Hercai 2 - #81 – Parte 1 de 2

We are back to the cliffhanger pistol shot, which is heard once gain. Nasuh: “Ayse!” Hazar: “What did I do?” They rush up the stairs, open the door with shocked expressions. But Telemundo decides to instead show us Reyyan asking Miran if he’ll give Azize a second chance. Miran: “Are you hearing yourself? You’re asking me to forgive her.” Reyyan tells him it’s up to him if he forgives her; she’s only asking him to give her a chance.

Miran tells her that she’s right. She gave him another chance and he became a different man. He says that some people change when you give them another chance. [Really, are you hearing yourself, Angry Bangs? You’ve had about a dozen chances and blown them.] He goes on to say that other don’t. Azize is one of the latter kind. And off he goes with that patronizing tone of voice. [Have others noticed how much more makeup Reyyan has worn in the last two episodes?]

Miran tells his wife that he knows what will happen if he gives Azize a chance. “The sympathy you would give her she doesn’t deserve, and it would upset us. I don’t want you upset. He tells her not to think about it, to put herself in his shoes. [What else has she done for months now?] After this little lecture he adds that he’ll think about it for her sake, but he isn’t promising anything. She wants him to think of Umut and their future happiness and feels that making peace with Azize will help.

We see a bullet hole in the room where Hazar left Azize. Azize: “You aren’t going to kill me?” Hazar explodes. He asks her what she’s doing messing with his mind. Azize replies that she’s not playing with him. But she can read his face. He has a big, big heart. “One day you’ll call me mother; I know it." Hazar rants some more and says he wouldn’t say it with his last breath. He tells her not to toy with his conscience ever again and walks out.

In the street Hazar tells Nasuh that Azize will never reform.

Back to the scene of the crime where Harun died. Fusun has her pistol pointed at the back of Yaren’s head and is mocking her. “How easily you tell a mother that you killed her son.” Another shot is heard, but Viewerville has been played too many times and just collectively snorts derisively.

Gonul is back in her room touching her lips, remembering the kiss. [Wow, this woman has gorgeous hands, long, slender and perfect.] “If you were leaving me, why did you kiss me? How can I take this pain of losing you?” Outside in the car Azat tells himself leaving her will be the most difficult. He gets a call from Handan about Yaren going off with Fusun.

It was Cihan shooting into the air. He tells the goons to move away. He tells Fusun that Yaren really didn’t kill Harun. They struggled over the gun and it went off. Yaren pipes up to let her shoot so she’ll find peace. Yaren says she’s not afraid. Cihan shoots the goon in the arm and Cihan and Fusun end up in one of those normal Midyat poses, guns pointed at each other.

Miran couldn’t be more smug, having won Reyyan over. Lots of gooey stuff about her having promised him a daughter when he had that bullet hole in him. He tells her it’s her turn to ask something of him. Instead of telling him to never be a jackass again, she comes up with a lame wish that the coming year will be healthy and happy for Miran, herself and Umut. [Why do they have her simper girlishly every time he gives her one of those intense, passionate looks? It’s getting boring.]

Hercai 2 - #81 – Parte 2 de 2

Back to the Turkish standoff. Yaren shouts for them to stop. “No one needs to die! I’m pregnant with Harun’s child. [Many of you predicted this. But a few minutes ago she was telling Fusun to go ahead and shoot her, fetus included. I’m predicting her being a worse mother than Handan.] The magical word pregnant causes the guns to be lowered.

Reyyan gives Miran back the same giant watch with the inscription that he gave her. [Huh?] We get a lot more sappy expressions of love. >>>FF They decide to stay up all night billing and cooing.

Zehra offers to listen to Handan, which is more than the harpy deserves. But Handan tells her that she, Zehra, has enough problems of her own. Hazar comes home. The man can hardly walk because of self-inflicted emotional overload. In their bedroom Zehra asks him what happened. He says he can’t even breathe. “She told me to kill her and I was ready to do it.” He says he didn’t do it but he left his soul there. “As long as this woman is in our lives, there won’t be any peace.”

Reyyan and Miran are in bed cuddling in their jammies, when she gets a craving for strawberries. She blames it on Umut. She charges off to the kitchen saying she hopes there’s some left (from that cake she baked) or he’ll have to drive all night until he finds some. Miran tells Umut he should ask for something besides wild strawberries in winter. He also says that Umut will have to answer for this when he’s born.

There’s a long and very cute scene during which their love song in Spanish plays. They feed each other strawberries, melt chocolate to dip them in and generally stuff themselves. This is saving your recapper some keystrokes.

Seyda has prepared Fusun’s dinner. She looks like she’s already needing Pepto Bismol as she sits there at a tiny table. Azize shows up saying she’s decided to join her for dinner. Azize says that this is a great day for her because her son thought she’d died and ran to her side. “What about you, Fusun? Will your daughter run into your arms or will she curse you?” Fusun says that Azize is declaring war. Azize tells her yes. “I wanted my son to call me mother if only once, and you didn’t give me that chance. [I assume she means when Fusun crashed Reyyan’s dinner party and spilled all the beans.] Now I don’t feel sorry for you. I’ll tell your daughter everything. I’ll use the facts to destroy you. Now she’ll know the whole truth.” And she walks out.

Handan wonders what I do. You knew you were pregnant; why did you keep quiet? Yaren replies that she didn’t want to give birth to Harun’s child. Maybe because she killed Harun or maybe because she doesn’t want to be reminded she’s a killer every time she looks at the kid’s face. Azat comes in and, hearing the news, embraces his twisted sister.

Azat asks Cihan what happened and is told that Fusun was going to kill Yaren right in front of his eyes. He muses that she’ll only just wait 9 months and then… Then he launches into his theme song, the same old same old: "Fusun doesn’t know who I am. I will show her."

Reymir have eaten all the chocolate and strawberries. Miran muses about his dreams. He will give his son everything he lacked as a child. And he’ll be his best friend. Reyyan then starts wincing and clutching her stomach again.

Firat and Zeynep are happily riding in his car and talking about his mother’s cooking. Firat stops the car in what looks like a pretty big square in Midyat and pours something on the ground. What he poured was flammable because he lights it on fire. It’s in the shape of a heart. Surprisingly no one arrests him, and the two of them dance inside the flames. These two are very endearing together.

Miran has to break into the bathroom and carry Reyyan to the hospital. Umut is turning out to be a problem child.

Thanks VERY much, novelera, for this fine, mercifully concise recap.

I confess I found much of the episode hard to watch, not because it was riveting (I wish!) but because it was so tiresome and disappointing. Hazar has been reduced to just a bucket of tears, self-pity, and decrepitude. He keeps insisting that he will never call Azize "Mother," which almost guarantees that we'll see him do so before this dizi ends. Yawn.

As several people had predicted, Yaren played the pregnancy card. If this were the old, scheming, bitchy Yaren, I would assume that she isn't really pregnant, but Zombie Yaren probably is. I frankly hope she loses the baby--she'd be a terrible mother.

Like you, novelera, I was/am mystified by Reyyan's giving Miran the watch. I too thought that when it arrived, it was a present from Miran to her. Have the writers become so bored that they've forgotten what they've written?

I enjoyed the scene between Firat and Zeynep. Like you, novelera, I was surprised that the police didn't come by to investigate the fire Firat set in what seemed to be the middle of the city.

As time goes on, I have less and less patience with scenes between Reyyan and Miran. So often they seem repetitious of earlier scenes, regardless of whether ReyMir are angry or playful or loving. Yawn. I'm glad you finally FF>> through their seemingly endless "sappy expressions of love."

Why does Azize warn Fusun that she will tell her daughter everything in order to turn her against Fusun? Surely Azize must realize that by warning Fusun (and gloating as she does so), she's provoking Fusun to try to stop her, perhaps even kill her. That doesn't seem very smart on the normally savvy Azize's part.

The episode ends with Reyyan again in the hospital, again asking whether the baby is OK, and of course we have to wait until the next episode to learn more. I remain quite puzzled about the way Turkish medicine is presented in this dizi. In an earlier episode, Reyyan is brought to the hospital because of sudden substantial bleeding, but she apparently goes home the same day, and no one seems to ask what was causing the bleeding. And sure enough, a few days later she's back in the hospital after experiencing considerable pain. This time, they do some tests, and the doctor she sees seems quite concerned, but she's nonetheless told she can go home the same day. ???

GENERAL

Hello to everyone!

This is my first comment here. I have to say I'm impressed by the quality of everybody's recaps. I've been reading them for around one month and I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all devoted recappers and commenters. It was very fun reading through telenovelas. I read through Corazón Valiente without watching a single episode and it feels like I've watched every single one of them! (By the way, the jokes are terrific. I've laughed so many times, they're uncountable.) I'm currently learning Spanish (I know very few words) and I was delighted to see that there is an English blog recapping them. Again, thank you for what you do.

