Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #54
Part 1 of 8
Hazar meets Mahfuz in the open-air restaurant. Mahfuz has decided to turn himself in for shooting Aslan. He realizes that it was the car accident that killed him but he doesn’t want any more venganza’s affecting Reyyan and his grandchild. Mahfuz has a favor to ask, he bought a baby gift and gives it to Hazar to put with all the other gifts when baby lentil is born. (That is just sad).
Azat joins his parents in the sitting room at the Sadoglu casa. He asks why Cihan destroyed the other konak? Why are he and Hazar fighting? Cihan says he did it for Azat so he wouldn’t be crushed by GT, just like Cihan as been his whole life. (Oh brother). Cihan tells Azat to stay out of it. Azat says, how can he allow brother and brother to fight over 4 walls? Cihan tells Azat to mind him, he is still his father dammit!
Azat tries to run interference as a furious Nasuh comes in and demands to know why Cihan went to Aslan’s funeral? How could you go to the funeral of the man who tried to kill your brother, nephew and the daughter of your brother? Cihan claims he went to ensure the hostility between the families has ended. This comment gets Cihan a hard slap across the face. Did I die and you took over the family name? Are you representing the Sadoglu family now? Nasuh is back to his old walrus ways.
He continues, you won’t take over this family until I am dead, your brother is dead and then you can do whatever you want. Cihan throws a Miran style tantrum, yells for GT to stop as he overturns a table. Who is this woman? demands Cihan. She is part of my family, my son in law’s cousin died. I had to go. I only went on behalf of our family. Nasuh yells, you can’t make decisions on behalf of this family!
With tears in his eyes, Cihan says, what terrible things have I done? Would it be different if I had a child out of wedlock and caused trouble for our family? You are the one separating your children, father. I don’t know why you treat me so cruelly but are so merciful to my brother. I don’t know why you don’t love me (we sure do) but you know what? I don’t care that much anymore. For my family, I will go where ever I need to and talk to whoever I need to.
By the way, the Granado konak, I destroyed it. If you had asked me, I would have given you my life before I gave you what was promised to my son. No one, not even my own father, will ignore me and my family. He pouts out of the room.
Hazar arrives at the cabin to pick up the girls. Reyyan comes out alone and invites him in to eat. Hazar prefers to wait outside. Reyyan tells him how great Miran was with his sisters and becoming accustom to having a real family. She is sure that he will soon accept Hazar as his dad. He knows everything you have done for us. Miran will not forget that.
Look at me, she continues, the man whose blood runs in my veins didn’t even want me to be born. Hazar looks a bit uncomfortable with that comment. You are my father, the one who protects me and loves me. Now you are doing the same thing for Miran. You will care for him and love him, just like you do for me. She hugs him and says she will bring Gul and Bahar out. He stops her saying, I have something to talk to you about.
Back inside the cabin, Gul is eating and Miran is baby-talking to Bahar, calling her his Spring. What am I to you? asks Gul. You are my smile. All the roses of Spring bloom when they see your smile, he responds.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #54
Part 2 of 8
The ever-astute Gul tells Miran that this cabin is too small for a baby. Where will they play when she comes over and the new baby is sleeping? Miran agrees with her and says they hadn’t thought about that and maybe it was time to expand the cabin a bit. (Why don’t they just move in to that huge mansion he bought right next door to the Sadoglu’s?).
Gul brags that their father can help. He built her a tree house at the County Casa in one day. She will ask their father to come and build a new room at the cabin. Changing the subject, Miran tells her to finish the food on the plate. Gul starts to giggle. Why are you giggling? Because, says Gul, you said that just like father. (Miran can’t last denying Hazar much longer).
Miran looks outside the window and sees Hazar and Reyyan in a deep, intense conversation. Reyyan is shaking her head “no” as she tosses the baby gift Mahfuz gave to Hazar to the ground and walks away. (So glad Hazar told her!). She comes into the cabin and tells Gul to hurry up, Hazar is waiting. Gul wants to finish her meal, but Reyyan is bundling up the baby saying that Gul has to go, their father is waiting. Miran quietly asks Reyyan if she is okay, but she just hustles him out with the girls.
Miran buckles Gul in the backseat as she asks Hazar if he will build a new room for ReyMir and the new baby because the cabin is too small? Smiling, Hazar says, of course I will! Even Miran has to force a smile in front of Gul. Closing the car door though, it is back to being Angry Bangs Miran in front of Hazar, as he heads back to the cabin without a word of goodbye.
Hazar calls to him and asks him to give the little gift box to Reyyan saying, she knows what it is and she can decide what to do with it. Inside the cabin, Reyyan is sitting, looking a bit angry and in shock. When Miran comes inside, she jumps up and starts washing dishes in a sink that until today, never existed. Miran puts the little black box on the counter next to the sink. She tells him to get rid of it, it is trash. When he doesn’t move fast enough, she grabs the box and tosses it outside.
Miran asks her, what is going on Reyyan? Won’t you tell me what’s wrong? Mahfuz came here not for Aslan, but for me, she says. Mahfuz is my bio father! She cries, as he hugs her.
Driving Ms. Azize/Ayse, Mahmut tells her that the men are all in place and ready. Good she responds, tell them to wait. Thinking out loud, she says, I warned you Fusun, I only have room for my children and grandchildren. You no longer exist.
Back at the cabin, Miran gives Reyyan a glass of water and tells her if she doesn’t want to talk, he respects that. My father is Hazar Sadoglu, she says. Yes, Reyyan, he is, responds Miran. I completely understand how you feel, in fact, both of us understand how we feel. He didn’t want me to be born, she says. If it wasn’t for my father, who saved us…she jumps up and goes outside, crying. Miran follows her with a sweater and tells her cry and scream but to think of the baby.
Reyyan continues to lament that Mahfuz didn’t want her and wanted Zehra to get rid of her. What father gives up on a child? But he regretted it, Reyyan, says Miran. You said it yourself, he came back for you. He saved me, you, our baby and your father. You even thanked him for that. But he didn’t want me! We are not the same Miran. Both of you fathers wanted and love you. Your father is waiting for you to acknowledge him. My father abandoned my mother.
Yes, I am grateful for what he did for us, but for what he did in the past, it is impossible for me to call him father.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #54
Part 3 of 8
Miran picks up the small gift box and opens it to find a red ribbon with a small medallion of some sort. There is a note that Miran reads: “The best thing you can do for yourself is raising a child. May God never separate you. May your child grow up happy with his parents.” Miran offers to take Reyyan to see Mahfuz if she wants to go.
At the police station, it appears that Mahfuz has turned himself in and is now being transferred to prison. Reyyan calls to him. The guard tells her she cannot get close to the prisoner, but Mahfuz tells him that she is his daughter. He gives them one minute to talk. Miran watches from a distance.
I am not your daughter, says Reyyan and you are not my father. My father is Hazar Sadoglu. He shakes his head in agreement. I just came to give this back to you, shoving the gift back in his hand and to tell you this in person. She walks away. Mahfuz calls out to her, please Reyyan wait. Please give a minute to a stranger. She turns back to him. I know I have no right to ask you this, he says, I cannot face you to even tell you how sorry I am.
Hazar arrives and sees the exchange going on, he hides a bit behind the wall, not knowing that Miran is directly behind him in the parking lot also watching.
Mahfuz continues, I was young and stupid. I thought life was about traveling and having fun. When you mother told me about you, I got scared. Then I regretted it and started to follow you both. You should have come for us, she says. I tried, he says, but it was too late. She had already married your father. I saw you when you were born. You got your hair from me. I followed you from time to time, secretly took pictures of you. I have always been very proud of you. Then I heard about what happened and I came back to help you regain what you lost and your loved ones.
You are nothing to me, says Reyyan, I don’t care about you! You walked back into my life on a lie and then were going to leave again. I wanted to tell you, he says. I still don’t care, shouts Reyyan. I owe you my life, but nothing more. Miran is watching this and at the same time looking at Hazar.
Mahfuz wants to give Reyyan the gift back, saying it really was for her. He has one favor to ask of her even though he knows he deserves nothing. Would she allow him to hug her and least once, so he can leave with this memory? He promises to never show his face again.
As Reyyan anguishes over his request, Miran is slowly walking toward Hazar as he watches Reyyan and Mahfuz. (The camera work here is beautifully done). Hazar senses Miran behind him and turns, saying he was just there to check on Reyyan, he moves to leave. Out of nowhere, Miran says, you are my father. What did you say? asks Hazar.
Crying, Reyyan is struggling to make a decision and she walks up close enough for Mahfuz to raise his cuffed hands over her poofy hair and hug her.
Miran says, I will not let you go again, father. Hazar opens his arms wide and both hug each other fiercely. Of course, both are crying. The camera pans around from father to son, father to daughter and back again. Hazar kisses and hugs Miran, who continues to call him father.
Mahfuz thanks Reyyan saying, you didn’t have to do that for me. Hazar Sadoglu raised a very compassionate daughter. You are his daughter, he emphasizes. Reyyan takes the gift box from his hand and says that she will put it on her child’s pillow. The police finally intervene and put Mahfuz in the car. Reyyan turns back to head over to Miran, only to find him and Hazar hugging away in the parking lot. Her distress turns to joy.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #54
Part 4 of 8
Azize arrives at a lonely, but well-appointed house. A woman is waiting at the door to welcome her. Is she ready? asks Azize, are the suitcases packed? Yes, says the woman, the doctor was here earlier and gave her a sedative, she is ready to travel. Azize walks into the house and says to herself, I will fix this Nasuh. At least I can do something and fix this. She has a flashback to Miran asking if she could give his mother back to him?
With anticipation, Azize opens the door to a room in the house, only to find Fusun and her henchman. After exchanging pleasantries, Azize demands to know what Fusun did with Dilsah? Fusun responds, whatever happened to her, you did, Azize. Azize is highly annoyed. Fusun opens her purse and pulls out the woman sized Midyat issued pistol. She puts it on the table and says, to kill yourself.
Without hesitation, Azize picks up the pistols, cocks the hammer, puts the pistol to her temple and pulls the trigger. The pistol is empty, no bullets. Fusun laughs evilly, you thought your death would be that easy Azize? Well, it won’t be. You must first pay the price and then you can die.
Where is Dilsah? demands Azize. Yes, let’s get to the point, says Fusun, but first I have a few conditions. Number one, you will go to the court and change your last name, I will not allow you to use my family name. Two, and this is not about money because I have all the money in the world, but you will return everything you owned under my family name. Three, you will get the hell out of here.
You talk, says Azize, but all that comes out is nonsense. Where is Dilsah? Why do you want to suddenly find the woman you have been hiding for so many years? What is your new plan? Are you going to tell Miran, your mother is alive and then kill his father? You are messing with the wrong person Fusun. I am not playing games, she responds.
Have you ever thought about what Miran and Hazar are going to do to you when they find out you having been hiding the woman they thought dead all these years? Think about it. I will give you three days to do what I ask. If you don’t, then I will personally take Dilsah and hand her over to Hazar and Miran letting them know you have kept her all this time. Fusun leaves as she tells Azize to let her know when everything is done. You can see the wheels in Azize’s head spinning.
As she walks to her car, Fusun says, you thought the Sadoglu’s were an enemy to be reckoned with? Well now you have me. She glances over to Azize’s car as she leaves. Azize comes out of the house and hears Mahmut yelling from the trunk of the car. (This dude has had a couple of rough days).
Miran and Reyyan, all dressed in white, are planting a pomegranate tree. Miran leaves to get more water as Rey watches him walk away. Turning back to the tree, it has grown and now has two pomegranates. She is excited, until one of the pomegranates falls and breaks open, splashing red on her dress near her stomach. She screams in pain. The other pomegranate sways precariously. She cries out for help, saying that if it falls, he will die. A figure with burned hands (Azize??) puts a supporting staff under the tree branch and ties a blue ribbon to the pomegranate securing it to the branch. The burned hand seems to touch Reyyan and she is no longer in pain.
Reyyan awakens from this nightmare calling for Miran. She thinks about crazy Sultana cursing her baby the day of Aslan’s funeral. She sees Miran outside chopping wood and is relieved. She talks to the baby, wishing she could hold him already because she loves him so much. That is why I am so afraid, but don’t you be afraid okay?
