"MEPS" Episode 112 (Part XIII)
156.) It seems that Psycho Barbara plans on upping the ante against Franco Santorro & she tells Artemio over the cell phone that Franco seems to be trying to turn the Elizalde's against her.

I wonder what does our bloodthirsty sociopath have cooking up for Franco ?

157.) Inside the Elizalde Mansion: we see Tomasa welcoming Franco into the hacienda. What could possibly go wrong ?

158.) Back at Casa Santorro (Las Animas): While Steve, Jr., (AKA The Gringo from NY St) continues to press Jackass #2 Camilo for answers if he wants to marry his "niece" Lovely. We see a flashback from Jackass #2 Camilo being ordered by his older brother, Jackass #1 Anibal to get married to Lovely ASAP.

159.) Sounds like Jackass #2 Camilo is intrigued & curious about why Steve, Jr., is asking him all of these questions & we hear an explanation from Steve, Jr., he's super-protective of his "niece" including the $$$$$.

160.) Redhead on the other hand, sitting in the large HUM-V vehicle she's driving about being the bored, dutiful wife of Damian Gallardo (AKA Mooching Damian) while she's really thinking about Franco Santorro.

161.) Inside the living room: more nagging from Damian & Mommy Gallardo: Fast Forward.

162.) Franco meets with Daddy Elizalde & Psycho Barbara inside the office. Another evil thought-bubble from the Psychopath StepMommy with more insults.

163.) In the meantime at Casa Santorro: Steve, Jr., is flustered by Venus/Lovely's worries about their plan & the aftermath of the so-called engagement to Jackass #2 Camilo.

164.) Mags gives Jacinto a kiss & blessed him for good luck while he's assuring his wife that he & Eduardo/Franco know the plan down to the T. Good luck at that buddy!

165.) Bravo HQ: Artemio scolds Liliana for entering his office & taking the picture of his late mother, Ana Gregorio (we're going to see a flashback on this woman down the road soon).

Before being scolded, Liliana was busy talking to her ghost friend, Ciro Palafox.

166.) Grupo Lactos: Florecita is back working at the receptionist desk (per orders of Redhead) & just as we all predicted: Jackass #1 Anibal is super PISSED OFF & nags, nags, nags about not being consulted by anyone on bringing the woman he HATES back.

167.) Back at Bravo HQ: Artemio knows Liliana is not smiling (due to his threatening & scolding her) about how his late mother used to be a smiling, happy woman, etc.,

168.) The insults launched between Psycho Barbara & Franco escalate.

Back at Grupo Lactos: Jackass #1 Anibal & Priscila get into a heated argument over.... CREPPY VLADIMIR. She has the gumption to FINALLY tell her stupid-ass hubby that it wasn't Florecita who leaked the files to Jaime Cordero at ProLasa------it was Vladimir all along & that's why she demands Jackass #1 Anibal to fire the creep!

Now back in the outskirts of Mexico City: more insults launched between Psycho Barbara & Franco!

 

Entre El Amor Y El Odio #5 (#4 is in the previous thread)

