Mujer de Nadie (Nobody’s Woman)– PRODUCED BY GISELLE GONZALEZ
Coming “Muy Pronto!”
Mujer de Nadie is a
melodrama based on the telenovela Amarte Es Mi Pecado created
by Liliana Abud. Leading the cast will be Livia Brito and Marcus Ornellas (Si
Nos Dejan) as protagonists.
This melodrama centers around Lucía Arizmendi
(Livia), a young beautiful woman who lives in Cholula with her father, Jacobo
(Marco Treviño) and stepmother, Isaura (Cynthia Klitbo), an ambitious and cruel
woman. Lucía’s passion is making talavera; she is in love with Alfredo (Arap
Bethke, whom we saw in La Usurpadora) but he is cruel and
unscrupulous…and only wants to take advantage of her innocence and purity.
After Jacobo suffers a heart attack, Alfredo and Isaura plan to offer Lucía to
Heriberto, the richest and most powerful man in town, who has been lusting
after Lucía. While trying to escape from Heriberto, Lucía meets and falls in
love with Fernando Ortega (Marcus), an honest man whose life changes when he
meets Lucía; he is a businessman who has a small transportation company…and he
will make sure Lucía will never again feel like the Mujer de Nadie! After
Lucía is evicted from her home as a result of Heriberto’s orders, she goes to
live with her aunt/mother’s sister, Alejandra (Azela Robinson). Living with
Alejandra is her goddaughter, Casilda (María Panella, whom we saw in ¿Te
Acuerdas de Mi?). Roxana (Carmen Aub) will be the antagonist who
will go to all means to keep Lucía and Fernando apart.
Others joining the cast are Veronica Merchant,
Plutarco Haza, Veronica Langer, Alexa Martin and Rosa María Bianchi.
Labels: embajador, guero, primetime, rey, unimas, Univision
RGV Chick: Looking forward to seeing Carmen Aub as an evil Antagonist.

Revelaciones
Part 1 of 2
1971: The accident happened at the same time as Alejandro was born. Refugio hissed her new son, declaring him beautiful. Vicente regained consciousness, but it looked like he had a head injury.
Refugio talked to her new son about his father, then began singing to him. Gloria entered the room with a camera and Alejandro's two older brothers. Refugio asked about Vicente and Gloria said he had left a message earlier. She then took another picture.
Vicente, Felipe, and Federico got out of the car and probably hitchhiked to the hospital. They went looking for Refugio's room, but she found them first and told them the good news. Vicente was pleased with the name she chose, saying that this was an artistic name and he would make a great mariachi out of him. And that he would make sure that he was never alone.
2020: Refugio came in and told Don Vicente that the TV news was saying bad things about the family, especially that V.Jr was paranoid and violent. Dalia checked this on her phone. Don Vicente wanted to end the interview, saying that journalists are all demons and vampires. He told her she was to leave immediately with her crew and destroy any recordings made during their conversations. When he left the room she told her crew they were doing no such thing.
1971: Refugio showed Vicente how to change a diaper and the conversation turned to his upcoming television appearances. Refugio did not like that he was appearing with female singers. [Actual archival footage was shown going through his mind, featuring a female host who spoke of him as single.] Refugio felt alone. He was willing to put up with this to make the dinero so he could eventually buy the property he wanted for the ranch he wanted for his family. Felipe and Federico arrived to tell him that Don Gilberto wanted him to sign for a movie.
2020: Don Vicente chewed out V.Jr over his behaviour of the previous night.
Dalia called Alejandro to meet with him. She went to his place and they joked about the demons and vampires image. She told him what happened at his parents' place and that all she wanted was the truth.
Don Vicente asked V.Jr why he continued to hurt him and the family. Refugio tried to get him to stop because V.Jr was also getting more and more distant from his children.
Dalia told Alejandro his family had to face truths and deal with them. He told her he would not betray his family.
V.Jr told his father he felt like he was always in the way. Don Vicente had calmed down and talked about protecting the family. Refugio told V.Jr that she felt dwarfed by V.Sr's fame. Despite that she had always tried to be a good mother.
1972, Mexico City: Vicente flirted with the makeup artist who was working on him; he was still not crazy about being made up for the camera. Don Gilberto talked to him about the importance of film to his career. He thought back to his family.

Part 2 of 2
2020: Alejandro said it was difficult to talk about the past; that he tried to live in the present. He did not consider himself to be an heir to a dynasty because he was making his own way in his career and his life. He had a flashback to his childhood when his father began teaching him how to sing. Dalia asked about whether he felt like he was in his father's shadow. He asked her what she was looking for. “Revenge?” he asked. “Justice” was her answer.
1972: An actress walked off the set during shooting, complaining that Vicente couldn't act. Chicotita (previously referred to as Side Chick) entered and started helping him with this issue. The director was then feeling better about it.
Their affair was still on until she asked when he was getting a divorce so they could be married. He told her that this would be difficult. She did not want to be the plato de segunda mesa and then it ended.
2020: Alejandro said while he made a lot of mistakes he always loved his romantic partners. He was now enjoying his career and his life. Dalia asked about his childhood.
1976, Guadalajara: Vicente came home and was mobbed by his boys and he said it was mostly good.
1973: Vicente was mobbed on the street by female fans and he was eating it up. Felipe then brought the news of Chicotita's death. He handed him the newspaper with the article about it. Vicente was stunned and started to cry.
My apologies for the lateness but the episode did not play back on Univision's website and I didn't want to keep you waiting too long.
Excellent job of what seems to be a dark and brooding plot Urban.
"She did not want to be the plato de segunda mesa and then it ended". Sigh.

Yahya comes home and tells Dudu that Ahmet’s phone is off, he’s not where Dudu said, and no one has seen him since yesterday. Dudu says the bastard probably left after taking care of business. For your own good, I hope so, Yahya replies. This is issue is clearly not settled. Dudu realizes Yahya still has some doubts. You’re never going to believe me like you believed her, she says. Yahya has a puzzled look. Elvan, Dudu clarifies. She raises her voice. You won’t believe me, none of you will believe. You act like this because I went to university and I can maintain myself by my own means! I’m the only one in your life who has always told you the truth! Dudu leaves the room.
Melek asks Mavi for more to eat. Mavi says it’s late and she will make more tomorrow. Don’t forget, Melek replies. She won’t. It’s bedtime for Melek but Sancar tells her that Kavruk forgot to bring her book. Mavi says wait. She goes to her room and comes back with a children’s book. Why do you have a children’s book here, Melek asks. Sancar steps in and says it’s because she knew you were coming.
Sancar says let’s go and Melek asks if they can both come. Read me the book together. Sancar looks concerned for Mavi. He tells Melek that Mavi must be very tired. Mavi says that’s not so and she’d love to do it and challenges Melek to a race to the bedroom. They run off.
A very pleasantly surprised Sancar watches them go and says, [Turkish] my beauties… Allah’a çok şükür. Melek calls for her dad and tells him he lost the race. That’s not possible! Sancar Efe never loses, he exclaims. He runs into the bedroom and flops onto the bed.
