Mi Fortuna Es Amarte #85 06/24/22: Much Ado About Everything

At Constanza's palatial manse the familial reunion "de verdad" is finally taking place. Samia asks how her adoption plans are progressing and Elias adds the icing on my cake by telling her how he admires Connie's courage to become parents at her age.  (Finally,a bit of sparsely sprinkled sanity.)  Connie defends her actions to assist her niece, Andrea, in her time of need as well despite nasty accusations of her family.  No matter.  That is resolved now with the marriage.  Samia takes her leave and Eli makes his proposition to Conz: how would you like to raise my future heir out of the country but by your side and avoid his being a social climber like his mother?  Connie is prepared to do ANYTHING!

Queue the now happily engaged future parents of the Hadad Heir, little prince Andreomi.  Samia takes one look at Andi's belly and crudely suggests it's a good thing the wedding is around the corner or her dress would never manage to cover it.

In the belly of the barrio, Kimberly rollerskates into the rooming house patio area to visit with Juanga.  She commiserates over Jose Jose's legal calamity.  Chole joins the chatter.  Vicente comes in stating the obvious: they must find a good lawyer to resolve JJ's plight or he'll spend the rest of his life (well, at least veinte years of it) in prison--courtesy of rich Regina (showing her true loyalties) who accused JJ without knowing all the facts.

Eli asks about Lorenzo, who's still in serious condition; Samia suggests their taking the city apartment and getting out of such a dangerous neighborhood.  Andi refuses and takes offense.  Millions of people live in similar places and do very well as middle-class citizens!  There's no reason to leave.  Eli insults his son for being childish and leaves.

Back at the boarding house, Olga rubs her arms up and down on "her intended's" back and arms while she voices her "adult" version of concern over the vicious, well-heeled, bankrolling bullies once in the barrio. (Viewerville recoils the moment they see those maniclaws appear anywhere near Chente.)  According to Ms. Knowitall, aka, "La Sabelotodo", these wealthy won't stop until they have his head!  (Will somebody please put her back into her Bride of Chucky's toy box?) Chente mentions that Hair Boy's tia has now hired an expensive mouthpiece to defend her case.  They are all noes and woes as in enters Gustavo, shocking Chole at the sudden and unexpected sight of him.  She rolls her eyes and leaves the room.  He offers his assistance.

We beam back to Conz's majestic manse to watch as Mario of the Barrio and his maiden mechanic make their premier entrance to the party as the daring duo of the evening.  Valentina trips on her "tacones" (high heels).   Conz and Samia agree that a taste of the common can be, unfortunately, habit-forming.  They escape the room.  Andi walks over and teacheTina the proper way to balance in them.  (10 points to Team Barrio.)

Meanwhile, although Tavo's there to lend a hand to Chente with JJ's legal situation, Chente chides him for abandoning Chole.  Both arrogant men are convinced of false "facts" of circumstance.  (Yawn.)  FF>>FF>>  Tavo agrees to disagree.  Chente says he doesn't recognize his old friend and leaves the room.

Chole thanks the diosito for her child.  Tavo cries over the picture from the ultrasound.  FF>>FF>>

Elias advises Mario he should learn not to bring his trailer trash to upper-class social functions.  Mario changes the subject to wanting to become a part of his truly high-income bidnez dealings.  Elias wonders if Mario truly has the testicles to triumph in such atmospherically elevated dealings and more so, where such a desire has come from.  But, just before Mario can answer, "The Couple of the Evening" arrives.  Conz gives a grand toast.

Vulga purposely tells Magos about JJ's being jailed and the old lady becomes immediately subject to whatever ailment.  (Queue the rattlesnake tails.)

Outside the manse, Adrian calls Simba and orders him to rob and burn down Natalia's house so she has nothing left but him to rely on..  Simba says after what happened to Lorilocks, with the cops and such it would be better to hold off a while till things calm down there. Adi says not possible and it better be done tonight.

So, Magos cannot believe that Nata despite the jealousy would allow her grandson to be thrown to the wolves like this.  Vulga says do believe it.  They've got their chess pieces ready for a checkmate.  Everyone from Natalia and hubby, to the police to the judges --They will be well paid to throw the book at JJ.  Magos cries over all the brutality towards them.  Vulga says she warned her and Chente.  Now they can see it themselves how they'll blame JJ and he'll go to prison for the rest of his life.

