Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #51, 05/06/22: Obsession In Common

[Doesn't he look familiar?  It's been driving me crazy till now.  V for Vendetta... or Guy Fawkes...or  Adrian?]

Natalia tries explaining to know-it-all 17 year-old Andrea that a person doesn't change his stripes overnight.  She doesn't believe that Adrian is truly remorseful; she doesn't need or want his "support money" to live at the level to which she was once accustomed.  Nopers.  If she gets a home like the one she had again it will be due to her own efforts, by the sweat of her own brow.  Andi shuts up for a while.  (Viewerville finds Andi's affected use of English words sprinkled in amongst her chatty-Cathy speech truly irritating, disconcerting, and senseless.  Is this a character affectation or that of Univision's?) Nata states she cannot deny her from renewing her relationship with her father.  He's a fact of her life.  But Nata wants nothing more to do with him and nothing more from him; Andi needs to respect her wishes.  No more errands or messages from him through her.

Back at the club, Adrian threatens Mauricio  if he doesn't explain immediately and in full why he gave in to Elias Hadad's demands-- especially against his best friend-- to help in a sinister, evil plot making Omarbelieve he murdered a woman at his bachelor party,.  Mauricio explains about his mother's business being near bankruptcy once Adrian ran off with his mother's company's funds.  Elias paid off the debts and Mau had no choice but to help in the ruse. The idea was to make Omar frightened enough to run back to his papi  for help to "beat the rap" and make it out of the country and back to London and to college.  And no, Omar was never told Andi was preggers. Anyway, he doesn't want trouble with Hadad.  Adi warns Mau that it won't compare with what he can do to him if Mau refuses to call Omar ASAP and tell him the truth, the whole truth.

Back in London, Omi wants Veronica to loan him cash to return to Mexico to tell Andi what happened.  Ver tries talking him out of it.  She refuses to give him the cash and then tries seducing him.  He tells her to stop playing games.  He's not looking for a woman like her, one who runs off with her BFF's husband (and embezzles cash, leaving the BFF and her kids in the street to starve).  Besides, she is way too old for him.  He walks off.  Ver cannot argue; he's got her nailed to the wall and then some.

Andi tries giving the cash to Regina for prep school or going to a good university.  Regi refuses; she wants nothing coming from that so-called "gentleman."  He's proved himself nothing but a bullying stalker.  "--Last night he even kissed Mama by force."  Just then, Vicente enters the house and greets them.  He and Regi go looking for Nata.  Andi secretly stashes the envelope of quickie cash in a pocket of her sister's backpack.

Regi lets Nata and Chente know she's passed her exams with high honors.  Then the two adults get to work on Nata's new orders.  Chente leaves to buy groceries.

Meanwhile, Teresa finally has had enough of Claudio's badgering her.  Why is she giving him the silent treatment?  "--Because I ran into Adrian and he told me he'd repaid the entire amount he stole from us; why didn't you tell me????"  "--He's a liar to beat all liars!  If he'd really paid me back do you think we'd still be living in this little storeroom???"  She looks closer and notes he's wearing a new suit and sporting a new and very expensive watch.  He's leaving, he says. She can believe in the lying liar or in him!

Across the way, Chole gives Valentina breakfast in bed.  Tavo's giving Tina the whole day off from work.  Mario comes in to visit.  Her virtue is still in tact.

Outside, Chente comes back from the market when Andi's leaving in her new snazzy luxury car from Papi.  Chente remarks that perhaps before buying everyone expensive gifts her papi should think to repay his debts and debtors.  "--Oh, that's what he is doing!  Although, he was not responsible for the theft.  It's all the fault of the woman who destroyed our family."  Chente starts to leave but she stops him.  "--Don't get too carried away with your relationship with my mom.  My daddy is very remorseful and is going to win her back."  Chente politely responds. "She's  a decent woman and will of course forgive him as it's never good to be bitter or vengeful."  "--So glad you should understand that; so like, don't get your hopes up, as this new relationship between you two is certain to go up in smoke!"

Sepaking of Mr. Repentence, he's got his new office and ogles Olga when she comes to collect her cash from Ver (?) at Hadad Industries.  They flirt on the way out of the office building.  He offers her a lift back home.  He tells her his wife's brother-in-law owns the garage there in the barrio across from the beautyshop where she points out she is a professional manicurist.  Sure she knows Tavo!  His new squeeze is her cousin, Chole.  Adi realizes he's been out of the loop too long and invites  La Vulga to lunch so he can catch up on skuttlebutt.

On the sidewalk still, Andi continues to insult Chente's station in life.  Papi and Mamita's station in life is floors above him.  While her daddy's a prime cut of Kobe beef, Chente's no more than a taco treat off the street.  They even kissed last night! Forgeddabowder!  "--See ya!"

