QT #72, Part 1

- Juan gives Came a rose and some jewelry to perform his heterosexuality in front of the boys. Facundo bets the rest of the gang he can alienate her affections in two weeks by showing her what "a real man" is. Blech.

- Padre Gabo, Val, Mateo, Leo and Sabina go to bat for Tirso, although I'm not exactly sure why. Tirso looks lobotomized, although endless loads of laundry can do that to you. The warden recommends he receive psychiatric treatment.

- Mat quizzes Aaron about his bio-Mom, but the doc just slurps his spiked coffee and denies, denies, denies.

- Sandy keeps forcing tea on a dizzy Dalia. Tito looks suspicious, and Sandy acts suspicious.

- Art sneaks out of town with Eva. Oblique references are made to S&M. I have to cover my ears.
 

QT #72, Part 2

- Dalia goes splat, and Mat calls an ambulance. The docs at the hospital seem to think it's a stroke.

- Art & Eva arrive at a picturesque country inn, where some rando pays the room-service waiter to plant a camera in the flower arrangement in their room. It may or may not have captured Art rolling his eyes behind her back as they dance, but it definitely gets the embarrassing strip-tease Eva performs afterward. Now I have to cover my eyes.

- Luisa confesses to Vicente that her mother taught her that a woman is nothing without a man. He says it's time she was re-educated and promises to teach her to read.

- Sab reads a hot text message from "Carlo." Those kids have excellent grammar. She responds fairly conservatively by saying that she'd be interested if someday he is free of entanglements. Esme reads the messages while he's in the shower and pretends to be asleep when he gets out.

- Chacho has a new job as Val's general factotum at the Soup Kitchen, and Bere congratulates him VERY enthusiastically -- although not before they have a spat about Abel/Maclo, admit that they're not interested in anyone else, and make up. Yawn. Bere does refer to the teenage Maclo as a "badly wrapped tamale," which is pretty funny.
 

QT #72, Part 3

- In the hospital chapel, Sandy prays fervently to the crucified Christ...that she won't be outed as a suegracide, because she doesn't want to go to jail. I'm not Catholic, but I don't think that's how it works.

- Val gives Mat the magic medallion to hang on Dalia. He cries in her arms.

- Esme leaves Carlo a Dear Juan letter and leaves town. He finally notices his text messages and he's all que que que???

- Dalia's lawyer brings her a flower arrangement, presumably without a hidden camera. He's worried that Leo may try to take advantage of the situation to argue that she is not capable of administering the estate and promises Mat he will move to have him named alternate executor.

286.) We last left off from yesterday with Psycho Barbara driving all the way to Purification & arriving at the Colegio Buena Esperanza: where we also see Aurora doing some gardening work (I guess she needs a job LOL).

287.) The annoying shtick between Venus/Lovely & Jackass #2 Camilo, after leaving the horse-track or whatever that was on the grounds of the Elizalde Mansion. She brings up being the valedictorian of the School of Hearts & Tarts: WTH does that even exist ?

288.) Las Animas (AKA Casa Santorro): Eduardo/Franco running after Daddy Elizalde's vehicle & I can assume that there was an ugly meeting between Daddy Elizalde & Steve Norton, Jr.,

It appears that Steve, Jr., has had enough with everything: Venus/Lovely, Jackass #2 Camilo, etc., & Eduardo/Franco notices that Steve, Jr., is jealous of seeing Venus/Lovely & Jackass #2 Camilo together & when he mentions this to Steve, Jr., the Uppity Gringo starts nagging at Eduardo/Franco.

289.) In the meantime over at Colegio Buena Esperanza: Psycho Barbara puts on her best Oscar-winning acting performance of fooling Mother Superior. Mother Superior falls for it hook, line & sinker LOL. OMG these idiots haven't caught onto Psycho Barbara's crimes against humanity yet ?

290.) Back at Las Animas: More groaning from Steve, Jr., & the back-&-forth between Steve, Jr., & Eduardo/Franco about women: Venus/Lovely, Nagging Gardenia, etc.,

291.) Elizalde Mansion: Santiago nagging & nagging to Priscila about why didn't Gullible Aurora leave him a note of explaining why she left (C'MON DUDE: the audience knows the real reason why: Psycho Barbara & Jackass #2 Camilo concocted a sinister scheme: she bought the drugs & Jackass #2 Camilo drugged & raped Gullible Aurora).

