Marina calls over Vera. Vera walks over with a look of ambivalence.

Julio is talking to a man about plans for a project when he gets a call from Lola; she has been waiting for him since they agreed to meet. Julio tells her that he is busy with the Las Vegas project and when he reminds her that she is also part of the project, Lola tells him that she is no longer part of the Grupo Casares…she resigned. Julio is surprised and suggests they meet later...after he finishes the meeting. Lola gets frustrated since he is always postponing everything that has anything to do with her. When she adds that she is going to spare him from havings to make any more excuses, Julio is shocked that she is breaking up with him. Lola confirms that of course she is breaking up with him! She is tired of being in this love triangle which he does not want to get out of.

At the Casares garden, Vera asks Marina how she is. Marina replies that she is not well because she is having some problems with Pedro. Olmo notes that Vera is nervous, so Vera deflects that she feels bad about leaving Nico at the school. With a fake smile, Marina assures her that Nico will be fine. Marina then remarks that Olmo loves Nico very much…Nico is very fortunate to have the best father in the world! As Vera breathes heavily thinking that Marina is going to reveal her secret, Olmo mocks Marina, he thinks that she is jealous because she has a new little brother. Marina fake smiles again and tells him that she doesn’t know how to tell him. Vera’s breathing gets heavier while Marina pauses, then Marina adds that it is incredible to have a little brother.

Pedro calls Olmo to ask if Marina is there. After Olmo gives him a hard time because he doesn’t know where his wife is, Olmo admits that Marina is there.

Vera is rushing inside when Marina catches up to her. When Vera remarks that she thought Marina was going to tell Olmo everything, Marina tells her that it’s not to her benefit, but threatens that Vera better stay away from Pedro or she will tell her father everything. Pedro is hers and she will do anything to keep him with her! Vera lies as she tells Marina that she doesn’t have a problem with telling Olmo the truth; she thought keeping everything a secret was Marina’s idea…and that is why they made the agreement that they both keep quiet. Marina cackles that she is no fool…she would have to be a fool to believe that their relationship is in the past! She again warns Vera to stay away from her husband.

The D-Team confabs about El Chamaco and the Las Vegas project. When Ivana volunteers to oversee the Las Vegas project, Alberto interjects that she doesn’t have time for it. After they start bickering, Olmo orders them to stop…he is fed up that they argue about their marital problems when they are supposed to be talking business. Olmo then asks what the problem is; so Alberto mentions Ivana coming home late. When Ivana explains that she was taking care of Olmo’s request, Alberto questions what request she is talking about.

Out in the countryside, Vera meets with Candida! Candida thanks her because Vera was able to do in a few days what she couldn’t do in years. Candida then shares that she went to see her son who is a full-grown, important man now. When Vera asks what her son told her, Candida tells her that she didn’t dare get close; she only saw him from afar and burst into tears. Vera thinks that Candida will find the right moment to approach her son.

Ivana admits that Olmo asked her to get close to Octavio to find out what information he had. Alberto is in disbelief that Olmo asked her to get involved with another man. Ivana retorts that she is not his property! Alberto can’t stand to hear anymore. When he remarks that she probably enjoyed it, Ivana cocks her head and smiles. After Alberto storms out, Olmo tells Ivana that her treatment of Alberto wasn’t necessary…but he appreciates all that she is doing for the company. Ivana assures him that she isn’t only doing it for the company, she is doing it for him…and for the family, of course.

Vera is still with Candida and explains that she brought her there to meet someone—Pedro; and Candida is elated to meet the infamous Pedro!

Marina tells her horse that he is the only one who brings her peace. Olmo approaches and wants to talk. When he asks how she is, she vacillates before replying that she is well, but Olmo knows that if she is there, it’s because she is sad. When he asks what happened with Pedro, she confides that Pedro wants a separation. She thought that if she pretended that she didn’t remember, Pedro would feel obligated to stay with her…but she was wrong.

Now alone, Pedro tells Vera that he separated from Marina, he couldn’t continue living that lie or hurting her anymore. He has told Vera many times that he only loves Marina as a sister. Pedro then tells Vera that he loves her very much…and they kiss.

Olmo assures Marina that if she wants to keep her marriage, then it will happen. He will talk to Pedro alone. Marina forbids him from getting involved, she will get Pedro back herself.

Pedro asks Vera that they take the opportunity to leave together with Nico and start a new life. He knows she loves him, too and that she also wants it. When Vera reminds him that she is still married to Olmo and that she can’t leave him right now. Pedro wonders when she is going to tell him the truth about her relationship with Olmo. After he adds that he can’t sleep at night thinking that she is in Olmos bed, Vera assures him that nothing has happened with Olmo. Pedro reminds her that he will do the impossible so that they can be together, but she needs to tell him, here and now, the truth about her relationship with Olmo. When Vera remains quiet, Pedro shakes his head in disappointment; and as he walks away, he receives a text form Olmo telling him that he needs to see him.

Pedro enters Olmo’s study. Olmo wants to talk about Marina…who asked him not to talk to Pedro, but Olmo wants Pedro to reconsider his relationship. Olmo uses his relationship with Vera as an example (now don’t choke :-) and tells Pedro that intimacy can be very refreshing for a relationship, but Pedro doesn’t think his marriage can be refreshed.

Alberto goes to see Ramiro and tells him not to mention anything to Olmo about the license plates. When Ramiro reminds him that Olmo threatened his family, Alberto assures him that nothing will happen to his family and he gives Ramiro a bundle of money.


 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 51: Secrets That Bind and Blind Part 3

Olmo asks Pedro if Pedro has another woman…and warns Pedro that Olmo would be forced to put a stop to it. Olmo will do away with anyone who comes between him and Marina. Pedro assures him that there is no one else. His relationship with Marina died on its own….moreover, it was born dead. Olmo knows that Pedro is having difficult moment with memories of Tomas and maybe he is getting confused. When Pedro starts to leave, Olmo tells him that he has something to show him regarding his past. Olmo gives him a box of things Olmo has gathered related to Tomas, including Pedro’s adoption records. When Pedro sees the newspaper and asks who one of the men is, Olmo tells him that it is Fausto Galicia, his father’s murderer. When Pedro states that Fausto is dead, Olmo assures him that Fausto is alive…he is the one who kidnapped him…Fausto has been in hiding for many years. Now it is time that Pedro find him and avenge his father’s death!

Vera meets with Fausto and asks what is next to finish off Olmo. When Fausto procrastinates, Vera wants results now!! After Vera mentions that Fausto now has the shares he needed, Fausto tells her that Julio put the shares under his own name.

Pedro shows Olmo the video his father made. When Olmo tells Pedro that this only proves that whar he said is true, Pedro asks if he has any idea where Fausto is. Olmo denies knowing and adds that Pedro needs to find him and make him pay for everything he has done. After Pedro assures him that Fausto will be in prison for the rest of his life, Olmo insists that Fausto will get the punishment imposed from the Casares…and no one else! Pedro doesn’t think that any of them should go to prison because of Fausto. Olmo hisses that the first thing they need to do is get that rat out of the hole he is hiding in.

Fausto asks Vera if Olmo knows that he is alive, Vera isn’t sure, but Olmo is tortured with nightmares and he calls out Fausto’s name; she is sure Olmo blames him for losing his leg that was amputated. Fausto is sure that Olmo knows he is alive and probably looking for him; Fausto needs to keep a step ahead. Vera warns him that he’d better hurry because someone in the family already knows that Nico is Pedro’s son.

Most of the Casares family is having dinner. Faby is excited that Laiza is getting married. As Delia mentions that Laiza’s wedding is the next day, Gaston enters and over hears…and he turns right around and leaves.

Marina greets Pedro with a glass of wine…she hopes he is over his fit of stubbornness. Pedro assures her that he isn’t being stubborn. When he reiterates that they will separate and that he is going to leave for a few days, Marina loses it, curses herself for setting up a romantic dinner (which ends up the floor) and repeatedly yells that no one will love him like she does!!

Faby sneaks into Ivana’s bedroom . She finds some perfume and sprays a garment.

Ivana is on the job with Octavio. Octavio wonders what would have happened if Olmo hadn’t kept them apart...they would be together raising heir daughter. Ivana doesn’t ant ot talk about that so Octavio asks what information she has for him about the Casares. She tells him about the capital increases and that there will be other associates involved.

Olmo and Vera are together when he receives a message on his phone. After Vera leaves, Olmo looks at the message and sees a blood splattered leg with a message: “Do you miss it?” Olmo tries to call the number the message came from, but he gets a recording that the number doesn’t exist. Vera returns and asks what happened, but Olmo only tells her that it’s something that can be resolved.

Ivana tells Octavio that it’s his turn to give her info, so he tells her about info they got on El Chamaco receiving some money; so they are going to follow the money. Ivana hopes they do well and starts to slobber all over him.

Fausto tells Tadeo to pay the hacker and to tell him to get rid of any traces to the phone.

Laiza is having her bachelorette party. She receives texts from Gaston chiding her for getting married the next day.

Vera and Olmo are in bed when Olmo gets a call. He is asked if he liked the gift that was sent to him. After Olmo says, “Fausto!” the voice tells him that it is just a reminder of all that he can lose and the call is ended. Vera turns around and asks if he is okay. She asks who is Fausto since he mentions him in his dreams. After Olmo tells her that it is nothing to worry about, he tells her to go back to sleep.

Laiza enters her apartment when Gaston barges in. He kisses her and tells her that he loves her…he has loved her all his life! When she reminds him that he is having a child with Melida, Gas retorts that he made a mistake; he only did it to please his father. He wants to explain, but she yells that what they had is in the past. He then pins her to the wall and asks her if her heart doesn’t explode when they kiss. She can’t respond…and gives in to her exploding heart.

Vera goes to see Julio to ask why he put the shares in his own name. When Julio explains that he only wanted to protect her, Vera insists that he needs to return them to Fausto.

Faby confides in Santi that she found a perfume that is not the usual perfume that her mother uses.

The council meets. Olmo announces that Teo will start working as finance director. Alberto still isn’t too keen on the idea, so Olmo reminds him that the move brought them some much needed money.

Teo tells Alicia that he has to go to a meeting. Alicia tells him to wait; she has great news—he will be returning to his old job at the Grupo Casares. He thanks her but then tells her that Gonzo won’t talk to him. Alicia thinks it’s best so that Teo can look for someone at his level and culture. Teo defends Gonzo, but when she makes a derogatory remark, Teo retorts that he will not tolerate her insults toward Gonzo or her racist attitude.

At the meeting, Vera announces that Lola quit. When Olmo asks why, Ivan interjects that the reason is not important…and offers to help Vera with the project…she will dedicate all her time to it (woopee! NOT!) Olmo likes the idea so there will be no more discussion about it.

At Laiza’s apartment, Laiza and Gas are in bed cuddling when they hear Gabriel shout out that breakfast is ready! Laiza quickly tells Gas to keep quiet and hide in the bathroom…which he does just as Gabriel opens the door and tells Laiza that he will be waiting for her. As Gabe walks back to the kitchen, he passes (but doesn’t see) one of Gas’s sneakers.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 51: Secrets That Bind and Blind Part 5

At Grupo Casares, Olmo questions Melida since she hasn’t been around very much and Gas didn’t even bother to make the meeting. Melida doesn’t want to bother him with their problems. And she doesn’t want to rat on Gas. When Olmo insists, she confides that she has gone back to her apartment because she can’t tolerate Gas’s behavior—he goes out partying almost every night and comes back smelling of perfume.. But that isn’t the worst; what hurts her most is that he loves another woman. Olmo is surprised that Melida is talking about Laiza since Laiza is getting married that day. And he will not permit his son to treat his grandchild’s mother in such a way. After he asks her to return to the house, he assures her that Gas will not disrespect her anymore...and he will take care of Laiza.

Back at Laiza’s apartment. Laiza tells Gabe that she has too many things to do. After he leaves, Laiza asks herself what she did. She confronts Gas and tells him that everything was a mistake…it’s no use loving him since he is with Melida..and he is not about to leave his family, his work and his inheritance. She asks him to leave her house…and to leave from her life.

Olmo asks Alberto if Ramiro has found anything. After Alberto denies getting anything from Ramiro, Olmo confides about the messages he has been getting from Fausto. He wants Alberto to find a hacker who can trace the number. Olmo then asks Alberto if he is still upset about Ivana and Octavio, but Alberto feigns indifference.

Laiza is beside herself as she confides in Lola about Gaston,…and she doesn’t deserve Gabriel’s love! Lola tries to get her to calm down. Lola thins she did it because she really doesn’t want to marry Gabriel.

Pedro finds an apartment for himself.

Emilia is styling Laiza’s hair when Olmo arrives and asks to talk alone with the bride.

Pedro tells Marina that he found a place for himself. Marina knows she can’t make him change his mind, but she wants to ask him for one last favor—that he not make her go to Laiza’s wedding alone; she doesn’t want to explain to everyone that he doesn’t love her.

Olmo reminds Laiza how much he loves her and Delia…and how he has helped her all her life. And because they are family, he is asking her to stay away from Gaston. When she reminds him that she is getting married, Olmo hopes that she will be happy, but if she wants to continue being part of his family she needs to forget about his son. After Laiza stands tall as she asks if that was a threat, Olmo replies that it isn’t…he is just offering some advice…he doesn’t want anything to happen to her or her novio.

Olmo was on a real roll in this capítulo except for getting the image of the severed leg from Fausto. That being said, he now has Pedro with him against Fausto. With his threat to Laiza, he must think that he has Gastón right where he wants him, too especially if Mélida comes back to live in the house. I cringed when Olmo told Marina that all was fair in love and war. She already was on the edge before he told her that.