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #54
Part 5 of 8
Miran comes in with an arm load of wood asking if Reyyan and the lentil are finally awake. With a flourish, he brings a tray full of food to her in bed. She begins to eat but then smelling the milk, she gets nauseous and tells him to take all the food away. (I have yet to see a fridge in the Love Shack, so I am sure the milk is bad).
Reyyan looks at the gift from Mahfuz again. She says that she is still angry, but she understands that he is trying to make amends for his mistake. She doesn’t know what to do. Miran tells her that she is kind hearted and compassionate. She also has always told him that everyone deserves a second chance. Mahfuz is her father and he regrets the mistakes of his past. Reyyan says, if she feels anything for Mahfuz, it is almost disrespectful to Hazar. Miran responds, your father…(smiling) my father, thinks Mahfuz is a good person, that is why he told you. Our father wants you to forgive Mahfuz. Miran offers to take her to see Mahfuz anytime if she ever wants to see him or talk to him. Their conversation is cut short by a loud bang outside the cabin.
It is Hazar, unloading lumber to start the expansion of the cabin. Good morning, my son. Good morning, responds Miran with a bit of a smile. It is a nice scene with Hazar explaining the building plans to enhance the bathroom and make two bedrooms. He will do the initial layout but has hired master builders to finish the work. Reyyan leaves them to make breakfast, everyone has a big smile.
Breakfast is served at the Sadoglu casa. Handan’s annoying voice rises above all as she bosses people around. GT asks for Hazar and Zehra explains that he is at the cabin helping ReyMir. Cihan gets upset when Azat comments that he would have gone with him to help if Hazar had told him. GT scolds Cihan again, saying if he doesn’t want to have a relationship with his nephew, then let Azat fill in for him. Zehra thanks Azat for offering.
Breakfast is interrupted by the arrival of Fusun. She is welcomed warmly by Cihan who offers her tea, but she defers to Nasuh’s invitation. He tells her she is welcome at their table. Fusun is there to say that there are not hostilities between families. She is also there to pick up her son and bride to take them back to the Aslanbey konak. Yaren looks thrilled and nods yes to Cihan. (Gonul will not be as thrilled).
At the cabin, Hazar is busy sawing away as Miran is carrying rocks to a pile. (I think it is safe to say that Miran has never done a day of hard work in his life). He tries to get Hazar’s attention, but it isn’t until he calls, “father” that Hazar hears him. Big smile from Hazar as he explains a bit of the building trade to Miran.
The conversation goes to discussion of the Sadoglu family and how the relationships have changed. Miran says that he and Azat have come to terms, but Nasuh and Cihan are another story. Hazar tells him that he will defend his son from everyone and Miran will understand this father/son bond when he holds his child in his arms the first time. Just when we thought we could get through a scene without one of these two crying, Hazar starts the waterworks. He just wishes that Miran’s mother was alive to hear them call each other father and son. Miran tells him that Azize gave him something that belonged to his mother.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #54
Part 6 of 8
Nasuh tells Fusun that she is welcome in his home but Yaren will live with her family especially since Harun lied about his family origins. Fusun understands but doesn’t want to break up any more families. If Yaren wants to move, she is welcome to live with her new family. When asked by GT, Yaren agrees to the move as she and Harun want to stay married (huge eye roll from the recapper, she only wants prestige and money). Fusun tells them the car is ready and they can have their things sent to the Aslanbey konak later in the day.
Fusun thanks Nasuh and asks his permission to allow her new in-laws to join her for dinner. Cihan immediate says yes, but Nasuh says that they already have a special family event planned for that night. Cihan looks highly annoyed. Fusun says they are always invited to share a meal at her table. She hustles Harun and Yaren along and out the door.
The second Fusun is gone, Nasuh scolds Cihan for once again speaking for the Sadoglu family. He announces that Reyyan is pregnant (Handan rolls her eyes) and the family will gather to bless the news of the new grandchild and they will sit at the dinner table together, both friend and former foe. He will invite Miran to join them and he doesn’t give a rat ass, everyone will be there. With that, he leaves the table.
Hazar is laughing with Miran on the stairs of the cabin looking at the cute pictures of Miran as a child, he asks to keep one since he doesn’t have anything when Miran was young. Hazar thinks Bahar looks a lot like Miran. Miran gives Hazar the letter Dilsah wrote and the crying begins again. Hazar asks if he can keep the letter, Miran agrees, as Reyyan smiles at them through the window.
Gonul and Sultana are talking in the courtyard. It sounds as if Sultana is going away for a while (hmmmm). In comes Fusun with Harun and Yaren. No way, shouts Gonul. Who gave you the right to invite people into my father’s house? This house was my fathers says Fusun, built by my grandfather. Any Aslanbey has a right to live here, this includes my son and my bride. Or should we have your mother move out because she is only an Aslanbey by marriage?
They argue but then Sultana seems to suddenly be the voice of reason saying that Aslan and Harun fought side by side to unmask Azzie. He is Gonul’s primo and who cares that he married Yaren, she is no one. Gonul is upset that Sultana and Harun kept the Aslan secret from her. A look passes between Sultana and Harun.
There is a flash back to another doctor telling Sultana that Aslan is in a coma. We are not at the hospital. Harun is there with her. Sultana tells him not to say a word to Gonul in case Aslan really does die. Sultana clearly has secreted Aslan away and there was some other poor bastard that died in his place. The whole funeral was for show. (Wow, these people are crazy).
Sultana tells Gonul to stop thinking with her emotions. Harun is her primo and they should all live together as family. Don’t make the mistake of acting like HAG, she fought with everyone around her. Gonul tells Harun that he is welcome to live in the casa, but if Yaren puts one toe out of place, it is over.
At the olive grove, Zeynep is giving instructions to workers about spraying the trees. Firat shows up and they flirt for a bit until Esma shows up. Firat is frosty and finally introduces Zeynep to her. Zeynep is very respectful, kissing Esma’s hand and leaving them to talk.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #54
Part 7 of 8
Esma asks if he is going to evade her forever? There are so many things he doesn’t know. Firat is still very angry with Esma saying that she kept these things from him for many years. Has she ever considered what might have happened if she hadn’t kept quiet all these years? Maybe Dilsah would be alive and Miran’s life wouldn’t have been destroyed or mine or Gonul’s. I want to talk now, says Esma. Well, I don’t, responds Firat. He walks away, leaving Esma crying. Zeynep tries to help Esma and she is grateful but tells her this is not her issue.
Back at the cuckoo’s nest, Gonul tells Sultana the only reason she agreed to allow Harun to stay there was because she asked. Gonul then makes Sultana promise not to hurt ReyMir’s baby. Sultana says she couldn’t let another mother suffer what she has suffered and only said that out of her pain.
At the cabin, Reyyan watches father and son (the carpintontos, 😊, my dad used to say this about his brother who couldn’t build a thing in a straight line) work together. She tells baby lentil that he has already brough so much joy to the family. That joy is interrupted by the arrival of Nasuh. He would like to speak with Miran.
Zeynep finds Firat in the grove. She tells him that Esma left crying and what if something happens to her? Firat asks her to stay out of it. How can you be so cruel to your mother? Go and talk to her. Firat again tells her to butt out.
Walking, Nasuh tells Miran that he doesn’t know how to say kind grandfather like words. He is an angry man and that is all he was taught and all he knows. (Finally, some self-reflection). Please let me call you grandson. Miran looks uncomfortable and says nothing. Leaning on a tree for support, Nasuh says, I know we have been awful with each other. But now that we know we are family, I would like that to change. I am like the root of this tree and you are the branches. From now on, my job is to protect you.
I am very sorry grandson. I wish I had listened and believed your mother back then but I foolishly listened to gossip and rumors. Crying, he says, my sin is great and I am so, so sorry, if I could take back the past I would. All I would like is to one day be grandfather and grandson, just like with Azat. What do you say?
Shuffling from foot to foot, Miran finally says, hopefully. That is enough for Nasuh, he is grateful for that much and tells Miran that he wants to host a dinner in is honor that night. Let them all be family around the table.
Reyyan is trying to zip up a skirt and is having difficulty. I know that my belly will grow with the baby but I think all the food you bring me will make me have to buy new clothes early, she says to Miran, who is deep in thought. He tells her he is not sure if he is ready for the big family dinner, even if he told Nasuh that he would go. Reyyan tells him to take his time and she can call and say she is feeling nauseous. They can be a family when Miran is ready. Miran sighs heavily.
Nasuh has rented an outdoor restaurant for the family dinner complete with a musical group playing traditional music. There is some nervousness because ReyMir have not yet arrived. Cihan and Handan are whispering their displeasure to each other and hope that Miran doesn’t show up so Cihan and toss it in Nasuh’s face. Handan frets that Yaren is alone at the Aslanbey konak and they should be there with her not with Miran.
Cihan says he is hungry; can’t dinner be served? Hazar tells Nasuh not to worry, they will come.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #54
Part 8 of 8
As Nasuh raises his hand to the waiter, ReyMir enter the patio. With relief, Nasuh welcomes his guests. Good Grannie is thrilled to see them both, only Cihan and Handan make no effort to say hello.
Nasuh makes a big deal about having both grandson’s sit next to him. He claims now he can die happy. Good Grannie tells Miran that she has wanted to move back to her house, but Hazar won’t let her. Hazar says she is the jewel of the house and they are blessed to have her with them.
Miran says he would like for her to move in with them, but the cabin is too small. Maybe now with the remodel, there will be room for her. Nasuh says that it is ridiculous for them to talk about remodels when the Sadoglu konak is large enough for all of them. They have a home and a family. He wants his great-grandchild to be raised with the other children in the house.
While these nice conversations are going on, Cihan and Handan grouse about everything Miran and how poor Yaren isn’t at the table and sitting like an orphan at another dinner table. Handan even says that her mother wasn’t invited to a special dinner, but Sukran is and can live at the mansion.
Nasuh is bubbly with joy and continues to say that they are a family living in peace and he wants them all to be together. Cihan interrupts him and asks if he might have permission to say a few words, as the episode ends.
Many thanks, VVS, for another superb recap. I especially enjoyed your insightful side comments, such as "(Why don’t they just move in to that huge mansion he bought right next door to the Sadoglu’s?)" and "(I have yet to see a fridge in the Love Shack, so I am sure the milk is bad)." I had forgotten about the huge mansion next door that Miran had bought, and, it seems, so had he. Also, I loved "He pouts out of the room" and "carpintontos"!
I had mixed feelings about the episode. On the one hand, I was happy to see the loving scenes between Hazar and Miran. On the other hand, WTF was that flashback scene with Sultana and Aslan? It looks like it's not just Dilsah who will make an appearance after almost everyone has believed her dead for 30 years, but also Aslan, who apparently survived being shot and also being burned up in a car crash?? Didn't the doctors work on reviving him and proclaim him dead? This dizzy dizi should have been called Hercai: Return from the Dead. No wonder Azize didn't hesitate to put the gun to her head and pull the trigger. She knew not to fear death that isn't death. Sigh
I've got to go, but I did want to thank you for your excellent recap. With any luck, this week will be the last of the 2-hour episodes. ¡Ojalá!
VVS, thank you for every odd detail as we travel further into the twilight zone .
I loved several scenes...Mir showing his sweet side with Gul and Bahar , Rey and her biodad meeting and Reg getting that handcuffed hug ...ha...Mir and Hazer hugging it out . Gul is adorable.
I got a kick out of father and son determined to build an addition to The Love Shack as dad threw around a couple of spindly planks and son picked up a rock. Yes, a great start. Good point about the big old mansion Mir just bought . Oh well,we must continue to suspend our disbelief and find an industrial strength beanie.
Azz finding her loyal big dog Mahmoud locked in the trunk. How embarrassing .
Diminuative Fusan is large and in charge In her big earrings and bad attitude. What's up with almost every scene featuring a gun ? Alternate title " Guns No Roses."
That dream that Rey had was disturbing .