Regi finds the money in her backpack and races down to tell her mother.  Chente comes in and eavesdrops on their conversation.  He misinterprets Nata's interest in seeing Adi again, not realizing it's only to give him a piece of her mind and to return the quickie cash.  He mopes while he helps her prepare the Spanish tortas.

Meanwhile, in her room, Tere takes a look in the clothes closet.  It's full of nothing but Clod's brand new suits -- a store full of them with a rack of ties plus shirts for each one of them.  She's furious to tears!  "--Bwahahahhahaha!"

At brunch/lunch at los Hadad, Elias has been discussing Adi's trickster deals and how Elias plans to win back his shares of stock and put Adi back in jail at the first instant something goes bad.  Samia is thanking her lucky stars they didn't have any family ties with that gangster-type lowlife and his daughter after all, not with Nata trading Adrian in for that barrio bum as well! Elias chuckles at how Adrian's probably roasting inside because of it too!  Samia's going to make certain her little boy is too frightened to ever return to Mexico again!

Finally Chente brings up Adrian and Nata's kiss the night before.  Nata explains all and clears up any doubt Chente has.  They kiss and make up.

Teresa has gone through all Clod's new clothing and has packed it in a suitcase.  She asks Chole if there's a way to sell off all these extra clothes.  Choles gives Tere a name and they go to see what can be sold to her second-hand store-owner friend.  Tere comes back with a pile of cash.  (Good thinkin', Teresita!  10 points!)

Teresa also takes time to visit Tavo and remind him that he's got to tell Chole the truth: he can never give her a child.   She's very eager to have one.

Fernanda comes to take Nata for a day of shopping or  to do girlie stuff.  All work and no play as they say... Chente says go on and he'll deliver today's orders for Nata.

At lunch Olga admits to Adi eventually that Nata stole her boyfriend, Chente, but not exactly: she has designs on him and has had for a while.  If Natalia hadn't stuck her nose in, she'd be Chente's girlfriend herself right now!  Adi tells her he wants Nata back; she's still his wife and he wants his family back all in one piece.  They form a pact to plan to each work together with the other to achieve what they want.  "--Salud!"

Thanks, Jardinera, the recaps really help me. Each of these episodes are so willed with events from all different characters, it’s hard to keep up.

Andrea is now resorting to lying to break up her mom and Chente. She’s hard to like. I thought Connie had gotten her the car but she said her dad did.

I expected Olga and Adrian to meet but didn’t think they’d team up! But at least now maybe she won’t be paying Simba to kill Natalia. But then she’ll have Veronica mad at her. And I wonder how Elias would react if he knew Veronica tried to seduce Omar. At least Omar will now find out the truth from his friend.

That was so low of Claudio to take the money and not tell Teresa. And wasn’t it her money in the first place. This telenovela has too many bad guys!
Liz

Jardinera, thank you for the recap, I'll never look at Sergio Sendel the same way again, lol.

The best part of the whole episode for me was Omar telling Veronica that she's too old to be flirting with him, I'm half expecting her to kill him for saying that.

Liz, Andrea lied to Chente, she did get the car from Constanza but I'm guessing she did that to show Chente that daddy has money and she probably does not want people to know she's selling her baby for a car.

Jardinera,

OMG, the picture was great! My answer is all of the above as well as Mitch Miller and the Underwood devil ham devil. Great fun!

Jardinera, this was fabulous. Savored every salty word.

Adrian is here, there and everywhere. I'm still in awe he not only got out of jail but has recouped his illegally gained fottune, having enough of it to sprinkle around like rain. He will catch up on everyone and everything in his way to try and reconquer Natalia very quickly. I have to say I'm thrilled that Omar will know about the baby and that he didn't murder anyone. Liz, there are many treacherous villains but he is the cagiest, smartest and the wickedest.

"While her daddy's a prime cut of Kobe beef, Chente's no more than a taco treat off the street". Ouch. You could see her words chipping away at the little confidence Chente has. Andrea is her father's daughter, no doubt.

Vero is very foolish not to have gone somewhere far, far away. Adrian shattering her picture showed his hatred and he will not forgive or forget. She deserves neither and I loved Omar telling her she is too old for him.

I was so happy Tere sold Claudio's goods. Won't he be livid?? I can't wait.

Come on writers, Fernanda deserves more than a quick cameo here and there. Give this woman a storyline!

A few bright spots.

Judy, I hope you slept well and are enjoying the day. Rest up for Mother's Day tomorrow! Sending many hugs.

Jardinera, thank you!

Diana

Jardinera, thank you for an excellent, and great fun, recap!