Inside now, Adi is toasting his wife and promising to live for her alone and he's extremely grateful for this opportunity.  Before the others can applaud or even drink to the toast, in walks Veronica.  She claps and makes her entrance. She chides him over what trash he told Nata.  It's a shame he truly feels nothing for his wife.  Suddenly Nata recognizes the ruby necklace and earrings Vero's wearing as those given to her by Adrian as her 20th-anniversary gift.  "--How wonderful of you to notice!"  This has made Vero's evening.  Nata yells over to Connie that she sold it to Conz and answers how Vero now has it. Vero lies in front of the gawking guests, that Conz loaned it to her.

Connie rushes over to call Vero a liar and no friend of hers; it was stolen!  How does Vero suddenly have it?  "Well, Constanza, if you're not with me, then you're against me."  Vero will clarify why this dinner is such a ridiculous fraud.  She walks over to Nata and hands her the necklace.  "Nata's the rightful owner."  She hands it over to Nata and tells her to keep it as a reminder that on the night of her anniversary her hubby chose to run off with her instead!  Conz runs over and tries grabbing it out of Vero's hands but it breaks and falls to the floor.  Oh, Connie wants it, informs Vero in front of fixated family and friends, because it represented Connie's triumph. Conz commands her to shut up, but the vamp is on a roll.  "--She always knew that Adrian and I were lovers and of course, didn't tell you.  She wanted to see you humiliated and impoverished."

Back at the rooming house, Magos finds Chente and yells at him for not telling him about JJ's being in jail.  Why did she have to hear it from that vulture Vulga instead of straight from him?   For health reasons.  (Ding, ding, ding!)  The reasoning of Vulga's pointedly divulging this bad news goes right over his dimwitted head.  Magos says she knows that Regi's a sweet child down deep, so why accuse him like this?  He explains that everyone, including the police, found him (this most brilliant of boys) holding the pipe in his hand.  It's got to be some sort of mix-up.  Magos begs him to convince Nata of his probable innocence and to help them avoid this tragic injustice.

Nata drags off her sister to the woodshed and Andi reproaches Vero.  She tells her to recognize Papi's chosen Mami over her.  So, scram!  Vero smirks and says Nata's making the mistake of her life to believe that.  Adi keeps telling her to get out but pointedly won't confirm Andi's statements that he feels nothing for Vero now.  Suddenly Andi has belly pains.  Vero caresses Adi's face and tells him to come to her when he gets bored with the whole family scene again.

Parte 2~~

While Omi worries over Andi's upset tummy....Nata yells at Connie for having kept her mangled marriage from her.  Conz shouts back it's not her fault Nata chose to turn a blind eye to it all and live in her family fantasy world.  Nata says it's more than that and she knows it!  She purposely wanted to humiliate her and see her struggle.  That's because Nata always was criticizing her at every turn.  AS if that's not enough, Nata was always rubbing Connie's nose in it: Nata had such a perfect life!  You had a dreamy husband, perfect, beautiful children...while I was barren !  (And, we might add, married to mehhh-looking mechanic from the barrio who was too ugly to want to have children with.)  Therefore, she admits she was thrilled to see her world fall to pieces, to be forced to live with the bilge of the barrio, then to have found a new love and to have lost him due to his knocking up another woman.  "--I was happy.  I am overjoyed because you don't deserve to be happy!"  Nata slaps the crap ouwda Connie; she returns the favor.  Both sides of  Viewerville are content...sort of.  Nata tells her that Life/Fate can judge her.  She won't.  (She's too dim to do it anyway.) "--People who judge others--like you do-- always come to a bad end."

When Nata arrives home from the party, her house is being vandalized.  She tries fighting them and calling the police but cannot manage it.  Somehow Chente just happens along and runs in to fight the remaining vandal.  He's in a ski mask.  She has managed to scratch him.  However he manages to fight off Chente and runs into the street where Mario hits him accidentally with his car.  Mario gets out to check on the body, just as Chente runs out and the guy jumps up and runs away.  Chente tells Mario to not let the guy get away.  They race after him.