I unfortunately cannot help with recapping, even though I would love to. We don't have a Telemundo channel in my country and telenovelas come here after some years. I wish I could help you, the amount of work you do is tremendous.

I have a question: Does anyone know when La Mujer de mi Vida is going to start? It seems interesting and I would love to read it (since I'm reading your posts, I don't actually watch the telenovelas lol. I've watched just a few). I know it's going to start this year, but I can't seem to find when. Maybe Telemundo hasn't yet announced the date, or I'm missing something. If anyone knows, I'll be more than happy to know.

I already love this blog. After a few more telenovelas read, I'm going to become an official novelera :)

Once again, thank you Novelera, Jean, Juanita, Hombre, Bill and everyone else here. Keep up the fantastic work!

Thank you in advance,
Weirdo.

So on POINT with this recap novelera! I tell you, I’m getting dizzy from shaking my head so much! Miran is such a hypocrite! Over and over again we’ve seen Reyyan forgive him, and still Mr Angry bangs goes off on tangents, throws self righteous fits, spits and screams like that child you just love to pinch for his rotten behavior. Does Azize deserve forgiveness?? Maybe not, but neither did you when you made love to your new virgin wife, left her on the ground screaming and pleading for you, and to top it off, being ULTRA humiliated in the town square for something that she never did! Think about it! You were just as much after revenge as Azize was and never stopped to even question the possibility that evil Azize was wrong——-like you were so many times! And yes novelera, I have noticed that Reyyan’s make up is more than usual, and her simpering, silly, almost withdrawing behavior when her husband comes on to her is ridiculous at this point!

Hazar is simply PITIFUL! I just can’t take his crying much more! This is the right time for him to take a vacation with Zehra and the kids and to give us a vacation too! Go to a beautiful, tropical Mediterranean island and bask in the sunlight, forget your problems, restore and renew your energy and give viewerville a much needed BREAK! Thank you very much!

Hahaha! Fusun did look like she needed some Pepto! Lol! Still she manages to threaten and blow off noxious fumes with her now endless list of people to get revenge on! I’m sorry but she stinks, like a barrel full of rotten eggs and I wish Cihan had just shot her and taken her outta her perpetual state needing to kill somebody. It’s boring and I ain’t even the least bit afraid of who she’s gunning for next———YAWN!

Honestly, I don't think Yaren is pregnant. I think she said that so that her dad wouldn’t die before her very eyes, like Harun. So if she ain’t pregnant then that means she’s gotta get pregnant asap! I bet she heads straight for Firat now that he’s happy and in love. That was a very cute gesture by Firat, making the heart ring of fire, but definitely something that you shouldn't just be able to do without a permit or something, lol…..

How many more “emergencies” is Reyyan gonna have?!?!? Tired of this! She needs less stress, more hydration and angry bangs to cool his jets for the rest of her pregnancy. Looks like Dilsah is back though, so stress is off the table. I guess it just sucks being Reyyan…….sigh………

Thanks again novelera!

Hercai..
Novelera , thank you for all the sad, mad details.

I have a theory about why the actress playing Fusun was cast in this unsmiling , evil role. In " Kurulus Osman" she plays the unsmiling , evil wife of a head honcho who gets in the way of the guaypo galan with long, lush locks who plays Osman who is trying his best to form the Ottoman Empire. I think Turkish fans therefore recognized the evil in Fusun as soon as she appeared on their tv screens just as we identify some actors and actresses with their well-known roles as villains. .

Another snarky good recap, novelera, which was more enjoyable than the ep. Thank you. ITA on your side comments, especially when it comes to Rey and Mir. Loved this description of Hazar: “The man can hardly walk because of self-inflicted emotional overload.”

I still get a kick from how these people just show up at each other’s konaks 24/7. Lol, Fusun needing Pepto. Azize should have brought it as a dinner gift.

Juanita, I’m thinking like you—that Hazar will relent and call Azize mama. Maybe it will be on his or her deathbed. I think Fusun might try to kill Hazar again after that dinner convo.

carmella, very interesting twist with Yaren going after Firat. We will find out soon enough if she’s pregnant. A real Harun pregnancy only buys her nine months but if she hooks Firat, she might get her death sentence commuted. I hope Firat is smarter this time. He has a winner in Zeynep.

The doctors in Midyat are quacks. And Azra is an OB to boot.

Police? We don’t need no stinkin’ police! This is Midyat where everyone serves up their own special version of justice, aka revenge. It’s a free for all.

herc

So....how long has Huran been dead. He only slept with Yaren once...very recently right...is it too soon for her to tell she's pregnant. Tho...we all knew she'd play that card...true or not. Easy to do since no one else knows they've only been intimate once...the night before he died.

Welcome, Weirdo! It's SO nice to hear compliments on our efforts from another country. I liked Corazón Valiente a lot. It was the first time I'd seen Ximena Duque in anything and she was great as the tough, female owner of a personal bodyguard company.

Maybe someone has already posted something about La Mujer de mi Vida but it sounds terrific. Ivan Sánchez is one of my favorites as is Angélica Celaya. When I looked it up it said early 2022. So many novelas have had to begin later because of COVID precautions.

Again, I appreciate your comment and compliments very much!

herc

I am a bit late to the commenting party. Thank you Nett for the terrific recap on Wednesday! I enjoyed all the asides and comments in this recap novelera! I think Gonul is very attractive and her hands are lovely. Reyyan is definitely wearing more make up at least on Valentine's Day.

This whole baby on the verge stuff is getting tiresome for sure. Can a real doctor please look at the cause of all the issues Umut is having?

I thought Firat and Zeynep were adorable. He may not believe in Valentine's Day, but he is quite the romantic.

Yaren is not pregnant. Harun has been dead for like a week maybe two.

Azize at dinner with Fusun was excellent. I give Azize credit, she does not give up. I wonder if she will clue Azra in to the Fusun story. She should do that soon.

What can I say about Miran? He is great when he is loving but his crazy mood swings are draining.

Once again, I hope that Umut is okay.

Thank you novelera!

Season 2 Episode 23 - Part 1 of 5

We return to some sort of town festival which must have followed the Mass service as there is discussion about how did Jimena get Oscar to agree to come to both this festival and the Mass. The festival looks like a vendor fair with lots of booths hocking wares. Juan, Oscar and Sarita are walking and talking about how the police have done nothing and resolved nothing in any of the recent incidents – attack at Sara’s, horse rustling. They run into Muriel and Rosario and seem very happy to see Muriel and less so to see Rosario. Sarita and Rosario exchange stiff hellos and Rosario says how wonderful Andres is doing at the bar. Oscar, the only Reyes who hadn’t yet met Muriel asks about her and she’s introduced to him by Rosario as Juan’s brother and Jimena’s husband. Muriel greets him warmly.

Jimena, Norma and Juan David are chatting a little further up and Muriel excuses herself to go say hello. She greets Jimena and Norma with hugs and kisses and tells them she was hoping to see them and have the opportunity to spend some time with them. Jimena says this is the time. The sisters turn to pay the vendor and Muriel finally turns to JD who hasn’t taken his eyes off her since she approached. She tells him she was starting to miss him and he says he felt the same. He tells her she looks beautiful and she says he’s very handsome. She says she hasn’t seen him in awhile and he hasn’t stopped by her house. JD says he’s been very busy but he will be there soon. Muriel asks if Andres told him about her show, and he says he will be there, front row, I promise! She kisses him on the cheek and then goes to remove her lipstick mark saying don’t let me down, and JD says, no, I won’t. Muriel turns (just in time since Rosario was approaching) and tells Norma and Jimena they are invited too. They think her.

Rosario greets and group and says (maybe a bit pointedly?) you all look very happy. Rosario is happy too and she greets JD with a kiss on the cheek that he looks characteristically uncomfortable with. Norma notices and doesn’t look too happy either, Muriel doesn’t seem to notice or care.

Later Oscar is walking and runs into JD with Gaby, he says hello and continues on until he comes to Feliz. Feliz isn’t interested in talking to Oscar until he mentions Adela, but before Oscar can tell him anything he sees something he doesn’t like in the distance and makes a hasty retreat telling Feliz he will find him and talk to him later. Oscar has seen Romina and Duvan and he greets his son warmly but briefly saying he needs to talk to mama. They have the same argument over maintaining discretion but Romina isn’t going to be thrown out of a public place. She’s going to walk around and see who she finds to say hi to. Duvan was supposed to help her in this plot but she turns her back for a second and he takes off. Normally, I’m all about the kids stay close to your parents, but not this time. Run kid! I hope she doesn’t find him.

Jimena is shopping with her sisters and Juan when Oscar comes up with some headache excuse to leave immediately, because if you can’t get rid of one you can get rid of the other. Romina does find Duvan, unfortunately, in a church (I’d be praying too) and she drags him out asking if he’s scared of Jimena or embarrassed to be seen with her, I’m pretty sure it’s both.

