Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #78
Part 1 of 4
The Mean Girls of Midyat (thank you dondi356) face off in the Aslanbey courtyard. I will get my child to forgive me, says Azize. I will certainly be able to be a mother. What about you Fusun? Do you think your daughter will come to you with open arms? Oh please, Azize, says Fusun. Do you think anyone is going to forgive you for all the evil you have done? What son would want a mother like you? I heard Hazar with my own ears. He will never accept you.
At least I am not a murdered, say Azize. And you? We both know what happened Fusun. (What? What happened?) What will happen when your daughter finds out your abandoned her for the sake of power, money and a name? Your two-day old daughter. Do you think she will hug you and call you mother? Certainly not after I tell her everything.
Get out of here, growls Fusun, but be prepared to pay the price. I have already paid the price, says Azize, you are the one who hasn’t. Azize leaves Fusun literally swing her cane. Gonul demands to know from Fusun what is going on. Let me explain, says Fusun in a very condescending manner. I have a daughter and she has a living son. That living son is your uncle, Hazar. So now you are related to the Sadoglu. (So Gonul and Azat are technically cousins?) Gonul is stunned.
Firat and Esma have been watching the drama unfold. Firat tells Esma, because of your lies, see what has happened to us? You have destroyed our lives. He leaves in a Miran like huff. Gonul sits down looking sick and Esma looks sad.
Outside the konak, Firat calls Miran who does not answer, so he tries Reyyan. She cries, telling him the Miran left her because she knew the who situation and did not tell him. Firat is concerned for her and the baby, telling her not to cry, he will find Miran (please don’t, we could all use a break). Reyyan continues to cry and hold on to her belly as if in pain.
Miran has followed Azize to Casa Esma. Confronting her, he says, I am smart enough to know I shouldn’t even ask for a reason. I don’t care about anything that was said in the courtyard. I don’t care how you feel, or that you want forgiveness. For me and my Father, you don’t exist. Don’t you have any mercy for me? ask Azize. Miran scoffs, Mercy? Like you know what that means. Have you ever shown mercy or compassion to anyone? You used the compassion Reyyan shows to push your agenda. It doesn’t matter what Reyyan does, she cannot change the past and all the bad things you have done. You used Reyyan’s weak spot, me and her father to gain an advantage. She even hid things from me because of you.
Azize tries to defend Reyyan but Miran isn’t listening to anyone but himself. I came here to tell you to stay away from Reyyan and my family. Miran drives off as Mahmut hangs on to Azize who keeps saying she is Ayse.
Hazar is still parked alone on a hill in his pity car, crying. Zehra calls him and tries to console him. He still boo hoos that he has a mother. (This was cut from the Telemundo version)
Reyyan is standing on the balcony overlooking Midyat. She gets excited when she sees Miran drive up. Miran sits in the car thinking about what Reyyan said to him earlier. Mr. Selfish says to himself, you shouldn’t have done it Reyyan. Mr. Pitiful drives off as Reyyan exits the konak to a plume of dust left behind by the Miran pity car.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #78
Part 2 of 4
Miran arrives at the cabin, formally known as the Love Shack. Mahfuz did a nice job cleaning up and remaking the bed after the ICU care of Azize the night before. (Or perhaps it was the Telenovela housekeeping service). Reyyan enters her bedroom at the Hopeless konak. We see the side by side of each getting into bed and looking at the empty pillow next to them as the Turkish song we normally hear now has lyrics. (it was the theme song on Telemundo).
You promised to never leave me again, says Reyyan. You hurt me too much to keep my word, says Miran. What did I do to you? says Reyyan, crying. All I did was try to protect you and my father. You did this for Azize, says Miran. Both turn their backs on their phantom bed partner. Reyyan seems to have a pang of pain and now Miran is outside on the cabin porch.
He takes out his phone and almost calls her but then his hardheadedness takes over and he doesn’t. A car drives up, Reyyan? he asks hopefully. Nope, just faithful Firat. He asks Miran if he is okay? As okay as one can be when they find out Azize is their grandmother says Miran. His phone rings, it is poor Reyyan calling. He ignores the call (okay, now he is really ticking me off). Firat tells him, why aren’t you with your wife and your child Miran?
Because, justifies Miran, the person you love the most, hurts you the most. Reyyan knew everything and didn’t tell me. (Uh-oh Firat) Miran, this is Reyyan, the woman who loves you, the woman you love. Isn’t it enough to know that whatever she did was for you? To protect you? That is exactly what she said, responds Miran, that she “had to.” But she didn’t Firat, she should have told me. Wouldn’t you have told me this information if you knew? Firat looks away.
Did you know? demands Miran. Firat? I knew, says Firat (here comes Mr. Meltdown). Great, so you hide this from the person you call brother? Yes, brother, I did. When did we stop being able to talk? First the trucker, now this. I don’t care what Azize is going through. I can’t stand how my best friend makes me feel, screams Miran.
What did you want me to do Miran? I know you! You have a wife and child. What would you have done to the trucker or to Fusun? If I told you Azize was your real grandmother, how would that affect you! Maybe I was wrong not to tell you and I am sorry, says Firat. He leaves Miran pitching a hissy fit, as his phone rings again and he smashes it to the ground. (Recapper takes her tequila off the Miran table and hopes there is room for her at the Patio table).
A new, hopefully better day has arrived as morning prayers are echoed through Midyat. Unfortunately, the day is bleak as Reyyan wakes up in pain and to blood stains on her bedsheets. She yells for help. Dilsah is first to the bedside and calls for Azra. We must get you to the hospital. Dilsah and Azar help Reyyan down the stairs, while back at the cabin Miran wakes up calling for Reyyan (now you care?). He looks for his phone and seeing it smashed, he flings it down again in anger and heads out.
By the grace of God, Firat and Zeynep arrive at the Hopeless casa just in time. Azra tells him Reyyan is bleeding and Reyyan pleads for Umut. Firat picks her up and carries Reyyan to his car. Azra tells Dilsah to stay back in case Miran comes back.
Next door at the Sad konak, Hazar arrives to a find Cihan pacing and Nasuh just standing. At least Zehra offers coffee. Cihan confesses that he knew about Azize and says this is why he has been so angry lately.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #78
Part 3 of 4
Nasuh tries to pipe in, but both sons tell him to be quiet and just let them talk. Zehra brings coffee just for the brothers (ha-ha) as nosy Handan joins Zehra in the kitchen. Cihan says that his mother, their mother, loved Hazar. I didn’t want to tell you because I knew you would be sad and I didn’t want you to be sad and angry like me. (Total eye roll with that comment). Turns out our father was in love with this woman and you are the product of that love, says Cihan. Hazar looks sick. Our father never loved my mother. He loved Ayse and you.
Zehra tries to get Cihan to stop but Cihan tells her this isn’t about jealousy; this is about the facts. Nasuh has said nothing. I have always been the incompetent one, jealous of his brother, the angry son. You were always the favored one. Cihan at least says this with a smile. Finally, Nasuh tells Cihan to be quiet and be considerate of his brother’s condition.
Is his current state of mind my fault? No, father it is yours. You should have told us that Azize was mother to my brother. Stop saying that! says Hazar. Don’t say that again! He drags himself out of the konak and tells Zehra he cannot stay there.
Azize/Ayse stands on a cliff and hopes that if she falls to her death God will smile on her and give her a miracle. Mahmut tell her that God sees her heart and knows she is trying. Azize says, first we have to stop Fusun. She has made the connection that Azra is her daughter. She calls Nasuh to ask how Hazar is doing and that she will wait for her son.
Fusan sits in the courtyard drinking coffee. Her head minion comes in and tells her he found all the photos she asked for. He shows her a USB. She tells him to set thing up.
Our non-galan, galan arrives at the Hopeless casa calling for Reyyan. He sees blood stains on the stairs. Dilsah comes to tell him that Reyyan is at the hospital with Azra. Zehra enters and hears this and rightfully comes unglued, accusing Dilsah of being responsible but then turns her wrath on Miran. What kind of man are you? What kind of man leaves his pregnant wife alone Miran? (A self-center man-child that’s who). Didn’t you promise me you would take care of my daughter? Is this your idea of love?
I love her very much Ms. Zehra, boo hoos Miran. Zehra continues to berate him and his lack of care for Reyyan. He begs her to stop, because he has had enough. I won’t stop, screams Zehra. She continues to rant and then collapses. Miran leaves her with Dilsah and Ayise “promising” to bring Reyyan and her grandchild back safe and sound.
At the hospital, Azar is conducting an ultrasound as Reyyan keeps asking if the baby is okay. Azar tells her to give her a minute and looks concerned at the baby on the screen.
In her bedroom, Fusun is looking at slide show of pictures of a young girl that is clearly Azra. Her minion comes in and tells her there is something important she must know. Not now, she growls, nothing is more important than this. He says it is about Harun. Cihan was definitely involved. But the killer is…Yaren, Fusun completes his sentence. What shall I do? You know what to do, says Fusun as the minion exits her room and she watches the slide show.
Firat and Zeynep are standing outside of the hospital as Firat is trying to reach Miran, to no avail. Firat is furious. How can I calm down? he tells Zeynep as she tries to do just that. Did you not see how Reyyan was and Miran is nowhere to be found! What if something happens to the baby? Zeynep finally gets him to sit down and Firat takes a couple of deep breaths.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #78
Part 4 of 4
Miran zooms into the parking lot and seeing Firat, he demands to know how Reyyan and the baby are. Now you want to know? asks Firat. Tell me! The big baby demands. Calmly, Firat asks Zeynep to give them a minute and as she walks away, Firat cold cocks Miran with a right hook and tells him to go and ask the doctor how Reyyan and his baby are doing. The Patio stands and Cheers!
In the exam room, Azra finally tells Reyyan that the baby is good, he is strong like his mother and Rey gets a good look at Umut in the womb. The husband of the year arrives, Reyyan are you ok? He begins to cry, seeing the baby on the ultrasound. Coldly, Reyyan tells him Umut is fine. Azra says, Reyyan is fine too. (Then why was she bleeding?) Azra leaves the room to wash her hands and to let Reyyan get cleaned up too. Miran kneels by the bed and asks Reyyan if she is okay? Reyyan doesn’t look at him or say anything. He tries to help her put on a sweater and she snatches it out of his hand saying, I don’t want to go through the same experience over and over. He babbles, I am sorry and she walks out of the room without another word. He continues to babble; I am sorry to both of you.