Inside the house, Nata cries over the mess they made.  Tina comes in and Nata tells her about what just happened and that she managed to scrape and draw blood with her nails on the dirtwad's neck.

Chente and Mario catch up with the guy and beat the snot out of him till his four gangster buddies corner them and pull a gun on the two of them.  So much for heroics.

Returning to Connie's now, Tavo remarks that the dinner party seems to have ended early.  Yup. Vero showed up.  So....and the worst of it was that she had on her ruby necklace.  What did he know of that?  Nothing, he answers.  She says better be cuz the tramp is jumpiing from lover to lover: first Adi and now Eli, not to mention Mario.

Simba runs into Claudio in the park and says he wants to borrow some cash or else!  Clod hands him the cash and remarks on Simba's neck scratch FF>>FF>>

Chente and Mario return to Nata's home and get a bit of medicine on their wounds.  They don't understand the reason to have torn her house apart.  Suddenly it dawns on Chente and Nata that maybe this same gang is responsible for all the recent mishaps and brutality in the barrio.  Could it be that they beat up Lorilocks and his brother's paying for their crime?  She's never believed JJ capable of such a thing.  Yes, she will definitely speak to Regi about this and see if she will see reason.

At the same time, Simba races over to Vulga's room and tells her about the monkey bidnez that just went down at Nata's and Chente and that he gave Chente a good knifing for trying to play heros and villains with him.  She tells him no way he gets to do harm to the father of her kid.  "--I wish I'd have killed him!  Why should he marry you when the kid you're expecting we know is mine!"  Uh-unnn!  Understand that kid's not yours!  "--Of course the kid's mine! and I am only warning you that things have gone bad and now I have to hide.  I'm not going alone.  You and my kid are going with me!"

Nata is totally depressed over the way her entire household and especially her professional kitchen was left in ruin.  She agrees to his sleeping downstairs this evening.  "--I will never leave you alone."  They hug.  Just then Adi, Andi and Omi arrive.  Adi makes a big deal about what could have happened there.

Simba threatens to spill the beans on Vulga if she doesn't leave with him.  She threatens to go to the police.  He tells her she's got more to lose than him.  However, he's got to leave there till the business with the rich kid is over.  Olga gives him crap for doing it and allowing Chente's kid brother go to jail for it.  Well, says Simba, it's a shame cuz the guy's one of them but that's the way the cookie crumbles.  He only cares about her and his kid now.  And if she doesn't get her crap together the whole barrio is going to know he's the baby daddy. He checks if the coast is clear.

Clod arrives at the rooming house with 3 months rent in his hand.  Chole agrees as long as he keeps his drinking under control.

Tina persuades Mario to spend the night with her.  FF>>FF>>

Simba goes to the bad boy cave and pays off his buds.  He tells them to hide out for a while and tomorrow he also is heading out with Olga.  How does he plan to win that babe over?  Because he is the baby daddy but don't tell anybody!

Nata and Adi send Andi and Omi home.  There's been an annoying unknown phonecall coming in to Adi's phone.  He won't answer it he says becaus it's a stranger calling.  Nata refuses to stay anywhere but at her own house for the night.   He says he will stay.  She says, then stay down in the living room on the couch.  He tries, but she ably refuses to kiss each other good night. AS she walks up the stairs to her room, Adi tells himself that eventually Nata will fall into his trap.

Super thanks to Juanita for posting a terrific recap of #84!!

All is up, Patio Peeps. It was not that long after all.

O/T Judy, it's been sunny and way too dry in SW FL this time of year. But we have no red tide now and I plan to drive to the beach! Hubby and I would love to have you sitting in the back seat of the convertible, hair blowing in the wind, taking in the view and breathing in the warm, salt air. We'll be thinking of you!

Jardinera, superb.

Much glittering gold including “Hadad Heir, little prince Andreomi” and “La Sabelotodo" among many.

So Eli is going to spirit his grandson away so Conz will raise him. Has he met her? Have they spoken?

We know there is no way Simba is going to drag Olga to hell (her crimes and misdeeds will bring her there on her own). Will Olga kill Simba? Something will need to intervene.

