ECDLP #118

PART ONE

- Brigida calls Rebeca out saying that she let her into her home and that’s how Rebeca repays her. If Amador dared to kiss Rebeca she must’ve given him a reason to. Brigida tells Rebeca to get out of her house. Brigida repeats what Rebeca told her once: they were never friends. Rebeca leaves. Amador says that there’s an explanation for what just happened. Brigida says she was stupid to believe him. Rodrigo had warned her but she didn’t listen. Amador maintains that he’s not interested in Rebeca and that there’s problems in the factory that he’s trying to solve. Brigida doesn’t care. He tells her to calm down and they’ll talk later. She tells him to get his stuff and leave.

- Lucia finds Nora with her suitcases ready to leave. Nora tells her that she’s leaving with Rebeca. She won’t wait around for Lucia to decide to turn her into the police. Lucia tells her that if she goes, Rebeca will destroy her. Lucia blurts out that Rebeca is a murderer. She killed Adriana to usurp her. Adriana didn’t fall off the railing by accident, Rebeca pushed her. Therefore she won’t let Rebeca back in the house. Nora says it isn’t true and Lucia tells her that there was a witness. Nora leaves anyway.

- Rafaela apologizes to Marcelo for not telling him the true about his father's death earlier. Marcelo can’t forgive Milagros and Rafaela won’t force him to.

- Magdalena brings up the topic of adoption with Mario again. He refuses saying he wants a child that’s their own not somebody else’s. Magdalena walks away angry.

- Rebeca goes to the factory and asks Normita to get money from the petty cash box and to pay her taxi outside. She tells her not to disturb her or pass any calls to her office.

- Nora goes to Casa Zúñiga and Brigida tells her that Rebeca isn’t there. She caught her kissing Amador and doesn’t want anything to do with Rebeca or her family.
 

ECDLP #118

PART TWO

- Rebeca calls Nora to tell her that she’s at the factory. Nora rushes over there.

- Lucia tells Magdalena what she revealed to Nora. She reveals that Rebeca was with Alonso the night he died but she didn’t tell Nora that. Magdalena is shocked. Lucia says she has proof that Alonso confronted Rebeca that night. Lucia is worried how Nora will react. She hopes that when Nora finds out it doesn’t destroy her.

- Nora confronts Rebeca telling her to swear that she had nothing to do with the death of Lucia’s mother. Rebeca tries to say whoever told her that is lying. Rebeca swears it was an accident. Rebeca says Nora did the same thing to Ricardo but Nora says it’s not. Ric was nothing to Nora whereas Adriana was Rebeca’s sister. Rebeca asks if Nora herself knows the meaning of the word “sister”. Nora says that Rebeca taught her to hate Lucia just as Rebeca surely hated Adriana and still hates Magdalena. Nora has done the same but the difference is that Rebeca killed Adriana to steal her husband from her. Nora says she doesn’t know how to process everything she’s finding out about Rebeca. First Marcelo’s brother, now this…what more? Rebeca says they can go away together but Nora refuses saying she prefers to be in jail. She runs out.

- Marcelo asks Normita what’s going on. He sees Rebeca crying in her office and concludes that Nora found out about Adriana. Rebeca tells him to leave her alone. He says that finally she’s paying for her mistakes. Rebeca says it must bring him pleasure to see her like that. He says no, that he feels sorry for her. But she’s reaping what she sowed. Rebeca says she still has strength to destroy him and Lucia. Marcelo tells her that he sent her an email with information about Amador.

- Brigida is at the police station to formally accuse Amador of killing Ligia. She overheard a conversation between Amador and Ricardo about the murder. The detective needs more proof to be able to arrest Amador. The other detective informs the head detective that they caught Vinicio. Vini says he didn’t do anything. The detective tells him that he’s accused of killing Trini, assaulting Marcelo and raping Teresa.

- Alfredo picks up the lab results for himself and Daniela. He opens the envelope with the paternity test results.

- Rebeca asks Normita for keys to one of the company cars. Normita doesn’t want to leave her by herself as there’s no night guard.

