Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #59
Part 1 of Almost 5
To his credit, Miran has not chased after HAG and is sitting on the stairs remembering conversations: pleading lies from HAG, Reyyan’s focus on the HAG’s lies and games she plays and Hazar’s claims he loved Dilsah. He is clearly torn between good and evil.
At the Country House (CH), Hazar and Zehra are in the gazebo, Hazar pacing nervously. He tells her to go to bed as he is going to take a walk. She wants to go with him, but he convinces her she shouldn’t be out in her pregnant condition. Finally, Zehra agrees and just in time as Esma calls Hazar to let him know ReyMir are back at the konak. Hazar says, great, I will be right over. No, not now, says Esma, it is the middle of the night. Wait until the morning, you don’t want to get Reyyan in trouble. She is already in trouble, says Hazar. Plus, I cannot keep this information quiet any longer.
Esma tells him again not to come and show that letter in public especially after the scene he made the day before, the door is protected by extra guards. She begs him to wait until the morning. He says he will find a way in. This cannot wait another night.
Outside the konak, Hazar is looking for a place to enter without raising suspicions. Reyyan is in the bedroom praying for guidance to help both her father and Miran.
She hears a muffled cry outside her window and the sound of feet running across the patio outside her window. She says, Miran? She walks out to the patio and calls again, Miran? Walking over to the stairs, she looks down and sees Hazar lying at the bottom of the staircase, Miran is standing over him. From the ground view, there is a gun on the ground in the lower courtyard, right above Hazar’s head, that is oozing blood.
A tense look goes between Miran and Reyyan. She screams, Father?! Instead of rendering aide, Miran just stands there like a dumb ass looking really, really guilty. (This was the dramatic scene to end Turkish episode #19).
Via an overhead view, we see the ambulance, followed by Miran’s car driving through the streets of Midyat to the hospital. Reyyan is riding shotgun in the ambulance while a female paramedic takes care of Hazar. Hazar wakes up momentarily and grabs her arm, asking, where is the letter? He promptly passes out and has an apparent cardiac event. The paramedic attempts to revive him, while Reyyan watches and cries from the front seat of the ambulance, begging her to save Hazar and to crying to Hazar, not to die.
Miran and Firat are driving behind the ambulance. Miran is saying, Hazar cannot die this way. Firat responds with, let him die and be done. But Miran wants the truth to come out, otherwise Hazar dies as a hero in Reyyan’s eyes with her not knowing the real facts (according to HAG). The ambulance arrives and Hazar is rushed into the emergency department with Reyyan crying and begging the doctor to save her father. She is told she cannot enter the restricted area.
Miran comes up behind her and attempts to hug her. She pushes him away saying, You did it! You wanted my father dead for your revenge and you did it! She pummels him, pushing him backward. Miran is dumbfounded, saying I did not hurt your father. Reyyan continues, you have been hurting my family for years! My father is innocent, he is innocent! Now he is struggling for life because of you! You finished us Miran! You and your grandmother. Miran attempts again to say he did not hurt Hazar. Reyyan is not having any of it. She cries, as Miran weakly says, Reyyan.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #59
Part 2 of Almost 5
In the emergency room, the doctors are evaluating Hazar, placing an oxygen mask on his face while a nurse begins to cut away his clothing. We see the letter, sticking in the inside jacket pocket as the scissors, cut, snip and cut, all very near the letter. Hazar’s vital signs do not look good, there is no pulse and the doctor says they must get him to an operating room immediately.
At the Aslanbey konak, Esma is staring at the blood-stained tile where Hazar fell, crying and wishing she hadn’t called him to let him know the kids (ReyMir) were home. She sobs, its all my fault. Meanwhile, Gonul is on the phone trying to reach Miran or Firat to see if Hazar is alive, there is still no answer. Everyone is in the courtyard, including Elif, standing away and alone from everyone else.
Gonul says, what happened? We need to know how he fell. It is the Turkish Lupe, Shahriar, who wonders if maybe someone pushed him down the stairs? After all, he is the enemy. Looks go all around and Elif looks like she might be sick.
Someone makes a call to Cihan and tells him that Hazar was in an accident. The whole Country House (CH) awakens and begins to scream and wail in despair, without any details, of course.
Reyyan is crying, saying she doesn’t know what she will do if her father dies, she will die too. She collapses to her knees and Miran comes again to try to console her. She snaps at him to go away, but he refuses. This is all my fault, she says, he begged me to come home with him a thousand times, but I kept telling him, no, because I love Miran. She looks up at Miran, I believed in you Miran. He didn’t, but I did and convinced him our love was real. If he dies, it is my fault because I could not protect him from you.
Frustrated, Miran sits across the hallway from Reyyan, saying nothing. Firat comes over and tells him they should leave. Reyyan wonders out loud, why was he coming over in the middle of the night without telling me. What was so important that it couldn’t wait until the morning? Miran wonders the same thing to Firat. What was Hazar doing at the konak in the middle of the night? Did he fall or did someone push him? If someone pushed him, then who and why? Firat tries to keep him calm. Reyyan glares at Miran from across the hallway.
In Kars, HAG is up and around in the middle of the night. Mahmoud arrives asking what she needs. HAG shares that right now, he is the only person she trusts especially since he knows most of her secrets. She thinks the person who is writing the notes is playing with her and she wants him to keep tabs on everyone and I mean everyone, from here on out. I want to know their every move, especially Miran. His actions recently are concerning. Mahmoud acknowledges her wishes. Thinking about what Miran has recently told her, mainly that she will never separate him from Reyyan, HAG wonders if Miran has given up his revenge for the sake of love?
HAG gets a call from Hanife, who shares the news that Hazar took a tumble down the Aslanbey staircase in the middle of the night and is now on deaths door in an operating room. Confused, HAG says, did he fall or was he pushed? Hanife doesn’t know the details, but she is just glad that HAG is in Kars so no one will blame her, the blame will fall on Miran instead. HAG is not happy with this news and tells Hanife to keep her informed and hangs up. She tells Mahmoud to ready the car, they are heading back to Midyat. Alone, she says, you cannot die like that Hazar, you must die by the bullet shot from your own son’s gun, not by a game of anyone else’s making, only my game.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #59
Part 3 of Almost 5
Back at the hospital, in the calm before the storm, Reyyan continues to glare at Miran and he continues to look miserable. Just then, Hurricane Sadoglu hits and everyone comes running down the hallway, yelling Reyyan!? Reyyan! What happened? How is he? Who did this? Hesitating, Reyyan begins to tell them what she heard. Firat, tells Miran, lets go, this is going to get ugly. Sure enough, as soon as Reyyan gets to the part about her seeing Hazar at the bottom of the stairs and now he is in surgery, all heck breaks loose.
Azat sees Miran and immediately grabs him pushing him up against the wall saying, You did this! You want my Uncle dead. Cihan and GT join in. Miran pushes Azat off, saying he did nothing to Hazar! Miran looks over to Reyyan and repeats his new mantra, I did nothing to Hazar, I did nothing to Hazar. Security has to come in and break up the fight. GT threatens Miran for the umpteenth time.
Zehra is listening, but is so overwhelmed, she is holding on the handrail against the wall and passes out. Reyyan sees her and yells, Mom! The hurricane now moves over to fussing over and finding a doctor for the passed out Zehra.
At the CH, Hanife, Melike and Nigar are all worried, wondering how Hazar is doing and Melike worried about Zehra. Handan is upset because she wasn’t allowed to be part of the hurricane and keeps calling Yaren and Cihan to get an update, but they do not respond to her calls. She moves away from the gazebo to call Shahriar and get the scoop. Shahriar says they don’t know what happened but when Hazar left in the ambulance, he was is bad shape. Handan confirms that Miran was there when it happened.
