Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #20, 03/22/22: Ciao, Babeeee!!!

Adrien is thinking of Andrea and their fun times while she was growing up.  He remembers telling her they're two peas in a pod and she knows how to get what she wants.  "--Never forget it!"

Andi and Natalia have a real mother-daughter chat about how horrible the Hadid's humiliated her, and how Omar had failed to stand up for her or their relationship once again even though they were insulting her and treating her like trash.  So, she asks to move back home.

At the same time, Vicente is taking down the protest signs hung over the wall.  Omar knocks and states he wants to speak with his girlfriend. Chente says she's speaking with her mother and it is best for now if he leaves them alone.  Omar insists.  Chente says have a seat; they'll be done in a bit.  Chente take a minute to ask why such a hurry to get married.  He politely asks to offer some advice, man to man.  Omar refuses and rudely tells him that he's not part of the family and to stay out of it.  Chente gets just as rude and tells him they are all family under that roof and so he's going to listen whether he likes it or not!  Omar tells him again he has no reason to listen to anything Chente says.  Chente tells him to ditch the attitude.  Then Nata arrives.

Nata goes down to fix tea for Andi.  Andi's phone rings.  "Unknown number."  She guesses it's her father.  He tells her he misses her a great deal. She hears the ocean in the background and gives him Hell about the conditions they live under now that he's gone off and abandoned them.  "--You get a view of the ocean and I get to see clotheslines!!   I am in a room a princess would NEVER stay in!   He offers to send some money.  She tells him he doesn't get off that easy.  "You think that we'll forget everything after what you did to us?"

Nata tells Omi she doesn't want him speaking to her daughter and upsetting her.  And if he loves her so much then why didn't he stand up for her?  You let your parents insult her and I am extremely disappointed with you. She asks him to leave.  He stalls.

Back upstairs Andi tells him how the Hadads treat her like trash and even made her apologize to them for the money he stole.  They treat her like a common thief!  He tells her he's sorry.  Not enough, Pops! She's never been so humiliated in her life!  She never wants to hear from him again, ever!  Click.  Adrien takes a moment to reflect and then throws his cell phone into the ocean.

Chente reminds Omi that Nata's already asked him to leave nicely, but he won't.  Omi insists on apologizing for how badly things went.  Nata says too little too late.  Chente gets rid of him "Ramirez style" and throws him out the door.  Omar yells up to the second floor and Andi does hear him.  She runs outside to speak with him. Regi runs to the window and declares that it's obvious she's going to forgive Omi.

Chente and Nata share a bit of conversation: Chente says she cannot let them get married.  Nata says she has to respect their decision if they do marry.  She'd rather not fight and not drive her daughter away again.

Outside in the car, Omi promises it will never happen again and he will marry her despite everything and everyone being against it.  She gives him one last chance.

In the Caribbean, Veronica complains that she couldn't find Adrien when she got back and his phone mail was all she got.  He tells her he was walking along the ocean.  He adds that Nata is old news and it was a good thing leaving everything behind.  "--You are the love of my life."

After they kiss and makeup, Omi is ready to take Andi back to the apartment.  She says no, she'd rather stay a while with her family.  The barrio may be falling down around her but the place is a thousand times better than having to listen to his parents' insults.  Once back inside she tells Nata about her accepting Omi's apology and that the wedding plans are still on.  They hug and Andi even waves good night to Chente.  He reminds Nata that at least she has a few weeks now to convince her daughter to change her mind.  Talk turns to Benji and that the therapist has noticed a positive change in him since she's moved into the house.  He asks if she'd come and be a part of the therapy sessions with him.  Nata is thrilled.

Ver seduces Adrien that evening.

