Ayce and Selim hideout, waiting for a chance to escape. Ayce goes out to get food and comes back with the news that Erdo’s been deported. Ayce has a newspaper article about them: “Malta Fugitives”.
Work continues on the house. There’s a play at Murat’s school that Muka and Rahmi are attending. Meryem and Fatma head back to Rose Kitchen to take over. On the way out they see the neighbor girl (Esma) and greet her. She greets them back and wishes Fatma well with the house. Meryem and Fatma walk on. Then Esma’s mother comes out and asks who she was talking to. No one, Esma replies.
Muka worries that the mailman won’t come before she has to leave. Mehmet asks when Kerim’s sister will arrive for the wedding. Muka tries stalling but it’s time to go. As soon as Muka and Rahmi turn the corner, the mailman shows up. Mehmet asks him to put the letters on the table.
As they walk, Fatma tells Meryem she hasn’t had time to study for her exams. Meryem says she can start again after the wedding. They walk past the tea house and the men glare at them. Fatma says she’s going to sign up for driving lessons, too and she needs a picture for that.
Meryem mentions she should have another wedding certificate photo taken. Fatma thinks they might not let her do that. How can we say they want to change ugly photos? How can we explain? Meryem suggests saying that the cert is lost and adds, you don’t have to give them any explanations.
Musto speaks with a cellmate away from the others. My ex-wife is about to give birth. Is there any way I could contact her? Anyone have a cell phone? I’ll pay. The guy says there’s no phone, are you trying to get us in trouble? No, no, Musto replies.
Another man overhears and asks, you need a telephone? Must be important. Musto says yes. I could tell, the mate replies, you put your tail between your legs to ask us for it. Another says, now you want to talk. Musto asks again for a phone. The response is, are you crazy? Even if we had a phone, no one would give it to you. You don’t exist here, you are just a buzzing fly. Musto is disheartened. One mate looks like he might help.
Rose Kitchen is busy and Fatma and Meryem hustle to get into the swing. Fatma takes the letters and tosses them aside. She notices there’s one from Musto and tells Meryem. Fatma is angry. She doesn’t want to read it. But Meryem opens it: Fatmagul, my love, it can’t be what they said. You can’t marry that man. Damn you, Meryem, whispers. Musto's letter continues, what Mukaddes wrote means nothing to me. I want you to tell me the truth.
Fatma asks what does he say? Meryem is in utter disbelief. My God, Mukaddes… Mukaddes wrote a letter to Mustafa. What?! Fatma grabs the letter from Meryem and reads it.
That evening, Fatma rips into Muka. Why are you writing him letters?! Why did you do this without my knowledge?! Muka’s on the defense, I did it so he would stop writing. I didn’t have any bad intentions. [may lightning strike her] Besides, look at how he responded. He didn’t believe what I said. Rahmi says it was none of her business. Fatma continues the interrogation. Why did you do this without asking me? Why?!
Muka assures her she did this in good faith. [nothing good about this woman!] Don’t do this, Fatma shouts, don’t write him! Kerim takes a turn, why did you interfere? You should have told me. Fatma adds, I don’t want you to do anything on my behalf! I wrote it to prevent an argument between you and Kerim, I swear, Muka replies. I did it to avoid problems before the wedding, I’m not the evil one. Muka is ready to play the victim again. [where is that lightning?] Fatma tells her, do not meddle any more, I don’t want you to. Stay away! She slaps the letter down on the table.
Here come the crocodile tears. Muka sniffles, you don’t appreciate my good will. Kerim says exactly what we are thinking: no one expects good things from you, Mukaddes. Muka cries, I wish my hand was broken so I couldn’t write! Don’t say that Rahmi tells her, you shouldn’t have done this. Fatma says please don’t do this again. I won’t, Muka replies, I won’t interfere. May God punish me if I do.
Meryem speaks up. Just don’t do it. This is the last time, agreed? That’s enough, Muka whines, for the love of God, that’s enough. Fatma wants to go to the post office and have them stop delivering the letters. Kerim wants to tell Omer so he can resolve this for good. Kadir’s taxi pulls up to the house and this ends the meeting.
Fahr asks to speak with Muka. I know you had good intentions [he doesn’t know Muka], but don’t try to do anything on your own from now on. Okay, she replies, but I thought you would be the only one not to say anything. I won’t do it again. I deeply regret it. [not really]
Kadir says Erdo used his right to remain silent. He said he won’t talk in court until Selim is caught but at least he’s in jail. Munir has left him on his own, he had a huge fight with Hilmiye. Kadir relates that Peri wanted to talk to him. Flashback. Peri says she doesn’t trust her brother. What would be Selim’s sentence for this case? Depends on the judge, Kadir replies. Are we going to be accused as well, she asks? End flash. Meryem notes, they are all trying to save themselves. They are getting desperate.
What did you say, Kerim asks? I told what the sentences could be. It’s likely the prosecutor will push for the longer sentence. Flashback again: Munir comes out of the office and heads straight for Kadir and Omer shouting, what the hell do you want?! You came here as a vulture? You won’t get anything out of this! Kadir replies, you don’t even believe what you say anymore. End.
Kadir says Erdo is being held in Istanbul for now. Muka pipes up, it would be fantastic if he ended up in the same cell as Mustafa. They could eat each other alive. That doesn’t go over well.
Resat flashes back to his office being emptied. Ender stops in. Here you are, Resat Yasaran, you lived to see this day. But you should be happy that you are alive. Because after all, you are alive. This is a big loss for you. You only feel loss when your business, money and power are taken away. You don’t have the qualities of honesty, pride or even a little respect for other’s right to live. When you tried to cover up the disaster your son caused, when you didn’t respect the lives of others, didn’t you feel ashamed? How do you feel now? You never felt the pain as you do now.
Lale Gozal did what I couldn’t do. She got revenge for her husband. I can’t even be happy about this, Ender says, I should be happy. I don’t feel pity either because you are a truly worthless man. I don’t feel anything for you. end flash. Resat cries.
Cut: Resat is crying on his knees in the middle of the street. Peri and Hilmiye arrive home by car. Peri gets out, worried, did something happen to Selim? Resat loses it, something happened to me! It all happened to me! He chokes her! Hilmiye and the driver pull Resat off Peri.
Cut: Meryem and Kadir talk in their bedroom. The topic is how awful Muka is. Kadir has a thought: what if she is the one who put the letters under Fatma’s bed? Meryem doesn’t want to think of that possibility. Kadir says anything is possible from Mukaddes Hanım. Meryem says that’s too much, even for Muka. [really? Think again Meryem!] Kadir reasons Fatma said there was only one letter, why would she lie? He thinks Meryem should talk to Fatma. Meryem wants to forget about the whole thing. She doesn’t want any problems before the wedding.
They cut more: Video call from Australia. After Kerim and Fatma leave the room, Deniz tells Fahr they sold some land that he was holding for her and Kerim, and the money will be in Fahr’s account tomorrow.
Fatma sews in her room, she flashes back to her singing with Kerim at Kristen’s dinner. Kerim sits in his room looking at his family pic with his father’s face cut out. He thinks about his convo with his dad at the airport when he let his feelings out about being abandoned. He gets teary. end cut.
Fatma sees the light in Kerim’s room and goes in. She can tell something is wrong. He shows her the pic and says it brought many things to mind. And here I am complaining to you. You grew up without parents, too. I had my brother, she replies. And I had Meryem Abla, he says, but still… we were all alone. You and me. Our wings were broken. Something was always missing. She wipes his tear and say, I thought the bride was supposed to get emotional before the wedding. I am afraid, he tells her. Fatma answers, me, too. They hug.
Cut: Ayce’s friend brings her a phone to call her father’s lawyer. The lawyer has a message from her father, who is very angry with her. Come back now. He wants you home this Sunday. The lawyer says everything is set. There are no charges against you. We will say you were with tourists. Don’t tell the guy you are with. Ayce objects. The lawyer says she has no choice, her father is angry, and he will tell the cops everything. End cut.
Ayce makes up some story that they have to wait a little longer for their escape.
Fatma and Kerim have a busy day. They are going to get the electric, water and gas services for the house. And they will go to ask if they can get a new marriage certificate. Muka asks if they have bought a bed yet. Not yet. Muka says you don’t want to bring your bed to the new house. You need a double bed now. Fatma feels uncomfortable. Rahmi scolds Muka for mentioning this.
Meryem scolds Kadir. Something happened to the marriage certificate. Kadir let it drop in a water bucket, Meryem says, you will have to get a new one. lol. Notice Muka’s comment: if I did this, it would be called evil intent. Fahr wants Kerim to reserve some time today to look at the workshop. Kerim isn’t very enthusiastic.
Uh oh, bed shopping. They make a quick purchase of a brass bed.
Awww… they cut the wedding picture session. Kerim makes her smile big. And Fatma ruins his first take by crossing her eyes. Later she complains he made her smile too much. Aren’t we changing them because the others were unhappy, he asks?
Kerim and Fatma meet Fahr at the workshop. They look around inside. Kerim asks if everything inside is for rent. No, the agent says, it’s all for sale. I explained to your father. Kerim approaches his father…dad… Don’t say no, Fahr tells him. I can’t accept this, Kerim replies. Fahr says it’s a present from your sister and Jenny. Kerim repeats he can’t accept. Fahr asks Kerim to step outside.
Please don’t hurt me, Fahr says, I won’t have peace if I don’t do this for you. You did more than enough, Kerim replies. You tricked me into thinking this was for rent. This is the last time, I promise, Fahr says, please accept it.
Kerim isn’t happy, you spent too much money on us. I’m not your only child, you have Deniz. She needs things too. Fahr says don’t worry. Kerim worries, she has rights to everything you gave to us. Fahr says Deniz has possessions, too. Fahr adds that he and Jenny have all that they need. You are starting out, you need to settle into your new life. This goes back and forth a little longer. Kerim looks at Fatma. Kerim finally accepts. He thanks and hugs his father.
Cut: Sami helps Hacer set up her nursery. He feels the baby kick. He tells Hacer he doesn’t want to be the baby’s “abi” he wants to be his “baba”. Hacer thinks he’s crazy. That’s a lifelong commitment. If you let me, I will protect both of you till the end of my life. She makes excuses for him not to do it. He wants to. You changed my life, he tells her, we can get married. I have to get rid of scummy Demir first, she replies. Sami says he will wait. [bravo, Sami!]
A cellmate offers to get Musto a cell phone. He jumps at the chance. 3,000 liras for one minute. Musto is anxious, he asks, where, when? The guy wants to make sure he has the money. Musto grabs him by the throat. Will you let me call or not? Tomorrow, the mate says, I’ll give a signal. Don’t let the others know.
Everyone is at the new house. Why did they let Muka in the bedroom? A bed for a queen, she tells Fatma. Worth the years of wait. The look on Kerim’s face is priceless.
Neighbor Esma is knitting outside. She sees the activity next door. Her mother leaves to visit a friend, her father is out, too.
Fahr shows Kadir pics of the new workshop. Kerim says he will start on the workshop after the house is finished.
Murat is in the yard playing with Lodos. Esma approaches him. Fatma spots them and goes over and invites Esma. She can’t stay but gives her something they can eat. Esma tells Fatma she’s sorry for what the neighbors did and leaves. Fatma notes Esma was nervous, like she didn’t want to be seen here. Who know what kind parents she has, Meryem replies.
Cut: Meryem is helping Fatma in her room. They talk about Esma. They talk about the awful treatment that girls like Fatma get. Meryem suggests writing to someone in the government. Meryem mentions all the letters that Fatma has collected and stored under her bed. Meryem thinks for a second…and speaking of letters under the bed… Muka barges in the room. She’s dying to see the dress. It’s under lock and key. You better put a padlock, Muka warns, who knows what I’ll do when I’m home alone. Fatma gives her a crooked mouth look. Meryem tells Muka to go to her room.
Resat tells what’s left of his family that he has declared bankruptcy. He’s sorry there is no champagne for Peri to celebrate. He wants Peri and Himilye out of the house tomorrow. He has some other news for Peri, your son has been located and it’s a matter of time until he’s caught. Resat laughs. He starts shouting about all sorts of stuff. You can discuss if you like.
Ayce and Selim are in bed. He’s sleeping with his arm around her. She gets up. Are you leaving without saying goodbye, he asks? I’m sorry, she says, my father sent a message, I have to go back now or he will report both of us. She cries. What will I do, Selim asks? Forgive me, Ayce asks. She kisses his cheeks and apologizes profusely. He kisses her on the mouth. Ayce leaves in tears.
Fatma answers a call at Rose Kitchen. It’s Musto. Fatmagul… Mustafa? This was the end of Turkish ep 72. Don’t hang up, it was hard to reach you. Where are you, Fatma asks in a panic, where are you calling from? Jail. Are you going to marry him? Is it true?
Fatma shouts, why are you calling me?! Leave me alone! Meryem wants the phone. Musto begs, don’t do this. I love you so much. Don’t call me again, Fatma shouts, don’t send me letters! Don’t hang up, Musto begs, he doesn’t love you. No one loves you like I do. He’s only beside you to clean his name. Meryem tells her to put the phone down.
Musto continues, don’t marry him. You are mine, wait for me. Fatma shouts you are committing a crime! Don’t call me, don’t write me! Do you hear me?! Don’t call me!! She hangs up. Fatma is a shaken and Musto is a wreck.
Meryem calls Kadir. He’s arrived at the house bearing gifts, a TV, DVD, movies. Musto called, she tells him. What?! Kadir calls out. This gets Kerim’s attention. Meryem explains, Fatma answered the phone, she told him not to call again. She’s shaking. Kerim wants to know what’s going on. Kerim wants the phone.
Who called, Kerim asks? Mustafa? Stay calm, Kerim, he called but Fatma didn’t talk to him and hung up. Kerim worries Musto is out. Nope. Kerim asks to speak with Fatma. He asks what that animal said to her. I didn’t even listen, I told him not to call me, she replies. Kerim demands to know what Musto said. Not to marry you, Fatma answers. Kerim gets angry and Fatma starts to cry. Meryem grabs the phone, don’t make me sorry I told you.
Kadir tells Kerim he will speak to the warden and make a complaint. Kerim is very angry. He knows Musto will never give up. Kadir says don’t allow him to break your spirits.
Musto’s cellmate takes the card out of the phone. He asks, was it bad news? Musto says nothing and pays. The mate notes Musto has a lot of money. If someone’s bothering you on the outside, we can take care of it for you, he says. Just pay us and tell us what you want us to do. Musto says there is someone, Kerim Ilgaz. I want you to take care of him. I want him dead before May 5.
Kerim’s anger is very upsetting for Fatma. She goes into her bedroom and starts putting things away. She cries. Kadir warns Kerim not to upset Fatma. Kerim goes to see her. He apologizes. Fatma says, you’re blaming me as usual. Like I asked him to call me. I’m not blaming you, Kerim replies.
Whenever someone mentions Mustafa, you get angry at me, she says. Kerim doesn’t want her to speak that name. Kerim can’t accept that even when he (Musto) is far away, he affects Fatma. Do you think I’m happy, she asks? Each time I receive a letter or a call, I’m scared. He hugs her. There will be a solution he tells her.
Things calm down and Kerim has to get ready to go to the airport with his dad. The family is arriving from Australia. Fatma cries again after Kerim leaves the room.
Cut: Jenny and Deniz arrive and have brought everyone gifts. Muka makes a whole bunch of unwelcomed comments. When Jenny asks Fahr the meaning of one, he tells her it’s meaningless. Zinger to Muka! Deniz is staying at the house to help with any wedding prep.
Deniz asks Fatma if she is nervous. Yes, a lot. Deniz can’t wait to see the house. We can go tomorrow, if you like, Fatma says. Deniz asks, will you be alone in your house? Muka is listening and comments, if you are referring to us, don’t worry, we are not going with them. We are leaving them alone so they can live happily ever after.
Deniz says she was misunderstood and that gives Muka the opportunity to complain about her lot in life. She doesn’t have her own house, etc. Muka moves to the door but keeps listening in. Deniz apologizes to Fatma. Fatma says if it’s not one thing, it’s another. Muka pops her head in… I heard that. Deniz and Fatma laugh about it.
Muka sits apart from everyone at the table and stews in her own juices, while the others enjoy tea and dessert. Later she complains to Rahmi how she was laughed at behind her back. Her resentment of Fatma is rearing its ugly head again and she plays victim. I can’t even recap this, it’s hateful.