A scary looking Yaren sits with Handan in a bedroom. Handan tries to get Yaren to interact by sharing the gossip about Azize being Hazar’s real mother. She isn’t interested and continues to be very detached as Handan prays for her daughter’s mental health. A knock on the door is a guard delivering a bright red package for Yaren. Handan encourages her to open it up. She does, it is a noose.
Gonul calls Azat but he does not respond and she is concerned. She texts him asking if he is okay? When he doesn’t not respond immediately, she grabs a jacket and heads out.
Reyyan, Azra and the Moron (thank you Halimacandy) arrive back at Hopeless konak. Zehra tries to hustle Rey to her room but wants to talk to Miran. To her credit she lets him have it for abandoning her and Umut. What will it take for him to realize that this behavior isn’t cutting it for her or the baby. All the big baby can say is he is sorry. Like grannie, like grandson.
Cihan joins Yaren and Handan in the bedroom. He doesn’t seem as concerned about the noose as they are. Yaren asks him who could have sent it and what does it mean? (Three guesses Yaren and the first two don’t count). Cihan tells her not to worry, they have a lot of enemies (what?). But it was addressed to me, she responds. Go to your room and rest is Cihan’s response. Handan gets dizzy and as Cihan helps her, Yaren says, under her breath, I am sorry, I didn’t want it to be like this. She takes the noose and leaves the room. (Could we be so lucky?).
Handan asks Cihan, do you think it is Fusun? Of course it is Fusun, he responds. Azat overhears their conversation as Cihan invites him in and tells him to close the door. Fusun has figured out it was Yaren who killed Harun. How do you know that? Asks Azat. Because she sent Yaren that noose, pointing to the now empty box. What noose?
All heck breaks loose as they realize that Yaren now has that very noose tied around her neck as she stands on a chair, kicking the chair away, as the episode ends.
Thanks VERY much, VVS, for another wonderful recap, complete with lots of on-target snark. I especially liked your comment when Firat assures Reyyan he will find Miran: "(please don’t, we could all use a break)." Yes, I too am sick sick sick of "Mr. Selfish" and "Mr. Pitiful." And you're right, I joined the rest of Viewerville in standing up and cheering when Firat cold cocked Miran.
I was puzzled when Azize says to Fusun, "At least I'm not a murderer." She implies that Fusun is a murderer, and she says to Fusun, "We both know what happened." Hmmm...She and Fusun may be the only ones who know. I certainly have no idea.
Zehra again got on my nerves, screaming at Dilsah and blaming her for everything. I'm glad she finally turned her rage on someone who deserved it, Mr. Selfish/Pitiful. I can't remember any galan I've disliked as much as I dislike Miran. Every now and then, though, I wonder whether my dislike would be as intense if he got rid of those silly bangs.
I was a little surprised that Azra was permitted to use the hospital's sonogram equipment. Doesn't she need to be on the hospital staff, or at least have privileges there? And although it has been determined that Umut is apparently alive and well, shouldn't Reyyan remain while doctors try to determine the cause of her bleeding?
So will the fact that Gonul and Azat now turn out to be cousins be an obstacle to their inevitable future plans to fall in love and get married?
It looks as if I'm going to have to recap what I assume will be a last-minute rescue of Yaren Tuesday night. Sigh.
Thank you for the comments and questions Juanita. I am officially off the hope that Miran could really be a true galan. His treatment of Reyyan crossed my line. I tried to support him because of his brainwashing by Azzie but his misplaced selfish AngryBangs reactions got on my last nerve. He was a much better galan the day he and Reyyan married and he changed his hairstyle for a while.
I was very curios about the “I am not a murdered” comment as well. I guess Fusun really is?
Azra just being able to go into the hospital and use equipment was interesting. I also hoped someone would actually try and determine the pain and cause of bleeding. None of that is good.
I am sure you will get to rescue Yaren, Juanita. Sigh.
VVS, thank you for another terrific recap . Angry bangs ....I just cant...
I have to get going , but I have to tell you all who I saw in another dizi this weekend . Jardinera suggested I watch " Kurulus Osman" starring the galan from " Amor Eterno" Burak Ozcivit. It's about Osman , a historical Turkish leader. Well, I found the first episode , and who should appear but Fusun dressed in layers of heavy clothes and an elaborate headdress looking fierce as she lanced a boil from her husband's back (ew) . He seemed to be a head honcho of the group. Ha.
Terrific recap VVS! Thank you for both your keen comments and funny snark! Miran, Miran, Miran! There are no words to sufficiently describe the deep hole ASS that he is! He appears to have learned nothing, and his brain must be made of silly putty! Reyyan could do so much better, but we all know that she will forgive him. I wish that she would just disappear for a week and let him wallow in the prospect that he has lost her! Azize has messed him up so bad that he’s beyond repair, and has now made the happy Umut konak, ( or whatever they’re calling it) as sad as the house next door, and the konak across the way. Emotional wrecks the whole lot of them!
Then there’s Cihan! What vajayjay he is! Any opportunity he gets to say what an unloved, second class piece of poo that he is in his father’s eyes, he takes it! Please SHUT UP! I just want to flush him down a septic tank! And Handan too, giving Nasuh the side eye as they walk off self righteously! Yeah, both Nasuh and Azize made MAJOR mistakes, but Nasuh believed that Ayse was dead until a minute ago. And would you tell Hazar, without some buttering up, that Azize was his mother!?!?!?! Unless you wanted to cause him pain? Look at Hazar now, a shell of a man cause his mom’s a psychopath! A reformed psychopath maybe, but still a psychopath. Azize is running around trying to right wrongs when she hasn’t taken the first step in addressing all that’s inside of her. She shoulda been on the couch as soon as she found out that Hazar was her son! The ass whoopings and surgeries alone that she had to receive at the hands of her husband were enough to run —— not walk—-to a mental health professional! Sheesh!
Go Firat!
I’m not sure, but I don’t think that Hazar being her uncle makes Cihan and his children related to Gonul does it? Nasuh is her great uncle, being Hazar’s father, but does that make Cihan anymore than her uncles brother? Her and Miran are first cousin’s and so are Miran and Azat, but does that make her any relation Azat? Hmmm….. I have to investigate further cause it’s getting confusing, lol…….
Bye Yaren! And I don’t mean death! Her mind has left the building!
Thanks again VVS!.
VVS……..OMG….JUST NUKE THE JOINT……RECAP ..HEAVEN….
AZIZE. Is a murderer..she has slaughtered families….that’s some BullCrap…..!PORFAVOR!
Welcome to the Patio!
Zehranni …Busted his chops ..again….Loved it..how Reyyan has manage to run, walk 10 miles chase after Moron..and avoid eclampsia! Is beyond me..
First ..you da man!Lovely bust in the chops…ohh…COLD COCK HE AGAIN…PLEASE!
Halimacandy on the Job tip…the Quickness!
Carmella, I think you're right about Cihan (and thus Azat) not being related to Gonul by blood. My confused brain was even more confused than usual. :-(
Muriel and JD meet at Sarita’s house. They chat briefly, but he has to go, nothing comes of it except from a few glances that are enough to make Sarita realize what is going on (her funny faces is the best part of this scene).
Gabriela and Demetrio are back at her place, complaining about her rude, ungrateful family. To think that he only wanted to help and now he’s so worried about poor Nino, too. Gabriela has a sudden suspicion: what if Nino is involved with the criminals who attacked the ranch? Demetrio pretends to be shocked, but she must be right. If only he could know to what hospital they took Nino, he’d like nothing more than help. Gabriela is in awe of such generosity and chivalry, his soul is filled with light. The scene would be awful except the actors look like they are about to break character and burst out laughing.
At the bar, Rosario is doing her show while Muriel and Gunther talk about Andres and the attack. Gunther is surprised, since when is Muriel so worried about other people, doesn’t she miss her life of luxury? No, she says, all the money in the world can’t replace human warmth. Gunther wonders who she’s talking about and she confirms it’s the Reyes family, JD included. Gunther thinks power is more important, but Muriel disagrees! She finally understands her mother’s choice to leave everything behind and live her life how she wishes.
Later Rosario tells Muriel that she was very worried about Andres, too, because she cares about him, but she’s upset with Gunther for having taken Muriel to the ranch. Muriel says she cares about Andres a lot, too.
Oscar and Jimena are in bed, unable to sleep. They are worried about what happened at Sarita’s ranch. Oscar is a little upset they didn’t get a call to help, but Jimena thinks there is little they could have done at the time since they were in San Marcos. Demetrio did help, maybe he’s not so bad after all, she thinks.
Speaking of said generous soul, he’s in a field somewhere, with a bunch of goons, beating on a guy and talking with his second in command about Nino – the kid has to die! As he drives off, he remembers the last talk he had with Gaby at the university – what’s his deal with this Gaby obsession? He’s obviously after old Gabriela’s money, but his interest for young Gabriela is creepier than Gunther lurking in the middle of the night dressed for Halloween. There is a woman walking alone in the street and he tries to pick her up, but then he sees her face and she doesn’t qualify as pretty enough, so he drives off – poor girl doesn’t know how lucky she is.
The next day the twins wake up to realize they are alone in the house, everyone has gone to tia Sara’s place. They’re upset because nobody takes them seriously, they would have liked to help, but they are never involved in serious family talks (yeah, they are more into the criminal activities that provoke those talks). Erick says he’s mostly worried about Gaby and they decide to go see her.
Gaby is back in the barn where she found Nino, remembering the bad shape she found him in. She looks desperate and Erick and Leon find her crying. They are actually very nice to her, try to comfort her and offer their support. I keep waiting for them to say something stupid, but they act pretty decent. When they ask Gaby why she cares so much about Nino, she explains that they are very good friends, and also Nino is special, someone who is simple, genuine. They wonder about his family, but Gaby doesn’t know them, she has no clue where Nino lives. She will go see him at the hospital the next day, he’s not doing great.
