Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #26, 4/1/22: Musical Chairs and Musical Pairs

Vicente and Natalia continue discussing Magos' age and infirmities while still seated at the uptown restaurant.  They agree that, at this advanced age, she should continue living there at the house with them.  Nata has skirted the cancer angle.

At the resort, Juanga is very obviously moping after Chole who he's seen passionately mouth-melding with Gustavo.  Magos has Juanga sit with her.  She advises him to give up on the impossible dream woman and look for one who is much more attainable and who can truly appreciate him.

Back at Constanza's vacation casota, it's lunchtime and the guest list is now whittled down by three.  Connie complains to Teresa about Regina's gross lack of manners and defends her opposition to allowing any hoi polloi, i.e., the brutish barrio rabble, to sit at her table.  Claudio defends Connie's class-conscious social stratification along with Andrea who nods in agreement with each of Constanza's complaints.  Clod says Regi is picking up her mother's bad habits.  Connie says she wouldn't be surprised if Nata ends up becoming Chente's lover.  (Oh, the shame of it all!)

Sammie and Mauricio's mother, Patricia, are now also dining at the same restaurant as Nata and Chente.  We learn from Sam that Mau is up to something devious to help lure Omar away from Andi's clutches.  Mau's mother suddenly notices Chente and Nata dining together.  Sammie and she are scandalously scandalized.  Chente mentions this to Nata who turns around and snubs the two.  Chente and she hold hands there at the table; she admits she's got courage when with him.

Meanwhile, Juanga and Olga decide that since Chente and Chole are never going to give either of the two of them the time of day, they might as well try dating each other.

Nata makes an effort to confront Pat and Sam on the way out of the restaurant.  She says hello and introduces Chente.  She then mentions their kids' wedding next week and how it would be nice of Sam and Elias to attend in a show of support of the pair who obviously love each other so much. Sam is all "--In your dreams."  Nata finishes and grabs Chente's hand as they make their way out.  He proudly puts his arm around her as a means of visual support.  Outside the restaurant, Nata apologizes for using him.  He says it's fine to pretend as many hugs as possible as long as people like those continue to annoy Nata.  She insists she wasn't pretending anything.  She allowed Chente to hug her on the way out to show that she was proud and happy to have him with her.  They then hop into his Rustoleum red rolling pin and head home.

Jo-jo, aka, J2P2, aka Pepe Pepe arrives back at the resort and explains to Chole and Magos the chaos at Connie's and that Regina and Tio Tavo are now spending the rest of their holiday weekend there with them.

Nata and Chente, meanwhile, return home where Benji gives a big welcome-home hug to Nata.  Once alone, they chat, and Nata and he agree that Omi has the basics to become a decent adult.  Nata is adamant that her daughters marry for love with a decent individual so that they don't experience the same emotional deceptions she's just gone through.  She wants them in a happy and loving relationship, just like the marriage he had it with Lucia.  Chente takes this moment to say at times they have to move on and leave some dreams in the past (or some such passionate thoughts).

⦁      Tavo joins Chole, Magos, J2P2, and Regi in the resort's park area.  Up comes the "new couple." Magos and Chole's mouths turn into fly-traps when Juanga introduces La Vulga de Olga as his new squeeze. (Wow~ a match made in Hell, with Vulga getting the better half of the deal.)

Chente starts to move closer to Nata in an attempt to impress her with a kiss, but there's loud obnoxious knocking at the door.

Magos pulls Juanga aside and warns him that Vulga is nothing but a mindless tramp and he should have known better than to sidle up to her.  "--She's nothing but trouble with a capital T and you'll learn soon enough!"

Nata opens the door and finds a free and footloose Mario smiling there at her.  They laugh and hug each other.  Yes, Mario's free but he's got nowhere to hang his sombrero since Tania vamoosed out of the country and took all his cash with her.  Can he stay with her?  Nata and Chente argue over this.  She explains how his sister, Tania, bamboozled her brother and how Mario kindly offered to let her and the girls stay in his apartment when she had nothing left--and she adds that Ver was Mario's fiancee at the time.  She then reminds Mario that Chente is one more victim of Veronica and Adrien's.  Chente still has his back up over this, but Nata decides for herself and tells Mario to stay, over Chente's objections.

At the resort: when Chole tries to question Vulga about her 180-degree reversal to date Chente's kid brother practically over night, Vulga calls Chole a hypocrite.  But, if it wins her Magos's respect, all the better. Vulga flit-fits and flies off to find her new loverboy, the keen-kissin', kookie kid brother.

Back in the barrio, Nata shows Mario to the Andi's bedroom and says it's free for at least this one night while she's away.  Mario suggests that Chente seemed a bit jealous of him but she says there's not a chance.  Chente's stand-up people, after all.

At the resort, Tavo tells Chole over a couple of brewskies that he likes Juanga and Vulga's dating but she disagrees.  She's certain Vulga has something else in mind and it's all part of some devious plot that cannot possibly end well.