- Lalo hopes Amador won’t return to the factory. He thinks Rebeca will find a way to let Amador return. Marcelo says that Rebeca has bigger issues to deal with. Nazario offers to take Normita home but she refuses. Marcelo notes that Normita is in a bad mood. Nazario calls himself a brute saying he doesn’t know how to deal with women.

- Lucia asks Nora if she talked to Rebeca. Nora says that Rebeca didn’t deny anything but claims it was an accident. Lucia says that Nora needed to know. Nora knows she’s done horrible things to Lucia but she would never do anything like what Rebeca did to her aunt Adriana. When she shot Lucia she felt really bad about it. Nora says that ever since she was born she was taught to hate Lucia and now she doesn’t know how to love her. Lucia says it’s not too late try. They’re sisters and their dad would’ve loved to see them united. Nora is sure that Alonso died disappointed in her. Lucia says their dad loved them both. Nora asks if Lucia thinks their dad would’ve wanted her to turn herself in. Lucia doesn’t know but he would’ve done the right thing to have Nora face what she did. Nora is afraid that no one will believe her. Lucia suggests that they talk to Mario. Nora will think about it.

 

ECDLP #118

PART THREE

- Amador is at the house drunk when Brigida returns and she tells him again that she doesn’t want him there. He tells her that it’s his house so he’s staying and doesn’t let her leave either. He says that if he goes down, she’ll go down with him.

- The detective questions Vinicio. He knows that Amador and Vinicio know each other. The detective warns him not to lie/leave out information otherwise he’ll be the only one to pay for the crimes he’s accused of.

- The test results confirm Daniela is pregnant. She still wants to end her pregnancy. Alfredo asks if she really doesn’t have any ounce of maternal instinct. He tells her to think about it. He says he’s going out of town but wants to continue the conversation when he returns. He calls Rebeca and leaves a voicemail saying the paternity test came back positive and that he’s going to Puebla the next day. Daniela debates calling Rodrigo but doesn’t.

- The head detective tells Rodrigo that there’s a new suspect in Ligia’s murder but obviously they can’t tell him who it is.

- Lucia texts Roman asking him to call or go see Nora because she needs help.

- Mario apologizes to Magdalena but she says that he made it clear that he doesn’t want to adopt so the topic is closed. He feels guilty for being sterile. Mags says it’s not her responsibility. If she was the one who was sterile would he still oppose adoption? He needs more time to process things. She says she won’t divorce him but she’s still upset.

- Marcelo tells Lucia about what he found out about his father's death. He tells her that Nora confronted Rebeca at the factory and tells her about Rebeca’s warning.

- Rebeca is outside the front gate of the house. Nora is on the balcony and they stare at each other before Nora goes back inside.

- The detectives show up at Casa Zúñiga. They have a warrant for Amador’s arrest for other crimes (excluding Ligia’s death). When they go inside Amador is gone.

What the hell is wrong with Mario that it has to be a bio-child?

Amador is as bad a narcissist as Rebecca. The only crime Brigida has ever committed is stupidity, which is nothing one gets arrested for. It should, however, be a barrier to breeding.
 

ECDLP #119

PART ONE

- The detectives tell Brigida that they have testimony from an accomplice of Amador’s that Amador was involved in Trini’s death. Frantic, Brigida calls Rodrigo.

- Marcelo wants to set a wedding date and doesn’t want any problems with Nora to interfere again. Lucia doesn’t want to tell him what’s currently going on with Nora. He’s worried that Rebeca will try something to hurt them and tells Lucia to be careful. He tells her to swear that nothing will come between them again.

- Rebeca checks into a hotel.

- Nazario dreams of Trini encouraging him to find a companion until he joins her in the afterlife. His time on earth isn’t up yet. A little later he goes to Normita’s house to tell her that he’s been a fool and has treated her poorly. Trini is no longer here and he tells Normita that she has many great qualities. He wants to be with her. She is surprised so he tells her to think about it.

- Brigida tells Rodrigo that the cops came to arrest Amador but he escaped. Rodrigo concludes that Amador killed Ligia. Brigida berates herself for believing Amador even just briefly.

