Mujer de Nadie (Nobody’s Woman)– PRODUCED BY GISELLE GONZALEZ
Coming
“Muy Pronto!”
Mujer de
Nadie is a melodrama based on the
telenovela Amarte Es Mi Pecado created by Liliana Abud.
Leading the cast will be Livia Brito and Marcus Ornellas (Si Nos Dejan) as
protagonists.
This melodrama
centers around Lucía Arizmendi (Livia), a young beautiful woman who lives in
Cholula with her father, Jacobo (Marco Treviño) and stepmother, Isaura (Cynthia
Klitbo), an ambitious and cruel woman. Lucía’s passion is making talavera; she
is in love with Alfredo (Arap Bethke, whom we saw in La Usurpadora)
but he is cruel and unscrupulous…and only wants to take advantage of her
innocence and purity. After Jacobo suffers a heart attack, Alfredo and Isaura
plan to offer Lucía to Heriberto, the richest and most powerful man in town,
who has been lusting after Lucía. While trying to escape from Heriberto, Lucía
meets and falls in love with Fernando Ortega (Marcus), an honest man whose life
changes when he meets Lucía; he is a businessman who has a small transportation
company…and he will make sure Lucía will never again feel like the Mujer
de Nadie! After Lucía is evicted from her home as a result of
Heriberto’s orders, she goes to live with her aunt/mother’s sister, Alejandra
(Azela Robinson). Living with Alejandra is her goddaughter, Casilda (María
Panella, whom we saw in ¿Te Acuerdas de Mi?). Roxana (Carmen Aub)
will be the antagonist who will go to all means to keep Lucía and Fernando
apart.
Others joining
the cast are Veronica Merchant, Plutarco Haza, Veronica Langer, Alexa Martin
and Rosa María Bianchi.

Mavi walks down the beach in a simple but elegant white dress and a flower in her beautiful, long hair. Sancar, in a suit, walks to meet her. He accompanies her to the wedding table, where the officiant waits along with witnesses, Kavruk and Faruk.
The ceremony starts. Mavi looks at Sancar and gives her answer, “ediyorum”, I do. Applause. Sancar gives his emphatic, Evet! Evet! Evet! Yes! Yes! Yes! Kavruk encourages Mavi to step on Sancar’s foot. There’s laughter as Sancar avoids Mavi’s foot. Our couple signs the book and so do the witnesses. Mavi and Sancar are married! They stand and look into each other’s eyes. Sancar gives Mavi a kiss on the forehead. Lots of caresses and a big hug.
Yahya has the nerve to come to Elvan’s shop. What are you doing here, she asks? I’m sorry, I couldn’t come to congratulate you on your store, he tells her. He presents her with a big nazar. She warily accepts. The store is beautiful, he says, you did good work. You were always a very talented person. This is only the beginning of your business. Soon you will have a chain. Thanks, still wary Elvan replies, I am making my best efforts. Your brother helped me a lot and I’m grateful. [you should be ashamed, Yahya]
I hope you are also okay, Elvan politely inquires. Yes, I’m very good, thanks, he replies, you have always been like this, Elvan. You have treated me well even when I’ve hurt you. You’ve even forgiven me for what I’ve done. And I think I never asked for your forgiveness, right Elvan? She shakes her head no. And still you treated me with respect after the way I treated you, Yahya tells her, but I don’t deserve that.
My mother says there is divine justice, Yahya continues, I have made you feel bad so many times… I will always have an emptiness… at least until you forgive me. Every day I feel something is wrong. What could be wrong, Elvan replies, you are going to be a father soon. Having a son is not the only important thing, he says. To be able to understand others is more important. Having trust is also important. To be equals.
You can tell it’s not easy, but Elvan gives Yahya her blessing and forgiveness, “helal olsun”. I’m not mad at you, she says. May your way be open, “yolun açık olsun”. May you always be happy. Do you really mean it, Yahya asks? She nods. I never deserved you, he tells her, I didn’t show you the appreciation you deserved. I also hope you will be very happy, he adds, and I hope I can forgive myself. Inshallah, Elvan replies. Yahya leaves and Elvan goes to the door and watches him go. And so does Bora who is walking up to Elvan’s store.
Elvan walks back into the store and closes the door on Bora. She turns the sign to “closed”, stares him down, turns away and starts to cry. Nothing Bora can do but walk away.
Mavi prepares dinner and we see a man’s footsteps walk up to her house and now he’s watching her in the kitchen. She’s got her back turned and assumes it’s Sancar who has arrived. She says, I hope you bought fruit, I forgot to put it on the list. I sent you a message but you didn’t see it. Do you want bread?
The vistor speaks, I’m sorry Mavi, I didn’t receive your message. Mavi is stunned. She turns around. Her ex, Sedat, is sitting at the table, smiling at her. What are you going to cook, he asks, you can’t imagine how hungry I am. She drops a dish of food. This was the end of Turkish ep 43.
Mavi snaps out of it and tells Sedat to leave. Don’t tell me you aren’t happy to see me, he says. She raises her voice, I can’t deal with you now! Get out of my house! Calm down, he replies, we haven’t seen each other in a long time. Take a seat. We have a lot to talk about. She tries pulling him out of his chair. Leave, Sedat! How the hell did you find me?!
He laughs, how did I find you? I looked at the government database. I saw a case had been opened against you in Bodrum. False documents. A minor crime for someone who left behind two corpses. Do you remember, my love?
Mavi has really domesticated Sancar quickly. He’s at the market with the list and reading it off to the owner: bread, tomatoes, pickles, and uh…where is the mascarpone? What is that, the owner asks, is it detergent? No, it’s not, Sancar replies, it’s cheese. The owner doesn’t have that, but he has some Izmir cheese (Tulum). That’s not close to what mascarpone is and I’m sure Sancar has no idea, but he’ll take it. The list is complete and Sancar is very pleased.
Mavi has locked herself in the house and Sedat shouts outside the door. You think you can escape me, you damned traitor! Open! He bangs on the door. Then he looks around the house for another way in. I want you to hide! He bangs on a window. You will live like this from now on! In uncertainty and fear, do you hear me?! I told you the day you asked for a divorce! You are mine! You belong to me!
Here comes Sancar, happy with his grocery haul and snacking on bread. Sedat notices him. Mavi comes out of the house and looks around. Seems like Sedat has left. Sancar sees Mavi out on the front porch. Mavi? Are you okay? Who was that man, Sancar asks? Where is he, Mavi asks breathlessly, where did he go? You know him, Sancar asks? He went walking down the beach. Did he scare you, are you okay?
I thought he was an intruder, she says, he scared me. Sancar goes to catch him. Wait, Mavi calls out, don’t leave me. He hugs her. Stay here, she asks. He comforts her. We see Sedat lurking and watching.