292.) Priscila thinks Psycho Barbara is a liar & should NOT be trusted by anyone. Santiago is really that DESPERATE!

293.) Later in the night: Mooching Damian & Psycho Barbara talk over the phone. Damian tells her that his crooked lawyer cousin Jacobo, informed him Villasana doesn't have any legal leg or anything to stand on.

294.) We're back to the eye-rolling stuff between Gullible Aurora & Mother Superior at Colegio Buena Esperanza.

295.) Pyscho Barbara arrives back home at the Elizalde Mansion & walking through the downstairs of the hacienda.

296.) Las Animas: Eduardo/Franco wants to talk to Nagging Gardenia about setting some things straight: It turns into another eye-rolling, annoying of NAGGING & NAGGING as Nagging Gardenia kisses Franco right in front of Redhead, who walks back into her vehicle crying & cursing Franco.

297.) Nagging Gardenia gets all UPPITY & more stupid with her crazy BULLSHIT & Franco mentions that the situation has gotten out of control, he considers her as one of his friends, etc.,

We see Nagging Gardenia arriving back at Jacinto & Mags' crib, telling them she quit her job at Las Animas & nags about her obsession with Eduardo/Franco, etc., Jacinto also informs her that he nor Mags aren't going to let her be lazy at their house, she's going to need a job & just as I predicted: it seems Nagging Gardenia will be working at Grupo Lactos very soon once she talks with Redhead.

298.) Venus crying over the phone with Martina after the stupid stuff she's pulling with Steve, Jr., It came as no shocker that Martina goes beast-mode & yells at her BFF.

Once again at Colegio Buena Esperanza: Gullible Aurora is chatting with the Virgin Mary. Ummm: Aurora, the Virgin Mary is NOT talking back to you.
 

ECDLP #17

- Rebeca assures Alonso that she’s fine. Nora thinks “Federico” must be another one of Lucia’s suitors but Lucia denies knowing anyone by that name. Marcelo asks Rebeca if she’s okay.
- Rebeca excuses herself to go change and freaks out thinking Federico is still alive. She looks for her old phone but can’t find it.
- Marcelo asks Lucia if she’s always so serious. Nora says that Lucia used to be so lively but lately that’s changed. Nora suggests to Alonso that Marcelo rent Lucia’s apartment. Lucia leaves the table in a huff. Nora soon follows after Alonso berates her for her comment.
- Nora tells Marcelo she hopes he doesn’t have a bad impression of her. He says it’s obvious that she and Lucia don’t get along and says he thinks she has something to do with what happened to Lucia.
- Lucia tells Alonso she feels threatened and uncomfortable by Marcelo.
- Alonso notes Rebeca has been acting off since she returned from the city. Maybe she should see a doctor.
- Marcelo remembers what Normita told him about the Gaxiola-Murillo women and Rebeca’s reaction to the flowers/note.
- Teresa brings Rebeca breakfast in bed and Rebeca asks her who brought the flowers. And also asks if she’s seen her old phone.
- Alonso tells Nazario he thinks he’s the cause of Rebeca’s problems. He knows that even though he married her, he can’t forget Adriana. He can’t ever talk directly to Rebeca about it.
- Lucia confides in Trini that she’s still hurt by what Rodrigo did. Rebeca had told her that if Rodrigo left her for another woman then who and where is that woman? Why isn’t Rodrigo showing her off?
- Nora and Gloria chat about Rodrigo and Sergio. Nora asks if she knows anyone named Federico.
- Teresa tells Rebeca that her old phone was found with the clothes that came back from the dry cleaners. Rebeca tries calling Federico’s cell number but it’s off. She calls his house asks for him and Milagros answers asking who she is. Teresa overhears and concludes then the flowers were for Rebeca. Rebeca hangs up the phone.
- Rebeca denies knowing what Teresa is talking about. Rebeca lies and says many years ago Magdalena had a boyfriend named Federico.
- Alonso asks Marcelo if he’d like to rent the apartment.
- Milagros calls Marcelo to tell him about the mysterious phone call.
- Rebeca disposes of the flowers and card in an alley/dump somewhere.
- Alonso asks Amador to have Rodrigo give him his copy of the apartment keys because he’s renting it to Marcelo. Amador is surprised that Alonso is helping Marcelo so much. Amador says the way things are going Marcelo might be married to Lucia soon then. Alonso denies that but says Marcelo would be a better match than Rodrigo. Alonso says Marcelo has nothing to do with the problem between Lucia and Rodrigo.
- Lucia confides in Magdalena that she wants to confront Rodrigo and ask him why he left her. Magdalena says she wishes she had the chance to do the same with Ricardo.
- Nora tells Rebeca about what Marcelo told her about her being involved in Lucia’s breakup. Nora says she might consider dumping Sergio for Marcelo. Rebeca says she shouldn’t put herself in Lucia’s shadow all the time. Nora notes that Rebeca married her sister’s husband. So what’s the difference?
- Brigida looks for the apartment keys in Rodrigo’s room and tells him that Alonso is giving the apartment to Marcelo. Rodrigo wants to hand over the keys personally. He goes to the door to leave and finds Lucia. She straight up asks him why he left her at the altar but he says it doesn’t matter because she’s obviously moved on. He gives her the keys so she can personally give them to her Prince Charming.
- Alonso tells Lucia that Marcelo might have already started moving into the apartment.
- Rebeca tells Alonso she’s going to the city to see a doctor but wants to go alone.
- Lucia goes to the apartment with the keys. She sees some of Marcelo’s things in the closet and drawer. Inside the drawer she finds plot gun AND plot earring. She recognizes the earring and asks Marcelo why he has it and that it belongs to Rebeca.