- Nora and Lucia are waiting for Mario at a restaurant and Nora is nervous and wants to leave. Mario arrives and is surprised and a bit worried that Lucia called him. Lucia encourages Nora to explain. Nora says that what she needs to say has something to do with Ricardo’s death. She explains that it wasn’t her intention to hurt Ricardo. Mario asks if she touched the wine glass, she is says no. Mario asks her if anyone else knows about what happened. She says yes, the father of Daniela Suarez knows. Lucia is shocked. Nora says Alfredo arrived to the apartment as she was leaving. He called Rebeca to come pick Nora up. Rebeca somehow convinced him to keep quiet.

- Alfredo calls Rebeca again saying he needs to talk to her and it’s urgent.

- Sergio tells Leti that Ricardo left a bank account with money in her name. As his only daughter he made her his beneficiary. Leti doesn’t want to accept the money. Sergio encourages her to consult with Sara. Sergio gets a call that Mario needs to see him at the law firm. When he gets there Mario asks him to pass him all of the information he has on the investigation into Ricardo’s death. Mario tells him not to tell Leti anything.

- Lucia thinks it’s strange that Alfredo agreed to keep quiet. Nora says maybe Rebeca slept with him but Lucia doesn’t think that’s motive enough. Lucia points out that Alfredo keeping quiet makes him Nora’s accomplice. It’ll certainly get him in trouble. Lucia reminds Nora that if her fingerprints aren’t on the wine glass then it can possibly be proven that what happened was an accident. Nora says she still won’t turn herself in. Lucia assures her that everything will be fine. She tells her that she’s going to the factory and will return later.

- Teresa tells Nora that a man named Alfredo Suarez called asking for Rebeca. Teresa also thinks someone was calling Nora’s cell phone. Nora says that she has her phone with her and realizes that it’s Rebeca’s phone. Nora listens to a voicemail on Rebeca’s phone of Alfredo saying the test results were positive. She flashes back to first meeting Alfredo and him telling her that he knows Rebeca and Rebeca denying knowing him. Nora says aloud “No, it can’t be!”
 

ECDLP #119

PART TWO

- Lucia arrives at the factory and asks Normita if Rebeca is there. Normita says no. Normita tells Lucia about Nazario's confession. Lucia tells her that Nazario hasn’t shown up to the factory yet because he’s at the police station with Marcelo. They caught Trini’s murderer.

- Nazario asks Vinicio how much Amador paid him to kill Trini. Vini says it wasn’t his intention to kill her. Nazario swears that both Vini and Amador will pay for what they did.

- Nora goes to see Alfredo and asks him to explain the voicemail he left Rebeca. She wants him to explain the DNA test and wants the truth. She asks him if she’s his daughter and he says yes. She thinks he’s lying. He tells her that Rebeca told him so he decided to do the DNA test to confirm it. He shows Nora the paperwork. She rips it up and says he’s nothing to her and that her father is Alonso Gaxiola. She leaves.

- Rebeca calls the factory and asks if Nora has gone by. Normita says no but that Alfredo Suarez left a message for her.

- Roman thanks Sara for recommending him with the Gaxiolas. He says he made mistakes in treating Nora and getting involved with Lucia. He doesn’t think he’s the right person to treat Nora anymore. He can’t deal with Rebeca. Sara says her relationship with Rebeca isn’t great either. Roman says something needs to be done because Nora is one step closer to the edge.

- Nora is at Alonso’s grave saying she’s his daughter no matter what and will always be.

- Lucia tells Marcelo that she has a premonition that something is wrong at home. He doesn’t want her to go alone as a storm is coming in. She tells him to stay at the factory. When he gets a call from Rafaela, Lucia rushes out. Milagros invites Rafaela to eat out somewhere as a thank you.

- Rebeca arrives to see Alfredo. He tells her that Nora was there. He got the DNA test results. He says he had no choice but to tell Nora the truth. Rebeca goes to leaves. Alfredo thinks Nora will eventually understand the situation but Rebeca doesn’t think so.