Guven’s guy couldn’t get something done so Guven makes a call. This call is to Sedat! Guven tells him, apparently my assistant couldn’t explain the situation to you. I am Guven Celebi. Sedat hangs up on him. Guven is surprised. He didn’t even ask me why I was calling. Guven’s man says he tried to explain. We have investigated him, and he has the profile of a psychopath. [An Akin replacement?] The car accident only made things worse. Even his closest friends have cut him off. They were afraid. Working with a man like him could bring us problems, Guven’s man advises.
No risk, no reward, Guven replies. Sedat is the man I was looking for. If we want to defeat a crazy guy like Sancar, we need to confront him with a man who is willing to lose everything. He’s a dangerous man, Guven’s assistant warns. Do you know what the key is to successful diplomacy, Guven asks? To be capable of identifying the danger and using it to your benefit. I’ve worked with dangerous men, but I’ve never let them intimidate me because I know exactly how to deal with damaged people. [!]
Guven studies Sedat’s pic and notes he resembles Akin. Do you know where he is staying, Guven asks. Yes. Guven says let’s go pay him a visit. It might take some time, but eventually he will work with us. Just like Akin.
Mavi is very subdued during dinner. Are you okay, Sancar asks? You didn’t eat anything. What happened? If I upset you, tell me. No, you’re great, she replies, you’re great. So are you, he says. He asks again what happened. It doesn’t matter what the problem is, he says, tell me what happened. Don’t stay silent. Let’s face it together. He reminds her she’s his “yol arkadaşım”. I need you to trust me. But I won’t pressure you. You can tell me when you feel comfortable. I’ll be patient. I’ll wait. [he’s trying]
She thanks Sancar. I’m going to tell you, but not now. It’s a beautiful night. I want to enjoy it by your side. [I love the way they look at each other.] Sancar grabs his phone and asks do you like Zeki Muren? [Famous Turkish singer, songwriter, actor.] Yes, she does. Sancar tells a story about meeting Zeki Muren when he was a child and he even patted his head.
Sancar tells another story about an old café on the waterfront, where his father and his friends used to go. He would sit out there and drink tea and look out to sea. He would joke with the guys. Wow, how fortunate I was. I didn’t realize it then. A person understands everything after he loses it. This is true, Mavi agrees, people don’t realize if they’ve never lost. [Turkish] But I want to know your value without losing you, she tells Sancar.
Bora is outside his café waiting for Elvan to leave her store. He sees her and hurries over. Elvan, wait, don’t go, please. She picks up the pace. Don’t be rude, we’re neighbors, he says, following her. She stops. I have absolutely nothing to say to you, she tells him. Understand? I’m leaving here.
She turns to walk and he stops her. I’m starting to get offended, he says. Do I deserve this? What did I do? Why are you treating me like this? I don’t understand. Explain what happened, please. Don’t I deserve that? Elvan just stares at him and then takes off again. Let’s talk like adults, he calls after her. How old is she, he says in exasperation.
Bora goes back to the café and greets a guest. It’s Sedat. It’s late, Bora tells him, I only have coffee to go, I’m about to close. Sedat reads the “word of the day”. He asks Bora, did you write that or did she? Who, Bora asks. Mavi, Sedat answers. She likes to write these types of phrases. Wow, you know Mavi, Bora asks? Yes, better than anyone, Sedat replies, I love Mavi and she loves me. I only wanted to come and say hello to her. Mavi is off today, Bora says.
Bora notes that Sedat has been squeezing a little rubber ball. Did you have an auto accident, he asks? I had an accident and I was given one for physical therapy. Sedat doesn’t answer but lifts his sleeve to reveal a large scar on his arm. Wow, it looks serious, Bora says. You have no idea, Sedat responds.
Sedat takes a few steps and turns back to Bora. Can I ask a favor? Yes. The battery on my phone is dead and I forgot to ask my wife if she needs me to buy anything. Bora hands over his phone. Sedat steps away, finds Mavi’s number and memorizes it. Then he pretends to call his wife. [yeah, Bora this guy is strange.]
Halise and soon to be DIL Dudu are picking out wedding flowers. Leave it to me, Halise says, I have organized a lot of weddings. [and we see how some have turned out.] Ha, Gulsiye smirks in the background as she sets the table.
Yayha arrives at the mansion. Dudu jumps up to greet him with excitement. He’s rather cool to her. Where is your brother, Halise asks, you didn’t come with him? Yahya shrugs. Where could he be, Halise wonders. I asked him not to come late. We have a lot to talk about. I’m going to call him. [The thing I wonder about is why, after Sancar just got Melek back, he stuffed her with lokma and then promptly ditched her for Mavi. Has he seen his daughter at all? Great for a kid who’s losing her hair due to abandonment issues. End rant]
MavSan cuddle on the couch. [Turkish] When you put your head on my shoulder like this, he says, it seems like our hearts touch each other… I love it. Me, too, Mavi replies. Then her mood suddenly changes and Sancar picks up on it. Something happened, he notes. Why do you say that, she replies. I can feel it in your breathing, he says. His phone rings and he wants to ignore it. Mavi says it could be important. Could be about Melek. [remember her?] Sancar reluctantly pulls out his phone. It’s Halise. Mavi says she could be calling for Melek. Sancar takes the call.
I’m sorry, mom, I forgot, he tells Halise. Can we talk tomorrow? I can’t come now. Why are you doing this, she asks? You don’t keep your mother waiting. What’s happened to you lately? Yahya is here. Son, please, we have a lot to talk about. Dinner is ready and all we are missing is you. What do we have to talk about, he asks? Halise says she will tell him when he’s sitting at the table. Mavi whispers that he should go. Sancar says he’ll be there.
Mavi tells him to go and settle his business. He doesn’t want to leave her alone. If you miss me that much, come back tonight, she says. Kiss.
More Yoyo and Dodo wedding talk. Ugh. Blah, blah, blah. All Halise wants is for order and peace in the house and for the family to be together. Elvan arrives just in time to overhear Halise say, I want to have my grandson in my arms. And I want to be happy with my dear son, Yahya. I don’t ask for much. Elvan is frozen. Yahya sees her and says hello. So does Halise. Dudu looks and turns away. Awkward. Elvan goes upstairs.
Elvan goes to the cursed bedroom. She hasn’t even removed her coat. She sits on the bed and starts to cry. She says, what were you expecting, Elvan? This is what you have to put up with if you decide to keep living here. You have to go down to dinner with those two every day. Can you do that? No. Open your eyes, you are alone in this house. And wait, the worst is coming. Are you afraid, Elvan? When are you going to arm yourself with courage? Elvan sinks down on the bed and sobs.
Guven and his assistant are waiting for Sedat to show. The key is to have patience, Guven says. You can force Sedat to come to me but you can’t make him do what I want. And here comes Sedat. Guven introduces himself and hold out his hand. Sedat doesn’t take it. He asks, what do you want? Could we have coffee, Guven offers. For what, Sedat wants to know. I need to know why you came from Istanbul, Guven replies. We could help each other. Sedat is not interested and starts to walk. Guven’s man grabs him by the arm, the gentleman is not finished.