Romina has a shady talk with Duvan. She tells him that his father’s wife, Jimena, is the reason they can’t be with Oscar; she’s bad and needs to be punished, but first Duvan has to become her friend. The boy wonders how they will punish her and Romina shows him a tiny bottle containing something (poison?).
Juan, Norma, Oscar, Jimena, Sarita and JD meet in the fields, not too far from Romina’s house (the Madrina can see them from afar). They have a family meeting about the attackers and the dangers surrounding them. This has to come from San Marcos, they agree, and the mayor’s office won’t do anything to help. They decide to increase their security and talk to the police.
Jimena is checking out Romina’s house, too and Norma notices. She is very curious about that little boy.
Romina finds Madrina, who is restless. She tells her to be careful not to be seen by Jimena. And she will keep pretending she is Duvan’s mother. Romina tells her she has a plan with the boy and she will put it into motion soon; the madrina is worried Romina will do more harm than good, but there is no stopping her.
Gabriela has come to see Sarita and Gaby in order to reproach them the bad treatment Demetrio had after having done so much to help them. He should have been asked to participate at their meeting. Sara doesn’t see why, he’s not family, Gabriela screeches that his miraculous intervention saved their lives, if not for him they’d be all dead by now. They need to apologize immediately. Gaby says she will never be Demetrio’s friend, Gabriela accuses Nino of being a thief and almost slaps Gaby, but Sarita intervenes saying that she won’t allow her mother to treat her daughter the way she treated her and her sisters (yeah, for those not aware, Dona Gabriela used to slap her daughters whenever they didn’t obey her – which was a lot). Gabriela tells Sarita that it’s obvious to her she hasn’t learned a thing! The nerve of this woman!
Andres has come to see Rosario in her dressing room. She’s happy he’s doing OK, he asks about Muriel and she says she had a doctor’s check-up and Gunther took her. Later as Andres is rehearsing JD stops by – he had business in town at the mayor’s office and now he was wondering about Muriel. Andres tells him she’s at the hospital and Rosario shows up before JD can avoid her. She asks him to her dressing room. She wasn’t waiting for him so soon but she’s happy to see him. She pours two glasses of wine, JD reluctantly takes a sip and they start making out. He doesn’t want to keep drinking, he needs to drive home – she suggests he can spend the night. He pushes her away, mentions Muriel being home (I think), and says he’s not a free man. Maybe it’s time they had that talk, he adds.
Rosario says she wants to spend the rest of her life with him, this is not a whim for her. JD doesn’t look happy, he says he doesn’t even remember their night together (huh? we did see him flashback several times, right?). Rosario doesn’t believe him, so then he says something very hurtful – that what happened between them was only physical, no emotions were involved, at least not for him. He doesn’t know if she’s obsessed with him or this is just a whimsy for her, but it has to stop. Rosario asks if he’s in love with another woman and he quickly says no. Rosario starts kissing him again (she’s all over him the entire time they’re talking), and Andres walks in and sees them. JD takes advantage of the situation to go away running, and Andres doesn’t stick around for explanations, either.
JD almost runs into a coming car, it’s Gunther, driving Muriel back from her check-up. Muriel gets out of the car, she and JD make googly eyes at one another, and he says he came to see Andres. Gunther scolds JD for almost jumping in front of the car and takes Muriel away.
After rehearsal is over, Rosario wants to talk to Andres about what he saw. He tries to be discreet, says it’s none of his business, but Rosario tells him that what is going on between JD and herself is serious, they want to be together forever. Andres is OK with it, but Rosario insists that she doesn’t want him to think badly of her. Andres reassures her, he’s fine with the whole thing.
JD is in his bed, thinking about how Rosario asked him if he’s in love with someone else. Then he flashes back to Muriel and looks confused… or did he just have a revelation?
Thank you Adriana for your short and well detailed recap! Uhhhh, that would be “revelation” from where I’m sitting, lol. He may not realize that it’s “love” at this point, but it’s definitely something special. Something he doesn’t feel for Rosario, something that lightens his heart and brings a smile to his face as opposed to the heaviness and angstful look he gets when he’s with Rosario. He told her it’s just physical, and apparently he knows the difference since he’s never been in love. Rosario is relentless and makes it hard for him to catch his breath or even breathe. JD needs to learn how to keep spatial distance between them when they’re in close quarters cause Rosario obviously doesn’t know that no means no. It’s like date rape when she’s around him. Plus her fantasizing that they want to be together forever!!! Like WHAT! How did she come to that conclusion from one night???? And I think that Andres will now try to protect Muriel from JD, cause he knows that Muriel likes JD and believes that what Rosario said is true. Sad state of affairs……
Then Gabriela raising her hand to hit Gaby! Sarita should’ve broke it! I would’ve if it were my daughter! Sorry Mom…… especially when my daughter feels threatened and disgusted by the man! I can’t believe that Jimena is also giving Demetrio the benefit of the doubt…… And how BIG is San Marcos anyway?!?!? Like Demetrio, exactly how many hospitals can there be in that one horse town? One maybe????? Asking Gabriela to find out which hospital Nino is in made me wonder……..
I can see why everyone leaves the twins out….. I would too……where trouble goes, more trouble follows, and you can best believe that those two “helping” Gaby out, will cause more trouble——-probably a mountains full!
Romina’s another mother of the year——- a real “mother” alright! Her and Gabriela———AWFUL!
Thanks again Adriana!
Adriana, thank you! Fantastic job! I love the way you weave your own response so seamlessly in with the happenings.
I agree Sara's response was the best part of the JD/Muriel scene. She tried to pretend she noticed nothing and failed miserably. I also think it's cute how nervous JD gets everything someone 'catches' him! Lol he looks like a little boy with his first crush instead of a grown man who has surely had plenty of female attention. But he did kiss Muriel goodbye (on the cheek) both times he saw her, so it looks like he's over the standoffish phase.
Andrés also noticed the connection between JD and Muriel because when JD showed up at the bar Andres asked if he was there to see him or Muriel and it was clear from JD's response he came hoping to see Muriel, then Andrés finds him with Rosario so you gotta wonder what Andrés was thinking, though he was very discreet.
I kind of believe JD about not remembering because even though we've seen him have little pieces of memory it doesn't seem like he has a clear memory of it. I have had the unfortunate experience of drinking too much a time or two when I was younger and blacking out and although I would have referred to it as remembering nothing, you do have like little flashes of memory you just don't remember it coherently. That could be his experience. Still it was nice to hear him tell Rosario he didn't have feelings for her although I don't think she heard it based on the happily ever after story she gave Andres.
Muriel is starting to prefer mamas life outlook, interesting...hehe
Where is this insecurity in Pancha coming from? She was always very secure and 20 more years of practice should have only helped!
'his interest for young Gabriela is creepier than Gunther lurking in the middle of the night dressed for Halloween.' LMAO so true! And so funny!
The way Gabriel treats her namesake is horrible and Romina using that poor little boy as an unwitting accomplice is detestable!! She better not make him poison Jimena!!! I can't think of a word strong enough to say what I think about her!!!!
And it was very interesting that JD said he wasn't a free man... what did he mean by that? Especially if he is still thinking at this point he's never been in love. Maybe he just meant he wasn't the free loving, causal sex type?
Such a frustrating episode that was somewhat alleviated by reading a fantastic recap. Thanks so much VVS. I got a kick out of your taking your tequila off the Miran table and hoping there was room at the patio table with the rest of us!
Why doesn't Nasuh (or anyone) ever speak up and say that he thought Ayse was dead. Cihan's monologue drove me nuts. Why didn't Fusun send THREE nooses. Cihan, Handan, and Yaren would be a lovely sight hanging from that balcony. Sadly, I agree with the rest of you that they'll arrive before Yaren chokes to death, something she might have done before; i.e., choked to death on her own bile.
What the hell? How did Fusun's flunky find a whole series of childhood photos of Azra and put them on a flash drive within hours? By the way, we were pretty hard on Mahmoud before but I infinitely prefer him to the bearded jerk Fusun has.
Show of hands. Anyone believe Reyyan would lose Umit? The whole thing was one of those plot devices writers in both TNS and dizis use to supposedly scare us. It certainly did scare Angry Bangs. ITA on full enjoyment of the sock in the jaw by Firat. I don't have much faith in Reyyan's being able to give him the cold shoulder for as long as he deserves.
Once again, terrific recap, VVS. I loved all your asides as well.
Outstanding recap, VVS, a great read. Loved the snark. Thank you. There’s always room at the table for you. Next bottle is on me.
So there’s still more we don’t know about Fusun? She really does growl, if you listen to her in Turkish!
Miran was awful in this ep. Firat cares more about Rey and Umut. I let out a cheer when he punched “Our non-galan, galan, “Mr. Selfish”.
Turkish song in the ep: Kirgin Kalpler/Broken Hearts

Yes… where did that guy get all those Azra pics?
I guess I can’t blame Zehra for going after Dilsah but I loved her giving it to the “…self-center man-child…”.
LOL Juanita, “I wonder whether my dislike would be as intense if he got rid of those silly bangs.”
Really enjoyed your analysis, carmella.
Like your idea of three nooses, novelera.
I also wonder how Rey and Umut can be fine.
I’m sure Yaren will be saved. Too bad.
Hercai2: #79 - p 1 of 3
Well, as I think all Viewerville expected, Yaren doesn't succeed in killing herself. Her family rush into her room just as she has knocked over the chair and is hanging. Azat and Cihan lift her so that she is no longer being strangled, and then they remove the noose and lower her to the floor. Oh well...
The scene shifts to Reyyan, who is very unhappy with Miran YET AGAIN. "You abandoned me again, Miran." She tells him that she helped Azize because she was in need. She insists, "I never did anything against you. I did it for you! Azize regrets what she has done and wants to change, just as you did. Is it my fault that I chose to give her the chance I gave you?" Miran says it's not Reyyan's fault, and that he wants to be here for her. Reyyan asks, "Then why did you leave? You weren't with me when I was suffering, you weren't with me when I woke up bleeding this morning." She tells him to leave. He pleads with her to hear him out, but she keeps telling him to leave. She goes into her room and closes the door. We get once again the same old scene of Reyyan and Miran slumping down on opposite sides of the door, crying. [I was moved by the door scene the first time it was used. I still found it effective the second time. But ¡Ya basta!]
