Hercai #91 – Parte 1 de 2
Another short one. I was out all evening.
Blowhard Cihan tells Fusun she has to send Gonul away, and if not… More big threats about wiping the Aslanbey off the face of the earth. [Boy I wish someone would push him off one of those balconies.] He tries the Azra card. She tells him they are already married and who the witnesses were. Of course she picked up that picture Gonul dropped and shows it to Mr. Bad Toupee. I’m surprised the Aslanbey patio didn’t catch on fire with the two of them in the same space.
Nice dancing at the wedding. Azat and Gonul exchange looks and slip out. I’m amazed they actually managed to drive away.
Hazar sulks next door and Handan backs up his pouting.
Firat confides in Azize that he feels that Miran thinks he stabbed him in the back. Azize smiles at him warmly and tells him that time will fix this.
More Dilsah eavesdropping. She overhears Azra on the phone telling Fusun she’s going to come over there after the wedding.
Reyyan looks out over the dancers from a balcony. Dilsah’s hair dye has made her even more evil. She tells Reyyan about her plan for Azra and Miran. She actually wants Reyyan to do something to move this along before she dies. Reyyan snaps at her. She tells her nutty MIL that she needs to see a doctor.
Cihan comes to the wedding with his gun. He fires a shot and then confronts Miran. “Where’s Azat?” Miran tells him that Azat left to begin a new life. Cihan goes into his old song about Miran wanting to be the heir. Recently lobotomized Hazar actually tells Miran he shouldn’t have let a 30 plus year old man get married and leave the hornet’s nest.
Reyyan was being held back by Mahfuz but she steps forward and gets in Cihan’s face. She tells him Gonul and Azat left quietly to avoid just such an awful scene as this one. Miran then tells Bad Toupee that Azat did the right thing getting far away from his father. He gets a sock in the jaw from Cihan for this bit of truth. Miran jumps right up and hits him back.
Fusun, the black widow spider, wants news from her goon about all the trauma she caused. Mahmoud wins the Battle of the Goons hands down and subdues Fusun’s main guy. Whoa! Azize walks purposefully toward Fusun, kicks her cane away, and gets inches from her face.
Hercai #91 – Parte 2 de 2
Hazar rags on Miran for not telling HIM about the elopement. [Like you’ve ever been successful in any of these brouhahas, Hazard.]
Azize tells Fusun that, if she harms Nasuh, Hazar or Miran, she’ll burn her alive in this very mansion. They snarl at each other some more and Fusun opines that either she’ll kill Azize or Azize will kill her.
Cihan and Handan talk. She has a moment of lucidity, asking why their child wanted to leave. But he insists he’ll get him back. [This whole thing is absurd. Adults marry people all the time that their parents don’t necessarily warm to. Are they trying to say that in Turkey Cihan could get away with bringing Azat back like a 10 year old who ran away from home?]
Reyyan finally grows a spine (instead of avocados, but maybe she has those as well). She tells Dilsah she’s not afraid of her. “If this is your sympathy for your son and his family, I’ll behave differently. Don’t dream in vain because nothing you said on the patio will happen. If you keep this up, you’ll leave this house before I do. Even if it costs me my relationship with Miran, I’ll tell him everything you’ve done and said. Because, if he doesn’t know his mother now, he’ll be angrier in the future.” This wipes the smirk off of Dilsah’s face.
I’m finding it weird how Miran’s behavior is so much better without bangs. He didn’t put a foot wrong at the wedding. He didn’t start the quarrel with Cihan. After he and Reyyan are alone, he jokes about a 4th wedding to fix things.
When Rey tentatively asks if he’d ever love someone else, he more than assures her she’s his one and only love.
They say they’ll sleep under some stars projected on the ceiling of their bedroom. And, oh boy, here comes another creepy dream with everyone dressed in white. At first Reyyan, Miran and Umut are happy in the street. Then she sees Umut being carried off by Dilsah, all in black. She wakes up and says to herself that she won’t let them take Umit. She hasn’t died yet. She gets up and goes to the swing, singing to Umut, while Zehra looks on.
We get another Cihan rant, while Hazar tries to calm him. Nasuh tells him how badly he’s behaving. He gets a call, probably something about the location of Gonat, but we don’t find out what he heard.
Since my comment was the second to last in the previous page and I don't want it to look like I didn't thank Adriana for the recap of Wednesday's episode, I'll copy-paste it here. :)
Splendid recap, Adriana!
The whole Romina storyline is starting to be slightly tiring. The only thing me and her agree on is that Jimena will/should leave Óscar when she finds out the truth. (If this sounds odd to you, you might have missed my thought process/reasoning on the Óscar thing in my previous post. I talked on and on and I concluded with: "I should have put redeemable in double quotation marks. I lowered my standards because of telenovela logic. If this happend irl I wouldn't have forgiven him. If we let the illogical logic of telenovelas aside, I agree with Darcy and (was it Adriana? I think so.)." Should have specified that from the start, actually...
Demetrio is simply, a psychopath.
Ghoulish Gunther is here again. I was so happy when I saw him. NOT.
Lol, I can imagine Darcy's reaction when Rosario saw JD's badge. It must have went like: Wow, so unexpected, I definitely didn't predict that 5.000.000.000 years ago. XD
Thank you Juanita and Novelera for your previous recaps! It helps me so much in the catch up department, and of course in enjoying the story only in that special way that you recappers can tell it ! The comments are great too!
Cihan, Cihan, Cihan! I swear that man has a premature vagina! He is such BABYPUSS! I can’t stand him and his never ending “ If you don’t do want I want, Ima cause trouble for you!” “Watch out cause you’re my enemy!” So what Cihan! Take your threats and blow them out your you know where! You and Fusun obviously attended the same school of threats! So over you two! Like REALLY!
Azize can also sell those “wolf tickets,” lol, and I really wish she wouldn’t go there with Fusun. Just summon up your old powers of evil Azize, and give Fusun the element of surprise like you used to do to with everyone else! Why have a spar of useless words with that gasbag?!? So redundant!!! But I was surprised, and relieved that Firat does have a hidden agenda! I’ve always admired that Firat stays true to character even though Miran does need to show him more respect. They know Miran so well!!
Loved the wedding though Dirty Dilsah, Hazard, and Cihanna spoiled it for me. Was glad that Reyyan reclaimed her inner “fierce” and gave Dirty Dilsah something to chew on! And you’re right novelera, her new dye job, makes her look more sinister, lol. You’d think she’d be trying to steal Hazard from Zehra, not tormenting Reyyan????? I am digging Zehra too, though! She may have been a late bloomer in letting Nasuh beat the crap out of Reyyan, but nobody better eff with Reyyan now! Zehra ain’t having it!
Lololololol! Miran is more human and caring without the bangs! Did he have bangs as a little boy? I don’t remember most of those scenes of him as a boy, but if he had bangs, that’s from whence the anger comes!
Glad Azat and Gonul got away! For a minute there, I didn’t think that they would either. I thought for sure that Cihanna would get there just in time in his screeching car and jump out with guns a blazing!!! He treats Azat like chump junior. Shame they had to run, but I do believe that Azat would’ve fought like hell this time for Gonul. Wonder if they left to go on their real honeymoon?????
And yes, they need to cut it with the “creepy” dreams and give us some happy ones!!!
Thanks again novelera! Thank you recappers each and everyone!! You are APPRECIATED!
“How could he do this to me, that bastard !”
Still holding JD’s badge, Rosario remembers her night of passion with JD and her fights with her daughter, wonders if Muriel is aware of the whole truth. Gunther comes to get her to eat. First she says no, then she changes her mind.
Eric and Leon are still in Nino’s barrio, knocking on his door. The woman from the first time answers and asks for some cash to take care of their car.
In the courtyard Nino tells the kids to go inside, which they do just in time for Don Emilio to receive the twins. Nino is nervous with the sudden visit, admits to being a bit paranoid. He says he’s not afraid of the cops, but other people who want to harm him. Don E is happy to see all the gifts, just like the other time.
Eric tells Nino that all they want to do is help them get out of this place. He assures them that their family wants to help, too and Don E is in favor of Nino listening to them. Nino would do anything for his family, but needs to think things through. Eric says they could live in one of the Reyes ranches and work for them. Nino says he has some things to finish before, or else he might get them in trouble as well.
Then the twins mention Adela, but Nino has never heard this name. Don E does know of a couple that arrived recently from San Marcos and lives in Dona Fermina’s house. Eric wants to go straight away, Don E offers to go with, he might be able to help.
Demetrio talks about Nino not being that great of a thief when he worked for them. But he did manage to win Gaby over, how did he manage that? Where did he meet her? Only to imagine all that Nino does to her that he can’t just yet… He almost got him in the hospital, they should have found out where he lived in the past, but they never gave him much importance. And now the only one who’d know is Gaby.
Rosario comes downstairs to eat, asks Muriel about her dancing routine. Then they talk about Muriel visiting Sara, since they’ve become such good friends. Muriel says she hasn’t been there recently, but she’d love to. She tries not to upset her mother, but she won’t stay locked up either. And Rosario should do the same, go out a bit. Rosario thinks this is a great idea.
Don E takes Leon to Dona Fermina, saying he’s a relative who searches for a place to live. Dona F only has one room, but the previous tenants left it in a very bad shape. Don E asks about them, he actually knew the young woman, Adela. Dona F says they left a couple of weeks ago in a rush. Leon asks what the man’s name was, but Dona F says she doesn’t remember. She’d love to allow them to see the room, but for now it’s very dirty. Dona F only agrees to allow Don E to go inside, Leon can come back in 8 days if he’s still interested.
Later Don E tells Leon that Dona F doesn’t trust foreigners. Leon wonders if she lied and those people still lived there. But no, Don E found a small receipt in the room, and it has Adela’s name on it.
Eric is waiting for his brother and is worried because they’re not back yet. Nino says Dona F lives far away, asks who the people they are looking for are. Not exactly friends, Eric says, but they need them to solve a problem. Nino asks the girl and the young boy to come and Eric is very happy to see them, he remembers them well. Tells Nino they need a better place to live, Nino agrees, but they can talk about this later, in private. When they are alone Eric tells Nino his sister is beautiful, Nino says everyone feels the same, that’s why it’s so hard taking care of her.
Sarita and Andres come to visit Jimena. Duvan is around, hiding in the bushes.