Before they go upstairs, Kerim stops Fatma and says they haven’t been alone all day. He kisses her, just as Rahmi and Muka appear at the top of the stairs. Rahmi clears his throat and shields his eyes as he heads out. Fatma and Kerim break apart and head up to their rooms. They laugh. Muka walks to her room and stops when she hears Fatma’s phone ring. She listens to the convo through their doors.
It’s Kerim calling. I couldn’t say good night properly. Fatma says she was scared when she saw Rahmi, she was embarrassed. In 6 days we will be able to be alone, Kerim says. You will be by my side when I close my eyes and when I open them. Muka whispers, they are unbearable. They think they are so special. I can’t stand it. She heads to her room.
Musto marks off the days to the wedding.
Mehmet is happy to see Deniz show up at Rose Kitchen. Deniz has brought him a gift.
Ayce is being interviewed by the prosecutor. She pleads her innocence. What do I have to do with fugitives? The lawyer speaks on her behalf. Ayce has been away for personal reasons. Ayce BS’s about breaking up with her boyfriend. She was devastated and wanted to get away. She didn’t let anyone know. She didn’t expect anything like this to happen.
The prosecutor says Erdo Yasaran was caught in Malta. You were seen on a yacht with Selim Yasaran. Ayce says she doesn’t know them. She never saw Erdo and met the other on the yacht. This goes on. The prosecutor doesn’t believe it. The lawyer says they can get the ex boyfriend to testify. The prosecutor says the investigation will continue. But at least Ayce doesn’t go to jail.
Selim is in Greece. He makes a call to Yasaran Holding and finds out another company took over. Resat doesn’t work there anymore. Neither does Muge.
Hilmiye begs to see Erdo even if it’s only for 5 minutes. She doesn’t get permission. She sobs uncontrollably.
Resat gets a notice that he has to pay what he owes in 7 days or they will confiscate the house.
Muka breaks into Fatma’s wardrobe and takes out the wedding dress. She doesn’t get the chance to unzip the bag because Kadir comes home. She hurries to put it back. He comes upstairs and Muka starts babbling about leaving something for Fatma in her room. Kadir wants to make coffee and Muka volunteers to make it.
Kadir has a question he’s been wanting to ask. What do you know about the letters? What letters, Muka asks? The ones under Fatma’s bed. Meryem told you? Yep. Muka says not to say anything to Fatma, don’t upset her. Kadir continues, it’s unbelievable, lots of letters written by Musto under Fatma’s bed. Muka says it’s true and Meryem should forget about it. And you shouldn’t talk about it either. Besides if she hid them, there’s nothing we can do about it.
But I don’t believe she hid those letters, Kadir says. I don’t believe she’d do that. But whoever did it isn’t aware that it’s a crime. Muka panics. What are you trying to say? I don’t understand. Kadir replies, slander is a crime. Muka raises her voice, you think I am a slanderer? Why are you getting angry, Kadir asks? I didn’t say it to you. Muka rants, you are saying it’s a crime and someone other than Fatma did it. You are the one slandering now! Did I say anything like that, Kadir replies.
Muka swears she doesn’t know anything about those letters. Just admit you don’t want us here after Kerim and Fatma leave! Where to you get that, Kadir asks? I’m fed up with living here like a refugee. I’m sick and tired of being accused of everything! [if the shoe fits..] We will find a place and leave you alone [please do] She storms out.
Fatma and Meryem bring Deniz to the house. Furniture has arrived. Everything looks nice. Fatma gives Deniz a tour. Emre is working outside the bedroom window. He introduces himself to Deniz. Meryem calls, it’s time to do some shopping. Deniz asks who is that guy? She thinks he’s attractive, he has a beautiful smile. She even notices his freckles.
There was a lot more to the shopping trip. Deniz shows some lingerie to Fatma and she gets embarrassed, especially after she sees Kerim looking at them.
Fatma and Kerim are at therapy. They’ve been running for days, getting ready for the wedding. We almost forgot our appointment, Fatma says. Neziye asks if they are finished. Just a few small things left. Neziye says she supports the decision to start anew and she sees they have the family’s support. Neziye mentions the new wedding cert and photos. It’s a positive step forward.
Neziye asks, how do you feel doing all of this? What’s happening in your minds and hearts? Let’s talk about that. Fatma says it’s going better than she thought. But she’s a little scared and she thinks Kerim feels the same. She’s not afraid of getting married. She’s afraid the excitement might get destroyed. I am afraid of losing all I have, she says, I am afraid my happiness will get ruined.
Why, Neziye asks? I don’t know, Fatma replies. Do you feel the same, Kerim? He does. Why do you think your happiness could be ruined? Fatma can’t describe it. Part of me is the happiest I’ve ever been, she says, but the other part says don’t get used to it. One part wants to have wings and fly and the other says, stop, one step at a time. We are happy, we have a new house, but sometimes I feel like that.
Neziye says these feelings are normal. You lived a similar situation before, but with different feelings. Kerim looks uncomfortable. Neziye tells Fatma, you know that fear. You remember how your happiness turned into a nightmare. It’s made you cautious. Your subconscious is trying to defend you.
Fatma says she doesn’t want to feel this way. Kerim says he doesn’t want anything from the past to bother them in their new beginning. Neziye thinks they are handling this well. Fatma’s not afraid to express her feelings. In time the fear will fade away.
Cut: the cellmate tells Musto the thing he wanted was set up.
The guards grab Musto. There was a complaint filed against him. It’s about the phone call. As the guards haul him out of the yard, Musto shouts to the mate, don’t give up on this.
Neziye wants to talk about the wedding night. Kerim volunteers to leave. Fatma wants him to stay. We are going to be alone that night, she says. Fatma tells Neziye, I always remember what you told me, that what I experience with Kerim will be different. What happened that night was cruel. Fatma looks at Kerim, I told you my body wouldn’t forget even if my mind did. I don’t feel that way now. When you touch me, Kerim… when you take my hand… when you kiss me… I don’t feel that way anymore. I am happy. They smile at each other.
Neziye says it’s beautiful to hear this. Kerim says Fatma surprises him every day. She’s braver than I am. Do you see yourself differently, Neziye asks? Kerim replies, Fatma is the strongest person I have ever known. She is much stronger than me. No matter how hurt, she never stops fighting. He turns to her, I am afraid of hurting you. That’s the reason I’m frightened about our first night. I don’t want us to go back to the beginning. They hold hands.
Kerim says, but I shouldn’t be afraid anymore. We have been through a lot together, while loving each other and planning to spend our lives together forming a family, having children, I know we can solve this. I am the happiest man in the world. They smile at each other.
Musto is questioned. Where did you get the phone? Musto denies it. No one helped him, there was no phone. The cell is searched. The guard asks, who helped Mustafa?
And we are out.
HERCAI - #52 – Parte 1 de 6
We begin with Nasuh telling Azat that Hanife was Azize’s spy for many years. He tells his grandson they have to find her.
Hazar comes to the Love Shack (don’t know which of you to thank for this one). He’s brought some things he puts on the porch in a basket. We can see eggs, a fancy box and a cassette. Reyyan is sleeping inside.
Miran comes home. He’s cold as one of the Ohio winters I grew up in to his daddy. Hazar, looking even sadder than usual, tells him he knows how Miran feels, but he can’t give up on a son. Miran tells him he’s only a stranger who saved his life. Hazar keeps trying to get it into Miran’s thick skull that he did not know Dilsah was expecting his child. He thought she had chosen Mehmet. Hazar makes some headway reminding Miran that he’s going to be a father. “Could you leave your child, knowing that he exists?” He also says that he sees both himself and Dilsah in Miran and that he gets his anger from his grandfather! [Miran sits down to weep some; he got the weeping from Hazar!]
Hazar gives Miran a box with the famous ring made by the jeweler, the one ReyMir sought out only to be thwarted by HAG. Hazar admits that he should have come for Dilsuh, but he loved her very much. As Hazar turns away, Miran, tears in his eyes says “Papá!” Hazar turns to say “Hijo!”. But that’s the extent of it.
Reyyan comes out. Miran, still sitting a bit away, asks his mother to show him the way. He tells himself he knows he ought to embrace his father, but he can’t.
Hazar tells Reyyan he’s brought a cassette with Dilsah’s voice on it for Miran.
After Hazar leaves Miran kneels, puts his hand near the lentil and then puts “that ring” on her finger. He then tells her she’ll be wearing the love of his mother and also the love of his father.
HERCAI - #52 – Parte 2 de 6
Cihan has gone even farther to the dark side. He’s in a car with one of the guys he took on the Miran Hunt in that village. They’ve stopped in front of a nice looking house. Cihan tells the guy to raze it to the ground. [Really, Cihan, you don’t think Nasuh is going to figure this out after the salty conversation you just had with him about Nasuh wanting to give the house to ReyMir?]
We get some more rom-com teasing between Zeynep and Firat at the olive grove. They have set up food and some balloons for ReyMir, the expectant parents.
Back to the hospital waiting room and the long faces. Sultana goes after Azize. She tells her that Miran is her sacrifice and Aslan is her semental (breeding stud) to keep her line going. She tells her that, if Aslan dies…say it after me, boys and girls, I’ll kill you!
Then we get the usual beeping alarm, doctors running, and hysteria from Sultana. There’s multiple defibrillation shocks, but they say he’s dead. We see Azize’s prayer beads break behind her back. [Was the last time this happened when Elif left?] I kept expecting some kind of trick by Fusun, but maybe the actor had an upcoming role as a galán (as many of you have wished for).
When the doctor comes out Sultana falls apart. [This woman is a serious ugly cryer!] Azize thinks to herself that her lineage is done. She also thinks to herself that, of course, they’ll end up as father and son. She tells herself to end this now. Outside the hospital Azize tells Esma that Aslan died. And that now Esma is free. “Go find your son and tell him everything. Ask him to stay, to be Gonul’s brother.”
There’s a short, lovely scene with the four at the olive grove, but then more HAG. She tells Mahmoud to kill Hazar right now. To burn him up in a fire like the one that burned her. “I want Nasuh to be crazy with grief like I was when I lost my son. The robot tells her he’ll die if he has to in order to get it done.
HERCAI - #52 – Parte 3 de 6
New, improved Nasuh is having tea with Hazar and Sukran. Hazar doesn’t think he’ll ever be accepted by Miran. Sukran is sure Miran will come around. Hazar gets a call about a problem at the factory. Nasuh is going to come with, but he gets a call. He says it’s from the granja (farm) and he needs to go there. Then he says to himself that Azize wants to talk, so they’ll talk.
Back to the olive grove. Miran is teased about running to the car when Rey made the baby announcement. She mentions calling a boy Hazar, and the bull stays quiet. Reyyan remarks, looking significantly at Firat and Zeynep, that the daisies are for mí quiere o no mí quiere
Cihan, Handan, Azat, and Yaren are on the patio at the konak, Handan gloating about it just being them. Azat is trying to reason with his toxic parents about their hating Miran.
Mahfuz shows up at the olive grove. He tells Miran he’s leaving. Miran thanks him, and Reyyan comes up. Mahfuz tells them that Aslan wanted to expose Azize, but then… Smiling warmly, Reyyan thanks him for saving them, including the baby he didn’t know she was carrying. After they walk away, he smiles and tells himself he’s going to be a grandfather.
Harun shows up on the patio. He breaks the news to the four of them about the fake family and that he’s the son of Fusun Aslanbey. Cihan pulls the Midyat special from his pocket, but Handan restrains him.
We get the usual over-protective expectant father routine from Miran when Reyyan wants a swing like the one before at this property. She ends up with a hammock, and is told there’ll be no more horseback riding.
Yaren seems to have some lira signs in her eyes about being an Aslanbey. She announces that she loves Harun and doesn’t want a divorce.
HERCAI - #52 – Parte 4 de 6
Azize is in a big open field with a lone tree that has the initials A and N on it. She’s saying to herself that she’s the mother of orphans, who only has Gonul left. It’s time to die.
Firat chokes on his tea when Miran remarks to Reyyan that he wants her to have a tranquil baby. Zeynep and Firat laugh about the idea of these two having a peaceful child.
Miran notices the old school boom box that Zeynep was teasing Firat about when she saw it. He pulls the cassette that Hazar gave him and plays it. It’s Dilsah and Ayla again. Dilsah says that she told Azize everything, that she loves Hazar. She goes on to say that it didn’t matter to her at all. “That woman won’t leave me in peace!” We then hear music, presumably from the cassette and then Dilsah again saying something about having listened to that tape since he left. She thought about writing a letter, but she wanted him to hear her voice. They’re going to have a baby. She thinks it’s a boy, and she will name him Miran. We see Miran’s face, and the Sadoglu waterworks start up again.
Nasuh meets Azize at that tree. She hands him the loose prayer beads. She tells him she’s saved them for 47 years. We see a flashback of young, handsome Nasuh give them to her. We hear a baby fussing. Nasuh lifts him. Apparently a 3 month old baby still doesn’t have a name because Nasuh says he’ll name the boy Hazar. Hazar means peace, and his son will have a peaceful life.
Nasuh is getting angry. He asks her who she is. How does she know all this. She takes off her scarf and says she’s Ayse. [She actually appears to look at him lovingly.] She’s the mother of his son and the woman he said he’d love forever. Nasuh starts choking.
Mahmoud tiende una emboscada para Hazar (sets up an ambush) with his car across the road
Nasuh roars that she can’t be Ayse. Ayse’s eyes were full of love. “You put the hate in them!” He starts to cry. We hear a woman’s voice (his snobby mother?) saying that Ayse is dead. She and her brother and sisters died. Then we hear that doctor intoning about the burns and plastic surgery.
HERCAI - #52 – Parte 5 de 6
Azize tells him he killed Ayse. Now they’ll be even because she’ll kill what’s left of him. “You’ll have a living death. You got married to someone else while my son was still warm in his grave.” He keeps telling her she doesn’t know anything. “They told me you were dead!” “You even used the name of my son for another woman’s child!”
We see Hazar stop at the ambush, pull a gun with a distinctive color out, and say to himself: “Azize!” He gets out shouting her name, pistol drawn. He sees Mahmoud there. They point their guns at each other. Mahmoud says the verbatim words she told him to say. “The children pay for the sins of their fathers.”
Nasuh keeps telling Azize she doesn’t know. She again says that Ayse is dead. “Now go look for the body of your son. You took my son, and now I’m taking your adored son. Hazar is dead.” “What did you do?” “The life of your son in exchange for mine. While she smiles in triumph he tells her that Hazar is THEIR son. He didn’t die in the fire. “Hazar is your son! What did you do, Azize?” She sinks to the ground.
He shakes her. “Tell me where Hazar is? Wake up!” She accuses him of lying to save Hazar. “You’ll be the killer of your own son! Where is he?” Sobbing, Nasuh calls Hazar, but he doesn’t answer. He finally gets through to her. “My little one! Hazar!” She calls the Robot, who doesn’t answer either.
We see the abandoned vehicles and Hazar’s fancy gun in the roadway.
Miran gets a call about Aslan’s death. Reyyan immediately realizes that Azize will go after her father. Hazar, of course, doesn’t answer Reyyan’s call. Esma calls Miran to warn him about Azize. But Miran just tells Rey it’s a work call, probably thinking about the lentil.
Horrified, Azize tells Nasuh that Mahmoud will do her bidding and burn Hazar alive at the farm.
We see busy bee Mahmoud pouring enough gas around to burn down Istanbul. And we see Hazar tied up and unconscious.
HERCAI - #52 – Parte 6 de 6
Sultana comes out of the morgue, ugly crying, held up by Fusun and Gonul. After Gonul pulls her away, we see steely eyed Fusun. She reminds me of an old-school Mafia don. She tells her flunky something I don’t understand. He has to find “her”, discover where Azize has her, before she puts her nephew in his tomb. Sounds like she thinks Azize has someone hostage rather than she wants the guy to find Azize herself.
Azize and Nasuh are running across open ground. Nasuh can’t keep up. Probably ate too much of Hanife’s cooking over the years. He sends her on and sinks down. He prays that God won’t make him bury his own son.
The Robot piles up lots of dried weeds outside the barn. Hazar comes to.