Reyyan is watching over the still unconscious Zehra, who has an IV stuck in her arm. She closes the exam door and sits alone in the hallway. Miran is just a few feet away and immediately goes to her. She again pushes him away, but at least this time he admits that he did say he wanted to kill Hazar, but not this way. He begs Reyyan to believe him. Reyyan is still not believing him. Miran tells her that he went to the kitchen and then found Hazar lying at the bottom of the stairs when he returned, he did not push him. (Why didn’t you say that earlier?).
Just then, Reyyan hears her mother arguing with the nurse as she tries to yank the IV out of her arm. The nurse tells her to stay calm and allow the fluids into her dehydrated system, for the good of the baby she is carrying. Both Miran and Reyyan enter the exam room and hear this news. Zehra confirms to Reyyan that she is pregnant and they hug. Zehra insists on removing the IV and going to be by Hazar side. Miran has discreetly left the exam room but is outside the door when they exit. Zehra demands to know what he is doing there and she wishes him all sorts of bad things. Reyyan says nothing to defend Miran against her mother’s accusations as they walk away.
Miran, says to Firat, how will I make them believe that I did not do anything to hurt Hazar? I am losing Reyyan. Firat tells him to stay calm, everyone is very upset right now. You will not lose Reyyan. Miran looks at Firat and says, you are such a good person, Firat. I have not treated you well and yet here you are supporting me like a true brother. Miran fiercely hugs Firat.
Outside the operating room, Azat paces, GT and Yaren hold up the walls and Cihan feels guilty for the awful things he told his brother a day earlier. Reyyan and Zehra walk into the corridor and GT immediately attacks Reyyan demanding to know why she is there and of course blaming her for everything that has happened to the family. (I will spare you the details).
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #59
Part 4 of Almost 5
Reyyan refuses to go and blocks the old geezer from trying to slap her. She says that she will stay to be with her father and will not leave unless he tells her to. Both Cihan and Azat make a half-hearted attempt to run interference for Reyyan as Firat has to physically restrain Miran from getting involved. (Poor Reyyan, she has no safe place to be). GT finally walks away. (I really wish he would have fallen down some stairs).
Cihan tells Reyyan that he understands she wants to be with her father, but until GT calms down, maybe she should wait outside the hospital. He promises to keep her informed of any changes. She heads down the hallway, with Miran on her heals. The operating room door opens and a nurse come out saying that Hazar is in desperate need of blood (I think it is AB-) and it is hard to find. He will not live without this blood and there is no time to get blood from other blood banks. Hurricane Sadoglu has a resurgence of energy and start making calls to find this rare blood type. (Shouldn’t GT have the same blood type? Hummm).
Miran hears this desperate request to find a blood donor. He says, don’t die Hazar Sadoglu, as he pounds the wall, making a decision. He tells Firat not to follow him. Miran of course has the same blood type as Hazar.
We see Hazar, face down on the operating room table. We then see Miran, standing outside the blood donation lab, remembering the indoctrination lies HAG has poured into him for years about what Hazar did to his mother and father. He also remembers the confrontation he had with Hazar, when he encountered him at his mother’s gravesite and Hazar confessed to loving his mother. Miran is clearly torn as he remembers Reyyan telling him that she will always love him and be at his side regardless of whether her father is wrong. Then he remembers her words from tonight, saying that he has doomed them with this revenge.
Almost suffering another panic attack, Miran makes the decision to donate blood to Hazar, who we now see desperately needs blood to survive, as the doctor asks the nurse to check if any blood has been donated. While donating blood, Miran remembers the bedtime story HAG told him about the child who was left orphaned by Hazar Sadoglu and his vow to avenge his parents’ death by killing Hazar Sadoglu. He says, I am only doing this for you Reyyan, only for you.
The nurse comes in to check on Miran and to get his name (apparently there is no prescreening test for blood donors in a Turkish hospital). Miran says he is fine and gives a false name to the nurse. Miran asks if his blood will go immediately to the operating room where the patient, Hazar Sadoglu is in desperate need. She says that it will go there immediately.
Firat goes outside and says to the air, Miran, don’t do anything stupid! (Now there is a big ask). Yaren sees him and doesn’t waste the opportunity to use those valuable acting classes, she proceeds to cry loudly into her hands. Firat immediately goes over and gently touches her shoulder, she flings herself into his arms hugging him.
Uncomfortable, Firat hugs her back briefly but then has her sit down on the bench. She pretends to care about her uncle and how this might aggravate the tension with the family. What happened? She asks. Or you won’t tell me, I understand. I just home that no one in you home is a murderer. Firat says that no one knows what really happened, Hazar might just have fallen. Yaren touches his hand and says she hope that is the case.
Part 5 of Almost 5
Now feigning dignity, she stands up to leave and promptly pretends to faint in his arms. He offers to take her to the emergency room, but Yaren quickly recovers saying, I just wish we didn’t have this constant hostility and we had met before. I would like to just talk to you and laugh and not talk about raids or who is dying. It causes so much anxiety. Firat says nothing, but his face looks hopeful as he agrees with the crap Yaren is spouting.
Firat gets a call. He tells Yaren that he must take the call, will she be okay? Yes, she says, take your call. I know you have a lot to deal with especially just trying to keep Miran calm. Pathetically, she says, I will be alright, you don’t need another burden. She thanks him for caring and moves into the hospital. Firat takes the call from Gonul who wants to know how things are going. There are not updates he tells her. Hazar remains in surgery.
Gonul shares that information with the rest of the group waiting in the courtyard.
Suddenly, Sultana looks around, asking for Elif. Where is she? After a moment of panic, we see Elif is huddled into a ball in a corner, by Gonul’s bedroom. She looks almost comatose. Gonul approaches her, Esma turns to Sultana and says, what if she is sick again? Gonul gently touches her shoulder, Elif, are you okay? Elif looks straight at Sultana and says, he is dead. Sultana looks more than concerned at this comment, as the episode ends.
Hi all! I struggled not only writing this emotional episode but trying to keep it to 4 sections. I was over by a couple of paragraphs, that is why it is labeled “Almost 5” 😊
I much preferred the episodes that were outside on horseback. These hospital ones are hard to watch. Having said that, I will be able to recap the Wednesday episode this week. Hopefully, Hazar is fully recovered by then with Miran’s blood and TN medical magic.
Wonderful recap VVS no matter how many sections there are! Complete and to the point, the way Ilike it! I much prefer the outside horseback episodes too!! They went from light to completely dark! Heart wrenching episode, and it seemed to move in slow motion at certain points. I know it was for the “dramatic” effect, but there’s no way I would’ve been standing at the top of those steps that long if that were my. “papa” at the bottom of the stairs! Hell, had it been anybody, I would’ve been front and center! Poor Elif though, looks like she did the pushing??? She’s way too fragile. Don’t know what her mental history is yet, but it’s apparent that there is one.
Reymir can’t seem to get ahead——- always an obstacle. Why did Hazar have to be so adamant about facing the truth tonight??? Everyone already had a rough day and night before! Folks need time to catch their breath for goodness sakes! So glad Reyyan stopped the old coot from smacking her. She’s getting stronger and tougher and will be getting the respect that she deserves. So sick of the “ it’s all your fault Reyyan” theme! Hazar is a grown ass man, and had no business going there in the middle of the night!