I feel bad for poor Azat who is right in the middle of all these crazy relatives . This guy just wants to live in peace. Maybe he and a reformed Gonul (?) Will get a HEA away from their families.
Thank you Juanita and Susanlynn for the great comments. I found the episode definitely skirting the edge of reality. I also enjoyed the Miran interaction with his sisters and his acknowledgment of Hazar as his dad. The scenes with Mahfuz and Reyyan had me crying like a baby.
Juanita, I was totally with you on the Que the Heck with Sultana and Aslan. How was she able to find another burned body to burn everyone’s mind with? All her screeching after Aslan’s supposed death was for show? “Return From the Dead” is a good title for this second part of the series.
Susanlynn, “Guns No Roses”, too funny. I also found Reyyan’s dream disturbing. I hope it is not a shinning/premonition of what is to come.
VVS, you knocked it out of the park! Just a fine recap of a dizzying dizi episode! Yep, the writers totally forgot about the mansion Miran bought to sneak visits with Reyyan. And, by the way, Miran is apparently out of the Aslanbey business so where does his money come from?
I got a kick out of Reyyan using the "sink that never existed before". And I was wondering about morning sickness with no toilet in sight.
Azize and Fusun: Battle of the Titans.
So did Mahfuz get a trial or do they just haul them off to prison.
When did Hazar learn those carpentry skills, even if he is a carpentonto? (Thanks for that VVS.)
I think Fusun said that it was her bisabuelo that built the konak. Actually that surprised me. These konaks look medieval, like they were built in 1215 or 1463.
Crap! I suppose we might be treated to a Phantom of the Opera scene later on when Aslan is ambulatory and, once again, goes after Reyyan. As all we veterans know, obsessed other men/women NEVER give up.
Hi novelera. Thank you for the baseball reference, I know you just can’t wait for Spring training to start!
Where does Miran get his money from? Maybe he has a trust fund. Even outcast Azize still seems to have money. I wondered about Mahfuz as well. I guess since he said he was guilty there was no trial, but I know nothing of the Turkish legal system.
Azize vs. Fusun does equal the Battle of the Titans!
Susanlynn, I have read your posts on the Uni site and now with us on Telemundo. You are one of the kindest people here and have made my day many, many times without you even knowing it. So I agree with novelera, you are a gem. I am sorry the day wasn't the best, but in TN/dizi land, we can sure help each other have a great day and you always make mine with your comments!

Outstanding recap, VVS. Gave me a good laugh. It was very helpful, I nodded off in the last 5 mins of the show! Loved reading everyone’s comments.
“Hercai: Return from the Dead” lol, Juanita. I think we could have fun coming up with new subtitles.
" Guns No Roses." Excellent, Susanlynn. I agree, you are a gem.
The Reyyan-Mahfuz scene was very well done.
Miran with his sisters was cute. Bahar means spring and Gul means rose, or flower.
Yes, what about the mansion next door?
How do you enhance a bathroom that never existed? I think we have seen every corner of that cabin. No toilet, no sink. Curiously enough, there seems to be some electricity. Carpintontos…lol.
I don’t understand the purpose of hiding Aslan. He’s probably a goner.
Pitchers and catchers are supposed to report next week. I always look forward to hearing that on the news, it’s like we’ve turned the corner on winter. Unfortunately, it looks like spring training will be delayed by a lockout. How depressing.
Kadir and Meryem are back home, listening to Muka’s latest victim rant. Everyone blames her, it’s “always her fault”. She takes her family’s belongings out of the bungalow. Rahmi sits nearby, silent. Muka shouts at him, they are looking forward to us leaving the house! [I don’t know about Meryem and Kadir, but I want to see her leave, asap!] They are using this as an excuse!
Meryem tells her you don’t have to do this. Muka snaps back, Mukaddes was okay when you brought her here, now Mukaddes is the evil one, right? Meryem tries to get Muka to calm down. Says the one who started this all, Muka answers. [good grief, she’s blaming Meryem?] Kadir asks, why are you taking your things out like this? I’m not going to stay in a place where I’m not wanted, she replies, I won’t stay even if you ask me to.
Meryem wants Muka to help put her belongings back. [She’s being way to kind, I’d help her bring them out the gate] You still don’t get it, Muka shouts, we’ve been kicked out. We are leaving with our tails between our legs. Kadir says, no one is kicking you out, where did you get that from? Where are you going without finding a place to stay first? I’ll go wherever I can, Muka fires back. I’ll put up a tent in the park if I have to. But I don’t have to put up with you or that girl!
Have you gone crazy, Meryem asks? You’re guilty and you’re the one pretending to be the victim. You should apologize, not blame us. Of course, Muka says, you have Fahrettin Bey and his money on your side… you can look down on us. Meryem’s jaw drops and she says that’s so unfair. Muka proclaims herself a “woman of dignity”. I had enough of being treated like a refugee. I’m fed up with being pushed around by you. We are leaving and you won’t see us anymore!
Kadir says that’s enough, you’re upsetting Rahmi. Rahmi continues to sit in silence looking like he’s churning inside. Muka begins to shout at Rahmi, say something. Let’s take our stuff and get out of here!
Muka has unleashed the beast. That’s enough! Shut up! Go inside, he points to the bungalow, and don’t make any noise until I find a place and come back home! That startles Muka for a quick second. She says, look at you… Yes, look at me, he shouts, look at me! I’ll turn you into the police and you will have to stay in jail! You’ll end up in prison just like the others. I’ll tell them everything you have done. All the dirty deals you made. That’s enough of causing harm to my sister. I’m fed up, Mukaddes, I’m fed up with you!
Muka tells Rahmi to get control himself. He ignores that request. What right do you have to upset these people? He takes pillows from her and throws them back at her. Go inside and sit! Inside now! Kadir offers to help bring things back inside. Rahmi says no, she will pick up the disaster she made. Look Mukaddes, I’m serious! I won’t have any mercy on you! Muka can’t believe this.
From now on you’ll do as I say, Rahmi orders. I’ll tell you again, I’ll make them take you to prison. I’m going to look for a house, you will sit and wait until I come back. Sure… how could you pay without money, she says. Rahmi fires back, I have it! We sold the dairy and we sold my parents’ land. That money is mine and Fatma’s. It’s clean money and it’s ours, not dirty money like yours. You only have Yasaran money… take it and swallow it!
Rahmi walks. Kadir follows and wants him to stop. I’m going to look for a house, Rahmi says, we already caused enough problems and discomfort, that’s enough. Kadir says that’s nonsense and he asks Rahmi to get in his car. Don’t do anything silly out of anger, Kadir advises. Nobody asked you to leave. I know, Rahmi replies, but we can’t go on like this. Mukaddes upsets everyone.
We accept her as she is, we know how she is, says Kadir, who either has a heart of gold or is a glutton for punishment. We can live with this. Don’t make this worse than it is, please. Rahmi knows this and is thankful. You tolerated a lot of things, you had your eyes closed only to help my sister, but we can’t go on. I don’t want to be a burden to anyone or cause more trouble. Kadir tells him to take some time to calm down, but Rahmi is unwavering. As long a Muka is here, he says, Fatma won’t visit. And she shouldn’t. I can go see my sister. I’ll keep in touch. Kadir reluctantly agrees to drive Rahmi to the real estate office.
Muka is crying inside the bungalow, blaming Fatma for her plight, while Meryem carries stuff in. Muka sobs, because she couldn’t mourn Musto’s death in front of Kerim, she made me the excuse for her breakdown. She attacked me so she could cry her eyes out. Meryem says nothing. Muka begs God to save her from the hands of that girl. [please save us from Muka!]
Fatma is still on the bed, a little calmer now. Kerim is in the living room, worried. He reads Musto’s letter, gets angry and starts to crumple it. He thinks twice, folds it and puts it down.
Fahr calls Kerim. He heard the news about Musto. Fahr asks how Fatma is doing. She’s sad, Kerim answers, and there was stuff with her yenge. Kerim says he will fill his dad in later, he has to go to the workshop now and they can meet there.
Kerim tells Fatma he’s going to the workshop, but he will stay if she wants. She says he can go, she has things to do at home. She picks up the broken plate. For the billionth time, Kerim tells her he’s sorry. She turns and asks, why didn’t you ask me? Why didn’t you talk about the letters? Why didn’t you tell me that’s why you left? I came down there for you. I understood something was wrong just by looking at you and you said nothing. I didn’t want to upset you, he replies.
Fatma continues, you believed I hid Musto’s letters. You let it put a distance between us and told me nothing. You didn’t want to believe I was done with Musto. And you wanted to have the wedding despite thinking Musto was still on my mind. How could you accept that? You didn’t believe me either when we said our vows. You pretended to believe. You thought I was playing with you, and you played along. Did we build our marriage on lies, Kerim?!
Kerim finally speaks up, of course not, I trust you completely. I confess that I was confused when I found those letters. But after I spoke to my father, he helped me to understand that I was wrong. He said there must have been a reason you hid the letters.
Fatma is ticked that Kerim told everything to his dad. Who else did you tell? Meryem? Kadir? Emre? Guilty look from Kerim. She heads to the kitchen. Nothing else for him to do but leave.
Sami brings Hacer and Murat home. Silly Hacer, she opens the mailbox hoping to find a letter. Sami’s got the place decorated. “dear son” “welcome Murat” balloons. Hacer is touched and thanks him with a hug and a kiss.
Fatma cleans the house with a vengeance. Gotta work through that anger somehow. She gets a call from Meryem, who wants to know how she’s doing Fatma’s short with her. I’m not okay, why didn’t you tell me? Why didn’t you ask about the letters? Meryem stutters and Fatma continues, because you didn’t believe me like everyone else. [Turkish] While everyone was talking behind my back, you closed your eyes to it.
Meryem explains herself, I never thought you hid them because you were thinking of Musto. Fatma is very disappointed in Meryem. [Turkish] she says she’s upset and heartbroken. Didn’t we get to know each other after all this time? I thought we understood each other. That’s what I can’t accept.
Meryem is sorry, she admits her mistake. Muka comes upstairs at an inopportune moment. Meryem tells her she thought Mukaddes could do something like this. We made comments about our suspicions, she says. Kadir even asked her if she did it. Muka whispers to herself, [Turkish] I wish a stone the size of Mukaddes would drop on top of all your heads. [it should fall on her!] She goes into her room.
She denied it, Meryem says, and we had the wedding coming up. We didn’t want any unpleasantness to come to light. Believe me, no one had doubts about you. Fatma says Kerim did, or he wouldn’t have left. Meryem replies that she told Kerim what he did was wrong. Muka comes out of her room to hear Meryem say, that woman did it again.
Fatma says all she cares about is her brother. She’s worried he might be angry with her. Meryem assures her he is not. Fatma says she only put up with Muka because of him but this was the last straw. Meryem tells her that Rahmi went to the real estate and adds, we didn’t want them to go, we wanted them to stay. Fatma thinks it’s for the best.
The RE agent takes Rahmi and Kadir to a rundown house. Right away Rahmi says he will rent but Kadir takes him aside. Kadir explains the expenses to renovate, to furnish, etc. and tells him why move when you already have a place to live. Let things settle, he says, don’t make a rushed decision. Stay in the bungalow for now and if we have to we will look again. Rahmi looks like he is considering it.
Kerim and Fahr talk. Fahr gives his son a kind of I told you so. Kerim says he doesn’t know what they will do with that woman [Muka]. That’s not the only problem, Fahr replies. How can I go back to Australia, you will be on my mind all the time. Kerim is sure they can work this out. Fahr wants to send plane tickets so Kerim and Fatma will come after the trial. Kerim doesn’t want to rush, there are still things to get in order here.
Fahr is anxious for Kerim to come. What he really wants is Kerim to come to live permanently in Australia. No one there will know you. Nothing to remind you of what you went through. You can start a new life there. Kerim says they are making their lives here, the new house, the workshop. We haven’t discussed it. It hasn’t even crossed our minds.
Fahr says there’s lots of opportunities in Australia. You can study and work. You are thinking about Fatma of course, you think she won’t get used to it, but she can. She can learn the language. Kerim says that’s a difficult decision. He wants to wait. Fahr wants him to consider it. You can raise your children without worries. Our children…. Kerim says as if he doubts they will have any. Fahr assures him children will come.
