Truth is like the sun, you can shut it out for a time, but it ain’t going away. –Elvis Presley
Once again, we get to see Ivana storm into Vera’s house looking for Pedro. When she asks Nico where Pedro is, he remains quiet; so she yells at him. Vera defends Nico and while she tells Ivana that she will not allow her to desecrate her mother’s house, Pedro sneaks out.
Marina calls Andres and wants to talk.
Edson apologizes to Vera…he could not detain Ivana. Vera asks him not to worry and then asks him to stay with Nico. Vera calls Pedro and tells him that they need to stop seeing each other. Pedro wants to meet her at their apartment, but Vera thinks it is a bad idea since Ivana is determined to prove to Olmo that they are together.
Ivana tells Olmo that Vera was alone with Nico. Olmo thinks that maybe Vera is not lying to him. When Ivana tries to convince him otherwise, Olmo tells her to stop! Vera is suffering and he needs to make up for it…by getting her a gift.
Eddy is packing his backpack. When Fabi asks why, he explains that his mother wants them to return to their hometown, but he won’t leave now that Faby is with him…he is planning to run away with her.
Olmo gets a necklace that he gave to Alma…as he apologizes to Alma, but he needs it..
Alberto and Fausto confab. Alberto relates that he was very convincing when he talked to Olmo. Fausto assures him that the benefits will be well worth it when they destroy Olmo. When Jacinto approaches and asks if Fausto needs anything, Fausto tells him that he wants to be alone with Alberto who is working hard at taking Tadeo’s place (hmmm…does he want to take Tadeo’s place in the morgue too?). Before leaving, Jacinto refers to Fausto a “papa” so Alberto deduces that Fausto is also Vera’s father. Uh-oh!
Ivana searches through Fabi’s things and finds a clue to where she may be.
Alberto thinks that it was such a coincidence that Jacinto was a gardener. When he wonders if Fausto had Vera marry Olmo. Fausto admits that Vera hd to make a small sacrifice for the cause…she is his Trojan horse.
Julio and Octavio discuss Tomas and Olmo. Octavio thinks that Tomas may not have known what Olmo was up to. It is odd that if Olmo was actually “clean”, Fausto would have to pretend that he was dead…and Olmo stayed with everything. They know that Olmo still launders money…and he is just as dirty as Fausto. Julio remarks that Fausto has no scruples…he made Vera marry Olmo!
Fausto explains that with Vera’s help he will have the majority of the shares for the company. And with Alberto’s help, he will get the business with El Chamaco. Once he takes everything from Olmo, Alberto can have all the money…Fausto doesn’t care about the money, all he wants is Olmo’s head.
Marina and Andres meet. Andres reproaches her for kissing Pedro in front of him. Marina assures him that she wants to put Pedro in the past and wants a chance with him.
Gas is about to take a drink when Melida walks in and reminds him that they had an agreement…and she is only trying to help him. When he tells her that she is just in it for the money, she assures him that she cares about him. She reminds him that his family did not go see him as often as she did.
Andres points out to Marina that she can’t stop thinking about Pedro…when she can stop thinking about Pedro, then they can see each other.
Octavio and Julio are still brainstorming. Octavio insists that the guilty person in all of this is Olmo. Julio argues that he doesn’t trust Fausto either. ..both Fausto and Olmo could be suspects in Antonia’s murder since both of them benefitted from her death. When Octavio reminds him that the case is closed and that all the evidence is probably contaminated, Julio suggests that the route they should take is to prove that Olmo is laundering money.
Olmo leads Vera and Nico to the stables…with their eyes closed. When they open their eyes, they see the surprise…a pony!. After Vera reminds Nico to say thank you, Olmo gives Vera her gift…Alma’s necklace. Neither Vera or Nico are very impressed.
Ivana didn’t have enough with barging into Vera’s house. Now she barges into Emilia’s house looking for Fabi. As she goes from room to room, Emilia follows. They find that Eddy’s door is locked; so Ivana bangs on the door and demands that he open it. (Evilana bombs again!)
Lola tries to convince Laiza to tell her mother about her possible illness, As Laiza tells her that she doesn’t want to worry her mother because it is only a referral to the oncologist, Gabe walks in and overhears, so Laiza tells him that she may have cancer,
Ivana returns home and tells Alberto and Olmo that she can’t find Fabi. Alberto blames Ivana because she has made Fabi hate her! (easily done!)
Laiza is trying to find relief from her headache when Marina calls looking for a shoulder to cry on. When Laiza asks Marina if they can talk later, Marina insists on talking because she is alone once again! Laiza loses it and tells Marina to stop complaining and to grow up! Laiza is fed up because Marina has two men that love her, she is a millionaire and she has her health! Marina is shocked that Liaza is talking to her in such a way. When she adds that friends don’t talk to each other like that , Laiza remarks that is why she is saying those things, because there are people in the world that have real problems.
Marina looks at Pedro’s picture as she reproaches him for all he has done and his relationship with Vera. If she can’t be with him, then she shouldn’t have to protect him anymore….her father will find out everything today!
Jazz tells Fausto that Eddy ran away with Fabi…Olmo’s niece. Meanwhile, Eddy is trying to buy tickets when Alberto approaches,. He tries to take Fabi, but she yells that he has no right…he is not her father; and he is just as much a liar as her mother!
Olmo and Ivana have a drink and discuss Fabi. Ivana thinks Alberto is right…Fabi hates her. And she really doesn’t blame Fabi since she has been so busy with the business. As they talk, Marina arrives and starts yelling out for her daddy. In the study, Olmo tells Ivana that she is strong…and stubborn...just like he likes his women. They kiss!! And Marina watches from the doo! Marina turns and walks away like a zombie. Inside the study, Olmo tells Ivana that the kiss shouldn’t have happened. He makes it clear that he loves Vera and his life belongs to her. Ivana asks that he not destroy the moment. They can pretend that it didn’t happen but he will remember it …and how much he enjoyed kissing her.
Delia finds Marina and asks if she is okay, Marina wonders if she has ever been fine…she is the crazy one of the family. When Delia tells her that if she wants to see her father who is with Ivana in his study, Marina tells her that she knows…she just saw them kissing! WAAJJJJ Once calm, Marina tells Delia that she had only wanted to tell her father something. Delia admits that her view of Olmo is also starting to falter.
Fabi goes to see Octavio and demands answers! He tells her that this is her house
Marina asks Delia how she is...how is Laiza. Delia confides that they thought Laiza was pregnant, but it was just a false alarm. Marina wishes she could have been there for Laiza and leaves.
Octavio offers Fabi some of his “plain” food. They laugh since he is mocking her “need” for fine foods.
Vera sneaks away as Olmo is fast asleep.
Eddy returns home. When Emilia asks where he was and where Fabi is, Eddy tells her that Fabi is fine…and their plans fell apart.
Vera goes to see Pedro who wonders why she is crying. Vera is tired of lying…the reason she is with Olmo...is because Olmo killed her mother and she is seeking justice!
Emilia thinks that Eddy tried to leave only because she told him they were returning to their hometown. Eddy explains that Fabi is also going through a hard time because of her parents. He needs Fabi and Fabi needs him….without Fabi he is nothing.
Vera recounts how things happened since they saw each other in Huatulco. Pedro wonders why his father would do something like that; so Vera explains that Olmo wanted to keep her there. When Pedro questions why she had accused Granados, Vera replies that she only told him that Granados was her mother’s murderer because she wasn’t sure she could trust him. Pedro thinks this is too much! He knows his father can be cruel and even corrupt, but he doesn’t think Olmo is capable of murder! When he asks how Vera can be so sure, Vera tells him that there is a video showing Olmo going into the hotel a few minutes before her mother was killed.
Marina goes to visit Laiza and brings flowers, Laiza tells her that she was never pregnant, When (cold and insensitive…what a change) Gabe tells Laiza that either she tells Marina or he will, Laiza tells Marina that she may have cancer…but she doesn’t want her mother to know until it is confirmed.
Pedro insists that Vera show him the video…he will not believe her until he sees it (maybe Pedro should have been named after his father “Tomas” with “doubting" added to it.). Vera tries to tell Pedro that Olmo is not the man the world believes he is…Olmo is capable of killing a woman just to get a wife.
Laiza assures Marina that once she confirms the diagnosis, she will call her. She then reminds Marina that Marina is healthy and is free…she needs to be happy.
Pedro reproaches Vera for marrying Olmo so she explains why she did it…to protect Pedro, Pedro can’t believe she would go so far as to marry someone whom she considers to be a murdered…and moreover, she dragged their son into a dangerous situation! (good point, Pedro!)
Alberto admits to Ivana that he found Fabi but she ran away… and she yelled at him that he is not her father…Alberto wishes that the cop had never appeared.
Vera is disappointed that Pedro doesn’t believe her and leaves.
Marina is on an overpass as her conversations with Pedro, Andres, Laiza echo in her head. After she “hears” Laiza tell her to be happy, she looks down at the traffic-laden highway and cries, “That’s what I will do!”. (Jump!!)
FIN!
What a wonderful recap sandwiched between a great Elvis quote/ a DOUBTING PEDRO and a collective wish: JUMP! Who could ask for anything more? Thanks, RgvChick.
At the rate Pedro thinks, he will never believe Vera in their lifetimes.
Wow! What a day! Mariana got two earfuls from Laiza, an eyeful from papi and Vera and a resolute Andrés who refused to be snookered in by her “charms.” It is close enough to the end for her to do the big “ally oop” on the highway.
Alberto finding out that Vera is now Fausto’s “Trojan horse” sure puts him in a power position.
Guess Olmo thinks everything can be solved by a (hand me down) diamond necklace, a pony and comparing Ivana to a white acacia.
Whoopsie! Mélida finds out that Gastón loves the bottle more than his gratitude to her or anything.
Pedro’s low blow: blaming Vera for putting their son in danger.
Couldn’t believe Ivana was allowed to invade yet another house in this episode.
Why do I love your recaps RgvChick? “Pedro insists that Vera show him the video…he will not believe her until he sees it (maybe Pedro should have been named after his father “Tomas” with “doubting" added to it” says everything. Superb.
“(cold and insensitive…what a change) Gabe” was disappointing. I can only think he is stiffening his spine in preparation for Laiza’s seemingly inevitable fate.
So who was “schooled” more? Marina or Alberto? Marina’s world crashed down around her and Alberto’s world got wiser. He sopped up the sordid truths like a sponge.
Smart Faby goes to her father. But who does Eddy have – sweet Emilia??
Only Ivana would turn her daughter’s heartache to her own advantage by coming on to Olmo. And he is of course using Ivana just as much.
Vera finally tells Pedro and he doesn’t believe her. At this point, do we care?
“(hand me down) diamond necklace” was right Jarifa. I had to chuckle at that. I have to say the pony stole my heart a bit. "Pedro’s low blow: blaming Vera for putting their son in danger" hit that sad nail on the head as well.
