Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 70, Lunes, May 30, 2022 - Parte 1/4
As we predicted, Rosi is alive. She wakes up and sees her bar burning. She freaks out and goes to search for Panchita. They all manage to go outside, nobody got hurt or died. Why doesn't someone call the fire department? Andrés, Albín and other people are outside. Rosi starts crying and repeating "No, no!" She's a mess. Everyone is just standing there. Again, WHY WON'T SOMEONE CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT? Albín, says "Let's get out of here", while Rosi is still crying. She's getting worse by the second.
We see Pedro (Madrina's grandson) in a wheelchair. Adela is with him and her brother's also there. Adela and Pedro get in a house (Adela says "our house"). Félix and a cop are talking. Turns out they DID call the cops/fire department, because the cop tells Félix about the fire at Bar Alcalá.
Adela is telling Pedro how much she missed him, that she even contacted Madrina e.t.c. She then asks him what happened with the Reyes brothers (the twins). Pedro says that everything was going well, but they had set a trap. Even he doesn't know exactly what happened. He tells Adela that they'll reveal some truths and hide some others and if she still has a copy of the video, they can accuse the twins about what happened with her father. Adela nods.
Rosi is angry, because she obviously figured out that Sam did this. Andrés and Albín try to calm her down and tell her not to accuse anyone without proof, it could have been an accident or a random criminal's work. Rosi is certain it was Sam and Panchita adds that he could do way worse to JD, since he did this to his wife. Rosi says that she'll make him pay.
Félix and a cop (not the one he was talking to before, I think?) are talking. The cop asks him if he confirmed his suspicions and Félix says that he tried to and something else that my subtitles didn't catch. They translated something to "thousands", which I doubt is correct. Then the cop says that they have to catch the ones who killed the professor (lol, I don't blame the killers. He was a terrible person.)
Rosi went to Sam's and tells him that she knows he's the one who burned her bar/house down. Sam denies this, which just makes Rosi more angry. Sam offers her the maid's room (ouch) if she wants to. Rosi freaks out even more and Sam's thugs have to hold her. Before she leaves, she says that she won't tell him where Muriel is. Sam says that he'll find her on his own.
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 70, Lunes, May 30, 2022 - Parte 2/4
Rosi found somewhere to stay and is talking on the phone with Muriel. She screams at her, saying that she should have been here with her and tells her that if she doesn't come here right now she will have to face her father alone and that she will never talk to her again. Parenting 101 with Rosario Montes. Lesson #1: Threaten your kid by saying that, if they don't do x thing, you will never talk to them again.
Muriel is with JD. They talk a bit about Rosi• Muriel won't go. They start kissing.
Norma and Juan are in bed. Juan says that no man would be happier if he had a woman like Norma. Norma says "Juan David". Juan is confused and Norma tells him that JD is calling them (LOL). JD must have asked about Rosi's bar (we didn't hear his voice at this point). Then he talks a bit more. We can hear his voice now, but it's all recorded-like and I didn't understand anything. Juan tells him not to come here, to only do what is absolutely necessary and that they're going to face Sam.
It must be the next day. The (2nd) cop that was talking to Félix yesterday has showed up with a bunch of other cops to Norma and Juan's house. Terencio escorts them to where the twins are. Érick and León ask if it's about Dimi, but nope, Dimi hasn't been caught yet. The cops are here to ARREST the twins because of "new statements"! The cop says the "you have the right to remain silent, everything you will say can and will be used against you" e.t.c.
Norma and Quintina have freaked out and are talking to the officers as the take the twins to the police car, handcuffed. The twins (León, if I'm not mistaken) tells them not to worry and that they'll be out in a few hours.
Jimena tells Óscar what happened. Óscar leaves immediately. Bertha is there and asks Jimena if something serious happened. (No, Óscar almost beat Usain Bolt's record and it isn't anything serious.) Jimena responds that she hopes not.
The twins are being questioned. One cop shows them the video. Érick says that they have already seen this before and that it doesn't show all the facts. The twins ask how did they obtain the video and the other investigator responds that the person who filmed it sent it to them. León asks about their identity, but the cops refuse to say. Érick admits that they did fight with him and tied him up, but didn't kill him.
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 70, Lunes, May 30, 2022 - Parte 3/4
Norma, Juan, Óscar, Franco and other landowners have gathered and they talk to the police. Norma mentions their lawyers, FINALLY, but the police say something about the investigation being private so the can compare statements?! I don't think that's possible, everyone has a right to bring a lawyer with them. Maybe I missed something, but if I didn't that's a plot hole. Óscar says that he wants to make a statement too, but they don't let him.
The questioning continues. The twins are being completely honest, but the cops don't believe them (what a surprise!). They tell them the whole story, about Adela's pregnancy, the extortionist e.t.c.
