Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #58 Benji Talks and Olga Still Squawks

Vicente and Natalia agree to take Vicente's reimbursement check from Adrian to buy whatever equipment, tables, and chairs will be necessary for the fonda as an investment.

Regina informs Andrea over the phone about their needing to leave Chente's house due to Olga's moving in.  Andi says she'll come by in the morning to show them the new house El Wonderful Loving and Repentant Papi bought them. ( Allow me to retch!)

The next morning Olga puts on a hot pink negligee and sneaks into Chente's bedroom.  She loses it and bawls out, "NO!" when she sees a naked Nata spooning with her beloved.  Nata wakes up and asks what she's doing in there.  "--No!  What are you doing in here, you shameless hussy!"  (Lest Viewerville scream back in vain, "-- Look in the mirror and tell us now what YOU are," we must remember ultimately that La Vulga's emotional elevator does not go all the way to the top.  In fact, if the top is  floors18-20, hers stops at 10-12. )

Valentina shares visiting hours with Felix telling him off.  He snickers that women simply fall at his feet and so what happens to them happens (as if they are so silly, it is to be expected); it's like water off a duck's back  What Felix did with her, she tells him, is called sexual abuse, assault, and taking advantage of her trust.  She fell in love with him and he only abused her.  He tried selling her to other men, for goodness sake!  "--We are not objects!"  He snickers at her.  She isn't deterred.  "-- We aren't weak, either!"  She can breathe freely now knowing that he is incarcerated (as opposed to the women he abused) and cannot do the same thing to anyone else! Now he's in jail and she's got the rest of her life to follow her dreams.

Chente gets up and asks Vulga sweetly (way too sweetly) what she thinks she is doing there.  Nata tells her to respect their privacy and leave.  She just stares at Nata like a dumb ox.  She whines about why she/Nata was annoyed.  Chente asks why she didn't knock.  (Earth to Chente!  What does that tell you about the woman? Like get her psychiatric help already!)  Nata is totally embarrassed and like an adult explains that Olga is there to recuperate, not to interfere with their privacy.  Chente is Nata's significant other.  (Who in their right mind?  The woman is emotionally retarded if not totally thick.  There should be a public awareness message in here somewhere.....)  Vulga begins the whining act again and mumbles they should lock their door if they plan on doing obscene things and then something about a scary nightmare where he left her all alone on the highway again. Chente walks Vulga back to her room.  From bed, covering herself in her robe, Nata tells herself that she's not changing her mind.  She is definitely going to leave..

Back at the jailhouse, Felix garbles on something about he'll get out and find Tina again to get even; there will always be a Vulga who will sell out her friends to him for cash.  Viewerville and Tina ferret out that it was, in fact, La Vulga who he paid to tell him where to find Tina.  (We assume if he escapes again he'll look her up again and who knows what???)

In bonnie Britain, Veronica joins Samia and Omar at dinner.  Vero explains Elias hired her to babysit the Chuchu.  Omi leaves to call Adi and explain why he missed the flight. He is stuck there with his Mami.  Adi tells him he better find a way to ditch her and come home since Andi needs him more than ever.  Why????? Because he's going to be a daddy!

Andrea arrives at Chente's bright and early to take the family all to some place new and special.  They say their goodbye's to Benj and Chente and start to leave.  Benji begins crying.  Vulga fakes the motherly attitude with him and he immediately rejects her.  As Nata and family all walk out the door, Benji suddenly screams out loud for them not to go.  "--Mama don't go!"  Everyone is dumbstruck and walks back inside into the living room.  It's hugs all around for little Benji.  He is talking again!  Nata says they must leave, but only for a bit, while Olga gets better.  "--Olga, NO*o*o*o*o*o*!!  I want to leave with you and my sister.  Don't leave me please!"  (That's a mouthful. Viewerville is waiting to hear Benji call Vulga a hateful witch!) Finally, Teresa suggests if the boy is that upset with Olga's presence (her looks?) then maybe she shouldn't stay. (Tere's on to something here.  Since the sham beating, La Vulga's ugly exterior is a view to her interior IMO.  Yup, as ugly now on the outside as on the inside.....)  Olga whines again that this is proof she will make everyone sick to be around her all because of Chente. (Yes, but for all the right reasons, not the faked ones). She goes upstairs to cry into her pillow at her failed attempt to move in and successfully seduce Chente.