- When Lucia arrives home Teresa tells her that Nora went out somewhere then came back home really upset. She tells her that Nora is in Alonso’s study. Lucia finds Nora on the floor crying. Nora says “I’m not his daughter, that’s why he didn’t love me like he loved you.” Lucia asks what Nora is talking about and Nora says she’s not Alonso’s daughter. Nora says Lucia was right: it was strange that Alfredo didn’t turn Nora in. He can’t do it because she is his daughter. He showed her a DNA test. She says her mom lied to her. Her life is a lie. It’s not even true that she and Lucia are sisters. She yells that she hates Rebeca and hopes that Rebeca dies.
 

ECDLP #119

PART THREE

- The storm has started as Rebeca arrives at Casa Gaxiola. Lucia is still comforting Nora when they hear Rebeca yelling Nora’s name. Lucia says she’ll handle it but Nora says she wants to see her mom’s face one last time.

- Nora goes to the foyer with a picture frame of Alonso in her hand and tells Teresa to let Rebeca in. Lucia gives Teresa the okay with a nod. Rebeca pushes past Tere when she opens the door. She comes to a stop in the foyer to find Lucia standing there and giving her a hard stare. She continues to call Nora’s name as Nora finally answers from the sitting room with her back to Rebeca saying “I’m here. What do you want?” Rebeca says they need fo talk, she needs to explain things to Nora. Nora says there’s nothing to explain, everything is clear to her: Rebeca killed her sister to steal her husband but since he never loved her, she got involved with someone else. Rebeca tries to say that things weren’t like that. Nora tells her to stop lying and says Rebeca made Alonso believe she (Nora) was his daughter. Rebeca used her to blackmail Alonso and in some way it worked. Meanwhile Lucia is watching and listening to their conversation. Rebeca says that Alonso loved Nora like a daughter. But now Nora knows she wasn’t his daughter and in some way she suspected it as Alonso didn’t love her like he loved Lucia. Lucia chokes on a sob hearing Nora say this. Nora continues, saying that’s why Alonso always felt guilty with her. Rebeca says that blood doesn’t matter, Alonso loved her like a true father would.

Nora has heard enough and heads towards the stairs saying she never wants to see Rebeca ever again. She tells Rebeca to leave and says that Lucia was right: the house isn’t Rebeca’s and it’s not hers either. Rebeca tries to hug Nora saying “forgive me” but Nora pushes her away yelling “don’t you dare touch me!” Nora runs up the first set of stairs repeating that she doesn’t want anything to do with Rebeca and tells Rebeca to forget that she exists. She runs up to the second floor as Rebeca tells her that nobody will love her (Nora) like she (Rebeca) does. Nora screams that she hates Rebeca. Rebeca says Nora can’t push her away, Rebeca will be with Nora for life. Nora says she doesn’t want to be Rebeca’s daughter anymore.

Nora goes to the spot where Adriana fell over the railing. Lucia rushes to the bottom of the first set of stairs as Nora looks down at her with a sad and guilty expression. Nora climbs over the railing as Lucia rushes up the first set of stairs and Rebeca rushes up to the second level around the other side of the railing from Nora. Both Lucia and Rebeca are yelling at Nora not to do it. Nora spreads her arms, facing backwards before falling. The picture frame shatters as it and Nora’s body hit the floor.

TF: Nora got the Maury Povich bombshell: You're NOT a Gaxiola. I wasn't shocked she went Bippidity, Bippidity SPLAT as she fell to her death.

UA: I hope law enforcement catches both Vini & Crazy Amador ASAP.

Nora's suicide was not a surprise. I must commend the production team for how it was executed on camera (pun intended).

The noir-ish elements of this series have been spectacular and enhanced by the music.

For Lucia and Marcelo to end their relationship would make no sense at all.

On another note, I am surprised that Claudia Alvarez' hair was done in such an unflattering manner as to show how her ears stick out to the side. Or that she didn't have that condition surgically corrected long ago.

The music definitely added to the suspense of Nora’s suicide. And I agree the entire scene was great especially the camera angle when the picture frame shattered on the floor.

Rebeca destroyed the only thing that belonged to her. The line where Nora said she wanted Rebeca to die was pretty powerful.

I noticed that too about Claudia’s ears especially in this episode in the scene where Alfredo told Rebeca that he told nora the truth.
 