A nervous Elvan waits for a return message from Bora. She wrote him: [Turkish] “it was a very unusual evening, thank you. My drinking has become a big event at the house, but let it be. I finally saw the sunset. Are you okay?” Gulsiye asks, no message yet? Ticked Elvan signals no. It’s late, he must be asleep, Gulsiye reasons, he didn’t see your message. Elvan says Bora’s is not asleep. She shows Gulsiye that he has been posting other things online.
Gulsiye asks if maybe there was a misunderstanding. You sat and drank but you also said you kissed… Elvan freaks and gives Gulsiye a shove, quiet… don’t shout so that Halise will hear. It was stupid to tell you anything. I wrote him a message, are you happy? I’m not. He didn’t even read it. I can’t believe it… watch your words. Better you stay quiet. Elvan grabs her phone and leaves the kitchen. Gulsiye says, maybe you came across one as bad as the previous one?
Melek is asleep and Sancar and Mavi cuddle up on the couch. Mavi puts some music on her phone. Sancar turns to check if Melek is really in her room. Mavi… Sancar says, have I told you that you give me peace? You are the only person with whom I can share the silence, she replies.
Song: Dünyadan Uzak/ Far from the World

video has English lyrics
We see Bora at his campsite. He picks up Elvan’s blanket and gives it a few big sniffs. He picks up his phone and starts to compose a message: “Elvan, tonight…” then he erases it and puts his phone down. Cut to Elvan in bed wide awake and on her phone again. She sends Bora a message: “iyi geceler” good night. Bora reads it.
Elvan starts reading the book Bora gave her. [Turkish] “The unhappy will never admit they are unhappy. They don’t even see it. Their laughter is so much fun that those around them consider them happy. Because the uhappy can hide their feelings under the joy, they are the lonliest in the world.” Elvan looks at her phone, still no reply from Bora.
They cut the rest of the song. Dudu cries alone in bed. Yahya settles in on the couch downstairs. And Sancar and Mavi are lying on the couch, facing each other, smiling peacefully, with hands clasped together.
Guven reads the riot act to his incompetent staff. You couldn’t find a little girl? She disappeared from the the face of the Earth? Did you find Sancar after he laughed at us last night? No. And where is that woman, Mavi? You’re useless! Don’t come back without finding some clues.
The maid comes in and hands Guven a phone. Someone named Selim is calling him. “Sir, Sancar Efeoglu and his lawyer are plotting something. Guven remembers what his guy overheard about “Selim”. Selim asks, do you know who I am? Yes. Sancar Efe sent me to Montenegro to find your driver who can testify about your business. I found your man. What do you want, Guven asks? A million dollars, Selim replies. Guven agrees to transfer half to Selim’s account immediately. He will transfer the other half when the driver is delivered.
Sancar calls Faruk for any news from Selim. Nothing yet. Sancar says they have to end this today. I need custody of my daughter, understand? She can’t go back to that man’s house. Sancar hangs up and hears Mavi crying in her sleep. He wakes her and she cries on his shoulder. I always have the same nightmare, she tells him. I close my eyes and see the accident. It feels so real. I feel like it happened yesterday, she sobs.
Flashback to the day of the accident. She’s chasing Sedat’s car. Ekim calls out, mom I love you very much. Please don’t leave me. Mavi assures her daughter she won’t leave her. Then we see the crash. Mavi gets out of her car and runs to the scene calling for her daughter. We see that Ekim has been thrown from the car. Mavi runs to her and tries to wake her. Mavi shouts, Ekim… no! She holds her daughter and wails, open your eyes! Wake up!
Sancar holds Mavi. Do you want water, he asks? No, don’t go, she says, stay here. Are you okay, he asks? She shakes her head and answers, no. She starts crying again. That second, one second, if I hadn’t followed them… [Turkish] It wasn’t your fault, Sancar says, it was fate. No one has the strength to change fate. I could have stopped, Mavi answers. No one has that kind of power, Sancar replies, it’s not in our hands.
Mavi can’t help but think if her daughter were here, she would also be sleeping in there. I wish she could hear the sound of the sea. Me too, Sancar says, I wish she was here. I would have liked to meet her. Did Ekim like the sea, Sancar asks? A lot, Mavi replies. We used to take sailing classes. Did you go to Kos for Ekim, he asks? Mavi nods yes. Our last vacations were there. Sancar asks about Mavi’s husband. Did he die in the accident, too? He wasn’t my husband, Mavi answers, we were divorced. Is he buried with your daughter in Istanbul, Sancar asks? Mavi just stares at Sancar, then she jumps up.
Sancar apologizes for asking so many insensitive questions. We’ll leave the past behind, he tells her. Better to think of the memories we have. We made our own memories. Like, you kidnapped my daughter. That’s a good story. They laugh. It feels good to be able to talk to you about whatever and sharing it all, she tells Sancar, it’s the first time I’ve felt this way. [Turkish] Really, Sancar asks? I thought I was the only one who felt that way. Yay! Kisses! Then they remember Melek. I think she’s still asleep, Sancar says with a smile. But in the Turkish, you hear a door close, so I don’t know…
Melek sits on her bed. She touches her shirt and gives herself a hug. She picks up her book, “Tales of the Four Seasons”, and holds it close.
Dudu comes downstairs. Yahya is dressed and ready to go. Why didn’t you wake me, she asks. He walks away from her. She stops him. Do you realize how you make me feel? Why don’t you want to sleep with me? I cried all night and you didn’t care. I’m pregnant with your son, don’t do this to me. Then don’t do this, he tells her. You do things that make me feel bad. I have doubts all the time. I can’t trust you. Do you think it’s easy to live like this?
Before he goes he tells Dudu, yesterday you said I would have believed Elvan. And Yes I would have, because she never did anything for me to distrust her. [Turkish] she never upset me like this. She didn’t put a fire into my soul, either in bad times or in good. You kindled this fire in me, Dudu. I’m a jealous person and you test me. We will be parents soon. Don’t throw us into a pit! I’m warning you for the last time! He leaves.
Dudu gets a message from Ahmet: “I loved you too much, but you ruined my pride and my manhood. You completely ruined me. But this isn’t over. Fear me, because I’m going to continue to follow you and I will act. “ [How hard did you laugh when Dudu flushed her phone down the toilet?] She gets hysterical.
Sancar has made a pan of eggs and sucuk. One, two, three, they dig in. Melek asks if it’s over now. Am I going to have to go back to my grandfather? No, he answers, you won’t. You’re going to stay here. I’m going to make the effort. With any luck, we will get it (custody). He tells Mavi to go to work today so she won’t call any attention. I’m sure Guven has men following us, Sancar says. Mavi agrees but asks how can we leave Melek alone? Melek says not to worry, she’ll be fine. It’s only for a while, Sancar says, there will be a lot of my men here.
Melek is good with it. She reminds Mavi how they evaded the police yesterday. Mavi smiles but adds that what they did wasn’t correct. Melek nods. Melek says she wants to cook something for them when “they” return. Sancar likes that. Mavi says maybe Melek can do a drawing.