Chente and Nata have tea and look at the protest video Regi and J2P2 made together.  FF>>FF>>

The next morning the girls are walking past Chole's shop when Olga walks out and begins the insults, calling their mama a slut whose only purpose is to land a man. That man is Chente.  Regi warns Vulga de Olga to stop insulting her mother.  Andi tells Vulga that her mother would never be interested in a man like Chente, who actually looks like a gorilla.  Nata appears and Vulga tells her to tell her daughters how she found her with Chente the other night, "practically in the act."  Nata admits it's true that they all live in the same house, but the one that's harassing and stalking Chente all the time is Olga. She should show a bit more class.  "--The guy's already told you he's not in the least interested.  Give it a rest already."  Yeah, he's only right for a low-life piece of trash [naca] like her.

Meanwhile, Adrien is having breakfast with Tania and Ver.  He's got to go by the bank and make some transfers.  Ver lies and says they'll go shopping and get back together in the afternoon.

William calls Constanza to remind her he wants his payment today.  Gustavo comes down and she pretends she's speaking to Fernanda and says they'll meet later at the club.  Tavo gets uptight remembering his introduction of Chole to Fer in the restaurant.  Connie suggests they take a bit of time away together to renew and refresh away from all their current problems.  He's happy to oblige.

Omar races into his father's office to complain.  Elias mentions he knows Andi already left the apartment.  Omar tells his dad then that he's had it.  He's marrying Andrea and that is that!   Don't threaten to take away his privileges cuz he's there to give them up: the keys to the car, the keys to the apartment and the house, and his credit cards.

Instead of going shopping, Ver and Tania meet up with Pedro who explains they're flying to Miami and then to Europe.  In fact, Ver has even gotten Tania a fake passport!  Ta-dahhh!

Meanwhile, Adrien has started looking online at his bank account.  It is now full of goose-eggsOn their way back to the house, Nata asks them not to fight with Vulga again. "--She started it!"  Regi says how ridiculous, especially after how their dad left them she cannot imagine her mother wanting to date this soon.  Andi is quick to add that Chente would be like going from caviar to chilaquiles [cheese nachos].  Suddenly, Sammie's limo pulls over.  Sammie has urgent news to discuss with Nata.

Across town, Elias refuses to hear of his son, a Hadad, marrying the daughter of a known crook!  Omar says his pops can take his sir name also if he wants.  In fact, he doesn't know why he hasn't already.  Elias warns him if he leaves now he doesn't come back.  (Never ever?  Never ever!)

Sammie won't enter Chente's front patio.  She wants to talk alone and in the limo.  Andi pipes up that if she's going to be talking about her she wants to be present.  Sammie snidely replies that she wants "to speak with the owner of the spa, not the masseurs."  Nata's heard enough and tells Sammie to cut out the insults. Sammie insists "-- Nobody's going to take away her Chu-chu just to escape poverty!"  Nata refuses to speak in the car.  Sam reminds her that everyone in the barrio is listening, so "--get into the car!"  Ok.  That makes sense to Nata and she gets in.

Adrien races back to the room and sees the message written on the mirror in hot pink lipstick: "Ciao, Bambino." He checks the safe.  There's nothing in it now but a bouquet of dead yellow roses.  He's penniless and doesn't even have a passport now.

Sam accuses Nata of being behind Andi's insistence on getting married--or rather-- entrapping her Chu-chu, heir of the great Hadad fortune, so Nata has a meal ticket and a way out of poverty.

Meanwhile, Tavo and Claudio are enjoying a couple of cold ones in a neighborhood cantina.  Claudio mentions he has knowledge of Con's having had an affair with William, the club gym trainer.  He knows because Willie came by the other day to drop off a pair of earrings Connie had been missing.  "Yes, it's usual to note that women generally lose an earring, but never a pair of them."

Connie brings a check to the gym and hands it over.  There shouldn't be any more copies.  Willie warns her never to speak about this to a living should and as long as she continues coming to the club they are going to be getting it on together.