Óscar is upset because he can't help the twins. Franco wants to help as well. He figures out that Óscar knows more than the rest and asks him what happened exactly. Óscar says that the only thing he can say is the the twins are innocent. He then says that he had to cross a thin line, because if not, the twins would have been dead. (So, he DID shoot Pedro...)
Now Pedro and Adela are being questioned. (When I said that my subtitles translated something into "thousands", that something was Pedro's last name.) Turns out Pedro was the one who filmed the video! He says that he saw the twins kill the professor and throw him in the lake. The cops ask him a few questions. He manages to respond in a sensible way. Then the cops ask him about the extortion.
Norma is talking on the phone with Sarita. Sarita is anxious because Franco hasn't returned yet (waiting for a few hours is nothing, dear. Viewerville had to wait for MONTHS) and because Dimi is on the loose. Norma says that Franco is already on his way (Franco is right next to her, by the way). Franco talks with Juan (I think he'll go home with Juan's car or something like that) and leaves. Juan now speaks with Óscar. Óscar is whining again that he has to protect the twins.
Pedro obviously denies the extortion. Adela backs him up, saying that the twins said they were going to surrender. She also said something about forgiving, that she's a forgiving person, to one of the cop's questions. Pedro tells them that he went to the cemetery to give the twins the video, but they had set a trap to kill him.
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 70, Lunes, May 30, 2022 - Parte 4/4
Gabriela and Dominga are talking. Gabriela wants Sara and Franco to come, Dominga says that Gaby told her they're on their way. Gabriela is happy, but is anxious again, because the cowboys told her about a "mysterious man" lurking around the hacienda (Dimi, obviously). Dominga says they told her too, and she pulls a gun. Gabriela's face was PRICELESS. Gabs tells her to give it to her, she doesn't want any accidents. Dominga does so. (Lol, Dominga must be the only person who actually held a gun correctly in a telenovela.) Gabs puts the gun in a drawer and leaves with Dominga, who wants her gun. (She also asks her who gave her the gun, but Dominga doesn't respond.)
The twins are questioned AGAIN. They admit that they went to the cemetery to give the money, that Érick tried to shoot the extortionist in self-defence, but the gun didn't work. Érick, though, says that HE killed the extortionist. León has a "?" face.
The cops tell Norma, Juan and Óscar that the twins confessed (for "killing" the extortionist). Norma and Juan can't believe it. Óscar wants to talk to Juan, but before he can tell him anything, Norma tells Juan that the officers let them see the twins. (If it wasn't for Norma, they would have never seen the twins lol.) Óscar says something like "I'm going to do it", so he's probably going to say the truth, that he shot Pedro in order to save the twins!
Norma and Juan get in and the cops bring the twins in. They hug them and Érick says that it's true, he did it. Lots of crying. Óscar gets in and says that the twins were completely innocent and he killed Pedro! He says that Pedro and Adela are were a relationship and repeats that the twins didn't do anything. Pedro was going to shoot and he did it to save the twins and that's the only truth. The cop is like, "jokes on you, that's not the only truth. Pedro is alive"! Pedro comes in the room and everyone is shocked.
Gabriela calls Dominga (not on the phone, I mean that she said her name multiple times in order for her to come here. My brain is lagging xD). Dominga doesn't respond, so Gabs continues. We see Dimi holding her (Dominga) by her neck and pointing a gun to her. Gabriela doesn't look as if she saw anything, even though they're right next to her...
And we have the Fin del Capítulo.
Excited for the Gran Final tomorrow!
Weirdo, I'm sorry. I'll try to contact Juanita. She is the only one who can rescue recap parts from Spam.
Weirdo: Sounds like Dominga will get whacked in tonight's Gran Final. I've got a feeling that he'll be gunning for Gaby AGAIN.
Great recap Weirdo, despite the missing part 2. So much happened in this episode, yet it feels “rushed.” Telemundo, for whatever reason, is ending this so quickly with not that many episodes to go. So, even though things are being resolved, it’s still choppy. I was kind of pissed at Albin and Andres for discouraging Rosario to “not” blame Sam. Even if it turned out to not be him, I’d blame him too! They don’t know his true character, and Rosario does. Yeah, he may not of put the match to the dynamite, but it most likely was on his order. You can’t “ make a crooked line straight!” You all know the hysterical and obsessive Rosario is not my favorite person, but she didn’t deserve to have her livelihood taken away from her——-probably the only joy she gets out of anything!
Oscar definitely seems like an underdeveloped character here, and could’ve used those few episodes to round him out a little bit more. The theme here seems to be some kissing, some hugging and then make up sex, lol. Juan and Norma seem to have gotten their sex life back on track——-after her earlier complaints…….
