Mi Fortuna es Amarte Mon. 3/14/22 #14

1. Tavo enters the house he shares with Connie and all of the lights are off. He turns on some lights and calls her name as he starts to look for her.

2. Olga's motor mouth is flying calling Natalia a prostitute being in HER Chente's room. Chente tells her to stop but Olga refuses insisting that she will say what she wants to Natalia. Natalia says she doesn't have to but Olga pushes her back as she tries to leave. Olga accuses her of living there just to get a new husband.  Natalia tells her not to talk to her that way and if she is living there it is because of necessity. Olga answers saying it is clearly her necessity to have a man. Chente tells Olga that is enough. She has no business being in this bedroom. (what about NO business being in this house???) Natalia says she is confused because there seems to have been  something between Chente and Olga. Chente insists there is  nothing  between them. Olga clears it up further by saying there is nothing between them because Chente doesn't want there to be. Olga goes on to reveal herself even further talking about how much she loves him and how long she has been waiting for him. An exasperated Natalia leaves to wait for Chente downstairs and Olga smiles. Chente lets Olga have it saying she cannot treat him like he is her property. She starts to pound on his chest and he grabs her wrists and tells her ENOUGH. In tears she asks him why he can't give HER a chance. She gets free as she tells him she has been his friend in the good times and the very worst times. She warns him that Natalia is only there to take advantage of him. He has had it. It is over. He is going to say goodbye to everyone and he wants her out of his house. She sarcastically says just go ahead and run her off. She tells him "Donde pisa leona no deja huella gata." (A cat cannot leave a footprint  where a lioness has been/ A great woman cannot be replaced by one who isn't.) and that she is going to fight for him. She leaves an angry Chente in his room.

3. Tavo goes into the bedroom expecting to see Connie there but she isn't. He calls her cell phone but she isn't answering.

4. Connie cannot answer because she is playing kissy face with William in restaurant. After the kiss ends, she cannot believe she is out with him when she had no plans of seeing him again. William likes to fight for what he wants and even more when it is a woman like her. Connie has a hard time believing him and his compliments considering she is little older than he is. Why should she believe that he likes her that much? He says he noticed her because  she has always seemed to be all alone when she was with her friends. She asks if that is why she is there. He answers that only she can say.

5. Tavo calls Fernanda to see if Connie is with her. No she isn't.

6. Tavo calls Samia next. No, Connie isn't with her either but she has a bit of advice for him: not to leave Connie so much alone because she has been . . . a bit sad lately and her aura is losing its shine and color.  He needs to spend more time with his wife making her happy.

7. After dinner, William suggests to Connie that maybe they should restart their relationship from zero. She agrees but now she is going back to her own house. William wants to take her. She refuses at first saying it isn't a good idea but  gives in when he says he will just walk her to her door.

8. Chole asks Olga and Valentina how the party went. Olga says horrible. Valentina goes  to her room. 2XJosé goes to his. Juanga cannot understand why Chole chose not to go to the party. He puts the moves on her, too. She tells him that she isn't interested and that she is sure he will find the right woman some day.  As he continues, she tells him that the beers he had are talking more than he is and says good night.

9. Natalia thanks Omar for staying at the party with Andrea. Andrea being her b*tchy bratty self  appears with her suitcase and informs her mother she is going to live at Omar's.  Natalia snatches her suitcase back and tells her that isn't happening. Andrea tells her mother that she is  too late because she and Omar are going to get married. Omar says he loves Andrea. Natalia sees that she is only using Omar for her desperation to get out of her current situation. Natalia says she will not allow her to get married to escape the reality that her  father has created for them. Natalia tells Omar goodnight. Andrea tells Natalia she hates her.

10. Connie sneaks into her own home into the dark until Tavo turns on the light. He demands to know were she is coming from.