- A worker tells Octavio he needs to leave to see his wife. Octavio gives him the keys to one of the cars.
- Frida tells Cayetana that the only thing that matters to her right now is Octavio.
- Fuensanta is jealous that Jose Alfredo will marry Ana.
- The doctor tells Magdalena that Rodolfo needs to know he’s terminally ill.
- Octavio tells Josefa he’s leaving but before that she wants to visit the factory.
- At the factory office Marcial tells Ana about Frida being Octavio’s old girlfriend. Octavio and Josefa arrive.
- Ana tells Josefa about her upcoming wedding to Jose Alfredo.
- Octavio tells Marcial he’s returning to Miami and that Marcial should be the one in charge of the factory. Octavio says he thinks Josefa should/will leave something in her will for Marcial.
- Moises tells Manuel that Josefa wants to know Leonela’s secret. The night Leonela died Manuel had left the priesthood. Manuel witnessed the accident that killed Leonela. He saved Leonela’s baby and she begged him to take care of it before she died. Ana is Leonela’s daughter.
- Fernando was devastated when Leonela married another man.
- Josefa asks Octavio if something is wrong. Octavio admits he’s in love with Ana. He heard Ana say out loud that she’s in love with him too.
- Josefa notes both Octavio and Ana are currently engaged to other people.
- Magdalena asks Jose Alfredo if he thinks Ana reciprocates his feelings.
- Marcial muses that soon he’ll own everything the Villarreal family has. Marcial says someone else, not Frida, will become the lady of the Villarreal mansion when he gains ownership of it.
- Jose Alfredo is sure one day Ana will love him as much as he loves her. Ana tells Consuelo her feelings for Octavio.
- Frida tells Octavio that her aunt Cayetana will arrive soon. She says nothing will separate them this time.
- Rodolfo asks his doctor to tell him the truth.
- Gabriel wins his fight.
- Octavio is confused about his feelings for Frida and Ana. Josefa tells him to potentially prepare to pay a steep price.
- Manuel is at confession with the priest. The priest tells him he should find Ana’s father, Rogelio. Manuel says that the day Ana will meet Rogelio is still far off.
- Jose Alfredo decides to break things off with Ana. He will always be by her side as a friend.
- Octavio decides to tell Ana his feelings towards her and end things with Frida.
- Gabriel agrees to a rematch with the guy he beat for double the money.
- Ana tells Manuel she won’t marry Jose Alfredo.
- Octavio arrives at Manuel’s house to see Ana.
- Jose Alfredo tells his family that he and Ana aren’t marrying.
- Ana and Octavio are together with her horse. He tells her they will no longer deny their feelings for each other.
- Ana wants to make sure Octavio knows she wasn’t Fernando’s lover. He finally believes her.
- Tobias tells Marcial that Ana quit her job at the factory. Marcial hopes Fernando left something for him in his will.
- Josefa, Octavio and Ana are present for the reading of Fernando’s will. The will reads that Octavio will receive full inheritance if he marries Ana.
- Octavio thinks Ana knew of the clause because she really was Fernando’s lover. He says he will never marry her.

 

QT #64, Part 1

- Scenes of Mat & Sandy having a romantic picnic are intercut with scenes of Val posing in ridiculous outfits with a tree. No doubt they would love to trade places.

- Tirso & Fantasma fail to show at morning roll-call, which two of their fellow prisoners find hilariously funny. Either that or the guard just reminds them of Jackie Gleason.

- Chacho and his duck decoy fetch up at his aunt's house, where he is reacquainted with his younger cousin Maclo, who used to be a chubby four-eyes in braces. Needless to say, she's all grown up and showing some skin.

- While Mat's in the shower again (is that in his contract?), Sandy sends romantic picnic photos and bitchy commentary to Val. Why doesn't she just block her? She did it to Mateo quick enough, and she actually LIKES him.
 

QT #64, Part 2

- Sab sees Leo coming through the door of the hacienda and pretends to have a flirty conversation with Carlo. Leo smirks and accuses her of slumming, but he's obviously annoyed. Basurto turns up with the news of Tirso's escape, and Leo orders the boys to lock & load again. He just loves doing that.

- Mat & Sandy fight in numerous locations -- well, all of them -- and she announces the stress is giving her terrible cramps and she wants to go home RIGHT AWAY. Mat wants to call a doctor, but of course that's not on.

- Vicente goes to question Basurto about the dead thug with the wife, but Basurto blows him off. Artemio comes in and acts vaguely threatening. He's currently unemployed, right? So where's he going to publish his findings -- on social media? Vicente thanks him for the suggestion and mentions he has a LOT of followers.

- Remi suggests to Val she ask Leo about her money. As in, where is it.
 

QT #64, Part 3

- Aaron checks Sandy over at home and advises her to find a good gynecologist. Not that Uriel guy, who has a bad reputation. She says she's the mama, and she can pick her own doctor.

- Dalia congratulates Aaron on breaking up with Minnie.