Also would like to see Franco get some help, or in the process of it. He’s dealing with everyone else’s problems, and not his own. It’s like they just left him out in the land of Oz all by himself, to find his own way home. Also “underdeveloped” storyline.
And I guess JD and Muriel are just gonna spend their days and nights making love until she either gets knocked up or, or he realizes that he misses his animals and needs to get back to work.
Oh well……disappointed with this final progression of the story, but not disappointed that I eventually took on PDG2…….. I hope Dominga is spared……
I saw a "pronto" for a new Turkish dizi, "Infiel", "Sadakatsiz" in Turkish. It's based on a British show. This just finished last week in Turkey. I haven't seen it. It stars Cansu Dere (she was in "Mother" that recently ended on Uni) and Caner Cindoruk. It's 60 Turkish episodes. Maybe this will be the new 10p?
I honestly don’t get Susan??? Why does she care what Cesur is up to, besides the obvious? It’s like she’s wasting her time and energy on trying to figure out what he’s up to, and if he’s telling the truth. Doesn’t she have a company or something to run? It almost seems pathetic that she’s chasing Cesur around———although it seems to be a big part of his plan…….
DIL is a calculating, evil wench isn’t she! Lucky for her that the Doc followed her lead, but it would’ve been a hoot if he hadn’t, lol. She clearly admitted that she would beg, borrow, steal or even kill to get what she wants. She’s both desperate and not at the same time. So far everything seems to be going her way……
Mean daddy is a trip and then some! One day he’s going to have a heart attack meddling in the lives of everyone, and keeping the townsfolk in check. Him and Miribhan do intrigue me though. I’m sure there’s much, much more to their story than what we’re getting so far. She’s not afraid of him, and that almost reeks of a previous “intimate” relationship? For him to even acknowledge what she says and does raises a lot of questions……….
Thank you Weirdo for another fantastic recap! And thank you for volunteering to help us recap and sharing this ride with us! It was certainly eventful!!
Carmella, I could copy/paste your entire comment I 💯 agree with every word!! And this: 'And I guess JD and Muriel are just gonna spend their days and nights making love until she either gets knocked up or, or he realizes that he misses his animals and needs to get back to work.' is ROTFL funny!!! Thanks for that!
I am wondering which part of Pedro's story is a lie? I mean apart from the obvious lie about the twins killing the prof. He said they would only tell part of the truth so it stands to reason he lied about something! Did he really record that video? Or did Adela? He put himself at the crime scene so he's a suspect, but was Adela there too? The police at least asked one smart question when they asked why he didn't record the murder...he recorded everything else and claimed to have witnessed the murder, so why stop the recording?? I don't think the Captain believed him.
Berta and Domingo two women nearly killed by psychos and they just get discharged from the hospital, put on their uniforms and go back to work! Lol
Oscar is still an incredibly unlikable jackass. Seriously, Juan should deck him again. How does he get off thinking he loves the twins more than their own parents? And he is the Savior of everyone?? I am not even sure Pedro would have shot if he hadn't shot first. This blowhard should go look after his own son - if he can even remember his name! I hope he gets convicted of attempted murder! Lol
Oh well it all comes down to tonight! I still wonder if the original episodes will be available to stream...
Fev, thanks for getting us started .
#soakedthor
Well, the fake pregnancy is still going .
What was up with Suhan and Thor in the apartment with the redhead and little girl ? Are they Thor\Ceasar's sister and niece ?
Was the portrait that Thor was staring at a portrait of his parents ? Were he and Suhan in her house?
I watched this last nite but remain totally confused..nice scene in the gyno's office. In fact the hospital scene was really bad..I have visions of kids having broken limbs set with a stick and duck tape after PA tossed everyone from the ER. So as we knew DIL had the fake preg...but was sister artificially empregnated with jr's. swimmers? I so don't get it.
I am equally confused by Cesur/the red head and the blonde annoying kid.
Jeez Suhan...WTF? Stalk much???
Maybe he is the only guy in town she could consider doing the naughty dance with. I don't think Cesur is hawt at all but compared to the rest of town..well.
FEV
Fev, I think the redhead (Banu) may be Cesur's lawyer. She's also either a relative or a good friend. It was amusing when Suhan knocked on the door, Cesur opens the door, and then the redhead appears carrying her baby (Omer), who calls out "papá." That sure surprised and upset Suhan, at least until it became clear that the baby wasn't his, and the redhead wasn't his wife.
Cesur tells Suhan he wants her to meet his mother, and then it looked as if the mother was visible via Internet/Zoom/whatever, rather than being in the apartment. And she sings--in English!
Cahide threatens to kill the doctor if he doesn't go along with her pregnancy story. For a minute, it looked as if he might tell the family the truth, but he understandably gets cold feet, given her threat and her powerful family by marriage.