Sedat looks at his arm being held and gets a crazy psycho look. He smiles and takes a blade out of his back pocket and turns the guy around and holds the blade against his throat. Please Sedat Bey, Guven calmly says, that’s not necessary. Forgive him. Sedat growls, if you touch me again, I will end your life. Understand?! He pushes the guy away.
Sedat holds the blade in front of Guven. Let’s get to the point, what do you want? I want to destroy Sancar Efeoglu, Guven says, I want to make his life a living hell. Who is Sancar Efeoglu, Sedat asks, and why should I care? Sancar is Mavi’s lover, Guven replies. I know you came here for her. If we allied… Sedat asks, her lover? Mavi’s? Yes, her lover, Guven confirms.
Sedat scoffs, Mavi doesn’t know what love is. She doesn’t feel anything. I just want to save a little time, Guven says, eventually you will see this with your own eyes. Sancar and Mavi are a very happy couple. What’s more, Mavi risked her life to save Sancar’s daughter. Sedat asks how old is the daughter. She’s ten, she’s my granddaughter. Her name is Melek. Sedat is affected.
I am a wealthy man, Guven says, I’ve got men who can offer you what you need for support you. Sedat warns, a man like you has a lot to lose. But I have nothing, absolutely nothing to lose. I’ll leave my card at reception, Guven says, think about it. Sedat walks away. We got him, Guven tells his assistant, he’s ours.
Sedat goes to his room. He replays Guven’s words. “Sancar is Mavi’s lover”, “I know you came for her.”, “Sancar and Mavi are a happy couple”, “Mavi risked her life to save Sancar’s daughter”. Sedat goes back out.
Dinner at the Efeoglu mansion. I think the only one enjoying it is Dudu. Sancar is clearly ticked. He quietly asks Gulsiye, where is Elvan? She had a headache, took a pill and went to her room, she answers. Halise tells Sancar she is organizing Yahya’s wedding, and we will finish this as soon as possible. Yes, mother, whatever you want, he replies, but nothing extravagant. Melek asks, the baby will arrive soon, right? Then I will be its cousin, right? Yes, Dudu says, he will arrive soon and you will be his cousin. You could consider him as a brother.
Melek has another question, and what will the baby be to my Aunt Elvan? Halise takes this one. He will be nothing to her. And remember from now on, Elvan is your abla. Your new aunt will be Dudu, your uncle’s wife. Yayha looks depressed. [lol] Melek says she will call her Elvan. She’s my best friend. I love her and she loves me. Dudu looks unhappy. Sancar smiles at Melek. Then things get uncomfortable again. It’s a wonder that anyone is able to eat.
Mavi is sitting outside with a cup of tea. We see Sedat lurking. Her telephone rings. She leaves her cup and goes inside to answer the phone. Sedat takes this opportunity to sneak in closer. Bora has called Mavi to check in. Did something happen, she asks? Sedat grabs Mavi’s teacup.
Bora tells Mavi that there was a man here that was asking about you. It was very uncomfortable. Nothing strange happened but… I don’t know. Honestly, I didn’t like his energy. He looked too suspicious. Sedat puts the cup down and hides before Mavi comes back outside.
I know who you are referring to, Mavi says. He was here. If he returns, don’t let him enter. Bora is alarmed. How do you know this man? Who is he? Is there a problem, Mavi? I don’t want to talk about him now, she tells Bora. We’ll talk later. He’s a ghost of the past. He will disappear. Sedat is listening.
And we are out.
Dondi, thank you for another excellent account as our story unfolds.
Wow, a sudden, secret wedding . By the sea and simple .
Thanks for translating Ssncar's words about never experiencing the small, intimate, everyday joys of being married to the one you love.. .waking up together , going to sleep togeter, being the witness to your spouse's life .
We knew that the new love story was not going to be smooth sailing. ..enter the new tall, dark ,obsessed, creepyp, and extremely unhinged Sedat who will now replace awful Akin , and Guv has decided he is the perfect hire to torment Sancar . I am glad Bora has been alerted .
Thanks, Dondi, great recap. The opening scenes seemed like a dream to me. I wonder if she is divorced from her husband. Sancar should have done some research on Mavi. And poor Maleak, for a devoted dad he’s not around much.
It seems that Halise is trying to hurt Elvan or drive her away. Not sure what she’s trying to do. But how cruel to tell Malek that Elvan was no longer her aunt! Elvan needs to get her own place and learn how to have a relationship.
With Bora, before he just gives up on her.
So Guven knew Akin was a psycho and still wanted Nare to marry him. I hope this psycho ends up turning on him!

RGV Chick, Novelera, Liz, Anon, Carmella, Susanlynn & Co.,: Y'all watching this Telenovela ?
I've tried to get interested, but the stupidity of some of the characters have driven me nuts.
Steve Boudreaux
Thank you Dondi! You're amazing and your dedication in bringing these detailed recaps every day is so appreciated!!
Sancar and Mavi's wedding sounds romantic but also like a horrible idea because Melek wasn't involved or even aware!! How is she going to feel when she finds out her dad got married without even telling her? You were so right in pointing out that he just got her back and abandoned her three seconds later!!! He is the worst 'good father'! And now he's putting his daughter in danger AGAIN because he didn't even bother to investigate the not dead ex....sigh
Thanks for clarifying that Elvan spelled it out to Bora. I haven't seen that episode yet and I assumed she was vague since he clearly didn't get it. Hope they work it out, I like him. He's more fun than the always serious, or fighting, or threatening others in this tale! Kavruk is cool too! Lol
And Sancar is hot so there's that!! Hehe

Part 1 of 2
1977, Guadalajara: Alejandro was dancing to rock music in the living room when Refugio got home from shopping. She smiled.
Vicente and Patricia talked about a possible affair.
2020: Refugio and Alejandro talked about his conversation with Dalia. He was conflicted because of his father's upcoming birthday for which Don Vicente wanted a big party while being in declining health.
Dalia asked Don Vicente whether he and Refugio had been overprotective of Alejandro.
1980? Guadalajara: Despite having been told by his father that it was unmasculine, Alejandro helped his mother make cookies. He said he wanted to become a singer. [Archival footage of Alejandro singing with his father at some earlier point.]
2020: Dalia was writing and paused, thinking about Lupita. Refugio arrived and asked her what Alejandro told her. Alejandro went to see his father about the same thing.
Dalia told her that Vicente was disturbed because her mission was to get to the truth.
1978?: Vicente put rose petals all over the hotel room bed, checked the champagne bucket, and stripped, all the while thinking about Patricia's demands. There was a knock on the door and he answered, thinking it was Patricia. A male photographer was on the other side of the door and he snapped a photo and ran for the elevator. Vicente grabbed a towel to conceal the main subject of the photo just as two maids appeared and recognized him. He gracefully did not consent to closer contact, but signed autographs for them.