11. Chente is washing dishes.  After seeing Omar out, Natalia  joins in helping him out.  She will wash (Smart woman!)) and he can dry. Chente tells her not to pay attention to all of the  crazy things that Olga said. Natalia says her reaction shows that she must really be in love with him because this wasn't the first time. Chente says that Olga has always been like a little kitten without an owner who was always joking around with him. Chente adds that cheating on his wife never entered his mind. Natalia wishes all men were like him. She also gives him some advice: talk to Olga seriously and clarify the situation so she doesn't go assuming things that aren't. He understands  but Olga  is stubborn and doesn't get that she doesn't have a chance with him. Natalia starts to laugh saying the whole thing is funny:  his wife is barely cold  and Olga has already fixated on him.  A sensitive Chente takes offense: is he such a loser that nobody would want him? Natalia says that isn't what she meant. Well, that is  how he took it. She ends up apologizing. He asks her straight up. Could someone like him find someone who would fall in love with him?

12. Connie finally says she went out to have a drink because of problems in her marriage. He guesses that she solved it all with one drink. She disagrees. The thing that matters is that he was not there with her. She asks where he was or better yet where have his head and heart been. She finds it necessary to be more direct: has he been out cheating on her with another woman?

13. Natalia still hasn't answered so Chente lists what he can offer a woman: he has told her that he is loyal, he isn't afraid of work, he likes to save money, and the best of all he dances like a god.  Natalia has to agree that is the best of all. He adds that getting him would be like winning the lottery. She has to agree he would be the grand prize. He asks:  What else would he need for a woman like HER to fall in love with him?  She apologizes again and he starts to laugh saying that she fell for his act hook line and sinker.  He could tell from how nervous she got. She starts to laugh and starts to flick water all over him for how he set her up and teased her.

14. Tavo denies going bed with anyone. Connie  asks if he is interested in anyone. He tells her no. He asks who she was with. She says with her friends Fernanda and Samia. He tells her she is lying because he called them both and they did not know where she was.

15. Chente makes them both a cup of tea just like his grandmother Mago makes.  It will make them sleep like a log. Chente heard Natalia  arguing with Andrea. He reminds her that they were going to help with other out with their kids. She can trust him. Natalia says she just became  aware that Andrea has began to have sex and she didn't know what to say. Natalia admits it  is hard for her because she waited until she was married. Chente reminds her that times have changed and she cannot be judgmental. He asks if her novio is a good guy. Natalia says he is and she has no doubts that he loves Andrea. Chente thinks that since Andrea has taken that step,  Natalia should now advise her  like making  sure she is using birth control. Natalia has to agree that is the most important thing.  She admits that she just wan't ready to hear that her little girl was a woman but it was going to happen sooner or later.

16. Tavo asks Connie who she was with. Connie insists that  she went to to have a drink alone to think about what is happening with them. She sat a the bar and within 10 minutes a young guy sat next to her. At first she says nothing happened but then she changes her mind.  That guy made her feel so many things that  she used to feel with Tavo. She felt desired, beautiful . . . but in the end,  she only felt sad because her husband wasn't making her feel this way. She talked to the guy and that was it. She came home. She asks if Tavo could overcome temptation like she did. She reminds him he is still sleeping in the guest room.

17. Natalia has told  Chente that Andrea and Omar now want to get married. He wonders if it is because Andrea is  pregnant. Natalia tells him not to even think that. She is worried that Andrea is looking for a way out of this house any way she can. Natalia knows that Chente can agree that is not the right reason to get married. Chente understands that Andrea is used to a different kind of life. Natalia  agrees but she cannot give her that lifestyle and she was counting on them being more united than ever to be  able to overcome their situation and move on ahead.  Chente knows that the support of a family is the most important thing. Natalia adds that the girls don't know that they are the only thing keeping her going. Chente is sure things will get better eventually. She is a great mother. She thanks him for the tea. He reminds her that she and her daughters are not alone. She smiles and says the same goes for him and Ben and  that  he needs to know that he can ask her for anything they need. She goes to bed.