Great one, Blue Lass. Been busy all day and had several brief internet outages, so sorry I'm late.

"...lobotomized, but endless laundry can do that to you"... so true and so funny.

Don't Juan's compadres get any work done? All they seem to do is follow him around. Leo should fire them all.

Art and Eva S&M? The video must be hilarious. As for Eva's stripper umber, the actress must have had a good time doing that one.

"Badly wrapped tamale" must mean that Maclovia had a poor sense of fashion. Also amusing.

If Guillermo can't get Matt appointed he should get a neutral third party. Does anyone remember whether Leo's lawyer was the one who read the will?

Hilarious recap, Blue Lass!

I really liked Tito watching Sandy so carefully. He looked suspicious of her and is smart enough to make trouble for her at some point. He may be Dalia's savior.

I love the exterior of the mansion.

Marcelo wasn't the only one who noticed Rebecca's reaction. Does she always outline outside her lips and with that color? That shade should be called Vampire Bride Red.

Nora clearly has no self-awareness. She made herself look like a jealous brat at the dinner table. She didn't fool Marcelo.

Teresa needs a new job, like yesterday.

Milagros is also responsible for Federico's death, but she will never realize it.

Nora's only purpose in life is to steal anything that is Lucia's... or any other woman's. What a slut.

Finally, the Plot Earring is discovered. Early in the story for a change.
 

QT #73 Part 1 of 4

Mateo and Guillermo stood in the hospital corridor. Guillermo assured Matt he would take care of their legal situation.

Leo's lawyer told him that the breeding of the horse recently sold was proof that Dalia and Matt used estate money for their own benefit. Further, now that Dalia is incapacitated Leo could file a motion for assuming control of the inheritance. Leo almost gloated, saying he will enjoy “putting this imbecile in his place.” This was revenge for Matt's attentions to Valeria. He was looking to destroy Matt's “tranquility.” The lawyer warned him to be careful but Leo was looking forward to “total destruction... and it's not even about the inheritance.”

Carlo kept Matt company in the hospital's waiting area and shared his problem with him. He showed him the message thread on his cell, telling him he never sent the message to Sabina. Matt warned him that she was dangerous. Matt then got Esmeralda's voice mail, so he left her a message about his mum.

Esme visited a retreat and spoke to Padre Marcos about her inability to find peace. At the end of the conversation she had to turn in her cell phone to stay. She did.

Camila joined Carlo and Matt on Magdalena's behalf. She brought Matt a note from Esme saying that she would be away for a few days and therefore out of touch.

Tirso went up before a judge who sent him to a psych ward.

At the hacienda it was pretty quiet at breakfast until Sab brought up the issue of who would administer the estate. Minnie became particularly vicious and condescending, taunting Sandy that Matt would not take his mother's place. Sandy got up and started to accuse Minnie of being heartless because of Dalia's condition. Leo told her to watch her mouth. Sab said nobody was buying her huge concern for Dalia and Sandy told Sab “You are nobody in this house.” Minnie suggested to Sandy that she eat with the field hands. After Sandy left the room Minnie commented on Sab bagging Carlo, which irritated Leo. Minnie told him to at least pretend to respect Val.