The bachelor party is in full force.  However, the cowed Omi is hiding in a corner texting Andi that he'd rather be back there with her.  Mau notes he's missing then tracks him down and forces Omi back into the party room as the female dancers arrive.  And within a couple of hours the main attraction--a hooker dressed in red--arrives and sticks to Omi like glue.  While he's off somewhere she gets a couple of tragos for the two of them but first a few drops of something into one.  She finds Omi and hands him the mickey.  There's a drinking game and he chugs it down dutifully.

While Nata makes a plate of food up for Mario, she explains to Chente that he's got nobody and nothing; he is just as much a victim as they are and he is a decent man.  Anyway, she adds, it's just for the night.  She's hoping he could share something at the rooming house. Their place is already splitting at the seams.  However, Chole will certainly give Mario a helping hand.

The red dressed hooker now has her hooks into Omi.

Then next morning the maid enters the disaster of a hotel suite.  She gets a big surprise as she walks into the bedroom--but not as big as the one Omi gets when she screams, "--You killed her!!"  He takes a gander over the back of the bed and there is the hooker, lying dead with blood pooling around her head!!

And, that same morning  at Connie's Crabshack, Andi sits down to eat breakfast; she begins going through her texts and there's a picture of Omi lipsmacking the red-dressed hooker.  Andi flies into a tantrum.  Connie grabs the phone and begins thumbing through it.  Tere and Clod appear just as Andi faints into their arms.

At the hotel again, Omi has dressed but is still only half awake.  He runs out of the suite, down the hall, down the stairwell and out into the back alley as Security and the EMR team roll in the cadaver bed into the suite.  A few minutes later, Elias enters the suite, congratulates his henchmen on a job well done.  "--Just as we planned!"  Out of the bathroom strolls the hooker, Michelle, fresh from the shower.  Elias pays her and even adds a bonus.  Don't worry about his son, he tells her.  "--it won't be long now before he calls me."

Sure enough, like clockwork, Omi calls from the back of a taxi.  He's panicked and in trouble, he doesn't know what happened.  Elias tells him to meet him at the office in a few.

At Connie's, Andi is awake.  Tere and Connie are at her bedside.  Andi is in tears and says she never wants to see Omar again!  Connie suggests it was only a picture of him kissing a whore.  Tere objects to that and says it doesn't justify Omi's lack of respect towards Andi (his betrothed, the love of his life, blah-blah--you get the idea).  Connie finally spouts something sensible in response.  "--Well what do you expect of a man at a bachelor's party???)  Andi hasn't changed her mind, though.  So, Connie goes with the current flow and says, okay then, better you see it now than after marrying the guy.  It's obvious that he's just like Andi's papi and what can Andi expect with a man like Omar who shows so little respect for his betrothed?

At papi Elias's office now, Omi is there and is in shock; he tearfully greets his dad.  Elias has him walk through what happened.  No drugs but lots to drink and all he remembers was kissing the hooker.  He woke up and she was dead. He is sobbing uncontrollably now. "--Somebody killed her!"  Elias hugs his son.  Yep!  He has Omi right where he wants him.

The next morning, Mario is cooking breakfast when Chente walks into the kitchen.  Chente remarks at the way Mario seems to have moved right in.  Mario explains how the first morning at his place Nata made him breakfast.  He's just returning the favor.  Mario says he plans to get a job and then move Nata and family to another, larger, and separate abode....Chente gets his back up again, insisting she already has a house and is living in it right now!  Mario says, not true: she's forced to live here. And she and her daughters are accustomed to a different standard of living.  Chente obviously doesn't like where this conversation's going.  "--That's what you say! I doubt she would agree; who are you to make decisions for others?"  "--When this all started Nata and I lost everything and we decided that we'd see it through and get beyond it all... TOGETHER!  I am not going to waste more time.  While I was in jail I decided that once I got out I would start over.  And, I am not going to argue about this with you.  I am doing this because Natalia is the woman I love!"

Thank you, Jardinera. Your recap was the perfect companion for my coffee this a.m. since I fell asleep during the last 5 minutes last night.

It was quite a surprise that Elías concocted a “murder” to coerce his son with. That was a welcome plot twist.

Mario needs to get his head on straight. Yeah, yeah, they would get through this “together” but didn’t Natalia also told him she was not interested in HIM many episodes ago?

I cannot wait to see how Chente steps up his plans with Natalia now that Mario has told him his intentions.

Jardinera: Howdy from the Alamo City! Awesome job on the recap of last night's episode!

Steve Boudreaux

Jarifa and Steve: Hi y'all. You got to be early risers! Spring has sprung and I am ready for it!

Yeah, Mario's dreaming. He was already told that Nata only wanted friendship from him. If his head was on straight he'd be a big brother and replace Tania for her. Once Adrien returns, Chente will have some meaningful competition. The question is, will Mario actually move out and into the boarding house or not?

Jardinera, thank you. I always appreciate your snappy take on things.

Eliza is beyond despicable to do this cruel set up to his own son in order to continue to control him. He is a demon . What would his wife ,fingerpopping Eddie Munster , think of his awful actions if she finds out about this elaborate scheme to make Omer bend to his demands ?

Nat and Chente grow closer, but then Mario shows up at the door begging Nat for help. They should have called this show "Full House."... Well, that title was already taken...maybe " Crowded House."

