Caray, Caray!

Hello, everybody! I have been busy with a couple of projects, and have not actually been watching anything currently being discussed, which is why I have been absent a while. I did start to watch Hasta que el dinero nos separe but got so far behind that I gave up and have just been recording it to watch later.

Anyway, quite some time back Anita used to gently reproach me for not having watched the conclusion of El hotel de los secretos, which I had recorded, and I kept promising her I would. I never expected she would die before I could tell her that I had seen the ending. I finally did watch it this past weekend.

I wanted to note it here just in case she secretly takes a peek at Caray from time to time. And I'm really sorry that we can't have a friendly little argument about the ending as I didn't find it to be quite as good as she did although I did love much of the novela.

Hey, Andy, great to hear from you. I haven’t watched anything in the a.m. since the always “memorable” “Mariana de la noche.” I still can picture that “magical glade” with the always full moon. Good you could finally finish “El hotel de los secretos”. It wasn’t a bad novela. Hope to see you on some novela patio again someday.

Too bad you're not watching Si Nos Dejan because it's a hot one now. If you connect to your cable company's website it might have all the episodes.

We all miss Anita. Her death was a big shock to us.

ECDLP #77

- Nora tries to take the picture from Ricardo but he stops her. She goes to her car and gets plot gun from the glove compartment but has a change of heart and drives away.
- Rebeca is mad that Alonso didn’t tell her about Magdalena’s wedding. Alonso says that he’ll only talk to her if it’s about their divorce and she doesn’t even care about Magdalena.
- Milagros tells Marcelo about seeing Daniela with an older man.
- Vinicio spies on Tere and Lalo
- Nora looks through Rebeca’s room for photos
- Magdalena arrives at the church chauffeured by Alonso. Lucia is worried because she doesn’t see Marcelo yet.
- Marcelo goes to Daniela’s apartment to ask her who the man she is seeing is. She refuses to tell him and asks him to leave.
- Alonso escorts Magdalena down the aisle. The ceremony begins. (NOTE: if you don’t know what a traditional Mexican wedding entails you should read about it. It’s obviously different from a traditional American wedding)
- Rebeca unexpectedly arrives in the middle of the wedding ceremony in a gorgeous red lacy dress. Everyone is shocked.
- Rebeca congratulates Magdalena and says she didn’t want to miss such an important day for her.
- Alonso drags Rebeca out of the church and tells her to leave.
- Daniela tells Ric that she doesn’t think things will work out between them. He wants to prove to her that he cares about her. She gives in.
- Milagros calls a man named Alfredo Suarez who turns out to be Daniela’s father. She tells him she’s worried about Dani and wants him to return to MX so they can talk in person.
- Alfredo calls Daniela to ask how she is doing and if she needs anything. She tells him that she is fine.
- Sara tells Magdalena that Al made Rebeca leave so she doesn’t have to worry about it.
- Marcelo tells Lucia that he went to see Daniela because Milagros is worried because Dani is involved with someone who isn’t right for her.
- Rebeca finds Nora looking through her bedroom. Nora says Ric has a photo of Rebeca’s. She knows Rebeca gave him that photo so clearly it’s Reb’s fault that Ric left Magdalena at the altar.
- Rebeca says Nora has no right to judge her since she seduced Rodrigo.
- Nora arrives at the wedding reception very shaken up. Alonso comforts her and takes her back home.
- Rebeca comes into Nora’s bedroom but Nora doesn’t want to see her.
- Rodrigo runs into Leti. He notices she is upset but she doesn’t want to talk about it.
- Rebeca claims that everyone, including Alonso, is turning Nora against her.
- Lucia tells Marcelo that she is worried about Nora. Marcelo says that for a moment Nora reminded him of Federico.
- Marcelo wants to set a wedding date. Lucia is still worried about what’ll happen when Alonso and Nora learn the truth.
- When Lucia and Marcelo enter the house they see Nora with plot gun. She points it at Lucia saying Lucia took everything from her.
- Marcelo tries to get Nora to give him the gun. A struggle ensues and the gun goes off.

Hi Andy! I have not been watching any telenovelas lately, at all.