Meanwhile, Juanga goes to the hospital to bring Magos back home.  FF>>FF>>

Andi impatiently tells her mother that the kid isn't her responsibility already, "--So let's just get going!"  Nata replies Andi try being sensible here.  (Not sensitive?)  Andi replies that no, the sensible thing is leaving Chente with his child and her coming along with her own children!  (Gawd, Mom!  Just for once tell Andi to effing zip it!!)

Back in balmy Britain, Omi returns and says why didn't anyone tell him he was going to be a father? Vero says innocently that she was asked not to.  (But Mama and Papi????) Well, it doesn't matter, even if he does go to jail.  "--What if it isn't yours?  It obviously isn't yours!"  He is certain that it is, but he'll risk it all to go there anyway to have Andi tell him to his face!!  (OMG Omi has actually grown a pair??)  "Hasta la vista, Mami!"  He heads for the airport.

Across the pond once again, Tina tells Chole how her visit with Felix went. She also informs Chole that he told her it was La Vulga who literally sold her out and took his cash, or rather, his 30 shekels, to tell him where to find her.

Benji is thrilled when Nata tells him that his daddy was taking Olga back to the rooming house.

⦁      Chole is insensed and later refuses to let her cousin stay in the rooming house when Chente tries dropping her off.  Chole faces off with Olga who, when confronted, again tries playing the sweet, innocent, and naively simple senorita.  Then she calls Chole a bitter female because Tavo won't give her a kid.  Chole says look somewhere else.  You can live the life you condemned Tina too for all she cares.  She's done with her.  And talk to the hand, cuz Chole won't listen; Felix didn't lie.  "--You caused the problem, Chente!  You take care of it!"  So, take her home again, mumbles Vulga; or leave her on the street somewhere again and maybe this time somebody will actually kill her.  (Will somebody just put tape on her mouth for once?)

Magos returns home about this time.  Happy, happy!  Joy, Joy!  Magos and Nata agree that Olga is scheming to worm her way into Chente's life somehow.  Chente brings Olga back to the house. Olga tries the sweetness and light apology of a lifetime and meekly asks both Nata and Magos permission to stay, but Magos is not having any of it.  They are like cats and dogs and Vulga knows it so no, and a thousand times no!  Olga then tries faking the bruising and pain act but Magos tries faking her own pain act.  No!  Magos cannot recuperate with La Vulga constantly causing chaos, she warns Chente.

Andi, meanwhile, has joined Regina in her maid's closet/storeroom of a bedroom; she   bugs her sister to hurry up and get moving. Regi says she'd rather chat with Jose Jose.  Andi insults his need for having to work and study at the same time and thus being a naco loser.  Finally, J2P2 politely tells her that not everybody has a millionaire father to make life easy and besides she is a high school dropout!  That shuts Andi up--for a bit, at least.

Back in the living room, Vulga takes a breath in between fake winces for pain and tells Chente to stay with Magos and that she will manage the stairs on her own.  Magos whispers to Chente that Vulga doesn't want just a hand, she wants his entire body.

Andi and Regi are still in Regi's bedroom.  They are now arguing with Nata over her decision to stay in "this flea-infested hut".  Nata learns then from Andi that her father has bought a house for his two daughters to live in.  Nata reprimands Andi for being her father's go-between again after she warned her.  (Like when has that ever stopped her?) Andi convinces Nata to at least look the place over and, if she likes it, she can stay there till Olga leaves and then return if she wants...  Maybe.....