- Sandy calls Art to tell him about the DNA test. He does a lot of absent-minded chest-clutching.

- Sandy tells Mat she's totally behind his search for his bio parents. He recalls that she was totally against it back when they could have been just anybody, but now that Los Montes are involved she's all for it. It seems to be just dawning on him that she might be a tiny bit of a gold-digger. Is it time for another shower?
 

ECDLP #7

- Marcelo wants to know where Federico met “Adriana” and points out that Fede just said Adriana has many commitments on her time. Federico says he will introduce her to Marcelo later that evening.
- Magdalena apologizes to Rebeca. Magdalena wants them to be close especially since Adriana is gone and Lucia, as Adriana’s daughter, is about to marry.
- Magdalena decides she wants to return to Puebla with Rebeca. Rebeca says they’ll have to wait until the next day to leave and she will pick Magdalena up.
- Marcelo tells Milagros he’s leaving soon for a job in Spain.
- Alonso tells Rodrigo he hopes that Rodrigo proves himself worthy of Lucia and can make her happy.
- Rodrigo visits his friend Sergio. Sergio wants to celebrate Rodrigo’s last days as a single man. He tells Rodrigo that he’s lucky to marrying into the Gaxiola-Murillo family. Sergio has had a crush on Nora for a while.
- Marcelo arrives at his workplace to find his girlfriend, Daniela, waiting in his office. She already knows his plans to move to Spain. After some complaining she agrees they will talk more about it later at her house.
- Alonso still wonders why Lucia didn’t go to the city with Rebeca. Lucia says they don’t appreciate Rebeca enough for everything she does.
- Rodrigo arrives so he and Lucia can take their wedding gifts or their apartment. Lucia’s friend Leti calls her crying saying she wants her to come to her house.
- Nora offers to help Rodrigo. Lucia declines the offer on his behalf but after Nora reminds her of what she said about them not being enemies, Lucia relents.
- Rebeca and Federico are dining out. When she excuses herself to the restroom, Alonso calls her phone.
- Leti has surprised Lucia with a bachelorette party. One of Lucia’s friends, Gloria, makes an inappropriate comment about Nora teaching Lucia how to please Rodrigo in bed. Leti tells Lucia that Nora turned down her invitation to the party.
- Rodrigo asks Nora why she’s jealous of Lucia.
- Federico knows Alonso is “Adriana’s” husband. He wants his brother to meet her. Rebeca says their relationship is only sex. She says she has had many men in her life. She dumps her glass of wine in his face and leaves.
- Rodrigo tells Nora he always thought she hated him. Nora says she is jealous of Lucia because Rodrigo preferred her over Nora. Nora kisses him and starts to remove his clothes. He follows her to the bedroom.
- Marcelo has doubts about his relationship with Daniela progressing further. She kicks him out.
- Rebeca calls Alonso back. She tells him about Magdalena coming back to Puebla with her. Alonso thanks her for going to get Lucia’s dress.
- Federico goes to Marcelo’s apartment. He says “Adriana” humiliated him. Marcelo was worried precisely about something like that happening. Federico agrees to stay the night there.
- Amador is surprised to learn that Rodrigo was with Nora. They can’t believe Brigida had always wanted Rodrigo to be with Nora.
- Early the next day Federico has left the apartment and returned. Rafaela notices something is off with him.
- Daniela tells Milagros she doesn’t think Marcelo wants to marry her. Milagros tells her not to give up
- Federico warns “Adriana” that if she doesn’t go to see him he will tell Alonso everything. He wrote down the number when Alonso called her.
- Lucia goes to Rodrigo’s house and notices he’s acting strange.
- Rafaela tells Milagros that Federico showed up briefly at the house and was acting strange.
- As Federico is waiting for “Adriana” he holds up a gun.
- Milagros calls Marcelo to tell him about Federico then says she discovered the gun that belonged to Marcelo’s father was missing.
- Rebeca meets Federico at Marcelo’s apartment. Rebeca says they can’t be together and she won’t leave her husband. Federico is too young for her to have a serious relationship with.
- Federico grabs her tightly for a kiss which causes one of her earrings to fall out (PLOT EARRING)
- He pulls out the gun and points it at her for a moment then points it to his own temple and fires.