18. On  St. Germain at the dock,  "Javier"(Adrián)  and "Antonella" (Verónica) are talking about an investment they have to secure  today. He tells her no worries because he knows what is in play and how to handle it. She is sure it will be a perfect day. She cannot believe that Pedro Carrillo de Mendoza is letting  them use his yacht so they can get married on the high seas. Pedro is there to invite them onto his yacht. Javier thanks him for helping them make their craziness a reality. Pedro hopes he never suffers from the craziness or the illness of marriage. Pedro helps "Antonella" on the boat leaving "Javier" to fend for himself.

19. Chente is leaving for school with Ben when Olga appears out of nowhere wishing them  good day.Ben hides behind his father's leg when he sees her. He says he needs to take his son to school. She invites herself along. Chente  suggests that after last night, it would be better for them to remain at a distance. Chente and Ben move on past her. Ben looks back and she sticks out her tongue at him muttering to herself about the "damn brat."

20. Connie is having breakfast outside. William calls Connie from the gym asking if she is coming to the club. He has a very special gift for her. She sees Tavo coming and tells him she doesn't know but will find him.

21. Tavo approaches and asks who she was talking to. She says Samia about eating up later at the club. She didn't sleep well at all. She was cold all night long.  Tavo apologizes for not having been the companion she expected him to be.  Connie thinks it is easier for him to hate her than  understand her. The real reason that she didn't want Natalia in the house is that by having to see her nieces every single day, she would be reminded of the children that he was not able to give her. She also tells him that him asking for a separation at this point would be abominable. If he were going to do it, he should have done it 20 years ago so she still would have had a chance to meet somebody else and have children. Tavo pledges to do better and spend more time with her. He offers to go the club with her. She tells him no, she is going to meet her friends and talk. He thinks he could benefit from some exercise in the gym.

22. Natalia brings Andrea some orange juice as a peace offering and all the b*tchy brat can do is complain about the shower. Natalia tries to look on the positive side of things but Andrea is not having it.  Natalia tries to talk about sex with her but Andrea finds it all too weird. Natalia says she has only three things to ask of  her: to use birth control, to respect herself and to only do it out of love.   Natalia admit she is now a woman.  Andrea sarcastically agrees adding that is why she is going to marry the man that she loves.

23. "Javier" and "Antonella" are married on the yacht by the captain as Pedro looks on.

24. Tania meets with Mario at the jail. His face is all bruised from a fight he got into defending another prisoner. She has sold the property he asked her to. He wants the proceeds to go to the parties that has filed charges against him. He is desperate to get out. She is worried about him because he is her brother!  (really?) He is asking her to sell what she can and liquidate his debts ASAP.

25. Andrea has dialed up her b*tchy brattiness  another notch and tells her mother she is not ASKING her if she can get married she is INFORMING her that she is getting married PERIOD. And what Natalia thinks . . . Natalia cuts her off telling her not to talk to her that way.  She is worried about Andrea's future and her studies. She need not rush her marriage. Andrea says with "all of the money" that they have, she cannot even afford to send her to school. Regina, who has been standing in the doorway, has  heard enough and won't back off like her sister wants her to. Regina  is grateful to be in a clean and safe place thanks to their mother.  Andrea thinks they are all against her.  (BOO HOO) Natalia cannot see her taking such a big step in her life at 17. Andrea reminds Natalia she was very young when she got married. Natalia says she was no longer a minor. Everything was great but now that their father has abandoned them, she has a different viewpoint. Life isn't all about finding a man and getting married. It is about studying, traveling and  learning how to fight on behalf of oneself as a woman.  Regina agrees. Regina and Natalia both ask Andrea  to thinks about what they said.

