time ago, she replies, when we separated. You mean when I left you, he says.

Sancar is confused and frustrated. He tells Nare she has said so many things that he can’t distinguish what is true and what is a lie.

We see a brief flashback: Nare asks Sancar, have you forgotten me?

He tells Nare, you say you forgot me, but you showed up on my wedding day to ask if I had forgotten about you. Akin said he tried to stop you and you stabbed him. You never denied it, and then you reproached me for having married. Now you tell me it’s over. She says nothing.

The lies end today, Sancar says. He asks, why was Akin looking for Isabel? What? Akin was there? Yes, he went to Switzerland. He went after Isabel. But Isabel didn’t tell me, Nare says. She had no idea, Sancar replies, I got there in time to stop him and took him down. That’s why I got arrested. Nare is stunned. Sancar moves closer. He asks, what was Akin doing in Switzerland?

She doesn’t answer and he raises his voice, answer please! Tell me the truth! I’ll eventually find out! He was looking for you, just like me, right?

And we are out.

I am always looking for Spanish language content, so I took Univision up on their free “Prende TV” and downloaded the app. It was also available on Roku. It was a pleasant surprise with many movies, tv shows from all over the Spanish speaking world as well as some of our favorite novelas like MMTF, and STuD. I started watching an oldie but a goodie comedy “Los exitosos Pérez” (with Jaime Camil, a very young José Ron, Ludwika Paleta, Rogelio Guerra and Véronica Castro) for a few good laughs. It is always nice to have options. 😊

I guess we will have to wait until the finale of solving the misdirection (by the writers) as to who killed Antonia (mother of Vera) and who killed Tomas (biological father of Pedro). Oddly enough Fausto has given enough clues to Vera that he did not kill Pedro's father but of course Fausto did murder her mother! Eddy knows who killed Antonia; he was an eyewitness. Ramiro knows who tried to kill Fausto on Olmo's orders. Like all things Ramiro is involved in, he failed. If Ramiro is killed, who could offer proof that it was Olmo who ordered Fausto's attempted murder? The poetic justice would be for Fausto and Olmo to kill each other. Jacinto's days are numbered.

Fe, to all of your yes/no questions, I am speculating (no spoiler) that the answer is yes to all except perhaps the one involving Andres. I think he is grief stricken and do believe the accident was just that. As we are speeding down the track in full throttle, I do think the rest of your questions will be answered shortly.

Anon, thank you! Good point about who would be left to implicate Olmo if Ramiro dies. There is Fausto himself of course. Fausto and Olmo should cancel each other out! I know I'm likely alone but wish things had gone differently for Jacinto. Yes, he is living on borrowed time.

I !oved the scene of Melek, Nare, and San putting tbeir colorful handprints on the wall.. All together making a fun collage . Melek was so clever to come up with this way to represent the three as a family. That scene really got to me.

Some surpries ...evil Akin meeting an unsuspecting Zehra. I had to look twice to make sure it was him....the shorter hair and casual clothes. ...and the limp. Akin is evil personified

Zehra is trusting and has no clue who the despicable Akin is. Hope he doesn't do anything to harm her...maybe he's looking for another mole to plant inside of Sancar's nest. At any rate, once Sancar finds out he's breathing the same air as his sis...let alone using her...he's gonna give Akin a double beat down....after all, the taser stopped him in Switzerland.

I get that Nare has told Sancar the dirty details but for him to continue to let Akin make him doubt her is so annoying. He hasn't learned anything from Othello ...yet.

However, Muge appears to get it now. She's called Akin a 100 times and when he finally calls her back...his first concern is for Nare..not Muge. Hopefully there' nothing else he can say to win her back and she uses her professional senses to stay clear of him. Also hopes she warns the gang that Akin is in town. She's got see that he's only there for Nare...and Nare needs to be aware he's in town so she can watch her back. Muge can't sit on that important info...no matter how jealous she is .

ACUERDAS, Ep. 55: Let That Bomb Explode! Part 1
There are things we don’t want to happen but have to accept, things we don’t want to know but have to learn, and people we can’t live without but have to let go. –Unknown

Previously: Alicia catches Rodolfo trying to steal from her. He tells her that this is payment for having to sleep with a crazy old woman, When she tries to call for help, Rodolfo pulls a gun on her and threatens to put a hole in Alicia’s nice skin unless she drops the phone.

Ivana demands to talk to Faby, but Faby refuses because Ivana has created a world of lies; Faby doesn’t want her to talk to her ever again!

Gonzo comes to the rescue and arrests Rodolfo!

Melida goes to see Gas. When she sees Pedro, she wonders if Gas he is trying to use his brother to get out, but Melida has a better idea to get him out…they should get married right now! She even brought a judge since she has a signed order from Olmo so that Gas can leave but only if he is married to her.