Thanks, UA, for covering this epi. I had to work late and haven't had time to rewatch on Univision. At least I can keep up with events.

Good stuff, Blue Lass.

Aha! More evidence that Sandy isn't pregnant: Two refusals to seeing an ob/gyn and running back to Uriel. And her little bitchfest going after Val again. I agree that Val should block Sandy.

Carlo is the one who's slumming in that example. Sab has been with Leo, his dad, and Tirsi. Who else will fall out of the woodwork next?

We should soon begin getting clues to Lorenzo's parentage. Maybe he and Leo were switched at birth?

I'm getting tired so I will post more tomorrow.

Rebecca is a vampire. She sucks the life out of everyone in her orbit. If Magdalena thinks she has reformed she is gravely mistaken. She is going to really freak when she realizes she's missing an earring and where she likely lost it. She deserves all the anxiety resulting from that.

Marcelo's mother is a real piece of work. Another classic case of a parent who overprotects a troubled child instead of getting him real help.

You’re welcome Urban! I totally agree with you. I remember bits and pieces of what Milagros was like from watching ECDLP the first time. And same goes for Daniela. She’s super whiny.


 

Amor Y Odio

If anyone is actually reading the recaps I’m posting of Entre el Amor Y el Odio just wanted to say that as you’ve noticed, while two episodes are airing a day (10 per week) I’m posting each episode recap individually. Obviously that means I’m behind in recapping so whatever episodes still need recapping by each Friday I’ll try and post the rest during the weekends.
 

ECDLP #8

- Rebeca is shocked by what Federico has done. His phone starts vibrating with an incoming call from Marcelo. She quickly leaves.
- Marcelo has his secretary try to call Federico’s work but Fede hasn’t shown up to work in days. The landlord of his apartment then calls says he heard a gunshot coming from the apartment.
- Lucia is at her apartment and sees the two wine glasses and bottle. She goes into the bedroom but sees nothing out of the ordinary.
- Nora visits Rodrigo in his office. He tells that what happened between them was a mistake and he won’t lose Lucia. She threatens him that’s it’s not over.
- Nora lies to Alonso saying she had left her phone in Rodrigo’s office the day before and went to pick it up.
- Amador wants to know why Rodrigo and Nora were in his office alone.
- Marcelo enters his apartment to find Federico’s body. He cries over him.
- Amador has figured out what happened between Rodrigo and Nora. Rodrigo says he likes/liked both Lucia and Nora. He doesn’t want to lose Lucia
- Lucia asks Nora if anything happened between her and Rodrigo because they’re both acting strange.
- Rebeca is driving back to Puebla without Magdalena whose calls she ignores. Magdalena guesses Rebeca left without her on purpose but she’ll find another way to get to Puebla
- Lucia and Leti talk about the bachelorette party. She tells Leti that Rodrigo is distant and thinks he doesn’t want to marry her anymore.
- Tere comes into Lucia’s room saying someone brought a letter for her. The letter reads “Your boyfriend is cheating on you with another woman”. Lucia tells Leti the letter is soaked with the scent of perfume.
- Seconds later Lucia receives an anonymous email that reads “did you get my note?”
- Milagros is worried about Federico and just knows something bad has happened.
- The detective tells Marcelo an autopsy will be done and asks him who the gun belonged to.
- Tere tells Lucia the letter was pushed under the door. Nora is listening and wants to know what’s going on. Nora tells Lucia she should confront Rodrigo.
- Marcelo tells Milagros that Federico won’t ever be coming back. Milagros doesn’t believe it. She wants to see Federico. Rafaela takes Milagros to her bedroom.
- Amador instructs Rodrigo to take Lucia a bouquet of flowers and take her to dinner.
- Marcelo blames himself for what happened. Rafaela wonders if the woman Federico was with had something to do with his death and Marcelo says that he plans to find the woman.
- Rebeca arrives home and gives short answers to Lucia’s questions about her wedding dress and where Magdalena is. She quickly jumps in the shower and flashes back to Federico’s suicide.
- Marcelo finds the earring on the floor of his apartment near the bloodstain. Daniela arrives having heard the news.
- Rebeca realizes her earring is missing and begins searching for it. Nora tells her about the anonymous letter Lucia received. Rebeca still thinks the wedding will happen. Surely Rodrigo wouldn’t cheat on Lucia with someone less than Lucia. Nora tries not to be affected by her mom's words.
- Alonso wonders what’s wrong with Rebeca and she says she’s upset about losing an earring he gifted her for their anniversary. She says she couldn’t pick up Magdalena. She doesn’t want him to call a doctor.
- Rodrigo arrives with flowers for Lucia. She shows him the anonymous note. He hopes she doesn’t believe it and has no idea who could’ve sent it. They kiss as Nora watches from a window.
- The detective confirms Federico’s cause of death as suicide. Marcelo receives the items of Federico’s that were found and looks through Federico’s phone to find “Adriana Murillo” in his contacts.
- Marcelo calls the number and Lucia answers. He asks for Adriana and Lucia wants to know who is calling. He hangs up when the detective says Federico’s body has been released to him. Rebeca enters and Lucia asks her why someone was calling her phone asking for Adriana.