Zehra calls Hazar at work. She asks whether he'll be home soon. He tells her he still has work he must do at the factory. We then see his work: a steam shovel picks up a huge pile of refuse, drops it at a different spot, and then, at Hazar's command, pounds and crushes it. Hazar repeats the command to pound and crush it over and over again. As he's doing this, Azize turns up. Hazar wants nothing to do with her. She tells him that she gave birth to him and breastfed him. She also mentions that the day she rescued him from the fire (that she had ordered) was the same day Nasuh learned that she was Ayse and she learned that her son Hazar was alive. He doesn't want to hear any of this. She finally tells him that the truth won't change no matter whether he believes her or not.
Back at the SAD konak, a miserable Yaren tells her family, "I see Harun everywhere. I'm suffering all the time. Send me somewhere else. If I stay here, I'll try again to kill myself." I'd opt for her to stay, but Cihan decides Yaren is right. "Let's move to Istanbul. We'll leave tonight." Handan looks astonished. Cihan asks, "What can we do, Handan, let our daughter die?" [All in favor....]
Azat receives a text from Gonul. She wants to see him and tells him where she is waiting for him. He goes there. She tells him that she has called and sent texts but received no answer, so she was worried about him. "Why?" asks can-he-really-be-that-clueless Azat. He then tells her not to worry about him. In fact, he continues, "don't call me again. It will be better for both of us." A very disappointed Gonul replies, "If that's what you want. Goodbye, Azat." She walks away. Azat looks miserable.
Miran, who was nearby, calls to Azat. Miran tells him that they haven't talked in detail. Azat replies that there's nothing to talk about. Miran tells him, "I was wrong, your father didn't kill the truck driver." "Was that the only thing you were wrong about?" asks Azat. "If you were wrong, apologize to my father." But Miran still has doubts about Cihan. "Why was he there?" he asks Azat. "Why did he run off?" Azat proceeds to set Miran straight. "My father neutralized the man who fired at you. He protected you and my uncle. He was there because he was afraid something would happen to my uncle. Now do you understand?"
Hercai2: #79 - p 2 of 3
Miran still isn't willing to admit how wrong he was. He asks Azat, "What if it had been you, what would you have done? He abducted me at gun point. I wasn't expecting that." Azat replies, "You humiliated him in front of his son. He didn't deserve that, nor having a gun pointed at his head. But he was mature and sensible. Instead of beating you for your mistake, he allowed you to learn the truth for yourself. Stay away from my father. If you bother him again, you'll have to deal with me."
Luftu knocks at Reyyan's door. He tells her there's a package for her. From a jewelry store. Reyyan takes the box and, after Luftu has gone, she opens it. It contains a watch. Reyyan has a flashback to Miran telling her, "Time is the most precious jewel. We should value it." She puts the box and the watch away.
Hazar is still at the factory. He's pulling a very heavy load of trash, and then another. He looks exhausted, and I really thought that he would have a heart attack. Instead, he cries (of course). He remembers Azize's words about the truth not changing even if you don't believe it. Suddenly, Cihan appears. They start reminiscing about their boyhood together, and how they were both too scared to tell Nasuh that they had fallen. Cihan remembers that when he fell, he ran to Hazar. "Your shoulder was always there for me, but mine never was for you." Hazar tells him, "I'm glad I have you as my brother." They hug, and Cihan cries. He says, "We're like leaves falling from a tree. We are toys for the wind." "No," replies Hazar, "May God always protect you." Cihan continues praising Hazar. "You've done so much for me but I've never thanked you." Hazar says, "You sound like you're saying goodbye." Cihan says, "This morning, I unleashed my venom on you. You were hurt and you left. I was worried. I came to find you. Was I wrong?" "No," replies Hazar. "You said the truth this morning."
The scene shifts to the SAD kitchen, where Reyyan wants to make a strawberry cake. Luftu and Asiye are there as well. The scene doesn't deserve more words. FF>>
Eventually, Azra and Dilsah enter the kitchen. They are heading off to see Sukran. Azra said they thought of asking Reyyan whether she wanted to join them, but she felt Reyyan probably would prefer to rest. Reyyan agrees. She asks them whether they've seen Miran. Dilsah tells Reyyan that Miran seemed quite upset. Azra assures Reyyan that Miran had something he had to do, but he'd probably be back soon. They leave, and Reyyan does return to her room. There's still no message from Miran. There's a flashback to a happy Reyyan seeing the sea. She thinks it looks like heaven on earth. This was on ReyMir's first Valentine's day. Reyyan cries, remembering.
Meanwhile, Miran is busy putting lots of boxes into the car. He also buys flowers. Apparently he remembers that it's Valentine's Day. But in true Miran fashion, he seems to be buying lots of gifts for Reyyan rather than changing his ways and keeping more of his promises.
Hercai2: #79 - p 3 of 3
Gonul is crying in her room. She decides to call her mother. When she picks up the phone, she sees that it's February 14, Valentine's Day. She doesn't call her mother. Instead, Azat calls Gonul. "I thought we weren't going to talk any more," she says. He tells her where to meet him. She goes there and finds a silent Azat. "Here I am," she says. "Are you going to say anything?" He tells her he came to say goodbye. His family is leaving Midyat. (As he is telling her this, we see a bearded man, probably one of Fusun's goons, listening nearby.) Gonul is stunned. "Why?" she asks. "You asked me to stay." He tells her that's not the same. "Then go!" says a very disappointed Gonul. "Today of all days." Azat asks, "What is today?" "Forget it," says Gonul."Take care. Have a good life."
Gonul starts to walk away. Suddenly Azat calls out, "I have to leave because I'm in love with you!" Now face to face, Gonul asks, "Then why are you leaving? Can't you see how I feel? Can't you see the way I look at you? Are you blind?" Azat admits, "You're all I think aout. But the memory of Elif stands in the way." Gonul replies, If Elif were alive and you truly loved her, I'd be happy for you both. But I know that just as I saw her as a sister, so did you." Azat comments, "There's so much history in our past, between our families: Reyyan, Miran, Elif. Even if we have feelings for each other, we can't be together." "We can, if we want it," replies Gonul. "We'd suffer so much," says Azat. "Let's suffer," says Gonul. "I'm not afraid of suffering. I'm afraid of living without you." Tears run down Azat's face. Gonul starts to walk away. He finally goes after her. They kiss.
Azize is apparently in the house she was in as Ayse. Speaking to herself, she says, "This house has seen many things. Many misfortunes/disgraces (desgracias). How many times have you come here to ask why your son became ashes, and also your sisters. All are underground. Poor Nasuh, whom you wished would burn in hell, had his heart burned in that gire, too. Once again, you're back in the place where you lost your heart. How much longer will I have to put up with this pain?" Nasuh enters. "My Ayse. I can't give you the life we wanted. We couldn't raise our children together. We couldn't enjoy our love. But no matter how cruel winter is, the flowers will bloom again in the spring." He hands her a lovely bouquet of flowers. "I bought these flowers for the woman I love, the mother of my son."
Yaren is packing. The phone rings. Fusun is calling. Yaren lets the phone ring for a while before she answers. "My dear daugher-in-law" says Fusun. Yaren replies, "I am so very sorry. It was an accident, I swear." "Is your conscience bothering you?" asks Fusun. "You can't imagine," replies Yaren. "This is weighing on me, I can't sleep." "Then come," says Fusun. "I'll save you from your torment. I'm waiting for you outside." And on that eerie note, the episode ends.
Really enjoyed the recap Juanita, thank you! I just have a few minutes to comment. "What can we do, Handan, let our daughter die?" [All in favor....] Count me as a big yes! Of course, Yaren is saved.
Miran has a lot of sucking up to do for Reyyan. I hope Umut really is okay.
Azat and Gonul, many predicted this pairing, I am not that thrilled, yet.
I thought Nasuh giving Ayse flowers was sweet.
Thank you carmella, HalimaCandy, novelera and dondi356 for welcoming me back to the patio table and for the terrific comments yesterday. 😊
Thank you Juanita for another quality recap! You give the facts, but also bring up some very good points. Yeah, we knew Yaren wasn’t done for the other side yet, but your “Oh well…..”. says it all! Also, what message does it send to your crazy daughter and obviously distraught son, to run from your problems? Cihan was all bad before, with his guns and henchman, willing to go up against Azize at quicker than you can blink your eye, but he’s going to run from Fusun?!?! Like just admit what Yaren has done, let her do jail time if necessary——-cause it was an accident—— and make sure she gets the mental help that she needs. Fusun can be neutralized! I can think of a few ways myself!
I’m glad Azat and Gonul finally admitted what they feel for one another. I’m also championing Gonul for basically saying to hell with everyone and everything! Let’s SUFFER together! Once Azat finds out who his father really is, he’s going to need some real “love” to soften the blow. Let’s face it, Cihan, Handan and Yaren live on their own planet and aren’t capable of giving Azat anything at this point.
You’re right on point about Miran buying gifts instead of changing his ways or keeping his promises. Because of the severe abuse he’s received at the hands of Azize, he’s an abuser himself. His abuse is more subtle, but it’s taking a toll on Reyyan. He’s an emotional abuser, and the only way that he can assuage his own guilt is by buying gifts and doing OTT gestures. His “love” capacity will always be limited until he, too, finds a couch to hunker down in. Reyyan knows how to love thanks to Hazar and Zehra.
She know how to give thanks to them. She knows how to take other people’s feelings into consideration. She gives from a place of sincerity, where Miran never had it, and really wouldn’t know what to do with it if he did. He’s lived a lie and has no idea how to make his reality the truth. In the meantime, he’s HELLA annoying!!
I’m beginning the thing Azize is a little delusional too. Just because you’re biologically someone’s mom, and you “breastfed” them doesn’t give you a right to their forgiveness. Hazar may not be able to change his genes, but he can sure as hell decide who he wants or doesn’t want to forgive. Rediscover your love with Nasuh for the moment Ayse, and leave Hazar alone…….thank you!