Val was breakfasting with Remi and brought up the search for her mother. The internet had not been helpful. Leo called, she told him, and he wasn't pleased. As soon as that call ended he called Remi to say “If you tell her Magdalena is her mother I will kill you. You know what I'm capable of.” Remi ended the call quickly but Val knew something was very wrong. He would not talk, so she excused herself and left to visit Dalia.

 

QT #73 Part 2 of 4

Sab tried to get some money from Leo to buy Angelita some necessary new clothes but he would not give her any, saying he had none. He told her to ask Dalia. She saw the subterfuge in that, knowing that Dalia was incapacitated. He then told her to “get it from your new lover.” Val called Leo and told him she was depressed about the search for her mother. He asked what Remi told her and she said “Practically nothing. If you know more beyond that she was a prostitute and left me with a drug-addicted aunt, please tell me.” He lied, saying that was all that he knew. He lied again, saying that Remi was trying to break them up. Whatever detail he gave her [please fill in if you caught it] made no sense to her and she ended the call.

Luisa was working when a kid entered and left a manila envelope on the counter. Inside were the incriminating photos of Artemio and Eva.

Val visited Dalia, who had difficulty speaking. Matt came in with the Magic Medallion and put it on her. Dalia told him she was very tired. Matt and Val stepped out of the room. He thanked her and Leo arrived just in time to see them embrace. It was not a romantic one, but he gave them the death glare anyway. Val went back into Dalia's room to give her encouragement.

Sandy went to see Uriel. She refused his advances and he asked about the moey. She told him he could have more if he was willing to be patient. He had other ideas, telling her that she had too much to lose. It looked like he was about to have his way with her.

Leo started an argument with Matt in the town square by accusing him of taking advantage of his mother's illness. In return Matt accused him of using lies and deception to get Val to marry him. Further that it was he who took advantage of Dalia's condition. Leo said he was just taking back what was his. He even boasted of having boinked Sandy, thereby cuckolding him more than once. This was enough for Matt to punch him hard enough to knock him off his feet and draw blood. This became a fist fight complete with insults. Carlo ran in and broke it up.

Sandy promised Uriel the money when Matt took control of the estate [¡Que idiota!], but this did not satisfy the not-so-good doctor. He warned her that if Matt found out she would lose more more than he would. She said not to worry, she would not fail.

Luisa showed Vicente the photos. At the same time she got the sex video on her phone. She accused him of paying for this. He pled Not Guilty and she demanded “If you didn't, who did?”

And the answer was...Eva, who paid the man who bribed the hotel employee to let him into the room to place the camera. She paid him some more for his silence so that Luisa would never know where this came from.

Aaron and Flavio checked Dalia's feet and legs. She was able to move the right one but not the left. Her headache was still bad. Her speech was a little better but she could not move her left arm. The good docs said she would need physical therapy and the damage was actually minimal. When she said that Sandy had been giving her her meds Aaron looked concerned. Flavio said they would give her some pain medication and analgesics to reduce the swelling on her brain. She was to be patient because this would take time.

Matt arrived and me Val in the corridor. He told her Leo was lying and she should not marry him. “What did he say?” she asked. “Ask him,” Matt answered [WTF???] “but I'm sure he won't tell you.” The docs came out and told Matt his mother was out of danger, but would need rest.

Magda and Carlo talked on the phone. He was concerned about Esme because he couldn't reach her. Magda was also concerned because they couldn't tell her about Dalia. Sab walked in behind her and caught some of this.

Sab then overheard the kids talking about the cell phone prank and lost her crap. She ordered Tito out of the room and told Ange this was the last time he would be in her room. She said they were just trying to help her because “I know you like Carlo.” Sab said not to do such things and she was to explain what they did.

Leo went to the hospital and lied to Val about the nature of the argument with Matt. She didn't buy it and insisted upon the truth. He asked why she believed Matt over him [an old tactic he'd used before]. He also went back to the ingrate accusation “...when all I've ever done is help him, like with the horses. And look how he pays me back.”
 

QT #73 Part 4 of 4

Sab met with Carlo and explained what the kids did and Ange's matchmaking motive. She was a little embarrassed, but they had a good laugh about it.