Fatma’s still cleaning the already spotless house and she looks at the letter on the table. She takes it to the kitchen and is ready to toss it but she decides to burn it instead, just like Musto burned their house.
Deniz and Emre stop by with wedding pics. Deniz tells Fatma they are going to go out on a boat and asks her if she’d like to come. Fatma turns down the offer and looks at the pics.
Hacer is depressed she didn’t get a letter from Musto.
Munir and Peri are swarmed by reporters upon leaving the police station. Oh boy, they have to go home in a taxi because all their cars have been confiscated. Peri wants to contact Selim and tell him not to use his phone anymore.
Erdo continues to work on his confession. He has some flashbacks and then he hears his father’s voice: start writing before that night. He sees his father. if you are going to write, he tells his son, you must write everything, not just what happened to Fatmagul that night. Start with your uncle’s slap that started everything. You got angry and wanted him to pay. You wanted to slap Resat back, but in a different way. You wanted to use Selim to take revenge, but it got out of hand.
Erdo whimpers.. I didn’t want it to be this way… Ghost of Rifat continues, you wanted to ruin the engagement night. You wanted Selim to look bad before Turaner and the engagement would be canceled. It would interfere with Resat’s business plans. But it ended in a disaster. [Turkish] You were the first one to pay the consequences of your wrongdoing, then the others followed along with many other innocent people. Erdo blames it on the drugs.
Don’t fool yourself, Rifat says, if you are writing a confession, write it all. Don’t leave out anything. Write about your anger at Resat. That anger made you become this. I hate Resat, Erdo whines. No, Rifat replies, you always wanted to be the son of a man like him. Knowing you weren’t lucky like Selim made you more furious. That’s why you made me suffer. Erdo flashes back to the day his father had the heart attack. He’s distraught and asks, is it all because of me, father? Rifat is gone. Erdo cries.
Resat starts asking if Selim has come yet.
We see Selim with dark hair now. He’s treating a fisherman to lunch and drinks to talk him into taking him back to Turkey.
That evening, Kerim comes up the walk with a big bouquet of “please forgive me” flowers. He sees there are no lights on in the house. He panics and runs the rest of the way. Fatmagul? The lights come on and Fatma comes around the outside of the house. He breathes a big sigh of relief. He was scared. She had too many appliances on and blew a fuse. He thought she left him. My heart stopped, he tells her. Welcome home, Fatma replies.
You brought me flowers? He gives her the flowers and a big hug. Looks like all is forgiven. Kerim notices the note is gone and Fatma says she burned it. I destroyed everything from the past, everything that was left from him. I erased the past the moment we walked through this door together. In my house…with you… I started a new life. He thanks her for forgiving him.
Meryem brings Muka something to eat for dinner. She’s already made something and turns the offering down. Muka asks, where is Rahmi? Meryem doesn’t know and gets worried. Muka asks her to call. Rahmi answers and tells Meryem he’s at the beach, thinking. Why don’t you come home, she asks? He will, in a little while. He tells her he rented a house.
Meryem repeats this and Muka grabs the phone and starts nagging. What did you do? You’ve crossed the line.. thankfully, he hangs up on her. She spews at Meryem, my name is Mukaddes, I swear I will make you all pay and regret what you have done! She slams the door on Meryem. Meryem is flabbergasted. [she should be used to this by now]
Fatma and Kerim have dinner. Kerim tells her that Kadir talked Rahmi into staying a little longer. Fatma thinks that’s good, but it doesn’t mean she’s forgiven Muka. And she’s not changing her mind. She’s fed up with her yenge’s manipulations. She knows I love my brother and that makes her envious.
Kerim changes the subject, did you study today? No, she was busy. She takes a photo album out and shows Kerim. We could look at together it after dinner.
Meltem goes out to a club and breaks a heel on her way in. Just so happens a guy she met at a wedding a few years ago is there to help. He offers to give her a ride back home to change her shoes. Later, they make a date to see each other again. It could be love at first (ok, maybe second) sight.
Rahmi comes home and Muka wants to talk. Rahmi says he will talk and she will listen. I was angry at you today, you embarrassed me very much. About what, Muka wonders. What did you want from my sister, he asks? Why did you do that to her? Muka ignores that question and asks one of her own, Meryem said you rented a place. Is that true? Yes, he replies, I thought about it and made my decision.
Are you going to leave me alone, she asks? Maybe your sister gave you the idea. She said “get rid of her, get a place and I’ll take care of you.” Leave her with the kids and she can go to hell. My sister wouldn’t say those bad things, Rahmi replies, only you think like that. He shuts Muka down before she can start an argument. I rented a place and made a decision. He will paint, they will move in a week and she won’t bring up Fatmagul again.
Bedtime at the new house looks a lot more relaxed. They get into bed and assume their positions: side by side, facing up, hands to themselves. Kerim sighs. Fatma pulls a surprise move. She leans over and rests her head his shoulder! He puts his arm around her. He sniffs her hair. Oh, what joy.
Kerim tells her he was so scared when he saw the lights off and thanks her for not punishing him for what he did. What if I did like you, she asks, what if I left? No… don’t even say that, he replies, it hurts just to think about it. She won’t say that again.
Fatma ask when will Fahr go back. The 13th. She has exams on the 12th and 13th, but she wants to have the family over before they go. She will work it out.
Deniz waits with Kerim for Fatma to finish her exam. She thinks she did well. Deniz asks if they can invite Emre to dinner. Kerim mentions that Meryem and Kadir will come later because they are helping Rahmi with the new place. Fatma looks a little sad, but Kerim reminds her this is for the best.
Muka enters the new apartment and finds Rahmi having tea and laughing with Nafiye, the landlady. Nafiye is a cheerful, friendly woman. She shakes hands with Muka, it’s nice to meet you. Muka doesn’t exactly feel the same. She comments that when Rahmi spoke about Nafiye, she pictured a someone older. [is Muka jealous?] Would you like tea, Nafiye asks. Muka turns it down. Nafiye mentions she made some borek for Rahmi, too. In the Turkish, Nafiye calls Rahmi “abi” and Muka takes exception to that.
Nafiye has a daughter, so Muka thinks she’s married. Unfortunately, Nafiye is a widow. Her husband left her this apartment building, she survives on the rents. Rahmi comes back with an extra chair, but Nafiye says she has to go, she pats Rahmi on the arm, Muka takes notice and does not like it.
Dinner at Fatma and Kerim’s. Fahr has been manning the grill. They call him to sit. Kerim goes over to his dad and Fahr is very emotional because he’s about to leave his son. Kerim assures his dad they won’t be separated, they will see each other often. Fahr hopes so. Emre says he will take charge of the grill.
Fatma comes out with little gifts for Meryem and Jenny for Mothers’ Day.
Emre tells Mehmet he’s gotten a medical discharge from the army.
Rahmi stops by and Fatma is thrilled and relieved to see him. He says he can’t stay, his taxi is waiting. He just came to say goodbye to Fahrettin Bey. Everyone insists that Rahmi sit but he can’t. He doesn’t even accept a “to go” sandwich from Fatma. Muka has dinner waiting. Fatma walks a few steps with Rahmi, Kerim joins them. She asks about the kids. They’re fine. Murat is excited about the “new house”. Kerim offers his help if Rahmi needs it. Rahmi tells them to go back to the table, he wishes Fatma good luck on her exams. They hug. Fatma is sad. Kerim says it will get better with time. Hope so, she says.
Last night in Kadir’s house and Muka mopes and scoops up a few last things. She stops in Fatma’s room and opens the wardrobe. [Turkish] Wicked girl, you did what you wanted to do, you got us out of this house. She sees a wedding pic and curses Fatma. The place is full of pictures from the wedding.
Muka picks one up. Fatmagul Hanım, life is treating you well, but you don’t know what I’m going to do to you. She smashes the picture on the edge of the table. Murat comes into the house to tell her Elif is crying. He asks why she broke the frame. An accident, she replies.
Meryem helps Fatma in the kitchen. She tells Fatma she passed the first test as a bride with great success. Now that they are alone, Meryem asks if everything is alright between her and Kerim. It’s fine, she says, I’ll never forget that night, but we talked about a lot of things until dawn. We left nothing unsaid.
Fatma is a little hesitant with this, but she tells Meryem, [Turkish] what also happened is… we were drawn closer. It was difficult for both of us. I can imagine, Meryem says, you should talk to Neziye about this. Yes. Meryem tells her she didn’t ask to meddle, she only cares that they are alright. We are, Fatma assures.
Nafiye stops by the Ketenci’s. There’s an apartment meeting next week, they need to choose a new assistant manager. Nafiye would like to propose Rahmi for the position. He’s surprised but delighted. Muka says no way, that kind of stuff is not for him. This doesn’t deter him. He wants to be considered. After Nafiye leaves Rahmi tells Muka never to treat him like that in front of others again. [We are seeing a new Rahmi. I like it.] Muka doesn’t like this change. She blames Fatmagul again! She swears she will cut her into pieces.
Selim has made his way back to Turkey and surprises Ayce as she works her legit tour business. She freaks out. She tells him to take off, she will try to get away and they can meet somewhere away from spying eyes.
Meltem is with Mert, her new beau. She reads the paper, Resat is discharged from the hospital. No news about Selim. And Meltem and Mert are in love after one week!
Ayce and Selim meet in a secluded spot. She thinks he’s crazy to have returned. He needs to see his father. He wants her help. Nothing she can do. They might be following her. She barely got away with the investigation. She warns him it is a matter of time before he is caught. He is adamant, he won’t go back without seeing his father. She will think about it. He tells her he didn’t come back just for his dad, he missed her. He gives her a little kiss.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The Yasarans are living with their ex-housekeeper, Yadigar. They have nowhere else to go. Resat is humiliated and depressed. He asks, where is Munir? Why hasn’t he come? Peri guesses he’s busy. She tells Resat that Hilmiye finally got permission to visit Erdo.
It’s time for his lunch but Resat wants to go out for a walk. Peri asks the last person working for them to go with Resat. The guy was outside looking at the job adds. The Yasarans can’t pay his salary any more. Yadi asks if Munir has been able to do something for them. He’s called everyone, Peri replies, he says no one wants to help us. Everyone is waiting like vultures for the end to come.
We see what Munir is up to. He is going around with a sob story, seeking help for the destitute Resat Yasaran who can’t even pay his hospital bills. And because of their situation, they need cash money. But don’t tell Resat, he’d be devastated. He’s finding suckers, who fall for it. He’s got a list of them in his black book and raking in the dough.
Hilmiye visits Erdo. He tells her he was talking to his father. Don’t worry, he’s not crazy. He sees him in his dreams and the dreams continue into the day. We talk, we share our sorrows. It does me good. He asks about Resat. He’s doing better, Hilmiye replies, he keeps asking for Selim. Erdo asks if there’s news about Selim. No.
Erdo says Munir hasn’t been coming and Hilmiye says he hasn’t been coming to see them either. Erdo slips his mom his confession. He tells her if I’m going to burn, they will burn with me. Resat, Selim, Munir. And it’s not just Fatma’s case. I wrote all the things that happened in the company, the bribes, the fraud, tax evasion.
Hilmiye doesn’t want Erdo to do this. There will be no turning back. Erdo feels he has nothing to lose. I’m finished, I’m tired. She urges him to wait. You don’t know what will happen in court. He says ok but asks her to hold on to the confession.
An envelope is delivered to Rose Kitchen from Australia. Fatma calls Kerim. Fahr sent plane tickets with open dates, but he would like us to come in July. He’s forcing us to have a honeymoon. Kerim says we’ll see. Fatma doesn’t want the tickets to go to waste. He can tell she’s anxious to go. So they will. Everyone is smiling… until someone shows up at the door.
We’ll have to wait and see who it is because we are out.
Love the comments HalimaCandy! Azize does have a bunch of black ops houses!
Thanks dondi356! It is hard not to nod off with these two hour episodes so late, I don’t care who is coming back from the dead!
The Spring/Rose translation on Telemundo was different than the Turkish so I kept the later.