Jimena is very happy to see Andres, and congratulates him for his success at Bar Alcala. Sarita has come to ask what is going on with Gaby and Jimena says that Oscar told her the truth and she thinks they should know it, too. She tells him about the guy on the moto, they all agree he could be more dangerous than the harasser. They think this has to be about Nino, Andres thinks Gaby has to start thinking about her safety.
At the same time this conversation is taking place, Duvan is sneaking inside the house, and manages to steal Jimena’s keys.
Rosario has come to pay another house call to JD. Adan greets her, tells her where JD is and Rosario goes straight for him. She finds JD in the stables office, says she came for a visit to ask why he’s being so indifferent. Nobody has ever treated her like this, what does he intend to do? JD has no time for her, which infuriates Rosario, who pushes him inside. She thinks she’s acting stupid like any woman who’s in love would. JD thinks this has to be an obsession or a whim, but it’s not love, so she better stop hurting herself. Rosario asks him to admit they have a serious relationship, which JD can’t do. He apologizes for what happened, doesn’t even know why it did happen, but it’s over. She asks him not to treat her like a desperate woman, he says it’s her own behavior that makes her come across as one. This infuriates Rosario even more, she slaps him. JD grabs her, screams for her to leave and pushes her away, but she basically jumps on him, kissing him and undressing him at the same time.
Juan arrives just then and orders JD to go away while he deals with this woman.
Adan tells Norma Rosario is here, she came for JD.
Juan takes off his shirt and tells Rosario if she cares to find a man so much, why not look for a real man, like him, not a kid. JD is walking out, getting dressed, under Norma’s terrified eyes.
Rosario says she’s not afraid of him, Juan asks her to prove she’s not afraid. He will show her how he handles women like her. Then he forces himself on her, ripping open her blouse and kissing her violently, while Rosario screams and tries to push him away. Norma walks in just then, holding her whip. She snaps if several times, getting Juan to stop and notice her. As Norma runs away in shock, Juan looks terrified of what his wife just witnessed. Rosario slaps him, but he has no more time for her, he goes after his wife. Rosario falls down to the floor, crying.
A man comes to help her, but she chases him away, asking him not to touch her.
JD has come to the house, he looks frazzled, can’t answer Quintina’s questions. He sees Norma walk by in a hurry, followed by Juan. JD goes after them, wanting to talk to his parents, but this is bigger than him. Norma gets in her room and locks the door before Juan can reach her.
Rosario drives away, remembering the forced kiss in horror. She almost hits another car, notices that she’s hurt her lip.
Juan is still knocking on the door, asking for Norma to open. He tries to explain he only wanted to give Rosario a lesson. While Norma cries and screams inside, he explains that sometimes he has to use methods that she doesn’t like, but he only wanted to treat Rosario how she was treating their son.
JD arrives, says he will have time to talk to his mom later.
Eric and Leon think their visit didn’t help much, but at least they know that Adela and that guy are gone. Don E invites them to taste some of his food. Eric is especially happy to see Civila’s smile. They will do everything in their power to help them get out if this place. Don E can’t wait for that to happen, Nino assures him that day will come.
Juan and JD are drinking and talking. JD wants Juan to tell Norma that he was to blame, but Juan thinks this all started because of Rosario, and he made things worse. She might even accuse him with the cops. JD doesn’t understand what happened. ut Juan says the problem is Norma does know what happened, she might start to doubt him.
JD thinks everything is his fault, he should have told them about the problems he was having with this woman. Juan says Rosario only brings trouble, but what happened now can have serious repercussions for all of them.
Romina scolds Duvan for not coming home straight from school. Duvan says he misunderstood, he went to his father’s house. Romina says there will be no food for him tonight, but Duvan then gives him the keys, which wins him a rare hug and kiss from his mother.
She even prepares him his favorite food. Duvan explains that Jimena never saw him, neither did Berta. Romina asks him not to say he took the keys. She assures him she means no harm with the keys, she just needs them for when they will be able to go to his father’s house without hiding.
Norma is still in her room, this time JD is knocking, asking to talk, everything was a confusion. But she can’t stop remembering the kiss she witnessed.
Sarita and Andres have come for Gaby at school. They want her to go to the police, but Gaby has no proof, the cops will say she’s crazy; Sarita asks Andres to go to work, so he does, after asking his sister to start trusting her family.
The twins are on their way back, telling Oscar on the phone they couldn’t find out much. Jimena calls next to ask about some keys she lost. But Oscar doesn’t have them.
Eric tells Leon Oscar couldn’t have handled things better today, they will explain him how they did everything they could.
Don M and Quintina wonder what is going on. Norma in her room, JD the same, Juan has disappeared and the twins aren’t even back yet. And Adan mentioned Rosario has been at the ranch. Don M thinks this has to do with her.
Rosario asked Panchita to come for her, but Panchita also brought Muriel. She sees her mom is hurt and asks what happened.
I received this message from Judy’s daughter—I know you will be sending Judy prayers, good vibes and good thoughts—
Hi, this is Julie, Judy Backoff’s daughter. We wanted to let you know that she had a stroke and is in Riverside Hospital. She’s got a lot of recovery to do and, as you can imagine, she hates not being up and about but is stable and progressing well.
OK, this was some kind of episode!
First, Gaby! She's getting on my last nerves with her worry for Nino while she is the one being followed around town by shady people. With a rapist/ serial murderer on the loose...
Poor Duvan, I hope his mother is run over by wild horses and he gets to live with someone better. He couldn't do much worse than his mommy dearest. I just hope the show won't try to push us into believeing that Jimena might agree to adopt him and raise him with Oscar, after she finds out the truth. Alone, sure, I'm all for it, but if Oscar doesn't confess fast to every last one of his lies and betrayals, he doesn't deserve Jimena.
I don't condone violence towards women, but Rosario kind of had it coming, right? I was actually happy to see how bad she felt after, but I'm not sure she fully got Juan's message/ lesson.
And he might have bigger worries now, after Norma witnessed the whole thing. Sure, he has an explanation, but will she be able to just forgive and forget? I mean, the other day he was jealous over some dancing and flirting, but he never addressed any of his problems with his wife of 20 years, why should Norma listen to anything he has to say now? Because he was trying to teach that woman a lesson as opposed to just enjoying her company? I don't know...
Something else I found interesting: if this is how Juan acts when he does get involved in an issue, than maybe it's better that he's rather passive - maybe that's why it always looks like Norma is controlling him - because an out of control Juan is capable of almost raping a woman in broad daylight just to prove a point.
Oh well, another daisies and rainbows episode. What's next, a tornado? A mob boss rents the ranch next to the Reyes lands? A bomb in the Mayors' residence? Nothing seems off limits and nothing is.
Novelera, thank you for a fun review of the continuing hysterics as the writers try to figure out where this train is going to finally stop....please ...just ...stop.
I'd say that there is no way the writers would kill off the leading lady , but I have watched several Turkish dizis ...no one is safe . However, I think Rey will survive .
Hopefully the actors who play Azat and Gonul actually got to escape on their own happy honeymoon.
Wow...remember how Mir spent every episode sobbing and yelling about being separated from his mom . Well, this is a great example of "be careful what you wish for". Mom is a monster. We didn't have to worry about Hazard being forced to choose between his one true love and Zerha, the girl he settled for .....because Dilsah hardly seems to care that Hazard is alive. It's all about getting her kids hitched . Are parents in Turkey really that influential in matching their kids with the parents' idea of proper spouses? As parents, Hub and I had no vote in our kids' choices of boyfriends or spouses.
Azize and Fus continue the battle of the bodyguards with Mahmoud always winning . Mahmoud is the MVP. Two old broads with money to employ minions to carry out their stupid threats. Geez. So tired of these two power hungry biddies.
(((Judyb)))....My dear amiga, you are in my thoughts and prayers . Sending you love, prayers, and good vibrations for a speedy and complete recovery. xoxoxoxo.
OT: I'm new here, so I don't know JudyB, but I hope she has a quick recovery. Sending good vibes both to her and to Julie!
Pasión: Great recap, Adriana!
If the writers want to have the three main couples to break up, they are doing a terrific job! Franco is gone, Óscar cheated on Jimena and has been lying to her for years and now Juan kissed Rosario?!
I unfortunately had seen the kiss on the Avance for the episode. So, Juan is jealous because Norma danced with Albín (I think this is his name), but now kisses Rosario? And she wants Norma to hear him? I agree with Adriana. He doesn't want to listen to Norma, but he wants Norma to listen to him.
Romina... Honestly... I have no words.
I think JD should have told Muriel about that night with Rosario. I hope she doesn't tell her daughter first, Muriel won't trust JD for a long time...
Another excellent recap Adriana and you said it perfectly: 'Oh well, another daisies and rainbows episode. What's next, a tornado? A mob boss rents the ranch next to the Reyes lands? A bomb in the Mayors' residence?'
This is a mess! I was hoping when I saw the preview for this it would be another dream sequence but sadly no! It happened, and it was ugly!!!
In a way I get Juan's point and I agree Rosario was looking for it. In theory, it's reasonable to give Rosario a taste of her own medicine but in practice it was brutal! I wouldn't go as far as saying Juan almost raped Rosario, but Rosario was definitely headed that direction with JD trying to undress him even after he said no several times.
This is so disturbing from Norma's perspective though for all the reasons you mentioned. Even if you believe his story, it is clearly bad judgment and you'd have to wonder how many such lessons he's taught in the past? And what will he do next?
Like you said: 'maybe that's why it always looks like Norma is controlling him...' Exactly!!! Wow!!! It was just ugly
I agree about Gabby!! Her concern for Nino is becoming too all-consuming and we now know 1000% that serial killer stalker is obsessed with her! The way he talked about wondering what Nino gets to do to Gabby was so disturbing! This dude isn't interested in Sarita, he wants Gabby. ICK! YUCK! ICKY ICKY YUCK!!!
Wow, novelera, I loved your concise and delightful recap!
I too wish that someone, anyone!, would push Blowhard Cihan (aka Bad Toupee) off the balcony. He has become insufferable (although, alas, he's far from the only one).
Fusun, of course, is one of Cihan's chief rivals in insufferability. Several days ago, I thought that Fusun had casually noticed but not picked up the wedding photo that had dropped to the floor in Gonul's room. Silly me!
I greatly enjoyed your characterization of "Blowhard Cihan" (aka "Bad Toupee"), "black widow spider" Fusun, and, especially, "recently lobotomized Hazar."