And Yaren, with her pseudo-quasi mini upright not fainting moment! If she weren’t so fake she’d be an all out boob job, butt injected, plastic surgery experiment! That Firat can’t see through her is laughable! Glad him and Miran kissed and made up, though I still don’t trust Firat all that much. I know Reymir will weather this storm, but it’s so sad they have to go through another storm so soon after that fabulous kiss! And what about Azize saying that Hazar has to die the way “she” wants him to!?!? What nerve!!
Thanks again VVS 😊
You are up and at it early in my time zone carmella! Thank you for the great comments. You made me laugh over my morning coffee: “And Yaren, with her pseudo-quasi mini upright not fainting moment! If she weren’t so fake she’d be an all out boob job, butt injected, plastic surgery experiment!” Hilarious!
I thought the episode moved in slow motion too. The only thing that was totally interesting was the end of the episode with Elif. I wonder what “sickness” Esma was referring to? Sultana looks guilty of something as well. It ran through my mind that Elif may have been the one who pushed, maybe accidentally, Hazar down the stairs.
Miran was not my favorite last night. He has a lot to learn about sympathy and empathy, it is always about himself. Reyyan was definitely strong last night as you and others have mentioned, she seems to get stronger each episode.
VVS...thank you for another snappy recap . I didnt watch this episode , so I missed all the...drama.
Mira admits to Rey that ...yes he wanted to kill her father but ...".not that way ." Que the heck. Wow . That was harsh. ...under the category of brutally honest .
I especially enjoyed the " holding up the wall" comment . That's all they seem to do.
I am beginning to think that Azize is taking all these day trips because she likes riding around with Mahmoud . Driving Miss
Azize.
So is Yaren turning her desires away from Miran and towards Firat ?
The Azat character was also watching over a loved one in the hospital in the episode of " KPA" that I watched last night. I love this actor .
Anybody else watching this Telenovela so far ? Only reason I'm watching this (off & on) is because of Carmen Villalobos.
Thanks so much, VVS, for this wonderful recap of a somewhat less-than-wonderful episode. I appreciated all the detail you included and, of course, your snarky descriptions ("Just then, Hurricane Sadoglu hits") and asides, e.g., "GT finally walks away. (I really wish he would have fallen down some stairs)." Amen to that! But all the repetitious shrieking and wailing and blaming were just tiresome. And why did Reyyan stand at the top of the stairs staring for a surprisingly long time before she yelled "Father" and screamed?
I'm somewhat confused about the gun that was lying next to Hazar on the floor. I don't think we heard a gunshot, and I doubt that a shot to the head (where the blood seemed to be) would have allowed him to live. Perhaps the gun was Hazar's, and it fell out of wherever he had it when he fell down the stairs?
I cheered when Reyyan reached up and prevented GT from hitting her, and then defied his order to leave. She continues to grow emotionally stronger with each episode. Conversely, what's with Elif? I have always admired her emotional strength in standing up to HAG et al. But now we're told that she may be ill AGAIN? Sigh.
For me, the most interesting part of the episode was Miran's decision to donate blood. It was even exciting, since I kept worrying that he would decide half-way through that he didn't want to do this after all and would up and leave. It's interesting that he gave a false name, so of course neither Reyyan nor Hazar will know, leading to Reyyan's resentment probably lasting for at least several episodes. I'd love to be wrong about this; perhaps he'll tell Reyyan tonight, when I'm recapping? ¡Ojalá!
Thanks for another wonderful recap, VVS. Great snarky asides that I totally agree with.
Miran spends a lot of time looking “like a dumb ass”. Like father, like son. I think I’m supposed to feel sorry for both, but at times it’s very difficult.
Yeah, as soon as they mentioned blood was needed… you knew it would come down to Miran.
What was with that operation? I expected they’d be operating on Hazar’s head, which seemed to have no damage. Instead, they were poking around further down. Maybe he won’t be able walk? Maybe he won’t remember anything that happened?
The letter! Someone please save that letter!
Carmella:
LOL—“If she weren’t so fake she’d be an all out boob job, butt injected, plastic surgery experiment!” Yaren is so disgusting and Firat is so stupid. I don’t trust him that much either, especially if he really is an Aslanbey.
Also, Elif’s increasing fragility and the mention of “sickness” has made me wonder if she will make it to the end. Maybe you are right about an Azat/Gonul pairing. I mentioned over the weekend that the actor who plays Azat got married. I neglected to include that he married the actress who plays Gonul! Those two fit together IRL!
Susanlynn:
“I am beginning to think that Azize is taking all these day trips because she likes riding around with Mahmoud” I’ve been thinking the same thing!
I see you are zooming through episodes of KPA. Makes for good binge watching. I like the Arda/Azat actor, too. I was happy to see he was in Hercai.
Juanita:
I don’t know if a shot to the head matters in this show. Remember when Gul was shot in the head? Although it was a mistranslation, the doctor said it didn’t hit a vital organ. I hope you get something good to recap tonight!
Hugo, there are 69 Turkish eps in total. Seems like each Turkish ep is approximately 3 Spanish.
dondi356
Great comments and questions Susanlynn, Juanita and dondi356! Hello Hugo! Like dondi356 mentioned, there are a lot of Telemundo episodes left to go. We are on #60 tonight and the Turkish version is about 40 minutes into episode #20 of 69.
Susanlynn: Driving Miss Azize, very clever! I would drive around with Mahmoud all day long too. I think Yaren is just interested in Firat because she found out that he has full monetary authority over the Aslanbey dinero.
Juanita: I wondered about the gun too. I think it was Hazar’s and it fell out of his hand when he took that tumble? We didn’t hear any gunshots. Does Hazar now owe Miran a debt of some sort when it does come out that his blood saved Hazar’s life? I hope you have more story line drama and less rehashing drama for tonight’s recap.
dondi356: I hope that letter didn’t get snipped away by those scissors. I do work for a large hospital and know that the nursing staff are always very careful with a patient’s belongings, regardless of the severity of the emergency. What was up with the surgery? I thought Hazar had a head injury so I was surprised to see him face down on the operating room table.
I am worried about Elif. What type of sickness does she have or did have and is this why she is HAG’s favorite? How interesting that Azat and Gonul married in real life. It makes sense, all those acting hours, in close proximity of each other.
Wow! Azat married Gonul (the actors of course, lol). How cool is that! Thanx for the info dondi356!
Another stellar (almost 5) recap once again, VVS. You always put in details that I miss! I did not see a gun near Hazar nor observe that Reyyan was slow in running to her father's side. Nor did I notice or remember the footsteps running on those stone floors after the cry by Hazar.
Well, I am in a foreign country, so don't always know what to expect. Had it been a novela written in Spanish, I'd have been certain that, although Hazar's condition was grave, he'd have been up running through the streets by the end of this week. I wasn't sure the Turks wouldn't kill him off, with the existence of the two letters revealed very close to the end.
I join the chorus of "Let Nasuh fall down some stairs!"
I also didn't remember seeing the cutting away of Hazar's clothes and where the letter was. I may need to watch these episodes twice since I seem to miss so much!
I hadn't thought about Yaren's reaching out to Firat lately being due to his having POA over the Aslanbey $$. I guess I was still thinking she's trying to figure out a way to use him to get to Miran. I will say she did seem upset about what happened to Hazar.
Of course, after finishing watching the episode, I realized it would not make for very good drama for Hazar not to be alive for the big "who's your daddy" moment.
Hugo, A Turkish dizi will air once a week. The shows usually run between 2 and 2.5 hours, give or take. There are a couple of 10-15 minute intermissions when they run advertising. It’s sort of like watching a movie. Istanbul is 7 hrs. ahead of me, so when I choose to live stream an 8pm dizi, I’m starting around 1p and it’s usually over by 4p.
dondi356
There is a lot to see and hear in this dizi, novelera. When I recap, I have gotten into the habit of watching the Turkish version (trying not to jump ahead and spoil anything) then the Telemundo version and finally the Peacock version just to make sure I captured all the dialogue and nuances that Hercai has. It helps me fill in all the stuff I miss the first time watching.