26. Chente is out running and Olga has tracked him down with an atole for him and one for her. She only wants to talk to him for five minutes and says she won't bother him again. He silently takes the atole (BIG mistake) In tears, she tells him how much she regrets what she did the other night. She just couldn't help herself when she saw that woman with him in his bedroom. Chente tells her that her attitude has  to change because she has no right to demand him from him. She insists that he lied to her. He doesn't understand. She says that he told her that he wasn't ready to be with  anyone right now. He says he told her the truth because his beloved wife is still in his heart. He still loves her with all of his heart and misses her like she could never imagine. Olga says that she saw him there with that woman. The two of them were dancing all alone in the dark in his dead wife's bedroom. Chente is speechless.

27. Tania has bad news for an hysterical Mario. He can only pay three of the investors with the money she has been able to raise. Mario says his lawyer said there were six investors that he owed money to. He begs her to find more money. He has to get out of on bail. He cannot take being locked up anymore.

28. Chente explains ONE MORE TIME to Olga that there is nothing between him and Natalia except being forced to share the house. Rather than fighting like cats and doges all the time they have decided to try to be friends.  (Chente tells TOO MUCH) Olga thinks had she not come up Natalia would have gotten hi in bed. He cannot believe the silliness that she comes up with just because she has  a mouth. Chente insists that Natalia's a decent woman who is all alone trying to support her daughters. Olga asks him if he likes Natalia. Chente pauses and says he isn't in the frame of mind to be thinking about such things either. His boy is the most important thing for him right now and wanting to see him talking, smiling and playing as before. She assures him that his son will recover since he is  surrounded by love. Before Olga will let Chente enter his own property, she asks if he will forgive her. She adds that she will not be so insistent anymore. She is only asking that he not remove her from his life. She wants him to see her as a good friend; as someone who will always be on his side no matter what. Chente says she will always have his friendship (MISTAKE) and that he knows that the right guy will come along for her someday. She finally moves aside so Chente can go into his own property.

29. Chente comes in to see Natalia and Regina cleaning up the  house.  They are more than happy to help out. Natalia tells Regina to go get her sister to help.  Chente  says his going to shower and then to work but first he will help them. He grabs the broom and Natalia grabs his hands to take it from him. They both notice. Natalia has a favor to ask of him. She would like to use the kitchen to make some desserts that she can sell. Chente likes the idea as long as he and Benja get a taste . . . She readily agrees saying that Benja will be her best judge.

30. Regina comes running into the kitchen to tell her mother that Andrea has left with all of her things. Natalia find it hard to believe just when she thought she had  a break through with Andrea. What is wrong with Andrea anyway?

31. Andrea appears on Omar's doorstep.  He asks if she got her mother's permission to come and live with him. She pushes her bags in saying no. She got out when her mother wouldn't realize she had left.  Omar looks concerned as Andrea runs into his arms saying they are together!!!

32. Verónica calls Tania to let her know that she and Adrián are now married. Tania presumes it was done with the help of  the fake passports. Verónica says yes and that she and Adrián are having an  incredible time. Tania tells her that she has already sold all of her brother's properties. There is just his car left. She thinks maybe she won't sell it so that he will be left with something but on a a second thought, yes! she will be selling it, too. Verónica thinks she has taught her well. Verónica asks when will she be traveling. Tania says she will be on her way very soon and will let her know.

33. Pedro tells "Javier" that he envies him having a woman like "Antonella". "Javier" asks Pedro if this would not be a good time to discuss there partnership. Pedro tells him to relax. you can't mix business with pleasure.

34. Omar tries to explain to  b*tchy bratty Andrea (also another  dunderhead very similar to Olga)  that his father will never let them live together in the apartment. Andrea says they are getting married so???  he reminds her that she is a minor and that she needs her mother's permission.  Andrea is sick of having to hear about his father and her mother!!!Omar reminds her that he wanted to do things in the right way. Andrea says fine and grabs her suitcases and heads to the door. Omar stops her and says the important thing is that they are together come what may.  Andrea is overjoyed and runs back to Omar's arms. He looks remarkably less than overjoyed.