Can’t wait for the wedding. It could be a pressure cooker kind of event with everyone there.

RgvChick, there is nowhere for any errant detail to hide – the events were relayed and detailed perfectly and clearly by your all-seeing discerning eye. Very eventful episode which you captured perfectly. I so enjoyed the title and quote.

Relationships were fractured, some irreparably.

Laiza loves Gaston, right, wrong or indifferent. Sleeping with him the night before her wedding was bad enough but not calling off the wedding added insult to injury. Except for guilt what excuse does she have for breaking Gabe’s heart? All he has done is to love her. Laiza is as much at fault as Gaston! Both incredibly selfish as Laiza betrays Gabe and Gaston wants and is determined to have Laiza but damns the consequences. He is just unwilling to give up his family to have Laiza by his side.

“Julio is shocked that she is breaking up with him”. Has he been listening to anything Lola has said to him recently??

It seems a bit hard to swallow that Pedro still does not know why Vera is with Olmo, yet is dogged in his pursuit of her, despite not knowing what this disturbing detail could possibly be.

Does Olmo really think Pedro is going to avenge his father’s death? Pedro is as far from a revengeful thug as one can get.

After Alberto storms out, Olmo tells Ivana that her treatment of Alberto wasn’t necessary…but he appreciates all that she is doing for the company”. I always thought Olmo was blind to Ivana’s adoration. Now I’m wondering if he was indeed aware this entire time, waiting for the right moment to use and exploit her feelings.

I missed the beginning so was sorry to have missed the Pedro/Candida meeting – so happy she is out!

Leave it to Faby to find Ivana’s secondary stash of perfume!

Marina is getting sourer with each episode. Her petulant child routine is grating. And you are so right Jarifa, Marina is doing bad all by herself, she doesn't need Olmo egging her on!

So Olmo has threatened Pedro, Laiza and Gabe. Not bad for one evening.

It’s going to be a hell of a wedding! Will any vows be exchanged???

Diana, great description of Marina as a “petulant child.” Also, good point about Olmo who might have been playing Ivana all the way along. I was wondering the same thing. Olmo seemed to be in his element in this episode. He might turn out to be smarter than I thought. As for Laiza, she deserves what she gets from the sperm donor. She can join the ever growing losers’ circle.

Jarifa, I'm not now convinced that Olmo is any less of a monster than Fausto. Olmo "loves" his children but only if they do his bidding. IF Gaston does make the decision to break away from the family for Laiza, Olmo will turn on him and vehemently.

Marina is the bird with a broken wing who loves him and always does what she is told. I wonder what Olmo would think of her little flirtation. I don't think he would tolerate her leaving Pedro any more than he would tolerate Pedro leaving her.

Laiza is going to throw everything away - and for what???

Thank you, Diana and Jarifa! I always look forward to your comments—always filled with such insight and extraordinary observations.

Laiza has been such a disappointment. She is using Gabriel, plain and simple; and he has done nothing but love her and try to make her happy, giving in to her every whim. I can’t believe that the only “evidence “ that Gaston was there was a sneaker under that small table. It seems unfeasible that Gaston and Laiza would pick up their clothes before hitting the bed. Oh well, minor stuff compared to everything else going on.

I hope Teo has what it takes to defend his love for Gonzo. Alicia’s attitude is sickening.

So what is Faby going to do with that perfume? I thought she might find something more incriminating than a perfume bottle...like maybe love letters or a pic of Octavio.

Diana, you always find the best descriptors for these characters. “Petulant child” is perfect for Marina. So does she really expect Pedro to play the loving husband at the wedding? I guess it would fit right I n with all the other farce that will already be happening there.

Diana, sorry you missed the Candida scene. It was the highlight of the episode.

Jarifa, yes the wedding will be a pressure cooker...can’t wait for that lid to pop off!

I was sorry that Eddy saw Faby and Santi laughing and talking. Our biggest hope in truths being revealed is this dynamic duo so am fervently hoping nothing and no one is able to separate them.

Too bad Halise didn't have the smarts to approach Nare with remorse or some level of humility. Instead she approached her with her "new money" attitude of contempt...no hint of contrition. So Nare did what I hoped she'd do...continue on to court with her charges. Had no clue how Sancar would get out of testifying against his mom but he did it by sending the Elvan...to sacrifice herself. I hope Halise's "heart problems" doesn't turn into her get of jail free card. She doesn't deserve it. She has been rude, unforgiving and self righteous..showing no compassion or consideration for others. But I'm sure the whole family will now rally around her because of this fainting spell. She should go to jail and pay for what she did. Unless this is a true near death experience that leads to some remorse and recognition on her part...hope she is sentenced for her crime.

Embajador #35 part 1

Sancar drives Nare and Melek back to Kavruk’s to get their belongings to bring to the new house. They find Halise sitting outside with Zehra and Kavruk. I want to talk to Nare, Halise says, leave me alone with her. Nare tells Sancar it’s okay. Halise goes to greet her granddaughter. Melek hides behind her mom. Sancar sees this reaction and asks his daughter what happened?

Melek tells her dad, she wanted to hide me from my mother in a hotel. Uh…you were far away, Halise stutters, I thought… Sancar interrupts and firmly states, Melek must be with her mother, but she can also choose to be with me. Sancar picks up Melek and carries her into the house. Zehra and Kavruk follow. Sancar is anxious and Melek tells her dad, don’t worry, my mom talked to her when you were in prison.

Halise asks Nare, are you going to report me? Yes, she is. Halise tells her, don’t do that to me. Why not? Halise explains, if you do that, Sancar will have to testify against his own mother. Nare reminds Halise, the complaint is because you hired someone to attack me. Nare adds, I am not forcing your son to be a witness.

Yeah, right, Halise replies, nevertheless, you are still interfering between us. Sancar is unhappy, she continues, he had a fight with his mother and his brother, and he is cold to his wife. [all justifiably so] Halise has the nerve to tell Nare, thanks to you our family is falling apart. Halise wants to know what Nare is up to. Do you want to divide us and keep Sancar? Nare tells Halise she is not interested in Sancar anymore. Great, Halise replies, then find someone else and leave us alone.

Nare responds with frustration, I’m not a robot. I have the right to live, señora. Isn’t there a place for me in this country? Halise is a bit rattled at Nare’s response. She tries again—you shouldn’t report me. She plays the mother card—you are a mother, and I am, too. Could you separate me from my son? Halise offers, I’ll let you live here quietly if you leave him alone. [the gall of this woman!]

Nare steps closer to Halise and calmly but resolutely tells her, a mother never attacks another mother’s child, and no less, the mother of a little girl. Mrs. Halise, you are not a mother. A mother is not just having babies and that’s it. Same is the reason you think you own this land. I’ll see you tomorrow in court. Halise’s jaw drops and she’s speechless. Nare turns and goes to the house. [Brava, Nare, brava!]

Sancar has been anxiously waiting by the door. He looks at Nare and his mother behind her. Sancar asks, Kavruk, take my mother to the hotel, then take Zehra home. He looks at Nare, I’m taking my daughter home with her mother.

They pull up to the new house. Sancar puts the bags down outside, kisses he daughter goodbye, and tells her he will see her tomorrow. Melek wants her father to stay. I can’t, he tells her, this is not my home. It could have been, Melek says disappointedly, and she runs into the house. It’s sad, but true.

Sancar tells Nare to get some rest and turns to go. Nare stops him. I know you’re in the middle of this, she says, and I will forgive your mother but…you’ll have to stay away from here. Why are you protecting her, Sancar asks? He’s not making her choose. He tells her to go inside to Melek. He’s not asking for forgiveness. BTW, he spoke with his lawyer and he’s going to help Nare in court. You can trust him, Sancar says. He leaves.

Nare goes into the house. Their bed is a mattress on the floor. Melek is in the bed, still awake. Nare slides in next to her. They cuddle. So much for a happy first night in their new house.

Embajador #35 part 2

Prison dining hall. Loki is shooting threatening looks at Necdet who changes his seat to be near the guard. Loki’s still staring. The guard moves and Necdet changes his seat again. Dishonest Uncle takes notice. Loki nods at Necdet and Necdet nods back. Necdet changes his seat one more time. He silently signals to Loki, look at the guard. Yeah, Loki sees the guard. The guard leaves. Uh, oh, Necdet.

Dishonest Uncle calls out, ah the guard just left, Necdet. You were always by his side for your fear of death. What will you do now, Uncle laughs. Loki calls for “ammunition” and says, Necdet wants to play with us today. Fruit is taken from everyone’s tray. Looks like plums. Necdet says food is sacred to him and he will not play. Loki threatens him, if you don’t play, I’m going to play alone and you will take the blows until you can’t stand.

Loki’s friends stand Necdet against the wall. Necdets struggles, let me go. Better calm down, fatso, Loki says, let’s do something. I’ll let you eat what you catch because this will be the last thing you eat. Loki pelts him with the fruit and sings a song: now tell me how it feels to be dying here, Necdet. Taking your last breath feels good. Are you sorry, Necdet?

All out of fruit, Loki flashes a blade at Necdet. Look at the beauty I have here for you, he says. Necdet struggles. The friends clear a space on a table and Loki slams Necdet down on it. He climbs on top of Necdet and holds him down. Don’t do it, Necdet shouts. Loki says, I told you to take care of my loved one until I got out, right Necdet? You didn’t and that’s why I’m doing this. Say your last words. Loki raises his blade to strike.

Dishonest Uncle stops Loki, enough, leave him alone! Don’t do it! Loki tells Uncle this is a private matter, don’t get involved, go eat your meal. Uncle tells Loki, if you do this, you will regret it for the rest of your life. Uncle tells others to grab Loki. Loki tells Necdet he won’t get away with this. It’s not over. I will end your life, Loki warns.

The guard comes back to get Necdet for court. Necdet thinks it’s over but Loki has some parting words, there is very little time left, Necdet. When I get out, I’m going to drive you crazy.

Courtroom. The judge asks Nare, are these the men who attacked you? Yes. Did you press charges against them, he asks? Yes, all three, Nare replies, but there two more people I want to report. Necdet Yilmaz told the men to attack me and Necdet was hired by my daughter’s grandmother, Halise Efeoglu. Halise is worried, Yahya is pissed. [Yes! Yahya’s plan is dashed.]

The judge says these accusations are not in the file. Nare’s lawyer says, my client just learned they were responsible for this. How did she learn, the judge asks? Nare says she learned it from Sancar Efegolu, the son of Halise. The judge wants to hear from Sancar if he is here. Everyone watches the door for Sancar to enter. No Sancar. If Halise thinks she’s out of the woods, guess again.

The lawyer says that Sancar won’t be here today, but we have another witness, Gediz isikli. Halise turns to look at Refika. They call Gediz into the courtroom. Gediz winks at Nare. Gediz is sworn in.

The judge asks Gediz, can you tell the court everything you have witnessed? Gediz says that Necdet Yilmaz confessed his crime to Sancar Efeoglu and I was there. He said that Halise Efeoglu was the one who hired him.

Gediz turns to look at Halise, your son asked me to be here. What could I do? The judge reminds Gediz not to speak to anyone else while he testifies. The judge wants to know if Gediz was there when Halise confessed. No, he wasn’t. Halise and Yahya think they’ve caught a break but…Nare’s lawyer says they have another witness regarding that--- Elvan Efeoglu! .

Embajador #35 part 3

They call Elvan and she’s sworn in. Nare is pleasantly surprised. The Efeoglus are stunned. Yahya is angry. The judge asks Elvan, can you tell the court what you have witnessed? Elvan nods and drops the bomb, my husband’s mother, Halise Efeoglu, personally confessed to me she sent those people to attack Nare Celebi. I heard it from her own voice.

All rise. The judge says the trial will be postponed. The defendants will remain in custody. Necdet and Halise will be tried but won’t be arrested. Nare gives Elvan a grateful and satisfied smile.

Yahya grabs Elvan outside the courtroom. He shouts, what did you do?!? Nare and Gediz separate them. Elvan wants to talk at home. Yahya says, after what you did, do you think you can enter the place where my mother lives? Not sure why Elvan is surprised by this, but she is.

Yahya wants Elvan out of the house. Leave, he says, go with those you betrayed us with. Live with them. I can’t have you in my home. Are you crazy, Gediz asks? Yahya nods and says, let’s go mother.

Gediz and Nare help Elvan to a seat. They comfort her. Are you alright Nare asks? Elvan shakes her head no. They say justice shouldn’t hurt but why does it hurt so much? Elvan says, it’s tearing me apart. She cries. Nare is very sorry. Elvan tells her she shouldn’t apologize. She told Sancar this morning that she wasn’t going to do this for Nare, she wasn’t going to do it for anyone. She was only doing it for justice.

Speaking of Sancar… Where is he, Nare asks. He said he would come to the second trial, Elvan replies, he told me if you asked, I should say that he is seeking justice. What does he mean? Gediz thinks he must be after Akin.

And speaking of Akin…. he’s looking at the pics again. This time he sees Isabel’s pic. He takes a second look. Something seems familiar. He thinks back to meeting Isa in Barcelona. She wasn’t wearing a habit then. He calls Kerem, I need a ticket for Switzerland. I’m leaving in an hour. Hurry.

Zurich, Switzerland. Isabel is standing by Nare’s chair. She suddenly looks as if she’s seen a ghost. We see a pair of men’s boots slowly walking in her direction. The man moves closer, and her worry increases with each step he takes. Isabel comes face to face with Sancar Efe.