Sandy is such a shrew. I wonder if Matt heads for the shower because she makes him feel dirty? He tries really hard to please her, even though she frustrates him.
 

Quererlo Todo Friday April 9, 2021

QT # 65 Part 1/3
The newlyweds are still adjusting to married life. Matt is wondering if Sandy is focusing on his possible Montes heritage out of selfish interest. They argue, then, Matt comforts her, stressing the importance of family.

Eva comes to visit her daughter and see if she’s ok. Sandy complains about her honeymoon, which was both low class and ruined by Val’s presence. On the other hand, she has prospects of being a millionaire. She is still envious of Val. Eva (who must suspect her daughter) asks if she is sure she’s pregnant? Sandy makes her mom leave, throwing pillows for emphasis.

Tito comes in the room, ready to hang out there as he did with Matt. Sandy tells him not to mess with her mother, and cruelly says at least she has a mother. She starts a fight with the little boy, telling him she’s Matt’s wife and this is her room now. The verbal and physical blows are on a childish level, with such loud shouts that Dalia and Matt come to stop the fight.

Matt didn’t think that married life would start this way. He and Sandy snuggle on the bed, seeking a new start. Kissy kissy.

Val has gone to see a conveniently shirtless Leo. She has decided to come back to him, which makes him very happy. He embraces her, kissing her eagerly. She tells him to wait. He says he will, that he will wait as long as it takes. Some lovey dovey kissing.
Val also says she would like to have access to her money. He wonders if there is a problem? She just wants to use some, since she has plans. Leo, looking faintly worried, says he will work on her accounts. He tries to distract her with a warning about Remi, citing negative things about her friend.

 

QT # 65 Part 2/3

Leo also had a visit with his mom, Minnie. She tells Leo about Aaron and the Swiss account money. Leo has enough scruples to tell Minnie it’s not right for her to take that money (or doesn’t want to diminish his share). Now alone, Min sighs that no one understands her.

Dalia has a heart-to-heart talk with Don Patricio’s photo. Her main points are: Is he Matt’s father? And, if he is, who is the mother? The photo doesn’t answer.

Blue spirit Patricio does talk to Leo, however. He thinks Leo has all his defects and none of his virtues. Leo says he will do right and will improve because he loves Valeria. Blue Pat scoffs that Montes men don’t love anyone.

Tirso is shown briefly, skulking in the wild woods at night. He separates from the Ghost (I think) and eventually comes to a rough cabin. He enters and refers to it as “home, sweet home.” Not sure if this is his real former home or just a chance refuge??