ECDLP #120

PART ONE

- Lucia is the first to react going back down the stairs over to where Nora’s body lies. Rebeca tells her to call an ambulance before telling Nora not to leave her. Nora manages to say “Te odio” (I hate you) before blood gushes out of her mouth and she takes her last breath. Rebeca screams and cries before closing Nora’s eyes. Lucia lowers the phone and drops to her knees. The doorbell rings and Teresa goes to answer it. She’s in tears when she lets Marcelo in. Tere tells him that something horrible happened to Nora. Marcelo walks into the foyer to find Rebeca crying over Nora’s body and Lucia weeping on the stairs. He goes over to Lucia and asks her what happened. Lucia says Nora found out something horrible, argued with Rebeca then threw herself over the second floor railing. Marcelo then asks what Nora found out and Lucia replies that Nora isn’t Alonso’s daughter, Alfredo Suarez is Nora’s father. Rebeca looks up and damns Marcelo a thousand times. Marcelo hugs Lucia tight before getting up and walking out of the house. He cries out in the front courtyard of Casa Gaxiola.

- Milagros and Rafaela run into Aída and her friend on their way out of the restaurant. Aída tells her friend that everything already has been said between herself and Milagros. Milagros vents her frustration. Rafaela tells her that if she wants to change she needs to stop blaming others.

- Lucia calls Magdalena to tell her that Nora died. She asks her to come to the house. Rebeca gently wipes the blood from Nora’s mouth and kisses her hand.

- Sergio tells Mario that Amador is Ligia’s murderer. Rodrigo told him but says there’s still no proof and Amador is also responsible for Trini’s death. Unfortunately Amador escaped. Magdalena calls Mario to tell him about Nora. When Mario tells Sergio, Sergio is shocked. Mario knows Sergio once had a relationship with Nora.

- Daniela calls Rodrigo asking him if he can come to the city so they can talk. He says he can’t because he’s going through some family stuff. Daniela says that then it doesn’t matter.

- Magdalena and Mario arrive at the house to find Marcelo outside. Magdalena asks him why he’s not with Lucia. He says he didn’t think it was prudent. He doesn’t think anyone else has been notified so Mario says he’ll handle it. Mario and Magdalena rush into the house and skid to a halt when they see Rebeca hugging Nora’s body. Magdalena runs over to Lucia and hugs her. Lucia says she couldn’t do anything for Nora. Magdalena says that Lucia isn’t at fault for the decision Nora made. Mario tells Magdalena to take Rebeca to her bedroom. Magdalena kneels next to Rebeca telling her to go with her. Rebeca wants to stay with Nora even though Nora hates her. Rebeca doesn’t want anyone to take Nora away from her. She tells Nora to go be with Alonso, that he’s waiting for her. Magdalena leads Rebeca upstairs. Mario tells Lucia he’s going to make some phone calls. Lucia kneels next to Nora saying N will always be her sister.

- Leti is surprised when Sergio goes to visit her.

- Nazario and Normita talk about Amador and Vinicio. Normita wants to finish their other conversation later but he wants to finish it now. Eventually she accepts to be with him. They hug.

- Leti tells Sara that Sergio told her that Magdalena told Mario that Nora died. [Read that ten times fast ;)]
 

ECDLP #120

PART TWO

- Lucia is in her bedroom when Mario comes in to give her a note from Marcelo. The note reads: “I love you with all my soul and I always will. Don’t forget it.” Lucia goes to her window. Marcelo looks up at her briefly then leaves. Lucia cries. Outside the front gate Marcelo runs into Alfredo. He asks Marcelo if Rebeca is there because he needs to talk to her. Marcelo says Rebeca probably doesn’t want to see anyone at that moment. Alfredo asks Marcelo if he knows everything. Alf said he had no idea and is sure Nora will never regard him as her father. Marcelo says that Nora is dead, she committed suicide. Alfredo shocked saying “what did I do?” Marcelo says that in some way everyone is at fault.

- Daniela goes to an abortion clinic. She’s asked to fill out the paperwork then sees a woman being instructed to go into another room.

- Sergio and Rodrigo talk about Nora. Rodrigo knows that Sergio cared about Nora. Sergio can’t believe what Nora did. Sergio asks Rodrigo about Amador. Speaking of Amador, he’s at the factory skulking around for a set of keys.