Cahide has the surrogate well trained. When Korhan calls her, she tells him her name is Ayse and she's the doula. So though it looked for a while as if Korhan was going to discover that something was amiss, he now accepts "Ayse" as the doula and not cause for him to be suspicious.
Juanita....thanks . You answered a lot of questions for Me. So...We don't know exactly who the redhead with the kid is , but we ( and Suhan) now know that she's not Cesar's wife and the kid is not his . Thus, Suhan has an open field ,and she seems interested in Thor. Okay
Yikes ....Cahide threatened to kill the doctor . So we now know that Cahide is BSC.
Hi, everyone.
Steve, I was going to post a recap of last night's finale, but you kind of beat me to it, by posting the main highlights.
Darcy and Weirdo, it was so much fun "working" on this story with you. There were many highs (FRANCO!) and lows (Samuel...), but all in all, a nice stroll down memory lane for those of us who watched the original. I will be back with my own thoughts on the show later, everyone else feel free to discuss.
Well, Tuesday night's episode told us a bit more about the main characters. At the start, we again see Suhan and Cesur looking at a framed picture. Suhan tells Cesur that they were her grandparents (she names them, but I don't recall the names, except that the last name was Korludag). Cesur is clearly very interested in the picturre. He asks Suhan whether she knew her grandparents. No, she says, they died very tragically before I was born. There was a fire where they were living. Her grandmother couldn't walk and was unable to escape. She died, and her husband committed suicide after the fire, having lost everything. Cesur seems close to tears. He claims he's very tired and leaves.
It's still pouring out. We see Suhan stand at the window, watching him flag a cab and leave. He has flashbacks of himself as a child watching his mother collapse in shock/grief while speaking on the phone. We also see the young boy tell his mother that he doesn't want to move back to Geneva. She says she doesn't, either, but all their friends are there, and work is there. "Your father will always be with us, in our hearts," she tells him.
Soon after the scene with Suhan and Cesur looking at the picture of the people she claims are her grandparents, there's a scene with Korhan (Talsin's son) drunk in a bar. Talsin enters. Talsin berates his son and tells him that he and Cahide can deal with their problems after the birth of the grandchild, but right now all that's important is the grandchild. Korhan asks why Talsin doesn't love him, and why the grandchild is so important. "Why is it so important to you to put down roots? It's because you don't have roots!" Korhan says. He claims that his father tells one lie after another. He mentions "all the photos that supposedly disappeared in the fire. It's all a lie," he says. It seems quite possible that the people in the picture Suhan thinks are her grandparents are not. Indeed, since Cesur is so upset when he looks at the picture, they may be related to him. The plot thickens.
Susanlynn, I think last night's episode gives us a bit more about Banu, the redhead with the baby. In this episode, she seems to want to get back with Cesur. Apparently they were together sometime in the past. However, Cesur tells her that that was long ago, and that resuming a relationship would just make things more confusing for her and for him.
There's a lot about last night's episode that I don't understand. For example:
1) Cesur's flashback where his mother tells the lawyer or judge that her dead father-in-law left a letter (which she shows) asking that the inheritance be rejected. She wants to honor his wishes. What inheritance, and why should it be rejected?
2) Who exactly is the woman serving as a surrogate for Cahide? Is she Cahide's sister? What is her name?
3) I think I may have been wrong when I said (a day ago) that Cesur's mother was visible only through the Internet or Zoom or whatever. There was a scene last night where he is at his mother's bedside. He tells her "We're very close. It won't be long now. I will keep my promise. I will have revenge." Is the mother living with Cesur? If so, why did he seem to show her to Suhan on some kind of device?
I didn't watch the Gran Final, but here are some personal thoughts about it, from Steve's comment:
I'm glad Dimi died, because death was what he deserved. I loved the fact that Gabs did it. I hope Dominga survived!
Adela was the obvious answer to the big question, "who killed the professor?" I kind of wanted them to build the story in a way that there were some clues for us to figure it out and I wanted it to be a different murderer. To me, it looked like they had their initial idea, forgot about the storyline and at the last few episodes were like "oh, crap, we have the whole murder thing too!" and rushed it up. The rushing might have happened because of Telemundo's decision to end this 9 episodes early, though, so I don't blame (only) the writers here. Also, what happened to Óscar? Did the police not do anything about him?
The Muriel-JD storyline was a bit... odd? The whole plot was "oh, Franco's nephew fell in love with the daughter of Franco's ex, said ex basically raped JD and became obsessed with him." She pissed us off for the rest of the show and all of that for Muriel and JD acting like they don't care about anything and basically kiss every episode? And Muriel pregnant? Really? How common.
I'm happy the twins were released, I had no doubt about it.
Gald Pedro was caught, his annoying, stupid face will look great behind bars.