Meanwhile, back at the center of political power, Artemio is talking to Luisa. She’s leaving because she’s not important. Art begs her to stay. He is seated on the end of the bed, then rolls onto the floor (hard to know if this is fake or real). We see a medical crew shocking Art and they bring him back to life.


 

QT # 65 Part 3/3

Soon, Eva and Bere are at the hospital, accusing Luisa of causing this latest heart attack. Sandy arrives in a swirl of drama to join the fray. She says if Art dies, Luisa will pay.
All the ladies are gathered in Art’s room with the doctor, still rumbling among themselves. Art says he wants only Luisa to stay and the others to leave. (Which they grudgingly do.) He holds her hand, begging her not to leave him. He didn’t know his love for her was so immense. Luisa tells him he doesn’t love her, he just uses her. He begs her for pardon. He was jealous of Vicente. She agrees she will stay until he is better.

Art summons Basurto to his bedside for instructions. He must move ahead and find the killer of Raul Martinez. Also something about not telling/involving Leo? Missed detail here.

Sabina is holding Angelita and talking about Tito and maybe not playing with him anymore? Tito and Lorenzo are outside playing and decide to go get Angelita. They sneak into the hacienda and invite her to “escape” with them. Corina hears footsteps, but sees nothing when she turns her head. Ghosts, for sure!

Tito and his crew encounter Juanito and a work crew. Missed their convo because my daughter called. Anyone have details on this?

Val and Mag are seated in her room, as Val explains she will give Leo another chance. She wants to stay and help the children. Mag says Val also should learn to love herself.

Esme descends the steps of the empty Cantina. Carlos enters with an armful of red roses. He turns on the radio on the bar and gathers her in his arms for a dance. Esme likes the family and the many orphans in Rosario. She may stay after all.


 

QT # 65

Matt is very strong in his feelings for family and his need to have a family of his own. Although he was deeply loved by Dalia and mentored by Don Patricio, his childhood feelings of emptiness are pushing him toward Sandy and their struggling marriage. Que lastima.

 

QT #65

Gracias, Paloma. Love this: a conveniently shirtless Leo. Victor Gonzales definitely has a great bod.

That hotel could not be low-class by any stretch of the imagination; Sandy called it that because it was not what she wanted. This is very common with narcissists.

I love the discovery the Eva doesn't see her through rose-colored glasses. Also that Matt suspects her of lusting after the Montes fortune. Sandy throwing Eva out after she raised the issue of pregnancy is another piece of evidence. Sandy is too vain to ever want to become pregnant. In fact, the only interaction we've ever seen of her with children is the childish one she just had with Tito. It's hard to believe that she is Berenice's sister.

I think Matt finds interactions with her more tiring than his work.

It's ironic that Matt and Val have a better take on how families work than Sandy, who grew up with both parents. We don't know how long ago Art and Eva split up, but I don't think it was very long ago. In addition to being an intolerable shrew, Sandy is a narcissist, like her father.

Finally, Blue Patricio is not quite telling the truth here. He definitely loved Angelita and intended for her to have the money that Minnie is trying to steal. I finally realized that this is why she didn't tell Leo that she is his daughter: She doesn't want him to control that money which would be his legal right to do unless -- inevitably -- his murders are discovered. Of course, Blue Patricio is actually the voice of his conscience. The question is whether he knows that.


 

"MEPS" Episode 112 (Part XIV)
169.) We pick up from Episode 111's ending (Spoiler Alert: the recap from Thursday's episode was from Episode 111).

The face-to-face insults between Franco vs Psycho Barbara continue.

170.) In the meantime at the Elizalde Mansion, more nagging from Mooching Damian & Creepy Vlad inside Redhead's room.

171.) Of course the topic between the brothers: Priscila & Vlad's creepy obsession with her & the baby she's carrying.

172.) Of course we go back to the insult fest between Franco & Psycho Barbara.

173.) While Franco is calm while holding the wheel inside his vehicle, he listens to the insults & threats launched at him by Psycho Barbara.

174.) Music getting more dangerous during this sequence.

175.) Mooching Damian & Redhead: Fast Forward.