“Alberto blames Ivana because she has made Fabi hate her! (easily done!)”. Years ago, there was a column entitled “Can this marriage be saved”. My vote here is no.
I have a feeling Marina is now at rock bottom. I think she will choose to crawl back up.
I am really enjoying this - thank you RgvChick, thank you!
Diana
Diana,
“He sopped up the sordid truths like a sponge.” Love it!
Good one about “doubting Thomas”, too.
I have to say that the last couple of episodes have been quite entertaining.
Jarifa, I wish I were more interested in Vera and Pedro, but in keeping with the recent trend, the secondary characters have so much more compelling storylines!
I could watch an entire night of Eddy and Faby and/or Teo and Gonzo. And others.
Laiza's story is so closely interwoven with others. Her illness will have a terrible, domino effect. I worry about Delia especially as she will have no one, her feelings for Olmo irrevocably changed.
I also meant to comment that Fausto is so dismissive of Jacinto. Here Jacinto thinks he will fall into Tadeo's place and Fausto has already considered that filled by Alberto. The difference is that Alberto's allegiance is questionable. Tadeo's never waivered.
Diana
Diana,
You are so right about the secondary story lines and characters being so much more interesting. I need to remember that this was based on a Turkish novela so what I am seeing is a very traditional novela Turkish style. I have avoided the Turkish novelas based on not liking to watch anything that is dubbed, but I also might be avoiding Turkish remakes if they are prone to this ponderous style of storytelling that makes them way too laborious for me to watch. Clearly a case of different stokes for different folks.
Yes, that was a big surprise for Tadeo. Alberto clearly is the wild card at this point with so much power and all the spoils to boot.
Thank you, Jarifa and Diana! I have to agree that the last couple of episodes are so much better...things are finally moving along. And I am in total agreement with your comments about each of the scenes.
I really thought Olmo was pretending to be asleep when Vera sneaked out; and I expected him to follow her. Does he really sleep that soundly? Did she slip some more sleep potion in his drink?
Yes, that was a low blow Pedro gave Vea, but he made a good point. Vera knew she was going into a snake pit and she took Nico with her and left him with practically strangers when she would go work at the office.
I don't blame Laiza a bit for going off on Marina who is used to getting all the attention and whatever she wants. And Yay! fo rAndres who isn't falling for her whiny "pity me" act.
Jarifa, "Couldn’t believe Ivana was allowed to invade yet another house in this episode." That was insane! I couldn't believe it either...she was even wearing the same dress! LOL
Jarifa, " I also might be avoiding Turkish remakes if they are prone to this ponderous style of storytelling that makes them way too laborious for me to watch." I am getting hooked on dubbed Turkish novelas, but I'm with you on avoiding Turkish remakes...very disappointing!
Chickie, i enjoyed the recap including the Elvis quote....so ..thank you ...thank you very much !
The scheming and deceit ramos up as we move toward tbe finale.
Diana, i remember the " Can This Marriage Be Saved ? " feature in a popukat magazine , but i dont recall which one.
I am ready for the anvils to fall, and I want a big one for Ivana who has become more and more arrogant and agressive. Ugh
SpanProf, I watched the first episode and that was it for me. At least the most unpleasant characters were done away with quickly. You were correct about that 19th C vibe. It seems any novela that I have seen that involves living on a ranch or out in the country harkens back to those social conventions and even legalities of the past. They have a very feudal feel about them. How can that be in the 21st century? I never get it. Even in DESAMOR, out in the countryside we had a girl Gemma being given away to a man Cuau like an arranged marriage a couple of centuries ago. It truly makes my beanie spin out of control.
Sancar enters the bedroom and confronts Menekse. Who are you talking to? What did your brother plan? Uh….I was talking to my mother, Menekse replies, she’s sad because I haven’t visited. She is thinking of visiting here. I also said if anyone asks about Nare, say my brother planned to have her beaten. Sancar grabs the phone and calls the last number.
Necdet is struggling with Loki to keep from being stabbed. Loki yells, Menekse wanted it? It was Menekse’s decision? I’ll slit your throat! Atike is struggling with Loki, too, stop, let go of my son!
The phone rings: “Menekse calling”. Can we say Necdet is saved by the bell? Loki opens the call. Sancar speaks, Mrs. Atike? Loki gives the phone to Atike. Sancar tells her nobody will come to the house, we don’t want guests and he quickly hangs up. Sancar questions why Menekse hasn’t saved the number. They changed the number recently, Menekse answers, I’m going to save it. He’s still suspicious but he gives the phone back.
Sancar takes clothes and a towel to shower. Menekse says he was gone for a long time. Are you going to shower, she asks? I’ll help prepare. Sancar says it’s not necessary.
She calls to Sancar and goes over to him. She looks at the red handprint on his shirt and asks about it. I was painting with Melek, he tells her. Menekse’s not that stupid. She says it’s not a kid’s print. It’s Nare’s? She touches it and he steps back. Menekse is upset. You dare to enter my room with the mark of another woman on your chest? …My room which you never enter. Why didn’t you take a shower elsewhere?
Sancar tells her she has nothing to worry about. Menekse thinks otherwise, any woman would suspect her husband is cheating. I understand your anger, says Sancar, we’ll resolve it soon. What does that mean, she asks? Whatever way, Sancar answers. Menekse senses her days in the mansion are numbered.
Gediz is at the marina out on the balcony drinking coffee and sees Nare arrive in a taxi. He goes back inside and orders a coffee for her. Nare enters. Gediz tells her he will get her a car. Nare says she hasn’t had time to get one but will go today. Gediz says she can have a company car.
Nare says, you have a huge amount of money ready to give my father and now you also want to give me a car? No thank you. Gediz jokes, I’d prefer to add that expense than to deal with blackmail and ransom money. Nare apologizes for getting him involved in this. Bad enough you had to deal with my father, now you have to deal with his driver.
Gediz jokes again, let me know if you have gardeners, cooks, or a guard. I can’t deal with more than three people. Nare laughs. Gediz says they have done the impossible to prevent Sancar from killing Akin but if he finds out what we have done, he will kill us both. Akin will be the only survivor. Nare notices when Gediz gets worried, he starts making jokes. Do you feel this way because you lied to Sancar, she asks? He takes a breath, I’m more concerned that Sancar will kill Akin.
Zehra meets Akin for breakfast. He pulls the chair out for her. What a gentleman Zehra comments. I hope you say that when you meet my mother, he tells her, she will be proud know she raised a gentleman. Zehra is surprised, did you say meet your mother? Ah how stupid, Akin says, I spoke about meeting my mother on our first date. He pretends to be embarrassed. I’m not a momma’s boy.
Akin calls the waiter to order and Zehra laughs. What is so funny, he asks? I would be offended if it weren’t for that beautiful smile, he tells her. [What a POS he is and she’s falling for it.]
dondi356
The breakfast is interrupted by a call from Sancar. She has to answer, it’s her brother and he has eyes all over the place. Sancar needs to talk business. I want to acquire a bankrupt company, he says, can you check on what I sent you? A viability report. Sancar wants to know how much money they should pay, how much money should they offer. He trusts Zehra with the numbers. Zehra laughs and thanks her brother for taking her job seriously. She will send the report later. Akin says, a viability report? Are you an economist? Zehra is modest. Something like that she says. [This is terrible, Zehra is smitten with this psycho]
Sancar bangs on Guven’s door. Guven opens and Sancar grabs him and pushes him back against a wall. Sancar screams in Guven’s face, are you mocking me? Do you want me to kill you? Sancar lets him go but continues yelling, what kind of man are you? Can’t you keep a promise for once?
Guven blames it on Kerem. Since he found Akin, he wants more money. Sancar remembers the driver from Montenegro. Yes, that’s him, Guven says, he has demanded more money. He won’t even tell me where Akin is. Guven asks Sancar to believe him, he’s tried to convince Kerem but… Sancar says apparently, he is very loyal. Guven says Kerem is also greedy. [yes, pot, kettle, black] Poor you, Sancar says sarcastically.
So what’s the price now? Guven holds up two fingers. Two million euros? Sancar wants assurance that he will hand Akin over. Guven shows him a pic on his phone. It’s Akin sleeping, a newspaper with a date is in the background. Sancar takes a close look at the pic. He asks Guven, when will you hand him over? Today, Guven answers, I’ll be in touch and make sure you bring the cash. Sancar warns Guven, if you try to trick me, I will have to hurt my daughter’s grandfather. [yeah, Guven, you should worry.]
Kerem is outside of Sadiclar he gets a text from Guven: Sancar offered 2 million. See if they will give 3.
Gediz and Nare are working in his office when Kerem shows up to talk. Gediz is ticked, don’t you have a brain? Why are you here? I told you I would call. What if Sancar finds out? Kerem says not to worry, Sancar is busy. Kerem greets Nare. Nare asks why Kerem is doing this. He has known her for years, why is he doing this to her? He no longer works for her father. It’s exactly for that reason he tells her. It’s part of his separation. Your father lost his money gambling and had no way to pay me, Kerem says.
Nare asks how much Sancar offered. Two million. Gediz calls Kerem shameless. Gediz offers 2.5. Kerem tries to negotiate. He’s more afraid of Sancar than he is of them. Gediz sticks firm at 2.5 . Kerem will have to discuss it with Guven. When will you give us the money? Nare says, when you deliver Akin. Kerem says, but…. Gediz doesn’t want to listen. We can’t trust you, he tells Kerem. Make your decision.
Kerem asks, what are you going to do with Akin if we turn him over to you? Nare says, don’t worry, we are going to turn him into the police. He can’t hurt you from behind bars. Kerem leaves. Nare says now they will have to wait to see who gets that bastard Akin. She worries, what if they give him to Sancar?
Zehra tries to guess about “Mert”. Let’s see, you are from Istanbul, you’re a pharmacist, with a crisis at 35. Akin says she is right about the age but, a crisis? Zehra laughs. She says most of the people who come from Istanbul to the Aegean coast do it because they are tired of the chaos in the big city. Those people are usually around your age.
dondi356
Akin says, you think you know me but you’re wrong. [she's so wrong!] My mother is very sick, he says, we moved because the fresh air is good for her. Zehra says she’s sorry and hopes his mom recovers soon. Akin continues to shovel the BS sob story, I’ve tried to prolong her life. She is all I have, and I wanted her to live happily for the rest of her days. So if she dies, you are alone, Zehra asks?
Akin has another BS sob story, a drunk driver on a rainy day. A child and his mother survived, but five little ones died. That’s the story of my leg, he says, it was a huge tragedy. Zehra is affected. Was it a traffic accident? I’m very sorry, she says. He tells her he was around 15. It happened a long time ago.