Ivana feels liberated that the truth has come out. Olmo tells her that the timing was bad since he needs Alberto right now. Vera quietly approaches and listen from behind the door as Ivana comments that they can’t be distracted with those issues especially now that El Chamaco is sending carloads of money. Olmo tells her to be careful because that money is no good…and not all of it will be theirs.

Alberto catches Jass and threatens him, pointing his gun at Jas’s head. Alberto knows that he works for Fausto and that he and Tadeo attacked Ramiro. So Jass better cooperate or he will join his friend at the morgue.

Melida and Gaston get married (viewerville rolls their eyes). Melida is looking forward to living a happy life…the three of them!

Vera goes snooping and takes pictures of the money in the vehicle. She quickly hides when Ivana comes out.

Pedro arrives as Andres is necking with Marina. After accusations and reproaches are thrown every which way, Andres reminds Pedro that they are no longer a couple. Pero tells them that he is there as Marina’s brother. Pedro came to tell Marina that she may not be safe with Andres…he knows how Andres’s family died and that Andres has tried to commit suicide several times.

Delia confronts Olmo…she knows he threatened Laiza. When Olmo denies it, Delia backs up Laiza who is intelligent enough to know when she is being threatened. Olmo wants to have a drink but Delia refuses because friends don’t threaten each other’s children.

Marina tells Pedro that she knows everything about him and Vera. Pedro gets his duh look. He wonders if she threatened Vera when they were at the stables. All this time he thought he had to protect her but he was wrong. He wants to put the cards on the table. Their marriage is over but that doesn’t mean that he won’t continue to protect her.

Jass takes Alberto to see Fausto. Alberto tells Fausto that he is Olmo’s right hand man and he wants to do away with him!

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 55: Let That Bomb Explode! Part 2

Vera calls Fausto and tells him that he was right about Olmo being involved in dirty business but it is a much bigger operation than he thought.

Alberto tells Fausto that he has been a faithful dog to Olmo for years, but his time has come. He has ended his ties with all of the Casares. Fausto finds it hard to believe.

Andres tells Pedro that Marina deserves to have a man who loves her and will be faithful to her. He admits to Marina that when his family died, he went through hell and he did try to commit suicide several times. He assures Pedro that it was an accident and he checked himself into the hospital, not because he was crazy but because he was depressed. He then turns to Marina and tells her that thanks to her, his life has a purpose.

Fausto tells Alberto that if he wants to destroy the monster he needs to do it from the inseide…he needs to continue being Olmo’s right hand man or he will be of no use..

Melida tells Gas that she wasn’t looking for a ring, just respect and that he stop seeing that little cook.


Olmo tells Delia that Gas doesn’t deserve Laiza. Her daughter would be in danger with him. When Delia reminds him that Laiza had already made up her mind…she knows the real reason Olmo didn’t want Laiza with Gas…Laiza cannot be a Casares because she belongs to a lower social class.

Melida reminds Gas that they have a signed contract and if he messes up she will have him tested for drugs and alcohol every day until the test comes out positive. At that point, he would lose custody of his child and she would make him pay for everything that he signed.

Alicia has change of heart! Alicia admits to Gonzo that she has been inconsiderate and judgmental…she is like a mummy, but she is also one to learn things; and today she learned not to prejudge. She sincerely asks Gonzo to forgive her which he does…Group hug!

Faby wonders if Ivana has another date with her lover, Octavio, her bio dad. Ivana insists that Alberto is her father. When she adds that Octavio was a mistake, Faby wonders if she was a mistake too. She then asks if Ivana still loves Octavio.

Andres assures Pedro that he will take care of Marina. Marian wonders if Pedro doesn’t feel a tiny bit jealous or if he feels anything for her. She tries to kiss him but Pedro pushes her away. He tells her that he loves her but not as husband…he apologizes for what he did to her.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 55: Let That Bomb Explode! Part 3

Vera looks sad and tells Nico that it’s because tomorrow will be his grandmother’s birthday. Olmo comes in and suggests that Delia organize a celebration like the one they do for Alma. When he adds that it is a Casares tradition, Vera retorts that her mother is not a Casares! Olmo is appalled that she would dare to say that! He wonders if Vera’s mother is better than his family…he has given her everything since they got married. When he adds that he offered to give his name to Nico, Nico blurts out that he doesn’t want Olmo as a father…he is mean and yells at his mommy. Vera apologizes for Nico’s behavior.

Andres understands that Pedro is like a drug for Marina. After Marina cries that he understands her perfectly, Andre assures her that he loves her but he is not going to be her toy. He promises to be with her but only on the day that she forgets about Pedro. In the meantime, she should stay away from him…he has already suffered enough.

Gas asks Delia if this is the way she greets him after the calvary he has experienced. He wants a hug but Delia remains cold as an iceberg.