NOOOOO. Why did Rosi end up with Sam? They were bothe messed up and stuff, but I think that the writers shouldn't show things like that. Ladies, go back to your husbands who are abusing you, 'cause why not? Rosi wasn't a saint, but they should have thought about the audience here.
They show us that the Elizondos and the Reyes got threating letters, but not from WHOM they got them? I'm confused, why did they end this way? Someone here said that Danna García confirmed that there won't be a third season, so the last scene was confusing to me.
Final thoughts: I didn't really like the ending, I was happy for a few things, meh for others and "WTF! Why did they do that?" others.
I was disappointed also with this ending, but I was also disappointed early on in this novela too. It was like they (the writers) lost their way, and I can see why the audience numbers dwindled. I do believe that once the network committed to 80 episodes, they should’ve seen them through no matter what! To quit on these excellent actors and rush things to the point of head spin isn’t fair to the viewers who did hang in there. That being said, Telemundo has a history of this sort of thing……
Rosario turned out to be the bitch that I always knew she was. She didn’t get JD so she purposely turned Sam on them! So much for motherly love and affection. She deserves Sam and I hope they drive each other to drink.
No surprise to me that Muriel ended up pregnant. Even though it was a bit “cliche,” what do you expect from rabbits in consummate rabbit mode? The writers didn’t know what to do with these two either. They had chemistry imo, but there wasn’t enough of that lovers “angst” to keep us glued until the end.
They spent way too much time on Romina, and not enough time basing the relationship between Oscar, Jimena and Duvan in reality. Their relationship was the biggest disappointment. I ended up really liking the twins, but again, their storyline became almost non existent.
Then there’s Franco! Not enough time to explore all the time he lost from his family, and why. I honestly thought that when Albin mentioned the guy who tricked Franco, that the guy would somehow show up so that Franco could get some closure—— and the help that he so obviously needed. Franco’s mental health is left up in the air. I enjoyed him and Sarita though, and believe they’ll be okay. Sarita is definitely a “ride or die” kinda woman….
Dimi had to die, psycho that he was, and there was no growth whatsoever in Gabriela’s character. She was the same as in the first novela, begging for forgiveness afterwards. The flashbacks with Adela and Pedro were interesting, but also very rushed. At least we did get closure on the Professor’s death. Juan and Norma remained solid, something that I also liked about this story.
I also liked the characters of Gaby, Andres, Albin, Madrina and Panchita, and their contribution to the plot. Even Gunther, though I couldn’t stand him, lol! But I guess the story couldn’t overcome its under-development of the plot or its characters…….
Carmela, I agree with everything that you wrote, especially about Romina. We spent sooo many episodes on her madness, which was shown in excruciating detail, only making Oscar look worse.
Then there was Rosario, who had a huge presence especially at the beginning of the novela. JD and Muriel feel like the mandatory love story, but I would have prefered anyone but them, they were both so bland, especially JD.
I did like how the twins were developped, they started out like two unsufferable twits, but became likable down the line. At the very least they proved they were there for their family, as opposed to JD, the golde. child, who almost had all his family killed bu Samuel Caballero.
I believe Franco's story was one of the main things to be cut from the final episode count. We didn't see his rescue, his reunion with Juan and Norma... and his very severe PTSD was cured by jumping in the sack with Sarita.
Too bad there os no third part, I'm curious to know what other nutjob coule Gabriela bring in the family.
Ah, well, what are we watching next?
Yeah, Adriana, they did build up JD like he was the 2nd coming of the savior, but they “neutered” him like the vet that he supposedly was, pretty quickly. I loved the prospect of him and Muriel, especially when they first met, but they fizzled instead of sizzled. I’d heard that the JD actor gave an awesome performance in a previous novela, and I’m sorry that I didn’t get to see any of those acting chops……
I thought someone said who died, when everyone received those blue cards with the white flower on them?????
I agree with all the above! The end was unsatisfying. Some of it may have to do with the missing nine episodes - I am sure they filmed all 80 episodes and then hacked them up in editing to end sooner. It didn't flow well at all and there was zero suspense as there otherwise would be - ie. One minute Adela is willingly lying to the police and the next morning she eagerly confesses the truth...what happened? Why did she change her tune? I am sure this is on the cutting room floor. Along with what happened to Adela after? Was she convicted of killing her father too? Pedro was the only arrest shown.
Rosi turning on Muriel was despicable but expected - but even this was a hatch job. One minute she is still determined to get JD and the next she's wishing Panchita a fond farewell? To answer your question Weirdo, she went back to Sam because she felt like she could manipulate him from the inside....so it wasn't a true reconciliation more of a mutual destruction pact.
They ended with all the threats because they originally intended a season 3 but it got scrapped when the ratings weren't there....that said, they should have cut all that while they were chopping since they aren't going to follow up on it.