Gracias Dondi, for another fun filled recap!
Fatma sure did forgive Kerim quickly but I get it, she wants to start her new life not have the same old argument!
I can't believe Muka's nerve! After everything still not even an ounce of regret and Fatma is to blame for everything?? How she can vilianize her victim is beyond me. I did crack up though when she said 'My name is Mukkades (or however you spell it) that was so random and hilarious.
I love the new Rhami!! It's beyond past time. I almost wish he would send her to jail. She deserves it, but Murat and Elif don't!
I knew it was only a matter of time until Selim did something stupid, honestly I am surprised it took this long I figured he would get caught the next day after he was left to his own devices.
Meltem's new beau seems like a nice guy but was I the only one who was suspicious solely based on the fact that she likes him so much? This girl has shown herself to have some seriously bad taste in men!
I find it seriously odd that Fahr tries to convince Kerim to move to Australia five minutes after he buys him a house and business in Istanbul. I mean I get it and it might not even be a bad idea but why buy the house and business just to move to another country months later? Though I suppose it's a safety net if he can't convince them to move.
Tnanks, novelera,VVS, and dondi, for your kind words . These crazy stories and the clever, kind, loving people here at caray are a nice getaway from the " slings and arrows of outrageous fortune."
Hercai2: #55 - p 1 of 4
As the episode opens, Cihan tells Nasuh that he will not live under the same roof as the person who shot Azat. They argue, and then Hazar tells Cihan that Miran will stay. If Cihan want to leave, he should go. Miran tells everyone that he and Reyyan are not moving to the Sadoglu mansion. They want to live in their cabin. Reyyan tells Cihan that Miran shot Azat to save him, but you (Cihan) wanted Miran to die. Cihan says they are leaving, and he summons Azat to come with them. Azat says that all these people are his family, no matter what. He says he will not leave with Cihan. Nasuh is pleased that Azat will stay. Nasuh says both Miran and Azat are his grandsons. No one will get special treatment.
At the Aslanbey konak (aka the cuckoo's nest), Gonul does not want to greet Cihan and his family. Sultana tells her, "You have to receive your guests, you are the lady of the house." A very reluctant Gonul greets Cihan and Handan.
Miran and Reyyan are still at the dinner at the Sadoglu konak. Reyyan is feeling somewhat ill. Miran wants to summon a doctor. She says there's no need for a doctor. Miran then puts his head near her belly and talks to the fetus: "Listen, lentil, don't tire your mother." Reyyan tells him she feels happy, she'd even dance if she weren't so shy. Miran would like to leave. Reyyan, however, has been looking forward to this moment for a long time, to be together as a family. She asks that they stay. Miran says, "Let's dance." He tells the musicians to play. Miran and Reyyan perform a lovely Turkish dance. Some of the others at the table clap in time with the music. At the end, everyone applauds. Hazar stands up to applaud and calls out "Beautiful!"
Azize has been watching all this from the entrance to the Sadoglu konak. After the dance, she walks away. Nasuh comes out to the street and calls to her. He asks whether Dilsah is alive. Azize says yes. He asks, "How could you raise a boy apart from his mother?" Azize seems very repentent for what she did. She says she will try to fix things, but Fusun is hard to combat. She tells Nasuh, "Fusun wants my name, she wants my fortune, she wants everything. That woman is very dangerous." She warns Nasuh, "Keep the family away from her. If she finds out that Hazar is our son, I'm sure she'll destroy everyone." Hazar comes out and is surprised and upset to see Azize and Nasuh talking. "What's this woman doing here?" he asks Nasuh. Turning to Azize, he says, "You wanted to kill me! You can't stand seeing me with Miran as father and son." Nasuh tries to tell Hazar, "It's not what you think." Hazar, however, remains in the dark. He tells Azize, "Leave us" and he pushes her away. Nasuh protests, and Hazar asks "What are you hiding? Why is she here?" Nasuh replies, "She wants peace." Hazar reminds Nasuh that in the past, he has hidden many things. "Don't do it again." Hazar then goes back inside the konak.
Gonul is unhappy. Fusun tells her, "If you're tired, you can go rest." Gonul replies, "It wouldn't be appropriate for me to leave my guests. But if you're tired, Fusun, you can go rest." Suddenly, Azize arrives. She claims she has come to see if her granddaughter is OK. Azize and Fusun get into an argument about who owns the mansion. Azize says she thinks perhaps she will donate the mansion. Cihan tells Azize, "We're trying to create with humanity what you destroyed with hate." The arguments are interrupted by the arrival of several police officers. They have come to arrest Harun, though no one explains why. Harun goes off with the police.
Hercai2: #55 - p 2 of 4
Miran and Reyyan have returned to the cabin. Miran is staring at a piece of paper. He tells Reyyan it's about a DNA test, so he can change his name to Sadoglu. Reyyan asks whether he is going to sign it. He tells her he doesn't like the name Aslanbey. "Is that the only reason you'll sign it?" she asks. He's not sure. She tells him that a piece of paper means nothing, what counts is how you feel. Miran says, "Everyting has happened so fast. It turns out that being a family isn't all that easy." Reyyan tells him she was very proud of him at the dinner tonight. "I fell in love with you again," she says.
At the cuckoo's nest, Yaren wants to take over the room previously used by Miran and Reyyan. She enters the room and looks around. She opens the wardrobe and begins removing Reyyan's clothes and throwing them on the floor. Gonul comes in. Yaren informs her that ReyMir are no longer here, so she has decided to use the room. "With whose permission?" asks an angry Gonul. "Reyyan may have been soft with you, but I am not Reyyan!" says Gonul. She grabs Yaren by the hair and drags her out of the room. She tells Yaren, "You're not the lady of the house. You're a parasite. I'll throw you and your husband out on the street." Gonul then tells Asiye to clean up the mess Yaren made, and she warns Yaren to stay out of ReyMir's room and out of Elif's as well. After Gonul leaves, Yaren says, "If you want war, you'll get it."
Back at the cabin, Miran asks Reyyan whether there is a way to tell the sex of a child before birth. Reyyan tells him there's something called the ring test. You attach a ring to a string and then hold the string up. If it moves forward and backward, it's a boy, while if it goes in a circle, it's a girl. Miran laughs but decides to try it. He ties his ring onto a string and then holds the string straight. It moves in a circle. He's delighted, it's a girl! Reyyan rightly points out that he was making it move that way. She tries the test, and this time it moves forward and backward--a girl. Miran laughs again. Reyyan tells him not to make fun of this, it's part of a tradition. Miran replies, "Boy or girl, it doesn't matter--it's ours. Our baby will be a work of art." Reyyan asks whether they should put the baby in a museum. In what may be a sign of hormonal mood shifts, she starts berating Miran for not wearing his ring all the time. FF>>
Handan and Cihan go to the police station to find out about Harun. Apparently Harun never arrived at the police station, and no one knew anything about a Harun Bakircioglu. Oops, looks like Azize's doings. Sure enough, Azize calls Fusun and says, "Give me Dilsah and I'll give you your son. You have until sunrise." Fusun lies to Cihan and Handan and claims that all is well. Harun was just taken to a different police station and the lawyer is taking care of it. Handan wants to take Yaren away from the Aslanbey konak, but Cihan thinks doing so would be inappropriate.
The scene shifts to a dark cave where Azize is holding a handcuffed Harun. Harun tells Azize she doesn't know how dangerous his mother can be. He then asks, "Why liberate Dilsah now, after all these years?" Azize says she is ending her venganza.
Harun tells her that his mother will get him out, but she won't give Azize what she wants. He then tries to make a separate arrangement. "I don't want anyone else to die or be hurt," he claims. "I'm the only one who can find Dilsah." Azize asks why she should trust Fusun's son. Harun replies, "I know all about you and your past, and I kept quiet."
Hercai2: #55 - p 3 of 4
Azize asks what Harun knows. He replies, "Ayse, Nasuh...if I had wanted to hurt you, I would have spoken. Aslan is dead [but he knows that that's not true, since he was in the room with Sultana when she was talking to the unconscious Aslan]. I don't want Gonul and me to be the next victims. I can give you Dilsah. I want her to be given alive--to Miran. I can tell my mother I escaped."
Zehra is putting her baby into the crib. She sees a piece of paper on the floor. It's the letter written by Dilsah that Miran gave to Hazar. Zehra asks herself whether she's jealous of a dead letter. The answer is clearly yes.
It seems that Harun may have persuaded Azize to release him, because we next see him back at the Aslanbey konak speaking with his mother. He tells her that he escaped. He asks his mother why she took Dilsah, and he asks that she call Miran and tell him to come and get Dilsah. Fusun asks, "And should I forget about Aslan?" Harun replies, "What happened to Aslan was Fusun's fault, and also Aslan's. And now you're holding Dilsah. People aren't toys," he tells her. Fusun replies, "Dilsah's son will have his mother, but before that, I want to break Azize's wings. Azize ruined my family. You ask me to show her mercy? Forget it. What happens afterward will be between Miran and Azize." Harun accuses her of trying to turn Miran into an assassin. "You want him to kill Azize."
The conversation between Harun and his mother ends, and he goes off with Yaren. Fusun then calls Azize and says, "They say a bird in the hand is better than one in the bush, but you've lost your bird in the hand. Harun is here with me." Azize tells her that if she had wanted to hurt Harun, Fusun would never have seen him again. "I just wanted you to see what I am capable of," Azize tells her. Fusun claims that Azize wanted to use Dilsah to keep Miran, because Miran was her strength. But now she has lost her strength. "Now you don't have either prey or bait," Fusun gloats. Azize assures her, "I'll find Dilsah." "How?" asks Fusun. "You'll see very soon, Fusun."
Gonul is distraught because Sultana is leaving for a while. She proposes that she and Sultana leave together. Sultana tells her, "If you come with me, we won't have a place to come back to. Let me heal my wounds." Sultana hugs Gonul and then leaves the konak. As she is leaving, Sultana embraces Fusun, who asks, "Aren't you seeking venganza for your son?" Sultana replies, "I'll leave that for the Judgment Day." As she leaves in the car, she says to Gonul (who can't hear her), "I will reunite you with your brother." And once Fusun is alone, Fusun says, "Gonul, you're my blood, so I won't kill you, but I will make you suffer. I will tame you."
Zehra asks Hazar why he was carrying a letter that Dilsah wrote. Hazar tells her that Miran gave it to her. He adds, "Zehra, she's not even alive." Zehra replies, "The letter was written to Miran. You have no right to keep it."
There's an episode with Miran and pomegranates, but it's late and I'm running out of steam. FF>>
Azize tells Esma that Firat deserves to know the truth. Esma says he won't even talk to her. Azize suggests that she tell Firat that she, Azize, was the one who killed Nihat. "I owe you that much," she says to Esma. Mahmoud takes Esma to see Firat.
Hercai2: #55 - p 4 of 4
Sultana has the car make a stop. She comes to see Azize. When Azize opens the door, Sultana slaps her and says, "You think the world revolves around you, and we are your slaves. But we're not. You brought only evil in our lives. Everything you look at is destroyed." She then tells her about how Azize's son Ahmet pleaded with her to save him. We get a flashback to the scene of the burning car, Ahmet's pleading, and the car exploding. Sultana tells Azize, "You're going to pay for all your sins." Azize asks Sultana to forgive her as she has forgiven Sultana.
The episode ends much the way it began, with another round of Cihan and Nasuh yelling at each other. Nasuh is angry that Cihan went to the Aslanbey konak and had dinner with Fusun. "That woman is the enemy and she will never set foot in this house, and you shouldn't have eaten at her house." Nasuh is in full bull mode. Cihan is equally furious. He insists that Fusun Aslanbey is now his consuegra and she can come to this house whenever she wishes. Cihan says if Nasuh is the boss of this house, he (Cihan) is the boss of his family, and if Nasuh doesn't value what Cihan does, Cihan will leave. "But don't think that I wil leave without claiming my rights and my children's rights. And then I will leave." He storms out and the episode ends.
What a terrific recap Juanita. There was so much going on last night!