Zehra, Sukran and Reyyan are sitting on the Sadoglu patio when Handan stops by to drop a little venom. The new Reyyan gets right in her face for blaming her father for what’s happened. She takes a bite out of Cihan as well, reminding both of them what their demon spawn did.
Low-Rent Lady Macbeth tells her bad toupee husband that Fusun is now their consuegra. “We don’t want the divorce. We’ll send them to live at the Aslanbey konak and their family will become more powerful.”
Hazar sees Mahmoud splashing gasoline. Mahmoud says woodenly that he’s going to die the same way as her son died. Hazar begs him not to be inhuman. [Hazar, haven’t you seen the little on/off switch at the back of his neck?] Cool as a cucumber, Mahmoud drops a lit lighter and padlocks the door.
Miran is driving somewhere, calling Hazar and telling Azize she’ll have to pay if anything has happened to him.
Azize arrives at the barn, breaks the padlock with a rock and has a flashback to the fire of her youth. There’s a second locked door (of course there is). Hazar is yelling for help. Azize breaks the second lock and grabs the red-hot chain to pull it loose, screaming in pain.
Scenes switch between Hazar in the flames and young Ayse going into the earlier inferno. She finds her baby in her fantasy and carries him to safety. She places him on the ground, smiling, and then we see Azize with horribly burnt hands touching Hazar’s shoulder outside the burning barn.
Another absolutely FABULOUS and FUNNY recap novelera! Enjoyed reading it MUCHO! Hazar and Miran have got to be the SADDEST of sad sacks EVAH! Especially for two men who have literally found one another based on someone else’s heartless lie! Yes, Miran is as cold as an “Ohio winter,” and as stupid as someone who closes their eyes and claims that they can’t see! Open your eyes Miran! Y’all have lost and wasted enough time! The Love Shack definitely ain’t filling Miran with love! Sheesh!
I don’t even know where to begin with Cihan! Or Handan! They, neither one can truly be Azat’s parents! Azat was switched at birth and probably cause Cihan complained that the baby looked too much like Hazar! No way they could take home a baby looking like him! Cihan’s jealousy and pettiness border ridiculous and then his ride or die , Handan, just pushes the right buttons to make him even more ridiculous! They’re SICKENING!
Well, Aslan didn’t last long——- not even a full episode! That he even survived after the car blew up is surely a miracle anyway, but isn’t it SUPER ironic that he died just like his daddy did??? Hmmmmm🤔. And Sultana is absolutely an ugly crier! Lol! Everything about that woman is ugly to me though, so I’m biased! And now she’s got Fusun in her corner, so that the revenge will continue against the innocent ——-which seems to be the theme of this drama. I swear Fusun looks like she’s carrying around an extra load of excess gas. Like she just needs to have a good ole fart, and her sour puss will turn into a smile….ahhhh relief!
I think we all came to the conclusion that Hazar was Nasuh and Ayse’s love child, so no big surprise there. But that Mahmoud never ceases to amaze me! He is so wooden! The perfect assassin! Ready at a moment’s notice! Wow! Just Wow! And did y’all peep Azize go into super Mom mode! Realization that Hazar is her son FINALLY sinks in! She can’t get in touch with assassin extraordinaire so sh runs off to get her baby, leaving outta breath Nasuh behind! When she gets there the entrance is locked, so she spies and picks up a rock to break the lock, and after 3 hard knocks, wa-la! she gets it open. She then assesses the fire scene and hears her baby screaming for help! Oh my! Another door! Another lock with a chain! She grabs another rock and beats the lock, but that’s not enough cause the hot, fiery chain is in the way! What to do!?!?!? She has to grab the chain—-without hesitation mind you—-and is thrown to the ground with a lightening jolt! She also now has fresh, severely burnt hands. But that doesn’t stop SUPERMOM! She jumps back up to the door like Jack Nicholson in “ The Shining,” lol, looks through the bars, and proceeds to calmly (as young Ayse) open the door, walk through fire, pick up her baby boy and get him to safety! How she moved big azz Hazar is anyone’s guess, but what a scene! SUPERMOM with 3rd or 4th degree burnt hands and burnt ashes around her nose lovingly looks upon her baby boy after 47 yrs in the making! Yeah, they wrote and directed the hell outta this scene!
Good episode! And “ low rent Lady Macbeth,” lolololol! Thanks for the recap novelera, and especially for the laughs! Neutralizing this episode was definitely called for, lol!
Thank you, dondi356.
The scene with the ruined marriage certificate was amusing. Everyone but Rahmi knew what happened and played along. Too bad the picture taking session was cut. Anything with happy Fatmagul and Kerim is sweet.
Can't wait till they get rid of that parasite Mukaddes.
Mustafa just will not go away. This monster was created and fed by the Yasarans. They enabled him, gave him money, gun, car, apartment. If he was a penniless fisherman, he would nod be able to cause so much damage.
Dondi, thank you so much for another excellent account of all the drama.
I am so happy that the brilliant writers gave us intelligent good guys to fight the forces of evil in this story . Sometimes in telenovelas, the villains keep winning until the very end , but in this tale, we get to see the forces of good fighting ...Meryem, Kadir, Omer, the therapist, Sami, Emre. Fatmagul and Kerim are not alone . In the other hand, the rotten ricos are falling into pieces .
Muk is so brazen as she snoops and interferes and then lies about what she has done and attempts to turn the tables and plays the victim. Kadir has figured out that Muk put the letters under Fatmaguls bed . Now what ????
I mute the sound when I watch this show because I can't understand the language , so I concentrate on the visual clues . The looks that Kerim gives Muk are priceless. I see Muk's lips moving and the sly smirk on her face . Then, Kerim gives her "the look" before he looks away.
Muk takes such glee taunting Fatmagul about the noche de boda. She is obsessed with it.
Yay, Sami. Hacer is lucky to have him in her corner.
Novelera, thank you all the details as we stumble and tumble to the end.
Yaren doesn't want a divorce now. Okay . Don't care.
Fusan wants Azz to release "her." Dilsuh? ? What other "her" could it be unless there are other hidden family members out there ?
Firat and Zenep got close fast.
Azz and Nasuh racing?? across the field .
Azz saves her baby boy . Uff. Now what ?
I was so hoping that Aslan we going to be the hero who made this whole mess make sense. Nope...just extra crazy with a wall of photos, post it notes, and a gun . Next.
Thank you Dondi for another masterpiece!! :)
As I watched this I had the thought Meestafa should have been Resat's son! Resat crying about all of this happening to him!! The actor plays falling apart well though, he is very entertaining!!
In general the Yeserans are trying to save their skins but I don't have the impression Peri still is. She seems prepared to do the right thing and face the consequences, she is just wondering what is going to happen which is normal.
Fatma and Deniz joking about Muka was entraining too, it looks like they will have a great sister-in-law relationship!
I wish I could think this whole Sami and Hacer thing was cute, but really it just seems like the set up of yet another relationship where one person is in love with someone who is in love with someone else...we've all seen how well that doesn't work. But maybe Hacer will fall for him.
I can't decide if Mustafa is delusional or just vengeful. Does he really think that Fatma will just run back to him and wait 22 years for him if he kills Kerim?? Or does he just hate Kerim? Have I mentioned I wish he had died on the side of the road?? Ugh!!
dondi356, you brave on with such excellent recaps. Thank you!!
HERCAI
Novelera, you were on a roll with the funny commentary in you outstanding recap.
carmella, OMGoodness, you had me laughing out loud with--
Miran is as cold as an “Ohio winter,” and as stupid as someone who closes their eyes and claims that they can’t see!
Fusun looks like she’s carrying around an extra load of excess gas. Like she just needs to have a good ole fart, and her sour puss will turn into a smile….ahhhh relief!
Very entertaining commentary on the Telemundo pages; THANK YOU!!
Novelera...!
Banging Recap!...I work evenings.sometimes. but not shifts..like our.Lovey Nurse...and I need yalls recaps!Bad!
So Dude is gone??!WTF!!! this is some bullsh🤮💩💩💩t...!
Chihan you are WAY OUTTA POCKET! With sabotage...this patriarchal inheritance entitlement... is a hot pile of💩💩 ..but in someways Miran doesn’t deserve crap...Reyyan deserves it first..
That girl that gets Firat is getting a good aFaithful puppy,he will be so grateful to get some😻😻💋🍑🐡
Azize is beyond forgiveness !she would have to do,perform some Serious long term restorative acts while she serves Jailtime!n not
expect forgiveness except from the Creator! Maybe ?MashAllah!
Caray fam...
Please..Forgive these blurbs I am on a tablet..on the JobTip! On the Quick Tip!
A few more thoughts . Kerim and Fatmagul are slowly but surely becoming soulmates . They are taking turns being strong for each other which is so necessary . When one is down, the other supports and consoles. Fatmagul wipes the tears from Kerim's face when she finds him crying in his room. Then, in the car she holds his hand and then hugs it to her chest. They are bonding .
The scene where the wedding photos are conveniently ruined was funny. Lots of side eyes and sharing a secret. What a difference in their faces and demeanors in that flashback . ...so dark and hopeless. Then , the fun and laughter as new photos are taken . Lovely.
Terrific recap novelera! So many funnies in there. I always appreciate your Spanish lessons too, especially: “Aslan is her semental (breeding stud)” I missed that last night and reading the translation now, it struck me how disturbed Azize really is. Now that we know she really is Ayse, it is hard to believe she might be able to change.
I liked the nice moments in the olive grove and even Miran listening to his mom “guide his path.” I hope he follows her directions. He and Hazar sure are crybabies!
I have never trusted Cihan, I think he and his toupee are headed to the dark side. I despise Handan.
I was not convinced that Aslan actually died. Something wasn’t right about that whole scenario and yes, Sultana is an ugly crier.
“She reminds me of an old-school Mafia don” Fusun definitely is the enigma character right now. In the Turkish version, the actors’ voice is very deep and gravelly, it fits her character perfectly! carmella, maybe Fusun needs prunes too because she looks constipated. Between you and novelera, I laughed a lot reading the recap and comments! Thank you both.
[Hazar, haven’t you seen the little on/off switch at the back of his neck?] LOL, the Robot/Mahmoud/Mahmut (so many ways to spell) had his jacket off for the first time. He is pretty good looking and deserves the Hunky Bar reference you gave him so many months ago, novelera.
So now we know the Nasuh/Azize/Ayse connection. As some have speculated, Hazar is their son. Like Susanlynn said, Now what?
Thank you novelera, this was just excellent!
Damn Damn Darnit !Aslan! No!
Aslan.. don’t leave us! Take Miran..FiratAzat!.....
so Esma is free?... n he will be like a bro to Gonul?...is Esma baby daddy an,Aslanbeyyer??
Those men were dogs !
....Azize’s Husband ..the one that beat her aazz...on the regular. Maybe was Raping Esma...!

LOL...!Cihan staying strapped w the Midyat..special!
Harun you should have left n run dude run! Write them a letter,Good point abt the Lira in her Eyes!...LOL....!
Midyat community was represented by the passerby’ in the hijab. 🧕🏽 she spoke to Fusun ! Not Azize..Fusun has status!...n Aslan paid the price 🔪📛♨️🗡⚔️for his transgressions.. the women do not need to go to ⚖️💵💷Aga or Sheiks,Imam or Mufti unless the Sadoglu request Qisas🕋..if I am interpreting correctly....lots of signal n nuances related to Hadith traditions are presented very quickly..that Lady outside the morgue..expressed the whole community’s position...sympathetic!
Fusun and Azize asserting they will take the fight ....Right Up to Judgement Day, the Day of Resurrection...n into the next world 🌍.....Tickles me..What gall.
Now the Nasul n Azize Ayse story.....n her personal Zhikr beads......really ?Deep, deep n Cursed at the same time!..so after their wedding with the Imam..she birth Hazar...Our Hazar!.!!!??!!!!!!??!!
Wow, novelera! What a magnificent recap!! You cover everything with just the right amount of detail, you include some helpful Spanish, and you make terrific use of humor all through the recap to provide welcome distance and perspective. I particularly enjoyed "he gets his anger from his grandfather! [...he got the weeping from Hazar!]," "New, improved Nasuh," "the Sadoglu waterworks start up again," "We see busy bee Mahmoud pouring enough gas around to burn down Istanbul," and, of course, "Low-Rent Lady Macbeth."
I kept fearing that even after the doctors had proclaimed Aslan dead, it would turn out they were wrong, and that thanks to telenovela/dizi medicine, he'd be causing trouble again in just a few weeks. I guess by the end of the episode I was convinced that we'd seen the last of him. ¡Ojalá!
I was amused that, sure enough, finding out that her sociopath husband is Fusun's son is enough to make Yaren declare that she loves him and doesn't want a divorce. And Low-Rent Lady Macbeth clearly agrees.
The episode leaves me with some questions. When Azize tells Esma that she's now free and should go find her son and ask him to stay, to be Gonul's brother, is she referring to Firat or to someone else? And, of course, toward the end, when Fusun tells her flunky that he has to find "her," discover where Azize has her, could she possibly be referring to Dilsah? I suspect she is, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Yes, that would almost certainly give Hazar and Miran enormous happiness, but it seems too far-fetched and excessively sentimental even for this dizi. And though I've never been a Zehra fan, bringing Dilsah back seems a very undeserved blow to a woman who has devoted her life to her husband and children. Oh well...
Again, MANY THANKS, novelera, for this spectacular recap!!
FUSUN MEANS DILSAH...DONT SHE??????????TEAM ZEHRANI to the end!!
Excuse me.. Pardon Me......but did ya'll name Ms. Hadaanni :Lady McBeth [OH -HELL-YES..!! Low Rent/Bootleg Bitch]........AWESOME!!
Sorry ,BUT NOT sorry: .............Hashtag: # JAIL FOR AZIZE/AYSE.....!!
....I dont care abt her burns !...send that bit#$%h to jail!!!
it SHOULD NOT matter ..abt the revelations... I don't care if she is Hazar mother...and was wronged...
.....send AZIZE/AYSE TO JAIL!!
if she doesn't do time./incarceration... Dizi land is immoral/class conscious/elitist and shows the corruption of wealth...BS! EAT-THE-RICH!!
Carmella: You think I’m funny? Azat being switched at the hospital because he looked like Hazar? Now that’s funny! And aaaah! relief…should Fusun pass some gas in the hallway. We didn’t all realize Hazar was Azize’s firstborn. I didn’t until I read it here from some astute commenters.
Susanlynn: I loved “Nope...just extra crazy with a wall of photos, post it notes, and a gun . Next.” Couldn’t have described Aslan better.
Rgv Chick: Thanks for the kind words! Always good to hear from la jefa.
Halimacandy Thanks for your very helpful insights into this culture. And I agree that whoever, probably Zeynep, gets Firat is getting a very good guy.
VVS: I’m in the same boat with you about thinking Aslan’s “death” was a setup. I guess we’ve seen too many characters portrayed as “definitely dead” or grave, muy grave to believe anyone dead except some character with two lines of dialog.
Juanita: Thanks for your great comment! I have to depend on the Patio to fill in the blanks. I replayed that Fusun/Flunky scene twice and no me caí el viente (just didn’t get it; a really good mexicanismo) I should have realized she could have been speaking about Dilsah. But OTOH I can’t figure out why Ms Mafia would give a rat’s patootie about Dilsah.
One more thing. Didn't Reyyan have a dream in which the whole cast were together at a huge dinner table, Azize smiling, everyone happy? Could that be a premonition?

I saw this announcement on another blog. As if we need more content!
We start with a very sweet and emotional scene. The families are gathered and Fatma serves coffee. Fahr announces, now that we have our coffee, shall we follow another tradition? Meryem Hanım, we haven’t asked Fatmagul’s brother for her hand yet. That’s right, Meryem replies, we never really asked for permission. Kadir says he’s not dressed for the occasion but Fahr replies, we didn’t bring the chocolates and flowers either. Fatma tells Fahr he’s done enough already.
Fahr says to Rahmi, you know Kerim…much better than me. He turns to Meryem and says, hakkını helal et (for raising Kerim) She answers, helal olsun. You filled the gaps in his life with your love, Fahr says, you never made him feel he was missing anything. You raised a good man, thank you. I know that Kerim will be a better partner than I could ever be. And I believe with all my heart that he will be a much better father than I was.
Fahr looks at Fatma and says, Fatmagul is the jewel in our crown. She is not our bride, she is our daughter. We will work hard for their happiness until our last breath as a family.