Zehra thanks him for breakfast but she has to go to work. She has that report to do. Akin asks her to wait another minute. I told you about me, but I don’t know anything about you, he says. It’s a bit unfair that you didn’t share your story. Are you trying to get another date with me, Zehra asks?
Actually…. I’d like… to invite you to have dinner with me and my mother. He’s not a momma’s boy [I’m thinking Norman Bates] but if I could bring the perfect woman home, I think that would make her very happy. She would think I’m in good hands. Then you can leave.
Zehra is rightfully hesitant. You’re nice, she says, but we hardly know each other. And I don’t want to disturb your sick mother. This is moving forward very fast for her. [trust your instincts, Zehra] Akin tries again. I will make dinner. My mother doesn’t know anyone here. It would be nice for her to have a visitor. While my two ladies have dinner, I will watch. Zehra looks like she still has reservations, but she accepts. They shake hands. See you later. [Wash that slime off quickly, Zehra.]
Sancar pulls up to Sadiclar and sees Yahya and Dudu flirting out front. His pissed. He signals for Dudu to leave. What are you doing here, Sancar asks? Yahya says he needs to work and he didn’t think Sancar would have the guts to come back. Whoa. Sancar grabs Yahya by the collar. What is this about? Yahya says, she spoke to me. Should I ignore her? Yes, Sancar says, do you think you are single? You throw your wife out of your house and flirt with another woman?
Yahya breaks free, who the hell do you think you are? I am not the person who is between the love of his life and his wife. Sancar grabs Yahya again. This isn’t a competition. Do you hear me? Don’t compare yourself to me, Sancar says, I’ve made thousands of mistakes, why would you imitate me? Sancar gives good advice—apologize to your wife.
Yahya tells Sancar to take care of his own affairs. Sancar counters, if I threw myself into the sea, you would follow me. But we are not the same. The sea is dangerous, and you could drown. Sancar leaves a very resentful Yahya.
Nare calls her dad, who is really living it up on Sancar’s dime. She’s ticked he hasn’t returned any of her calls. He was in the sauna. She’s going crazy and he’s in the sauna. Meanwhile, Sancar enters the office and sees Nare out on the balcony and listens. Guven gets to the point and tells her he still hasn’t decided on what to do. She tells her father not to make a decision before speaking to her again. Nare sees Sancar and hangs up.
Who were you talking to, he asks? She thinks fast and says, Muge. She hasn’t left her home lately. That’s what Gediz said. Sancar thinks that’s for the best. Where is Gediz he asks? By the yachts, talking to Stelio.
Sancar wonders why she’s always in Gediz’ office. Don’t you like yours? She likes her office, but she decided to stay here for a while. Sancar says, mayber her office is too small for her? Nare tells him to stop. She’s going to work at the marina--that’s that. He tries to talk her into working at the hotel. No, she likes working by the seaside and here she will stay.
dondi356
Why are you here, she asks Sancar? He wants to talk about schools for Melek. He’s got a bunch of materials. Nare is pleasantly surprised. Sancar reminds her she said they have to give Melek a normal life. And here it is. They have a very pleasant discussion while looking over the information. They smile at each other and they almost seem like normal parents. I wish we had more scenes like these.
Gediz comes back to the office and watches as they talk, laugh and smile. Pobre de Gediz. Sancar tells Nare, let’s go tomorrow. We will take Melek. The three of us, Nare asks? Sancar nods and smiles, yes, together.
Gediz makes his entrance and Sancar quickly drags him away. Ha, ha, Sancar brings Gediz to Nare’s “small office” and complains about it. Gediz gets Sancar’s real point. Then they go out to the dock and talk on the company boat. Gediz thinks they will continue to argue about Nare working at the marina. Sancar surprises Gediz by telling him he will respect Nare’s wishes. Gediz laughs and asks, what are you up to?
Are you saying you don’t trust me, Sancar asks, you think I’m up to something? Gediz knows his friend well. Nare and I will work together every day, he questions, and you will feel calm? That gets to Sancar. Enough, he tells Gediz, listen to what I say. Don’t ever say “Nare and I together”. Be careful. I warn you. Be grateful you are still alive. So why didn’t you kill me, Gediz asks? Sancar says it’s because he was honest, he confessed it.
Gediz thinks back to Nare telling him when he worries, he starts to joke. Gediz admits he can be a bit naïve. Sancar says, he understands that, but he warns his friend not to play around with him. Are you up to something, Sancar asks? No, never, Gediz replies.
Sancar says he’s not going to kill Gediz, but he always wants the truth. You said you wouldn’t touch her, right? Yes, that’s right, Gediz replies. Sancar will accept that. Besides, Sancar needs Gediz alive. There is a business opportunity, a bankrupt company. Gediz says he’s in. Zehra is developing a report and Sancar will send it to Gediz when it’s ready.
Akin texts Zehra while she’s working on the report. They text back and forth. Zehra mentions her brothers and “Mert” mentions his mother. Zehra agrees to meet at his house at 8pm.
Kerem tells Guven that Akin will attend a dinner tonight and will be busy. Guven says they will sell Akin to Nare and Gediz. Kerem tells Guven they intend to hand Akin over to the police.
Zehra speaks with Sancar. She sent him the report. She asks if he’s sure he wants to acquire the company. Sancar asks if he was wrong. No, it’s not that, Zehra says, this could be profitable. It’s that one of the partners is Kahraman. Sancar looks concerned and asks if that is a problem for her. No, it’s not a problem, don’t change your mind for me, she says. I’m only telling you so you don’t have trouble with Kahraman. Sancar says if it’s not a problem for her, it’s not one for him.
Zehra tells Sancar she has plans for tonight. She’s going to have dinner with college friends from Istanbul. He wants to know where she’s going. It’s at a friend’s house and the mother will be there. It’s all good. Okay, Sancar says, don’t come home late.
dondi356
Sancar looks over the report. He enters Kahraman’s office. Kahraman does not look happy to see Sancar. He says, I am surprised by your visit, Mr. Sancar enlightens me with his presence. How are you Mr. Kahraman, Sancar asks. Kahraman won’t waste his time on welcomes. Why did you come, he asks?
Sancar says he was invited. Invited? I warned you, Sancar says, if you made a mistake, I would come to take care of it. Okay, says Kahraman, what was the mistake? You threatened Stelio. He was about to cancel the Greek tour. Kahraman says they postponed that. It was bad luck, he tells Sancar, how were we supposed to know you would get out of jail in days. Kahraman asks how he managed that. Oh, you hurt me Kahraman, Sancar says, you’re shameless.
Kahraman asks, how are we going to have income? He mentions something about what Sancar and his best friend did to him. Sancar laughs. He tells Kahraman, yes, we acquired a company that you bankrupted. Right, says Kahraman, are you sure you want to talk about it? Why it went bankrupt? The accident? Who’s fault was it? Your sister, your stupid sister caused this. Sancar tells Kahraman to watch his words. Have I called your wife stupid, he asks?
Kahraman slams his hand on the desk and blows up—don’t you dare talk about my deceased wife! Sancar snaps back, but It’s ok to insult my sister? Kahraman is enraged, you don’t understand! That accident ruined our lives! I’ve suffered for over 20 years! Sancar tells him he knows it hurt to run out of money. You could have gone on, instead you wanted to hurt us.
Kahraman has heard enough, he won’t listen to any more. I’m not interested in your words, he tells Sancar, so shut up. If you don’t like it, do something about it. A man solves his problems by hitting, not speaking. Sancar quickly rises from his seat and gets in Kahraman’s face. The gun is loaded, he warns, ready for war.
Sancar hands Kahraman a paper. Give this to your partners in Istanbul. Sorry, didn’t quite understand but Sancar say something about acquiring a hotel. Sancar leaves an incensed Kahraman, who calls Sancar an idiot. He picks up his string of prayer beads and breaks them apart.
And we are out.
dondi356
Jarifa and SpanProf, I can't say I watched every scene in "Amor" but I did have it on.
It was nice to see the usually insidious Adalberto Parra and Marco Muñóz. I wasn't familiar with either actress playing the sisters but it was good to also see dreamy Osvaldo de Leon and perennial bad girl Martha Julia.
The storyline didn't draw me in so guess I will pass..
Diana
Dondi, tbank you for that great recap .
Is Sancar getting ready to divorce Meneske ? He turned you down cold for shower assistance , so ...hello. Not a Good sign for you, Meanie.
I was very confused about that last scene between San and Kahraman . Who is that guy ? He seems as hottempered as San. Yikes
I hope that Akin is not going to hold Zehra captive .
The most hopeful scene was San and Nare looking at the school brochures. He is smitten with Melek. Now if he could just get some anger management help for dealing with everyone else.
RgvChick very lively recap. And some truths are coming out Finally.
Fausto is a piece of work."Vera had to make a small sacrifice". Really?
Is that what it was? Talking your daughter into getting hitched up to
Coldblooded murderer? Like yourself
Father inlaw and and son inlaw? WOW
What a sacrifice that included her 8 year old son. I don't blame pedro one bit for getting on her case, that was not a low blow. Olmo
Considers nico collateral damage.So
He has no qualms about murdering a child. And his father & mother. And
To add insult to injury he gives her a used diamond necklace. See I
Am almost sure he either murdered alma himself or had it done. And he
Apologize for taking the necklace and giving it to vera.What-a-catch!
When marina called to explain about her messed up life being more of a
Mess than yesterday I kept saying hangup hangup hangup. Then she let the spoiled brat have it. Now Gabe
Should have grabbed the phone but he just sat there while the already bad migraine got worst. What-a-guy!
Poor marina. She feels there is no happiness to live for so she wants to end it. I hope she don't cuz as soon as Olmo and his daddy inlaw kill each other she can start a new
And better life with Andres, and pedro and vera can start over. And
Ivana can go straight to hell. Faby
Can go stay with her daddy. I would
Say Edson and emilia could get together I guess hes very happily
Married. Emilia will be ok, she'll
Become a famous hair stylist to the
Wealthy and elegant and, wait Edson has a nice brother. Lol. Gotta be a
Happy ending for somebody.
That tape is not enough evidence to
Prove that Olmo murdered antonia.
But Fausto spent it to a very sad vera so she ate it up. Nothing but the tn gods kept her from moving the sofa with olmo.
Thank you RgvChick
Dondi365, great recap. You make everything so clear. Loved your quip about Norman Bates. Too bad Zehra won't listen to her inner voice. Zehra, don't go!
Poor Gediz. I don't see Nare falling out of love with Sancar no matter how disappointed she is in her daughter's father.
No sympathy for Menenske after how she treated Melek. I enjoy Sancar's indifference toward her.
dondi and Susanlynn, I also couldn't grasp what was going on with this new Karahman character. We did have intimations that Sancar was mixed up with gangsters in the past when he doesn't give straight answers about the stolen money from the city, as well as seeing how he seemed to be a little more than familiar with negotiating the inside of a prison and even has his preferred torture technique! Nare is already concerned with his lack of empathy and sobre machismo regarding her having been a victim of rape, would she forgive other crimes?