35. Natalia  talks to her mother about Andrea.  She tried to be reasonable with her but that didn't work. Natalia decides she will talk to Sami when she goes to the club to see what she thinks.  Natalia tells her mother she is sure that she will have Andrea sleeping back here at her home tonight. Teresa is all ready to help Natalia out with her desserts. Natalia isn't sure if her dessert plan is going to work. Teresa has enough confidence for both for them. She tells Natalia that the current desserts at the club are not very good. Natalia starts naming the different desserts she is going to make: tira misu, royal matcha cake, mont blanc, and a fig tart.

36. Chente has been listening to the list and has a couple of suggestions: arroz con leche (rice pudding) and platanitos con cream (bananas with cream). She thanks him for his suggestions and goes back to work with her mother. Chente has one last suggestion: jello squares with yogurt.  They are so very good!!!

37. Olga is at home putting on makeup in front of her mirror reliving her invasion of Chente's bedroom starting with turning on the lights so he and Natalia were no longer in the dark.  She thinks back at Natalia calling her a damn whore. Natalia is not going to take Chente away from her. She then thinks back how Chente told her that Ben was the most important thing in his life and how he had no time for anything else because of how poorly Ben was doing. Olga decides that Ben can never get better.  That way Chente  will never have the time for Natalia. She smiles as she puts on lipliner.

38. Mario talks to his lawyer only to find out that his sister Tania has not paid any of his investors. The lawyer hates to say it but he thinks that Mario is trusting his sister way too much. Mario says she is family. If he cannot trust her, who can he trust? Mario admits he also trusts his lawyer (good one, bobo)  His lawyer says that his duty is to warn him. Mario asks if there is something that his lawyer knows that he doesn't. The lawyer says no. There is simply something about his sister that he doesn't like.

39. Still on the yacht, Adrián tells  Verónica that he is still not very sure that Pedro wants to invest with them. Verónica asks if he has any ideas. Adrián says that Pablo likes her. They need his money. She asks if he wants her to seduce  him. Adrián says that  is a card he is willing to play. They both smile as Pedro approaches them  to see if all is well.

Hello Jarifa, thank you from Santa Fe for this terrific recap!! I work shifts and as such missed last nights episode and am just in bed now (the fact that I am here should tell you something about where my priorities lie!!! LOL) but now thanks to you do not feel like I have missed a THING!
Thank you again.

Constanza is a master manipulator, isn't she? Whereas in the past, I had little respect for Gustavo not standing up for himself with kind, gentle, Chole there for him, now I see how effective Constanza has been at utterly emasculating her husband.
As such, I now fully understand, and think that it was genius, on the part of the casting directors to cast somebody like Luis Felipe Tovar in the part, as opposed to somebody more conventionally attractive.
We, obviously, are going to be presented with a character who has two choices- evil, emasculating, rich, shrew wife... OR take a chance on HOT, sexy, good-hearted, humble, amiga-del-barrio who would give the shirt off her back to anyone and do anything for YOU??? If this were a HOT and SEXY actor, it's be a no-brainer! It helps to have the Gustavo character look as "not-the-best", I think. It helps make their horrible dynamic make more sense to us, as well as demonstrate to us again what a wonderful person Chole is, in that she sees beyond all of the things that Constanza will not.

Olga is something else. I am getting serious Glenn Close "Fatal Attraction" vibes from her, and I hope that they do not buy a bunny for poor little Benjamin. The actress is terrific, however. It is the producer Giselle Gonzalez's sister, right? Well, she is doing a spectacular job here in her own right as this antagonist- I already hate her!

Veronica and Adrian deserve both one another, and a special place in hell, very deep. They both obviously love the grifting life, yet I cannot believe that the introduction of this "Pedro" character is simply to give us a quick lesson on "Adrian & Veronica's Guide To Swindling Easy Marks". Is Veronica going to betray Adrian if she finds out Pedro has more $$$$?? Or are both swindlers about to get swindled???
This should be interesting...