Now, Rahmi Bey, they love one another, right? Kerim and Fatma both say “evet”. If you see this is appropriate, with the will of Allah and the Prophet’s advice, we want your sister, Fatmagul, for our son, Kerim. Rahmi is in tears. He’s speechless. Muka pipes up, this is how we are, we cry when happy… we cry when sad.
Kadir nudges, so what do you say Rahmi? Rahmi begins, Fatmagul is not only my sister, she is my everything. If something pricks her hand, I hurt the most. My sister suffered so much pain and sorrow. Every time I put my head on my pillow, I said “my God, please put a smile on her face. Write her destiny with a happy ending.” Thankfully, my prayers were answered. I know Kerim loves Fatma very much and she loves him too. I hope they love each other like this always. I hope they are happy forever.
Fatma hugs her brother. Be happy, he tells Fatma. Kerim asks, did you give her away? I did, Rahmi answers, she’s yours now. Hayırlı olsun! May this be good. Ha, they cut the hugging and kissing of the hands. Muka holds hers out to be kissed but neither Fatma or Kerim do it. Wedding favors are made, tea is served.
Cut: Musto is in solitary. He’s scratched a calendar into the floor and is crossing off the days to the wedding.
Hacer gets a letter from Musto. She needs to pay a man 100,000 TL. Sami gives a WTH. What kind of debt is that? Hacer says there’s a telephone number. I have pay half now and half on the night of May 5. Sami thinks this might be a plan for Musto to escape. He tells her not to give the money. Hacer says it’s Musto’s money. Hacer gets up to go to the bank. Sami does a little flirting. He moves in for a kiss, she backs away. [give her time, Sami]
Kerim and Fahr close the deal on the workshop.
Fatma goes bridal shoe shopping. Two pairs are a possibility. Deniz writes her name on the bottom of each. [If her name is erased, that means she will marry soon.] Now you have to buy both shoes, Deniz says.
Omer visits Musto. I’m here to warn you to stop the nonsense. This could get worse for you. This does not register with Musto. He asks, it is true they are getting married? I don’t have to tell you anything, Omer replies. Musto begs, are they getting married on May 5? Why do you want to know? Just to give up my hopes, he answers. I must know so I can clear my head and wipe her out of my heart. [he left out the real reason: kill Kerim] Omer confirms the wedding on May 5. Omer warns him again.
The hit man gets into Sami’s cab. He wants to drive to another spot. Hacer has questions that the man answers with some BS. She hands over the money. He will send instructions to hand over the balance on Saturday.
Musto marks another day.
Fatma and co. return from their shopping trip with a ton of stuff and Muka sheds some jealous tears.
It’s Fatma’s henna night! Of course, they chopped up the ceremony. Jealous Muka. The song does its trick, Fatma cries. Muka drinks and dances…watch out!
Kına Gecesi ceremony:

Yüksek Yüksek Tepelere is the traditional song in the ceremony.

Ayce pays a visit to the Yasaran house to bring news of Selim. We see Selim is still in Greece. He’s taken to stealing food from stray cats! [how dare he!] She offers to get Selim to the US if they give her the money. Resat is sick of hearing about money. Does he have any left?
Cut: the guy who’s doing Musto’s hit job cases Kadir’s house.
Cut: Muka forces Meryem to have “wedding night talk” with Fatma and of course Muka takes a front row seat. Fatma smiles and says this was already discussed with the therapist. She assures Meryem she is fine. I’ll live this like any other normal, married couple.
Hacer reads the paper and there’s an item on Fatma and Kerim’s wedding. Uh, oh…. May 5. She makes a connection and makes a call to Kadir. Mustafa has something planned for Fatma and Kerim! She tells him about the money, etc. Kadir informs Fahr. They keep it hushed. They don’t want to alarm anyone.
Musto returns to his regular cell. The mate signals the plan is in motion.
Final wedding prep is taking place the night before the wedding. Meryem spends time with Fatma and brushes her hair. It’s my last night in this house, she tells Meryem, I don’t think I can sleep. Meryem says she will make sleepy tea. Jenny and Muka watch Deniz and Emre prep the garden. [Something happening there?] We see Fahr talking on his phone, Kerim signals him it’s time to sleep.
Meryem goes over the schedule for tomorrow and what will happen.
Kerim looks at his suit. He calls Fatma. He wishes he could have a kiss to calm him down. I will see you in white tomorrow, you will be my bride. I love you. I love you too, Fatma replies.
The garden is set. Fahr thanks Kadir for all he’s done. A body guard, a colleague of Mirzat, shows up for guard duty. This makes Fahr and Kadir feel much better. Reporters swarm outside Kadir’s gate.
They cut the nice little final touches before the big event. Fatma getting her hair done, Kerim getting his groom’s shave. [We should be able to enjoy every little bit of happiness, damn you UniMas!]
Deniz visits her brother, who stayed in the bungalow the day before the wedding. Kerim looks nice in his tux. Fahr comes in to see his son. I was scared I’d miss this day, he says. I regret what I missed in your life. I couldn’t hug you on the mornings of holidays, no graduations. If I wasn’t alive now, I wouldn’t be resting in peace. Thank you so much for letting me into your life and making me so happy. [are we getting teary yet?]
Kerim says, if you weren’t in my life, I would feel something missing. For the letters you wrote all those years, for your persistence, your endurance, for not giving up on me…thank you very much. Kerim gives his father a big hug and everyone sheds some tears. “Iyi ki varsin”, I’m so glad I have you, Kerim says.
Fahr says he’s proud of Kerim, proud to have a son like him. You came through a battle with your head high, he tells Kerim, may you always hold your head high. Be very happy. Never let go of you beloved’s hand. Be fair to her, be kind to her, never turn your back on her. Deniz says that’s enough and leaves. One more father-son hug.
Deniz speaks with Emre and Mehmet lurks. Lol.
Musto’s man is hidden in the group of reporters.
Cut: Kerim is very nervous waiting for his bride to come downstairs. The wait is on upstairs for the bride to come out of her room. Fatma looks spectacular, IMHO. [I love her dress] She has a huge smile. There is applause. Fatma kisses Rahmi’s hand and gives him a hug. Thank God for letting me see this day, he says. May God make you happy, your face always smiling like this. You deserve it. Cut to jealous Muka, who says that’s enough, her makeup will run. [you know, she was just being helpful…lol] Kerim is impatient and calls, Fatmagul. I’m coming. End cut.
Don’t you just love those moments when the groom first sees his bride? Ah, Kerim’s admiring smile. You’re so beautiful, he tells her. Fatma gets her shy look. Family files outside.
I can’t believe it. You look so beautiful, Kerim tells Fatma. You like it, she asks? Very much. For so long I dreamed of you in a wedding dress. You were beautiful in my dreams, he says, but you are even more beautiful in reality. She says she can feel her heartbeat up in her neck. He puts his hand there.
Kerim asks, are you ready to say yes to me again? She nods with a big smile. He holds his hand out and she takes it. They walk out of the house and stand before their guests. Applause. There were edits between the happy couple and miserable Musto in his cell. This was the end of Turkish ep 73
The hit man lurks and waits for his chance to sneak in as part of the catering crew.
Fatma and Kerim greet guests. They cut a lot of this. There are nervous glances between Fahr and Kadir.
A guard comes in and wants Musto to come with him. There was a report of him contacting someone on the outside. Musto and the mate look at each other. A complaint was filed by Fatma and Kerim Ilgaz. Hacer Ovacik confirmed it. You’re in big trouble. We’re going to the prosecutor.
The hit man is in the yard with the catering crew.
Cut: Sami is driving Hacer to the wedding to see if the guy they paid is there, but she goes into labor. He takes her to the hospital. Fahr calls Hacer. Sami answers. He asks where are you? Sami explains.
Hacer tells Sami to go on alone, he is a witness, too. He doesn’t want to leave her. Later, her contractions stop, and she talks him into going.
Cut: Fahr and Kadir are very nervous. Maybe they should have had the wedding indoors. Fahr sees a man climb on top of the fence and shouts, look out Kerim! Fahr runs towards him and Kerim protects Fatma. False alarm, it’s just a photographer. Fahr apologizes to everyone. Kerim asks, why did you panic like that? Fahr gives him an apology.
Fatma and Kerim sit at the wedding table. Kadir speaks: I know how excited Kerim and Fatma are now. They’ve waited too long for this moment. They’ve been through a lot. Their love is a blessing for all of us. They are tied with very deep bonds. Their love is unique, so special and wonderful. Their love has changed lives. It changed mine, Kadir says. It changed their lives. I’m so lucky I had a chance to witness the happiness and love of this beautiful young couple. I’m proud to participate and hear them say yes to each other again.
The hit man is finalizing his plans. It’s gonna be tough lots of people around including cops.
The ceremony begins. You, Kerim, do you swear to respect this love and never let go of Fatmagül’s hand and that you will always be with her? Kerim looks at his bride and says, “evet”. I’ll try to make her happy as long as I live.
Kadir says, maybe no other couple got to know each other as well as you have. You’ve always been by each other’s side in good and bad. You had to overcome problems no other couple has.
And you Fatmagul, will you always be by Kerim’s side and never let go of his hand? She answers, knowingly and willingly, I say yes, I will. Applause.
Kadir asks, you Meryem Pakalin and you Fahrettin Ilgaz, do you witness the vows this young couple has just made? Yes, I do, Meryem states. I proudly witness, Fahr says. More applause. Kadir pronounces them eternal companions.
Muka snarks to Rahmi, I’ve never seen a wedding like this one. They all sign either a guest book or is it the photo album? Muka shouts to Fatma, step on his foot! Emre counters, abi, don’t let her be the boss. Fatma says, we won’t step on each other’s foot, right Kerim? He agrees and Fatma steps on his foot! She laughs. It’s for the sake of tradition.
I wish you a very happy life, Kadir says. Fatma wishes that for everyone. Aren’t you going to kiss the bride, Kadir asks Kerim? Kerim kisses her on the forehead and whispers in her ear, my heart is going to stop. Mine, too, she replies.
Fahr checks in with Mumtaz, is everything okay? For now. The hit man serves them drinks.
Music plays and Deniz tells the re-married couple to dance. Kerim whispers, “ebedi yoldaşım” my eternal companion. Fatma whispers, “yol arkadaşım” my life partner.
Song: Bana Ellerine Ver/Give Me Your Hand - Özdemir Erdoğan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcIiVvWgGVI
Kadir asks Meryem to dance. Kerim calls for his father and Jenny to come dance. Muka gets Rahmi up.
Musto talks to the prosecutor. Hacer has turned in her letter. Is this yours? Musto answers yes. We see the questioning interspersed with wedding photos. Why did you ask your wife to do this? I didn’t want to be in debt, Musto says. Why make two payments? Musto has no reason. Who did you give the money to? A friend. What is his name? Musto refuses to answer, he didn’t do anything. You can’t blame me for settling a debt, he says. There are more questions and Musto lies. The prosecutor warns if he is guilty, Musto will spend his life in jail.
Song: Vay Halime - Candan Erçetin

Some of this might have been cut: Fatma wonders where Omer is and Kadir lies and says he’s with his sick mother. We know he’s in Izmir dealing with Musto. Meryem begins to suspect something is wrong. So does Kerim and he asks Fahr. Now Muka is jealous of Deniz because she has Emre and Mehmet competing for her attention.
Neziye greets the couple. How do you feel? Your happiness is reflected in everyone. What a wonderful wedding. She pins a coin on Fatma. Fatma says this day is so important for her, she will never forget it. Kerim whispers to her, I will never let you forget.
There is an inspection of the Yasaran house. Munir produces a document that says they have more time to pay their debt. I don’t quite understand but whatever Munir has isn’t valid and the Yasarans are on the brink of losing their house and all their personal assets. Munir tries to make a last minute deal with Ender, but it’s no deal. Resat collapses.
Sami arrives at the wedding. He’s sure he will recognize the guy when he sees him.
Kerim is very suspicious now. He wants to go outside to talk to his father. Kadir stops him and tells him to stay with Fatma, he will bring Fahr back inside.
Sami spots the guy. That’s him! The chase is on. The guy tosses his gun away but is hit by a car. He’s caught. His job done, Sami needs to get back to Hacer.
Kerim insists to go out to his father, and he is swarmed by reporters. Fahr rushes over and they go back inside. Kerim wants to know why all the cops outside. Kadir says there was a drunk. Kerim’s not buying it. What are you hiding? Fahr says not now.
While Kerim is away, Muka tries to get Fatma to drink alcohol. Meryem sits down with them to make sure Muka doesn’t cause a problem.
Omer enters the prosecutor’s office. They found the man, they found the gun. Thank God he was caught before he harmed Kerim. He’s being questioned now. What do you say now, Mustafa? That man will talk soon. Are you going to deny you wanted to kill Kerim Ilgaz?
Sami calls Hacer and informs her they caught the guy.
Selim wanders streets in Greece. He’s broke and hungry. Looks like he’s thinking of stealing someone’s wallet and phone but he doesn’t have the chance.
Erdo reads the article about Fatma and Kerim’s wedding. He throws the paper. He thinks back to when they saw Fatma herding the sheep. That damned girl, he says.
Muka is getting drunk.
Fahr writes in the guest book: when you grow old, may your love never grow old, may it never diminish.
Live music plays and Meryem tells Muka let’s get up to dance, probably so she won’t make any more inappropriate comments. Fahr comes over and asks Fatma to dance. He asks Kerim to get up, too.
Resat is rushed to the hospital.
The hit man is interrogated. He denies, denies, denies. A file is brought in the room and the cop says, Mustafa confessed all. Now what do you say? Omer tells Musto that the hit man confessed all. You’re cornered Mustafa. Confess.
Cake is cut with Murat’s help. Fahr calls for music and it’s Zeybek time! Fahr calls Kerim out to join him. Fahr calls Fatma to get up and she dances with Kerim.
Musto is told there is an investigation for planned murder. He’s going to court. Staying silent won’t help. All Musto says is, Fatmagul will be Kerim’s wife.
Yasaran vigil at the hospital. Doc says, it’s not good. Could also be brain damage. [that could be an improvement] The next 48 hours are important.
Ha, ha, Fahr puts some lira on Muka’s head. She immediately tries to stuff it in her cleavage. Rahmi confiscates the money.
Someone enters Selim’s hideout. Selim panics. The man says calm down, are you Selim Yasaran? Greetings from Istanbul, from your mother and Ayce. Money and a phone. He says wait for a call. He leaves.
Back to the wedding. Kerim is sitting in the middle of the dance circle. This dance is “Damat Halayı”
Who cares about Resat in the hospital? Let’s go back to the wedding. Now everyone dances the Halay. Muka gives Mehmet some advice, you won’t win the girl by sitting here. Emre is sitting, she says, go ahead.
Fatma and Kerim need a break from dancing. They go inside; she needs to change her shoes. He helps her. Guests are starting to leave. Fatma is sure Deniz’s name rubbed off her shoe and Deniz looks at Emre. Muka comments to Meryem, they will be alone tonight, I’m so excited. [she’s excited?] Meryem warns, don’t make them nervous. Maybe the doctor should go with them tonight, Muka says. Meryem is disgusted with Muka.
And we are out.
Dear Dondi, thank you so much for all the details of one of my favorite episodes . It was so good to see Fatmagul and Kerim happy and excited to truly begin their life together and all their lived ones so happy for them . Of course, at this happy day for our couple, we see the descent of the evil ones in this tale.
Thankfully , Hacer and Sami have come forward to reveal Mustafa's plan to kill Kerim. Mustafa and his tortured soul had no where to go but down.
Those two pairs of shoes were interesting . It was sweet watching Kerim tenderly fasten the strap on fatmagul 's shoe. He looked hesitant but thrilled that she allowed him to do that. It was a lovely, intimate moment between husband and wife . You are mine; I am yours .
Muk is obsessed with the noche de boda. Geez. You are not invited to that . It's none of your business. Muk loves to show off her assets in those V neck tops she always wears . She isn't shy about shaking it up on the dance floor . Hey, look at me me me! Muk is the epitome of crude and rude . She doesn't fit into this newly formed family full of love and devotion . She could be a part of that strong love and closeness but she doesn't see her good fortune in being with all these kind, loving folks. Instead, her selfish, self absorbed ways have made her an outsider.
More later .