Berenice visited Art to find out what game he was playing by dallying with Eva when he said he was going to marry Luisa. He tried to play the Patriarch card again at what he thought was presumption, but Berenice fought back by accusing him of hurting her mother. He accused himself of having been a bad father that she is coming up with these accusations because he had never hit them as he had Luisa. She realized that he had lied about that, called him a desgraciado, and walked out.

Sab realized that the cell phone prank caused Esme to leave town and was very sorry about it. Nobody knew where Esme had gone. Carlo said there was the issue of their age difference and he didn't know what to do.

Sandy asked what happened when she saw the bruise on Matt's face. He looked her in the eye and told her Leo said he had boinked her.
 

QT #73

This could become a doozy of a legal case and if it goes that way I hope there is no further compromise of representation of Mexican inheritance law on the writers' part. Based on the series title it's obvious that Leo is looking to get it all. The facts:

-- Hijos naturales have equal inheritance rights to ones born or adopted within a marriage. The DNA test results on Leo and Matt can be used to enforce this.
-- Don Patricio handed $4MM US in cash to Esmeralda for safekeeping for Angelita. According to Aaron the deceased knew he was not the child's sperm donor despite having been registered on her birth certificate as her father. There needs to be documentation of the safekeeping intent to prove this. Minnie has already made two attempts at stealing this money.
-- There are two DNA test results on Angelita: the false one identifying Tirso and the correct one identifying Leo as her sperm donor. DNA source for the second one was submitted by Minnie who bribed someone for the false result of the first one. This was presumably to buy time or delay the revelation that Leo is Angelita's sperm donor, making her a legitimate heiress. Disclosure of her bribe and subsequent involvement could legally disqualify her as Angelita's guardian.
-- There were no witnesses to Leo's "authorization" to Matt carrying on with the horse breeding. The money from the sale of that beautiful black stallion should have been transferred into the estate's account. [If anyone caught that part of the transaction between Matt and the buyer (if there was any), please clarify.]
-- Leo has been siphoning off Valeria's money for an unknown period of time. He is also running for alcalde. Remi knows about the embezzlement; it points to character and a motive for any financial shenanigans on Leo's part.

Coincidentally, both Leo and Sabina have committed murder. This likely has to come to light before the estate can be distributed.

UA: I’m sure sooner or later we’ll see a confrontation between Lucia and Rebeca about the earring.

Like Rebeca, Nora has to have everything she wants and if/when she doesn’t she resorts to drastic measures. It’s clear that Alonso doesn’t know how to deal with Rebeca AND Nora. He’s looking for peace and stability in his household but it’s out of his reach. With Marcelo close to the family, it only brings more to light the chaos of what’s happening under Alonso’s root.

I will amend an earlier statement: Aaron might be responsible for the document naming Tirso as Ange's progenitor for her protection. He knew the precise timeline of Paltricio's accident and that he therefore could not have been Ange's father. However, Patricio assumed the responsibility for her. Aaron definitely knows much more. Could this have been planned with Patricio before his death? We probably won't know until the end.

If this story follows the traditional Televisa rules Matt will inherit while Leo goes to prison for the rest of his life for the two murders.

In any event, I doubt that the will -- as read -- would be legal as it could theoretically invalidate Mateo as an heir.

Alonso is clueless. He avoids truths that are too painful. He will be in for more shocks than he can take. Peace and stability do not and cannot exist in his house.

302.) In the meantime in Pueblo Purification: Santiago went back to Colegio Buena Esperanza, where he meets with Mother Superior again to discuss: Gullible Aurora.

303.) Once again at Casa Santorro: Dramatic music blaring in the background during the face-to-face showdown between Franco & Psycho Barbara.

304.) Bravo HQ: Artemio reading the diary of his late mother, Ana Gregoria where we see the flashbacks from back in the day: Criselda (whom I think is related to Nagging Gardenia) insulting Ana Gregoria & taking her diary.

305.) Dona Altagracia showed up & launches insults at Ana Gregoria. It seems that she knew about the secret affair between her husband, Don Jeronimo & Ana Gregoria.

306.) More of the flashbacks: Dona Altagracia scolding Ana Gregoria, who is preggers with Don Jeronimo's baby. She orders Ana Gregoria to write down every specific detail in the diary.

307.) Casa Santorro: Both Nagging Gardenia & Redhead are pissed off at Franco. Sounds like Nagging Gardenia will be working at Grupo Lactos soon.