Zehra, no, no, no, no, please noooooooo! But wow, Akin is one convincing psychopath. I keep not recognizing him in his new glasses and 'do.
Deedee
Thanks for the kind words and comments.
Susanlynn, Kahraman is a local businessman who has history with our lead characters. There was a car accident that killed his wife and Zehra was involved in it, too. That’s all I can say about that. Sancar dropped in on him because he was interested in acquiring or investing in the distressed company. He didn’t know Kahraman was a partner in the company until Zehra informed him. Hope that helps. BTW, Kahraman means hero in Turkish.
Yep, Niecie, poor Gediz. I don’t really understand how a guy like him is single. He’s a good catch—he’s got bucks and he’s not bad looking. Maybe he enjoys being a bachelor. Or maybe it’s the awful way he dresses that keeps the girls away. Agree on Menekse.
dondi356
Hello everybody!!
It's been a long, long, LONNNNNNG time since I've been on here, but I am thrilled beyond words to see that the ol' site is still going and to see some familiar (I can't say 'faces', alas, so at least, 'names'... but I hope you all get my drift!)
I wanted to write because, alas... there is precious little that I can contribute to all y'all anymore (or, seeing as I AM a Canadian, I guess i should say "all of you guys".... but i did my Undergrad at Georgia State, and some things, happily, stuck! :-) ) .
Interestingly, I LIVE in Turkey, now, after losing my business, and father, and then moving to Portugal. I have had Covid, in July, in Toronto, and then British Covid, in Portugal, in July. It has been a long, and surreal ride but hasn't it been for all of us this past horrible year? I am alive, and hopeful, and am glad to be writing you all again. I am going to be reaching out to Anita, and Vivi, and Victoria, who I think I have their email addresses to see how they are, but it was WONDERFUL to see familiar 'faces'(/names) like Urban and Diana and Kirby and Steve Boudreaux and RGV Chick and Jarifa, and others. This was/is a really nice forum, and I am so happy to see that you all are keeping it going. Take care of yourselves, everybody! :-)
I wanted to write a little about this new production, 'Diseñando tu Amor', to talk a little bit about it. I'm sorry that I don't know anybody anymore who knows how to post this on the main page but I guess that is what happens when one, alas, has to drop out of sight for a while... :-(
The producer, Pedro Ortiz de Pineda, is a relatively new producer who is younger than I am, a fact that disturbs me to no end. (lol)
He has said that, with this production, with everything that the world has (and is) going through, he wanted very much to make the classic 'Telenovela Rosa'. And, in essence, when you get down to it, you can see that this IS, basically, the story of a valiant young woman- and of people- of humble beginnings, who have to struggle against much adversity- to achieve their dream, and find love. He has made no bones about the fact that this is what he wanted to give his viewers through the medium of the telenovela- no social messages, no narco, no product placement, no nothing. The world is suffering. He wants to give villains that are hateful, heroines that dream, and in the end, we all KNOW that they will win, and for an hour a day... with so much uncertainty in the world, we can tune in because, though we may not know what our heros and heroines are going to suffer through... we can trust in him and in the writers that.... everything WILL be okay.
I don't know about you, but I found that a very comforting message, in these times and, I understood, and appreciated that! I hope Sr. Ortiz de Pinedo gets the audience that he and his production deserve. :-)
(To that effect, I thought it was wonderful to see a clip online of a video of two women, impeccably coiffed, sipping tea, with one saying something along the lines of "I want to destroy her", and the other saying "You can depend on that", or something along those lines... of course it's from this novela. And, that's OKAY. Because we KNOW they are not GOING to! RIGHT????? :-) )
*****BASIC INTEREST****** *Diseñando tu Amor*
Forget about reading the plot summaries on Univision, or Televisa, or Wikipedia... all of which are character-based, focusing on our main heroine(s). The plot, essentially, involves people whose lives are all thrown upside-down and torn apart due to a plane crash that killed (or 'killed') their closest relatives and loved ones, and how they all deal with this, and each other subsequently. AND... the way they deal this, and each other, as well as the things that they discover, and find out subsequently, as well as the way that they deal with and choose to handle these things....
(For this reason, I have no idea why all of the plot summaries are focusing on Valentina and Nora (the sisters) and Helena and individual plot strands....)
He has cast his production mostly with younger, fresh faces as well as bringing a lot of actors who have been severely underutilized by the network a chance to once again become 'First Actors'.
Gala Montes gets her first chance to be Protagonista at the age of 21. No more millionaire divas pretending to be University students with braids in their hair at the age of 39. As Co-Protagonista is Ana Belena, in her first Televisa telenovela after an established career at both Telemundo and TV Azteca. As 'Antagonista', we have Alejandra "Ale" Muller as Nora, the hermana envidia of the good Nora. The one who our heroine loves (because, of course, each is all the other has), but who envies, and plots. Again, Ale Muller is only 23. She was in 'El corazon nunca se equivoca' and, as with Gala Montes (who was part of the ensemble in 'La Mexicana y El Guero'), here she is being promoted which, I think, is something that should be encouraged.
Their galans are Juan Diego Covarrubias, proudly cast because he WASN'T gym-body chiselled physique type, but because of "that something else that a true galan has- charm", Osvaldo de Leon, and the grandson of the legendary actress Magda Guzman (anyone ever see 'Para Volver a Amar, and remember her 'Dona Conchita'???), Chris Pascal.
I love that the first actresses are Norma Herrera and Maria Sorte. Sra. Herrera has a career that extends over 60 years, and has been in telenovelas with the networks since before Sr. Ortiz de Pinedo was even alive, yet hasn't really been given much of anything interesting to do since 'Tres Mujeres' in the year 2000. It is NICE to see her being given a first credit for a change. And Maria Sorte is being given an actual "First Actress" role for a change, as apart to an 'Actriz de Reparto'.
For First Actor we have Sergio Goyri as NOT a villain!!!! :-) There is also Armando Araiza (anyone remember his villain 'Carmelo' in 'Mi Pecado'???) this time as NOT a villain.
Martha Julia, I am THRILLED, is given the integral, VERY important, role of Patricia Manrique. In 'Meu Amor', Patricia was considered "Antagonista-Protagonista".... EVERY bit as important and to the forefront as the lead heroines (Valentina (Gala Montes), and Helena (Ana Belena)). I am not sure if this is going to be the case here, or if Patricia is going to be relegated to a typical role of villain.
Patricia is a FASCINATING character, as written in the original. Hateful. Completely hateful. And, does hateful things but, still... you kind of 'get' her, too because, when it comes down to it- the woman has shitty, shitty luck. I mean... the woman goes through A LOT, and I can't say more, but still, there is no excusing Patricia and the awful things she does, but she's a wonderful but despicable character in the original and I hope she is so here as well.
And Martha Julia is a terrific, chameleonic actress that has been SO underutilized by the network for SO long that it's just disgraceful. Long-time telenovela viewers will remember her as Isadora from 'Destilando Amor', but she has been a dependable 'call upon' for the network for over 25 years now, usually in antagonistic roles, as blonde, brunette, or redhead, with characters that, alas, don't usually have last names but always leaves her mark. This is an important character in this telenovela, and becomes increasingly so (she doesn't JUST throw the heroines out, it becomes.... 'complex', shall we say). I'm glad it's her.
Oh! And, that clip of that video I referenced above, of the two women sipping tea, discussing "destroying" that woman.... the "other" woman in the video (apart from Martha Julia's 'Patricia'), is another actress it is so REFRESHING to see back, the criminally underused and almost impossibly beautiful Spanish actress, Frances Ondiviela (some of you might remember her as 'Julieta' from 'Un Refugio para el Amor'. Here, done up to look like a very wealthy, high-end, Devil-incarnate (which, from what I understand, is exactly what her character, 'Yolanda Vargas', is...).
Evil on male-side of things is represented by an actor named Adrian di Monte, who came over from Telemundo where he acted in 'Eva Luna' and has started out in Televisa, having acted in 'La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo' and also in the main cast in Sr. Ortiz de Pineda's only other production, the dismal 'Cita a Ciegas'. He plays Maria Sorte's ungrateful, social climbing son and (of course) a love interest.
And, essentially, ALL of the characters are intertwined. To EVERYONE. And in EVERY... POSSIBLE.... WAY- familial, pecuniary (i.e.-money), business, romantic. Or, they will be. They just... don't know it yet. And, I can't say anything more.
In the Portuguese version... there was also this... kind of CRAZY plot-twist in terms of another character brought in half-way through that I really DON'T THINK is going to be brought in. The focus here seems to be more on Valentina achieving her dreams and on the 'telenovela rosa' side of things, and, really.... there are enough really, really GREAT subplots with this storyline already. (The original, 'Meu Amor' ran for 319 hour-long episodes, and I can't see for a MILLION years ANY American or Mexican viewer having the attention span for that. :-(
After it's all said and done, I'll tell you what happened. ;-)
Anyway.... this is just my two cents. Unfortunately, I can't even watch it here. Both Televisa AND Univision have blocked all content coming in to Turkey, so I am reliant on whatever private citizens copy and paste onto 'YouTube', and onto private forums.
But I DID want add this to you, and give you all my salutations, and my best wishes. I hope that they find you all well, and, please... take care of yourselves. All my best to you from here in Antalya! :-)
Dondi lovely recap. Love your story telling.
Must sancar keep threatening my guy gediz. I see nothing wrong with the
Way he dresses. Hes just a good lookin man who makes the clothes look good. I was watching him watch
Nare and sancar, gediz is so inlove love with that lady. He was wishing
She loved him the way she loves the beast. My heart kinda goes out to him. Unrequited love sucks was the look on His face. And sancar needs to stop with the threats. Hes
A brut. And not the sweet smelling kind.
Guven and Kareem r totally useless.
If they got married it'd be said they gave birth to akin. Now That didn't Come out right but yall get it. Yuck!!!
So zehra caused the accident that got her the crooked walk? I'd like to hear more about that.
Akin got a death wish. People like him always do.
Karharam seems interesting, what's
His story? Besides what we heard last night? More to come.
Menekse's days are numbered as the mrs. Of the man who was Never her
Hubby. Don't feel sorry for her at all.
Thank you Dondi. The lovely person that you are.
So wonderful to see your post. I am so sorry that you were ill and wish you heartfelt condolences on the loss of your father.
Your post was filled with wonderful information and was fascinating as always. I don't believe Diseñando tu Amor will be covered here at Caray, Caray but I did see the first episode and heartily agree that Martha Julia is marvelous and has been far under utilized.
Stevey, I do want to tell you that Anita passed away last year quite suddenly and she is very much missed. Everyone else you mentioned (except Vivi who pops in every now and then) is still here.