Back to the little shack of horrors and Romina is further indoctrinating poor Duvan with the same old crap about how Jimena is stealing their rights and privileges, and whose side are you on…. the woman who raised you all these years or the father who barely recognizes who. (it’s so unpleasant recapping the brain washing of a child! I’ll just say Romina can call Oscar a coward all she wants, and he might even be one; but any person who can weaponize a small child and trick him into doing her dirty work is something much more repulsive than a coward)

Pasion 2

Episode 23 – Part 2 of 5

Jimena checks on Oscar who is lying down to cure the headache. He says the pain killers made him feel better. Jimena asks what’s wrong and he seems more upset than sick, did something happen at the bazar? He denies, denies, denies and then resorts to the ‘worried about the twins’ catchall. Jimena doesn’t believe him but she leaves to let him rest. She is going to go work on her sketches for the collection.

Duvan is riding to go see his new best friend and remembering all the poison his mom placed in his head, her is a jerk. Jimena is a demon. A demon who is happy to see him when he arrives although concerned that Oscar might find out she visits with him and be upset. She greets him and tells him they can’t talk long because her husband is sick and she has to take care of him. Jimena offers Duvan sandwiches and something to drink and Duvan is apprehensive remembering how Romina told him if Jimena found out Oscar was his dad she would attack him.

In the shake Madrina is worried about Duvan and tries to give Romina the third degree. She admits she went to the bazar and she wanted to make a scene, but her stupid, useless son (her words not mine) wouldn’t help her and she will have to beat the coward out of him (again who is a coward?)! Madrina wants to know exactly what Romina is making Duvan do, but she doesn’t tell. Madrina may be a witch but she isn’t comfortable with Romina using Duvan and threatens to leave.

Jimena and Duvan are eating and drinking coffee (who gives a kid coffee?). Jimena asks if he doesn’t like his coffee and he says he does but he needs sugar. Jimena gets up to go get it, and just as we feared Romina has indeed weaponized Duvan successfully, he takes the vile out of his pocket and pours a not small amount of that substance into Jimena’s coffee, quickly hiding the vile again. (That poor child looked so terrified by what he was doing) Jimena returns and her coffee is bitter but unfortunately, the sugar fixes the problem and she drinks up.

That night, Norma is in her room with Juan, very upset and telling her husband she doesn’t trust Rosario. He was right about her interest in JD and she doesn’t like it at all. She feels like Rosario doesn’t even try to hide her interest and she doesn’t care who is around. When she greeted their son today, she practically kissed him on the mouth. Juan says both of their attitudes are suspicious both mostly Rosario’s. There’s nothing wrong with Norma’s motherly intuition and she locks right on it: What if Rosario is pressuring JD? She’s after him and harassing him! Norma says it’s not her place to meddle but she thinks Juan can give him some fatherly advice. Juan says he might need a father and a friend, he will find a way to talk to JD without interfering. Norma says, please, she doesn’t want to have anything to do with that woman.

Muriel and Rosario are having dinner and Muriel asks about her greeting with Sarita. They seemed stiff and Muriel can’t imagine why Sarita seems so nice and sweet. Rosario disagrees, she’s never seen Sara as any of that, more like bitter and harsh. Muriel starts to go to bed but Rosario stops her and tells her about her history with Franco. She says he was the love of her life, she loved him like she has never loved anyone else – not even Muriel’s dad. But even though Franco married Sarita after their breakup she never saw Sara has a rival and had no resentments toward her (this is a bold-faced lie! Rosario was very jealous of Sarita) and if Sara has a problem with her that’s her issue not Rosario’s. Muriel is starting to see there are ties that bind her mom to that family, Rosario agrees, some things draw us closer and some create distance.

Pasion 2

Episode 23 – Part 3 of 5

The next day, Jimena is feeling horrible at work. She thought she could shake it off but no, she looks horrible and Oscar is worried. Feliz shows up because he wants to know what Oscar was going to say about Adela but Oscar tries to put him off again. They are arguing the point when Jimena collapses, they can’t wake her. Oscar is frantic asking for alcohol and an ambulance. Feliz looks horrified too, and leaves quickly.

Madrina finds Duvan at home when he should be at school, because apparently Romina’s revenge won’t wait for silly things like education. Madrina tries to convince Duvan to tell her what’s going on but he says mom told him she would beat him and cut his tongue out if he told and he believes her! Madrina tries and tries, playing the I’m practically your grandma card but she gets nowhere. We do learn that Duvan doesn’t understand what he is doing as he very sincerely tells Madrina that he doesn’t think what mom told him to do was a bad thing. Madrina warns him that sometimes tasks that don’t appear to be bad can be, and he could even end up in jail!

Gunter hangs up the phone quickly as Rosario enters so they can have the same ole you are plotting with my husband behind my back fight. Gunter is warning Samuel that Rosario might be trying to win over Muriel so she will align with her against her dad. Rosario thinks it’s a good idea, together they can win. Gunter….oh who knows, I can only listen to the same song so many times. (Anyone else remember when these two were thick as thieves and Gunter was declaring his undying devotion???) Gunter does think he Muriel and Rosario unite, Muriel would win. Rosario would be converted into a real mother and Muriel would destroy Rosario’s fantasy of a forbidden romance….hmm

Andres is practicing and Muriel is complaining how he knew about the history of their parents but he knew. Andres says yes, he knew, but he wasn’t interested. Muriel admits she’s curious, it sounds like a crazy story, you know like a novela! (LOL) She asks if Andres is like his dad and he says he doesn’t know. People always say Juan David was more like Franco in personality and temperament. Muriel says ‘now I understand why my mom fell in love with him’ and for a minute Andres doesn’t know who she means Franco or Juan David? Muriel says your dad, who else are we talking about? Andres wants to go rehearse and avoid this topic if he can.

Norma is speeding up to the stables again, yelling at to Juan David, this time to tell him about Jimena. They have to leave NOW! Juan David is going to drive because Norma is too nervous.

Rosario sinks to new lows in desperation asking Andres about the situation with JD and whether they talked about it. Andres wants to stay out of it but Rosario wants him to helps her…the long suffering look on Andres’ face was hilarious. Luckily for Andres this request can’t get too far because Sarita calls to inform Andres of Jimena’s collapse. He runs out of there to go to the hospital. Running into Muriel on the way out, and she insists on going with him.

At the hospital, Oscar is pacing and won’t sit with Andres asks but he does when Muriel asks him to sit and calm down. They say how she looked great yesterday and even last night. But suddenly this morning. Oscar is beside himself thinking about Jimena laying on the ground as if she had a stroke or something. Andres reminds his uncle to stay calm. They don’t know anything yet.

Feliz and Matis are talking about Oscar and whether or not he knows anything about Adela. Feliz doesn’t know if he trusts Oscar, Matis doesn’t either; but the situation with Jimena was real and very serious. Feliz seems genuinely impacted by what happened to Jimena. They discuss whether or not Oscar could truly know anything about Adela and Matis doubts it, they looked high and low for her but couldn’t find a trace, how would Oscar?

Pasion 2

Episode 23 – Part 4 of 5

The less-devilish-as-of-late twins are in the fields and Leon tells his brother what Quintina just told him about Tia Jimena. They voice genuine concern for their uncle and their aunt and Leon asks if they should go to the hospital. Eric just says no, let’s wait. Mom and Juan David are on their way and they will call if they need us. (There’s no ‘what about us’ and ‘why don’t they have tell us’ whining? Could these two actually be growing up?)

Norma and JD arrive at the hospital and JD asks for Jimena’s room. Norma notices Muriel and says, ‘Son, look who’s here?’ (Interesting, as Norma noticed that her son may have an interest in the daughter instead of/or along with the mother?) JD turns and there is definitely enough heat in that look JD gives Muriel for mom to notice now if she hasn’t before.

Sara is freaking out because she can’t get ahold of anyone to tell her about Jimena. She wants to drive over, but Gaby tells her she’s too nervous. She convinces her mom to sit and drink some water and tell her everything.

Norma tells Muriel that Jimena is a very healthy woman with good habits so they don’t understand what could be wrong. Muriel says Oscar and Andres said the same. She tells them that Andres and Oscar are in the room with Jimena but she waited outside since it was just family. The doctor arrives and says Norma can go in to see Jimena but JD stays with Muriel since there are already three people in the room.

Left alone, Muriel is about to sitting again in the waiting room when JD comments there’s a restaurant downstairs. He asks if she wants something to drink and she agrees. He offers her his hand and she takes it, they walk down to the cafeteria hand in hand.

Outside now with drinks, JD tells Muriel he’s glad she stayed in San Marcos and he hopes she stays for a long time. Muriel says it depends on her parents because the war between them gets worse every day, she feels like her situation is very unstable until they come to an agreement. JD says well then I’ll just have to tie you down so you can stay with me! (wow) He clarifies, if you would like to I’d like to have the opportunity to get to know each other better, if you want to? She says she’d love to. Each ask the cursory ‘Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend’ questions and each claim to be single and without commitments. Muriel invites JD to come to her practices but JD says he would rather see her away from her mom – just kidding, he wasn’t quite that honest – he actually said he’d rather spend time with her in a private place where they can be alone and get to know each other. She agrees and asks for his number, but Norma and Andres arrive before he can give it.