308.) Grupo Lactos: Creepy Vlad & Jackass #1 Anibal launching insults at each other. Creepy Vlad even mentions the mysterious Baby Daddy of Priscila's kid; he also mentions the fertility issue & Jackass #1 Anibal is enraged.

309.) No appearance from Venus & Martina.

310.) Bravo HQ: Liliana's enjoying that storytime session LOL.

311.) Colegio Buena Esperanza: Psycho Barbara shows up AGAIN to meet with Gullible Aurora. Maury Povich needs to make an appearance now!

UA, in answer to your earlier question, Leo told Val that Remy has been trying to break them up ever since he made a pass at Leo in Miami and was rejected. This is illogical on so many levels that I'm sure Val will swallow it hook, line and sinker. Sigh.

I see. That makes no sense at all. Remi would never make the silly mistake of making a pass at Leo, who is as hetero as it gets.

Have to register my disappointment that the sex video of Art and Eva didn't and wasn't intended to go viral. It might have forced the racy photos of Sandy out into the open.
 

Quererlo Todo Friday 4-23-21 #74 Daytime Anguish Makes It Hard to Sleep
Part 1/4
Sandy tries to reassure Mat that he is the only man in her life. He thinks this is true.
Sab and Carlo chat outdoors. She, who has been demonized by many, likes Carlo. He likes her, but is in love with Esme. Sab will be there if Carlo needs her.
Leo toasts Patricio’s portrait, saying he is now in a position to rule over everything. Sandy bursts in, angry that he told Mat they had done the deed. In revenge, she will tell Val of his dealings with Sabina.
Sandy has to leave when Min enters for a private conversation with her son. She has legal documents creating Leo the new manager of the estate.
Chacho is running the construction crew at Val’s community building, looking all studly in his jumpsuit with the sleeves rolled over his biceps. Val is impressed with the progress. Remi comes in to speak with Val. They are interrupted by a distraught Bere, seeking consolation in the strong arms of Chacho. She now has proof from her father that he beat Luisa.
Val tells Remi that Leo and Matt are fighting and each one tells her bad things about the other. She doesn’t know whom to believe. Remi says Leo is a scorpion and not to believe him. Leo has always despised Remi since they got into it once before.
Mat is feeding Dalia in the hospital. The doctor comes in to talk, so Matt leaves with him as he tells Dalia he won’t be long. Meanwhile, Min slithers in for a visit. Dalia, striving with her broken words, tells Min she is close to those she likes, but not with Min. Min is bad.
Sneering, Min says what will Dalia do? Drag her out to the fields? Dalia says she will be able to walk and, raising her right hand, she will be able to sign her name and protect Matt’s inheritance. Min’s ambitious son will be begging alms. Min tips Dalia’s plate onto her tray and turns to the door. Dalia states that Don Patricio left her in charge of La Noria.
Matt questions the doctor on Dalia’s condition. Will she stay this way always? The doc thinks she will improve, with rest and medicine. Matt mentions her slow speech, and how she was always busy and hardworking. Doc again tells Matt it’s too early to tell, he should be patient.
 

QT #74 part 2/4

Remi and Val are still talking about Leo, how he has deceived and used Val, told her lies. She asks for specifics, but Remi won’t say and stalks out.

Mat comes in and Val asks about Dalia. He explains the slow recovery and how they need to be strong. He tells Val he just needs to see her sometimes, as she gives him a tentative smile in return. Val’s phone rings, with good news. Her lip product line has been approved. She shrieks in delight and hugs Matt. Congrats from Matt.

Carlo is visiting Dalia in the hospital. She wonders why Esme hasn’t been to see her? He makes excuses, but Dalia says she knew him for years and he’s lying. Did they fight? He explains that Esme is out of town and out of contact for a few days.

Val and Matt meet Remi on the street and Val gives her buddy the news of the lip line. Remi is excited and says this will mean going to the city. Remi is acting a bit coy, so Val asks what is it? He reveals that an old flame has been sending messages, so he and the galan may meet for coffee.

One Week Later

Dalia is home from the hospital, escorted in a wheelchair by Matt and Sandy. She worries that she might be a burden, but Matt says no!

Artemio is working in his office late at night. Basurto comes in and Art tells him all the legal work he’s doing for long hours. The inspector wonders if there’s a problem at the fonda—it’s closed. Art calls, with no answer from Luisa. He rushes out to discover the problem.