FELS

However, I saw FELS on the daily schedule and when I remember, I'll turn it on while eating my lunch. Ah, good times. Too bad it is on for two hours (!!!) because that is one hour too much for a regular commitment. But It is nice to escape from the real world into the e.coli bakery at FELS-landia and ogle los hermanos Reyes. :-)

Nora is certifiable. There has to be a provision for civil commitment in Mexico.

Nobody should have to live with anyone as dangerous and delusional as she is.
 

ECDLP #78

- Marcelo and Nora realize neither of them are hurt and Marcelo quickly grabs the gun from her but when Lucia calls out his name they all realize that she has been shot in the leg.
- Marcelo drops the gun and goes over to her as she screams in pain and Nora looks on in disbelief.
- Alonso and Rebeca run down the stairs having heard the commotion. Al demands to know what happened. Marc looks to Nora for a moment before he and Alonso carry Lucia out.
- Rebeca demands to know what Nora did but Nora runs up to her room and locks the door before Rebeca can enter.
- Sara receives a call from Alonso and she and Leti rush to the hospital.
- Marcelo tells Alonso that Nora broke into his apartment and stole the gun from him. He says he and Lucia thought they could handle the situation without telling Alonso.
- Rebeca carefully picks up the gun briefly and flashes back to Federico’s suicide.
- Sara tells Alonso that Lucia is fine but will stay overnight at the hospital under observation. She tells him that because the injury was a bullet wound they’ll have to notify the authorities.
- Magdalena and Mario are leaving for their honeymoon but Mags is still affected by what happened with Rebeca and Nora at the wedding.
- Alonso decides to return home to check on Nora while Marcelo stays with Lucia.
- Marcelo calls Milagros saying that Lucia is in the hospital but doesn’t give details so she doesn’t really believe his story.
- Alonso tells Rebeca that Lucia is okay. He berates her about Nora having the gun. He won’t bother Mario for legal counsel.
- Alonso unlocks Nora’s bedroom door with a key. She tells him that she never meant to hurt Lucia.
- The next day Lucia is awake. The police come to interview her. She says that she accidentally shot herself. Marcelo says the gun is his. He’ll have to take it in for evidence.
- Lucia tells Marcelo that Nora has too many problems already and doesn’t want to add to them.
- The detectives don’t think Lucia was telling the truth.
- Alonso wants Rebeca to give him the gun so he can return it to Marcelo. She does. She vaguely mentions that the gun has caused several tragedies.
- Roman visits Nora. He tells her that she’ll have to decide if she really wants to continue their sessions.
- Alonso asks Roman if he could testify in Nora’s case as her psychiatrist if needed. Roman asks about Lucia.
- Marcelo tells Lucia that he is going to tell Alonso the truth particularly because of the history of his gun.
- Marcelo lies to Milagros about how Lucia got hurt with the gun. She wants him to get rid of the gun. He tells Rafaela the truth. He says he may get rid of the gun after talking to Alonso.
- Lucia’s wound bleeds again. She has a minor clot.
- Nora tells Rebeca that she doesn’t want to be anywhere near her.
- Nazario finally finds out what happened to Lucia.
- Magdalena has a feeling something bad is about to happen in Puebla.
- Marcelo tells Alonso that Lucia took the blame for the shooting.
- Alonso gives him the gun back and Marcelo tells him that it’s the gun his brother committed suicide with because of a woman. He reminds Alonso of the conversation they couldn’t finish before.
- Marcelo apologizes for the pain he’s about to cause Alonso and says that the woman caused his brother to commit suicide left something near his body. He takes the earring out of his pocket. Alonso immediately recognizes it.
- Marcelo confirms that Rebeca is the woman and that he (M) came to Puebla to avenge his brother’s death.

I think Roman deserves Hazard pay for dealing with Nora. She is one of the most toxic narcissists we've ever seen.

If Lucia had died as a result if this Nora would have needed to find someone else to hate to this degree. There is no goodness in her at all.

Jarifa, UA, Diana, Doris: I am hoping to sometime soon find a good telenovela that's also a good fit for me and is being covered here at Caray.

I think we all believe that watching with others is much more fun than watching alone.

But, wow, a good telenovela that's also a good fit for me and is being covered here at Caray.