Somebody please slip Fusun a “Mickey!”
Part 1 of 4
It’s early morning and Juan sees the twins plan to leave, asks them why they aren’t working. They say they are going to meet with Gaby in the pueblo, she is planning to see Nino today. Juan is happy they are helping their cousin.
Sarita and Andres are eating and she lets him know Gaby has taken the twins to town to see Nino. Andres doesn’t trust them, he wishes Gaby had come to him. Sarita says he’s never around, he works every night, gets back home very late, sleeps in, and then he goes back to work. The maid tells them JD has come to see Andres. He doesn’t want to see him, but Sarita doesn’t get it, asks him to go see his cousin.
JD has come to explain his situation with Rosario, but Andres keeps insisting he’s not interested, he’s not upset and he’s not judging. The scene is maddening, because it’s obvious that JD needs help, someone’s advice, but Andres is, rather ironically, a bit tone deaf in this situation … He says Rosario told him all about their relationship, but JD denies that anything is going on, she’s not his lover, she’s a big problem to him. Andres doesn’t buy it and JD rightfully points out that Andres should believe in him more than in her. Andres says that either way, he doesn’t want to get involved. It’s obvious that he doesn’t want to have any problems with Rosario, who gave him his first big break, so it’s not that he’s supportive of their relationship, he’s just choosing to turn a blind eye to it.
Rosario is arguing with Gunther, why is he spying on her, asking the maids who visits her. He knows it was JD, says this is a lack of respect for Muriel, she should control herself . Rosario asks him to stop acting like a jealous husband. Gunther insists he’s only taking care of her in behalf of her actual husband.
Nino No Family has a very nice, private hospital room. Gaby and the twins have come to visit. He still looks awful, more than half of his face is beaten up. But at least he’s alive and he thanks Gaby for finding him and saving his life. He’s introduced to the twins, who ask if he thinks he could recognize the people who did this to him. He says no, they were wearing masks. Gaby asks about where he lives again, they want to help out with his family. But he refuses, he doesn’t want her to go to his place, she wouldn’t be safe there. The twins ask him to talk alone, among men and for whatever reason, Gaby agrees. They ask Nino about his home address, too, and Nino eventually caves after the twins promise not to tell Gaby where that is.
Later Gaby does ask them, but they keep Nino’s secret, saying he has his reasons not to tell her. Gaby insists, but they still say no.
Part 2 of 4
During lunch, Norma tells Juan the twins called to say they are in the hospital and then they are going to Sara’s house. JD is quiet, Norma has to go because the abuelo is screaming, so Juan asks JD what’s wrong. He won’t talk, he’s OK.
Sara tells Gaby to let go of trying to find out where Nino lives. It’s more important to help his family. The twins promise to take her another day. Sarita and Gaby go to prepare a bag for the family.
Jimena is in bed, talking with a friend, Javier, a model. She’s preparing a fashion show, he might want to be part of it. Oscar calls, too, apparently Jimena has a cold, and that’s why she stayed home. Oscar tells her he’ll take care of the shop for today, she should rest. Jimena still plans to go out.
Andres is rehearsing and thinking about what Rosario and JD told him and how they contradicted one another. Muriel asks for a break and wonders what’s wrong with Andres. He evades, says he likes her choreography. She can’t wait for people to see her dance, especially JD. Do you think he’ll like it? Andres has no clue about his primo’s “musical” taste. How about Muriel? She thinks he’s muy lindo. Does he have a girlfriend? Andres doesn’t think so…Muriel assumes he must have had a few nice, same age girlfriends. Nice, yes, but the same age… Hmmm… Andres sees Rosario and thinks her mom is very beautiful. Yeah, too bad it didn’t work with dad, Muriel says. She can’t explain how he is, you either love him or hate him.
Duvan falls from his bike and Jimena finds him. She takes him to the house. She tends to his scraped knee and asks his name. He gives his mom’s last name, says he doesn’t have his dad’s name, because he doesn’t live with them. But Jimena knows differently, and she also saw him at the boutique and around the house. Did someone ask him to come? Duvan says he is just curious, asks about her kids. Jimena says there are none. Duvan wants to be friends and he will only come when she’s around. Jimena offers to take him home, he says no, his mom won’t care that he fell, she never does. She tells him to come back whenever he wants, maybe meet her husband. Duvan says he knows him already… and shows her a picture of Oscar. Ha! Jimena buys the whole thing.
Juan is tending to some hay stacks half naked… as one should, reminding us all that he’s the original Alpha Male. Norma comes over, saying sometimes I forget how handsome you are. Then I see you and remember, feels like it’s the first time… Juan says he never forgets she’s the prettiest… the woman he loves more every day.
Part 3 of 4
Sarita is by the river remembering Franco. And we have an actual Franco sighting. It’s a flashback, but it’s still progress.
She is in bed when Franco (with a small, sexy beard), shows up. The kids are presumably still babies, Franco just put them to bed and both he and Sarita are whispering not to wake them up. They have a very unrealistic conversation, but I guess it serves the plot. Sarita asks him if he likes the life they have. Yes, he admits, he’s very happy, she and the kids are the most important thing for him. He gets into bed with her and they start making out. Back to the present, Sarita is crying, wondering why he left…
The twins check the address again, it’s a bit far away. Norma asks where have they been all day. They explain they will be busy helping Gaby for a while, they are going to visit Nino’s family to take them some stuff. It’s a bit farther away, so Norma doesn’t want to let them go alone. She wants to go with them, but they say she’s too pretty for that barrio. And don’t tell dad about it. Norma insists they could get into trouble all alone, but they think they will be fine. She wants them to be safe and hugs them. They reassure her they will be OK, they’re big boys and know how to defend themselves.
Don Martin is telling one of his stories, Norma asks him to stop inventing and start eating.
At night Romina asks Duvan about Jimena. He thinks she’s pretty and has a nice voice. Romina repeats she’s bad and she stole his dad. Her nice house should be theirs. Duvan doesn’t want to go back there, Romina thinks he should, because the bad witch needs her punishment.
Jimena is watching Oscar sleep and thinking about Duvan. Who does he remind her of?
The next day she’s telling Norma about meeting Duvan and not telling Oscar, because he might think this is about her frustration of not having kids. She says she doesn’t feel frustrated, but Oscar thinks so. Norma asks why not adopt then? Jimena thought about it, but she knows Oscar would rather adopt the twins… Speaking of, here they come, they are getting ready to leave.
Later they are in the car, trying to figure out the right way to get to Nino’s house. Leon is not happy with the state of the road, they somehow end up talking about the dead teacher. Erick wants to drop the subject, at least for now. Gaby is at home, thinking about the twins, Sara tries to take her mind off them. Gaby plans to go to school, but first she will stop by Nino’s.
Part 4 of 4
The twins arrive in some far away town. They wonder how Nino does it every day. Some people walk by, Leon sees they have guns. Maybe they should have brought some, but Norma would have never given them one. At the same time Don M is having one of his daydreams. Some guys try to steal the stuff the twins brought from the trunk of the car. They get into a fight with them, but eventually they manage to chase them away and get back into their car.
Gaby arrives at the hospital and runs into Demetrio. He just dropped by to help Nino, how come he can’t go inside? She’s not happy to see him, he wonders what to do to convince her and Sarita that he cares about helping them. Gaby wants him to disappear from their lives. Demetrio sees this as impossible, because he loves his mother. Did he even have one conversation alone with Sarita so far? He eventually leaves. But Gaby can’t see Nino, either, he had a crisis, a nurse says, nobody can see him. What crisis, Gaby asks and thinks about Demetrio’s presence at the hospital.
The twins agree they have to be very careful, especially with the money. They found the right address. They knock on the big doors, and a woman comes outside. They say they are looking for Don Emilio, Nino’s abuelo. The guy shows up, asks what they want and where is Nino. They give him the stuff they had prepared, several bags. There is someone the abuelo is talking to and it seems like that person is behind some bars (or a window?). The twins also give him the money and the abuelo is touched. There is some noise, Erick is curious and looks inside, only to see a young woman with a child.
I really liked this episode because it focused more on the old gang, which is a nice change of pace. Rosario, JD, Muriel were still on, but not so much.
We got to see Norma and Juan make out, Jimena's story is advancing and ... and Franco showed up. It will be interesting to see how they explain his absence starting now, since this is about the time things had started shifting behind the scenes.
Anyone still remembers Felix? Has the show forgotten about him? Don't care, just curious. It seems like his story has been dropped completely since Muriel arrived.
Thank you Adriana! This was a fun episode and you captured it all with your usual flare!! And we finally have a FRANCO sighting!!!! So excited and totally agree that beard was sexy.
You stated this perfectly: 'The scene is maddening, because it’s obvious that JD needs help, someone’s advice, but Andres is, rather ironically, a bit tone deaf in this situation …' so frustrating! Why doesn't Andres, who is always concerned for others see his cousin needs him? It shows both the great respect JD has for Andres and how upset he is that he went to see his cousin first thing and Andres basically dismissed him!
FRANCO!!! I can't overstate how happy I was to see Michel make his appearance! The scene was unrealistic but it was cute. I laughed when Franco asked Sarita if she wanted him to demonstrate how big his...um capabilty to love her is! Lol and she answered with yes, because I've never seen it! Rofl Those two still have noticably great chemistry even in that one short scene.
This is first episode where I was actually impressed with the twins!! They gave their word to Nino and they kept it! Even with the near robbery in the neighborhood they weren't deterred and completed the mission. I also noticed when they got back to Sara's from the hospital, Gaby was in the front seat and Leon was in the back so there's some gallantry buried deep down somewhere. Eric looked impacted by that woman, was it just surprise or did he recognize her? Could that be the missing Adele?
Funniest line of the night, Leon saying to Norma: 'Please, for what you most love in this world, which is Eric and I, don't tell dad!! I laughed so hard. I used to try to tell my mom I was her favorite all the time! Still if I was Norma, I would let Oscar adopt them for sure!