176.) Santiago runs into Daddy Elizalde at the Elizalde Mansion while Redhead walks down the stairs.

177.) Over in the outskirts of Mexico City, more of Franco vs Psycho Barbara.

178.) Cell phone of Psycho Barbara rings, it's Dr. Obregon on tge other end. Jacinto with his trusty bag of ropes & hachet-sword hiding behind the rocks while Dr. Obregon is watching with his telescope for the briefcase of $$$$$ to arrive.

179.) Casa Santorro: Steve, Jr., speaking with his father & telling him to tell Mommy Norton he said hello, he loves her & misses her. Nagging Gardenia listens to the conversation.

180.) More whining & crying from Gullible Aurora at the conevant.

181.) While Jackass #2 Camilo is making out with Natasha over at the club, we see Venus/Lovely & Martina at the condominium crib discussing the situation between the Jackass (Jackass #2 Camilo) & the Gringo (Steve, Jr.,)

Back at the ourskirts of Mexico City, Franco angrily drives all over the place with Psycho Barbara in the passenger seat. Later on: she takes the briefcase to an undisclosed location, so we see Dr. Obregon take the briefcase & he turns around to see Jacinto, who ties him up.

How could Rebecca just stand there without at least yelling at Federico not to do that? She is among the most sick and evil of all female villains. She deserves all the anxiety she's getting from this. Using her dead sister's name to defile her after death is sick, sick, sick.

I wonder whether Rod and Nora changed the sheets after their desecration of the marriage bed. He is so dense he doesn't understand the magnitude of his "mistake" in boinking Nora.

Nora is definitely her mother's daughter. In fact, she's worse. She is really getting her jollies out of the anonymous note and the fallout that will result. The red dress and matching lipstick brands her a Scarlet Woman.

Finally, does anyone else think that this series could have worked in 1950s clothes and shot in black and white as a noir? I think the actresses we've seen so far would all look smashing in those vintage clothes.

I definitely could see it as a noir. Hmm...

Federico’s suicide definitely set the tone for the rest of the story. Rebeca’s life won’t be the same from here on out.

They did strip off the plastic. Having sex on that would be less than pleasant.

Rebecca's life is a hell of her own making. I have difficulty picturing her childhood and parents. I don't remember if we ever found out when or how the parents died.

Yeah I don’t remember either. That would’ve been interesting to know. I think Rebeca (younger version, obviously) did try to claim she considered Alonso like a father figure so no would suspect she had a crush on him.
 

Entre el Amor Y el Odio #6

- Octavio says he’s not going to make a lady out of a s-l-u-t like Ana. Ana slaps him.
- Octavio tells Josefa he will marry Frida ASAP
- Magdalena tells Jose Alfredo that she can’t imagine her life without Rodolfo. Rodolfo tells Gabriel that nobody should marry without love.
- The lawyer reads the rest of Fernando’s will to Octavio and Josefa. The rest indicates that if Octavio refuses to marry Ana then Ana will be Fernando’s sole beneficiary. And if Ana is the one who refuses then Octavio will inherit everything. If they marry and divorce later, the one who seeks the divorce will get nothing.
- Josefa tells Octavio that she has no qualms about Ana potentially inheriting everything from Fernando.
- Rebeca confesses to the priest that she loves Rodolfo.
- Rodolfo tells Marcial that he’s dying. He is afraid to tell his family. Marcial promises to look after them.
- After Rodolfo leaves Marcial says to himself that soon Magdalena will be his.
- Marcial fires Ana from the factory.
- Moises tells Josefa he knows why Fernando made those conditions in his will.
- Octavio tells Frida that he won’t fight for the inheritance. He doesn’t want to marry Ana and lose Frida. Frida encourages him to marry Ana.
- Ana doesn’t think she can fulfill Fernando’s last wishes.
- Marcial is shocked and angry when he learns of the terms of Fernando’s will.
- Octavio tells Ana she will be Fernando’s sole heir. Ana says she’d rather be poor.
- Magdalena tells Rebeca that Rodolfo is dying. Rebeca promises Magdalena she will support her through everything.
- Ana asks Jose Alfredo if he still loves her and wants to marry her. He says yes so she proposes they marry that same night.
- Ana tells Jose Alfredo about the terms of Fernando’s will.
- Octavio is confused that maybe Ana isn’t as ambitious as he thought. Frida thinks Ana is just testing Octavio.
- Josefa finds a letter that Fernando left her. It reads that with the terms of his will, he is protecting Octavio from Frida.
- Marcial tells Rodolfo and Magdalena that Fernando left him nothing in his will.
- Josefa tells Ana she shouldn’t break the promise she made to Fernando. Ana says Octavio loves Frida and thinks she (A) is a nobody.
- Ana visits Fernando’s tomb
- Josefa tells Octavio that Ana plans to marry Jose Alfredo. By her doing so that proves Ana isn’t who Octavio thinks she is.
- Josefa begins experiencing chest pains.
- Jose Alfredo asks Ana what she really wants to do.
- Cayetana is reading tarot cards to Frida says Octavio will marry another
- Octavio feels guilty about Josefa’s condition. She promises him that she will be fine. Ana visits Josefa and says she has decided to fulfill Fernando’s wishes and will marry Octavio.
 