As long as Tania is involved in everyone's business, they are all in danger. She is Veronica's pawn, obviously, and I fear for Mario who seems to be genuinely decent.

Andrea makes me want to vomit and fast-forward at the same time. So, vomit while fast-forwarding. Just reading your recap me feel this way, Jarifa so- GOOD ON YOU, my friend!

And can I say, please- that actress needs to wax those eyebrows. Or do something with them. They look like two brown squirrels sitting on her face. (Maybe this is just because I hate the character...)

The actor playing Omar should be a Greek God in a blockbuster Hollywood Epic movie. Or maybe a Marvel Superhero (I don't know, I don't know, I don't watch those movies... but isn't he what they look like???). He's gorgeous, but also seems to have charm and presence. I hate him!!! (lol)

David and Susana are the consummate professionals... what a great couple they are going to make, I think. And that little boy is just adorable!

We are in for a fun ride I think, my friends!

Now going to bed.

Eliete in the other SF

Jarifa, thank for a great recap of this fun (for me anyway) episode.

I really feel poor Chente's pain. Olga has the hots for him and plans to win him, whatever it takes. Terrible, terrible, terrible   :-)

Actually, it is. She had no respect for his marriage and doesn't care about his son. So, no, just pretty poison. Really too bad.

I thought Chente was rather hard on poor Natalia with his overly serious teasing, not especially nice.

Jarifa, why was Natalia a smart woman for electing to wash the dishes? I don't get it.

I've said a few times that I like Tavo, and I do, but it's time to stop lying to his wife. Are he and Chole going to wind up living in a shipping carton under a bridge or what? Unless it's actually that bad and he doesn't have even a few pesos in his own name, it's time to talk honestly.

Adrián, Veronica, and Tania... ugh. And poor Mario is having a tough time surviving in prison.

Andy

Jarifa: Howdy from the Alamo City. Good job on the recap of last night's episode.

OMG Olga is annoying!

Andy: More connivance from the Brats & Buji folks I see.

Steve Boudreaux

Jarifa, another amazing recap. I have to watch this later today but your sassy, smart details were sensational.

“bratty Andrea (also another dunderhead very similar to Olga)” was my favorite line of many.

"Donde pisa leona no deja huella gata." – thank you!

“She asks where he was or better yet where have his head and heart been”. How much more asphyxiation can their relationship take? Where is Tavo’s self respect? "I like Tavo, and I do, but it's time to stop lying to his wife" - completely agree Andy! Surely he doesn’t believe a word Connie says, she was already proven a liar by her “friends”. He has a chance for happiness, for a real life with someone who loves him. Yet, he stays. Connie needs to be alone with her best friend, bitterness.

“ best of all he dances like a god” love it.

“tira misu, royal matcha cake, mont blanc, and a fig tart” my mouth is watering.

I briefly watched as “Pedro tells "Javier" that he envies him having a woman like "Antonella". Why do I have a strong suspicion that it is not Adrian who is manipulating the situation, but Pedro?

And Olga's planning Benja not get better? I shudder to think how she plans to accomplish that.

Excellent Jarifa, thank you!

Diana

Jarifa, thank you for every detail as our tale spins forward.

Olga....QTH...she is obsessed and delusional wandering up to Chente's bedroom , flipping on the lights, and yelling at C and N. She acts like she owns the place . Sticking her tongue out at Benjy shows that she isnt as mature as he is . Let's hope there are no boiling bunnies in this show. Let's hope that Genius sweet mother stays close and protects him from Olg. Remember Patrick Swayze's character in "Ghost" hovering close to protect his wife.

Andrea is as panicked as Olga about losing a guy. She was hanging onto Omer like her life depended in it ...and her spoiled, rich girl life does depend On him now. He looks embarrassed most of the time . However, his parents are not going to like Andrea rolling into that apartment , and I thought Omer was going to go to England to study.