Once Cihan and Handan left the dinner, it was a nice family gathering. I also enjoyed the beautiful ReyMir dance. Watching like a thief in the night, Azize finally saw what could have been for her. I don’t know how she can repair the damage even “giving” Dilsah back to Miran. Nasuh continuing to lie to Hazar is going to come back and bite him in the como se llama.
The Gonul vs. Fusun battle of the mansion is entertaining to watch. Azize and her grand entrance was also entertaining. I hope Harun really does want to stop the venganza and he gets Dilsah back with Miran.
Gonul vs. Yaren was also impressive. For the first time, I felt a little bit of redemption hope for Gonul.
If Dilsah does reenter the picture, I don’t think Zehra needs to worry about Hazar. He seems to be a very good family man. If she gets the jealousy bug though, that might drive Hazar away.
Sultana sure is brave. I was glad she told Azize the truth about the way abusive son died in that car accident.
The Nasuh vs. Cihan battle is also very interesting. Now that we know the back story about Hazar, Cihan is always going to play second fiddle.
I am worried about Esma. She looked so sad sitting alone as Reyyan was singing and we saw that montage of bedroom scenes.
These 2-hour sessions are so hard to recap Juanita. Out of curiosity, I watched the pomegranate scenes this morning in the Turkish version. Miran took the pomegranate from the ground outside a farm on his way home from the market. Reyyan is mortified to find out the he did not get the blessing of the property owner to take the fruit. (She thinks back to that disturbing dream with the pomegranate falling and breaking).
She makes him go back to the farm to ask to take the fruit. The old farmer does not want Miran’s money and makes him work for the blessing. Actually, he makes both Reyyan and Miran work. I think it was meant to be a life lesson for the younger generation. In the end, he pays them for their work with two pomegranates and Reyyan invites him to visit them as he is all alone.
Thank you Juanita! As you said yesterday, ¡Ojalá! this is the last two-hour marathon recap you (we) have to do!
Thank you, dondi356. I liked the side notes, especially about Muka.
I am glad Fatmagul decided to let go of this Mustafa incident and move on with her life. It's better to be happy and in love. Mustafa is gone, they can turn the page.
Mukaddes is in her style. These people are too kind. You want to go? Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
JUANITA:EXCELLENT RECAP... CONCISE SUMMATIONS... !! APPRECIATE IT MUCHO!!!!
YES ...FUSUN you are giving them a run for their money...She didnt come to -play-she-came-to-Slay!!!!!!
Sultana you told Azize abt leaving your pyscho husband to die...Vaya VayaVaya!! well Mashallah..you are feeling your wheaties!!!!!
during the dance I had No pity for Azat..you had a women that loved you..so enjoy the dance..
Gosh Miran moves like a stiff stick!! but his swear -on -the- earth -to- heart move is smooth move!!
Juanita, thank you for the detailed recap . It is interesting watching folks going back and forth from one konak to the other like musical chairs. I
Is Harun really going to bring Dilsuh to Mir ? Can't wait to see what she looks like.
Sultana is feeling very brave since Azz has fallen from power . That was quite a slap she gave Azz.
Funsan is scarier than Azz. Small but cranky and a legend in her own mind.
The Yaren and Gonul throw down was a new twist. Gonul, like mom, is feeling pow erful now that both AZz and Mir have left the building .
My favorite part was the dance ....very beautiful and sensual . Mir has some moves , and Rey is so graceful. Mir is fascinated by that belly and Rey's every symptom and craving .
Thanks very much, VVS and Halimacandy, for your supportive, helpful, and delightful comments.
VVS, thanks very much for supplying the scenes with the pomegranates. My energy was flagging, and I was hoping someone would supply what I skipped over. And you did! As always, I loved your wording, esp. your describing Azize standing at the entrance to the Sadoglu konak "watching like a thief in the night...what could have been for her." And yes, I too hope Harun really does want to stop the venganza and get Dilsah back with Miran. I'm still not sure how far to trust Harun, though he seemed pretty sincere last night. As for Zehra, I'm afraid there's very little "if" about it: she seems definitely to have the jealousy bug. And with good reason. I find it hard to imagine Hazar being just "good friends" with the love of his life.
Halimacandy, I always enjoy your comments. This time I was particularly taken by ".She didnt come to -play-she-came-to-Slay!!!!!" I'm afraid you're right. And even when Fusun doesn't plan to slay, she does plan to make life miserable for anyone who doesn't agree with her, as we saw last night in her comment about not killing Gonul but making her suffer.
Dear dondi, thank you for every word including your observations, which I always agree with .
I am glad that Fatmagul forgave Kerim fairly quickly . Muk , how ever, has finally alienated Fatmagul. Basta.
it was funny watching how jealous she was of the cheerful landlady who seemed to like Rahmi so much. I feel bad that Rahmi is missing happy times with The people he loves and who love him because of that albatross MuK around his neck . Rahmi is truly a good, kind soul.
Really do not care about poor little rich girl Meltem's new boyfriend. The rich get richer and find new boyfriends . Whatever. Is he a good catch ? Well, that bar has been set really low by Bachelor # 1 and #2.
Many thanks, Susanlynn, for your perceptive and delightful comments. I loved your describing the folks moving back and forth between the konaks "like musical chairs."
I too am really eager to see what Dilsah looks like. She's really only about 50, but I can't ignore what being held prisoner for 30 years is likely to do to a person's physical and emotional health. Then again, in diziland, apparently all things are possible.
I'm so glad you really enjoyed the dance. It was my favorite part of the episode as well.
Thanks so much, Juanita. Excellent recap of a "Where's Waldo?...errr "Where's Dilsah?" episode. Harun is sort of a wild card. Can't really tell what's going on with him. He came across as devious and maybe abusive at the beginning. Now he just seems appalled by his mother's machinations. And what happened to his fervent desire to unload Yaren once Aslan did his thing? He just seems to let her pretend they're a loving couple.
Just a small correction. The dinner is at a restaurant that Nasuh had closed for his family dinner. It's not at the Sadoglu konak
It seemed to me that the dance ReyMir did was the same one they did when Miran took her to some sort of celebration in a village. In that one, IIRC, she had on that red dress that was shown in a photograph in Aslan's hidden room.
So glad Gonul told Ayise to lock ReyMir's bedroom at the Aslanbey konak. And every time Yaren gets her hair pulled or her face slapped, I am joyful. The actor portraying her often has only facial expressions to show us, but she's definitely good at being hateful.
So...Harun hasn't told his mother that Aslan is alive? I don't think he's going to die, at least not yet. There's a lot of the dizi yet to come, and I fully expect a horribly burned Aslan to come once again for Reyyan.
I liked the pomegranate scene. I always like the noble older men that are shown in dizis. This guy started off pretty salty, but in some ways he reminded me of the old gentleman who saved Reyyan when she was running through the streets in her soiled wedding gown.
How these people keep changing up! Wasn't Gonul collaborating with Handan at least once to foil ReyMir being together? Now she hates her guts (like the rest of us).
Thanks SO much, dondi, for another fine recap. This dizi roars along and is "must see TV".
So, I'm starting to call the ones I despise the most the M&Ms (Muka and Munir). I keep remembering the early scenes when the two of them were bullying Fatmagul, who was almost catatonic. They wanted her to hurry up and marry Kerim so that the Yasarans would be off the hook for what they did.
And it also looks like everyone except M&M are somewhat repentant. Erdo is writing a confession and getting advice from "the ghost of uncle past". Selim has been a bit remorseful at times.
The Emre and Mehmet battle for Deniz is kind of silly. And I'm pretty sure Mehmet is out of the running.
They did it again. Like the house the family first moved into in Istanbul, Rahmi's apartment is drab and empty. OK, I may be commenting on an episode before a recap has been posted, but now it's very homey and full of furniture and wall decorations.
Not sure if they'll go there, but Muka needs to get hit by a bus so Rahmi can end up with the kindly landlady.
Thanks very much, novelera, for your very helpful and insightful comments about this "Where's Dilsah" episode. Oops, you're right, of course, the Sadoglu dinner took place in a restaurant Nasuh had closed for his family dinner. Thanks for the correction.
"Wild card" is a very apt description of Harun. I'm still rather confused about the relationship between him and his mother. I think they worked together for a while, with Fusun apparently providing much of the information that was contained in the notes Aslan wrote, so I assume they had similar goals mostly focused on undermining Azize. I don't know whether Harun always distrusted his mother, but he certainly seems to distrust her now. I think he was genuinely surprised and displeased that she wouldn't immediately liberate Dilsah and return her to Miran. And he's also unhappy that Fusun is hoping that Miran will become an assassin and kill Azize. So perhaps Harun really means it when he says he doesn't want anyone else to die or be hurt, desires his mother clearly doesn't share.
Yes, I too remembered the first time we saw Reyyan and Miran do that dance (or a very similar one). I liked the dance then, and I liked it even more last night.

The Rose Kitchen visitor is Hacer with baby Murat. After the shock of her unscheduled appearance wears off, she is welcomed. We can see this isn’t easy for Fatma, and she gives Hacer her condolences. Hacer tells them she’s going to Germany with Sami to divorce her scumbag husband but she will be back for the trial. [is she thinking this baby coulda, woulda been hers?] Meryem and Rahmi give their blessings to the little one, Fatma adds, may he have a good life [better than his dad’s no doubt].
Rahmi asks the baby’s name. Murat… Hacer explains, his father wanted that name. Awkward silence. A trace of sadness Fatma’s face? Meryem and Rahmi leave Fatma with Hacer. Hacer notices Fatma’s wedding pic and says she was a beautiful bride. Fatma is sorry they couldn’t thank her properly for what she did on their wedding day.
Hacer recollects the first time she came to Rose Kitchen—it was the beginning of the end. I was the first to start the fire, she says, and the rest followed. But despite everything, I have no regrets. Fatma asks, he’s 18 days old, right? Yes, the same as your marriage. No one mentions Musto, but his ghost is hanging around somewhere.
What was in that letter, Hacer asks. They told me he wrote one last letter before he died. You received it. All I have is his ring. I didn’t want anything else. I’m going to give that to my baby when he grows up. Hacer says she’s going to tell Murat a story to make him proud of his father [essentially she will lie]. He won’t know his dad didn’t love his mom. I will never tell him the truth. I will tell him about the Mustafa that didn’t know the Yasarans. [wait until the kid is old enough to google]
Fatma smiles. She gives the baby a sniff and takes his little hand.
Resat is out walking with the help. He tells the guy he wants the girls address. He wants to see Fatmagul. I need to speak with her, he says.
Muka’s having a rough day. The upstairs neighbors are making noise. Elif cries. And of course, this is Rahmi and Fatma’s fault. May god give them punishment.
Hacer leaves Rose Kitchen. And that’s the end of Turkish ep 76
Cut: Fatma brings lunch to Kerim’s workshop, enough for everyone in the shop to enjoy. She also tells him she passed her driving theory test. All she needs is the road test to get her license.
A client of Kerim’s, Osman, shows up and is so happy with his work, he wants to give Kerim a job at his vacation house. Osman says he will be there on the weekend and Kerim can come to take measurements and give a quote. Osman says Kerim should bring Fatma and they will be his guests for the weekend. Fatma says she has to work and Osman says his wife is a customer at Rose Kitchen. Kerim says he will come and Osman hopes Fatma will come too. Fatma stays to have lunch at the workshop.
Muka has made her way over to the restaurant. She asks Mehmet to get Rahmi as she waits outside the gate. She’s there to get money to go shopping. Rahmi asks her to come in but Muka doesn’t want to see Fatma. Rahmi says Fatma isn’t there, but Muka still won’t go in. He goes to get his wallet and she complains she has to wait outside like a beggar. Meryem spots her and asks her to come in and Muka totally snubs her. Did you like that little trick Rahmi played on Muka, that Fatmagul was coming?
As Rahmi hands over the money, a taxi pulls up and Resat gets out. Rahmi hustles over to him, what are you doing here? What do you want? I need to speak with Fatmagul, he replies. Rahmi tells him to leave or he will call the police. Resat says he wants to apologize to Fatma.