AS for Sammie, yes, Nata should keep her daughter under lock and key to keep her from marrying Omar.  (Lord knows she's tried everything else!)  Nata suggests just letting the kids have what they want.  It's what a loving mother should do, she adds.  "--Threats won't get you anywhere in this."  Sam insists that Nata better use that lock and key because the Hadads are not a charitable institution!

Once inside the house, Nata tells Regi and Andi what the conversation was all about.  "--She's accusing me of planning this all so that Andi would marry Omar to resolve our economic problems.  So, Andrea, I hope that with this you now understand that you are not and will never ever be welcome in that family."  This doesn't change a thing for Andi.  She says she's marrying Omi, not the family.

Tavo and Claudio are still in the bar that evening and still discussing Connie's situation.  Claudio's fine with it if it means that he can now get a divorce and not worry about losing his business or being kicked out onto the street.

Sammie is now complaining to Connie about the Omi and Andi marital situation and her suspicions about Nata. Connie is less than complimentary about her sister.  Nope, not going to ever use her as a character witness.

Omi comes back to the barrio to brag about his discussion with his dad and how he gave up everything to be with Andi, his one true love.  --"Everything?"  Yup!  He came there with nothing but the shirt on his back, literally.  Ruh-roh!!

Finally, Connie cannot contain herself any longer.  She admits to Fer that she's made a mistake having an affair with William the gym trainer.  Fer's is absolutely stunned.

Jardinera: Howdy from the Alamo City. I wonder if Fer will keep her mouth shut regarding Connie's escapade with the gym trainer ?

Jardinera, thank you for a great recap of this episode with both highs and lows.

Lots and lots of doublecrossing tonight. Claudio accepted a big fat check from stingy Constanza back when he noted that William returned her earrings, both of them. There was no explicit deal made between her and Claudio, but still. And here he is, telling all to Tavo. And doesn't Tavo look all upset?
No, I suppose not.

And now "poor" Adrián got shafted. Well, he is poor now. Why should he be so shocked that someone would do to him what he had done to someone else, especially as that someone else was his wife of 20 years plus his two daughters?

Verónica left him a bouquet of yellow roses, her evil trademark. Kind of a silly thing, but it is a "thing" for her. Will we see more such bouquets?

Didn't Andrea look thrilled when Omar said he gave his father back everything? No, I didn't think so either. Where does he plan to sleep tonight? And he better find an old bicycle somewhere, he won't much be able to pay for cab rides, or anything else, in the future.

Sammie was not nice in this episode, a real middle-aged Mean Girl, and not in a fun way. Well, it's nothing new for her, early on she lied to Natalia about trying to get her husband to leave her in her house after Adrián absconded with the funds. But she's fun enough that I hope there will be some redemption for her later.

Andy

Jardinera, thank you. This was excellent. Yes, there is a “Ramírez style” emerging as you noted! : )

Steve, hmmm . . . I wonder, too, what Fernanda will do with the new info.

Andy, very true about Omi getting an old bike. He is a real knucklehead.

Lotsa’ luck to Adrián with him throwing his cellphone into the ocean. Guess that leaves him with his luggage and clothes.

Claudio finally did something useful telling Tavo about Connie.

Thanks, Jardinera, you fill in a lot of my missing pieces, or conversations!

I don’t think Andrea is quite as interested in Omar now. And where will he sleep? Chente has no spare beds.

Couldn’t feel too bad for Adrian. I actually enjoyed him getting the yellow flowers. I’m sure there’ll be other victims. I hope they’re all as deserving as Adrian.

Good to see Natalia stand up to Olga. She may be the one that brings Olga down eventually.

Since Fernanda didn’t tell on Chente she might keep quiet about William and Connie. I guess it depends on who her friendship is with. She seemed closer to Natalia the other night. But I’m glad Claudio clued Tavo in. He’s finally done something useful!

Jardinera - delightful as always!

Loved the title and "Elias warns him if he leaves now he doesn't come back. (Never ever? Never ever!)⦁" was my favorite of all.