ECDLP #79

- Alonso is livid hearing the revelation. He accuses Marcelo of hatching a cold blooded revenge plan to gain his (Al) trust and seducing Rebeca.
- Alonso says that Amador was right about Marcelo. Marcelo says he did not sleep with Rebeca. He says Lucia already knows everything.
- Alonso fires Marcelo and tells him to stay away from his family. Marcelo says that Rebeca used Adriana’s name to seduce his brother.
- Alonso tells Normita to tell security that Marcelo is no longer allowed to step foot in the factory. Normita is shocked and confused.
- Milagros is still upset that Marcelo has the gun and won’t tell him the identity of the woman responsible for Federico’s death.
- Alonso wants to take Lucia out of the hospital without authorization. Nazario makes him see reason. Alonso is upset that Nazario also knew everything.
- Nazario assures Lucia that everything will be okay
- Rebeca asks Teresa to stay with Nora while she goes out.
- The police ask Marcelo what his relationship is with the Gaxiola family. The detective also asks if Marcelo knows who Ricardo Marquez is.
- Ricardo is behind in his rent payments and tells the landlord he’ll pay her the following week. Daniela offers to lend him the money.
- Teresa tells Alonso that Rebeca left. Alonso decides to check on Nora.
- Nora is worried that Lucia is still in the hospital. Alonso tells her that things are about to change drastically.
- Nora asks Alonso for forgiveness for not being a good daughter.
- Lucia is worried about everything that’s happening and wants to leave the hospital.
- Roman visits Lucia. She tells him that she’s overwhelmed but doesn’t elaborate.
- Marcelo arrives and is jealous of Roman. Sara tells Lucia that she can go home.
- Alonso begins removing Rebeca’s clothes from the closet.
- Rebeca tells Roman she’ll do anything for Nora’s sake.
- Lucia is anxious for Alonso to pick her up. She is sure that he is confronting Rebeca.
- Rebeca goes to the church to pray for Nora. She runs into Milagros and Milly tells her that her son’s ashes are at the church. Rebeca goes to the crypt and sees Federico’s name,
- Lucia finally gets ahold of Alonso to pick her up. Marcelo leaves the hospital.
- Alonso realizes Nora has left the house. She shows up at the hospital to see Lucia. She apologizes for what she did. Lucia asks Nora if their dad has talked to Rebeca.
- Rebeca finds her clothes strewn on her bed. Alonso tells her to pack her things and leave. He knows everything. She besmirched Adriana’s name. He shows her her earring. She makes him drop it and it falls under a dresser.
- Rebeca admits that she slept with Marcelo’s brother and that he committed suicide because of her. She’s glad about it because it proved that someone cared for her unlike Alonso.
- Rebeca says she used Adriana’s name because she felt like it.
- Alonso drags Rebeca down the stairs and tells her to get out of the house that he built for Adriana. Rebeca repeats that Adriana is dead and that Adriana died because she pushed her over the railing. Adriana had discovered that Rebeca was in love with Alonso.
- Alonso suddenly has a heart attack. He tries to get his pills but Rebeca snatches the bottle away. Alonso falls to the ground and dies.

Alonso's reaction justified Marcelo's and Lucia's hesitation to tell him the truth about this. Alonso did not deserve to die like this.

Rebeca still refuses to own her evil, even now.

Ricardo is definitely going to take serious advantage of Daniela. Payback is a bitch, isn't it?

UA: I agree with everything you said. Probably the one thing I didn’t like about ECDLP watching it the first time around was that Alonso was killed off. I get the whole thing about him being reunited with his first love in the afterlife but it’s still unfortunate for Lucia losing her parents because of Rebeca.

Daniela lacks self love and self worth. That’s the difference between her and Lucia to me. Daniela doesn’t have a mother figure (Milagros is definitely NOT one for her) while at least Lucia has Magdalena. And Lucia has had her father (until now) while Alfredo is not emotionally available and at times not physically available for Daniela.

The other thing is that Alfredo is not emotionally mature enough for fatherhood. He is still carrying on as though he were Rodrigo's age. That chick we just saw him with was barely older than Daniela. That would not contribute positively to the father/daughter relationship. She has Daddy issues, hence getting involved with Ricardo who is at least Alfredo's age and even looks older.

Milagros should never have been a mother. I can't imagine what she was like when Federico was a child. That boy was a mess.