Meryem meets Resat by the door and Muka stands right there to watch what happens. Meryem asks what are you doing here? Resat repeats he wants to apologize to Fatma. Fatma isn’t here, please go, Meryem replies. Resat says he is very regretful. Rahmi calls him a liar. I came to put myself at your feet, to apologize, he says, my conscience is suffering. They are all a little shocked at Resat’s condition. I need to talk to Fatmagul, Resat repeats.
Too late Resat Bey, Meryem answers, you should have done this before, on the day I came to see you when this all started. Not a year and a half later. Not after all the pain and suffering you caused Fatmagul. You are absolutely right, Resat agrees. Yes, we were right, Meryem replies, you tried all the tricks in the book to prove otherwise. You didn’t succeed and you never will.
Resat tries a sympathy play. As you can see, I am paying for all my wrongdoings. I tell you from the bottom of my heart that I regret everything. Rahmi says we don’t believe you. Why should we? You are saying this just because the trial is coming near. You don’t care about Fatmagul. Meryem adds, if you really had regret you wouldn’t be here bothering Fatmagul. Go to the court and tell the truth.
Resat says he is serving his punishment. I have lost everything, my wife, my money, and most importantly as you can see, my health. I want you to help me. I have to ask Fatma before the trial. If I am sentenced in this condition… Rahmi exclaims, ah, you see… he’s thinking about himself. [Muka, wipe that smirk off your face!] Why didn’t you say this from the beginning, Meryem asks? You didn’t come because of your conscience. You are here because you’re afraid of Fatmagul. Get out.
On his way out Resat has some words for Muka. Everything is your fault. I found out what had happened from you. I was confused. Muka panics, what are you talking about? Before I could find out what really happened, you started negotiations. You didn’t give me a chance to think. Muka counters, if you had time, would you have turned your son into the police? You told me I had the option to negotiate, Resat says, you wanted to save Selim before I did. You are responsible for everything. Resat leaves.
Muka tries to deflect any culpability. Meryem and Rahmi walk away. Muka goes on attack. Resat told the truth? Kerim is right? Don’t forget what happened! Everyone should wash their mouths before opening them and causing more problems. I’m fed up with all of you! She leaves.
Kerim and Fatma finish lunch. Fatma asks if she will be alone this weekend. Kerim wants her to come along. No, it’s not fair to Meryem and she has her driving test. And besides, he’s going for the day and will come right back. What if there is rain, he asks, trees might fall, the river will flood? I might have to stay. He offers to speak to Meryem. He thinks she will say yes. He will get his work done in the day and at night they can stay in the same hotel they were in before. A mini-honeymoon. She will think about it.
Muka sits in the park and thinks about going to Resat that night. She calls Peri and accuses them of playing a game by sending Resat. Peri has no idea what she means. You won’t gain anything by trying to sacrifice me, Muka tells her. Your son is free because of me. You can’t make me pay for your mistakes. You can’t step on me and walk away. Peri is still at a loss. Muka continues to rant and tells her that Resat came begging for forgiveness, acting like his conscience was bothering him. Peri is shocked. Yes! And he’s blaming me, Muka says. She threatens to say more in court.
Fatma runs in to Esma on her way home. Esma totally ignores her. Another woman warns Esma to stay away from Fatma.
Meryem tells Kadir and Omer about Resat’s visit. Fatma calls her and she’s about to tell what happened with Resat but Kadir quickly says to invite them for a fish dinner tonight. Omer says he will get this added to the case. Rahmi says he will stop by at dinner so Murat can visit with his aunt.
Esma comes to apologize to Fatma. She says she’s not like the others. She just doesn’t want it to get back to her father. Fatma understands but she was hurt. She wants them to be friends. Esma gives her a hug and decides to stay for coffee because her parents aren’t home. But a minute later, her father arrives home and wonders where everyone is. He calls his wife who, happens to be visiting the Ketenci’s landlady. He orders her to come home immediately, and he’s really ticked that Esma is not with her.
On the way out, the wife, I’ll call her Hatice, notices Muka enter her apartment. Nafiye wants to introduce her, but Hatice wants nothing to do with any one in that family. Muka comes back out and overhears Nafiye say the husband is a good man… but she is a little..
Muka confronts the ladies. You know who’s an enemy when they talk behind your back. You have no shame gossiping about someone you don’t know. Nafiye lies and tells her they weren’t talking about her. Muka says don’t judge people by what you read in the newspaper. It’s a sin. You were talking behind my back because of Fatmagul and you don’t even know that I am a victim, too. Muka is off to the races with the victim speech. Nafiye tries to smooth it over with Muka. Muka goes back inside and complains to herself about Fatma enjoying her life while she is trapped.
Esma talks about not being able to continue her education at a university. Her father didn’t have money for her to take extra classes to pass the entrance exam and her mother has loaded her up with household chores so she doesn’t have time to study. Fatma shares that she’s studying for her HS degree and she just passed her driving theory test. Esma laments that she lives the life her parents chose for her. She can’t make her own decisions. She doesn’t think like her parents.
Esma admires Fatma because she fought for her rights. Fatma tells her she wasn’t alone. She mentions Rahmi, Kerim, Meryem and Kadir. They didn’t let her give up.
Esma’s mother returns home and Sukru is angry. He spots Esma at Fatma’s. He marches over there and drags her back home, beating her all the way while her mother tries to stop him and Fatma shouts. It’s horrible.
Dinner with Kadir and Meryem. Fatma says she wants them all to go to jail. She wants them to confess to their crimes. She wants to be able to hold her head up in the neighborhood. Fatma mentions that Esma was beaten just for talking to her. Can you imagine? I had to watch helplessly. The poor girl suffered because of me. Kerim says it’s not her fault, it’s that ignorant idiot’s fault. Kadir says Fatma’s fight has made those people uncomfortable. They are not angry at Fatma, it’s the darkness and ignorance inside of them.
Fatma says she hopes that Resat was sincere in what he said today. We see and hear Kerim scoff and we do too. Fatma continues, I hope he will go tell the truth when the time comes. Kadir tells her Resat was only thinking of himself.
Peri calls out Resat for going to Fatma to ask forgiveness. She thinks he must be up to something. He gets upset, look at me… I’m finished. Yes, I went to apologize. What else do I have to lose? My dignity? Munir shows up. He’s got paperwork to sell the house in Cannes. If they get some money from selling their foreign assets, they might be able to pay some debt. Munir says he’s been working nonstop but no one will give them money [liar!]
Resat asks about the trial. Could they end up in jail? Maybe they won’t put you in jail because of your health condition, Munir replies. What do you mean, maybe? Resat tells Munir to speak as a lawyer, give details. What’s happening? What are you doing? Munir assures him he is working hard for him. Munir also heard that Hilmiye has visited Erdo and asks how he’s doing. Hilmiye thinks that Munir hasn’t done much for her son either. Munir gets defensive and leaves. Hilmiye thinks that Muka might be able to help them.
Rahmi gets ready to take Murat to see Fatma. Muka forbids it. She starts to complain again about her life. Murat really wants to go to see his aunt and he also comments how much he loved the old house it had a big yard. It was great until your aunt kicked us out, Muka shouts. Rahmi says don’t say that. Muka mocks him and asks, am I wrong? Rahmi fires back, yes! You are wrong. We are here thanks to you. This is all your fault. Let’s go son. He leaves with Murat. Muka says, you will pay, Rahmi.
Resat tries checking his bank accounts. He gets password incorrect or username does not exist.
Peri calls Muka. Is there anything you can do for us, she asks? You tell me, Muka replies, it’s up to you. Peri asks her to convince Fatmagul. Muka suggest maybe they can help each other with the trial. As long as my name isn’t mentioned, I will say Resat is innocent. Peri says we shouldn’t talk on the phone, let’s meet. I’ll call you, Muka says.
Kerim brings up the weekend trip. Meryem thinks it’s a great idea. Fatma runs out of excuses not to go. They toast to Kadir’s hand getting better and to Fatma passing her test. Rahmi and Murat arrive and a good time gets even better. Murat tells Fatma they almost didn’t come. His mother didn’t want them to. She shouted and cried, Murat says, and said “they should come here.” Rahmi tells Murat not to say that. Murat turns to his dad and asks, didn’t we come here after you yelled at her? Meryem tells the boy he can come whenever he wants. His toys are still here.
Rahmi changes the subject, he asks Kerim about his business. And there’s other small talk. Meanwhile, Murat asks Fatma, you didn’t want us here? Why do you say that, Fatma replies. Then why did we move, he asks? I miss the yard, he says. Kadir tells Murat the garden is yours. You and your friends can come and play here all summer. Kerim says, our house has a yard, too. You can come and stay with us for a while. Murat says his mother would want him to. Meryem thinks things will get better.
Murat asks Fatma if she will make up with his mom. I don’t know, she answers. Your mother hurt me a lot and I can’t promise you. But I can promise you we will always be together until the last day of our lives. And with Elif, Murat asks? Elif, too.
Fatma is about to take her road test. Kerim waits. He gets a call from Osman. He won’t be at the house this weekend. His MIL got sick and is in the hospital. Fatma passes her road test. She says she will take Kerim on the trip this weekend. He congratulates her on another success.
Kerim calls the place where they stayed before. Hasan Bey remembers that was the time it poured rain and trees came down. Kerim asks to make a reservation for one night and Hasan asks if he wants two rooms again. Kerim laughs and says they had the wedding, one room is fine.
Fatma tells Rahmi she couldn’t sleep for thinking about what Murat said. Rahmi says not to mind it. Fatma replies, how can I? Murat is my life. I can’t live if he thinks I’m bad. She (Muka) is turning him against me. Rahmi tells her not to worry, she (Fatma) did nothing wrong. I told Muka this was all her fault.
Sinem shows up at Rose Kitchen. She was in the US two months for work. Now she’s come to talk to Fatma about something. She wants to write a book about Fatma’s story. Fatma’s not keen on the idea. Sinem says what Fatma went through was special. Yes, thanks to the newspapers, Fatma replies, everyone already knows my story. It’s difficult. Everyone stares. Everyone talks about me behind my back. It will get worse if you write the book. Sinem tries to talk her into it. Fatma says they haven’t even had the trial yet.
Meryem thinks it might be a good idea to get her story out there. You wanted to fight all those who talk bad about you. You have an opportunity to do it. Fatma asks if she will write about private stuff. Only if you want. Fatma says she will have to speak with Kerim and Kadir before making a decision.
Erdo is out in the yard and he has some flashbacks. He asks the guards to bring him more paper. Yasar enters the yard and Erdo hurries right over. Yasar isn’t so happy to see Erdo. Erdo asks him, what did Munir promise you to change your testimony? Nothing. Erdo says don’t lie. You tell me you turned me in for nothing? Well, you did it for nothing. Where is Munir now? Where are the things he promised you? Did you get the money? You won’t get anything because Munir is bankrupt and so are the Yasarans. Now you are alone here, just like me.
Munir has just exchanged money and he’s confronted by Resat and Peri. They followed him around. Did you exchange my money for foreign currency, Resat asks? What money? Peri says the money you begged for in Resat’s name. Munir says he’s busy and goes to leave. Resat gets a grip on the bag with the money. He raises his cane and threatens Munir. Munir denies, but Resat’s been calling around. He knows exactly what Munir has collected and from whom. Resat grabs the bag away.
Munir takes a page from Muka’s playbook and says he was only trying to help pay off the debts. Get out of my sight, Resat says. Munir calls after Resat that he is doing him wrong. Resat tells him to call the police if he wants and let’s call everyone who gave you money. Peri tells her brother she is ashamed of him.
Meltem and Mert. He asks her to come over before he leaves on a flight to Moscow tonight. Looks like he might have bought something for her at Tiffany’s. Meltem arrives and Mert is in a tux. Candles are all around. He pulls a box out of his pocket and reveals a ring. Benimle evlenir misin? Will you marry me? She’s in shock. Will you be my wife? She gives him a little kiss. I know you were hurt, he says, and it’s hard for you to trust someone again. But I want to make you happy if you will allow. She says yes.