The photographer delivered the photo to Patricia, who paid him.
2020: Don Vicente told Alejandro that things were not always what they seemed. Refugio could not believe that he could have done such a thing. “There are too many people who will take advantage of famous people.” She did not think that her family deserved this.
1978: Vicente had a huge argument with Patricia. She had the nude photo and she taunted him with it. He took it and tore it up. [Can't wait to see if she also had the negative. – Author]
1977: V.Jr had trouble with his studies. Gerardo insulted him about this. Alejandro didn't care for school either. All were aware that their father didn't have much formal education, but Refugio was determined that her sons would have it. [Archival footage of Vicente performing in the palenque.]
2020: Don Vicente and Refugio touched on the crime while sitting at the outdoor fire pit.
Adulterio es un Infierno
Part 2 of 2
1979, Jalisco: Patricia glammed up while Vicente was on television. As he left the TV station he was greeted by screaming fans at the security gate. He was his usual gracious public self to them. He turned around and was ambushed by Patricia who had a pair of box-seat tickets to the opera. He backed out at first, possibly because he considered this out of his depth, and saying he wasn't dressed for it. She threatened to get another man – “an adult” – to go with her.
He changed his mind immediately and went with her. The opera was Madama Butterfly. Vicente appeared to be mesmerized by the music and the voices. When the soprano sang “Un bel di” Patricia suggested that Refugio had much in common with Cho Cho San.
They went back to her place after leaving the opera house, but she took her own time letting him in. They did not even make it to the bedroom. Their (first?) coupling was underscored by “Un bel di.” Apparently, it was good. He complimented her on her beauty as well. She made it clear that she expected to get el Taco Placero. They went for a second round.
1979, Guadalajara: Conflicts between Vicente's sons. Alejandro had a nightmare about their father abandoning them. Refugio demanded that the others calm down. She told them she realized that they all had different personalities and that was alright but they had to get along. As she left the boys' bedroom she heard Gerardo say that their father was a star and therefore would rarely be home.
2020: Alejandro sang one of his early hits in the palenque to the usual screaming crowd [likely to be 80 or more % female; BTDT – Author].
1979, Mexico City: Vicente's latest film was a hit. Don Gilberto lectured him about sacrificing for art and that he would need to have more self-control. He resigned as his agent over Patricia. He turned his professional duties over to Federico.
I gave up on this one. Between the fact that I don't find grifters amusing and the confusion over the real and faked identities of her accomplices I can't deal.
Rey, #17
Having heard both Pablo Montero and Alejandro Fernandez live and also having met them I'm going to declare that nothing can be sexier than a handsome guy who sings sad love songs.
Darcy I agree that San was wrong not having Melek at the wedding .She is just connecting to Mavi and would have loved putting on a pretty dress and being part of the happy, simple ceremony by the beautiful sea. I guess tbe writers wanted to give the newlyweds some alone time.San has been celebate for a long time . .... ( pregnant pause here to let. that . sink . in ).... A long time . He and Nare only shared a few chaste kisses , I think , and after that one traumatic night with Meanie, he wouldn't touch her with a ten foot pole. Now, he gazes at Mavi like a preteen boy looks at his first crush. ( Take a minute to remember that first crush...you're welcome .) San has become a huge, awkward puppy deep in puppy love.
Dondi, yes, San is so smitten with Mavi that he has not been giving Melek much attention . Hello . San...remember tbat you still don't have custody and Guven is still plotting and has money again . ( How did Guven end up with Akin's money ?)
SANJAR seriously born cursed. The ex of Mavi, wasn't he the nice guy on Madre who tried to help Sule? Now look, I guess you never really know someone. Guven must die in some kind of a really painful way. But just guessing if Mavi and Sanjar make it thru all this..and Guven takes a dirt nap. Would Nare reappear with her weak fragile state and set Sanjar and Melek up all over again?
Of course Nare could be in Australia now banging some surfer guy.
Just saying
Fev
Thank you, everyone! I appreciate the kind words and insightful comments.
Very nice wedding on the beach. Maybe Sancar will have sex more frequently than once every ten years. He had that one big make out session on the beach with Nare and a couple of small kisses in subsequent eps. We never saw him kiss Meanie other than when Halise gave him a signal at their wedding. He kissed her on the forehead and looked sick afterwards.
Sancar is trying so hard to change for Mavi. He’s trusting her, he’s being patient and ignoring his worst instincts. It’s funny to watch him struggle with this. But there’s also a serious side to this. Unfortunately, Mavi is keeping important info from him that is putting them all in danger. Wait till that ish hits the fan.
IIRC, Susanlynn, Guven ended up with Akin’s money as part of the deal he made with Nare to get Sancar out of jail.
Recap coming shortly.
Dinner is over. Yahya says it’s time to go. Halise walks Dudu out. Sancar holds his brother back for a word. He says, we fight a lot, but we are brothers. I am your older brother. What I want most, is that you have children and you are happy. But, Yahya, whatever happens, don’t break Elvan’s heart, please. Do that for me. Yes, Yahya replies, I will be careful, don’t worry.
Sancar notes that something is bothering his brother. What’s wrong? You look sad. Why the face if you are getting married soon? I’m tired, Yahya answers, that’s all. Sancar says he knows his brother. You tend to be more cheerful than this, you can’t fool me. What happened? Did you realize that this is not what you were looking for? Yahya denies this and sticks with the “tired” excuse.
Sancar is not quite buying it and searches his brother’s face hoping to get a better answer. Then he just lets it go and tells him to go home and get some rest. Smile, brother, you’re going to be a father soon. Think of your family. Dudu calls for Yahya and he goes. Sancar’s smiley expression changes immediately and he heads upstairs to Elvan.
They made a slight cut. Elvan is in her bed, looking at her phone. She’s been tracking Bora’s online activity. She thinks she might have been a little harsh with him. She thinks she should have kept quiet, it’s not like Bora owed her anything. And now she chased him away.
Sancar knocks on Elvan’s door and she lets him in. He asks her if she is hungry. No, she already ate. They sit to talk. He begins, I know you are feeling sad, I feel the same, but this is fate. We must accept it. The future is already written. She agrees and says, but I’m not sad at all. I also want Yahya to be happy. He deserves it. [she’s a better person than I am] I already had a conversation with him. He visited me and I gave him my blessing, I forgave him “hakkını helal ettim”.
Sancar is surprised. Where did you speak? At the store, Elvan answers. Sancar asks, he came to ask you forgiveness? Yep. Well done, Yahya, he says. Sancar is very pleased. In the Turkish Sancar happily notes, even a broken clock is right twice a day. lol. He tells Elvan, even if Yahya gets married, it will not change anything between us. Understand? You will always be a sister to me. I love you like a brother, Elvan replies, and I always will. The conversation ends with a very nice hug.