Your presence is a breath of fresh air. I wish you peace and better days ahead...
I hope you will be able to post again in the very near future.

“Among my stillness was a pounding heart.” ― Shannon A. Thompson
Previously: Marina, wracked by overwhelming grief, sadness and loss, tries to process the recent intense conversations and revelations swirling in her consciousness. It is the words of Laiza, her truest confidante and friend, beseeching her to be happy that steel her reserve. As she walks on an overpass, the street below illuminated with light and pulsating with life, she cries out that is what she will do!
Two men see her at the rail and run over, mistakenly thinking she is going to jump. Be calm one says and warns don’t do it! Marina shakes her head no and indicates that is not her plan.
Ivana and Alberto rush into Octavio’s looking for Faby, adding yet another home invasion to Ivana’s score card. Yes she is here he admits as Faby comes out crying. Faby tells Ivana that she lied to her all her life and reproaches that Ivana kept half of who she is from her. Ivana tells Faby Alberto IS her father has been all her life. She isn’t a child Faby asserts. Octavio interjects that he is her father but Ivana trumps that by sneering I am her mother. She tries to grab Faby. Octavio tries to reason with her but seeing there is no point, urges Faby to go with Ivana and Alberto. Faby raises her head rather imperiously and says very well but I won’t forgive you as a parting shot to her mother. Octavio is visibly upset.
Pedro relates Vera’s version of Antonia’s murder to Teo. Teo listens intently but doesn’t seem to dissuade him. Teo asks what Pedro’s heart is telling him.
Marina goes to visit Andres and thanks him. He tells her he is sorry about Laiza. Marina tells Andres that Laiza is right, she has so much to be happy about. Andres assures her that happiness is within her. He has to leave but when he asks if she will be all right, she assures him that she had no intention of jumping.
Vera visits her not so daddy dearest. This isn’t a social visit Vera scowls. She asks Fausto for the video that shows Olmo entering the hotel; she wants to show it to Pedro. Fausto wonders if Vera would choose Pedro over him. Fausto, who has absolutely no intension of supply the video, tells her he doesn’t have it. Tadeo had the video so since Tadeo is gone so is the video. Jacinto confirms this lie, like the little bottom feeder he is. Fausto thinks Vera should stop spending time with Pedro. Verastalks out totally frustrated.
Pedro approaches Olmo at stables, wanting to talk about the murder of Antonia. Olmo assures Pedro that he had nothing to do with Antonia’s murder. Pedro pushes further asking where he was when Antonia was killed. Olmo wonders why Pedro has an interest in what happened to his wife’s mother. Olmo basically tells him he owes no explanation.
Lola and Vera sip drinks in fine crystal tumblers. Vera wonders why Lola hadn’t told her about Laiza. Lola replies that they don’t talk very often and reminds Vera not to tel[ Delia. Vera says her problems pale in comparison to Laiza’s. She then admits to Lola that she finally told Pedro that Olmo killed her mother and that he didn’t believe her. This has turned into a snowball, gathering girth as it rolls down a steep slope. Vera is afraid of how Pedro will react if she tells him that she is Fausto’s daughter. As well she should.
Diana
Alicia thinks the Council should see Raul Bernal who has never shown his face. When Teo asks why she is so interested in seeing Raul, she replies that she is bored.
Alberto and Fausto discuss business as Jacinto silently fumes. Alberto tells Fausto that El Chamaco only trusts Ivana which is one of his mistakes. Alberto will inform Fausto when the next money exchange will take place. After Alberto leaves, Fausto senses that Jass is angry. Jass doesn’t know why they need Alberto, they should work on their own.
Mélida is getting an ultrasound and snaps her fingers to get Gaston’s attention. The test begins and Mélida actually smiles! Is that my baby Gaston asks, clearly entranced. Gaston smiles and is clearly moved. He admits this truth to Mélida and she urges him to put their difference aside. On the way home, Mélida thinks that they still have hopes of being a family.
This brief moment of shared happiness is shattered when Gaston gets a call from Marina. He said he just saw the ultrasound and then she relates Laiza’s tragic news. He looks devastated.
Pedro wants to see the file on Antonia’s murder, but Octavio can’t access it since it is in another state. When Octavio asks what Pedro really wants, Pedro wants to see the person who was accused of the murder.
Lola and Laiza are in the hospital cafeteria. Gaston shows up, explaining Marina told him. Laiza thanks him with a sigh as tears pool in her eyes. Laiza and Gaston meet with the doctor who tells them she has brain cancer and the tumor is growing quickly. They will need to see the results before they can determine the course of treatment. Lola comes in and she and Gaston envelop Laiza in a huge hug.
Vera and Julio are in front of Octavio’s vision board. Vera tells Julio and Octavio that she needs to find one single piece of evidence that Olmo is a criminal. Julio doesn’t think Vera should be confiding in Pedro. Vera insists that Pedro should know the truth since he has been lied to all his life. Octavio tells Vera that they are investigating Olmo but they also need to investigate Fausto.
Vera asks they try to understand her because if Teo finds out that Fausto is her father, he will go tell Pedro. Julio thinks that Vera is worrying too much about Pedro. And Julio of course is far too consumed with Vera, but I digress…
Delia goes into Olmo’s office, face unsmiling and icy. Sit down he invites. Olmo worries because Nico keeps rejecting him. Delia advises that instead of worrying about Nico, he should worry about his own daughter!!
Gaston tells Mélida that Laiza is dying of cancer. He sobs as she puts her hand on his head.
Diana
Ivana and El Chamaco take a stroll. El Chamaco has another shipment for Ivana but it is double in size. When Ivana expresses concern, El Chamaco threatens to go with the competition—Fausto Galicia.
Pedro arrives at Huatulco and meets Federico, the man convicted of Antonia’s murder. He pleads with Pedro to help him; he swears he didn’t kill anyone! He needs to get out of there because his parents are old and ill. Pedro looks solemn but it is obvious he believes Federico. Federico’s attorney asks Pedro why he was talking to his client. After Pedro explains, the attorney clarified that he is assigned to cases that appear to be unjust.
Ivana tells Olmo that Fausto is alive and wants to do business with El Chamaco. Olmo is glad that they finally have a clue as to how to get to Fausto but he will need Ivana to get close to El Chamaco. Ivana agrees. Olmo doesn’t want her getting close to Fausto as he wouldn’t want her to get hurt. Ivana insists that she needs to deal with Fausto because Olmo’s life is in jeopardy. She assures him that she knows how to take care of herself. When Olmo tells he that she is an intriguing woman, she wants him to show her...they kiss.
Delia picks this most opportune time to quietly open the sliding doors and drinks in this sordid scene, mouth agape.
Vera visits Antonia’s grave crying to her mother that she did everything wrong. She wonders what Pedro will do when he finds out that Fausto is her father. He will become angry...and she will end up losing him.
Ivana and Faby have dinner, yet no food is consumed. Ivana tries to explain why she kept the truth from Faby. Faby wonders if there is anything real about Ivana.
Laiza and Marina commiserate as the doorbell rings. Laiza confides that Gaston was the one with her when she got the diagnosis... and she felt so secure in his arms. Why are you here Laiza wonders? I want another opinion Gaston opines. We are going to see the best possible specialist – he was not about to leave the love of his life alone! And with that, they are off.
Diana
It seems an appointment is procured within minutes! Ah if only real life mirrored this just a bit. The doctor is honest, telling Laiza that she has never seen a tumor that big. However, the situation is not without any hope. She can operate but she can’t guarantee that Laiza will survive the operation.
Laiza cries that the operation is very costly and asks if she can be operated in a public hospital. The doctor tells her that they need special equipment and there is only one private hospital that is equipped. The operation needs to be done soon to avoid any further spread of the disease. Both Gaston and Marina say money is no issue.
Ivana shows Faby pictures of her younger self, smiling and clearly in love with Octavio. Ivana admits that she loved Octavio but had to give him up. Faby queries what could possibly be more important than love? Family Ivana answers. Olmo wanted someone/something more for her and Octavio did not measure up.
Ivana doesn’t regret giving up Octavio. When Faby points out that she is not a Casares Ivana assures her that she IS and she has to live up to the name. Faby is upset that Ivana is insinuating that she must give up Eddy. Ivana tells her that yes, she does. Faby will need to maintain the family’s social status. Faby tells her to get out.
Jacinto is still mewling as to why Fausto needs Alberto. Fausto replies that Alberto can get him info that Vera hasn’t been able to access.
Olmo asks Alberto for an update on Fausto and Alberto suggests that Olmo give up his search for Fausto. Olmo, whose intuition is now on high alert, stares furiously and wonders aloud what Alberto is not telling him!
FIN
Diana
Thank you RgvChick for your marvelous dialog translations!
It appears there may be hope for Laiza after all!
Diana
Thank you RgvChick for another superb summary.
Yeah! There’s hope for Laiza. I’m sure the surgery will be successful. Not only that, but the doctors haven’t done a biopsy yet and although she has a tumor, it might not be cancerous. 🤞🏼
Glad that Pedro met the man unfairly accused of Antonia’s death. Olmo may not have killed her, we know Fausto did, but Olmo had an innocent young man imprisoned.
Fabi is amazing. She will not be manipulated by her evil mother.
Vera has become increasingly annoying with not telling the entire truth to Pedro!
Stevey, what a pleasant surprise this morning seeing your post! Please accept my sympathy on the death of your father. I am sorry to hear you have had such difficult times. Your telenovela expertise is always a treat to read. Thanks for the info on “Diseñando el amor” .
Take care.
Diana,
“Vera visits her not so daddy dearest” had me laughing this morning. Thanks for the great recap. I wasn’t watching very carefully so I needed this.
Well, well, well, Delia got the eyeful last night. I wonder if that will change how she feels about old Olmo.
Thanks so much Jarifa!
I think Delia catching that lip lock between Olmo and Ivana will indeed add to her disenchantment with Olmo. He's fallen off his pedestal and now continues to tumble further.
Fe, I am also crossing my fingers for Laiza. I hope this storyline concludes quickly although I'm not sure if Gaston will leave his not yet born son. A mess all the way around.
I believe this is being pre-empted by the president's speech tonight...
Diana
Just thinking this a.m. that Delia will have to really control her reaction to the Olmo Ivana connection because the family will end up paying for Laiza’s surgery. What a mess, indeed!
I hadn't thought about that Jarifa. Delia doesn't even know about the gravity of the situation does she? At the breakneck speed Laiza saw the specialist, the operation might be over before Delia even knows!
Perhaps she is holding this latest bit of information (the repulsive kiss) for the future. She didn't burst through the doors so maybe something is holding her back, telling her what she saw might put her in danger.
Diana
Diana, I do not think Delia has any idea that Laiza is Ill yet either. It is going to be interesting.
Thank you , Diana for another great of all the turmoil .