I am not sure what Yaren is after except for power and maybe money. I do think she is delusional that Miran might still be hers one day as well and using Firat is a good option to stay close. I am still waiting for her smelly, warty husband to come on to the scene.
Hugo, I hope you stay on with us to comment once in a while. 😊
dondi356, thanks for explaining how the Turkish episodes actually run. How fascinating, but I don’t think I could wait a whole week with some of these cliff-hanger episodes.
Hercai: Amor y venganza - #60 - p 1 de 4
The episode opens with a terrified Elif saying, "He's dead!" Gonul tries to assure her that no one has died. Gonul comments to Sultana that Elif probably remembered the accident. We then see a flashback. A lifeless man and woman are lying on the ground. A little dark-haired girl, surely Elif, is standing by them, looking down at their bodies. Sultana, who seems to have been injured in the accident, picks up Elif and tells her not to look. She starts to carry Elif away. Suddenly, we hear a man's voice call out, "Help me, Sultana!" We then see a burning car, which has turned over, and a man half in and half out of the car. Sultana says under her breath, "I said one day you'd burn, Ahmed. That day has arrived." Sultana continues to move away from the car. The man continues to cry out, "Don't leave me here. For the love of God, come back, don't leave me here." Sultana's back is facing the car, but she holds Elif over her shoulder, so Elif is watching as the car explodes in flames.
The flashback ends. Sultana urges Elif not to remember, forget the past. Then Esma, Gonul, and the ever-present Sehriyah take Elif to her room and put her to bed. Sultana follows behind them. She asks Elif, "Why do you feel so bad? You had no relation to him." Gonul asks, "What kind of question is that? A man fell in our house." She then asks Elif, "Why are you so scared? Did you see something? Was he pushed?" Wanting more privacy, Sultana tells Esma to leave, she and Gonul will take care of Elif. Esma and Sehriyah leave. As soon as they're gone, Gonul moves Sultana away, presumably so Elif won't hear her, and tells Sultana, "Azize needs to hear about all this from us, or we'll pay dearly for it." Sultana doesn't agree. "What can Azize do? She can't heal Hazar, and she can't help Elif. Let her stay far away." Gonul isn't convinced. "What if Elif doesn't get better? What if she doesn't speak? I'm going to call Azize." Sultana grabs Gonul's phone. Gonul leaves the room. Sultana goes over to Elif's bed, sits down, and stares at her. It's hard to tell what she's thinking. She then hesitantly reaches out with her hand, draws it back, then reaches out again and very gently touches the covers covering Elif. A startled Elif quickly sits up in bed, clearly frightened. She looks at Sultana and then says, repeatedly, "It shouldn't have happened."
In the courtyard, Sehriyah asks Esma what accident Gonul was talking about. Esma explains, "Elif lost her parents in a terrible accident. She didn't talk after that for a long time. And Gonul lost her father." (She doesn't say this, but it seems very likely that Ahmed was Sultana's abusive husband and Gonul's father. Gonul apparently was not present when the accident occurred.)
The scene shifts to the hospital. Reyyan is outside with Azat. She is remembering what her father had said about Miran, that he had a heart of stone. Azat is trying to comfort her. He tells her that they'll surely find someone with the same blood type, and your father will survive. Reyyan is worried that even if her father survives, nothing will ever be the same. At that moment, Miran strides out of the hospital. He pulls the bandaid off from where he gave blood. Firat sees this. "Don't tell me you gave blood," he says. "Of course I did," replies Miran. "Hazar Sadoglu can't die. If he dies, Reyyan...." Suddenly he catches sight of Azat and Reyyan sitting together on a bench across the street from the hospital. Azat is clearly comforting Reyyan, which of course does not comfort Miran. He races across the street to confront them. Reyyan tells him to leave.
Hercai: Amor y venganza - #60 - p 2 de 4
"Don't ask me to leave, I can't!" replies Miran. "Please don't ask that of me. It breaks my heart to see you like this, Reyyan. Hear me out, just this once." Reyyan tells Miran, "My father said you didn't know how to love, and he asked me to teach you. I tried very hard to do so, Miran, but it was impossible. It was too much for your heart. If my father dies, you and I will die with him. Leave!" A clearly torn Miran returns across the street. Firat is there. Miran tells Firat, "Hazar isn't the only one fighting to survive. Our love is struggling to survive, too."
We then see Hazar in the operating room fighting to survive. "He has no pulse," someone announces. "His heart has stopped!" says another. "Get the defibrilator!" orders the doctor. Viewerville watches, nervous but confident that telenovela medicine will work. Zehra, however, is not so confident. She paces up and down, repeating "He can't die! He can't die!" Catching sight of Miran, she strikes him hard on his face. "You did this! You pushed him!" she screams. "My husband won't die, he'll survive. Pray he lives!" Miran once again insists, "It wasn't me. It wasn't me, Reyyan." Zehra tells him, "You are our only enemy!" Reyyan adds, "You doomed us. Not my mother or father, not your grandmother. Just you." She walks away. Miran catches sight of the ring he gave her (the ring Hazar gave to Dilsah) lying on the sidewalk. He picks it up.
Yaren (hiss here) says to Firat, "At moments like this, couples should be together." Firat agrees, but points out that the situation of Miran and Reyyan is different. Yaren does her Yaren thing (lies, lies, and more lies) and then says she has to leave. Foolish Firat thanks her (for talking to him?).
Azize summons Mahmoud and tells him to call his men. She wants to know what everyone is doing, and especially where Miran is and what he is doing. "No one must know that I'm coming back."
Alas, Miran is where Azize would like him to be, at the cemetary, talking to his mother's grave. He tells her he cursed the day Hazar took her from him, "but then I fell in love with his daughter. It seems I won't have her for long, either. Does love always hurt so much, Mama? How will I be able to return this ring to her finger? If we don't know the truth, what am I to do?" He gets up, and there is HAG. They hug. He tells her not to leave, not to leave him alone. HAG tells him that the best part of leaving is coming back and embracing loved ones. She adds, "I made a big mistake. If I have to beg Reyyan's forgiveness, I will" (Liar, liar, pants on fire). Miran informs her, "Reyyan went away, abuela."
Back at the hospital, the doctor comes out to confront Hurricane Sadoglu (thanks, VVS). He informs them that Hazar's heart had stopped, but he's struggling for his life. He adds that there's no need to wait around. GT doesn't want to leave. "My son needs me," a delusional Nasuh says. A few minutes later, he sees Reyyan trying to comfort her mother. He starts in again, blaming Reyyan. He tries to hit her, and it takes Azat, Cihan, and some others to hold him back. He tells her for the hundredth time to leave. Reyyan tells GT that she didn't call her father, she had no idea he was coming to the house. Cihan, still apparently trying to curry favor with dear old dad, tells Reyyan, "Miran came to our house. Was it so hard to anticipate, Reyyan? You put Hazar in danger for the sake of a man who swore to end his life. Leave, Reyyan. Get out of here." Suddenly Zehra speaks up: "Reyyan isn't going anywhere. She has cut her ties to him and his family. Reyyan will divorce Miran!" We see a slight smirk on Yaren's face.