Elvan goes back to bed and picks up her phone. It seems he’s (Bora) always online, she muses.
Mavi starts dozing off outside. [if I were her, I wouldn’t be sitting outside all alone] She goes inside and locks up for the night. And there’s Sedat, still lurking.
Mavi is in bed, she yawns and texts Sancar: “I’m tired. The tea that Elvan gave me is very strong. I’m very tired. I’m going to sleep. You have your keys, right? Mavi settles back in bed. Sancar reads the text and answers he will come after he puts Melek to bed. Mavi gets the message and turns out the lights. Sedat tries to break into the house.
Why do they edit anything with Sancar and Melek? Sancar and Melek are enjoying father – daughter time. She asks, how is Mavi? How is our home? Sancar gives her a kiss on the head. Did you like that house a lot? Yes, I liked it very much, she says, there were only three of us. Sancar smiles, yes, three of us… okay… let’s go there again, my girl. She asks, do you love Mavi? Yes, I love her, he replies. But you love me more, right, Melek asks? Sancar responds, what did you think?! Of course! Another kiss.
Melek grabs a book and asks her father to read: “The Princess and the Man with the Bad Heart”. Sancar reads: Once upon a time there was a beautiful and kind princess. (Cut to Mavi sleeping.) She was like an angel from heaven. Her beauty was inexplicable.
Sedat manages to open the door and looks around the house. He hears Mavi in her room and watches her from the doorway. She’s having a dream. He goes to the bed and sits down next to her. He touches her hair and her hand. Together for life, he says quietly, I will not let you go. You’re forever mine. He kisses her head.
Melek has fallen asleep and Sancar covers her up and tucks her in. He shuts the light and leaves.
Sedat walks through the house and sits on the couch. He grabs a book and underneath, we see the marriage certificate. Mavi is still asleep. Sedat has Mavi’s phone. One password for everything, he says, your daughter’s birthday. It makes sense. He reads the texts between Mavi and Sancar. Uh, oh, not good. He sees the marriage certificate. What the hell is this? He gets that psycho look.
Here comes Sancar. He takes out his key and puts it in the lock. Sedat hears. Sancar enters and notices the door to the porch is open. He quickly closes it. He notices Mavi’s phone on the couch and picks it up. [Turkish] Allah, Allah, I tell her “I’m a jealous person, keep your phone with you” and she left her phone and went to bed.
Sancar gets suspicious and heads to the bedroom. He opens the door. Mavi? He sits on the bed. Are you okay? He strokes her hair and she wakes up from her dreams. He holds her. It’s okay. It’s okay. Mavi says, Sancar? Yes, love? She tells him, “Seni seviyorum”, I love you. He smiles at her, “bende seni seviyorum” I love you, too. A kiss. They hold on to each other.
Elvan tries to make a quiet getaway in the morning, but Halise catches her outside. Aren’t you going to have breakfast before you go? I have to go shopping, Elvan says. You didn’t come down for dinner last night either, Halise notes. I had a stomachache, Elvan replies. Yes, I know this can’t be easy for you to see your ex so happy with his woman, Halise says, but Dudu is pregnant, and they are going to marry. They are going to move in soon.
Elvan understands. He’s your son and you are going to be a grandmother. You need to think about your grandson. I’ve been thinking, Halise says, maybe you should move in with Feride Efe after the wedding. She’s alone there. I would be nice for her to have company and for you, too. No offense, right? Elvan just stares at her.
Halise continues, I know you understand. That’s why I can be frank with you. It’s not a good idea for you and them to live under the same roof. Sancar doesn’t know yet and I don’t know what to say. If I propose it, he surely won’t agree. But if you tell Sancar that it was your idea, he will accept it. Don’t you think? Elvan is devastated, but she nods in agreement, then walks away, heartbroken. She turns and looks at Halise and at the mansion before leaving through the gate. [I hate Halise]
Mavi wakes up first, then wakes Sancar by touching his face. [lol, another KPA moment] Sorry [not sorry], she says. He smiles, you were watching me? [Turkish] Let’s say I was studying you, she replies. And what do you think, he asks? That I love you, she says. He kisses her hand and touches her face. You are very beautiful, he tells her. Another kiss and… Mavi? Tell me when you are ready. [we know he is!]
She kisses him and it looks like it’s a go. oh no…. her phone rings. She says it’s probably Bora. She’s willing to ignore it but he can’t. He gets a shock when he grabs the phone and sees it’s Kavruk making a video call! Mavi is surprised, too. Kavruk? Why would Kavruk call me? Mavi readies herself to take the call and Sancar watches from the side.
Another surprise… It’s me, Mavi, Melek! Greetings exchanged and Melek reminds her about the mother – daughter group. You said we could go. When will you take me, Melek asks? I am bored at home. I remember, Mavi says, I’ll get the information and register us right away. Okay? Mavi… I’d like to ask you something, but don’t get mad, Melek tells her. Why would I get mad, Mavi replies, tell me, don’t be afraid. There will be lots of girls at that place, Melek asks, can I call you “mother” when we are there? If it doesn’t upset you.
Why would that bother me, Mavi replies. Melek worries they will make fun of her if they find out her mother abandoned her. I will be the only girl without a mother. Sancar is affected by this. I would be happy to be your mother, Mavi tells Melek. It will be as you want. Melek thanks her and sends a kiss, which Mavi returns. “Görüşürüz” See you. End call.
Sancar wipes his eye. She forgot about me, he says. Mavi smiles, are you jealous of me? He nods, they laugh. I don’t know how to thank you, he tells her. There’s nothing to thank, she replies and adds, we need to solve the subject of school. Melek needs to return to classes quickly. She needs to be with kids her age.
I don’t know where to begin, Sancar says. [Turkish] Melek learned abroad, Sancar says, and has trouble with Turkish. That’s why she doesn’t want to go to school. Mavi says she will help her and she will talk to the school director to explain the situation. Don’t worry, you’re busy, she asks, do you want me to take care of this? Of course, Sancar replies. I thought Melek would react differently. But she loves you. Apparently she has accepted it, Mavi says, but she will never want to share her father. But you are the exception, Sancar replies, and he’s ready to pick up where they left off before the call.
Are you hungry, Mavi asks? A little, he replies, but he might have something else on his mind. Mavi springs out of bed. Sancar sighs, of course, I am a human being and I have needs. [there will be no baby made today]
Sedat has come to see Guven, just as he predicted. Guven says let him wait a bit. Let him understand that he needs us more than we need him. I want it to be clear that I give the orders.
After an appropriate amount of time, Guven meets with Sedat. Right off the bat Sedat says, Sancar Efeoglu is now my enemy. I came to see how we can help each other. What changed, Guven asks? Don’t tell me you saw Mavi and that idiot holding hands. No, Sedat replies, I found out that Sancar and Mavi got married.