Alberto goes to Olmo and asks to be taken back. He realized that his relationship with Ivana has no future but that doesn’t mean that he can’t continue to work for Olmo…if Olmo accepts him back, he will not let Olmo down. Olmo agrees to give him one last chance but next time he leaves, there is no return. Alberto then promises that Olmo will soon have Fausto in front of him.

Alicia gives Teo some of her shares of the Grupo…that way they will not be able to touch him again and they won’t humiliate him again.

Pedro goes to see Octavio…he wants to file a complaint. Pedro wants to find the murderer of his father, Tomas. He has a suspect and a video that points to the guilty party.

Ivana sees that Alberto returned and wonders if he is going to ask for her forgiveness while having his tail between his legs. As Ivana rants, Faby approaches and is fed up…their family is a lie...and they are liars!

Octavio tells Pedro that the case on his father death has been closed. When Pedro explains what’s on the video, Octavio suggests that Pedro not file a complaint because they don’t know where this will lead, but Oct will do everything he can to arrest Fausto. While there, Nico calls Pedro and tells him that his mother is sad because today is his granny’s birthday and Olmo yelled at his mother!

Olmo knows that Nico will never see him as a father. Vera blames herself. When Vera’s phone rings and sees that Pedro is calling, she doesn’t answer. When she lies that it is the bank calling, Olmo wants to see her phone, but Vera is saved when Melida comes in to tell Olmo that Gas is home.

Octavio meets with Julio and tells him about Pedro’s visit. Julio views the video.

Vera calls Pedro and tells him that Olmo was horrible last night but Pedro already knows since Nico told him. When Pedro explains that Nico called him, Vera thinks that may be dangerous for Nico. Pedro then tells Vera that Marina told him everything. After Vera relates that Marina threatened to tell Olmo, Pedro assures her that his marriage cannot be saved…and Vera needs to leave that house. Olmo could find out at any moment.

Julio is not surprised at what Tomas stated, When Octavio questions if Fausto is capable of murder, Julio reminds him of everything Fausto has done. When Octavio wonders how they will prove that Fausto killed Tomas, Julio realizes that Pedro knows that Fausto is alive. Octavio confirms and adds that Olmo also knows…and the question is who will find Fausto first?

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 55: Let That Bomb Explode! Part 4

Pedro thinks that Marina won’t keep quiet for long and thinks that the bomb should just explode. Vera doesn’t want the bomb to explode until she finds the person wo killed her mother. Pedro then suggest that they celebrate Antonia’s life. Vera agrees.

Lola is talking a mile a minute while Laiza massages her aching head. When Delia approaches and tells Laiza that Gas got married because it was the only way out of the rehab center, Laiza faints!!

Emilia arrives home to find Faby there. Eddy tells her that Faby feels ill because her parents had an argument, but Emilia insists that Eddy take Faby back to her house. Emilia then tells Eddy that they are returning to their hometown because his father went to live with Fausto and they have nothing to do there.

Delia thinks that Laiza is pregnant! (Weeeee!..Maybe…maybe not!)

Vera Pedro and Nico are at Antonia’s house celebrating her life. Pedro brought Antonia’s favorite flowers.

Ivana tells Olmo about the problems with Faby. When Olmo mentions that Nico doesn’t like him, Ivan asks what Vera thinks. Olmo isn’t sure because they aren’t at their best moment; he continues to love Vera but there is something in him that makes him doubt Vera. Ivana then calls Chavelita.

Pedro asks if there are photos of Vera’s father. Vera deflects and tells him there aren’t many pictures and she would have to look for them

After Chavelita tells Ivana that Vera left, Ivana points out that Vera does what she wants…and doesn’t tell Olmo anything. When Olmo tells her that Vera got a call and she wouldn’t tell him who it was, Ivana asks if he thinks it was Pedro. Olmo’s wheels start turning, but Ivana finishes his thoughts…What if Vera and Pedro are sleeping together.. what if Vera is cheating on him???

Yikes! That was a quick jump from a possible pregnancy and a headache to an oncologist visit for Laiza.
UNBELIEVABLE! Again, Vera let herself be overrun by Ivana but this time in her mother’s house!!!! ????? When Ivana knelt down to ask Nico where Pedro was, she should have hooked her around the neck and dragged her out. I am betting on Nico lying. He is a smart kid.

I join Jarifa in loving the quote and the recap RgvChick. Fabulous start to finish. "Accusations and reproaches are thrown every which way" was perfect.

We suspected Laiza's headaches were of grave concern yet it was heart wrenching watching the doctor gravely tell her no, she is absolutely not pregnant and even more shattering, that she needs to see an oncologist. I am now hoping for a miracle.