Isabel? She speaks to him in German. Stop the nonsense, you speak Spanish, he tells her. Nare…(he still has trouble saying her name)… I heard you speak to her in Spanish. That’s right, she admits, I speak a little of the language. And you also know who I am, Sancar says. You wouldn’t lie to me, would you? You’re surprised me to see me here.

Yes, I speak Spanish and I also know who you are, she tells Sancar. You are the evil man who threw Nare out and that’s the reason you are going to hell. Well, well it hurts to hear those words, he says. I don’t think he expected that. Good, she says, I hope it makes you regret. She walks away from him. Sancar stares, hopefully thinking about Isabel’s words.

Gediz takes Nare home. Elvan is with them. Melek is out with Kavruk and Zehra. Elvan tells Gediz she could have taken a taxi. And would you go to the mansion, Gediz asks? No, they won’t let me in, she says. Where can I go? To a hotel? Nare tells her you can stay with us even if we don’t have furniture. She takes Elvan by the arm. Elvan is sorry, she wanted to stand firm in court. Look at me now, she says. Nare tells her she is more than welcome, everything will be better when Sancar comes back.
Gediz tries calling Sancar. His phone is off. Nare is scared, where do you think he could be? Gediz sighs.

Sancar catches up with Isabel. I won’t take much of your time, he tells her, and I won’t leave without talking to you . Isabel tells him she can’t talk about Nare because of patient privacy. She is not authorized to tell him.

Embajador #35 part 4

Sancar says we won’t talk about Nare as a patient but as a friend. Is that better, he asks? Isabel insists she’s not Nare’s friend. Don’t do this, help me, Sancar says. I’ve seen you on the phone with her. Who else but a friend would talk after eight years? You were my daughter’s midwife and her mother’s friend. Am I wrong, he asks?

That’s right. I’m the midwife and I’m Nare’s friend. And I’m the one who will kick you off this property. Sancar makes his case. Can we do this for Melek? There are things I have to fix with her mother. There are things I need to know. He’s pleading with her—put yourself in my place. If you wanted to talk to someone, would it bother you if they refused?

You are quite persistent, Isabel says. Alright, you win, but you were not gentle about it. I must take care of my patients, she says, when I’m done, we will talk. Sancar thanks her and will wait for her here. She turns and walks away and is about to take out her phone. Sancar tells her she won’t be able to contact Nare to discuss what she should say. You won’t be able to, he tells her. He has the SIM card from her phone. And Nare doesn’t have internet either.

We get a flashback, Sancar snuck back into Nare’s house during the night and took the card from her phone! Of course, before he left, he paused to gaze at the sleeping mother and daughter.

You’re ruthless, she says. Sancar tells her he would do anything to learn the truth.
Nare is having trouble with her phone, it can’t read the SIM card. She asks Gediz for a needle. Gediz asks if Melek was playing with her phone. No, she never does that. Gediz says he will take the phone with him when he leaves. He asks who she was calling. Sancar, of course. I’m going crazy, she says, he told Elvan he was seeking justice. He told me he would not stop untiI he discovered the truth. I don’t know if he has already found something. Gediz tries Sancar again. No answer.

Elvan has made tea for everyone. She says Nare has everything to make the tea, except for the teapot. Nare says she didn’t buy because they got used to drinking bag tea. Everyone’s a bit down. Elvan sighs and announces, I will go out and get you a teapot. You know what they say, “don’t worry about anything because everything improves with a good tea”.

Gediz thinks it’s not necessary for Elvan to go now. Elvan says she will feel better if she goes out to do some shopping. Gediz offers to take her. Elvan tells him it’s better if he stays in case they bring the furniture. Nare thinks Gediz should go with her. Elvan really wants to be alone, she just wants to walk a little. She starts to cry on her way out.

Nare feels terrible. She tells Gediz, after destroying everyone’s relationships, I destroyed a good marriage. [a not as good as she thinks marriage]. We see Elvan walking and crying.

The Efeoglus return to the mansion. Gulsiye asks for Elvan. Yahya throws slippers and explodes, No! She no longer lives here with us! And her name won’t be mentioned in this house again! Yahya storms off to his room.

Gulsiye looks to Halise for an explanation. Halise starts with a rhetorical question, what happened to us Gulsiye? Why is our life in complete chaos? We have lost our reputation in court and our family can’t live under the same roof. Sancar threw me out and now I’m a fugitive. Yahya kicked Elvan out, too. Gulsiye is shocked. Halise continues, when did we make enemies? How did that happen.

Gulsiye has a great response, señora, they say the damage we do to ourselves is bigger than the damage caused by others. And you know that well, señora.

Halise feels faint. She drops her bag. My heart…. [she has one?] Menekse and Gulsiye ask what’s wrong. My head is spinning, Halise replies and falls to the floor. Help! Yahya! Yahya comes running.

And we are out.

Man is clueless. And still so in love with his future wife. He gets the sweetest look of love on His face when he watches them sleep.

I think Gonzo seems to be kind and fair though so only because of that, would doubt he is the one. It would be great though if she and her son (if not Gonzo, perhaps someone else we already know (?) could be reunited.

I’m right with you all on Halise. But, hierba mala nunca muere.

Not sure if Sancar deliberately avoided testifying because of Halise. He sent Gediz and Elvan. He knew that was all that was needed at this point. Elvan said Sancar would be there for the subsequent trial. He took the distraction of the trial as his opportunity to search for “justice”. So he went to Switzerland in search of the truth. Good grief, how much “truth” does Sancar need?

Yahya is a big dope. No wonder no one takes him seriously, except maybe the equally dopey Dudu.

I don’t understand why the judge allowed Necdet and Halise to remain free pending the trial.

Loki continues to entertain me.

Nina...I think the no jail time is related to the postponement of the trial...supposedly to investigate and to hear from Sancar. I guess this means Halise's fainting spell will pull on everyone's heart strings...and perhaps the charges will go away some how so I know this means no jail time...period. Here's to hoping to her heart finding some compassion, recognition and remorse. She needs to be get off that high horse, be contrite and acknowledge she was wrong...and stop looking down her nose at Nare and anyone else for that matter.

Things aren't looking good for an Elvan/Yaya reconciliation...right now. He's kicked her out the house and Dudu could complicate things. He's weak enough and seeking attention so he could fall for Dudu...or do something to hurt Sancar now that Halise is ill and he's annoyed that the trial will continue. Overall though, not a big fan of Elvan and Yaya getting back together after learning that she was more impressed by his mom...and than him....and he's such a weak minded person. She could do better....and so could his ego now that he knows what brought Elvan into his sphere. He needs to learn a thing or two anyway.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Elvan found another man...and got pregnant....so that the impotency issue was not her...but Yaya. That would be an ever bigger blow to his ego.

Akin is on the trail to Isabel...who is with Sancar now. Akin is manipulative so hopefully he doesn't harm Isabel so hopefully she doesn't have to reveal Nare's plan to save herself. But with Sancar being there...perhaps it saves Isabel. Don't know if these two are meant to have their big show down in Switzerland.

I am starting to hate all these characters now. Most of the ones who aren't evil are stupid.

Petulant child is a great description, both for Melida and Marina. Melida's nasty treatment of Delia was disgusting and would certainly have been adequate motive for Gaston's indifference. I get that she's done with him, but has anyone ever said anything about his inability to have sex with normal women? Was Laiza the only non-prostitute who could get his motor running?

I would also call Marina an aging child, like Aunt Pittypat in Gone With the Wind. She dresses in little-girl clothes, has a childish hairstyle and a childish voice, needs to be supervised and "protected" at all times, and gets anything she wants from Daddy by crying for it long enough. Someone get her a pacifier.

Does anyone else think that her threat to Vera could lead to her trying to commit suicide and take Pedro with her?

I had to laugh while i was watching those boots walking in slowmo.
I !oved the way The !ittle nun stood up to big old Sancar and defended Nare .

Elvan's saying about tea making things better made me think of a young student i had from Turkey. When i gave the class the assignment to describe a precious possession, he described a teapot that was a gift from his parents. He even drew a picture of it.

I had to laugh when Hellonwheels collapsed because she convenient!y landed on Gul.

ACUERDAS Episode 52 Drunk, Disheveled, Disgraced and Detained

The course of true love never did run smooth – William Shakespeare

Previously: Olmo tries to coat his poisonous venom with sugar, telling Laiza how much he loves and cares for her and her mother. And because they are family, he is asking that she keep her distance from Gaston. Laiza retorts that she is getting married! With a smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes, Olmo responds that he wants her to be happy but if she wishes to continue as a family member, she needs to forget about Gaston. Laiza further stiffens her spine and wonders if that was a threat? Olmo’s forked tongue says that it isn’t, he is just offering advice. He counters that he certainly would not want anything to happen to her or to Gabe!.

Laiza turns her back, trying to process the not so veiled threat as Delia come in. Olmo envelopes Delia in a bear hug and covers by saying he was wishing Laiza the best. He then tells Laiza to follow his advice. If she does, her life will be happy. Delia naturally wonders what the advice was, but Olmo doesn’t answer and leaves.

Alberto meets up with a hacker and gives him a paper, asking him to trace some calls and to track down a license plate number. He tells him the phone number belongs to Olmo, a money launderer. He pushes his luck, demanding triple the initial price. Alberto agrees but he is only to give him the information.

At the wedding venue, Gabe is happily taking pictures as the guests arrive. Vera is surprised to see Lola, asking her why she is there. Lola tells her she and Laiza are friends. Later, it is obvious that Vera and Lola’s friendship is fractured. Lola feels they should keep their distance as she is very hurt by everything transpiring.

The guests say “whiskey” as wedding photos are taken.

Elsewhere, Pedro and Octavio are drinking their shots rather than taking them. Julio tells Octavio that he almost slipped and told Vera about Fausto’s attempt on his life. Octavio warns him to be careful and adds that Vera wouldn’t believe him because Fausto is her father and the only one she can count on for protection. Julio immediately retorts that Vera has him! Julio admits that he still loves Vera. After Octavio asks about Lola, Julio replies that Lola is different...he loves her but that isn’t enough for her. Octavio reflects that the same is happening to him...he can’t even get close to his daughter. He toasts to his daughter whom he wishes he could tell that he would give his life for her.

Pedro and Vera sneak away for a few brief moments, Vera asking if Pedro is still angry. Pedro says this has gone well beyond that. He gives her a card saying she will find him there as they cannot talk where they are. Lola interrupts and tells them that the ceremony is about to start.

Laiza looks lovely in her dress with a short veil and pretty dress. Her dark hair looks lustrous and she and Gabe look happy, anticipating the upcoming nuptials.

Pedro sits next to his wife.

ACUERDAS Episode 52 Drunk, Disheveled, Disgraced and Detained Part 2

Gabe stares at Laiza adoringly. As the officiant begins the ceremony, an inebriated Gaston bursts in, dropping to his knees, flowers in hand, begging her not to get married because he loves her! When Gabe asks Laiza if she is going to tell the idiot anything, Laiza begs Gaston not to do this! Gaston wants her to run awayswith him. Olmo jumps up and tells his son to stop making a fool of himself. Gastón retorts that he and Laiza love each othe, which he repeats as he is physically removed. Gabriel turns to Laiza and asks if it’s true, “Are you in love with Gaston?”

Olmo is tearing into Gaston asking if he knows how much his little scene will cost them. Gaston doesn’t care! When Olmo reminds him that he is with Mélida, Gaston tells him that what he and Mélida have is something different; she isn’t his wife! Olmo curses and demands that he has to stand by his commitment. Gaston hisses, “You can’t stop me from being happy!” But Olmo thinks he definitely can! He will not allow that him to ruin the family’s reputation for his stupid whims.

Outside, Gabriel once again asks Laiza if she has something going on with Gaston. The judge interrupts and asks if they should continue. Laiza says “yes” but Gabriel says “no!” Lola sees a man videotaping the scene and asks him to not upload it and to erase it.

Gabe thanks everyone and tells them that the event is over. Laiza tries to stop him but Gabriel asks if what they have is more than her love for Gaston. Delia interjects that just because Gaston loves Laiza doesn’t mean that Laiza feels the same. Gabe gives her a forceful, “Please! Let your daughter defend herself!” Gabe will not be the third wheel in this! If she and Gaston want to be together then they can stay together!

Laiza is pleading with Gabe. She understands how he feels but she would have no doubts about marrying him. She swears Gaston will not bother them again. Gaston is still screaming and Gabe hits him. Olmo threatens Gabe, warning him this will be the last time he ever touches a Casares. Olmo puts an arm around Laiza and Gabe and walks them back to the officiant. Lola and Delia’s expressions mirror their shock.

Laiza and Gabe go through with the ceremony, and then take to the dance floor, both eventually smiling. Viewerville however, is not.

Marina and Pedro go inside. Olmo tells them that Gaston is the disgrace of the family. Pedro tries to object but Olmo tells Pedro to let him go; this is between him and Gaston. He then orders Gaston to call his woman and tell her to return home, which he does. Mélida gives him all the reasons why she is upset...she wants him to respect her. Gaston promises that he will change...and asks for a second chance. Mélida will think about it. Olmo tells him he did the right thing.

Gaston retorts that if he can’t be happy he doesn’t want to be a Casares! Olmo wonders if he won’t care if he disinherits him and runs him out of the family. Gaston is dragged away. Next, Olmo turns on Marina and Pedro and tells them the same goes for them! If they can’t follow his rules, they can forget about this family.