Jimena is stable but she has to be under observation for two or three days. Andres tells them it wasn’t any kind of attack but a very strange intoxication and they are investigating the cause. Muriel asks if they want to get something to drink but Andres wants to go back to work and he’s guessing Rosario didn’t know Muriel was coming here. Muriel says she called her mom but okay she will leave with Andres. She hugs Norma and tells her to give Jimena her best. Andres says bye to JD and they do a little hand shake. JD tells Muriel it was very nice seeing her and tells her to have a great day. She says you too, and Ciao. And once again I am sure the observant mother doesn’t miss how her son is looking at Muriel.

Episode 23 – Part 5 of 5

Duvan arrives at Oscar and Jimena’s house and is told he can’t see Jimena because she’s in the hospital. He doesn’t seem to completely have the dots connected but he looks worried.

At the Reyes family dinner, Martin cuts straight to the chase and says Jimena was poisoned but Norma says no it’s an intoxication. Martin wisely points out that’s the same thing, and this is one of those times the crazy old man is right. The family discusses how it could have happened and JD wonders if she accidentally mixed her medications but Norma says that’s impossible because Jimena doesn’t like taking medicine and will barely take an Advil. Martin wonders if she got food poisoning at the bazar and goes off on the unhealthiness of that kind of food – which seems kind of odd coming from a man who probably sees alcohol as a food group. Quintina mentions Sara and Gaby were very nervous and Don Martin is super proud of himself because he didn’t even use the word poison to them and he was the one who calmed them down! Leon and JD laughed, and so did I!

Romina is pissed at Duvan because the poison vile is full so he disobeyed her and didn’t Jimena any of it. Duvan tells her he couldn’t because she’s in the hospital. Romina realizes what Duvan hasn’t that just that little bit had a big effect. She declares if she’s the weak she doesn’t deserve to live! Duvan is starting to catch on finally and he asks if Jimena got sick because of that substance and if she could die?!

One more thing before I go: FRANCO FRANCO FRANCO FRANCO, you know, just in case Adriana isn’t the only one with the power to summon a character! :)

I just noticed I called Felix, Feliz all throughout the recap! Oops! He could use a little happiness though. Once again I find this actor so fascinating. He gives away nothing! Is he a criminal mastermind? Or is he a scared kid? At first I wasn't sure, and then I was sure criminal mastermind was lurking behind that impossible to read stare, but now I am not so sure again....

I'm torn between hoping Jimena tells about having lunch with Duvan and someone connects the dots and being horrified by the idea that that little boy is going to be blamed for this. I mean, he did it, but it seems pretty clear it didn't know what he was doing. Romina is a special kind of EVIL!! that poor kid...his mom is a horror show and his 'dad' is too selfish to save him.

However muddy the waters, there's a clear contrast in how JD treats Muriel and Rosario. Rosario he has never sought out, tries to avoid, tries to turn down and then doesn't quite escape. Muriel he is eager and happy to see, he seeks her out, he kissed her on the cheek first, initiated holding hands with her and has now asked her out. Yeah, this is still going to get messy! :)

Excellent recap Darcy! Thank you for every detail that you capture so well! So much going on in this episode too! I feel genuinely bad and scared for Duvan, and your description of Romina as “repulsive” is exact! There’s not a mother gene in her, and I can only imagine how she treated Duvan as a baby! You called her a coward, too, and imo Oscar is an even bigger one! How he can leave his “son” with that crass, nasty, and vile beyond vile woman makes me find Oscar even more disgusting! He may not know exactly how evil Romina is, but he definitely knows that she’s far from being mother of the year! How he cannot own up to having a son to his wife just adds to how unappealing he is as a man. Poor Duvan! A disgusting mother, and half ass father has dealt Duvan a bad hand in the parent department. Neither one of the deserves him!

I’m glad someone’s instinct is also working, as in Norma! She caught onto the vibes quickly and let Juan Sr know asap! I’m sure she would dish Rosario a big bowl of kick ass if she had to, but I also think it’s best if she lets her husband handle it. Rosario is bold, and will only get bolder with every encounter that she has with JD. JD cannot handle a woman like Rosario on his own, and although he was most certainly flattered at first, his now tense expression every time Rosario is near, says it all. I agree, this will get messy, but once JD and Muriel develop a solid relationship, I hope he can and will come clean with her.

There is something about Felix that seems dark and concealed on the one hand, but definitely vulnerable on the other. I hope his intentions toward his sister aren’t suspect. I guess we’ll see.

It seems as if Franco will be making more appearances! Hope so too!

Thank you again Darcy!

Season 2 Episode 24 – Friday – Part 1 of 5

It’s evening and Sara has called Oscar to get an update on Jimena. She’s very happy to hear her sister is feeling better and can’t wait to go see her tomorrow. Oscar describes to Sara how scared he was when he saw Jimena on the floor. He realized his whole life could change in a fraction of a second. He feels like he could lose anything except for Jimena, in that moment, he realized how much he truly loves her. This clearly effects Sarita, who did lose the love of her life, suddenly and she rushes to get off the phone. She tells her brother-in-law she understands him perfectly and when she sees him, she will give him a big hug because he needs it.

Gabriela arrives at Sarita’s house, with Demetrio sigh, and she’s very upset that she just found out about Jimena and no one had told her! She thinks Jimena is dying and everyone is punishing her by not letting her know! Sarita calms her mom down, Jimena has food poisoning, she isn’t dying. Gabriela is relived and she tells Sarita and Gaby that Demetrio has news too. Demetrio tries to demur but ultimately tells them that Nino too, is going to recover! It was touch and go for a while and the doctors didn’t think he would make it, but he’s turned the corner. Gaby voices how strange she finds it that Demetrio, who was so determined a while ago to convince everyone Nino was no good, is so interested in Nino’s recovery and watching it so closely. Gabriela reproaches her, of course, for not falling down at Demetrio’s feet and kissing the ground he walks on (but at least she did it in a less shrill tone this time) and even Sara looks uncertain.

The next morning, Oscar has eaten very little breakfast and is rushing out of the house to go see Jimena before work when he notices Romina lurking. Romina adjusts clothing by lifting and tucking as if it mattered. Oscar reacts with the predictable anger and tells her to get lost. She’s there for her child support since she hasn’t received a cent in three months. Oscar wants her to leave right now and he will give her all the money he tries to get her into the car but she brought her own car.

Gaby is rushing around getting ready and mumbling to herself. Sarita is eating breakfast alone and she calls out Gaby is running late for class and she always leaves her to eat alone. Gaby tells her mom she is trying to hurry so she can go visit Nino before class. Sara asks if Nino is more important than Aunt Jimena right now, but Gaby points out Jimena has a whole family of people eager to see her and Nino only has Gaby. Sara begs her daughter to sit down for just five minutes (she doesn’t seem to like being alone) and she does but the conversation turns to Demetrio. Sara is worried they are judging him too quickly and too harshly. She hates to prejudge people and she doesn’t want to be unfair. Gaby is very sure Demetrio is the snake she thinks he is and isn’t the least bit concerned that she could be wrong. The man is trying to deceive them. Sara thinks they should give him a chance but be watchful and see how far they can or can’t trust him. Gaby isn’t convinced, she rushes off.

Oscar is still arguing with Romina. He gives her all the cash he has on him and says he’ll bring the rest this afternoon after work. He asks her to please never come to his house again. Oscar reminds her that he has asked many times for her to set up a bank account so he can have the money automatically transferred but Romina says no way. She is not going to give him the easy out so he can avoid seeing her, he will come in person every month and deal with his responsibilities. She threatens she could make it every week. Oscar says she just loves to provoke him and Romina responds that she’s preparing him for the future, you never know when Jimena might die and Romina would have to replace her! (hmm…)

Season 2 Episode 24 – Part 2 of 5

The Twins arrive just as Romina is leaving and Oscar makes some excuse about checking the land. The twins were coming to find Uncle Oscar to go visit Aunt Jimena and they go right away. Leon comments Oscar looks very nervous and Oscar says he feels horrible as if all his problems crashed down on top of him at the same time. Eric feels bad and he apologizes because he knows that he and Leon had a part in all the stress with their problems, Leon agrees. He thinks Tio should forget about their issues at least until after Tia Jimena recovers. Oscar says of course not, I will never forget about you two. By the way, has the extortionist called back? Not yet. Oscar thinks they should go to the cops now and tell them everything but Eric thinks they should wait the three days to see what supposed proof this guy has. Leon agrees, if they don’t hear back then they will go straight to the police.