Hercai: Amor y venganza - #60 - p 3 de 4
HAG returns to the Aslanbey mansion. She looks at the staircase, but I'm not sure what if anything she sees. She then enters Esma's room. Esma is stunned and nervous. "You don't seem happy to see me," says HAG. "Why are you up so late? Think carefully about your answer. Have you forgotten how cunning I am?" HAG then asks what happened. Esma says that they didn't see what happened. HAG asks why Hazar was here in the middle of the night? Esma says she doesn't know. No one knows. HAG then reminds Esma, "Your duty was to call me. Why didn't you?" Esma said she was going to, but everything happened so quickly. As HAG is about to leave, Esma adds, "Something bad happened...Elif."
HAG enters Elif's room. Elif is still in bed. "Are you OK? Did you see what happened to Hazar? Is that why you're so afraid? Tell Grandma what happened." Elif says nothing. HAG continues, "I know I've hurt you, Elif. I made a mistake. But I came back. In spite of everything. How could I leave you alone, princess? I couldn't." "In spite of everything, abuela?" says Elif. HAG asks, "Are you like this because of Hazar's fall or is it my fault?" Elif replies, "So many bad things have happened. You, my cousin, Reyyan...." Elif and Azize hug, as Elif sobs.
Miran again encounters Firat and tells him to go home. Someone there must be worried. Miran then asks, "How can I get them to stop blaming me?" Firat replies, "Believe me, Reyyan loves you, but she's hurting right now. Have patience (not a word in Miran's vocabulary). She'll understand that you didn't do anything." Miran points out that they have to find out who was responsible for what happened to Hazar. Miran assumes it was a member of the family. Firat is not so sure. Perhaps Hazar simply had an accident. Miran replies, "What if someone pushed him?" "Who would do such a thing?" asks Firat. "I don't know," says Miran, but I'll find out."
The doctor again confronts the Sadoglu Hurricane. He tells them that Hazar is in critical condition. They won't really know the extent of the damage until he wakes up. Cihan wants to know whether there has been any permanent damage. The doctor says that in cases of spinal fracture, all they can do is wait. His heart stopped, but it's not clear whether there is brain damage. GT is not pleased with what he hears. In typical GT fashion, he lashes out at Hazar's medical care. "You're all inept! You've handicapped my son! I'll take him elsewhere." The doctor says that they're within their rights to do so, but he doesn't advise moving Hazar right now. GT tells Cihan to call Istanbul. Suddenly Zehra speaks up. "No one moves him from this hospital! I'm his wife. Only I can make that decision." We then see Miran speaking with the doctor in his office, away from everyone else. The doctor tells Miran, "It will be a miracle for him to live." Miran replies, "I believe in miracles. I have no other option."
Hercai: Amor y venganza - #60 - p 4 de 4
Zehra somehow persuaded the doctor to let her see her husband (perhaps it was in gratitude for her support not to move Hazar). FF>>
Reyyan again encounters Miran in the hospital. She again asks him to leave. Just then, one of the staff present when Miran gave blood sees him and asks "Mr. Mesut" how he's feeling. "Mr. Mesut?" asks Reyyan. "Yes," she's told, "Mr. Mesut was the person who donated blood for your father." The lab technician leaves. Reyyan is stunned at what she's learned. "You wanted to kill him, but you saved him. I don't understand." Miran tells her, "I only lied to you once, and I regret that every day. I didn't hurt your father. I don't want to see you suffer."
The doctor appears, and Reyyan introduces herself and asks whether she can see her father. She has something very important to tell him. The doctor says Hazar won't be able to hear her. She says she's sure he'll hear her, and she will make him feel better. The doctor is adamant; seeing him would be counterproductive. Reyyan is devastated. "What if I can't get to tell him what I have to say?" She paces up and down in frustration, repeating "I can't see him! I can't see him!" Miran walks some distance from her, takes out his phone, and makes a call. Miran identifies himself and says, "I am calling from your hospital, and I'd like to ask a favor. My wife's father has had a bad accident and is here...." We don't learn what the outcome of the phone call is.
We next see that Reyyan is called to the desk to take receipt of Hazar's clothes and possessions. They are neatly wrapped. She simply has to sign for them. She seems somewhat flustered. Miran offers to take them. We do get a quick look, and then another quick look, at the package. I'm hoping that the writers are not playing tricks on us, because the package seems to contain something that looks very much like the paper Dilsah's letter was written on. End of episode.
You really outdid yourself on this terrific recap Juanita! So much detail from the most worthwhile conversations and your commentary about HAG, GT, Yaren, Zehra and Firat were spot on! Totally fine with the Zehra FF.
At least we learned what happened to Elif, her parents and Sultana’s husband. I don’t think Sultana would have had time to pull him out of that burning car, so she can’t be held responsible for his death. I do think Elif remembers what happened though. Sultana is lucky Elif is a kind soul who probably would not tell anyone what she remembers, as HAG would certainly have preferred Sultana blowing up as well, trying to save HAG’s abusive son. It still doesn’t really explain Elif’s condition. Hopefully it is temporary and she gets some help.
Miran is always ready for fight with every conversation. I was surprised he managed to keep calm while Zehra slapped him and said Reyyan was getting divorced from him. Reyyan learning that he actually saved Hazar with his blood donation and his call to the hospital CEO to get Reyyan authorization to see Hazar will most likely pan out and help pull Miran out of the trash with her.
Ugh, HAG. This woman is formidable for sure. (Liar, liar, pants on fire) is an understatement. I hope she was genuine when she talked to Elif and hugged her. But she did the same with Miran. He just seems like an abused child, especially in the scene with HAG in the cemetery. As we have said before, it is going to be long road ahead to deprogram him from this abuse.
I think I saw the letter too Juanita, sticking out slightly from the jacket pocket in that package. Let’s hope so. I also hope we can move on from the hospital drama for tonight’s episode.
Thanks again Juanita! Excellent recap!
I miss a lot of the dialogue because of how quickly they speak, but I am still watching it. LindaK
I miss a lot of the dialogue because of how quickly they speak, but I am still watching it. LindaK
Thanks VERY much, VVS, for your very interesting and supportive comments. You raise a good point about Sultana's probably not having time to save the guy who calls to her for help. Two things about that scene really chilled me (if one can say that a scene involving fire "chills" someone). One was how calm Sultana was when she walked away from the car and the person screaming for help. Of course, if someone had done to me what he apparently had done to her, I might calmly walk away, too. The other thing, though, is that Elif witnessed the guy trapped in the car, his calling for help, and the car exploding in flames. I can easily believe that a child witnessing that (and witnessing too Sultana's refusal to help) could be mentally scarred for life.
As for HAG, I too would like to think that she genuinely feels warmth and concern for Elif. (I don't say "love" because I don't believe HAG really loves anyone.) However, as you point out, she acts much the same way toward Miran, and we've already seen that she cares for him only as long as he's doing what she wants. Moreover, her knowing that he's really Hazar's son, not Mehmet's, diminishes her concern for him. Whether her feelings for Elif are very different, we don't yet know. We do know that she's willing to tolerate opposition from Elif that she'd be unlikely to tolerate from anyone else. Would she have ordered someone to shoot into a house where Elif was even if there was a possibility that Elif could be wounded or killed? We don't know.
Thanks very much, VVS, for confirming that Dilsah's letter did seem to be in the package that Reyyan was offered and that Miran has offered to accept for her. You could have a very interesting episode to recap tonight! Here's hoping!
Such a fine recap, Juanita! Terrific descriptions of the actual dialog! I loved all your asides including: liar, liar, pants on fire. But I think everyone in Midyat would faint if Azize ever wore pants!
Hysterical Zehra actually pulled the ring off Reyyan's finger and threw it in Miran's general direction. As usual, the actor portraying Zehra just annoys me, rather than eliciting the appropriate sympathetic response.