Laiza’s headache seems to be intensifying. Uh oh…

Teo’s office is ready. Alberto wonders if Teo minds that he is the one to welcome him and adds that Teo should have invited his granny to come give him accolades since she was the one who got him his job back. Teo strikes back, “yes some of us arrive at the hands of the grandma and others by the hand of their brother in law.”

Marina tries talking to Pedro but receives a stone faced stare in response. Marina wonders if Pedro will return home. When Pedro doesn’t respond, she tells him to leave.

Faby and Eddy have their first lover’s spat – he tells her she is drinking too much and Eddy also admits to being jealous. And thus, the only happy couple left join the circle of misery.

Gaston is putting up a fight but he is outmanned and outmatched. Alas, he has been taken to the psychiatric ward!! The doctor tells him that his father thinks this is best for him! Gaston curses 🤬

Olmo and Vera arrive home where a box addressed to Olmo waits to be opened. It appears to be the leg of a hapless animal with a vile note “in case you need a leg”. He knocks the box to the floor as Fausto calls to taunt him. Olmo threatens that he will find him! Fausto wonders if he will kill him like he killed his best friend. Fausto sneeringly asks if Pedro knows what he did to his daddy.

Tadeo tells Fausto that Ramiro is looking for them. Fausto knows that Olmo is behind that. Tadeo tells Fausto that Ramiro betrayed them.

As the wedding winds down, Pedro asks Delia about his father Tomas. He was a good friend Delia replies. Pedro asks if she knows anything about how Tomas died. Delia tells Pedro of the night Olmo brought him home and told her that Pedro was his son. Pedro can’t remember and he thinks Olmo made him forget. Delia assures him that Olmo only did what was best for him. Olmo would put him first even before Alma!

Alicia goes to visit Teo. She is impressed with his office which he is worthy of. When she sees Gonzo’s picture she frowns so Teo tells her to stop her attitude regarding Gonzo. Teo tells her that Gonzo is a very good person...and if continuing with Gonzo means that he will have to give up this life, he will do it in a second!

Vera comes into the bedroom asking if Olmo is all right. As he downs his drink, there is no doubt he is NOT ok. Vera calls Delia bout Olmo as she puts drops in his drink.

Marina makes a call to Andres.

Laiza’s headache is worsening and to exacerbate the pain, her father shows up! Delia arrives furious but Laiza asks she give them a few minutes. You look beautiful he notices. You aren’t my father Laiza states emphatically and asks him not to call her “daughter”. Ramiro only wants to give her a gift. It is a picture of him with her when she was a baby – it is the only photo he has of them. Laiza again emphasizes Ramiro is not her father no matter how much he tries!

Fausto is telling Jass that Ramiro is a traitor. Fausto has information on Ramiro and his new family and thinks they should be paid a visit. He wants Jass to kill Ramiro and tells him this is his opportunity to take his rightful place. When Jass wants to speak alone with Fausto, Fausto assures him that Tadeo is never there. Teo goes to see Gonzo since he isn’t answering his calls, wanting to share that he got his job back. He also tells Gonzo that he stood up to his grandmother, relating their discussion. He wants to get back with Gonzo.

Andres arrives at Marina’s, who is falling down drunk. Marina initiates kissing and for a few moments, Andres actually does try to resist. He doesn’t think making love is a good idea because Marina is very drunk and he doesn’t want her to regret it. Marina retorts that it has not been a good day and her heart won’t take another rejection. He can take her as she is or he can forget about her.

CUERDAS Episode 52 Drunk, Disheveled, Disgraced and Detained Part 4

Post coital, Andres is grinning ear to ear. Marina doesn’t quite have the same afterglow but seems subdued and thoughtful. Andres lets Marina see that she is clinging to a world that does not exist. Andres emphasizes that Pedro is not going to return. And she has some one there who is madly in love with her.

Vera arrives to Pedro’s with flowers. She brings up Marina but Pedro quells her concerns with kisses as the music plays. Words of love are exchanged. Vera sees her painting and says it seems it was just like yesterday. She asks if Marina agreed to the separation but Pedro wants to enjoy the moment. Pedro doesn’t care that it seems that everyone is against them; no one will ever keep them apart again. Yet, Pedro knows that Vera has to return to Olmo. Vera assures him that she has done nothing with Olmo and she will do everything to keep away from Olmo.

Ivana waits for the last few minutes to darken our screens. Her phone rings and Alberto reaches for it as she yanks it away, refusing to divulge who is texting her. Alberto warns her that she doesn’t want to find out what he is capable of. If she wants to play with fire, she’d better not get burned. It’s not enough that she is sleeping with that cop but warns her she’d better not mess with Faby because he will defend her, tooth and nail! Ivana tells him the text was from El Chamaco.

Vera wakes up thinking she is with Pedro but in the light of dawn, she is with her husband. Olmo rouses from sleep telling Vera that she looks beautiful as though she had a wonderful night. Vera asks if he is going to pretend he doesn’t remember so that she can tell him how wonderful he was last night.

Another unhappy meal with Faby caught in the crossfire between her parents. When she asks Ivana if she loves her father, Ivana assures her that she does but love changes.

Pedro asks Gonzo if he saw the video. After Gonzo confirmed that he did, Pedro asks if he can help him find Fausto, his father’s murder.

In the psychiatric ward, Gaston insists that he is not an addict. The doctor thinks that he has a problem with alcohol and starts suggesting some “in house” activities. Gas insists on talking to his father but the doctor tells him he can’t communicate with anyone. A huge orderly pushes him back. Gaston is a prisoner…

Gonzo agrees to send Pedro any information he can find regarding Tomas’ death and on Fausto. Teo asks Pedro if he has a thought about what he will do when he is face to face with Fausto.

And there we end….until tomorrow.

I was surprised Laiza and Gabe proceeded with the wedding which will cause even more heartbreak down the road.

What an episode!

Good scenes:

Orderlies coming for Gastón with a strait jacket in tow. Looks like he will be getting sober against his own will. Yawn!

Olmo getting the package with the animal leg in case he needed one. I admit I had to laugh since both men are so despicable.

Teo finally telling granny how it is with him and Gonzo.

Vera preparing that special tea for Olmo enhanced with a few drops of something.


Bad scenes:

Gabriel going ahead with the wedding to Laiza after she insists. What is the hurry? I ask once again. Is she pregnant? Did I miss something? Anyway, that all could easily end up backfiring on HER.

Laiza with the severe pain in her head, Are we on the road to a life threatening cerebral event? Hope not but why was it there?

Marina pounding back the tequila shots and sounding more nasally and annoying than ever. After this novela, I never want to hear that voice again. Olmo has two kids and one is more unbalanced than the other. She should get a bed next to Gastón.

Gonzo agreeing to send Pedro any info he can find on Tomas’s death and Fausto. I hope that doesn’t end up putting a target on him.

Needed:

El Chamaco to start squeezing the major players into some consequential action.

A little more speed in Pedro’s trip down memory lane.

I enjoyed your list and agreed with all your comments. I laughed out loud at "Olmo getting the package with the animal leg in case he needed one". "Despicable" IS the perfect word for both Olmo and Fausto.

Laiza's headache greatly concerns me. Yes, it appears something is on the near horizon and that her life is in grave jeopardy. I also had thought she was pregnant with Gaston's child but now? And it was completely unbelievable that both Gabe and Laiza would have proceeded with the wedding due to Gaston's fireworks.

Now both of Olmo's children have spun totally out of control. It's just a question of which one crashes first.

Fausto has already been Jacinto's ruination but fear he will yet propel his unloved son to create more carnage before this is through.

Embajador #36 part 1

Sirens wail as elvan leaves the store with the new teapot. An ambulance passes and she sees Yahya’s car following. Elvan runs. Halise is wheeled into the hospital. She had a heart attack.

Elvan arrives at the hospital and asks Yahya, what happened? He growls at her, how dare you come here! Elvan stands her ground. You threw me out of the mansion, but you can’t throw me out of the hospital. Is it my MIL? Gulsiye cries and says, she had a heart attack. Menekse blames Elvan. It’s all your fault. If you hadn’t testified against her, she’d be okay. Elvan drops the teapot.

Shelving has been delivered Nare’s house. The electrician is working in the kitchen and Gediz is with him. Nare’s cleaning and unpacking. Gediz tells Nare the electric is working. Will you call Sancar again, she asks him? No answer. Where could he be, Gediz? She worries. Gediz leaves the room and Nare continues unpacking.

Nare sees her diary from 2011. Bad memories. She opens to a page. Gediz comes back and startles her. She hides the book. Gediz sighs. He’s going to go out ask around if anyone has seen Sancar. I’ll leave you alone with your secrets, he says. He tells her the plumber is coming and he goes.

Nare calls Gediz back. I’ll go crazy if I don’t know about Sancar, but stay a little longer. Why? Do you want me to distract you so you don’t think about him? Do you want me to tell you a story? Nare says, I don’t want you to tell me anything. If you want, I can tell you the truth about a legend. Remember when we met on the plane? You asked me if I was the girl from the legend. We see the flashback.

I remember he says. Apparently I didn’t to turn into a bird, she says, but I did turn into everyone’s enemy. She holds out the book. This isn’t about the legend, but about the girl who was in the asylum. It’s my diary from 2011. She gives him the book and they go back inside.

Gediz wants to know why she is giving him the book. Because you were right, I can’t choose which secrets to tell and which to hide. It doesn’t work like that with best friends, says Nare. He sighs, she’s nervous. He opens it. He looks though January. The pages are blank. It starts on February 14, she tells him. He reads, “your daughter’s name is Melek, don’t forget that again”. Gediz has questions: why would you forget? Did this happen before? Is that why you write everything? Did you suffer brain damage in the fall? Tears fall from Nare’s eyes.

Flashback to the rehab center. Nare is in a wheelchair holding Melek. Isabel is with her. Isa wants to get her into a chair and asks her, how is this place (chair)? Nare doesn’t answer her but speaks to Melek instead saying, she asked me what I think but I don’t care. Isa asks, will this seat be yours? Nare tells her baby, she asks if this will always be my chair. Your mother left and your father does not exist, but do you want us to have this chair?

Isabel helps Nare out of the wheelchair and into the rocker. This is the first time you go out with your baby, she tells Nare, enjoy it. Nare repeats to Melek, this is the first time we went out together, she says let’s enjoy it. We are in an asylum because your mother attempted suicide and your father doesn’t know about you. But still we should enjoy the day, long live Nare and….

Nare panics. She forgot her baby’s name. She repeats, I forgot your name…. I forgot…. I forgot her name! What’s my baby’s name? what’s her name? What’s her name? Isa calms her and says, your baby’s name is Melek. Nare whispers, Melek. Melek I forgot your name. Please forgive me, Nare cries.

Sancar is waiting for Isabel to finish her rounds. He sits in Nare’s chair.

Embajador #36 part 2

Back to Nare’s rehab. Isabel gives Nare an envelope—read it, she says. It’s a paternity test result. Nare looks at Melek and says, she wants me to read it. We will find out who your father is. The paper says Akin Baydar. Nare sobs at the welcome news. Of course, he’s not your father; Akin is not your father. Your name is Melek and you’re my daughter, my angel, not Akin’s. You are mom’s beautiful angel and that is why your name is Melek.

Back to Nare’s house. Gediz says, you forgot because of that. Nare tells him, back then I only spoke to my daughter. Not even to the psychologist, to whom I told everything a year later. She told me I still hadn’t seen the DNA test. I didn’t know who the father was. I didn’t know if she was a result of the rape or not. Nare cries, I rejected my baby. Don’t say that, Gediz tells her, you never rejected your daughter. But I forgot her name, Nare says regretfully.

Flashback to rehab again. Isa brings a present for Nare. You are not talking to anyone, not me, not the therapist, no one. You know lots of languages but you only speak Spanish to your baby. Nare is repeating all of this to Melek. Isabel gives her a diary. Write down in this notebook what you want to tell yourself, Isa says. Nare says, write so I will always remember the two things I must never forget. Nare writes, “your daughter’s name is Melek; don’t forget again” and “never forgive Sancar”.

Gediz reads as he flips through several pages, “never forgive Sancar”. He tells Nare he’s very sorry. Nare asks Gediz to call Sancar again. Gediz sighs, you mean the Sancar you will never forgive? I said I wouldn’t forgive him, not that I wouldn’t worry about him, she replies. Gediz tries calling again.

Sancar’s still sitting in Nare’s chair. He sees Isabel with a patient. He gets up and stares at her. She must feel his eyes on her because she looks over at him. He nods to her as a reminder they have a pending conversation.

Sancar phone is still off. Gediz wants to go out to see if anyone has seen him. Nare thanks Gediz. She wants to call her father. She wants to know if her father gave info to Sancar. She remembers her phone won’t work. She blows up in frustration. Sancar is lost, my phone doesn’t work, the plumber is coming later! Gediz tells Nare to take care of the plumber and he will take care of the rest. He takes her phone and he tells her he can take her to her father later; he probably wouldn’t answer your call.

They do one of their fake mocking conversations, but at the end Gediz gets serious and thanks Nare for real. Why? He stutters and is about to answer when Nare has a terrible thought, what if Sancar paid my dad so he could find Akin! She rethinks and says, no, my father put that up for auction. He was going to sell that to the highest bidder.

Nare walks Gediz out. She asks him about the money for her dad. She tells Gediz, I haven’t convinced Sancar yet… and if I don’t, well…. Gediz says, you will. You are going to convince him, I believe in you. If I can’t convince him, she says, you won’t give me the money. If Sancar gives my dad the money before us, he will kill Akin. Gediz says, let’s see if this works. Gediz drives off. This is not happening fast enough for Nare.