Enough already with these creepy dreams! I'm surprised Reyyan was willing to wear a white wedding dress, given how eerie her white nightmares (and Miran's) have been. (I'm also astonished she was able to find a wedding gown that fit, since she's supposedly well along in her pregnancy.)
I'm glad that Reyyan has rediscovered her strong, gutsy self. Her wussy, teary, smiley self was getting on my nerves. Hmmm...a few days ago, novelera, you commented that Cihan was bi-polar. I might say the same thing about Reyyan. Indeed, it seems true of several characters. In addition to Cihan and Reyyan, Azize, Dilsah, Hazar, and Harun come to mind. Perhaps Miran as well. I get dizzy trying to follow their changes.
And yes, I too find it ludicrous that Cihan thinks he can and should bring the 30-something Azat back as if he were "a 10 year old who ran away from home." I just hope Azat and Gonul succeed in getting away.
Many thanks, novelera, for this great recap!
WOW recap Adriana! Just WOW! I’d like to thank both you and Darcy for your “on point” recaps, and your comments that bring everything together and really hit home! There are days that I’m unavailable to comment, but your comments are so close to exactly what I’m feeling!
Juan is a slow boil, but once you get him to his point of no return, everyone, including Norma gets burned. And I agree that maybe the twins confiding in him would have unforeseen consequences all their own. Yet, I don't know if Rosario would’ve gotten the message any other way??? She imposes her will on JD even when it’s clear that he doesn’t seek her out or wants any kind of anything with her. JD tried to maintain himself and control the situation as best as he could, but clearly he’s out of his league with Rosario. She’s emotionally broken and abused, and probably has no idea that she herself has become abusive. The way she went off on Muriel the day before shows just how much on the edge she really is. Still it’s hard for me to be compassionate where she’s concerned. Maybe when we meet her husband, we will be able to understand her more.
I’m with you all regarding Gabby. Her tunnel vision regarding Nino is going to cause problems. She’s too reckless, and it bothers me that, even though they’re young, they’re also incapable of reasoning out what the consequences of their recklessness will and can do. I don’t know if the point here is to make them learn from experience, but look at Gabriella who hasn’t learned jack from her previous experience. And if Oscar is the voice and conscience of reason, EVERYBODY is doomed! Lol. I also think that Erick’s obvious interest in Sibila is currently troublesome, ( by the way Nino looked at him) and if the twins do get them to move to San Marcos, Sibila may also become a victim of Demetrio……..
Speaking of Demetrio, there is nothing that you can do with that puppy except put him out of his —— and everybody else’s misery.. I hate that characters have to be so, so dark and evil. Same for Romina…… I’m already muting her voice every time she’s onscreen…..and Demetrio’s next……
My heart did go out to Norma though……..she doesn’t even know that her dancing and “innocent” flirting with Albin also helped Juan go over the limit……..
Thanks again Adriana!!!

I haven't been in digital attendance on the Uni pages for quite some time now so I haven't seen many of her comments, but I have so many fond memories of them.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and wishes for Judy. I will be copying them and sending them to her daughter so she can read them to Judy.
I haven’t had the pleasure of sharing a patio with JudyB but I’ve read her posts and I know she is a very loved and valuable part of Caray. I’m sending my best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hope to see her back soon.
Before I post my Friday recap, I want to thank novelera for being a trooper and providing two wonderful recaps in a row. Sorry I had no time to comment yesterday.
And I loved watching Cihan knock down Miran and I enjoyed the replay in last night's intro, too.
Cihan gets a call and takes off without telling Hazar, Nasuh and viewerville what’s going on.
Cut to ReyMir’s bedroom and first thing I noticed is the bangs are back. Miran is awake and I think he’s trying to tease the sleeping Rey with a piece of her hair. There’s a knock at the door and Lutfu and Asiye have left a nice breakfast on a cart for ReyMir to enjoy.
There’s also a letter on the cart that’s addressed to Reyyan Sadoglu from ÖSYM. I looked that up and according to Wikipedia, “ÖSYM is the body responsible for organizing the national level university entrance examination” and some other exams. Miran hides the envelope underneath the placemat. And he tucks a flower into Rey’s hair which wakes her. They have a conversation about going on a honeymoon. She doesn’t want to go. He also tells her he has a surprise for her—a piece of paper that will make her very happy. She thinks back to ripping up the doc she signed at the hospital and looks uneasy.
Cihan and Fusun meet up in the middle of nowhere. [I am so tired of these two, I hardly have the energy to recap this.] Cihan is ticked at her because of the Azat/Gonul situation. Not sure what game he thinks she’s playing. But it seems like Fusun doesn’t care if Azat and Gonul stay away. She’s picking her battles and has decided this is not one of them. She tells Cihan, your son is your problem.
ReyMir look at pics from the wedding. Rey comes across one with smiling Miran, Dilsah and Azra. She rips it up and tells Miran that the pic was blurry. He asks if she is upset about yesterday and the scene Cihan caused. He thinks that Cihan will get over it in time. Inshallah. He senses that something else might be wrong and asks. She thinks to herself, I want to tell you everything, but I don’t know how.
The breakfast is interrupted by a knock at the door with Dilsah barging right in. She gives a meaningless apology for intruding and asks if she could speak with Miran. She was impatient waiting for him to come downstairs, so she came up (to Reyyan’s dismay). Miran tells her he’ll be right there and Dilsah goes.
Dilsah and Azra are waiting for Miran and when he arrives, she tells her kids she called them there for a good reason. I decided to apologize to Reyyan, she says, and I’d like to plan a small surprise. Something Reyyan will really like. [I’ll bet!] She needs the two of them to help and they look ready willing and able. We don’t hear anything else about the plan.
Back to Cihan and Fusun. Cihan threatens, if anything happens to my son, I’ll destroy you and your mansion. Fusun answers he should be confronting Miran about this. He’s the one who sent your son away. He was a witness at the wedding and encouraged him to leave. Before Cihan takes his leave she tells him she’s not his enemy like the rest of the Sadoglus have been.
Reyyan and Miran cross paths as he heads back to the room. He fibs and tells Rey that his mom was concerned about what happened last night and she wants him to take care. We see Dilsah peeking around the corner, eavesdropping. She hears Rey ask, what’s going on with that doctor? Miran replies the doctor said he will let them know when he’s coming from Istanbul. Rey worries that Miran will misunderstand her intention in reminding him. No worries, he tells her. He goes in and Rey walks, noticing Dilsah scurrying away.
Zehra calls for Reyyan outside the Hopeless Mansion. Zehra is very upset with her daughter. She’s made an appointment for Reyyan for a second opinion. And she adds, if we don’t find a cure here, we’ll go to Istanbul. Reyyan resists but Zehra is adamant. You forgot that you’re a daughter because you’re only thinking of your son. Don’t do this, Zehra pleads, if you care about me, you won’t. A mother hearing her daughter is going to die tears her soul apart. She has no intention of siting idly by and watching Rey die. Zehra cries. Rey gives in.
One of the workers bring Handan a letter from Azat.
Reyyan wants her mom to promise if this doctor says the same thing, don’t keep pushing. Zehra snaps back, how can I promise? Don’t force me to do that. Hazar comes out on the street and notices them. He turns away, ignoring Reyyan and asks for his car.
Rey asks her father why he is ignoring her. He doesn’t want to talk and tells her, just go with your mother. Rey presses and Hazar answers with a question, what do you want me to say? You hug Azize at your wedding and treat her like your grandmother. You completely ignored my feelings on this matter. He says he knows his daughter well. You don’t like it when there are resentments and when others are unhappy, so you forgive everything.
Miran appears on the street and comes over. Hazar starts in with Miran saying he’s the same as Rey. Hazar claims to understand them, but adds, forgiving is one thing, and embracing her (Azize) is something else. You see Azize as your grandmother, but I don’t. Hazar shouts for his car. Dilsah has been looking and listening from the mansion above. She says to her crazy self, so you’re going to kick me out of this house, Reyyan?
Hazar continues, I said my piece. Case closed. Let’s not continue. Zehra accuses him of being the one who can’t let go. He’s setting a poor example and getting annoyed with his children, citing, you know better than anyone what they’ve been through. She warns her husband, be careful of what you say, you might regret it. Not today, but one day your daughter…. Rey interrupts and pulls Zehra back. Hazar wants her to finish that sentence. What were you going to say about my daughter?
Now Miran steps in. Everything Zehra Hanım says is correct. Don’t be so hard on Reyyan. All that hate only does us harm and nobody else. [is Miran finally learning?] Why do we keep doing this? Hazar gets sarcastic, yes, son, everybody’s right and I’m the one who’s wrong.
Before Hazar can leave, Dilsah throws herself into the mix. What’s wrong, she asks? I can hear Hazar from upstairs. If you’re arguing about Azize, don’t. I can’t take it. Hazar says that Dilsah is the only one who understands me, which elicits surprised look from Zehra. But since she doesn’t think like you about Azize, he continues, we’re the ones who are wrong. You make me look inconsiderate. He tells Miran, you know that this also affects your mother.
Dilsah says, if Azize is the reason you’re arguing so much, please stop. I don’t want to disturb your peace. I’m…willing to go. Rey looks disgusted. Miran immediately responds, that’s absurd. Hazar tells Dilsah, you’re not going anywhere. Another surprised look from Zehra and Hazar adds, we all know who should leave, but me saying it won’t do any good. She (Azize) is being treated like a queen. Do what you want, I’m leaving, Hazar says. Zehra pleads with Hazar, can’t you see this woman is taking advantage of our compassion? Rey asks her mom to stop. Let’s all calm down, Miran says. Hazar drives away.
Handan cries as she reads Azat’s letter. We don’t hear what he wrote.
Meanwhile, Cihan and his men are asking around town for any info on Azat’s whereabouts. They come up with nothing.
Azra is sitting out on the patio of the Aslanbey konak. Yaren comes out to chat. When Azra asks, how are you, Yaren replies, as well as I can be being locked up in this place. Why, Azra asks, is there a problem? Are you getting regular pregnancy checkups? Yaren says sometimes she has problems, but she can’t tell the doctor about them. Azra probes for more. Yaren tells her, I just don’t feel comfortable. I’m looking for a good doctor I can trust. And I was thinking…. That thought is interrupted by the arrival of Fusun.