I am unable to imagine a scenario where GT is ever kind to Reyyan in the very last episode, but unless they kill him off, it would have to happen.
I had a moment of wondering whether Sultana would smother Elif with one of those pillows to prevent her ever telling HAG about her leaving Ahmed to burn up in the car. The whole flashback scene was rather weird. Were Elif's parents somehow thrown 15 yards away, landing neatly on their backs? While Ahmed was trapped in the front seat? Or are we to assume that Elif saw Sultana drag out two corpses and leave her living husband in the car?
Good point, VVS, about Sultana's risking losing her life if she went to pull hubby out. But I think the writers meant that she could have done so and preferred getting her freedom.
Yep, despicable smirk from Yaren about Zehra saying Reyyan was getting a divorce.
I am SO grateful for recaps. I did NOT see anything but clothing in those "personal effects" that Miran took from the nurse. Weird that Miran took them instead of Reyyan, not waiting for Reyyan to react. Not sure how or if his possession would be at all likely to result in his reading his mother's letter. Please don't let him take them to Casa Aslanbey and have HAG get her hands on them.
Juanita, thank you For capturing every detail.
That flashback of the car accident was an interesting bit of information . Now we know what Elif witnessed .
Rey has to look at that handsome, tormented face and believe him . He looks like an image on an ancient urn.
OT...Dondi...I am on episode #78 of KPA...wow. How much more will galan Omer have to suffer?. This show is so well done and the characters are so well crafted. I didn't like the legitimate half brother in Imperios, but I like big, old Mert.
LindaK, I absolutely use Spanish captions to watch Cafe. They speak rapidly, talk over one another, and some have heavy Colombian accents. Not to mention Levy being a mumbler of nearly all his lines.
Sorry I’m so late. Thanks for a super recap, Juanita. I don’t have much to add to the great comments.
It didn’t matter if Sultana had time or not, there was no way she was going to help Ahmed. She’s lucky he didn’t survive. That would have signed her death warrant. What a trauma for a very young Elif.
ITA, Zehra is very irritating and is FF>> material.
Juanita, I don’t need a reminder to hiss at Yaren, but your reminders always give me a chuckle.
I think I noticed the letter, too.
dondi356
KPA #78 and I think both Omer and Elif are suffering. Their happy moments are fleeting, so enjoy them. Mert is a likeable doofus and he’s got the worst father ever. Huseyin is trying to save his own ass and save Omer’s at the same time. And how about that very strange relationship between Nilufer and Fatih? There’s still 86 exciting episodes to go.
dondi356
Jaunita ENJOYED THE RECAP. IT KIND OF FRUSTRATING WITH MORAN AND AZAT
HAVING THOSE TEMPER TANTRUMS. DON'T
LIKE MIRANS VOICE WHEN HE GETS SO ANGRY. HIS HITS A FEVER PITCH AND HE ALMOST SRARTS TO squeak.
Hopefully no squeaking to night.
The first thing monopoly guy does is grabs reyyon hair. I was so glad to see her hand go up and stop that slap. Shes gotten brave since she got married. Finally she tells them it's not her fault. Bout damn time.
I would love to see someone slap that smug off yaren's face. Can't stand that bitch.
Miran needs to start lookin for some truth and stop letting the hag
Screw him over. Somebody find the truth. Please.
Thank you jaunita.
Loved your recap Juanita! I didn’t get to watch all of the episode, but your recap brought everything to life! I could see all these characters expressions and actions as you describe every detail. I caught Sultana’s look of downright “ you gonna die!” to her husband, and I’m gonna be so relieved to have you gone! Can’t say I blame her too much by the apparent cruel way he treated her. But I still wonder about Gonul. Just how much does she know???
Everything will unfold in it’s time I guess......
Thanks for the excellent recap!
Jaunita. Think that nurse may have cut that letter when she was cut hazar out of that suit. Not by much but she did cut the fold. Oh what's gonna become of that letter?
AND I'm sorry zehra, no devorce. He needs to rescue reyyon cuz grumpy
Grandpa gonna be grabbing her hair and trying to slap her. Yet again. I like to see somebody slap him.
Thanks very much, novelera, Susanlynn, dondi356, Nina, and carmella, for your wonderful comments. Sorry I'm so late in acknowledging them. I realize tonight's episode has already aired on the East Coast (I'm on the West Coast, and I just finished dinner. :-) )
Novelera, I totally failed to see that Hysterical Zehra pulled the ring from Reyyan's hand. Thanks very much for pointing that out. And I think you and I have a similar response to Zehra.
Susanlynn, yes, I agree. Elif has been something of a mystery until now. In many respects, she still is, but the flashback gave us a good deal of useful information.
dondi356, thanks for your remark about Zehra and your vote of confidence re the FF>>.
Nina, I'll join you in cheering if someone finally slaps Yaren and Grandpa. They both deserve that and worse. And I wondered about whether the nurse actually cut part of the letter. She was certainly very close with the scissors. And if she did cut part of it, I hope enough of it remains to help Hazar.
Carmella, good question about Gonul. We know more about her than we did about Elif, but in many ways Gonul is still a mystery.
Again, many thanks to all.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #61
Part 1 of 4
But First:
Scenes cut from Episode #60:
Reyyan is sitting alone on the bench outside the hospital while Miran is inside talking to the doctor. Yaren (hissss, thanks Juanita) comes outside and proceeds to be her evil, awful self, telling Reyyan how embarrassed she would be if her husband was the mortal enemy of the family and how grateful she is that GT “gave” Reyyan to Miran, so she was spared. You all get the picture. Reyyan tells her, why are you so mean and awful? Yaren says, I am nice, I am here to give you the news that your father is out of surgery and may never walk again. Yaren flounces off. Reyyan starts crying and then runs back into the hospital and wants to see her father. This explains why she was standing outside the doctor’s office when Miran comes out.
At the CH, Gul is inconsolable, demanding to know where her parent are. Handan proceeds to gaslight her that everything is okay and nothing is wrong. Melike tries to get Gul to go to sleep so she will be rested the next morning to go outside and ride her “wall” bike.
On to Episode #61
Miran offers to handle the bag with Hazar’s belongings, but Reyyan quickly recovers and takes the bag, signing the release. For a few moments, both stare at the bag, as we stare at the letter, that is clear visible through the plastic.
A nurse comes by with a sterile bag of scrubs and tells Reyyan that she can see her father for 5 minutes. Reyyan looks at Miran, realizing that he is responsible for ensuring she can get in to see Hazar. He looks a bit sheepish and tells her to go see her dad and say nice, positive things. I will hold on to his belongings, you go and change, he says, taking the bag from her hands. Reyyan heads off with the nurse to ICU. The other nurse, asks Miran to make sure all of Hazar’s belongings are there. Without opening the bag, Miran does a cursory look, as we see the letter even more clearly, telling the nurse that is all appears to be there. (If he only knew and really checked!!).
Dressed in scrubs, Reyyan enters the ICU room. She tells Hazar, you are not in the room papa. She visualizes him in a happy place. She thinks about the big tree she and Miran sat under a few nights ago and what Hazar told her about always having hope. Reyyan asks Hazar, what does hope look like? She remembers him saying that hope is like a huge tree that has its roots deep in rocks on a hillside and grows despite the odds. Reyyan thinks, please remember this spot, papa because Miran gave you his own blood so you can live. We can return to this place of hope. I want to believe Miran, papa. She envisions kissing her father under the Tree of Hope and seeing him well and happy. Waving to the intubated Hazar, she tells him that he will survive and will get better. She leaves the ICU. (BTW, didn’t they operate on his back? Why is lying on the surgery wound?).