Kavruk and Zehra pull up to bring Melek home. Zehra is crying. Nare asks Melek if she’s ok. Melek is fine but she says her grandmother is not. Halise had a heart attack, Kavruk says, Elvan called us. We have to go to the hospital, Zehra sobs. Kavruk says not to worry about Elvan, she’s at the hospital. Nare is in shock. Maybe she feels a little guilty, too.

Embajador #36 part 3

The Efeoglus hold vigil for Halise. A doctor brings them good news, Halise is stable. We found a block in an artery and put in a stent. She will stay in the ICU and if her health improves, she could go home tomorrow. The family is overjoyed.

Elvan takes charge and gives Gulsiye detailed instructions on what to bring to Halise while she’s in the hospital. Yahya will take you, she says. Gulsiye tells Yahya, let’s go. Elvan shoos Yahya, come on what are you waiting for? Yahya gets angry, why don’t you go Elvan? Because of you, my mother ended up here. Aren’t you ashamed after what you did?
Elvan stands her ground once again. You want a fight? Okay. When my MIL is discharged, you can say anything you want about me. And I will return everything you say about me with pleasure. But for now, get out of my sight because I have a mother in law to take care of. Yahya walks off with out another word and Gulsiye blows Elvan a kiss.

Zehra and Karvuk arrive at the hospital. Yahya already told her the good news. Where’s Sancar, Zehra asks? Ha. They look at Menekse.

Sancar’s right where we left him, in Zurich. Isabel comes to him and tells him he is sitting in Nare’s chair. She used to sit here with Melek all the time. Her chair? He gets up and stares at it. How long did she sit here? How long? Isa reminds him she will not talk about her patient. Ask her, she tells him. Sancar says, she stayed here long enough to teach you her language. That’s right, Isa replies. It was enough time to become friends and teach me the language, but I can’t answer you how long.

Sancar says Melek was born here. Why? Isa tells him, if I were a teenager and pregnant without knowing who was the father, I would give birth here too. Sancar tells her he went to Montenegro a year after he parted with Nare. They told me he was living with a rich man in Switzerland, he says. I called and a man answered. Na…(still not comfortable saying her name) I heard her voice. Tell me who it was. It was eight years, in May, during Hidirellez [Prophets met on earth and it is a big spring celebration.] Sancar is desperate to know, was she here or not? I need to know the truth!

Isa asks him, do you know Othello? Othello, Sancar asks? Who is Othello? Who is that bastard? He has a flare of jealous anger and gives himself a time out. He walks away from Isa. [Ay, Sancar, it’s obvious who the bastard is. It’s you.]

Melek is putting her clothes in the closet and she has a flashback to giving her clothes to Menekse in return for staying with her dad. Nare asks Melek why she is putting clothes in her mother’s closet. Because she wants the clothes together. Nare notices she’s saved some space. Melek says she’s saved space for dad’s clothes, too. She wants all three in this closet.

Melek knows that her dad is married and he can’t always be with them, but can’t he stay for a few days? Nare explains that this can’t happen. Well if he can’t come, she would like to have some of his clothes in the closet. Even if it is only two shirts. Can you do that? Sorry, no, Nare says and she comforts sad Melek.

Sancar has calmed down and goes back to Isa. He asks, who is Othello? You. You are Othello, she answers. Sancar doesn’t get it. She asks him if he knows Shakespeare. Yes, he does. Othello is a play written by Shakespeare. She thinks it would be “the revenge of the Arab” in his language. Ok, it’s just a play and he thinks he was angry about nothing.

Isa tells him Iago said these words, poison.. doubt is poisonous. When doubt enters a person, it burns like the fires of hell. Ok, Sancar is interested. He asks, who is Iago? Iago is the villain, Sancar, she says, l’ll tell you a story. He laughs. She starts the story.

Embajador #36 part 4

Othello is a general who falls in love with the daughter of a Venetian merchant. Othello is black, and her skin is white as cotton. White as cotton, he asks? [remember this is what he thought about Nare.] Yes, says Isa, Othello is as black as iron and Desdemona is as white as cotton.

Sancar asks does that cotton have feelings for the iron? Yes, Desdemona loves him too much. Sancar is getting into the story. Isa continues, but Othello can’t understand why she loves him so much. Do they get married, Sancar asks? Yes, they get married and they are very happy. Sancar smiles. However, Isa says, Othello has an enemy nearby. His name is Iago.

Iago is a very ruthless man, who knows both Othello's weaknesses: jealousy and above all, doubt. Sancar asks what does Iago do? Iago tells Othello that his wife is cheating on him and Othello decides to believe it. Sancar asks, just because he told him that? [really, Sancar, you need to ask?] No, it was a for a silk handkerchief. Desdemona always had a silk handkerchief. Iago decides to take it and leave it in the room of another man. That's why Othello believes Iago, she says, he finds the handkerchief.

She’s got Sancar going. He asks her, and then what happened? Othello murders his wife. and then he commits suicide. He’s shocked, he can’t believe it. It was all because of the silk handkerchief? Just for that reason, he killed his wife? That's right, she says. Isa lays it out plainly so he can understand, you drove Nare to suicide. And all because of a red ribbon, Sancar. He walks away from her, stunned, and sits on the ground.
Quick cut to Nare crying outside and Melek crying at the window.

Sancar walks back to Isa. He asks, she jumped off the cliff, right? She tells him to search his heart for the answer. What if I can’t because my heart is so dark, he asks? Then pray, she says, the light will come to you. Isa tells him she will bring him a gift and turns to go.

Sancar is in tears. He stops her, what happened to the enemy? Ah, yes, I forgot, she says, he pays. She continues, people who know the story remember the deaths of Desdemona and Othello. But what about Iago? It doesn’t matter. Sancar says, the iron was poisoned and made the cotton bleed and you say the poison is not what matters? I didn’t say that, Isa replies, you said it. Wait here. Sancar sits next to Nare’s chair to wait and think.

Meanwhile, Akin arrives at the rehab in Zurich. His accomplice welcomes him. Akin is looking for Sister Isabel. She’s in the yard. Akin heads in that direction.

Gediz brings Nare’s phone to a shop. He finds out it’s not working because the SIM card is missing. Damn, Sancar!

And we are out.

She'll say its pedro's sperm that done it. And pedro sperm will go "naw I Aint never been there". Lol.

Teo asked pedro if he's thought about what he'll do when he is face to face fausto? He'll just look at him like that. That's how he always looks no matter what. And we had to wait for tonight to get that stupid answer look?

I hope he jass don't kill ramires.
Cuz its not in him to be cold blooded like daddy. If he does this it will be the end of him and His marriage.
These are some of the most tragic dysfunctional families I've seen in
Tn in a while.

Diana, ditto to Jarifa's "You are a very talented writer." Your ability to descibe the emotions and scenes with such eloqunce is awe-inspiring, thank you!

I agree with all of Jarifa's good/bad/needed scenes. But I did feel a morsel of pity for Gaston who did too little too late. I can't stand Melida but if she agrees to return to the house knowing (she should know) that Olmo forced Gaston to apologize and ask her to return, she is more of an idiot and opportunist than I thought.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting tired of Vera keeping her mouth shut. Marina has that whiny high-pitched voice that none of us can stand, but Vera has her own unique way of whining...and it is geting to me.

How stupid of Olmo to believe that his performance was "wonderful"...and he believes that he doesn't even remember it. He's very astute in every other way..it just doesn't make sense.

Jarifa, "Laiza with the severe pain in her head, Are we on the road to a life threatening cerebral event?" Me thinks we are!

Nina, "...drunken marina...She'll say its pedro's sperm that done it. And pedro sperm will go "naw I Aint never been there". Lol." What a belly laugh that brought on! LOL

Diana, "No spoiler but I fear Jass is in for a bad end" I know I'm being mean but if Jass goes through with killing Ramiro, then he deserves a bad end...and he already killed Fuat! So what happened to all the prayers to his saint? Estupido! Emilia and Eddy can do very well without him.

dondi356, I'm running out of ways to express how much I enjoy your recaps. This was another outstanding episode and your recap did it justice.

I really like how the flashbacks are so appropriately placed. I was in tears watching Nare struggle to remember Melek's name. How frustrating that must have been for her...no wonder she kept writing "Never forgive Sancar" over and over again...and honestly, I hope she never does. He would have to leap tall buildings, climb over high treacherous mountains and swim across the vast oceans and then MAYBE she should forgive him.

"Elvan takes charge and gives Gulsiye detailed instructions" That Elvan...gotta love her! I really enjoyed watching Yahya leave with his tail between his legs after she ordered him to take Gulsiye for what she asked for.

And Isabel once again was brilliant! Telling Sancar the story of Othello was the highlight for me. But I still wonder if Sancar really got it..and will he believe Nare now? Will he kick himself to Timbuktu for being such a stubborn A$$.

Dondi, thank you thank you for another fantastic recap .This show Certainly knows how to keep us watching .

Melek just tugs at my heartstrings . All she wants is for the two people she loves the most to be together . She wants the three of them to be a happy family just like most children of divorce wish . I didn't understand what was being said while she was standing in the closet , but that was a clever scene , and the little actress is amazing . I just have to gaze at her . It's like looking at my sweet granddaughter.

I cannot believe how pigbeaded San is . I don't see Love for Nare when I watch him rant and rave . I see obsession . Gediz would be a much better choice for Nare because he has been protective , trusting, supportive , and loyal to her from the very start.Now there is a good man , my cup of tea.

Well, it looks like nasty, haughty Hellise will be back in that mansion soon again now that she has had a health scare and the family has rallied around her . Boo. Elvan is a force of nature . Yahya is a little man in every way and doesn't deserve a woman like Elvan .

I also feel a smidge of pity for Gaston. He has always played second fiddle to Pedro, and then all of a sudden that changed with a child on the way. But it's no excuse, he shouldn't have agreed to the insemination and should have broken from his family before things got that far. I'm not sure he excels in business but Laiza is a chef and they wouldn't have starved.

Laiza could have been happy with Gabe if Gaston had not given her hope. But his selfishness ruined everything.

Another outstanding epi followed by an even more outstanding recap...Thx Dondi. I really enjoyed both.

How clever of Isabel to use Othello as a parallel. So....how much more explaining ...research...or confirmation does Sancar need regarding Nare. If he doesn't get that he let her down.. her father is slime....she's been hurt and abused by Akin....I don't know what will do it. He's seen the video....spoken to the person who helped her mend...and Nare told him a hundred times..... Akin raped her and he's only added salt to the wound by doubting her. He's a fool if he goes back to her wagging his finger and accusations. \\

Will his confrontation with Akin bring up more doubt or Nare...or will he see Akin for the Lago he is and tear his head off. We shall see.

It appears that Elvan learned how to run things from Halise...without picking up her nasty way of looking down on people. Meneske...in the meantime is just dead weight. I agree Susanlynn...Yaya does not deserve her. She's decisive and fair and she's looking out for the MIL that continues to throw up her infertility and support the husband that threw her out of the house. None of them deserve her.

I knew it but hate that this incident will allow Halise to wiggle back into the mansion but hopefully she learns something from this heart scare...hoping anyway.

This show and Dondi...continues to deliver.

The Othello scenes are some of my favorites of the entire show. Yep, Nett, there is a parallel, we are watching modern day, Turkish Othello.

Before but did not know he was black. What a sad tragic story like their story. And it is now just hitting him. What he blamed nare for was his fault. He blamed her being the earthquake that shook
His ground. His ground was already shaking he blocked it out. He is now seeing his very big mistake he made. Making a bad situation worse for. I suppose if he were like his
Friend gediz the show would be over
Gediz is such a sweet man. If they are gonna give somebody before the show is over she had better be good to him.

This series has the two most disastrous weddings I've ever seen. I completely agree that Laiza could have been quite happy with Gabriel if Gaston hadn't come back on the scene to her. She could have escaped from this snake pit.

This episode especially makes me wonder who is the more evil. Olmo thus far hasn't tried to turn either of his sons into a killer but we can't count on that lasting forever.

What is he deal with Tadeo? He's beyond creepy.

I hope Octavio's statement about giving his life for Faby isn't a prophesy.

So the first DNA test revealed Akin as the father.....and we know that was staged by him...and whole heartedly supported by the spineless Guven. How depressed, distressed and tormented Nare must of been to believe that the rapist Akin was the father of her child. I assume we will find out the moment she realized that Akin was not the dad...but I sure hope she didn't spend 8 tortured years with him thinking she had to partly because of his manipulation about paternity coupled with lack of support by Guven. What a hell her life must of been even before he tried to attack her again.

The world is bigger and harder to understand than you think. You have to keep your mind as wide open as your eyes because almost nothing is what it seems. –Jonathan Maberry

We get a repeat of Gonzo assuring Pedro that he will relay any info he finds on Tomas’s murder and Fausto…but Pedro needs to be patient. And we see Teo asking Pedro what he will do once he is face-to-face with Fausto (though we all agree with Nina that Pedro will maintain his deer in the headlights look). After Gonzo emphasizes that he is doing all of this in the name of justice and not to support an act of vengeance, Pedro thinks that this will be very difficult. Teo agrees and adds, “especially since you will get the other side of the story!” Pedro thinks Gonzo is worth his weight in gold. Teo agrees, even though his granny thinks otherwise. After Pedro leaves, Teo notes that Gonzo is concerned; so Gonzo admits that he has been asking himself. “If Fausto was the one who started the money laundering and his partners were upset, why is Olmo alive and Tomas is dead?” (Good question, Gonzo! Go with it!)