Apparently in the time Art is walking down the street, Dalia tells Matt about a call from Lawyer Riverol, which she couldn’t answer. Matt tells her it’s more important to rest.

Art find’s Luisa’s café empty. He looks around, calling for his Flaca. The living quarters are dark and empty. The bedroom is all tidy, with the diamond ring on the dresser with the “Eva encounter” photos. He is stunned.

 

QT #74 Part 3/4

Val gets a phone call from a mystery woman, who knows about her mother. The caller won’t tell Val anything helpful before she hangs up. She tries to call the number back, but it’s out of the area and can’t be reached.

Leo holds a meeting of the clan to announce that due to Dalia’s condition, the judge has named him the sole administrator of the estate. Matt asks how can this be? Leo says the estate is now a great burden for her. Matt is sure he bribed the judge! They argue and call names.

Luisa is at Vicente’s home when she gets the message from Art. He broke her heart and she doesn’t know what to do. Vicente tells her she needs to learn to live with herself either single or as a couple, to love herself. He offers to start her lessons in literacy. She agrees happily.

An angry Art takes the photos to Eva, asking who is responsible? She claims no knowledge, although she fist pumps and laughs when he is gone.

Leo and Val are seated on her bed, talking. She tells him about the call from someone who knew her mother. He says the past may hurt, but her mother is gone. He tells about the judge’s order and Matt’s anger, then says she needs to try to sleep. He leaves her room.

In the hallway, Leo overhears Sab on the phone with Carlo. She tells him to try to rest. She also assures him they are friends, incluso. Incluso that she will show up any hour of the night he needs her. (Is friends incluso like friends with benefits? Leo takes this all in.


 

QT # 74 Part 4/4

Art pounds on Vicente’s door and hollers for Luisa. Vicente answers and says Art is mistaken. The alcalde makes enough noise that that the neighbors start protesting. Vicente answers Art’s threats and says he must respect a citizen’s house. Art threatens again, but then leaves.

Luisa is upset and worried. It’s time for sleep (both are in pajamas) but Luisa thinks she’s too much trouble. Vicente insists that he will sleep on the couch. Luisa will take the bed and try to get some rest.

Matt and Sandy are also going to bed. He is upset because the lawyer warned him about Leo’s ploy, but he was too busy taking care of Dalia. It breaks his heart to see her so powerless. Sandy offers comfort but he just wants to rest. He does kiss his child in her belly goodnight.

Leo is shuffling papers in his office, where he finds a letter to Sabina, saying she is the love of his (Patricio’s) life. Pondering on this, Leo recalls his proposal to Val. Sab also thinks of this as she is trying to sleep. Spirit Pat shows up, quoting “Te amo” and asking Leo if he has figured out who he loves. Leo seems to ask himself this question.

Sandy dreams that Dalia comes to her, calling her a traitor. She starts up, waking Matt. He offers to get her some water. When he goes to the kitchen, Val is sitting at the table. He wonders what she is doing awake in the early hours. She couldn’t sleep due to the call about her mother. The woman said many horrible things and said Val’s mother didn’t want her.

Matt thinks Val will find her mother—miracles happen. Look at him—he thought of Don Patricio as a father, and now it’s true. It’s the Call of the Blood! (Is this on the TN bingo card?) A mother will always try to find her child. The two orphans gaze into each other’s eyes and hold hands.


 

QT #74

Great stuff, Paloma.

After some thought I can barely believe that Eva would trust anyone -- even for dinero -- to shoot a sex video of herself and Art for Luisa's eyes only. What is to prevent that guy from blackmailing her with it later or making it public for his own amusement?

Leo being appointed to administer the estate runs against Mexican legal procedure, which rules that an executor/trix cannot inherit from the deceased. He would obviously have the most pecuniary interest in the estate. What this would do in the real world is make him suspect of having bribed a judge in order to screw Matt and Dalia (who don't deserve it) in this story and Sandy (who deserves worse).

I hope Sandy rats Leo out because that would make Val realize that she should ditch him.

If I were a rosarense voter, I would be less scandalized by Art sleeping with his actual wife than by his shacking up right around the corner with a much younger woman that he slaps around. Having said that, I hope Fotografo Fulano releases the video just to embarrass Sandy.

I doubt this guy would do that because it would expose Eva, who paid him. Art has not yet been exposed as a wife-beater, but I would like that to happen. He'd probably have a stroke.