The family stuff at the end at Muriel and JD's wedding was cute, but again showed something is clearly missing (ie. 9 episodes) because Leon was with a girl we didn't know but they were close enough that she was in the family pic? Albin wasn't there. Eric and Siblia were together (another plot line undeveloped that would have been more interesting than Romina)
Felix was completely innocent I guess? The actor was still good at shady.
In my opinion they should have ended with Franco and Sarita's wedding!! 1. They probably need one since she divorced him in his absence. 2. It would have been a cool full circle moment since Season 1 ended with Franco and Sarita's wedding.
My biggest disappointments were: JD - they started off so good with his character and then just made him vanila, boring, uninteresting and weirdly enteracting with both mother and daughter. Oscar - he was just horrible!!! Totally awful and NO ONE held him accountable for anything!!!!
Well, thank you Adriana!! It was fantastic sharing this recapping journey with you! Weirdo too though I thanked her yesterday. I appreciate you both partnering with me to bring all the recaps of this crazy, creepy, sometimes non-sensical, and always too dark tale!!! It was a fun ride though~ :)
Juanita, thanks. You answered more questions for me.
Yes, the plot thickens .We know old dad is not a nice person , and as in so many dizis , the grandchild is super important to the evil , rich old guys. Why???...so they can ruin another person ? It's all about the dynasty of wealth and power. Produce an heir and then the heir must produce an heir ...and so on.
So...Bahun had a relationship with Cesar and wants it back , so she will be Suban's rival for fair Cesar. We always need a rival.
Well, at least Cesar doesn't have angry bangs , and he isn't melting down with yelling\crying tantrums.... yet. So far , he is stoic, strong , silent, mysterious, blonde Thor. I'm good with that . Let's hope he does not turn into Gorgeouscreepy . I didn't like that turn of events in Hercai.
I'm catching up with the recaps and comments, but I wanted to say that I deleted Steve's comment. Since I posted the pages for this week over the weekend, I can do that. It's very bad manners here at Caray to put up revealing comments before the recapper has a chance to post his or her recap. This applies when you know there is a dedicated recapper who will be posting a recap of that evening's episode, and especially so for the gran final.
I also hated the ending. I especially hated every single scene that I saw (admittedly not all of them) with those stupid, stupid cops. Also, this novela was supposed to be in Latin America. In this country that warning about self-incrimination came from the 1966 Supreme Court decision now usually referred to as "Miranda". Do they have this in Latin America or does Telemundo just throw it in there? In any case the twins were too dumb to clam up.
Thanks for mentioning, Darcy, that that was Sibila with Erick. They at least gave us a lead-up to them being attracted to each other.
A huge disappointment for me was Gunter surviving. That snake is still Sam's right-hand flunky and all of his scheming paid off.
Since I caught up on both last night, I want to thank Weirdo for her excellent recap. I especially liked the Usain Bolt reference.
Regarding the gun. When Gabriela put it in that drawer, I knew. It was definitely a "Checkhov's Gun" moment.
We got two speeches from the two who deserve each other. Sam says that Rosi is stupid and he has no use for her. And Rosi, saying goodbye to Panchita, says that Sam down deep can't do without her and wants her back. I am inclined to believe Rosi. And she seemed to have some plans to torture him, so there's that.
Thanks, Darcy, for mentioning the fact that another season was planned, explaining those weird black folders being sent. And, yes, they should have cut it.
My favorite part was Juan's joy at becoming a grandfather.
Juanita, I have many of the same questions you do. It was kind of funny that Suhan, for all her protestations, was definitely expecting that kiss in her Istanbul house (or apt). At that point I was thinking she and Cesur must be cousins, if those are their mutual grandparents. And the reason Cesur's father died was because of Tahsin, the son of those two in the portrait.
But later on Suhan's poor brother, drunk in a bar, shouts at his father that he is not part of this illustrious family. And that he was brought up in an orphanage. So I guess the cousin part is out the window.
Also, they showed Cesur faking out Suhan (knowing she was following him) by placing flowers at a grave with the surname he's using. And then we see him salute a gravestone of a real ancestor with a different name. I'm sorry. Google doesn't seem to have a really good list of the names of the characters so I'm struggling to get the names right.
I thought it was Cesur's father who wrote that letter renouncing the family inheritance.
Another thing I don't understand is the parentage of the egg in the surrogate. They revealed that the SIL had undergone IVF and had eggs extracted. So, are we meant to believe that the fetus developing in the rather shady surrogate is biologically the SIL and her browbeaten husband? If it was a viable embryo, why didn't it get implanted in her?
I was just green with jealousy at all that rain pouring down. We Californians are so, so sick of another drought and dreading the likely forest fires to follow.
Wonder what kinda past is between the surrogate and Bulent?