Julio tells Vera that he will not hand over his shares to Fausto; Fausto has enough shares to continue in on the Council. Vera asks why…she is tired of having to sleep by the man who murdered her mother. When she asks if Fausto has threatened him, Julio responds that he is only protecting her and himself…if he gives Fausto the shares, it will leave him unprotected. Vera reiterates that she can’t continue by Olmo and Fausto is expecting her to trust him…she can’t stand it anymore especially now…that Pedro and Marina have separated! When Julio asks if she still thinks she has a chance with Pedro, Vera remains quiet, but Julio, crossing his arms, knows the answer.

Olmo sends Edson for Melida (yawn).

Julio wonders if Vera has told Pedro who her father is because when Pedro finds out everything, he will also find out that Nico is his son (Huh? Julio doesn’t know that Pedro knows…oh well, lets move on). Vera retorts that isn’t the point, the point is to help Fausto put Olmo in prison. When Julio tells her that Fausto has other plans, Vera wants to know what plans Fausto has. This time, Julio remains quiet…and Vera thinks that Julio wants to be a powerful as they are and walks out.

After Octavio texts Ivana that he needs to see her and she replies that she will see him later, Octavio gets a call from Julio. Julio thinks it’s time that he tell Vera that he is working with Octavio since Vera is thinking that Julio is a traitor. When Octavio advises against it, Julio demands to know what Octavio is doing to catch Olmo; so Octavio confides that he is seeing Ivana to get info from her.

Ivana is with Faby and admits that she and Alberto at the best stage of their marriage, but things will get better; Faby shouldn’t worry about them.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 53: Eyes Wide Open Part 2

Jass arrives to see Fausto who asks for his grandson. After Jass tells him that Eddy had other things to do, Fausto remarks that Eddy has a lot of talent and he will support him any way he can. Jass agrees to have a drink to settle his nerves, but Tadeo tells him he shouldn’t have one...Jass needs to have a clear head for the important task he is about to undertake. Fausto asks Jass if he is sure that he is ready.

Olmo assures Melida that she will be treated based on her status in the family. Melida has no doubt about Olmo’s word, but she thinks otherwise about Gaston. Olmo explains that Gaston will change since he placed himself in a rehab center. Olmo then gives her a gift—the keys to her own car with a chauffeur included. She is now a Casares and she will travel as such.

Ivana calls Vera and tells her that she left several recommendations for Vera’s proposal on Vera’s desk. Vera needs to review them. Ivana then gets a call from El Chamaco who is supposedly waiting to meet with her. When she tells him that she will be there at the appropriate time, El Chamaco tells her he will not be able to meet with her…because she is being followed. She is to return to her home and he will call her later.

Pedro and Teo confab. Gonzo thinks that the info to confirm what Tomas stated in his video is in the dead files of the company. Pedro has access to those files, but Teo thinks that if Pedro or even he access the files, it would raise suspicions…and that is where Pedro’s brother comes into the equation. (Fat chance, Teo! You need to get the bro out of the looney bin first!)

Olmo visits with Gaston who can’t believe he was registered as and addict. Gaston thinks Olmo is blowing everything out of proportion, but Olmo insists that he will not allow Gaston to ridicule the family…and if Gaston doesn’t comply, Olmo will take all of his credit cards; and Gaston may as well forget that he has a family…he will be disinherited! Gaston can’t believe his father would do such a thing, but Olmo assures him that he will…his heart will not be touched (and viewerville asks, “what heart?”) When Gaston asks how long he will stay there, Olmo replies, “As long as necessary.”

Ivana returns home only to leave again, but this time Faby notices how fancy she is dressed and that she is wearing a different perfume. After Ivana tells her she is going to the office and leaves, Faby quickly runs to her own chauffeur and convinces him that her mother forgot her phone…and she needs it NOW! Faby follows Ivana!!


 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 53: Eyes Wide Open Part 3

Olmo talks to the psych and asks about any secondary effects his meds might have…since he seems to be forgetting some things. The psych relays that his meds have no side effects related to memory, but because of Olmo’s PTSD that resulted from his kidnapping, Olmo might have some bouts of memory loss and disorientation. He gives Olmo’s some more meds to help with his memory.

Ivana arrives at the hotel and is on her way to meet Octavio…and Faby follows her!

Octavio and Ivana have concluded their tryst. Ivana asks if there have been advances in the investigation. Octavio replies that there hasn’t, but he has some questions. He asks who is Fausto Galicia; so Ivana tells him that Fausto was Olmo’s partner, but he is dead. When she asks what Fausto has to do with anything, Octavio tells her “nothing;” he was just reviewing some notes and Fausto’s name came up. Ivana and Octavio then discuss how neither one intended that they end up in bed, but both know they are lying. Ivana then asks Octavio why he was following her, but Octavio hints that it was Alberto who was following her. Octavio then gives her a gift; Ivanna doesn’t seem impressed.

Pedro enters the Casares home and sees Melida. When he asks for Gaston, she tells him that Gaston checked himself into a rehab center since Gas wants to give their relationship a second chance and he wants to be the father that their baby deserves.

Ivana leaves the hotel room as Faby watches from a distance. When Faby is about to follow Ivana, she sees Octavio and hides.

Vera takes Lola a peace offering—a cake. When Vera asks why she is so depressed, Lola comments that she has no job and no boyfriend. When Vera reminds that she quit the job on he own and she broke up with Julio, Lola reiterates that Julio is hooked on Vera. Vera assures her that what she had with Julio ended when she met Pedro. Lola does know and she is not blaming Vera; she just can’t understand why Julio continues hanging on to her after so many years.

Ramiro is in the furniture warehouse when he spots someone. He goes in a different direction, but it is of no use…he stops suddenly and his eyes open wide.

Lola wonders if Vera knows how much power she has over men---first Julio, then Pedro and Olmo…and all three would probably give their lives for her. After Vera assures her that she only loves Pedro, Lola wonders if Vera realizes that she could lose Pedro because of her quest for vengeance. When she asks why Vera doesn’t tell Pedro the truth, Vera replies that it is no longer necessary; Pedro knows that Nico is his son…and so does Marina who is set on winning back Pedro and threatened Vera with telling Olmo the truth. She lives with the fear that the bomb will explode anytime. Lola advises that she forget about Marina and tell Pero the entire truth.


 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 53: Eyes Wide Open Part 4

Jass pulls his gun on Ramiro who also is pointing his gun at Jass. As Jass puts his gun on the floor, he sees Tadeo behind Ramiro and Tadeo is about to shoot; so he warns Quick-draw Ramiro who quickly turns and shoots Tadeo in the shoulder (did the bullet go in through the same hole Octavio’s bullet made? Hmmm…) After Ramiro runs off, Tadeo starts to get up telling Jass that he knew he was a traitor! Jass gets his gun and kicks away Tadeo’s gun. As he points his gun at Tadeo, Jass tells him that his father cannot have two right-hand men. Tadeo doesn’t think Jass will shoot him because he is a coward, but he is wrong! Jass shoots him! And he keeps shooting to make sure Tadeo is a goner!

Marina arrives at Casa Casares as Ivana is about to take her gift out of the bag. When Ivana wonders if Marina and Pedro came together since Pedro is there too, Marina replies that they didn’t and gets nervous. When Ivana wonders if Marina is having problems with her marriage, Marina asks who told her. No one told Ivana but Marina’s face said it all. Ivana wonders if it’s because Pedro has a lover…Vera! After Marina denies that it is Vera, Ivana suggests that she talk to her father…he can help her. Just then Olmo enters and asks how he can help her. Marina deflects and tells him that it has to do with the penthouse. Olmo then tells Marina that he wants to see her and Pedro in his study.

Jass quickly gets into his truck panting. After he sees that he has 4 missed calls from Fausto he, hears sirens and ducks! He then leaves his truck and goes to the side of the building still panting.

Marina enters the study defending Gaston and telling Olmo that Gas is willing to change if he can leave the hospital. When Olmo retorts that Gas messed everything up for the love of a woman, Marina wonders what Olmo would do to keep Vera’s love. Olmo asks why she said that and what she knows about Vera. Marina turns away, but Olmo grabs her and asks why he would have to fight for Vera. When Pedro enters asking what is going om, Olmo demands that he should explain. Olmo sits them both down because nothing happens in the family without his knowledge. He knows that they are separated and demands to know why. He turns to Pedro and asks if he is cheating on Marina. When Pedro stands, Olmo grabs him and curses at him asking again if he is cheating on his daughter! Pedro gets away from Olmo and tells him he will tell him the truth, but Marina interrupts and tells Olmo that the truth is that she is the one who has a lover. When Olmo looks surprised, Marina wonders if they think she is incapable of having a lover…or that someone could be interested in her. Olmo calms down and responds that she loves Pedro so much. Pedro asks if it Is Andres. Marina explains that they had been so distant lately. When Pedro reminds her that Andres is ill, Marina retorts that she is ill too! And she has always been a burden to Pedro. After Marina leaves, Olmo wants to talk to Pedro man-to-man.

Jass wraps his jacket around his arm and shoots himself! He gets back in his truck and calls Fausto telling him that there were problems and he is on his way.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 53: Eyes Wide Open Part 5

Olmo thinks that Marina cheated on Pedro to retaliate against something Pedro did to his daughter would never do something like that unless she was desperate…because Pedro didn’t tend to her needs! When Olmo brings up the woman from San Gines, Pedro retorts that was left in the past…Olmo made sure of it with his threats! Olmo would do it again…and he would do it to anyone who would put his children’s marriages in jeopardy. Pedro thinks that they are old enough to make their own decisions…marriages have problems and couples grow apart and stop loving each other. When Pedro adds that they sometimes divorce, Olmo retorts that the Casares do NOT divorce. Pedro reminds him that his last name is LEDESMA! Olmo sits down and tells Pedro that he will fix things with Marina…whether he likes it or not.

Jass arrives with Fausto and tells him that Tadeo is dead. He gets very creative and tells Fausto that Ramiro had some men with him and there was a shootout…Tadeo was hit and Jass barely made it out. Fausto pulls his gun on Jass and chides him for leaving Tadeo behind…he should have gone back for him! Jass lies some more and tells Fausto that he tried going back but Tadeo was already dead. Fausto sobs as he calls out Tadeo’s name.

Pedro goes to the psych hospital to ask about Marina who made friends with a patient there. When the doctor tells him that it is normal that patients befriend each other, Pedro understands but he is worried because the relationship has gone too far; and Pedro wonders if he can trust the man. Pedro asks for information on Andres, but the doctor cannot give out confidential information.

Olmo asks Marina who Andres is. Marina tells him that he is just a friend. She then apologizes for letting him down and being a bad daughter. Olmo reassures her and tells her that he knows she just did it to get Pedro’s attention. When he asks if Pedro has a lover, Marina assures him that he doesn’t. Marina didn’t think she was capable of doing such a thing and apologizes.

Julio has heart to heart with Octavio about the loves of his life—the one he loves, rejects him and he can’t be with the one who loves him. Octavio has his own woes since they kept his child from him. He loves his daughter since he found out about her. Octavio then talks about Ivana who is now very different from the Ivana he knew.

Pedro tells Vera about Marina having a lover; he worries that Anders was also a patient. Vera thinks that if Marina revealed her affair to Olmo it was because she loves him. Pedro argues that it is not love…it is codependency. Pedro then has something important to show Vera.

Alberto sees the news report about the shooting. Ivana comes in humming and he thinks that her meeting with El Chamaco went well. Ivana tells him that the meeting was cancelled…because he was following her! When Alberto remarks that she shouldn’t enter the wolf’s mouth alone, Ivana yells that she is fed up with his jealousy. Alberto argues that it is not jealousy, but Ivana hisses that he just feels small because she is handling the jobs now…and El Chamaco will not be the one to decide how far she will go, she will be the one to decide how far he will take her so that she can get what she wants! After Ivana leaves, Alberto follows. Faby approaches as she listens to Alberto tell Ivana that they are still married. He has never cheated on her and would give his live for her! And his jealousy is justified!

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 53: Eyes Wide Open Part 6

Pedro shares the video that his father made with Vera. Pedro states that Fausto is a murderer who deserves no mercy. Pedro now understands Vera….he wants justice and he will make Fausto pay for what he did!

Marina is at the penthouse when she gets a call from Vera who thanks her for not telling Olmo anything. Marina assures her that she only did it for Pedro because she knows her father would hurt Pedro if he found out the truth…but that doesn’t mean Vera is in the clear.

Alberto tries to talk to Olmo about his concerns regarding Ivana getting involved with El Chamaco. Olmo thinks that Alberto is jealous because Ivana might sleep with a bad guy like El Chamaco. If Alberto’s marriage isn’t working it’s not his fault. Alberto retorts that it is his fault because Ivana is in love with him!

Pedro looks for Marina.

Olmo and Alberto continue their talk. Olmo wants answers about Fausto. If Alberto helps him with Fausto then Olmo will help him with Ivana.

Emilia is tending to Jass’s wound but he tells her that it’s nothing…he doesn’t need her. Emilia wonders if he doesn’t need Eddy either. When she reminds him that he grew up alone, Jass yells that he has a father who needs him! Emilia tells him that it is time that Jass leave her and Eddy alone because she will not allow his father to ruin her son’s life.

Anders arrives looking for Marina, but find Pedro who needs to have a talk with him.