I am kind of wondering just how crazy Martin is? He seems very intune to when his family is in danger. I sort of think we should be noting all the 'crazy' things he says in case they end up being important later.
Juanita, thank you for every detail as the merry go round of pain and torment turns on.
I'll quote Gonul whose words would have made the perfect title for this show " Let's Suffer! " and we all have , characters and viewers alike. I am anxious to see if anyone gets a HEA. I
Valentine's Day is evidently a big deal in Turkey . I noticed this in Fatmagul, too. Strawberry cake seems to be the favored dessert.
Fabulous recap Adriana, thank you! You helped me put a couple of things into perspective, and to actually see the twins in a different light——— slight as it may be, lol. Gaby’s their first cousin,, and I’m sure that there’s a real and sincere closeness between the. Maybe, too, there’s something that they want to prove to the family as a whole——- that they can be trusted and aren’t just troublemakers. But I need to see more of this behavior to trust them. One good deed does not a good person make, imho……
I also very disappointed in Andres. He tells Muriel that he “thought he knew JD, but now doesn’t cause Rosario got to him first with her overinflated explanation!?!?! Like you won’t even give the person you’ve known all your life the benefit of the doubt over a person you met a few months ago? This is not believable to me cause most cousins, especially first cousins who grew up together have ties that can be stronger than brothers. There’s a loyalty there that’s hard to break or even question, especially from when an outsider is involved—— and yes, Rosario is an outsider. I hope this story line doesn’t take an even worse turn for JD and Andres.
Romina using her son this way—— beyond sick! Ughhhhhh
And yes, it was so good seeing Franco———if even as a memory……
Thanks again Adriana!
JUANITA..RECAP HEAVEN!!.gosh I needed that review.....THANK YOU..thank you.. I am at work and your recap is what I needed.. Right on time..
YES.... and OMG!! Yarren... put her in the manicomio? right now!!
Thanks so much for the excellent recap, Juanita. Tell us how you really feel about Yaren!
What the hell was that gift. OK, I get it. He's trying to tell her she's wasting their time together by not wanting to see his face after he punished her for being a little bit kind to Azize. But he ordered the wrong size on Amazon. That watch was meant for the Jolly Green Giant.
Why doesn't Cihan just tell Hazar that his family is leaving Midyat? And why doesn't Azat, an adult man who's in love with an adult woman, just tell his father he's staying where he is. Fusun hasn't threatened him.
Fusun's Goons. Sounds good.
I'm not happy Reyyan is mooning over Miran in her room. As I believe Carmella commented, she needs to pull up her big girl panties and do something more than cry into her cake batter.
Hazar was just annoying last night. He finds out the mother who raised him wasn't his bio mother. This has happened to a lot of people all over the world. Usually it's finding out it's not their bio dad, but whatever. That one scene where he just screams for about 5 minutes, inside the bulldozer was just ridiculous.
I am definitely curious about what Fusun has planned for Yaren. If they spared her from the noose, I doubt she'll die tonight.
What's up with all the endearments from Dilsah. Two episodes ago she looked like she wanted to push Reyyan off that high patio and now she's all mi tesoro. Guess you have to almost miscarry her grandchild to get through to her.
I always enjoy every scene with Azize and Nasuh together. Whether they're threatening to murder the other one or exchanging fond looks, these two pros bring the excellent acting.
Thanks very much, VVS, carmella, and Susanlynn, for your terrific comments.
VVS, Yes, Miran has a lot of sucking up to do for Reyyan. And alas, I think she'll forgive him...again and again and again. I'm afraid I've had it with this couple. And yes, I too hope Umut is OK. I've never been sure how much the emotional state of the mother can affect a fetus. Some accounts say "a lot," while others are more skeptical. But I don't envy any child who has Mercurial Miran for a father.
Carmella, I liked your description of Miran as an abuser, and your tracing it to the abusive way he was raised by Azize. I keep wondering whether the writers thought of him this way. I rather doubt it, which as far as I'm concerned says something very negative about the writers. And I agree too about Azize being delusional in her quest for forgiveness. She starts doing good and everyone is supposed to forgive and forget a lifetime of malice and evil? Sorry, I don't buy that, though I also don't buy Hazar's falling apart at the thought that Azize is his bio mom. And I resent the writers' bringing Fusun in so that Azize will look good in comparison. One Mickey coming up!
Susanlynn, I love your idea of Gonul's "Let's suffer" for the episode's title. One alternative that I also like is the one carmella proposed for an earlier episode: "Cry Me a River." I'm surprised that Midyat wasn't flooded out with all the tears characters shed last night.
Many thanks, Halimacandy and novelera, for your delightful comments. I didn't realize that you both had posted while I was writing back to VVS, carmella, and Susanlynn. I checked the site a couple of times to see whether there were more comments, but the number remained at 34. Duh. Lo siento mucho.
Halimacandy, I'm glad the recap was just what you needed! As for Yaren, though she definitely needs some mental health therapy, I doubt that that's what Fusun has in mind for her. Perhaps we'll find out tonight.
Novelera, I loved your explanation of the gift! As for Hazar, he has become such a disappointment. OTOH, as you point out, Dilsah in last night's episode seems to have undergone a brain transplant and is now sweet to querida Reyyan. I wonder which Dilsah is going to appear in tonight's episode. And I too am curious to see what Fusun has in mind for Yaren.
Season 2, Epi 80
Part I
A resigned Yaren exits the Sad-nak getting into a waiting car while Handan yells hysterically trying to stop her. A delayed Cihan takes off in pursuit.
Meanwhile, Nasuf continues his recital of what he and Ayse couldn’t do. He apologizes for all the lost time and moments...he still loves her. He lives for her and their kid… Hazar and Miran will come around. She’s not that optimistic…her son will never look at her let alone talk to her. She’ll die waiting for his change of heart. Nasuf is sure Hazar will come around once he learns the whole truth. He takes off on a mission.
Reyan goes outside and looks across the terrace. A remorseful Miran has prepared a romantic setting of lights and flowers. He’s so sorry ...nothing is more important than she is…he grovels. He’s only loved one woman in his life…she taught him how to love and much more. Not an excuse but she didn’t teach him how to share his pain. Not to worry…life without her is the worse pain ever….never again will he take out his disappointments on her. He begs for her forgiveness. Not so fast…she’s not planning to live with his periodic tantrums so he pulls out the “what happened to leaving the past in the past card”. Let’s leave all this behind as soon as possible. She gives in…pending he doesn’t revert back to his old self. He coaxes a smile…they’re back on happy terms.
Firat’s surprises for Zeynep continues…Esma has prepared a gourmet meal for them. Looks like he’s brought a girl home for dinner….Esma is happy. It’s not like that denies Zeynep…but Esma knows better…and Firat doesn’t deny it.
Nasuf forces Hazar to leave the office so they can go and have a chat…enough is enough. (FF…the Luftu nonsense). Miran continues his apology offerings to Reyan. This time it’s a foundation created on behalf of ReyMir in the name of their son. It will assist girls in their region with furthering their studies. They can be mothers as well as intelligent, strong and educated.
Fusun walks Yaren to the site where Harun was killed, forcing her to tell exactly what happened. A tearful Yaren tells her story as Fusun fumes. Yaren is very detailed in her delivery of his final breaths. When she finishes…Fusun’s goon pulls out a gun. “Good girl…you’re father is not as brave as you” says Fusun as she points the gun at Yaren’s head.
Nasuf brings Hazar to Ayse/Azize . A disgusted Hazar thinks Nasuf should be ashamed of himself for tricking him like that. He attempts to leave but Nasuf stops him and instead leaves him alone with her. Timidly, Azize addresses Hazar but he stops her…telling her not to say his name. “I won’t son”... she starts her story. How she lost him at that very farm in a fire. She recalls the events of that day….her pain and agony. The memory of his scent and love kept her alive. His tears fueled her vendetta. Nasuf never tried to find her but his mother told her he had married another...will have another child. With no child to link her to the Sadoglus…she was told to move on. Nasuf was lied to as well…Ayse died in the fire.

Season 2, Epi 80
Part 2
Azize brings up Nazil so Hazar warns her to be careful because Nazil is his real mother. Not one time did she ever make him feel like a stepson. She took care of him like he was her own. Azize gets it….anyway, it was his grandmother that robbed her. Azize married and had 3 more sons but nothing dulled the pain of losing him. Her hatred grew with each thought of him…she lived for revenge….it was all she could think of. Hazar is affected…tears form in his eye. But God showed her his greatness when he revealed Hazar to her. All her life she’s been tested, even now.
• Hazar replies…I don’t believe a word you says…what do you want from me
• the only thing I want is for you to call me mama
• With a laugh…shaking his head in disbelief…never…never. As long as I cling to life, you will never hear me call you that Sra. Azize”. You’ve ruined my life…from the start. You took the woman I loved, pregnant. They said she was dead and I’ve cried ever since. Furthermore, you blamed me for her death. You took my son too. Never saw my son born, crawl, or walk. Never heard him call me papa. How dare you. How could you ever hope I’d ever call you moma. I’d prefer to die first.
• May god protect you….keep you alive. ..that your mother die but keep you alive.
OK…I didn’t’ pay much attention to this part but it was a continuation of…and yet another moment when ReyMir recite their love and make promises…and plan for the future. (yawn)
Hazar is brought to tears and surprisedly doesn’t slap her hand away when she tries to console him. “I should be the one crying” she says. “OK…I understand everything you said you went through…you suffered a lot. But how could you be so sinister…you chose to be horrible. Did you see how my son suffered because of you…did he chose to be bad? You set up a fake wedding and humiliated my daughter in the plaza…did she chose to be bad? Despite the venom you spewed into Miran…did he choose to be a horrible person? NO. You know why…Because the hearts of my kids are clean. But you….you are rotten inside…your heart is black”.
“Hazar…take my life…do it…take my life to free our spirit. Kill me to end this pain. I’ve lived years without living and can never redeem myself. A little hope was born when I found you again but it went out knowing you hated me. I beg you…kill me”. Interestingly...Hazar pulls out his gun…but of course doesn't do it. He throws the gun to the ground and tells her to do it herself if she wants to die so bad. (cool….he didn’t fall for that trick).