The sun has arrived at my house, Fusun happily declares. She gives Azra a hug and Azra says not to make a big deal, they have to talk. Fusun tells Yaren it’s cold outside and tells her to go inside. Yaren’s not cold but she gets the drift from Fusun’s icy stare and gets up to leave. Azra tells Yaren they will talk later. As Yaren walks we hear her whisper, It’s cold on the patio…. I’ll light this whole place up… in flames.
Fusun wants to know why Azra didn’t come directly from the wedding. Was there a problem? You are the problem, Azra replies, you and the trouble you caused at the wedding.
Firat signs a contract with a client, Sadun Bey. Nasuh is the only other one present and says they should have waited for Hazar and Miran. When HazMir arrive, they are not so happy. Miran asks Sadun if he consulted with the other business owners. No, he hasn’t, why? Miran is concerned about unfair competition. Nasuh agrees with Miran. Sadun thinks there is always room for competition in business and this deal will be fruitful.
While we were at the business meeting, Fusun gave Azra additional information on Cihan. She takes the bullets out of her pocket and shows them to Azra. He’s looking for someone to blame and looking in the wrong place, Fusun says. He thinks I’d hurt Azat. I don’t care about that. They are adults and they fell in love. They can do what they want. I don’t care. She drops a bullet into Azra’s hand. I have my daughter now, Fusun tells her, would I do anything to jeopardize this? She warns Azra to stay away from Cihan and Azize and asks her again to move in. You’ll be safer here, she says.
Before she can answer, Azra gets a call from the hospital. Fusun plays with the bullets while she waits. We only hear Azra’s side of the call. Hello sir, did you take a look? She becomes alarmed. Significant symptoms? What did you find? I’ll be right there. She closes the call. I hope it’s nothing, Fusun says. No, Rey… Azra catches herself, then continues, I mean, a patient of mine has an emergency. I have to go to the hospital. She quickly adds, I can’t move in with you right now. I’m not ready. Fusun lets it go and looks sad. Azra leaves.
Sadun shakes Firat’s hand and leaves. Miran simmers. Hazar is ticked and offers a snide congrats to Firat and leaves the room with Nasuh chasing. Miran looks daggers at Firat. It’s only business, Firat tells him. We’re not just a commercial business, we are also a well-respected, trusted company. If we ignore the other owners, we can make money, but we would lose our dignity.
Dignity is your problem, Firat counters, your problem is that you were against this. You don’t want anything to happen with out your supervision, especially when it comes to me. Listen, I’ve never done anything only thinking of my personal or professional life, says Mr. Me-ran. If you think opposite, then either you don’t know me, or I don’t know you. You’re right, Firat says, but we’re about to know. Angrybangs pounds the table with his fist and storms out.
Azra meets with the doctor. He’s looked at Rey’s results and tells her, your suspicions about the triggering factors were correct. Her illness and high-risk pregnancy are even more dangerous due to her being poisoned and subsequently suffering a miscarriage. This is a very serious situation. Azra is stunned.
Miran is driving and trying to get in contact with Rey. He calls Lutfu, who tells him Rey just returned from the hospital with Zehra. They were in low spirits. Concerned Miran asks, the hospital? Lutfu says that’s what he knows. Miran demands to know where Rey is now. In her room with her mother, Lutfu replies.
Mr. Bad Toupee [thanks, novelera] is still wandering around town looking for clues. Nothing. Cihan gets a call from Handan. He doesn’t let her speak and tells her, Miran better pray I find him [guess he means Azat.] He hangs up.
Zehra tells Rey, you heard the doctor, stop being so stubborn. Rey asks, I’m stubborn for wanting to have my baby? Zehra reminds her, you are ignoring your life and health. You promised, Rey says, you wouldn’t give me a hard time if this doctor said the same. You heard the doctor, Zehra replies, this is worse than you think and you…. Miran comes into the room without knocking and asks, what happened? Why are you back so early, Rey asks? I was worried, you weren’t answering, he says. Then he asks, what did the doctor say that’s worse than you thought? Why did you go to the doctor anyway?
Rey fumbles with an answer, I was going to tell you…. Zehra jumps in to save her, we went because of me. Zehra explains that she’s been having trouble since she gave birth and asked Reyyan not to tell anyone. It’s a little personal, she adds. Miran backs off Rey. He says he is like Zehra’s son so she can tell him, and they can find a cure. It’s a cyst, she replies, it’s not a big deal. It’s small and I will have an operation soon. I’ll be fine.
Miran asks if Hazar knows. No, I didn’t want to worry him, Zehra answers, don’t tell him. I’ll tell him tonight. Zehra excuses herself to go home to rest, but suspicious Miran stops her. Is there something bigger that you are hiding from me, he asks? Rey denies. What would we be hiding, she asks? Let my mother go rest. There are nervous looks from the women and Miran still seems to be suspicious. He insists on seeing Zehra out. Rey is uneasy.
Dilsah and Azra meet Miran out on the patio. Azra goes off to check on Rey. Dilsah wants to talk with her son. Are you worried about something, he asks? Dilsah starts, no… I don’t want to be a bother but… Miran says she’s not a bother. I’m very frightened, she tells him, those awful things Cihan said to you… his attitude scares me. Miran replies, don’t be scared. He can’t do anything.
Dilsah is worried something will happen to Miran or Azra. Miran assures her, I’ll never let anyone hurt Azra. She asks him to spend more time with Azra. Keep you eyes on her. Don’t leave her alone and don’t forget to take care of yourself, too. I will my dear mother, Miran replies, I won’t let anyone get hurt. Trust me, everything will be fine. The doctor will be here soon for your checkup. Dilsah looks a bit troubled but she says she will do whatever Miran wants. She changes the subject back to Azra. Tell her to stay far away from Cihan and Fusun. He tells her not to worry and that her treatment is important.
Azra checks on Rey. She brings up the baby that Rey lost and asks why she didn’t tell. She asks how did it happen? Rey hesitates. Azra presses, if you don’t tell me everything, I can’t help you. How did it happen? It was poison, Rey replies. Azra starts talking about food poisoning. Rey remains silent and Azra realizes that it was someone who poisoned Rey. Rey doesn’t want to talk about it, but Azra won’t drop it. Who did it? Azra has a more troubling realization… it was Fusun, wasn’t it?
Azra is horrified. What kind of woman is she?! Rey asks Azra to stay calm. Azra asks for more details. Rey explains about the sweets and how Azize showed up at the right time to save Umut’s life and hers. She tells Azra she has the right to be upset. I thought I’d never forgive her for taking my child from me, Rey says, but I was able to forgive her because she also lost a child. I don’t want to keep hate in my heart for anyone. Neither should you.
Azra can’t wrap her head around it. How can I, she tells Rey. You’re sick because of her. You’re sacrificing your life for your son because of that woman. Rey wonders why Azra said this. Azra explains, you’re in this condition because Fusun poisoned you. Reyyan takes a big breath. I’m begging you, Azra says, please talk to Miran soon. I will, Rey replies. Do it now, Azra implores, make a decision asap. You can’t delay, there’s no time. Miran enters the room, again without knocking but he doesn’t hear anything. He just wants to speak with Azra.
Zehra is lamenting her daughter’s fate. There’s got to be a cure, she thinks, I’ll find it. I’ll fix this.
Esma has made rice pudding for Firat, just the way he likes it. She is proud of the way he defended his brother at the wedding. Firat doesn’t eat the pudding. What’s wrong, Esma asks? He replies, every time you open your mouth, you talk about Miran. You act as if we are not mother and son. You never ask about me, if I’m well, if I’m tired. How can you think that, she tells him, you are most important to me. Are you sure, he asks? That day, Zeynep and I came over to tell you we are getting married.
Esma gasps in delight. He continues, and what did you do? We couldn’t tell you after that. You stole our joy. She apologizes and gets up to leave. Firat stops her, apologizes, and gives her a hug. He tells her not to worry. He will call Miran and ask him to be his witness at the wedding. This makes Esma very happy.
Evil Dilsah comes to see Reyyan. AzMir are alone upstairs talking, she informs Rey. They are talking about something important. Did you ask them to, Rey replies. No, Dilsah says, you did this. You joined Azize’s side and chose poorly. There are things you don’t know about Azize, Rey counters, things you don’t understand and never can. Important things. Not that you care.
Dilsah doesn’t care. The child you’re leaving behind will need a mother, she tells Rey, and Azra will make an excellent mother to Umut. You won’t push me away. Rey says, that’s not going to happen. You’ll see that soon. Get out of my room, go. Dilsah leaves.
I wanted to talk to you alone, Miran tells Azra. I didn’t want to burden Reyyan with this. It’s about Fusun Aslanbey and Cihan Sadoglu. Dilsah appears on the stairs and looks pleased her plan is working. She thinks to herself, like it or not Reyyan, this is going to happen. She heads back down.
Miran continues, I know that she is your mother and Cihan is my uncle, but neither one of them is going to stop and I don’t want you getting hurt in this war. Be careful. Azra asks, so you’re saying they are capable of anything? Miran wishes he could say otherwise, but yes. He doesn’t want to speak bad about Azra’s mother but it’s the truth. I’ll take every precaution to keep everyone safe, he says, I think it’s best if you didn’t see Fusun.
Or maybe I should do the opposite, Azra remarks. If she’s as cruel as you say, only I can stop her. I am her only living child. I’m her weakness. That’s why I think I should go live with her. Miran says, you can’t become Cihan’s target. Azra tells Miran, with so many problems, I don’t want to be a burden. I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that, Miran replies, a sister is never a problem. Besides, mom wouldn’t want you to leave. We can’t do that to her. [do it and more]
Miran adds, Reyyan needs you very much. Reyyan needs me, Azra asks, why? Miran answers, having an OB-GYN auntie is an advantage, don’t you think? Ah, yes, Azra says. What else could it be, Miran asks. Azra looks guilty. She says, I have something important to tell you. He’s all ears.
And we are out.
Pasion
Season 2 Episode 34 – Friday – Part 1 of 5
** As of today, I am not referring to Rosario as Rosi because I am officially tired of typing Rosario!
Back at Rosi’s lair, Gunter barges into Muriel’s room and demands to know what happened with Rosi but Muriel doesn’t know. She asked and asked and asked and mommy refused to tell her! In fact, she nearly hit her when she insisted. Rosi won’t tell Gunter either that’s why he’s pestering Muriel, Rosi is locked up in her room with Pancha and won’t open the door or answer questions.