Also, how is Cesur ever going to go through with his revenge plan when every time he sees a pic, or painting or whatever related to his stolen family, he either freezes, tears up, barely represses his anger, or runs away???? Looks like Mean daddy definitely stole Cesur’s family’s heritage…….he’s such a hateful man. I wonder how the actor playing Mean daddy sustains that snarl on his face in every scene?!?!? Kudos to him!
Praying for rain for Cali…….
Maybe Spanish TV channels should re-think the way that they present novelas, and do like 8-12 episodes with a short break in between, and 2 or 3 seasons, maybe more if it’s a really popular one. That seems to be the thing these days instead of stories that last for months on end………..plus they could pump out of few of these at a time to keep their viewing audience interested and salivating for the next season…….just a thought……
Carmella: I'm wondering if Creepy Samuel was the one who sent those threatening letters ?
Adriana: You can do the full recap of last night's Gran Final.

More confused thoughts. Here's what Tahsin said to Cesur, IIRC, about the paintings. There were several of them in the family home and painted by a famous artist. He had someone (Cesur's father, I think) paint copies. The originals, except for two, were sold off to finance Tahsin's olive oil empire. The copies were put on the walls to comfort his father. But this can't be true because we now know that Tahsin was not even a member of that family. And Tahsin said that the one he was showing Cesur was worth 3 times his whole house. I believe that to be true.
Thanks for your kind wishes, susanlynn, wishing us rain. California has a so-called Mediterranean climate. It rains in the winter. And almost never past March. When I moved here long, long ago, I was astounded at having to do my Christmas shopping in downpours. In Ohio it rained some days and nights all year long. We Buckeyes knew that planning an outdoor BBQ almost guaranteed rain.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who finds this dizi rather confusing. Novelera, like you, I'm quite mystified about the biological parentage of the grandchild-to-be. If it was Cahide's eggs that were used and Korhan's sperm, the only reason I can think of for not implanting the embryo in Cahide is that she doesn't want the inconveniences/discomforts of being pregnant, and perhaps also the lasting effects it might have on her figure. But I still don't see how she thinks she's going to look convincing as the pregnancy enters the 3rd trimester.
As for the inheritance that Cesur's mother turns down, the letter and wish to reject the inheritance are from her father-in-law, who in fact I now see had the same first name as the supposed grandfather of Suhan: Muzafer. Aha! Judging from what Korhan said to his father about their whole history being made up of lies, my guess is that Talsin passed off the older couple in the picture as his parents, whereas in fact they're probably Cesur's paternal grandparents.
Patiently waiting for the finale recaps
Thank you Adriana, Darcy and Weirdo for your great recaps throughout this novela.
Novelera, Carmella, Darcy, Weirdo, Jacky, Adriana & Co.,: Have y'all been watching this Telenovela on weekday afternoons 12:00 PM CST ?
Steve Boudreaux
It was great writing recaps with Darcy and Adriana! I hope we collaborate again soon!
Also, another thing: Adán just left when Norma gave him money? What was that all about? If this happened in real life, he would keep asking for more money.
Steve, I do not watch Hasta que la Plata nos Separe.
I am so confused about this entire tele..yet it is like a bad accident, I can't look away. Yeah Cahide & BSC sister are so over the top. Okay I get the eggs and sperm are Korhans and Cahide's. Maybe Cahide's uterus can't support a fetus. So why is a surrogate such a bad thing?
As for the rest of it; I have no idea. Bulent and the hook up between him and surrogate seems to be a random thing. Him offering to stay quiet if he can have Suhan seem a bit short sited. I mean the doctor was killed what makes him think he won't be.
And Cesur and his buddy sneaking in to exchange painting was so stupid it was painful to watch. (Yet I do watch).
This is so crazy, I am kinda rooting for crazy surrogate to just kill everyone and turn the town into a Turkish version of "Village of the Damned" or "Children of the Olives".
Now I am "Old Horror Movies" FEV
Hi everyone, this is my 1st post! I wanted to thank Darcy, Adriana, and Weirdo for making the first half of 2022 amazing and hilarious! Your recaps were truly a delight. Well done! What's next?
Welcome, Jasmine! I'm glad we have new members joining! I'm fairly new myself, actually (I joined on March this year) and I instantly loved the community. Hope you do too!
It's always nice to see people's comments about our recaps, so, thanks for that.
Currently, in the Telemundo page, there are comments about the Turkish telenovela Amor Valiente, who just started airing 2-hour episodes. There are people posting highlights, as you may have seen, but there aren't people who volunteered for recaps, like we organised Pasión. (There's also Hasta que la Plata nos Separe, but not many people are watching, so we don't really comment on that.)
There's also the Univisión page, there are more telenovelas being discussed and a new one just started, I think, La Mexicana y el Güero, if I'm not mistaken.
