ACUERDAS Episode 58 Disguise Cannot Cloak Evil’s Guise

Previously: Olmo asks Alberto for an update on Fausto. Alberto, trying to act nonchalant, shrugs and suggests that Olmo give up his search for Fausto. Olmo, an accomplished liar, recognizes what he so easily spews. His smile does not reach his eyes and through clenched teeth, asks what Alberto is not telling him!

Alberto tells Olmo that they can use the money needed for something else. Olmo pulls rank, insisting that he look for Fausto.

Federico’s lawyer meets with Pedro and affirms Federico’s innocence. This case had an unjust verdict and he is certain there is someone powerful behind it. He has something to show Pedro of grave importance. Nearby cameras on the day of Antonia’s murder show a young man loitering in the area, someone who is clearly NOT Federico. Pedro takes in the image and says, no puede ser, it’s Eddy!

Vera and Nico arrive home. Alberto walks up to Vera sneering, saying she is very lucky. He doesn’t know whether to admire her for how far she has gotten or to feel sorry for her when the truth comes out. Vera stares worriedly.

Hearing a knock on her door, Faby assumes it is Ivana and yells for her to go away. Ahhh, it is Alberto. He knows she is going through a great deal and tells her he still feels that she is his daughter. You are my princess, my only child of my heart he tells her with a smile. Faby says te quiero but laments all the secrets. Can he promise that he will never lie to her? She tells him that when Olmo was kidnapped, he arrived home with a bloodstain on his shirt. She asks if he is involved in anything illegal. Alberto tells her he doesn’t remember how he got the stain and vehemently denies any culpability.

Gaston comes home and slumps in a chair. He tells Delia he is preoccupied. He tells her the truth, that Laiza has cancer. I’m so sorry he murmurs as she falls into a chair distraught.

El Chamaco and Ivana flirt. (Side note: Is Ivana standing on a chair? She towers over him, he doesn’t even reach her chin). Ivana asks him how to contact one of his associates. El Chamaco flirts and tells her there is one way that he could give her the contact. He wants her!! Charming.

ACUERDAS Episode 58 Disguise Cannot Cloak Evil’s Guise Part 2

Mélida talks to a client who has decided to go with another company because of a specific clause in the contract. She then sees that Vera signed the contract. Mélida will not let her head be the one to roll and to cover herself, immediately calls Olmo. Upon hearing the news, he is livid and bellows for Vera, opening the den doors as Gaston asks what is wrong. When she arrives, Olmo grabs and shakes her, calling her mentirosa. Gaston tries to intervene but Olmo swats him away like a fly.

Olmo grabs Vera yelling as he asks who she is seeing since she certainly isn’t doing her job!! Who is you lover? He throws her onto the ground and she hits the surface. Hard. Vera’s lip is bleeding and she is noticeably shaken. Olmo says it was an accident and tries to apologize but Vera won’t listen. Delia tells him he should be ashamed of himself! Gaston confronts Olmo asking how he could do that as Olmo snarls for Gaston to leave him alone. Delia helps Vera up the stairs. Gaston reproaches Olmo...it was no accident! Gaston knows he could have fixed things with the Las Vegas project but Olmo didn’t listen. If Olmo dares to put a hand on Vera, he will call the police. Olmo, deadly quiet whispers, asking if Gaston is threatening him. Gaston replies, “no you are the one who threatens.”

Vera doesn’t know what she is doing staying there. Delia thinks Olmo is a stranger; she doesn’t know him anymore. Vera can’t continue to stay there. Delia tries to comfort Vera, telling her tomorrow will be another day.

Pedro has something to tell Vera... he saw the poor devil who is accused of murdering Antonia.

Ivana comes home as Vera peers through the curtain.

Ivana knocks on the den door and Olmo fills her in about the lost Las Vegas account. Ivana tells him that if they want the contact info on Fausto, she will have to sleep with El Chamaco....and she will do it because she is willing to do anything for Olmo. She goes over and kisses him on the lips and leaves.

With pain that only a mother with a gravely ill child could feel, Delia cries that it’s not fair. She can’t understand why Laiza didn’t tell her. Gaston admits that Mélida is the mother of his child, but it is Laiza that he loves. Delia knows he does love Laiza. They hug.

Olmo knocks on the bedroom door as Vera listens to him apologize. His nerves and jealousy overtook him. Only silence follows. Good night he says and walks away.

Vera sees Ivana leave wearing a blood red coat. She shows up at El Chamaco’s opening the coat to reveal some sort of black lace lingerie. Fortunately, we are spared what ensued.

Andres advises Marina that she needs to talk to her father since she keeps thinking about the kiss. Marina is afraid but Andres thinks Olmo should be the one to be afraid of her.

Vera storms into Octavio’s apartment. They need to do something because she can’t continue in that house! Julio is ready to kill Olmo seeing her bleeding lip. Octavio holds him back.

Ivana tells El Chamaco that those who say you shouldn’t mix business with pleasure are wrong. He gives Ivana instructions for the next shipment. Ivana reminds him that they had an agreement, but he informs her has changed the terms. She needs to take care of the shipment and then he will give her Fausto’s contact info.

Octavio calls at this most inopportune time. She brushes him off telling him she is busy. Octavio relates he wants to help with things between her and Faby. Ivana will call him later. When she reads the instructions, she notices that the amount of money is much more and thinks her commission should increase.

Julio asks Vera why she didn’t call him. Vera pleads that they do something. Octavio asks if she has found out anything about El Chamaco. Vera says no, the Las Vegas project looks clean. She saw Ivana leave but doesn’t know where she went or if she slept there. Julio tells Octavio that he will have to find out where Ivana went.

Delia thinks that Laiza doesn’t trust her. Laiza reassures her mother that she just didn’t know how to tell her. Delia cries that ever since Laiza was a baby, she had promised that she would never let her fall...and she will keep that vow.

Olmo is surprised that Ivana is going for the second shipment. He asks her to be careful.

Alberto gives Olmo info on Tadeo, information that might lead them to Fausto. When Olmo tells him that Ivana has gone for a second shipment, Alberto wants to accompany her, but Olmo tells him that El Chamaco only trusts Ivana.

Octavio approaches Ivana on the street and asks after Faby. Ivana blames him for her problems with Faby. When he offers to talk to Faby, Ivana thinks he is just looking for excuses to get close to Faby. He grabs and kisses her as she wipes it from her mouth. After, Ivana makes it clear that there won’t be anything between them. But Octavio was successful as he was able to drop a tracking devise in her bag. He then calls Julio.

Gabe wants to sell the restaurant so that they can get the money for Laiza’s operation, but he needs time to get a good offer. Laiza tells him she has no time!!

Alberto informs Fausto that El Chamaco gave Ivana a large sum of money divided into two trucks, so he celebrates that they will soon have a great fortune. Fausto wants the money, even if Ivana gets burned!

Ivana goes to the “meet” as Octavio watches, snapping pictures. He follows, in hot pursuit.

Julio gets a call from Gaston who wants to sell his shares to Raul Bernal. Gaston must realize what will happen when Olmo finds out so at least this once, he is putting love before family.

Pedro checks out of the hotel, telling the reservationist it was a successful trip.

ACUERDAS Episode 58 Disguise Cannot Cloak Evil’s Guise Part 4

Marina and Olmo have a difficult father/daughter chat. Marina blurts out that she and Pedro are separating and will get a divorce. When Olmo tells her that the Cáceres don’t divorce, Marina tells him that they are people like any other. He says Pedro has an amate, doesn’t he? Who is it? Marina turns the tables and asks how he dare bring up Pedro’s cheating on her when he is the one who has a lover! She saw them with her own eyes. When Marina wonders how long Ivana has been his lover, he assures her they are not lovers, it was a mistake. Marina insists there are no mistakes. Olmo tries to deflect by saying Alma was my grand love, the love of my life. Ivana is nothing (and wouldn’t Ivana have loved to have heard that??). Marina said I’m sorry. I respect your decision, now you need to respect mine. I am divorcing Pedro.