Sancar gets a call that wipes the smile off his face. He gets up, I have to go, sorry, I have to go. He gives Melek a kiss goodbye and without thinking, Mavi and Sancar go to hug (or maybe a kiss, too?). Oops, Melek is watching. And it’s just a “see ya later”.
Sancar cautiously walks off the property and meets with Kavruk and Faruk. They’re going to visit Guven. Is everything okay, Kavruk asks? Sancar smiles, it’s good, very good. They make each other feel good. Thank God, Kavruk replies, how nice it is to hear it.
Sancar shares that Mavi was feeling bad this morning and she told him about the accident in which her daughter and her ex died. He died too, Kavruk asks? Yes, I think so, Sancar replies, they had been divorced before the accident. Who knows how that guy treated her. I’m sure it was bad if Mavi didn’t want him, Kavruk says. She said he was like Guven, Sancar relates, he was a psycho. God forgive us, Sancar adds, let’s not speak of the dead. Kavruk says he can have the ex checked out. Sancar thinks about it but decides against it saying, I’m a jealous person. They drive off.
Muge is with Guven again! [Did she really move out of that house?] I bought this house for Melek, he says, I could have lived in the hotel alone. This house is so quiet without her. Don’t be sad, the world’s worst psychologist says. Melek is very intelligent. I’m sure she is okay. I’m sure she’s hiding some place. Maybe she just wants to give you and her father a good lesson. I know you will find her safe. [good grief, this woman is so stupid]
I’m sad that the party ended so suddenly, Guven whines. She was happy here. I don’t think she would have run away on her own. [good grief, this man is delusional] Do you think Melek is with Mavi, Muge asks? Guven says he learned a lot of things over the years. Why isn’t Sancar here? it’s because he knows where Melek is. You know Sancar better than I do. If he didn’t know where to find Melek, wouldn’t he be here now making my life miserable?
Muge recaps, so you are saying that Sancar and Mavi know where Melek is? Not only with me, Guven says, with you, too. Aren’t you worried he’s not answering calls or he’s not calling you? If what you are saying is true, Muge replies, Sancar could lose Melek forever. I hope that’s not true, because I will be very upset with Sancar, too. It’s not fair to make Melek go through something like this.
Guven tells Muge she has a good heart. They are hiding Melek from me. They don’t want me to see my granddaughter. They don’t want her to have a good education and a good future. Muge says not to jump to conclusions. Muge leaves the room to take a call. The doorbell rings.
The maid announces that Sancar and his lawyer (and Kavruk) have come. I came with witnesses because I don’t trust you, Sancar says. Your cameras don’t work but you know I don’t believe anything. What do you want, Guven asks? I’ve come to see your expression when you see I realized what you are planning. Don’t provoke me. I will get custody of my daughter.
Sancar receives a call. What happened? Do you have the man? Sancar is shocked. What? How did he not get on the plane? Sancar is angry. Faruk makes a call and Selim is not answering his phone. Smug Guven asks what happened. Why the face? I’m not finished with you, Sancar warns and they leave.
Guven makes a call. [Turkish] Listen, after you bring Kerem (the driver) to me, you better not stick around because if Sancar finds you, he’ll drown you in a spoonful of water. Selim says he can’t do anything to me. He doesn’t know we landed in Dalaman. Selim asks Guven if he’s prepared the money. Kerem asks, is this Sancar Bey? Kerem speaks up, he wants money. If there’s no money, he won’t say a word.
Guven tells Selim he’s sending the location of a gas station. Stop there and my men will take care of the rest and you will have your money. Guven has to hang up because Muge returns. Was Sancar here? I thought I heard him shouting as usual. Yes, he came and left, Guven smiles. He realizes he can’t fool around with me.
Melek is in Mavi’s room watching her get ready. Mavi tells Melek she can open her jewelry box. Melek picks out a bunch of rings for Mavi to wear. Melek picks out a red lipstick and says, you looked very beautiful last night, put this on. Mavi picks out a different color. Why can’t I use this? Melek likes the red one better. Mavi doesn’t want such a bright color. Is it because your daughter died, Melek asks? I heard what you were talking about. Mavi is surprised but makes a quick recovery. I was going to tell you, but I couldn’t find the right moment. Your eyes look very sad, Melek says, do they always look like that because your daughter is not here? Melek puts her hand on Mavi’s face.
Mavi changes the subject. I’ll make you a sandwich like last night and there’s also cake. Mavi is also leaving her telephone number and the café number. Melek hugs Mavi and apologizes. If you had told me your daughter died and became an angel, then I would never have been angry with you and treated you badly. Mavi says it’s alright, you didn’t treat me badly. Melek feels guilty. Don’t feel that way, Mavi replies, we’re friends, yes or no?
Melek shakes her head no. I know you can’t love me like a daughter and I can’t love you like a mother. But if you want, one day, I could be your daughter. Mavi pulls Melek into a hug. You are so sweet, Melek. Thank you.
Dudu makes a desperate call to Ela. You don’t understand what’s happening! He threatened me! Yahya doesn’t trust me. If he finds out the lies about my past, I’m ruined. He will take the child and throw me out on the street! I can’t live without them! There’s a knock at the door and Dudu hangs up.
It’s Halise. I know very well that this baby is not Yahya’s, she says, and I believe you know this, too. I fixed that other hospital for you and sent that man, Ahmet, back to his town. But we did the test together, Dudu says. Like I said, Halise tells her, I took care of it. But if you make another mistake, we are not going to have this conversation again. I hope that you become a woman and mother worthy of my son.
Halise is ready to leave but Dudu grabs her hand. Señora, I swear I love Yahya with all my heart, you have no idea. And I know I made some small mistakes, but I swear I’ll fix everything. I promise. Believe me. Just give me an opportunity to be a mother and a wife to Yahya. I will treat you as if you are my own mother. I give you my word, Dudu begs.
Halise pulls her hand away. She tells Dudu to call Yahya and tell him to come. Dudu is relieved. Halise takes off her coat and sits.
And we are out.
Sin Control
1973, Mexico City: Vicente felt guilty for Chicotita's death, which had been the result of an accident. He recalled a past encounter when they were making out on a rooftop and he declared he loved her.
When he came out of the men's room Don Gilberto was waiting. He handed a suit to Vicente with a mini lecture in the vein of “the show must go on.” The occasion was to honor José Alfredo Jimenez.
2020: Alejandro talked about how Vicente was a perfectionist in instructing him. The night his life changed forever was when he was television with his dad [Actual footage shown here]. He showed precocious showmanship. He did come to enjoy performing. He then recalled an experience in Las Vegas when he was inhaling tequila with some Formula One drivers and models. He did rebel, but was not an activist. He was also a little wild, but didn't care what anyone else thought.
1973: Vicente was waiting in the wings to appear on “Siempre en Domingo” while India Maria was performing. He was ill at ease, knowing that José Alfredo Jimenez would be next on stage, singing one of his compositions. His wife (Alicia) was in the audience. Afterward he addressed the audience saying that he has always valued applause over money. The host then announced Vicente, who entered, said some polite words, and then sang “El Rey.”