Jimena is awake but not feeling well, her head and back hurt. Oscar wishes she could recover at home but Jimena wants to be in the hospital. She is nervous and doesn’t understand what happened she wants them to figure it out. Leon’s phone beeps a message and Eric suggests his aunt is very delicate and needs to rest she shouldn’t be talking. Jimena says Eric is a sweetheart and she thanks both of her nephews for coming. Leon looks very uncomfortable and excuses himself quickly, Eric noticed his brother’s mood and follows. Aunt and Uncle look concerned, but say nothing.

Out in the hallway, Eric catches up to Leon and confronts him. Leon gives him the bad news. He received a text from the extortionist, a video! They rush outside to watch it. The video shows Eric and Leon beating up the Professor and tying him to a chair. Eric and Leon are very impacted and freaked out by the video. (I am less impressed. It looks bad, sure, but that video is inside a building not outside by the lake that the Professor was killed in, it’s not exactly the smoking gun as more as murder evidence goes) Eric thinks they are screwed and he never imagined this could happen. Leon wants to know what they are going to do? Eric doesn’t know but if he knew who that bastard was, he’d kill him! Leon thinks there’s only one thing they can do, they need to shoot themselves??? Eric jumps in quickly, no, no, no, what are you talking about? No, we calm down and we analyze the video very carefully.

Oscar wants to know what could have caused Jimena’s reaction. A medicine, he asks his wife. Or did Berta give you something different to eat or drink? Jimena flashes back to the bitter coffee but says nothing. In fact, she says she doesn’t think it was anything she ate or drink. She has no idea but it was horrible. She almost died.
Demetrio is trying to press charges against Nino and the officer, like Gaby, finds it very strange that he has gone from trying to save his life to trying to condemn him overnight! Demetrio claims he just wants justice, the boy is a thief. What’s the rush? The officer says based on his medical records he will be in the hospital for some time. Plenty of time to investigate. Demetrio storms out disgusted that he can’t count on the police to do his dirty work.

Gaby goes to see Nino. Visitors are prohibited but the nurse took pity on her. Nino is happy to see Gaby and worried about his family. Gaby tells him the twins went and saw them. They gave them provisions and money and they will take care of them, don’t worry. She says the twins are wonderful angels (I wouldn’t go that far but they do seem rather devil-light lately) and Nino doesn’t know how he can repay them. Gaby says you don’t have to repay anything, just recover. Nino did mention he couldn’t see well, don’t know if that’s going to an issue going forward or if he’s just still healing.

Season 2 Episode 24 – Part 3 of 5

Headed back to the ranch and Oscar notes the boys are acting weird. He wants to know if something happened during their visit to Jimena, but they claim they are just worried about their aunt. Oscar wonders if Adela has anything to do with the extortionist and the twins say they wondered the same, this topic has them very nervous. Oscar wants to go to the police immediately but the twins talk him out of it.

Muriel is admiring her new ring and asking Gunter for his opinion. They discuss going to the hospital to see Andres’ aunt and Gunter encourages Muriel to go have breakfast with her mom. She’s at the table and waiting for you, Muriel says that’s mom for you, always having breakfast when it’s almost dinner time.

JD is exercising the horses and Juan and Norma are watching him. Admiring this technique and Juan says he’s been at it all morning and with enthusiasm. Norma says he is always like this at fair time, reminds me of someone else I know. Juan jokes who? And Norma says he’s just like you. Quintina comes with something to drink and Juan asks about the twins, he hasn’t seen them all day. Norma says they went to visit Jimena but they should be back by now. Quintina says they came back, but they were in horrible moods and fighting, they went and cooped themselves up in their rooms.

The twins are watching the video again and again and getting more and more upset. I still don’t see anything that could be considered proof of murder, but they are very worried. How did this happen? Who is this bastard and how could he have recorded us? Where was he hiding? Eric thinks this evidence can take them down and he wants to keep watching. Leon thinks they should stop watching but Eric thinks they should analyze every second of it to see if there’s anything in it that could help them. Leon asks what if it wasn’t the extortionist who recorded it? What if it was Adela Carreno? (What if Adela Carreno IS the extortionist??? I mean it’s obviously a manipulated voice it could be male or female) Eric doesn’t think it could be true, if Adela had been there, she never would have let us beat her dad. Leon isn’t so sure; she might hate him as much as we do. Eric says she might have hated him but she was a timid woman who let her father beat and humiliate her, just like her brother Felix. Eric says ‘this is very difficult, I don’t know if we can do this, Leon.’ What are we going to tell Uncle Oscar?

Oscar is riding toward Romina’s and remembering Franco (Yes, we get a new Franco sighting!!!) The brothers meet in the field and Franco is checking on something with his horse. Franco tells Oscar he wants to thank him for everything he does for the sons of Juan and Norma. Oscar says he feels the same about Gaby and Andres too. Franco says if anything ever happens to me, I want you to take care of my kids. Oscar is concerned and asks what could happen and Franco says no, nothing, I am just speaking in general you can never predict life (his face may have suggested that he was worried something would happen though, maybe he saw coming whatever did happen?) Franco tells Oscar he wants him to promise to always be the same Oscar he has always been. (I love Franco, but I disagree, Oscar should grow up and change drastically) Oscar asks again if he’s hiding something but Franco blows it off. Last one home buys dinner, he says and they take off on a horse race.

Season 2 Episode 24 – Part 4 of 5

Rosario and Muriel are eating and Rosario comments Andres took off like a bat out of hell when he heard something was happening with his Aunt Jimena. Muriel says he wasn’t as fast as his Uncle Oscar, who was beside himself with worry. Muriel thinks they make a lovely couple and Rosario agrees, they are a very good-looking couple too. Rosario worries Muriel might be getting too attached to the Reyes family but Muriel doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Muriel asks her mom, since Franco was the love of your life, what do you think would happen if he returned? Would you fall in love again? Rosario doesn’t think so. She fell in love with a young passionate man and he’s probably changed a lot over the years just like she has. No, if Franco returned, she doubts very much anything would be there between them. Muriel looks pleased with this answer until Rosario adds, ‘maybe I’ll fall in love with the person you’d least expect.’

Oscar arrives and tries to give Romina the rest of the money. She wants him to come in, but he wants to escape as quickly as humanly possible. She blackmails him with ‘you haven’t seen your son in a while’ and he relents. They come in and the table is set because she is delusional enough to believe he would have dinner with them. Oscar refuses so much as a drink, and it’s probably a good thing in that house! They start the same song of Oscar trying to threaten Romina to never go to his house and respect his wife, and Romina wasting her time trying to seduce Oscar. Romina finally gives up and calls Duvan to say hello to his dad. Oscar takes Duvan outside and Romina downs the entire glass of whatever was set at Oscar’s plate so I guess it wasn’t poisoned.

Dinner at Casa de Juan, and Quintina comments that the twins are acting weird, they are too quiet. Eric says we have a headache and JD comments both of you have a headache? Leon rather comically notes they are twins, what do you expect? Juan says they should talk, get it out, don’t let your problems fester and get worse. Eric says even if they did have problems, they would need to solve them themselves, they are adults not children. Norma disagrees, that’s what family is for! To help and support them. Eric claims they were thinking about the family of Nino and how they need to get them out of that neighborhood. JD comments they need Nino to agree to that since the family won’t leave without Nino. Ever intuitive Juan doesn’t believe that is the problem that truly has his sons worried. But they insist it is.

Oscar tries to get Duvan who seems upset with him, to open up. He asks if Duvan ever saw Jimena and he says yes, he saw her at the Bazar and she’s very pretty. Oscar says she has a good heart too, she’s a good person. It quickly becomes clear what Romina has been feeding Duvan as he mentions Jimena isn’t as good as his mom and dad shouldn’t have changed Romina for Jimena; and also, that Jimena can’t give Oscar children but Romina has. Oscar explains that Jimena didn’t take Romina’s place, Oscar was married to Jimena before he met Romina. He can’t marry Romina because he doesn’t love her, Duvan will understand this when he’s older. Duvan had claimed to only have seen Jimena once, but he gives himself away when he comments he hopes Jimena feels better soon and gets to come home. But Oscar just thinks he’s been told something he doesn’t realize his son personally saw Jimena.

The bar is hopping because the fairs are bringing in the crowds. Rosario and Pancha are celebrating being the most popular bar in town, and talking about all the work and fun they will have during tourist season. Pancha says she might meet her other half and take the plunge with him! Rosario is shocked, into marriage? Well at least into the pool!! LOL The ladies laugh and poor a celebratory drink.

Season 2 Episode 24 – Part 5 of 5

Gunter laments the horrible crowd and tries to get Muriel to keep him company in his bad mood but she isn’t interested in talking. Gunter asks about Muriel finding love but she doesn’t want his advice, he was his mother’s confidant and look what a disaster her love life is. Muriel wants him to leave so she can call Juan David (although she doesn’t tell him this), and she tells him as he leaves, she might find love one day. After he’s out of earshot, she adds what you don’t know is I already have. Muriel calls JD who is happy to hear from her. No, she isn’t bothering him, she can call whenever she wants!