"Melida tells Gas that she wasn’t looking for a ring, just respect and that he stop seeing that little cook". Really? Liar, liar. She makes my stomach turn.

"Andrés had the smarts not to be used and to get going" was exactly right Jarifa. After Andres painful speech, she STILL walked up to Pedro and kissed him. There is little hope for her.

"When she adds that Octavio was a mistake, Faby wonders if she was a mistake too" could break your heart. I feel certain Faby won't go home but where will she and Eddy go??

"Nico blurts out that he doesn’t want Olmo as a father…he is mean and yells at his mommy". Perceptive kid. I don't know what Nico will say but I am sure he will protect his mother.

Gonzo, Alicia and Teo were the bright spots last night (who'd have thunk?). Alicia's sincerity in accepting Gonzo (after his impeccable timing in barging in and capturing Rodolfo) and her gifting Teo with her shares were a very few bright spots. I also liked Delia telling Olmo off. I don't see too many late afternoon whiskies in their future.

ACUERDAS (Recap of the end of Ep 55)

Well it seems that I missed the last 5 minutes of this AGAIN!! Here is a rundown--

Ivana assures Olmo that she will find out what Pedro and Vera are up to. Later, they are brought the tracking sheet that shows where Edson's vehicle has been for the last 3 hours. When Olmo identifies the location as Antonia's house, Ivana takes off like a batty bitch out of hell!

Nico's wish is that his granny grant him that Pedro be his real father. Pedro promises that, from the heavens, his granny will help them be a real family. Later, Nico is pretending to be asleep while Pedro and Vera dance. Once again, Pedro promises Vera that they will be together and nothing and no one will ever separate them. As they kiss, Nico takes a sneak peek.

Laiza, Delia and Lola are at the doctor's office awaiting the results of the pregnanacy test. After Delia leaves, the doctor comes in and tells Laiza that she is definitely not pregnant, but he did run other tests since she was having the headaches. He is referring her to an oncologist! Oh, noes!!

Teo shows Gonzo the shares that Alicia gave to him. When they think it is too much money for her to be giving away, Alicia clarifies that she is not giving away the money, it is Teo's living inheritance. She hopes that Teo will not allow Gonzo to work at the attorney's office for the rest of his life.

Ivana drives up to Antonia's house and comes to an immediately halt...screeching tires and all! Edson tries to detain her, but when she pushes right past him, he quickly calls Vera. Ivana storms in to the house like a freaky tornado calling out for Pedro. She then makes a beeline to Nico, puts on a big smile and tells him that she knows Pedro is there. "Where is he; can you tell me?" she asks...

Sancar asks, what was Akin doing in Switzerland? He was looking for you just like me, right? No, Nare answers. She has her hands on her head and is starting to panic. Sancar asks, tell me why Akin wanted to prevent you from going to the wedding. When I find Akin, I'll ask the same questions. Nare remains silent. What happened, Sancar asks, did you run out of lies?

Sancar comes to a realization--Akin loves you right? He would die for you, he's obsessed with you, and that's why your father caused us so much trouble! That's why Akin was with Muge! It was all for you! Tell the truth! Sancar asks, did he do what you told me?
Nare stands up and repeats, no. no, no, no… Sancar stands and shouts, I know you are lying! You used to tell the truth, but now you tell lies! The nun was right. Just as Othello murdered his wife for a handkerchief, I condemned you to death for a damn red ribbon! Isn’t that so?!

Nare can’t bear this. Enough, enough! She becomes hysterical, there is nothing! enough! enough! I don’t know! Maybe I'm lying, maybe I cheated on you with a lover! Sancar shouts, don't say that! Shut up!

Don't shut me up, Nare yells and walks back and forth, I'm going to say what I want! If you don't want answers, don’t ask! Sancar just stands there with his mouth open as she rants. You will never know if what I say is true or a lie! Let that be your punishment for what you've done! Okay?! What is true and what isn’t… She screams at him, you will always remain with that doubt!

Nare has lost it—she’s hitting her head and continues screaming-- I can’t stand you! I hate having to tell so many lies! I hate that night! I hate you! I hate what happened! I hate everything! She’s by the window, flings her arm out and breaks the glass with her hand! Sancar pulls her in and holds on to her as she sobs. She just hangs there in his arms.

Akin’s finished changing the tire. He thanks Zehra. She’s watching him limp towards her. What are you staring at, he asks? My leg? Zehra says, I don't want you to be offended. Okay, calm down, this is a joke, he replies. He really appreciates her help. He closes the trunk of her car and walks back to his. Zehra stops him, wait, please. He turns around and Zehra walks towards him. Are you making fun of me, he asks, why are you walking that way? Zehra shakes her head no and explains she was six years old when the accident happened. This is a souvenir…something like that. Akin apologizes, I…I'm sorry, very sorry.