In Guadalajara, this is where Refugio stopped ironing and turned off the television set. When Gloria asked why she did this she said she was tired of seeing Vicente singing for other women. V.Jr asked if his father no longer loved her. Refugio answered she didn't think she loved him anymore.
When Vicente finished the song he presented the trophy to Jimenez who was swallowing major pride because his wife was one of Vicente's conquests.
On the way out Vicente expressed being honored to sing for him and Jimenez told him he sings for his public and for all of Mexico. He was to respect his competition. They parted amicably.
Federico had his eye on Alicia.
Don Gilberto told Vicente that Jimenez was dying. Vicente began thinking he was cursed. He called Refugio to talk about this and she got sarcastic with him. She even hung up on him.
2020: Dalia would not be run off the property. She wanted to hear about all the key women in his life: Paula, Refugio, Alicia, Chicotita (real name was Isabel), Alejandra, Patricia, and “your victim” Lupita. This really annoyed him.
1973: A bloody sheet and white noise on a television screen... This was likely a hotel room. In the elevator Vicente took Lupita's hand and told her that all would be well.
2020: Vicente caved and said he would talk.
1973, Guadalajara: V.Jr and Gerardo started fighting over toys just as Vicente came home. He actually suggested that they have another baby, as they did not have a daughter. She was not so eager, as her pregnancies have been high risk.
Actual footage of an interview where he said that he and his wife would have liked to have a daughter. At the same time V.Jr was being bullied by classmates, culminating with one of them hitting him in the eyes with a soccer ball. As Refugio tended to this Gerardo told his brother to hit back. Refugio did not like that, saying she disapproved of violence.
1999, Guadalajara: Gerardo and V.Jr rank and smoked on the terrace. Alejandro told Gerardo to stay away from his career and income. He was sure that Gerardo embezzled money from their father.
1973: Gerardo was getting out of line as his father came home. Vicente said that they boys were tired of being cooped up and suggested they all go to the movies.
1999: Alejandro demanded to know what Gerardo wanted. They argued about Gerardo's desire for control.
1973: They went to the movies, to Vicente's first film. He was seated between Refugio and her best friend, Gloria. He looked like he was trying to grope her.
Since Univision is back to falling behind on providing this series On Demand the recaps will lack my usual level of detail and have only about half of the nuance. We just passed the halfway mark.
Jose Alfredo Jimenez is the composer of "El Rey" and many more songs. He died in November 1973 at the obscenely young age of 47. I think his son is playing him in this series.
Thanks, Dondi, it’s always good to read things I didn’t get while watching. Loved Dudu telling Yaya she’s been the only one that always told him the truth. That’s a bit of a stretch! I wonder why Halise wants Yaya to come home. What does she plan on saying. I’m glad she told Dudu the truth about the DNA but I’m sure she won’t tell Yaya. And why isn’t she worried about her granddaughter!
Muge just believes everything Guven says. She should be able to “read” people better than she does.
Malek is all alone in the house. I know there’s guards outside but it doesn’t seem very wise. And how are they going to get away with taking her. Mavi is guilty of that but Sancar is going along with it. I wonder if they plan on keeping her hidden till he gets custody. Which is looking doubtful right now.
Liz
Dondi, thank you for capturing every detail of the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The scenes of Mavi and Melek beginning to bond are poignant and heartwarming . A mother who bas lost her daughter and a daughter who has lost her mother. I know that little girls love to look at thrir mothers' jewelry and makeup. You can see the love that is starting to grow between these two hurt souls. I think they will heal each other and together heal Sancar.
I know that the path to HEA will be filled with obstacles , but at least, the oppression mood of th first two seasons has lifted.
What is up with Muge becoming Guven's bff? Why?
There was a promo for La herencia last night so that is coming muy pronto as well. What it will replace TBD.
Diana
Thank you Dondi for another wonderful recap! I have given up for the moment on the idea of catching up on viewing the episodes - too much going on here. But I will keep caught up by recaps and catch up on viewing eventually.
I love this line: 'he’ll drown you in a spoonful of water.' I would actually like to see him try that! Lol
Mavi and Melek bonding is heartwarming! Melek could use some happiness and like Susan Lynn said it will be nice to see some of the oppression from previous seasons lift. I am surprised they left Melek alone and not with Kavruk but I guess someone might follow Kavruk. I swear everyone follows everyone around here. How do they not notice 6 men (sent to follow by various friends/enemies and probably some just following the man following) them wherever they go??
I am surprised Bora isn't Jonny-on-the-spot in replying to texts, he's seemed so eager in every other interaction!! Lol don't try to be cool now buddy!
I am so glad my mother is not like Halise!!
Darcy, ha...yes, we are all grateful that Ha!ise isn't our mother . Perhaps the purpose of these novelas is to make us give thanks that none of these evildoers are in our own orbits. Also, this fictional evil can distract a bit from the real evil Reported on the news every day.
Liz, I , too, was surprised that San decided Model would be okay alone with his guards.
I don't know what will happen next. I hope that Mavi taking Memes does not grant custody to weirdo Guv.
Susanlynn, 'La Herencia' is an adaptation of 'Los Herederos Del Monte'. It's about 6 brothers who learn after their father's death that he had a daughter and she is given part of the inheritance. Lots of infighting happens for all the obvious reasons: jealousy, greed, attraction (the brothers are adopted the girl is bio), etc. I saw Herederos, I liked it. This one looks interesting, more modern. The guy who played Caesar in Desmalda is in La Herencia
Susanlynn, Darcy gave a better descripiton of La Herencia than I could have (thanks Darcy).
It stars Michelle Renaud; Emmanuel Palomares (Vencer el miedo and vencer el desamor); Mauricio Henao (Marcos in Medicos); Juan Pablo Gil(si nos dejan) Matías Novoa (vencer el pasado) and a host of other great actors including Juan Carlos Barreto and Verónica Jaspeado.
It looks really good.
Diana
After all of these years seeing Andrade as a cold-hearted villain, who would've guessed she was such a good comic actress?
Darcy, I haven't been watching SOS in the afternoon, but I saw a few minutes today , and Mauricio Cordoba looked muy guaypo with his salt and pepper hair.
Judy....hello hello ...sending you love and prayers.
"They went to the movies, to Vicente's first film. He was seated between Refugio and her best friend, Gloria. He looked like he was trying to grope her".
Good heavens Urban. Vincente seems monstrous.
Excellent recap.

Diana, Darcy, Weirdo, RGV Chick, Susanlynn, SpanProf & Co.,: Looks like it will debut on June 28th at 9:00 PM CST.

I have been watching a very little of this (while it records in case I want to seriously watch it). I have been enjoying the bits I have seen, and get the idea, but I realized that I only knew the names of two characters, Chabela and Tyler.
Wikipedia let me know that Itatí Cantoral plays Andrea, and I think I can learn a few more and then I should be good.
This looks to be a telenovela that can be watched without paying a lot of attention or getting upset much or often. Works for me.
Until it doesn't :-)
Andy
I'm glad this is starting soon, I actually checked a couple of episodes and it's soooo silly... I LOVE IT!