Cihan leaves the hospital for fresh air and seeing a young boy carrying his brother on his back, he remembers the kindness Hazar showed him as children when Cihan fell and skinned his knee. Hazar carried him on his back all the way home.
Outside the hospital, Azat finds Cihan bawling like a baby on the bench. Initially, he tries to walk away, but then hears Cihan beg Hazar not to leave him. It is a pity party for Cihan, with Azat telling him that regardless of what Cihan said to his Uncle, Hazar will get well and hug him, forgetting everything that was said. Cihan is pitiful in asking Azat if he loves him as much as his Uncle? Azat says nice thing and confirms that he does. They hug and go back inside.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #59
Part 2 of 4
Zehra comes back to the hallway after seeing Hazar and gives a report of his unchanged condition. Yaren says something snarky about Reyyan not being around but that she is. Cihan tells Azat to take his sister out for some air after seeing the murderous look from Zehra to Yaren. The nurse finds Zehra because she forgot her purse in the ICU and reminds her to rest to keep herself strong for her health and that of the baby. Cara impactados for Nasuh and Cihan. Zehra confirms that she is pregnant. GT is thrilled, claiming it is a good sign and willing Hazar to survive to see his new baby be born.
Walking outside of the hospital, ReyMir head back to the bench after Reyyan's visit with Hazar. Miran carries the bag with Hazar’s personal belongings. He places it on the bench between them. Reyyan touches the bag gently. Sadly, Miran asks, just a few days ago, your eyes were full of hope, how did everything change so dramatically in such a short period of time? Reyyan talks about how strong fathers are and her papa is strong and how he always was there for her, a pillar and mountain. She also remembers hearing once that a child remains a child until their father dies, then they are forced to grow up. She says, I don’t want to grow up Miran. Sadly, Miran responds saying, I grew up very early then. Both sit silently, crying.
At the CH, Gul is beside herself crying for her parents. Melike and the team continue to try and comfort her as Handan continues to lie to her.
Back on the hospital bench, Miran says, I know this is difficult watching your father fight for his life, but I also know we are fighting for our love as well. Please know that I did not hurt your father. Let me sit here calmly and explain what happened. It won’t matter what you say Miran, she responds, as long as you have vengeance in your heart we will always be confronting each other face to face and not walking side by side. Miran gently covers her hand with his.
Of course, out of the hospital walks Yaren (hiss) and Azat. Yaren is first to see the lovebirds and tells Azat it is disgraceful, wasn’t Reyyan going to divorce him, what a liar, she spits. Azat immediately confronts Miran, accusing him of coming back to finish off Hazar. The two rosters (thank you novelera) start the fight, with Azat taking the first swing at Miran. Firat emerges from the shadows and breaks it up, with Reyyan yelling at both of them to stop fighting, her father is inside fighting for his life.
They break apart and of course Yaren moves in to spout her vile comments to Reyyan about holding hands and thinking about love while her father is inside fighting for his life. Reyyan tells her to shut her pie hole. Azat tells Reyyan that she was going to divorce this guy and now they are back together again? Miran and he go at it again, Firat has to break them up, again. Firat motions with his eyes to Yaren, who quickly tells Azat to move away from Miran and go back inside. Just then, Reyyan gets a call from Melike. Gul is not well.
Reyyan tells her she will be right there. Miran insists on taking Reyyan to the CH. Cihan watches from the entrance of the hospital as Reyyan and Miran walk away from the bench. Firat gives Azat a dirty look and moves away. The camera pans down to the bag with Hazar’s belongings. Reyyan has forgotten the bag on the bench in all the ruckus. The letter is predominately poking out of the jacket pocket.
Slowly, someone slides the bag off the bench. Ten seconds pass (yes, I timed it) and the bag is placed back on the bench WITHOUT the letter in the pocket. (3 guesses who took the letter and the first two don’t count). Ugh! It has to be Yaren, or could it be Cihan? It can’t be Azat. Could it be Firat? Or maybe Esma came to the hospital without anyone knowing? Please let it be Esma!
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #59
Part 3 of 4
Miran drops off Reyyan at the CH. She looks miserable. Miran tells her to yell at him, hit him, show her anger, but please don’t stop believing in him. She says nothing. He wants to go in and help her with Gul, saying, both of you love me, maybe I can help. Reyyan isn’t falling for his lame attempt at humor. Miran says, your father will be fine. If he says fathers always stay strong for their children, I believe that coming from him. Reyyan thanks him for giving blood and for finding a way for her to see her papa. She walks away. Miran calls to her saying, please say something, don’t leave me like this, please tell me there is hope? Reyyan says, I don’t feel that hope Miran. She walks slowly to the house, crying.
Gul is happy to see Reyyan. She says that everyone is lying to her. Reyyan tells her that Hazar is sick and is in the hospital. Zehra is with him, but she came running when she heard Gul was crying. Gul wants to see her dad and take him a balloon because that is what he did when she was in the hospital but Reyyan explains that he is sleeping now because of the medicine they gave him. Gul asks for Miran, she wanted to see him too. Reyyan does lie and says he is out of town working. Gul tells her not to leave, to stay with her so they can sleep together. Reyyan agrees and puts her to bed.
Night turns to day and Miran is out riding his beautiful white horse through the lovely Turkish countryside. He is remembering all the accusations from Reyyan, he yells, I didn’t do it! I didn’t want it to be this way. Riding on to the bridge, he remembers the conversation with Reyyan just that morning, where he told her that he has no home but her and his vision gets dark with only gray when he is away from her, like the way it was before he met her. He remembers the fabulous kiss…
Back to reality, he also remembers her comments from the night before, that she does not have that hope anymore and if her father dies, she and Miran’s love will die. Miran says, I won’t give up on us Reyyan! He makes a call, but there is no answer, angrily he tosses his phone down and yells to the heavens, Hazar Sadoglu will not die! I will not lose you Reyyan!
Reyyan is on the phone with Zehra giving her an update on Gul. Melike comes into the room with the good news that they are moving back to the konak that day. Gul is excited and says, I knew Miran would get our house back! Reyyan starts to get her dressed so they can help Melike pack.
Outside in the gazebo, Handan and Azat are talking. Handan asks if they are sure it was Miran who pushed Hazar, what if he just fell down? Azat is positive it was Miran since he had just threatened to kill him that day in their own front yard. The whole conversation goes down the path of Azat marrying Elif, but Azat doesn’t want to do that with Hazar in the hospital.
Yaren interrupts the conversation and is now privy to the plan/plot. She tells Azat to marry Elif and forget about Reyyan. You all get the drift of the conversation. Blah, blah. Azat leaves for the hospital. Yaren tells Handan that she can solve this marriage thing with just one call. She calls Sultana and schedules a time to meet. Handan is worried because no one in that family can be trusted. Yaren says she has it covered. the Aslanbey should fear her.
Poor Reyyan tries to leave back to the hospital, but is accosted by these two harpies (another novelera thank you). Nothing nice is said and Reyyan tells them to shut their pie holes (again Yaren) and kiss her como se llama.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #61
Part 4 of 4
At the Aslanbey konak breakfast is served with Gonul sitting alone at the table. Sultana arrives, as Firat enters through the front door and heads to the kitchen. They both look at the spot at the bottom of the stairs where Hazar fell. Gonul wants to know what is going on and thinks they should call HAG to inform her of everything. Sultana is having none of that and promptly makes herself cozy in the head of house chair at the head of the table. Gonul tells her that chair belongs to HAG. Not anymore, says Sultana. Taking a grape and popping into her mouth, she says, Azize always told me to know my place, well this is my place.