Zehra wants to apologize, too. She didn't mean to make him feel uncomfortable. She says, when you realize you have something in common with another person, it's a different feeling. Do you understand? Yes, he replies, it's like a shared destiny. That’s true, she says. [crap, she looks smitten]

Akin holds out his hand out and introduces himself, Mert, nice to meet you. Zehra shakes his hand, Zehra, nice to meet you. Akin asks her to wait. He asks, uh…would you give me your phone number? Zehra is surprised—my phone number? Akin is sorry for behaving like an idiot and he would like to apologize. Zehra laughs, what are you saying? You had no idea. How about I buy you coffee to apologize, he asks? That's not necessary, Zehra says shyly, laughing.

Akin proposes something, I'll give you my phone number and when you need a tire, you will contact me. Zehra laughs and says it’s better that he contacts a mechanic. Hey, he says, I can't think of another trick to get your phone number. I must be honest, he tells her, I don't like the idea we won't see each other again.

Embajador #39 part 2

If you ask "when did you realize?" I'll tell you fate has brought us together, he says, it’s not a coincidence. Zehra is taking the bait, she holds out her hand for his phone and puts her number in it. I'm going to call you then, Akin says, I am so lucky. Zehra laughs, it won't take me long to learn your number [yes, Zehra let’s hope it’s before he can do you any harm.] Akin watches as Zehra gets into her car. He knows he’s got her hooked. Zehra gets a call. It’s Akin. She smiles and drives off.

Akin leans against his car and says to the absent Nare, I told you that I wouldn't stop until it’s just you and me on this earth. I told you that I was going to destroy everyone you love.

Nare is sitting on the floor in the room with the broken glass. She sends a text to Isabel, “Sancar saw Akin in Switzerland, they met at your hospital. He already knows about you, could you come? You do not know how sorry I am.” She is shaking and crying.

Sancar rushes to his truck to get a first aid kit. He runs back inside and knocks on the bathroom door. Elvan is blow drying Melek’s hair. Dad, Elvan helped me shower. How nice, Sancar says. Elvan steps out to speak with Sancar, what happened to you? Sancar shushes her, it was an accident. Don't let Melek come downstairs, please. Elvan says she will take care of Melek.

Sancar comes back to Nare and tells her not to walk barefoot in there. He starts to take care of her hand. Nare asks Sancar to go. Of course, we know he’s not going to leave her like this. She asks him again to go. I will not go, he replies, not without healing your pain first. Nare is crying softly, I don't feel pain in the hand. Sancar says he knows. Forget your hand, he says, if it is some consolation, I feel like I am drowning, drowning in doubts. She takes her hand away from his and stands up.

Nare calms herself and begins, Sancar, we are not characters in a telenovela. [wink, wink] Your doubts, my pain…we can't let those feelings overtake us, we are parents of a girl. Sancar nods. Our daughter is the most important thing, that's why we must start acting like adults.

You won't see me lose control again, she tells him, I won’t explode like this again. I must act like a mother. Sancar, you have a ring on your finger. He curls his hand and hides the ring. Nare continues, you need to go home and act like a husband. We both drown in pain. Elvan got in trouble because of me, they kicked her out of the house. Now the woman is caring for our daughter and we continue to suffer for a deal we made years ago. We are ignoring our daughter and our guest.

Sancar says Nare is right. They have ignored Elvan and Melek. Nare tells him not to worry. Melek and I have our own house, she says, and Melek has her father close by. He smiles. Nare says, our little girl deserves a normal life. We will enroll her in school, she will do her homework at night and wait for the weekend to visit her father. Let's do our best for our daughter.

Sancar says Nare is right. We’ll find a school. She deserves a normal life. Nare says, let's leave it all behind, okay? Sancar wants to ask a question. She’d rather he didn’t but he’s going to ask. You asked me how could I betray you, what changed? Nare replies, I know you belong to someone else, my anger is gone.

Sancar says, I go crazy at the thought you once belonged to another man. And you say you will get over it? Why are you so sure? Nare says she'll just have to get used to it if she can’t. I'll take care of my daughter, she says, I’ll take her to school in the morning before going to work. Sancar says, it’s not necessary, I can provide for you and for my daughter. Nare tells him she is not going to leave the marina. Sancar realizes he’s lost that battle. Make sure you take good care of your hand, he tells her. She nods, he leaves her.

Sancar kisses his daughter goodbye. I'm leaving now, okay? Melek says so soon? You still have spots of paint, aren’t you going to take a shower? Would you rather take a shower in your house? Sancar asks, does it bother you? Melek says no, I will miss you very much. She hugs her dad. You'll be back soon, right? Yes, of course. I'll be back soon, he tells her. We will find a school for you. Melek is happy, she wants to tell her mother the good news. Sancar stops her and says her mother is in the shower now, she can tell her later. Sancar asks Elvan to follow him out.