Rosi is mad at Pancha for telling Muriel but Pancha assures she didn’t tell her anything. She was standing right next to her when Rosi called and she insisted on coming with, what could Pancha do? Pancha wants to know where Rosi was and what happened and all she will say is she was at the Reyes Ranch and what can you expect to happen in a place where both the horses and the owners kick?? LOL Gunter comes back and insists again. He’s not leaving until she opens. This time Rosi tells Pancha to let him in.
Pancha leaves and Gunter asks what happened. Rosi plays dumb with him too. She tells him she got hurt in the car accident (which is actually true as far as the visible wounds, I think. I don’t think her lip was bleeding before the accident) and nothing else happened. Gunter thinks someone mistreated her but she won’t admit it. He wants to call the police but she says no, because nothing happened!!! Gunter insists and insists and insists but all Rosi will say is that what happened today will motivate her to continue the war.
Back at the ranch, JD is looking at his phone rather seriously and pacing; it rings and it’s Muriel. He greets her but she thinks he sounds weird, serious. He asks if they can see each other that night and she says she’d love to but she can’t leave her mom. He asks what is going on with mom, and Muriel says she doesn’t know. Something happened but she’s not talking about it. JD tells her he can tell her what happened with her mom. Muriel says he’s scaring her, but JD just says he knows exactly what happened and he will tell her, he isn’t going to hide anything from her.
Jimena and Berta are still trying to kind the keys and Berta is sure she left them on the table but Jimena thinks she moved them and forgot. Berta thinks maybe Sarita or Andres, or even Duvan could have taken them but Jimena thinks not. Why would any of them take them? Plus, Duvan wasn’t even there that day! Oscar comes home and tries to reassure Berta. We will just get duplicates made, no big deal. Jimena tells Oscar the twins called and they need you to call them.
Gunter harasses Muriel about leaving but Muriel doesn’t see any reason to stay when Rosi won’t even talk to her! She only needs Pancha and Muriel isn’t staying locked up. Gunter thinks Muriel knows something and she says as of right now, no, but maybe I’m about to find out! Gunter reminds Muriel that she has to respect her mother above all people and Muriel reminds him not to follow her because if he does, she will leave this house without thinking twice!
Eric is talking to Oscar and he tells him something happened over there but no one is talking. Dad cancelled all his events and is locked up in the study, Mom is locked up in her room and won’t open the door, JD went out and grandpa is sleeping. The whole ranch is silent and it’s weird. Oscar says it does sound like something serious happened, he suggests the twins come over and tell him what happened on their outing.
Quintina is trying to get Norma to open the door, she tells her Gabriela is there. Norma finally comes to the door but she refuses to go see her mom. She doesn’t want food and she doesn’t want to talk about what happened she wants to be left alone. Quintina goes back to Gabriela and tells her Norma won’t come down; Gabriela thinks that is weird. What about Juan? She is told Juan is locked up and won’t talk to anyone either. Gabriela says, let me try something, she hands Quintina her purse and walks off.
Season 2 Episode 34 – Friday – Part 2 of 5
Gabriela reaches the study and knocks. She says ‘Juan, it’s Gabriela’ and shockingly Juan just says ‘Come in, Gabriela’!?! He tells her to be brief because he’s not in the mood to talk. She wants to know what’s going on? Why did he cancel all the events? Is he having an issue with the fair representatives? Juan says no, it’s a personal problem. A married couple’s problem. He asks if she ever had any of those problems with her husbands, and Gabriela actually laughs pretty good at that, she tells him his sarcasm is terrible. She tells him she didn’t have problems, she had tragedies that nearly killed them all. Juan thinks his problems can’t be resolved. (Darcy thinks maybe they could if couples actually talked to each other after 20 years) He seems to think the only thing there is to do is to wait for all hell to break lose or the storm to blow over. Gabriela wants him to tell her everything but he refuses. He asks her to leave, but politely, he’s not in the mood to talk. She leaves but first she reminds him that they have been through a lot together, situations that at first seemed to have no solutions. She hopes this too has a solution. She tells him that she loves and respects him very much and even kisses his head! (I wonder what she would say if she knew what actually happened?)
The twins are talking to Oscar and Jimena about what happened – well sort of, they don’t know what happened they just think it’s something serious. Oscar and Jimena doubt it because they have always got along well and they seemed fine yesterday. Eric says they are locked up in different rooms and won’t talk to each other. Jimena says they gain nothing by speculating, they just have to wait and find out what happened. Berta breaks another plate and Jimena goes off to calm her down. Left alone the guys talk about what happened in Nino’s neighborhood and finding Adela gone. Arrogant Oscar thinks things would have been different if they had just taken him (how exactly?) he could have thrown his money at the problem and made people talk!!! (eyes rolling) Eric tells him the people in that neighborhood don’t talk to strangers and Leon says he didn’t think of offering money because Nino’s grandpa was there. Oscar lets both boys know if he had been there, he would have offered money and they lost an opportunity due to their lack of creativity!!! (Really?? What a jackass!!!) By the look on Eric and Leon’s faces, they might agree with me! Hehe
Pancha is talking with Andres, the band and the dancers. She tells them Rosi had an accident and isn’t performing tonight and they need to come up with a plan to cover her. Andres is worried and wants to talk to Rosi, but Pancha tells him she’s okay and not in the mood to talk. She’s just sore and in a bad mood. Andres thinks maybe they can debut Muriel’s chorography but that’s a problem too because Pancha hasn’t seen Muriel all day and she doesn’t know if she’ll be there, they need a plan C.
Muriel is at a restaurant with JD and she says she’s happy to see him but strangely scared to hear what it is he has to say. JD says it’s a complicated topic and maybe she won’t want to see him after he tells her. Muriel says don’t tell me then (a good solution in theory) but JD says he doesn’t want there to be secrets between them. He’s going to tell her everything he should have told her from the beginning (I agree). Muriel says she’s scared and JD says he’s more scared. Muriel braces herself to hear it and JD says in order for things to work between them, Muriel needs to know everything that has happened and that continues to happen between him and her mother. Muriel quickly pulls her hands back from his at the table.
Season 2 Episode 34 – Friday – Part 3 of 5
We don’t hear exactly what JD tells Muriel (and I wish we had because it would be interesting to know just how this all looks from JD’s perspective) but they are walking and talking now and Muriel is definitely impacted. She tells him what happened with her mom happened before they met and he didn’t have to tell anyone about it not even her! (Really???) She knows how her mother is, how she treats people and what she is capable of. JD wants to know if she’s going to leave him and Muriel wants to know if he’s willing to fight for their relationship. JD says of course, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me, the only thing I have. Muriel is worried about what Rosi will do, but she agrees they will find a solution together. JD is relieved though Muriel still is looking reluctant, scared and sad. He finally just kisses her and keeps kissing her.
Pancha is putting on quite the show and maybe exaggerating to make up for Rosi’s absence, but it looks fun. Albin shows up accompanied by all his buddies, having the time of his life and proving he has no concerns whatsoever about what is or isn’t happening at the Reyes Ranch.
Rosi is getting one of those creepy massages from Gunter and talking about how Muriel is out, probably with JD. They have the same tired conversation about JD and Rosi is still sure he is her destiny. What she has with him is real and authentic and Muriel’s fling is just a stupid whim! (This woman has seriously lost it) Gunter thinks her only destiny is to die by her husband’s side, which might be a threat. Muriel thinks no man she has ever met compares to JD…. yada yada yada. She does finally tell Gunter that her confrontation was with Juan Reyes and not Juan David Reyes. She calls Juan as aggressive and brutal as Samuel.
Juan is still in the study, Norma in her bed, both having nightmares about the other day. Norma startles awake and says ‘what happened to you Juan? What happened?’
Next morning the twins and JD are at breakfast and the boys want to know if their parents are going to stay locked up for the rest of their lives! JD says have patience what happened was very bad we need to give them time. Eric says his brother looks very calm considering it was all his fault. Quintina jumps in saying it was Rosario’s fault! (I think Juan may have had some fault too) Eric guesses Dad caught JD having sex with Rosi and that’s what started this, JD yells at him to shut up and stop talking nonsense. Leon thinks JD is still the favorite child so he shouldn’t worry, after all when they had a problem with Rosario Montes, they were almost hanged but nothing happened to JD. (Not AT ALL the same thing, Leon) Quintina tries to get them to stop fighting. Eric says they will stop arguing and settle the situation since JD couldn’t (LOL), the twins rush off to make things worse with their parents – um, I mean resolve things with their parents.
Adan and his buddy are talking about Juan cancelling all their fair performances and what could have happened. They are disgruntled but the only thing I care about in this conversation is that Adan seems to think this spat between Norma and Juan has left him with an opening… this guy gives me the creeps BIG TIME!
Leon goes to Mom and Eric goes to Dad. Norma is ignoring Leon’s knocks and pleas to open up. Juan is ignoring Eric’s tirade about how they were taught to honor their obligations and now dad is cancelling all his, he wants an explanation! Juan does finally say simply, ‘I’m not coming out until Norma talks to me’. Leon continues to pound on the doors and windows and asks mom to at least answer so he’ll know she’s okay. Norma finally opens the door and says she’ll leave her room when she knows there is no chance, she’ll have to run into Juan Reyes.
Season 2 Episode 34 – Friday – Part 4 of 5
Norma goes to the balcony railing and starts yelling ‘Leave!’ ‘I want you to leave, Juan Reyes!’ ‘If you don’t leave, I will’ and since Norma is now talking (well yelling) to him, Juan leaves the study. He goes out into the courtyard and says, ‘I am going to humor you, Norma Elizondo. I will leave at once and I’ll only come back when you ask me to. This just proves that you are tired of me and that you don’t love me anymore.’ (Juan looks so broken-hearted and I almost feel sorry for him. Almost, I mean I totally would if he was fifteen but since he’s a grown man who should talk to his wife and doesn’t, it’s hard to feel completely sorry for him. It was a good performance though by Mario, very convincing) Norma is just crying. The boys look traumatized.
JD doesn’t want his dad to leave but Juan knows he has to. He tells JD that he knows him very well and he will find the bright side??? (Really??) JD knows what happened and he has to understand. JD wants to know where dad will go but Juan thinks that’s the least important part of this, he will go where ever they will receive him. Juan gives him a fist bump and leaves, JD tries to call him back but Martin, who has been present through this conversation but hasn’t said anything, tells JD to let him go, he knows exactly where he will go. Martin takes out his cell phone and it’s a more humorous moment as we see this ‘old man’ struggle to use his cell phone. We don’t hear who he calls.