I dont know why the writers decided we needed sick Laiza....why? Gas is a damaged soul . I feel fir hum , but i just cant reach him.
After all these years, Ivana finally has Olmo in her grasp. She sure dies love to grasp.her guys, too. She hokds their heads in those taloned hands like a basketball. But Delia, Faby, and Delia all saw those embraces...Ivana is getting careless and arrogant . Giid luck with tbat . I see a great big anvil over Ivsnas head. Splat.
Thank you Susanlynn!
Good question...Not only is Laiza's illness hard to fathom in and of itself, given that she is Delia's life and world makes it almost impossible to comprehend.
I have to admit, this life line shocked me. I hope the writers don't put them (and us) through too much more. Again, if she does pull through, will Gaston leave his comfortable life and his child for her? The former, yes, the latter, I don't know. I would have also mentioned Gabe as well but he has been a jerk lately, and whether this is temporary or not, I'm reserving my pity all for Laiza.
"Ivana is getting careless and arrogant" is exactly right. A fitting anvil would be for her to be alone, no power, no money and no family.
Diana
Akin has shopped for his dinner with Zehra. Smiling in anticipation, Zehra is dressed and ready to go. Kavruk is sitting outside holding a bird [is that the alaca kuş?]. His beautiful Zehra approaches. Are you waiting for your car, Kavruk, she asks? No, he just needed fresh air. She greets the bird with a kiss. [Poor Kavruk, no kiss for him.] Zehra wants to give him the car keys and he tells her she can keep them.
She tells him that’s not necessary. Kavruk gets hopeful, are you not seeing this man again? Zehra tells him she is having dinner tonight with him and his mother. But she will take a taxi because she can’t drive in the shoes she’s wearing. Kavruk offers to give her a ride. [Good, Kavruk]. Zehra happily accepts his offer. Zehra forgot, she wanted to bring a painting as a gift and goes back into the house. Teary Kavruk sits and waits.
Kavruk speaks to the bird still in his hand. Am I supposed to give her away? Kavruk cries. What am I doing? Why did I volunteer? Halise and Menekse happen to be strolling the grounds and come upon Kavruk. He has no idea they are nearby.
She doesn’t love me, he laments. I am Karvuk Omer and she’s the daughter of the Efeoglu family. Uh, oh, Halise overhears. Kavruk continues, she is a shooting star and if she glowed in my heart and in the sky, that would be enough for me. Where did all the stars go? Why is it so dark? What am I supposed to do now my dear bird? He sobs uncontrollably. I must do my duty, he says and he goes out to the car where Zehra is waiting.
Halise has a look of anger and hatred. Menekse has that smirky smile [why does she always seem happiest when others are suffering? I can’t stand her].
Zehra asks Kavruk to hurry, she’s late. Is the bird coming with us, she asks? Kavruk lets it go. They get in the car.
Muge is still wallowing in depression at home. Gediz comes home and Refika tells him she is worried about his sister. She hasn’t gone to work and she doesn’t want to talk about it, Refika says, something is wrong but I don’t know what it is. Gediz sends his mom away, he will speak with Muge.
Gediz tosses a bank book on the table in front of Muge. What is this, she asks? Gediz says, I know you are ashamed to ask me for money. I don’t want you to feel this way because you’ve always been a successful woman.
Muge starts crying, I don’t know what I’m doing. Gediz says her money is there, she can use it whenever she wants. Muge accuses him of subconsciously trying to block her out.
Gediz is ticked. You’re trying to psychoanalyze me? It’s not my subconscious, it’s my whole being that wants to stop communicating with you. He turns to leave. Muge asks what will I tell mom? How will I explain what happened?
Gediz says, tell her that you planned to give your money to your psycho lover but Sancar noticed and forced you to buy a car instead. Tell her Gediz offered to teach you to drive and you tried to look excited to mislead him. [Wow Gediz, I think Sancar had more compassion for Muge]
Muge says that’s not what happened [it isn’t?] I didn’t lie to you, I never would. I was not hiding. I wanted… Gediz sits close to his sister and asks what did you want? Fun? Were you happy? I was, he says, but you weren’t. While you thought of ways to get rid of your brother, I was happy to have you at home. Congratulations, sister, now we are both miserable. Gediz gets up and goes.
dondi356
Gediz gets a call from Guven. Guven asks him if he has the money. Muge has followed her brother and listens. Do you have Akin, Gediz asks? Guven says he will send the location and if there is a problem with the money, he will tell everything to Sancar. Gediz continues on his way out of the house. Hmm…what will Muge do with this?
Akin sets the table for dinner date. Zehra is on her way with Kavruk.
Sancar calls Guven. Kerem is there with Guven. What’s up? Sancar wonders why Guven hasn’t called him yet. Guven says it’s because he hasn’t heard from Kerem. If you cheat, you will pay, Sancar reminds him and hangs up.
Nare is looking at a bunch of pots and pans and houseware strewn all over the place. She wants to know where they came from. Elvan, obviously. Elvan and Melek try to make light of it. Elvan says they are a team and she wanted to contribute to the household. Besides, she was sick of eating pizza. Nare is appreciative but she knows it was a lot of money. Nare notices Elvan’s bracelets are missing and she is shocked. Yes, Elvan has sold her jewelry. We see the flashback. Elvan did decide to keep her wedding rings, though.
Elvan tells Nare, I’m not like you, I lack skills to support myself. I just knew my bangles are valuable. I thought you opened the door for me, so I didn’t think twice. I don’t need those bracelets. They catch the eye and shine but like certain people, they can’t do anything else. There are laughs and smiles and a group hug. The doorbell rings. Nare laughs and says, we will talk later.
Sancar is at the door. He tells Nare she needs to ask who’s at the door first before opening. Just be thankful I open the door for you, she says, you’re a married man and shouldn’t be here every night. People will talk. Sancar says its ok because Elvan is here.
Melek is happy to see her dad. She leads him into the house and shows him everything that Elvan has bought. Sancar doesn’t like that Elvan did this. He tells her she was supposed to ask him if she needed anything. Yes, Elvan says, she appreciates it and will let him know if she really needs something. Sancar takes out his wallet and asks the cost. Nare turns on him, what are you going to do? Give money to Elvan? [why is she getting so upset?] Yes, he’s going to give her money.
Nare says that’s not necessary. This house belongs to Elvan, Melek and me, she says. If we need something, we will get it without your help. [How stubborn she is. Melek is his daughter and he should contribute to the household]
Melek comes back and happily shows her dad all the things that were bought for school. Nare stands there looking annoyed.
Kavruk pulls up at “Asortik” the place where Akin aka Mert is staying. Kavruk is suspicious. Zehra sees nothing wrong. This is a meeting with his family, Zehra explains. Still, Kavruk worries—that man…. Ah, says Zehra, I don’t know much about him but we are talking about a man who does everything for his mother. Does he sound like a bad person? Don’t worry about me and thanks for bringing me. [So glad Karvuk is there.] He asks Zehra to call him later and he will come pick her up. Great she says. Kavruk decides to stick around. [good call, Kavruk]
Zehra goes to knock on the door, but Akin opens before she could knock. He was eager for her to arrive. You were waiting by the door, right? Your mom must be so jealous, she says. Zehra enters and looks around, where is your mother, she asks? Uh, she went to a friend who just arrived from Istanbul. She should be back soon, he says, have a seat. Red flags all over the place, Zehra. She does look a bit uncomfortable.
dondi356
Sancar is sitting with his daughter as she draws a picture. She whispers to him that furniture is coming tomorrow but they don’t know how to tell mom. Sancar asks why did they let Elvan buy furniture. He would have bought it. Nare hears this and tells Sancar it is not necessary. She will repay Elvan for everything. [Nare continues to be a downer.]
Sancar says it’s time for him to go. He tells Melek he will be back tomorrow and they can visit schools together. He asks Nare to step outside with him.
Nare’s ready for it and Sancar starts, you will be the lucky one to take Melek to school. You will give her a pencil and teach her how to hold it, you bought the school supplies, but what about me? Nare doesn’t understand. I couldn’t even buy her backpack, he says.
Nare tries to explain, Elvan bought without telling me. So what, he says, you could have said to wait for her father. He continues, I didn’t have the chance to buy anything, she’s my daughter, too. I can’t even decorate her room. He’s disappointed and frustrated. He asks, how am I going to get back the eight years you stole from me?
Nare is willing to make a concession. She tells Sancar he can repay Elvan for the furniture and they will share the school expenses. She’s not earning much at her job and this will help. Sancar says not to worry, she will earn better in her other job. What does that mean? Sancar walks away from her without giving an answer.
She stops him from leaving. She asks what are you talking about? I’m going to continue working at the marina. Ok, he says, you will continue at the marina. I won’t say more than that. He’s gotta go, he has things to do.
Nare won’t let him go. She’s upset and repeats she’s staying at the marina. Wait for tomorrow, Ambassador’s daughter, Sancar says, everything will be different. Tomorrow you will discover the truth. Discover what, she asks? You know what, he says. I’d love to trust you completely, Sancar tells her. You don’t trust me, she asks? No, he replies and drives away leaving a worried Nare.
She makes a call to Gediz. I have the location and I’m going, he tells Nare, it’s a place called Asortik. Muge is listening. Nare wants to go with him. Gediz says it’s not necessary. She raises her voice, she wants to go because she thinks Sancar is up to something. Gediz will come for her.
Muge watches Gediz drive away. She gets in her car, swallows her fear and after a couple of lurching starts and stops, she takes off.
Sancar is driving like a madman. Where is he going?
The dinner date of doom. Zehra looks at her watch, she asks about Mert’s mom. Are you nervous, he asks. Zehra is honest, she is nervous and thinks she should leave and he should look for his mother. He tells her to wait, he will call his mother. Zehra is feeling uncomfortable. Maybe she was wrong to visit with a man she doesn’t know.
Akin has a suggestion. I’ll call my mother and we will drink some wine in the garden while we wait for her. There are people outside and you will feel safer. Zehra apologizes to him (!), she didn’t mean to offend. She’s just not used to dating. No explanation necessary, Akin says, go to the garden and I’ll be there in a minute. Zehra doesn’t want to have the drink, though. He talks her into having one drink with him.
Zehra takes a seat at a table outside. Akin brings two glasses of wine. Zehra says she has never had a drink before. Akin questions, not even in college? Well yes, but it really affects me, she admits, I usually fall asleep. [crap, just what this psycho wants to hear.]
dondi356
Akin says he’s calling his mom. She’s making him look bad in front of the prettiest woman he’s ever seen. The bastard pretends to speak with his mother. He tells Zehra she’s waiting for a taxi and it should arrive in 15 minutes. They drink the wine. If I fall asleep before she gets here, it’s your fault, Zehra says.