Elvan asks if everything is okay. Yes. Sancar asks how Elvan is doing. She says she’s fine, not to worry about her. Sancar smiles and says, it is impossible not worry about you. At some point I’m going to beat up your husband. Elvan laughs. Sancar opens his wallet and gives what he has to Elvan. Take it, he says. She doesn’t want to take it. He insists and she takes. He tells her she can count on him. She thanks him and he leaves.

Zehra pulls up to the mansion to find Kavruk standing outside. Don't tell me you've been waiting outside all this time, she says, your car is fine, don't worry. Kavruk doesn’t care about the car. He was worried about Zehra. Zehra says don't worry and she tells him he doesn't have the spare tire anymore. Kavruk is alarmed. I knew something had happened, he says, that's why it took so long. Zehra tells him to calm down, it wasn’t her. Someone else had a problem and she stopped to help. Kavruk says, why did you scare me like that?

Zehra tells him it’s okay, calm down. She asks him, would you lend me the car again if need it? I promise I’ll pay for the tire. Kavruk agrees. Zehra moves in close and shares, the man I loaned the tire to, Mert, he invited me for coffee. Oh, no…poor Kavruk is devastated. He asks Zehra, do you want to go out with that guy? Yes, but the mansion must not know about it. There are already too many problems. Can I count on your discretion, Kavruk? He nods. She gives him a big happy hug as his heart breaks. She enters the gate, and he staggers to a wall to hold himself up.

Gediz answers the door at home. It’s Guven and Kerem. Gediz steps outside with them. Guven tells Gediz that Kerem knows where Akin is. Where? Kerem asks with a big smile, will you also take part in the auction, Mr. Gediz? Guven says that Kerem knows Sancar is also looking for Akin, but I told him that you should be the priority. Kerem says the auction will be held, and we will start with 1 million.

Gediz grabs Kerem by the collar and pushes him onto the hood of a car. Guven asks for calm. We don't want to have more problems. Gediz backs off. Guven tells him the problem between Sancar and Akin has affected us more than anyone else. There must be a price for that. Whoever offers us more, gets Akin.

Subdued dinner time at Nare’s. Elvan asks, do you really eat pizza all the time? [I wondered the same thing, although I could eat pizza every day, too.] She offers to prepare a meal tomorrow. Nare tells Elvan that Melek’s favorite food is pizza. Melek says that’s right! [I wonder how the pizza is in Turkey?]

Nare tells her daughter, Elvan is right. We should go shopping as soon as possible so your mother can cook. You'll be going to school soon, I want to see that brain work, okay? She taps Melek on the head. Melek tells her to be careful with her hand. Nare assures her daughter it's nothing, she’s okay. Melek says, you have become very clumsy since we returned.

Embajador #39 part 4

The doorbell rings. Some workmen have come. Sancar sent them to fix the glass. Elvan and Nare talk downstairs while Melek eats upstairs. Elvan doesn’t want to get involved but she can’t help to ask, what is it you can't say to Sancar? Why is there so much anger? And the glass is shattered. Nare tells her not to worry about it and she asks Elvan how she’s doing. Elvan says she’s fine and thanks Nare for supporting her. Nare tells her they are lucky to have her here. She tries to cheer Elvan, Yahya must be crying. Elvan sadly says, yeah right.

Elvan wants to buy a bed for the room tomorrow. Nare tells her the bed she has is enough, the three of us will sleep together. Elvan jokes, but don't lie down too close to me, I could kick you if I dream of Yahya. They both laugh.

Gediz arrives at Nare’s just as the workmen leave. Sancar has already paid the bill and Gediz tips the men. Gediz notices that Nare’s hand is bandaged. Elvan greets Gediz. Gediz asks to speak with Nare, can I come in the house? Elvan says, don't ask me, I don't own this house. She excuses herself. Gediz tells Nare her father visited him and raised the price.

Sancar gets a text from Guven: "I found akin, but first we have to negotiate. See you tomorrow".

Melek is happy to see Gediz. She tells him she’s starting school and shows him the painted wall. Gediz makes some jokes about Sancar’s painting skills.

Nare asks Elvan to take Melek outside to the garden. Nare asks Gediz about her father. The man wants more money, he tells her. Not unexpected. She tells Gediz that she told Sancar she was going to work at the marina, that this time they are doing what she wants. Gediz takes her injured hand. Then you hurt yourself again, he asks, what did you do now? How did you hurt your hand? It was not on purpose, she says, Sancar and I argued, and I lost control.

Gediz says, you said you wouldn’t hurt yourself again. Nare thinks he’s worrying over nothing. Gediz wants to know what kind of argument she had that she smashed the glass? Nare tells him that Sancar is close to finding out what happened. He found Akin in Switzerland. What? Akin told him a few things before he managed to escape from Sancar. Gediz puts it together. I asked the lawyer why Sancar was detained, and he told me Sancar was involved in a street fight.