Thank you, dondi356. Excellent recap of a wonderful episode.
"The song does its trick, Fatma cries" - one of the women lifted Fatmagul's veil and checked on her. Yep, crying - mission accomplished.
Song: Bana Ellerine Ver/Give Me Your Hand. Nice song, appropriate for the wedding dance. Must be popular because I've heard it before. The bride looked so beautiful and the groom looked handsome.
Song: Vay Halime/Look at me. Very fitting for a wedding. Fun.
The hitman kept me tense during the wedding, so I had to watch it a second time to relax and enjoy. Or maybe I just wanted to see it again.
Selim is stealing food from stray cats! [how dare he!] LOL.
So sorry, my recap will be up shortly. I had to play catch up with eps for both Hercai and Fatmagul.
That was a Hall of Fame recap, novelera. The snark factor was off the charts great. Always appreciate the vocab.
carmella, your comments LOL!!!
I can’t add much to what was already said. novelera, I’d like to think your comment about Rey’s dream being a premonition is true. Although I don’t know how they can redeem some of these characters. I hate when they have automatic forgiveness and redemption. I hope we get a satisfying end. We are almost finished with Turkish ep 50 out of 69.
Mahmut rushes in to the sight of Azize on the ground with Hazar. She barks the order, untie his hands, quickly! Hazar comes around, coughing and crawling away from Azize. He turns to her and asks in increasing anger, what do you want from me? What do you want from me, woman?! What do you want from me, woman?!! Hazar staggers to his feet and lunges at Azize to put his hands around her neck. He’s pushed back by Mahmut.
Let me go, Hazar shouts and struggles. He grabs the gun from Mahmut’s waist band, pushes him down and points the gun at Azize. Tell me what you want from me! Mahmut scrambles back up to make another run at Hazar but Azize orders him to stand back. Don’t touch him.
Hazar continues to shout, what will you get from killing me?! Will your son resurrect from the dead? [you have, Hazar] Tell me! Azize remains silent.
Nasuh shows up and tells Hazar not to do this. Don’t do what? Hazar shouts in reply. This woman was going to kill me! She should have but then she saved me. He turns to Azize, why did you save me? Why did you change your mind?
Hazar is ranting like a madman. This woman has taken our lives from us! He shouts at Azize once again, what more do you want from me?! You took the woman I loved, you stole my son…what more do you want? My life? Tell me! Azize cries.
Hazar takes a page from Mehmet’s book and puts the gun to his head! NO! Hazar, don’t do it! Nasuh begs…son… So does Azize—son, my revenge is over. I swear it’s over. I won’t hurt your family or children anymore. Hazar, stop. Nasuh says that Azize is telling the truth, the revenge is over.
Hazar still has the gun to his head and Nasuh continues, it’s over, we made peace. Hazar lowers the gun but not his voice. When did it end? Now? She’s lying! Azize cries, I won’t hurt anyone. Please put the gun down. Hazar can’t believe his father believes Azize.
Nasuh begins to tell, son.. she’s… A horrified Azize interrupts with a plea—don’t speak. Don’t. Hazar shouts, what? She’s what? What is going on?! Nasuh honors Azize’s request. He tells Hazar, she doesn’t want you or anyone else to die. From now on, the revenge is over. We made peace. Azize confirms, it’s the truth, we made peace.
Hazar can’t process this. He thinks Azize is lying and his father is falling for it. Nasuh says he believes her and Hazar should, too. Hazar throws the gun down. Enough! He walks out the gate. Azize cries hard.
Miran is driving. He gets a call from Firat. Nothing yet. Do you think she hurt Hazar, he asks? Miran replies, if she did… Firat says not to do anything crazy. They will keep in touch. Miran will make Azize pay if she’s done anything.
Nasuh tries to comfort Azize. She asks him for the truth. How did my son survive? How did we end up like this? Flashback. Mama Gul tells Nasuh the big bad lie. She’s holding baby Hazar and says, he has no mother, take him. Nasuh can’t. He says I couldn’t protect his mother, how can I protect him? I killed Ayse. She asked me not to go, she was scared. I left my son motherless.
Gul continues, no one wanted this to happen [she left out: except me] but it was God’s plan. It was her time. Many died in that fire [I still wonder if she set it] Ayse, her siblings. I could only save my grandson. Be strong for your son. What will I tell him, Nasuh replies, I couldn’t protect his mother?
Gul has a plan. She wants Nasuh to marry. The baby needs a mother and he needs a wife. She chose one, Nazli. She wants to be a mother to your son. Go to Istanbul and return in two years. This is so Nasuh’s father will be none the wiser. He will think this is Nazli’s baby. It’s the only way, Gul says. Nasuh takes his son. end flash.
Azize tells her side of the story. Your mother told me my baby died. Hanife and I survived the fire. I waited days and months. I told myself you would come and take my hand so we could mourn our son together. But you never came, she sobs. How could I, he replies, I thought you were dead.
Nasuh, promise me that Ayse will hold a place in your heart, not Azize. [big ask] My son can’t know I’m his mother. You can’t tell him. I’ll return everything I took away. Maybe then he will forgive me. Maybe then he’ll call me mother. Let me hear him say it once…please…
What will you do, Nasuh asks, turn back time? She can’t but she is determined exchange her revenge quest into a forgiveness quest to get Hazar to forgive her. She begs Nasuh not to tell, don’t punish me with this. I became Azize because I lost my son, she explains. Let me become Ayse again for his love.
All this pain all these tears…Nasuh asks, how will you make them disappear? [Turkish] How do you get rid of the curses of all the innocent people? Azize says she can at least try. Just don’t tell Hazar. My children and grandchildren will forgive me. Ayse, do you think it’s that easy to be forgiven, he asks? She begs to try. Nasuh agrees to keep the secret and they both cry.
Miran drives up to Hazar’s and Mahmut’s cars that block the road. He sees a gun on the ground. Hazar staggers towards him. Miran hurries to meet him. Why are you like this? Who did this? Hazar reaches out but doesn’t quite touch Miran’s face. Was it Azize Aslanbey, Miran asks?
Seems Hazar has only shouting dialog in this ep. “Sana ne”?! what’s it to you! What’s it to you? Why do you care what anyone did to me?! What am I to you? I’m not even the father of the woman you love. Right? So why would you care about me?
Miran struggles to answer, Hazar Bey… Hazar fires back, stop calling me Hazar Bey! I am your father! I couldn’t be a father to you. I couldn’t learn to be a father to you. But you were stolen from me. They also stole your mother from me. Okay, it’s my fault! I should have asked, I’m an idiot! I was young! But the fire in my heart never went out! I never stopped loving Dilsah! I didn’t abandon you. I would give my life if you wanted, but you’d still rather believe Azize.
Miran puffs and shakes his head. Hazar explains that Azize almost killed him but then saved him from the fire with her own hands. And then she said she was done with her revenge! Hazar’s had enough, he walks away, gets in his car and immediately speeds off.
Miran calls Reyyan to tell he saw Hazar, he’s fine, don’t worry. [technically true] He adds he wants to stop at the hospital to give condolences to Gonul. Then he will come get her and the lentil. Rey shares the good news with her mother.
Esma tends to Azize, who is without her hijab and the ghoulish eye makeup. Azize tells her, God heard my prayers. Enter Miran. He sees her burned hands.
Miran asks, what do you mean the revenge is over? What was the point to try to kill Hazar, then save him? I changed my mind, she replies. It doesn’t add up for Miran, you changed your mind and gave up on 30 years of hate, games and lies? That’s right, Azize tells him. Why? Do you think I’m stupid? Azize never gives up. She only waits for a better moment. In fact, she’s capable of waiting 30 years [we know it’s longer than that], so her enemy can raise a daughter, then wait for the child she stole to grow up so he can carry out her revenge. But she never gives up.
Teary Azize says she has given up. I saw Hazar, Miran tells her, you tried to kill him so don’t sit there and say you gave up. I did it because I don’t have a grandson anymore to carry out the revenge, she says, I don’t want to hurt anyone else. I won’t touch the Sadoglus. You couldn’t if you tried, Miran replies, because you were only powerful thanks to me. Now I’m not by your side, I’m in front of you.
Miran goes to leave and Azize stops him. She tells Esma to get Dilsah’s things she put away. Miran scoffs, what is it? More fake letters to pit me against Hazar? Esma brings out a bundle. Azize says I heard you were having a child. That (bundle) was yours and your mother wanted to save it. Your baby clothes. Your mother was the last person to touch it. Miran takes the bundle.
Azize asks, do you think you’’ll ever be able to forgive me? Could you bring back my mother, he replies. [I have a feeling she can!] She says nothing. That’s what I thought, he says, stay away from the Sadoglus. He leaves with the bundle.
Esma notes Azize asked for forgiveness and asks if that means she’s not going to seek revenge anymore. She’s not. Azize tearfully reveals to Esma, Hazar Sadoglu is my son. Esma gasps. Miran is my grandson and my blood after all. My son is alive..
Fusun plots, we’re almost there Azize. A henchie comes in, they are here. Bring the car, she says, we are going back to the Aslanbey konak. Don’t let anyone in here before I come out and you know everything that needs to be done. She sends the henchie out. You waited 47 years for your revenge, Azize, I won’t wait so long. Everything will change tomorrow. Many things.
ReyMir are in the car. He hasn’t been to see Gonul yet. He went to see Azize instead. She said the revenge was over, he tells Rey. He looks at the bundle, that was his mother’s. Aren’t you going to open it, she asks. Mir is skeptical, thinking Azize could have thrown anything together. Don’t be afraid, Rey tells him, you’re not alone anymore…. You, me and our baby aka lentil.
ReyMir go to bed fully clothed. Let’s sleep, Mir says, tomorrow is another day. At least they are facing each other.
Cihan, Handan and Yaren are out on the patio. Yaren motions to her mother and Handan asks Cihan, have you been able to think about this? About what? About Fusun. He says he needs to think it over carefully. Yaren prompts her mom again. Handan tells Cihan that Yaren doesn’t want a divorce. Yaren pipes up that Harun doesn’t want one either. He will consider it.
Hazar wanders into the konak. Zehra is alarmed at his condition. What’s going on? My problems never end, he replies. He gets a call from Ali. The Granada konak was demolished! The immediate thought is Azize did it. But Cihan speaks up—I did it. I gave the order to demolish it.
The question is why? Cihan explains, because… whose konak was it, brother? It was Azat’s. And what did my father do? He took what was my son’s without even asking me. I wasn’t going to let him take what belonged to my son. If it won’t be Azat’s, it won’t be anyone’s. This is spite, Hazar replies. You are Miran’s uncle! Cihan declares, I am nothing to that man. He won’t even admit you are his father.
Hazar says he feels sorry for Cihan and starts to walk away. Cihan responds, it’s always my fault. You’ve always been dad’s favorite and now he has a favorite grandson to replace Azat. I won’t allow it. Hazar tries to hold back his anger. I’m tired of your attitude, he tells his bro, I’m tired of your jealousy, I’ve had enough! I’m tired of your unfairness, your words, your lack of respect. It’s over!
Like it or not, Miran is my son. I didn’t separate him from Azat and I won’t do it either. You want to do that and push me aside, Hazar accuses. Don’t call me brother again! If you don’t recognize my son, I don’t recognize you. Things haven’t been different up to this day, but you know what, Cihan says, you are right. Why would you recognize me if dad won’t bother? The brothers go separate ways.
Handan’s turn now. Zehra, remember I told you that the brothers would end up at odds? You didn’t listen. Are you happy now? Handan warns, sooner or later this will ruin your marriage, too. You’ll say I was right.
Miran touches Dilsah’s bundle. Did your beautiful hands touch this? Did you put this together? He unties it. Baby clothes and an envelope. It’s the pregnant pic of Dilsah and a note to unborn Miran: Everything is dark now, but you’re here, my treasure. Soon you will be out, my sunshine. I’m counting the days until I get to meet you so I can reunite you with your father. We see Hazar and Miran’s voice continues, I know he’ll love you very much, son. Be like him as much as you can. I want you to love him as much as I do. Miran wipes his tears.
Nasuh takes a sledgehammer to Mama Gul’s tombstone! You took my love from me, he cries. We see Azize as he says, you took my son. We get a shadow of Hazar. You took my whole life, Nasuh says. You were my mother. Why? Why? Why? Esma tends to Azize’s burns. Nasuh sobs over the broken stone. Why?
Gonul and Sultan get an envelope with whatever Aslan had in his possession. Then we quickly cut to her running outside the hospital to see Azat standing there. She runs to him and holds on, while she cries. He’s surprised. Not sure what he should do. [That just seemed oddly placed.]
Miran finishes the note: even if we have to meet later, I pray we never have to be apart. Come, son. Miran looks at a sweater with his name, a little toy train. Come and make this world better. Who loves you? –Mom. Miran looks at pictures of him and his mom. He kisses one.
Miran is driving. He flashes on some interactions with Hazar. He cries. He talks to Dilsah, he wants me to let him be my father and I want him to be. I want to be able to fill the void you left, with him. I really want to be able to call him dad. How can I do that mom? How will I do that? What will I do?
Miran returns to love shack. Rey is asleep. He slides in beside her and gently touches her hair. I don’t know what I have to do, he says softly. Actually I know, but I don’t know how. He gives her a kiss. I’m glad I have you, my angel. Thank God you are with me.
Miran wakes up later in the night. Rey is not in bed. She was a little hungry so she’s eating. A jar of chocolate sauce. He laughs. She’s having cravings. This excites him. He gets anxious, he’s not ready for this. He wants to go out to buy all kinds of chocolate for his little lentil. Rey stops him from leaving. It’s over, she says. Not necessary.
He says they should make a list of any possible cravings so they can be ready for cravings that are hard to find. He would go anywhere to get what she wants, Rome, Zambia, the other side of the world. She ready to be spoiled and he’s ready to do it. Rey gets a sudden craving for liver! He laughs. [liver after eating all that chocolate?]
Cut to ReyMir sitting out with Firat cooking what I guess is liver over an open fire. And it’s all wrapped up nicely for Rey to eat. Rey intercepts the one that’s for Mir. Firat is glad to do this, after all the lentil has only one uncle and that’s him. Rey asks, do you think the baby’s name will be lentil? [I wondered about that, too until I remembered that lentil is “mercimek” in Turkish.] Firat’s work is done and he tells Rey that there are other things he brought: all the chocolate in Midyat, every kind that exists.
Back inside love shack, Miran asks about Rey’s reaction when she found out she was pregnant. We get the flashback and as you can expect, she was overcome with emotion. I’m sorry, I reach a point where I can’t take these two together with the cutesy stuff. FF>>.
Azize gets ready to pray. She thinks back to Nasuh revealing that Hazar is their son. Then Miran asking, could you bring back my mother? This is divine justice she says to herself, God is making you pay for those you wanted to punish for years. God is making you beg to keep alive those you wanted to kill. This is divine justice. God, if you can hear me now, give me enough time to be forgiven by those I hurt and then take my life. [maybe He should do that in reverse]
She takes a folded baby blanket (?) in her bandaged hands and sniffs it. [this can’t smell very good] She continues, Azize, say your last prayer for your grandson Aslan and then return everything you took from Hazar and Miran. [gotta be Dilsah in the mix] You might be forgiven. Maybe. She sniffs that blanket again. [I never noticed this gray streak in Azize’s hair before, have you?]
Wow, Nasuh’s spent the entire night at the cemetery at the grave of his awful mother. I hope you never find peace, mother, wherever you are. I’m not giving you my right (his forgiveness, no helal olsun for Mama Gul), he says.
Ok, so not only does Rey have cravings, but Miran thinks she’s having pregnancy mood swings. She says it’s about her disbelief that the revenge is over. Miran has no idea if Azize has given up or if she’s planning something else, but it’s over for him. I can’t see or hear Azize Aslanbey. That man doesn’t exist anymore, the one who was weak before her. There’s only Reyyan’s husband and the lentil’s father. Miran says he’s going to give his condolences to Gonul. Rey wants to go with him. She remembers what Gonul told her. I might feel better if I see her, Rey says.
Esma tries calling Firat, she can’t get through. All the things I put up with because I was afraid of losing you, she says, and I lost you anyway. Azize overhears and tells her, you don’t have to keep quiet any more, go talk to him, you’re free now. Say what you want.