Fatma and Kerim pack for their trip. He asks her if she has decided what to tell Sinem. She’s still thinking. She says this is his story, too. What do you think? Kerim tells her this is her story. She is the one who should decide. But I’m going to talk about how we overcame everything, she says. Kerim replies, if you want to teach them a lesson, if you want to give hope to people like us, you need to tell the whole story. Everything you’ve been through. Tell them without being afraid. She gives him a hug.
As they leave the house, they pass Esma who is taking out the trash. She is badly bruised. She looks at them and walks away. Kerim is upset he wants to go talk to Esma’s father. Fatma tells Kerim let’s just go. You can’t reason with him and he will get even more angry.
Meryem speaks to Kadir who is with Omer, and they are heading to the cops and the prosecutor to talk about Resat.
Rahmi and the kids arrive at the Rose Kitchen, Muka is taking the day to go shopping he says. Murat tells that his parents were fighting again. She wanted them out because she was mad.
Muka calls Peri and says they can meet at her place. Peri gives Yadi’s address. Muka’s coming over now.
As they drive, Fatma and Kerim spot Muka at the bus stop. Fatma wants to call Rahmi, and Kerim says don’t upset him. Fatma is worried about the kids, but Kerim says they must be with Rahmi. Kerim thinks it’s better to mind their own business, so Muka doesn’t get angry.
Munir calls Resat but he doesn’t take the call.
Yadi’s doorbell rings and Resat freaks out, thinking it’s Munir. Yadi opens the door, and it’s Selim! Perihan hugs him and cries. Selim looks at his dad and says, I couldn’t stay. Resat cries and hugs him, even though he calls Selim stupid for coming back.
And we are out.
Many thanks, Nett, for this rapid, succinct recap that manages to capture everything important.
The transformation in Azize continues to occur. Clearly, redemption is on the way, but not before she is made to suffer. Some of the people she cares most about--her son (Hazar), her grandson (Miran), and perhaps Reyyan--all think she is evil incarnate and want absolutely nothing to do with her. Reyyan's inability to remember what happened when she became ill out in the field means that Azize won't get credit for her efforts to save her. It's also quite possible that if Miran et al. find out that Azize gave Reyyan some herb to drink, they'll assume that's what poisoned her or made her lose one of the twins, rather than realizing (as the doctor explained) that it was the herb that helped the other twin to survive.
I wondered who Harun was talking to in the car, and I like your suggestion that perhaps it was Dilsah.
I do have a question. Miran and Reyyan clearly have no trouble making and receiving phone calls inside the cabin and, I think, right outside it as well. Why, then, isn't there phone service in the field near the cabin?
Several times in this week's episodes, Zehra has been portrayed somewhat unsympathetically. Certainly that was true in tonight's episode, with her ugly facial expressions when sitting with Reyyan in the hospital room and then her lighting into Hazar for not backing up her suggestion that Reyyan move to the konak and her accusing him of caring more for Miran than for Reyyan. I wonder whether the writers are making Zehra more unsympathetic to make room for Dilsah's coming back into Miran's and Hazar's lives. I guess we'll see.
Again, thanks very much, Nett.
Thank you Dondi! I can't think you enough for all the hard work you've put in recapping this show for us day after day and week after week. Like Novelera said, it's must-see TV! I don't remember the last time I watched a show where I didn't get to the 'I can't wait until the end' feeling way before the last episode, but I don't feel it about Fatma. This one is going to end way too soon. It's so well written and compelling I could keep watching for a long time.
This episode, however, was sort of frustrating, everyone blame everyone. First, Hacer with her a 'Mustafa who never met the Yeserans', so Mustafa isn't responsible for his own choices, he didn't make his own decisions? It's all the Yeseran's fault? I mean yes, they are horrible people but everyone in this has met them and the good chose to do good, and your psychopath ex-husband was already a bad guy even before the Yeserans took advantage of his tendenacies.
Then Resat, and I agree 100% with Meryem if he was sorry he wouldn't have come, but he actually has the nerve to beg for mercy after everything? Fatma should have to suffer his presence, to talk to him just so he can escape jail time? And then he blames Muka (that one didn't bother me too much!) The highlight was how Rhami handled it. This new Rhami doesn't suffer fools and takes no BS from anyone! I like it!!!
Muka calling anyone else shameless is laughable! That woman is so miserable and you are right it's a shame that she is pulling Rhami away from time with everyone who loves him because she can't be human. Still plotting, still offering to hurt Fatma to save her own skin. She has learned nothing and she has zero regrets. Such a horrible person...
I knew Selim would do something stupid and I am guessing he is in jail now, but I haven't watched yesterday's episode yet. Oh, how the mighty have fallen, and Peri actually thinks Muka can help them?? lol
Looking forward to seeing the little mini-honeymoon for the newlyweds, although maybe Kerim should have told Fatma his work thing got canceled. But maybe a surprise is okay too.
I could probably go on and on and on, but I have to go to work instead! Hope everyone has a great day! :)
Thank you, dondi356.
I think the main purpose of Hacer's visit was to confirm that Mustafa's last letter was for Fatmagul. And she did. She didn't even insist about what was in it - it was clear. Well, she can turn the page now.
When they convinced Fatmagul to go to the weekend getaway they commented it could be like a small honeymoon. That brought a smile to her face. Later when they were packing for the trip she briefly considered packing her sexy lacy nightie but then changed her mind and took her everyday one. She had the part about the honeymoon in the back of her mind.
I so dislike when I have to play catch-up, but working many days and long hours as of late, so it gets difficult to get to the forum or even watch an episode.. That being said, thank you so much dondi356, VVS and Juanita for your EXCELLENT, concise recaps! I appreciate it more than you know!
I did get to watch some of last night’s episode and thank you Nett for another well done, clear and to the point recap! I really dig the “bullet points!” To be honest, I’m getting really tired of this revenge crap! It’s so overdone, and it’s clear that the gassy looking Fusun was brought in to neutralize the previous evil Azize. Azize’s redemption is apparent, but she still need to pay for all the sorrow and tragedy that she’s caused. So why does it have to be at Reyyan and Miran’s expense? Miran has more than paid for what he did to Reyyan, and they’ve really done nothing to anyone except fall in love. And why does Azize think that bringing Dilsah back is going to absolve her of all of her sins? I don’t get it!
I think Azize’s finding and helping Reyyan is a twisted play on “Snow White,” cause we all know that she was the evil queen and that if she hadn’t found out that Hazar was her son when she did, she probably would’ve poisoned Reyyan herself. That was an awful lot of liquid that Azize squeezed out of that plant! Like ALOT! Juicy plant I guess, lol. And how did the Doc know that Reyyan was carrying identical twins???? My medically inclined mind, lol, questions this. But it looks like Nasuh is TOTALLY team Azize/Ayse now, and this fact is definitely going to cause problems moving forward. I suspect that Hazar may never accept her, and 2nd son Cihan will have more ammunition to rebel. He’s such a pinworm with his pinhead of a wife. They are sooooooooo SUCKENING!
Feel sorry——-NOT AT ALL—— for Yaren. She’s a crybaby like her daddy, but also a petty, plotting snake like him too. I’m glad Gonul is making her life difficult. Will Firat now claim his rights as the real heir of the Aslanbey konak? He should and kick Fusun’s gassy looking azz out, and take her cane so she has to limp out, lol. But Fusun is another one who gets these henchmen from who knows where to do her bidding???? And I’m also stymied by this new and improved Harun??? And we’re probably going to be subjected to more Aslan?……this dizi is starting to EXHAUST me 🥵
I agree with you Juanita about Zehra…..what’s going on with her? I think Dilsah’s return has a lot to do with it, but I betcha that Dilsah is either going to be crazy or get crazy just like Aslan…..
Thanks again Nett! 💯
Dear Dondi, thank you so much for yet another fabulous retelling of every detail of this saga . I don't know how you do it, but I am so happy that you do. I sm appreciative of you time, talent, and effort . You. Are. A. Rock . Star . You were the one who recommended this story to me . Thank you . After seeing Engin in three excellent dizis, I will have to find another to watch.
Love that Kerim and Fatmagul are getting away from it all on a little trip . I know that just a few days away from the daily grind has always been effective in my life for taking a break and putting life into perspective.
In real life, people project their faults and actions onto others as Muk does. She just cannot seem to stop doing things that harm others ,and she cannot understand that these actions are wrong. We never find out her back story other than getting pregnant out of wedlock by that equally despicable guy. Something , someone made Muk the cruel , unfeeling person she is . Our backgrounds shape us , so I cannot help but wonder what shaped Muk into the negative, destructive person that she is. I have always seen fatmagul as Cinderella and Muk as the jealous wicked stepmother \ stepsister. Tale as old as time with Kerim the prince who eventually rescues her despite the awful start to their relationship.
I hate to see this show end . I would like to see more .
Thanks so much, Nett, for your excellent, clever recap. I enjoyed it very much.
Carmella, Mr. Google tells me that identical twins share a placenta, while fraternal ones each have their own. So maybe that's how the doctor could tell the twin who didn't make it was identical. Are they referring to the child using the masculine? Or is it just the fact that Spanish uses the masculine when the sex is unknown. I know nieto was used.
I am now thinking that Mahfuz actor was wearing a curly wig and might have rebelled. The imprisonment could have been a way out for him.
Juanita, I also was wondering why, within sight of the cabin, Azize had no signal. Of course it was to ramp up the suspense. Of course we all knew Reyyan was not going to die. But losing one twin was quite the twist. I actually thought she'd lose the baby and we'd have lots of grief. Dizis really ramp up grief.
Yep, annoying Zehra is back. And she's her usual stupid self. She wants to drag ReyMir back to Toxic Handan and Evil Cihan.
I am really liking the Zeynep and Firat pairing. They have had the most normal beginning to a relationship. She will definitely help Firat get right with his mother.
I wondered how soon that lentil heartbeat could be detected. Mr. Google says it could be as early as 6 weeks, but more likely 12. And didn't they show a bit of a belly on Reyyan during the sonogram?
Well, I actually think Fusun is worse than Azize. And the actor portraying her is not as skillful as the Azize one. I'm kind of hoping for a back story about how and why she stayed away so long from her Aslanbey home.
So Yaren didn't get to rule the roost at the Aslanbey konak and has now made up a story about cruel Gonul. I am not sure Azat believed her when he left to talk with Gonul. Wait until she tells him about Yaren wanting to take over Reyyan's space.
Thanks, dondi, for your well-written recap. We all really appreciate your hard work.
It's hard to tell if Muka misses the big house more or the opportunity to snoop. She's managed to have the whole apartment building's inhabitants dislike her.
The actor playing Resat is doing a good job portraying his ailment. He had a heart attack, I thought. But his symptoms look like a stroke.
Susanlynn, excellent Cinderella analogy! And, as others have said, it's quite refreshing to see Rahmi refuse to be cowed by Muka. All through the dizi I've had the impression that he hasn't dared to cross her because he feels inferior due to his mental limitations. And, of course, she doesn't hesitate to threaten him with taking his children.
Munir is like something you scrape off the bottom of your shoe. Imagine calling all his family's friends, friends of his own sister, to extort money for himself.
Just a small factoid related to what you said, novelera. It's true that in most cases, identical twins share a single placenta. But in about 20% of cases, there are two placentas. That was the case with my identical twin granddaughters. We could never tell them apart, but their parents insisted that they weren't identical because there were two placentas. A DNA test at age 1 year made it clear that they are identical.
Thank you Nett for the on point recap. It works well for these longer episodes. Loved reading everyone's comments! I asked the same question about Azize not having cell service right on top of the cabin.
Great to see you back in the loop carmella! I always miss you comments but know you are busy. I know the nursing business is hard, hard work and long, long hours. Thank you for what you do!
I think Fusun is worse than Azize. Who kills a baby? That was just sad. I wish they would have told Reyyan right away, the prolonging will only make matters worse.
I also like Zeynep and Firat. We know little about her. I sure hope she isn't some resurrected, long lost Aslanbey or Sadoglu baby!
I thought this was an excellent novela, but without dondi's insight, it would have been much less enjoyable/understandable. I am sorry to see it end. I loved reading all the comments. Perhaps I will participate more in a future novela. As it is, I am looking forward to a little more free time. Two hour episodes are exhausting! Thank you, dondi and everyone!