Octavio tells Julio that he already has the arrest warrant. But he doesn’t know how he will tell Faby.

Gaston wants to help Laiza but she does not want Olmo’s money.

In one of the few bright spots, Faby is in her uniform helping Emilia sweep. Faby gets a call from Santi and she assures him all is well – that she is fine and is with her boyfriend. Eddy beams in the background and he and Faby kiss. Emilia (sporting a chic haircut) feels awkward around the young couple, but clearly approves.

As Ivana speeds down the street, Alberto cuts off Ivana’s car. She tells him to leave but as that clearly isn’t part of HIS plan, he gets in the car. Alberto insists that help her. The drop off site has been compromised. He wants to take the shipment, but Ivana insists on going with him.

Olmo knows that Nico didn’t like the pony and wonders if Vera liked the breakfast with the flowers he gifted her. Vera wonders what he will buy her next. Olmo apologizes again he has so. many problems! Vera knows that his problems had nothing to do with it...it was his jealousy. When Olmo tells her that he loves her, Vera retorts that is not the way to show love! She wants her freedom to go out and talk to whoever she wants. Olmo insists that she is his wife, she belongs to him!

Gaston goes to see Laiza and asks how she is doing. He ignores a call because there is nothing more important that her.

Pedro visits Emilia who warmly greets him. I have to speak with Eddy he tells her - it’s important.

Jacinto reports to Fausto, asking what they should do. Fausto assimilates the information without response.

Ivana thinks Alberto turned her into the police. When Alberto pulls the gun on her, she wonders what he is doing! Is he going to kill her? He doesn’t have the cajones!!

Speed, being pursued, the gun, the threat, all of these combustible elements congeal and explode. After swerving to avoid a car, Ivana crashes – Alberto slumped in his seat and Ivana out of view. The horn blares as bills float gracefully in the air from the open trunk.

Good evening everyone.

My perception of Olmo's assault on Vera was that he threw her to the ground. I was furiously typing so if he did hit her, I did not see it. If he did hit her, please correct me.

Pedro being the one to find out Eddy was near Antonia's hotel room was likely the best possible scenario.

When will Laiza get her operation?? Laiza needs to put her principals aside as to where the money might come from. This IS life or death after all.

Wonderful job, Diana, thanks. Great play on “disguise” and “ guise” in the title. .

I saw Olmo throw Vera to the ground but she did have a bloody lip that would have come from being hit in the face. I wasn't watching that closely either. Looks like it is anybody’s guess.

Anyway, we now know that Olmo is also an abuser besides being so disgusting already.

El Chamaco got a double serving of his room service but he isn’t going to be pleased with all of that money being lost: Who is going to pay? I cannot believe Ivana was dumb enough to fall for Alberto’s ruse.

"Double serving of his room service" was great. Yes, El Chamaco will not be pleased and he will now have Alberto on his radar as well as Ivana (whom I am assuming will survive).

Am anxious about Laiza's operation...I wonder how Pedro's chat with Eddy will go???

Embajador #42 part 1

Zehra is sleepy. I shouldn’t have had a second drink, she says. She yawns. She closes her eyes. Akin’s got her right where he wants her. He helps her up and slowly walks her back to his room. Her red jacket drops, unnoticed, just outside the door.

Sancar is speeding to Asortik, so are Gediz and Nare and Muge is still chugging along. Sancar arrives first and sees Kavruk sitting in his car. Karvruk is surprised to see Efe and runs over to him. Kavruk, what are you doing here, Sancar asks? Kavruk tries to find the words…uh, well… Sancar repeats, what are you doing here? Zehra is inside and I’m waiting for her.

Zehra? Sancar is terrified and runs into the courtyard with Kavruk following. Sancar looks around and panics. How will he find his sister? The two men start searching. Luckily, they quickly spot Zehra’s jacket by the door.

Sancar shouts for his sister and busts the door open. Zehra is standing there, disheveled, with a bottle of pepper spray in one hand and the painting in the other. She turns to see Sancar and cries out hysterically, brother! He attacked me and I sprayed him. He ran away! Sancar, shouts, Akin! And takes off. He spots the fleeing Akin and shouts after him. The chase is on.

Meanwhile, Kavruk goes to the traumatized Zehra. He silently sits with her as she sobs. He’s distraught.

As Akin runs out into the street, Muge appears out of nowhere and almost runs him down. She quickly gets out of the car, and tells him Gediz is coming, get in and drive. Akin takes over the wheel and they speed away just in time to escape from Sancar. [full disclosure—I dropped an f-bomb here]

Kavruk helps Zehra leave, and they meet Sancar out front. An ashamed Zehra apologizes to her brother. A relieved and teary Sancar hugs her tight. Everything is fine, he assures her, calm down, it’s over now. Zehra cries in his arms. Still worried, he asks her if she’s ok. I think so, she replies. She asks her brother, why did you yell Akin? Do you know that man, she asks? Sancar does not answer that question. He tells his sister he will take her home. I’m so sorry, brother, she cries, I made a big mistake. He holds her tight again and it looks like he needs this hug just as much as she does. I think Sancar recognizes his big mistake.

Nare and Gediz finally make it to Asortik. [what kept them so long? Muge made it there before they did!] They see Kavruk out front. What are you doing here, Nare asks? Sancar told me to wait here, Kavruk sadly answers, he told me to tell you that Akin ran away. Kavruk looks at Nare and says, he also wanted me to tell you that his doubts are cleared now. He said you’d understand.

Nare’s jaw drops. She gasps and panics. She walks a few steps and says to herself, he knows, he knows. Sancar knows the truth. Gediz asks Kavruk what happened. He barely squeaks out a response, Zehra…. was here. Nare’s eyes widen in shock. Kavruk cries. Gediz puts his hand to his mouth. Nare is devastated. There are no words.

Muge arrives home with Akin. I’ll never forget what you did for me, he says. It’s nothing, she coolly responds. This bastard has the nerve to asks, Muge, can I keep the car? I’ll return it as soon as I rent one. Yes, of course, she says. Thank you, he sighs. Muge stays in the car and stares at him. He asks her to get out because Gediz will be coming soon

Embajador #42 part 2

I’m waiting for my hug, she says, aren’t you going to thank me? I’m sorry, he tells her, I’m a little nervous. He grudgingly obliges her request. Muge is making the most of this hug. She takes out a syringe and stabs Akin in the neck! [You go girl!] He gasps, pulls away and looks at her in complete shock. She tells him, did you really think that I was going save you, you bastard? The drug immediately starts to take effect. Akin is gasping as he falls out of the car. He staggers away but doesn’t get very far. Muge watches as he falls to the ground. He’s out cold.

She calmly gets out of the car and stands over him. She grabs hold of his ankles and slowly drags him.

Sancar is slumped against the door of the shack. The realization of what happened to Nare and what he did to her has shattered him. Headlights shine on him as a car pulls up. It’s Nare. She knew she’d find him there. She gets out of the car and walks a few steps towards him. They’re both in tears. He calls her name….Nare... she gasps and they both explode into sobs.

Nare takes a few more step towards Sancar. No words, just the tears. He gets up to meet her and says, you walked… he looks up at the mountain…up there? Nare thinks back to her walk. She hesitates with an answer. Answer me, he says. Sancar, don’t…. she says. Did you jump, he asks? When you fell, it hurt a lot, right?

She tries to shake that memory out of her mind. Tears continue. Sancar goes back to sit at the door. Nare goes to sit next to him. She puts her hand on the back of his head and pulls him into her arms. She cradles him as they both sob. All the doubt, the lies, the pain and suffering of the last 9 years wash out with their tears.

Menekse bangs on her mother’s door. She’s got Sancar’s shirt with Nare’ handprint. Necdet is ticked. He wants to know what she’s doing here at this hour. They start to argue about Loki and about Menekse telling him she was forced into marriage by her brother. Atike is alarmed, she wants to know what’s going on.

Menekse shows them the shirt. Look what that woman did, she says, she did it to make me mad. She tried to send me a message, “I sleep with him and you are only good enough to wash his clothes”.