Eliete, your comments were interesting and insightful . It would be great to see Very and Adrian getting a taste of their own bitter medicine on the other side of grift.

Thanks, everyone, for dropping by the patio and adding to the fun. What an enjoyable episode it was!

Hey, Eliete from the “other SF.” That made me smile. Yes, we are getting the “Fatal Attraction” vibe with Olga. Something is wrong in that noggin’. I am concerned now for Ben with her revealing her latest thoughts. It seemed that before, Chente was aware that Ben was uncomfortable around Olga. Let’s hope he hasn’t forgotten.

Andy, the dishwashing thing is my own reaction. Never having or wanting a dishwasher, washing dishes (not drying) is always the primo position IMHO. I like Tavo, too, and hope that he and Chole don’t “end up living in a shipping carton under a bridge.” If he were smart, he would have squirreled some money away at the shop or opened a bank account in his name only. I didn’t think the teasing was really funny either.

Steve, yes, Olga is very annoying as is Andrea and a whole bunch of others!

Diana, “Connie needs to be with her own best friend, bitterness.” Perfection! It wouldn’t surprise me if Pedro were calling the shots and if the currency is “Antonella.” “Javier” “the groom” and the “bride”both seemed open to it. Sick.

Susanlynn, I cannot wait until Omar’s parents find out their little Omar is engaged to Andrea. Maybe they can rescue him from such a nasty fate. He seems like too nice of a guy for her.

Great recap Jarifa. Thank you.

Olga gets more obsessed and evil. Thinking to hinder any progress Benja makes. The whole neighborhood will turn on her.

Pedro is a hunk and I had visions of Veronica leaving Adrian for him without any incentive but the yacht.
Mario needs to wise up to his sister. Though it was hard to believe she would do that to her own brother. Looks like she’ll be leaving the country soon!

Andrea deserves an early miserable marriage. But I don’t think it will come to that.

Eliete

I enjoyed your astute comments on Tavo and especially this: "We, obviously, are going to be presented with a character who has two choices- evil, emasculating, rich, shrew wife... OR take a chance on HOT, sexy, good-hearted, humble, amiga-del-barrio who would give the shirt off her back to anyone and do anything for YOU???"

Very well stated.

And a warm welcome to the patio.

Diana

Jarifa- you covered it and Olga was a real suffocating female . You got that scene so well!!

For some reason I greatly disliked the bit where Natalia says Andrea is a woman now. maybe it is because it was brought up in the context of sex. Who would Andrea be according to N if she had not had sex. Women like Olga are a mystery to me because they do not seem to realize how pathetic their behaviour is. Andrea vs Regina plot feels too much like a fairytale. I hope they make Regina a bit more interesting.

Thank you Jarifa for the great recap! And thanks for helping to clear up my questions about the house ownership the other day!

Olga needed to be flying back out of that house on the broom that brought her. How can Chente put up with her behavior at all? Once the yelling started, drunk or not, that’s the end. Isn’t there a saying about drunks & children tell the truth? Out of his life entirely and that includes schlepping into the house to lounge on the furniture!

Natalia might need to clue in Omar’s parents to this latest news. Omar needs his “distance” learning and Andrea needs a job in the real world as well as her school. Right now he’s unable to think clearly with her nagging pressure. Hope she isn’t preggers…

So far I still can’t watch Tavo & Connie. Chole needs to end up with Mario-if he continues to seem genuine-he’ll need someone kind to get a new start..

I kind of think this Pedro guy & Vero might have known each other b4 this latest encounter. I agree with whoever above said “who’s manipulating who?”
SaraAnne

Diana, "Connie needs to be alone with her best friend, bitterness." This is exactly right and also made me laugh. Thank you!