Back in the bar everyone is having a great time and Rosario calls Andres over to her table and introduces him to her friend, Albin Duarte. Is there a spark here? They sit and enjoy themselves.

One of the employees is talking to Eric about some people wanting to rent out stables and Eric says he can imagine. This time of year, business is booming. But unfortunately, he and Leon don’t have time right now to attend to clients. The employee asks about talking to Juan, but Eric says no way, leave him alone! (Are Eric and Leon running a side business out of Papa’s ranch without his knowledge???)

Leon is alone in his room and gets another mystery call. The extortionist gives him 20 days to get the money together. He wants it in cash. Leon tells the caller if he knew them well, he’d know they aren’t millionaires. The money is in a family trust and Leon and Eric don’t have access to it. The mystery caller isn’t interested in his excuses, they just want their money, they don’t care how the boys get it. They indicate they have other videos and if they don’t get their money, that video and the others will end up in the hands of the police AND all-over social media! (Oh the horror, not Social Media!!!)

And there our saga ends for another week!

GENERAL

Weirdo, welcome! This blog is a wonderful oasis and a delightful place to spend time! Feel free to join us in watching or reading ;), Pasion de Gavilanes! It's a Telemundo show and we are only 24 episodes in so it started recently. Don't be fooled by the 'second season' description. The first season of this show was recorded 20 years ago and the current show is in no way an immediate continuation of what came before. This is very much a new story and we would love to have you join us!

Welcome again! :)

GENERAL

Thank you, Darcy!

That's actually a good idea. Thanks for informing me that Pasión de Gavilanes 2 isn't an immediate continuation of the previous one. I'll probably read the basic plot of the first season, the character names e.t.c. to have at least a basic idea.

Thanks again!

Herc S2 #82 part 1

Reyyan is released from the hospital even though the doctor has suspicions that something isn’t right. [Really?] At least they took some tests, and the results will be in tomorrow. Reyyan downplays it when she meets Miran out in the lobby—the baby’s fine, they gave me something for the pain, they took some tests, it’s nothing, I need to rest. Miran is relieved.

Grannie Sukran arrives at Hopeless Mansion with Dilsah and Azra. It’s nice to see her again. Azra gets a call. She’s been assigned to Midyat State Hospital, and she’s thrilled. Dilsah is not, as we remember that she pleaded with Azra to go back to Istanbul.

Everyone heads to the kitchen for brekkie where there is a menemen contest between Asiye and Lutfu. Onions v. no onions. [I grew up eating my grandpa’s version of this dish. I still make it. If you google, you will find many recipes. If you love eggs and tomatoes, I suggest you try it.] Lutfu’s “molecular” menemen gets a slight edge over Asiye’s.

Rey excuses herself from the table to go rest and the talk turns to Azra staying in Midyat. Dilsah is visibly unhappy. Azra picks up on it. Azra excuses herself to do some paperwork.

Rey sheds worried tears while looking at Umut’s ultrasound. Miran walks in and notices she is upset. Tell me what’s wrong, he asks. She claims she got emotional while looking at the pic. He presses, you’re not hiding anything, are you?

Switch to a brooding Azat. He recalls the kiss he shared with Gonul. Then to the brooding Gonul who is oblivious to Seyda serving her breakfast. He asks her, who has upset you? No one, she replies. He doesn’t believe that and Gonul changes the subject. She asks if anyone else is home. Seyda tells her that Fusun is angry again and she left. He has no idea where she went.

Back to ReyMir. Mir wants an answer. Rey says, it’s not about us, but it affects us indirectly. She tells him that Fusun has a daughter. Miran wonders how that affects them. Only Azize knows who and where she is, Rey explains, and for some reason she hasn’t told anyone, not even Fusun. Rey thinks that is the reason for their animosity.

Azize Aslanbey, Miran says, see? She keeps affecting and ruining our lives and you ask me to give her a chance. She is never going to change. Rey replies, she (Azize) started to change the day she found out you were her grandson. She turned into someone who would do anything for you. [too bad she went about it the wrong way]

Miran doesn’t want to hear it. Reyyan believes that Azize will give Fusun her daughter and this war will end. Azize promised. She adds, you promised, too… for Umut… give Azize a chance. [I fear it’s wishful thinking on Rey’s part] And what do you know, Dilsah has been listening to this convo through the porous door.

Miran reluctantly agrees, which surprises Reyyan. He will give Azize a chance because Rey wants it. Dilsah sighs with disappointment. If she wants to prove she’s truly changed, Miran states, she will give Fusun’s daughter back. Rey hugs and kisses Miran and thanks him for giving Azize a chance.

Rey gets a call from the doctor who asks her to come to the hospital. Miran is ready to go but Reyyan tells him she can go alone if he is busy. Miran answers that nothing is more important than his wife and son. Let’s go. Dilsah hurries off to her room across the way before she is discovered.

Rey is stopped on her way out by an angry Dilsah, who pins her against a wall. What are you trying to do, she accuses, what are you plotting?! Rey is shocked, what do you mean? You’re trying to fix things between Miran and Azize, Dilsah replies. Why? I know how it looks, Rey explains, but if they are okay, if Miran forgives Azize, everything will be much better.

Herc S2 #82 part 2

Dilsah sees it differently. No place where Azize is can ever be better, she tells Rey. Don’t you understand that? Haven’t I suffered enough? It is enough, Rey emphatically responds. That’s why I want all this to end! Don’t confuse my son, Dilsah warns, don’t tell him to give Azize a chance.

Sukran rushes out as fast as she can to intervene. Dilsah! What are you doing? Let go of her! Dilsah shouts at her mother not to interfere. Rey says, I’m just trying to end the hate. Not for Azize, but I’m doing this for my son. Dilsah accuses Rey of taking advantage of Miran’s love. You have him in the palm of your hand, she tells Rey.

Suddenly out of nowhere, eye popping and finger pointing Zehra shows up on the patio to defend her daughter. [this made me laugh] You can’t talk to my daughter like that, Dilsah! How dare you! Sukran pleads with Dilsah to stop. Dilsah isn’t finished. I thought I was being unfair to you, she tells Rey, but I was wrong. Don’t confuse my son… don’t do it. If you make the slightest effort to get Miran to forgive that woman… Zehra interrupts, what will happen? What if she does?

Control yourself, Dilsah Hanım, Zehra demands. You can’t corner Reyyan like this and shove her around every chance you get. Dilsah ignores Zehra and continues. Reyyan, if you play with my son’s mind, you won’t be any different than Azize. Rey tells Dilsah to shut up and shouts, you can’t compare me to Azize! Dilsah raises her hand to strike Rey but is held back by Miran. Mom! At the same time, we see Hazar come out on the Sad balcony and spots the commotion across and below.

Miran is stunned at his mother’s behavior. He huffs and puffs, then cautions his mother. You’re my mother. I missed you for years, but don’t do this. Even if you are my mother, I won’t allow it. He’s still holding her arm. Dilsah defends her actions saying, after what Azize has done to us, Reyyan is trying to get you to forgive her. Miran replies, Reyyan hasn’t hurt anyone even though she’s been hurt. The woman you were going to hit, is my love, my best friend, my other half, my confidant, and the mother of my son. Reyyan is my everything. He warns her not to open a wound like this that will not heal. If you hurt Reyyan, you will break my heart. ReyMir leave the konak.

Zehra comes out to their car. She asks Rey if she wants her to come along. Rey says it’s not necessary, Miran will be with her. Miran admits to Zehra that she was right. I’m starting to learn from my mistakes, he assures her, just know that I won’t leave Reyyan no matter what. He apologizes for Dilsah's behavior.

ReyMir drive off and Hazar shows up. He’s alarmed at what he saw. Dilsah appears on the konak steps. He asks Dilsah why she’s crying. Sukran also shows up outside. Zehra says, don’t be fooled by this woman’s tears. Her life may have been terrible, but my daughter isn’t to blame for that in the least. Hazar wants to know why Zehra said this. Zehra answers with a question, do you think it’s okay for her to try to hit our daughter?

Hazar gives Dilsah an astonished look… why did you try to hit Reyyan? No matter what she did, she doesn’t deserve that. Zehra tells some truths. Dilsah Hanım stabbed Azize Aslanbey. My daughter chose to hide everything even if it meant getting into trouble with her husband. Hazar is shocked again. He asks Dilsah if this is true. Dilsah doesn’t answer and Sukran quickly leads her daughter away. She turns to back to Hazar and says Dilsah is not well and is getting worse. Hazar and Zehra go for a walk.

Herc S2 #82 part 3

Dilsah tells Sukran, no one can keep my son or daughter away from me. No one. Don’t do this to yourself, Sukran pleads, you’re hurting yourself. You found your son after years, don’t lose him again. Asiye is eavesdropping and is phoning in a report I assume is to Mahfuz. Reyyan is fine, she says, Miran protected her, but Dilsah is not well. She tells him to stay calm, stay close and she will let him know when the mansion is available. [maybe when the coast is clear for a visit?]