Magos and Chente sit at the dining table and she tells him that La Vulga is simply trying to take advantage of his good nature.  Chente mentions that Chole threw Olga out for telling Felix where to find Tina and cashing in on it.  "--See, you can always expect the worst from Olga!"

When Benji goes back to his room to let the grownups talk, Olga jumps out of his closet and again threatens to harm everybody Benji loves and to cut his tongue off and feed it to the dogs.

Thanks for the spirited retelling of this episode, Jardinera. I so enjoyed it!

Wow! That was some surprise with Chole kicking Olga out of the pensión.

Best Scene: was a tie between Olga getting an eyeful in Chente’s bedroom and Ben finally talking again.

I couldn't believe the rather calm reaction to Olga’s invasion of the bedroom. I would be expecting something more like “What the h**** are you doing here?” from Chente and Natalia followed by “Get the h*** out! Now!”

At least Granny Magos is back to watch over things.

Jardinera: Good Job on the recap of last night's episode.

Jarifa: When will those Karma anvils hit that annoying Bratty Andrea's expletive ?

I deeply HATE that uppity twit!

Steve Boudreaux

Thanks, Jardinera, for the recap of a joyful and frustrating episode. Benja talking was so unexpected and I loved the circumstances of it. I thought that would show everyone that Olga needed to be kept away from him. And also learning that Olga was the cause of Valentina’s kidnapping. I was sure that would be the end of Olga, but no, Chente is too dense to realize how truly evil she is.

Omar finally is told Andrea is pregnant and is heading home. With threats of a murder charge and jail! This seems an unforgivable offense and hopefully he’ll be man enough to throw his parents out of his life.

And the family is moving to the new house that is just for them. Andrea said that but did Adrian tell her that? I thought he said it was their house to be a family again. Anxious for tonight!

Gracias, Jardinera. This had things we've been waiting for.

Now that Magos is home at last she will be keeping an eagle eye on Vulga who is unlikely to become seriously nasty with Benjamin if Natalia is around. I only wish he had found his voice with her out of the room. I really hope he rats her out to someone. Anyone other than Juanga because he will be reluctant to believe anything bad about this worthless piece of trailer trash.

Since Andrea's baby should be born soon I am surprised that nobody knows the sex of the infant. That was not even addressed during the ultrasound, which seems to be the norm these days. I see that Andrea really doesn't care, but her reaction to Constanza's obsession is understandable.

Adrian's new house is a trap and Andrea is a Judas Goat, as usual. How much does anyone want to bet that as soon as Natalia is in there Adrian will do whatever it takes to prevent her from leaving? She also needs to protect Magos.

I like the opening song but they cut that to pieces. I wish they would stop doing that.

I did correct or add a few nuggets earlier, but don't think anyone had read the recap yet.

Anyway, ITA, Steve. Andrea is insufferable but then so is Natalia for allowing her to walk all over her the way she does. No punishments whatsoever. Just a couple of words of "please don't be so unladylike".....Never have understood that type of so-called parenting.

Jarifa: I couldn't agree more! Chente's character is written as way to accepting or maybe unrealistically naive and dumb himself. I cannot decide. Natalia's reaction was normal. Chente's simply was not. I think he was written this way to be annoying to the audience and get a reaction from us. Maybe he was a throwback to the early tn's where every protagonist is a long-suffering saint, but then there are no priests in these shows anymore so, no, just a foolish, supersensitive nice guy whose only salvation is Magos's presence and wisdom.

Liz, I don't really remember all that Adrian told Andrea about the new house. I thought it was for the entire family also, but then Adrian knows he wouldn't be allowed back to live with the three of them, or Natalia would never move there, to begin with.

Urban: you do bring up an interesting point about Adrian somehow preventing Nata from moving back to Chente's. Magos is well enough now to hold her own against La Vulga esa. Any future contretemps between those two will be ringside seating only! Cannot wait!