Chente finally has a somewhat enlightened thought in that the bad barrio boys might be responsible (not to be confused with the even clumsier but rather good hearted Bowery boys).

So glad Connie had a big ole emerald necklace and matching earrings to wear as her ruby necklace was otherwise occupied hanging around Vero’s neck.

There isn’t enough broken glass in the world that Tavo will need to crawl through in atonement for the scathing, disgusted up and down look he gave Chloe.

I did enjoy the scene where Andrea was teaching Vale to walk in heels with Conz and Sami rolling their eyes in the background.

“Mario of the Barrio and his maiden mechanic” made me cringe. How clumsy and the most unromantic and unbelievable “seduction” I’ve ever seen.

Still, I’m a bit hopeful the tide is starting to turn.

Clod is way past his expiration date.

Jardinera, I hope you and your hub have a great time at the beach – Judy is the best of company.

This was marvelous – thank you!

Diana

Diana:

Bowery Boys! Definitely! Does that take me back or what? I used to watch those old B&W movies growing up. Thanks for the memories, amiga!
Eli and Conz are possibly part of the same rotten apple crop if not dropped from the same rotten apple tree.

Tavo is the pits about now. But then, he is a bulb or two shy of a full pack anyway for marrying Connie and believing her tripe, let alone staying with her all these years.

Jardinera, thank you for an excellent account as the villains ramp up the evil and the innocence continue to suffer.

When the hired hoodlums were vandalizing nat's home , I wondered who had the job of cleaning up that mess.

Simba seems to be Adrian's,trouble for hire . Maybe he will rat on Adrian eventually. I hope Simba kidnaps Olga and drags her off somewhere. Is he as obsessed with her as she is with Chente? Olga and Simba seem destined to do each other in . Maybe Olg will die protecting Chente from crazy bad Simba.

Gee that ruby necklace and earring set got passed around ...from Adrian to Nat to Con then stolen by the rapidly deteriorating Clod and sold to Vero, who decides that it would be fun to wear it to a party so the previous owners can see where it has landed. What a fun party.

Susanlynn: I gotta say I thought how fitting for Vero to wear that necklace...cuz like you say, it's been passed around about as much as she has....(Snicker, snicker...)

Excellent, Jardinera, thank you! “Bride of Chucky” was a wonderful comparison. Loved the Chucky movies.

Anytime there is any kind of disagreement, Andrea grabs her belly in distress, really?

Chole almost didn’t rent a room to old Claudio until the perpetually clueless JuanGa reminded her she still had one room left.

Fabulous!!! seeing Simba harassing Olga.

Diana, you made me laugh with “Clod is long past his expiration date.” You got that one right. Poor Tere having him living in the same building. Yuck!

Susanlynn, I would that Simba would rat Adrián out given enough $$$ or in a plea deal with the police.

“I would THINK that .. .” Now, that's better.

Jardinera. ..roflmao...I wish I had thought of they observation . Did you do a signature Samia fingersnap when it popped into your mind ?? It's finger popping time. As they used to say back in the day, Vero was the good time had by all .

Jarifa, it will be interesting to see how the evil finally unravels and who turns on whom .

Great stuff! "Maiden mechanic" is the perfect description of Valentina. She even looks like a lost princess adopted by peasants.

Deliberate irony about the ruby necklace worn by a wicked witch to tip off the wronged Queen.

Too many knaves in this tale.

To have Vulga and Sin-ba do each other in would be a good thing. She is a bit more intelligent than he is and has more to lose if he talks. I can see her getting into the hospital room to pull the plug on him or slip him some poison. But hospitals are also full of security cameras....

More later.

Thanks, Jardinera. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm jazzed to see it. Riveting recap. My fave:

Will somebody please put her back into her Bride of Chucky's toy box?

Yay, finally, stuff is piling up on Vulga!

Susanlynn: Definitely was on the same wavelength as Samia.

Niece: This is definitely "must see t.v." and an episodio worthy of the only 6 more to follow. I was literally popping my popcorn and enjoying the rewinds. LOL!