- Rebeca tells Magdalena that Nora died just how Adriana did: she fell in the same spot. Nora did it to punish her. Magdalena says that Nora wasn’t well. Rebeca says that Nora told her that she hated her and didn’t want to be her daughter anymore. Rebeca doesn’t know how to live without Nora. Nora was the only thing that was truly hers, the only thing that she loved. She wants them to bring Nora back.

- The police take Nora’s body and Mario asks that they speed up the process so as to not prolong the family’s pain and suffering.

- The lady at the abortion clinic finds the waiting area empty. She rips up the sign in sheet that Daniela left.

- Mario tells Magdalena that they took Nora’s body and will bring it back as soon as possible. Magdalena thinks it was unnecessary to alert the police but Mario says the funeral home would’ve done it because they need to determine the cause of death. Mags says they already know. Lucia witnessed it. But neither Lucia or Rebeca are in a proper headspace to answer any questions. Magdalena can’t believe what’s happening. It breaks her heart to see Rebeca like that. It’s not fair that everyone is paying that price.

- Marcelo returns to Nazario's house and tells him that Nora is dead. Nazario asks why nobody told him. Normita comments that the tragedies don’t end in that family.

- Magdalena tells Lucia that Nora’s body will be brought back to the house as soon as possible for the viewing. Lucia tells her that she and Nora weren’t sisters. Magdalena says that even though Lucia and Nora did not have the same father, they were still sisters. Lucia says that despite their differences she did love Nora. Magdalena assures her that Nora knew that and Lucia should be happy that she was close with Nora. Lucia says she feels bad. Magdalena says Marcelo will help her get through it but Lucia says Marcelo left and she couldn’t stop him. She shows Mags Marcelo’s note and says there’s too many obstacles between her and Marcelo and they won’t be able to get past them. What happened separates them forever. The memory of Nora will always be between them.

- Nazario tells Marcelo he talked to Mario. Marcelo says he’s going back to the city. He says he’s only caused Lucia pain and sadness. They will never be able to be together nor happy. Marcelo says that Rebeca is right: if Marcelo hadn’t come to Puebla maybe Nora and Alonso would still be alive. Nazario understands how Marcelo must be feeling but when bad things happen people blame themselves. Marcelo says he is culpable and Lucia will end up reproaching him and he doesn’t want that to happen. Nazario asks if Lucia knows Marcelo is leaving and Marcelo says that the loss of Nora is more important to Lucia than anything else at the moment. Nazario wants Marcelo to think things over carefully.

- Mario tells Magdalena he is going to the police station to see what the delay is. Magdalena thanks him for everything.
 

ECDLP #120

PART THREE

- Alfredo calls Daniela and asks her to came to Puebla the next day. He needs to tell her something. Daniela thinks it’s about Rodrigo but Alfredo says no so she agrees to go to Puebla.

- Teresa and Lalo talk about Nora. Lalo asks if someone told Nazario. Teresa doesn’t think so.

- Lucia is dressed in black when Magdalena comes down to tell her that Rebeca is resting. Lucia says she didn’t want Rebeca to return to the house but now she can’t tell her anything. Lucia says maybe she’ll leave. She doesn’t want to stay in the house where her mother, father and sister died. Magdalena wonders how Alonso was able to stay in the house after Adriana died but thinks he did it for Lucia so she could grow up in the house he built for Adriana. Lucia says obviously Alonso couldn’t imagine what would eventually happen in the house asks her when they’ll bring Nora’s body back and Magdalena says probably early tomorrow. Lucia asks Magdalena to put the picture of Alonso in Nora’s casket. Magdalena tells Lucia to get some rest because it’s going to be a long night. Lucia prefers to go get some fresh air. Nazario walks up to the house as Lucia steps outside. She apologizes for not telling him what happened and asks about Marcelo. Nazario says Marcelo is in a bad state and thinking of leaving town. He encourages Lucia to call Marcelo but Lucia says she can’t and doesn’t think Marcelo wants her to.

- As Marcelo loads his luggage in his car Amador comes up behind him and knocks him unconscious with a bat or a shovel.