Esma can’t. Azize replies, you don’t have to keep secrets anymore. I’m going to say everything I’ve kept quiet about until now. I’ll reveal all. I’m going to rebuild all I destroyed. There’s no other way.
Esma worries, what if Firat never looks at me again after I tell him what happened? It wasn’t your fault, Azize says, you were a victim. You were the most innocent of those who were there that night.
Flashback: Azize’s husband, Nihat (looks like he might be drunk), comes out of Esma’s room. He’s “dishonored” her. Azize voice over: if I hadn’t stopped you that day, you would have killed yourself, even though you hadn’t committed any sin. If you hadn’t killed Nihat that night, I would have.
Esma holds a knife as she approaches Nihat. She lunges at him, die! He knocks the knife out of her hand and threatens to kill her if she talks. Nihat has his back turned to Esma as he stands at the balcony railing. She takes a run and pushes him over! Azize voice over: he deserved to die for what he did to both of us. We both kept the secret. I made you keep it but now I’m telling you to reveal it.
Esma is afraid she will lose Firat forever. Azize tells her, Firat is angry because you’ve been my accomplice in everything. He will understand. He will value the woman who gave birth to him and raised him. It will take time but he will understand. Esma can’t do it. She wants to leave the city. He can think I died. I can’t cast this shadow over my son’ life, she tells Azize.
Azize says, we can’t keep hiding the past. Firat needs to know the truth. It’s time he found out who his father was. Firat is an Aslanbey and he must take his place. [A child of rape and an Aslanbey, Firat get ready]
ReyMir arrive at the konak to give condolences. Firat and Harun are outside. Gonul goes out to meet them. Firat, Miran and Rey give their condolences. Sultana come charging out of the konak and starts screaming, you’re the ones who killed my son! You! Azize!
Sultana turns on Rey. I hope God never let’s you meet your baby! May God take your lives, too! Sultana has to be restrained. Rey backs away in horror. ReyMir try to make a quick getaway. Sultana breaks free and pounds on their car, screaming at the top of her lungs. Murderers! She’s dragged away and the car takes off. Sultana keeps screaming in the street.
Fusun tells her, they won’t get away with it. They will have to answer to you. You’ll wait nine months. Nine months for what took Azize years. Be patient. The revenge for your son is in Reyyan’s womb. Wait until the baby is born.
It’s time for Aslan’s funeral. Prayers are said and the dirt is shoveled into the grave. Cihan is there. I guess the pretense is it’s in support of his Harun.
I’m sorry grandson, Azize says, I couldn’t protect you. Fusun tells her, I thought you’d be too ashamed to come, but you don’t know the meaning of shame. You are a murderer, Fusun, Azize replies, you’re the reason my grandson is dead. His blood is on your hands. You think I’m weak because I’m not at the mansion. I’ll make you pay.
Console yourself like you always have, Fusun answers, you and your grandson, exterminated my lineage [I guess Harun doesn’t count because he’s a Bakircioglu. I’m still curious about him] If anyone is making anyone pay, it’s me. You will regret everything you’ve done.
Azize says there will be days of mourning, but after that… After what, Fusun asks? There’s no after for my enemy, Azize replies. After the prayers are finished, Fusun says to herself, two days left to live Azize.
Cihan takes the opportunity to speak with Fusun after the funeral. Your son and my daughter are married. We became in-laws without knowing. But now that we know, we can be friends, right? She nods and asks, is this Cihan Sadoglu speaking or the Sadoglu family? He answers, I am Cihan Sadoglu but I’m also with my family. Aslan is dead and my son almost died twice. Whatever we have to say must be said now so we know in which direction we are heading.
She gives him a look and he understands. She adds, the Sadoglus are not my enemies. We only have one enemy: Azize. There will be three days of mourning, then the war will begin.
Hazar is waiting outside the love shack. He’s brought Gul and the new baby, Bahar. Gul runs to Miran, dad says you are our “abi”- older brother. I always wanted a sister like you, he tells Gul. They hug. Hazar leaves Gul and Bahar in Miran’s care for a few hours.
Nasuh comes to see Azize. What are you trying to do, he asks, what are you trying to fix? There’s nothing to fix, he tells her. There is, she replies. You’re not the woman I knew, you’re not the Ayse I knew, so keep being Azize. But I don’t want to be Azize anymore, she says. Then don’t, Nasuh shouts. I want to recover my name, I want to be Ayse, she tells him.
Nasuh shouts some more, you should have come back! You should have found me and yelled in my face! I thought my son was dead, she explains. You chose to be Azize, he says. No, I didn’t, she replies. Nasuh tells her the fire not only killed her, it killed him, too. Do you know how many times I tried taking my own life? I put the gun to my head. [wow] But I chose to be a father to our son. I didn’t know, she pleads.
He wants to know why she didn’t ask. Did you ever trust me? Didn’t your heart wonder? Didn’t it say, “Nasuh would never leave me?” After all our promises, did you think I would fall in love with another woman? I was just a girl, she explains, your mother told me. Nasuh interrupts—my mother? My mother lied! And God will punish her. But what did you do? You decided to believe a lie.
I also destroyed myself, Azize says, I destroyed myself in that damned fire. I’ll make it through, trust me, I’ll fix this. Take that fire and leave once and for all, he tells her. You can’t fix anything. She says she has ideas, there’s always a way. She whispers something in his ear that we don’t hear. Nasuh’s eyes widen. That’s why I called you here. I’ll fix it. She leaves him standing there. [is it Dilsah?]
Mahmut drives and Azize says, there are some things you can’t fix but some you can, and this is one of them.
There’s stuff at the love shack with Gul, Bahar and Miran Abi. He takes some selfies with Gul Hanım. Then it’s story time and Gul falls asleep, next thing, Miran falls asleep beside her. Then Gul has plenty of questions for her brother and sister. Miran says you can ask all the questions you want. I’m going to answer all of them. Rey says we’re doomed.
Hazar gets a call from Mahfuz, he wants to meet.
Harun comes to talk with Fusun. She doesn’t have much time, but she’s listening. She wants to hear his excuses for what he did. I’m not here to give excuses, he says, there are things you should know. He pulls out a letter and hands it to her.
Aren’t you going to read it, he asks dear old mom. I know what’s in there, she replies. That’s a surprise to him, how? Neither Aslan or Mahfuz… he realizes, Aslan… You already know? He told you everything? He obviously didn’t tell me everything, she says, he didn’t tell me about your marriage. Asiye comes out to tell Fusun her car is ready.
We are in mourning, I’ll stay silent, Fusun says, but this isn’t over. We’ll talk later. You will not go back to that mansion. Harun tries to object. I’m leaving now, but I’ll be back tomorrow. She tells Harun he is in charge of this mansion until she returns.
Gonul comes out and hears. My brother is dead and you’re bringing your own son in, giving him our home, while Aslan’s body is still warm. With what right? You quickly dried the tears you shed for Aslan today. Fusun faces Gonul, not everyone can express their emotions as openly as you. My pain is for me. Now there are somethings you wouldn’t understand and that need to be taken care of. I wanted Harun to stay and help you in my absence. You have the same blood after all.
This mansion is ours, Gonul replies, don’t try to tell us what to do and how to do it. If your son can’t go back to the mansion where he married, he can go to the hotel. I don’t want him here. Harun says that’s fine, we don’t have to fight. I’m leaving. My condolences, Gonul.
Fusun orders Harun to stay. She tells Gonul her pain is still new. Just like all of us. But aside from that, your behavior is inappropriate. Gonul snaps back, I’ll decide what’s appropriate or not. I don’t know your intentions. You may have impressed my mother, but don’t think you can get into my head.
Gonul tells Harun you are a stranger here, you can’t stay, and neither can your wife. She’s not allowed to step foot in this house [I don’t blame Gonul] Never forget that. Gonul calls for Asiye, Harun is leaving, stay and make sure he leaves. She turns to Fusun, you were on your way out, go and don’t come back. This mansion belongs to the Aslanbeys. Not to the Bakircioglus. Gonul walks so does Harun.
Fusun gets the last words of the ep, [Turkish] you talk too much, Gonul. Were you always like this? Who is the real owner this home? You will soon understand who this mansion belongs to.
And we are out.
Dondi, thank you for another fantastic recap of this beautiful episode!
So good to see so much happiness for a change. Fatma's face was pure joy when she was dancing the night of her henna party. Not even a shadow of the trauma she has experienced it was pure happiness! Wish continued the day of the wedding of course! Such a beautiful celebration after everything they have been through to get there.
Thank goodness Hacer is a good and honorable person and not one of the many stupid people in this who keep quiet and protect their loved ones. I hope she is able to let go of the past and allow herself to be happy she deserves it!
I like drunk Muka she's entertaining. I have said it many times the character is awful and the actress is wonderful. I just love how her facial expressions, her dancing, her mannerisms. I would love to see her play a more likable character.
You are the “SSS (Superior Saturday Special) dondi356” of recapping dondi356! I needed your recap after the long day yesterday, I kept dozing off during this late, long episode.
Oh my goodness, Gul, Nasuh’s mother, was horrible. I am with you; she probably started that fire. Hazar was quite the dramatico last night. He was done with everyone and everything. I did like the sneaky way he left sister Gul and the new baby with their brother Miran. How can Miran say no to that?
Azize is on the way to redemption? I am sure she has Dilsah and plans to reunite her with Miran and Hazar as restitution, or at least attempted restitution. She looks much younger and attractive without the Adams family eye makeup.
Where was Fusun? Did you see the wheelchair in the corner of that unknown bedroom? Was the person who arrived potentially Aslan?
I enjoyed the ReyMir cutesy stuff, the cravings and the references to baby lentil. I am one of those strange people who really like liver, prepared correctly but not liver and chocolate.
“Firat is an Aslanbey and he must take his place. [A child of rape and an Aslanbey, Firat get ready]” DANG! I was not prepared for this huge reveal! I know we have speculated he is an Aslanbey and early on someone said he might be the product of one of the Aslanbey lusting pigs and now it is confirmed. Poor Esma and poor Firat.
I don’t get why Fusun thinks she can run the Aslanbey casa. I would think it falls to Gonul now that Azize and Reyyan are gone and of course because Miran isn’t an Aslanbey. So now that we know Firat is an Aslanbey, maybe Zeynep will be the new lady of the house. 😊
Thank you dondi356! I am looking forward to the last 2 hour episode that I have to recap on Monday.
Thanks so much, dondi! Terrific recap with those usual right-on-target asides you do so well.
You'd think Hazar would be more messed up from smoke inhalation, but then this is a dizi/TN and people never suffer long after attempts on their lives.
What the heck happened to Harun? As we've mentioned before, many of us were looking forward to his putting Yaren in her place. Now he's just everyone's whipping boy.
If I lived in Turkey, I'd be hesitant to spend money on a nice tombstone. You never know when a sledgehammer will be taken to it.
I agree, dondi, that some of the ReyMir scenes are enough to give Viewerville a toothache. And they pulled out the whole cliché playbook for the pregnancy. OTOH I craved watermelon and, luckily, had a July childbirth. VVS, I like liver and onions.
Yep, that grey streak on Azize is new. And I'm glad she ditched the extreme eye makeup. I thought they were going with no more hijabs after the big reveal. But she went back to them later in the epi.
I always suspected she did away with Nihat, but it was Esma all along. Wake the hell up, Esma! Firat deserves the truth. I am wondering about that adoption document Gonul found. Did they create one because there was no possible man around to have been his father, except for the rapist?
Sheesh. I am completely over Sultana. She really does need a few weeks in the manicomio to get her head right. Miran didn't kill Aslan. He was as nutty as you are, Sultana.
Seeing Fusun as the new avenger made me think of The Who song lyric: Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Forgot one more thing I meant to say. It's kind of sad in a way for Cihan. But it appears to be true that he loved Hazar so much more because he was the child of his one true love. Seems like he married Cihan's mother, Nazli, at his mother's bidding and never loved her.
Many thanks, dondi356, for another excellent recap. And I especially loved your clever, on-target side comments.
I confess I'm not happy with the increasing indications that Dilsah will return after being held a prisoner for 30 years. I'll save the rest of my rant for if and when this occurs.
Yes, I too noticed Azize's gray streak. I'm almost sure it wasn't there before this episode. Oddly enough, I think it softens her, which may be why it's only visible now.
I was very pleased when you said you couldn't take any more of the ReyMir cutesy stuff and you FF>>ed. I suspect I have even less tolerance for the repetitious cutesiness than you do, especially in a 2-hour episode that ends at 11 pm.
Hazar is understandably very confused about what just happened to him and understandably upset that Miran refuses to regard him as his father, but I do wish someone would take away his car keys until he calms down. And Miran seems to have inherited the driving-when-crazed gene. I keep fearing that one and/or the other of them will do to themselves what Azize's venganza never managed to accomplish.
So the fact that Harun's mother is an Aslanbey doesn't count because his father is not an Aslanbey? Is this discrimination true throughout contemporary Turkey or just in diziland?
So Nasuh has not become the voice of reason after all. He sharply criticizes Azize for believing his mother's lie. But he too believed her lies.
Again, many thanks.
Dondi, thanks for an excellent recap in which you handled the Byzantine details so much better than my spinning mind did. I am getting confused as to who is zooming whom .
Azz is sudddn!y a meek kitten, and Husan is the new wicked witch. Ding dong, which witch is worse.
One thing that never seems to change is that Rey gets blamed for everything , and now Fusie is threatening Rey's unborn lentil .
Regarding !iver, in Kara Para Ask , street vendors were selling liver sandwiches . My mother used to make it for my sister and brother in !aw's birthdays . Hub and I didn't like liver, but we enjoyed the onions, bacon, and baked potatoes that accompanied it. Liver would give an expectant mother lots of iron.
I craved oranges during my first pregnancy and couldnt stand eating hot foods . My dad went out and bought me a bottle of apricot liquor because he thought it would " settle my stomach." I nearly barfed just looking at the bottle.
My favorite part was Miran with Gu! And the new baby .
Thanks, everyone, great comments!
VVS, glad you mentioned the wheelchair, it was dark on my screen and I thought it was just a chair. Wondered who “they” were that arrived. This show has lots of twists so it could very well be Aslan with someone to care for him. Then who or what did they bury? A giant sack of potatoes? In all the dizi burials I’ve seen, the body is in a white shroud, taken out of the coffin and placed in the ground. But we didn’t see that part, so…
I agree that liver is fine when prepared properly but eating it right after chocolate sounded yucky to me. Then Rey went back to eating chocolate. I think I’d be sick.
Novelera, I’m a little disappointed in Harun, too. I think you’re right about Firat’s adoption papers. I agree that Firat deserves to know the truth, but could you imagine how hard it is to deliver that truth? I feel for Esma. I like the Who reference, ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’. We’ve been fooled few times in this dizi, and I expect to be fooled again before it’s done.
Juanita, “So the fact that Harun's mother is an Aslanbey doesn't count because his father is not an Aslanbey?” Maybe that is so in Midyat. I’m wondering how Harun got the last name of Bakircioglu. Fusun has the Aslanbey name, did she ever marry a Bakircioglu or did she have her son out of wedlock with one?
Susanlynn, “Regarding !iver, in Kara Para Ask , street vendors were selling liver sandwiches” it’s funny you should mention it, this clip popped up in my YouTube recommends today and I watched it!
Thanks for restoring my part 1, Juanita.
Thank you all for your great comments.
Susanlynn, I agree, the original wedding episode #74 was very special and very eventful. Very disappointed that Uni chose to chop scenes and break it up over two eps.
You are spot on with your Muka observation: “She could be a part of that strong love and closeness but she doesn't see her good fortune in being with all these kind, loving folks. Instead, her selfish, self absorbed ways have made her an outsider”
Darcy, If Muka wasn’t so bitter and jealous, she could be the fun auntie. She sure likes to party.
Lucio, I share your appreciation of the Turkish songs and how well they are used in dizis. And I’m always watching for cat sightings. It’s another reason I love Turkish dizis.
I’ll have a Friday recap up tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.
Dondi356
Awesome awesomeness 🦁🦁🦁🧞♂️🧞♂️🧞♂️
The SADoglu missed their opportunity to COP-BLOCK ....Aslanbey madness...with the Qisas
Qisas has been the theme here ...as well as the theme of Love as reflected in the poems of Maulana Rumi
Gonul Ice cold attitude towards Reyyan when Sultanate Sultana was Cursing 🤬 the baby lentil..🍼🍼 put me on pause..