There’s a sad long walk out to dad’s truck with the bags for the twins and Quintina. Norma is now out of her room and watching from the house with tears in her eyes.
Juan went straight to... Gabriela?!!! She and Dominga are waiting to receive him and she tells him Martin called and told her he was coming. Juan doesn’t want to put her out but Gabriela says nonsense, this is your house, you know that. Gabriela doesn’t like seeing Juan sad but she’s here for him to listen if he needs her.
Time passes based on the images of night and day that quickly pass, and Duvan tries to bring his mom flowers but the heartless witch calls them garbage and casts them aside. She sends him to daddy’s house to find out if Jimena has gone back to work yet and reminds him to play dumb if anyone asks about the keys. He says as you wish and when she goes inside, he picks the discarded flowers up from the ground and heads off with them.
Apparently, it’s two days later and Juan is on the phone with both of the twins complementing them on their hard work in his absence. The boys are lapping up daddy’s praise and are glad they could prove they are more than just troublemakers. They even give their older brother credit for some big idea of ending the fair in style. JD is talking to some international judges and Eric says there are a lot of very important people at the ranch right now. Juan tells the twins everything would have gone to hell without their help.
Juan hangs up and Gabriela says he hasn’t been off the phone in two days. Juan is all smiles talking about how the twins have been calling him nonstop to discuss details about the fair. Gabriela is glad the demon children are supporting their dad (she didn’t call them demon children; it was me that time). Dominga says they need 20 minutes to finish his room, and I hope she means from the daily cleaning and not that it took two days to prepare his room but she did say something about putting everything exactly like he likes it. Juan says do whatever you want, I feel very comfortable here, I am not missing anything. Gabriela says, ‘what about Norma?’ (Just to bring down an otherwise light moment, I guess) Juan just sighs.
Season 2 Episode 34 – Friday – Part 5 of 5
Another crazy meal with a crazy woman at Rosi’s breakfast table. Rosi wants to know why Muriel is no longer asking about the accident, could it be because the person who she went out with told her all about it? Rosi says, Who are you dating? Muriel counters if Rosi doesn’t tell her about the accident why should she tell her mom who she is seeing? Rosi asks another question. She wants to know if the person Muriel was dating wanting to hurt her mother, would she stay with him? Muriel says yes, if you were at fault then I would stay with him. She says she stayed with her father even though he had hurt her because she asked for it! (Really???) She says even though mom doesn’t believe it her dad loves her and needs her, why doesn’t she just get back together with him? Rosi says it’s because she is in love with another man who is nothing like Muriel’s father and Muriel asks her if that man reciprocates her feelings or accepts her love. Rosi says it doesn’t matter! (Another WTH moment) If you really love someone all that matters is getting what you really want it doesn’t matter what the other person feels… (this woman is seriously deranged!) Muriel says her mom’s tactics aren’t smart and Rosi warns she will fight to the death for what she considers hers and no one is going to take it from her!
Duvan makes it to Jimena’s and Berta confirms she is back at work at the boutique. He can only see her on the weekends. He offers the flowers to Berta to give to Jimena and she is impressed that he thought of something so sweet. She invites him in for cake and when she serves him, she asks about the keys but he tells her he knows nothing about it. She asks about his parents, and his description is enough for Berta to know what kind of parents he has.
More talk between Adan and his buddy (his name is Terencio in case we care) about the changes at the ranch. I am too busy dreading where I think this is going to listen to these two idiots, much less type out their conversation. Let’s just say Adan is more and more sure his moment with the lady of the house is on the horizon.
Norma is finally out of her room and building a fire. Grandpa asks if Norma feels lonely and she says no because she has him. The boys are busy helping their father with the fair and Martin thinks she should help too so she would feel less alone. Norma says she can’t, she can’t do anything without Juan’s authorization (Really??? You can throw him out of the house but you can’t help with a fair event without his approval?) Norma wants to go for a walk and asks Martin to go but he claims he is cold. Norma leaves and Martin takes a swig from his hidden flask.
Now outside, Norma is walking alone and that horrid Adan is watching her, creeping around behind some trees. Norma can sense his presence and I just kept thinking about Adriana’s comment that she hopes Romina gets ‘run over by wild horses’ and wishing that would happen to Adan RIGHT NOW!!! But no horse is in sight and he starts to come out from his hiding place just as our episode fades to credits…
And there you have it. This was a crazy episode to me not so necessarily because of what did happen but because of what didn't and because of several things that were said. As you can tell from the recap there were several WTH moments and statements for me in this...these people are weird.
I can't believe Muriel thinks JD didn't need to tell her about what happened with her mom. I mean from an abuse survivor standpoint I get that, and granted we don't know exactly what he told her - but on the other hand if your boyfriend has that kind of trauma going on with your own mother I think you need to know and he needs to tell you! I can't imagine keeping all that separate and compartmentalized from your relationship. Especially since it's not over as Rosi has made clear. If it truly was in the past and over and done with, I could maybe see Muriel's point more but under the circumstances she definitely needs to know! And in my opinion JD should have told her from the beginning like she said.
I am disappointed in Norma, not necessarily because she threw Juan out, but the way she did it. She stays locked up in her room for days refusing to so much as speak to him and then orders if out of the house - screaming across the courtyard - in front of their sons?? Exactly what grade are these people in? I mean she could have at least had a totally irrational screaming fight and then smacked the hell out of him before ordering him out, like a normal novela heroine!
Juan went to Gabriela's! To me, this is the most interesting twist. He also let Gabriela come in to talk to him when he refused to open up for anyone else....these two are fascinating because there's some animosity and distrust there but there's also love. We know Gabriela had previously interfered with the twins and almost ruined Juan's relationship with them and we've seen they don't really get along well. Yet, Juan indicated awhile ago he missed her when she was distant and now of all the places he could go - to his brother Oscar's, to a hotel (these people aren't hurting for money), to one of their other properties that are not in short supply presumably since they offered one to Nino and family - but he goes to Gabriela! Is it strategic? You can get rid of me Norma, but I want go far, just to your mom.....or do Juan and Gabriela have a much stronger bond than we realize? Much like Gabriela and Don Martin, they might fight like cats and dogs but they really do love each other.
For those of you who haven't seen season 1, Juan and Gabriela HATED each other from the word go. Juan wanted to kill her literally, because he blamed her for his sister's death. But by the end of the season Gabriela's second husband (who married her for money and revenge) was holding her hostage demanding she sign over everything to him and Juan went to her rescue for Norma's sake. He and Gabriela really did bond in that experience but we hadn't seen them interact in the 20 years since so we are still learning just how they relate to each other now. While I am on the subject, I've also found it interesting just how close Juan and Sarita seem to be. He seems much closer to her than to Jimena, and part of that might be him assuming responsibility for taking care of his missing brother's (ex)wife, but they seem to really love each other - and Juan and Sarita had major issues throughout season 1. Sarita had changed a lot after falling in love with Franco and she got along with all three Reyes brothers but still Juan and Jimena never had a problem, and he seems closest with Gabriela and Sarita. It's an interesting dynamic to me.
Weirdo - Are you ready to join us recapping next week? Did you want to take Monday or Tuesday?
I apologize for all the typos. I can't type today apparently. I kept wanting to refer to all the 'he's' as 'she's' for some reason. I caught a bunch of them but I see not all. Sigh...
Thank you so much Darcy for a fantastic recap.
My thoughts...first of all a round of applause for Muriel’s maturity 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I was so impressed by how she handled Juan David’s confession. Another round of applause to Juan David for coming clean to Muriel about Rosario.
Oh and a round of applause to the twins for taking care of things in Juan’s absence.
I guess we can all conclude that Rosario needs psychiatric help...BIG TIME!!! She seems to always end up falling for men who don’t want her. I honestly feel bad for her in a way but she needs to grow up. Fighting with your own daughter over a boy young enough to be your son who has made it clear he wants absolutely nothing to do with you is just unacceptable. Samuel Caballero better show up and shake things up.
Romina is just the worst and I feel so so bad for poor Duvan.
I’m guessing this Norma-Juan rift won’t last for long...I just have a feeling, but for the love of God those two should learn how to Communicate!!!
Another fantastic recap, Darcy!
This must have been a weird one to recap. The worst/hardest ones, in my opinion, must be the ones where nothing really happens and the one where WTH things happen. This one was, as you said yourself, the second one.
I agree with your points. Especially the first one. Muriel, come on! I would want to know, even if things had ended. I'm glad JD told her. I wrote about that yesterday, I think.
Juan going to Gabriela's was kind of odd. Thank you, Darcy for the information regarding season 1. Won't the mother-daughter relationship be a bit awkward now? I mean, Norma kicked Juan out of the house and now he lives at Gabriela's. I can see the awkwardness here.
I don't have a problem with either day. If I had to choose, I'd choose Tuesday's episode (I hope it's a good one, my birthday is on Tuesday), but I don't mind taking both days.
Thanks very much, dondi356, for another superb recap. As always, you've covered everything clearly and completely, with some on-target side comments as well. (I especially enjoyed your aside when Miran urges Azra not to move to Fusun's, saying that they can't do that to Dilsah, and you added "[do it and more]." Yes!
Thanks for pointing out who the letter was from on the breakfast tray near the start of the episode. I didn't have a clue. I hated Miran's hiding the letter, and as far as I'm aware, the episode ended without Reyyan's or Viewerville's being aware of it and the good news it probably contains.
Sigh, I too noticed that Miran's bangs were back. Recently, I had decided that Miran was more mature and reasonable (and a lot better looking) when he didn't have bangs. However, in spite of Miran's hiding the letter under the placemat, on the whole he seemed more reasonable than usual (admittedly a low bar) in this episode, bangs and all. I'm thinking of what he said to Hazar, and also what he said at the board meeting. In spite of my great sympathy and approval of Firat, my guess is that Miran's opinion about the business deal will probably turn out to be the right one.
I was relieved when Cihan and his I-don't-know-what-to-call-them (thugs? goons? flunkies?) couldn't find Azat. I had feared that Azat and Gonul would simply drive to the nearest airport, which would be the first place Cihan would go to. He'd find them and somehow be able to stop them. But apparently Azat and/or Gonul are smarter than I feared. At least I hope so.