Princess Juju, "The best part of the whole episode for me was Omar telling Veronica that she's too old to be flirting with him, I'm half expecting her to kill him for saying that." Yes! That was funny, but Omar has no idea just how dangerous that woman is.

Diana, "Vero is very foolish not to have gone somewhere far, far away. Adrian shattering her picture showed his hatred and he will not forgive or forget." Absolutely! But who is Adrián to judge anyone else? And we have enough rotten people in this TN to fill a stadium.

Judy! We miss you and we miss your wit here at Caray!

Andy

Hi ya, Juju! You got a choice episodio to recap! Loved it! Enjoying also that this tn isn't taking weeks to bring various storylines to a close. Felix found Tina, kidnapped her, and was caught and jailed all in a few days. The End. And, yeah, Ver got a greatly deserved tongue-lashing from OMi. I had to say while watching him I didn't think the wimpy schoolboy had it in him!

Yeah, Liz. Andrea is fudging all over the place trying to get Chente to put his tail between his legs and walk away from Natalia. What she said about the car was definitely a white lie, just as bad was her leaving out the little detail of that kiss being done by force to Natalia. Grrr! I think Andrea, contrary to Samia's misgivings, does truly belong in the Hadad world!

Regi has her dad all figured out. He is a bully. And the one who is truly slumming, is Adrian giving La Vulga de Olga the once, twice and thrice over in the reception area of Hadad Industries.....

Diana: OMG! Mitch Miller, indeed! Susanlynn! JudyB! Are you hearing this? We senior citizens are now taking a walk down Memory Lane!! Ahahahahahah!!! I'm certainly ready to follow the bouncing ball and join along! Certainly, anybody born in the fifties or earlier on this patio has got to be laughing with us about that reference..... Thanks for the giggles, Diana!

Jardinera...yep that's Sendel's signature evil grin.

Haha. The Underwood devil !!!! Sendel actually looks a little !one my cousin Skip who was a sweet guy but liked to tease.

Mitch Miller ...as I said, he was always a square to me. Hub and I used to go to a lot of oldies concerts to see singers and groups from our teen years ..Dion, Duprees, 4seasons, Lou Christie . 4 Tops, Bobby Rydel. ..still rocking. I guess Mitch is !ong gone.

Jardinera, although I loved your excellent recap, the “familiar” image was the icing in the cake, Thanks!

OT

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers here, including cat moms, dog moms, etc.; and especially to our Judy.

Maybe we will get to see Charlie sometime soon, if he hasn't been deported for being a terrorist.

:-)

Andy

OT..Happy Mother's Day

Judy....Thinking of you and wishing you Happy Mother's Day with prayers and good thoughts for your continued recovery. Hang in there, mi amiga.

Yes, Happy Mother's Day/"Feliz Día de las Madres" to all the moms and madres out there on the patio.

OT Susanlynn: I remember a number of those performers, but I was younger. We went to a few rock concerts back in the day, also. You had me thinking back. My first was in college to see Richie Havens. I remember taking my daughter to see Jon Bonjovi. Hub and I went to see The Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, and Charlie Daniels. --As for Mitch Miller, my parents would turn him on every week. (Hub's turned on Lawrence Welk!) I was in grade school. I played accordion and organ, so I remember having to learn to play some of the songs as they were written in my music lesson books.

Andy: I wonder what is truly motivating Adrian Cantu. Is he a true sociopath? Is he just an obsessed, selfish bully? (Yep, Andrea comes by it naturally.) Is he just a player? I will never believe this character to be truly repentant and redeemed until he gives in and gives up.

Jardinera, my guess is Adrian is just a p!ayer....so vain that he thinks every Song is about him and every woman would be thrilled to have him.

OT...Love Bon Jovi ( a Jerseyboy like Bruce, the boss) , but I have never seen him in concert.
My grandparents watched Lawrence . My mother turned into Mitch Mil!er. I preferred Mitch Rider and The Detroit Wheels. Right now I am !listening to the 4Seasons, Hubs fav. You

Happy Mother's Day

Whether a mother to a human, fur, fin or feather child, Happy Mother'sday. This day applies to all women as every daughter, sister, aunt, niece or friend are included.

Wishing you all a joyous day with whomever you love.

Judy, sending prayers and hugs to you and hoping your day is sunny and bright!

Diana

Gracias, Jardinera.

I have the feeling that somebody will find out the truth of Andrea's deal with the devil's disciple just before or just as the baby is being born. Especially if Omar comes home just in time. He deserves better than this world class brat.

She definitely is being pretentious in using English words here and there. Can she hold a conversation in English? I doubt it.

Why didn't Teresa figure out where Claudio got that wardrobe and just take it aback?

Adrian and Vulga deserve each other.

If I remember correctly, the suits were made by a tailor.