Is that what I said? says HAG. Sultana proceeds to choke on the grape, shocked by HAG’s appearance. When I said, know your place Sultana, I meant, know your place and she indicates, with a nod, to move out of her chair. (This is kind of funny). Gonul asks when she arrived. HAG says at sunrise, I couldn’t leave my family after hearing what happened. She then proceeds to scold both of them for not calling her and letting her know.
Sultana tries to change the subject by saying, if HAG came back to win over Miran again, she is too late. He has been consorting with the enemy all night long. Miran arrives at that moment. Sultana says, look Miran, your grandmother has graced us with her presence again. Sarcastically, Miran says, I am aware Aunt, we have already spoken. Miran asks for Elif. She is still in her room as the events from the night before really frightened her. Miran then tells them he wants to know where everyone was and what they were doing when Hazar was in the konak. Sultana is insulted and asks Miran where he was. Miran says, in the kitchen.
HAG jumps in to support Miran’s line of questioning because it is important to know the facts. Looking at Gonul, Sultana lies and says, after the fight Miran had with Firat, I went to Gonul’s room and stayed there. Gonul is clearly surprised by this, but says, yes, that is what happened. Miran yells for the front guard to gather all the men for questioning. (Two words for you Miran: “Security Cameras” get some).
In the kitchen, Firat questions Esma about her meeting with Hazar. Did it have anything to do with Hazar coming to the konak in the middle of the night? Esma says he only wanted my help protecting Reyyan, she has no idea why he was there. (Esma is a very credible liar).
As Firat starts to open the door to leave the kitchen, Miran enters. He asks, Nana Esma, what happened here last night? The episode ends on Esma’s poker face.
Hi All! This is the recap for episode #61 with two cut scenes from episode #60. I forgot to change two of the headers before posting so don’t be confused with the two labeled #59. It was a long day!
I can’t wait to get everyone’s take on who took the letter! 😊
Hello, HERC patio!!! I know I've been a stranger, but I have been dropping in to read the recaps and comments of the episodes I am wa-a-a-y behind on. Thank you to all the wonderful stalwarts who keep on providing so much detail...and the snark makes the recaps so much more entertaining!! Mil gracias!!!
OT-Technical Issue
I have been getting some HERC/Telemundo comments in the Spam folder. I'm not sure what is going on with Blogger, but if your comments don't appear, that may be where they have gone and I need to approve them before they are posted. As a precaution, I would advise that you write your comments on a Word doc or some type of Notepad so that if they "disappear," you can save yourself from trying to remember what you wrote.
Another wonderful recap, VVS! You keep cranking them out. Love the asides. And thank you for the missing scenes. They are very helpful. ps. You saved me time because I tend to check the Turkish eps.
They needed better medical consultants for this dizi. Did they think we wouldn’t notice?
The letter. Who else knows about this letter besides Esma and Hazar? Dilsah wrote it, but she’s dead. I would love it if Esma came to the hospital. Ha, ha, would she sneak out in her burqa? Firat is suspect because he knew his mother met Hazar. Does Azize know this letter exists? She told Mahmud they had to keep an eye on everyone, especially Miran. Did an Azize henchie take it? Yaren could have taken it because she is an evil snoop.
I LOL’d when Miran threw his phone off the bridge and shouted.
Sultana choking was funny, too.
Agree: “(Two words for you Miran: “Security Cameras” get some).”
“(Esma is a very credible liar)” But I’m not sure that Firat easily believes her. He seems to fall for Yaren’s lies, though.
Thanks again, VVS.

Sergio Sendel on Univision made a career out of throwing his cellphones during his epic hissyfits . However , I don't think that he ever threw one into the river. Miran has to get those anger issues under control.
Flashback to the kiss on the bridge was the only bright spot.
It was funny how long we got to stare at that bench until the package of Hazar's clothes minus the letter was put back. I was wondering if I had time to get a snack.
Gul is a living doll . Only the coldest hearts would not melt seeing her cry....and there are a bunch of those around her. So glad Rey came to comfort her.
Cobalt blue is Azize's color .
Nice to see you, even briefly, Rgv Chick! Glad you are still following along and thank you for the Blogger tip!
dondi356, I also thought that maybe it was one of Azize’s minions, but my bet today is Yaren. I did not notice that Miran tossed is phone off the bridge, I thought he just tossed it to the ground, good eyes!
I think Firat is blinded by his attraction to Yaren to see through her façade. He did it once, hopefully he can do it again, although the way he has been acting lately, maybe he deserves her.
Susanlynn, you also have good eyes and saw the phone Miran tossed off the bridge. I had to go back and watch that part again.
Gul is adorable, I felt like crying along with her. The young actor is terrific!
Crying, lying and trying episode for sure! Thanks for the great comments!
Wow! You've offered yet another superb recap, VVS! Many, many thanks.
I'm actually glad I didn't see the longer Turkish version of the episode I recapped. I would have been so angry with Yaren (HISSSSSSSSSSS!) that I might not have been able to write a coherent account. And as for Gul, I confess that though she is adorable and the child playing her is doing an excellent job, I'm no longer as sympathetic as I was. Though I usually agree with Susanlynn, when she writes that "Only the coldest hearts would not melt seeing her cry," I'm afraid I disagree. Gul's crying and whining and demanding are beginning to seem exessive. So I'm grateful that Telemundo cut out part of the scene involving her.
I was moved by Cihan's remembering how big brother Hazar carried him on his back after he fell and hurt his knee. I haven't had much use for Cihan. When he's not shown as plotting against Hazar, he's shown as emotionally very needy. But last night's flashback seems to indicate that he'll be redeemed at the end.
Brava to Reyyan for telling Miran "It won’t matter what you say Miran; as long as you have vengeance in your heart we will always be confronting each other face to face and not walking side by side." What will it take for Miran to realize that she's right AND to give up his venganza?
I loved the scene where Sultana sits in Azize's seat and--oops, Azize is back. Azize has shown herself to be disconcertingly acute in reading other people. My guess is that she must have noticed how surprised Gonul was when Sultana lied and said she was with Gonul. As is often the case, Azize didn't say anything. Perhaps she will question Gonul privately.
And yes: "(Two words for you Miran: “Security Cameras” get some)." Good point!
As for the BIG QUESTION: I'm quite mystified as to who took the clothes packet and then returned it, without the letter. Though I too would love it to have been Esma, I don't think Esma was present at the hospital. And I doubt it was Cihan. Ditto Azat. So of the likely suspects, I'm leaning toward Yaren (HISS) or Firat. But why would either of them be all that curious about a package containing Hazar's clothes and personal effects? I think Yaren is nosier than Firat, and more likely to cause trouble, so my guess is Yaren. (Given my track record, that almost certainly means it's NOT Yaren!)
Thank you for the comments, Juanita! You didn’t miss anything not watching the Turkish version. I am glad you brought up the memory that Cihan had about his childhood interaction with Hazar. This scene was not in the Turkish version and caught me by surprise, so I didn’t really do the dynamics between the brother’s justice in the recap.
Say what we want about Azize, but she definitely is finely tuned into the subtle dynamics and expression of others.
I plan on keeping the Yaren (Hiss) for those extra special Yaren moments moving forward! I like it! 😊 I am not sure if is was Yaren who took the letter, the more I thought about it today, she didn’t really seem guilty at all the next day in the gazebo talking to Azat and Handan. We will just have to wait and see.
I’ve had a wretched work schedule these past couple of days, so I will be catching up on both recaps and episodes this weekend. Looking forward to your recap VVS! I’m certain it’s good! 😁💯
Thanks for popping in carmella, even with a crazy work week! Hope you can enjoy the episodes you missed and can join us back with your great comments.