I personally won't recap amor-val (the tag for Amor Valiente) because 2-hour episodes are too much for me.
I'm not sure if I can answer your question, what's next, because it's technically up to you. You can comment on amor-val or on the Univisión page, or you can maybe even recap! I know it sounds overwhelming, but don't worry, I felt the same but I enjoyed it a lot! And my Spanish isn't even that good! Lol, me recapping happened because my phone didn't update the site. It's a weird and funny story.
I hope to see you commenting (or recapping, we really need it) again soon!
(I definitely didn't expect this to be this long. I sound like an extrovert sometimes, even though I'm an introvert lol.)
Thank you, and welcome!!
I am not sure what is next for me going to take a family break and then see. I am watching La Hija del Embajador on Unimas though, well more reading Dondi's fantastic recaps than actually watching but I will catch up one of these days!
Darcy: I see one of the previews of "La Reina del Sur 3" on TV, which tells me that the 3rd Season is supposed to be debuting on Telemundo very soon & probably replacing one of the Turkish TV Dramas.
Thank you, Weirdo, for your welcoming comment to Jasmine. I also want to chime in and say it's always nice to see a newby on our precious Caray site. I just did the math and came up with having commented and/or recapped here for 17 years! My first was Alborada, which aired in 2005.
Right now we don't have anyone recapping. Hasta que la plata nos separe was not well received and has moved to 1:00PM. Annoyingly enough, instead of just starting where it was, Epi 8, I believe, they ran it AGAIN from the beginning. Just not enough interest for anyone to recap.
I also am very, very grateful to Adriana Noel, Darcy Buchanan and Weirdo for all those terrific recaps of Pasión. I watched early on when Telemundo didn't continue the second season of Hercai: Amor y Venganza right away. I can't even remember what they put on there at 9:00 after season 1. Telemundo's apparent frantic juggling of shows to get ratings is exhausting. They moved up Part 2 and we had, fantastically enough, a recapper for each night for most of that run.
We are mostly just getting random comments about Amor Valiente. So far I'm lukewarm about it. Our resident expert on Turkish dizis (telenovelas), dondi356, assures us that this is a good one. But having just watched a plot about a guy who courts a woman as part of his revenge against her father, I'm not loving watching the same thing.
So, it wasn't too painful to watch a two-hour episode last night because the NBA Finals don't start until tonight! And, of course, the joys of a DVR allow me to begin watching a half hour or so into it and skip the commercials and promos for new shows.
As FEV mentioned, Cesur and Rifat managed to steal those two valuable paintings and replace them with copies. These writers seem to show things I don't care about and omit things I'd like to know...like who painted the copies.
Almost caught inside the house when Suhan unexpectedly came back because she got mud on her pants, Cesur kisses her so Rifat can sneak past her. But some guards or something grab him up anyway. Some good lies get Rifat out of the pickle.
I'm not 100% positive, but I don't think the bun in the oven is actually the SIL's bio kid. And the "surrogate" turns out to be a killer. This was deeply weird. The doctor who faked the sonogram is found dead and the surrogate is shown burning his clothes. He'd already agreed to play along because of his gambling debts, so why kill him?
Bulent, Suhan's boyfriend before Cesur rode into town, is a jerk. He stayed in the surrogate's house to mess with the SIL when she showed up. I can't remember the names of these people and can't find the usual Wiki to help me. Anyway, it looks like the SIL is going to try to do what Bulent wants and talk to Suhan about going back with him. It looks like the SIL and Bulent have a "mutually assured destruction" pact going. She won't say she knows he burned down Cesur's house with Tahsin inside. And he won't tell the SIL's family she's not really pregnant.
Cesur's lawyer, as has been mentioned, wants to get him back. That dark stripe in the part of her dyed hair bothers me. She's definitely going to be on the scene constantly trying to scuttle Cesur and Suhan's relationship.
Still lots of mysteries, but they showed something of Tahsin's evil past. The people he has claimed are his parents are burning to death in a fire he likely started. He doesn't go to their aid, but instead takes their portrait off the wall to use in his pretense he's related to them.
Welcome, Jasmine! Pull up a chair on the patio.
I’ll repeat, this dizi wasn’t best or worst I’ve seen but overall, I liked it. At least it's not very long. I am a Tuba fan so that’s why I watched it. I’m not a huge fan of Kıvanç, but he’s a good actor, certainly better than A.A, IMHO. I believe Telemundo made a mistake running it so soon after that Midyat dizi. I’m kind of surprised they did. I think we all have revenge fatigue, novelera!
I'm afraid of commenting or explaining too much for fear of spoiling.
Recapping Embajador is keeping me busy right now. Telemundo has to do better than this to keep me hooked. I know we are all waiting for LRDS 3.