Sammie is a mean Lily Munster. 'nuff said :)

Andrea hasn't annoyed me as much as she has others but her mewling to father that "--You get a view of the ocean and I get to see clotheslines!! I am in a room a princess would NEVER stay in!" seemed so churlish and selfish, she truly needs a wake up call to what life's harsh realities are for some. She is as rich as royalty with all the love and affection her family has for her, and that is all that counts.

Omar finally grows up and grows a pair. Andrea seems unimpressed as he is now impoverished.

Andy, yes, Adrian is indeed poor. He lost the only wealth that really matters when he left his family. With his outsize ego, he never believed he, the cheater would be cheated on. I don't feel anything for Adrian especially as he said he never loved Nat and married her for her money. Not that I completely believe him. As you pointed out Jarifa, he does have his clothes. At least he won't be crawling back home in the emperor's new clothes.

Sendel is famous for his phone throwing but I think this was the first foray into the ocean.

Liz, I agree and think Natalia is a worthy opponent for Olga. But Olga is so dark and evil, it IS going to take an angel to bring her down.

Jardinera, thank you, thank you!

Diana

Diana, ha! Not in “ the emperor’s new clothes.” That was a good one.

Hi all!
Steve: I think Fer will eventually spill the beans on everybody.

Andy: "middle-aged Mean Girl" - LOL, wish I'd thought of that!!
Jarifa: Omi now needs a bed and a bike.

Speaking of rude awakenings! I'd say this on again off again wedding is definitely off. Not very romantic wondering where your next meal will come from or whether you can afford a tee shirt at the Mexican version of the Salvation Army.

Liz: As for Claudio, he was paid hush money by Connie to keep his mouth shut and here he is opening up to Tavo. I thought it was low down, but then the man has no honor or self-respect. On the other hand, the story probably needed this to get out so it could progress. I was surprised that Nata actually spoke back to Vulga. She was quite on target and got her to skip a beat if not to totally shut up. That woman never stops running her mouth off.

Diana: the idea of a Spanish current-day version of Lily Munster had me giggling!

Thanks again, peeps! I always enjoy reading your comments and take on things!

Jardinera, thank you for serving up all the bitter with the better....wait ...was there any better in this episode?

I cannot stand Samia imperiously snappng her fingers and hurling insults at Nat and Andrea. Andrea is a spoiled , entitled girl...but she is a girl. Samia is a grown woman ....a spoiled, entitled woman bht an adult. And she is definitely a fair weather friend to Nat.

By the way , In most novelas, the leading lady has one loyal, true blue friend who supports her through all the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune that come at her .Nat doesn't have that bff .She does have a loving mother and one kind, supportive daughter.

Adrian is despicable . What goes around comes around, hombre. I hope he doesn't go home to the family he left high and dry. Loser.

Vulgar and Very make a strange duo. How did that happen? Why is Very still harassing Nat ? Hasnt she done enough to her? And she doesn't even want her husband anymore. Very has a low , harsh voice and speaks very fast . Tania, Ver, and Pedro make quite and interesting evil trio of world traveling scoundrels.

Diana, yes, I think that was the first time Sendel threw his phone into the deep, blue sea. Idiot.

Susanlynn— yup. What comes around goes around!

Jardinera, that was great work.

SusanLynn, Tania took Vulga's phone number and gave it to Veronica, telling her that Vulga hates Natalia as much as or more than she does. Note how carefully Veronica deals with Vulga.

I am not yet fully convinced that Andrea has reformed, but she really gave it to Vulga right between the eyes.... and to Adrian someplace lower. However, she is still too immature to marry or make any other adult decisions.

Adrian got what he so richly deserved: Not to be rich anymore. The best thing about this is he can't file charges against Veronica and now has to start from scratch. The yellow roses were a great touch. Can't wait until somebody digs up the soil around Veronica's house because of what I think they will find. She doesn't look like any of the portraits but Veronica could be the reincarnation of Erzebet Bathory.