Atike comments that not even the devil would do something like this. She wonders if this woman is doing witchcraft. Atike is horrified and wants to burn the shirt but Menekse wants to be the one to do it. She asks for Necdet’s help but he wants no part of this. He thinks they are crazy. Before tossing the shirt, Menekse vows, you will take your hands off my husband and I will erase your mark. I won’t allow you near him. The shirt burns in the stove.

Things are a lot calmer at the shack. Nare and Sancar sit in silence by the door and she’s still holding on to him. She’s slowly falling asleep. He sits up and looks at her. She’s crying in her sleep. He wants to touch her face, maybe dry her tears, but he stops. He picks her up and carries her into the shack. No..no…not the bed. He gently places her on the mattress on the floor. He carefully slips off her boots and covers her with a blanket. Then Sancar sits against the door and watches his beloved through his teary eyes.

Menekse leaves her mom’s house in the early morning. She wants Necdet to find Nare’s address. Akite is worried, what is her daughter planning to do? They don’t need more problems. Menekse answers, I need to find the woman’s weakness and show it to Sancar. Maybe there is something in her past. Necdet tells his sister, yeah, just like your Loki, right? Be careful while you look, he says, so that Sancar doesn’t discover yours. Necdet makes the sign of horns with his fingers. Menekse denies ever having cheated on Sancar.

She thinks back to her talk with Gediz when he came to bring her back to the mansion. Gediz told Menekse there was no relationship between Nare and Sancar, that they only care about their daughter and don’t even realize that we (himself and Menekse) exist.

Ah, ha….Menekse thinks she’s on to something with Nare and Gediz. She’s not sure of it but they can make it look like there is something. Necdet is not quite following her. Menekse asks him, how many bracelets do you need to go looking for Gediz?

Gediz comes home and hears voices. He goes into the kitchen and sees Refika and Muge happily preparing breakfast. Muge is definitely in a much better mood. He teases his sister and asks, you’re not depressed anymore? Muge cheerfully responds that’s right. Suddenly this morning, Gediz asks? Refika asks Gediz to leave his sister alone. Muge says it’s okay. She knows Gediz is just kidding around with her. Gediz says that there’s something he needs to talk to her about. Can we go outside, he asks? Sure, Muge was thinking about having breakfast in the garden anyway. She will make tea for him.

Muge carries the tray outside so they talk. She asks her brother, were you up all night? Nare again? Gediz sighs and gets right to the point, did you meet with Akin? She laughs, why do you ask? I’m curious, he replies, you look so happy and full of energy. What happened?

So you want me to die of sadness, she answers. Can’t I forget Akin and get on with my life? Gediz isn’t buying it. I’m your brother and it took me nine years to find out what you were doing. I know you. You listen to a song you like for six months straight. How can you just forget Akin?

I decided it was time, Muge says, can’t I do this? Gediz persists, you helped hm escape last night, right? Muge acts surprised, what are you talking about? Akin is back? You found him? Gediz moves in close and asks again, did you save Akin?

Brother, I swear on my life that I didn’t save him [technically correct, she’s got other plans]. She decides to have a swim and then maybe he can join her later for breakfast. Gediz says that won’t happen. Muge walks away with her tray, leaving Gediz to think if he should believe her.

Muge makes sure Gediz has left and no one else is around. She goes down to the pool house. She enters the bathroom and that’s where she’s stashed the bastard. He’s bound and gagged. Looks like she’s done a good job of it, too. Hello my love, she greets him, did you sleep well? Akin grunts.

She starts, I talked to Gediz and he asked me if I saved you last night. Know what? I told him no, I even swore to it. Akin grunts again. I lied but I don’t feel bad because I didn’t save you. I made the person I love most in this world very unhappy.

Flashback to her last convo with her Gediz, when spoke about his disillusionment.

Muge continues, I’d do anything for my brother. But as much as I’d like to, I won’t kill you. I’m a psychologist and I don’t even know you. I was stupid but I know if I kill you, I couldn’t deal with the trauma. So I will tell Gediz that I will try to forget you. I’ll forget you here. Akin grunts and starts to struggle.

Embajador #42 part 4

Nobody comes to this house before summertime, Muge says. I’ll forget you so well that I won’t remember to feed you and I won’t remember to bring you water. I won’t remember you are locked up in here. Do you understand what will happen to you? I’ll forget about you just like you forgot about me. Akin grunts and struggles harder. She laughs, you’ll see. She gets up to go and turns back, do you wish Sancar would have caught you she asks? With that, she closes the door on him. Akin continues to struggle in vain. [I’m very impressed with Muge]

Sancar is still sitting at the door when Nare wakes with a start. Sancar, Sancar, don’t do it she bolts upright and sees him. You’re here… Yes. She’s relieved. I thought you had gone out to find Akin for what…. happened to me, she says. It’s difficult for Sancar to look at her. He tells her Akin escaped. He asks, didn’t Kavruk tell you? Yes, he did.

Nare asks if Zehra is okay. She is, Sancar says. But he confesses he did something without consulting her. He says, last night Zehra cried as if she was guilty so… Did you tell her, Nare asks? Not everything, Sancar replies, I told her that he (Akin) was obsessed and that he wanted to hurt us and that Muge knows this, too. You did the right thing, she tells the very guilty and ashamed Sancar.

He gets up and grabs her boots. Last night, he says, when we were outside…. (brief flash to them sobbing)….you fell asleep, and I took off your boots so you could rest. She puts her boot on and asks him, you won’t go after Akin anymore? Sancar turns and takes a few steps away from her. No answer. He’s still trying to process everything. Nare goes to him and says Zehra can go to the police and report him. Sancar looks at his watch and says, it’s past seven and Melek will wake up soon.

They leave the cabin. Nare walks ahead of Sancar. He stops and calls out to her, you’re not going to forgive me, are you? Nare stops in her tracks.

And we are out.

AMOR. We'd better learn pretty soon that Claudio and Valentina are not related to each other biologically or else this romance is going nowhere! Also, Claudio's father seems more miserly than poor. As we saw when he and Claudio were out collecting rents, he seems to own a lot of real estate. Also, I'm glad Claudio was able to convince him to allow Valentina and Nora to stay with them for a while. As I said before, this novela seems to be getting easier to follow.

Dondi...what an episode. Was so annoyed when Muge appeared and saved Akin but pleasantly surprised when she jabbed him with that syringe. Was not expecting that. She turns out not to be the jealous...needy...take anything person I thought she was shaping up to be.

And you go Zehra...she wasn't so sleepy that she didn't realize what Akin was up to and couldn't protect herself. But didn't see him trying to attack her coming. Thought he was getting cozy so he could use her for info. But if this is what it took to open Sancar's eyes...so be it. I thought he was going to get his hands on the tape. That's the real evidence he needs.

Hope Muge doesn't get weak and release Akin...or he gets loose some how. Will enjoy seeing him squirm and waste away....though not as fun as it would have been to see Sancar or Gediz beat him down. Maybe that's still in his future since I know there's more show ahead of us.

Poor Karuk... hope he gets the courage to express himself to Zehra. He shouldn't feel guilty ...he didn't know she was seeing Akin...but he needs to let her know how he feels. He's still got to get past Halise.

And speaking of Nora, she is a real !itch. Her face always looks like she just smelled or stepped in something unpleasant. If I stay with this, I'm already hoping for an anvil for her.
 

AMOR. Or Claudio could be adopted. And, yes, I have a feeling Nora will get hers by the time this novela is over. Patricia as well, as she seems to be the bad guy (bad person?) so far in all this. Btw, a few people in this tn seem to be the result of infidelity on the mother's part. Makes one wonder about the so-called traditional morality in that rural area.

Thx Dondi...you always deliver...as does this show. I've watched several turkish TNs now and this one is for sure among the best. The acting, story line....all good...so far anyway.

And yeah...it was me...that wants Akin to be used as a human pinata. He deserves it...and much worse. But now that he's been neutralized...looks like Meneske is about to stir up trouble. She is a sly one because no one expects much of her.