Akin says she can tell him her story so she won’t fall asleep. You mean my leg, she asks? He nods. It happened when I was a child, she says, it’s been a long time since I told anyone about the accident. But I’m not just anyone, Akin tells her, we are the same, right? Oh, no, she’s buying it and takes another sip of wine.
We had an accident when I was 6. Muge was involved, you will meet her soon. She was 15 and she was driving a car for the first time. Suddenly, a woman appeared out of nowhere. We crashed and the woman died. I got this injury. And that was the last time Muge got behind the wheel of a car. Akin pretends to be sad for Zehra.
Muge is struggling to drive. She stops or the car stalls and she has a mini meltdown. She calms herself down. She’s on a mission.
Gediz shows up and Nare hops in his car. What do you think Sancar is up to, he asks? Nare doesn’t know but he sounded strange. He said tomorrow I would find out the truth. Gediz thinks it’s because Guven gave him Akin. But Guven gave us the location, so….
So he’s at Asortik, Nare asks? And the money? It’s in a bag. Did you call the police, she asks? Gediz has set something up but he wants to give Akin a beatdown first before turning him in. Nare doesn’t like that. Gediz says he’s not Sancar. I won’t kill him, but he must pay for what he’s done.
Sancar shows at Guven’s door. I gotta laugh at how Sancar grabs Guven everytime he shows up. Sancar growls, where is Kerem? Guven’s shaking in his shoes and says, I don’t know. Guven tries to stall Sancar. Sancar demands that Guven call Kerem, now.
Sancar leads Guven to his phone. Call him, Sancar shouts, I’m an impatient man! Guven freezes and Sancar grabs the phone. He reads a text: “Sancar offers 2, try to get 3 from them.”
Sancar makes a call from the room phone. This is Sancar, send an officer to Guven Celebi’s room. You got it.
Guven is trembling with fear. Listen to me, Sancar says, if you want to stop me from killing you, and handing your dead body to the officer, tell me who else has Akin’s location. Guven can’t even speak. Is it Gediz, Sancar asks? Guven blinks. That’s all Sancar needs. Is he with your daughter? Guven gives the slightest of nods.
Sancar stares, countdown to explosion…3... 2... 1... Where is Akin! Where! Where? I don’t know, Guven snivels. I don’t know anything, Kerem hasn’t told me, I swear. Guven begs for mercy.
The guy Sancar called shows up. Sancar asks him to take Guven to the bathroom. No one will hear from him tonight. Guven pleads for mercy as he’s taken away.
Sancar is left to figure out where Akin might be. He looks through Guven’s phone for clues. He finds the picture of the sleeping Akin and takes a close look. He notices a part of a neon sign outside the window.
Sancar’s guy returns. Guven is tied hands and feet, he says. Sancar asks the guy if he knows places with “orti” in the name. They run down a list of names. Asortik! That rings a bell with the guy. Sancar asks, where is this place? The guy tells him it’s close by.
And we are out.

Dondi356: Why do I get the feeling that we're not getting a happy ending here for everyone ?
OMG!! Stevey is back!! I am so sorry tha you have lost your father, my most sincere condolences to you and your family. But wow, what a wonderful treat you have given us with all the background on "Disenando Tu Amor." No one comes near to your uhmmm...info-novelas?? If networks can have infomercials, then we here at Caray can certainly have infonovelas, que no? :-)
Take care and keep dropping in. If you want access to posting pages, just email me at rgvchick627@gmail.com. And as Susanlynn has already told you, Anita has left us but her legacy lives on. We posted a page in her memory and you can find it here:
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2020/09/announcement-remembering-anita.html
Take care and keep dropping in, you have been missed!
Diana, I am so late to this party...busy day! Thank you so much for such a wonderful retelling of last night's mishaps and misdeeds.
I don't have much to add, but I am sitting at the "Let Laiza live" table. Que triste, that this is the only storyline that quickly comes to mind. Oh and yes, Delia seeing the two snakes exchange venom...EWWWW!!! I'm glad she is finally opening her eyes and seeing Olmo as he really is...it only took her what...about 30 years???
dondi356, I've fallen behind in the episodes, but I see your recaps and am SO tempted to read them. I know they are better than watching the episode, but I just don't want to miss seeing those mesmerizing eyes....you know which ones I mean :-)
I'll be back when I catch up :-)
RgvChick, "two snajkes exchange venom". HA!!!! Love it.
Yes, Delia's illusions have been shattered!
I hope the writers will follow through on a cure for Laiza after getting our hopes up!
Diana
Thanks DONDI. The intricacies of this novela are much easier to follow with your wonderful assistance!
I wish I could have watched the original Turkish for the scene where Kavruk is poetically expressing his inner most thoughts aloud and Halise and Menekse are listening a escondidas (actually they were just standing there). It was very classical theatre, Shakespearean or ancient Greek or Persian.
Jeez Gediz (pronounced with a hard g and a long i, so it rhymes)! Rub it in to Muge, why don't you?
"Sancar says its ok because Elvan is here."
So it's ok for a married man to show up and enter the house of TWO single (or recently separated) women!?
Despite Sancar's moon eyes, Nare is never going to let the hurt go. Nor is Sancar going to admit he is wrong and obsessive.
Dondi, thank you for another superb recap of all the drama .
Zehra ( which my tablet calls Zebra)is so pretty and sweet and gullible . I hope the Calvary in the form of San, Gediz , Nare , Muge , and Kavruk arrives to save Zehra from that demon Akin .
The scene of Melek so happily showing San the school supplies that Elvan bought her was so sweet. It made me think of how excited my 4 grand girls are to get new school things.
I think those gold bangels are kind of an insurance policy for women in some cultures. It was generous of Elvan to sell them to buy necessities for the house. Even has a golden heart.
Just wanted to post a couple of random comments after watching the first two episodes. The opening shot of Querétaro, Mexico was beautiful. I think it's in the highlands like San Miguel. The settng of the Rancho is amazing. How about the spring where Valentina and Ricardo went to swim?
The characters all seem interesting. Two of the dads, Guillermo and Armando have serious anger issues. Dang. Give your kids a little benefit of the doubt. I don't know where Valentina gets all her designing talent. She dresses like she's from a different century. Nora seemed pretty pleased with herself as she betrayed her sister. I'm glad she got kicked out of the house too. Ricardo doesn't make a very good first impression. He's afraid of his dad and is also a thief.
Probably not a good omen that Valentina sees a vision of her father in the street when he's supposed to be on the plane that subsequently crashes. The crash site looks hopeless but at least Ricardo and his father Armando survived the impact. Before an explosion takes him out, Armando goes off on Ricardo calling him a pickpocket and a maldito bastardo. That sounds bad. He also says he was born as a result of his mom cheating with the chauffeur and if not for his sister Patricia he would have let him die. Ricardo, maybe you should help Camila. She at least won't yell at you the whole time.
They give out way too much info about the crash on the TV news before the next of kin are given any information. At the airport they announce the deceased over the loudspeaker. What?!?
There is supposed to be one survivor which makes it hard on everyone waiting for news. Patricia has just lost her father, her brother, and her husband in the crash so just to pass the time Guillermo asks her which one she hopes survives. She comes back with "If you were on the flight, Helena would choose her brother over YOU!" Ouch.
It turns out that the only survivor of the crash is Camila. She's in pretty bad shape and her face is complely wrapped in bandages. I don't know how her mother was able to indentify her. Please tell me that there won't be any permanent damage to her face. That could put the hurt on her modeling career.
Helena tries to lose herself in her work. I thought she might honor her brother's last wish for her to make ammends with her father but he doesn't make it very easy. Something big happened between them 20 years ago. She's thinking of hiring a designer to help with the upcoming fashion show which will feature a wedding dress. This is interesting because Valentina dreams of designing and has a pretty good wedding dress already sketched out.
The cliffhanger from episode two is guillermo finding out that either Valentina or Nora is really his daughter
Steve: “Why do I get the feeling that we're not getting a happy ending here for everyone?” Answer is simple—because this is a Turkish show.
Anon: it's nice to watch in Turkish with English subs if you can find it. The translation of Kavruk’s lament was much clearer from the original Turkish into English. The Spanish pronunciation of Turkish names drives me up the wall. Kavruk is a Shakespearean character.
Susanlynn: we can take bets on who will grab Akin first…Sancar, Gediz & Nare, Muge, Kavruk? Good point about the gold being an insurance policy.
Edits are another annoying thing. They cut this last night. Halise has been camped out in the living room for the past couple of days waiting for the townies to come and visit. No one came and she’s pissed. She yells for Gulsiye and Menekse. Menekse reminds Halise that the doctor told her she should walk around. Gulsiye calls Halise out on waiting around for people to visit. Halise is in a very bitchy mood.
She goes to take a stroll with Menekse and sees Kavruk with the bird. She gives him a hard time too, because he took Elvan to the market during the day. Halise has not learned any lesson from recent events. She’s as nasty as ever.
dondi356
JoelD, thank you for all the information!
I only saw the first episode but agree the scenery is lovely.
I thought Ricardo would also make it out alive, I guess not.
In view of your interesting summary, perhaps you might consider becoming a recapper. We would love to have you.
I don't know if you've posted here before, but if not, a warm welcome.
Diana
Thank you SO much for your "Welcome back!" comments. You have no idea how much they mean to me.
JoelD, thank you for popping in with your comments.
I AM trying to piece together a summary of Capitulo 2 but, as I mentioned before, all content from both Televisa AND Univision has been blocked coming in to this country. There is NO WAY that I can access ANYTHING, unless I can, basically, 'piece' it together.
There is Mexican blog run by some, quite frankly, really, REALLY, HILARIOUS queens (and I DON'T mean that in a derogatory way in the LEAST... they will be the FIRST to call themselves that) that is, quite frankly, just a FOUNTAIN of information and entertainment DAILY. It's the kind of place where, about the upcoming 'La Desalmada', someone got this 'Instagram' photo of the Mother-Daughter villains of the telenovela, Marjorie de Sousa and Kimberley dos Ramos: https://www.instagram.com/p/COB6IZipeqG/?utm_source=ig_embed
And the comment to the post was "Ojala sean mega perras y asesinas en serie!"
Which translate to "Let's hope they will be mega-bitches, and serial killers!!!"
Anyway... I am digressing....
I have... amazingly... been able to get most of Capitulo 2 sent to me. In pieces. And, I think I'm piecing a recap together. But.... GOD, I am wordy. And.... there is a LOT going on!
Is this okay??????
Please let me know, and thanks.
My continued best wishes to you all, from here in Turkey. :-)
But anyways thank you for that very
Good summary of AMOR D. Sounds like a very good tn. I wish you could recap it for us.
Dondi is recapping "Embajador" it's really good show. And RgvChick is keepin Us On the edge of our seats with ACUERDAS. Turkey can really crank Some good stories. And some disappointing ones too. So sorry to hear About all your troubles, this year Has been hell for a lot of people.