BACK AT THE LOVESHACL.....Reyyan first reaction was correct..she didn’t want to see Gonul.....but ..Moron insisted?
It was calculated n shallow on Gonul part..Her request was BS!...he brothers death was due to his actions...nobody wants to take responsibility...Reyyan has been the reciprocal of all their sins...
Reyyan ,you need distance from these people
Family REUNIONS...... OF NO THANKS .....MASHALLAH
Reyyan should of discuss this with her family first..dues to the reverberations!..but knowing the SADoglus....
The family didn’t want her kidnapping know..shameful!dishonor again!
The response to Ashland death.. made me Wish the Sadoglu had gone to the Sheik n Mufti n demand Qisas...nevertheless..because they know how vindictive Aslanbeys are!
Donde356 :

Awesomely awesome awesomeness Recapping!📿🥊🥊🥊🥊
Thanks a bunch.,💯♨️
My recording from Friday was in and out due to weather conditions and the Uni online keeps booting me out, so I am relying mostly on the Turkish ep for detail. There might be differences between the Uni broadcast and my recap.
We start with a little bit of the developing love triangle between Deniz, Emre and Mehmet.
Deniz tells Emre she’s going back next weekend. Emre says he will be going back to the army once he has medical clearance. Mehmet joins them at the table. He asks Deniz if she will be here in the Summer. Maybe. She was thinking when she finishes school, she could get a degree in Turkey. Both guys are happy to hear it. It’s only a possibility, Deniz says. She asks Emre if he will write. Emre suggests that Mehmet go easy on the alcohol and start drinking tea instead. Mehmet replies he knows when to stop. Deniz takes his glass. Rahmi calls Mehmet away to help with the cleanup.
Back at the hospital, Peri watches Resat through the ICU window. Meltem arrives. She takes Peri’s hand and says she’s sorry. Me too, Peri replies. Unconscious Resat dreams of that night, Muka bringing the ring. Of confronting of Selim. His own arrest in front of Fatma and Kerim. It sets off alarms. Resat flatlines and has to be shocked.
All the guests are gone. The family is alone. Muka pipes up, I guess it’s time for them (the married couple) to go home. Fatma and Kerim give a quick look to each other. Rahmi says, we’re enjoying ourselves, they don’t have to leave immediately. Ah, let the kids enjoy their house, Muka replies. Notice the look on Kerim‘s face every time Muka comments. Meryem notes it was a beautiful wedding, she didn’t want it to end. Fatma agrees. Fatma and Kerim thank everyone.
Jenny can’t wait to see the wedding DVD and Fatma says everyone should come to watch it at their house. Muka drops another comment, you should first get used to each other before you start inviting people over. Then she says it’s time to go, I’ll be the first to say goodnight and everyone else should, too. Muka whispers in Fatma’s ear, relax, you have to relax to enjoy it. May you grow old in the same bed, she tells Kerim. He looks uncomfortable.
There are lots of hugs, kisses and well wishes. But Muka is anxious to send the couple off to their new home. May everything happen as you wish, she says. Kerim asks Fatma, to our home? They hold hands and gaze at each other. Note that Kerim tells Kadir he’s had nothing to drink. We see a little nervousness in their faces as they leave the yard and get in the car.
A doctor tells the Yasarans to prepare for the worst. [I’m ready, bring it on]
These scenes are interspersed: Musto is lead from the prosecutor’s office. Hacer is in labor at the hospital. Our couple has arrived and make the long walk up to their new home, with the neighbors looking. Kerim says let’s give them something to look at. He picks up and carries Fatma the rest of the way.
Musto is about to be loaded in the van when he makes a break for it. Stop! Musto keeps running. Stop or we will shoot! Omer is there and calls out as well. Fatma and Kerim unlock the front door of the house. Musto is still running, and a shot is fired. He doesn’t go down. Our couple enter their house. Musto is shot again, and he falls to the ground, dead. And then we see Hacer with her newborn son.
Cut: the rest of the family is having coffee. Omer calls Kadir with the news: Musto is dead. Suicide by cop. May God forgive his sins. The family is stunned. Kadir gives the others rest of the details. Musto hired someone to kill Kerim. Hacer found out and called. They show Musto being zipped into a body bag. Meryem warns Muka that Fatma and Kerim should be spared this news for now.
Lots of awkward silence in the new house. Finally, Fatma takes off her shoes and heads to the bedroom. She removes her headpiece and takes her hair down. Her back is to the door when Kerim enters the bedroom. He turns on the light and Fatma faces him. Kerim comes to her and puts his hand on her face. He gives her little kisses on the cheek and pulls her hair aside. His hands go for the zipper on her dress. We see a tear falls on Fatma’s shoulder and Kerim backs away. With his hand over his mouth, he starts sobbing and slides to the floor. Fatma kneels in front of him.
Giving you the entire Turkish scene here. Some time passes but Kerim is still very upset. He struggles to get his words out. It happened because of me. I can’t forgive myself even if you forgive me. That night… if I had not pointed you out that night… if I hadn’t held you… if I hadn’t touched you first.. none of this would have happened. That night wouldn’t have happened. I said, “look, it’s that girl” Kerim slaps himself on the mouth several times. I said, “that girl”! He breaks down and cries again. Fatma is teary too.
Kerim repeats if he hadn’t pointed her out, if he hadn’t held her, nothing would have happened. Fatma says, and if I hadn’t left home at that hour and if I hadn’t passed by… none of this would have happened. There are a lot of ifs and would haves. Do you think I’ve never thought of this, she asks, what if I never went to the engagement night? If I had not herded the sheep that day. If I had not been born…
You did nothing wrong, Kerim tells her. We can’t go back in time, she replies. We left the wouldas and couldas far behind. Kerim says, what we have been through has nothing to do with you. You are the only innocent one in this story. I changed your life. I didn’t let you pass by. I didn’t stop them. It’s like a fire inside of me, he says, it’s burning like hell. Trying to forget makes me feel shameless. My God, I was so scared for this night to come…. So scared of making you relive that night. I know you put so much effort to forget. But it’s easier said than done. I can’t get that night out of my mind.
Don’t forget it then, Fatma tells him. She moves closer and touches his face. Forgive yourself. Kerim replies, no matter what I do, I can’t get rid of the pain. We will do it together, she replies. Do you remember the night you told me how you wished it was over, he asks, how you wanted it to end? I want it, too, I want it to end. He starts crying again. That day will come, she says, it will end. Kerim can’t stop crying. Fatma is crying, too.
Eventually they are all cried out. Kerim tells Fatma to get some rest. She says talking felt good. It was like cleaning out the chimney. He puts his hand on her cheek, I love you so much, Fatmagul. She does and says the same. Kisses. Kerim helps Fatma up from the floor. More kisses. His hands go for the zipper and this time…. the dress falls to the floor and Fatma steps out of it.
Cut: we go directly to Fatma and Kerim getting set for breakfast, in total silence. They hardly look at each other. This was the end of Turkish ep 74. An outstanding episode.
Cut: continued silence as they eat breakfast. Kerim calls Lodos over and they put all their attention on him. At least they are smiling now. Then their hands touch as they pet the dog and… awkward… Fatma gets up to get bread from the kitchen. She stops in front of the bedroom and looks at the bed. Kerim comes in the house to get Lodos water. Fatma goes to the laundry room to get a towel. The sheets are in the wash. Another reminder… she crosses paths again with Kerim and goes wordlessly into the kitchen to slice some bread. She looks uneasy.
Cut: The family works in the yard to clean and pack up. Kadir speaks with Omer. He’s waiting for Serdar to claim Musto’s body. His funeral will be in Ildir tomorrow. Omer says they should tell Hacer. Kadir tells Omer she was in labor, maybe she’s had the baby. Omer says he’ll call but Kadir says not to do it by phone. He will go in person.
Muka is all broken up by Musto’s death. She’s known him when he was a kid. Meryem says it’s a pity… someone so young. Rahmi says he was mad at Musto, but this is a soul that was lost. Stupid! He dug his own grave. Muka says Musto will be reunited with his parents. God rest their souls, Meryem adds. And Deniz says he didn’t live to see his baby. [this is sad, another family wiped out.]
Meryem says she will go with Kadir. Kadir mentions that the kids shouldn’t find out now. Muka blows up because she feels that was directed at her. She storms off. Fahr says he will go with Kadir. Meryem better keep an eye on Muka.
Sami is very attentive of Hacer and the baby. The other women in the ward comment on this and tell Hacer she is lucky to have such a husband. He gives her a red headband [to avoid the evil eye]. Seems Sami has already fallen in love with the baby. He places him in the bassinet. While Sami passes around some chocolate, Hacer pulls a jewelry box out of the bag Sami brought. Rings, engraved with their names.
Hacer gets a call from Serdar. He’s at the morgue. He talks to her like she knows and asks when she’s coming for the funeral. Who died? She realizes it’s Mustafa. Serdar gives his condolences. She cries. Sami takes the phone.
Fatma takes her books to study. Kerim wanted to watch the wedding DVD. He decides not to turn on the TV as not to disturb her study. The washer goes off and Fatma gets up to see. The sheet makes her think again. Kerim says he will go hang it outside, but Fatma would rather it dry inside. Kerim has to escape. He goes to the yard. His worries surface.
A guard comes to get Erdo’s food tray and mentions he heard that Resat Yasaran might have died of a heart attack. Erdo gets upset and wants to make a call to his lawyer. The guard says he will see about it.
Kadir and Fahr come to see Hacer. She cries, they hold her hands. They give condolences and comfort. Hacer blames the Yasarans. How many lives lost, she says. May God punish them. She sobs.
Peri gets to see Resat. He’s awake but he can’t talk. There’s some brain damage, time will tell how bad it is.
Munir calls Selim and fills him in. Erdo’s in jail, they lost the company and are about to lose the house. We’re finished. Oh, yeah, and… your dad is in the hospital, he had a heart attack. Selim wants to talk to his mother, and she happens to come outside where Munir is. Munir passes the phone. We see reporters lurking and filming.
Giving you the Turkish here. Kerim works in the garden while Fatma studies outside. We see Fatma staring at Kerim and her brief recollection of the night, they are side by side in the bed, staring at the ceiling and they both look stunned. She goes back to studying.
Kerim looks over at Fatma and we get his flashback. Fatma is on her side facing away from him, she’s trying to process her feelings, and he’s facing up at the ceiling. He turns his head and asks, you can’t sleep? No. He says if you don’t feel comfortable, I can go into the other room. No, she answers. We never really see all that did or did not happen, just these after scenes. They look at each other and flash quick, nervous smiles, then continue with what they were doing.
Deniz and Muka are outside digging up their “wishes” from the ground. They explain to Jenny this was for Hıdrellez, the Spring holiday, that starts to the evening of May 5 into May 6. It’s the day on which the Prophets Al-Khidr and Elijah met on Earth. In the Christian world this holiday is connected with St. George. And I think dates are different according to which calendar is used, Gregorian or Julian. This is what I recollect, I hope it’s correct. I’m sure you can find more information on the internet.
Anyway, Muka explains they write their wishes then plant them under the rose bush. Do you notice Mehmet looking over at Deniz? Deniz wished about her graduation. Muka says they are supposed to throw them away. And then they can go visit Fatma. Meryem has come out with tea for everyone. She squashes the visit idea and Muka accuses Meryem of scolding her like a child.
Once again Muka makes a dramatic exit. She complains to Rahmi inside, now that Fatma’s gone Meryem’s immediately changed. She’s become the boss and will toss us out, you’ll see. Rahmi thinks Meryem wouldn’t do such a thing. Muka goes on about being picked on, she can’t take it anymore…etc. Rahmi says then let’s look for a place.
Meryem comes in and overhears. Muka changes tune, she can’t live in an apartment with two small children, while everyone else is enjoying this big house with a garden. Rahmi doesn’t know what to do. Do nothing, Muka says, if we want to stay, we have to shut up and put up with it. She goes upstairs. Meryem approaches poor Rahmi and tells him she never spoke about throwing them out. I only told her not to bother Fatma today. Rahmi understands, he knows his wife.
Cut: Mehmet speaks to Deniz about the party. He hopes he did nothing stupid because Emre called him out on drinking. Deniz assures him he was fine. Everyone had a great time. He asks Deniz if she has plans for later. She doesn’t. Maybe they can take a walk by the shore. She says ok.
Cut: Meltem and Gaye talk. They feel sorry for the Yasaran wives but Meltem makes the point that none of them are innocent. At least we haven’t lost our hearts, Meltem says, we can still feel sorry for our enemies. Ender busts in on the convo with the news that Musto is dead. Meltem is really affected by this.
Omer speaks with Serdar about paperwork and final arrangements. Serdar is still expecting Hacer to show up. He didn’t know Hacer had her baby. Wow, last night…the same night his child was born, Mustafa died. Serdar sums it up: Musto was a good guy, but he wasn’t cut out for this stuff. What a waste. A young man.
Kerim suggests they go out for a fish dinner. Fatma makes the excuse they shouldn’t spend the money. But we are on our honeymoon, Kerim replies. Fatma’s not even looking at him, she keeps preparing the tea. She looks so uneasy at the mention of “honeymoon”, but she says she’ll go if Kerim really wants. Poor guy is trying so hard to make her happy.
Fatma turns to him, we just got married. I’ll feel like I’m on display if we go out now.
Kerim says it’s fine, they have a lot of food in the house. But let me say this, he tells her, we have nothing to be ashamed about. She knows, but… Kerim suggests watching the wedding DVD. She’s good with that, but she gets that uneasy look once Kerim leaves.
Cut: Muka shouts from the window to the family in the garden: Resat had a heart attack last night. Mehmet shows up and Fahr says Deniz already left for the shore with Emre. Cut to Emre and Deniz, he tells her about Hacer, and Fatma running away, etc. He tells Deniz she joined the story from the happy chapter. Deniz says Fatma could write a book. Emre tells Deniz she is the most beautiful part of the story…. Uh… he means she’s a good part of the story.
Deniz shares that Kerim was the missing part of her life. Her father would feel Kerim’s absence even in his happiest moments. But these happy days make up for it. I met the other half of my father. My father is smiling.
Mehmet finds Deniz and Emre by the shore. He thought they were going to go out. Emre invites him to sit. Deniz says they are going to a concert tonight, want to come? Emre’s not very happy. Mehmet says they were supposed to go out to eat “kokoreç”, Deniz is excited to try it. lol If you want to know what it is, look it up.
Snacks are ready and Kerim turns on the wedding vid. Deniz has a “cinéma verité” style of filming. Kerim stops the vid to focus on Kadir talking on the phone to Omer in Izmir. They realize that Omer was not with his sick mother. Kerim thinks he was there to keep Musto from ruining the wedding. Did he (Musto) call you, he asks. No. Really? Don’t start, Fatma says.
There’s a lot of cute video stuff… Kerim stops it when he sees a shot of Kadir and Fahr talking about something that seems suspicious to him. He wants to call the house. Fatma asks him not to call today. He puts the phone away. If there’s bad news, he wouldn't want to hear it today anyway.
Meryem, Muka and Jenny are in the kitchen. Muka gossips about Meryem cutting her honeymoon short and adds all the stuff with Musto, Kerim and Fatma’s kidnapping. She’s dying to let Fatma and Kerim know what happened to Musto. Meryem gives her a very stern warning.
Muka offers, did anyone think Fatma might want to go to the funeral? What if she blames us for not telling her? Jenny sides with Meryem and says Musto was a bad guy. Muka explains that Fatma had history with Musto. They had good days as well. [I swear I don’t know how Meryem keeps her temper in check]
Back to the love triangle. Deniz leaves the table to clean her blouse and Mehmet accuses Emre of trying to seduce Kerim’s sister. They have to cool it when Deniz returns.
Back to the wedding vid. At least they are smiling now. [I wish I had a copy of this DVD] Kerim puts his arm around Fatma, but they are sitting kinda far apart.
Serdar follows the truck carrying Musto’s coffin. He sheds a tear for his friend. They cut his flashback when he advised Musto to move on and forget about Fatma.
Cut: Erdo gets pen and paper and starts writing his confession!
News reports show Peri and Munir on the phone talking to “Selim”. There are captions to the video that show the convo. An investigation was opened on Munir and Peri. Cops come to get Peri at the hospital.