You have the five ridiculously handsome men adopted by the guy who somehow didn't get to raise his only bio child - a daughter. Said daughter is raised by her mom (Elizabeth Alvarez, who steals every scene she's in), who's a scheming gold digger.
Susanlynn, there will be plenty of avocado scenes, including a most ridiculous one in the first episode. The protas seem to have nice chemistry, I don't remember seing Matias Novoa as a lead before, so that is a nice change. There are also other colorful characters completing the picture, like Julian Gil in a role I've bever seen him play before, Daniel Elbitar as one of the brothers and the main villain (I think) and many other well known faces.
I know I said I'm interested in recapping Mujer de Nadie, but now I'm torn...
Bora walks up behind Elvan as she opens the store and says hello. She’s startled and rips into him. You don’t scare me! You said hello, now leave! Go to work! Bora is at a loss. He walks away. But as he walks away, Elvan watches him from inside the store.
Elvan takes out her phone and the book that Bora gave her. She calls Gulsiye, who asks, did you see him? Is he sorry? Elvan sarcastically answers, yes, you should see how sorry he is, you wouldn’t believe it. He got on his knees and begged me. Gulsiye doesn’t pick up on it. Good, she replies, he’s an intelligent man. Yes, he’s intelligent, Elvan responds, but you’re not. That idiot came to my store and all he said to me was hello. And I thought he considered me valuable. But I was just one more conquest for Baristan Bey.
Gulsiye tells her it’s okay, nothing happened. A couple of days ago, he was nothing. Elvan thinks Gulsiye is right, what does it matter. There was no one yesterday, now there’s no one today. He’s the same as the rest. I learned my lesson. Elvan hangs up. She picks up the book and flips through it. She looks so disappointed.
Bora is doing some thinking at the café. [Let’s hope he comes to his senses] He looks at the Word of the Day chalk board and writes: the more you fear, the more you will be tested. The more you run away, the more you will be caught.
Kerem the driver, is complaining to Selim about Guven. [Turkish] I worked for him for many years and he didn’t appreciate me. But now he’s going to. They say he took Akin Bey’s inheritance for himself. Maybe it would be more profitable to call Guven Bey. What do you think? If Sancar Bey doesn’t pay me the mentioned amount, I won’t hesitate. Selim says, don’t worry, you’ll get what you deserve very soon. [maybe Kerem should worry] We have to stop at this gas station first.
Kerem questions why they are stopping. He watches as Selim gets out of the car and heads to a van. A man gives Selim a briefcase full of one hundred dollar bills. Kerem is alarmed and gets out of the car. What’s happening, he asks, who are these men? I said you would get what you deserved, Selim answers, and I didn’t lie. These men are going to bring you to Guven so you will get what you deserve. The men grab Kerem and stuff him in the van. Guven gets the call that they have the driver.
Bora serves some female customers and Elvan shows up. She listens as the women gush their appreciation for Bora and his café. Bora turns and spots Elvan. I didn’t expect you to come to the café today. Why don’t you take a seat? No thanks, she replies, I don’t want to. [does Elvan look jealous to you?] I brought your book back. You read it, Bora asks, did you like it? I told you I didn’t have the time to read nonsense, she fires back. Maybe you can give it to someone else to read. Bora’s puzzled.
The ladies at the table ask Bora if they can all take a picture together. One of them has 25,000 followers on IG and she wants to share. It will be a good advertising. Bora agrees. He tells Elvan to wait and he takes the woman’s phone. He says he will take a pic of the ladies because he’s not so photogenic. Bora has them pose and they smile big. Elvan is ticked. Bora tells them to pick up their coffee cups.
Elvan’s had enough and stomps off. Bora calls after her but she’s gone. It looks like he’s going after her, but the ladies call him back. They want him in the picture, after all, he’s the owner of the café. So Bora takes a selfie with the ladies. That’s done and Bora peeks around the corner to see Elvan briskly walking back to her shop.
Dudu and Halise wait for Yahya. Yahya arrives and is happy to see his mom. He goes to kiss her hand and gets a cachetada instead. Dudu’s hands go to her mouth in shock. Why did you do this, Yahya asks? You deserve much more than this, Halise replies, my grandson’s mother called me. You’ve upset a pregnant woman. Listen to me, this isn’t going to happen again. Yahya looks over at Dudu. Look at me, Halise orders, I’m serious. Be careful. When your brother gets Melek back, then we will have a wedding and be done with it. I’ll talk to Sancar and Elvan to work it out.
Yahya glares at Dudu. Halise continues, after the wedding, I want Dudu to live in the mansion. From now on, I want her close and you can’t change that. Yahya nods. Halise gathers her stuff and goes. Yahya keeps glaring. Dudu tries to approach him and he sullenly sits on the couch.
Meanwhile Guven has placed Kerem in a pit with water and a cement truck ready to dump it’s load on him. Kerem begs for forgiveness. You worked with me for years and you learned nothing, Guven says. No one sells me out or they die. Kerem tries to make a case. I swear, I wasn’t selling you out. You have to believe me. Then tell me why you came to Bodrum, Guven asks. Sancar’s man forced me to come, Kerem replies, I was going to warn you but you took me before I had the opportunity. I swear I was going to tell you.
You see, Guven says to his men, he came to help me, not to sell me out. That’s right, Kerem says. Please forgive me and get me out of here. Guven stops Kerem. Guven tells his man to buy him a plane ticket and give him some money. Let him go far away. Kerem is grateful. You won’t regret this he tells Guven. Guven starts to walk away and Kerem continues to babble his thanks. Guven turns back and tells Kerem, I realized something, I don’t believe you. I lost confidence in you. Guven gives the signal to start the concrete.
Kerem starts begging for his life and, suddenly, Sancar and Kavruk show up! Some of the men rush to meet them and others stay with Guven. Kerem shouts for help. It’s four of Guven’s thugs against Sancar and Kavruk. Kavruk tells his Efe that he can take the guy on the right, the rest of them are for him. Sancar shoots Kavruk a look. [Turkish] Why do you look at me like that, Kavruk asks? Am I the Efe? I can’t handle such a bunch, only you can. Okay then, Efe answers, I’ll do it. Let’s start.
The fighting begins. Sancar Efe does not disappoint. He takes on the three and Kavruk holds his own against the one. Guven decides it is time for him to make a quick getaway. Meanwhile, the cement keeps pouring into the pit. Last guy standing pulls a knife and Sancar is able to knock him out just as Nedim arrives with reinforcements. Kerem is extracted from the pit.
I have to admit, Kavruk says, for a moment I thought we wouldn’t succeed. But I still don’t understand. If this guy was going to testify against Guven, why did you set this up?
We get a flashback. Faruk calls Sancar. I went to the office as you asked. But Selim called and said there was a problem. We don’t hear what else Faruk says, but Sancar is stunned. Sancar tells Faruk, Selim is going to sell us out. No, Faruk replies, I’ve known him for years. He’s not capable of that. The problem is Guven’s driver. He’s not trustworthy. Selim thinks he will testify for whoever pays most and he knows that Guven has more money than us. You didn’t understand, Sancar tells Faruk, I’m not afraid of Selim selling us out… I want Selim to sell us out. Tell Selim to contact Guven and scare him with Kerem. End flashback.