Azize is alone in her room and addresses the absent Fusun. You found out that Azra is your daughter, but that’s not all. You’re a smart woman. But not smart enough to know I will have the final say. Azize opens a chest and proceeds to look through it.

She continues, we both know your next move. You’ll slowly get closer to your daughter and try to show her that you’re not the woman she thinks you are. You’ll try to be a good mother as if you hadn’t abandoned her. There is a chance Azra may believe you and want to get to know you. On that day, I will give your daughter this letter, which was written by her father.

Azize picks up the letter. You’ll see, Fusun. You’ll know what it’s like to lose as you try to win over your daughter. One day my son will call me mother, but your daughter won’t even go to your funeral. I can keep waiting. Meanwhile, try to earn your daughter’s trust. Azize places the letter back in its hiding place.

Fusun arrives out front of the Sad konak. She phones Yaren, you may come out, we have an appointment. Let’s see if our baby is okay. We will find out right away. Fusun looks longingly over to the Hopeless konak. My Gunes, are you there? Are you okay, dear? Are you happy? Her face changes as she says, I set everything aside, including my own daughter. Now the whole truth will finally be revealed, and I’ll deal with you. [does she mean Azize? And what is this truth?]

Yaren and Handan make their way downstairs to the patio. Handan comments that Fusun made the doctor appointment quickly because she believes Yaren isn’t pregnant. Yaren says Fusun is right. I lied, she tells her mom, I’m not pregnant. Uh, oh. Handan is alarmed. Yaren explains she lied so Cihan wouldn’t kill Fusun. Fusun appears on the patio. Handan excuses herself and makes a call to Cihan while Yaren leaves the konak with Fusun. Cihan doesn’t answer and Handan panics.

Rey meets privately with the doctor. She puts on a brave face and asks, there’s nothing to worry about, is there? I’d love to be able to say that, the doctor replies. Rey is worried. What is it? The doctor averts her eyes.

We cut to Miran at the hospital front desk. He gets a call from Firat who informs him there is an accounting problem at the company. Due to the situation with Rey and Umut, Miran wants Firat to take care of it, but he asks for details. Money is missing from the safe, Firat says, a large amount of money was taken. It was Cihan Sadoglu and he put it in his personal account. Miran says he will be there as soon as Rey is finished. Firat hopes Miran can make a meeting in the afternoon. Miran can’t promise. Firat says they must have the meeting. He’s setting it at six and tells Miran to come if he can.

Back to Rey’s appointment. The doctor is ready to call Miran in for the results, but Rey stops her. She doesn’t want him to see her in this state. The doctor says she knows this is very hard. I can’t hide this from your husband, she tells Rey. Rey tearfully says she will be the one to tell Miran, but it’s too soon now. You know we don’t have much time, the doctor replies. Rey knows and she will tell him as soon as she can. I’ll come back with him later and you can tell him, too. But let’s not tell him here. Let me tell him at home. Rey cries.

Herc S2 #82 part 4

Hazar and Zehra return home. Hazar wants to go rest, but Zehra wants to talk like they used to do. Hazar launches into a rant. What am I supposed to say, he asks? You know what my father has done. He hid the truth! My childhood was a lie. There’s the mother who raised him and his real mom who tried to kill him. Look at Dilsah, he says, my son is miserable. His mother isn’t good for him or herself. She tried to hit my daughter! What can I say?! There’s nothing I can do!

Zehra tries to calm him. What you are going through is hard. Azize Aslanbey being your mother… I’m sorry. But we have to think of our daughter first. Dilsah isn’t well. She needs treatment immediately. No one can try to hit my daughter. I won’t allow anyone to hurt her. Hazar nods and agrees. Zehra continues, from now on, I won’t be patient and I won’t be quiet.

Rey comes out to the lobby with the doctor. He wonders why he wasn’t called in. Rey tells him she is fine and so is Umut. Rey looks to the doctor to back her up. She does and adds that she wants to see Rey again as soon as possible. Miran gets concerned. Looks are exchanged between Rey and the doctor. The doctor explains at this point, checkups are more frequent. Miran is satisfied with the answer.

Azra meets with a doctor about her assignment at Midyat hospital. He’s very happy to have her onboard. Outside the office, Azra tells herself, this is the first step. Now to the second. She makes a call. We have to talk. Today. [who could this be?]

Fusun brings Yaren and Handan back to the Aslanbey konak. Handan thought they were going to the hospital. Nope, Fusun has called in a midwife who is an old friend she trusts. Panic time for Yaren and Handan. No way to cheat their way out of this. [I’m willing to bet that Yaren is really pregnant]

On the ride home, Rey is quiet. She’s thinking about the doctor appointment. She tells Miran he will be a very good father to Umut [I have doubts about that] Miran stops the car. We’re going to be a great family, he says, all of us together. Rey gets emotional. He gets scared. Did the doctor say something bad? She shoots back, the doctor didn’t say anything. I’m fine, we’re fine. She blames her sensitivity on being pregnant and tells him to deal with it. In the Turkish, he answered with the saying translated as: the lover tries to achieve, and his lover is capricious.

Rey reminds him of their time at Gobeklitepe, when they made wishes with rocks at the wishing tree. She tells him she wished he would be the father of her children. He’s happy, the wish came true. In a few months, he says, I’ll be your child’s father.
She’s emotional again. She takes his hand. And you’ll be the most understanding, best father in the world. A father who learned kindness and understanding from his wife, Miran replies. He places his hand on Rey’s baby bump and says, my son and I will learn a lot from you Reyyan Hanım.

Rey says they shouldn’t waste time anymore. She wants to start working on Umut’s room. Miran looks at his watch [yes, that watch] and says we have to appreciate time, let’s begin. Rey interjects, but first, I’d like to visit someone. Miran would rather work on Umut’s room. Rey says in order for Umut to sleep peacefully in that room, we have to do this first. Miran nods and drives off. [I’m beginning to think that Rey’s life is in danger, not necessarily the baby’s.]

ReyMir show up at Esma’s to see Azize. Rey reminds him to stay calm, he promised. [we know how that goes…]

Herc S2 #82 part 5

Meanwhile, Handan is still trying to get a hold of Cihan with no luck. Seyda runs over to her and begs her to get him out of there. Handan says we will all be leaving, whether on our own or getting kicked out, only God knows.

Fusun’s henchie tells her that Gonul met with Azat. She tells the henchie that she will take care of that later, meantime he is to keep watching Gonul.

Handan finally gets through to Cihan and fills him in on Yaren’s lie and the midwife exam. Get here now, she tells him, she’s going to kill my daughter. Cihan tells Handan to relax and don’t leave until he gets there. Firat stops Cihan from leaving. He tells him about the meeting at six with the board members. Cihan says fine then rushes off.
Fusun calls Handan over. What’s wrong, she asks, are you afraid? Handan says she’s just feeling cold. But Fusun senses Handan’s anxiousness.

Azize is thrilled to see ReyMir. She invites them to eat. Esma can prepare…. Miran sternly interrupts, we aren’t here to eat or chat. We came to say something, and we are leaving. Azize is listening. Miran starts, Fusun has a daughter, and you took her away from her. You took my family from me for revenge. I understand. But why that girl?

I only protected her, Azize replies, because her mother abandoned her when she was born. Return Fusun’s daughter, Miran demands. Find that girl and bring her back. You’ll end your animosity with Fusun. No one will pay for it because they are your blood. My child won’t pay for any of that either, alright?

And we are out.

Another amazing recap with funny asides dondi356, thank you! I had no idea what menemen was, so thank you for sharing the story about your grandpa’s recipe. I am not an egg person, so I think I will pass.

It was nice to see Good Grannie back in the mix, too bad she has to deal with her crazy daughter. Those porous doors continue to be a menace for those crucial, confidential conversations. Dilsah needs professional help. Zehra is the only one who keeps saying this.

I did find it interesting that at the beginning of this dizi, Hazar and Zehra were okay with GT and everyone else smacking Reyyan around, now they stand up for her.

It appears that Umut is okay, but it is Reyyan who isn’t. Why is she suddenly telling Miran he will be father of the decade? These Midyat doctors suck.

Glad to see Miran stand up for Reyyan so vehemently to Dilsah. Is it too soon to hope he might be changing for the better? Never mind, I think we all know the answer to that question.

So now we have yet another letter from the past pop back up. Sounds like Azize’s version of the Azra story may be correct. Who did Azra call after her meeting at the hospital? Maybe Azize?

Why did Handan just let Yaren get poked and prodded by that scary looking midwife? I hope she washed her hands at least for the “inspection.”

Thanks again dondi356!

Hercai

Dondi, thanks for a well-written recap of all the drama.

I have so many questions . I have no idea where this story is headed.