Those gold bangles must be really valuable. I know that in their culture, the gift of jewelry serves multiple purposes...but sure wish I could trade in my jewelry for something good cold cash. I've had several friends to sell jewelry and they got offered peanuts. ...even with receipts proving cost and quality.

Previously (from Diana): After swerving to avoid a car, Ivana crashes – Alberto slumped in his seat and Ivana out of view. The horn blares as bills float gracefully in the air from the open trunk…

One of the minions goes to the SUV and tells Ivana to run. A shootout ensues! Jass runs to the second SUV and takes off. After the cops finally overtake the baddies, Oct runs up to the crashed SUV, takes Alberto out and reads him his rights.

Jass arrives with the SUV with the second load of money. He takes a picture and sends it to Fausto.

Ivana walks down the street and calls Olmo. She tells him that there were problems. The cops overtook them and she wrecked the SUV. When she mentions Alberto, Olmo wonders what he was doing there. She doesn’t know but Alberto told her that the drop was compromised. Olmo tells her that she needs to go to the hotel Monarca. She is to get rid of her purse, her phone, and anything else she is carrying since they can’t be sure how they found her.

Jass calls Fausto who tells him to guard the SUV with his life. Fausto then gives Jass specific instructions as to what to do with the money. Jass looks for assurance that he pleased his daddy, so Fausto tells him that he did good and is very proud of him.

Octavio looks around and finds Ivana’s phone and purse…but no signs of he owner.

Pedro shows Eddy the picture and tells him that it was taken the moment Vera’s mother was killed. Emi comes in so Eddy quickly scoots her away. Eddy swears that he had nothing to do with the woman’s death.

Vera calls Julio and hopes that the plan worked. Julio assures her that it did, but not like that they expected…Octavio and his team were able to get one of the SUVs and Alberto and a bodyguard were arrested. There was no sign of Ivana. Vera fears that Alberto is very loyal to Olmo and will not talk.

Pedro doesn’t think that Eddy did anything wrong, but thinks he is hiding something. Eddy denies knowing anything and asks Pedro to leave.

Ivana arrives at the hotel. Olmo is glad she is okay and wonders how the cops found her. Ivana doesn’t know. All she knows is that Alberto showed up. After they discuss several scenarios, Olmo tells Ivana that they cannot contact El Chamaco because he might react violently.

Pedro tells Vera about Alberto being arrested because he was found with a lot of money. When he asks about Olmo and Vera tells him he is not there, Pedro thinks that Olmo and Ivana are probably doing some damage control. When Vera asks what he found out in Huatulco, Pero apologizes for not believing her; he believes that the young man is prison was not guilty.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 59: Biting the Bullet Part 2

Alberto’s arrest is all over the news. Olmo remarks that everything went kaput! He wonders where Gaston is…he should be handling the press. Ivana tries to calm him down. Olmo is frantic; he never thought that they would get to a point where they could lose everything. They need to contact attorneys so that they can get some advice.

Vera admits that she knew about the sting….Octavio has been investigating the company for money laundering. Vera thought that if this came to light, Olmo could be seen as the criminal he is. Just then Delia and Faby run in and are in a panic. Faby asks why they arrested her father!

Octavio tries to question Alberto but Alberto wants his one phone call.

Faby tries to call Ivana but she doesn’t answer. Her phone rings and it’s Alberto who tells her that he only had one phone call and he wanted to call her because she is the most important person to him. He tells her not to listen to what anyone tells her about him, especially not Olmo and her mother. If anyone knows him it is Faby. Faby agrees that he is her father, the one who has loved and cared for her without asking anything from her. Alberto then tells her that whatever happens, the most important thing is the love they have for each other.

Gas shows Marina the news report. When Marina thinks that her father knew nothing about it, Gas wonders if she is really that naïve. He is fed up with Olmo’s theatrics—he and Ivana are nowhere to be found, Alberto is laundering money, Olmo made her marry Pedro and they are forcing him to be a father. The situation with Melida was planned only so that Olmo can have an heir!

Octavio advises Alberto to talk…he should do it for Faby. If he turn in Olmo and Ivana, they could go easy on him. It is his last opportunity. Alberto doesn’t believe him, so Octavio swears that if he cooperated he will get out of prison sooner.

Nico gas a nightmare so Vera and Pedro go calm him down. Nico wants his papa to stay with him.

Gas asks Julio if Raul will buy his shares—he needs the money for Laiza’s operation, Julio advises that this is not a good time but Gas insists that he has no time to lose.

Silvio brings Olmo and Ivana some luggage with a change of clothes.. He brings them up to date—Alberto has not sung and EL Chamaco hasn’t declared any wars against them.

Pedro has breakfast with Vera and Nico. Vera worries that Olmo will find Pedro there, so Pedro agrees to leave and take Nico to school. After Nico leaves, Pedro gives his gypsy a kiss. ( and doesn’t bother to look around and make sure no one is watching).

Olmo assures Ivana that she is safe. She is the only one whom he trusts and she is the most loyal to him. Ivana tells him that if he falls, she will fall with him because she will not leave him alone. She will do anything he says. Olmo tells her that they will have to be very united….and do something very hurtful (when has he cared??)—blame Alberto for everything to save their skins.

Delia tells Vera that what is happening is surreal. Delia knows she is needed at the house but she needs to go see Laiza. As she starts to leave, Ivana and Olmo enter feigning innocence. Vere feigns concern and asks how Olmo is. Olmo tells her that they spent the night trying to see Alberto then they went to the company . Ivana reminds Olmo that Melida is waiting for them in his study.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 59: Biting the Bullet Part 3

In the study, Olmo tells Melida that they need to come up with documentation showing that they have been trying to liberate themselves from Alberto for some time. Melida advises that Alberto’s resignation would need his signature and wonders if he is insinuating that they forge Alberto’s signature. Olmo tells her it won’t be necessary and gives her several blank sheets with Alberto’s signature. When Melida remarks that it is illegal, Ivana asks if she would prefer to go against the family…Ivana asks if Melida wants her baby to be born in a crib with satin sheets or in prison.
Faby asks Ivana about Alberto being arrested. Ivana tells Fay that Alberto was dealing in dirty business; she had suspected it for some time and that is why she left him. She and Olmo are doing everything they can to help Alberto, but if they can’t it is all Alberto’s fault and a consequence of his actions. Faby cries that her father told her she would say that…everyone in that house is a traitor!!

Melida goes to visit Alberto as per Olmo’s request. She lists all the charges and there is not much they can do for him. When Alberto asks if they are going to abandon him, Melida assures him that they are not, but someone has to bite the bullet!

Julio goes to see Gas and tells him that there is someone interested in buying his shares….Vera!!

Alberto refuses to go to prison, but Melida forges on and gives him the document where Alberto will declare that he is solely responsible for everything. If he blames someone else, he won’t have Olmo’s support…and he doesn’t want Olmo as an enemy.

Vera explains that she wants to buy the shares to help Laiza, but if Gas doesn’t want to sell the shares to her, she is still willing to lend him the money. Gas agrees to sell his shares but wants to keep just enough so that he won’t lose his place on the Council.

Octavio returns to question Alberto. When Octavio shows Alberto the video where Olmo presents Alberto’s resignation and announces that Alberto was laundering money behind his back, Alberto doesn’t budge, but when Octavio plays the message from Faby asking him to help her father, Alberto asks to talk to Faby. Octavio will only allow Alberto to talk to her if he talks; so Alberto agrees to tell him all he knows about Olmo and his associate, El Chamaco.