What does Sancar know? He thinks I stabbed Akin because he tried to stop me, Nare says, and he knows that I was aware of his wedding. Gediz asks, how would you know about the wedding? Nare tells him she knew. She knew the day of Sancar's wedding. I knew that I had to leave my daughter with her father before jumping off the cliff, she says. Gediz sighs and says, it's not possible.

Sancar goes to the shack. He looks up at the mountain. He thinks back to seeing Nare at the top, about to jump.

Gediz asks, when did you find out that Sancar would marry? Before akin attacked me.

We see a flashback to Akin’s attack when he tells her that Sancar is getting married today.

Gediz asks a rhetorical question, I wonder who told him. Nare says, don't blame Muge. Akin is sick. He came to my house that day to ask me to marry him. According to his sick mind, I belonged to him and when I rejected him, he lost control and attacked me. That's why I stabbed him. You had no choice, Gediz says.

Gediz wonders if she would have stabbed Sancar because he forgot about her and married another. Nare says I don’t know, maybe. Gediz figures she could have caught up with them before the wedding ceremony, what happened? Nare says, I arrived, and I was there. Gediz says, but you didn't stop it.

Nare says he decided to abandon me again. Did I make a mistake, Gediz? Gediz doesn't think so, but this will give hope to Sancar. He will think you changed your mind. She thought about that.

Embajador #39 part 5

Gediz asks her to be honest, could you imagine standing in front of him saying: "stop, don't marry her"? I wanted to do it, Nare says, I was about to, but I can't imagine a future with a man that I will never forgive. Gediz laughs, Sancar will have the wrong idea. He'll think you love him so much that you wanted to stop the wedding.

Nare doesn't care about that anymore. The only thing that matters is that Sancar is alive and safe. Let him think what he wants, that I love him or that I hate him. Knowing that he’s alive is enough. Gediz says, he will live because we will be by his side, okay? Gediz, Sancar is approaching the cliff, he’s on the edge and he could fall at any time, she says, he doesn't have wings like mine, he can't fly. She cries.

We see Nare at home picking up pieces of the broken glass.

We see Sancar walk up to the top of the mountain. He looks all around and down. He puts his hand over the handprint Nare made on his shirt. Silent tears fall.

Zehra wakes up happy. Kerem bids Akin a good morning. Akin texts Zehra: “good morning, beautiful. I’m inviting you for coffee.” Zehra laughs and replies: “I don't like to drink coffee before breakfast.” Akin: “if you're asking me for breakfast, then yes, yes, yes” Zehra laughs and gets ready.

Sancar and Kavruk pull up to the mansion. Zehra comes out of the gate and gives her brother a greeting. She asks where he’s been, he looks terrible. Yes, says Sancar, and you’re shining. Zehra tells him the weather is very pleasant, spring is beginning, maybe that's the reason. Kavruk knows the reason and he looks very unhappy.

Sancar asks about Halise. Zehra says she doesn’t know. She’s been trying to avoid her after what happened with Elvan. I don't want to talk to her or with our brother, she says.

Sancar asks her if she is leaving. Yes, uh, first she’s going to have breakfast with some friends and then she’s going to work. Zehra asks brokenhearted Kavruk if she can borrow his car. He gives her the keys. See you later, Zehra says, and she happily goes off. Sancar notices Kavruk’s emotional state and signals to come inside with him.

Menekse is making her bed and she gets a call. Hello, is anyone there? Who are you? It’s Loki and he’s with Atike and Necdet. He’s playing with his knife. He says, I was once what you wanted, Menekse, but I haven't heard from you. Tell me how much you missed me. Loki, it’s you? Where are you calling from? You have a phone in prison? Loki laughs and says he’s a very clever man. How are you, he asks? I missed your pretty voice. How is your husband? Did I interrupt your breakfast?

Sancar enters the house.

Menekse says we already spoke about this. Yes, know exactly what we are talking about, he says, I didn’t forget. There is one thing that has me very upset. He shouts, you are the wife of a man who is not me! I can’t stand it! I’ll go crazy! [already there, Loki]
Menekse says, you went crazy because you have been locked up, but you deserve it for having abandoned me. She’s putting him on to avoid problems. Do you think this is easy for me? I never wanted to marry him! Sancar approaches the bedroom door. He hears Menekse inside and pauses to listen.

Sancar hears Menekse say: my brother planned it all, she had no choice, he planned everything, I swear. Necdet shakes his head as Loki continues to play with his knife. Okay, says Loki, so tell me that you love me. I am going to hang up. Loki lifts his knife as if he’s about to strike Necdet.