Entre el Amor y el Odio #7

- Having overheard Ana say she will marry him, Octavio asks to speak to her privately. Josefa asks Ana to return afterwards.
- Magdalena tells Marcial that Fernando only loved Ana like a daughter - not romantically. Gabriel is brought home in bad shape
- Ana tells Octavio that marrying him is a sacrifice. Octavio thinks Ana never planned to renounce the inheritance. Octavio says now HE will refuse the inheritance and won’t marry her because they hate each other.
- Rodolfo talks to Gabriel alone. Gabriel asks him for forgiveness.
- Octavio asks Ana if she is happy about her triumph. He says he only kissed her before to prove that she’s easy.
- Ana says to herself that she loves Octavio.
- Octavio tells Marcial that he’s not marrying Ana and letting her keep the inheritance. Marcial tells Frida she will convince Octavio not to give up the inheritance.
- Josefa can’t believe Octavio gave up the inheritance. Josefa doesn’t think Frida will accept Octavio now.
- Frida tells Octavio that if he renounces the inheritance she won’t marry him either.
- Rodolfo tells Jose Alfredo and Gabriel that he’s terminally ill.
- Frida tells Octavio that his marriage to Ana would only be on paper. He could make Ana’s life a living hell then she would divorce him and he would keep the inheritance.
- Octavio tells Ana that he changed his mind and they will marry.
- The doctor says Rodolfo’s condition is grave and he may only have days or weeks to live.
- Octavio tells Ana that she will regret her ambition and that she will shed tears of blood for forcing him to marry her. Ana is sure Frida made Octavio change his mind.
- Ana tells Manuel her plans to marry Octavio. She goes to confession with the priest.
- Jose Alfredo tells Ana about his dad while Magdalena tells Octavio.
- Octavio offers to write Magdalena a check but she prefers to sell him her jewelry.
- Octavio asks the doctor about Rodolfo’s condition and says there’s an experimental treatment that he would pay for for Rodolfo but on the condition that no one would know who paid for it. He gets in contact with the doctor who has the treatment.
- Gabriel asks to be scheduled for another fight and to be paid in advance. Jose Alfredo attempts to take a mortgage out on their shoe business. Instead Marcial gives him a loan from the company.
- Magdalena thanks Rosalia for making sure got home safely from the bar/club. She asks if Rosalia has children and Rosalia sadly says no
- Ana expresses her anguish to Josefa about having to be married to Octavio. Octavio comes and asks to speak with Ana.
- Octavio tells Ana their marriage will only be on paper and there will be no intimacy between them and they will only have a civil ceremony which will be held the next day
- Marcial discusses his plans with Tobias concerning Rodolfo’s impending death.
- Octavio arrives for the wedding initially with Frida on his arm. Octavio realizes Ana invited guests to the wedding when he told her there would be none.