Pedro goes to see Olmo. who is cleaning his rifle. Pedro reproaches him for what he is doing to Alberto. When he mentions the young kid who Olmo had put in prison, Olmo justifies that the kid was a mafiaso and needed to be off the streets. Olmo then wonders why Pedro is so interested in Antonia’s death, Olmo asks Pedro if he is sleeping with Vera; he tells Pedro that he is playing with fire and Olmo will not allow it. As he cocks the rifle, Olmo assures Pedro that he will do anything to make sure that Vera remains at his side. When Pedro remarks that Olmo is insecure because he is afraid Vera will find out who he really is and run out on him, Olmo quickly turns and points the rifle at Pedro telling him that Vera is his ..and she will do as he says! Pedro tells him to leave Vera out of it. After Pedro stresses that he put a young kid in prison and his closest associate is being accused of money laundering, Olmo retorts that Alberto betrayed him and he pressured on the attorney general to make an arrest to calm his wife. Vera overhears as she enters and asks why he wanted to calm her. She then asks him to put the rifle down as does Pedro.

Alberto knows that his life is at risk and that there is already a price on his head. Octavio assures Alberto that he will do everything to protect him and his family.

Olmo ask Pedro and Vera if they are lovers. Vera wonders if he will shoot them if they deny it. When she adds that he already laid a hand on her, Pedro asks, “What? You hit her?!’ Pedro doesn’t wait for an answer and punches Olmo hard knocking him to the floor! Vera runs to help him up but Olmo shouts, “Let go of me!”

Alberto tells Octavio that he is doing this for Faby…and to bring down Olmo, Ivana and El Chamaco. He has been keeping detailed documentation on the money laundering for 15 years.

Vera again tries to help Olm but he yells at her. When Pedro again reproaches him for hitting Vera, Olmo tells him that he is no one to be reproaching him…he isn’t even his son…he is an ungrateful bastard!! When Olmo wonders how Pedro dared to steal his wife, Pedro denies it; and when Vera adds that she is not his property, Olm tells them to get out!!

Gabriel is still trying to get a good price for his restaurant. Laiza tells him that he doesn’t have to sell; Lola is helping her with the car and they can ask for loans…they will find the money. Just then, Gas enters and tells her that the appointment is set for her operation. When Laiza insists that she doesn’t want Olmo’s money Gas tells her that he is paying for it,

Pedro refuses to leave if Olmo continues to mistreat Vera. Olmo makes it clear that Vera is his and runs off Pedro…from his house and his family…Olmo never wants to see him again! Vera asks Pedro to leave and assures him that she will be alright.

After Pedro leaves, Vera goes after him and ask Pedro if he is okay. Pedro is glad that he is out of that house, but is distraught that that Vera is going to stay. He asks how she could marry such a monster…and pleads that she get Nico and go away with him; they can be happy. After he asks what she is planning and reminds her that Olmo’s type always wins, Vera agrees to leave Olmo, but not today because Olmo will follow them and kill them. She will leave the next day.

Ivana is with Olmo who swears that he is going to kill Pedro and Vera if he sees them together. When Ivana sees that the rifle is loaded, Ivana blames everything on Vera who has never acted like a his wife…she has only brought him problems. She insists that Olmo needs a woman who is an ally and whom he can trust. Olm snarls that Vera will stay with him whether she likes it or not! Olmo then thinks of Alberto…if he talks they are finished. Ivana knows who they can contact to send Alberto a message.

Octavio and Julio meet. After Octavio tells him that Alberto is willing to talk, Julio thinks they need to ask someone else for help. Just then, Teo and Gonzo arrive. Teo continues to look through the files and Gonzo is confident that they will have enough evidence to get Olmo and Ivana.

Ivana calls El Chamaco who is surprised that she has the “ovaries” to be asking for a favor after all the money they now owe him. Ivana assures him that they will pay him back…they just need his help to keep things quiet…EL Chamaco needs to put a muzzle on the canary.

Vera talks to a sleeping Nico and assures him that they will leave that house the next day. Olmo enters demanding that she go to bed with her husband. When she refuses and reminds him that he pointed a rifle at her and at his son, Olmo refuses to acknowledge Pedro as his son…he stole his wife! Vera can deny it as many times as she wants…Pedro is her lover; Olmo can see it in his face!

Alberto bangs on the door asking for his attorney and some water. The guard sits him down and plays a video from El Chamaco who hopes that his friend won’t point any fingers at him or anyone else...or he (Chamaco) will have to go looking for Faby at her school!

Highlight of the episode: Pedro punching old Olmo. That was wonderful! Pedro actually did something in a timely manner and didn't hem and haw about it indefinitely.

Lowlight of the episode: Vera needing to wait until tomorrow to leave. Why ????? No sense of urgency? Does she have a problem with her short term memory? Does she not remember Olmo with his gun?

LOL: In between light: Alberto taking too long to give up the info against the Cáceres crime family to the police only to be confronted now with a threat leveled against Fabi if he does.

There were several powerful moments. Among them, Jacinto’s family ready to implode. Eddy’s terrified reaction to Pedro’s questions, “Jass looks for assurance that he pleased his daddy” and Emilia’s complete ignorance that her family is going to fall.

Alberto is scum but he does love Faby. The fact that she and Eddy are still functioning at this point is remarkable in and of itself.

Olmo’s rapid mental deterioration, calling Pedro “an ungrateful bastard” and running him off; waving his gun around, threatening wild eyed and steadfast determination to hold onto Vera.

I have to give Ivana credit for having the icy strength to call El Chamaco. She has nerves of steel and a non-functional heart.

Jarifa, Vera has procrastinated far too long – I totally agree. She should have taken Nico and flown.

At least Gaston has the money to pay for Laiza’s surgery. Hopefully, that will happen soon.

I guess Laiza's illness was a way to get Gas to sell his shares to Raul ( Fausto) , but now Vera will buy them .What will that do to the plot? I am confused.

Ivana has a stone cold heart ...throwing Alberto under the bus. Her obsession with Olmo has made her do anything to please him. I wonder if tbey were ever intimate in tbe past after Alma died or if she has been lusting after his evil self all these years. She has been willing to sleep with anyone to get what she wants ....Alberto, Octavio, Chamaco . Did she snd Olmo finally sleep together? I thought Olmo wasnt able to perform with Vera. Did Ivana's evil mojo do tbe trick for him ?

I’m a little confused about Ivana’s call to Chamaco. I understood that she was asking him to have Alberto killed. Looks like Chamaco is threatening Alberto with harming Faby if Alberto talks. Is that what evil Ivana had in mind?
Also, wasn’t clear to me that Pedro and Vera adamantly denied their affair to Olmo.
Also confused as to whether Olmo and Ivana did the deed when they spent the night in the hotel together.

I guess Ivana did not count on Chamaco threatening her daughter's life when she asked him to convince Alberto not to talk. Ivana deserves a huge anvil for all her wickedness. Marisol has become a convincing villain . I no longer see the sweet character she played in Pasion . She is ride or die with Oldmo ...so i suppose the ride will end and they will die together.
 

AMOR. As long as the parental relationships aren't quite as hard to swallow as the "adoption" (really baby theft) in Vencer el Desamor. There also seems to be something a little odd about Mina's parentage, which she seems to sense. Hmm. Kind of rotten how the airline got Valentina to sign away her right to sue. But couldn't Nora sue instead? Good thing that Claudio seems to be a pretty good lawyer.

I think we all agree that Ivana is heartless and has a fatal obsession with Olmo--even willing to go down if he goes down just so he won't be alone. They can go both to the deepest and hottest end of hell!

Jarifa, Pedro pleasantly surprised us, didn't he? I was hoping for a kick (or two) while Olmo was down. I could not believe that Vera ran to Olmo to try to help him...was that part of her act??

Diana, "Alberto is scum but he does love Faby." If there is any sliver of hope for redemption for Alberto, I would be okay with it just because of his love and dedication for Faby...at least he has proven that he has a heart.

Susanlynn, regarding Olmo's comment about pressuring the DA and calming his wife: When Antonia was killed, Olmo pressured the DA to find a "murderer" just to appease Vera. I'm not sure if he was the one to directly contact the DA or if he had Alberto do it...but my guess is that he made the calls himself.

The idea of Gaston selling his shares came of Gaston's own accord; he was desperate to sell his shares to get the money for Laiza's operation. I am not sure what Vera's plan was when she offered to buy them. Since Fausto had suggested that she get shares from Olmo so that together they could overtake the company, maybe that was what she had in mind. OTOH maybe she just wants to help Laiza since she sees how distraught Delia is; it was impressive that she offered to lend Gas the money even if he didn't want to sell her the shares.