Hmmm. Does the arrival of Andi's baby mean anything? Not to me. I could care less if she comes or goes. Preferably she goes because she's way too immature to be a mother and Omi needs a grown woman, not a 17-18 yr. old high school dropout to tend to it or to him. Both bits of storyline are totally stupid and a waste of screen time.

Jardinera

Thanks for every detail .I still cannot watch .

Wow and yikes .Olga is relentless ! That final scene of her leaking out of Ben's closet with another threat even after he has retained his voice ???? Wicked and stupud....no ...full on demented . Ben evidently has to spell things out for dear old dad because Chenta is dim .

Well, Chuchu finally knows that he is going to be a dad . I feel very sorry for this baby who seems to have no good options for parents ...Chuchu Sr and bratty , spoiled Andrea, awful Con, or Chuchu' senior's weird, controlling parents .

Maybe the purpose of these telenovelas is that they make our own personal real life novelas seem less harrowing . Like we can say to ourselves , " Well, at least none of these BSC folks are in my orbit. " I just watched " Mare of Easttown" which made me feel exactly the same way .

Does anyone else cringe at hearing Samia calling her son Chuchu? That sounds so childish and demeaning. No wonder he is so dense.

Even if he manages to prevent the older relatives from both sides taking custody of the baby no way will he be able to raise it with Andrea. She is interested in Omar's handsome face and hot bod which are probably secondary to his parents' dinero. Will Elias offer dinero for a nieto? And what if the baby is a girl? I'm sure Omar and Andrea would have to kiss his inheritance goodbye.

Sensational Jardinera, every single word.

I've been watching TNs for over 14 years and usually am surprised by very little. But when Benja "found his voice" again, I literally jumped. And then my eyes misted. I'm sure we all felt it was going to take something earthshattering for him to speak again, and it did. The thought of being alone with Olga was certainly enough.

Sadly, nothing will deter Olga and while she cringed when Benja first spoke, she realized she is bigger, stronger and more evil so can continue to evilly manipulate and torture the child.

"El Wonderful Loving and Repentant Papi bought them. (Allow me to retch!)" and "She just stares at Nata like a dumb ox" were among my favorite lines.

"Magos whispers to Chente that Vulga doesn't want just a hand, she wants his entire body" - yes, Jarifa, I totally agree, thank God she is there.

Chole grows a spine NOW??? How convenient that now homeless, Olga could crawl back on her belly to Chente's with him holding her leash.

"Andrea is a Judas Goat, as usual" made me smile Urban.

A baby bidding war does seem imminent. Elias and his wife can be eliminated immediately as neither is fit to change the child's diapers. Connie is obsessed so she is out. I think Andrea will have a change of heart and she and Omar will end up together, with their child.

Diana

Diana, ITA that Ben “finding his voice” was truly a memorable and riveting telenovela moment of which there are not many. There is so much that frustrates me in this novela but a well-written and produced moment like that make it worth it.

Jardinera, many thanks for this excellent and fun recap!

Olga la Vulga really disappointed me. She thought she was going to seduce Chente el Bobo wearing that? Not even a drunken sailor just off a tough six month deployment.

Whatever. But people sometimes should lock their doors and avoid problems.

Nice to see Benja has recovered his voice. But calling Natalia "Mama" was just a tiny bit cringe worthy.

"Chole faces off with Olga who, when confronted, again tries playing the sweet, innocent, and naively simple senorita." Señorita... I remember a phrase, um, expressing 'doubt' about that characterization, "ni en el oído". It's Dominican, and perhaps a little crude, and I don't know how it would be received in Mexico   :-)

Too bad about Olga, I think she is going to be on the receiving end of one big and heavy anvil at the end of this show. I would rather that she be redeemed and go on to live happily ever after with some other guy just as dumb as Chente.

But I don't think it's going to happen. It would go against the telenovela rule book.

Andy