Guven didn’t expect that. Sedat hands him the marriage certificate. This happened sooner than I expected, Guven says. Sancar has touched my woman, Sedat states, I’m going to kill him. Now, tell me what you are going to do to help me. The easiest way to hurt Sancar is to attack one of his loved ones. Guven says he will get Sedat hired as a lawyer, and Ahmet will be his client.
Dudu is setting the breakfast table and Yahya comes downstairs and heads right for the door. She stops him and he tells her he’s not hungry. She puts her arms around him and wants to know what’s wrong. Nothing, he replies, I have a meeting. He removes her arms from around his shoulders. She reminds him that they have to go shopping later. He tells her he will be busy. Let Necdet take you where you want to go, he says and leaves.
Dudu immediately calls Halise. Yahya just left and he was acting very strange. He doesn’t even look at me. He may be suspicious. I don’t think so, Halise replies, don’t raise any more suspicions, you hear? That bastard Ahmet won’t dare to return. Yahya will forget about him in a few days. I’ve been shopping. Tomorrow is a special day, it’s your wedding day. Leave the past behind, Halise advises. And Dudu, don’t call me Halise Hanım (Señora Halise), now I will be your MIL, call me Halise Anne (Mother Halise). Dudu feels better now.
Not sure exactly where they are but Halise spots Guven. Sedat is with him. Halise waves aside one of Guven’s thugs as she approaches. Lol And Guven tells the guy to let her through. Don’t upset her or I will have her son Sancar breaking down my door. [Ha, Sedat is checking out Halise] Don’t send anymore men, Halise warns, or I assure you will never see Melek’s face again.
Don’t threaten me, Guven counters, I have a right to see my granddaughter. You lost that right when you came to my house with an army of lawyers and the police, Halise says. That was my fault for treating you like a human being. From now on, don’t expect anything from me. Halise turns and walks away.
Do you see, Guven tells Sedat, these are the people my granddaughter lives with. Son and mother are the same. They don’t have manners. That’s Sancar’s mother, Sedat asks? Yep. I see, Sedat replies.
Sancar starts a difficult conversation. [There was a slight edit and difference in Turkish.] Mavi… this is difficult for me. Can we move to the mansion? I thought that you and Melek would move here, she replies. Mavi…. That is impossible. I can’t leave my mother. The place is like our castle. If one of us leaves, it’s going to collapse. [good grief. Mavi or Halise? No contest.]
Mavi takes a moment to answer. So, you don’t trust your family, she says. What does that have to do with it, Sancar asks? You don’t have to live under one roof to be a family, she tells him. But the three of us need privacy to become one. Melek and I are just beginning to get to know each other. And the same with you and me. We can visit the mansion whenever you want. But I want us to have our own world, belonging to just the three of us.
This is a problem for Sancar. He puts an uneasy smile on his face and says, ok, we’ll discuss it after we speak with the others. I won’t talk to anyone else, she tells him. Whatever concerns us, I will only discuss with you. Sancar is ready to change the subject. It’s late, you haven’t dressed. I’ll take you to work. Mavi doesn’t need a ride, she’s going in late today. You know you don’t have to work, he tells her. I know I don’t have to work, she replies, it’s not about the money. I only do it because I want to.
Sancar says he doesn’t like that Bora guy. But he tells her it’s ultimately her decision. We won’t move into the mansion, Mavi says, and I won’t change my opinion. Okay? He’s clearly upset but tells her she has the last word. He repeats this as he promptly gets up, puts his coat on and heads for the door. She comes over to him before he leaves. One smile from her and he smiles back. He gives her a kiss before leaving. [he’s really trying]
Elvan is working in the store. She's sad and sniffles. Dudu stops in front and they look at each other. Ha, Elvan quickly puts on a pair of sunglasses. Dudu enters. I was going to the mansion, she says, but I decided to pass here first. Your store is very nice, congratulations. Elvan answers with a short, thanks. Are you feeling alright, Dudu asks? Why are you wearing sunglasses inside? Because it’s sunny for me, Elvan responds.
Dudu says she knows this is difficult for her. I know you hate me. But can we leave the anger behind? And if you think about it, you will see that there’s nothing to be angry about. You were forced to marry Yahya. (Notice Elvan quickly wipe her face.) Neither you nor Yahya were happy. You suffered, Yahya suffered. But look at you now, you have a business. Yahya is going to be a father. We both got what we were looking for. Elvan says nothing.
Okay, you’re busy, Dudu says, I won’t take up more time. Halise Anne is expecting me. Tomorrow will be a big day. You’re planning on coming, right? Elvan mutters under her breath, this isn’t possible, have patience Elvan, don’t explode. Take care, Dudu says and finally leaves. [I hate Dudu]
Bora enters Elvan’s store. He asks right away if she’s okay and, who was that woman? Dudu. Ah, what did she have to say? And why are you wearing sunglasses inside? Elvan sits down and gets back to work. Are you still upset with me, Bora asks? Don’t ignore me, please. Take those glasses off and let’s talk. Elvan shouts, leave me alone! I have too many worries.
Okay, Bora says, let’s talk. [Turkish] You expected me to give you more attention, and this is your right. I avoided it. Understand me, too. I didn’t mean to upset or offend you. Elvan bursts out crying. Ah, now you are crying, tell me why you cry, he says. And take off the glasses. He lifts them off her face. What is making you so upset? Tell me why you are crying.
It’s none of your business, she sobs, it’s private. Okay, he says, thanks for confirming you are not crying because of me. Why are you crying? Is it because of that woman, Dudu? That’s right, Elvan says. Why, he asks, what happened? I don’t have a family, she cries, I don’t have anyone. I’m alone. And now I’m going to be homeless.
Bora doesn’t understand. They threw me out, Elvan says, I feel completely humiliated. Bora sighs. Dear Elvan… He gives her a hug and she cries in his arms. Why do you allow those people to hurt you? You don’t need them. We already spoke about that, remember? He says, let’s go. Where? To my café. We’ll talk about your problems while you drink a hot chocolate. Let’s go.
Elvan and Bora sit and talk. It’s for the better, he tells her. That house is a prison for you, I told you. But you have finally taken off the chains. You are a free woman. Well, yes, but I felt good and comfortable there, she shares. I was used to following orders and being obedient. That person isn’t you, Bora says. Life has given you the opportunity to start again. You have to take advantage of this. Look at it that way.
I don’t even know where I’m going to stay, Elvan says, but I know I won’t go back to the mansion. Don’t go back there ever again, Bora tells her. You can stay in my van, he offers. Elvan gets offended. You are going to take advantage of the situation?! He laughs. You still have doubts about me? I’ll take you to the van and I will sleep here, he says. Don’t worry. There’s a bed here. Don’t worry. Just accept and that’s that. Deal? It’s a deal. Elvan likes the mocha Bora prepared for her, too.