Deniz comes home from her “date” with Emre and Mehmet.
Cut: Muka is right there to catch her as she comes into the yard. She congratulates Deniz on handling two at the same time. Deniz has no idea what Muka is getting at. They are both hitting on you, Muka replies. Deniz shuts that down. Muka asks if she went by Fatma’s house. A firm no. Muka wonders how she cannot be curious. [maybe Deniz has finally learned her lesson about that]
Cut: Fatma falls asleep on Kerim’s shoulder while watching the video. He stops it and tells her to go to sleep, he will clean up. She quickly changes. Kerim cleans up and goes to the bathroom to brush his teeth. Fatma settles into bed facing away from Kerim’s side. Kerim asks if he can come in. She shuts the light, he changes his clothes. He hesitates to get in bed. She tells him, sleep well. You, too.
What body language! She’s on her side facing away and he’s facing up with his arms folded across his body. Kerim begins, Fatmagul… we have a lot of time ahead of us. Plenty of time. Last night was tough for both of us. We both went through something difficult. But it doesn’t always have to be like that. I’m talking about the future… it shouldn’t feel like we are going to through a test. I don’t want it to feel like we are taking a steps just in order to heal…. Like taking medicine
Fatma turns to face him. I don’t want it to feel mandatory, he continues. I really want it to happen naturally and willingly. Last night was too soon for both of us. But we have a lot of time ahead of us. I won’t force you to do anything. Trust me. I know, she replies. I won’t ask you to do that again, he tells her, I will wait for the right time to come. I know everything will be fine in time. It will be because we want it to be. I only ask one thing of you. I don’t want us to get away from each other. I want to feel you are sleeping beside me. To feel your scent… to touch your hair… and feel your warmth. To open my eyes with you. That’s all I can ask from you for now. He gives her a little peck on the cheek. Sleep well. You, too. They sleep facing each other.
Things look a little more relaxed the next morning. Kerim goes out to buy some stuff and pick up a newspaper.
Hacer gets discharged from the hospital, with instructions.
A woman at the store recognizes Kerim. As he goes out the door, she asks the shopkeeper, that’s him, right? Kerim looks at the paper outside the store and reads the news. He calls Kadir, who is at Rose Kitchen with everyone else. He confirms what Kerim read.
Serdar and Hacer talk. Musto is in the same cemetery as his parents, Omer Bey helped with arrangements. She asks if there were any relatives. Just some distant ones on his mom’s side but they stopped talking after the incident. Serdar made an announcement at town hall, but no one cared. He assures Hacer he will carry out his duties with Musto. She thanks him. He feels guilty that Musto was caught. It could have happened anyway, but it hurts I was the one to give him up. He did terrible things, but he was a friend of mine. It’s a shame it ended like this. End call.
Hacer cries and Sami points out that Musto was a victim of his own decisions. It’s no one’s fault. Think of Murat. [she named him Murat after all]
Kerim goes to Rose Kitchen to get the full story of what happened with Musto. Musto’s plan, Hacer’s warning, Musto’s suicide by cop. The mailman arrives and there is a letter from Musto. Kerim leaves Rose Kitchen with the letter.
Fatma gets brekkie ready and sees the news report about Mustafa. She is so stunned she drops a plate. Kerim arrives home. He hears the TV. News about Peri and Munir is announced. Fatma sits on the couch still looking shocked and Kerim says, may God forgive his sins. Kerim takes the letter out of his pocket and hands it to Fatma. He goes to sit at the dining room table.
Fatma reads the letter with scenes of Mustafa writing the letter, his burial and his various betrayals of Fatma interspersed: Fatmagul, my beloved, if this letter reaches your hand, it means I have completely given up on this life. It means you have become Kerim’s wife. It means that my biggest enemy has been granted the happiness that I could never have.
It means that I have no hope left and I’ve completely lost you. And it means the time has come for me to burn by the fire that’s been growing inside me since the day I walked away from you. I loved you so much Fatmagul, you were supposed to be my bride. They didn’t allow it. When I came back with regret after turning my back on you, Kerim stood before me. He was the one who separated us, he is the one who came between us.
I hate Kerim. I hate the life that tested me with you. I hate myself for being so weak. I hate the time that I could not take back. I lost you the day you came to our house when I turned my back on you. I lost you when I remained silent despite knowing the truth. I should have accepted I lost you when you left holding his hand. But I couldn’t.
I didn’t have a life without you, Fatmagul. I lost everything when I lost you. Now that you will never be mine, there’s no reason for me to breathe. Fatmagul, my beloved, I’m wrapping myself up with your absence now. This time I’m out of your life forever. I loved you more than everything. You chose Kerim, and I chose death. Goodbye. Fatma has tears. She looks at Kerim. This was the end of Turkish ep 75.
Cut: Fatma tells Kerim, I was confused at first, one cannot fully understand it. The news felt so distant to me. It was like reading the death notice of a stranger. It felt that distant. Perhaps the confusion made me numb, that’s why I felt that way. The letter made me come to my senses. That’s when I remembered who he was. The things he did to me. He even wanted you killed at the end.
Kerim says, while we were getting married, my father and Kadir were trying to find the man he hired. Once he couldn’t get what he wanted, he got himself killed instead. He went crazy, Fatma says, the letters he wrote to me, the phone call he made, a normal person wouldn’t do such things. After everything, saying “wait for me” was madness. He tried to put everything on my shoulders. He wanted to kill you to condemn me to misery. He tried to punish me as if I was the reason everything happened. And he wrote that letter to punish me for the rest of my life, not because of his love. He wanted me to think I was the reason for his death. He wanted me to feel remorse.
Kerim takes Fatma’s hand. Don’t feel responsible for this he tells her. Fatma says this ending was his choice, not mine.
Hacer is at the shore with baby Murat. As she heads back to Sami waiting at the cab, she gets a call from Serdar. It’s done. He’s coming to bring Musto’s things: clothes, his ring, his watch. Serdar mentions there was a letter and he thinks it was for her. Hacer thanks him and hangs up. She tells Sami that Musto wrote a letter to Fatma. Let’s go home, he replies.
Fatma is still thinking about Musto. He always took the easy way. He always ran away. He didn’t even care about his child. Kerim says what he did was not normal. When he shot me and kidnapped you, he didn’t even think he could end up in prison. He was obsessed with separating us. He wrote you every day to persuade you, including calling you. Fatma is surprised, he wrote me every day? I know you didn’t read any of them, Kerim replies. Any of them? I only received two from him, she says. One I threw away and the other I read because Meryem suggested and then I threw it away.
Kerim gets quiet. Fatma questions, why did you say he wrote every day? Kerim tells her he understands why she would hide the letters, but she didn’t throw them away. She bristles, who hid what? I didn’t hide any letters! I saw them, he says. Where? They were under your bed. Fatma pops up from her chair, under my bed? Were you dreaming? He explains it was the day we got deliveries. Muka told me to keep the things under your bed and I saw all the letters. We get the flashback.
They were all open and read, he says. I understand you were curious… she stops him, I didn’t feel curiosity or anything. She is adamant, she didn’t hide anything, she didn’t even see them. Fatma gets riled up. So that’s why you went to Bodrum, she tells him. If you didn’t hide them, then who did, Kerim asks? It’s obvious who did it, Fatma replies. Answer me now, is this why you went to Bodrum?
At this point, the family makes their way up the steps to their house, Muka leading the way. She sees that Fatma and Kerim look like they are arguing. She’s delighted, hurry, hurry, she waves the rest to follow her. Kerim gets it now.
Fatma turns to see Muka standing. She makes a beeline to her yenge. She shouts, what kind of a human are you?! And she grabs fistfuls of Muka’s hair. Stay away from me! Fatma is pulled away. She screams at Muka. You hid the letters! You wrote him back! God knows what else you did! Fatma attacks Muka again. They are separated again. Fatma spits at Muka. [this is the moment our patio has been waiting for!!]
Rahmi questions his wife, what did you hide? Kerim points and tells Muka she should be ashamed. Muka says, why is everyone mad at me? Don’t talk, Fatma shouts, shut up! You are my enemy! I never want to see you again for the rest of my life! Leave my house!
Muka shouts, I told you she would change after the wedding. [Turkish] as if I love seeing your ungrateful face! Fatma screams, get out of here! Leave! Muka shouts at Rahmi, if you believe this and leave me defenseless, you will never see your children again! She grabs the baby carrier and leaves.
Fatma cries out to Rahmi, it’s enough. No more suffering. I put up with it because of you. But she destroyed my life. She made my life hell from the beginning. You’re my brother and I would never turn my back on you, I will always love you. But you have to keep that woman away from me, so she won’t cause any more damage. She cannot set foot in this house!
Rahmi hugs his sister and tells her to calm down, don’t cry. Don’t worry, she wont return. You won’t see her. Rahmi leaves. Kerim reaches out for Fatma, but she backs away and shouts, don’t touch me! How could you think I would do something like this? Listen, Kerim says… Fatma doesn’t want to listen. You left without even asking me, she shouts. Is this how you trust me? Is this how much you believe me? She heads to the house.
Meryem and Kadir tell Kerim not to pressure Fatma. She goes to her bedroom, shuts the door and flops on the bed and cries.
Meryem asks did you mention the letters because she got this last one? Kerim says we were just talking and ended up there. Kadir knew this would happen. Meryem says this is too much, even for Muka. It’s obvious her objective was to separate you. Kerim says that woman is more dangerous than we think. She’s sick in the head. Kadir wants to go, he’s worried Muka will take it out on Rahmi.
Meryem tells Kerim to take good care of Fatma. She’s devastated. Don’t pressure her, Kadir adds.
Fatma is crying her eyes out in the bedroom. Kerim knocks on the door and opens. Fatmagul? Please leave me alone, she sobs. He closes the door. She continues to cry.
And we are out.
Thank you, Dondi for another wonderful recap! You've outdone yourself!
This: 'A doctor tells the Yasarans to prepare for the worst. [I’m ready, bring it on]' was awesome!!! Right? I was shocked to see how upset Erdo was to hear about Resat. It's like these people who hate each other actually care about each other deep down. Silly me, I just treat the people I care about well.
The Turkish ep showed more details of Kerim and Fatma's talk and it was touching. Fatma is right, Kerim has to let go of the 'what ifs' and just forgive himself. He says nothing would have happened if he hadn't seen her first and held her, etc etc etc. And that might be true, but it might not be. Erdo or Selim or Vural might have seen her 3 seconds later even if he had said nothing. Or any number of other possibilities and none of them will ever change what happened. There's nothing to do except deal with what did happen and find a way to forgive and let go.
Mustafa meets his doom via suicide by cop, that works I guess. It's sad but that twisted soul was probably just going to keep trying to kill Kerim until one of them died anyway. What a waste and so healthy that Fatma saw right through his bs in that letter and called it correctly that he was just trying to hurt her one last time. I was watching thinking she shouldn't even read that letter.
For some reason, the whole Sami and Hacer idea grew on me in the hospital. Maybe it's because he was so cute with the baby and the rings. I still think it's problematic that's he's clearly in love and she's not - but maybe she will fall for him. He's cuter than Mustafa was and you know sane and actually caring. Hopefully, she doesn't become one of those women who is only attracted to emotionally unavailable men who treat her like crap. A happy ending would be much more enjoyable.
"Fatma spits at Muka. [this is the moment our patio has been waiting for!!]' Yep, I loved it! Way overdue!!! And of course, Muka tries to deflect. Man, can that woman ever take responsibility for anything? I hope Fatma sticks to her guns. She needs to eliminate that toxicity from her life.
And then Fatma lit into Kerim and he deserved it too. Sad to see them fighting again already, after only like 5 mins of happiness but I love that Fatma stands up for herself.
Thanks so much for another terrific recap, dondi. And, yes indeed, the Patio was about to give up hope that Muka would ever be confronted about what she did. Kadir came close, but everyone always backs off when she puts on that huffy, don't you dare accuse me attitude.
Fatma is right to be angry at Kerim for behaving in that distant way without even telling her what was wrong when she asked, repeatedly IIRC.
I was a bit surprised Peri didn't want Resat to die. I guess that many years of marriage, even to a rat, means something.
Hopefully there's some punishment for Munir for being involved in concealing that they knew where Selim was hiding out. As I've said before, I hate him the most. Well...maybe except Mustafa.
Musto had gone completely off the rails trying to kill Kerim TWICE. He wasn't even that nice of a guy to begin with. I remember his trying to push Fatma into having sex before marriage, while they were in that house he was building. And the way he barked at her when she met Kerim for the first time. It was true he'd only asked for directions, but Fatmagul would have been in for a lifetime of possessiveness and suspicion if she'd married him. Plus I can't imagine him having encouraged her to continue her education. He was MEstafa the whole way.
Dear Dondi, wow thank you for another great recap of an episode filled with twists and turns . The writers are brilliant in showing that the healing won't be easy and straightforward . Two steps forward may mean one step back .
The wedding day was so joyful (except for the hitman Mustafa sent to kill Ke rim . Even that provided an opportunity for our lovely heroes Fahr, Kadir, and Sami to protect Kerim and save the day ...so much love and care in this newly formed family. I love heroes.
Muk was so delighted to whisper in Fatmagul's ear to scare her about the noche de boda. I would like to see a compilation of kerim's reactions to stuff Muk says and does. Those facial expressions of his are funny.
To tell you the truth, I wasn't sure if the awkward morning between Fatma and Kerim was because he was or wasn't able to consummate the marriage. After reading what he said to her , I guess he was able to , but it was traumatizing for both of them, and he assured her that she wouldn't be expected to do anything she didn't want to . He is The epitome of a patient, loving husband.
MuK was hustling up that walk so excited to observe the fight she heard between Kerim and fatmagul ....and then. ....yikes. ..usually mildmannered , tiny Fatmagul leaps on Muk and grabs handfuls of hair. Wow just wow. However, as always Muk thinks she has done nothing wrong.
Love Sami .
Interesting. Susanlynn, I didn't think they "did the deed" at all. Maybe I misunderstood. I thought all of his assurances that she would not have to do anything she didn't want to do meant that, even though we see the dress fall to the floor, nothing happened. And perhaps she showed her fear, preventing the consummation. These dizis are so subtle. A Latino one would have shown more so we'd understand better.
My expectation, and belief, is that whenever they show this happening, Fatmagul will be enjoying the sex with her husband.
Novelera, the reason I thought something happened was because Kerim told Fatmagul, " I won't ask you to do that AGAIN. " ...and the sheets had to be washed . I thought that Kerim being able to unzip the gown and the gown falling to the floor meant that he was soldiering on. They were both shy and uncomfortable the next morning , and Fatmagul waa upset about the sheets. It was unclear what had happened , but Fatmagul !ooked embarrassed and Kerim looked sheepish .
Thanks everyone for reading and commenting. We are in the home stretch now.
I can’t say this enough: UniMas has done us a great disservice with their hack job on this dizi. The wedding night should have been shown intact. I read that the actors received no direction for that scene. The cameras were set up and the director let them run with it.
The Turkish clip can be found on YouTube.

I can’t say that Musto was my most hated villain even though he tried to kill Kerim twice. He was delusional at the end. He was a product of the local culture. And look who his parents were. He was spoiled as hell. He was a coward and an a-hole. He couldn’t even kill himself, he made the cops do it. As he admitted in his last letter, he was weak…too weak to overcome.
I agree that Fatma wouldn’t have had a good life with him. And I agree with you, Darcy, Fatma handled it all very well in the end.
I hate Muka much more, she is radioactively toxic. Munir is right up there with her, he’s despicable—I’m with novelera on that.
Another scene that was much better in the Turkish was Fatma’s attack on Muka. You ought to hear Beren screech! I never get tired of watching that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ee80UiUn85E
Kerim made a blunder with the letters. But I’ll forgive him.
Hacer and little Murat are lucky to have Sami. Hacer needs a little time.
I’ve concluded that it doesn’t really matter if the marriage was consummated or not on the wedding night. Either way it was another trauma. But I thought they did it for the same reasons Susanlynn mentioned.
Thank you, dondi356.
Good for Kerim to have the talk in bed on the second night and address the tension between them. Fatmagul was prepared to set up defenses every day in case he proposed to become intimate again. When he said they didn't have to rush or force anything and that he would not ask her again, she felt the weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
Finally! Fatmagul throws out Mukaddes. Long awaited moment indeed!