That I know of, Ivana and Olmo have not slept together...or rather, they haven't been shown together in bed. I would think that if they did sleep together, it would have been the night of the accident when they spent the night at the hotel.

Fe, Ivana's intent when she called El Chamaco was to ask him to make sure Alberto keeps quiet. She did not specifically ask him to kill Alberto.

In regards to Olmo's question to Pedro and Vera about having an affair, neither Pedro nor Vera denied it outright. Vera simply asked Olmo what he would do if they did deny it, wondering if he would shoot them anyway. Pedro remained quiet until later when he rebuffed Olmo's accusation that he (Pedro) stole his wife.

Olmo and Ivana were kissing so passionately at the hotel that it made me wonder....
I did hear an expression in Spanish like a uiet the bird when Ivana was talking with Chamaco about Alberto, which I thought meant, kill him. I should have looked up the expression. Now I can’t remember it.
Pedro’s and Vera’s denial of their love was a bit vague, not really an adamant rejection.

Outside the shack, Sancar asks Nare, you're not going to forgive me, are you? She answers, I can't. Why can't you, Nare? Because ... she can’t finish that sentence. No matter because it’s clear to Sancar why she can’t forgive him.

Nare walks back to him and asks, you’re going to find Akin, and then? Sancar looks down and does not answer. Look me in the eyes, Sancar, she says, look at me, please. He won’t look at her. Don't force me, he says. She takes his face in her hands and lifts it, look at me, Sancar. Nare insists, you will look into my eyes and tell me the truth. What will happen after you find Akin? She knows but she asks anyway—you’re not going to the police, right? Is it his life or yours, Sancar? Sancar tearfully says, but we must punish him, right?

Sancar walks over to the tree and runs his hand over the carving. He sits against the tree. Nare joins him. She says, do you remember the man who kicked me out of this place years ago? Flashback to him throwing her out of the shack.

She asks again, do you remember that man? Sancar sighs and nods yes. You are no different from him, Nare says. He looks at her—no, I believe you now, Nare. Yes, you finally did, she says, but you haven’t changed. You’re still the same man that punished me years ago because he didn’t believe. Now you will be punished because you finally believed. She cries.

Please, don't cry, Sancar asks. She raises her voice, please understand me. I don’t want you to die. I just want you to change your mind. Sancar has trouble with this. He says, you were punished for something you didn't do, so don’t I deserve a punishment for what I did?

Does it matter now, she asks? Understand that you lost me forever, she tells him. He knows and he cries. Nare tells him, if you hadn't lost me, I would have loved you all my life and the legend would have been fulfilled. You got what you deserve. Sancar cries harder.

Nare talks about baby Melek… she had such small hands and beautiful blue eyes. When I fed her, she held my breast ...with her small hands and looked at me with her blue eyes.

Nare tells Sancar, forget the legend, forget love, and forget me. You missed the angelic gaze of our little girl. You missed the chance of a life with us. Don’t you think that is punishment enough? They both cry. Nare continues, I’m not looking for revenge. All I wanted was a happy life by your side with our daughter. Don’t darken Melek’s life. Nare gets up, gets in her car, and drives off. I can give you what you ask me, Sancar says after she’s gone, you're going to have a life without me.

Menekse returns to the mansion by taxi. She sneaks back in. She’s got her boots off and is taking off her coat when she is caught by Yahya. Menekse? Where did you come from? It's very early. No, she says, I’m not arriving, I'm leaving. Where are you going? Menekse thinks fast, my husband has not come back to the mansion and his cell phone isn’t working. I was going to look for him. Yahya tells her not to go. Have breakfast first. Let's go. Eat, then you can leave.

They go down to the breakfast table. Yahya asks Gulsiye if Halise is up yet. Yes. Then Yahya asks Gulsiye to make menemen for her [scrambled eggs with tomatoes and peppers, yum!]. She loves to eat it with bread, Yahya says. Gulsiye pulls an attitude and won’t accommodate, she mentions Elvan prepared that dish and it was quite delicious. Besides, Halise should not eat bread.

Yahya wishes Gulsiye would choke on bread and who the hell cares about Elvan. Menekse volunteers to make the menemen for her BIL, and she heads off to cook. There’s an aroma of animosity in the kitchen as Menekse and Gulsiye prepare the meal. Menekse gets a text and Gulsiye strains to look.

Gediz rings the bell at Nare’s house. Elvan answers. Nare’s not home but she’s on her way, she says with worry, I don’t know where she is or where she spent the night. I don’t understand what is happening. Gediz gets snippy, don’t understand, Elvan, there is nothing to understand. Wow, someone woke up in a bad mood, she says. Gediz catches himself and apologizes. He hasn’t had his morning coffee. Are you going to make coffee, he asks, can I come in? Elvan laughs and invites him in.

Necdet is on stakeout outside of Nare’s and takes a pic of Elvan and Gediz. He sends this to Menekse, too: "It’s not Nare and Gediz, but I caught him with Elvan". Menekse texts back: "Idiot. Elvan lives in that damn woman’s house, it’s Nare’s house. Try to take their pictures. " Gulsiye is very suspicious of Menekse.

Halise is at the breakfast table. Menekse asks why she got up. She was going to bring breakfast to her. Halise needed to get up her back hurt from lying down for so long on the couch [ha, ha waiting for the visitors who never came!]

Zehra comes downstairs and Halise comments, you finally came out, girl? Zehra walks over to the table. You decided to see us face to face, Halise snarks. Zehra gives her mother a very cool, good morning. Then she asks Gulsiye for Kavruk. He’s at the stable. Zehra turns to go.

Halise and Menekse look at each other. Halise is not pleased. She calls to Zehra, why are you looking for him? For the car keys. Halise says that’s not necessary. If you’re going to work, Nedim can take you. Zehra smiles and walks back to the table. Maybe I won't go to work. I'm thinking of visiting Elvan at Nare's house, she tells her mom. Ha, nice move Zehra. Dissing mom and killing two birds, Menekse and Yahya, with one stone. Gulsiye is amused. Do you think he can take me there, Zehra asks? Halise grumbles… and it’s just what Zehra thought. Now she will be on her way to visit Elvan and Nare and have a nice long chat. Enjoy your breakfast, Gulsiye, Zehra says and leaves.

Halise takes a big breath to calm herself. Menekse starts, you should also go, suegra. My SIL is also in that damn house, and my husband, too. You should go, suegra. Halise groans. Gulsiye pipes up, yes, can I go, too? It’s very boring without Elvan here. And have you noticed, no one visits us? Better we close the mansion. Halise looks daggers at Gulsiye. Yahya complains he can't even have breakfast so he’s leaving. And keep this woman (Gulsiye) quiet until I return. Gulsiye gets up from the table and Halise threatens to cut out her tongue. She adds, your way of speaking makes me miss Elvan. She orders Gulsiye to get Kavruk.

Zehra walks up to stable and Kavruk is happy to see her. They exchange good mornings. Zehra starts, Kavruk, I ... came because I wanted to ask you… tears start falling….the car keys. She starts crying harder. Zehra, did Sancar get upset with you, he asks? Tell me. She can’t stop crying, she shakes her head no. You can trust me, Kavruk says. No, Sancar didn't bother me, but I wish that he did.

She’s asking for the car keys just like she asked when she met with that idiot. Now every time I ask, she says, I feel like a fool. That’s what I am. Kavruk says she is not a fool. Nothing happened. There is no reason to cry.

Zehra wonders how she could be so naïve to be fooled by that man. Wise Kavruk says, you are not naïve. Listen to me, it is easy to deceive those who do not know evil. It was impossible for you to know because there is no evil in you. Zehra has something to confess. I thought I met the right man, she tells him. She doesn’t know she’s breaking his heart. Kavruk gives her the keys and she leaves for the olive grove.