And we are out.
Liz
Fev, yes, I thought crazycreepy ex was in Madre. I only surfed in and out of that show and it wasn't recapped , so I wasn't sure if he was good or bad , but he seemed okay.
Dondi, your recaps are amazing , and you are amazingly generous to provide them for us everyday. Thank you .
I feel so sorry for Elvan . Halise is pushing her out of her home ,and dim Dudu drops into the shop to rub salt into her wounds . I hope that karma is filling the salt shaker for Dudu, who really is a thoughtless Dodo. Dodo and Yoyo deserve each other (Yodo).
Uh oh, Yaya is having second thoughts about Dudu . I hope that the writers dont decide to reunite him with Elvan. I would like to see her with sweet Bora.
Gee, these writers are giving us an explanation for why Melek isn't in school. Isnt school mandatory in Turkey ? It never occurred to me that Turkish wasnt Me!ek's first language .
Maybe psycho Sedat will turn out to be Guven's anvil . I don't think Guv realizes just how BSC Sedat is.
P.s.#1 Why isn't Guv in Jail for trying go bury Kemel in cement ? That seems like it could be illegal .
P.s. #2 Watching "Kurulus" puts all tbe other telenovelas and dizis into perspective . In that show, people are pulling arrows out of their shoulders and caugerizing their own wounds by putting their swords into the campfire.yikes .
Thanks, Dondi, great recap. Guven basically suggested to Sedat that the way to hurt Sancar was to harm a family member. Does he not realize that Malek is the family member he loves the most. Hopefully he won’t hurt a child. But Guven’s man did tell him not to involve the psychopath. Maybe he’ll go after Halise. How cruel of her to throw Elven out of the house and not be willing to admit she did it.
Mavi is smarter than all of them, she knows that mansion is toxic.
I’m glad Elvan is letting Bora help her. I wonder if Yaya is regretting his cheating. And maybe he has doubts about the baby being his. But I’m sure Dudu is happy, she’s getting what she wanted. I wonder if she loves Yaya or the romance was calculated to get her in the mansion. Didn’t she live there once and have her cousin and everyone doing her bidding. Or was that Meanie!
I taught elementary school. We always had students entering that didn’t speak English. They learn so fast. And Malek is living with and talking to all her family in their language. She would catch up easily.
If everyone moves out, Zehra with Kavruk, Guislye with Nedium, Dudu will be doing all the cooking and cleaning!
Liz
Carmella, I, too, noticed that Adalet has a kind face . Maybe she didn't kill Hassan. And I hate Hulya , too . The actress looks familiar to me. I wonder if I saw her in another dizi.
Susanlynn said it perfectly so I echo her: 'your recaps are amazing , and you are amazingly generous to provide them for us everyday!!!'
I have a question, I was trying to remember, what happened to Meanie? Last I remember she escaped the restaurant and was headed back to town...did something else happen? Could she still resurface?
I don't understand what motivates Guven, he's a money hungry gambler, right? Now he has all of Akim's money, why doesn't he just disappear to greener pastures??? Is it a pride thing? A need to win? He clearly doesn't actually care about Melek.....he should run away with Halise never to be seen again!!!
Halise is cold hearted, she really does seem to care about Elvan somewhere deep down but that clearly doesn't stop her from being unspeakably cruel to her!!
I still miss Gediz I liked his irreverent sense of humor and his interactions with Sancar.
Thank you, patio!
It’s hard to watch Elvan being tortured. Sancar needs to know about this.
“I hope that karma is filling the salt shaker for Dudu.” Lol.. let’s hold on to that thought, Susanlynn.
Good one, Liz: “If everyone moves out, Zehra with Kavruk, Guislye with Nedium, Dudu will be doing all the cooking and cleaning!” When Gulsiye comes back to visit, Dudu can serve her.
The whole Melek in school thing has been a head scratcher. Early on, there was some sort of homeschooling. Was it pandemic related or a conscious choice made by Nare? It was never fully explained or maybe I lost it in translation. I also remember Melek’s Turkish being corrected a couple of times. And if you remember, there was that brief time of peace and understanding between NarSan when they were going to devote themselves to Melek. They even visited a school together. Then it all blew up with the Meanie pregnancy bomb.
No one called the cops in the Kerem cement caper, so Guven got away with it. All Sancar wanted was Melek. Guven probably would have found away to wiggle out of it anyway.
“Watching "Kurulus"… people are pulling arrows out of their shoulders and caugerizing their own wounds…” Did they wrap anyone in cowhide yet, Susanlynn?
Guven is setting up something between Ahmet and Sedat. Looks like he’s going after Halise.
Darcy, Meanie was carted off to jail in season two. She was charged with killing Sahra. We don’t have an update.
We’ve only had hints at what made Guven the monster he his is today. He’s mentioned his mother a couple of times. She probably could have put Halise to shame. It’s all about power and prestige with Guven and he wants to possess Melek to create her in the image of Nare. What a nightmare.
I also miss Gediz. I like the actor, too. I guess they thought there was no reason to keep him around after Nare left. I wish they gave him a better death scene, though. He never regained consciousness. No hakkını helal et, no helal olsun. At least he had a decent funeral, and a baby was named after him.
Susanlynn, since you posted here, I’ll answer your amor-val question here. You might have seen “Adalet” in Magnificent Century, she was Mahidevran’s servant, Gulsah. I’ve seen the actress in a couple of other dizis as well.
Doctora Sahra was Akin's half-sister, who came out of nowhere. He had called upon her to help with Meanie's fake pregnancy. But by the time she arrived in town, Akin went over the cliff with Sancar and was nowhere to be found. In the meantime, she started treating Sancar, she moved in Nare, she befriended Ceylan, and became a potential love interest for Gediz.
Sahra eventually found out what happened and plotted revenge. She pulled a gun on Sancar in the olive grove office. Nare and Gediz were also there. Gediz shot her to save Sancar. She recuperated in Gediz's guest house. It seemed as if she was on her way to redemption.
Meanie was out to get revenge on Ceylan and followed her when she visited Sahra. Meanie attacked Ceylan and Sahra stepped in to protect her. Meanie pushed Sahra, who fell and hit her head. She died in Gediz's arms.
I miss Gediz too, he was fun to watch but when he confessed his love for Nare he lost some of his personality!
I , too, miss Gediz , the original Gediz who was Sanjar's loyal friend . However, when Gediz started pursuing Nare provoking constant physical fighting with Sanjar , I got tired of it . Gediz ended up betraying Sanjar . Friends don't do that.
The relationship between Sanjar and Nare that started off so sweetly when they were children became a toxic situation thanks to Akin and Guven and San rejecting Nare. It wasn't helped by Meanie entering the picture and then Gediz falling for Nare , who was damaged beyond repair . Now San is desperate to pick up the pieces of his shattered life . I hope these writers give him,and Melek, and Mavi , and us a HEA. We all deserve it .