Dim Juan has no idea how devious and determined Vulgar Olgar is. How will she use Juan to get to Chente ?

Abuela is the voice of reason . She is wise, loving, and unfiltered. She calls a tramp, a tramp. Vulgar has met her match.

OT....sending love to our dear Judyb...besos xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Jardinera, an excellent, snark laden summary.

So many nuggets of wisdom including "scandalously scandalized", "flit-fits and flies" and of course "the keen-kissin', kookie kid brother."

I like Mario but Chente's right, he's making himself right at home although there was clearly no welcome mat. I think he will need to move to the rooming house because Val is there. The zoning occupancy limits are likely already exceeded at Chente's.

Chente's clearly seeing green (eyed jealousy) and I'm right there with you Jarifa in wondering how he is going to handle this.

Elias' trap was monstrous and inhuman. How could anyone, let alone a parent, do that to someone they purport to love? Omi looked broken.

Adrian's return will be interesting.

Can you trade one bro in for another? Nopis. I tried once decades ago and it didn't work out well.

Jardinera, always a delight. Gracias!

Diana

I wonder when "Madre" will end. I watched part of last night's episode , and even though I don't understand the dialogue, the visual shows that things just gets worse and worse for that poor little girl . Is anybody watching it?

Diana, I have to say that Elias is a cold hearted b. He has already lied to Sammie about Nata, now this. I am certain Sammie doesn't have a clue. She just wants a result.

Susan!ynn, Full House...good one!

Jardinera, thank you for another great recap. And the new(?) avatar is great as well   :-)

Mario has been through a lot, but he's still a pain in the Netherlands. It's not your house, Bro.

Elías doesn't disappoint, he always finds a way to go lower.

Juanga and Vulga... I like it. I doubt that this will be a story of true love bringing out the best in both, but much better than more of Elías.

Andy

OT

JudyB has been absent a while, I hope all is OK or at least getting a bit better.

Andy

Thanks, Jardinera. My fave: "Sammie and she are scandalously scandalized" - lol

Mario has some nerve. Even though Nat turn him down before, he thinks he's got a chance over Chente due to class. Fat chance.

Poor Omar. Thinking he's responsible for foul play with the hooker. Not looking forward to scenes of Omar crying, begging, and hating himself.

Olga and Juanga could be fun together, but then I remember how awful she is to little Benji.

O/T

Andy, I'm not sure if you saw Rgv Chick's posting from the other day:

I received this message from Judy’s daughter—I know you will be sending Judy prayers, good vibes and good thoughts—

Hi, this is Julie, Judy Backoff’s daughter. We wanted to let you know that she had a stroke and is in Riverside Hospital. She’s got a lot of recovery to do and, as you can imagine, she hates not being up and about but is stable and progressing well.

Rgv Chick is going to be sending all the messages to Judy's daughter to read to her...

Diana

OT

Diana, No I did not see the message, thank you very much for filling me in. I just knew she had been absent for a while and there were a couple of mentions in the comments.
I hesitated to say anything, because I didn't want to inadvertently put my foot in my mouth.

Thanks again,

Andy

OT..Andy, your question about Judyb shows your caring heart . I always appreciate your comments which often give me a smile.

(((Judyb))).....hope you are feeling the prayers and good vibrations ))))))))) coming towards you from the patio. ;) besos xxxx

Andy, Judy always enjoys your comments (as do I. As do we all).

And please, always ask! It's so easy to miss comments due to the heading changes. Sometimes I've inadvertently sailed by comments too.

Judy, wishing you strength, healing and hope. We are all praying for you and we miss you so much!

Diana

OT

Diana and Susanlynn, thank you for the info and good vibes.

Judy, very best wishes and hopes for a speedy and complete recovery. You are very much missed, and now I have nobody to argue with!

Andy

Great work, Jardinera. This was quite an episode.

Sammi will probably applaud Elias' creativity in this scheme, although she might be shocked for about two minutes. They must have a vault of cash for him to be able to do this as quickly as he had.

Mario is delusional, but Valentina is waiting in the wings.

Connie and Patricia have big mouths.

O/T I am heartbroken to hear of Judyb's stroke. This is the first I'd heard of it. I know that we've missed her wit and wisdom the past few weeks on our special portion of the Uni patio. My prayers to the heavens and may my best wishes fly swiftly to her bedside.

O/T

I am saddened to hear of JudyB's stroke. I feel privileged to read anything she writes on the patio, whether comments, recaps, recipes... Simply brilliant, warm, wise, and witty. And so kind and patient. JudyB, I hope you have patience with yourself as you recover. We are missing you and so looking forward to your return. You are well worth the wait, so do what you need to do.

OT

You can find the JudyB updates on the "Primetime on Univision" posts.

OT

Jarifa, thanks for the info re Judy and "Primetime on Univision".

That might be the best place to put messages for Judy, all in one place, less scouring for Rgv Chick.

Though what else has she got to do with her time anyway?

:-)

Andy

OT

Jarifa, thanks for sharing about where to see updates on JudyB's progress.