Later ReyMir are in their room….Miran is ready to continue acts of redemption. Not sure what he had in mind but it's interrupted when Luftu knocks on the door. He’s brings them a nice cake with a card that reads “everyone deserves a second chance”. A message from Reyan. Miran realizes she’s not referring to them but Azize. He allows her to make her case which includes her giving him another shot after the horrible thing he did to her. “you have a heart of gold” he says. “You can forgive her” he asks. We wait for his answer.
Hazar exits the house to find Nasuf waiting for him…wanting to know what happened. The epi ends with the sound of a gunshot.
The end

Thanks very much, Nett, for this excellent recap. I'm glad you focused on the important parts and FF or skipped over the parts that should have been left on the cutting room floor (like almost everything involving Luftu as well as some of the repetitious discussion between Reyyan and Miran).
I'm glad you included the scene between Nasuh and Azize/Ayse. I found that much more moving than almost everything between Reyyan and Miran. I'm not sure how much results from a more compelling story line and how much reflects the talent of the actors who play Azize and Nasuh.
I almost started to laugh when Miran informs Reyyan that he/they have started a foundation devoted to helping girls get a meaningful education in spite of the traditions that hold them back. This seemed so out of character for Miran. Oh well, if including this makes the writers feel they're doing something more significant, fine.
Reyyan got very excited when she felt the baby kick. It was apparently the first time she felt this. That would mean she's probably somewhere in the second trimester of her pregnancy. So why did she say in an earlier recent episode that it won't be long now until Umut appears? She certainly doesn't want to go into labor in the 2nd trimester.
I took Reyyan's message on the cake, "Everyone deserves a second chance," as referring to both Miran and Azize, though Miran doesn't seem happy with that interpretation. And perhaps neither do the Powers That Be, since suddenly the wind starts up and blows out the candle on the cake.
I wonder whether Turkey is really as gun-crazy as this dizi makes it seem. Is there any male in the dizi over the age of 12 who doesn't carry a gun? Hazar pulls out his as soon as Azize says she should die and he should kill her. Of course, he's too much of a wuss to pull the trigger, so he obligingly leaves the gun, tells her to do it herself, and leaves. The gunshot we hear at the very end of the episode was certainly intriguing.
Thank you Nett! Loved your “straight to the point “ recap! ITA that there’s no point in “drowning” in the sugary, syrupy “blah, blah, blah” of Miran begging for forgiveness, and Reyyan smiling so much that it looks like her face may crack! I realize that every relationship has growing pains, and Miran did admit that he doesn't know how “not to” take his pain out on her, but it’s almost like the writers create the dissension between them just so they can write these nauseating make up scenes! Grow up and grow together Reymir! Your fights are off putting and your make ups are even moreso!
I much more prefer the mature love between Nasuh and Ayse right now, and think that this would’ve been a much better written story if they would’ve focused on the love story between them. Something like the movie the “Notebook” story. Even after all and I do mean ALL that Azize has done, Nasuh’s love for her was true, and her pain was real even though it was dark and insidious like Hazar said. Pain and grief go hand in hand, and Azize stayed stuck in hers for almost 50 yrs. So, was Hazar’s love for Dilsah as deep and as true as Nasuh’s? Both had/have obligations to other women, but it appears that Nasuh never loved Nazli as much as it seems like Hazar loves Zehra. So I don’t know if Hazar will ever truly understand the depth of his father’s love or the depth of Ayse’s pain between the loss of him and the betrayal that she believed Nasuh purposely served her. If you look at it objectively, her pain was so bad that it made her do horrible, horrible things while not excusing what’s she’s done whatsoever. Either way, Hazar needs to grow up too, even though these folks in this dizi want what they want like yesterday, and try to force other’s into their way of thinking. Please give Hazar some space people! It’s unrealistic, and cruel to not give a person some time when they’ve sustained a life altering blow! Forgiving someone is never easy, but it will help Hazar move on from this crybaby state of his, call her “Mom,” and keep it moving. She does not have to be a part of your life if you don’t want her to be.
Liking Firat and Zeynep, and it was good to see Esma laugh and enjoy herself for once. Was there ever a time when we saw Esma really laugh and smile??? I think that they’re trying to use Lufti as “comic relief” and it’s failing miserably. He’s a nice man who tries hard——give him a break!
As for Yaren, I’m sure Fusun won’t kill her. Either Cihan will show up and shoot Fusun’s shooting hand off, or Yaren will play the pregnancy card. I don’t think they’re done with Yaren yet——-well neither of them, but I wish they were!!
Thanks again Nett! Much appreciated! 💯
Nett, thanks for another excellent recap . It seems as though this show is recapping itself as the characters keep repeating the storylines Over and over to each other ...is that For the people just tuning in to this tale of revenge and ongoing angst or because the writers have no new ideas about what's happening next?
Okay, Basta...lets get on with it now. I have no idea how the writers are going to end this show . Will the baddies get anvils ,and will there be some HEAs? Next.
The woman calls the old guy Abuelo. She is afraid because her parents were killed and the Abuelo is helping her and her little brother. They both want to see Nino, so the twins tell them what happened to him. The woman is still afraid, Abuelo explains she’s a bit feral. Erick wants to take them away, since this place is dangerous. But Don Emilio refuses, especially not without Nino. Leon tells them to keep everything they brought, and they can talk again later, when Nino gets out of the hospital. The Abuelo tells them to go, people in the area don’t like strangers. As they go, Erick is reluctant to leave without them.
There is the woman from before “taking care” of their car, asking for money for the unasked favor. She says she’s Nino’s friend, Leon rightfully points out she’s strange. Apparently Erick liked Civila, the girl, she looked so special. Just then Leon sees someone in the side mirror – it’s Adela! The twins split in order to find her faster (I didn’t get why), but they still end up losing her. Leon is sure it was her, Erick wants to get back to the car, they can come back for her later.
Gaby goes to see Oscar. She’s worried about Nino’s crisis, especially since she met Demetrio at the hospital… He always pretends to run into her, but she doesn’t buy it. And his interest in Nino is strange. Oscar knows he intervened when they were attacked, he wonders how much did he actually help. Gaby is confused about the whole thing, wishes she could have helped the twins. Now she’s worried about them since they haven’t called her.
Nino is being taken to surgery, a nurse assures him he’ll be alright.
It’s dinner time, Juan is upset the twins haven’t called. Norma hasn’t told Juan how far they went, only that the area didn’t have a good cell connection. JD only hopes they didn’t get into trouble and Juan thinks they shouldn’t have gone without anyone knowing where they went. Quintina thinks they are big enough to take care of themselves, Juan reminds everyone the trouble they were in because of that teacher. JD says they could go search for them.
The boys are on some road, out of gas and very hungry. Leon is still shocked they found Adela hiding in that place, Erick thinks she’s doing it on purpose not to talk to the police. Whatever she’s hiding, has to be very important – she could be connected to the murder. Erick wonders if they should tell anyone they found her, would that help them or not?
A car is approaching. It’s their dad and brother. Juan asks why aren’t they answering their phones, so Erick says they didn’t want to worry them with such nonsense as being out if gas. The question is do they have any extra for them? If I were Juan I wouldn’t give them any, gas is expensive these days…
Norma is taking Don Martin to see the workers. The old man wants a beer hehe. One of ranch hands likes Norma (is this the guy who was talking about Romina a while ago?), his friend warns him to take care. Apparently he’s not the only guy interested in her. To think she’s those two devils’ mom.
When they get home the twins complain they were scolded by their dad. Norma is upset they haven’t called once, even Sarita and Gaby called several times worried about them. The twins say they gave everything they had to Nino’s family. There were some things that happened that they didn’t expect, nd Leon starts saying they saw someone, but Erick stops him. He covers by saying they saw someone special at Nino’s house, but they’ll tell them all about it tomorrow. They go to bed and Norma wonders what she will do with them!!
Erick is in his room remembering Civila. Leon is already sleeping when his phone rings. It’s the anonymous caller, reminding him about the money he asked. And now he and his brother tried to set him a trap – what do they think they are doing going to places where they don’t belong? Leon asks why he was so bothered by this. The caller warns him if they say something to the police they will be in trouble.
Leon goes to his brother’s room to tell him about the call he got. It was because they went to that place, the blackmailer threatened them again. Erick thinks this means Adela is involved with the anonymous caller.
The next morning the entire family (minus Andres) is at the breakfast table. The twins talk about what happened, how bad that neighborhood was. Nino’s family was OK, very nice, and the Abuelo is taking care of two siblings, a five year old child and a beautiful 18 year old girl. Juan is impressed by the way Erick talks about this girl, Leon says they were both impressed by the conditions that family lived in; Erick thinks they should help them as a family and Gaby agrees. But Norma and Sara warn them this is not as easy as it might look.
Gabriela has come to see Sara and runs into Andres, who is going to rehearse for a church function. He tells her mom and Gaby went to Juan’s ranch to talk about a family matter and Gabriela is upset she wasn’t included. She knows that Nino boy is in a bad shape and she and Demetrio plan to pay for the funeral (!!) and help his family. Andres points out the guy is not even dead yet. Gabriela thinks Andres, always the wisest one, should convince Sara that Demetrio is a good guy. But Andres is busy, offers to talk about this another time.
Oscar thinks the twins’ idea is good, and he and Jimena can take in Nino’s family since they have a lot of space. Leon warns that the old man won’t go without Nino. Leon tells Erick that maybe they should confess to their uncle the other things they found in that place. But not here, somewhere else. Juan sees them go.
In Erick’s bedroom, they mention the Adela sighting and they conclude the anonymous caller is hiding her in that neighborhood and she must have had something to do with the murder. Oscar says they need to tell the cops, but Leon is afraid that guy will attack them. Besides they’d need to tell their family. And they are afraid of the assassin. Oscar doesn’t quite get their reasoning, they’re innocent, right? Or are they still hiding something??
Erick says they are not hiding anything, they are just afraid. Leon adds he asked the blackmailer to send him the proof he has against them. Oscar says that Adela is probably running from that place by now, they need to go find her. Why are they afraid, they are men!