Does Dilsah know that Azar is Fusun's daughter ? If so, how did she find out? Did Azz tell her, and if so, why would she tell her.

Dilsah is going down a slippery slope while Zehra defends Rey and Hazar and Shukrun try to reason with ber. ( Autocorrect changed Hazar to Hazard ....it's not wrong .)

What does Fusun want with Gonul ? ( Autocorrect prefers Vinyl.)

So now, on top of everything else, Cihan has stolen money.

I hope the baby and Rey are both okay . Rey has been through enough.

Does anyone know how many episodes are left?

Wow! Another marvellous recap, dondi356! Thanks VERY much. I especially loved your terrific, snarky comments, such as "Rey reminds him to stay calm, he promised. [we know how that goes…]" Yes, we certainly do know how that goes, since we see it over and over and over again. Sigh. I also enjoyed your description of "eye popping and finger pointing Zehra."

I'm always suspicious of the things characters promise will always or never happen. In last night's episode, I was surprised to hear Miran assure Zehra "I won’t leave Reyyan no matter what." Nothing at that point seemed to me to have prompted his remark, and so I have now begun to wonder whether Miran will leave Reyyan, at least for a while.

Both Dilsah and Asiye were honing their eavesdropping skills in last night's episode. But what most struck me was what apparently wasn't heard. As Yaren fearfully goes down the stairs with Handan to meet Fusun, Yaren tells her mother that she lied about being pregnant. She says this loud enough that I was expecting Fusun to have heard her, but apparently she didn't. Later, when Handan finally reaches Cihan on the phone, Fusun is standing not all that far away, but again she fails to hear what is being said. Will it turn out that Fusun is hard of hearing, or is it just inept directing by whoever made this dizi?

I find myself going back and forth about whether Yaren really is pregnant. On the one hand, if she is, it's too soon for her to know this, so she is probably just playing the pregnancy card to stop everyone from shooting each other and buy herself some time. But on the other hand, the more frightened she became about Fusun finding out she lied, and the more panicked her mother became as well, the more possible it seemed that she might indeed be pregnant after all, as you predict, dondi.

OK, so how did Azize manage to have what must be an incriminating letter written by Fusun's husband, or, if not husband, at least the man who has fathered her children? Azize puts the CIA and FBI and NSA to shame.

Finally, what dire health problem is Reyyan hiding? Whatever it is, if this were a telenovela, I'd assume that there would be a crisis and much angst, but ultimately all would be well. But I gather that dizis can at times be more hard-hearted. Also, I can't decide whether Reyyan's wish to finish decorating Umut's room right now is because she fears she won't be able to do so once he is born, or because she superstitiously feels that if the room is ready, God/the gods won't let him die. Arrgh.

Another stellar recap dondi356 with some much needed fun added! I, too, am wondering where this story is heading now??? Reyyan obviously has got something serious going on, so we’re going around the “I’ve got a secret” corner again! I’m really tired of it! And I also caught the drift when Reyyan was telling Miran what a great father he’s going to be to Umut——-as if she won’t be around??? But we all know that if Reyyan won’t be around, neither will Miran cause he can’t live if she doesn’t, and they will jump together——-as they both so often pledged to one another! So what now?

Hazar is a WRECK!

Dilsah is CRAZY——-here goes another one!

Fusun is a SADIST——- pure and simple……..

I have no idea where they’re going with Cihan, Handan or Yaren, but I hope Azat escapes with Gonul and takes his baby sister with him!

Zehra has become SUPERMOM on the scene! I guess living next door to your daughter has its benefits, lol!

I feel so confused and kinda really want to stop now. Too much time invested though, so I’ll make it to the end come what may!

Thanks again for your well written recap dondi356. The recaps, especially as of late, make continuing the dizi worth it!

Pasion

Great recap Darcy, thank you! They spent a lot of time on the twins and their dilemna this episode, and while they still aren’t my favorite characters to focus on, the extortionist, and who he/she might be, has me very intrigued. One of the most frustrating things for me is how everyone holds onto secrets and won’t turn to their closest family members for help. Between Juan and Oscar, Juan wins hands down as the person I would go to for help. Oscar doesn’t make sense to me, and neither do his intentions. He just doesn’t appear to be a very smart person, and is all over the place with Romina and Duvan, Jimena’s current illness, Felix, and the twins. He gives me the impression that he will screw everything up!

I really hope Sarita wasn’t serious about giving Demetrio a chance———Big Mistake! He’s still a CREEP with a capital “C!” I would always be giving him the side eye, especially around Gaby! He’s Gabriela’s friend and that’s the way it would have to stay!

Looks like there may be a love interest for Andres?!?! Hmmmmm……..

Thanks again Darcy! Your recaps are awesome!

Pasion

Thank you Carmella, and I agree the who is the extortionist question is intriguing! I think it has to be the murderer....but maybe not. Maybe it is Adela, after years of her dad's abuse she's finally free and she wants to get out of dodge and she is counting on the twins to fund her escape? That's my only theory now. I wasn't too concerned with who killed the Prof at first, like someone said that was a public service and they should get a prize. But later someone killed Felix's uncle because he found out the truth - that's killing an innocent (as far as we know) person to cover the crime and that makes it a whole different story. I don't think the twins killed anyone but my theory (pure speculation) is that they beat the Prof on the same night he was killed and left him tied to that chair and then whomever actually killed him came along and through the chair in the lake...but who knows? That would explaining freaking out about the video though, because the only thing I could think of that would make that video damning would be if the date stamp is the day of the murder, so I am guessing it is. Leon saying 'we should shoot ourselves' was startling! Those boys are terrified under all their arrogance and not smart enough to turn to dad for help and tell the truth! Because you are 100% right, Oscar is the wrong choice.

I fear Sarita was serious, she seems really burdened by the idea of misjudging someone. I don't think she would give him a chance romantically but she may be nicer to him...I hope not, she should pay attention to her daughter's intuition!!!

I thought it was cute how JD told Muriel 'you can call me whenever you want'. I had an ex say that to me when we first met and he gave me his number, I asked him how 3 am worked for him, because I'm a brat. It was still a cute sentiment though...lol

PASION

Thank you, Darcy, you were on fire! Love your attention to detail, you make it easier to understand some of the things they muble.

I'm not a big Oscar fan, either. His attachement for the twins could be understandable, since he doesn't have his own kids, except he takes everything to creepy teritory.
Leon and Erick SHOULD go to their dad, but they're not doing it for the same reason JD hasn't confided in him, either. He's their father, a figure of authority and someone they look up to - they are probably afraid to disappoint him, afraid of what he might say. Oscar has been enabling their foolishness, he wants to be their pal. Juan is their father and he's waiting for them to come to him. It might be a mistake since teh twins are involved in shady things, but I guess time will tell.

I'm glad that Norma and Juan are aware that something is going on between JD and Rosario.
I do find it a bit strange that the entire family loves Muriel, I mean truly, considering who her mother is. Sure, Muriel shouldn't be judged by Rosario's past mistakes, but it's strange to see this in a novela.

Pasion

Darcy and Adriana, thank you for the week's worth of recaps! I have fallen woefully behind in watching and plan a binge watching afternoon today to get caught up. Not sure I will have too much to comment on that hasn't been already said, but I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate the time and effort you are putting into the recaps!

OT/General

Weirdo, welcome to the patio! I think you should join us in watching Pasion! I didn't see the first season either and have found it pretty easy to catch on. I am new to the patio commenting and then started recapping, it has been a great place to have fun in dizi or TN neverland!

Herc

Thanks, everyone. Great comments.

Yep, VVS, “These Midyat doctors suck.” I’m sure we all have doubts about Miran becoming “father of the decade”. The way he talks, he’s planning to live childhood he never had through Umut and be his son’s best friend. IMHO, doesn’t sound like it will work out well. Rey better be around to raise both Umut and Miran.

Susanlynn, I thought that Dilsah figured out or overheard that Azra is Fusun’s daughter. My memory could be faulty here. Maybe someone else remembers if this is so.

We are on Turkish ep 60 out of 69. I don’t know how that will translate to Telemundo eps but it’s still too much time left.

And since there’s plenty of time left, Juanita, ReyMir might have another temporary split before the end. Interesting point you raise about Fusun not hearing Yaren’s confession. Even if she heard, I imagine she would want proof either way. I’m still betting that Yaren will get a big surprise and really be pregnant.

Halimacandy, I’m not team on team Zehra like you. Some of it has to do with the way the actress plays her. But I’m liking the way Zehra has been stepping up lately.

carmella, “if Reyyan won’t be around, neither will Miran cause he can’t live if she doesn’t, and they will jump together.” Reyyan yoksa, Miran yok. Would the writers dare kill Rey?

“Hazar is a WRECK!” “Dilsah is CRAZY” “Fusun is a SADIST” Agree on all three!

General

Bienvenido, hoş geldin, and welcome to you, Weirdo! Thanks for your kind comments. Caray is a great place. Are you watching a novela now?