Urban: Yes! It was a perfectly written and played scene!! Now, I'd like to see Vulga overstep herself and have Sin-ba get caught and give it up to Chente right before he croaks. I want to see her embarrassed in front of the entire neighborhood over this lie. I hope the tn gods had enough sense to tie up every loose end that counts!! We need a list of what loose ends need to get tied by the end of this silly thing.

Ok, this is going to sound mean but Gustavo reminds of of Tuna the Chihuahua, once deemed Americans ugliest dog. I'll go to my room now.

Good one, Princess!

Gracias, Jardinera! Wow, this was quite an episode and your recap was quite a great recap! Lots of fun and zingers   :-)

But, "...it's been sunny and way too dry in SW FL this time of year." Too dry in Florida? When did this happen   :-)
Judy! Don't you go with her! That droopy peninsula could fall off and sink into the ocean any day now!   :-)

Oh, Diana! "There isn’t enough broken glass in the world that Tavo will need to crawl through in atonement for the scathing, disgusted up and down look he gave Chloe."
I absolutely cannot get over Tavo's stupid behavior; it makes PepePepe standing there with a pipe in his hands while HairBoy was lying bleeding in the street look intelligent.
Even if Tavo is so stupid as to believe Constanza, and never doubt that the baby is not his, he should at least talk to Chole. I think 99.999% of men would if they had known the woman as long and as well as Tavo has known Chole. We are not talking about someone of "questionable morals". This is ridiculous. And if Chole had gone elsewhere to get herself preggers, hardly believable, but if so she would never have lied about it.
This stuff annoys the daylights out of me, and I don't find it any kind of fun. Wildly unrealistic, and worse, how realistic and/or happy can the final outcome of this be? I always thought Chole and Tavo were "telenovela destined" for each other, but that well is truly poisoned now.

I have to double up on my blood pressure meds when I see stuff like this. I don't think I'm tough enough for most of these telenovelas. I'm going to stick with romcom types of telenovelas (I still need the Spanish and the eye candy), but this is too painful to watch.

Well, moving on to more important things, I saw in Natalia and Constanza's discussion outside after the party that Constanza's party dress had pockets. No pockets on Verónica's that I could see.

And I was cheered up by Chipmunk 1st Class Valentina and goofy Mario getting along and getting together.

Andy

Thanks, Jardinera, I enjoyed the recap. The last few episodes have been fast paced and we are beginning to see some eyes opened.

Loved Natalia slapping her sister. Hated seeing her house destroyed. I was sure she would start putting things together when Adrian said she couldn’t stay in her home because it was too dangerous.

Hope Olga has a sleepless night wondering what Simba is going to do.

Our good guys are kind of clueless. When will they have that “aha” moment!

Liz

Loose Ends as of 626/22

Samia:

--- Does she have her dinero separate from Elias'? If not she will be screwed when he falls.
--- Does she know that Elias still intends to take away Omar and Andrea's baby? Thus far she does not know what appears to be his latest plan to have Constanza raise this baby.

Elias:
--- Is he really enlisting Constanza in his nasty scheme or is he having her on? How long will it take before he sees her crazy?
--- Is there really $20MM that is rightfully Natalia's or did he create a phantom inheritance to use as bait to destroy Adrian? If it's real Natalia needs to get it back.
--- How much of Veronica's backstory does he know? Probably nothing but will he find out only when it's too late?

Adrian:
--- Does he know that Veronica killed Tania? Unlikely because he wasn't anywhere near the crime scene and I'm sure Veronica had acquired faked paperwork saying that Tania committed suicide.
--- Is he or isn't he the sperm donor for Vulga's hellspawn? How long after she did the nasty with Sin-ba did she boink Adrian? (It was ten episodes, so probably about a week.)
--- See third point under Elias.

Veronica:
--- Whom did she kill before this tale began?
--- Is she the reincarnation of Erzebet Báthory?

Teresa:
--- Will she file for divorce or will Claudio die first?

Mario:
--- Will he ever learn the truth about his sister's death?
--- Will he recover his fortune?
--- Will he end up with Valentina?

2x José:
--- Will he go back to that school? Can he even do that now?
--- Will he get Regina back?

JuanGa:
--- Who will he end up with? Kimberly looks underfed so she needs him.
--- Will he become a celebrity chef? He has the personality for it.