Sancar smiles at Kavruk, who laughs. This is a day for celebration! You’re brilliant! Helal olsun, Efe! They turn to look at Kerem who is wearing cement pants. He’s vowing to get his revenge against Guven. Sancar walks over to Kerem and tells him, if you want revenge, I know how to do it and I can help you.
Cut to Kerem speaking with the social worker. He tells the story of how Sancar paid Guven’s gambling debt in return for Melek. Kerem even has pics his phone of Guven gambling. He adds, [Turkish] and due to his addiction he gave his own daughter into the hands of a psychopath. The social worker nods as she scrolls through the pics.
Melek has made something for Mavi and gives her a clue where to find it. The kitchen! Mavi comes back with a plate that has a smiley face made of fruit. Yep, they’re bonding nicely. There’s a knock at the door and Mavi tells Melek to hide.
It’s Sancar and he’s got a big smile on his face. Did anyone follow you here, she asks? There were two guys following me from the café. I barely lost them. Melek comes out of hiding and greets her dad. He gives her a big hug. It’s over, we have custody, it’s over! Hugs and kisses. Sancar explains to Melek that he has to take her to the police station. You have to tell them you were lost and I’ll come to get you later.
Melek says this place is nice, I want to stay here, and she hugs Mavi. Don’t let them take me. I don’t want you to leave either, Mavi replies, but everyone is worried about you and they miss you a lot. Spend a few days at the mansion, you know we have plans, and we can do them all. Okay? What plans, Sancar asks? Melek says there are play groups and Mavi and I decided to join. Mothers and children go to these groups and find friends. Sancar doesn’t know what to say. Mavi sends Melek off to get ready to go.
Sancar takes Mavi’s hand and kisses it. You became my breath… and my daughter’s life. It’s reciprocal, she replies, you two have become my hope. He gives her another kiss on the hand. Melek comes back into the room. Sancar lifts her up into his arms. More hugs and kisses.
Sancar’s truck pulls up to the mansion. There are people and music outside. The ladies of the mansion are there to welcome Melek back home. Look dad, Melek says, there’s dessert! That’s not dessert, Sancar explains, that’s lokma (fried dough balls soaked in syrup). Melek wants to eat some. Sancar takes Melek over to the woman with the lokma. She dishes some out and says, this is for the memory of the deceased. Afiyet olsun. [a custom is for family to prepare lokma 40 days after someone passes away and distribute it to the neighborhood. The people get lokma and they recite a prayer for the soul of the deceased.]
Sancar also asks the woman to put some in a container, he wants to take the lokma to someone. Halise quietly asks Sancar if it’s a mistake to do this. I didn’t understand what Kavruk explained, she tells him. It’s not a mistake, Sancar replies, I asked him to do this. Okay, but whose daughter died, Halise asks? Mavi’s daughter, Sancar answers. [The sign says “for the sake of our deceased daughter Ekim”]
Halise pulls Sancar aside. You just got your daughter back, she says, and you want to give out lokma for the dead? That’s exactly what I want, he replies. You don’t think about what Mavi did for me? She did so much for your granddaughter. She deserves much more. She is very important. Halise asks, how can you pretend that the worst has passed? Melek is here now, but I spoke to the lawyer. We still have the hearing.
I understand, Sancar replies, we have to be very careful until the day of the hearing. But we have my daughter. I anticipated everything and it’s in our favor. Don’t worry. I hope so, Halise says, if they don’t find out that woman kidnapped Melek it will be fine. Why did you say that, Sancar asks with frustration. He entrusts Melek to his mother, waves goodbye to Melek. I’ll be right back and he leaves.
Elvan is scrubbing dishes and giving herself a good talking to. How stupid… yes, I should have known. Fool.. yes… sure… but I’m not learning. Gulsiye walks in on this. Why don’t you put these in the dishwasher? Zehra will complain about wasting water and climate change. Ay, the climate isn’t the only thing that changes, Elvan answers. People also change a lot. We must save water for the climate and what about the people? Does Zehra have a solution for that, too?
Elvan, something tells me that you haven’t received word from that barista, Gulsiye says. Please, keep silent, Elvan asks. Sancar is in the house. Do you want him to hear? Don’t worry, Gulsiye replies, Sancar is not here and everyone is outside. You know I’m not that reckless. Oh yes, Elvan mocks, you’re no reckless. I’m sorry, my mistake.
Gulsiye asks Elvan why she is so upset. What do you want me to do, Elvan asks in reply. Go and ask him what his intentions are, Gulsiye adivses. Ask what it is he wants. If it’s only to talk nicely so he can kiss you and disappear. Go find out what he’s looking for. Elvan says she already got mad at him and sent him away. Do you want me to go to him and swallow my pride? No way.
I’m not saying to go and beg, Gulsiye tells her, I’m only telling you to be yourself. You know how to raise your voice. Tell him how you feel. [Turkish] He won’t be able to avoid you. Shake him up with an Ottoman slap to the face. Let him come to his senses. Elvan turns to Gulsiye, the Elvan we knew before would have done that, right? The Elvan of whatever time would do that, Gulsiye replies. Elvan runs off. Be careful, Baristan Bey, Gulsiye laughs, you don’t have any idea what kind of woman you’re messing with.
Sancar shows up at Mavi’s with a big bouquet of flowers and a container of lokma. What are you doing here, she asks? I wanted to bring you these. He gives her the flowers and opens the lokma. She likes lokma and eats it right away. It’s to commemorate, he tells her. That Melek returned, she asks? No, he replies, it’s for Ekim. Let it be for her sake, her mother and me and everyone who thinks of her. I didn’t think it was my place to write her father’s name, but it’s for him too. So you remember them.
Mavi stops eating and walks away. What happened, he asks, what I did upset you? No I’m not upset, Mavi says. You just left. Why did you come back? My feet are constantly leading me back to you, Sancar tells her. She takes his hand. In that case, she says, welcome back. There’s that look…
Bora is “home”, enjoying something he’s watching on his phone. Elvan comes marching up. He stands up and greets her. I didn’t come to chat, Baristan Bey. I have something to say and afterwards I’m leaving. Bora’s ready to hear it. Elvan begins, you were asking about the traditions that we have here, remember? About the virtues and the values and what we consider important. Why are you saying this, Bora asks, what is this about?
Don’t interrupt, Elvan says. Like I said, I’ll tell you and I’ll leave. When you look a woman in the eyes, you are making an important promise and you are giving her hope. That’s the tradition, Bora. But I believe it’s not like that where you’re from. [Turkish] One will leave, the other one will come. It doesn’t surprise me that you’ve been divorced so many times. I can’t imagine how many women you’ve hurt. But you’re not going to do that to me. Because I’m Elvan, I’m strong and I don’t need anyone. And there are many people who love me. I hope I never meet anyone as hypocritical as you again.
I’m hypocritical, Bora asks, why do you say that? Yes, it’s obvious, Barista Bey. Why do you think? Let me tell you something, you are worse than Yahya. [ouch] At least he was transparent, you’re not. He never deluded me. She walks off. Bora follows. What are you saying, he asks? Wait a second! What happened? Why did you come here to tell me this? I understand my place well, she replies, and now I understand yours. I don’t want you to come near me again! Stay away!