I was surprised when Zehra lied to Miran in order to protect Reyyan's secret. That made little sense to me. After all, Zehra wants desperately for Reyyan NOT to choose Umut's life over her own, and surely Miran would feel the same way. He could be an important ally. Also, Miran overheard "it's much worse than we thought," and Zehra's explanation that she has a small cyst, "no big deal," doesn't mesh with the alarming words he overheard.
I wonder whether Azra's pointing out to Reyyan that she's sacrificing her life for her son's because of Fusun may make Reyyan look at things differently.
So Zehra is determined that there must be a cure and she's going to find it. I haven't been a Zehra admirer for most of this dizi, but I'm definitely rooting for her here. And, crazy as it seems, I think she may succeed.
And, of course, the episode ended on a perfect cliffhanger for a Friday. We'll have to wait until Monday to find out whether Azra will tell Miran about Reyyan's condition, or whether something or someone (Dilsah, for example) will prevent that from happening.
Thanks again, dondi356. Have a great weekend!
I forgot to talk about Rosario. She's crazy. I'm not kidding. She needs help.
She's so immature! She's willing to make Muriel's life miserable for a guy? Let's not even talk about how she drugged JD/got him drunk in order for him to sleep with her! Now, for real: Did this novela need ANOTHER person who could use some help? A small list includes: Rosario, Romina (I hate her), Demetrio, Prof. Cerraño, Gunther (he's not exactly healthy) and so on...
DONDI: ..AWESOME.. This episode had some bite to it...!!...things are starting to gel...appreciate the detail. For....'Us-um'....working folks....!!

Dondi, thanks for every tense moment .
The brightest spot in this episode was the rice pudding . Unlike poor, constant bullied Rey, I had a very sweet mother in law who made delicious rice pudding in the oven . However, could First just eat the d*** rice pudding.....yeah.....no.
Anywho, when I hear Fu, Cihan, and Azz threatening , all I hear is " And I'll huff , and I'll puff ,and I'll blow your house down" ( I knew a little girl who wanted The Three Little Pigs read over and over to her. )
Dilsah setting up her son and daughter .... nice. Hazard defending her.
I need more low maintenance , laidback Mahfoux.
I am so tired of all these people . Make it stop. Bring on the next story.
Thank you MaameAdwoa, and I agree Muriel handled the situation very maturely. The only part of it that surprised me was the comment about how he didn't have to tell her, that seemed out of place but her overall reaction was great. And also haunting...with a mom like Rosario and a dad like she describes this poor girl has been through the ringer! She deserves a bright, pure, joyous love not a war with her delusional mother.
Weirdo - I agree with you that the hardest episodes to recap are the ones where nothing really happens, so boring. When there's a bunch of WTH happenings it can be fun because at least you have a lot of things to say about it - lots of reactions. I personally hate recapping conversations where the same characters have the same conversations over and over and over again like Rosi and Gunter talking about JD or Adan and his side kick talking about wanting Norma......dude we did it, shut up! But as Adriana knows it can be really fun to recap the really outrageous and silly stuff because you get to make fun of it! LOL
So Monday and Tuesday?! - In for a penny, in for a pound, huh? I like your dive right in attitude! I want to warn you writing a recap might be a little more time consuming than you'd think. It took about 2 hours for me to write this morning and I feel like I write faster now than when I first started so it might be quite a time commitment for your first recaps. If you think you'd really like to take both days then that would be fantastic, but please let us know if that doesn't work after all and you would like to start off slower. We are thrilled to have you join us in recapping and to share the fun with you but please, don't let yourself become overwhelmed!
Oh and Happy Birthday Weirdo! I hope you have a really fantastic time with it and celebrate well! :)
Thank you, Darcy, for recapping this bonkers episode. I literally have no words for Rosi anymore - she is as nutty as Gunther is creepy.
I guess we don't understand Norma's reaction because we rarely get to witness what happens after the "happily ever after". They're love was larger than life, to have someone like Rosario come between them must be hard to take. And if Norma agrees that he only did it to give her a lesson, than she might still be upset with his methods.
And Juan is now probably thinking she's using this incident like a way out.
Darcy, you made an interesting analysis of Juan's relationships with his in-laws. I agree that he's probably tried to be there for Sarita in Franco's absence, he might even feel a bit guilty that he couldn't stop his brother from leaving. His relationship with widow Gabriela has probably grown over the years, but he never had the same opportunities with Jimena, who has Oscar, who is not Juan's favorite person.
Maame, I kind of feel that this breakup will last for a while, and I don't mind it because it gives them a story. In the first few weeks of the show they were barely ever on.
I kind of have a different take on Muriel's reaction to the truth. To me she was too cool about it, too mature if you want. Her boyfriend and her mom had a fling before she was in the picture, even if JD was out if it at the time - there is a big ick factor here - not for a novela maybe. I would have found the whole thing more believable if she had told JD she needed some time to think. Rosi is crazy, but she is her mother, JD is just some guy she just met... I don't know, JD has got to have some magic touch, to turn these 2 women nuts over him.
Weirdo, good luck with your first recap Monday. Do let us know if two days is too much. Thank you for stepping in, hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Adriana, you make a very good point about Muriel's reaction and this is why I said it would be interesting to have heard exactly what JD said to her because it's a perspective issue. You said, 'her boyfriend and her mom had a fling' but is that what he told her? Is that what happened? I don't know that I would call it a fling.
Yes, there was a mutual attraction in the beginning but JD never once sought to act on it, he mostly avoided her until the day she all but raped him in her club and then he really tried to avoid her. The only time throughout the whole interaction when seemed like he might have been a willing participant in the interaction was the day she found him in the field at the ranch - those kisses you could say were mutual - but even then Rosario initiated it and JD did nothing to follow up.
Did they have a fling? Or is Rosario just sexually harassing/abusing him? And more to the point, what did JD tell Muriel? Did he tell her he had a fling with her mom? Or did he tell her he had a series of disturbing encounters with her mom in which she harassed him and made him very uncomfortable and one sexual encounter that was alcohol/drug induced that he didn't want to participant in and can't remember well?? Those are two very different stories to process. Is she looking at JD as a participant in a fling with her mother or as a victim of her mother's sexual harassment? To me, those two circumstances produce very different reactions. If he had a fling with her mom then he's just some guy, but if he is a victim then how do you fault him for it? But I still agree with you that her reaction was too cool - especially by novela standards. It really made me wonder though just how much psychological abuse she herself has suffered. It's easy and obvious Rosario needs psychiatric help but really Muriel probably does too, and a lot of it!!
Wierdo said, "Juan going to Gabriela's was kind of odd. Thank you, Darcy for the information regarding season 1. Won't the mother-daughter relationship be a bit awkward now? I mean, Norma kicked Juan out of the house and now he lives at Gabriela's. I can see the awkwardness here."
I don't consider this to be awkward at all. In PDG1, in reference to what Darcy described earlier, Juan literally saved Gabriela's life and had to carry her prior to their rescue, while he himself was recovering from a broken leg. They did develop special relationship and mutual respect for one another. That could be the reason in PDG2, why Juan did not object to much, when the twins went to live with her.
In PDG1, Norma was very protective of Gabriela, in spite of all the mean things Gabriela did to her, while trying to break up her relationship with Juan. In fact, Norma was the last one to leave Gabriela. Jimena and Sarita left way before Norma. Juan had to go rescue her and Juan David after Fernando (the ex and Gabriela' husband) threatened them. Norma was hiding in the bathroom, when Juan arrived and beat the hack out of Fernando. Even then, she was still a little hesitant about abandoning Gabriela. Later, After she moved in with Juan, she was informed that Gabriela was in trouble, she went back, shotgun in hand and tried to rescue her. Norma has always tried to do what is right for her loved ones. I hope in PDG2 the essence of her character is not changed.
Changing the subject, there have been some scenes in PDG2 that are straight out of PDG1, for example:
a. Gabriela trying to put Don Martin in a nursing home.
b. The scene of Norma(PDG2) watching Aldin at the feria and the scene of Norma(PDG1) watching Juan riding at the rodeo are similar, in fact, Norma's facial expressions in both scenes are identical.
c. The "Juan" dream scene of Norma and Aldin in bed is identical to the scene in PDG1, where Norma decides to go looking for Juan and she drives to the Reyes estate in the middle of the night to reconcile with Juan.
I appreciate and want to thank Darcy and Adriana for the recaps of all the episodes, they are wonderful. You are both excellent writers.
thank you all much.
PDG fan
Thanks so much for the excellent recap, dondi. ITA on all of your asides. Like Juanita I definitely enjoyed "do it and more".
Why didn't they tell us what Azat wrote to his mother? I kept expecting the full text and then Handan trying to control Cihan for the sake of her son.
I am starting to think of the writers of this show as the TFW (Turkish Frustrating Writers) team. I watched all of Fatmagül and I don't recall so many loose ends and teases that go nowhere. I do know that you, dondi, commented that they'd cut a great deal, but the plot still hung together very well.
It looks like we can hope that Azat and Gonul, at the very least, got a wedding night.
Well Zombie Yaren is gone and Nasty Yaren is back. I gotta wish her the best with any plans she has to thwart Fusun.
Someone here alluded to Firat maybe playing a double game to, what?, mess with Fusun. I read it here but must have missed it because it seems to me that Firat is still angry at Miran and going his own way. This sale at loss leader prices looks like a really bad move guaranteed to rile up the probably tight-knit community of olive growers. Can't understand why Firat is oblivious to that.
I wonder often if this is a cultural thing. I can't stand it when Miran often tries to wake up a pregnant woman. I remember sleeping for waaaay many more hours when I was in that condition. And I had the luxury of doing so. I also can't stand the way his blood pressure rises when he can't instantly contact her.
We might call this show DPM, Dizi of Petulant Men. They are thick on the ground.
PDG it's good to 'see' you on the patio and thank you for providing additional information on the Juan and Gabriela dynamic. I have been trying to mention season 1 as little as possible because I know some have not seen it and so I'm trying to let season 2 stand alone as much as I can. But you're right that experience is why Gabriela was talking about when she said she and Juan had been through a lot together.
One clarification, Norma wasn't the last to leave the house, Sara was. It was actually Sara who went to get Juan and tell him what was going on so he could save Norma from Fernando. She was still living in the house at the time. Jimena was the first to leave (she too left because Fernando attacked her), Norma was next and Sara actually played a huge part in pressuring Norma to leave because she was afraid of what Fernando would do to Norma or Juan David, who was just a baby at the time. Sara stayed until Gabriela was taken hostage by Fernando - she didn't know her mom was in danger when she left. Fernando forced Gabriela to kick Sara out so she wouldn't be a witness to what he was doing.