Andrea's Baby:
--- Who will rescue him from Constanza and Elias? My money is on Omar to show that he will be the father he never had.

I am guessing that Vicente will find the cell phone recording.

Finally, I hope that the writers didn't make Natalia pregnant in the finale. She should not have a baby younger than her own grandchild.

If I missed anything, please post it.

Urban, yes that was a great wrap up of everything that needs to be untangled.

Maybe Nat will get pregnant . My grandma was pregnant with my mother ( her last child) at the same time her oldest daughter was pregnant with her first child . My mother was close to her " nieces and nephews" who were all close in age to her ,and she considered them more like sisters and brothers ...my sister and I called them all " Aunt and Uncle "and their children were considered to be our cousinS be even though their parents were actually our first cousins! Confusing but we had a very close, loving extended family who got together often.

So....I think Ben would love a little brother or sister.

OT...Jardinera, are you watching " Amor Valiente" on Telemundo ? If so, I hope that you will join the Telemundo patio to comment . Does the guy playing Korhan look familiar to you ?

I think that both Sim-bad and Clod are being set up as guys who are loose cannons With hopeless futures who will do anything for money which makes them very dangerous . I am curious about how the writers have set up the crumbling of the evil Empire of Adrian\Vero\Elias. What will be the impetus that will Set their
destruction in motion ?

Stupid Chente believes Olga's spawn is his - but it isn't.
Stupid Tavo doesn't believe Chole's baby is his - but it is.
If it wasn't for little, adorable Benja I would SO want for both of these idiots to get what they deserve: Vicente stuck with Olga and Tavo glued to Constanza. Life sentences for both.

So many great comments...

Jarifa, I have to admit it was a bit gratifying to see Olga cower as Simba threatened her. She does not have a monopoly on threats and intimidation.

Urban, great questions. Claud will meet his maker. Just not soon enough. That oh so not romantic love scene has declared Vale and Mario will be together. I do think Adrian knows/suspects Vero killed Tania and I also think he is Olga's baby's father. Also, I think that Natalia having a baby is likely a sealed deal. As Susanlynn noted "I think Ben would love a little brother or sister"and I am sure she already is pregnant. Loved "Kimberly looks underfed so she needs him" (Juanga).

I thought the scene between Conz and Natalia was particularly painful and devastating. This is rift that can never be repaired. Nor should it.

"Even if Tavo is so stupid as to believe Constanza, and never doubt that the baby is not his, he should at least talk to Chole. I think 99.999% of men would if they had known the woman as long and as well as Tavo has known Chole. We are not talking about someone of "questionable morals". This is ridiculous". Andy, thank you for your wise summation of this pathetic situation. I am sadly resigned to their likely reconcilation. But for the record, I sure don't like it.

Diana

I'm not watching this show, but I catch the previews here and there and every time I do, Chente is always glaring at someone. LOL

Can’t wait until tomorrow night!!!!

I/T - Susanlynn— yes, Nikolai, may head and torso never meet again!—jardinera654

P.s, I am having withdrawal pains now that I am caught up—Jardinera654

Urban— excellent list of loose ends. I don’t want Nata pregnant because of harm to a baby born to a woman of that age increases exponentially. As for Vulga’s demon spawn, having either Simbad or Adrian as papi is a nonstarter for me so no to anyone adopting it if Simbad or Adi offs her. But of course then Chole would and would suffer through Hell all over again and this time for a lifetime!—Jardinera654

OT

For anyone who has Netflix and wants to see a good murder mystery from Spain: “The Invisible Guardian.” It is the first movie in a trilogy.

I continue to disagree on the idea of Natalia getting pregnant. She has gone on for 20+ years wanting to be herself, make money, and be something other than a SAHM. If she's also pregnant there will be pressure to go back to Square One with or without the (theoretical) inheritance. Benjamin will be a very young Tio to Andrea's and Omar's baby and I doubt they will be far from each other.

Tavo and Chole will likely reconcile, which bugs me because there should be no coming back from the insults he threw at her. He knows her long enough to know the sort of person she is.

Claudio is definitely a liver disease candidate.

Adrian does think he is the sperm donor but only because he doesn't know that Vulga did it with Sin-ba.

Uban, I TA—Jardinera654