And its fortunate for some they came through it. But we are stronge people we will get through this. And by the grace of God you will also. Sorry to hear about your father too. Stop by again sometime.
Disappointing that Halise hasn't learned anything during the time she' be ostracized by her family....or her health scare. The way she looked upon Karuk with contempt was telling...she's still a snob who's forgotten her routes. And she is definitely going to be an obstacle for Karuk if he ever gets the nerve to approached Zehra. Too bad cause he really is a good guy....but beneath Halise's standards. And she knows he supports Nare and Sacar. Hope he knows enough to watch out for a viper when he sees one.
Yeah...the list of suspects who could easily off Akin is growing. He continues to collect enemies all due to his obsession with Nare. Maybe they can all catch him at the same time and play punch the pinata.
Poor Gediz....he looks at Nare with those puppy dog eyes knowing he can admire but not touch. Hopefully he finds someone for him...although I think he and Nare are the better pairing. Besides, Sancar is married...and I can't see Meneske leaving without a dirty fight. I still say she's going to play the pregnancy card since they did do the deed. Sancar is stuck if she truly is pregant...by him or Loki.
Speaking of Loki...Sancar heard Meneske's conversation though the door...how could he not hear her when she said I love you Loki. So disappointed that he didn't address that. Guess the writers are going to drag that mystery out for awhile...oh well.
Nett
RGVchick another good one. And The crazy keeps getting crazier. Ivana

I never liked that custom. But it's the culture.
I like elvan, shes to good for yahya.
Thank you Dondi. This better end well. I hope they don't pullanymore of that AMOR ETERNO crap.
I've watched 3 Turkish novelas, 2 had good (happy) endings, so not all end badly. Now I'm watching two others, as well as Embajador.... it's a toss up as to the endings.
Dondi, I loved the Norman Bates remark for Monday, so true. Akin gets creepier each episode. Your recaps are wonderful, thank you!
Poor Sancar! He wants to be part of Melek's life and Nare should be happy about that. Gawd! I wish Sancar and Nare would just kiss and let the past be the past! I know they couldn't do anything more in a Turkish novela!
Gediz seems like a good catch, but let's face it, even his most lovestruck looks don't hold a candle to Sancar's.
Sancar could melt the remaining glaciers!
Done, way done, with Halise - she has no power now ,I hope. Yahya may be redeemable, or could be a snake in the grass. Meneske- waste of time.
You go, Elvan! You're the best one on the show! At least the smartest.
Beth S.
JoelD: Thank you very much for the recap of last night's episode.
Diana: Why do I get the feeling that Guillermo might NOT be among the living ?
Stevey, so sorry to hear about your father. This is never easy to deal with, especially in times such as these, then getting Covid twice. Egad. I hope you can get vaccinated. I had my second shot over a month ago and New York City is now vaccinating everyone 16 and older. No appointments needed.
E-mail me re your viewing problem.
Acuerdas
I was having intermittent internet problems for a few days and finally caught up. If we actually are in Ultimas Semanas the dominoes are beginning to fall.
Laiza's life being in danger will be part of Delia's turning away from this family of vipers. Unless there is a miracle for her all their money couldn't help her. Delia should be happy that Laiza didn't end up with Gaston even if he had been able to walk away from Olmo. Olmo wouldn't just lie down for that.
Faby is the feistiest teen I think I've ever seen in a TN to date. She isn't taking any shit from her parents. Ivana's whole "For the Family" thing isn't cutting any ice with her. Nor with most viewers either, I suspect.
I know I've said it before, but this story makes me happy I wasn't born to that kind of money. Giving up anything "for the Family" -- especially a true love -- is nothing short of indentured servitude or slavery. Since Ivana seems to reject who she was when she was involved with Octavio she is thoroughly brainwashed. Melida is no better.
While I agree that being completely alone would be an appropriate fate for Ivana I seriously think that nobody would be safe. She needs to die. Before her final fate happens I hope we find out whether or not she killed her sister.
While it seems improbable, I predict the final showdown between Olmo and Fausto will be a physical brawl that could end with them falling off a cliff or something. There are precedents for that.
Hi Urban, am glad you are caught up. The last few episodes have captured some of the excitement we had missed.
I am also hopeful that Delia will be able to leave the "family".
"Ivana's whole "For the Family" thing isn't cutting any ice with her. Nor with most viewers either, I suspect". Yes. I wonder if Ivana might not have left Octavio more to being infatuated with Olmo than keeping their family intact. I am still not convinced as to who killed Alma, but it might well be Ivana.
Everyone loves Faby.
I am also anxious as to how Eddy will bring Fausto down. As Eddy was the only witness to the murder he alone knows the truth.
Right or wrong, I have a soft spot for Gaston. I do not want him with Melida. Gabe seems to be turning over a new, not so likeable leaf so I'm not sure I want Laiza with him. If she survives of course.
Diana
Thanks, Dondi. Super job.
Sancar has certainly earned Nare never forgiving him, but I can't help but like him. I like everything about him, EXCEPT him not believing Nare and his dunceness (STUPID!) in investigating the obvious about Akin. He's a good dad to Melek and a good friend to Gediz, despite the fact he (Sancar) says their friendship is over. Sancar cracked me up when he took the phone from Meneske and told her mom, "Don't come. We don't want any visitors!"
Gediz has his encantos too. Gorgeous, witty, and so sensitive in handling Nare's issues. I'm kind of surprised he's not so good dealing with Muge's trauma. Still, I feel like a ping pong ball between Sancar and Gediz.
Who will save Zehra? I hoped it would be Zehra herself. When Akin suggested they got out to the public terrace since she was nervous to be alone in his apartment, I was hoping she'd keep walking and just leave. But, dang, women have been trained to be polite. Now that she's taken a sip of that wine (ugh!), I hopes it's Muge that gets to save the day.
Halise's revulsion at Kavruk's feelings for Zehra and Meneske's smugness. Can't stand them. But that was some fine wordless acting by those two actresses.
Urban, yes, this has finally picked up. It would be a great ending with Olmo and Fausto perishing together however they might manage it. One is as bad as the other. I always have thought that Ivana could have been responsible for her sister’s death. I would put nothing past her.
Stevey, great to see you here. My deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. After battling Covid, twice, I hope you are finding some respite. Caray is just what the doctor ordered, calming, cheery, and the best recappers and conversations.
Hello my fellow Caray amigos!
I popped in this morning and see Stevey has posted. Welcome back!!! it is so nice to “see” you here, and get your info and take on Diseñando Amor.
First, I hate that you’ve lost your father, and your business, and am glad you survived two variants of COVID. Ugh… bless your heart. And Turkey is back in lockdown right now, if I read the int’l news correctly. Stay healthy!!! ♥♥♥
Is anyone else watching Diseñando Amor? I might give it a try, since I only have this week to get caught up. I think Stevey sold me on it. lol
”Their galans are Juan Diego Covarrubias, proudly cast because he WASN'T gym-body chiselled physique type, but because of "that something else that a true galan has- charm",”
I agree. This is the same actor who was our soggy weepy wheel-chair bound Paolo in Me Declaro Culpable. No more man-bun, no more tears, no wheelchair. Gah! I hardly recognized him in the first episode (the only one I watched so far). And yes, he is hot in his own real-life way. The gym-chiseled bodies don’t exactly do it for me. LOL I like brains and a good heart, thankyouverymuch.
Hi doris, glad to see your post. It's been too long.
SpanProf and a few others are watching Amor.
I agree with you and SpanProf that Juan Diego is almost unrecognizable. I have a new respect for him after watching Vencer. There were some emotional scenes filled with rage in which his face actually turned beet red and his neck muscles bulged. Too realistic. In Amor his expression is totally different and physically he seems better. He wasn't overweight in Vencer but he seems a bit slimmer and less bloated (or perhaps less "puffy" is a better word)...
Diana
SpanProf, yes, Juan Diego Covarrubias has played successfully played both the protagonist and antagonist. I remembered him as a sweet hearted doctor love interest in MMTF and couldn’t believe it was really him playing such a lout in Desamor.
Nett, I too, had hoped that Sancar heard the “I love you, Loki”. It seems he barged into the room at that point and didn’t hear. Oh, well.
Beth, I’d love to know what Turkish shows you have seen and which ones you are watching now. I know they all don’t end badly but I’ve been “burned” several times so I’m always suspicious.
ITA! “Gediz seems like a good catch, but let's face it, even his most lovestruck looks don't hold a candle to Sancar's. Sancar could melt the remaining glaciers!”
I’m a little frustrated by Nare’s attitude regarding Sancar and Melek. She wants Sancar to be a good father, she tells him “their” daughter deserves a normal life and then she gets annoyed when he tries. I guess she thinks he has an ulterior motive. Both Nare and Sancar have trust issues and I can’t really blame them.
Niecie, I can’t hate Sancar, either, and Gediz has a lot going for him. “Still, I feel like a ping pong ball between Sancar and Gediz.”—exactly… for me it’s a classic conflict between the head and the heart.

Merhaba, Stevey, memnun oldum. My condolences on your loss. Covid is awful, geçmiş olsun.
What about Turkish shows? Can you recommend anything that's currently running? Sefirin Kızı is ending in a couple of weeks and I’m looking for a new dizi to watch.
I look forward to reading your posts.

Stevey, how fabulous to hear from you, though it was shocking to hear what a horrible year you’ve had. I so much appreciate all the information you gave us – please do keep it coming! Oh, and do you have a link to the “hilarious queens” blog? I’d love to read what they have to say.
I hope somebody is able to recap this show because I’m lost! I was confused in the first episode about who is who. I’m always confused at the beginning of these things trying to straighten out relationships and who is connected to whom and how. Names? Forget it until a few weeks in. But this time they killed off a bunch of characters right away and now they’re just talking about them. We can’t see them, so I don’t remember who they were. For instance, who is Patricia’s husband? Why wasn’t he part of the memorial service?
At dinner. And she is worst than they are. Her character is in the toilet as far as I'm concerned. And
Menekse, I could slap the stupid outta her. What in the world was san thinking while in the throws of
Orgasmic horror with that bwitch?
They better give gediz somebody that will make him forget about nare cuz I'm tired of lookin at the
Pain On his gorgeous face everytime he Sees her and sancar.
Innocence is admirable but zehra needs to stop being so darn trustin
Just cuz a guy comes toward her with a Limp. That means nothing any body can limp. As mad as muge is she tare akin a new one of she gets to him first. I'd love to see that.
Susanlynn, we have about 18 episodes left (this is finishing up in Mexico at 76 episodes on Monday May 3).
Maggie - Patricia's husband was not part of the service at the ranch because his memorial is going to be held the next day in the city, where his father (Sergio Goyri) lives. Well, Patricia was living there too, but was still very close to her father and brother.