Kavruk starts talking to the horse. Yes, I know. She wants the perfect man. Who am I to feel sad? The horse responds with a grunt. Kavruk grunts back and continues, in the end, he wasn’t who she believed him to be but I'm not worth it either. She wants someone else; she will never love me. Gulsiye walks up on him and clears her throat. If you finished talking to the horse, Mrs. Halise is looking for you.

Halise is lying in wait for Kavruk. He enters the house, were you calling for me, Mrs. Halise? Halise grunts, then speaks, you have a home here, Kavruk. We welcomed you, right? Kavruk nods. Mmm.. and… I entrusted my daughter to you. The most precious thing that I have, right? He lowers his head. She continues, and you ... you don't know your place. You fell in love with someone from the mansion where you work as a servant. Isn't that true, Kavruk? He keeps his head down and doesn’t answer. Aren’t you ashamed? No dignity?

This witch is not going to stop until she’s destroyed him. Cada oveja con su pareja, she tells him. Isn't that what they say, Kavruk? Kavruk finds his voice. Yes, it’s true, he says, when they are in love. Although this is not the case, you should know. I could never hurt Zehra, he says, and I can't control how I feel about her, but I know my place. I will take my love for her to the grave.

Halise suggests they mention this to Sancar. Kavruk panics, no, please don't mention it. Why not? Are you afraid? Kavruk says that Sancar already has a lot of problems. He begs Halise not to mention it. Halise continues to torture poor Kavruk, she gets in his face. I'll tell him as soon as he comes to the mansion, she hisses. Kavruk pleads, I'll do whatever you ask, please don't tell him. Halise raises her voice, want you to leave my house. Go! Kavruk leaves and Halise looks so proud of what she has done. She shows off to Menekse, too. This woman is an abomination.

Nare pulls up to her house and sits in the car and cries. Necdet is still on stakeout. He snaps a pic of Nare crying and sends it to Menekse. Menekse steps away from Halise to take the message: "the mistress has just arrived. She hasn't gotten out of the car yet. She’s crying. Is it because of your husband? Maybe they had big fight in the hotel." Menekse texts back: "I'm going to take you to Loki so you can have a big fight with him. Take a picture of that damn woman with Gediz. "

Elvan is cooking and explaining to Melek. It's easy, today I'm going to make menemen. I’ll add ingredients randomly and everyone can enjoy it. Melek tries to pronounce “menemen” and has trouble. Elvan says it’s like English, “men”. Gediz is amused, you speak English? Of course, Elvan says, we live in a tourist area, remember? We have hotels and there are signs on the bathrooms—"men" "women", okay? Gediz laughs and looks at his watch, wondering where Nare is.

Melek asks about the “men” in menemen. Aunt Elvan is going to prepare a menemen so exquisite that all men will want to eat it, she tells Melek. For example, if Yahya Efeoglu was a man, he could eat this menemen. But since he is not a man, we will not give him any. He can eat dirt for breakfast. Gediz laughs again.

Gediz goes to sit on the counter and Elvan sharply reprimands him, what are you doing? People eat there! Gediz says calm down. Melek is sitting, how can she do it? Elvan says because she is still small, and you are an adult. Gediz says it’s discrimination. Melek is trying not to laugh. Gediz looks at his watch again.

Nare is still in her car, crying. She looks in the mirror and wipes her tears away. She gets out of the car and heads to the house. How Necdet manages to hide his chubby frame behind this stick of a tree, is beyond me, but he remains unnoticed.

Embajador #43 part 4

Nare enters the house and Melek greets her. Mom, I missed you. Gediz told me you went somewhere with dad. Where did you go? Is he coming? Uh ... no, your dad had to go to work, Nare replies. Melek is disappointed. You were going to take me to school, she says. I promise we'll take you tomorrow, okay? Nare says she is feeling a little sick today. Is that why you have red eyes, Melek asks? Nare assures her daughter she will be fine.

Melek asks if her father is coming tonight. Nare answers her with an idea. How about the three of us go to school tomorrow. Then let your dad take you to stay with him for a few days. This way you won’t ask when he’s coming or when you will see him. Melek is not thrilled. I am either with you or with him, but I need both of you by my side, she says.
Gediz interrupts and asks if he can speak with Nare for five minutes. They need to talk about work stuff. Melek goes to the kitchen with Elvan and Gediz and Nare step outside. Uh, oh… Necdet is at the ready.

Gediz asks Nare, how is Sancar? Yeah, why did he even have to ask. He can imagine it. How could he be okay after last night? Nare gets teary, Sancar is alive, at least for now. You found him there, Gediz asks? Yes. He asks and how are you?

Nare says, do you know how many times I have dreamed of this moment? Nine years. It was beautiful in the dream, but in reality, it's a nightmare. He will never forgive himself, she cries. Gediz asks the big question, and ... did you forgive him? Nare hesitates with an answer then says, no. It's impossible. They say that ... love forgives everything, Gediz says, or did they deceive a whole generation?

Nare stays firm on no forgiveness. But she would like Sancar to remember that he has a daughter and that he would not think of doing something stupid... Gediz interrupts that thought. He puts his hands on her arms and says, we won’t allow it. We will think of something. Necdet starts snapping away.

Nare is still worried. I won't be able to live if something happened to Sancar, she tells Gediz. I've learned to live without him, but if something were to happen to him, I couldn’t bear it. How would I explain to Melek what happened to his father? Nare breaks down in tears. Gediz puts his hands on Nare’s face and asks her not to cry, please calm down. He tells her he will look for Sancar and he will protect him. He promises her. Nare continues to cry and Gediz pulls her in close.

Necdet is getting tons of “incriminating” pics and he’s smiling. He sends a message to Menekse: "bring the bracelets. I have the photos of Gediz and Nare ". Menekse is pleased. She falls back onto her bed in delight.
Sancar is in his truck on the phone. Hasan, have you caught him? Yes sir. They caught the driver, Kerem. Take him to the mill, Sancar orders, I will go there tonight. Hasan asks if there will be anything else. Sancar asks about the exits. [assume this is for Akin] Hasan tells him they are watching everywhere. He can't leave Mugla without us knowing. What about hotels? They distributed his picture all over and he will not be able to stay anywhere. Sancar asks about Muge. She has not left her house today. All good.

And speaking of Muge, she pays a visit to her captive. She’s carrying a tray of food. Hello, my love, she says, I’ve come to say that I can't forget you. But I did forget to bring you water and food. He’s eyeing the tray. She teases him with the food. Do you want some? This isn’t for you, it’s for me, she taunts. You know, I thought you were for me, but it wasn't so, Akin. So this ... is not for you. Sorry…she sighs and leaves.

Muge sits outside with her tray. She thinks back to her brother saying, “thanks to you, we are unhappy”. Muge makes a promise that they will be happy again.

Embajador #43 part 5

Gediz asks Nare if she’s feeling better. Yes, I’m not crying anymore. Good, he says, my sister wasn't crying today either. What? Gediz tells Nare that Muge cried and didn’t eat for days and suddenly today she got up early to prepare breakfast and was very hungry. Nare doesn’t share Gediz’ suspicions. She doesn’t think Muge would still protect Akin. Unless…. Gediz says there is a possibility so he’s going to speak with her tonight. Now he’s going to see Sancar.

Gediz gives her the key to a car. He mentions about paying Muge and taking her car. He's giving it to Nare. She is hesitant to accept it. But he claims it is a company car. He insists and she finally accepts with thanks. She also asks him for time off tomorrow morning because she is taking Melek to a school. Okay, but he will take it off her vacation time. Necdet is still lurking, and he watches as Gediz leaves.

Sancar returns to the mansion. [how long has he been gone?] He doesn’t look to eager to enter. He knocks on the door and Menekse opens. She doesn’t even let him through the door and starts up, were you with that woman last night? Were you with Nare? Did you go to a hotel? A hotel, he asks? For what? So you could be together after leaving your daughter with Elvan.

Sancar explains, we did not go to a hotel. This isn’t what you think. There is nothing between us, alright? No, it’s not alright she says, and I will show you why it isn’t, Sancar.