Los Cambios
Part 1 of 2
1979: Federico was now Vicente's agent. [Was this good or bad?]
Later, Vicente celebrated with Federico and Felipe; all appeared happy. That was followed by a recording session with Vicente singing with much force. Federico seemed less than completely satisfied.
1979, Costa Rica: Vicente performed a concert for a very enthusiastic audience. Cash was flowing in and piled on the counting table. The three celebrated with cognac this time.
1979, Jalisco: Vicente was with Patricia again, carrying on outdoors. He carved their names or initials onto a large nopale. Then he gave her a heart pendant on a gold chain. This all looked by a movie scene without a crew to record it.
1979, El Tahúr: Amparo was in this film and Patricia paid a surprise visit to the set. Amparo became jealous. A female TV reporter was interviewing Vicente about his love life and he gave the usual vague answers.
Federico and Felipe talked about each new concert and film should be different. Federico also pointed out Vicente's recent weight gain to him. Later there was a photo session with Vicente dressed in a white traje de charro.
Guadalajara: Vicente went home to his family. Alejandro wanted to hear everything about his tour. He asked why he was away so much. Vicente answered that he wanted to e able to give his family everything. Refugio said she didn't need a big house; that family was the priority.
Award presentation footage on TV.
Later Refugio tried to talk to him about their relationship. She started undressing to join him in the shower. They began getting it on as we all wonder what she is thinking.
They drove out to an area where Vicente told his family that this was where their ranch – Los Très Potrillos – will be built. Refugio was happy that this dream was realized and the boys were all psyched. He thought back to the day when he made this promise to his mother and they all sat down to eat. Later Vicente introduced the boys to his new mare... named Patricia. Refugio's mood darkened as Vicente told his sons they all needed to learn how to control horses.
Los Cambios
Part 2 of 2
2000, New Year's Eve: Everyone sang “El Rey” accompanied by three guitarists. Then Patricia arrived with Rodrigo, her son. Refugio was very displeased and considered this disrespectful. Patricia walked out of the house and Gerardo went after her. He told her to leave and that he would prove that Rodrigo isn't his father's son. Finally, he forcefully told her “You will always be the other woman.” This almost became violent.
Refugio apologized to Rodrigo, telling him she didn't hate him. He said he knew his mother was bad but he loved his father. They toasted the New Year and all thought of their secret wishes. Rodrigo wanted his father to love his mother. V.Jr wanted his children with him, but his ex had prevented that. They went outside to watch the fireworks. During this Refugio told Vicente that he needed to get control of his other women.
1980, Jalisco: Vicente got it on with Patricia, who wanted more time with him. This became the usual conversation for this situation, ending with Vicente telling Patricia that he could not divorce Refugio. She wanted to see his ranch. After some hesitation he seemed to promise it [I didn't catch the details].
1980, Los Très Potrillos: Refugio kissed her sons goodnight and went into the common areas of the hacienda. She thought back to their marriage vows, then looked at the movie posters. He came inside and talked about getting back to work. She tried to get him in the mood. [Archive footage of him honoring her at an award presentation].
2020: V.Jr hung out by the fire with his current novia (Ilena>) and Alejandro who said “If you're happy, I'm happy.” He told him that his grandchild make him happy while thinking of the first time he put the child on a horse. They mentioned V.Sr's possible birthday celebration and the declining state of his health.
1999: V.Jr knelt, sang, and made entries in his journal. V.Sr came out of the house with a guitar. V.Jr had to be coached into trying to sing again.
2020: V.Jr and his girlfriend left Alejandro's place just as Dalia arrived. The girlfriend wanted to marry and have children. Dalia arrived and told Alejandro she had to talk to this father.
Date unknown: Refugio bleached her hair.
I have been recording this and have watched small parts of it, enough to get the idea. It is very silly, but silly is much more tolerable to me than much of the melodrama and unpleasantness served up in some other novelas. It also does not seem too "cutesy", which is a relief.
I also find the tension for some of Andrea's cast between their real relationships and their roles to be interesting, and the walls between them seem to be breaking down.
Today I am going to spend some time looking at the recordings to decide whether I want to actually "commit" to this one. "Commit" as in I'm watching until they jump the shark.
I also like the idea of being able to doze off now and then, and not lose much of the thread :-)
Andy
Can't wait to see how this story unfolds and rolls to the end. Who's going to get a dozen yellow roses? And there will be babies abounding .
Weirdo, the novela starts today in Mexico. Not sure when it starts airing on Univision.
OT
Urban, you say "I'm going to declare that nothing can be sexier than a handsome guy who sings sad love songs." I agree with you 100%. Sad love song sang by pretty men was how I first got into Spanish music. Ricky Martin singing "Livin' la vida loca" is not the same Ricky Martin singing "Vuelve", even with all the hip moving, booty shaking that he so expertly does.
Oh, well, felt like adding my important input to the conversation :))
That will start here on the 28th. It will replace Rey, which I think will have one or two episodes fewer than in Nexico.
I will be there . I hope it is a good one . Lucia in that red dress looks like it will be.
Adriana..bonjour, cher. Yes, love Ricky Martin . Loved him with the long hair back in the day.
Muchisimas gracias, Dondi. Superb recaps.
Though it was too soon, the Mavi-Sancar wedding seemed like a good thing to me. But now the honeymoon is over, with Mavi keeping Sancar in the dark. I resent it because her silence is putting all of them in danger. Ack! Akin 2.0. Unlike Akin, Sedat can handle hand to hand combat himself without a goon squad's help.
Elvan and Bora. I see a HEA. They'll get through this
Elvan and Halise. I haven't forgotten when Elvan said she married Yahya to have Halise as a mother-in-law. Yahya is no prize -- but I'll admit I'm moved by those gorgeous eyes of his -- but that was pretty hurtful, especially for a guy with insecurity issues and in his big bro's shadow. Still, if Yahya truly regretted how he's treated Elvan, he would confess that he lied and there's nothing wrong with her fertility.
Halise is worse than ever. It's not just that she's tossing out Elvan but how cruelly she's doing it. I'm guessing she's fine with Dudu putting one over Yahya because now she has something to control Dudu with for the rest of her life. Witch.
I am still behind and trying to catch up. I watched the episode today where they rescued Guven's driver and Kavruk said 'I'll take that one guy and you have to take care of the rest' to Sancar. Seeing him actually gesture to the he wanted to take and saying: 'You. Come here!!!' was so freaking hilarious!
Darcy, I didn't know what Kavruk was saying , but I saw him getting ready to rumble . It looked like tge way wrestlers face off with their opponent just before they wrestle. I love the way the writers are portraying Kav this season . He is funnier and more confident . He seems to be more of an equal \bff to Sanjar now that Gediz is gone . I love the relationship between San and Kav. Kavruk has always been loyal and had San's back , but now their bond is stronger.