Ivana and Olmo talk business. Olm needs to return some money to El Chamaco and it is time that Ivana meet with him again.

Pedro tells Andres that Marina is only seeing him out of spite. Pedro knows Marina best and she needs peace and calmness…and she cannot have that with Andres. Andres thinks it’s because Pedro thinks he is crazy…and that he is going to set fire to the hotels…he is going to kill everyone who crosses his path and he is going to kill himself!! Pedro maintains his cold look and tells Andres that he did not say that.

Olmo assures Ivana that things will go well. She is the strongest woman he knows. If she is able to get in with El Chamaco, he will never forget it and he will compensate her very well. Ivana will do whatever Olmo asks!

Vera confronts Fausto about killing Tomas…she saw a video! Fausto assures her that it was not he who killed Tomas…they were friends and partners.

Andres defends his love for Marina...he deserves to be happy with her.

Vera asks Fausto if he gave the order to have Tomas killed. Fausto denies it once more…and asks Vera to think about who stayed with the company after Tomas was murdered. Who benefitted from Tomas death the most? Who stayed with Tomas’s son and stole his life? There is no one to blame but OLMO! Tomas and he may have had their differences, but neither of them saw Olmo’s betrayal coming. Olmo got rid of both of them and funded the company with their deaths! And Olmo continues with his dirty business…his associate is El Chamaco!

Fausto’s acting, Juan Carlos Barreto, on hearing of Tadeo’s death was heart wrenching! Fantastic actor.
I don’t see any future now for Jass. He will loose his family and he will never replace Tadeo in Fausto’s heart.
I do wonder what Andres’ back story is and why he was in the clinic. In one scene I thought I saw a wedding ring on his finger? Not sure.

Why oh why would Pedro give a . . . care about what happens to Marina a at this point? He should be buying tickets for her and Andrés to go flying off to some exotic locale or better yet for him Vera and his son to go flying off.

As for Vera, does she do anything but sit immobilized waiting for something to happen? At least, they could have her painting more or doing something like telling Pedro the TRUTH already.

Alberto is a real piece of work. Was it living in the lap of Cáceres wealth that has kept him with Ivana all of these years?

I thought this was one of the most revealing and one of the best episodes to date.

The most shocking thing to me was Fausto’s raw pain in screaming out Tadeo’s name. It was a cry of sheer, excruciating loss. Of losing someone you love. I’ve always wanted to know Tadeo’s back story, I hope the writers will share flashbacks to illuminate the true nature of their relationship.

I was surprised by Tadeo’s demise almost as much as the fact Jacinto killed him. So, did Jacinto kill him to save Ramiro or to be rid of Tadeo? Perhaps a combination of both.
Does Andres stand a chance between Pedro’s cold cross examination and Olmo ensuring that Marina and Pedro stay together?

Faby Drew has now uncovered more than she dreamed she would. Who will she confront – Octavio or Ivana. Speaking of “Great! Ivana agreed to be pimped out” was excellent Jarifa!

“When Vera asks why she is so depressed, Lola comments that she has no job and no boyfriend” made me smile. Sorry Lola.

RgvChick, it never occurred to me that Tadeo might be Fausto's son! Interesting thought - wow and you may very well be right. Whatever their relationship, this is the first time Fausto has showed he actually is capable of caring. What is startling is the depth of emotional agony he displayed.

I'm still looking forward to seeing what happens every night. I am very concerned for Emilia and Eddy. And I have to admit, wish Jacinto's path had gone differently. He cannot atone for Fuat but if he gives his life to save another's, his soul will have some peace.

I always want the fairy tale happy endings, and my hopes are pinned on Faby and Eddy, Teo and Gonzo, (yes) Laiza and Gaston and Gabe and Lola.

Rosa: Steve: No, didn't see it. I had an online Zoom meeting. I'll be so glad when Disenando tu amor starts up. A lot of the Rosa de Guadalupe plots don't add up, some of the so-called "morality" is dubious, and sometimes (as in the episode of the Mexican village that was persecuting that young woman whose husband was missing in action on a military maneuver) it gives a terrible representation of Mexican society.

Akin enters the yard. He is stunned to see Sancar sitting on the ground. Lucky for him, Sancar doesn’t notice his arrival. Akin ducks behind a bush and watches.

Isa comes back, she has changed into street clothes. She has to get a patient. She gives him a copy of Otello in Turkish. She bought it for Nare. She left it here. Isabel says, she taught me her language with this book. Sancar flips through it. Passages are underlined and he asks who did it. Nare did. Sancar reads an underlined passage.

(Othello speaking about himself) " Then must you speak of one that loved not wisely, but too well. Of one not easily jealous, but being wrought, perplexed in the extreme. "

Isa has to go but she tells Sancar he can stay and read. Sancar is upset. Why are you leaving without telling me anything? I already told you too much, Isa replies. Sancar says he needs to know the truth. No, she tells him, you need to find yourself again, you have been lost. You need to heal. Don’t look for it outside but inside of you.

Isa leaves Sancar and Akin goes to follow Isa. He almost makes it out but Sancar spots him at the last second. Sancar takes off after him. Akin is about to catch up to Isa, when Sancar intercepts him. Sancar grabs Akin, puts his hand over his mouth and pulls him behind a car. Isa turns and sees nothing.

Sancar has Akin pinned up against the car. So the hunter has ended up hunted, Sancar says, what the hell are you doing here? Panicked Akin says he hasn’t done anything. Don’t lie, Sancar shouts, I swear I will kill you. What did you do to the woman that I couldn't even touch? Answer me!

Believe me Sancar, I have done nothing, Akin responds. Sancar belts him and yells, don’t lie to me! Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me! I’m telling you the truth, Akin says, I have not done anything. Sancar belts him again, you bastard, I'm going to kill you, I'll kill you!

Tell me, why did she leave Montenegro, Sancar shouts, answer! Akin tells Sancar, not to believe Nare's lies, please don’t. Sancar shouts, I don't believe you or Nare! I don't believe anything you tell me! Sancar continues to shake Akin by the collar, look me in the eyes and tell me what the hell you did to her and why did she leave Montenegro? Akin is sticking to his story and asks Sancar, why do you keep believing her lies?

At this point four security guards pull Sancar off Akin and restrain him. Let go of me! Sancar struggles with them and still wants an answer from Akin.

Akin drops the bomb, she left because she stabbed me. What? Akin says, I tried to stop her, but she stabbed me, and that's why she ran away. What the hell did you do to her, Sancar shouts. Why did you want to stop her? Because she wanted to prevent your wedding, Akin replies. Sancar doesn’t believe this. She didn’t know I was getting married, Sancar says, she didn't know about the wedding. He shouts, I swear I'm going to kill you!

Akin continues his stream of lies, she knew it. Nare told you lies. She stabbed me and then ran away. She thought I was dead. Don’t believe the lies, Sancar, please.
Sancar tells Akin, I will ask her when I return to Mugla, but first I will kill you! Sancar manages to break free, punch a couple of guards and makes another run at Akin. Sancar is tased and falls to the ground.

Unfortunately, Sancar has unwittingly given Akin useful information--Nare is in Mugla.

Embajador #37 part 2

Nare and Melek are having pizza for dinner and the doorbell rings. Melek happily runs to answer because she thinks it’s her dad. It’s Kavruk. She’s disappointed but invites him in for pizza. Kavruk tells Nare he looked for Sancar all day and found nothing. He asks her if she found out anything. No, she says, he's disappeared.

Nare asks about Halise. Kavruk tells her she will be fine. Nare asks if he has seen Gediz. No, Gediz did not go to the hospital.

Gediz is paying a visit to Guven. Guven is getting out of the pool and Gediz hands him his robe. Guven asks why are you here, what do you want? Gediz answers, Sancar. Have you talked to him today? Guven mocks, what happened, you lost your partner? Gediz replies, no, but I’m starting to lose my patience. I know about this deal with Sancar and I want to know whether or not you gave up Akin.

Guven says, then you also know that I'm waiting for my daughter to agree to a deal. Ah, good, your daughter still means something to you, Gediz says. Forget Sancar and make a deal with your daughter. Guven senses that Nare means a lot to Gediz. He surmises the money will come from him.

Gediz warns Guven to stay focused on the target. He can settle or not. Gediz walks away. Guven calls him back and says if he decides to make the deal with Gediz, he’s got something important for him to know. Sancar called me last night, Guven says. And what did he say?

Calm down, Guven says, I didn’t say anything about Akin. He asked me about Melek, where she was born and I gave him the name of the hospital, but I didn't tell him that his daughter was really born in an asylum.

Gediz calls Guven an idiot. Why? Sancar has a right to know where his daughter was born, Guven says. Gediz is ticked, you shouldn't have done it. You shouldn't have spoken to Sancar. If you say a word, I won't give you anything, I promise. Gediz leaves.

Melek is refusing to eat because her father isn’t there. She tells her mom and Kavruk they can eat, she’s not hungry. Nare picks up a slice to eat. Melek gasps, don’t eat, I was testing you. Nare asks, why are you testing me? She wanted to see if food would pass her mouth. Melek tells her mom she will not eat if her dad is not there. Nare tells Melek that food passes down the throat and food has passed her throat for the last eight years, so what is the problem now? [very clever, Nare]

Kavruk says the problem is that her father is not here. Nare warns Kavruk not to agree with Melek, and don't talk about the legend either. Ever since Kavruk told her, she's been obsessed. Kavruk folds his arms and winks at Melek. Exasperated Nare says, now I have two children at home.

Doorbell rings again and Melek runs, my dad is here! Another disappointment, it’s Gediz. I thought it was my dad, Melek says. Gediz says he can be like dad. He makes a voice: how are you, princess? Did someone make you angry? I will unleash my wrath on them. Melek laughs and Nare says her third child has arrived. Now she can open a daycare. Gediz says no, that the marina will pay her much more, about a million euros.

Nare tells Gediz she still hasn’t accepted his offer. Gediz tells her the rival is about to win.

Gediz greets Kavruk. Kavruk asks if Gediz has heard about Halise. Our Gediz is always ready with a joke, did she rob a bank, did they take her to prison? Nare interjects, no, she had a heart attack. Gediz is surprised, how is she he asks. Kavruk tells him she will be okay, she had a blocked artery, but nothing happened to her heart. Gediz says, obviously not, it's made of stone. Melek laughs and Nare tells her it's not funny, don’t laugh. Get a plate for Gediz, while I go talk to him.

Nare and Gediz go outside to talk. Gediz tells Nare that Sancar asked where Melek was born. Did my dad tell you? Yes.

Embajador #37 part 3

Nare questions Melek, did you tell your dad about Isabel? Melek thinks back. Yes, mom, I told him she was my midwife. Melek worries, was it wrong? Nare tells her it's okay, I was just curious. [but it’s not okay]

Nare goes back outside to Gediz. Sancar saw me talking with Isabel then he asked Melek about it. Then my dad gave him the name of the hospital. Gediz realizes that Sancar went to Switzerland to find the hospital. Nare panics, this can't be happening, why did you do this, Sancar. She cries.

Nare asks Gediz for her phone, she needs to talk to Isabel. Gediz will give her the phone but it won’t work without the SIM card. What? Sancar took it before he left. He didn’t want you to contact Isabel. Nare is on the verge of a panic attack. She tries to calm herself, everything will be fine, Sancar will never discover the truth, Sancar will not kill Akin, he's not a killer. Calm down, calm down.

She asks Gediz for his phone and he gives it. Nare panics again, she can’t remember Isabel’s number. I knew it and I forgot it! See that, Gediz? I knew Isabel's number and I forgot.

Gediz tries something: you’re not the only one who forgets. I also forget many things. I remember someone….I remember a woman who is very cool, intelligent, and very sweet. One day the woman stabbed a psychopath and left with her daughter to stop Sancar's wedding. The mansion was in complete chaos. She recently she saved my sister from slavery by freeing her of that psychopath and making him disappear. That man looks for her all over the world. Now that woman has a mission to prevent Sancar from becoming a murderer. So far everything is going very well, but I'm not sure if you are that woman because you can't even remember a simple phone number. That’s why I doubt.

Gediz makes Nare laugh through her tears, ay, Gediz. Gediz asks, what is her number? Nare remembers and dials Isabel.

Isabel is relieved to hear from Nare. She confirms Sancar was in Zurich, just what Nare was afraid of. What happened, Nare asks? He pressured me to speak, but I only told him some things. Nare takes it that Sancar still doesn’t know the truth. Don’t worry, Isabel replies, he does not know.

Sancar is at the police station and he is allowed to make one call. Nare’s convo with Isa is interrupted by a call from Switzerland. Isabel, I have to hang up, we'll talk later. Gediz takes the phone. Hello?

Sancar tells his partner he’s been arrested in Switzerland, could you come get me? Gediz asks, what the hell did you do now? I'll tell you when you come.

Back inside and Melek has fallen asleep without eating. Kavruk asks, what's wrong? Sancar went to Switzerland and he’s been arrested, Nare says. Kavruk says now that our Sancar is in the hands of another country, our territory is safe at last. They all laugh. Nare shushes for Melek. They continue laughing.

Gediz calls the lawyer, they arrested Sancar in Switzerland, can you believe it? I'll buy you a ticket to save my friend and bring him home. I appreciate it.

Nare has been laughing so much she’s short of breath but the laughter fades into anxiety.

Sancar arrives at the airport. He stops when he sees Nare running towards him from a distance. Gediz is following. It seems that she will happily greet him. No, she rips into him and hits him. How dare you, Sancar? Why did you do this? He grabs her hand—stop hitting me. Nare claims he is making her do it. It's his fault. Just yelling at you is not enough!