Menekse says, I love you, Loki as Sancar bursts into the room. Bitch is busted!

And we are out.

At this point , I am so confused about what San knows and doesn't know and what Nare is hiding from him so that he doesn't kill Akin.

I have been wondering why Melek is not in school . And about the pizza...my daughters liked it to , but we didn't have it every night.

For me the two outstanding scenes in this episode was Andres’ heartfelt and open honesty, about the accident and death of his wife and son, to both Pedro and Marina, followed by his telling Marina he will not hang around while she still has attachments to Pedro. Bravo Andres!
The second outstanding scene was Alicias’s admitting to her judgmental attitude and apologizing to Gonzo, plus giving Teo some of her shares. Brava Alicia!

I know there are class issues but he is a good man and sancar knows this and would support him. We know however Halise would look down on him but hopefully if Zehra likes him too...they can overcome Halise and class issues.

Fe, you pinpointed my two favorite scenes too. Andres may have been in the pysch hospital, but he's got his screws on tight when it comes to Marina. Hurray for him! And yes, though quite a drastic turn around, watching Alicia be a good granny was nice to watch. I can't wait until Alberto finds out that Teo is now a shareholder.

I don't have much to add, I do agree with Susanlynn that Akin's new look is an improvement...as long as he doesn't smile, becasue everytime he smiles, I think, "Vampire!" ...somehting about his teeth that reminds me of those bloodsuckers.

Anon 7:24. " is there anything remotely likable or redeeming about Sancar?" Likeable: his eyes! and his love-filled stares at Nare. Those leave no doubt that he loves her, but as soon as he opens his mouth and starts the accusatory insinuations, that just destroys any hopes of redemption. His incessant questioning if what Nare had told him is true makes him look like an idiot. Wy does Nare have to confirm it? If she said back then when she was pouring her heart out to him, then it is true!

Nett, I too hope Karuk takes his own advice and I hope he doesn't wait too long. I really don't think class has anything to do with it...or it shouldn't. Meanekse and her family don't seem to be well off and Sancar married her. And now that I think of it, Hellise must have been the one to pay Necdet for Meanekse's hand in marriage. Waste of money, I say!!

About Kavruk and Zehra: I agree with Nett on this. It’s a class matter and poor Kavruk knows it. It’s ok for the man to marry a woman below his status. In this world, she wouldn’t be expected to do more than housework and have babies. Look at how Guven still views Sancar as the peasant. Given that, Halise and Sancar could likely have differing views on a Zehra/Kavruk pairing. Anyway, Zehra loves Kavruk like a brother. She grew up with him.

About Sancar: He’s not a bad guy. To say he is irredeemable is to put him in the same category as Akin. It’s the ish with Nare that makes him seem that way. Susanlynn made the point “… about what San knows and doesn't know and what Nare is hiding from him...” Sancar’s been fed a bunch of lies and half-truths from Akin, Guven and Nare, for different reasons, of course. Any wonder our Turkish Othello goes off the rails? Yes, Nina, I say it too, please show Sancar the video and let the chips fall where they may!

If you look at how Sancar treats Melek, Zehra, Elvan and even his crappy mother, there is still good in him. Then there are those all too brief moments that Rgv Chick put so well: “…his eyes! and his love-filled stares at Nare.” —OMG, those are killer.

Y’all know by now I’m a big Engin Akyürek fan. I give all credit to him and how he plays Sancar. Engin fans know he shines when he plays these very complex characters. If you saw “Bir Bulut Olsam”, he played a character that makes Sancar look like a saint. Many viewers began to feel sympathy for the psychotic Mustafa. The head writer couldn’t believe the support for such vile character and she made some adjustments to the story.

Rgv I agree whole hearted about akin the vampire. But I can't stand him period. He exudes evil. He is dead inside. And zehra's heart will crumble. Or she could be like elvan and tare him a new one. I love the way elvan stands up for Herself against the mom-inlaw from Hell and her ass of husband. Little girls cannot live on pizza for dinner every night, put your foot down momma nare. And sancar better be carefully not to spoil melek cuz he could end up with a minnie hel-lise

Ivana has to have a seriously strong stomach to boink El Chamaco. I guess the sight of little green pieces of paper is an adequate antidote. Goes right along with her heart of stone.

It was a relief to see Alicia shed the turban. I was concerned at the possibility that Helena Rojo has to wear it for the usual reason.

Thanks, Dondi356. Yikes. Maybe Kavruk, not Sancar, will be the one to dispatch vile Guven. I guess I'm the only one who thinks Kavruk and Zehra will wind up together. When they were playing that face touching game, Elvan could see something was up with those two.

I'm nuts I know, but I haven't given up on Yahya. You can see he's dying for Elvan to beg him to take her back. Fat chance with that, fool. But still time to stop being your momma's lackey.