Later Oscar and Jimena are walking in town. She noticed he spoke with the twins in private, what was that about? Well sometimes he’s very proud of them, other times he doesn’t get them. He’s upset they don’t trust him. He’s not their father or some lame uncle, he wants to be their go to guy no matter what.
They walk by Felix, who stares at them in his creepy manner.
Rosario arrives at the ranch. Norma sees her go straight to the stables or whatever is the place where they keep the medicine. JD is there, Rosario tells him she has been waiting for him to come by the bar. JD is not used to that type of house calls, she thinks he could have used Muriel’s health as a good pretense. JD says he’s not the type to use people, he respects Muriel. Rosario asks him to invent something, because she misses him. JD says she shouldn’t wait for him, so Rosario concludes she will just have to come see him. She starts kissing him, and he caves until he hears Norma call. He goes back to the desk and Rosario tells him she’s waiting for him at the house.
She leaves and runs into Norma, who asks if she has a problem with JD. Is this about Muriel’s accident? No, not at all, she has nothing against them and Muriel loves them all. Norma says Muriel is lovely and Rosario returns the favor, JD is great, too. Then she invites Norma and all her family to stop by the bar for a show.
At night Jimena and Oscar are in bed. She realizes he’s still worried, reminds him they were supposed to go out tonight. He says he’s just very tired. The next day Jimena and Sara will go to church to pray for Nino’s health. Oscar wonders about Gaby and Nino’s relationship, thinks there has to be something more than just friendship. Gaby has odd tastes, but she surely doesn’t like that Demetrio guy. Jimena doesn’t like him too much, either, she prefers less formal men, like her Oscar. He offers to go to church with her the next day and they start making out.
It’s morning and Gabriela has come to visit her father. Quintina is worried because Norma and Juan are not home, but Gabriela came because of that. She’s rude to Quintina, then goes to wake up her father, who’s not happy to see her. Why is he being kept locked up, all alone? He says he chose to stay home, she says he has his own home, he needs peace and quiet at his age. She misses him, even if they fight a lot, she loves him. He needs to tell Norma to take him back home. He says he will when he’s sure she won’t throw him out to allow some good for nothing take his place. Gabriela pretends not to get what he’s saying, so Don Martin, God bless his crazy smart brain, reminds her of her second husband and all that he’s done to them. And now there is this new guy, this new friend of hers, Demetrio, who’s just like the old one. When she stops being this guy’s friend, they will talk. But in the meantime, go away. She calls him unfair, he says that might be so, but he’s not idiot enough to fall for the same lie twice (or something similar).
The family is at church, listening to Andres play. Muriel and Rosario come, too and Norma sees them. JD also notices the two ladies, one has to wonder which one he’s happier to see.

Dead??dead!!...Die mother Die!!...no such luck!!!!!!!!
Thank you Adriana for another excellent, well written recap! It was “strangely” nice to see the twins sincerely interested in someone else’s well-being instead of their usual selfish and obnoxious behavior. If they stay in this vein, I may even grow to like them, lol. Erick got a little shot from Cupid’s arrow——meeting Civila, and I also wonder if we’ll see a different Erick because of her? Hope so……..Again, I can’t say how much I love Juan Sr and how he relates to his sons. I initially thought that he should beat the crap out of his arrogant twins, but the more I see him, and check out his personality, he’s the kind of man that teaches by example. Without A doubt, I know he can strong arm if he needs to, but his discipline is the kind that makes a man, not break him. He wants his sons to “think” about their behavior and to grasp making better decisions. I guess that’s why it hurt him so much when Norma smacked him in front of them? Funny, but you’d think Norma knows her husband by now, and how he works things out in the discipline department? Juan Sr’s personality just adds to his sexiness, imo, lol.
JD though! I’m starting to not see him as a “victim” of Rosario’s wiles. He starts out okay, then he gets caught up when she gets close and starts kissing him. Is it just “physical”like he says? Or is there something more? When you think about it, they haven’t had a single intelligent conversation cause they can’t keep their lips off each other. It makes me sick cause even if he’s not sure about his feelings for Muriel——which are obvious——he should keep Rosario at a distance until he figures it out. Stop letting Rosario take up your headspace and kiss you till you’re stupid, and just walk away. He’s sending mixed signals, but the only one Rosario is zoning in on is the one between her legs, sorry to say……..
Don Martin sure gave Gabriela a boatload of truths, but she’s so obtuse it only hurt her pride for a hot second! The woman is missing something when it comes to common sense, and she most assuredly is lacking a woman’s “natural instinct!” Like instinct should be giving her mountain sized goosebumps and hebejeebies where Demetrio is concerned! She defends him like a woman who’s blindly in love. It’s hard to watch!
Oscar needs to grow up, and that’s all I’ll say on this point! Like YOU ARE THEIR UNCLE! Act like it! He wants to be their friend!?!? Shut up Oscar!
Thanks again Adriana! Really enjoyed your recap!
Thanks so much, Nett, for a fine recap. And kudos for skipping the schmaltz between Miran and Reyyan. I wish she'd held out a little bit and made him suffer some more.
I still wonder where all his money is coming from now he's not an Aslanbey. Actually I kind of rolled my eyes at Miran's "foundation". This from the guy who was borderline abusive when either Harun or Aslan got within 10 feet of his wife. Now he's Mr. Feminism? And the huge stack of books was supposed to be symbolic but just looked silly.
So I've been enjoying Fusun's goon so much I came up another: Azize's Android (Mahmoud).
Yaren is trying hard to beat her cousin Miran's nine lives record. and I also do not expect that Azize has shot herself in the head.
They almost made us think that Hazar was going to forgive his mother. FINALLY he found out that someone had deceived his father that she was dead and deceived her that her love child was dead.
Thank you Adriana, your recap is fantastic as always! And we got a Felix sighting, not as fun by any means as a Franco sighting but you asked about him yesterday and today he appears! He he. I guess we should ask for Franco everyday...
So a lot has been said about JD falling in love at first sight like Juan did before him, but maybe we had the wrong son? Because JD still seems confused but Eric may have done just that! His reaction to Civila was surprising but undeniable, and I like Carmella, I immediately wondered if we were going to see a new Eric from here on out. It would be a welcome change!
I really really don't like that Adan guy (I think that's his name the employee who is into Norma), and I am not a fan at all of this idea of having some shady ranch dude try to set his eyes on the boss's wife! We already have a stalker, a murder mystery, a ghoul, and a godmother/witch, a side chick slash poisoner by child-proxy....we don't need some clown harassing Norma; although we would definitely see the less-tamed Juan show up if that happened.
'JD also notices the two ladies, one has to wonder which one he’s happier to see.' A good question. I thought it was very interesting and surprising, that we didn't see Muriel look at him at all...Rosario stared predictably and JD seemed to be looking at Muriel and smiling before noticing Rosario's glance and looking away, Muriel just faced forward smiling at Andres. I still think he probably likes Muriel and is more disturbed by Rosario than attracted but he needs to get much better at saying no and establishing boundaries, like overnight, which probably won't happen. Oh well, Adriana, as you said, you do like a good mess! LOL I hope it doesn't get too messy though because I will hate it if they ruin JD's character and make him impossible to root for.
The actress playing Adela is very beautiful! I wonder if she's involved with her father's mother or hiding for another reason...and I agree Oscar's relationship with the twins is just weird and unnatural. I am surprised Juan Sr allows it.
Don Martin's words to Gabriela were so spot on and I just can't believe she is still so arrogant and sure of herself! You would think the fact that her ENTIRE family doesn't trust the guy would be a red flag by now!!
I wonder why Andres didn't go to the family meeting? I mean it seems obvious why Gabriela wasn't invited, but what's up with Andres? The last couple of episodes the way he's acting seems at odds with the character we have gotten to know.
Excellent Tuesday recap, Juanita. Loved your editing on the Wednesday recap, Nett.
carmella, I thought your analysis of Miran v. Reyyan and Nasuh, Azize and Hazar was on point! ITA, why did they bring in Lutfu when we already had minimal comic relief with Seyda?
The writing for ReyMir has ruined this show. For me, they are the worst storyline. I hope they don’t ruin Gonul and Azat, too. Thank goodness for Zeynep and Firat, they seem like normal people in a world of crazy.
No way the Cihan family is leaving Midyat. There’s more excruciating drama to be mined. Grow some avocados, Azat, and get the hell out of Midyat with Gonul asap. I won’t be surprised if Cihan screws things up for Hazar again. Hazar is too quick to give helal to his brother. I’m sure Cihan will be asking again before this dizi is over.
And speaking of forgiveness, why Reyyan, why? My eyes almost rolled to the back of my head when I heard about the Umut Sadoglu Foundation.
LOL, Susanlynn, “It seems as though this show is recapping itself as the characters keep repeating the storylines Over and over to each other”
Ughhh, I wrote a huge comment that got lost :(((
Carmella, ITA about JD not being the victim here. His family treats him like a grown up, he's even invitated when the old gang have their talks, so why would we see him dufferently? I do think his infatuation is purely physical, we have seen he's able to contain himslef when Rosario is not around (never looks for her or visits her), he's just having a hard time dealing with her when she's in his face. "Little" JD is to blame here.
Darcy, I did notice that Felix showed up after I summoned him Haha... Franco! Franco! Franco!
Oscar is very creepy in his interest for his nephews. Like we didn't have enough of those to go around. Jimena is aware he's going overboard, her face when he mentioned Oscar wanting to adopt them said it all. The only question is how long before Oscar does something that wins him Juan's wrath...
The twins' story is changing, I don't know if this was always the plan, but they are becoming bearable. I predict Erick will fall badly for Civila and Leon won't like it, since he and his bro do everything together.
I don't get Andres either. Just yesterday he was complaining that Gaby's not coming to him for advice and then, minutes later, he rejected JD's obvious cry for help. Is he still in the closet with his family?
Adriana Noel
Susanlyn, just wanted to say I loved your comment about the show recapping itself. When I used to watch Turkish novelas this drove me crazy.
I have a hard time recapping parts of Pasion because the actors mumble a lot and I take notes as I watch, so no time to rewind. Having some character tell me once in a while what is happening would be of great help.