She leaves, he lets her go. Look at what I was watching he says. He was playing the video he took of Elvan in her store. [Turkish I wanted to make you feel better, he says, but did I make it worse?
Sancar is still at Mavi’s house. They are sitting out by the water. Mavi notices that Sancar is very nervous and fidgety. He blurts, will you marry me? What did you say, Mavi laughs.
I know what love is, Sancar tells her, but I don’t know what it is to have a partner. I don’t know what it feels like to go to sleep with someone each night and wake up together. I never did it. And I don’t know what a person talks about with his beloved when he returns home from work. I’m learning something about this with you and I love everything I’m learning about you. We’ve also talked about marriage. Let’s create our own happiness, Mavi.
She really had no idea this was coming. Look Sancar, she explains, I’ve got nothing left in me for anyone else. What are you talking about, he replies. What’s happened in this house? What is that spark you brought to my daughter’s eyes? He takes her hand and places it over his heart. What is this Mavi? Isn’t this true? Are you not real? She gives him a kiss and answers, yes I am. I know you are, he says, I can hear the beat of your heart. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have asked you this.
But you know I’m leaving, she reminds him. How do you know, he asks? That could change. Look, I don’t know about romance, I’m a direct man, you know me. You can see what I feel for you. I love the peace between us—I don’t want to lose it. I’m sure you’ll say I’m crazy because we hardly know each other. But in the little time I’ve known you, I love you. And I love the decisions you made for my daughter. I believe in you, Mavi. I really do.
Sancar continues, [Turkish] I don’t know what happened in your past… but if you want, I can help heal your wounds. Marry me and we will become a family. Take my hand and we will walk through life together. She looks like she might turn him down, but then she says, okay, I’ll take your hand. He calls her, “Yol arkadaşım” (my road/life partner). Will you be my truth? Yes, she nods. Some happy kisses to seal the deal. [not bad for a guy who says he’s not a romantic]
This feeling is ruined by a segue to Guven, who is drowning his sorrows at the old Isikli homestead. [too bad, so sad] He gets a call from his man. We found the guy that Halise had hidden. His name is Ahmet Katran and he’s from Denizli. Guven says to bring him. The guy says he’s got other important information that he will send along. Guven says, [Turkish] let’s see if you can handle your past sins, Sancar Efe.
Back to MavSan. Let’s not tell anyone yet, Mavi says, especially Melek. Such is life. What if something goes wrong? Don’t worry, nothing is going to happen, Sancar answers. [Ay Sancar, we still have a lot of eps to go!] And if it happens, Mavi asks? Alright, Sancar gives in, but I won’t let Melek be upset again. People will talk and then there’s my mother… I can hear them now. Sure, Mavi agrees, they will say, ”you don’t know each other well, what’s the rush?”
What did you do, Sancar, he imagines his mother nagging, why didn’t you tell me, I’m your mother? You’re ungrateful, why did you hide this? They are going to say I’m divorced, Mavi adds, and I lost my daughter. I’d like to see anyone try to say that, Sancar says. But it’s true, Mavi answers. And they are going to tell me a lot about you. Macho, Sancar says with some irritation, they are going to tell you I am macho. Mavi laughs. Sancar adds, and that I am an uneducated idiot. They will say you went to university, and I don’t deserve you.
Mavi turns Sancar’s head to look at her. I’ve met many who have studied and none of them have your heart. Sancar… I only want one thing from you. [Turkish] As it happens in the beginning, you believe and hold onto each other without doubts. But then jealousy, pain and quarrels begin. I want you to always be the closest to me and I promise I will always be the closest to you. I don’t promise you, Sancar replies, I swear to you. Kisses and cuddling.
And we are out!
Thanks, Dondi, great retelling! I was surprised that one of Sancar’s men was selling him out! They’ve all been so loyal. So now I know this one was loyal too.
Sancar is moving too fast! They really don’t know each other well. And I think they should completely avoid each other until the custody is settled. I’m starting to think like Halise.
Yaya is just as wimpy as he always was. Like a little boy trying to be a man. But Dudu got her desire, she gets to live like a Princess in the mansion. That really surprised me as Halise knows it’s not her grandchild. I guess she wants her close to protect Yaya from the truth.
I am fed up with Elvan. Why is she making it so hard for Bora to like her. She’s really not experienced in relationships.
I guess that house is Mavi’s. But has it always been hers. Seems like she has her daughter’s things there. Maybe their vacation house. And we don’t know if her ex is still alive. Lot’s of unanswered questions right now. And Zehra and Karruk need to get their romance going!
Liz
Dear Dondi, thank you so much for every moment of this episode . You cleared up so many things for me. For example, I had no idea that Sancar Efe actually set up Guven to try to eliminate Kerem , his former driver, to trap Guven.
I like the way the new writers are writing the role of Kravuk who now seems to have much more confidence and power. He and San have become the dynamic duo. I hated the way he always kept his head down and appeared so subservient in the first 2_seasons .
Also, I appreciate learning about Turkish culture . The story about lokma is fascinating . Teaching people from many cultures I learned a lot about different practices following a death . Lokma sounds a lot like what the PA Dutch tradition of making Fastnachts on Ash Wednesday . They are fried donuts served with molasses .
Elvan, simmer down . You are driving away a good, solid guy. I like his side words .
More later. I have to dash now , but I wanted you to know how much I enjoy and appreciate your excellent , detailed recaps , Dondi.
P.s. I am still gathering some Turkish words as I watch Kurulus which is an epic.
El Precio de la Fama
1973, Guadalajara: Refugio looked like she was going through the motions. On the way out of the movie theatre he was recognized by fans. Refugio was sufficiently annoyed to leave him there and go home ahead of him. Later it took a lot of effort on his part to get her to have relations with him.
2020: Don Vicente and Dalia talked about his films. Brief flashback to 1974 when Vicente demanded a retake, which did not please Don Gilberto.
1976: In Juan Armenta, El Repartiado he sang about being proud to have been born poor. Thids theme was repeated in more films over the next four years.
1979: It was quite evident that he was having an affair with Amparo Muñoz, his leading lady in El Tahúr. During an awards presentation following production he stated that Refugio was the love of his life. [Personally, I think his mother was the only woman he truly loved. – Author]
Refugio paid a surprise visit to the set and saw Vicente and Amparo kissing. She turned back before she could be seen and found her rival's dressing van. She looked around for something sharp and destroyed an expensive fur coat, leaving the pieces on the bed.
Amparo and Vicente later returned to the van for an afternoon delight and she discovered the destruction. She began panicking just as Refugio knocked on the door. When Vicente opened the door Refugio calmly made a comment about how the film budget should have allowed for separate dressing rooms. She played it cool, finally letting him know that she was pregnant again. He was happy at this, but she let him know that whatever he did from then on he was not to have children with other women. He walked away realizing that he had been chastised.
2020: Dalia asked Don Vicente why he could not be happy solely with Refugio.