All three of the girls pretty much had to be forced to leave their mom, they were very loyal to her even though she treated them all horribly and believed Fernando over them at every turn.
Novelera, although I wasn't the one who suggested that Firat may be playing a double game, I can see why that might be possible. At one point in an earlier episode, Firat is talking to Azize about being unhappy with the way things are going, especially his relationship with Miran. I think he may have said that he didn't want to continue in this role. Azize advised/urged him not to give up. I recall thinking then that it sounded as if he and Azize were working together to bring down Fusun. It was a very brief scene, and I was not sure what to make of it, but it did somewhat suggest that perhaps Azize and Firat were to some degree working together.
Darcy, you make a very good point about what exactly JD might have told Muriel after all. Were he to tell the truth, he'd have to blame Rosario for the whole thing. But then again JD is a boy scout, and talking to Rosario's daughter, no less, wouldn't he have wanted to do the chivalrous thing and take part of the blame? Maybe we'll find out in flashback - it was an odd thing to leave to our imagination. I used "fling" to describe what happened for lack of a better word... JD was out of it but Rosario wasn't aware he had been drugged (right?), she thought he was a willing participant - and we've all seen it doesn't take her much to get her imagination going.
When I said Muriel was too cool about it, I was only thinking about the act in itself - mom and boyfriend slept together. There is the whole abuse angle to consider, also, that's why I was surprised to see her take the news like that - like you said, Darcy, the trauma runs deep with this one.
Also, Rosario compared Juan with her ex Samuel - if she lived a life of abuse with him no wonder she fell for marshmallow JD.
PDG fan, thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again. Different perspectives make for a very lively conversation and this show has given us so many dark moments, there is always plenty to talk about.
The twins being upset that JD is not being punished for the chaos they think he created is one of the things Norma and Juan need to address when they are able to be in the same room together. They keep mentioning that JD is the golden boy and I get why they would feel this way - they were a bunch of rascals growing up, and it only got worse when Juan started complaining about them, while praising JD at every turn. And I think Oscar's interference didn't help matters, either. I hope Juan does take the time to tell them how proud he is of their hard work.
JD, while not at fault here, should have come forward with what was going on sooner. I know, don't blame the victim, but I don't think he hid his Rosario thing out of shame, but because he didn't want Muriel to find out and he thought he could handle this himself. What happened instead is that he caused a huge fight between his parents, while Muriel is almost like "cool, whatever". He needs to talk to Norma and tell her what Rosario was trying to do, when she is calmer about the whole thing, his words might make a difference.
Thanks for the happy birthday wish, Darcy.
I thought about taking only one day, but I decided against it. Adriana and Darcy really need a break. I actually practiced writing recaps with the telenovela that's currently shown in my country, Falsa Identidad (still season 1, btw. The channel that's showing it randomly stopped showing it, for now. I have no clue when it's going to continue, ugh). Yep, it's very time-consuming. I think that I'll start with Mondays and Tuesdays and if it's too much for me, I'll let you guys know and I'll take Tuesdays only.
PDG, I thought it would be awkward because Norma kicked Juan out of house and now he's staying at her mom's. I don't know how I'd feel about that if I were Norma. I haven't watched season 1, so I don't know exactly what has happened, but now I'm informed about the most important parts thanks to yours and Darcy's comments.
Weirdo, you're so sweet wanting to help out :) I don't know about Darcy, but I do need a break from all the gloom and doom Lol
We can definitely adjust recapping days as we go.
I think the whole Juan staying at Gabriela's is a bit odd, but if we look at his choices, what else does he have: Oscar's place - not in great terms right now; Sarita's place - maybe inappropriate as long as Franco is not around; a hotel in town- everyone would know there is trouble in Paradise and besides San Marcos is worse than Harlem in the 80's, I wouldn't want to live there either. :)(
Thank you novelera for the Wednesday and Thursday excellent recaps! I really appreciate you taking two for the Patio team! 😊
The Friday recap dondi356 was excellent as well, thank you! My work schedule is really getting in the way of watching at my regular time and of course having time to comment.
Just a few things from the last three episodes:
I loved the first part of the wedding! Miran was definitely more likeable and handsome without the angry bangs! Reyyan looked lovely.
Dilsah and her red hair was definitely more devious. So glad Reyyan stood up to her.
I hope Gonul and Azat are able to stay far away and happy! I was totally thrown by the reactions from Cihan and Hazar. Really, Azat is a grown man.
Why is Ayise so mean to poor Lutfi? Is it because he studders or cooks better than she does?
I love Azize kicking out Fusun’s cane and slamming her into the chair! I am still on the fence with Reyyan forgiving Azize and welcoming Ayse with a hug.
It is clear that Firat and Azize are working together to subdue Fusun and keep the family safe. I have no idea how, but they seem to have a plan.
I was also glad we finally received some real medical information regarding Reyyan’s condition. If the real doctors can’t do anything, I am with novelera about bringing in the tribal medicine woman who cured Miran of three bullet holes and overnight exposure to the elements.
Mahfuz is the best man we have in this dizi. He is handsome, calm and focused.
I appreciate the recaps! Thank you!
Once again, I fell behind this week. Thank you, Adriana and Darcy for the recaps! Weirdo, I am so glad you are going to try your hand at recapping! It takes me several hours to recap Hercai. I always marvel at the other recappers ability to write so well in a short period of time. I look forward to your recaps!
I don’t have much more to offer for comments as there are so many great ones already. I will say, I was stunned by Juan’s brutish behavior with Rosi. I know he wanted to teach her a lesson, but it is not like JD is 10 years old. I don’t blame Norma for her reaction. I do think it is funny to see Juan at Gabriela’s.
I hope to stay a bit more current this week. These recaps have really helped me get into and stay interested in this story. Thank you!
RGV Chick, please pass on my prayers for a speedy recovery to JudyB. I have read many of her recap comments and the kind words she always has for the recappers. The patio is a great place to meet wonderful, kind people without them even knowing how their comments help you. JudyB and her positivity is one of the great people!
OT: First of all, I have to say that this blog is a fantastic place. We share our opinions with respect to other people's and I haven't seen a single comment that is rude or disrespectful. I'm always excited to go to Google, refresh this page and see all the amazing comments and recaps that people here write.
I hope JudyB is getting better.
Pasion: Thank you to everyone for your kind comments! I'm also looking forward to recap! I have a plan about how I'm going to write them and I hope you guys enjoy them!
Adriana, I agree, Juan doesn't really have much of a choice regarding his temporary home. It's still a bit odd in my opinion as well.
Also, about me wanting to give you guys a break. You're both doing a fantastic job and you've recapped 30-something episodes all by yourselves! If I can do something I really like and help at the same time, why not?
VVS, I don't blame Norma as well. I don't want to defend Rosi (she's crazy. She needs to meet Romina, they'd make great friends), but Juan kind of crossed the line. I saw the kiss at the Avance and I was shocked. My face went like (I hope emojis show here).
Honestly, as a person who hasn't watched Temporada 1, I'm intrigued to see Franco's character. Come to season 2 already!
Thank you again Weirdo, we are definitely happy to have you join us and as both you and Adriana said having a little break is totally welcome!
I am very excited to read your recaps! It sounds like you have a plan to really have fun with it and I am sure we will all love it!!
Adriana - I 100% believe Rosario knew JD was drugged that night. She may or may not have known Gunter was doing it at the time he did it, but later when JD was all but passed out and they had to carry him from the bar it was so obvious. If she was some young innocent woman with no experience in that world I could believe she might not know, but with Rosi's background - growing up singing in bars, undoubtedly being exposed to all kinds of drunken and drug induced incidents, she most definitely would have recognized the signs.
Thanks for the reassuring comment, Darcy! I'm very excited and nervous at the same time. I hope they come out well.
I also agree that Rosi knew. I think JD told her that he wants to leave or something similar before anything happened, but she just didn't really care. Good point about her background. Even if she didn't know, though, her obsession with Juan David is awful, especially knowing that he makes her daughter happy.
From your guys'comments, I understood that Rosi hasn't really changed since season 1. That's disappointing. I like character arcs, they make the story more interesting and better overall. I think that the writers shouldn't have created the obsession plot at all and just go with a more changed Rosario, especially since they already have a character that's not changed (Gabriela). You know, something like not being exactly the same 20 years later. The main characters wouldn't trust her at the start and she would try to make them believe her ect. My point is, it could work.
I'll probably post Monday's recap around this time on Tuesday.
Sorry, I had no time to reply over the weekend to thank everyone for reading and commenting.
Juanita, I’m relieved too, that Azat and Gonul seem to have made a clean getaway. The “I-don't-know-what-to-call-them (thugs? goons? flunkies?)” are thankfully incompetent. Maybe we will eventually hear what Azat said in his letter. I hope he was smart enough not to give his location away or Handan will tell Mr. Bad Toupee.
I was a bit surprised when Zehra lied for Rey since she’s been so bold lately and she wants to save her daughter. But then I thought she probably didn’t want to cause an Angrybangs meltdown. That almost backfired when Miran asked for details, as Halimacandy emphatically pointed out. If it was any other man, they likely would have been embarrassed and backed off.
LOL, Susanlynn, “The brightest spot in this episode was the rice pudding.”
novelera, I’m planning to avoid any dizis written by these particular “TFW (Turkish Frustrating Writers)”. The director is on my hitlist, too. Anyway, I knew this could go off the rails since it’s set in SE Turkey.
I think most agree with you, VVS, that Mahfuz is now the best man we have. Hazar is not looking good in comparison. Maybe he will need to go to the manicomio with Dilsah. Will they get rid of Hazar, to clear Mahfuz’s way to Rey?
Finding a cure for Rey before Miran finds out would be too good to be true. Yeah, where is that medicine woman? And I wonder if Azra will get the chance to spill tonight.
Darcy, you are absolutely correct, Sarita was the last Elizondo sister to leave. I recalled Sarita telling Juan at the Reyes estate, Norma and baby JD were in danger and both taking off on the rescue mission, that I assumed she was already living with los Reyes.
I am glad to see all the commenting and enjoy reading the different perspectives on the scenes involving our beloved characters. So thank you, everybody!!!
Wierdo, looking forward to reading your first recap.