Gediz calms her down. He addresses Sancar, are you insane? What's wrong with you? Isn't this country enough for you? Wherever you go, they always arrest you. Sancar says they can talk about that another time.

Embajador #37 part 4

Nare asks Gediz to wait for her in the car. Sancar says it’s not necessary, he will take her home. Nare’s not having it. Sancar insists, i'll take her, I also want to see my daughter. Gediz thinks it’s better if he waits in the car.

Nare asks for her SIM card. Sancar hands it over with a smile. I can't believe you did this, she shouts, I didn’t think you were capable. How dare you steal my cell phone card? How dare you go to question isabel? What kind of man are you? Sancar tells Nare that Isabel didn’t help him at all but she gave him away. Isn’t betrayal a sin? I'm going to go crazy, Nare shouts, I swear I'm going to go crazy.

Sancar says that’s nothing new. You can be calm, she did not tell me anything, Nare still can't believe what he has done. She says he never listens. He goes off to investigate as if he is a detective. She asks, what kind of unstable man are you?

Sancar answers, and you’re not very stable either. You stabbed a man. He can tell by the stunned look on her face that this is true. Be honest with me, he asks, did you do this to Akin? He’s shouts, what if he had taken your weapon and hurt you? She’s trying to catch her breath and think of how to answer. She finally says, your mother is in the hospital. What? She had a heart attack and she's in intensive care. He tells Nare to wait for him at the house, they have to keep talking. He rushes off and Nare is relieved.

The family is gathered around Halise in her hospital room. Halise asks if has everyone left. There must have been a lot of people who came, right? Menekse says no. Halise laments, it’s because of what happened in court. That's why no one came to see me. What the family has feared is happening? [only your fear, Halise] Yahya tries to assure his mother, no one has found out that you are here yet.

Halise notices Elvan, how dare you come, you have no shame. Zehra asks her mother to calm down. Yahya tells Elvan to go. You are not welcome here, get out. Did you forget I threw you out of the mansion? Elvan says it's true that he kicked her out, but she is still part of this family. Her work won’t finish until her mother-in-law recovers.

Elvan starts to help Halise get ready to receive guests. They can't see her in this state. Halise says thanks to you they see me as a criminal. Elvan strikes back, it’s not because of me, but because of you. Halise calls for Menekse to help her and she gladly pushes Elvan out of the way.

Sancar arrives at the hospital. He kisses his mother’s hand. I thought that you would not come, she tells him. Sancar wipes a tear and says he was busy. Are you okay, he asks? Yes, and she’s on medication. She will be able to go home tomorrow. Sancar is relieved but he still looks troubled. I'll tell Kavruk to come and take you to the mansion, he says. To the mansion, Halise asks? You’re going to forgive me?

Sancar says, listen, I never told you the deal. No, Halise says, you did not. You were always very closed off to me. When you were little, you never cried on my shoulder. She cries and reaches out to touch his face. He backs away and says, do you really believe that I have forgiven you just because I let you come back? I still don't know how to forgive you. Halise understands that she was wrong.

Sancar questions this, after everything you did, are you really admitting your mistake? [real question is will she change?] Sancar tells his mother they will talk later. He hasn't seen his daughter in two days and misses her a lot. He will come again. He kisses her hand and leaves.

Outside the room Sancar asks, why did she have a heart attack? Yahya says how can you ask that question with so many traitor around our mother? Gulsiye speaks up, Yahya kicked Elvan out of the mansion. He said she could not live with us and we couldn’t speak her name. Mrs. Halise fainted and asked, what’s happening to this family?

Sancar approaches Yayha, did you kick Elvan out of the mansion? Yahya says, if you can kick out your own mother, why can't I kick my wife out? Sancar grabs his brother by the collar and growls, how dare you speak to me like that? I'm going to break your face! Zehra begs Sancar to stop and gets him off Yahya. Sancar continues to shout. What did Elvan do to you, why did kick her out of the mansion? Did she steal from you, slander you? Who the hell do you think you are to treat my SIL like that?

Yahya reminds him that his beloved SIL betrayed her MIL and her husband to defend Sancar’s lover. Sancar shouts, shut up! Our mother is to blame, she set up an attack on another mother. Your wife was brave to defend her. Yahya accuses Sancar of not valuing his own mother. She is the most precious thing that Yahya has. Yahya walks away.

Elvan cries and Sancar comforts her, everything will be fine, don't cry. Zehra cries along with Elvan. Sancar tells both, everything will be fine. [Notice Menekse all by herself in the background…lol]

Once they have calmed, Sancar asks Zehra to bring Halise to the mansion when she is released. Zehra asks if this means he has forgiven her. No, but it's not okay for her to stay in a hotel if she’s not well.

Sancar tells Elvan to go back to the mansion, too. Elvan asks, but what about Yahya? Sancar says, don't mention that idiot, you’re coming back with us. Elvan says it's not that I don't want to return to the mansion with you, you know I love my family, but I'm not going back. I’ll stay until my MIL is better and then I'll go. Sancar asks where will you go? Elvan looks over at Menekse and says, Nare helped me. She was so kind and offered me her house. I’m going to stay with her. Sancar walks away.

Menekse goes after Sancar, where are you going? Home to change clothes. Menekse wants to go with him. He wants her stay at the hospital. He’s going to go see his daughter afterward. Menekse says, don't go see her, let her stay with us for a few days, if you want. But don’t go. She hugs Sancar who does not reciprocate.

She continues, Elvan has said many things that have made me doubt. What did she say to you? She says, "where is your husband", "you don't even know where he is", " he is not coming home, where is he staying? ". None of that matters to me, she tells him, I got used to the way Elvan speaks, but….but what, Sancar asks? Well, I am beginning to suspect, too. Are you staying at Nare's house? Sancar responds, I'm going to ask you not to ask me that question again.

Kavruk has been watching Melek, he tells Nare that Melek didn't eat her lunch. Nare says she didn't want to have breakfast either. Nare asks Melek why she’s not eating. She won’t eat until her father comes. Kavruk tells Nare, what could i say? The girl loves her father. Nare knows.

Atike, Ayse and Necdet are shopping. Ayse is ragging on Necdet about punishment for what he has done. Atike says Necdet isn’t the only one who deserves punishment, Mrs Halise should be punished, too. Because of her, my son went astray.

Ayse says, the lady had a heart attack and I’m not at the hospital, I'm shopping in the market with you. Excuse me, your son must pay for all the bad things he has done. Atike tells her, people say no one will go to visit Halise to wish her a speedy recovery… This conversation is interrupted by the appearance of Loki.

Ayse greets him, when did they let you out? Loki’s fresh out of jail and he wanted to come straight here.

Loki greets Atike. What should I do, tell your son to get well, or tell your daughter that everything will be fine? Atike whispers, better you should go now. Loki gives Necdet a hug and asks, better if tell you that I hope you rest in peace?

Atike nervously laughs and says, what crazy things you say, Loki. It seems to me that you are in a bad mood. Don't play with innocent people. I never play with innocent people, Loki says, I only get involved with sweet people. I had a very sweet girlfriend, but they gave her to someone else.

Ayse asks, can you explain what he means by that? Who is that sweet girlfriend he’s talking about? No one answers. Loki says, what are you waiting for? Loki mentions about Halise being in the hospital. Is her DIL with her, he asks, do you think I can go visit her? Ayse says that no one will go to see her, why are you going? Even her daughter-in-law left. What? Loki thinks she’s talking about Menekse. Where did she go? Who did she leave with? No, not Menekse, it’s Elvan, Necdet says. Ok, then, he’s going to visit Mrs. Halise and kiss her hand. I’m sure she misses me, he says. Atike points out Loki’s father, isn't that him? Loki takes off.

Stupid Yahya is at the marina telling all his troubles to Dudu. My wife betrayed my mother to defend Nare and she didn't care about her husband either, he says. Dudu tells Yahya, you are a great man, why wouldn't your wife care? [good grief, this is sickening] Yahya thanks her. She’s so kind. He continues, Elvan wanted to be my mother's daughter-in-law, I don’t even know if she noticed me because she just wanted to be a part of the family. That is what she said. Elvan could not be more blind, Dudu says, because you would have to be so not to notice that mustache.

Yahya asks, does my mustache look so bad? [no, it’s the person attached to the mustache] They continue to flirt with each other. Can I use my recapper’s right here to FF>>?

Gediz shows up and he hears the laughing out on the balcony. He goes out. He’s not pleased. He asks them, are you having fun out here? There is chaos inside and here you are calm. They were just talking, Dudu tells him, they thought he wasn't coming today. Gediz asks, do you have permission to talk during work hours? We didn't hire you to waste your time, Dudu. Get back to work.

Yahya asks why he treated Dudu like that. Is it just because she listens to my problems and it lifts my spirits? Wrong, says Gediz, it's not her, it’s you I treat like this. You’re stupid, you're married! Do you know where your wife is? Gediz makes a whiney voice, for you Elvan is only the woman who dared to betray your poor mother, right? What is your problem?

Yahya tells Gediz there is something he should know. The ambassador's daughter deceives them. Sancar, Elvan, and even you, are all so blind that you believe her and protect her over your own family. Yahya adds, Gediz you should ask yourself first, what happened to you?

Gediz says neither of you two together reach Elvan's heels, Nare, your brother and I know this very well. Gediz warns, if you don't keep calm, Sancar will make you pay for your mistakes and I will give you a beating, stupid. Gediz leaves. Then that's how everything will be, Yahya says to himself, we’ll see.

And we are out.

I dont like tbat San doesnt immediately push Meanie away when she gets him in a bear hug.

The scene of the grownups laughing !oudly next to sleepiing Melek was weird. Dont wake a sleeping child.

I want to clarify something from yesterday’s recap. Sorry if there was any confusion. The DNA results were for Akin but they said he was not the father of Melek. [thank goodness!] Nare was crying tears of relief and/or happiness. In the original she said she named her daughter correctly--Melek. That was the name she told Sancar she would give to their daughter. She told her baby, Akin is not your father.

To answer Hugo, this TN is still airing in Turkey. It will finish on May 11 with a total 52 episodes. Turkish episodes are about 2.5 hours each. Season one in Turkey ended on the 17th episode. We are currently on the equivalent of Turkish episode 11. We are guessing there will be a break and a second season will start.

A scene was cut from last night. A song plays and we get a montage of Sancar reading Othello in jail, Nare by herself and with Melek, Elvan and Yahya at the hospital, Muge crying on the patio with Gediz watching her.

RRRGGGG Sancar! Isabelle referring him to Othello was brilliant and it's too bad we didn't see that scene where he is in prison reading the play. I did notice that he was suddenly and inexplicably released. Thank you, dondi356, for your explanations and background. They are truly a help!

Sancar dislikes Menekse because he is still in love (well, obsessed) with Nare, but I never understood why he consummated his relationship with the former, especially at that point in time. I don't know why Menekse is getting so much protection from the other snakes Halise and Necdet. You would think they would all turn on each other. I hope Melek tells Sancar how Menekse framed her for the cut-up dress because I want to see more reasons for Sancar to hate Menekse and make sure he doesn't have relations with her again.

Melek the character and the actress -- extraordinary. Also the young actress dubbing her! I love every scene with her!

Also I'm kind of surprised that Elvan testified, less surprised that Sancar let her take the rap while he was gallivanting off to Switzerland on one of his dumb fact-finding missions. Maybe if Yahya had already been canoodling with Dudu, her motivation would be more clear. She is a real justice seeker and I appreciate her for that, but I wish she had developed a stronger tie to Nare and had more disgust with the in-laws. She really has nothing outside of the Efeoglu house, so that was an enormous risk for her to take on behalf of Sancar and Nare. She is completely homeless and penniless, even clothes-less, now. I applaud her bravery but that was way too much for Sancar to ask of her.

Sancar looked devastated after he read Othello.

They cut a very brief scene of Sancar and the lawyer in the airport coming back from Switzerland. The lawyer said something about Sancar being deported. Maybe he can't go back to Switzerland now.

Elvan is a gem. She spoke with Sancar about testifying but he didn't force her. She said that she didn't do it for him or for Nare, she did it for the sake of justice.

Thx Dondi for clarifying about the DNA test...I misunderstood it as the test pointed to Akin as the father and Nare was ranting that he wasn't out of disbelief. Wheww...glad she didn't suffer that nightmare scenario at all. That would have been hell.

I'm glad you've seen both versions Dondi because your insights and missing scene info is so helpful. I can always tell when a scene has been cut but can never tell what it was. It did appear that Sancar was in the airport out of nowhere so I assume Uni cuts the scenes for whatever reason they see fit....but sometimes the patio misses out when this is done.

The sleavy Guven is willing to sell NAre out to the highest bidder...can he get any lower. Nare knows him well...he was and never will be a father. Just waiting for his anvil.

They were right about Halise...there's a stone and big void in her chest where her heart should be. Instead of being concerned about her health...the damage she's done to others and atonement perhaps...she's worried about visitors or the lack of and the community gossip. She deserves nothing but an anvil filled with loneliness.

Elvan is too committed to this undeserving family. They don't appreciate her but she's the bigger person in this situation. Hopefully they come to realize her value but I still hope she leaves them for a better life and family. But I agree she took a big risk to testify against her MIF for Nare...for the sake of justice. Or maybe she did it for all the times Halise humiliated her for being infertile and childless. Either way, Sancar gets to save face with both Nare and Halise with Elvan's sacrifice. He owes her big time.