1979, Guadalajara: Refugio had a miscarriage. Her doctor later told her that this was due to the Rh incompatibility, so she could not have more children. In archival interview footage she liked about being happy.
1974: During production of La Ley del Monte Vicente and Felipe sang “Adios del soldado” as Felipe's life was going through bad times. Don Gilberto yelled “Cut!” because something
about this wasn't working. During a break Felipe told Vicente he was having family and money problems. He didn't seem to want help about the latter.
1999: Rodrigo was at the dinner table with the others. He said he wanted his mother there, but Refugio clearly was pained at this statement. She left the table. Gerardo was his usual hostile self. Alejandra was happy to have a little brother.
1977: During production of El Arracadas Felipe and Federico arrived on the set and Vicente showed off his new horse. They teased him about his new co-star, Patricia Rivera. He went to her dressing van to find her in her lingerie. It was slightly awkward as he tried to seduce her while helping her with her earring. She played hard to get... this time. He thought about this as he walked away. Later they shot a scene where he said she would eventually forget she ever hated him. He was fantasizing about having sex with her. They shot a make-out scene later on the riverbank, a scene most of us hope Refugio never saw.
Later Vicente talked about this with Felipe and Federico, certain that Patricia was not in love with him.
1999: V.Sr confronted Alejandro about his accusation that Gerardo was stealing money. This got worse since Rodrigo had joined them and there was more conflict among the brothers. Alejandro was looking for V.Jr to take over the administrative duties and would not retract his accusation against Gerardo. V.Sr and Refugio were both disturbed by all this.
If anyone is watching this at all, please post here. I will do my best to provide recaps to the end but due to the On Demand issue I frequently can't view it a second time to fill in details. I also think that the series has been edited differently for US viewers because the early episodes do not match the earliest episodes shown in Mexico.
Thank you Dondi! Your recap is fantastically detailed and well written as always! We so appreciate all the time and effort you put into these recaps!
Why am I not surprised about Sancar rushing things??? Lol
When they were talking about the lokma and 41 days after the death I was expecting it to be for Gediz and was surprised it was for Magi's daughter - who died more than 41 days ago I am guessing. And Sancar just assuming the ex is dead too..... this is surprising given his propensity to look into everyone and everything. He should have checked this out!!
I am not frustrated with Elvan for confronting Bora. People need what they need, and she's an insecure woman who feels unvalued by men. She needs someone who is going to be attentive and answer her texts, etc. Nothing wrong with that and it's better that he knows her needs, what is frustrating is that she doesn't just spit it out and communicate clearly what is bothering her. She says the most vague obscure thing and then declares 'it's obvious', um. No dear it isn't obvious no one has any idea what you are talking about!!! I know why she is upset and I still don't know what point she was trying to make in that scene!!! Lol
Urban, as you know I'm not watching this but your recaps are mesmerizing, in and of themselves. Several things in particular stood out:
"During an awards presentation following production he stated that Refugio was the love of his life. [Personally, I think his mother was the only woman he truly loved. – Author]. Slow burn...
And
"he played it cool, finally letting him know that she was pregnant again. He was happy at this, but she let him know that whatever he did from then on he was not to have children with other women. He walked away realizing that he had been chastised". Shaking my head. Almost too much of a fairy tale, let alone real life.
Diana
" I swear, sometimes it seems as if Mexico City is a town of maybe 500 people."
SpanProf - LOL!!! I have seen this phenomenon in a few telenovelas.
I watched the first episode of this and didn't even finish it. Too many characters and the whole grifter thing just did not interest me. Which is odd because I enjoyed the Ocean's Eleven movie. But maybe George Clooney had something to do with that. ;-)
LA HERENCIA
Adriana Noel - thank you for your comments on this one. Silly sounds good to me, what with all that is happening in real life right now. I will give it a try and hope I like it.
Mark my words. I am certain as soon as marriage was mentioned, eggs lined up waiting to slid down those tubes. SANJAR is a fertility God. I say go for it Sanjar/Mavi just because you both deserve it and it will really piss off Halise.
Nice smacking around.
I am Sanjar Fevered again.
Ha ....Fev...yes Sanjar is a fertility God . Both Nare and Meanie got pregnant after one night of Sanjar, so Chances are that at his third time up at bat, San did indeed hit another one out of the park . So many telenovela\ dizi storylines involve the age old " man woman birth death infinity ...throw in money and power and write a story.
Our embajador patio has become a party place. What will happen next? We know that there will be more obstacles to this true love story just as in real life , The happy couple , the sweet fami!y just beginning will suffer and have to fight for their HEA.
P.s. I have seen Tuba in three shows , and when she is not all dolled up in chic clothes , she is always in comfy, cozy lounge clothes , and they often show her eating and drinking. Maybe it's her way of saying " Hey, I am just a normal ,,gorgeous person just like you viewers .I eat and drink and wear comfy, sloppy clothes when I am chilling in my mansion ...like all of you. "
Thanks, everyone.
Yep, Sancar wasted no time at all. He couldn’t. There are only 8 more Turkish episodes left and we gotta get that drama train rolling.
“I’m starting to think like Halise.” LOL, Liz, I hope it’s only for this instance. Halise wants to protect Yahya and cover her ass at the same time. If the whole truth comes out, it’s big trouble for her.
IIRC, Mavi rented the house. She told Bora she was looking for beachfront property. I assumed she bought some things for Melek. Not sure why she would cart around her daughter’s stuff, but you never know.
Sancar Efe is always one step ahead, Susanlynn. He fixed it so Kerem would definitely testify for him instead of Guven. I agree they are writing Kavruk much better as the show goes on. I’m glad they are because Kavruk is a great character and the actor is perfect in the role. As for yummy fried dough treats, in my neck of the woods we have Italian zeppoli (powdered sugar) and Greek loukoumades (honey syrup) to enjoy.
Darcy, I’m also glad that Elvan confronted Bora. But I don’t understand why he’s so dense. There's definitely a culture clash. What’s not for him to understand? Isn’t he Turkish? I thought she pretty much laid it out about what a woman like her expects. She’s from a place where men and women generally don’t have casual dates. And casual sex? Yahya and Dudu are a big scandal. Some marriages are still arranged and we’ve seen how virginity is valued. At the least, he could have acknowledged her texts. Maybe he's a little afraid of starting something, seeing he has a poor track record.
Yes, it was interesting about the lokma. Even Halise was confused by it. Kavruk offered to have Mavi’s ex investigated and Sancar thought about it. Then he said not to do it because he’s prone to jealousy. Sancar is trying to change his ways but this might have been the wrong time to do it.
LOL, Fev, —" SANJAR is a fertility God”. Forget about the uneducated macho thing, someone should have warned Mavi about this.
IMHO, Tuba is absolutely gorgeous no matter what she is wearing or doing. And I’m enjoying Engin and Tuba together again. They really click. And I get the feeling they don’t mind the kissing scenes either. If you watched KPA, you know what I mean.
I will have the Wednesday recap up later tonight.
That comment that Halise made to Sancar about someone finding out that Mavi " kidnapped " Melek made me nervous. Will Halise tell someone ?
I wish we had more episodes . I like this season .