Adrián, Veronica, and Tania are sick individuals who seem to attract other sick individuals. How was Natalia married to Adrián for 20 years without suspecting anything?
The novela seems to occasionally want to "humanize" Adrián a bit, with his phone calls "home", but I'm not sure if this is better or worse.

Andy

Jarifa, thank you so much for your recap, I missed most of the episode last night so this really helped.

If Veronica is super wealthy and Adrian made off with investor money why are they so in need of Pedro's money?

Also, how are he and Veronica so stupid as to believe that they are married when they USED FAKE DOCUMENTS?! Bro, that's not how any of this works.

Why is Tania so eager to screw over her own brother? Is it to win points with Veronica? I for one am totes confused.

JARIFA...Thanks so much for including "donde pisa leona, no deja huella gata." So true. But what Olga doesn't realize is that Natalia is "la leona". She is fiery when she needs to be, has a lot of grit and resilience, not to mention some serious talent in the kitchen. All Olga has is that incredible body and lots of nail polish. Not happen' honey.

Wow, we had a bad feeling about Tania, but now we see that she is keeping all of Mario's money for herself and planning to leave him in the lurch as she runs off to join Veronica. Yikes. Worst sister ever!

Enjoyed the teasing scene between Chente and Natalia. Yeah, I bit until he said "bailar como un dios" and that was so out there I knew he was putting her on. Just nice to see them laughing together afterwards.

As for Andrea, oh my, so many mistakes. And forgive me for being cynical, but given that this is a modern story, I did have a hard time believing that Natalia waited to have sex until marriage. That does not seem typical today, and it was not typical 20 years ago. But good for her. Surprised though that sly old Adrian was willing to wait.

Anyway, greatly enjoyed the recap and everyone's comments. Tavo is a good soul, and therefore feels very guilty for not giving Constanza the love she says she needs, and the children she says she craves. It's all a lie, but good-hearted people are easy to fool.

Thanks Ms. JARIFA, hard-working recapper and dishwasher (putting one's hands in warm, soapy water can feel GLORIOUS during these cold winter days).

Liz, if only the whole neighborhood would turn on Olga before she does something to Ben. People must notice how she has been hounding Chente for years and that she is a little off.

Jardinera, “suffocating female” says it all about Olga. What a nasty piece of work.

waterlily, yes , that whole sex conversation was very weird. I can see where you are coming from with Natalia labeling Andrea as a woman just because she had sex. Would she ever be a “woman” in Natalia’s eyes if she never had sex? Sounds like something not from the 20th C but maybe the 19th.

SaraAnne, ITA that there is something off with that whole Pedro connection. There always seems to be at least one unexpected pregnancy in these novelas. Will it be Andrea? Someone else? More than one? None? Should be interesting. ; )

PrincessJuju, I think that Adrián and Verónica never have “enough” and that they also enjoy the challenge of the grift. That being said, it doesn’t make them smart as you suggested with the fake ID marriage. As for Tania, she has been setting up and selling out her own brother all along. I, too, wonder why she hates him so. Did mommy or daddy love him best? So many questions. . . . : )

Jarifa- yes! So many, many questions!

Adrian and Veronica do realize their marriage is not valid right? Right?

We have to remember that this novela is set in Mexico where they are still a lot more conservative, that's why the sex conversation sounded odd to some but it's a conversation that as a Latina sounds true to me, and if I'm being honest Natalia took the news much better than any of my friends parents would have, mine would just have killed me, and I'm tiny, they could have buried my body anywhere :/

Princess, I found it odd that Andrea would let anyone in the family know she was having sex to begin with.

Jarifa: I also found it odd as well that Andrea blurted out to everyone that she was having sex.

Jarifa, I think she just wanted to shock Natalia into believing that she's a grown up.

I'm in catch-up mode again; sorry, amigas.

No matter what happens next Chente will not be rid of Vulga anytime soon. As for her line about Benjamin never getting well, I see a sinister plan in the making.

UA: Sounds like Benjamin's NOT going to among the living soon.