And we are out.

Dondi , thank you for another excellent recap of all the suffering .

I got a kick out of Elvan showing off her English ...which she learned from the restrooms at the hotels.....ha. I liked the play on the breakfast dish Menemen. Elvan is good for Melek and Nare. If this wasn't a Turkish show , I might suspect that Elvan and Gediz might end up together at the end when San and Nare finally come together. However, I am not expecting any happy endings. I learned my lesson about tragic Turkish endings with Amor Eterno.

It appears that Meanie has decided her meek, obedient , I-want -to-be-a -mother- too wasn't working for her. So now she has decided to be demanding and aggressive instead of treating San like lord and master. Lets see how that works out . We know she will show him those photos that dolt brother sent her. San owns all those hotels , so I wish be would gather his clothes and leave that house of horrors . I feel sorry that Gul is stuck there . Is she a servant? Halise doesn't have many people to boss around in her little kingdom anymore . Everyone wants to get away from her . ..except Meanie and Ya ..uff.

Poor , sweet Kav. I hope San finds out that his nasty mother threw Kav out. Wicked witch .

Dondi..thx for another great recap with extras. When I saw the preparing the menemen...didn't know what it was at the time but it looked appealing to me because I love tomatoes. Once you proved the name, I was able to google the recipe and plan to make it tomorrow morning.

Finally, Nare and Sancar were able to talk. What a sad moment. Sancar finally realizes what a butthole he has been not believing Nare...and now he's lost her forever. She's now trying to get him to live and be there for Meleke by not going after Akin. Unfortunately, Sancar is such a hothead...he's probably not going to list to her.

OK...what does it take to put Halise in her place. Don't want the others to suffer but wish she was that poor little servant girl again so she can remember how it felt not to be good enough. Boy did she do her best to make Karuk feel less than. He had already promised not to act on his feelings to Zehra...and she just had to kick him out...of her mansion. She doesn't even have solid footing there herself and she has the nerve to kick him out. I hope Sancar finds out soon and returns the favor by sending her straight back to the mansion.

But...its most likely that Sancar will see the pics of Nare and Gediz and go off his rocker instead of letting Nare have a life she deserves. But I understand it would be hard to see the woman you love happy with your best friend because you came up short.

Unfortunately, I don't see any happy endings here. the Turkish view seem s to be like that song" Love Hurts " I like happy endings although our dear Judyb says that in real life, there are no happy endings, but if you are lucky , you get a happy middle.

I'm having a hard time keeping up but I finally saw all of last week's episodes. Thank you, dondi356 for such fine detailed recaps; they are filling in holes of the scenes that I miss or just don't get.

I was as shocked as everyone else that Muje turned somewhat psycho and injected Akin...this is the scene that stood out from all the rest.

Now Sancar finally accepting what happened to Nare was muy triste; and it seems the directors really thought so too since that scene was quite long.

Meanie is stepping into a pit of coals and she is gonna get burned; can't wait to see that!

Hellise is on hell on wheels. I too hope tha Sancar finds out soon that she kicked out Kavruk.

Dondi356, you asked what Turkish novelas I've seen. All are/were on broadcast tv- I don't have cable or watch on internet. Here goes:
Now watching, Pajaro Soñador on Unimas mostly fun love story, gorgeous galan..omg. The protagonista reminds me of That Girl (60's tv show). Like many novelas, too long.. let's wrap it up!
Identidad Oculta (love that I.O. is only a 30 minute episode) on Telemundo- good enough, not on my must see list.
Previously - Todo Por Mi Hija on Telemundo. 100% must watch. Great blending of social themes, children's lives, love interest, friendships, comedy and drama. And the omnipresent street cats, well fed and loved.
Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagul -Unimas- with Engin with longer hair and those eyes! Not a happy novela, very serious themes, but good ending.
Amor Eterno, with Neslihan from Embajador, plus my first Turkish galan crush- but I'm bad with Turkish names..he was in story about Ottomans. Darn my memory! I believe if Amor had had a second season, the ending would have been far different, and I take solace from that.
Lastly, Kosem, on Telemundo, with actress from Fatmagul. Girl rises from Sultan's harem to be one of most powerful Sultanas in Ottoman history. This is not the red haired Sultana whose life was basis of a different show. Beautiful set design, costumes, jewels. Palace intrigue! Entertaining way to soak up some history.

Most Turkish novelas I've seen have a lot of real outdoor scenes, not the fake green screen of Mexican novelas. Istanbul outdoor cafes overlooking the sea - I want to be there now, drinking coffee!

Glad you find the recaps helpful. I write them with the thought that readers are not viewing the episode. Most of the time, I’ll wait to watch and episode before reading the recap. Sometimes I’ll read a recap before watching and find that’s good enough and I skip watching. Sometimes I’ll read a recap and know which scenes to watch and which to FF>>. Recaps can be a great time saver.

I’m not totally pleased with the translations and my Spanish skills aren’t great. I saw these episodes over a year ago. Sometimes I can remember details from the original but often I can’t. If I have time, I go back to the original to check.

Susanlynn, I’m glad you made the point of Halise losing people to boss around.

There were edits from the original: After Gulsiye leaves to get Kavruk, Halise tells Menekse she needs to put everyone in their place and she’s going to start with Kavruk. Menekse asks why, because Zehra doesn’t love him. Is she going to do anything to Zehra? No, she won’t but she doesn’t want anyone to say that the Efeoglus gave their daughter to a servant.

Menekse asks, what will you do? Halise says watch and see what your MIL will do. I’ll kill two birds with one stone, my daughter and this bumpkin. You will see what Efe women are like.

Kavruk leaves the house and he is so upset, he can’t even make it down the stairs. He sits down and sees the alaca kuş (colored bird) and tells it, if Efe hears this, he will be upset. What should I do? He wipes away his tears.

I want to clarify a couple of things:

Morning after outside the shack: When Sancar wondered if Nare would ever forgive him, she said she couldn’t. He told her, don’t forgive me. She asked him if he could forgive himself and he shrugged and said you know the answer. Yes, Rgv Chick, those crying scenes were long. I suppose it was to signify the 9 years.

Halise told Kavruk to leave the house but she isn’t asking him to leave for good. She needs to keep him around and under control. I hate Halise so much.

We saw that Sancar already suspects Kavruk has feelings for Zehra. But I don’t think he would ever treat Kavruk the way Halise did.

Nett, how was the menemen? I’m not Turkish but I’ve been eating something very close to it all my life. It’s delish.

OT - Turkish Novelas

Thanks for answering me, Beth S. I've seen all the shows you mentioned full or in part.

I've only seen the first 6 Turkish episodes of Pajaro Soñador. I plan to finish it someday. The lead is Can Yaman and I agree he is gorgeous! I saw him in another show, Dolunay/Full Moon/Luna Llena. If that comes to TV, I recommend you give it a try.

I saw Identidad Oculta/Winter Sun/Kiş Güneşi on Netflix. I agree, not the best but it wasn’t bad.

I enjoyed Todo por mi Hija, too. Yep, we recapped that one on the Telemundo patio. It was well done, and I like Buğra Gülsoy. Cats! Another reason to love Turkish shows. There’s always a cat sighting.

Fatmagül is in my top 5 all time faves. Engin with the long hair and eyes and Beren Saat were great together.

Amor Eterno/Kara Sevda Ugh! I'm still traumatized. Burak Özçivit was the hottie in that one.

Telemundo only played the first season of Kosem. Beren Saat was only in the first season and another actress took over the role in the second season. I finished it online.

Turkish shows tend to use natural settings, indoors and outdoors. They don’t use a lot of sets. That adds to the charm.

Of note:

Telemundo recently ran a promo for upcoming TNs including a Turkish one, "Hercai: Amor y Venganza". There was no date. I haven't seen this one.

People en Español reports that Telemundo acquired the rights to Beren Gokyildiz's latest TN. Beren was Oyku in Todo por mi Hija. I've seen the first two eps. It's scheduled to start in Puerto Rico soon.
